Description:

Hello,
I am Joyce Nieves, a licensed childcare provider serving San Diego families for 9 years now. We are excited to be part of a new community and are looking forward to opening our door to families seekingchildcare. We prefer keeping our enrollment to just 6-8 children, ages 3 months to 4 years old. We currently have one spot left.
If you would like your child to feel like they are with family, then this is the place for you. Health and safety are my top priority. I provide a comfortable environment where children can play and learn from each other under my guidance. Routine is key in my daycare; I feel this is the best way for children to grow into their independence.
For convenience, I am always available for phone interviews before meeting you in person. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Keep safe for now and perhaps we will meet soon.

We love Ms. Ana (or Mama as the boys call her)! Our son has been in her care since he was 4 months old and is only leaving now at 2 1/2 because we are moving. She cares for the kids like her own; they havestructured time, but also lots of time to play. They get breakfast and lunch, take naps, read books, learn their letters, numbers, colors, and more. We didn’t send our son here so he would learn all this, but he surprises us everyday with something new he learned at Ms. Ana’s. We will miss her and Papa a lot!…

Ms. Judy is a true treasure. She combines many years of experience with genuine love and care for the children under her care. Her daycare focuses on teaching kids kindness, respect, sharing, all while lettingkids be kids and have lots of fun! Whether it’s going on field trips to the park or zoo or museum, playing in Ms. Judy’s garden full of slides, Lego tables, ride-on toys, chalk boards, and lot of other opportunities for fun activities, or staying inside on a rainy day reading books and playing with trains, Ms. Judy always finds a way to make the day a success. My kid loves her tasty, healthy home-cooked lunches, and is proud of the pictures and various creative crafts he makes with Ms. Judy’s encouragement and help. As he’s gotten older, she’s added activities that teach letters and math, always keeping it low-pressure and fun. And all that for a rate that is beyond competitive. She’s truly been a blessing in our lives….

Miss Tammy is AMAZING! She loves my son and the other kids like they are her own! She is so patient and kind! I appreciate how she spends a few minutes chatting with each parent as they drop off their child.I’ve also never seen a child upset to be dropped off with her in the mornings. Many of the kids have been with Tammy since they were infants, and they are so sweet and gentle with my son. I love how Tammy does holiday related crafts with the kids — I’ve got a foot print picture frame with an adorable picture of my son! Tammy is a treasure, and I’m so lucky I found her!…

Our program is Eco-Friendly, so we want to emphasize the importance of children being outdoors so they may learn natural processes and become knowledgeable and appreciative of nature.
We do organic gardening. We compost our food scraps in compost bins and through vermi-composting. We do rainwater harvesting, and use grey-water to water the fruit trees. We have even gone solar!
We offer healthy meals and snacks. We provide foods that are minimally processed and mostly organic. We strive to follow The Environmental Working Group’s, “Shoppers Guide To Pesticides in Produce”. We serve “family” style.
It is great when we are able to eat what we have harvested from our trees and gardens!
We recognize each child as an unique individual. We seek to provide the most appropriate learning experience for your child by creating an environment that is child-guided and developmentally based. Our program provides children with the freedom of choice within structure, which encourages the development of problem-solving skills, self-reliance, and socialization. We believe that play is an important part of a child’s day. When children play, they construct their own knowledge of the world, physically, cognitively, socially, and this is the most meaningful type of knowledge. By observing how and what type of play the children are engaged in, this helps us determine the activities and experiences to offer the children.

There truly aren’t enough words to express how special Tender Care was for us. Our daughter started going there at 2.5 years old, and continued until she started kindergarten. I’ve been a teacher for 20 years, and I can say that Tender Care is hands down one of the best education centers I’ve seen. Tender Care provides a warm, safe and invigorating environment for kids to thrive. It is an eco-friendly center, which was really important to us. The daycare and preschool are run by Judy and Randy Randant and another teacher, Ana. The center has a spacious indoor area full of educational games and toys, and a lovely outdoor area with an art area, shade, bikes, a tire swing, and other fun items. They have amazing gardens in the front and backyard, and they live only a block and a half from a wonderful community garden. I love the philosophy of education that they embrace. Learning is done through exploration, and the children have many choices of fun, interactive activities. There is a big emphasis on social emotional learning, as well as caring for the environment, which I really appreciated. The children are taught to be independent. At mealtime, the kids take part in setting the table for lunch, prepping some of the food, serving themselves, when appropriate and composting. They serve breakfast, lunch and snacks and the food is of great quality, and most times, organic. They even harvest veggies and fruit from the gardens for their meals! There is a dedicated quiet/nap room where each child has their own little space to sleep, read or just rest quietly.
Judy, Randy and Ana all bring unique talents and gifts to the table. Judy is the director and makes sure everything runs smoothly. She is warm and welcoming, and loves connecting the different parents with each other. Randy is so fun and silly, and the kids LOVE him. I wish I had the energy he has! Ana wears many hats, as they all do. She helps cook the delicious food, and will engage in games with small groups, make sure they all wash their hands, all with a calm air about her.
One of the things that I really appreciated (and that blew my mind) is that Judy would carve out time every couple of days to send out photos to each individual family of their child engaged in different activities. She also would include a summary of what they worked on that week. It was such a treat to get those emails and feel like I was a part of my daughter’s day at school.
When our daughter started kindergarten, she was beyond prepared, and had already mastered many of the kindergarten standards because of the amazing job they do at Tender Care.
My daughter still talks about her time at Tender Care, and we will always be indebted to them, not only for taking such good care of her, but also for preparing her to be an engaged and aware member of her community….

We’ve been going to Mimi’s place since our daughter was an infant and LOVE it! Nika the owner is kind, courteous and so helpful when it comes to each stage of development. Our daughter is moving on topre-school now and we are sad to go! Nika and her assistant Melissa are educators first, teaching ABC’s, numbers/counting and always have fun theme’s for each month’s art projects. They put their heart and soul into everything. Our daughter is moving on fully prepared for school, not to mention with great manners! They host seasonal events where all of us parents and kids get together and everyone really has become part of our extended family over the years. Most of Nika’s business has been word of mouth but I wanted to post a review in case there are families in the North Park San Diego area looking for quality day care as we rotate out. Description:

21 Century Approach to Early Education and Child Care
At Take Pride Learning, our mission is to inspire and teach a new generation in a way that accelerates learning and to engage children at a deeper level oflearning. We believe that when young children learn the basics right from the start, they are more confident, social, and do better in school.
Our modern approach embodies the notion that when you teach a child a fact – he may remember it, and when you show a child an example – she can describe it, but when you tell young children a captivating story, set to music, the story and songs become a part of who they are, shape who they become, and stay with them for life.
I am a teacher turned entrepreneur and my dream is to change the world through education, imagination and technology. To do this we had to start at the beginning with early education. We created the award-winning iKnow Series: 5 interactive enhanced eBooks and supporting products to improve how children learn the basics.
We are looking for caregivers with early education/early childhood development to implement our 2-phase launch plan: 1) Online home membership and 2) The 30-Day adventure camp.
Our business is rolling out a 2-phase launch:
Phase 1: Sell membership and products
We are targeting your area of the country for very specific reasons based on research. Caregivers have the opportunity to sell iKnow Memberships and then you are their online Ambassador (care-giver) to make sure they have an amazing experience. This can be a 12-month a year position. Great way to make extra money!
Phase 2: The 30-Day Adventure Camp
The caregivers that demonstrate high volume sales, leadership, and the need for a center in their area will secure an integral job in The 30-Day Adventure Camp (physical location in caregivers city). Here we will run camps where 3 to 5 year olds come and participate in an early learning experience where they learn literacy, language, science, global citizenship and that there is great value in always doing their best….

She’s become a part of our family and I know she will be a great fit for the next family. If Sandra is available you don’t need to search any further. She’s a gem!…

Tatiana worked as a full time nanny for my autistic son for several years. She was punctual, loving, careful, and became an integral part of our family. She worked for us at the time my son received hisdiagnosis and not only did she do all the childcare things she was hired to do, she facilitated his ABA therapies by being the supervising adult during most of those sessions. She made sure that he felt safe and got as many breaks as he needed in the early days, and then incorporated the things that he was learning in to the everyday way that she communicated with him. I can’t say enough good things about Tatiana – we adore her and can’t imagine what we would have done without her. Any family would be lucky to have her in their employ….

Brooke served as a nanny to our infant daughter from February through September 2022 (ages 3 months to 10 months). She was patient, careful, and knowledgeable about the needs of a newborn including infantdevelopment and even aspects of separation anxiety, and we quickly felt very safe leaving our daughter with her. She was prompt and reliable, consistently show up on time or early – a relative rarity among nannies. She was also flexible regarding her start time. On multiple occasions, we asked her if she could come early or stay late with limited notice, and she came through for us with these scheduling changes. Brooke has a gentle, calm presence and is easy to be around. She is thoughtful, genuinely adores kids, and knows how to connect with them. Our daughter grew fond of her (as did we). She also gave us many ideas for helpful activities and things to buy that we wouldn’t have thought of and still use today. We recommend her highly and would hire her again….

