Both of my children have attended this la petite academy, and i must say that i am shocked by the other reviews here. we have been nothing but happy and grateful for the services this school has provided to our children. my kids actually ASK if they can go to school since we’ve had them enrolled here. the teachers and staff have been amazing. they treat my kids like they’re their own children. they go above and beyond to make sure me, my husband and our children are happy and comfortable and make sure to communicate with us every step of the way. i would definitely recommend this school to inquiring parents!

Always very attentive, helpful and keep informed your child’s daily interactions.

All I could say is that La Petite is Amazing ! It’s not like I’m dropping off my children to complete strangers, the staff at La Petite is more like a family . I feel so comfortable knowing that my children are well taken care off !

My daughter loves going to school at La Petite. *** is such a kind and thoughtful teacher. My son went there ten years ago and he loved *** too. I’m glad both of my children have had the opportunity to experience her compassionate and caring instruction.

My 10 month old has been at La Petite since she was 22 weeks old. It was so hard for me to start leaving her at daycare, but I have to say it’s been the best decision. She has grown so much and loves being there. She adores *** and interacts with the other babies her age. I’ve really grown to adore all the ladies here and I’m so thankful to have them watch over my baby girl a couple days a week. I would recommend La Petite to other working moms.

My 3 year old is currently attending the preschool program and she loves going to school. I love how happy she is and how much she loves her teachers. Thank you La Pettite for all you do I love knowing my daughter is in great hands.

This school ROCKS!!! The management, teachers, cook, EVERYONE is so warm and friendly. My daughter has learned so much and she is always so eager to to attend. She will be ready for kindergarten next year and we are seriously discussing staying at La Petite for their Private Kindergarten program. We have had nothing but great expieriences here. We would recommend this school to anyone.

My son has been here for the last year and a half, and we love it. The teachers have always been so nice and helpful that it truly makes dropping him off a great experience. He started out as the shy kid since he does not have any other brothers or sisters, but that quickly changed. He wakes up each morning excited to get there. The managment there is also wonderful. I have called several times to check on my son as well as just to check on my balanace and they make sure I always have what I need. The few teachers that I have come in contact with were ***. Each one of them always has a smiling face, and they make sure that my son is good. When I walk in they are always engaged and I can tell the kids love being there!! I would recommend this center to anyone.. If you don’t believe me simply vist the school.!!

I have had my daughter enrolled in the Kinder prep classroom since 2014. She has learned more than we ever imagined possible! The teachers are warm and friendly and really seem to care about my childs education. I have no doubt now that she is MORE than ready to start Kindergarten next year!

Sam is an amazing director who pours her heart into what she does. I am so impressed with her passion. The staff has great tenure and are truly dedicated to developing young minds. The facility is clean and safe. The curriculum is top notch. This school is truly an A+ location!

Note on Deficiencies

Deficiencies are listed in broad categories and are available online for 36 months. We encourage you to contact your region office for an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or for additional information about this facility’s compliance. Resolved “On Site” means that a violation was resolved during the Licensing Specialist’s inspection.

Severity Levels

High:

These are the most serious violations of child care regulations and could pose a risk to the health and safety of children. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.

Medium:

These are significant violations of child care regulations and could negatively impact the health and safety of children. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.

Low:

These violations are the least likely to impact health and safety, but they still show that a facility is out of compliance with some child care regulations. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.

Note on Frequency of Inspections

Centers, Group Homes, and Licensed Family Homes::

In 2014, legislation was passed that changed the number of unannounced visits from two per year to one per year in Child Care Centers, Group Child Care Homes, and Licensed Family Child Care Homes. As a result of this new law, you may see a decrease in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for these types of providers. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint, and visits are scheduled with the facility during the re-licensing process, which occurs every two years.

90,000 bewitching cypresses on Lake Gaddo in Texas

Latest update:

Caddo Lake – another amazing and mystical place in the USA, area in the US 106 sq. km. It is located in the eastern part of Texas, near the border with Louisiana. The area around the reservoir looks like in a fairy tale about dinosaurs – strange plants grow everywhere, and the atmosphere is simply incredible. The territory of the magical lake Caddo is reserved and protected, as many different animals have found a home here, among which there are many species of mammals, birds, fish and reptiles. Among the large number of animals in this area, many are considered rare and endangered species. nine0003

Fantastic lake appeared not by chance. A couple of centuries ago, logs and other river debris from the Red River created a congestion, and beavers living on the banks of the river began to reinforce this “plug” with dams. Thus, a reservoir was formed that blocked the river, which eventually began to turn into one of the most beautiful lakes on the planet.

Of all the diverse plants of Lake Caddo, the most interesting sight is the cypress forests, which are also considered the largest in the world. The height of majestic trees is more than 50 meters. The cypress trees are at least 100 years old, and some trees are even 700 years old. Almost all the trunks are in the water of the lake, which is why for many years they have developed special formations – “cypress knees”. They look like large shoots that are somewhat reminiscent of stumps growing directly from the roots. Thanks to them, cypress trees can be saturated with additional oxygen and survive during hurricanes. nine0003

These incredible trees are made even more fabulous by Spanish moss that turns green in winter and deep gray in summer. Moss wraps the branches and trunks of cypress trees in a soft carpet, which gives the trees a special mystery.

View photo in full sizeThere is an unusual legend that is associated with Spanish moss. This story belongs to the ancient Caddo Indian tribe. The bottom line is that once upon a time a young girl and a guy fell in love with each other very much and decided to run away together from the tribe. They were happy, walked along the shores of the lake and admired its beauty. But suddenly the girl became very ill and soon died. Her beloved cut off her long hair as a memento before burying her. After that, he walked along the shores of the lake and hung the braids of the dead girl on the trees. Over the years, they have turned gray, but to this day they hang on the branches of cypresses, preserving the memory of the eternal love of two people. nine0003

View photo in full size Anyone who knows at least a little English can see this fabulous place with their own eyes. On the shores of Lake Caddo is a small town with an interesting name Uncertain, which translates as “Uncertain”. The city is just three hours from Dallas. And it exists only thanks to tourists who often come to look at the strange and beautiful cypresses. Here you can rent a motor boat and spend the night in a bungalow. There are also guided tours on a paddle steamer. nine0003

Colorful kingdom of cypresses and mosses

on the eastern outskirts of Texas, almost near the border with Louisiana, which is adopted vast Louisiana swamps, is the amazing Caddo Lake. It is unique in that the most extensive cypress forests grow on its expanses. The trees covered with Spanish moss growing in the middle of a clear reservoir with clear waters present a truly fantastic landscape. Looking at them, one can involuntarily believe in the reality of the legends and mystical stories that tell about this area. nine0003

Creation of beavers: the history of Lake Caddo

The picturesque reservoir of Caddo was formed at the beginning of the 19th century as a result of a combination of circumstances. As a result of a powerful hurricane on the Red River, which flows in this area, a jam was formed from fallen trees and branches. The beavers living here took advantage of a happy opportunity and created a dam.

This is how a huge enclosed reservoir appeared, which later acquired the fame of one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Caddo covers an area of 106 sq. km, and its depth varies from one to three meters. Moreover, the water in it is so transparent that in some places you can see swimming fish at a depth of two meters. nine0003

The Caddo Indians who lived in this area until 1835, from whom this Texas lake got its name, had their own version of its origin. According to her, the reservoir appeared due to a series of earthquakes, after which a dam was formed, then supplemented by the efforts of beavers. Curiously, later the Caddo Indians left this area, selling the lake and the surrounding territories to white settlers.

Creepy “knees” from under the water

The cypresses of Lake Caddo are unique in every way. Firstly, they form the largest cypress forest in the world, growing in the expanse of water.

The height of many cypresses here reaches 50 meters or more, and the minimum age of these trees is a hundred years. However, in places there are also more ancient giants, whose age is estimated at six to seven hundred years.

Secondly, two types of cypress grow here – Arizona and swamp. The latter is unique in that it sheds foliage for the winter, for which it is often referred to as the “bald cypress”. nine0003

Caddo cypresses growing in water are unique in that they have peculiar formations called “knees”. They represent hemp protruding above the water, growing directly from the roots of trees. Scientists still cannot come to a consensus about these bizarre processes.

