Hi is this a complete villa for me and my family?
I mean, it’s not like other places where we can rent a house, but is the owner there during the stay? Maybe it’s stupid. but i prefer to ask in advance to book because i want to rent a complete house for my family thanks.
Thank you for your request, we are often asked about this by guests. The house is all yours. I live in UK. All apartments are available for full board only. We never partially rent rooms like other sites. I hope this is the answer to your question.

Can we park our boat there
We have a 2 car garage and a driveway so if the boat is either placed in the garage or in the driveway without creating obstacles, then yes the boat can be parked on site.

Developing programs for toddlers, preschoolers, schoolchildren
Developing programs for the smallest
Every parent wants his child to be smart, kind, read a lot, study well at school. Many fathers and mothers want to start teaching their baby at a very early age, but they ask themselves questions:
– where to start?
-how and what to do?
– which developmental programs for kids to choose?
We are preparing special developmental programs for the youngest, which are aimed at the overall development of the personality of children. We can offer you a variety of educational programs for toddlers, educational games for preschoolers, with the help of which the child will get acquainted with various art craft techniques.
Early development is not only the child’s ability to read and count, but also the child’s acquisition of basic concepts about the world around him, physical exercises, and the development of creative abilities. Therefore, we advise you to develop comprehensive programs for the smallest.
Educational programs for your wonderful kids are your child’s first steps towards self-awareness in the big world, to the initial important knowledge about the objects and phenomena surrounding him, about the people around him.
Educational programs for preschoolers
Some of the programs we offer include activities such as salt dough and plasticine modeling, appliqué work with various materials, craft making, working with paints (gouache and watercolor), painting three-dimensional objects , making postcards. They are designed for children 4-6 years old and will help develop perseverance, patience and attention in your child. The program of comprehensive developmental education for preschoolers in our club also includes the development of speech and mathematical concepts, musical development (singing, dance, rhythm), literary development (reading fairy tales, children’s poems), united by common themes, for example, the theme “Spring”, ” Professions” and others
Educational programs for first graders. Educational programs for junior schoolchildren
Family club “Skvorechnik” offers you developmental programs for schoolchildren, which are aimed at developing communication skills and communication skills in a child.
Our program of developmental education for preschoolers promotes the all-round development of the child, the formation of his universal, including creative, abilities.
Educational programs for middle school and elementary school students offer papier-mâché, batik, doll-making, isothreading and decoupage techniques.
The developmental programs we have created for first graders and elementary school children are focused on developing the ability to communicate in a team, work together and not be afraid of the first independent steps and responsibility for their actions, take the initiative in work . So, for example, “Learning to Communicate” is a developmental education program for preschoolers and primary school children, the main purpose of which is to teach the child beautiful communication, in which he will be understood, and therefore listen to him, as a result of which your child will increase self-esteem. We will tell him about the rules of successful dating, we will help him accept the fact that all people are different and communicate in different ways. Your child will learn how to regulate their mood, understand the types of emotions, and practice expressing and managing their feelings. Developing programs for elementary school and first graders contribute to the development of constructive behavior skills in conflict situations, the identification and overcoming of interpersonal barriers that a child may encounter at school. The program includes educational games for preschoolers, acting techniques, discussions, projection drawings, game exercises with elements of self-regulation (muscle relaxation exercises, breathing and facial exercises, etc.), viewing and analyzing cartoons, fairy tale therapy.
Developing school programs
Our club also offers developing school communication programs for children aged 9-11, in particular the program “Learning to communicate”, but now the formation of effective communication skills in the child is supplemented by mastering the skills of public speaking, which he will need in the classroom . We will tell your children about what public speaking is, how to properly prepare for it, how to be able to identify the most important things in it, and tell you about the goals and objectives of public speaking. Together we will learn to speak, listen and ask questions to other participants.
In addition, the Skvorechnik family club has a children’s animation studio where every child can try to create their own cartoon, and anyone can do it, even those who think they can’t draw.

I love True Love!!! Family oriented and very professional!!! The owners and staff are truly amazing!!! They really understand the meaning of True love!!! My kids love them all like family!!
Kita Spivey-Hinds
Excellent care!! Great staff!! They’ve been taking care of my grand-kids for the past 5 yrs and no complaints whatsoever.
TLC has been a true blessing for us. Being a “first time mom” and my husband and I being blessed with Justin in our “seasoned” (older) years, searching for the right daycare, was extremely crucial to us. Not only to be able to work and not worry about him but to be in such a Christian atmosphere was very big part of what we were searching for. All of the staff are very friendly, caring, compassionate and concerned for the well being of the kids there. The most amazing thing was to see the pastor/founder to be so involved and loving the kids. I love TLC and I am so grateful to God that HE lead me to the right place for our son. I have seen so much growth in the short length of time that he has been attending. Thanks to everyone at TLC for your service and the peace that my husband and I feel at work while leaving him in your care and not have to worry. God bless you ALL.

modesty at work — Work.ua
There is a fine line between modesty that is good and modesty that is harmful. In what situations excessive modesty harms – Work.ua figured it out.
There is a big difference between being arrogant towards others and knowing your own worth without being afraid to voice it to those around you. Why don’t you need to be modest at work, like a young lady on her first outing? Work.ua gives 7 arguments.
1. Define your personal limits of modesty
Agree that each person has his own understanding of modesty, which is largely due to the level of education. For one person, to be modest is to be silent like a rag, receiving an unfair scolding, and for another, to break only an arm, not two legs, to an opponent in a dispute. You need to define your personal boundaries of what is acceptable, because, in fact, modesty is a virtue, but only in the modern labor market such timidity and shyness have no place.
2. Modesty does not make you feel the taste of success
Each victory is a joy, a feeling of happiness. When you are praised for a job well done, you feel a surge of energy, release of hormones of joy and the ability to move further innocent mountains. And really, having completed the five-year plan in five minutes, will you deprive yourself of the pleasure of accepting congratulations and bathing in the rays of glory? Do not let false modesty spoil the moment of victory, because these are the events that you will remember in old age.
3. No one will know what you’re worth
Indulging in our humility, we often sit back and just expect our actions to speak for us. We assume that if we stay focused and work hard, we no longer need to fuss about anything – our efforts will definitely be seen and appreciated. But if you’re too humble, your bosses may never know how much good you bring to the organization.
4. You won’t even know what you’re worth
Don’t let modesty plunge you into contentment with your comfort zone. Don’t be afraid to truly express the skills and qualities that make you unique.
5. People use humble people
If you are found to be a slapper, be prepared to be slapped and used more and more. Accumulated grievances will develop into depression, nervous stress and chronic constipation. Do you need it?
6. You are not recognized as a leader
Every leader has had to make tough and unpopular decisions, taking full responsibility for the consequences of these decisions. With excessive modesty to decide the fate of people may not work out.
7. Modesty affects the very ability to earn money
Negotiation is a set of skills where there is no room for humility. It can be both a business meeting and a banal interview. If you take everything for granted, then it is very unlikely that you will get what you deserve.
Work.ua in no way underestimates the importance of modesty, depending on the context it can also be a very powerful tool. Think of it like the Chinese yin-yang philosophy: add modesty to your arrogance, and dilute modesty with arrogance.

