This is our second year here and we couldn’t be more pleased. There is so much love and pure joy shown to these children. We parents are treated with so much respect and kindness. There is constant information flowing between the staff and parents. Our little fellow cannot wait for school each day and is looking forward to Kindergarten in the Fall. We felt he would continue to grow as he’s grown the last two years. Public Kindergarten was a big unknown so we opted for him to stay at Great Bridge Preschool!!! He’s already learned so much!! We thank Ms. Shannon and Ms. Sharon for a wonderful year!!!!

Recommendations of dentists what is better to choose

Modern dentistry is capable of much. And even a missing tooth is not a sentence for the aesthetics of a smile and the functionality of the chewing apparatus. Fitting a denture solves the problem. Moreover, the patient can choose the most suitable solution for himself, focusing on the price, recommendations of the dentist and other factors. There are plenty to choose from: bridges, implants – each of these solutions has its own characteristics and disadvantages, which must be taken into account when choosing. This article will discuss the two most popular methods of prosthetics – bridges and implants.

The statistics are disappointing: bad ecology, bad habits, malnutrition, heredity lead to the fact that about half of Russians lose at least one tooth by the age of 30. Implantation allows you to correct the problem: regardless of whether you have lost a chewing tooth or an anterior tooth, the right method of implantation will solve the problem.

Bridges: indications for prosthetics, advantages and disadvantages

A bridge, also known as a crown, is an artificial element that replaces a partially lost or completely missing human tooth. A bridge is designed to restore the visible part of a lost tooth. If a tooth has been lost, its socket will remain empty. This does not interfere with chewing food, but the load during chewing is redistributed to neighboring teeth, which can adversely affect their condition: abutment teeth that are subject to heavy load may begin to collapse.

  1. If the tooth has a healthy root, a good dentist will offer to remove the nerve, heal the tooth and close it with a standard single crown.
  1. If there is no tooth or root, a bridge is preferred. The disadvantage of this option is that the teeth on the sides of the missing one will have to be turned – they will serve as a support for the bridge.

As for materials, today crowns are made of metal, ceramic, cermet, zirconium, composite. If the low cost of prosthetics is fundamental for you, choose metal constructions – they are reliable, inexpensive, but at the same time they have an ugly appearance, suitable for replacing teeth that are not included in the smile zone. From ceramics and cermets, modern specialists are able to make artificial teeth that do not differ at all from real ones. Bridges made of composite and zirconium materials are considered the most preferable – prostheses are light and reliable.

The advantages of crowns include the relative painlessness and simplicity of the prosthetics procedure – 1-2 weeks pass between the moment the impressions are taken and the crown is installed.

There are also disadvantages. Dentures are not too cheap (the final price is determined by the chosen material), there is a risk of chipping the outer layer. In addition, if a crown is placed on a problematic tooth, over time, this tooth may continue to decay, the crown may fall off, while adjacent teeth are also destroyed.

Dental implants: indications for prosthetics, advantages and disadvantages

More and more popular method of prosthetics today are dental implants . Implantation is the only method of prosthetics that allows you to create a complete tooth, including its root, neck, and supragingival part. As a result, the patient receives a high-quality, reliable artificial tooth that does not differ from the real one either in appearance or in functionality. Just like with native teeth, the chewing load from implants is transferred to the jawbone, which maintains an adequate metabolism in it, eliminating the risk of thinning over time.

Depending on the post design, the implants are:

  • root-shaped. The pin is cylindrical, with a carving;
  • lamellar. The pin is represented by a flat plate with a hole. The best option for replacing the anterior incisors, since in this area the gum is the narrowest, despite the fact that the anterior teeth experience a high load when biting;
  • mini implants. Due to the smaller size, minimal trauma is expected. Suitable for loss of one tooth;
  • subperiosteal. The basis is a lamellar bracket, which the dentist installs in the periosteum on both sides. This method is chosen for large-scale prosthetics of the jaw.

The duration of the implant procedure may vary. This can be instant implantation, when the tooth root is removed and a pin is immediately inserted into the opened hole, abutments and a temporary crown are mounted on it, and a permanent crown is placed a week later. The standard procedure includes 4 stages: a pin is implanted, a gum shaper is placed, an abutment and a temporary crown are mounted, and a permanent prosthesis is installed. Also, implantation can be complicated by a preliminary sinus lift.

Fixed dentures have a lot of advantages. Firstly, they are durable: if the pin has taken root, it will serve you all your life. High quality crowns are visually indistinguishable from natural teeth. Zirconia crowns do not darken, are not at risk of chipping the enamel.

There are also disadvantages. The main disadvantage of installing implants is the invasiveness and pain of the procedure. In addition, prosthetics take quite a long time – between the stages of tooth extraction, pin installation, and then crowns, it can take from several weeks to several months until the wounds heal. Finally, the cost of implantation is high – it is the most expensive of all prosthetic methods.

Should I choose a bridge or an implant?

Dental clinics in Moscow are equipped with modern equipment, they employ experienced specialists who are able to correct any problem with the teeth in the chosen way. This makes it possible to provide an individual approach to each patient, suggesting the use of the type of prosthesis that is most appropriate in a particular case.

Generally speaking, both methods of prosthetics described above differ in many factors – cost, strength, durability, reliability, degree of trauma of the procedure. The final word should be left to an experienced prosthetist: the doctor makes a decision after studying the computer images of MRI and CT, assessing the anatomical features of the structure of the jaw, the location of the lost tooth, bite, and so on.

Of course, the doctor must explain to the patient why in his case it is better to choose a particular method of prosthetics.

In short, a bridge is worth choosing when speed of restoration of the dentition is fundamental to you. In all other cases, implants win. But first things first – let’s evaluate the most important selection criteria and compare the two options for prosthetics:

  1. Soreness . Of course, the procedure for installing an implant gives the patient more discomfort and pain. The installation of the bridge can be carried out even without anesthesia, if the gum is damaged to the point of bleeding, then only in the area of the dental units being ground. Implantation is not only painful, but also dangerous, so if you prefer this type of prosthetics, choose an experienced, competent doctor with an impeccable reputation who can eliminate the risk of infection in wide tissue incisions.
  1. Damage to adjacent teeth . The main disadvantage of installing dental bridges is the need to affect adjacent teeth: they have to be ground, which leads to a violation of integrity, and further increases the risk of their destruction. If the teeth on the sides of the missing one are absolutely healthy, injuring them by turning is not the best solution. As for the implant, there is no such problem here: the doctor works only with the area where the tooth is missing, without affecting the neighboring ones.
  1. Durability . Implants also win here. If the bridge is made of high-quality material, correctly installed will serve you for 5-10 years, then the pin on which the implant is installed will last you a lifetime: only crowns change, about once every 10 years. At the same time, the procedure for replacing crowns is as fast as possible, comfortable and painless for the patient.

In general, if you want to restore a tooth and not spend a lot of time on this problem, it is better to choose an implant: you should endure the inconvenience of the procedure once, and you will be able to enjoy the fruits of the dentist’s work for the rest of your life.

If 4 anterior or 3 posterior teeth are lost, one solution is to insert a dental bridge. A popular method of prosthetics will solve practical and aesthetic problems. With its help, the chewing function is completely restored. The prosthesis does not change the taste and temperature of food. It is as similar as possible to natural teeth, it is easy to get used to it.

What are dental bridges? The middle zone is an artificial unit. Lateral positions are intended for crowns fixed on existing teeth or other supports. We install classic dental bridges: the supporting teeth are completely covered with crowns.

Materials used

In Studio 32 dentistry, you can put the following types of bridges on your teeth: metal, ceramic-metal, zirconia. All of them have their own characteristics.

Metal.

Various metals serve as raw materials. Solid dentures are more durable. They are able to withstand an increased load, have a long service life and a special form accuracy that repeats the anatomical features of the dentition. They are convenient to use, and they are inexpensive, if you do not include precious metals in the composition of the alloy.

Porcelain-fused-to-metal: more aesthetically pleasing and indistinguishable from natural teeth.

Strong metal frame gives the structure a high level of strength. It can last for quite a long time without losing its shape and shade, similar to the natural tone of tooth enamel.

Zirconia: This super-strong alloy is 2 times harder than real teeth.

Durable wear-resistant material offers a number of advantages. Dental products last at least 15 years. The dental bridge of the molars precisely adheres to the gums, protecting them from damage and preventing food from getting under the prosthesis. A zirconia dental bridge is recommended for patients who are allergic to other materials. At the Studio 32 Stomatology clinic, it is possible to install a bridge on the chewing and front teeth, both entirely from zirconium dioxide, and with a ceramic coating.

Dentistry “Studio 32” offers such a service as the installation of removable and conditionally removable bridges on implants. The solution is used to restore a large number of teeth or in their absence. An acrylic base is fixed on a metal base, which plays the role of artificial gums, on which crowns are placed. The design can be removed several times a month for hygiene procedures.