It is believed that the “knees of the cypress” can additionally feed the roots of trees with oxygen or allow them to better establish themselves in the water to withstand a hurricane. Be that as it may, but the processes protruding from the water only complement the mystical atmosphere of Lake Caddo, resembling giant fingers of monsters that reach out to travelers. nine0003

“Old man’s beard” and braids of an Indian girl: the charm of Spanish moss

But not only “cypress knees” give the trees of Lake Caddo a mystical and frightening appearance. The picture of revived fairy tales about kikimore, goblin and mermen perfectly complements the bizarre Spanish moss, which many “bald” cypresses are shrouded in.

His strands are gray in summer and turn green in winter, creating an impressive contrast at any time of the year. The thing is that in winter this vegetation receives more moisture, which gives it a pronounced emerald color. nine0003

Spanish moss is the main enemy of cypresses and at the same time the main artist of the local landscapes. It does not parasitize on plants and does not draw juices from them, but leads to their death in a different way.

By entangling the trees, it cuts off sunlight from reaching their foliage, resulting in the appearance of gray skeletons that, like the dead and terrible monsters, rise among Caddo Lake. It was these cypress trees “bewitched” by moss that gave rise to numerous legends about this unusual reservoir, according to which lost tourists turn into dried skeletons. nine0003

There was a beautiful romantic legend among the Indians about the appearance of Spanish moss on trees. According to legend, once upon a time there lived a happy couple in love on the shore of the lake. But the girl suddenly died.

The guy buried her, but before that he cut off her braids, and then hung her hair on the branches of trees in memory of his beloved. Over the years, the braids have turned gray and continue to serve as a reminder of great love. It is curious that the name “Spanish moss” was also coined by the Indians, to whom this plant resembled the gray beards of the Spanish conquerors. nine0003

Other flora, fauna Caddo and Bigfoot

The flora of Lake Caddo is not limited to cypresses and Spanish moss. In addition to their dense thickets, many beautiful water lilies and lotuses grow here. In general, the local flora has about 190 types of vegetation, including more than 40 types of vines and 75 different herbs.

The Caddo fauna is no less diverse. About fifty species of mammals, more than two hundred species of birds, about 60 species of fish and about 30 species of reptiles inhabit the reservoir and its environs. Given such a rich biodiversity of the area, it is not surprising that since 19For 93 years, the territory of the reservoir and its environs has been declared a reserve.

Lake Caddo is also believed to be the habitat of the semi-mythical creatures Bigfoot – a kind of analogue of the Yeti. They are covered with thick hair and are very tall.

The first mention of them dates back to the formation of the lake here. In Texas, a special society for the study of Bigfoot was even created. Every year in the spring, its members organize expeditions to Lake Caddo in order to search for these legendary creatures. nine0003

“Uncertain” city near Lake Caddo

Near Lake Caddo is the small town of Uncertain, whose name translates as “Uncertain”. It was formed, like the reservoir itself, at the dawn of the 19th century, and the history of its occurrence is no less interesting.

Sailors most often marked the cargo rafted along the rivers with playing cards, which were often lost along the way, and no one knew where exactly the delivery should be. Such an indefinite cargo was stored on the shore, where subsequently a settlement with the bizarre name “Uncertain” was formed. nine0003

Now the town, located only three hours from Dallas, lives solely on tourists who come to admire the amazing cypresses of Caddo Lake. To travel along the picturesque reservoir, you can rent a boat here or book an excursion on a steamer with a water wheel.

Renting kayaks and kayaks is no less popular here. But on such a journey, one should not forget that alligators live in the lake. True lovers of romance can rent a wooden bungalow on stilts right on the lake, which will allow you to fully appreciate the mystical atmosphere of Caddo. nine0003

There are many fishing bases on the shores of Lake Caddo, and fishing is one of the most popular activities here, in addition to photo shoots against the backdrop of “bald” cypresses and water trips among their thickets. But it’s still better to go fishing with a local guide if you don’t want to get lost among the cypress labyrinths of the lake. The vegetation here is quite dense, so you can spend many hours before finding a pier.

How to get to Caddo Lake

Since Caddo Lake is located on the border of two US states, the starting point for traveling to it can be chosen in any of them. From the state of Louisiana, it is best to get here from the city of Shreveport, from which it is about 35 km to the reservoir. nine0003

Texas has more choices. You can get from Dallas to Uncertain or choose the city of Marshall (72 km to the lake) or Karnak as a starting point, from which the information center of Caddo Lake is about 16 km.

The tourist season here lasts from March to November. The best time to visit Caddo Lake is from late October to mid-November, when the cypresses growing here change their foliage color, magically transforming into multi-colored autumn attire.

In autumn, a truly fabulous atmosphere reigns here, which makes you involuntarily believe in ancient Indian legends and in the existence of the semi-mythical Bigfoot here. Not surprisingly, it was the autumn landscapes of the Caddo cypress labyrinths that served as the filming location in 2010 for most of the Jaws 3D episodes.

Registered Family Homes:

Most family homes are registered, not licensed. In 2014, legislation was passed that allows Child Care Licensing to make one unannounced visit to these homes each year. As a result of this new law, you may see an increase in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for Registered Family Child Care Homes. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint. Click here for an overview of each facility and the requirements they must meet according to state law.

Cookies are a small, sweet confection that is easy to make at home. Varieties of cookies have both complex and simple recipes. Depending on the recipe and technique, cookies are divided into several categories: sugar, lingering, rich. Butter cookies themselves are divided into shortbread, oatmeal and whipped. The main ingredients for making cookie dough are wheat flour, sugar, and some type of oil or fat. In addition to the main ingredients, cottage cheese, raisins, chocolate, nuts, dried fruits are added to the dough, or they are glued together with various fillings, jam, condensed milk and covered with various glazes. Our authors share with us different ways of making cookies, with step-by-step recipes and photos. nine0005

9000 taste. Cooking articles and life hacks

“Nothing can replace homemade cookies – neither wonderful bright boxes from the supermarket, nor waffles, marshmallows, dryers familiar from childhood, not even enticingly ideal products of confectionery and bakery shops. Because in addition to butter, flour and sugar, you add your mood, care and, perhaps, a sense of humor, ”says Yulia Vysotskaya. And we completely agree with her. Cook delicious cookies at home, delight your loved ones! nine0005

    Coconut Oatmeal Cookies

A very simple recipe for oatmeal cookies. To make it healthier, use wholemeal flour. You can also add raisins, dried cranberries, cherries, chopped prunes or dried apricots to the dough. Instead of malt, ordinary sugar syrup or liquid honey is suitable, and ground nuts are used instead of coconut flakes.

    Detailed recipe.

    Nut Protein Cookies

Only four ingredients are needed to make this treat: hazelnuts, powdered sugar, rice flour and egg whites. To make the cookies fluffy and airy, the proteins should be cold and not too fresh – it is better if they spend a couple of days in the refrigerator. nine0005

    Detailed recipe.

    Scottish shortbread

The treat contains a mixture of wheat and rice flour with butter and sugar. Instead of rice flour, you can use rice starch. The dough does not have to be spread on a baking sheet with spoons, it is completely baked in a baking dish and cut into portions right there.

    Detailed recipe.

    Marbled Chocolate Chip Cookies

For the best taste, use only quality dark chocolate. Allspice can be replaced with cloves. Any nuts will do: walnuts, almonds, pine nuts, and hazelnuts and chocolate are generally classics. nine0005

    Detailed recipe.

Sunshine Lemon Cookies with Corn Flour

Add a pinch of turmeric to the dough in addition to the corn flour for a beautiful yellow color. Lemon zest will give the treat a bright citrus sourness.

    Detailed recipe.

    Meat grinder biscuits

Biscuit ingredients are the usual: wheat flour, sugar, butter and vanilla extract or cinnamon for flavoring. The whole highlight of the recipe is that the dough is passed through a meat grinder and the shape of the delicacy is very unusual. nine0005

    Detailed recipe.

    Lemon Madeleine with blueberries

Marcel Proust wrote about many Madeleine cake recipes, but this one is very special – with lemon and blueberries. To make the dough more tender and airy, some confectioners recommend letting it stand for a day, or even three days!

    Detailed recipe.

    Financier cookies with poppy seeds

The classic French financier cookies, like Madeleine cookies, are made on proteins from ordinary flour mixed with almonds, but there are a lot of recipe options. Sometimes pistachios are added instead of almonds, and even now it is fashionable to use Japanese matcha tea in baking, it gives an interesting aroma. nine0005

    Detailed recipe.