Kindergarten Summer School can be loads of fun! Whether you are tutoring, teaching summer school or day camps, or helping young students, here are some fun activities to do with kids.
Academic Skills in Kindergarten
A summer school program is typically offered through a school district to offer support with academic skills. Certified staff members help ready kids for the next school year, reviewing reading skills, math skills, social skills, reading skills, and literacy skills.
Continuous improvement to avoid the summer slide is important for a child’s academic success.
As a kindergarten teacher, I would determine eligible students for Summer learning programs based on their skills in the core subjects. Below is a list of important skills often found in a regular school year kindergarten program.
Sight Words (high frequency words)
Kindergarten Math Skills (number recognition, number writing, counting, adding, subtracting)
Letter Sounds (Identifying alphabet letters, producing their sounds, and beginning/middle/end sounds of words)
Concepts of Print (Building words, reading, and writing left to right, top to bottom, spacing, etc)
Writing (letter formation, spacing, writing a complete sentence)
Reading fluency (In elementary schools, fluency is referencing the kids speed, expression, and accuracy when reading)
Social emotional learning
Physical education

Kindergarten Literacy Skills
Sight Words
Help the kids avoid the summer slide by building sight word recognition, and have them ready to start next year as a strong reader. Within each grade level, the number of sight words they are expected to know increases. Please refer to your local school district programs for additional information on their English language development standards.
Here is a list of ways you can practice sight words with your kids over summer break:
Popsicle stick sight word games
Shaving Cream sight words
Sight Word hunts in old magazines

It’s very important the kids don’t lose this fundamental skill over the summer. They are perfect for a fun, small group, literacy center.
These task cards are included in the Summer Bundle
Concepts of Print
As younger children get into the swing of Summer, we need to remember to reinforce the basics of kindergarten, such as concepts of print.
A simple and fun way to practice concepts of print are with Making Words activities. This Ocean themed Making Words resource has everything you need to build early writing skills and vocabulary. It, too, is included in the Kindergarten Summer School Bundle.
Reading Fluency
Sometimes it’s difficult to get the kids to enjoy reading. They often get frustrated, overwhelmed, and don’t enjoy reading. This is heartbreaking as a parent and as a teacher. To help keep reading fun, I always use poetry.
Poems are a wonderful tool to build reading fluency, vocabulary, and language skills. You’ll get three fun poems included in your kindergarten summer school bundle.
Math Skills for Kindergarten Summer School
Teaching kindergarten math is so much fun! You get to watch the early childhood aged kids go from barely understanding number sequence from 1-10, to becoming fluent in basic addition and subtraction within 20.
If the kids are having a difficult time learning new skills in math, I suggest additional supports to be offered throughout the summer session.
A strong math foundation happens in preschool. If your students did not attend a summer preschool program, and struggled in kindergarten, it’s important to offer as much support as possible before moving up to first grade.
A recent study shows “…the preschool years can make a major contribution to closing the gap in opportunity to learn mathematical ideas” (Clements, Fuson, and Sarama)

90,000 School – 2021 in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
On June 17-18, in the city of Zheleznogorsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Summer School “I am inspired by art” was held, organized by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Institute for Advanced Studies in conjunction with the ANO DPO “National Institute for the Quality of Education” as part of the project “Developing the quality of preschool education using the tools of the MKDO at the educational platform “Inspiration”.
The summer school was dedicated to creativity and art in kindergarten. The main idea was that the teacher not only owns the methods and technologies, but also interacts with the child every moment with his entire multifaceted personality, and the development of the child is possible only with the adult who himself strives to develop.
The program of the Summer School included unusual and bright events:
Invited to the Summer School:
Lidia Vasilievna Svirskaya, Ph.D. ped. Sci., Associate Professor of Additional Professional Education at the Novgorod Institute for the Development of Education, co-author of the educational program for preschool education “Inspiration” and technology “Children’s Council”;
Alexei Mikhailovich Lelchuk, artist, sculptor, teacher, enthusiastically engaged in intuitive sculpture with preschoolers and adults;
and many others.
The summer school provided an opportunity for representatives of network platforms implementing the BEP of the DO “Inspiration” to meet like-minded colleagues, adopt innovative experience and share their ideas.
Below is a review from a Summer School participant.
SUMMER SCHOOL IN ONE BREATH…
In the same breath, we lived a two-day intensive, immersed ourselves in the atmosphere of creativity and art. We were inspired by various creative people, including Lidia Svirskaya, co-author of the Inspiration program, and artist Alexei Lelchuk.
The venue for the Summer School was a recreation center in a picturesque place on the banks of the Yenisei River in a pine forest. This magical corner was the best way to immerse yourself in the theme of the Summer School – “I am inspired by art.”
The Adult Council opened the School – a special ritual of inspired teachers. As Lydia Vasilievna Svirskaya said: “You and I are like the Tribal Council, which thinks where to lead the people …” And indeed, at the Council it was found out that all of us inspired teachers are united by the same ideas, freedom of spirit, movement forward, faith in the future of Russian preschool education. The whole Summer School is a living communication, self-understanding, faith in one’s abilities.
On the first day, creative workshops were opened for the participants: “Intuitive Clay Sculpture” with Alexei Lelchuk, “Playback Theater” with Yulia Korotkova, “I draw? I’m drawing!” with Varvara Gorodilova. Working with clay, telling stories from childhood and playing them with colleagues, painting with pastels and watercolors – this is something magical!
In the evening, as a friendly company, we danced under the guidance of the teachers of the Calypso dance theater. The day ended at the Film Club with a film screening and discussion.
The morning of the second day began with the “Different” exercise. The question of the participants: “What is it possible?” “You can, colleagues!” A little tired, but inspired, we rush to the Adult Council: everyone is overwhelmed with emotions, everyone is eager to speak out, share their feelings, experiences, faith in their own strength.
Everything about the abilities of preschool children was discussed at a seminar with Lidia Vasilievna Svirskaya. And then creativity: Evgenia Fast immersed us in a musical living room with Carl Orff; Elena Venina organized a song flash mob. We completed the work of creative workshops with a drawing concert. Have you ever drawn Mozart? And we were painting!
Final collection – opinions, statements, discussions, planning. The main thing that the Summer School has given us is understanding ourselves, our abilities and possibilities! Understanding about understanding a child! Choosing creative workshops, I often heard from colleagues: “Yes, I can’t draw, sculpt, sing …”, “I was told in kindergarten that this was not mine …”. Masters breathed into us the confidence with which we will come to kindergartens, and which will help us to see the abilities of each child and support them.
Thanks to the organizers, all the masters and participants for the atmosphere, live communication, immersion, self-confidence! The summer school is about us teachers, an opportunity to look at ourselves differently, to express what worries or pleases, and not be afraid of evaluative opinions!
Kruglikova Yulia Mikhailovna, methodologist MBDOU “Kindergarten of combined type No.