This daycare is amazing. They have been nothing but professional and courteous to me and my children. I hate to admit this, but I have one of those kids. A 4 year old who just doesn’t listen. They have worked with her so much, and she does seem to be improving. Their willingness to pull me to the side and speak to me about my child’s behavior has been very encouraging as I am losing hope for the child.

This is the nicest day care my children have ever attended, and they let me know often how much they love not only the school, but the teachers as well.

FREE coloring pages toys that are absolutely tops

Vanessa Buccieri / Unsplash

Sometimes kids need a different outlet for their energy. They threw the ball into a small basketball hoop a million times and gave a million fives each time. They ran out of batteries in the Little People’s barn. And yes, they bored you too. So why not hand out coloring pages? Sure, you can buy a coloring book at any Target or Dollar Tree store in America, but if you want something really original, sometimes the Internet is your only option. That’s where we’re coming in! If your budding artist’s interests are broad (or they’re too young to have full-on obsessions about anything other than mom), the next collection of coloring toys is perfect. Why? Well, they are filled with all the toys your cutie can find in her toy box. They are familiar, but in a different, two-dimensional perspective.

In addition, coloring offers many opportunities for skill development. Exercise in staying put and staying in line teaches them both body control and hand-eye coordination. Your baby will need this when he goes to kindergarten. And don’t worry; we have coloring pages for just about any interest a child might be interested in, from cute puppy coloring pages to scary shark coloring pages. Does your child love Fiona the Hippo? We have coloring pages with hippos. Are they interested in agriculture like their great-grandfather? Then they will surely enjoy our farm coloring pages, tractor coloring pages, and even garden coloring pages.

So grab your pencils, sit down at your desk and get to work. We’ve even included some information on why some of these toys are especially beneficial for your child’s development. Have fun!

It’s all about fun for the kids, but the soccer ball is especially important. Research has shown that teaching our children about sports can have significant health benefits. In addition, regular physical activity and time spent outdoors have been shown to reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem.

Did you know that even babies can enjoy balloons? By loosely tying the balloon to an infant’s leg or arm, it gives him the ability to observe and track, which helps him train hand-eye coordination at an early age. Education experts recommend that your child read (and/or have them read to themselves) for at least 15 minutes a day. Reading can reduce stress and fight depression. Another pro? Reading books about people who live differently than we do helps teach empathy. And, of course, it helps children grow and develop, as well as expand their vocabulary. Go ahead and start vocabulary growth by letting your little one know that the word “toy” comes from the old English word for “tool”. So, toys are basically tools for entertainment!

Another great way to help your child learn empathy? We play with dolls! Most doll play begins when children learn to imitate the life around them. Toddlers will feed, dress or soothe their children. Older children can process what they see on TV or hear at school by acting out scenarios with their dolls. As they go through these scenarios, they process feelings. Then, of course, they can move on to dolls like Barbie, where they can see her take on various roles – from doctor to Olympic football player to zoologist – proving there are no limits in life.

Blocks and puzzles teach spatial thinking. They also help in hand-eye coordination. It’s pretty cool, but did you know that drumming can also be good for your child’s development? Drumming can improve hand-eye coordination and help your toddler learn to control impulses as he learns to tap the beat instead of just thumping haphazardly.

Flying kites seems like such a quiet, easy activity, and it is! But there is much to learn from kites. For example, following a kite in the sky stimulates and trains the eyesight. Similarly, the work you put into flying a kite can be a great gentle exercise for your back, neck and shoulders. No wonder kite flying is so popular. In fact, over 50 million kites are sold per year. And while you’re likely to see a few kites in the air when visiting popular kite-flying spots like the beach, you probably won’t see 11,284 kites in a row – the most kites flown together to date.

23 Good Pets for Teenager to Consider

Inside: 23 Good Pets for Teenager to Consider.

Whether it was a family pet or one that I “owned,” I was never without a pet growing up. Having a small pet and caring for it throughout your childhood adds a special dimension to your development.

There are a few things to think about before giving in to your teen’s repeated requests for a new pet or companion.

Since they are no longer kids, your teenagers can take on more pet care responsibilities. What, then, are some of the top pets for teenagers?

As a teen, you can choose from a wide variety of dog breeds, cats, and lizards that make excellent pets. Any teen would be capable of caring for and maintaining any of these pets, even if they have specific needs.

Take a look at our list of 23 recommended pets for teenagers, as well as some things to think about before letting your teen take on the responsibility of a new pet.

Best Pets for Teens

1. Cats:  A cat is a popular pet all over the globe. Fluffy and cute, these critters make fantastic pets. They require less maintenance than dogs but are still a significant commitment. Your options for keeping your cat indoors or letting it roam freely are limited only by your willingness to install a cat flap.

2. Birds: Most birds don’t require a lot of attention or space, making them a great choice for first-time pet owners. Parakeets, for instance, are extremely sociable birds that get along great with people of all ages, including teenagers.

3. Fish: It’s exciting to set up your first aquarium, however it can also be quite intimidating. One of the most crucial choices is selecting the fish that will thrive in your aquarium given the other variables you’ll need to take into account, such as water tank, location, filter, lighting, and water pH. Some species of fish are better suited to a beginner’s care than others. Learn about some of the best fish to keep if you’re a teenager, as well as some basic care instructions.

4. Rabbit:  Rabbits are intelligent and social animals that, if left bored, may become destructive. According to the House Rabbit Society, bunnies have a strong desire to chew on things, so you’ll need to do a lot of bunny-proofing if you want to let your bunny run around the house.

Considerations:  Young children may have a hard time understanding that rabbits, like cats, can be a little different and that some of them don’t like to be carried around.

Good Pets for Teenager (Dog Breeds)

I think we can all agree that dogs are the best. While it’s true that dogs require the most upkeep, once you understand what you’re getting into, dog ownership is truly rewarding.

Taking into account a dog’s breed and temperament, the amount of exercise and space they will require, and whether or not this is the perfect time for one to join your household can help you reduce the amount of maintenance they require. This is a significant time and effort investment that will pay off nicely.

Here are a few great breeds for kids and teens…

5. Jack Russell Terrier

6. Labrador Retriever

7. Pug

8. Border Collie

9. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

10. Poodle

Reptiles That Make Great Pets for Teens

When considering the best pets for teenagers, reptiles are a great choice. It’s possible that a reptile would be an excellent pet for a teen who isn’t interested in spending a lot of time being physically active outside or who lacks the time or energy to properly care for a new dog.

11. Geckos:  Your teen, depending on their taste in reptiles, can pick from a wide variety of geckos. There isn’t much variation among geckos with regard to care requirements and nutritional needs. They can make fantastic pets.

12. Turtles:  Teens can learn a lot about caring for animals from their pet turtle, which can live for 15 to 25 years. A small reptile, like a turtle, could be a great addition to your teen’s life if they prefer to keep their pet close and don’t want to worry about taking it for walks or to the bathroom.

13. Snakes:  Several species of snakes are ideal for teens because of how easy they are to care for on a daily basis. It’s true that not all parents or teenagers are enthusiastic about having a snake as a pet, but there are many advantages to having one.

14. Frog: For novice pet owners, keeping frogs presents a fantastic learning opportunity. These fish-like creatures are low-maintenance, visually striking, and less expensive as pets than most other types of reptiles. It takes a different set of skills in frog domestication and a variety of diets to care for various species of frog.

When starting out, it’s crucial to select a species that’s right for you.

When it comes to cost and maintenance, not all frogs are created equal, so do some research before committing.

15. Tortoise: The care of a tortoise may be more appealing to some teens than that of a snake. Russian tortoises are known for their placid nature, slow pace, and quiet demeanor, and their long lifespan.

Teen Pet Ideas (Rodents)

16. Guinea Pig:  If your teen is dedicated and has the time to give a guinea pig the care it needs, having one as a pet can be rewarding for both of you. A guinea pig, given the right environment and care, has an expected lifespan of 8 years.

17. Hamster:  In spite of their high energy levels and voracious appetites, owners of these furry companions should keep in mind that their lifespans average only two years. Your teenager will be able to take on more responsibility and play with this cute rodent.

18. Mouse:  Mice are fast and jumpy, but they can become friendly pets with consistent handling. Many mice get used to eating out of their caregiver’s hand. The typical lifespan is between one and three years. Females thrive in same-sex pairs or small groups, but males often engage in violent conflict with one another.

19. Rats:  Your teen will enjoy having a rat as a pet because rats are very sociable and require little attention. If well-cared for, your teen’s pet rat could live for two to three years.

Unique Pets for 13-Year-Olds

20. Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches: Insects continue to be utterly fascinating. This is the pinnacle of low-maintenance pets, making them a decent choice for young teenagers. They are large enough to be handled and generally quite docile, but they make no attempt to get anyone’s attention.

21. Chinchilla:  Night owls like chinchillas make excellent pets due to their low maintenance requirements, quietness, lack of odor, and gorgeous fur. When raised with human contact and affection, they develop into docile pets.

22. Hedgehog:  The hedgehog is a remarkable animal and an interesting pet. With a diet that consists mainly of insects, they require little care. The hedgehog’s diet can benefit from the addition of fruits, vegetables, and even pet food. Hedgehogs make great pets if you find one that fits these criteria: early age, good health, and tame.