    Pineapple Coconut Cookies

Cookies are made in just 25 minutes! Take flour, sugar, butter, egg, coconut flakes and candied pineapple rings. Combine, mix, roll up small cakes, and that’s it – you can put it in the oven. The treat will be ready in 8-10 minutes.

    Detailed recipe.

Flour and Egg Free Oatmeal Cookies

A good option for a delicious healthy snack. It contains only useful ingredients: oatmeal, oat bran, almonds, pistachios, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, raisins and honey. Instead of eggs, add ripe bananas to the cookies. nine0005

    Detailed recipe.

    Buckwheat biscuits

Very easy-to-make biscuits with a pleasant tart flavor. Buckwheat honey and buckwheat flour give this simple treat an original touch.

    Detailed recipe.

    Cherry and Almond Finncier Cookies

Almonds and Dried Cherries are substitute ingredients. If desired, you can pick up another walnut-berry pair. For example, hazelnuts and dried cranberries, cherries and walnuts. Also often made with coconut, chocolate or salted caramel, financier can be topped with icing and pairs well with bright flavors like cinnamon and vanilla. nine0005

    Detailed recipe.

    “Tile” biscuits with pistachios

The biscuits deserve this name because of their appearance, because after baking they are very similar to tiles. Take nuts to your taste, cashews, pecans, hazelnuts and dried pine nuts will do. Chocolate and candied fruits will also be appropriate. The main thing is not to overdo the delicacy in the oven, otherwise it will lose plasticity.

    Detailed recipe.

    Lush cookies on kefir

Cookies are crispy on the edges, but soft and tender inside. The dough is similar to what is made for scones, it is low in sugar, so it will appeal to those who do not like sickly sweet. For the filling, instead of jam, you can take chocolate-nut paste or frozen fruits and berries. nine0005

Did i get the job: What Are Some Good Signs You Got The Job?

What Are Some Good Signs You Got The Job?

Are you curious about what are some good signs you got the job? You just got home from the interview. Oh, wait! You forgot to grab your lunch on the way. And didn’t you promise your best friend that you’ll see her on the way back? You forgot that too. Why? Probably because you kept on mulling over your answers and wondering whether or not you did well in the job interview.

You are pretty sure that you didn’t do too bad. But you are also convinced that you didn’t boss the interview. This is the worst feeling when you’re unsure if you’ll get the job, even after hours of pondering.

Interviews can be unpredictable, but you can always look for the right signs.

What if someone tells you that there are signs you can look for during an interview? That these signs mean you will most likely get an offer letter soon.

Knowing these signs would surely take the burden of overthinking off your shoulders, won’t it? So, let us learn what some good signs you got the job are.

Interviewers Are Careful Not to Spill the Beans

Interviewers are super careful about staying neutral during interviews

Remember the countless movie scenes where the interviewer congratulates a teary-eyed candidate and tells him he got the job? Unfortunately, that’s not how things usually work in real life. You might even have to wait several weeks after an interview to get a reply.

You might have other interviews lined up in the meantime, such as a working interview, but every single one is sure to give you sleepless nights. Till the day you receive an affirmative answer from the employer, you keep mulling over your chances. Knowing what good signs you got the job will come in handy to avoid such situations.

Before we talk about these promising signs, we must talk about their limitations. Most importantly, interviewers are very careful not to spill the beans. Some of them might go the extra step to ensure they don’t even drop vague hints such as those we will discuss.

But interviewers and recruiters are as human as every one of us. So, they are prone to giving away these promising signs via body language, physical gestures, or their choice of words.

All you need to do is give these interviewers a taste of their own medicine and observe them for promising signs during an interview.

Know these signs before you take your next interview, and they will save you all the mulling that usually follows an interview.

What Are Some Good Signs You Got The Job During The Interview?

Good signs you got the job during the interview

    1) Casual Conversation

Interviews are strictly professional, and so are the questions by the interviewers. Did your last interview the same and did the interviewers ask you some casual questions? Did they ask questions about you that have got nothing to do with the job profile?

If they did, it is one of the most common promising signs that they’re impressed. Interviews are strictly professional business, and a casual conversation usually signals a green flag for the interviewee.

It means that they have given you a nod professionally and are trying to know you better. Something they would never do to a candidate they are not interested in recruiting.

    2) The Awkward Office Tour

Let us honestly admit it; office tours are awkward. You follow the interviewer around the workplace as they introduce you to other team members, and everybody stops what they are doing to look at you. But as far as promising signs go, this awkward office tour is right up there with the most obvious.

So, if you were given a short office tour but still haven’t received the offer letter, know that it’s a matter of when and not if. Take that tour thoughtfully and sincerely with as much interest as you can as that can be your next workplace!

    3) A Long Interview Is a Good Interview

With whom would you spend more time? Someone you’re planning to work with or a person you’re not even sure of seeing again? The former, right?

It is a good sign whenever you’re held longer in an interview. It means that the interviewer is interested in your profile and is willing to be thorough with the conversation. Even if the interviewer was careful not to drop any verbal or body language hints, you could learn a lot by how long your interview lasted.

This might mean you got the job. In some cases, these long interviews don’t convert, which only means that the interviewer concerned couldn’t seize as much as he wanted about the candidate.

    4) The Perks, Benefits, and Allowances

It is music to the ears. Learning about the many perks and benefits you will get along with the salary. If the interviewer discusses benefits and allowances in detail, consider it a promising sign that you got the job.

After all, they would never talk about specifics such as employee allowances if they were unwilling to recruit you. When talking about some good signs you got the job, it doesn’t get more obvious than a discussion about employee benefits.

    5) Lengthy Conversations About the Company

When the interviewer begins talking about the company, consider it a positive sign. He/She might speak of the company’s vision, the work culture, or how they care for and value their employees.

They might be wanting you to understand the culture of the company. Isn’t that a good sign already?

Whatever the specifics of the conversation may be, the lengthy company talk from the interview usually means that you’ll soon be a part of that company.

    6) The Salary Talk

If the interviewer isn’t interested in hiring you, they usually wrap up before reaching the salary discussion. If you have reached the stage in your interview where the interview is discussing your salary expectations, consider it a promising sign you got the job.

Apart from these fairly obvious ones, other subtle gestures often mean you got the job. For instance, if the interviewer keeps nodding with a genuine smile on his/her face, it probably means that they’re enjoying the conversation and are interested in hiring you.

In simple words, if the interviewer is visibly interested in your answers and doesn’t look bored or frustrated, it is a promising interview sign.

    7) The Very Detailed Talk

If the interviewer is talking beyond the role and position and has started talking about projects or specific work, this could be you hitting your jackpot!

Generally, interviewers are quite cautious about being neutral. But you can certainly assess those little details we mentioned here and guess your pending offer as now you know what are some good signs you got the job.

    Some Not-So-Promising Interview Signs

    Know the bad signs too

Here are a couple of not-so-promising interview signs. After all, if you know some good signs you got the job, why not check out the red flags?

    • One of the significant signs of a bad interview is when it is abruptly cut short. If the interview was supposed to be 20-minute long and an uninterested interviewer let you go in twelve minutes, it might be time to start applying again.
    • Secondly, if the interviewer did not care to explain the job responsibilities or talk about the work culture and the company, they aren’t impressed.
    • Body language signs such as repeatedly staring at the clock or not letting you complete your answer show that the interviewer is unwilling to give you a nod.
    • If the interviewer seems distracted and makes less or no eye contact with you, that might also count as a not-so-promising interview sign.

What Are Some Good Signs You Got the Job After The Interview?

Good Signs You Got the Job After The Interview

    1) Follow-Up Calls

When the recruiter or the hiring manager usually gives you a non-requested or before-mentioned follow-up call, it usually is another sign that they liked you. They are just waiting for a few confirmations to make you an offer. They want to keep touching base to know if you’re already employed or on another interview process.

    2) Follow Up Emails

Similar to the follow-up calls, follow-up emails can come as a request for further missing details during the recruitment process or the interview, such as a request for a vacation period or salary requirements. Usually, these calls can be accompanied by an offer afterward, but there are not mandatory.

    3) The Friendly Tone of Voice

In a call or in any further contact after the interview, you receive a friendly tone of voice from a recruiter, hiring manager, or anyone at the company. It seems like they are trying to attract your attention positively. It’s not only being polite, which you expect all the time, but more than that, a friendly tone of voice may be a good sign you got the job.

How long does it take to know if you got the job after an interview?

It can take up to a month on average to get a job offer. Of course, there are exceptions, either because the company changed plans, or has several levels of approval. Don’t expect a quick job offer, since they are less common, although it can happen.