Five people died in a shooting at a hospital in the US city of Tulsa

Five people, including a man who opened fire, were killed in a shooting at a hospital in the US city of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This is reported by the local police.
First reports of a shooting at St. Francis appeared at about five o’clock in the evening local time. nine0014
According to Tulsa police captain Richard Muilenburg, police found several bodies with injuries at the scene, some people were already dead.
“We also found a shooter, or a person we think was a shooter – he had a rifle and a pistol,” Muilenburg said.
The shooter opened fire on the second floor of the building. The police believe that this floor was his target, he did not plan to attack people in other parts of the building. The attacker’s motives are still unknown. nine0014
At St. Francis canceled all morning appointments in order to give the medical staff and staff the opportunity to “recover from the incident.”
Recall,
Last week, a high school student opened fire at Robb Elementary School in Texas, where children aged 7-10 study. As a result, 19 schoolchildren and two teachers died.
Another 13 children are now in the hospital with injuries of varying severity.
After the incident, information was revealed about gross violations by the local police. nine0014
It became known that the security forces did not enter the school building for about an hour, waiting for help, while shooting was going on inside. Since the shooter entered the building and a group of police broke into the school and eliminated him, emergency services received at least eight phone calls.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, 233 incidents of mass shootings have been recorded in the United States since the beginning of 2022. In total, at least 261 people died as a result.

Our unique program is designed for babies only. Each room has 8 babies. Rooms are divided by age, this center only goes up to 30 months. Babies are given better care with our 2-1 ratio. We prefer our babies not to be with older children. Our other location nearby starts at 2 thru nursery/pre-k. Children are well prepared with good social skills and kindergarten.

Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works
Apache2 Debian Default Page
This is the default welcome page used to test the correct
operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Debian systems.
If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at
this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at
/var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.
If you are a normal user of this web site and don’t know what this page is
about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to
maintenance.
If the problem persists, please contact the site’s administrator.
Debian’s Apache2 default configuration is different from the
upstream default configuration, and split into several files optimized for
interaction with Debian tools. The configuration system is fully documented in
/usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian.gz. Refer to this for the full
documentation. Documentation for the web server itself can be
found by accessing the manual if the apache2-doc
package was installed on this server.
The configuration layout for an Apache2 web server installation on Debian systems is as follows:
apache2.conf is the main configuration
file. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining configuration
files when starting up the web server.
ports.conf is always included from the
main configuration file. It is used to determine the listening ports for
incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
Configuration files in the mods-enabled/,
conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/ directories contain
particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration
fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively.
They are activated by symlinking available
configuration files from their respective
*-available/ counterparts. These should be managed
by using our helpers
a2enmod,
a2dismod,
a2ensite,
a2dissite,
and
a2enconf,
a2disconf
. See their respective man pages for detailed information.
The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of
environment variables, in the default configuration, apache2 needs to be
started/stopped with /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl. Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not work with the
default configuration.
By default, Debian does not allow access through the web browser to any file apart of those located in /var/www,
public_html
directories (when enabled) and /usr/share (for web
applications). If your site is using a web document root
located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your
document root directory in /etc/apache2/apache2. conf.
The default Debian document root is /var/www/html. You
can make your own virtual hosts under /var/www. This is different
to previous releases which provides better security out of the box.
Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs in the
Apache2 package with Debian. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.
Please report bugs specific to modules (such as PHP and others)