23. Scorpion:  Scorpions are low-key, tidy, and require little upkeep. Most pet scorpions are relatively harmless.

All About Budgerigars | PetMD

By Vanessa Voltolina

If you’ve ever marveled at a small, colorful, talkative pet bird, chances are it’s a budgerigar. Budgerigars, also known as parakeets or “budgies,” are the most popular type of caged parakeet. They tend to be very friendly, talkative birds, said Dr. Alicia McLaughlin, DVM, associate veterinarian at the Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine in Bothell, WA. Unsure of what’s involved in caring for a budgie and how you can help it seamlessly make its way into your family? Here, find out what you need to know about caring for a budgerigar and other considerations to keep in mind if one is in your future.

History of the Budgerigar

Parakeets comprise about 115 species of birds that are seed-eating parrots of small size, slender build, and long, tapering tails, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. Budgerigars are a type of parakeet and, in addition to being called “budgies,” they are often referred to as “shell parakeets” due to the wavy, shell-like formations on their wings.

Budgerigars are about seven and a half inches long and come in hundreds of brilliant shades of greens and yellows. Generally, parakeets — budgies included — are found in warm regions, from India to Australia and tropical America, and prefer temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80 degrees Fahrenheit (particularly in areas of Australia, where they form large flocks in Australia’s grasslands). These birds congregate together for nesting — forming a breeding colony — in tree holes, laying six to eight eggs twice a year. They tend to have a shorter lifespan than some other parrot species, generally living between 6 and 12 years, Dr. McLaughlin said.

Where to Buy a Budgerigar

Unfortunately, some budgies found in pet stores can be the product of bird mills. However, parrot rescues can be found in every state and will have birds available for adoption that have been medically tested and cleared, said Jacqueline Johnson, Parrot Garden Manager at Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah. According to The Gabriel Foundation, a parrot welfare organization, medical testing often includes microscopic fecal analysis (to ensure a bird is parasite-free) and testing for Chlamydophila psittaci (psittacosis), also known as “parrot fever,” a bacterial illness that may be carried by budgies without any signs of illness and that is transmissible to humans. General blood testing, as well as testing for other illnesses, may also be performed, especially if a veterinarian examining the bird finds any marked abnormalities.

What Do Budgerigars Eat?

According to Dr. Laurie Hess, DVM, board-certified bird specialist and owner of the Veterinary Center for Birds & Exotics in Bedford Hills, NY, budgies need a varied diet that includes formulated pellets, fresh vegetables and fruits, with seeds provided as only an occasional treat. Most avian veterinarians recommend that formulated pellets make up about 70 percent of the diet (these are nutritionally balanced and are created using a blend of grains, seeds, vegetables, fruits, vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients). The other third of the budgerigar diet may come from fresh or frozen vegetables, fresh or frozen fruits and grains, as well as small amounts of other protein sources such as cooked egg or meat.

While seed may be a favorite food among budgerigars, an exclusive, seed-only diet is a no-no, McLaughlin said, as seeds are deficient in nearly all vital nutrients. Although you may find products like grit — which is primarily made from ground up minerals and sand — marketed for budgies to help their stomachs grind up seed hulls, Johnson said that while grit is useful for birds like pigeons who swallow seeds whole, budgies hull their seeds before eating and don’t need to be given grit.

Most produce and table foods that are healthy for people are also nutritious for birds. Try to feed your budgerigar either fresh or frozen produce, avoiding too much fruit (it’s high in sugar and may lead to obesity), as well as canned foods, as they may contain certain preservatives that may not be safe for your bird, Dr. McLaughlin said. You’ll also want to avoid feeding your budgie avocado, chocolate, alcohol, caffeine, and uncooked dry beans and legumes, as they contain toxins that can be fatal if your bird consumes enough of them.

Budgerigars can be creatures of habit, and McLaughlin recommended not making any sudden changes in their diet, as some birds may not recognize new items as food and may actually starve themselves. “Bird owners should talk to an avian veterinarian if they are considering a diet change,” she said.

Veterinary Care and Your Budgerigar

Due to extensive inbreeding in the pet trade, budgies can be prone to certain tumors and cancers, Johnson said. Budgerigars can suffer from a variety of medical problems, including traumatic injuries to limbs or beaks from scuffles with other animals, obesity, liver disease, gastrointestinal parasites and other infections, according to Dr. McLaughlin, making regular veterinary check-ups with a bird-savvy veterinarian vital. Since birds commonly mask signs of illness for as long as possible, a yearly veterinary exam is important to help detect problems early and to establish a normal baseline for the bird, Dr. McLaughlin said. “I recommend that budgies be examined by an exotic animal or avian veterinarian every six months to help identify and treat any developing disorders early,” she said. Consider annual bloodwork and fecal analysis to screen for underlying health issues.

Caring for Your Budgerigar

Budgies tend to be tame, respond well to regular, gentle handling, and can be very affectionate, Dr. McLaughlin said. Additionally, they are not as loud as many other parrot species and can develop surprising vocabularies. Depending on the individual bird and the amount of training they receive, budgies are capable of learning dozens or more words in different languages. Even though budgies are known for being quieter parrots, they may still be noisy and are very messy — a trait of virtually all birds. As with any pet, budgerigars require a big commitment, including a lot of attention to socialize them, safe housing, and proper nutrition, Dr. McLaughlin said.

Budgies are small and may be timid, so if there are other predatory pets in the house, said Dr. Hess, such as cats or dogs that might consider budgies as prey, owners should be careful not to have the birds out of their cages when these other pets are around and should be sure that budgies’ cages are securely locked and not easily within other pets’ reach.

Dr. Hess added that budgies also may not be the right fit for very young children, who may scare these birds with their quick movements and rough handling. However, budgies can make great companions for slightly older, responsible children who are supervised when they handle these pets and who can be taught to allow these birds to sit quietly on their hands.

Whether or not you allow your budgerigar to fly freely in your home depends on your living situation, said Dr. Hess. While it is nice to enable your pet bird to fly as it does in the wild, in a small captive setting (particularly if there are other pets in the house or if they can be in danger of flying into a window, mirror, or ceiling fan or out an open door) flying may not be practical, and wing clipping – or trimming the five outermost flight feather to prevent lift – may be the more prudent choice.

Wing clipping is temporary, however, and feathers will grow back in a few months if you decide to let your bird fly. “A caregiver must weigh the benefits of flight against the need for safety, and make an informed decision about clipping wings or not,” said Johnson.

Consult an avian veterinarian before making the decision to trim a bird’s wings, Dr. McLaughlin said. The process of clipping a bird’s wings is not painful and usually needs to be performed every three to six months, she added.

When purchasing a cage, consider one that is large enough for your bird to fly or hop uninhibited, with narrow bar spacing (larger spacing can lead to budgerigars getting their heads caught in the bars). Since budgies love warmer temperatures, Dr. McLaughlin recommended keeping a ceramic heat lamp to one side of the cage (outside of the cage) if your home is particularly cool in the winter. She also recommends allowing your budgie to have supervised time out in natural sunlight (in a cage for their protection) whenever possible for optimum health.

According to Dr. Hess, ultraviolet (UV) light is critical to enabling birds to make vitamin D in their skin, which then enables them to absorb calcium from their food. If it’s too cold or impractical to expose your bird to natural sunlight outside, you can provide your budgie with supplemental UV light for several hours each day using a 5.0 UVB light (which emits a five-percent UVB output) shining over the cage, Dr. McLaughlin said. Several safe UV lights are commercially available for birds, Hess added, and UV lights made for reptiles should not be used for birds, as the light may cause damage to their eyes or burns.

When it comes to grooming your budgerigar, Dr. McLaughlin said that they should be allowed to “shower” with water daily (or a minimum of twice per week) for optimal feather and skin health. Budgies typically need toenail trims every other month to keep them short and blunt to prevent them from catching on clothing or curling under and damaging the feet; however, if you provide your bird with a number of different-texture perches, they will often wear their nails down naturally, Dr. Johnson said.

Budgerigars usually enjoy a wide variety of bird toys, said Dr. Hess, including shredding toys (made from paper for your parrot to destroy), foot toys (to promote dexterity of the feet), swings, noise makers and foraging toys (puzzle-like toys that hide food for your bird to discover). Materials that are safe for use in parrot toys include wood, leather, paper and most hard plastic products that are not too soft to chew and ingest. Toys with bells or other metal items should be made only of stainless steel or nickel plated metal and not zinc or lead, which are potentially toxic to birds

“Budgies can be incredible companions,” Johnson said.  “They are smart, silly, and tend to bond closely to their owners if they are handled consistently.  It is important to move slowly at first to establish a trust-based relationship. Once a budgie accepts you, they love to spend time with you.”

Top 10 animals that will become your child’s best friend

Blog Children in the City >
Review Articles > Top 10 Animals That Will Be Your Child’s Best Friend

A child asks for a pet, but you don’t know which animal to choose? Don’t worry, we have compiled for you the top 10 animals that your baby will make friends with. nine0010

Can’t decide which pet to get: a cat or a dog? Hamster or parrot?