What Are Some Good Signs You Got The Job? 9 Exciting Clues

Few people enjoy going to job interviews, even though it means they have gotten through several steps of the hiring process. Job interviews are nerve-racking, especially if you really want the job. Not to mention that there may be an added level of stress if you’ve been job hunting for quite some time.

While there is no guaranteed way to know for sure that you got the job (unless you’re told directly), there are a few good signs to look out for.

Subtle Cues To Watch For During An Interview

Although you’ll generally get a better idea of how you did once the interview wraps up, there are a few cues to pay attention to during the interview. You can often tell how you’re doing over the course of the interview using the interviewer’s body language and word choice.

    Body Language

The body language of the interviewer can convey their feelings and intentions. If the interviewer leans in towards you, makes eye contact, or has open body language, it is generally a good sign. It means that they are engaged in the conversation and are interested in what you have to say.

Additionally, watch for positive facial expressions such as smiles and nods. It means that the interviewer is reacting positively to your answers.
On the other hand, if the interviewer is leaning back, avoiding eye contact, or has closed body language, this may be a sign they are uninterested or unimpressed.

    Word Choice

Certain words can indicate how the interviewer is reacting to your responses. Listen for words such as “great,” “terrific,”or “outstanding.” These words are good indicators that the interviewer is impressed with you. If the interviewer uses phrases such as “not good,” “not great,” or “needs improvement,” it probably means they are not as impressed.

Of course, many interviewers will refrain from reacting outwardly. However, if you see that they’re struggling to react in a positive way, it might not be a good sign. For example, if you provide a response and they simply move on to the next question, it might be because they had a negative reaction but don’t want to verbalize it.

9 Positive Signs You’re About To Get A Job Offer

Although you can get some indication of how you did based on the way the interviewer engaged with you throughout your interview, you’ll have a better idea of your performance once the interview ends.

The following are a few positive signs that you’re about to get a job offer, or at the very least are in strong contention for the position.

    1. The Interview Runs Longer Than Scheduled

One of the worst things that can happen during an interview is for it to end abruptly. If an interviewer cuts the interview short, it probably means they have already decided that you aren’t a good fit.

However, if the interview runs longer than scheduled, then that’s a good sign. It could mean the interviewer was so engaged with you and lost track of time, or that they thought you were a good fit and wanted to find out more.

    2. You Were Given A Tour Of The Office

If you were offered a tour of the office, it likely means that you are a promising candidate. After all, there is no reason to offer a tour of the office to someone who did poorly in the interview. It is a good sign because the interviewer wants to show you around, so you can get familiar with your potential new workplace.

    3. You Were Asked A Lot of Follow-Up Questions

If the interviewer asks a lot of questions about you, then they’re interested in what you have to say and they want to know more about you. It’s a positive sign and indicates that they want to dive deeper and see if you’ll make a good fit for the company.

    4. They Discussed The Job Perks With You

If the interviewer brings up the perks of the job with you, it means that they are trying to make the job sound more appealing to you. The interviewer probably sees you as a good fit and wants to make sure that you see them as a good fit as well.

    5. You Were Asked About Your Salary Expectations

Although it’s not always the case, if the interviewer asks you about your salary expectations, it usually indicates you are a strong candidate for the position. It’s a way for them to see how much they need to offer you to get you on board. If they’re thinking ahead to negotiations like this, then they’re very interested in putting together a job offer for you.

    6. They Asked You To Follow Up

When the interviewer tells you to follow up with them, it means they want to continue the conversation with you. They may still have a round of interviews left and don’t want to rush to a decision, but it likely means you are a strong candidate in their mind.

    7. They Asked If You Have Other Interviews Lined Up

When a recruiter or employer asks about other interviews you may have lined up, they’re gauging how much time they have to present you with a job offer. It indicates that they view you as a strong candidate and are afraid that if they wait too long, you may be offered another job elsewhere.

    8. You Were Not Interrupted While You Were Talking

If you’re talking and the interviewer is not interrupting you, then they’re interested in what you have to say and they want to hear more. When an interviewer interrupts you, it usually means that they’ve heard enough or they don’t agree with what you’re saying.

In some cases, they may not even be paying attention and they’re just trying to move the interview along so that it can end as quickly as possible.

    9. They Told You Their Decision Up Front

If the interview has been really successful, they may tell you upfront. If they offer you the position right then and there, then you know you did well.

However, in some cases, they may simply tell you that they were impressed with your interview without offering you the job. If this is the case, it’s because they’re doing their due diligence. Despite your excellent performance in the interview, they may still want to review your resume further. Moreover, they may still have additional interviews scheduled with other candidates.

Does This Automatically Mean You Got The Job?

It’s not uncommon for interviewers to ask for the contact information of your current employer. In some cases, they Although the interviewer may be giving you some strong signals that you got the job, it’s important to remember that nothing is concrete until you’re offered the job. Just because the interview went well doesn’t automatically mean you’re the clear-cut choice for the position.

Why You Should Keep Looking For Other Jobs

Despite doing well, you should keep looking for other job opportunities. It’s always possible that you were one of the top choices, but that you’ll lose out to another candidate. Perhaps you were the best candidate up until your interview, but the employer interviewed someone else afterward that performed even better.

As such, it’s crucial that you don’t assume you’ve gotten the job and that you keep looking for other job opportunities.

    When To Follow Up

Be sure to follow up with the interviewer within a few days. You can either email or call them, but make sure that you’re polite and professional. In your email or phone call, reiterate your interest in the job and ask if there are any other steps you need to take in order to move forward in the hiring process.

If they don’t get back to you, it’s possible that they’re still considering other candidates or they may have simply forgotten to respond. In either case, you can follow up again a week or two later to see if there are any updates.

Pay Attention To More Than Just The Signs

Although these signs are good indicators that you might be offered a job, it’s essential to remember that there are other factors at play too. The interviewer may tell you that you’re a strong candidate but they still need to do some additional research or they may want to interview a few more people.

Don’t get discouraged if you don’t receive an offer right away. Sometimes, the hiring process can take a while. Instead, focus on yourself and keep applying for other jobs. Eventually, you’ll get the job offer that you’re hoping for.

How I got a job with a salary of 300,000 dollars in Silicon Valley It’s time to share the sequel, where we will talk about a more burning topic – about money and how to get more.

“Within a week, I was offered a position as a software engineer at Google, Facebook, Amazon, Apple, LinkedIn, and Yelp. Here’s how I interviewed them.

What if I told you… interviews aren’t as scary as they seem?

So, you are almost done with your long interview prep. You are almost free from the stress of interviews at large IT companies. You can almost imagine yourself sending them the final “I agree.”

However, you are still not quite on target.

There is one final hurdle to overcome: the interview itself.

You’ve proven time and time again that you can pass interviews, but how successful and profitable for yourself?

At the end of last year, I interviewed at 6 top Silicon Valley companies in 6 days and got 6 job offers. As a last task, I had to make sure that my work was not in vain. Here are the principles I followed, the rules I followed, and what I did to get a job that paid $100,000 a year more than I planned.

    Introduction

Let’s first agree on the initial premises:

    • Your potential may differ . Naturally, I do not claim that everything that I went through can be easily repeated by any other person. I’m just using this as an example to outline a few tips that I think every newcomer to the business should know.
    • You have offers, and more than one . There may be two or ten, but you definitely need to have more than one offer at the same time. I’ve negotiated to work on behalf of (many) friends in the past with no benefits, but I’m not going to dwell on that scenario.
    • You are not afraid to negotiate . On the eve of my interview at Google, I chatted with another candidate at the hotel where I was staying. His strategy was to be modest in order to increase his chances of success. This is not the path that I choose, and this is not a tactic that I would advocate, and I am not even going to take this option into account. You should always be open and ready for what you can achieve.
    • You will not use Illegal Holds. I have no doubt that you can pass the interview with false information. In terms of morality: hmm … come on. In terms of practice: if you are caught lying, it will definitely not help you.
    • You will not refuse the offer . Could I have squeezed a little more out of a possible offer that I might have accepted if I had one? May be. But personally, it would be inconvenient for me to accept an offer and then refuse it. I’m sure other candidates do this, and I don’t think you’re going to be boycotted in the Valley because of it. But that’s just not what I would want for you and for myself.
    • You are ready to work in any of the companies if the offered amount suits you. I definitely had a personal rating of those companies that I would prefer to others, but I gave everyone a chance. No one was particularly eager to make super-offers.
    • I will remain anonymous regarding the companies I negotiated with and their exact amounts. My goal is not to answer the question “how much will MegaCorp offer me if I have other offers?”. My goal is to answer the question “how do I properly get the most favorable working conditions?” for people who don’t know where to start. The amounts offered by the companies are presented accurately (with an error within 5%).
    • You start from scratch. I give in this article my personal experience and examples from some of the conversations in which I participated in interviews. I don’t have decades of experience with detailed instructions. At the end, I give some tips that are more suitable for beginners.