This book is very personal Like most of my lyrics, it grew out of pain. I remember well the moment I decided to write it. This was in the summer of 2012. My dear friend Elena Minchenya and I met at our favorite coffee shop in Minsk, and I shared my plan with her. I was burning with the desire to unravel the riddle that at that moment worried me more than others: why my relationship with my mother – the closest and dearest person – is so complicated and sometimes painful, both giving refuge and limiting the choice of life directions.
I don’t remember the reason for the conflict against which this decision was made. All that remained in my memory was a feeling of burning pain and hopelessness because my mother and I could not agree on some important issue. Like all our other quarrels, this one quickly exhausted itself. But the impulse to explore remained. In addition to wanting to find out how our family roles work, I had another important reason for studying the social institution of motherhood [1] – I hoped to understand my own reproductive intentions.
After reading dozens of books in English about mothers, childhood, and the “reproductive dilemma”, I understood the mainstream of modern Western sociology of motherhood. But none of them could exhaustively answer the questions that worried me: what makes up care for children in “our part of the world” [2] , why a difficult relationship with my mother is a problem familiar to many and what can help me make a decision that suits me – to become a mother? Immersion in the theory of motherhood made me realize that I would not succeed in finding a text that would address the complex of subjects that interest me personally. To read such a book, I had to write it myself. My project had its advantages and limitations, which are important to talk about.
On the one hand, having no family responsibilities to take care of children, I could afford to invest several years of my life in research. On the other hand, the position of the non-mother ethically narrowed the field of study. Not being a mother, I had no access to the articulation of the experience of motherhood itself. But I took advantage of other opportunities, studying the social production of family roles, the cultural representation of the mother image, and the transformation of social conditions in which my contemporaries today not only care for children, but also decide whether to become mothers.
Anticipating the expected criticism of a project in which the non-mother tries to reflect on motherhood, I hope to discover in an obvious way that I have in no way sought to take an expert position in those areas of life where I have no personal experience. By addressing the practices of motherhood through interviews with women who raise children, I act as an interested listener.
Talking about my research, I usually explain that I have a mother and this is enough intrigue to be interested in the social institution of motherhood. Every person, even without their own children, knows a lot about mothering for the simple reason that we were all brought up by mothers or mothering adults. The problem, however, is that the social order in which we live, by naturalizing maternal labor as “the natural need of women to take care of others,” makes this labor “invisible.”
Motherhood is difficult to understand in terms of costs, efforts and sacrifices, since in the performance of mothers care is denoted by the all-encompassing concept of “love”, which mothers are obliged to experience and give to others. When market mechanisms are involved in caring work, however, it becomes clear that the rhetoric of “mother’s bliss” excludes from the traditional economy millions of people whose work is not compensated and not protected by social guarantees.
Simply put, mother and nanny share the same caregiving functions. But the first does it out of love, and the second is compensated for her work. The nanny’s working hours are clearly regulated, if she works on the “white labor market”, her services are counted in the length of service, which in different social systems may imply various investments in a future pension. At the same time, maternal care does not imply guaranteed rest, is not counted in seniority, and is not considered work at all, since it is assumed that caring for others is a biological need for women.
Of course, in motherhood, in addition to material and moral costs, there are also resources. Women often associate caring for children with the fulfillment of their desires, with the acquisition of a coveted status, with the joy of feeling their own need, with pride in the success of the child, with involvement in parental communities. But motherhood also includes conventional ideas about the proper performance of family roles, which are regulated by numerous expert instances.
In other words, motherhood can be viewed as a separate social institution – a system of controlling authorities operating through the ideology of motherhood – a set of explicit and unspoken rules of maternal behavior. In turn, maternal ideology maintains a certain social order in which women are expected to focus primarily on meeting the interests and needs of others. In subsequent chapters, referring to the social institution and ideology of motherhood, I will give many examples that demonstrate how the conditions develop under which the modern mother, in the popular imagination, is conceived not as a person, but as a serving function.
Here I want to give a story from my own life, which I hope will explain that this book, in particular, is a recognition of my mother’s work, thanks to which I live. In addition to gratitude, this text is also a way to express regret for the reproaches that I addressed to my mother, believing that it is her direct duty to embody my desires on the grounds that I am her child. And, of course, this work is a tribute to all those who raise and participate in the care of children.
The story of how I was “lost” and “found”
When I think about my relationship with my mother, the same episode comes to mind. I am five years old. My parents and I are resting in the Crimea. Mom, having gone to the deli for provisions, instructed dad to look after me. Dad was distracted, but I, freed from supervision, went for a walk and moved away from the place where we were supposed to wait for mom, quite far. Having missed, the missing child was searched for about half an hour. When they found me, peacefully walking, my parents were beside themselves with emotions that overwhelmed them. Thirty-five years have passed since then, but I will always remember what happened next.
Sitting on a cliff, we were silent for a long time, peering at the horizon line connecting the sea and the sky. Suddenly, my mother said: “Do you see, there are lights behind the pass? This is a place where they send naughty children who go for a walk without asking. Tomorrow we will take you there because we no longer want to look for you, dying of fear. I vividly remember the feeling of cold metal filling my stomach. And an icy crust that seemed to cover my face. I wanted to scream in horror. But I was afraid to upset my parents even more, so I mobilized all the forces available to me to hide my feelings. Some part of my soul was frozen at that moment for many years – I do not doubt for a second the veracity of my mother’s intentions.
However, at the same moment, a new part of me was born. I remember how I said to myself: “If people live where they are going to take me, then I can too.” Since then, a lot of dramatic events have happened in my life, but this, I think, determined the design of my personality. Whenever I encounter exclusion practices, I feel cold metal in my stomach again and again. But the surviving part of my personality [3] , born on that Crimean evening, guides me, helping me embark on risky adventures. Like writing this book. Since the age of five, I have known the feeling of confidence that I can cope with any challenge.
At a conscious age, I complained to my mother many times about the feelings that I had experienced then and their influence on my fate – the possibility of being rejected still physically makes it difficult for me to get out of the shadows. But my attempts to discuss my childhood experience made my mother smile ironically, leading me to despair. However, several years ago, while experiencing public bullying on the Internet, I could not get out of the state of a frightened child for a long time, and my mother had to face the reservoir of my childhood pain, which is easily opened in certain circumstances.
I told her that in the face of confrontation, I return again and again to that Crimean evening when, I was sure, my dearest person had abandoned me. Through the tears flooding my face, I saw that my mother was no longer smiling. Her gaze became anxious and serious. And suddenly she confidently and calmly said: “I will never lose you again.” These magical words warmed the girl with a frozen soul that lives in me. She finally heard what she wanted and was comforted. But this is not the end of the story. I have repeatedly returned to the Crimean episode in conversations with friends and colleagues. Sharing childhood experiences, I always found participation and understanding. But one day something unexpected happened. Somehow, indulging in reminiscences in a conversation with a friend, I did not meet with the support of the dramatic pathos of my childhood story.
On the contrary, my interlocutor was the first person to show me a different perspective on the situation. A colleague said that she herself once almost forgot her child on public transport, explaining that at that moment she was tired, sleepy and overloaded with various problems. Thanks to this confession, for the first time I thought about the fact that the other side of the parent-child interaction actually also has feelings. In other words, this conversation allowed me to see my mother as an ordinary, mortal person, and not a mythical figure “without fear and reproach.” In addition, I was struck that my interlocutor, sharing her memories, did not condemn herself as a “bad mother”.
Filled with sympathy for people who care for children, she suggested that stories like mine were not uncommon. The ability to fully concentrate on the child is not always available, since parents (usually mothers), bearing the primary responsibility for the well-being of children, take care of them in a situation of limited outside support. At the same time, not a single, even the most ardent and sacrificial attachment, makes the resources of the human body unlimited. So I managed to discover that I was not the only party affected in that situation.
This conversation literally opened my eyes. It took me three whole decades to “remember” that it was not my mother who “lost” me. But my mother had every reason to be alarmed and angry, given the fact that then in the Crimea, left to my father, I got lost for the second time. The first similar situation occurred two years before. I am now far from shifting the responsibility for my childhood experiences to my father. I don’t want to look for the guilty any more. I have other tasks here, which I will talk about a little later.
In conclusion of a short digression into my private history, I just want to say that my mother and I were extremely lucky to achieve greater clarity in our relationship with each other. Due to the fact that I was fortunate enough to transform childhood trauma into experience, I can see my mother’s position in that story in more volume. Now I understand that she chose the best way available to her at that moment to tell me that my disappearance had driven her to despair; that small children should not go far, because they themselves cannot properly take care of their own safety.
Be that as it may, my mother’s educational method worked, and I never got “lost” again. In addition, I received an invaluable gift from my mother – her magic words “I will never lose you again.” For me, it’s not just a metaphor. This phrase for me embodies all the love that one person can give to another. These words warm my soul and give me a sense of support in my adult life. It is important to mention here that our relationship with my mother began in the era of “Soviet emotional restraint” and continues against the backdrop of a culture of “emotionally involved parenthood.” During my childhood, maternal work did not yet imply the professional competence in the field of psychology that is expected from mothers today and from the position of which many grown-up children today “ask” their mothers for “missed love in childhood” retroactively.
In the following chapters, I will build on the “child-centrism” tradition that is today accepted as the undisputed standard of childcare. This culture includes caring practices known as “intensive mothering” [4] . This is the name of the way we know today of interacting with a child, aimed at ensuring his or her emotional comfort and the comprehensive development of the child’s potential. In other words, in this new parenting culture, the needs of the child are prioritized over the needs of caring adults. However, the tradition of child-centrism is a rather new phenomenon, which has become established in “our part of the world” only in recent decades.
Modern Russian-language media often raises the problem of the pedagogical “backwardness” of Soviet mothers, who today are retroactively accused of either too strong, “suffocating love” or “emotional inaccessibility.” In my opinion, this rhetoric is a product of a psychological counseling market that is new to us, using the frightening category of “children’s psychological trauma” when promoting their services. I am not trying to argue that childhood psychological trauma does not exist. I just want to draw attention to the fact that suffering is an integral part of human experience at any age and the mythologized figure of the mother is not able to get rid of them, no matter how people strive to give the best to their children.
The public discourse of blaming mothers is, in my opinion, a rather new phenomenon that has become the result of certain social transformations. In Soviet times, motherhood was defined as a noble and honorable service to the social system [5] . Against the backdrop of social catastrophes of the 20th century, it was customary to talk about mothers with respect and love, as evidenced, for example, by the documentary works of Svetlana Aleksievich. So, in the book “The Last Witnesses (solo for a child’s voice)” [6] people who survived the war as children remember their Soviet mothers with incredible warmth and tenderness, and the heroes of the Zinc Boys sent to the Afghan war [7] sell cartridges to local residents in order to fulfill the main soldier’s dream – to buy a mother a gift . Today, a noticeable part of the cultural process is the statement that mothers “cripple” the child’s psyche with “wrong” upbringing, raising generations of “not adapted to life” people.
In this regard, one of the main research tasks that I set myself in this book was the intention to find out what happens to the social structure, as a result of changes in which the mother figure is appointed as the source of the problems of the whole society. Based on the work of feminist researchers, I will continue to trace how the concept of “early development” and the ideology of “intensive motherhood” come to “our part of the world”, which in the countries of the former USSR at the beginning of the 21st century are being established due to distancing from the Soviet experience.
“Why is your child not wearing a hat?”
In the process of writing this book, I yearned for “feedback” from experts – my contemporaries, raising children, and academics working in the field of feminist research. In search of a response that would guide my thoughts, I published outlines of future chapters in various magazines. In one such article from 2014, [8] , examining the reflection of the repressive ideology of motherhood in the media, I turned to the most high-profile stories of recent times, which publicly discussed the practices of caring for children and the identities associated with them. In particular, my attention was drawn to the extensive discussion in the Russian-language media about the appearance of the first child in the family of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
This story was important in the context of my work because it brings to light two important aspects of the modern institution of motherhood. On the one hand, the standards of child care today are formed with an eye on privileged, “star” mothers, who have access to armies of helping professionals. On the other hand, with the spread of digital networks and the possibility of interactive creation of information in our time, literally everyone can take an expert position on anything; as a result, every aspect of motherhood at the beginning of the 21st century is closely examined and evaluated.
In the new system of information production, no matter what social position a mother has, the expert position on her maternal work is easily intercepted by anyone with access to online statements. In turn, criticism of mothers is explained by the specifics of modern media. In the pursuit of sales and site visits, many media outlets seek to engage audiences by inciting intense emotional experiences.
The public “exposing” of a “bad mother” is always scandalous, and therefore attractive to pop culture. Fathers, school, extended family, social environment are rarely considered as responsible for the well-being of children. Public attacks on mothers in the media reflect a social situation that many of the women who agreed to be interviewed for my book describe as follows: “The modern mother owes everything, but, strangely, no one owes her anything.”
Returning to the history of the birth of the future king of Great Britain, let me remind you that Thu about

