Metric measuring units worksheets

You are here: Home → Worksheets → Metric measuring

Create an unlimited supply of worksheets for conversion of metric measuring units for grades 2-7. The worksheets can be made in html or PDF format – both are easy to print. You can also customize them using the generator below.

Conversions between measuring units are studied all through elementary school. Starting typically in grade 2 or 3, children practice easy conversions, such as changing a bigger unit into smaller units (4 cm into 40 mm) and the other way around (300 cm = 3 m). Later on they learn how to use decimal numbers in the conversions. Since the metric system is based on number 10, conversions between the units are very easy: they only involve multiplying and dividing by 10, 100, 1000, etc.

On this page you will find metric unit worksheets for:

  • Grades 2-3
  • Grade 4
  • Grade 5
  • Grades 6-7
  • Metric units formed with prefixes

Basic instructions for the worksheets

Each worksheet is randomly generated and thus unique. The answer key is automatically generated and is placed on the second page of the file.

You can generate the worksheets either in html or PDF format — both are easy to print. To get the PDF worksheet, simply push the button titled “Create PDF” or “Make PDF worksheet“. To get the worksheet in html format, push the button “View in browser” or “Make html worksheet“. This has the advantage that you can save the worksheet directly from your browser (choose File → Save) and then edit it in Word or other word processing program.

Sometimes the generated worksheet is not exactly what you want. Just try again! To get a different worksheet using the same options:

  • PDF format: come back to this page and push the button again.
  • Html format: simply refresh the worksheet page in your browser window.

Description

The principle of operation of the TS is based on the dependence of the resistance of a thin-film platinum temperature-sensitive element (SE) on temperature

Thermal converters are designed as a measuring insert with one SE, connected to a protective aluminum head, inside which there is a ceramic terminal platform for connecting the RTD to the measuring device. The measuring insert has an adjustable length V-14 ANPT spring-loaded connection fitting that provides good surface contact and vibration resistance in the thermowell or at the vehicle site. The protective cover of the measuring insert is made of stainless steel (316 SST). SE TS have a nominal static conversion characteristic (NSC) of the “Pt100” type in accordance with GOST R 8.625 (IEC 60751). nine0005

All vehicles have a four-wire circuit for connecting internal wires to the SE. RTDs are used in a set with additional protective sleeves (thermowells) of threaded type, made of stainless steel.

The Redlands County Public Schools Consolidation in the U.S. state of California will pay $6 million to a former high school student for being seduced by a teacher when he was 16 years old. TJournal writes about this with reference to a press release on the website of the school association.

It was decided to pay a huge amount of compensation for sexual abuse to a young man so that he would no longer sue the school.

The schoolteacher Laura Feithurst was involved in an incident in the spring of 2013. According to Redlands Daily Facts, in 2007 she began teaching English at a school in Redlands County. And in 2013, she gave birth to a child from her 16-year-old student. The mother of the young man, having learned about the incident, turned to the representatives of the school and the police. nine0006

After this story was published in the media, it turned out that Whitehurst seduced not only one schoolboy. Victims of the teacher began to contact the police, claiming that they were seduced at the age of 14. The woman faced 41 charges of sexual harassment of minors, of which she admitted only six.

Whitehurst was sentenced to a year in prison and five years of probation. Six months later, she was released for good behavior.

Why did you decide to study in the USA?

I came to the US for two summers in high school to participate in summer courses. My experience was great and really gave me some perspective. I also really like the variety that I have experienced. As a result, I always had plans to continue my higher education in the USA.

In addition, I have always wanted to work in health and medicine. I was convinced that the USA is the best place to get medical education.

nine0092 Why did you choose the University of Redlands?

I heard about the university when a representative came to my school. I passed the information on to my parents. At first they were very hesitant and upset that I would apply to a college they had never heard of. However, as time went on, they did their own research and found that the university was actually quite good.