    Pre Interview

Congratulations! You have multiple interview invitations. I’m sure you’re nervous. I’m sure you’re telling yourself that you don’t deserve this and that you just got lucky. You think you’re going to fail miserably. The last thing on your mind is how exactly to talk to a recruiter.

Calm down. We all go through this!

This can be understood. But you don’t want to do yourself a disservice in the future. In any case, there are only a few things you need to remember.

My first important tip: don’t make this process adversarial .

I have read many authors who are very cynical about this.

This is our confrontation with them.

    Candidate versus recruiter.

So you’re trying to get the most out of the company while it’s trying to screw you over. Is that how you see it?

I guess you didn’t know that Google recruiters wear superhero capes during the duel?

False . Sometimes this may be true, but I think that such an attitude is far from a healthy negotiating atmosphere. I had a very good relationship with my recruiters and it paid off in the end. Perhaps it would have been better if I had been more aggressive or resorted to lies. I will never know how events would have developed under this alternative scenario. But I know I don’t regret it. I’m sure I can easily contact any of these recruiters again to restart the process. Recruiters are people too. Be kind!

As a next step, throughout the process, try to show that you have other suggestions. This is important to make sure they can provide similar terms. Once I happened to deal with a really great offer. I was forced to decline as their company refused to move the deadline. This deprived me of some advantages. But if I had not let everyone know about my situation, I would have lost even more.

It’s up to you if you want to tell where else you’re interviewing. I’d share this if you think it’s “impressive”. Keep in mind that in any case, you have a reason to be proud of yourself, wherever you are considered as a candidate. However, you will have more benefits if you have an offer from Google. My recruiters showed great respect in this matter. Companies understand that who exactly you are negotiating with is your own business, so they will only have the right to find out about it if you deem it appropriate. With that in mind, the threat of you getting (and accepting) an offer elsewhere is a powerful advantage in everything from negotiating terms to getting you the job.

    First offers

Well, the moment of truth has arrived. Now you will hear how much you appreciated.
All my recruiters preferred to relay this news over the phone. Almost all calls followed the same pattern:

Do you have new offers from other companies? Is there a certain range that you expect from us? How about about […] dollars? What do you think of it?

Almost all the authors you usually read write that it is wrong to designate a range. I generally agree with this, but sometimes it makes sense to at least indicate something. To do this properly requires some experience and knowledge of the conditions usually offered. I only gave a starting point to one or two companies, and only because I knew enough about them to assume that they would offer me about $50,000 less a year than other companies I had offers from.

I would never give a range for a company that usually offers large amounts. All things considered, I wouldn’t waste time with a recruiter if I knew they weren’t going to outbid an existing offer from another company. Recruiters themselves will not want to go around in circles and keep coming back to the same question, offering you new conditions. If they fall far short of what you need, let recruiters know where the range starts from . Wasting time on an uncompetitive offer is not profitable for anyone.

That said, if you’re dealing with a company with an infinite budget, use it wisely. Levels.fyi is the best resource I’ve ever seen (much better than Glassdoor) when it comes to learning what’s usually on offer. Aim as high as you can and never, ever think you can’t get an even better offer. Observe the situation and be prepared to adapt to it. I ended up getting much, much more than I ever expected from any company, and I owe a lot of that to the fact that I never mentally limited myself to a “high bar.”

Trust me, recruiters will do their best to offer you less. Don’t help them!

Never show that you are “dizzy” . Keep yourself in control, even if you are sure that you will accept the offer. This also applies in many respects to telephone conversations, especially if the conditions offered to you are beyond anything you ever expected, and you are probably not able to think sensibly. Always consider any offer for some time.

Make it clear that you will not accept the offer until you have negotiated with all . In my experience, recruiters were sympathetic to this. I let them know that I would like to first interview in all the companies from which I received offers. I definitely had a dream company throughout the process, but it wasn’t really anyone else’s business, it was my own.

I won’t suggest what to say in such situations. I will give here only my impressions. This should help those who don’t know where to start. Please don’t take this as a finished script (that would be weird and unnatural). However, this is what I would say in order to maintain an atmosphere of mutual respect and to remain open during negotiations. Let’s assume that you were offered conditions that you could agree to (that is, they suit you):

Recruiter: So what do you think about this?

You: This is an interesting proposal. I think it almost suits me, however I can’t agree to it right now. First, I need to find out what conditions are offered by other companies with which I am negotiating.

In the above, you are telling the recruiter that he “has a chance”, but it’s not enough to blow you away. You show respect and firmness at the same time. This is the basic strategy for how to behave during negotiations.

Don’t give out more information than you need, don’t be aggressive, and don’t give exact amounts if it’s not practical. Plus, all of the above allows you to stay honest, so you don’t have to worry about being caught lying. Basically, you’re just trying to maintain your status in the eyes of recruiters and avoid the fuss until you have all the offers to compare. That’s when the fun begins!

    Counter offers

So, you’ve heard the suggested amounts from everyone you’re considering. You can now make counteroffers based on the information you have. When I did this, I never gave the exact amount – I used the ranges . I don’t like the idea of an exact amount until the very end.

There are several reasons for this:

    • Firstly, the designation of the exact amount seems strange: why is $120,000 acceptable, but $119,000 is already a bit small? I’d rather label it as “ somewhere between $120,000 and $140,000″ . The company still has the opportunity to increase the amount if you do not reveal all your cards to them. Note that once you know the amount the company is offering, it makes sense to be more specific about your wishes.
    • From my point of view, if you designate a specific amount, it is understood that it is, as it were, “the only one”. If it suits the company, you are missing out on negotiating a much larger amount unless you get other offers. Remember: companies can afford to pay whatever amount you want, even if it’s the top of your range. If you put in a $5,000 range, don’t be surprised if companies meet your requirements and wait for your approval.

Some may object to what I have outlined above, because recruiters are able to be more flexible. You can always name the exact amount, get them to agree to it, and then ask for an increase. I don’t deny it. However, during interviews, I set myself the goal of maintaining a good relationship with recruiters, and in the end it paid off in full.

I certainly looked that cool during the negotiations.

My first counteroffers went something like this (I made up these amounts to give as an example):

Bar, Inc.: We offer you a base salary of approximately $120,000 with a $150,000 4-year shareholding and a one-time initial bonus of $10,000. What do you think of it?

Me: How flexible can your company’s share offering be? I would really like to stay and grow as a professional. In this regard, equity is exactly what interests me in any company. A base salary of around $120,000 is fine for me, but I would like a larger share offer.

FooCorp: We offer you a base salary of approximately $100,000 with a 4-year equity stake in the company of $150,000 and a one-time initial bonus of $10,000. What do you think of it?

Me: I think the base salary is a bit lower than I would like, especially considering the offer from Bar, Inc. $120,000 and the fact that the base salary is very important to me. As for the shareholding, I expected about $200,000. The primary premium is generally in line with my expectations.

The above is a lot of useful information for the recruiter, without any exact amount on your part. FooCorp understands they need to raise the amount to $120,000 to encourage you to refuse another offer you’ve been given. At Bar, we understand that equity is important to you, and shares are something that companies are much more willing to provide. Now you have two companies competing to give you a better offer, and they are not in contact with each other. And this is pretty much a welcome turn of events for you.

As soon as one of the companies increases the amount, it makes sense to change the indicated range. This is how this conversation went in my case:

Me: Good afternoon! I finally got a response from the Bar company. Their offer turned out to be much better than I expected. They offered a base salary of $150,000, $200,000 in stock, and $40,000 in primary bonus. However, it seems to me that working at FooCorp is more closely related to my interests, so I would very much like you and I to be able to work together. In this regard, I would like to find out if it is possible to improve your conditions to the same indicators?

FooCorp: Oh, they have a really good offer. Keep in mind that FooCorp {makes the world a better place/has amazing potential/greater future for your career} and I hope you don’t make decisions based on rewards alone. I don’t know yet if we can offer the same conditions, but I’ll see what we can do.