Vacation first aid kit
For kids
Author: Vinogradova Marina Valerievna
Pediatrician. Doctor of the highest category
Dear mothers, the long-awaited moment has come when you are going on vacation with your baby. Things are packed, but, as always, at the last moment we remember the first aid kit. Moreover, it is necessary to take care not only of the baby, but also of the parents. Departure in the morning, most of the pharmacies are already closed, and you need to take a lot on the road. Many hope for insurance, but we are going on vacation, and in order not to overshadow the rest, let’s take everything we need with us, prepare everything in advance, without fuss, for all emergency situations.
Antipyretics : nurofen, paracetamol (efferalgan, cefecon). These drugs have both analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. Allowed from 3 months. Moreover, an increase in temperature on vacation can be both a consequence of heat or sunstroke, and against the background of a viral (bacterial) infection. As a rule, all modern dosage forms have special dispensers designed for the weight of the child. They can be in a variety of dosage forms: syrups, suppositories, tablets, capsules. Combined forms (ibuklin) are very convenient. If you are confused, then paracetamol is prescribed at a dose of 10-15 mg / kg. after 4-6 hours, and Nurofen – 5-10 mg / kg. after 6-8 hours. Therefore, combined forms are more convenient. Paracetamol works faster and Nurofen lasts longer. We take only one drug!
Don’t forget to take thermometer !
Antiallergics . It must be remembered that they are also available in various forms: syrups, tablets, gels, drops, ointments … the active ingredient is 1-cetirizine, the names of the drugs are different: cetrin, zodak, zyrtec. They are given 1 time per day, they are of prolonged action.
Loratadine (Claritin), desloratadine (Erius) others, Zyrtec, Zodak – from 6 months. But fenistil is allowed from the first month. We take one drug.
I would recommend moms to take suprastin too. This is a first-generation drug, in emergency situations it works quickly, though it has a sedative effect. As a doctor, I always take an ampoule of dexamethasone and a syringe with me, in case of urticaria, Quincke’s edema, we immediately inject it into / m, and do not be afraid to make a mistake with the dose, because the range goes from 2-3, and in severe cases up to 8 mg /kg of weight. We need to provide only emergency assistance, the rest will be prescribed by the doctor.
If a situation arises with external manifestations of allergies, a rash, we use bepanten, fenistil gel, and older ones – advantan, triderm, pimafucourt, elidel, la cree . We take one thing, preference for what the child used at home.
Be sure to take the baby daily moisturizing cosmetics , from the Lipikar, Mustella, from the La Roche Pose series. We also take only one drug. We are going to rest, not to be treated.
Tummy ache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea? Be sure to collect sorbents and preparations for oral rehydration in the first-aid kit (we take only one preparation). Do not burden yourself, you can always buy more. Of the sorbents, we give preference to enterosgel, smectite, polysorb. For rehydration, rehydron, human electrolyte, biogaya ORS are suitable, solder slowly, gradually, in doses, 1 tsp every 5 minutes. We follow a dairy-free diet. Drinking plentiful, at the rate of 20-30 ml. per kg of weight. If the child does not retain water, vomiting continues, call an ambulance, infusion therapy is needed, there is a risk of dehydration. This is an emergency.
Stopped vomiting, but loose unstable stools persist – we take enterofuril, enterol . I would also advise taking enzymes (creon or microzyme), probiotics (normobact, baxet, florc. linex …) They are in the form of drops, sachets, capsules. When packaging probiotics, refer to the packaging for storage conditions. Many drugs require temperatures up to 15 degrees Celsius.
This can be put in the trunk. But with you on a plane or in a car, you need to take dramin (air-sea) . Dramina can be used from the age of 3. At the same time, during takeoff and landing, an infant can be given breast milk, an older child can be sucked on lollipops, for ear pain, otipax is dripped, and vasoconstrictor drops are used in the nose. Just distract the child, talk calmly, confidently.
So we come to the topic of drops. Be sure to put in the first aid kit vasoconstrictor drops in the nose (Nazivin, Otrivin, Tizin …), drops in the ears (Otipax, Anauran …), drops in the eyes (sulfacyl sodium, Vizin, Tobradex …). There was a situation when a child developed a clinic of contact conjunctivitis on the 1st day from a long stay in the pool, the sea. The family is abroad, it’s a day off, it’s a long way to the nearest pharmacy, the doctor will only come in the evening. I had to work as a pediatrician.
And now the most important thing – antiseptics . Miramistin. Chlorhexidine. Can be used externally and on mucous membranes. I really love hydrogen peroxide, but, according to some sources, storage conditions are limited – in a dark place, at temperatures up to 15 degrees Celsius. Although the retail network drew attention to the fact that it is allowed to store at room temperature.
Of course, in the first aid kit alcohol wipes, cotton pads, bandage . Earlier, in my student years, iodine and brilliant green, fukartsin were popular. And later they began to be produced in the form of pencils. I’m not very comfortable. Didn’t gain popularity. But non-alcohol-containing betadine, methylene blue work with a bang. It is convenient to put a few tablets of furacillin, and they take up little space, dissolved in water – a ready-made antiseptic.
What if the child has a closed injury? First aid – cold at the site of impact . The main thing is not to get lost. There is a way out of any situation. If you are on the street, run into a stall, any freezer has ice, a cold bottle of a drink. And then – traumeel, arnica, heparin ointment. If there is an open injury, stop the bleeding. If capillary bleeding is enough finger pressure, treat with an antiseptic. In other cases, an emergency call. Do not take responsibility for yourself, do not rely on chance. If the open wound is deep, it is better to sew it up in the first 2 hours, otherwise tissue edema and the risk of secondary infection develop later.
Dear mothers, on vacation, in no case should you shift the responsibility for your child to animators, instructors. Dosed exposure to the sun, in water, diet, sleep schedule are observed by parents. We are going not only to have a rest, but also to heal the children, so they should return stronger and healthier. And now the most important thing – care products. Be sure to use high-protection sunscreens (40 and above), we prefer hypoallergenic ones. It is better to check them at home, we take only reliable means. It is unacceptable to be in the sun without a hat, and it is better to take panama hats that cover your ears and neck. And the child should be in a light loose shirt.
Burn products based on panthenol, dexpanthenol. Of course, as a doctor, it’s not comme il faut for me to turn to traditional medicine, but with sunburn, ordinary fermented milk products help outwardly – low-fat yogurt, kefir, whey. All oils, sour cream are excluded. Under them, a lipid film is created and the risk of secondary infection. Plentiful drink, moistening are necessary.
If you have a chronic disease, take medications that you take regularly with you + an additional 1 week. Situations are different. And health is more expensive. And put the part not in luggage, but in a travel bag. Suddenly, the luggage will go by mistake to another hotel. Of course, if the child often obstructs, you need to take an inhaler with you – a nebulizer, nebulas with pulmicort (budesonide), berodual or ventolin, salbutamol.
I do not suggest that parents take antibiotics. Cough preparations. We are going to rest. This is a setup. The rest can be purchased as planned. And running a pharmacy that needs to be updated periodically, throwing out drugs with an expired shelf life, is not worth it.
More and more in today’s world both parents have employment and need suitable day care centers for their children. These early stages in a child’s life are very important to their growth and development. Choosing a good child day care center is vital, one where the adult won’t just plunk your children down in front of a soap opera all day and feed them Top Ramen. You should look for day care centers that provide learning programs and playtime for your child, along with a safe and healthy environment.
There are many different types of day care centers, ranging from basic nurseries to preschools that will provide more of a learning environment for your children. Some day care centers specialize in a specific age range, while others are more open. When you’re contemplating placing your child in a specific day care center, you should visit each one with your child. In this way, you can see how your child reacts to the other children who are there and to the caregiver. You want your child to be happy and comfortable.
While some day care centers provide a greater variety of activities than others, any good day care center is going to encourage positive interaction among all of the children. They will also have rules that promote good behavior, learning, manners, and child development. You certainly don’t want to have to worry that your child is going to develop bad habits from day care.