The Pros and Cons of Birthing Centers, And Why I Ultimately Chose a Hospital Birth

Thank You for Sharing!

Inside: If you want a natural, unmedicated birth, a birthing center can be a great choice. However, you should consider both the pros and cons of birthing centers to consider before making a decision. Here is everything I considered about birthing centers before finally deciding on a hospital birth.

Home, hospital or birthing center… which is better for a natural birth as a first-time mom? Since addressing all of those options in one post would be writing a book, we’re just going to tackle birthing centers for now.

Birthing centers come recommended highly by natural birth advocates, especially if you don’t want to do a home birth. But just because it’s recommended doesn’t mean there aren’t pros and cons to consider.

Especially if you are a first-time mom who has never experienced labor and delivery before, a birthing center isn’t always the best option. Having more information from both sides can help you make the best possible decision for YOU (not your doula, not your birth course author, YOU).

After all, it’s your life, your birth, your baby. At the end of the day, the only one’s affected by your decision is you and your family.

So let’s dig into the pros and cons of birthing centers, shall we?

Are Birthing Centers Really Better for Natural Births? (the pros and cons of birthing centers)

We started our prenatal care for our first baby at a local birthing center. I really enjoyed the midwives’ hands-off (and naturally minded) approach to prenatal appointments.

It was important to me that I had a low intervention pregnancy and, ultimately, an unmedicated birth. I felt very supported at the birthing center and appreciated the way they offered medical options after sharing both risks and benefits.

At 25 weeks, my husband and I decided that, for financial reasons, we needed to transfer prenatal care and birth to the hospital instead of the birthing center.

I was really disappointed about transferring and was afraid that I wouldn’t achieve a natural birth in a hospital setting. Moreover, I figured I wouldn’t have an easy time sustaining a holistic pregnancy because of medical staff resistance.

Well, spoiler alert! I ended up highly satisfied with our experience at the hospital. I’ll finish up this post with my thoughts on hospital births, but first, let’s start with all things birthing centers.

The Pros of Birthing Centers

1. The medical staff is naturally minded and has a holistic approach that supports and encourages natural birth.

It is so empowering to have an entire team of people all cheering you on to have a natural birth.

It can absolutely a game changer to have a medical staff that supports and encourages your dream of an unmedicated birth.

The best part about having a holistic medical staff is that it doesn’t mean that you won’t be offered any modern medical interventions, it’s just that it’s offered only when necessary.

2. You can labor and deliver in a comfortable, homey room.

At a birthing center, you can labor in a cozy and comfortable room that is more similar to your own home than a hospital.

For many women, this is very important and can allow for labor to progress more smoothly (and faster).

3. Water birth is allowed and encouraged (not banned).

The benefits of water birth are backed by science and thousands of women who have had successful water births.

Water birth can help facilitate feelings of calm, safety and focus. They can shorten labor, reduce the risk of tearing, and more.

So, this is a big perk of birthing centers!

4. They deal with the mess of birth, which you can’t say for home birth where YOU have to deal with it.

Again, I just did not want to have to think about anything other than taking care of my newborn.

I also didn’t want my husband to be distracted with trying to clean up with the house… and for me to be helping him help me with afterbirth cleaning.

5. Birthing centers often offer more personalized care, with the potential to work one-on-one with a midwife.

It would’ve been nice to feel like I was the only person that my midwife/nurse was taking care of. Moreover, for practical reasons, it is good to have one consistent care provider so that your current medical information doesn’t slip through the crack during shift changes.

For example, it would’ve been nice to have only one person following along on our breastfeeding struggles.

Instead, because I was in the hospital, I had to explain what the last few nurses said to do every time a new nurse came in to help me.

The Cons of Birthing Centers

1. You are sent home after an average of 6 hours after birth.

This is both a pro and con – it depends on your birth and preferences.

I distinctly remember bawling my eyes out when I realized about 5 hours after birth that if we were at the birthing center we would’ve been packing up. That thought was so overwhelming (and so were my hormones) to me that I burst into tears.

But, I know women that say they wish they could leave the hospital sooner or that they love that they can go home quickly after birth from the birth center.

So much depends on your own personality and preferences. In addition, you may do just fine with a second or third labor but end up feeling very overwhelmed leaving so early if it’s your first birth.

Editor’s Note: A dear friend delivered her first baby at a birthing center. She was sent home six hours after birth, and then experienced a very strange episode of low sodium where she ended up back in the hospital for a day or so. They thought it was just an odd blip, but it turned out her pregnancy and birth had triggered a rare auto-immune disorder called Addison’s disease. She wouldn’t be diagnosed until more than a year later when she almost died from her symptoms. When I mentioned this post to her, she wondered out loud if she would have been diagnosed sooner had she delivered at a hospital. For her, the one major con of a birthing center (which she otherwise loved) was being sent home too early.

2. There are no meals delivered, no medications administered, and no on-site lactation consultants.

Not having meals delivered really isn’t too bad. No medications being administered is kind of crappy.

But, not having access to lactation consultants is downright terrible. Our firstborn would not have been able to nurse if there weren’t lactation consultants there to help us.

It is very possible that other birthing centers have more resources for breastfeeding help than I know of.

From what I do know, it would have been very hard for us to start our breastfeeding journey if we were at the birthing center because of our baby’s tongue tie.

3. Birthing centers have limited medical supplies.

The birthing center is designed to provide holistic care for laboring mothers. That means that the birth center will have some medical supplies but won’t have the more major modern medicinal options available.

This is both a pro and a con in some instances.

For example, even if you do end up wanting an epidural, if you’re at a birthing center it’s not even possible for you to get one unless you’re transferred to the nearest hospital.

For some mothers, it’s helpful that an epidural isn’t even an option. For others, it is scary and far too limiting.

4. You may need to be transferred via ambulance for c-section or any major complications.

Each birthing center has a slightly different protocol for when and why a birthing mother would need to be transferred to a hospital. Either way, it’s a possibility to consider.

Some birthing centers are located near, and even partner with hospitals to make these instances less scary and go more smoothly. This would obviously be the ideal scenario.

“The National Birth Center Study II showed that on average, about 4.5% of birth center clients will be referred to a hospital before being admitted to the birth center, 11. 9% will transfer to the hospital during labor, 2.0% will transfer after giving birth, and 2.2% will have their babies transferred after birth. About 82% of the women who transfer during labor are first time moms. Fewer than 1% of transfers are for emergency situations.”

-Birth Care Midwifery

5. The cost can be extremely prohibitive – you don’t want to start your parenting journey in debt.

Unfortunately, we live in a day and age when medical insurance still isn’t supportive of natural or holisitic health care. Many insurance companies don’t cover birthing centers as much as they do hospitals.

For us, this was the deal breaker. We did not want to start our parenting journey strapped for cash due to labor and delivery costs.

If you have your heart set on a birthing center, have the money saved, and are willing to put your money into that dream, then go for it. But I would strongly encourage you not to go into debt based on where you deliver – it’s just not worth it, and you can have a successful natural birth in a hospital, too.

Why I Went with a Hospital Instead of a Birthing Center for My Natural Birth

The first major reason was financial. Insurance companies just don’t cover birthing centers the way they cover hospitals, at least not our insurance company.

While that was the original reason, after experiencing natural birth in a hospital, there were several pros to a hospital birth that made me highly likely to choose it again, including:

  • Meals are delivered hot and ready, there’s no laundry to be done, and no dishes to do.
  • YOUR health is attended to – medications administered, medical care for stitches and such, breastfeeding help, etc.
  • Your BABY’S health is attended to – basic health checks, any specific health issues, and basic care (diapering, bottle feeding if needed, bathing, etc.).

In our specific case, I’m very thankful for the postpartum support team for moms, including lactation consultants. Our baby had a tongue tie that we wouldn’t have caught had we not been in the hospital with access to lactation consultants.

Of course, there were major drawbacks to having a natural birth in a hospital, including:

  • People being in your room all.the.time. It’s hard to rest.
  • While you can labor in a birthing tub, you can not birth in the birthing tub.
  • The hospital’s sterile environment doesn’t feel cozy.

The biggest con to a hospital birth is that it can be difficult to follow a natural birth plan and natural afterbirth care with resistant medical staff. Simply put, it can be exhausting, confusing and irritating to feel like you are fighting medical staff to care for your health in a holistic way.

Our birth went smoothly and without strife because I tried my best to labor at home until the very last minute.

One nurse even said, “Well, she didn’t really give us a chance to even do some of these things. It’s too late.” after reading my birth plan.

Exactly the point.

After our baby was born, we were immediately given papers to sign, things to do, and were given lectures about standard health procedures that “needed” to be done right then.

My husband was scared and self-doubting all of our research after a doctor came in and explained in detail the worst-case scenario of denying a common medical intervention for newborns that we chose to forgo.

Ultimately, You Need to Weigh the Pros and Cons of Birthing Centers Based on Your Unique Situation

We will most likely be having a hospital birth for our next baby.

My experience at this particular hospital was great overall, although I am keenly aware that natural birth experiences vary widely from hospital to hospital.

I think having a natural birth at a birthing center would be lovely for a second birth and/or if it’s financially feasible for you. Having a baby at a birthing center is also a great option if you have ample support and help at home, like if you have a super-dad for a spouse, your mom can come to stay with you, or you’ve hired a postpartum doula.

But at the end of the day, you need to evaluate your specific set of circumstances.

If you have your heart set on a water birth and are willing to put money into that dream, a birthing center is the obvious choice.

But if you are extremely nervous about possible complications, all the homey rooms and personal medical care in the world won’t make up for the security and peace of mind a hospital can provide versus a birthing center that isn’t equipped to handle complications.

If giving birth at a birthing center is going to put you into debt – deep into debt – you may need to seriously consider a hospital birth, even if it’s not your first choice.

Take some time to journal about your dream birth, and consider your personality and that of your partner. Look at your budget and decide just how much the birth you want is worth to you financially.

After you’ve done those things, look over the pros and cons of birthing centers again. See how they line up with the above considerations, and I guarantee you will have more clarity on whether a birthing center is the right option for YOU.

Is a birth center right for you? Weigh the pros and cons of using an alternative setting for your delivery.

You’re not crazy about the sterile, scary setting of a hospital for your baby’s birth, but the lack of medical help at a home birth makes you just as nervous. Birth centers provide an in-between choice for parents who would like to deliver outside of a hospital setting but with more help than they would be able to get at home. Still not sold? Here are the pros and cons of birthing centers.

What Is a Birth Center?
The American Association of Birth Centers defines a birth center as “a home-like facility existing within a health care system with a program of care designed in the wellness model of pregnancy and birth.” Medically trained and licensed staff will help you through labor, but are capable of starting emergency procedures for you or your baby if something should go wrong.

Pros of a Birth Center

  • You’ll Have Access to Quality Health Care
Birthing centers will generally have a group of certified midwives and different levels of nurses on staff. They might also have lactation consultants and a connection to a local hospital. “Most birth centers have a group of midwives who share the burden and responsibility of being ‘on call,’” says Aubre Tompkins, a certified nurse midwife. “What this means for the woman in labor is that she will likely have a midwife who is well rested and is well supported with quality time off, so she is not as likely to be exhausted.”

  • Natural Birth Options are Available
Birth centers are supportive of natural childbirth with options to aid labor, such as water birth, birthing stools and a relaxing, comfortable home-like environment. Many birth centers allow the woman to guide the labor decisions. If you feel like walking during labor, or taking a shower or resting in a bed, these are all options birth centers typically support.

Certified nurse midwife Kate Shantz adds that “the laboring woman gets one-on-one attention from the birth team, usually a midwife and an assistant at the minimum. It is a nice alternative for women that aren’t sure they want to birth at home or don’t live in a setting appropriate for birth.”

  • Help From the Hospital is Nearby
A hospital connection for quick transfers with minimal wait is possible, should an emergency arise. “Birth centers usually have a relationship of some kind with that hospital so the transfers can go smoothly and happen in a timely manner,” says Tompkins.

“Unfortunately, with a home birth transfer this may not be the case and valuable time can be lost going through explanations and the emergency room.” This helps ensure birthing centers are a safe alternative to a hospital for delivery and care of the newborn baby.

Cons of a Birth Center

  • You Might Need to Move
Unlike a home birth, you’ll need to spend time transferring to and from the center. Plan on staying for a short visit — some parents might find moving back home so quickly stressful. “Like a hospital, you have to leave your home when you’re in labor. Sometimes the move interferes with labor, slowing it down,” says Shantz. “The stay is usually six to eight hours, so just about the time you are ready to snuggle in with your newborn and take a well-deserved nap, you need to move again.”

  • You Might not Be Eligible if You Have a High-Risk Pregnancy
A birth center will not be an option if any complications or risk factors are present in the pregnancy. “Birth centers are designed for low risk women and pregnancies,” says Tompkins. “This means women with healthy pregnancies who do not have any major health conditions like heart disease, diabetes or epilepsy for example. They should also be carrying one baby who is head down at onset of labor. The pregnancies should be carried to term, meaning 37 to 42 weeks, for admittance to the center in labor.”

With any pregnancy, prenatal care, delivery and postpartum care choices, it’s vital to do your homework. Tompkins says her best advice to parents “is to do your research! Many people in our current culture spend more time researching their next car purchase than their pregnancy providers and birth place.”

Visit birth centers in your area, ask questions and look at reviews of the centers and the midwives associated with it. Shantz reminds parents, “the key to a successful out-of-hospital birth experience is that both partners are on the same page and comfortable with the place they have chosen.”

Benefits of operating a maternity hospital as part of a multidisciplinary hospital

During pregnancy and childbirth, any disease can be detected in patients, so the close interaction of the antenatal clinic, the maternity hospital and the multidisciplinary hospital is of great importance: patients are observed during pregnancy not only by the doctors of the antenatal clinic, but also, if necessary, by hospital specialists. The uniqueness of City Clinical Hospital No. 52 is that the hospital has all the necessary specialized departments for providing medical care to mothers at the modern level – a nephro-reanimation department with the possibility of using extracorporeal methods of treatment, a neuro-reanimation department, a hematology department, and an endovascular surgery department.

We present a clinical case demonstrating the successful work of a multidisciplinary team of doctors of City Clinical Hospital No. 52.

Patient R., 37 years old, was admitted to the maternity hospital of the branch of City Clinical Hospital No. 52 with a diagnosis of Pregnancy 29-30 weeks. Head presentation. Chronic glomerulonephritis. Chronic renal failure stage 5, terminal phase. Program hemodialysis. Nephrogenic anemia. Secondary hyperparothyroidism. Chronic hepatitis C.

From the history of the disease: for the first time signs of kidney disease appeared at 1999 during pregnancy, but after childbirth was not examined. Since 2007, he has noted an increase in blood pressure up to 160/90 mm Hg, swelling of the lower extremities, and weakness. The examination diagnosed the terminal phase of chronic renal failure. Started renal replacement therapy (hemodialysis) with the formation of a permanent vascular access in one of the regional centers of the Russian Federation.

Since July 2014, she received renal replacement therapy at City Clinical Hospital No. 20, severe hyperparathyroidism was diagnosed, the patient received conservative treatment and was preparing for surgery. In February 2016, a feeling of heaviness appeared in the lower abdomen, she was examined, and a pregnancy of 15-16 weeks was diagnosed.

Taking into account the patient’s desire to maintain the pregnancy, despite the presence of severe extragenital pathology, the patient was referred for registration at the antenatal clinic of the branch of City Clinical Hospital No. 52 and continued outpatient treatment with program hemodialysis on the basis of the 3rd Nephrology Department of our hospital.

06/06/2016 a perinatal consultation was held with the participation of nephrologists of the City Clinical Hospital No. 52: Pregnancy 29-30 weeks. Violation of the uteroplacental blood flow 1 B degree. Taking into account the duration of pregnancy (fetal viability), deterioration of fetoplacental blood flow (subcompensated form of placental insufficiency), severe extragenital pathology, it was decided to routinely perform early delivery by caesarean section in the maternity hospital of the branch of City Clinical Hospital No. 52.

On June 7, 2016, a caesarean section was performed. A live premature baby boy was retrieved, weight 1450 g, height 41 cm. Apgar score 6-7 points. The child was transferred to Children’s City Clinical Hospital No. 13, the patient was discharged home on the 6th day. The child is currently at home with his mother, his weight in 2020 is

Home births, pros, cons, pros and cons

Of course, it’s hard to argue with the tremendous decline in maternal and fetal mortality since hospital births using anesthesia, stimulants, and caesarean sections.

However, this approach became more and more negligent, since almost every obstetrician-gynecologist tried to artificially speed up the birth process, the newborn was taken from the mother immediately after birth, and the nurses kept shouting at the exhausted mothers.

Only by the beginning of the 2000s, the concept of childbirth in our country began to improve. Finally, it became clear that the hospital walls, the lack of comfort and the associated stress of the woman in labor are the cause of the complications during childbirth, which have been so diligently tried to get rid of for many years.

When a pregnant woman gives birth in a comfortable environment, this automatically reduces the risk of complications and the need for anesthesia or surgery. According to statistics, only 10% of births take place with the involvement of medical assistance.

But every year maternity hospitals change their attitude towards mother and child, offering comfortable conditions and a friendly atmosphere. And if you need the help of a surgeon or resuscitator, everyone will respond instantly.

Benefits of home birth

Psychological and physical comfort provided by home environment. Something similar can be obtained in a private clinic, but for a lot of money, which not everyone has.

Participation of a beloved man, parents or girlfriends in the process of childbirth, up to cutting the umbilical cord.

Choosing the position in which a woman wishes to give birth to a child: lying on her side, squatting, standing on all fours.

You can also lie on your back in the old fashioned way, but only this position has long been considered the most unfortunate for childbirth.

Personal midwife or OB/GYN who looked after the woman throughout her pregnancy.

Natural methods of pain relief: favorite music, warm bath, massage.

No risk of contracting infections from strangers (staphylococcus, measles, etc.) assigned photographer.

Why doctors are against

Home births can lead to health risks not only for the woman in labor but also for the baby. After all, the process can be unpredictable even with full physical health during previous examinations.

Moreover, future mothers who want to have a baby at home are supporters of everything “natural”. Therefore, they may categorically refuse to accept third-party assistance in the form of induction of labor or caesarean section, which are sometimes simply necessary and can save the life of a child.

The death of a newborn at home can occur for a number of reasons. Mostly from hypoxia. It is also worth mentioning the infection, for example, due to non-compliance with all the rules of sterility.

Unable to perform an emergency caesarean section. This is not so difficult for a midwife, but not everyone can track the moment at which surgical intervention is required.

Hemorrhage that has started and cannot be given a blood transfusion. Such a procedure can only be done in a hospital, even emergency doctors do not have the right to do a transfusion. As a last resort, the midwife may give an injection of oxytocin to stimulate the uterus, which still does not guarantee help.

Weak labor activity. In this case, the woman in labor needs artificial induction of labor or a caesarean section, but home obstetricians in most cases are opposed to this type of assistance.

Lack of pediatric resuscitation. In case of severe hypoxia or other complications, it is far from always possible to deliver the child to the maternity hospital.

Unprofessional midwife, which is not uncommon. Adherents of home birth, helping mothers in their difficult work, sometimes do not have a medical education, believing that “nature will help.

Victor made his Metropolitan Opera debut in their new 2017 production of Merry Widow as Raoul, and in the same year, his Broadway debut in its longest running show, Phantom of the Opera as Piangi.

Victor sang his signature role, Count Almaviva Il barbiere di Siviglia, at Minnesota Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Manitoba Opera, Portland Opera, Arizona Opera, Opera Carolina, Sarasota Opera, Coeur D’Alene Opera, Toledo Opera and with Santa Cruz Symphony.  Other roles in the artist’s repertoire include Tonio La Fille du Regiment at Lyric Opera of Kansas, Ramiro La Cenerentola and the title role Romeo et Juliette at Spoleto Festival, Romeo at Arizona Opera and Atlanta Opera, Fenton Falstaff at Cleveland Lyric Opera, Nemorino L’Elisir d’Amore at Kentucky Opera, title role Les Contes d’Hoffman at Dallas Opera, Nadir Les pecheurs de perles at Toledo Opera and Rinuccio Gianni Schicchi at Opera Carolina.

With a natural ability for contemporary music, Victor inaugurated the role of Benny “Kid” Paret in Terence Blanchard’s celebrated Champion in its world premiere in 2017 at Washington National Opera and later revived the role at Michigan Opera Theatre and at Opera de Montreal.   He appeared as Hosea Williams in Douglas Tappin’s I Dream, a piece based upon a series of dreams, reminiscences and premonitions leading up to a fateful moment in modern American history—the assassination of Dr Martin Luther King.

Other significant highlights include the title role Candide at Opera National de Lorraine in France, the title role Orpheus at New York City Opera, and Sportin’ Life in Francesca Zambello’s production of Porgy and Bess on tour worldwide; he also appeared as Rodolfo in Zambello’s La Boheme at Royal Albert Hall in London.

Making his off-Broadway debut, Victor joined the cast of Three Mo’ Tenors at the Little Schubert Theatre in 2007-8 and remained with the show when it toured the US and when it went on to play the Edinburgh Festival, in Moscow, the Dominican Republic, and the UK’s Henley Festival. The artist made his professional debut in Baz Luhrmann’s Rent, an adaptation of Puccini’s La Bohème, at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles in a record 82 sold-out performances, for which he won the coveted Ovation Award in 2004.

Robertson Davis – all books, biography, reviews, quotes

Robertson Davis – writer, journalist, playwright, classic of the XX century. He gained worldwide fame thanks to the “Deptford” and “Cornish” trilogies. Companion of the Order of Canada, recipient of the Governor General’s Literary Award, founder of Massey College in Toronto. He was the first Canadian to become an honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

William Robertson Davis was born August 28, 1913 in Thamesville, Canada. He inherited his love of books and reading from his parents, who were passionate bibliophiles. Davis attended Upper Canada College, a private boys’ boarding school, then graduated from Queens University in Kingston and Balliol College, Oxford.

He was seriously interested in theater. However, according to the memoirs of Robertson Davis himself, he “was not a good enough actor to make his living doing it.” For several years he worked as a literary assistant director at the London theater “Old Vic” and even played small roles. This knowledge was useful to Davis when he wrote the book “The World of Wonders”, according to the plot of which the main character is also immersed in the atmosphere of British theaters. While working in the theater, he met his future wife. In 1939 he published Shakespeare’s Boy Actors.

In 1940 Robertson Davis returned to Canada and became literary editor of Saturday Night magazine. Two years later, he began working for the city’s only newspaper, Peterborough. For more than twenty years as its editor, Robertson Davis was immersed in literally all the affairs of a small (only 30,000 inhabitants) town, which provided him with a ton of material for future novels and plays.

In the late 1940s, he wrote several one-act and three-act plays, which were staged almost immediately in local theaters. In addition, Davis has published many articles for various magazines. At 19In 1947, the writer published the book Shakespeare for Young Players, in which he explained his views on the theory of acting.

His next play, the one-act Eros at Breakfast, won the Dominion Drama Festival Award for Best Canadian Play in 1948. In 1950, Robertson Davis wrote At My Heart’s Core, a three-act play about three sister writers.

In addition, under the pseudonym Samuel Marchbanks, the writer worked on humorous essays: Examiner in The Diary of Samuel Marchbanks (1947), The Table Talk of Samuel Marchbanks (1949) and Samuel Marchbanks’ Almanack (1967).

Helped organize the Stanford Shakespeare Festival in the 1950s.

In 1960, Robertson Davis began teaching literature at Trinity College, University of Toronto, where he taught for twenty-one years. In 1961 he published his first collection of essays, A Voice from the Attic, and in the same year was awarded the Royal Society of Canada’s Lorne Pierce medal for his literary achievements.

In 1963, Robertson Davis became Principal of Massey College in Toronto, being one of its founders. In 1967 he became a member of the Royal Society of Canada and soon received various honorary degrees from Canadian universities.

When choosing what to read from Davis, you should first get acquainted with the “Deptford” trilogy, which consists of the novels “The Fifth Character” (1970), “Manticore” (1972) and “World of Wonders” (1975) . The second trilogy is Cornish. It includes the Rebel Angels novels (1981), “What’s in the bones” (1985) and “Lyre of Orpheus” (1988).

Died December 2, 1995 in Orangeville, Ontario.

Robertson Davis (full name – William Robertson Davies / William Robertson Davies) – a classic of literature of the XX century, one of the most popular and respected “writers” (as he liked to say) in Canada.

The future novelist, playwright, critic and journalist was born in Thamesville (Ontario). Surrounded by books since childhood, Robertson grew up in an atmosphere of art, and early began to show interest in theater and linguistics. His father was associated with the publication of the press, and, like his mother, was an avid reader and bibliophile.

Young Davis studied at the oldest Canadian private boarding school for boys, Upper Canada College, then at Queen’s University (Kingston) and Balliol College, Oxford in England. In 1939, he published Shakespeare’s Boy Actors (the original edition of this book is now worth $200 to $4,000 to collectors). He took part in student productions at Oxford, acted as an actor in small roles, worked for a couple of years as a literary assistant to the director at the London Old Vic Theatre. There he met his future bride, Australian Brenda Matthews.

After returning to Canada in 1940, he was literary editor of Saturday Night and published The Peterborough Examiner in Peterborough, near Toronto. Also, along with several other relatives, a little later, Davis became the owner of several more Canadian newspapers and other publications. Many friends and acquaintances from that time and stories taken from their lives will later find their way into some of the writer’s novels and plays.

He continued to publish articles and works on the theater, in the late 1940s he wrote several first plays (one-act and three-act), which were almost immediately staged on local stages. At 19In 1947, the book “Shakespeare for Young Players” was published, in which Davis’ views on acting were expressed. In the 50s, he helped a lot with the organization of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and memories of this formed the basis of three books written together with theater director Sir Tyrone Guthrie and artist Tanya Moisevich. Also over the years, under the pseudonym Samuel Marchbanks, Davis’ humorous essays and notes were published in newspapers, which were gradually collected in three volumes, and in the final omnibus volume “The Papers of Samuel Marchbanks” (1985).

The writer made his debut in major form with the novel Tempest-Tost (1951). This book opened a cycle of works devoted to the small towns of Canada and the complex relationships of their inhabitants over the course of many decades. Actually, on three monumental trilogies about such towns, as on three whales, the reputation of Robertson Davis for the majority of readers of the world is mainly kept.

From 1960 to 1981 he taught at Trinity College of the University of Toronto, since 1963 he became the rector of Massey College at the same university (in addition to being one of its founders). At 19In 1960, Davis’ first collection of essays, A Voice From the Attic, was published, but the whole decade was spent mainly in teaching.

In the 1970s, the writer returns to writing novels and gains popularity with his “magnum opus” – the philosophical and magical “Deptford Trilogy” (the novels “The Fifth Character”, 1970; “Manticore”, 1972; “World of Wonders”, 1975) , in which his love of mythology and magic, as well as his knowledge of the province and its inhabitants, probably reached its zenith. The intricacies of the life of the three main characters (with remarkably written characters), densely saturated with the motives of Jungian psychology, have not let go of themselves for several generations of readers. For this is a really talented and carefully tailored, stylistically elegant and devilishly fascinating narrative that layers reality and phantasmagoria, the bitterness of truth and the sweetness of lies, the dryness of history and the fragility of myth. In The Fifth Character, Davis appears as one of the most skillful players with the reader, and some of the tedium of psychoanalysis in Manticore is more than compensated by the dramatic plot and dirty motley underside of the circus in Wonderland, the final novel of the trilogy.

“Psychology for Davis is everything. He uses all the archetypes known to the world in order to make his characters more voluminous. The folklore subtext is immense – from the ancestral sources of Goethe’s “Faust” to the French allegorical “Romance of the Fox” of the 12th-13th centuries. Moreover, this semantic richness is easily perceived thanks to the conciseness and accuracy of the language in which the trilogy is written…” (from a review by Yulia Kachalkina).

Another “Cornish Trilogy” appeared in the 1980s and contained even slightly more substantial fantasy elements. It was compiled by the novels “Rebellious Angels”, 1981; “What is in the bones”, 1985; “The Lyre of Orpheus”, 1989. The first of these, along with the “Deptford Trilogy”, was included in the famous literary “Western canon” by the critic Harold Bloom. Davis’s last two novels – Murder and the Restless Spirits (1991, a story told by the ghost of a murdered man) and The Enchanter (1994) – were also successful, but the writer did not manage to finish his fourth trilogy …

In short prose Robertson Davis hardly worked, but every Christmas from 19At age 63, he wrote and read ghost stories to his students at Massey College. It became a good tradition for the whole 18 years. Published together in 1982, these stories made up a 200-page short story collection, High Spirits, which was deservedly awarded the 1984 World Fantasy Award.

Early Learning Resource Center – Region 15

Home / Offices / Early Learning Resource Center – Region 15

Who We Are

The Early Learning Resource Center Region 15 (ELRC) provides a single point-of-contact for families, early learning service providers, and communities to gain information and access services that support high-quality childcare and early learning programs. We offer an enhanced resource and referral system, childcare subsidies and early childhood educators supports. The Federal and State funding for this program is provided through a contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (PADHS) Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).

What We Do

The Early Learning Resource Center Region 15 (ELRC) provides childcare subsidy to eligible families. This is a parent choice system. Parents may choose any licensed, regulated, or relative provider who signs an agreement for funding through this agency and complies with State laws and regulations. The Early Learning Resource Center Region 15 (ELRC) may not make recommendations regarding selection of a childcare provider. Early Learning Resource Center Region 15 (ELRC) resource and referral staff can offer parents and caregivers a variety of resource information to local agencies, government programs, services, and childcare providers.

Resources are provided to parents/caretakers to assist in the selection of a quality care provider for their child/children. Early Learning Resource Centers are a trusted source to families looking for childcare, Early Head Start, Head Start, or preschool programs. Your child’s participation in a quality program will prepare your child for success in school and life.

Here are things to look for:

Is this person or program a safe place for children?

Do they meet the necessary regulations?

Have there been any complaints against them?

Pennsylvania Department of Human Services regulates childcare programs (family childcare homes, group child care homes and child care centers) to make sure they meet minimum health and safety standards.

Programs are required to post their certificate of registration or compliance, so if you don’t see it, ask about it.

Does the childcare or Head Start program participate in Keystone STARS?

Do teachers have training in early childhood education? Teachers in quality programs have education in child development, such as a Child Development Associate (CDA), Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.

Does the program provide activities appropriate for your child’s age and development? Teachers should observe your child’s skill level and provide activities that will help your child grow.

Does the program keep families involved in their child’s progress? Quality programs will talk with you about how your child is learning and suggest ways you can help your child learn at home.

Are the children happy and involved? Learning should be fun!

As you search for quality childcare, reach for Keystone STARS. Keystone STARS helps you know what to expect when picking a program. Childcare programs that participate in Keystone STARS meet standards for teacher quality, classroom and learning activities, working with you to support your child, and managing their program. Programs can earn from one to four Stars. The higher the STAR level, the higher the quality.

For more information and to find a Keystone STARS program near you, visit Compass or www.papromiseforchildren.com and http://raiseyourstar.org.

Philadelphia Health Management Corporation (PHMC) in collaboration with the Delaware County Department of Human Services for Early Learning Resource Center 15 (ELRC 15) will provide services typically part of Keystone STARS supports, including quality coaching and support in processing grants.

Q&A with Mr. Gabriel

Tell us about your experience working with young children?

I started working with children as a child care professional in my home 15 years ago, and I have been caring for children ever since. Opening my own child care program in my home gave me the opportunity to create the nurturing, happy environment that I think is so important. I especially love to take children outside to explore and play, but the truth is that so many parts of the day and the week bring me a lot of joy. Through it all, I focus on exploration and imagination.
One of the best parts of working with children is watching them explore and discover. The work is incredibly rewarding, especially when I think about how I’ve prepared children for pre-K. It’s such a gift to guide the children in my program as they grow.

What are the key areas of focus at your daycare?

Having a small group of children in my home-based program is great because I want them all to receive lots of individual attention, and this setting makes that possible. I use my knowledge and prior experiences to tailor programming to individual children’s needs, and I focus on allowing children to express themselves. We follow a daily routine that can vary according to child age and interest. Beginning with drop-off and free play, most days include curriculum-based lessons and activities, dramatic play, music and movement, outdoor play, and arts and crafts. My favorite time is outdoor play. I love to see their personalities and interests develop and shine through.
I want parents to know that I treat all the children as if they were my own. We’re all one big family here, and that includes the parents of the children in my program.

Can you tell us a bit about your home environment?

I have dedicated the finished basement of my Mattapan home to my program. The space is inviting and comforting because I know this becomes like a second home to many children. The organization of the space facilitates our daily schedule, and there are special areas for dramatic play, outdoor play, free play, circle time, and reading. We also spend lots of time outside playing in my fenced-in yard and walking together through the quiet neighborhood.

Rates & Openings

Daycare rates depend on how old your child will be and what your schedule looks like. 5 days / week might get a slight discount, and infant rates are usually more than toddlers’. Finding a spot also depends on age and schedule because each daycare has a limited number of openings for each age range.

Let’s find a really good daycare for you

Get your own recommendations based on your preferences, daily routine, and what matters most to you.

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.

What is NeighborSchools?

Hey there, nice to meet you 👋 We’re a new-ish startup that helps new-ish parents find daycare.

We know how hard finding good child care can be – especially for first-time parents. But really good care is what gives you the peace of mind to go back to work and feel confident that your child is getting the stimulation, socialization, and support they need to learn and grow.

So we created NeighborSchools to make this piece of parenthood a whole lot easier. We say “easier” because, let’s be honest, it’s still a big thing to figure out, but working together we can help you find some good options, understand the whole process, and choose a program you’ll feel really good about.

How’s it work?

Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care – so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.

Is there a cost?

Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools – we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.

How do I know if I’m ready to take the survey?

Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.

How do I know if a daycare has openings?

Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.

More questions? Text or email – we’re here to help.

We’re online Monday – Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.

Garcia Marquez, Gabriel – PERSONA TASS

Born March 6, 1927 Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Spanish Gabriel García Márquez, full name – Gabriel José de la Concordia Garcia Marquez) was born March 6, 1927 in the city of Aracataca in the Department of Magdalena in northern Colombia. In 1929 his parents left in search of work in the neighboring department of Sucre, while he remained in Aracataca with his maternal grandparents. Subsequently, many of the writer’s works were based on stories told by his grandfather, a retired colonel and a veteran of the civil Thousand Days War 1899-1902, as well as the legends and myths that his grandmother knew. In 1936, after the death of his grandfather, he began to live with his parents.

Education and the beginning of literary activity
Garcia Marquez studied at the Jesuit College “San José” (municipality of Barranquilla), in 1940 he entered the National College of Zipaquira (near the Colombian capital of Bogota).

In 1947 he became a law student at Columbia National University (Bogotá) and at the same time began working as a correspondent for the capital’s newspaper Espectador. It was there that his first stories were published (“The Third Humility” in 1947 and “Eve inside her cat” in 1948). In 1948 he continued his legal education at the University of Cartagena. He wrote articles for the Cartagena newspaper “Universal”. In 1950 he decided to quit his studies and focus on journalism. In 1950-1952 worked in the newspaper “Eraldo” in Barranquilla, published under the pseudonym Septimus. He was an active member of the Barranquilla Group, an association of local writers and journalists.
In 1954 he returned to Bogota and became a member of the editorial board of the newspaper “Espektador”. At first he wrote critical notes on feature films, then he became famous as a reporter.
In 1955, when his story “Falling Leaves” was published (the first work from the cycle about the magical town of Macondo), Garcia Márquez declared himself as a serious prose writer. His next work – a series of chronicles based on real events “The Tale of a Man Who Did Not Drown at Sea” (1955) – was censored by the government of the military dictator Gustavo Rojas Pinilla (1953-1957) due to the unfavorable presentation of the Colombian authorities (it was not fully published until 1970). G.).
Life abroad
To avoid government disapproval, the Espectador sent Marquez as its own correspondent to Europe, where he spent three years. He traveled to Italy, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and finally settled in Paris. Subsequently, he also worked in Venezuela. After the victory of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959, for some time he headed the new Latin American news agency Prensa Latina in Havana, and in 1961 he was a correspondent for Prensa Latina in New York.
Then spent several years in Mexico. It was there that he wrote his famous epic novel “One Hundred Years of Solitude” – the story of the emergence, flourishing and decline of the Buendia family in the town of Macondo.
In 1967-1975 lived in Barcelona. One of his neighbors was the Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa (they were friends until a quarrel in 1976, after which they did not communicate for more than 30 years). During these years, Garcia Marquez showed himself as a supporter of socialist and revolutionary ideas – he supported the socialist president Salvador Allende in Chile, the Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua, and the struggle for the liberation of Angola. In 1974 he founded the left-wing political magazine “Alternativa”, which was published in Bogota (lasted until 1980), actively participated in the “Russell Tribunal for the Investigation of War Crimes Committed in Vietnam” (founded by philosophers Bertrand Russell and Jean-Paul Sartre). Basic tips for caring for a newborn “Persona Childhood”

Specially for our readers, a pediatric neonatologist of the highest category, deputy chief physician for pediatrics at the Persona clinic, S. I. Kapustina, told several important rules for caring for newborns.

When caring for a newborn child, one must remember that his skin is very delicate, and various inflammations easily occur on it, and even slight friction can injure the skin.

A baby’s day should start with a morning toilet. First, it is recommended to drip into both nasal passages any preparation of sterile sea water, 1 drop or 1 injection. As you treat the eyes and skin, the contents of the nose will soften and be easier to remove. Eyes are treated with boiled water or freshly brewed tea using a cotton pad. Each eye is wiped with a separate disk from the outer corner to the inner. Face is washed with boiled water. Ears are cleaned with a cotton swab dipped in oil (Vaseline, peach or baby) from the outside only. A stick cannot be inserted into the ear canal, and it does not require cleaning. Nose is cleaned with cotton turundas, which are screwed into the nasal passage and then removed from there. In this case, the head must be held with the free hand, placing it under the back of the head.

After washing the face , all the folds of the body , knee and elbow bends, hands are treated with a cotton pad soaked in oil. Special attention should be paid to the treatment of the external genital organs. In boys, the foreskin is not retracted, and the skin around its opening is treated with oil. In girls, it is necessary to carefully process the fold between the large and small labia. This is also done with a cotton pad with oil.

During the day it is necessary to wash the baby after each stool with running water at a temperature of 37-38 degrees. Before placing your baby under running water, always check the temperature with your hand to prevent burns. For washing, use baby liquid soap. After washing, blot the skin with a diaper or soft towel and apply diaper cream, it will protect the baby’s skin from the irritating effects of urine and feces. You can use wet baby wipes between washes.

Bathing in the evening. Bathe the baby daily before feeding. The water in the bath should be 37-38 degrees (checked with a special thermometer). In the first 2 weeks of life, bathing is carried out in boiled water with the addition of a solution (by no means crystals) of potassium permanganate to a pale pink color of the water. 2-3 times a week when bathing, soap or bathing agent is used and the baby’s head is washed.

The child is immersed slowly in water and the skin and all folds are washed with a hand or a soft glove, then shampoo is taken (no more than 1 tsp) and foamed on the head, then the soap is washed off the head from the jug, water is poured on the forehead (try to she did not get on the face, it can scare the baby). In conclusion, the child is raised above the bath and doused from a jug. Gradually, the temperature of the water for dousing may become lower than the water in the bath. After bathing, the umbilical wound is treated with solutions of 3% hydrogen peroxide and an alcohol solution of brilliant green using cotton swabs. Next, skin folds and the nasal cavity are processed as described above.

Quite often, in the first weeks and months of a child’s life, parents are confused and do not understand how best to organize his life. At such moments, a competent, knowledgeable, experienced assistant is very necessary, who will tell you how to overcome the difficulties that have arisen and answer all questions. A pediatrician should become such an assistant, observing the child from the very first days, knowing and loving him.

Therefore, in the children’s department of the Persona clinic, we tried to create the most comfortable conditions for mothers and babies. Before the birth of a child, future parents can get a lot of useful information from experienced doctors and specialists in the Happy Motherhood cycle at the School of Future Parents of the Persona clinic.

However, a lot of questions arise when the baby is already born. In this situation, the doctors of the children’s department of the clinic “Persona” are always ready to help you. Patronage programs are compiled individually for each little patient. Thanks to this, the pediatrician and other doctors have the opportunity to pay maximum attention to the baby and his parents. The doctor will be constantly in touch with you, so at any time he will be able to answer all your questions related to nutrition, vaccination, treatment, hygiene of the child. An important advantage of patronage is also the fact that all examinations, examinations, vaccinations are carried out at home – in a familiar environment for the child.

The observation schedule for patronage programs fully complies with the state standard , but at the request of the parents, it can be adjusted so that specialists can examine the baby more often. There are several patronage programs that differ in organization and price, so that everyone can choose the appropriate option for themselves.

9 grandma’s advice on caring for children that doctors ask you to forget about / AdMe

Researchers say that most modern grandparents do not update their knowledge of how to properly care for children during their lives. Guided solely by personal experience, the older generation often gives young parents recommendations that have long been recognized as outdated. And many of them are not safe.

At ADME , we have studied parenting forums and articles from practicing pediatricians to understand what irrelevant advice and statements most often hear moms and dads of newborns.

1. Without swaddling, the baby will be clubfoot

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

It used to be that it was necessary to swaddle newborns, because it helps to keep the baby’s legs in a straight position. Allegedly, without this, the bones will not be straight and the child will grow up with a clubfoot.

But pediatricians insist: swaddling not only does not straighten the legs, but also threatens with violations in the development of the hips. Wrapping children in cloth is only to calm them down. Most of all, such measures are necessary for restless babies, children with neurological disorders or severe colic. However, if the baby sleeps well and does not feel restless without a diaper, it is not necessary to wrap him up.

2. In a house where there is a baby, it should be as warm as possible

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

Actually not. Overheating is just as dangerous for a baby as hypothermia. Patronage nurses recommend keeping the temperature in the children’s room at 16–20 °C.

Seeing this figure, your baby’s grandmother will probably throw up her hands with the verdict: “They will freeze the child.” But, according to doctors, at this temperature, the child’s sleep improves. In addition, in the coolness, the nasal mucosa does not dry out and it is more comfortable for the baby to breathe.

3. Dip a nipple in something sweet to soothe a baby

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

Many grandmothers recommend dipping a nipple in something sweet to soothe a crying baby. In some countries, honey is advised, in others – peanut butter and condensed milk. But pediatricians are categorically against such methods.

The listed products are very allergenic, and you can never know in advance how the body of a newborn will react to such additives. In addition, if the child has already started teething, sugar can cause tooth decay. And honey can also cause botulism.

Well, of course, in principle, giving a baby a pacifier has its pros and cons, so in this matter it is advisable not to deviate from the recommendations of pediatricians.

4. A baby’s bed must have a blanket and a pillow

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

In the past, most mothers approached organizing a bed for a child in the same way as if they were creating a small copy of their bed. The wooden crib always had a miniature pillow and a tiny blanket.

However, pediatricians remind again and again: there should be nothing in the baby’s crib except a mattress and sheets – no pillows, no blankets, no toys, as all this increases the possibility of accidental asphyxia. If the room is too cold, it is better to dress the baby in warm pajamas, but do not cover him with a blanket.

5. The baby should sleep on his stomach

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

At first glance, the advice seems quite logical: put the baby on his stomach so that he does not choke when he burps. But doctors have established that sleeping on the stomach is even more dangerous for babies than on the back, because:

  • this position can cause airway obstruction;
  • sleeping on the stomach causes dangerous pressure on the stomach and diaphragm;
  • this posture can lead to overheating.

Therefore, it is better to put the child on his back. But the head can be turned to the side.

6. The child should fall asleep in absolute silence

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

It can be quite difficult for an adult to fall asleep if some noise interferes: water drips from a tap or someone is talking in the room. But for newborns, noise sometimes even helps to sleep. There is only one condition: it must be uniform and not increase from the moment the baby falls asleep.

Newborns can sleep quite peacefully if their mother is talking on the phone nearby or if water is making noise behind the wall. Sometimes children even turn on “white noise” on purpose, because, firstly, they fall asleep faster under this monotonous buzz, and secondly, falling asleep at the noise, they will not wake up if you suddenly decide to vacuum in the hallway or wash the dishes in the kitchen.

7. You need to feed your baby according to the schedule

© Depositphotos, © Depositphotos

Not only grandmothers, but also some doctors recommend feeding newborns strictly according to the schedule. However, in reality, this approach to feeding exhausts the nerves of both mother and child. In addition, pediatricians do not see anything wrong with feeding the baby not by the clock, but on demand – not a single doctor will advise keeping the child hungry.

However, this does not apply to milk formulas, which are released immediately with the feeding schedule.

8. Complementary foods should be introduced as early as possible

porridge . But doctors would not give such advice.

Breastfed babies should definitely not be introduced to complementary foods at such an early age. According to WHO recommendations, the baby’s menu should be changed no earlier than he reaches the age of 6 months.

9. Animal milk is better than formula

©Depositphotos, ©Depositphotos

It seems that every family has a story about how a young mother once ran out of breast milk and a young father rushed to the village at a distance lands to buy fresh milk there from an old woman who kept her cow or goat. Moreover, this is usually presented as a feat: after all, parents saved their children in this way from feeding on milk formula, which supposedly contains only chemistry.

But doctors see this not as a feat in the name of salvation, but simply another way to endanger the health of the newborn. After all, a balanced milk formula is great for feeding children who are not breastfed.

But animal milk is dangerous for several reasons:

  • It contains many minerals that the kidneys of a newborn cannot cope with.
  • In this case, there is not enough iron, which can result in iron deficiency anemia. Vitamin C is also lacking.
  • Proteins in animal milk can irritate the intestinal mucosa.
  • Animal milk may be allergic.
  • And besides, due to the unbalanced composition, such milk can accelerate the child’s weight gain.

Therefore, you can give your baby milk no earlier than he reaches the age of 1 year.

Despite the fact that the older generation is mistaken in some way, we should not forget that our grandmothers are a storehouse of useful information, invaluable experience and support. No need to rudely refuse their advice. Instead, try to argue your point, read medical articles together, or invite your grandmother to accompany you to a pediatric appointment.

And remember that they do not wish your child harm, but want to take care of him just like you do.

Bright Side/Family/9 Grandmother’s Baby Care Tips Doctors Ask You To Forget

The Most Important Baby Care Tips. The best article-reminder for moms and dads

Tips for young mothers on caring for a newborn baby: what to prepare for the birth of a baby, how to care for, feed, walk, bathe, put to bed. Answers to the most popular questions of moms.

Contents

Moms who have given birth to their first child are sometimes in terrible confusion: preparation for the arrival of the baby and caring for him raise so many questions that you simply do not know where to run and what to do. Worry and despair are useless here, because the newly-made parents already have enough reasons for worrying. This article contains the main rules and tips for caring for a newborn, so it can be safely used as an instruction on all issues of concern to parents.

Preparing a dowry for a child

There is a superstition that it is impossible to buy anything for an unborn child, so some mothers do not prepare dowry for their children on purpose. These are just prejudices. For parents-to-be and all relatives, it is a real pleasure to go shopping, choosing tiny hats and undershirts. Preparing a “dowry” for a future mother helps to tune in to imminent motherhood. In addition, when the baby is born, there will be such a turmoil that it will be simply impossible for the baby to calmly choose, wash and stack things in piles. So, what you need to prepare for the appearance of crumbs into the world:

  • Diapers (In total, you will need about 20-25 of them. The ratio of thin and warm diapers is determined based on what time of the year the baby is born. By the way, knitted diapers are very convenient: they are very soft, stretch well and fit the body).
  • Blouses or bodysuits (Unfastened vests are no longer relevant, because they are not comfortable. It is best to buy several blouses with a button or ties and several bodysuits).
  • One-piece overalls (Insulated overalls will be enough for the first time, but you can buy several thin ones).
  • Hats (Knitted hats without ties are the most convenient. 2 thin ones and one warm one are enough).
  • Socks (Soft knitted socks are useful even in the warm season. You can safely buy 4-5 pairs).
  • Warm wool blanket.
  • Flannelette blanket or plaid.

Some purchases can be left for later and, if necessary, entrusted to grandmothers. These include, for example, mittens – anti-scratches. Not all children resist cutting their nails, so mittens may not come in handy. Another purchase from this series is a pillow. Babies up to a year old can sleep without a pillow, using a folded diaper instead.

We also read: a list of things for a newborn baby

In addition to things, you need to prepare a first aid kit for the arrival of the baby:

  • Baby oil for treating wrinkles (you can do with sterile vegetable oil), baby cream;
  • Pipette, hydrogen peroxide, vial of brilliant green for the treatment of the umbilical wound;
  • Zinc ointment for rashes and diaper rash;
  • Bathing herbs, potassium permanganate;
  • Vapor tube, cherry-stone heating pad, carminatives (Bobotik, Sub-Simplex, etc. (see all anti-colic products)) in case of colic;
  • Wet wipes, cotton pads, sterile cotton, spout rinse – for hygiene procedures.
  • Antipyretic (better in suppositories), antihistamine (Fenistil) (see all preparations for fever).
  • Absorbent diapers and diapers for newborns.

Depending on the situation, it will be possible to purchase diaper cream and powder.

View and download the complete list of first aid kit for a newborn baby – list here

Something for mom

After leaving the maternity hospital, mom will also need some things to buy in advance:

  • Bepanthen cream for cracked nipples.
  • Absorbent breast pads.
  • Comfortable nursing underwear.
  • Sanitary napkins (either special postpartum or normal but with maximum absorbency).
  • Postpartum bandage (for better recovery of the abdominal muscles).
  • Breast pads for feeding (what are they for and why).
  • Breast pump (how to choose and pump).

If everything is ready for the appearance in everyday life, it’s time to figure out and master the basic procedures that a young mother will have to perform daily and more than once.

Morning toilet: wash eyes, clean nose

Morning toilet is an analogue of our washing. Prepare a small bowl of warm boiled water, cotton pads and sterile cotton. We wipe the eyes with cotton pads moistened with water, making movements from the outer edge of the eye to the inner. Then, in each nostril, we instill 1-2 drops of special drops for washing the nose (you can use saline). We wait a few minutes until the crusts are slightly soaked. At this time, we twist small flagella from the fleece and gently clean the nose with them, making circular movements. You can not put the flagellum too deep. We clean the ears with the same flagella. Remember that a newborn baby can only toilet his nose and ears with cotton flagella. Children’s cotton swabs with restraints are intended for children from 1 year old. (See detailed articles on the topic: eye care, how to clean the baby’s nose and the article: caring for the baby’s ears)

In the morning, the umbilical wound must be treated. To do this, with a clean pipette, drip a few drops of hydrogen peroxide into the wound. The peroxide begins to foam, separating the crusts and “bringing” them to the surface. We remove these crusts with a clean cotton swab, and then apply brilliant green to the wound with another stick (details on the treatment of the umbilical wound).

Changing a diaper

Most modern mothers prefer to use disposable diapers. A baby has to change a disposable diaper about 10 times a day: the child should not be in one diaper for more than 3-4 hours, and besides, you need to change the diaper every time the baby has pooped. The second point, moreover, must be performed even at night, because the feces are not absorbed by the diaper and irritate the skin.

Wash your baby before changing a diaper. If he crap one’s pants – with soap, if not – with warm tap water (if it is not possible to wash it – wipe it with wet wipes). If there is irritation, you can apply a diaper cream on the skin, if not, just let the skin dry.

Be sure to take care of the umbilical wound and make sure that the diaper fastener does not rub it. There are special diapers for newborns who have a notch in place of the navel. If you use others, fold the edge of the diaper or cover your navel with a piece of sterile bandage.

Let’s go for a walk

If the child is healthy, you can walk with him from the first day of life. Regarding children’s walks, the rule “nature has no bad weather” is true. You can cancel a walk only if there is severe frost, abnormal heat or other extreme weather conditions outside. In bad weather, you can take the cradle with the baby to the balcony.

Babies usually sleep in the stroller, so the mother can choose the time for a walk at her own discretion. It is better to start walking from 30-40 minutes, gradually increasing the time of the walk. Over time, you can walk up to 4-6 hours a day, dividing this time into 2 “sets”.

The most important thing is to dress your baby according to the weather, take wet wipes, a changeable diaper and a rain cover for the stroller.

We feed

If there are no contraindications, the child should only be breastfed. WHO recommends exclusively breast milk up to 6 months, which means that even water should not be given until this age, not to mention juices and fruit purees.

Feed the baby on demand. This means that for any crying and anxiety, the mother offers the baby a breast. The baby can stay at the breast until it releases itself. It is not worth interfering in this process and trying to regulate the sucking time: nature and instincts are “smarter” than our mind, the child himself knows how much and how often he needs to suckle.

Bath procedures

Bathe your baby every day. The temperature of the water for bathing should be about 37 degrees, but here it is better to focus on the child: someone behaves calmer in cooler water, someone in warmer water.

Boiling water for bathing, as was done in the past, is now not recommended, but until the umbilical wound has healed, it is better to add manganese to the water – it acts as an antiseptic. The potassium permanganate solution should be pale pink. After the wound has healed, if there are skin problems, you can bathe the baby in herbs.

For newborns, it is better to use a small bath. For the first baths, you can wrap the baby in a diaper so that he is not scared of the water. You can wash your child with soap and other products 2-3 times a week, and the rest of the time you can do with water. When bathing, do not forget to wash your hair. At the end of bathing for hardening, you can pour cool water over the baby’s legs.

After bathing, the baby should be well wrapped in a warm diaper or towel. The head also needs to be covered.

Details: how to bathe newborns

After bathing

After bathing, you also need to perform some procedures:

  • Treat the umbilical wound in the same way as we did in the morning.
  • Trim nails while they are soft with water.
  • Wipe all wrinkles with oil (including the area behind the ears – crusts often form there).

Watch a video of how the baby is bathed:

Going to bed

Most breastfeeding babies fall asleep at the breast. You can rock the baby in your arms, and then carefully transfer it to the crib. The experience of mothers shows that it is better to swaddle babies for sleep: so their own movements do not cause them any concern, they are not afraid of their own arms or legs. By the way, it is better to buy a cradle for a newborn baby, not a crib. Limited space is more comfortable for a baby than a spacious bed that is not proportionate to his body.

The room must be ventilated before going to bed. It is believed that the optimal temperature for the room where the baby sleeps is about 20 degrees.

It is impossible to put the baby to sleep on his back – in a dream, the baby can burp and choke on vomit. To prevent the baby from rolling over on his back, laying him on his side, support his back with a small pillow or a folded blanket. The position of the sleeping baby should be periodically changed, shifting it from one side to the other. This is necessary so that the bones of the skull are not deformed.

The most popular questions that concern young mothers

A quivering young mother shudders at every sneeze of her baby and falls into confusion in front of many unfamiliar phenomena. Let’s try to deal with the most common questions of young mothers.

Odd color and dryness of the baby’s skin

The skin of a newly born baby may have a reddish, yellowish tint. The first is due to a very thin layer of subcutaneous fat: the red tint is the blood vessels that show through the skin. Yellowness (jaundice) is the result of an increased content of bilirubin and goes away when the liver begins to work more actively.

Dryness and flaking of the skin is also normal. In this way, the skin adapts to the new air environment. Usually peeling disappears a month after birth. You can speed up this process by lubricating the flaky areas with baby cream or oil (see article: Why do newborns have flaky skin on the head and body – what mom needs to know) .

Detail: proper skin care for a newborn baby

Baby hiccups

Many babies start hiccuping in the stomach. Usually, hiccups in babies occur due to excess air that has entered the stomach during feeding. The best way to get rid of it is to scold the baby with a “column” and give a tummy massage ( article on hiccups and how to deal with it ).

The child spit up

The regurgitation is a consequence of the underdevelopment of the digestive system and a special children’s mechanism of “fight” with overeating. As a preventative measure, make sure that the baby is properly latching onto the breast (so he does not swallow too much air), and keep him in a “column” after feeding. In general, regurgitation is not at all dangerous. Normally, once a day, a child can even burp with a “fountain”. If this happens more often and regurgitation lasts longer than 6 months, you should consult a neurologist ( see article on regurgitation ).

The child sneezes and coughs

If there are no signs of a cold (runny nose, high temperature) – these are natural self-purification reflexes of the body from mucus in the throat and nose.

Important:

  • Cough in a child (how to treat)
  • Temperature (how to treat)
  • Runny nose (how to treat)

How to dress your baby

The baby’s body is still bad at retaining heat and maintaining a constant temperature. This must be taken into account both at home and on the street. Excessively wrapped up, the child can easily be overheated, and leaving undressed – on the contrary, supercool. The main dressing rule for a toddler is to dress as you are + one layer of clothing.

Baby clothes should be made from natural fabrics, have a comfortable design and secure fasteners. It is best to choose blouses and overalls that can be easily put on without twisting the arms and legs of the child and without pushing the head into the narrow neck. All accessories (buttons, buttons) must be of high quality and securely sewn so that the little one cannot tear off and swallow a small piece of clothing.

How to understand if the baby is warm

The temperature of the arms and legs does not mean anything in this matter, because they are often cool in babies due to poor thermoregulation. To understand if the child is warm, you need to touch his neck: if it is cool, it is better to dress the baby warmer.

Can I give my baby a pacifier?

If there are plans for successful and long-term breastfeeding, it is better not to, in any case, up to 6 months, until lactation is fully established. The nipple confuses the child, he begins to confuse the mother’s breast and its silicone substitute, and may refuse the breast altogether. In addition, there is an opinion that sucking a nipple has a bad effect on the formation of bite. Reading on the topic: how to choose a pacifier and how to wean it from a pacifier

What to do if a child sucks his thumb?

Thumb sucking is a manifestation of the sucking reflex characteristic of infants. The first thing to do is to offer the baby a breast: he may be hungry. Thumb sucking can be a stress response: the baby sucks to calm down. In any case, this cannot be ignored. Try to understand the cause and eliminate it ( see how to wean a child from sucking fingers ).

Is it worth it to run to the child at the first cry and take him in your arms?

The answer is unambiguous – yes. Whatever the reason for crying, it cannot be ignored. A child may cry not only from hunger and physical discomfort. He may simply need his mother’s affection and warmth – this is the same vital need that must be satisfied ( see how to understand the reasons for the crying of a newborn baby ).

How to deal with colic?

Prevention is always better than cure, therefore, as part of prevention, lay the baby on the tummy, do a gentle massage of the tummy, wear it in a “column” after eating. If the attack nevertheless began – give the medicine, attach something warm to the tummy (a heating pad, a diaper heated with an iron). In emergency cases, when nothing helps and the attack does not go away – put a gas outlet tube Important: how to save a child from colic.

How to deal with a child so as not to frighten him?

Newborn babies react very specifically to sounds: under the monotonous rumble of a vacuum cleaner, a baby can sleep peacefully, but sharp loud sounds scare the baby very much. It is absolutely not necessary to surround the baby with silence, but so that the child is not afraid, harsh sounds should be avoided.

In general, all movements and actions of the mother should be smooth. The baby can be very frightened if, when bathing, he is abruptly immersed in water, or if he is abruptly put on the changing table. Until the child has adapted, everything that surrounds him in the “big world” can cause anxiety, so caution is needed in everything.

Reading on the topic: What to do if your child is afraid of loud noises

What to do if diaper rash appears?

Almost all mothers face this trouble. Red crusts and severe irritation appear when the baby’s skin is in contact with moisture for a long time. Contrary to prejudice, diaper rash in a child appears much less frequently in disposable diapers than in diapers. If the diaper is not overfilled, moisture is absorbed into it quickly and the baby’s skin has almost no contact with it, so it is not worth abandoning the diaper in favor of diapers in case of diaper rash.

Irritated skin needs healing and hydration. It is not necessary to constantly wash the baby with soap with diaper rash: soap dries the skin a lot and only increases the feeling of discomfort. It is necessary to wash the baby with water, and then lubricate the irritated area with oil or a healing cream (Bepanten, Bübchen). Be sure to arrange air baths, that is, leave the baby just naked, without a diaper and a diaper. When bathing in the evening, you can use herbs (chamomile, string) – they also have a healing effect.

Advice for dads

Read: Why are you tired? You are sitting at home! Or a memo to husbands who do not understand all the “charms” of maternity leave

The main advice for dads is to properly prepare for the meeting of his wife from the maternity hospital. Flowers, balloons, and room decorations are great, but any mom will appreciate more if you free her from homework, which can accumulate a lot in a few days in the maternity hospital. After discharge from the hospital, you want to get home as soon as possible in order to finally wash in your bath and lie on your bed, so that mountains of unwashed dishes and scattered things will not please your spouse at all. In addition, not all women are ready to flutter after childbirth. Most feel unimportant: weakness, pain from stitches, fatigue. This must be taken into account not only at the time of discharge, but also in general for the first time after the birth of the baby. To get into the rhythm and start coping with the child and household chores, a young mother needs time.

Caring for a newborn only at first glance seems to be something very complicated. Within a month, any mother does all the manipulations “with her eyes closed” and, by the intonation of crying, she understands that her beloved child is worried. The most important thing in caring for a baby is to do everything with love and “get involved” in the life of a little man as much as possible.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Sharon KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • My son started kindercare in Sharon, and he was very shy and wouldn’t speak. But with the help of KinderCare teachers, he was able to learn so many things, as well as catching up to his level and speaking in full sentences. My son loves KinderCare and his teachers!

    Rica – KinderCare Parent
  • My daughter may not remember the names of her classmates but she talks about her teacher, Ms. Deb, a lot. When Ms. Deb was out sick, my daughter told her they had missed her. I would say that is a high compliment from a three-year-old.

    Jeremy H. – KinderCare Parent