I have had many conversations in the above patterns, and they all went about the same way.

It seemed that they were always skeptical about the possibility of changing their amounts. They have always said that this is more than they can usually concede.
They always explained that the mission and atmosphere of their company made up for the difference in remuneration.

But almost always they increased the amount.

One of them will meet you. Someone – no. Some of them will come so close to your expectations that you will be able to make a final decision in order not to miss such an exciting opportunity. But you definitely should try.

    My suggestions

I’m adding the following because many have asked me about it. I don’t know how helpful this will be, but I’ll post it here anyway. I will give here all the advice I can give.

I was able to get an estimate from each company before I gave any on my end. All amounts here are under fictitious brands and in random order. Format: base salary + bonus / shareholding for 4 years / initial bonus.

    Alpha: 180K / 150K / 0K (218K/year)
    Bravo: 180K / 200K / 30K (238K/year)
    Charlie: 140K / 180K / 30K (193K/year)
    Delta: 160K / 220K / 50K (228K/year)
    Echo: 160K / 200K / 30K (218K/year
    Foxtrot: 165K / 210K / 30K (225K/year)

Curiously, the amounts were almost the same for the most part, despite the companies not being able to see each other’s initial offers. It must be the standard rate now… or something like that. In any case, after receiving all the proposals, it is time for me to constantly interact. I contacted the company that made the lowest bid, told them the terms of the best bid, and asked them to reduce the difference as much as possible. As soon as the amounts changed, I talked to other companies. Recruiters contacted me every day or every other day, and the calls went something like this:

Bravo: Are there any changes on your part?

Me: Yes, I was told preliminary amounts from Foxtrot. They’re offering $225,000 or so, but Delta says they can offer more. Foxtrot’s offer didn’t impress me, and given Delta’s position on it, it’s probably the last offer I’ll end up signing.

Bravo: Great, thanks a lot for sharing. I will talk to the team and see what I can do. We would love to work with you!

Alpha refused to negotiate and move the deadline, so they quickly dropped out of participation.

After each of the companies changed their initial amounts, the picture changed:

    Bravo: 180k / 220k / 75k (254k/year; +16k)
    Charlie: 140K / 200K / 30K (198K/year; +5K)
    Delta: 160K / 220K / 50K (228K/year; unchanged)
    Echo: 160K / 250K / 30K (230K/year; +12K)
    Foxtrot: 180 thousand / 240 thousand / 30 thousand (248 thousand/year; +18 thousand)

And again, all over again. I set myself the goal of weeding out some of the proposals as soon as the situation began to change in the direction I needed. A real strategic nightmare is to keep an eye on 6 competing companies. It also became clear that there was a difference that some companies were unable to overcome.

In addition, I had much more time to look at specifics related to corporate culture, benefits and other benefits, and in this aspect there were differences between companies.

I didn’t formally reject any of ‘s offers until I formally accepted the best one and signed the relevant contract, but I mentally crossed out a few companies and stopped negotiating with them. I just asked them for a few more days to make a decision.

Recruiters kept telling me they couldn’t offer better terms, but always did. I’m sure there is a “ceiling” and I’m sure it’s pretty rare to be able to negotiate more than a certain amount, however this was very much like a lie when I constantly heard they couldn’t offer more (“you don’t have experience ”), and then watched as they increased the offer by 10%. I guess it’s part of the business.

After another stage of negotiations (and a few more days), the number of companies was reduced to three:

    Bravo: 180 thousand / 250 thousand / 75 thousand (261 thousand / year + 23 thousand / year from the original)
    Delta: 170k / 250k / 50k (245k/yr; +17k/yr from original)
    Foxtrot: 180k / 250k / 50k (248k/yr; +18k/yr from original)

By now, it’s been about a week and a half of negotiation, and that’s after months of interviews/prep. I was already quite ready to finish. After comparing product, culture, pay, benefits, other benefits, and company reputation, I settled on a choice between Bravo and Delta.
Delta wanted me to come up with a final amount and stick to it. They were very insistent that I outlined it to them.

I asked them for a few hours and called my Bravo recruiter.
I explained that Bravo had something for which I valued them more than Delta, but that Delta wanted me to be clear about the amount in order to move on.

I was going to work for Bravo or Delta. They offered similar terms, but I didn’t know how much more I could get from Delta. It was very uncomfortable for me to play such a game.

Break up in case of emergency.

Everyone must someday make their final request for . The moment has come when you must take a decisive step, so use it wisely.

For me it was just that moment. Now is the time.

I have asked Bravo to improve the terms by increasing the holding by a modest $5,000 a year (a very modest request, it seems now. ..), companies are usually more flexible in this regard. I said that if they could do it, I would agree and be sure that I would not lose anything. He said that he would contact me and that we would definitely find a solution.

    Last offer

The Bravo recruiter responded by email saying he had a new deal for me and would like to discuss it with me over the phone. Then I already decided that if it would meet my request (180k / 270k / 70k, total 265k), I would immediately agree to this offer. I thought long and hard about this last move.

Bravo: I received a response and approval for a new proposal for you, and I would like to know what you think about it. We would like to offer you a {salary + annual bonus} of $180,000. In addition, we would like to offer $400,000 in shares to be given to you over 4 years. In addition, I also managed to get approval to provide you with 9$0,000 {initial premium + relocation allowance}. Under these terms, you will receive about $1,210,000 over 4 years, that is, about $300,000 annually . What do you think of it?

Wow! What I think? What do you think, what do I think?

    Me: Yes, I agree.

    Bravo: Really? Excellent!

And this is true. I am not exaggerating at all. My last request was $265,000 per year, and I was offered about $300,000 per year. I don’t know if it was because of the good relationship I had with the recruiter or if they were just worried that I might refuse. Whatever it is, I have nothing against it. 🙂

    Main findings

I’m going to summarize all of the above:

Bonus Tip : Never tell or imply to potential employers that you’re not interested in them. I have seen people “negotiate”, insisting on larger sums and justifying this by the fact that they are less interested in this company. It’s like a recipe for disaster – why tell a company you don’t want to work there? Find a different approach.

All of the above worked. The terms of the offer I eventually accepted was approximately $300,000 per year (for 4 years, including a variable annual bonus and an initial bonus/relocation fee). I negotiated this starting at about $225,000*, which is a 33% increase.

    Summing up

After my previous post, I see 3 questions most often:

    • How did I negotiate?
    • How much was offered to me?
    • Whose offer did I accept?

I have answered two of them here. You might be able to logically install the rest. I’d rather my advice be useful rather than advertising my employer. I don’t want all the attention here to be focused on the decision I made in of my life. I rather seek to help everyone else make the same decision.
There are also much deeper, more elaborate sources that I would recommend. This is an amazing article by Patrick McKenzie and another by Hasib Qureshi. Above, you have read only my personal thoughts (and at the same time the answer to all the questions that I received regarding the amounts).

Please follow me (and connect!) with me on Twitter if you’d like to leave feedback or have any questions. I would like to know if there are other topics that interest you. I have received a ton of private messages on Twitter and Discord and I have tried to reply to them where possible. I prefer to respond predominantly on Twitter, so if you want to chat, try it there first.

    Successful negotiations.

    * original offer did not include relocation reimbursement; I probably would have gotten it anyway, so the actual starting point for the total was probably higher.”

P.S. While browsing the App Store, our developers came across an interesting application for the Russian market, My Salary of Dreams. We liked the idea of assessing “what you are worth” and “what to tighten up” in several steps, although the project itself is still quite raw. We were unable to find an analogue on Google Play.

“If I got a job at 19, I can do better.” The story of a student from Biysk who left for Pisa

My name is Miron Puzanov, I am 20 years old. I was born and raised in Biysk, a city in the Altai Territory with almost 200,000 people. We have a very hot summer and minus 35 in winter. Biysk is a large industrial and scientific center of Southern Siberia, and the route to Gorno-Altaisk, Barnaul and Novosibirsk also passes through it.

I never had a dream of a specific profession, rather, I wanted to do what I like. So I tried a variety of hobbies and changed four schools.

In the ninth grade, I realized that after a regular school it would be difficult to enter a top university, but I wanted to develop. Therefore, I applied to four gymnasiums and a regional lyceum. Unexpectedly for myself, I went to the lyceum, where there was only a free place in a class with an in-depth study of computer science and physics. Since I did not pass the OGE in computer science, I had to study with a tutor all summer to pass the internal exam at the lyceum.