While you don’t need to go overboard in choosing suitable day care centers, you should approach the subject seriously and with thought. Your child is going to be spending a good-sized portion of his or her life in day cares and you want to make sure it is going to be a positive experience. Family is the most important thing in the world and you should make sure that your children are your first priority. When you are considering a day care center, you should look at where it is located and how much it costs. There’s not much sense in putting your son or daughter in daycare so that you can work full time and spending most of what you earn on the day care center’s tuitions and your travel expenses. If that’s the case, you might as well stay home with your child. However, if you do truly need the money, there are usually plenty of day care services available and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one close by that is reasonably priced.
Different Kinds of Child day Care Centers
While child day care centers are common, there is such a huge demand for this service that there are now quite a variety of options available other than basic day care. These include the following:
Home child care or family childcare
Child care services
Preschool
Nursery
Home child care tends to be the most popular option because it is generally more affordable and a smaller environment. While some day care centers are quite large and can provide better early childhood education, it is also more difficult for each child to receive personal attention. Day care centers that are based out of someone’s home are usually more personal and your child can receive more care and nurturing. Most parents want their children to be receiving love and affection, the care that they themselves would give them. They don’t want a day care business that is merely going to make sure that their child is still alive and adequately healthy.
Home child care providers are also more adaptable, generally speaking. This means that if your child likes a certain song sung to them before they take their nap each day, the home care provider is more likely to be willing to do that than someone in a larger day care facility. Most adult home child care providers are parents themselves, making them better able to understand and love your child.
Other Things to Think About
One of the first steps you should take after picking out a family day care center that you think will be suitable for your child is do a little investigating. This can involve talking to the parents of the other children that use the child day care center to see what they think about it. You should also always check to make sure the child care service you are considering is legally licensed to operate in your state. Licensing officials check criminal records and ensure that the child care provider has emergency response training and a safe and healthy environment for the children. As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to visit the child day care center that you are considering. You should do this at least a couple of times, and try to go at different times of the day so that you can get a better idea of what kind of schedule they have. This will help you to see how your own child would fit in. If you are having difficulties finding the appropriate child care environment for your son or daughter, there are some other options. Some people get family and friends to help out, while others hire a nanny. Adult nannies are a good option because they ensure that your child receives personal attention and quality child care. However, this also means that your child will not receive as much social interaction since he or she won’t have other children to play with like in a family day care center.
No matter what option you decide to go with, make sure that you know who you are leaving your child with. Meet them, get to know them, and let your child do the same. Do some research on the internet to make sure that no one has had negative experiences with the day care center you are considering. Check to make sure that they are legally licensed. Once you have done all of this, you can feel more confident and secure in knowing that you have chosen the right day care center for your child.
Switching Day Care Centers
Choosing Another Child Care Provider
So you want to switch day care providers for your kids but you don’t know where to start or what to choose among the plethora of options out there in this world. It is fittingly one of the most important decisions of a young parent’s journey due to the fact that a child’s first formative years up until the age of six is critical. It is important for parents to not just consider the monetary impact of these choices but also the emotional, intellectual, and social future impacts the choice of a day care provider will have on their kids in the long term future. So let’s discuss some general tips to consider for the parent and the child to consider when one is looking to switch day care providers within a short time frame.
First, you must consider the cost of attending some of the more prestigious and rigorous day care provider centers in your area. In some areas, let’s face the reality that the more money per month per child spent; the better the facilities and the educational value experience offered for your child. Things such as using smart boards and I Pad’s to enhance the learning experience is a very real possibility in these places. However, if a parent is budget conscious they can still afford this experience but it would mean cutting back on all or most non-necessity spending. This would include curbing your eating out habits as well as any leisure entertainment or travel activity and place that money instead into your child’s future day care home. If an expensive day care sees that you are making an effort to keep up with the payments; then they will be more willing to work with you and not let your child leave that place. For a child going to this environment, they need to consider whether or not they will fit into this environment, things like playtime, feeding time, and individual care of the staff- is it received well by the child? These will make the difference between choosing these ones or a cheaper alternative. Cheaper is not all bad if the quality and availability of care is there for your child in the first place.
Secondly, you need to consider your travel times and distance of day care relative to your work and other important places like the hospital, grocery store, bank, and places that you frequent on a daily basis. Is it near enough that you can get to your child should he/she become ill or need special attention so that the day care center can contact you and arrange a meeting with you the same day if needed.
Furthermore, you need to consider the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the day care center provider. Do not underestimate a clean environment for your kid to play and learn in with other kids. Your kid will enjoy making new friends in a clean and safe environment. Plus you as a parent will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your child will not be being home any unwanted germs and diseases into your house. Parents must also consider if there is a dispute over payment and care; how does the management and staff deal with such requests? If there is a lackadaisical approach to your core issues; then that is a bad prelude of things to come concerning your child’s care. Your child will probably feel like he/she is being neglected or not fed on time and will start to complain to you ever so slightly that something is not right. When they do, do not hesitate to take them out of that day care center and find another one immediately.
In a recessionary economy, it is okay and permissible for both parents and kids to demand the best care for their dollar. Make your day care dollar stretch by reading all of the material and brochures and visiting every day center on your list until you find that perfect fit for your child. It’s out there; it is just waiting on you to find it!
Child Care Options for Low Income Families
One of the most frustrating aspects of being a working citizen is not having the ability to afford childcare. The majority of day care facilities charge as much as $300 per week for each child. That amount is difficult for middle-class citizens to pay. Low-income families cannot fathom paying such an expense. Luckily, the government and the various states have developed programs that help low-income families get the childcare they deserve. The following is some information on those programs:
Extended Day Program
The extended day program can assist low-income working parents during the regular school year. Many school districts offer this program. The school keeps children before and after school hours for a small monthly fee. A parent can drop a child off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick the child up as late as 6:00 p.m. This program is excellent for low-income workers with daytime weekday jobs. The cost is approximately $150 per month for before and after school. The weekly rate is approximately $37.50, which is extremely competitive.
The attendants participate in various activities with the children before and after school. They help the children with their homework so that the parents have less stress when they come home from work. They give the children a full breakfast in the morning program and a snack in the evening program. Parents can opt to pay for the morning program only, the evening program only, or both programs. The evening program is the more expensive of the two because it lasts so many hours after the school releases the children. The evening program is $100 while the morning program is $52.
The Child Care Assistance Program
CCAP is a special program that provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families. People who are collecting TANF are automatically eligible to receive this assistance. Teenage parents who are working on obtaining their educations are also eligible for CCAP. Those who are not collecting TANF can still qualify if they are pursuing education that will improve their work skills and job opportunities. Parents can apply for CCAP assistance with the Department of Children & Family Services. The financial guidelines for qualification are along the lines of a $3,000 per month income threshold for a four-person family. The applicant must have proof of income, social security cards, birth certificates, and immunization records for all children. Application processing can take up to 30 days.
Head Start
Head start is a program for children between the ages of three and five. The program provides childcare services and medical services to the children who qualify. It is funded by the Administration of Children’s Services. The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a. m. to 5 p.m. Teachers work with the children to fine-tune their social and developmental skills. Those who are interested in the program may apply online. Applicants go on a waitlist until there is an available slot in the program. It is best for an interested person to complete an application as quickly as possible since the wait may be extended.
Child Care Voucher Program
The Child Care Voucher Program is in effect in many states throughout the United States. It provides a subsidy of up to 95 percent of childcare cost to low-income families. Subsidy recipients will choose an eligible provider from the list of licensed providers. They may also select a relative or an in-home provider. The Child Care Voucher Program covers the childcare from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is known as the traditional childcare period. However, the program also covers non-traditional times for parents who work odd shifts. It covers nights, weekends, and evenings.
A wide variety of options is available for low-income childcare. Many stay-at-home moms also run small day care businesses in which they discount their services. There is a way to make working and taking care of your children affordable.