Pet care can teach a child to be responsible and take care of his pet. Bonding with a pet can provide an invaluable experience not only for the child, but for every member of the family.

But sometimes children don’t even want to pick up clothes from the floor or fold toys, so you question their ability to care for, feed and clean the animal. nine0010

Do you think they are not ready for such responsibility?

If you want your pet to be your best friend, wait until your child is old enough to take care of their pet on their own. Usually, only after 5-6 years of age, children can consciously systematically follow the rules and follow a clear algorithm of actions. Toddlers often do not distinguish an animal from a toy and can provoke it with inept handling and too active games. nine0028

But how do you choose the right pet?

We have collected for you the top 10 animals that your baby will make friends with.

1. Dog

A dog is a full member of the family. Photo: Pixabay

A dog is not just a pet, it is a full-fledged member of the family, so it requires attention and care on a par with a child, not to mention care.

Promises “I will walk with him every day”, as a rule, are quickly forgotten even by the most responsible children. Be prepared for the fact that caring for a puppy will very quickly become your responsibility. nine0004

To make sure your child is really ready to take care of a pet on their own, arrange a check. If you have friends or relatives who can “borrow” a dog, take him in for at least a week and shift all the caregiving responsibilities to the child. If this is not possible, just arrange with the child to pretend that you have a dog – let the child go for a walk early in the morning and in the evening as if with a puppy. After a week of such “walking” it will become known whether the child is really ready to take care of the dog. nine1. Cat Photo: Pixabay

What could be nicer than a warm, fluffy creature that soothingly purrs and caresses gently. A kitten is the perfect pet for introverted children. Children with this personality type love to be alone, they are restrained, calm and thoughtful, so communication with a kitten will allow them to reveal themselves, give tenderness and love to a fluffy pet. Boys love cats, but girls are more likely to choose them as pets. Moreover, it is important for a girl to be in contact with a cat, because it is necessary for the girl’s body to develop antibodies to a disease such as toxoplasmosis. nine0004

3. Fish

Fish are ideal for those new to pet care. Photo: Pixabay

Goldfish are a classic choice, but are known to be very fragile and difficult to care for.

In contrast, the cockerel, or fighting fish, feels great even in a small aquarium. This type of fish breathes atmospheric air, so water aeration is not required. Cockerel is a beautiful fish, most often expensive, with long bright fins. nine0004

Fish watching has a calming effect on hyperactive and cranky babies. Bird training Photo: Pixabay

They bang on the cage like rock stars in a hotel room, but musically inclined kids will love these tunes.

Birds can be colorful, active and can be very social, but they take time and patience to train and are not suitable for all children. nine0004

All birds require regular cage cleaning and fresh food and water, as well as a spacious cage and some flying space. Small birds do not like sudden movements or loud noises, so they are better cared for by older, calmer children.

5. Hamster or gerbil

“Pocket pets” are suitable for owners of small apartments. Photo: Pixabay

Small, plump, harmless and intelligent, these animals need some care, but no more than a child can handle on their own.

The perfect choice for families that want a pet but aren’t ready for a cat or dog. “Pocket pets” are suitable for owners of small apartments, because they do not require much space. But keep in mind – rodents are mostly nocturnal animals, so be prepared for noise in the middle of the night.

Even if you clean the cage regularly, you can still smell bad smells from the rodent. And if you neglect to clean the cage, the smell can be just awful. nine0004

6. Guinea Pig

Guinea pigs rarely bite children

Guinea pigs are mainly manual, unpretentious and rarely bit children. They tend to be active throughout the day and night, so children can play with them more often.

Guinea pigs should be kept in pairs and provided with sufficient space. They need to be fed fresh, healthy food to meet their vitamin needs. nine0004

7. Ant farm

Ant farm is perfect for boys aged 5 to 8 who love insects very much.

They are like tanks, excavators and dinosaurs wrapped in a compact training package.

The Ant Farm is ideal for boys aged 5 to 8 who love insects. But ants are equally useful for any child interested in science. nine0004

Watching an ant farm can be a great way to learn about the nature and work ethic of these incredible insects. Encourage your child to save daily track drawings – this can lead to interesting discoveries.

Farm maintenance includes removal of old food and debris, regular feeding (usually other insects and honey mixture) and access to fresh water.

8. Lizard

Leopard geckos are good for beginners because they are easy-going, odorless and non-allergic. Photo: Pixabay

Lizards can be very interesting pets, but not every species is suitable for a new owner. Iguanas and monitor lizards are cute and funny at first, but then they grow into one and a half meter predators. If you are not ready to keep a “dinosaur” at home – pay attention to their safe relatives, for example, the leopard gecko. nine0004

These reptiles are well suited for beginners as they are undemanding, odorless and non-allergic. Geckos are very neat animals: they choose one place in the terrarium and go to the toilet only there. Leopard geckos are sociable animals, they quickly get used to the child and then ask to be held in their arms.

9. Turtle

Photo: Pixabay

There are aquatic and terrestrial turtles. To begin with, it is worth deciding on the species, but consider the fact that many land turtles are listed in the Red Book, so it is illegal to sell and buy them without documents.

Most freshwater turtles are captive bred and can be easily and legally purchased at a reasonable price. In addition, there are much more aquatic species than land species, so you can choose an unusual pet for yourself.

Land tortoises mainly feed on plant foods. They need a lot of moisture in their food, vitamins and minerals. But aquatic turtles are carnivores. All kinds of frogs, tadpoles, snails and insects are used as food for such reptiles. nine0004

10. Snake

The most popular species is the corn snake. Photo: Pixabay

Don’t be afraid. Serpents are often underestimated. Stay away from large and of course poisonous species and you will see that snakes can actually be interesting pets for children.

The most popular species is the corn snake. She is very easy to tame, she is friendly and very beautiful. nine0004

The snake will need a terrarium (make sure it’s tightly sealed to prevent escape), fresh water, and a heat source. And, of course, she will have to be fed, which upsets some. Snakes are carnivores, they eat rodents about once a week. If this aspect of friendship with a snake is not a problem, then feel free to get this reptile for your child.

Do you agree that these are the best pets for kids, or do you have other ideas you can share? nine0025

Pet for a child – who to choose?

    {{text}}

At preschool age, most children dream of their own pet. They “order” a furry friend to Santa Claus, ask their relatives as a birthday present, try to take home every kitten or puppy they meet on the street. At some point, parents decide to encourage the baby’s desire, but they immediately wonder what kind of pet to choose for a preschool child so that he can cope with the care and care of a pet. nine0004

    Making an informed choice

Parents and children should understand that a pet is not a toy, but a living creature that requires no less attention than all other family members. For him, you need to create comfortable conditions, and not only equip your own corner, but also provide the necessary care. Naturally, responsibility will have to be distributed among family members, because. A preschooler is unlikely to be able to “educate” a pet on their own.

As for choosing a pet, the following options are possible:

    • Cats . They are not very whimsical in terms of care – they are quite clean, and wash themselves, they do not require daily walking. However, cats are wayward in nature, especially when it comes to certain specific breeds, such as Siamese or British cats. The kid needs to be sure to explain the rules of behavior when communicating with these pets and demonstrate them by his own example. In general, cats get along quite well with preschoolers – they allow themselves to be stroked and participate in joint games. nine0315
    • Dogs . They are friendly, active and very smart pets that almost all children dream of. Naturally, dogs show their best qualities only after training, so it is very important to go with a new pet to training sessions with cynologists. In addition, dogs need to be walked daily, and this can quickly get boring for a little animal lover. Be prepared for the fact that most of the care of the pet will fall on the shoulders of the parents.
    • Rodents . If a child asks to have an animal, but cats and dogs, for one reason or another, do not seem to be the most rational option, you can opt for domestic rodents. Hamster, guinea pig, domestic rat, rabbit – all these animals are quite suitable for families with preschool children. The best option, however, would be a guinea pig – a friendly, intelligent and unpretentious rodent. You can also get a rat, but not everyone likes their appearance. Hamsters often bite and are predominantly nocturnal. As for rabbits, they require a large cage and careful care that preschoolers may not be able to provide. nine0315
    • Fish. It would seem that a kid of any age can easily cope with such pets. However, aquarium care cannot be called simple – you need to monitor the purity of the water, feed the fish on time, provide the necessary aeration and lighting. If you decide to start an aquarium for a preschooler, it is better to buy one or more unpretentious goldfish and put them in a small aquarium.
    • Birds. For toddlers, birds are unlikely to be the preferred pet option. It is difficult to play with them, and care for the cells should be regular. The birds themselves are also not very comfortable in families with small children – the kids are very active and noisy, which makes the birds worry and worry. If the child himself wanted to get a bird, the choice should be made on budgerigars, because. they are the least whimsical. nine0315
    • Reptiles. Some children show an increased interest in “exotic” pets such as snakes, lizards, turtles. Not all parents agree to such an unusual neighborhood, especially given the need to create certain conditions for reptiles to live. Caring for such pets requires responsibility not only from children, but also from other family members.