My main goal was to enter the budget. I didn’t prepare very hard for the exam – I decided that I would pass it as well. My points allowed me to go to the budget at the Russian State University. Kosygin – to the Faculty of Computational Informatics and Engineering.

At first I was upset, and then I realized that there are many advantages in learning. I knew how to program, so I easily coped with the first year program. Plus, I had free time.

My friend and I wanted to learn new things, so we decided to open a student scientific and educational IT club. A year later, we were recognized as the most active university club: we had more than 100 members. Later, I ended up in the student council, from which I traveled to various events.

In my first year, I applied to the Sberseasons program (an internship for students in the field of IT, law, economics and finance. – Note), although they only accept undergraduates. I passed all the tests, several interviews, but they did not take me, offering to return in a couple of years. In addition, I constantly went to events at Yandex, Mail.ru Group – to feel the atmosphere.

In my second year, I heard about the ambassadorship program of the educational department of Mail.Ru. The program allows you to represent a corporation at your university, improve Soft Skills, communicate with company managers and get an internship or project. The selection lasted six months: I took tests, went to interviews. I know that there were about 3,000 applicants, of which 70 people were selected.

Speaking at an event in front of students

How ambassadorship helped me develop soft skills

Thanks to my ambassadorship and Mail.ru, I was able to invite great speakers to the student club. For example, Igor Fedorov, who got a job at VKontakte at the age of 18 without a programmer diploma. The Ambassador program helped me develop my communication skills: I talked a lot with people, spoke, learned how to present myself and products. In a month I participated in 2-5 events, sometimes helping others. The program has a strong community of alumni who help each other. I can safely go to any city where they will accept me. Back with the club in 2020, we assembled a team and took one of the prizes at TravelHack.

The Ambassador program lasts nine months and ends with a hackathon or case championship where company employees offer to solve problems. If you like your solution, it will be taken for implementation, and you will be called to practice. This is an internal event specifically for ambassadors, which allows you to quickly get into the company. I went the other way and applied for an open vacancy for an assistant manager of educational projects.

Our victory at the hackathon from VKontakte

How I started working at the age of 19 and why I decided to leave the university

I worked as an assistant education project manager in the education research department and was the youngest in the department. Our department searched for and trained talented students, made training programs with Russian universities, and organized events. Mail.ru has a young team, as graduates-ambassadors are often hired there. The company as a whole is interested in young employees: they have flexible thinking, they are easy to learn “for themselves”.

I combined study and work: at first I was hired for 30 hours, and at the end of the second course, for 40 hours. At the same time, I grew within the company: I had more responsibilities, my own area of responsibility and projects.

Salary level cannot be disclosed due to NDA. At that time I lived in a hostel, my parents gave me some pocket money, plus, thanks to the club, I had an increased scholarship. I can only say that for a student it was a good level of income. But a high salary was not an end in itself: I was ready to work for free, for the sake of experience. It is more important for me to do what is interesting. I think that students should not have the goal of getting a lot of money at once: the higher the salary, the higher the responsibility. It is more important to understand the end goal and how you will grow.

At some point, I realized that it was time to move on. I decided to leave the university, as it slowed down growth at work and in personal projects, did not give me what I expected. Plus, study required attention and time. I liked everything in Mail.ru Group and I had a rough idea of what position I could take. I understood that if I got a job in a large company without a degree at 19, I could achieve other successes.

In parallel with my work, my friends and I had a small web studio. I thought: why not do the same in Europe? Especially since I had friends there.

Speech at the Knowledge Day event

Why digital is better developed in Russia than in Europe

Now I am in Italy: it is beautiful here, the climate is pleasant, besides, my friends lived here. The company is legally registered in Europe, so I received an invitation and am in Pisa on a work visa.

Our team consists of six people: marketers, designers, developers. We are in touch remotely, because we live in different cities – London, Milan, St. Petersburg, Moscow. I sometimes meet colleagues from Milan and Pisa.

We have orders from both Russia and Europe. We create custom-made digital solutions: from corporate identity to design in any form. We usually process 4-5 orders within two months. Since we have limited resources, we do not promote ourselves much, and orders come through word of mouth.

In Europe, everything is not as good with digital as in Russia. I think it has to do with several things.

Firstly, there are more services in Russia that work throughout the country — online banks, the Federal Tax Service, State Services, an electronic appointment with a doctor, and more. In Europe, services are more local: they can only work in a specific region – there is no such story about scaling. For example, in Italy documents are sent only by mail, while in Russia you can easily send a scan. Therefore, sites are weak and often look like they were laid out on the knee at 90’s. Not all companies have websites at all.

Second, there are more people in Russia who are tech-savvy.

Thirdly, in Europe the Internet is slow and expensive, and one can only dream of having Wi-Fi in the subway or other transport. People lead a more relaxed lifestyle: they walk, sit in cafes.

    Local beach

A bit about life in Pisa

I flew to Italy on the third of September and spent another 10 days in quarantine, so I don’t have many impressions yet. Now I run to different authorities and draw up documents. For example, I needed to be vaccinated, since the Russian vaccine is not recognized in Italy. And without a vaccination, you cannot move around – everywhere they ask for the so-called Green Pass.

I was looking for an apartment with the help of friends and local sites that are similar to CYAN – immobiliare.

page on the subject of literary reading for grade 2. Answers to tasks: 1, 2, 3 and 1, 2, 3.

    Tutorial Part 1 – Page 79.

    2021 answers.

    Number 1.

Have you ever watched autumn leaves fall from trees? Tell. Compare your impressions with those of M. Prishvin.

Yes, I often watch autumn leaves fall. I especially like to look at the leaf fall in the park, where there are many different trees. At such moments, it seems that some unknown artist took a brush in his hands and painted the leaves in different colors: yellow, green, red, crimson, brown. M. Prishvin describes his impressions more colorfully, poetically. The writer pays attention to details that I didn’t even notice.

    Number 2.

What autumn morning did the writer help you see? Draw a word picture.

The writer helped me see the early cool morning on the river bank. The leaves fall from the trees, they are carried away by the wind along with migratory birds. The sun is slowly rising, the day is likely to be warm. But these are the last good days. Cold autumn is coming soon.

    Number 3.

Discuss with a friend. What unites the story of M. Prishvin with the poems of Russian poets?

The story of M. Prishvin and the poems of Russian poets are united by the common theme of the work – the theme of nature. The authors are able to admire and admire the beauty of autumn. They know how to convey the autumn mood, to notice important details.

    I. Bunin
    ***
Today it’s so light all around,
    Such dead silence
In the forest and in the blue sky,
What is possible in this silence
Hear the rustle of a leaf.

    Number 1.

How does the poet talk about silence?

The poet speaks of silence, that it is “dead silence”, in which one can “hear the rustle of a leaf”. In these words of I. Bunin, tenderness and awe are felt.

    Number 2.

Is it possible to draw one picture for these two works? What would you draw on it?

One picture can be painted for these two works. I would draw a river bank with many trees growing on it. The ground is covered with yellow-red leaves. Blue sky.

    Number 3.

Make your own short story on the theme “Morning in the autumn forest”, using key words: quietly, not a breeze, leaves are falling, birds are flying away .

It is quiet in the autumn forest in the morning. Yellowed leaves fall from the trees. The air is motionless: no breeze, no whiff. Not a soul around. Only migratory birds circle and fly up.

Think about which side the author’s sympathy is on. How can we understand this? Discuss with a friend.

The author’s sympathies are on the side of the old man. The author likes in him kindness, modesty and disinterestedness. This can be seen by the way he affectionately calls the old man and indicates his meek disposition.

    Number 3.

Can the fish be called grateful, fair, kind ?

Rybka can really be called grateful, fair, kind. She wanted to thank the old man for the gift of life, so she helped him. The fish is fair, because she punished the old woman for her greed.

    Number 4.

Compare the beginning and end of the fairy tale.

Both at the beginning and at the end of the tale, the old woman sits by the broken trough.

    Number 5.

What is the main idea of the tale? Match it with proverbs. Which expression from the fairy tale is often used?

The main idea of A.S. Pushkin – be content with what you have; be grateful to the one who did you good.

The main idea corresponds to the following proverbs:
“Whoever is not satisfied with little, he is not worthy of more.”
“If you want a lot, you will lose the last.”
    “The insatiable is not enough.”