how preschool education was born in St. Petersburg
10:00 Sun, September 30, 2018
Not many people know, but the history of the Day of Educators and Preschool Workers is closely connected with St. Petersburg. It is believed that the very date of September 27 was chosen, because it was on this day 155 years ago that the first kindergarten in the imperial capital and on the territory of modern Russia was opened. Why preschools in our country are called “gardens”, what young children were taught and how the industrial boom influenced the spread of nurseries – read in the City+ material.
The idea to start teaching and educating children in groups from an early age originated in Germany. It was first voiced by the German teacher Friedrich Wilhelm August Fröbel. Bright minds came to the conclusion that among peers, the child will be easier to adapt, and will also smoothly go through the process of socialization and preparation for school. In the early 60s of the XIX century, this idea crossed the borders of Russia. The first kindergarten was opened in 1863 in Helsinki (the city at that time was called Helsingfors and was part of Russia together with the territory of Finland).
The second in the empire, but the first in St. Petersburg, was a kindergarten on Vasilyevsky Island. It was arranged in a wooden outbuilding, which was located at the intersection of Bolshoy Prospekt and the 9th line. By the way, the place in the student district of the city was not chosen by chance. The fact is that Sophia Lugebil, the wife of a professor at St. Petersburg University, became its founder. Today it is difficult to judge what kind of person she was. However, most likely, this smart and active woman was carried away by the idea of a German teacher and decided to implement it.
“The 60s of the 19th century was the time when it was customary among intelligent people to engage in so-called free labor. Especially among women, who, even being well educated, were still often forced to stay at home with their husbands. This is also the era of change, reform and the reign of Alexander II. Against this background, the initiative to establish the first kindergarten was supported in St. Petersburg,” said Elena Lelina, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor at St. Petersburg State University.
At the same time, the name familiar to us today was assigned to preschool institutions – kindergarten. This is a conscious parallel to the Garden of Eden: the little child was as sinless as Adam and Eve before their fall. Therefore, those who are now called educators were called “gardeners” and “gardeners” in the 19th century. As a rule, these were pupils of orphanages who, before the advent of kindergartens, worked as home teachers. The girls went through a four-year initial training in educational institutions in Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg. In addition, they studied the rules of conduct and sanitary hygiene. Today, almost nothing is known about how the “gardeners” were trained. But the very fact that this word appears in archival documents confirms that men were also involved in raising children. Perhaps future teachers also came from orphanages.
Before the advent of professional educators, children were often given into the hands of not very educated people – nannies and uncles from among the common people. And not everyone was as lucky as young Alexander Pushkin with his nanny Arina Rodionovna, who told fairy tales, sang songs and had a strong influence on the poet. Therefore, among parents, they began to popularize the idea of sending their children to kindergartens. So that the younger generation would be “limited from bad wrong spiritual education”.
How preschool children were taught and brought up in Russia
It is believed that representatives of the middle class placed their children in the first kindergarten on Vasilyevsky Island more often. That is, parents who did not have the money to hire a home teacher. But at the same time, mothers were interested in going to work. More affluent people then only looked closely at the innovation. The child, as today, was left in kindergarten for the whole day. There were 20 children in groups, boys and girls were brought up together. All wards wore the same suits, and there was no class division. The administration only demanded that the child be clean and not sick.
“In some kindergartens, children were taken from three to seven years old, and in others even a year older. The fact is that at that time men or women were admitted to the gymnasium from the age of eight or nine. There is no data – whether the first kindergarten in St. Petersburg was paid or free. But it is known that in Helsinki parents paid for the services of educators, and perhaps in our city the situation was similar, ”said Elena Lelina.
Soon, in 1866, a second kindergarten was opened in Kovno Lane on the initiative of the teacher Adelaida Simonovich. This enlightened woman also began to publish the magazine “Kindergarten” (in 1864-1867). And very quickly, the public and teachers started talking about the need to adapt the ideas of German specialists on Russian pedagogical soil. The concept of nationality began to be embodied in the upbringing of children. If games, then lapta and catch-up, if fairy tales – then national, if songs – then Russian. Many hours were devoted to the development of native speech. When the children reached the age of six, they began to teach local history. And after seven years, the children were taken out into nature in order to study the world around them visually.
“It was the period of what we now call museum pedagogy, which became widespread in the second half of the 19th century. Then a person was taught by showing an object and talking about it. Gardeners also developed fine motor skills in their wards through drawing and modeling. Also, through their teachers, children studied national fiction. In those days, the program, as it is today, helped prepare children for school. After graduation, they had to be able to behave, think, express thoughts and answer questions. The system of education in the Soviet kindergarten was almost completely borrowed from the pre-revolutionary experience,” the expert believes.
Industrial boom and growth in the number of orchards
In the second half of the 19th century, industry developed rapidly in large Russian cities. The so-called industrial empires, like the Nobel Brothers concern in St. Petersburg, needed a large number of workers, both among men and among women. So that the worker could work even with a child in her arms, the capitalists began to open kindergartens near or on the territory of their factories and factories. They also organized nurseries, where women gave even babies. The workers fed the children and went to work, and after three or four hours they visited the child again. The child was looked after by the caregivers. So women got freedom from diapers, and entrepreneurs – a labor resource. The expert suggests that a small fee for kindergarten was deducted from the mother’s salary. But the main financial burden fell on the industrialists themselves.
Such kindergartens and nurseries were opened mainly at large enterprises, for example, on the territory of the firms “Triangle”, “Skorokhod” and on the same Vyborg side at the factories of the “Nobel Brothers”. The latter concern, by the way, opened not only several such institutions, but also accepted the children of workers from neighboring manufactories there for a fee.