What really strengthened my decision to leave was mainly for three reasons: location, financial assistance and generosity. The school was the first to respond to me and the only university that gave me a generous scholarship. In addition, a business professor flew to China and kindly invited my family to dinner. In fact, when one of my school teachers found out about the professor’s gesture, she convinced my mom that this is indeed a very caring and good school worth considering. As a result, I entered the University of Redlands. nine0006

    What do you like most?

I appreciate small classes as they have helped me pay more attention in class and it’s nice to have real professors teaching and knowing their material to pass on to us.

I am also very grateful for the opportunity to really get to know my professors. They give really good reviews and give really good tips that point me in the right direction.

What do you miss the most?

To be honest, I feel at home at my university and/or while in the US. However, if home is where my family lives, then I really miss my family members and Chinese food.

What was the biggest surprise for you?

On reflection, I think that some of the culture shock I experienced was actually an American habit of greeting. I often don’t understand why people ask how you are and then quickly leave instead of staying to hear how you really are. nine0006

    … your biggest disappointment?

Southern California does not have a very good public transportation system.

    How did you manage:
    … finances?

Usually my parents finance my studies. Fortunately, my school provided an academic scholarship. Working on campus has certainly helped me learn how to budget and pay my living expenses.

    What do you do?

Some of the clubs I participate in are: Liberty in North Korea (LiNK), Hands for Africa (HFA), Biology Club, Phi Sigma (Biology Honors Society), Ultimate Frisbee, Redlands International Student Association (RISA) and Rotaract . I also worked as a global ambassador whose role was to help international students acclimate to the US and the University of Redlands. nine0006

I did my community service at Micah House. This is an after-school program that helps underprivileged children complete school and extracurricular activities. Also, I am part of the local Redlands group associated with Trinity Church.

How easy or difficult was it to make friends?

I think it’s easy to make friends in the USA. Often I find that Americans are very friendly. Sometimes they can be overly friendly and overzealous to help. In fact, I have made my best friends here. They made me feel very accepted and helped me accept myself and understand myself better. nine0006

How does your education in the US match your personal goals and the needs of your country?

Initially, I wanted to become a doctor, but I found that the financial costs and the time frame were really difficult to handle. Eventually, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to become a physician assistant.

Since my goal is to eventually work and stay in the US, I began to build my skills and career goals around what the US demands and focuses on.

What advice would you give to other students considering studying in the US? nine0093

Talk to the professional department of your university as soon as possible. They can help you understand your alien status in the US a little better and can therefore help you in your job search so you can secure a place here if you plan to work in the US.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There will always be someone willing to help you and sort out your situation.

Try to explore diversity. While it’s nice to spend time with people who belong to the same country and language, it’s actually very rewarding and fun to make friends from different groups. Learning from someone who is almost nothing like you is very productive and eye-opening. nine0006

The benefits of studying in the USA

It is impossible not to see the objective benefits of studying in the USA! The most notable is the rankings of American universities. US Universities are in the lead in ALL (without exception) world rankings! Second, and for many, the most important is the huge employment opportunities in the US for graduates of American universities (after completing a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree). The third (directly related to the second point) is the direct and close ties of most US universities and colleges with employers: this opens up opportunities for free and paid internships during study and employment after graduation! The next item on the list of advantages of studying in the USA, we hope, will not be a simple banality for you! America is a country with a multinational culture, being in this world “melting pot” enriches both culturally and … morally. If we are destined to live in the era of “global peace”, we will enjoy all its benefits and enjoy it!

Another feature of the US education system is its flexibility, especially the flexibility of higher education, which allows any student to choose a program of study that matches his (candidate’s) level, including organizing transfer with credits passed.

Almost all American universities and colleges have modern campuses. Their infrastructure makes not only studying, but also leisure full-fledged: numerous sports, cultural clubs, interest centers, volunteer and other organizations make student life exciting and unforgettable!