    Helpful Hints

Here are a few more tips about choosing a pet that you might find useful:

    • Any, even the most seemingly unpretentious pet requires regular and thorough care. Preschool children are unlikely to cope with all the responsibilities, so the help of adults will be simply necessary. If you cannot provide the pet with proper attention, you should not start it.
    • It is not uncommon for children to bring home homeless animals, often malnourished and requiring veterinary care. Do not scold the baby and do not drive away the unexpected “guest”. Try to help the animal as much as possible, and then place it in good and caring hands. Such behavior will teach the child to empathize and help the younger brothers. nine0315
    • Before bringing a pet home, be sure to find out if the baby is allergic to animal hair and saliva.

When choosing a pet, you need to take into account a number of other important factors: the average life expectancy of the animal, the amount of free time for adults, the size of the apartment, material resources and individual characteristics of the child. And remember that pets become full-fledged members of the family, so their appearance should be a conscious and joint decision. nine0004

Does your family have a pet? How responsible is the child in caring for him? What do you think is the best animal for families with preschoolers?

New York turns into a hockey center

The South Mountain Arena is located in the state of New Jersey, 60 kilometers from New Rochelle, one of the suburbs of New York.

Getting there is not easy, especially during rush hour.

But difficulties never frightened the young Kevin Shattenkirk. He did his best to work on himself. He hoped that one day it would help him get into the NHL.

He now has eight seasons in this league under his belt. He holds the first championship as a player of the New York Rangers. And he began to play in the New Rochelle Lightning team, which was founded in 1981 year. Kevin was the youngest of three brothers (Keith and Eric), but his dreams went beyond Westchester County.

At the time, the best hockey schools were in New Jersey. Therefore, Kevin and Keith began to play for the New Jersey Devils children’s team. Internal competition helped them develop. Distance didn’t bother them.

“A lot of times we would come home from school, pick up our trunks right away and go to New Jersey,” says Shattenkirk. “We did our homework and played hockey there.”

The history of Shattenkirk is familiar to many New York and suburban hockey players. Now this sport has taken root in the region, and most of the guys no longer have to leave home to learn how to play hockey. Qualified coaches have appeared here, the guys are already dreaming not about how to get into the NHL, but how to become a league star.

“It’s great to see this change. Young kids have a choice. There are a lot of teams in the region and they’re very good,” says Rangers defender Schattenkirk at Madison Square Garden, 30 kilometers from his home. in New Rochelle. – In my time it was not. All this began to develop when that period of my life was already coming to an end. ”

January 1 (12:00 GMT) Shattenkirk will play in the NHL Winter Classic for the second time in two years: the Rangers will face the Buffalo Sabers at Citi Field. Last year, Shattenkirk played for the St. Louis Blues at Busch Stadium and helped the team beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1.

“That match will remain one of the most vivid memories of my life,” said Schattenkirk. “It’s not just a game. Your family and friends can rejoice with you. Such moments are especially memorable. You will remember them when you think about it many years later how your career went, what you saw during the years of playing hockey.

CBS Sports Network expert Dave Starman has coached various youth teams. He believes that the national youth league development program (American Development Model – ADM) played a huge role in the development of hockey in the country. Thanks to her, coaches got access to the necessary materials, training methods, new ideas.

The ADM program was developed by the US NOC and the US government in 2014. She had a huge impact on the development of hockey in New York, primarily through the development of coaches.

“The USA Hockey Federation has made the coaching program better,” he says. “The program helps coaches get things right from the start. We’ve abandoned the philosophy that an eight-year-old team can be trained the same way as a ten-year-old team, and 10 year olds can be trained like 12 year olds. Every age has its own challenges and they need to be brought to the guys at the right time to prepare them for the next step. This is the biggest change from what it was in my time.”

The success of hockey in New York is already being felt in the NHL. New Jersey Devils defenseman Steven Santini played hockey in the New York suburbs. The Carolina Hurricanes defender Brett Pesce took his first steps in this sport there. He started skating when he was three years old. Boston Bruins guard Charlie McAvoy grew up on Long Island and was drafted 14th overall in 2016. Next to him comprehended the basics of hockey Sonny Milano. He was selected 16th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2016. San Jose Sharks forward Kevin Labank was born in Brooklyn, but then his family moved to another area of New York, where he played for local teams.

In 2016, the St. Louis Blues drafted center Tage Thompson with the 26th overall pick. He also played hockey in New York and partnered with McAvoy in the United States National Team Development Program. Guard Adam Fox (Calgary Flames, 66th overall pick in 2016) and forward Jeremy Bracco (Toronto Maple Leafs, 61st overall in 2015) grew up not far from the city.

“There are a lot of good guys on the way,” says Schattenkirk. “I feel like we’re the first generation of New York hockey players.”

Santini wanted to be the next Schattenkirk when he trained at the Brewster Ice Arena, built with the help of Santini’s father. Steven Santini now runs one of New York’s leading children’s teams.

“I’ve always looked up to Kevin,” said Santini, an alumnus of the USA National Team Development Program. It’s not just the guys in Massachusetts or Minnesota who can play hockey, I said to myself, “If he can do it, then I can do it.”0003

After the New York Islanders won the Stanley Cup four times in a row (1980-83), the guys living in this area of \u200b\u200bNew York believed in their dream. In 1992, the Rangers drafted twins Peter and Chris Ferraro. They became the first Long Islanders to break into the NHL (1995-96 season). They now work as coaches at the Islanders practice rink.

“That success caught the eye,” Chris Ferraro said of the Islanders’ victories in the 1980s. “Besides, our parents were in the sporting goods trade. It all helped launch our careers.”

But the Ferraro twins had to travel all over America in the summer to find a good training camp. Their father often took them to Philadelphia, where they played for the Flyers children’s team. Then the family rented a house in Massachusetts so that the brothers could go to school and play in a local team. In 1990, the Ferraros moved to Iowa altogether, where Peter and Chris played in the junior division of the US Hockey League.

“You could say our family was ahead of its time,” said Peter Ferraro. about ourselves in other regions of the country and in Canada. It became a springboard for us.”

Montreal Canadiens defenseman Mike Komisarek (7th pick in the 2001 draft) was born on Long Island. He is the only native of the region to play in the NHL All-Star Game. It happened in 2009.

“My example was exemplary – I grew up on Long Island in a family of immigrants. I had no special talents, but I loved hockey very much and was ready to do anything to get to the next level,” said Komisarek, who is now a coach in Sabers player development – Growing up, I looked up to Peter and Chris Ferraro, guard Rob Scuderi (born in suburban New York and played 783 NHL games, winning the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Los Angeles Kings”). I saw how the guys living near me play in good hockey schools. And I thought that I could also play in these teams. I did it. Maybe someone, looking at me, decided, “I hope he should do it too. I hope there’s a new generation that’s growing up that saw us succeed in the NHL and decided they could do it too.”

So McEvoy decided and was not mistaken. He was the star of the Boston University team and then made a splash in the first round of the 2017 NHL Playoffs, in which Boston lost to the Ottawa Senators in six games.

Note on Frequency of Inspections

Centers, Group Homes, and Licensed Family Homes::

In 2014, legislation was passed that changed the number of unannounced visits from two per year to one per year in Child Care Centers, Group Child Care Homes, and Licensed Family Child Care Homes. As a result of this new law, you may see a decrease in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for these types of providers. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint, and visits are scheduled with the facility during the re-licensing process, which occurs every two years.

Registered Family Homes:

Most family homes are registered, not licensed. In 2014, legislation was passed that allows Child Care Licensing to make one unannounced visit to these homes each year. As a result of this new law, you may see an increase in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for Registered Family Child Care Homes. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint. Click here for an overview of each facility and the requirements they must meet according to state law.

I started my son here at 18 months earlier this year and it was our first experience with a daycare. It has been nothing but positive. The teachers are all very welcoming by greeting my son each morning by name. It made our transition from staying home full time to working full time that much easier knowing he was in a loving and caring environment.

Usually we serve children, and this is not only an act of obsequiousness towards them, but also direct harm, since this can drown out their useful, independent activity.

Maria Montessori “Children’s Home”

Education should guide activity, but not suppress it. The job of the educator is to nurture and promote, to observe, to encourage, to guide, to encourage, rather than to interfere, prescribe, or restrict. nine0005

Maria Montessori “Children’s Home”

The first instinct of a child is to act independently, without the help of others, so his first conscious step towards gaining independence is to protect himself from those who try to help him.

Maria Montessori

We cannot foresee all the consequences of dampening the direct, spontaneous activity of the child at the time when he is just beginning to show activity. Maybe we are drowning out life itself. nine0005

Maria Montessori

Comparing the abilities of children and adults, psychologists say that it would take us sixty years of hard work to achieve what a child comes to in just three years.