Day Care Centers Site
Our Most Recent Additions to the Child Care Provider Directory
Wee Care Three
809 Coldwater Rd Murray, KY 42071 Phone Number: (270) 759-5425 Providing the child care and day care services:Day Care Center / Nursery, Child Care Provider
The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a.m.

Metrorail, Metrobus and DC circulator
The most commonly used transportation systems for moving around the District of Columbia are controlled by the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority (WMATA). This organization was founded in 1967 and serves local residents, passengers and visitors almost all day, seven days a week. Trips are paid through Smarttrip using a rechargeable plastic card or mobile payment. This national metropolitan system includes Metrorail, Metrobus, and DC Circulator. For specific uses of WMATA services, please see their Travel Planner.
Metrobus
Metrobus operates hundreds of routes throughout the city and throughout Washington, D.C., with more than 1,400 buses using compressed natural gas or a hybrid electric drive system, helping to keep D.C. green. As an alternative to traditional diesel fuel, compressed natural gas (CNG)-powered buses produce about 45 percent less hydrocarbons, making them an attractive option for green meetings. DC’s fleet of more than 1,400 buses operated by the Washington Metropolitan Transit Authority run on alternative fuels that are less harmful to the environment, including CNG, advanced technology diesel and ultra-low sulfur diesel.
DC Circulator
The slot machine DC Circulator receives rave reviews from residents and guests of the city. The bus costs $1 for all passengers and runs on six special routes designed to provide easy access to points of interest throughout the county. You can pay with exact change, a SmarTrip card and a 7-day WMATA Regional Bus Pass. Explore areas such as Adams Morgan, DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Woodley Park, Street, and Capitol Hill with a circulator. The bus even offers a dedicated National Mall Route for ultra-easy access to D.C.’s majestic range of monuments and memorials. Schedules for each route are available, and buses run every 10 minutes.

Visitors can easily travel from the District of Columbia to neighboring states, Maryland and Virginia. The region, commonly referred to as the DMV, has many opportunities to serve local residents and commuters coming to the county for business and pleasure. However, these modes of transport can easily take visitors outside the city limits. Options include the Fairfax Connector buses in Virginia, the Virginia train system known as the BPE, and the MARC Train in Maryland. Trivia questions are a great way for kids to practice critical thinking skills.Getty Images

By Kait Hanson
Trivia questions are not just for adults. Kids can get in on the quick-thinking, brain-bending fun, too.
Laura Linn Knight, author of “Break Free from Reactive Parenting,” told TODAY Parents that trivia questions are a great way for the whole family to engage in critical thinking skills.
In her upcoming book, Knight helps parents and their children find ways to decrease the screen-time power struggle.
“Trivia can be a great way to involve and entertain the whole family,” Knight said. “Put away distractions from devices and make trivia fun, playful and an educational fit for whatever age your child is. “
Knight suggested a “popcorn and trivia night” to get kids excited.
“I have found it most effective to plan game nights and carve out this type of special family time ahead of time so that everyone can plan for it and make room in their busy day,” she told TODAY.