US education system

Secondary education in the US starts at age 5. In fact, this is still a kindergarten. But the second year of study is already the first year of Primary School. Education in the Primary School in the USA lasts 5 years. Then there is training at the Middle School / Middle School (grades 6 – 8), then – training at the High School / High School (grades 9-12). Children usually complete secondary education at the age of 18. Education in it ends with a Diploma of Secondary Education. The diploma is the basis for continuing education already at a college or university in the United States.

US colleges (community colleges) provide a 2-year education, after which a “two-year degree” is issued – an associate’s degree. After receiving this degree, young people can either go to work, or can continue their studies further at an American university (plus 2 more years to a Bachelor’s degree).

Please note that after school it is not necessary to go to college first, you can immediately go to an American university and, after studying there for 4 years, get a bachelor’s degree.

After receiving a Bachelor’s degree, if desired, you can continue your education in the United States and further: a master’s degree (1.5-2 years) or further – study to a Ph.D. degree (3 years or more).

According to statistics in 2009, 4.5 thousand universities were registered in the USA!!! They have 17.5 million students, more than half a million of whom are foreigners. As you can see, a huge number of people around the world choose US universities as a place of further education. Make the right choice for you too! And we will help your dream come true!

Language courses in the USA

The presence of a large number of language centers allows you to choose a training program in almost any more or less large US city. We work with a significant number of language schools for adults and children on both coasts and in the mainland. English language courses in the USA with a low intensity of classes allow you to “submit” students to the embassy for a tourist visa, a large intensity (more than 20 lessons per week) requires a student visa.

We will guide you through the various options for studying in the US and applying for a visa. We offer a variety of language course options:

  • Language schools for children and teenagers in the USA (summer options)
  • Year-round language programs for children
  • Language courses for adults

Obtaining a US visa

An educational agency does more than just provide you with information about US programs and institutions. We do the main thing – we help with enrollment, booking accommodation, and after that comes what everyone who served in the army calls the “demobilization chord” … We, as your agents, will have to get you an American visa. You (together with our specialists) in accordance with the chosen program of study and your family and financial circumstances, prepare the documents for submission to the US Embassy. We will fill in visa application forms, suggest how to increase the chances of passing an interview with a visa officer. Students International has a lot of experience working with the US Embassy, and although we (or no one else!) can guarantee you a visa, we know exactly HOW to do so in order to maximize your chances of obtaining a US visa! We have already helped more than one hundred students to get an education in the USA, we will help you too!!!

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Cypress Creek KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten Programs

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • My husband and I are pleased with the love and care KinderCare has shown our toddler who has been in their care for over a year. KinderCare is actively involved in educating parents on the day-to-day activities of their children. I receive detailed curriculum for the upcoming two months. Everyday I receive details of our daughter’s care (diaper change, sleep schedule, food consumed, etc.), and what she learned for the day.

Teachers and directors are always available to provide me a status of my daughter’s development, progress and behavior. Since children routinely get sick and love to “share” their germs, the staff tries their best to prevent the “sharing” of germs by notifying parents of what they notice or if a child has an illness and was removed from the classroom. Staff does a wonderful job keeping the center clean and organized. Meals are provided and dietary preferences are taken into consideration.

The craft projects my child brings home brings tears to my eyes. They show me she is learning and learning in different styles. There have been many occasions where our daughter has been reluctant to go home after a full day at the center. The staff has displayed their willingness to be attentive to the needs of the children as well as the parents. We appreciate all of their hard work! Keep it up.