From a fairy tale, the expression “to be left with nothing” is often used.

    Number 6.

Watch how the sea gradually changed: the sea flared up a little; the blue sea was clouded; not calm blue sea; blackened the blue sea; black storm at sea . Why did this happen?

With each new desire of the old woman, the sea raged more and more, a storm rose, the water changed color. So the sea element reacted to the greed of the old woman.

    Number 7.

What was in the fairy tale first, what – then? Make a plan based on the text. Retell.

    Plan:
    1. The old man caught a goldfish, but took pity on it and let it go.
    2. The old woman sends him back to ask the fish for a trough.
    3. The old woman wants a new hut. The wish is fulfilled.
    4. The old woman wants to become a pillar noblewoman. The fish grants a wish.
    5. The old woman wants to become a free queen. The wish is fulfilled.
    6. The old woman wants to become the mistress of the sea.
    7. The old man goes to the fish, but she does not answer.
    8. The old woman remains with nothing.

    Retelling:
Near the blue sea stood an old dugout in which an old man and an old woman lived. The wife spun yarn, and her husband fished with a net. So they would have lived if one day the old man had not caught a goldfish. Rybka promised to fulfill any wish if the old man let her go. However, the old man took pity on the goldfish and let it go just like that.
The old man told his wife what had happened. The dissatisfied old woman told him to go to the sea again to ask the fish for a new trough. The wish came true. The next time the old woman asked for a new hut. The old one was not enough. She was both a pillar noblewoman and a free queen, but she wanted to become the mistress of the sea. The old man went to ask for a fish again, but the fish did not answer him. When he returned home, he saw an old woman with a broken trough.

    Number 8.

Remember how folk tales usually end. What do they have in common with the fairy tales of A.S. Pushkin? Write an answer using the key words from the Workbook.

Folk tales always end with good triumphing over evil. In the fairy tales of A.S. Pushkin also happens.

Pushkin’s fairy tales have different endings. For example, in “The Tale of the Golden Cockerel”:
“The tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it!
    Good fellows lesson.

“The Tale of the Dead Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs” and “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” end with the following lines:
“I was there, honey, drinking beer,
Yes, he just wet his mustache. ”

Folk tales also end in different ways: “that’s how it has been since then, they began to live, live and make good” (“The White Duck”, “Ivan Tsarevich and the Gray Wolf”, “The Sea King and Vasilisa the Wise”), “there is an end to the fairy tale, and whoever listened – well done!” (“Masha and the Bear”, “Morozko”, “Kolobok”), “an honest feast and for the wedding” (“Sivka-burka”).

    Number 9.

Think of a short story, the meaning of which could be expressed by the words “Greed is the beginning of every grief.”

Sveta and Masha were walking on the street. They saw a big apple tree. Masha said that she would climb a branch and pick one apple for them. The girl climbed a tree. But then she said to her friend: “I will climb higher to pick more apples.

Forty years without forgiveness Florida authorities posthumously pardoned Jim Morrison The decision was taken by the pardon committee unanimously.

Fans of the musician, who died in 1971 without having time to appeal the verdict, sought his rehabilitation for many years.

65-minute concert in Miami March 1, 19’69 was the most controversial performance of The Doors’ career. Despite the fact that by this time Morrison had somewhat departed from his former image of a troublemaker (he had grown fat, let his beard grow, and he began to dress much less provocatively than before), at the end of the concert, the singer was charged with a dozen charges: from performing while drunk to inciting to unrest.

Among other things, profanity and obscene exposure appeared – Morrison allegedly showed his genitals to 12 thousand spectators. On these two counts, the musician was soon sentenced to six months in prison.

Meanwhile, it has not been possible to establish for certain how things happened in the more than forty years that have passed since March 1, 1969. Only one thing can be said for sure: on the day of the concert, Morrison was drunk in the smoke. He apparently drank all day, almost missed the last plane to Miami, and, according to The Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, continued to drink when he got to the concert venue.

The Doors, formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, were one of the most influential American rock bands 1960s. According to the RIAA, the band has sold over 32 million records in the US alone. Up to 100 million The Doors records have been sold worldwide. The band’s frontman and lyricist, Jim Morrison, has been repeatedly recognized as one of the greatest rock vocalists of our time. After Morrison’s death in 1971, the band survived for another two years and has since been resurrected several times to tour with guest vocalists.

The concert, by the way, took place in a converted hangar, without ventilation, in a terrible stuffiness. In addition, in order to sell more tickets, the organizers removed the seats. As a result, 12 thousand crowded into the hall, designed for 7 thousand people. It is not difficult to imagine in what frenzy the performance took place. At some point, Morrison tore off the cap from one of the guards0013 police officers, and threw her into the hall. In response, the law enforcement officer did the same with Morrison’s hat.

Insults to the audience also took place – however, the drunken Morrison alternately confessed his love to the audience, then called the audience “… ny idiots.” The hall, in turn, reacted with equal enthusiasm to declarations of love and insults. The wrath of the frontman did not escape the musicians of The Doors. Here, for example, you can listen to how Morrison, not embarrassed in expressions, yells at colleagues, suddenly interrupting the performance of the song “Touch Me”.

However, Morrison did not deny the accusations of foul language – and it would be stupid, considering how well everything he said into the microphone is documented. However, the singer insisted that there was no indecent behavior (and exposure). Moreover, the testimonies of witnesses were also not unambiguous: someone claimed that he really had the opportunity to see the causal place of Jim Morrison, and someone, on the contrary, said that there was nothing like that even close.

Photographs of the concert were plentiful, but so far no photographs are known to confirm the public exposure or any other of the obscene acts attributed to Morrison. For example, according to The Doors road manager Vince Treanor, Jim Morrison simply took off his T-shirt after one of the fans burst onto the stage and doused the vocalist from head to toe with champagne. True, Treanor said that at the same time Morrison urged the audience to follow his example, and the audience obediently followed.

Anyway, four days after the speech, the court issued a warrant for Morrison’s arrest. Prosecutors were rumored to be offering a deal: in exchange for not going to trial, The Doors were to perform for free in Miami. However, this proposal did not suit the group, and in the summer of 1970 Jim Morrison was sentenced to prison and a fine of $500.

The musician demanded to appeal the verdict, and he was released on bail of 50 thousand dollars. However, the appeal did not manage to reach the court of higher instance: on July 3, 1971 years old Jim Morrison at the age of 27 died in Paris of a heart attack (although there is a version that the cause of death was a heroin overdose).

Since then, the Morrison case has not been closed: the Florida judicial system for 40 years could not decide what to do with the deceased violator, who, due to objective circumstances, could not get an appeal against his sentence. All this time, fans of The Doors unsuccessfully urged the leadership of the state to simply pardon Morrison – albeit posthumously.

For the first time, Florida authorities listened to these appeals only in 2007, when Republican Charlie Crist, known as a fan of The Doors, became governor of the state. However, Christ decided to move from words to deeds only at the end of 2010, two months before the expiration of his term as governor.

Charlie Crist’s pardon coincided with the singer’s birthday: on December 8, Jim Morrison would have turned 67 years old. On the eve of the governor said that the death deprived the musician of the right to appeal the verdict, which is guaranteed to every American by the constitution. And to understand whether Morrison is guilty or not, instructed higher powers. “In this case, it’s up to God to decide,” Christ said.

It is not entirely clear what prevented the authorities of Florida, where, by the way, Jim Morrison was born in 1943, from making this decision ten, twenty or thirty years ago. Apparently, Charlie Crist was the first governor in 40 years who was able to admit that the musician may have been innocent. In an interview, Krist did not rule out that the authorities could not give way to Morrison’s testimony on principle – then the confrontation between bureaucracy and long-haired youth was too strong.

However, even now there are those who condemned the governor’s decision. In particular, retired Miami police officers urged the commission to refuse the pardon in order to “not set a wrong example” of today’s youth. Many fans of The Doors, for their part, have already called the decision to pardon Morrison historic.

And for those who want to decide for themselves whether there was anything out of the ordinary in Morrison’s behavior during the concert in Miami, we recommend listening to the recording of the final song. “Light My Fire” was extended by the musicians for 12 minutes, during which Morrison managed to conduct the audience and make many extremely curious comments. The recording, by the way, posted by user RobertAlanKrieger (Robbie Krieger – guitarist of The Doors) and is accompanied by a fairly detailed account of what happened in the Dinner Key Auditorium on March 1, 1969 years old.