In the kindergarten from December 12 to December 16, 2022, all activities were timed to coincide with the Science Literacy Week. During the week, teachers held thematic discussions, exciting experiments with sand, water, etc. The guys got acquainted with the properties of substances (flowability, buoyancy, solubility, etc.). nine0005

Open demonstrations of educational activities were held in junior, middle and senior age groups, where children acted as researchers. Teachers Grekova G. S., Nagornaya E.A., Boriskina O.S., Tyureva A.N. held interesting events dedicated to the Week of Natural Science Literacy.

A light table for sand therapy was purchased at the kindergarten. Sand drawing is a new and at the same time simple type of visual activity for preschoolers. With inspiration, the children mastered the technique of drawing with sand “Miracles in the sand”, “Pictures-riddles” – one of the forms of the child’s natural activity. nine0005

One of the main priorities of the kindergarten is the protection of the life and health of children, the organization of their safe life. Safety Week has passed in our kindergarten. The first topic of the week was “Water safety in winter”. With the onset of the first autumn frosts, the water in the reservoirs is covered with ice. freeze-up period begins. We must not forget about the serious danger that freshly frozen reservoirs pose.

The employees were instructed “Compliance with the rules of safe behavior at water bodies in autumn-winter period “. For parents of all age groups, instructions were offered on the topic “Beware of thin ice” , consultations: “Increasing the responsibility of parents for safety stay of children near reservoirs ”, “We are with children during weekends and holidays at reservoirs in winter ”.

As part of the safety week , the following ice safety activities were carried out with older children in the autumn-winter period . Preschool children were shown a presentation – “Rules of conduct and measures safety on water and on ice in autumn-winter time” , “To avoid trouble, be careful near the water” . The children looked at albums “Beware of thin ice!” , “Beware of ice!” , which clearly shows how to behave in such situations. There were discussions and quizzes.

Our preschool has been cooperating with the school for many years. After all, as V.A. Sukhomlinsky said: “The school should not make a drastic change in the lives of children. Let, having become a student, the child continues to do today what he did yesterday. Let the new appear in his life gradually and not be overwhelmed by an avalanche of impressions.

A team of teachers has done a lot of work: the documentation has been studied, methodological work has been planned with children and parents to implement continuity with the school. All this is aimed at the end result: the successful adaptation of preschoolers to school. nine0005

We talk with children about school: why do we need to go to school? What is a teacher? What is a lesson, a change? The most diverse forms of work are used: educational activities, conversations, looking at paintings, illustrations, excursions to school, reading fiction about school life, getting to know school supplies, verbal and didactic games on school topics.

So in November of this year, the educator, N.I. Kalko, held an open demonstration of educational activities using information and communication technologies for cognitive development as part of the week of continuity of elementary school and preschool institution – “Visiting the King Counting.” The children tried with pleasure to get into a fairy tale, and a magic wand, fairy-tale heroes helped them in this. They offer mathematical tasks, games, relaxation minutes. E.B.Ezhalova held an open show “Entertaining Mathematics”. The Russian matryoshka came to visit the children, the game form is interesting and understandable to children. And the complex use of methods and techniques helped the children climb one more step in preparing for school. These events were attended by primary school teachers MBOU lyceum No. 4 and secondary school No. 1 in Yeysk. nine0005

The average salary in Portugal in the middle of 2019 is 1188.06 euros per month. This makes it one of the lowest paid countries in the EU.

Language Teaching

Some teachers also choose to teach in summer camps or take private lessons. The main cities for training jobs are Lisbon, Porto, Coimbra and Braga. Top Employer Ranking

If you are going to find a job in Portugal, your first success and salary will depend primarily on the knowledge of the language. The official language of this country is Portuguese. It is a Romance language with many similarities to Spanish. If you know one of the Romance languages, learning Portuguese will take no more than six months at an average speed. If you know English, you can learn Portuguese in 8-12 months. If you speak only Slavic languages, you will need to spend at least a year and a half to study Portuguese thoroughly. Of course, these are the terms for “remote learning”. When a person enters a living language environment, he learns to speak five to six times faster. Children who moved to Portugal begin to speak in a coherent way in a strange way after a month or two. Of course, children’s vocabulary is not to be compared with business Portuguese, which you definitely need if you are applying for a high-skilled job and a high salary.

How to work in Portugal in your specialty

If you have a higher education and work experience in IT, medicine, finance, big business, only documents and knowledge of the language stand between you and a brilliant career in Portugal. The Portuguese do not shy away from foreign specialists and welcome anyone who knows what needs to be done to earn big money and a good image for the company. For some professions, at least in the same field of information technology, knowledge of English may be sufficient. But not everyone is so lucky.
To learn Portuguese quickly, you can hire a tutor. The cost of his work is from 100 euros per month (classes 2 times a week). We offer you our specialist.

Diploma confirmation

Some positions require mandatory confirmation of a foreign diploma by European specialists. Confirmation of a higher education document opens up great career opportunities for a foreigner and has one very nice bonus – the opportunity to bring the whole family to the country.

An application for confirmation of a diploma is submitted to the Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science. The decision to confirm the specialty is made according to the content of the curriculum. That is, the situation is quite real when your diploma says “Journalist”, and the courses that you took at your university correspond to the Portuguese program for studying philologists. In this case, you will confirm the diploma of a philologist. If your knowledge is not enough to obtain a Portuguese title, similar to that indicated in your diploma, you will be offered to complete your studies at one of the universities of the country of your choice. Some specialties will require the passing of state examinations. This applies primarily to doctors, teachers, engineers. To get an education, you need to go to the country on a tourist visa, for the duration of the session you can get a student visa. Confirmation can last from six months to two years. Before submitting an application, you need to collect a voluminous package of documents.

This whole process is rather complicated and painful, but we will help you to confirm your diploma. Contact us to go through this procedure without any problems.

Working with English

Knowing English increases your chances of finding a paid job in Portugal. The fact is that in Europe a lot of programs are constantly working in English. It can be anything from science parks to tourism. If you do not have a confirmed diploma of higher education, knowing English will help you get a job on cruise ships, in travel agencies for foreigners, in high-tech project teams. The tourism sector is the best option for those who have recently found themselves in Portugal and are just starting to learn the state language.

Low-skilled labor

It sounds a little embarrassing, but your mood will improve when you find out how much an au pair, dolce harvester or farmer earns in Portugal. Low-skilled jobs require minimal language skills and usually do not require a diploma. Unfortunately, many of our countrymen work illegally, especially in low-skilled positions. This poses a risk to both the employer and the employee. But everyone benefits from properly executed documents: the employer is clean before the tax, the employee is protected in case of non-fulfillment of the contract.

Here are typical low-skill jobs in Portugal:
1. Truck driver. Salary from 700 euros. 5 three-day trips per month. Requires proof of driving license.
2. Housekeeper for a mother with children. Skills in cooking, cleaning, raising children are required. Accommodation in the tenant’s house. From 600 euros. 1 day off per week.
3. Collector of grapes (corn, cork, etc.). From 400 euros. 8-hour working day.
4. Dancer. You need the ability to dance. From 600 euros. Evening work. Notice, sometimes a dancer is just a dancer.

Start your own business in Portugal

If you plan to work in Portugal, be sure to consider starting your own business. There are several reasons for this.

The first reason. All conditions have been created in Portugal to attract foreign investment, and enterprising immigrants are very welcome here. The economy of this state is slowly recovering from a serious recession, the unemployment rate remains quite high, the labor force is very cheap compared to other EU countries, taxes are average and below average, there are various bonuses for foreigners, for example, a residence permit in exchange for creating workers places.

Second reason. The procedure for creating a new company is simplified to the maximum. If desired, an enterprise can be opened in one day, the system is transparent, bribes are excluded, all permits can be obtained quickly and legally. There are a lot of offers on the market for the sale of a ready-made business, the requirements for starting a business are minimal. The country has a well-developed business infrastructure.

The third reason. International business potential. Portugal is a port from Europe to the Americas and Africa. In Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde, East Timor and several African countries, Portuguese has the status of an official language and is actively used in business. For a Russian-speaking businessman, markets are automatically opened in at least 13 more countries. Needless to say, it is much easier to expand from Portugal to the European Union than from any other of its countries.

Fourth reason. Great experience in doing business with compatriots.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

KinderCare Learning Center at UCAR Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Extracurricular Programs: Music Munchkins (12 months and older), JumpBunch (18 months and older)

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • We love the center! From the moment we toured the facility, we knew that this was the school that we wanted to have our son attending. We tried another child care center, but we found it to be advanced babysitting. KinderCare Learning Center at UCAR, on the other hand was open, child centered, and active in helping our wee one to develop. We chose to enroll our son at KinderCare because there is a very open line of communication between the staff and the parents. The staff themselves are very knowledgeable and into what each individual child’s needs are. They’re very flexible, and there is always a center director there to guide and answer any questions. Our son has blossomed at KinderCare. Thank you.

    Melissa C. – KinderCare Parent
  • With two working parents, excellent child care is an absolute necessity. We found this at KinderCare Learning Center at UCAR. Our two boys (now two and a half years and eight months) have attended since infancy and we couldn’t be happier. We’ve been impressed from the start with the warm teachers, and stimulating environment surrounding our children. Weekly, our oldest son returns home with a new word or concept and enthusiastically shares the activities that fill his day. We’ve enjoyed and taken advantage of “extracurricular activities” available through the center such as Spanish and JumpBunch. Keeping a precocious toddler busy is no simple task, but the teachers at KinderCare seem to do this effortlessly. They always make sure to share a warm story or anecdote about the day and seem to truly enjoy their time with our children. It is a relief to know my boys are in such caring and capable hands and enjoying themselves when mom and dad have to be at work.

    Tasha J. – KinderCare Parent
  • It feels a little weird to say that your one-year-old or even two-year-old is in pre-school, but that is the environment that KinderCare Learning Center at UCAR provides. It is way more than a day care and the environment is very inviting to both kids and the parents. The teachers are both nurturing and interested in providing an environment for young activities. Dropping off my kids in the morning is so easy because I know my kids are in a caring environment, where they will not only learn something but enjoy their time as well.

    Billy E. – KinderCare Parent
  • Our daughter has attended KinderCare Learning Center at UCAR since she was five months old and has now moved up to the toddler room. She enjoys going to KinderCare each day so much that she immediately begins playing with a big smile on her face right when we arrive. The staff are well trained in childhood development, so that they have a good understanding of milestones and age related behaviors and needs. The staff always act professional and are very loving to the kids. The director is very friendly with parents, teachers, and kids, and is always available to parents if they need to talk. We are very happy with KinderCare and would recommend it to families with young children.

    Sarah H. – KinderCare Parent
  • CCLC has been absolutely wonderful for us and our daughter. Our daughter has been at home with a nanny for most of the last three years, but when we moved to Boulder Valley we agreed that it was time to enroll her in a preschool program. We both work full time and have resisted daycare for as long as possible because like many parents, we felt no place could be good enough for our baby and give her the care, attention, and love she deserves. But then we found CCLC, they really took an interest in us and our daughter from our initial meeting and tour. It has a very different feel than the other places we visited. I think the small more intimate classroom settings, the calm, positive and welcoming demeanor of the directors and the staff, and the fact that the center is well regarded and well attended so there is no marketing vibe led us to know immediately that this was the right place. Everyday I feel like the teachers and directors are happy to talk about her day and any concerns and let us hang out. I actually feel comfortable leaving my little girl and I know she is in good hands. CCLC is such a safe, loving, caring, fun, and interesting environment that has already expanded her mind and her social skills. I know she is having more fun and learning far more than she would all day with me or at home with a nanny. In a relatively short period of time we have seen positive changes in our daughter and I credit the people at CCLC with that. I would highly recommend CCLC.

Chris and Alisa – KinderCare Parent
  • We enrolled our daughter at CCLC when she was 15 months. After being home with her mom since birth, she wasn’t so sure about child care. But the teachers at CCLC worked hard to make her (and us) comfortable during the transition. Within a few weeks, our daughter was excited to visit her new friends at school every day, even reciting their names on the drive in the morning. We appreciate the care and attention the staff at CCLC show to their students, and we look forward to the daily reports and photo updates. They do a great job engaging with parents as well. Recently, our daughter moved up to a new classroom, and while she felt a bit uneasy at first, we felt very sure the teachers would take good care of her during the transition. Now she’s fully acclimated like we knew she would be. Thanks CCLC!

Boulder is a city in the US state of Colorado. The area of the city is 65.7 km². The population is about 90 thousand people. The city was founded in 1858.

The city of Boulder is located on the spurs of the Rocky Mountains, is located 45 kilometers from the large city of Denver, and rises 1655 meters above sea level. It is the administrative center of the district of the same name. Boulder is the 11th most populous city in Colorado.
nine0007

In Boulder, due to its high altitude and such dry mountain air, there are about 300 sunny, almost cloudless days a year, which makes this region an ideal training sports base for sports such as athletics, as well as some specific winter sports .

Boulder is truly the most student city. It is here that the largest educational center of Colorado is located – the famous University of Colorado. This university is also the main employer of this city. Almost a third of the inhabitants of Boulder are students of this educational institution. The university is also well known for hosting the annual Shakespeare Festival. nine0007

In addition, the Museum of Natural History of the University of Colorado is one of the largest natural science museums in the country, its unique collection contains more than 4 million exhibits from various eras and directions.

The modern American writer Stephen King glorified the city of Boulder in his novel The Stand, the final action of this novel takes place in this Colorado town. He also appears in the famous film “The Shining”. Writer Stephen King knew Boulder and its surroundings quite well, having visited it several times in his youth. nine0007

Not long ago, in 2010, Boulder was named one of the happiest cities in the United States by USA Today’s annual rankings. Such a favorable conclusion for the city was reached by professional compilers of the ranking of American cities from the health care company Healthways and research firm Gallup. In total, this rating, which is included in the broader scientific study “Index of well-being”, includes 162 large and medium-sized American cities, as well as urban agglomerations, evaluated by several important indicators, including emotional, physical and, of course, economic condition residents.
nine0007

Denver is a lively, cultural and self-absorbed city in the USA, the cosmopolitan capital of Colorado. Glittering downtown skyscrapers and historic LoDo districts are filled with breweries. Here is the best “culinary scene” between Chicago and California. In addition – a 12-meter sculpture of a blue bear and 18-meter dancers. In the arenas of Invesco Field at Mile High and Coors Field, home runs, high-five gestures, and crowds of rabid sports fans are an almost nightly show. The road into the distance, high fog and rarefied air – the jagged purple line of the Front Range, the gateway to the world of virgin nature, perhaps the most amazing on the continent. In short, there are many things to do in Denver.
nine0007

The city is compact and the people are friendly. Situated at exactly 1,609 meters (1 mile: hence the nickname “The Mile High City”) , a former Old West rail junction is a great place to acclimatize. There is low humidity and abundant sunshine.

Attractions in and around Denver

If you don’t believe that Denver was once the mining capital of Colorado, take a look at its Capitol’s top-carat gold leaf dome or the local branch of the US Mint, which holds a quarter of the country’s gold reserves. The times of the Wild West are long gone, but the locals still prefer to wear a cowboy hat and a plaid shirt, as in the old days. The architectural appearance of the city is entirely modern, with the exception of one street, preserved from the time of gold mining. But the most delightful thing you see as soon as you enter the city is the stunning view of the Rocky Mountains, a kind of picturesque backdrop of Denver, spread out behind.
nine0007

The US Mint on Colfax Avenue organizes weekday tours of the minting facilities. You will see a bar of gold and a counting room full of finished products. In addition, the majestic building of the local Capitol (East 14th Street and East Colfax Street) is located on Colfax Avenue. When climbing the west stairs, stop at the 18th step and you will be a mile above sea level.

Art Museum stands out in contemporary Denver (West 14th Avenue and Bannock Street; Tel: 720-865-50-00; www.denverartmuseurn.org) . The walls of the seven-story building are covered with a million glass tiles, and window openings cut through their surface in disorder, which creates a bewitching spectacle. The museum has an excellent collection of Native American art: totem poles, clothes and carpets, as well as changing exhibitions of works from various fields of world art.

You can get to know old Denver on Larimer Street, where Victorian buildings have been preserved in the form of art galleries, shops and cafes, as well as several good Mexican restaurants. Larimer Square is formed by courtyards and vaulted galleries illuminated by gas jets. But the real piece of old Denver is in the spacious lobby of the Brown Palace Hotel (17th Street and Tremont Place) built in 1892, the exquisite forerunner of the glass-roofed atrium of today’s hotel skyscrapers.

From September to May, the Denver Symphony Orchestra plays at Betcher Concert Hall (14th and Curtis streets) , with excellent acoustics and semi-circular seating tiers that allow you to see the experience on the faces of the performers. Classical and popular music is performed 26 km southeast of the city in the open area of the amphitheater in Red Rocks, among the picturesque red sandstone.
nine0007

If you do not have time for a long trip through the Rocky Mountains, you can still admire one of the highest local mountains by driving to its top along a paved road. Mount Evans rises east of Denver at 4,346 m (57 km on Interstate 70 to Idaho Springs, then turn south and take Route 103 to Route 5) .

State Reserve “Rocky Mountains”. Located on the continental divide in north-central Colorado west and between the cities of Fort Collins and Boulder, the national park is a wonderful land of sky-high peaks, 150 lakes, mountain rapids, high tundra, virgin forests and a diverse flora and fauna. The largest mountain in the park is Longs Peak, 4345 m high, rising in the western part of the reserve, which is difficult to conquer even for experienced climbers. Another well-known site for visitors is Bear Lake, Bear Lake, nestled at the foot of Hallett Peak, where many hiking trails start.

RTD also operates routes to Boulder ($13, 1.5 hours) from Market Street Bus Station (junction of 16th St and Market St) . Before you rent a car, check the rates at the places where you will be staying, they can be significantly lower than at the airport.

Convicted American Krivanek left Russia at the same time as Greiner

An American citizen Sarah Krivanek was sent from Russia to the United States, she served her term in the Ryazan region, this is not connected with the release of another American woman Brittney Griner, said Natalya Epikhina, Commissioner for Human Rights in the region.

Tickets were bought from Krivanek in advance, she was supposed to leave Russia on December 8, Epikhina said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The exchange of basketball player Brittney Greiner and the release of Kryvanek took place on the same day, Reuters writes.

The agency indicated that Krivanek was flying home via Dubai.

Epikhina explained that Krivanek was transferred to the Ryazan region in May, she had served her sentence. She was placed in a temporary detention center for foreigners, where she was waiting for deportation.

Special attention was paid to the release of Krivanek after media publications claimed that Krivanek was sent to the USA together with basketball player Brittney Griner, who was exchanged for Viktor Bout. However, Krivanek had already served her sentence and was subject to deportation from Russia in any case, unlike Greiner, who had just begun serving her sentence.

In February 2022, Krivanek was detained at Sheremetyevo, she was suspected of assaulting a Russian citizen. According to media reports, diplomats from the American embassy allegedly tried to help her evade justice.

The crime itself was committed in November 2021 in Odintsovo, according to the press, a woman, while drinking alcohol with her partner, stabbed him several times in the face.

Recall that on Thursday there was an exchange of Russian Viktor Bout for American basketball player Brittney Griner.

Bout spoke about the shock of the United States because of Russia’s desire to be independent

Viktor Bout said that the United States was “shocked” by Russia’s desire to “live and not depend on anyone”

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, many in the West are shocked by Russia’s desire to be an independent power and develop, but he did not encounter Russophobia in an American prison, said State Duma deputy Maria Butina Viktor Bout.

Bout, in a conversation with deputy Maria Butina, said that the West believes that they “did not finish off” the Russians in 1990, when the Soviet Union began to disintegrate. And now it is shocking news for them that Russia is just trying to be a truly independent power and develop according to the choice of the people, reports RT.

Bout also said that he did not encounter Russophobia in an American prison, both from other prisoners and staff, but on the contrary, they were set up with some kind of sympathy for our country.

“Or if they didn’t know anything, they at least asked something about Russia,” he said.

Recall that on Friday night the plane with Bout on board landed in Moscow. A day earlier, Bout was exchanged for US citizen Brittney Griner. The lawyer of the Russian compared the harsh conditions of Bout’s detention in the American prison “Marion” with “Alcatraz”.

Alla But, the wife of the released man, said that after the trip, Viktor feels terribly and very exhausted, as he has not slept for three days.

Sosedov called Vaikule out of her mind for her words about the USSR

Singer Laima Vaikule’s claims that she “supported” the Soviet Union and Russia sound very stupid, Russian journalist, music critic and music historian Sergei Sosedov said.

“A terrible, stupid statement by an old retired cabaret singer completely out of her mind. I feel very sorry for her,” Sosedov said in an interview with Spuntik Belarus.

He added that the artist’s statement is “complete nonsense”, and there is no need to seriously talk about this statement.

“Do you think I should comment on the nonsense of some fool, excuse me? Well, there is complete nonsense. She “contained the Soviet Union. I should comment on this, do you think? Well, then you also consider me a fool, ”he said.

“I feel sorry for her. I am not going to comment on insanity,” the journalist said.

Recall that Laima Vaikule stated that she allegedly brought a lot of income to the USSR with her work, and after its collapse, singer Alla Pugacheva brought income to Russia.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova suggested thinking about who supported the artists themselves, bought records, built factories and launched rockets into space.

Putin: Merkel’s words about the Minsk agreements confirm the correctness of the start of the NWO

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s statement that the Minsk agreements were signed to make Ukraine “become stronger” is disappointing and only confirms the correctness of the start of the special operation, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Honestly, it was completely unexpected for me, it is disappointing,” TASS reports his words at a press conference in Bishkek.

“It turns out that no one was going to implement the Minsk agreements,” Putin pointed out. “The leadership of Ukraine, in the words of the former president [Petro Poroshenko], also said that they were not going to sign it, but they were not going to execute it.”

Putin admitted that he did not expect to hear this from the former chancellor, since the German authorities, according to him, have always behaved sincerely with Moscow, although they were on the side of Ukraine. However, Putin added, it always seemed that Berlin sincerely sought a settlement on the principles on which the agreement was based.

The head of state wondered whether it was possible to negotiate with the West in the future. “But we have to negotiate,” he concluded.

Recall that the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Merkel’s words about the Minsk agreements are an application for proceedings within the framework of the tribunal. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Putin also said that Kyiv was playing for time.

Biography

Origin and childhood

Langston Hughes was born in Joplin, Missouri. The boy was the second child in the family of a schoolteacher Kerry (Caroline) Mercer Langston and her husband James Nathaniel Hughes (1871-1934). From parents Langston Hughes inherited African-American, European and even Native American roots. Both of his paternal grandmothers were African American, and his paternal grandfathers were white: one was of Scottish descent and the other was Jewish. Langston grew up in the ghetto.

Hughes was named after his father and great uncle, John Mercer Langston, who in 1888 became the first black American elected to the US Congress from Virginia. His maternal grandmother, Mary Patterson, was of African American, French, English and Indian descent. She was one of the first women to attend Oberlin College. Mary Patterson married Lewis Sheridan Leary, who also had mixed blood. Leary joined John Brown’s men in a raid on Harper’s Ferry, in which he was severely wounded and died in 1859.year.

Mary Patterson married a second time in 1869; her husband was Charles Henry Langston, whose ancestors were Africans, Indians and Europeans. He and his younger brother John Mercer Langston were abolitionists and they led the Ohio Anti-Slavery Society in 1958.

Subsequently, Charles Langston moved to Kansas, where he worked as a teacher and actively participated in the struggle for the rights of the black population in the United States. Charles and Mary had a daughter, Caroline Mercer Langston, mother of Langston Hughes.

The Hughes’ marriage fell apart and the father left the family. He went to Cuba and then to Mexico in search of peace from the unbearable racism that prevailed in the United States. After his parents divorced, the boy lived in Kansas, where he was raised by his grandmother, Mary Patterson Langston. Through her generation’s experience in the abolitionist struggle, Mary Langston instilled in young Hughes a strong sense of racial dignity. Hughes spent his childhood in Lawrence, Kansas. After his grandmother’s death, he was forced to live for two years with Hughes family friends James and Mary Reid. Due to the instability in those years, his childhood was not happy, but even then Langston began to take shape as a poet. Later, Hughes resided in Lincoln, Illinois with his mother Kerry, who remarried when Langston was still in her teens. The family soon moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and Hughes went to high school.

At Lincoln High School, Langston was elected the poet in his class. Years later, Hughes recalled that at first he believed it was because of the stereotype that supposedly African Americans had a sense of rhythm. Hughes said: “I was a victim of stereotypes. There were only two black children in the class, and our English teacher constantly emphasized the importance of rhythm in poetry. Well, everyone knows it, except us, that all black people have a sense of rhythm, and that’s why I was chosen as the poet of the class. While studying in Cleveland, Langston worked at the school newspaper and yearbook editor, and even then began to write his first poems, short stories and plays. His first poem in the direction of jazz poetry, “When Sue Wears Red” (When Sue wears red), was written while he was still a schoolboy. It was around this time that Langston became interested in reading books. It was during this period of his life that Hughes began to say that the American poets Paul Laurence Dunbar and Carl Sandburg had the greatest influence on his work.

Early life

Hughes had a tense relationship with his father. For some time in 1919 he lived with him in Mexico. The relationship was so tense and unhappy, more than once it pushed the young man to thoughts of suicide. After graduating from high school in June 1920, Hughes again lived with his father, trying to convince him to give him money to study at Columbia University. Later, before returning to Mexico, Hughes recalled: “I thought about my father’s strange dislike for people of his race. I could not understand this, because I was black and loved black people with all my heart.

At first, his father hoped that his son would go to some foreign university and choose an engineering profession. Under such conditions, he was ready to provide his son with financial support and pay for tuition. James Hughes did not share his son’s desire to become a writer. In the end, they managed to reach a compromise – Langston should study engineering for as long as he studies at Columbia University. After the tuition fee was paid, he left his father, with whom he lived for over a year. At the university, Langston received pretty good grades, but was forced to leave the institution at 1922 years old due to constant racist attacks in his direction. In addition, in those years he was more interested in what was happening around Harlem than in education, and later Hughes returned to writing poetry.

Hughes did not have a permanent job for a long time. In 1923, he joined the crew aboard the SS Malone, on which he spent 6 months traveling from West Africa to Europe. Langston decided to stay in Europe when the SS Malone made a temporary stop in Paris.

In the early 1920s, he joined the rest of the black emigrants living in Paris. On November 19At 24, Hughes returned to his homeland and settled with his mother in the city of Washington. Since then, he has changed many jobs, until he got a job as a personal assistant to the historian Carter Woodson, who worked at the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Dissatisfied with working conditions that prevented him from engaging in literary activities, Hughes quit and got a job as a busboy in a hotel, where he had to clean dirty dishes. At that time, he met the poet Vachel Lindsay, whom he impressed with his poems.