    Taisha – KinderCare Parent
  • Our oldest daughter, Gabriela, was one of the first infants to enroll at the new Wesley Chapel, FL KinderCare location and has attended for almost five years. From the moment we did our tour, the staff made us feel welcome and provided us with a sense of security that our child would be well taken care of. Through each of her classroom levels and several of the Learning Adventures programs (music, reading and now math) at KinderCare, Gabby has developed intellectually, emotionally, and physically beyond our expectations. Each teacher, whether in the infant, toddler or Volunteer Prekindergarten classrooms, has helped educate and shape her creativity and personality and, their dedication to her learning is apparent We specifically appreciate the privilege of having such a wonderful Center Director, Lori O’Drobinak. She is consistently available to answer our questions or concerns (sometimes more than once), provide direction and guidance on how to transfer what our child is learning at school to the home environment, and ease our stress levels by encouraging us through our child’s (and our) growing pains. Our youngest daughter, Anabella, started in September last year, and is happy and thriving in the infant room. We are very excited to see her development within the KinderCare environment as well. We appreciate the Director, Lori, and staff at the Wesley Chapel, FL KinderCare. They care for our children, and us, as though we are family. It means everything to have confidence that your children are being cared for, protected, and educated in the highest regard, especially when they are away from you, as their parents. I hear comments from friends and co-workers that the cost of care is so high. I simply respond that we are fortunate to work for a firm that offers a discount at our center but more importantly, I cannot imagine any amount of money being to great when it comes to the care and education of our children. Thank you for creating such a wonderful facility and programs that supports everything we were looking for.

    Jane T. – KinderCare Parent
  • We started at KinderCare February of 2009. At the time my younger son was eight months old, and my older son was just over three years old. Currently, the little one is in Voluntary Prekindergarten at KinderCare, and the older one is in first grade. The older one completed Voluntary Prekindergarten at KinderCare and then moved on to elementary school after. He has excelled academically in school; while he is a smart little kid, I credit KinderCare for the foundation that was built for him while attending there and has helped him in becoming the smart first grader he is. I have been more than pleased with the care and instruction that my boys have received at KinderCare. The teachers/care givers there have become like family to my boys and me and it’s clear they have a sincere and genuine interest in their well-being. Both boys are well adapted, smart, confident children and their teachers/care-givers have a lot to do with that. I have always felt included as a part of their development path at KinderCare – informed of progress, how their day goes, and their general well-being while “at school”. Two way communications, from the Director, Lori, to their teachers, has always been encouraged. The little one graduates from Voluntary Prekindergarten this Spring and will be starting Kindergarten at elementary school in the Fall. I think we’ll all feel some sadness at the end of an era with our last one leaving KinderCare. The center and its staff have become so much of our daily lives. We will miss it!

    Kim H. – KinderCare Parent
  • We wanted to take a moment to let you know what a wonderful experience we have had with KinderCare over the past few years. Our son, Stephen, started out in the Discovery Preschool Classroom, and continued through Volunteer Prekindergarten and Summer Camp. The Director, Lori O’Drobinak, is the most phenomenal Director any family can hope to have running the child care center where our children spend their days. She hires the absolute best caregivers who share her passion for children and maintains an immaculate and organized Center. She inspires the children, teachers, staff and parents to be the best they can be and was ALWAYS there to lend a hand, ear, or shoulder to lean on. The teachers were very communicative and open with the parents. They provide structure, consistency, support and love to the children day in and day out, no matter what. They provided ample opportunity for parents to participate in classroom activities and enjoy KinderCare with their children. The creative teaching methods used made learning fun. Whether they were learning how plants and flowers grow or how to be good little citizens, it was conveyed in a fun, effective and engaging fashion. I cannot express how blessed we feel to have been part of the KinderCare Family. Our son and us have made lifelong friends with other children and parents at Kindercare. I totally believe its due to the great environment created by Ms. O’Drobinak and her Assistant Director, Ms. Sharon. They were never too busy to talk with parents, introduce parents and families to one another and make our children and family members feel welcomed. Please feel free to use me as a reference for other families who may be considering KinderCare for their child care needs. Word of mouth is the absolute best advertising you can get in the childcare business. Our previous experiences with other day care facilities paled in comparison to the excellent experience with KinderCare.

A new kindergarten in the Oktyabrsky district of Samara is open assessed the possibilities of a new kindergarten in the Oktyabrsky district of Samara, one of the most densely populated in the regional capital. The head of the region checked the readiness of the premises of the kindergarten to receive children and talked with parents and children who will start attending a new preschool from next week.

A new modern two-story kindergarten building, built thanks to the Demography national project initiated by the President of the country Vladimir Putin , will open its doors for 112 children aged 1.5 to 7 years in the coming days of November.

— Starting next week, this kindergarten will start accepting wonderful children, its pupils, and I hope that it will become a truly second home for them. Of course, nothing can replace the warmth of relatives and friends, but the attitude of teachers, the head of the kindergarten suggests that they will try to make the children interesting, tasty, so that parents feel that the child is safe, under supervision, receives new knowledge. Everything for this is here – both the most modern equipment and all the conditions for the development of children, – Dmitry Azarov addressed the parents of the pupils of the new kindergarten.

The new building has created comfortable conditions for the education, development and leisure of children, including children with special needs. 6 groups will be opened here, 4 of them are general developmental and 2 groups for children with disabilities.

The staff of experienced, qualified teachers has already been formed. Among them there is a psychologist, a speech therapist, a defectologist, specialists who will help children develop, realize their talents and abilities.

Particular attention during construction was paid to safety issues. To ensure it, a video surveillance system, an access control system, a burglar alarm and emergency communications are provided. Round-the-clock watch is carried out by employees of a private security company.

Alexander Khinshtein, congratulating children and parents on the opening of a new kindergarten, noted that preschool institutions in his childhood were very different from modern ones.

— We walk and admire, admire the beauty that is created here for our wonderful children. I congratulate you all on this happy event. I wish our children to always be healthy, friendly, and I wish my parents that you would be happy to bring your children in the morning and be happy to come pick them up from kindergarten, ”said the State Duma deputy.

The head of Samara, Elena Lapushkina, recalled that a few years ago there was an abandoned building on the site of a new modern kindergarten.

– Now children’s laughter will be heard here, qualified educators and teachers will work with our children. It is very important for the city. I would like to say thank you to the governor for giving the municipality a real opportunity to quickly resolve topical issues with queues for kindergartens and schools,” Elena Lapushkina noted, thanking the Head of the region for her support. — Let childhood be happy, and parents calm.

Of course, parents of preschoolers are most excited about the new kindergarten. The garden has become a real gift to the residents of the area.

— Parents were waiting impatiently, calling, asking when the kindergarten would open. The kindergarten turned out to be very beautiful, modern, with large rooms, equipped with everything necessary for working with children, including those with disabilities,” said the head of kindergarten No. 291 Natalya Sipailova .

— This is a wonderful kindergarten, we have been waiting a long time to get here. This is the place where you go and feel how much kindness and warmth have been invested here. Everything is very beautiful, pleasing to the eye. Very spacious bedrooms, everything is clean, everything is for children. The kids are happy and the parents are, of course, too. Such an object is very important for Samara, for all parents, for our entire society,” said the mother of one of the pupils of the new kindergarten. Now Russia is going through difficult times, but life does not stop. Our men are fighting for our future there, so that our children can feel safe here, grow, learn, develop.

In total, over the past five years, a total of 50 kindergartens have been built and reconstructed throughout the Samara region, more than 14 thousand places for children have been opened.

Construction of schools is also actively carried out in the region. Over a 5-year period, 11 schools were built and reconstructed, the construction of a new school for 1,600 students in the Avtozavodsky district of Togliatti, which will become one of the largest in the Volga Federal District, is nearing completion.

Only in the Oktyabrsky district, two buildings of school No. 26, a pre-school department at it and a new kindergarten on Podshipnikovaya Street were built over the past two years, thanks to which it was possible to significantly reduce the burden on educational institutions in the district.

More than 200 Point of Growth educational centers and more than 50 mini-quantoriums were opened in towns and villages of the Samara Region. Since 2019, the regional center for identifying, supporting and developing abilities and talents in children and youth “Vega” has been operating in the Samara Region, created on the model of the work of the federal center “Sirius”.

“And we will continue this work, create all the opportunities for talented children to grow up here, in the region, create conditions for their self-realization,” the governor assured. – All this would not have been possible without the national projects initiated by the President of the country Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin .
