how the accessible environment in Mogilev is being transformed

For an impressive number of residents of Mogilev with disabilities, the realization of their right to participate in political, economic, social and cultural life is directly related to unimpeded access to infrastructure. Creating an accessible environment in the city is a thorny, time-consuming process, but, of course, necessary. To what extent the urban system of Mogilev has changed in recent years, the correspondent of the information portal Mogilove. by studied

For whom and for what?

Hearing the term “accessible environment”, many first of all remember people with impaired functions of the musculoskeletal system, vision or hearing. But do not forget that the concept affects a much wider section of society. you must have met elderly people on the streets of the city who conquered the tops of huge curbs with a cane, as well as mothers with strollers trying to get into stores without ramps.

Accessibility makes life easier for many people: injured people, mothers with prams, the elderly, cyclists and even travelers with luggage.

Correct the situation

Nowadays, it is not uncommon to face the mistakes of the past and correct them. A vivid example is the premises in which the Social Services Centers for the population of the Leninsky and Oktyabrsky districts of Mogilev are now based.

After large-scale repair and construction works, horizontal platforms appeared in front of the entrances to the premises, smooth ramps equipped with rounded handrails were installed, tactile tiles were laid, personnel call buttons were installed. Let’s pay attention to the fact that there is a contrasting color of the first and last steps of the flights of stairs.

— The width of the doorways in the offices is more than 80 cm, there are no thresholds. For the free movement of people using wheelchairs, the width of the corridors is also provided, – conducting a tour of the day care department for the disabled, explains the director of the Center for Social Services of the Oktyabrsky District Viktor Kovalchuk . — The offices of the department are marked with tables with duplication of the main visual information in Braille. Tactile floor indicators are laid around the entire perimeter of the compartment. Mnemonic circuits and sound speech informants are installed.

As Elena Devbunova, head of the day care department for the disabled of the Leninsky district of Mogilev, noted, people with musculoskeletal disorders are brought to the department and back home by car with a lift. For wheelchair users, a mobile and convenient device has also appeared – a caterpillar stair lift.

In order to integrate people with hearing impairments into society and improve their quality of life, the department for labor, employment and social protection of the Mogilev City Executive Committee, together with the Mogilev regional organization of the public association “Belarusian Society of the Deaf”, is implementing a state social order for the provision of social mediation services for the reception – transmission of messages of people with hearing impairment to emergency and other services of the city.

The main means of communication for most people with hearing impairments is sign language, which has its own vocabulary and grammar. The existing infrastructure does not fully meet the communication needs of this category of citizens. Socially significant facilities (healthcare institutions, internal affairs bodies, utilities, etc.) for the most part do not have sign language interpreters in their staff, which makes it difficult for a person with a hearing impairment to receive information and services.

The provision of social services around the clock allows you to quickly solve the problems that arise in people with hearing impairment in the event of emergency and socially significant issues.

Over 1500 mediation services were rendered to 172 people with hearing impairments during 7 months of the current year.

Modernity dictates new rules

Since the beginning of the century, the topic of accessible environment has been more actively discussed throughout the country. A significant achievement in this niche is the reformation of the building codes of the Republic of Belarus, which begins in 2012. Since 2021, in accordance with modern design standards, the following measures are envisaged in construction to create a barrier-free environment for physically weakened persons: the installation of speech sound informants with remote control, the installation of plates indicating the floor number in embossed letters in Braille, the arrangement of platforms in front of the entrances with a smooth interface with landscaping elements, installation of tactile warning tiles and lowered curb stone, arrangement of parking spaces for people with disabilities.

– We are also trying to install lifting platforms with vertical movement for the disabled. For example, they appeared in residential buildings of the Sputnik 2 microdistrict, residential buildings No. 1 and No. 4 on the street. Ivan Mazalov, No. 70 on the street. Grishin, – notes the head of the construction department of the Mogilev City Executive Committee Andrey Belyavsky . – Recently, many objects of engineering and transport infrastructure have been introduced. The same Krupskaya Street, where tactile tiles with lowered curbstones are used at pedestrian crossings, and electronic sound speech informants with remote control are installed at two public transport stops, all this is a worthy example of a quality overhaul.

Heroes of our time

Unitary enterprise “Tiflos” NGO “BelTIZ”, part of the society of the visually impaired, develops design documentation for the arrangement of an accessible environment for people with limited vision or its complete absence, manufactures tactile elements from various materials and different designs, and also performs installation work on their installation.

“Today more than 60% of people with disabilities work at our enterprise,” says the first deputy director, chief engineer of the unitary enterprise “Tiflos” of the NGO “BelTIZ” Andrey Gavrilenko . – We are the only ones in the Mogilev region who are engaged in the manufacture and arrangement of an accessible environment for the visually impaired. Our employees design, manufacture tactile elements, perform construction and installation works. When an accessible environment is arranged at any facility, we offer the customer a set of works: installation of not only guiding and warning elements, but also mnemonic diagrams, sound speech informants. On the account of the enterprise, the performance of work in almost all regional centers and many regional ones.

The company aims to promote, organize and implement a comprehensive rehabilitation of the visually impaired and social adaptation, the creation of a universal environment for people with impaired vision or its complete loss.

Andrei Mikhailovich clarifies that the installation of accessible environment elements must be included in projects for the creation of new buildings, as well as in projects for ongoing capital repairs.

It is also important that organizations that own public buildings want to introduce a barrier-free environment into urban space, realizing the social significance of this process.

In turn, the Mogilev enterprise with a 90-year history is ready to vouch for the quality of its products and sincerely wants to establish relations with public and private organizations, individual entrepreneurs who want to help people with disabilities and make their lives more comfortable.

According to the Department of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Mogilev City Executive Committee, starting from 2021, measures were taken to create a barrier-free environment in five multi-apartment residential buildings, and the h3O sports and recreation complex was put into operation, which is fully accessible to people with disabilities . Polyclinics No. 2 and 3 can also be safely called advanced in this direction.

Sources of opinions

Chairperson of the Mogilev regional organization of NGO “BelTIZ” shared her opinion on the evolution of the urban environment Natalia Panteleeva :

— We feel it in the city. But, unfortunately, people who create an accessible environment do not always understand us – those for whom even the smallest stretch of road with certain defects is equated to an abyss. I’ll give you an example. Inside, the modern polyclinic No. 3 was equipped really worthy. However, no one paid attention to the fact that it is necessary to put a tactile guide strip for the blind along the road from the bus stop to the medical facility. But without it, it is incredibly difficult for us to find the right direction on our own!

Natalya Vasilievna also noted that in addition to architectural barriers, very often people with special destinies face informational, cultural and social barriers.

Many people with disabilities feel embarrassed about their situation and because of the fear of facing the realities of life, as well as ignorance, do not even think to seek help from psychologists, look for a job, plan for the future.

Volunteer of the rehabilitation room for the visually impaired, functioning on the basis of the Center for Social Services of the Leninsky District, Roman Dvortsov explains that visually impaired people often face barriers that come from fellow citizens. For example, the indifference of the attendants in stores, the lack of knowledge of the elementary etiquette of communicating with the blind.

— We must educate a generation of understanding people. I am sure that even one extra-curricular lesson in elementary school, teaching children how to properly interact with blind people, one day may come in handy for them, Roman sums up.

Margarita Mankevich , head of the Rehabilitation Room for the Visually Impaired:

— A few things are vital for blind people: the operation of traffic lights, the quality of roads. I think it is necessary to legally approve the installation of traffic lights with sound signals. Since traffic lights are not a pleasure, not a joy and not an indulgence, but a very serious element of the safety of people’s lives on the road. An important point is that we, blind people, should hear several options for sound: one that will indicate red light, the other green. After all, if you see with your eyes, then I “see” with your ears. In addition, the traffic light should be heard from afar, because first we need to find a pedestrian crossing, and then cross it. And most importantly, voice points should be on both sides of the road. Let me remind you that visually impaired people also need contrast marking of stairs.

Olga Botnari, ten-time champion of Moldova, world record holder in powerlifting:

— I was engaged in powerlifting, table tennis, weightlifting — love for an active lifestyle is in my blood. She moved from Chisinau to Mogilev almost 6 years ago. For some reason, since childhood, I was drawn to Belarus. Here I started life from scratch and now I adore the city with all my heart. I am surrounded by kind people, beautiful nature. I also notice that the formation of a barrier-free environment for wheelchair users does not stand still. Yes, I usually spend my free time in the central part of the city or near the Mogilev special home for veterans, the elderly and the disabled, where I live. I like to visit the nearby shops, I am glad that I can contact the doctors of the 3rd polyclinic, which is really well equipped. But trips by public transport sometimes turn into tests. It is important for me to get on a low-floor bus, which is why I always call the car park in advance. It happens that such buses are not allowed on a flight suitable for me. In addition, I have a serious shoulder injury, so passers-by or the driver usually help me get into the transport.

Natalia Stolyarova, a resident of Mogilev:

— When my son Makar was 3 years old, I contacted the ZhREU employees, and they installed a ramp for him in front of the house in a short time. However, another obstacle for us was the staircase on the first floor of the entrance leading to the elevator. We have been trying to resolve this issue for a long time. First, a home-made wooden ramp was installed in the entrance, which was very difficult to lift not only for a fragile woman, but also for any man, then we were offered to install a ramp at a very sharp angle of inclination, I refused it. After appeals to representatives of the executive authorities, we were nevertheless provided with the best option – they installed a convenient lift. People in wheelchairs, as well as those who help them, often face obstacles. While my son and I get to school, we have to cross three roadways and go around areas that are inaccessible to us. To date, part of the road has been repaired, but several sections have so far been left without attention.
Of course, the world is not without good people. I am very grateful to the Belarusians, without whom we would not have been able to raise money for a serious operation for my son. And also to the director and all the staff of school No. 18, who created comfortable conditions for the socialization of my child: they installed a ramp, convenient access to the dining room, equipped a classroom on the ground floor, and simply take great care of Makar and his classmates.

Today, 900 visually impaired, 499 hearing impaired, 1135 people with special needs of psychophysical development, 854 people with diseases of the musculoskeletal system live in the city. In the first half of 2022, 106 citizens with disabilities were employed.

Development of kittens by day – how kittens grow by week: growth of kittens by months

Understanding the amazing transformation that a kitten goes through from birth to adulthood will help you provide him with the right balanced nutrition at every stage of development.

  • Birth
  • Neonatal
  • Weaning
  • Intensive growth
  • Slow growth
  • Growing up kittens

Birth

Immediately after birth, care should be taken to ensure that kittens begin to receive mother’s milk. In the first hours and days after birth, the mother, along with milk, provides the newborn with the necessary nutrients that contribute to the healthy development of kittens.

Birth

Nutrition

After birth, kittens should immediately crawl to their mother and start sucking milk. This is how they get colostrum, a component of mother’s milk that is rich in antibodies and strengthens the immune system.

Birth

Health

At birth, kittens are at risk of two types: First, due to abruption of the placenta, they may suffer from lack of oxygen for different periods of time. Secondly, after birth, they come into direct contact with bacteria and viruses in the environment. The breeder must take all precautions, carefully prepare the birthing arena and supervise the birth of kittens, in order to reduce the risk of neonatal health problems.

Birth

Behavior

Although kittens are born deaf and blind, they exhibit a number of reflex behavioral responses early on. Kittens are already able to navigate in space, relying on smell and touch. They can warm themselves by snuggling up to their mother and suck her milk to satisfy their hunger.

Birth

Development

Newborn kittens should weigh approximately 2-3% of their mother’s weight. In the early days, their daily weight gain is approximately 10% of their birth weight. Males usually weigh more and grow faster. Kittens are born blind and deaf. They are drawn to their mother for protection and nourishment.

Birth

Housing conditions

Newborn kittens should always be near their mother, who warms, feeds and licks them. Their playpen should be kept at around 30°C to reduce the risk of hypothermia, and aim to keep the humidity at 65-70%.

Neonatal

Newborn kittens are protected and warm next to their mother and other kittens of their litter. Most of the time they sleep and eat.

0 to 3 weeks

Health

During the first days of life, kittens should be examined by a responsible veterinarian. The veterinarian will check to see if the kittens have birth defects or health problems that require treatment. Separation of kittens from their mother and littermates at the neonatal age can lead to physical and mental retardation and behavioral problems associated with aggression. Deworming in the first six months of life should be carried out monthly.

0-3 weeks

Nutrition

During this stage, the kitten’s immune system is still largely supported by mother’s milk, which provides the body with essential proteins for development.

0-3 weeks

Behavior

At this stage, kittens sleep most of the day – about 90% of the time in the first few weeks. They only move to crawl to their mother for warmth and milk. Kittens already know how to purr and make other sounds.

0 to 3 weeks

Development

At about five days old, kittens open their eyes. The umbilical cord falls off about a week after birth. At the same time, kittens begin to gain weight from 10 to 30 grams per day.

0–3 weeks

Living conditions

In the first weeks of a kitten’s life, the main requirements for keeping conditions are cleanliness, silence and warmth. Excessive noise and distractions can disrupt sleep and eating patterns. It is very important that the kitten’s body temperature does not fall below 35 ° C, otherwise it will not be able to effectively absorb mother’s milk. And if the body temperature drops below 32 ° C, the kitten will lose the sucking reflex, which will make normal feeding impossible.

Weaning

The physical development of kittens accelerates and the process of weaning begins. This is an important stage in which the kitten learns by watching the mother and interacting with other kittens.

4-8 weeks

Nutrition

As the kitten’s milk teeth develop, the weaning process begins. After a while, the kittens show their first interest in the solid food that their mother receives, and then you can begin to introduce solid food into their diet. Because of their immature digestive system, it is very important for kittens to receive a diet that is easy to digest and takes into account their special needs at this stage.

4-8 weeks

Health

At this stage, the immune system weakens. This means that the protection provided by maternally acquired antibodies has already weakened, but the amount of these antibodies is still high enough that vaccination may not be effective. During this period, the kitten becomes especially susceptible to diseases. Because sleep helps boost your kitten’s immune system, it’s important to provide a warm, comfortable, and quiet place to sleep.

4-8 weeks

Behavior

At this stage, the kittens begin to interact more and groom each other’s fur. They begin to actively play, run, attack and imitate hunting. At this stage, kittens’ vision is fully developed.

4–8 weeks

Development

Hearing and sense of smell are well developed by the fourth week. By the end of the sixth-seventh weeks, the sleep pattern and motor skills characteristic of adult animals begin to form. Key social skills are developed in the process of communicating with littermates, and learning occurs by observing the behavior of the mother.

4-8 weeks

Housing conditions

As kittens become more curious and active at this age, it is important to make the environment safe for them. In addition, housing conditions play an important role in their learning, so make sure that the kittens have constant access to toys and other objects that stimulate the development of cognitive functions. Regular communication with different people will help kittens interact more confidently with a person in the future.

Intensive growth

The kitten begins to understand what is required of him and develops behavior that will not change during his life.

2-4 months

Health

Approximately eight weeks of age is ideal for a kitten to be vaccinated for the first time, followed by a mandatory booster after 3-5 weeks. This is an important process that provides the kitten with protection against dangerous diseases in adulthood. See your veterinarian for a vaccination plan.

2-4 months

Nutrition

Some nutrients are not yet fully absorbed by the kitten, so it is important that he receives a diet tailored to his individual needs at a particular stage of his development. This food provides your pet with the nutrients and energy it needs during this vital stage of development.

2-4 months

Behavior

At this stage, the kitten’s behavior is most influenced by its environment, including kittens from its litter, other pets and people. In addition, the kitten begins to understand what place he occupies in the house, and he may develop dominant or submissive behavior depending on his experience and upbringing.

2-4 months

Development

This is a key stage in the development of a relationship, so stability, support and emotional attachment are very important. Effective socialization at this stage will help raise a well-mannered and happy cat.

2-4 months

Housing conditions

Kittens can be taken from their mother and introduced to a new home from 8 weeks of age. Depending on the breeder, this period can increase up to 12 weeks. Before bringing a kitten home, it is important to make sure that the apartment is completely ready for its arrival: you should hide electrical wires and close sockets, secure windows, balconies and stairs, and remove all sharp and small objects.

Slow growth

As the kitten matures, it gradually reaches full physical maturity.

Older than 4 months

Health

During this period, cats begin to mark the territory where they live with urine and facial secretions: they rub their heads against objects, other animals and people. This is a sign of the onset of puberty. Now you should discuss with the veterinarian the need for sterilization (castration).

Older than 4 months

Nutrition

As a kitten reaches physical maturity and approaches adult weight, it should be gradually transitioned to an adult cat diet and portion sizes adjusted accordingly. The balance of nutrients in the composition of the food depends on the age of the cat and factors that affect metabolism, such as lifestyle (whether the animal is outdoors) and castration (whether the animal has been castrated).

Older than 4 months

Behavior

As the cat matures, it will become more and more dominant in your family. It “tests” the status of humans and other animals in the existing hierarchy. It is important that you, as the owner, maintain the norms of behavior and daily routine that you establish for your pet in the first months of his life. The stability of the situation will allow you to control the level of stress.

Older than 4 months

Development

At this stage, the kitten changes teeth by 30 permanent teeth. If the kitten is not spayed, puberty occurs at six months, accompanied by sexual cycles and mating behavior. By eight months, a kitten reaches 80% of the weight of an adult animal. Depending on the size of the breed, maturation occurs between 12 and 15 months.

Older than 4 months

Housing conditions

If the kittens have received all the necessary vaccinations, from the age of about six months you can let them go outside. It is best to proceed in stages. Until the kittens get used to the new environment, stay outside with them. When they feel more confident, they will begin to actively explore the surrounding space. As a rule, cats move farther from the house than cats. At this stage, consistent owner behavior and discipline are important.

Growing up your pet

The weight of an adult animal is 40-50 times the weight of a newborn kitten.

12-18 months

Growing up your pet

Kittens become adults about 12 months after birth, while larger breed cats do not reach maturity until 15 months of age. When a cat becomes an adult, it should be gradually transitioned to a food that can meet its nutritional needs, taking into account the breed and lifestyle.

9 Things Parents Need to Know About Poo, Pee, and Peals of Laughter

“POOPIE! Poopie, pooopie, poooooooop!”

Ah, yes, the potty talk. For some children, the glory of screaming words like poop, pee, or butt over and over and over seems to give them great joy.

What should parents do about it? Ignore it? Set rules? Laugh right along with them?

At KinderCare, we’ve heard it all. And we’ve got the straight poop on this whole toilet humor business.

1. The Truth Is: You Probably Started It (and that’s a Good Thing)

While a baby is on the changing table, Mom or Dad might say, “Did you pee? Are you wet? I’m going to change your poopie diaper.” This kind of interaction with a baby is absolutely a good thing! When an adult explains what they are doing, they’re helping their infant learn about themselves and the world around them.

2. Between Ages 2 and 3, Poop Jokes Help with Toilet Learning

That early introduction to bathroom language can pay off later. “This kind of language helps children prep for toilet learning,” says Leia Muniz, a Quality & Accreditation Advisor at KinderCare Education. During this stage, bathroom language is a transition tool, aiding children in being independent as they move from diapers to the potty.

Around age two and until children have mastered toileting, Muniz does not recommend correcting potty talk, because intervening may discourage children from using the bathroom or expressing their need to do so.

In fact, while children are learning to use the toilet, you want to encourage them to use language to tell caregivers when they have to use the bathroom. And you want to celebrate your children’s potty successes, saying “You went pee-pee in the potty! Let’s tell Grandma!”

3. Remember: Potty Talk Is a Phase

By the age of three or four, most children have learned to use the toilet, and it’s not coincidental that some children begin to use bathroom talk with great exuberance (followed by peals of laughter).

While some parents may not share their child’s sense of humor, it’s important to remember that bathroom talk is a phase. Remember that it will pass. In the meantime, use your child’s new, slightly salty vocabulary as an opportunity to teach important concepts about respecting others, privacy, body attitudes, and how to enjoy a great joke.

Everyone Belongs In Our Circle

At KinderCare, we’re committed to building warm, welcoming and supportive classrooms for children of all abilities, backgrounds and experiences.

4. Don’t Overreact to Poop Jokes

If your child is blurting out toilet humor words and the situation makes you uncomfortable, remember to respond calmly. Reacting in a way that is anxious, ashamed, or angry may give them the impression that there is something shameful about their body and how it works. “This is what we do all the time; we go potty,” reminds Muniz. “We don’t want to discourage it.

5. Toilet Humor Has Its Time and Place

If a round of butt jokes is causing uncontrollable giggles at the dinner table, remind your child that potty words are for the bathroom, not for the dinner table. This introduces the simple concept of manners, that certain behavior is expected in certain places. You might bolster this boundary by allowing your little guy to say a lot of potty words and laugh—really loudly—the next time he’s in the bathroom.

6. Teach the Difference Between Public and Private

Toilet talk is a chance to start teaching your child the difference between public and private places and parts of our bodies. “That’s your own body,” you might say to a child who is sharing a view of their bottom and laughing wildly. “We’re not going to show it to your friends.”

7. Teach Respect for Others

Whether Grandma is shocked by colorful language or a family down the street has different house rules on toilet humor, help your child be empathetic to other people’s feelings. “It’s really silly when you talk with Mom or your brothers about pee-pee, but at school we are respectful of others, and they might not find that funny.”

8. Mind the Difference Between Toilet Humor and Name-Calling

If your child calls someone a poo-head, bathroom talk has evolved into name-calling. It’s important to intervene by responding to the name-calling and not the language.

Caregivers need to help children use alternative language to help them express their emotions differently: “I heard you calling Johnny a poo-head. It seems like you’re upset.” Use an open-ended question to encourage your child to think more kindly. “How do you think you would feel if someone called you that?”

A Lifetime Of Confidence Starts Here

Our teachers help every child build the confidence they need to try new things and explore the world around them.

9. And Finally: It’s Okay to Laugh

If your child is in a safe place—at home or in the car, with a close friend, parent, or sibling—there is no harm in letting them laugh about these words. It may not be your sense of humor, but they’re probably learning from it, according to this article about laughter and learning published by the National Association of the Education of Young Children.

Young children are busy discovering their physical bodies: how they can move and what they can do. Preschoolers who have recently mastered using the potty get lots of joy from crowing over their new ability. Potty talk lets children word-play with their increasing vocabulary and share budding senses of humor as they learn to make and keep friends.

Toilet Humour – TV Tropes

Go To

“To whoever took the ‘L’ from the ‘MOTOR POOL’ sign, haha, we are very amused.”

Ms. Packard, Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Simply put, toilet humour comprises jokes about urine, feces (human or otherwise), bums, fannies, willies, other naughty bits, fluids, farts and the immolation of them, boogers, bodily functions, and various other yucky stuff. It is very popular with young children, but as they grow up, they tend to find greater amusement in more witty jokes (at least, most of them do), and toilet humour is generally regarded with great dislike from the eyes of the mature audience. On the other hand, when toilet humour is mixed with Slapstick, the result is generally viewed as humourous. People falling into manure is good for a laugh across all age groups.

Toilet humour is related to Vulgar Humor. You could say it is the “cleaner counterpart”. e.g What did the Pirate find in the ship toilet? The Captain’s Log. note Taken from https://www.keeplaughingforever.com

Toilet humour is common on grossout shows and shows with large amounts of Black Comedy, but is not restricted to them. In a show which rarely relies on toilet humour, such instances tend to be lampshaded (“Oh, just what this episode needs – a fart joke“). Often toilet humour is used as filler, which results in a Bottom of the Barrel Joke.

Almost guaranteed in anything with babies in it.

Before anyone tells you humor was cleaner back in the old days, this trope is Older Than Dirt. A Sumerian proverb, dating to 1900 BCE goes “Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband’s lap.”

I Ate WHAT?! is the trope when eating is involved. Characters that are Gassholes and most instances of Fartillery are also usually meant for comedic purposes. Compare Tinkle in the Eye, Nose Nuggets, Road Apples, Urine Trouble, Revolting Rescue, and Joke of the Butt. Can be played very lightly via Calling Your Bathroom Breaks. Humor that involves an actual toilet is often involved in a Potty Emergency (but this Trope often applies there too). You can have some toilet humour without having anything gross actually happen by employing a Grossout Fakeout.

Not to be confused with Toilet Horror, though the two can overlap in Horror Comedy or in a moment of Mood Whiplash in other works.

    Arts

  • Rembrandt van Rijn: This artistic genius also made some drawings of an obese woman urinating and him and his wife having sex in bed.
  • Marcel Duchamp: His dadaist sculpture Fountain is literally a urinal turned on its side.

    Comedy

  • Bill Cosby’s famous standup act, Bill Cosby: Himself featured a rant about how fathers are the most fun family members because they’re the only ones allowed to have gas. He also discussed how his father used to blame his farts on invisible animals.
  • Billy Connolly’s early material featured an abundance of toilet and body function jokes. The most famous example is one where he speaks at length about being trapped in an airplane toilet with the previous visitor’s “jobby” still floating in it, not flushing away and being unable to leave because he’d never be able to convince anyone that he didn’t do it himself! He’s no stranger to jokes about willies and bums either (a joke about the latter pretty much kickstarted his career outside Scotland).
  • Oh, Bob Saget. The comedy special That Ain’t Right features lighting farts, an examination of the potential literal meaning of the phrase “fuck that shit”, a man from Spain getting his head stuck up an elephant’s ass, and that time where Bob got garlic diarrhea after eating at The Stinking Rose and then used it to kill a vampire.
  • Eddie Murphy has a bit in Delirious that starts off with farting in the bath tub and ends with a turd, a cracked skull and his brother with a G. I. Joe up his butt.
  • George Carlin defines a fart in its simplest context: “Shit without the mess.”
  • Larry the Cable Guy is notorious for overusing this.

    Comic Strips

  • Gary Larson liked putting outhouse jokes into The Far Side, though he did have a problem getting them past his editors in the early years.
    • One of his favorites was one featuring a boy in the foreground practicing his sousaphone behind an outhouse; in the background, beyond the outhouse, stand a cluster of awed onlookers.
  • Garfield has had a few examples here and there over the years.
  • Marvin…just the entire run of Marvin, a strip that seems obsessed with a diaper-wearing toddler’s fecal production and his apparent willingness to sit smugly stewing in it indefinitely. (This behavior and the strip’s unswerving focus on it is one of the bêtes noir of The Comics Curmudgeon.)
  • BabyBlues: Frequently used as a running gag and is commonly used on Wren. Another running gag has Wren constantly eat prunes and the after-math always has her pooping herself. In one comic, Wren gets diarrhea after eating a whole bag of prunes and stinks up the van, leaving Darryl with a empty diaper bag and a trip the store to get pull-ups.
  • In a Pearls Before Swine strip in which Pig tries to impress a woman with his travel, he tries to prove he does know whether or not he’s in North America by proclaiming I’M IN CONTINENT!!

    Eastern Animation

  • Aachi and Ssipak has an entire plot that revolves around a future where feces is the main source of power and the main characters are protecting a hooker who has very… *ahem* generous bowels.
  • Happy Heroes: Season 8 episode 11 is about Big M. being stuck floating in the air. He gets tired of not being able to control where he floats and finds a solution – propel himself in the direction he wants by farting. He then runs into an aerial traffic cop who fines him for polluting the air with his gas.
  • Lavatory-Lovestory: This is a cartoon in which a lovelorn men’s room attendant falls in love. In one scene all the men in the stalls are unnerved when the woman starts peeking underneath them in an effort to find her admirer. Later, she accidentally whacks a man in the face with her bouquet, causing him to fall into the toilet.

    Pinball

  • Fully embraced by America’s Most Haunted at every opportunity.
  • Heavily used in Stern Pinball’s Family Guy, just like its namesake. Operators can tone it down, however.
  • The “Joe’s Diner” mode from The Flintstones ends with a large pterodactyl flying overhead and releasing a giant dropping on the diner.
  • Capcom Pinball’s Flipper Football includes belches, farts, and burps in its repertoire of sound effects. Which are still mild compared to the game’s nonstop barrage of profanity…
  • Inappropriately enough, the South Park pinball from Sega is loaded with this.
  • WhizBang Pinball’s Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Melons has a horse that’s seen shooting a melon out of its posterior. Another part of the play field shows it farting onto a lit match, which launches a fireball (that doubles as a score light).
  • The “13-UTT” dimension in Rick and Morty causes fart sounds to play whenever the ball hits anything.

    Pro Wrestling

  • The 1987 Slammy Awards: In a literal case, one of the nominees for the “Best Personal Hygiene” award was King Kong Bundy, who is seen using the toilet to defecate himself … and it is implied he held it all in (and we mean ALL in) until his bowels finally gave way.
  • John Cena occasionally pulls this out for the kids.
  • Who can forget the time Eddie Guerrero gave The Big Show a tainted burrito, giving him diarrhea in the middle of a match, and then stealing all the toilet paper from the toilet stalls before he got in? And the next week, Eddie Guerrero sprayed The Big Show down with a hose connected to a septic truck.

    Puppet Shows

  • The Bear in the Big Blue House installment “Potty Time with Bear” pretty much operated on this when it wasn’t offering practical information on children’s potty training.
  • On Dinosaurs, Baby often makes mention of having dirty diapers with comical reactions from Earl. Some prominent examples include the lyrics, “I take every chance to make a poop in my pants” in the “I’m the Baby (Gotta Love Me)” music video, and the entire plot of “Nature Calls” dealt with Earl’s unsuccessful attempts to potty-train Baby.
  • The Muppet Show:
    • In “Episode 106: Jim Nabors”, Kermit introduces Fozzie as “the man who thinks that Elton John is a singing bathroom”.
    • In “Episode 310: Marisa Berenson”, a wig trainer tells Louis Kazagger that he doesn’t use “sham”-poo for his wigs, only real poo.
    • In “Episode 504: Shirley Bassey”, Statler and Waldorf share the following exchange after the guest star’s first number:

Waldorf: “Fire Down Below”, great number.
    Statler: Thanks.
Waldorf: Thanks? You didn’t write “Fire Down Below”.
Statler: No, but the guy who did had just had a bowl of my chili.

  • Muppets Tonight: The Seinfeld Babies sketch from “Episode 107: Sandra Bullock” parodies the Seinfeld epsiode, “The Contest” by having Baby Jerry say that whoever can go the longest without soiling their diaper wins the contest. Baby Kramer proceeds to do his business and declares, “I’m out”.
  • Sesame Street: “Elmo’s Potty Time” is mainly educational, but there are a few joke moments, like a giant primate needing to pee and chasing a giant toilet, jokes during a song about toilet paper being made (such as when a large toilet roll is being seen in the manufacturing process, asking, “If the roll ran out, would we hire a truck?!”) and kids shouting synonyms for pee and poop, the peeing part ending in a shout of “I REALLY NEED TO URINATE!”.

    Radio

  • Howard Stern and his superhero, Fartman.
  • Opie & Anthony: “Fart Equals Funny” is one of their basic tenets.
  • Listeners are spared listening Giles Wemmbley-Hogg’s bout of amoebic dysentery during his trip to Thailand, except to be told afterward about it…

…spending the night, squatting over a hole, spraying pint after pint of red-hot magma down the back of [his] legs.

  • The Stephanie Miller Show describes itself as “a Mensa meeting with fart jokes!”
  • Martin/Molloy featured lots of this, which the hosts acknowledged and frequently mocked themselves for. The “Blimpy, the Lactose Intolerant Cat” sketches were built entirely around it.

    Theatre

  • In 1776, at one point, RI delegate Stephen Hopkins is out using the latrine when his time to vote is called; the Congressional secretary marks this as “Rhode Island passes,” sending the rest of Congress into a fit of laughter. Later, Benjamin Franklin is discussing his thoughts about not truly being an Englishman since he doesn’t have the rights of one.

Franklin: But to call me one without those rights is like calling an ox a bull; he’s thankful for the honor but would much rather have restored what’s rightfully his.
Dickinson: When did you first notice they were missing, sir?

  • The Clouds: At one point, Strepsiades is speaking to one of the students at the Thinkery, surrounded by kneeling students. When he’s told that they are studying the reaches of Hell, he’s quick to point out that their “third eyes” are facing the sky.
  • The Comedy of Errors: The Ephesian Antipholus starts slinging insults with the Dromio keeping him out of his house and descends into threatening to fart in his face.
  • Matilda: Mr Wormwood’s hair is green due to a mistake and claims it’s to celebrate the green things like “lettuce and snot”.
  • Urinetown is a Black Comedy musical about a dystopian future where, due to a drought, people have to pay to pee.

Swedish Hyundai Ad

A Swedish Hyundai commercial from the 90s. A biker stops a man with a black Hyundai after his motorcycle breaks down. He asks what car heâs driving, to which he responds a Sonata, tax free for 5 years. The man asks the biker if heâs an Environmental Class One, to which the latter says he does not care about clean air; leading the former, to his relief, to rip one out, claiming heâs a ânaturalâ, much to the latterâs disgust. The last we see is the biker clearly grasping for air, but canât since the windows are rolled up.

I own & operate a Family Day Care with our group of friends being newborn to PreK.Our group is small with up to 6 children. With all the germs and viruses going around in today’s world, I think it’s important to choose a small daycare… fewer children, less coughing, fewer germs, and fewer illnesses.
I provide a warm loving HOME atmosphere with a great place for children to learn, play, and explore! Nutritious meals and snacks are served following the USDA Food Program Guidelines. Our setting offers both indoor and outdoor play areas for lots of fun and exercise. I offer a variety of child care spots with flexible hours….

Description:

I am Shirley Connolly, the owner and operator of Taught A Lot childcare in Tewksbury, MA. I offer a loving and safe environment for children from infants to 5 years. I have been caring for children for over 30years.
I am licensed and certified by The Department of Early Education and Care. I am also a certified preschool teacher. I am also an educator for infants and toddlers. My assistant is also certified by EEC and has years of training and experience. We have been working together as a team for almost 10 years!!!
We provide a curriculum that is based on the individual needs of the children enrolled. We work with our preschoolers on social, emotional, physical and cognitive/intellectual needs daily. Some children need help with social skills, others need help with refining fine motor (Fingers for writing skills) development, others need practice with identifying letters and shapes, self help skills, etc. We find these strengths and weaknesses and build upon them.
We believe children learn best from open ended experiences. Children are free to explore all medias of craft materials. They find their own creativity with no right or wrong way.
Many, many of our past childcare children have been known to win art shows in elementary school from having such early art experiences while with us. We go way beyond coloring in pages!!!! We have many weekly themes to make learning fun!
Our infants and toddlers are engaged and stimulated through story books, music and movement, children’s songs and interactions from adults and little friends in our program. They learn baby signs as it is proven to help them learn speech and language skills at an earlier age. It builds self esteem and helps them to communicate their needs with peers and adults. This is even before they can talk!
We are trained yearly in infant and child CPR & First Aid. We are members of a USDA food program and we serve Breakfast, lunch and snacks at no additional charge.
A daily midday email is sent out to all families about their child’s daily activities. The hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mon-Fri.
We are a family business and value what we have to share with other families.
Give us a call to come out to visit our home based program!!!

2 Small-Scale Daycares & Preschools in Tewksbury, MA

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.

What is NeighborSchools?

Hey there, nice to meet you 👋 We’re a new-ish startup that helps new-ish parents find daycare.

We know how hard finding good child care can be – especially for first-time parents. But really good care is what gives you the peace of mind to go back to work and feel confident that your child is getting the stimulation, socialization, and support they need to learn and grow.

So we created NeighborSchools to make this piece of parenthood a whole lot easier. We say “easier” because, let’s be honest, it’s still a big thing to figure out, but working together we can help you find some good options, understand the whole process, and choose a program you’ll feel really good about.

How’s it work?

Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care – so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.

Is there a cost?

Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools – we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.

How do I know if I’m ready to take the survey?

Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.

How do I know if a daycare has openings?

Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine.

Gothic princess Winona Ryder: secret marriage to Keanu Reeves, prison and stolen Oscar

She was called the “nymph of the nineties” – perhaps there is no better definition for Winona Ryder.

Winona Ryder was the strongest actress of the “nineties” and “zero”. What can I say, she was nominated for an Oscar for two years in a row – for her roles in the films “The Age of Innocence” and “Little Women”. Film critics called Winona the greatest star, and on the “Walk of Fame” for more than 20 years, her name star flaunts.

What was the path of the actress? Once upon a time, Winona Horowitz could not have imagined that such a future awaited her. At first, acting skills helped her avoid ridicule from classmates, and then allowed her to earn $ 350 thousand per episode in Stranger Things.

Winona was born into a family of writers and lived in a hippie commune

Winona Laura Horowitz was born October 29, 1971 in Winona, Minnesota. Her mother, Cynthia Palmer, was an editor, and her father, Michael D. Horowitz, was a famous poet. On the paternal side, the future movie star was Ukrainian, Jewish and Romanian.

The name of the girl was given in honor of the city in which she was born, and Laura Huxley, the wife of the writer Aldous Huxley. The younger brother of Winona was named Uri – like the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin.

She didn’t get along well with her peers

As a child, Winona moved and changed schools frequently. The girl was often bullied by her peers – for some reason they mistook her for a boy. 12-year-old Horowitz found solace in art – she entered the American Theater Conservatory in San Francisco.

Winona Ryder hoped that after her film debut she would be left alone. However, after the release of the film “Beetlejuice” a new nickname was attached to her – “witch”. Fortunately, there were only a few months left before graduation from school, so the aspiring artist simply stopped paying attention to the spiteful critics.

In reality, Winona is a blonde

As a teenager, Winona, a blonde, began to dye her hair in bright colors. The actress decided to become a brunette before auditioning for a role in the film “Lucas”86 years old. The producers liked the image of the girl so much that they asked to leave everything unchanged.

Success awaited the actress in the “nineties”

After “Lucas” and “Beetlejuice” Winona got a few more ambiguous roles: the actress’s agents assured that some of the tapes of that time “will definitely destroy her career”, but Ryder’s performance mostly positive reviews from critics and viewers.

But already in the 1990s, Winona began with the main roles. The first went to her in the science fiction film “Edward Scissorhands”. Tim Burton, already familiar to her, became the director of the film, and her then-boyfriend Johnny Depp became a partner on the set. The girl received the second significant role in the Mermaid film – participation in the filming led Winona to a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Winona could have played in The Godfather

In 1990, another bright role could have appeared in Winona’s filmography. The girl was offered to take on the image of Mary Corleone in the third film from the saga “The Godfather” by Francis Ford Coppola. However, shortly before filming began, Ryder was diagnosed with nervous exhaustion and had to turn down the role.

Ryder was not only an actress – she was also a producer, announcer and film expert

A convincing and extraordinary actress received hundreds of applications from directors. Winona has appeared in Deadly Attraction, Dracula, The Age of Innocence, Little Women, and a host of other films that are now considered classics of sorts.

In 1998 everyone knew Winona Ryder’s name. The girl was respected not only for acting talent. She was on the jury at the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, produced the film Interrupted Life, voiced the diaries of Anne Frank and worked with the best contemporary actors.

Without Winona there would be no “Girl, Interrupted”

Filming began at the insistence of Winona – she read the novel by Suzanne Kaysen and invited James Mangold to adapt it. Despite the fact that it was Ryder who received the main role in the resulting tape, all the awards – and the Oscar too – went only to Jolie.

Winona was arrested for theft

Only in 2001, Ryder began a four-year break in her career. She agreed only to guest roles and talk shows due to health problems (Winona was diagnosed with severe indigestion) and the law – in December 2001, the actress was arrested for intentional shoplifting. She managed to get off with corrective labor and a fine, but the reputation of the star was “tarnished” for a while.

She earns nearly half a million dollars for an episode of Stranger Things

In the mid-2000s, Winona Ryder was still in demand in Hollywood. It was then that the star discovered television: she was increasingly attracted to the serial format. Since 2016, Ryder has joined the cast of the sci-fi series Stranger Things, where she played the role of Joyce Byers, a single mother whose 12-year-old son mysteriously disappears. By the third season, Winona received not only several nominations for major awards, but also a good fee: she was entitled to 350 thousand dollars for one episode.

Winona has a permanent relationship

The personal life of an actress is also something like a movie. In July 1990, she and Johnny Depp announced their engagement – the actors began dating when Ryder was still a minor. However, love was not eternal: three years later, the relationship between Winona and Johnny broke up. From 1998 to 2000, the actress was with Matt Damon, and since 2011 she has been living with fashion designer Scott McKinley Khan.

Winona is still married to Keanu Reeves

It may seem strange, but in fact Winona has a husband – and this is Keanu Reeves. On the set of Dracula, the actors were really married by a real Romanian priest. The stars love to remember this fact and are even proud that they chose each other as their spouses.

How do you like Winona Ryder? Do you consider her a great contemporary actress?

Winona Laura Horowitz was born in the city of the same name in Minnesota, USA. Her parents were Jewish emigrants from Russia and Romania who made their living through literary activities.

Height and weight: 161 cm. 49 kg.
Place of birth: Winona, Minnesota, USA

Awards: “Golden Globe”

since 1978 since 1978 since 1978 Seven-year-old Winona lived with her family in the Rainbow agricultural community near Elk, northern California. There was no electricity and other benefits of civilization, so young Horowitz became seriously interested in reading.

When the future actress was ten years old, her parents moved to Petaluma, California. The girl received a home education, as at school she was often beaten, mistaking for a boy.

Since 1983, 12-year-old Winona has taken acting classes at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. In addition, she studied at the Petaluma High School, which she graduated in 1989 with high marks in academic performance.

Three years later, Ryder had her first screen test for Desert Flower, but did not pass. However, thanks to the Triad artists agency, she was invited to play in the new project of director David Seltzer “Lucas”. Then in the career of a young actress there was a role in the film “Quadrille”, as well as Tim Burton’s comedy “Beetlejuice” and the film “1969”.

In 1989, Ryder starred in the film “Deadly Attraction”, which caused a mixed reaction from film critics, but became a cult among teenagers. The role in the film “Fireballs” brought her the first professional award of the Young Artist Awards.

Ryder’s role in Burton’s “Edward Scissorhands” also turned out to be successful, which made a big jackpot at the box office. And the picture “Mermaids”, where Cher and Christina Ricci also played, brought her a Golden Globe nomination in the category “Best Supporting Actress”.

Also among the successful works of the actress are Jim Jarmusch’s film “Night on Earth” (1991), “Dracula by Bram Stoker” by Francis Coppola (1992) and the film adaptation of the novel by Isabelle Allende “House of the Spirits” (1993), where she found herself on the same platform with Meryl Streep, Jeremy Irons, Glenn Close and Antonio Banderas.

For her performance in Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence (1993), Winona received a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination. The film “Little Women” again brought her an Oscar nomination a year later.

In 1995, Ryder voiced the diary of Anne Frank, receiving a Grammy nomination. Two years later, the actress appeared in an unusual role for herself, taking part in the filming of the film “Alien 4: Resurrection” with Sigourney Weaver. A year later, the talented girl even became a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 1999, Winona brilliantly coped with the role in the drama “Girl, Interrupted”, where she also acted as an executive producer. A year later, the actress starred in the melodrama Autumn in New York with Richard Gere, which was smashed to smithereens by critics and even received a nomination for the Golden Raspberry anti-award.

After a long hiatus, Ryder appeared in 2006 in Richard Linklater’s animated film The Blurred, based on the novel by Philip K. Dick. In January 2007, at the Sundance Film Festival, premieres of Ryder’s comedies “Darwin Award” and “The Ten Commandments”, as well as “Sex and 101 Deaths” took place.

In 2010, Winona appeared in the television movie When Love Is Not Enough: The Lois Wilson Story, for which she was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. A year later, she played with Darren Aronofsky in the Black Swan film. In 2014, the premiere of the film with her participation “Home Front” took place, where Ryder joined James Franco and Jason Statham. From 1989 to 1993, Ryder dated Johnny Depp from 1989 to 1993. Ryder later maintained a relationship with Soul Asylum’s Dave Pirner and was engaged to Matt Damon, whom she was with since 1998 to 2000.

(May 2016) (Learn how and when to delete this message template)0074 (Borzyszkowy, August 4, 1867 Winona, 1959) was a Roman Catholic priest of Polish origin. He emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1881 and was ordained a priest in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 1895. During his lifetime, he was associated with numerous Polish Catholic parishes, including the now-closed troubled parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Duluth, Minnesota and Holy Cross Parish in Minneapolis.

He was born to the Kasubsky village BORZK He was the first of ten children born to Franciszek and Marianne Darzin Cieminski, who emigrated from Prussia. Poland (Kashubia) to the United States in 1881 on the steamer Grimsby, making him a member of the Kashubian diaspora. [1] A modest peasant boy’s fifty-one years as a Roman Catholic priest took him from archdiocesan secretary to parish priest in a Polish colony on the Minnesota border, and from troubleshooter in Minneapolis to respected patriarch of the Kashubian Polish community Winona. Born in Kashubia and educated in America, Father Joseph F. Cieminski has demonstrated the hard work and achievements of the American Kashubian Pole community throughout his long and successful life.

Young Jozef studied in the schools of Winona until he entered the seminary. He was then ordained at Saint Paul in 1895. Father Tseminsky’s first appointment was the position of secretary to the reverend. John Ireland, [2] first Archbishop of St. Paul. The hard-headed Archbishop of Ireland did not bow down to Eastern Europeans or Poles in particular. But soon the talents of Father Tseminsky were needed elsewhere. His first parish assignment transferred him to St. Stanislaus Kostka in the newly created Diocese of Winona, where he served as assistant pastor to Father Jakub W.J. Pacholski. The fact that the Archbishop of Ireland sent his secretary from the diocese to work alongside the extremely capable Father Pacholski suggests that the turmoil at St. Stanislaus was more significant than the available information would indicate.

    Vilna, Minnesota

Father Ceminsky’s next appointment in Vilna, Minnesota returned him to the Archdiocese of St. Paul. The Polish colony at Wilno was founded in 1883 under the auspices of the Archdiocese and the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. This represented an attempt to funnel part-time Polish-American townspeople into the wide open western expanses of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul; In a recent article by John Radzilowski, Wilno is seen as a model of Polish-American farm life. Radzilovsky also chronicles the archbishop of Ireland’s clumsy attempts to control Vilna. The parish of St. John Kantius replacing the popular Polish-speaking priest with an unfortunate Bohemian priest who (solely because of his ethnicity) was kicked out of the parish after some time. [3]

From 1896 to 1902 Father Jan Andrzejewski worked to build for St. leave immediately before the consecration of the building in opposition (according to the Parish Jubilee Book of 1983) for the church organ. Arriving in 1902, Father Tseminsky restored the parish to order, despite the fact that Father Andrezeevsky remained in Vilna for quite a long time. At 19In 06, Father Ceminsky also hired the school sisters of St. Francis of Rochester (otherwise known as the Rochester Franciscans) to staff St. John Cantius Primary School. In 1907, Father Tseminsky was recalled by the diocese of Winona as pastor of St. Casimir’s Church in Wells, Minnesota; His three years in the small town of Faribo County did not appear to be without some major problems.

    Duluth

In 1910 Father Tseminsky moved to Duluth, Minnesota to pastor the troubled parish of Saints Peter and Paul (now closed). Duluth’s Second Polish Catholic Church became a battlefield between the Diocese of Duluth and a group of “independent” parishioners determined to bring it into the Polish National Catholic Church. [5] A group of “independents” had already split from Duluth’s first Polish Catholic church, St. Mary’s Star of the Sea, resulting in the founding of St. Joseph’s Polish National Church in 1907. The lawsuit for Saints Peter and Paul was won, but Father Tseminsky had to spend the next five years putting the parish of Saints Peter and Paul in order.

    Minneapolis

In 1915 Father Tseminsky moved to another problematic place – Holy Cross Parish in Minneapolis, founded in 1886 by his mentor and friend Father Pacholsky. The Holy Cross was in turmoil for several years because of a scandal that may have involved its longtime pastor, Father Heinrich Yazdzewski. Sensing an opportunity, a faction of “independents” had already broken away from the Holy Cross and founded the Polish National Church of the Sacred Heart. Another such faction arose that tried to capture the Holy Cross itself.

Agreeing with him (Monsignor Pacholski) but dissatisfied with the new pastor, the archbishop replaced him with Father Joseph Ceminsky of Duluth. Cieminski, who started his career at Winona and ended there much later, had a reputation as a troubleshooter. Intelligent, shrewd and impressive in body and posture, he firmly took control in 1915 and remained at Holy Cross until 1932.

    —  William Galush, The Polish Experience in Northeast Minnesota, in Gerald J. Langowski (ed.), Polish heritage (Winona, 1981), p. 89.

Msgr. Cieminsky, circa 1945. Courtesy of the Polish Museum, Winona MN.

On March 4, 1916, Father Tseminski’s task became even more difficult when Father Yazdzewski was shot dead in the parish of St. Casimir in Minneapolis by a former parishioner of the Holy Cross. [6] Once again Father Tseminski successfully healed the congregation and brought it back safely.

    Winona

In 1932 Father Cieminsky, who is now 65 years old, succeeded the late Father Pacholsky as pastor of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Winona. For the first time in his career as a priest, Father Tseminsky faced the enviable task of building on an already solid foundation. Having successfully filled the most difficult positions that the three separate dioceses of Minnesota could find for him, he easily followed in the gigantic footsteps of Father Pacholsky.

Residential complex “Regency Garden” – Gilyarovskogo street, 37, building 2

Regency Garden is a low-rise premium-class residence , implemented in the format of townhouses. This is a corner of old England, the architecture of the regency era in the alleys of Moscow Gilyarovsky (Central Administrative District, Meshchansky District). The complex is formed of nine semi-detached townhouses on a fenced plot of 0.136 hectares. At an equal distance are the famous gardens – the Catherine and Botanical Gardens of Moscow State University. There are 9 within walking distance0003 sports complex “Olympic” and metro station “Prospect Mira” (250 m) . Transport accessibility is convenient, the house is a two-minute drive to the main Mira Avenue. The construction of the Regency Garden residential complex has been completed. The commissioning of the house is scheduled for in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Apartments in the Regency Garden residential complex

The Regency Garden residence package includes 9 two-story premium townhouses: from 66 to 108 sq. m . The layouts are based on the principle of functional zoning on two levels – public and private. On the ground floor there is an entrance hall (plus a bathroom), a kitchen and a living room. On the second level there are bedrooms, from one to three, with windows on two sides, bathrooms and dressing rooms. Townhouses are characterized by high ceilings (3.5 m) and large deluxe wood framed windows. Each townhouse has an elite entrance group: a deluxe class dark wooden door and a private front garden at the entrance. Townhouses are handed over in a condition for finishing. For each residence, an individual design project has been developed in the style of the English classics from the design studio NPonomareva.

    Characteristics and internal infrastructure

Residential complex Regency Garden was built according to the author’s architectural design. The format of townhouses, which is rare for the capital, involves a combination of the advantages of a country lifestyle and the infrastructure of a big city. Living in your own house – a townhouse with a separate entrance and a private front garden in front of the windows provides a special level of privacy, silence and solitude – these are rare qualities of life for a metropolis. The Regency Garden project combines modern construction trends and the traditions of the English regency style, according to which aristocratic London mansions of the 19th century were built. A two-story house has been built on a paved section of historical Moscow, outwardly similar to an old London mansion, formed from nine semi-detached townhouses. Laconic stone facades are plastered and painted in noble beige with transitions from a dark plinth to a light top. The facade is decorated with luxurious massive doors of townhouses, decorative facade moldings in traditional white color, various forged elements. The interiors have a slightly old-fashioned retro-aristocratic vibe: massive furniture, English wallpaper with floral prints, exotic birds and plants, antique frescoes and wall paneling.

Regency Garden’s own infrastructure includes a multi-level security system : fencing of the territory with a wrought-iron fence, 24-hour security, access control system with video surveillance. Landscaping of the territory is carried out in the traditions of the regency style. Construction of the tallest building began in Kopeysk | Pchela.news

    News

In the center of Kopeysk, the Trest Magnitostroy company began to build an 18-storey building. The residential complex will appear on Ilyicha Avenue, the completion date of the facility is the second quarter of 2022.

Along with the residential complex, another municipal kindergarten will appear in the city. It will be located on the first two floors, Oleg Laknitsky, general director of Trust Magnitostroy, said.

The institution will be designed for six age groups: from 2 to 7 years. The residential complex will be built on the site of a wasteland. It has 135 apartments. The company promises future residents a park around a high-rise building with landscaping on an area of 1. 3 thousand square meters, benches, swings, playgrounds and outdoor exercise equipment.

The project includes decorative elements: cornices, moldings, window framing, rounded parapets.

    — Transformation of the center of Kopeysk, giving the main streets of the city new meanings and formats — the need for this is literally in the air. Our new project will breathe modern gloss into the territory: the building will be made in a classical style, decorated with decorative elements. We designed the object, starting from the surrounding building: the facade will echo, for example, the Kirov Palace of Culture, which is located very close, – the press service of the company quotes Laknitsky.

On the developer’s website, you can track the progress of work

Recall that in the fall, Trust Magnitostroy announced the construction of the Vidny residential complex on the site of a wasteland near the Traktor ice arena. The first two 25-story monolithic-frame towers will begin to be erected in the spring of 2021.

Unusual bridge opened in Venice: May 11, 2019, 03:33

Italian Lorenzo Quinn presented his new sculpture “Building Bridges” in Venice, Tengrinews.kz reports with reference to the artist’s press service.

The work of art consists of six pairs of gigantic arms that hang over the Venetian Arsenal in the form of a bridge. Its height is 15 meters and its width is 20 meters. The “bridge” is located in the Castello area – a medieval shipyard, which is considered one of the key attractions of the city.

Through his work, the author encourages people to pay attention to common values and meet each other, overcome differences, build bridges both from a geographical point of view and from a philosophical, cultural and emotional point of view.

“Humanity does not grow by creating barriers. It has always grown by opening its borders and welcoming new cultures. Venice is a testament to this. The city opened routes to Asia, to the Far East thanks to Marco Polo and merchants. It has always been the driving force behind European growth. Venice “This is a World Heritage City and a city of bridges. This is the perfect place to tell humanity about the ideas of unity and peace and encourage more people around the world to build bridges instead of building walls and barriers,” the Italian sculptor emphasized.

The sculpture was unveiled as part of the 58th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art. The opening ceremony was attended by the world famous pianist Lola Astanova, the Mayor of Venice and the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli.

“Each pair of hands symbolizes one of the six universal values: friendship – to create the future together; wisdom – to make mutually beneficial decisions; help – to strengthen long-term relationships; faith – a symbol of trust in one’s heart; hope – to continue important undertakings; love – fundamental the purpose of it all,” Quinn explained.

Lorenzo Quinn, an Italian artist, has received wide recognition thanks to his works presented all over the world. He is the son of famous actor, Oscar winner Anthony Quinn. The artist reveals the themes of love and relationships through very unusual forms, including depicting giant human hands.

Lorenzo Quinn

His sculpture “Support”, also created in Venice, became the most photographed work of art in 2017. Then, through the image of giant human hands, he tried to call people to a delicate coexistence. He believes that hands are just a tool that can either destroy the world or save it, for example, from climate change.

The sculpture represents two hands emerging from the water of the canal and “holding” the building. As conceived by the artist, the work was to draw attention to climate change, which threatens, among other things, to flood Venice.

Event for children of senior preschool age on the theme “Journey to the Land of Emotions”.

– Teacher’s newspaper

The development of the child is closely related to the characteristics of his feelings and experiences. Emotions are an indicator of the state of the child. Often children are captivated by emotions because they cannot control them. This leads to impulsive behavior, complications in communication with peers and adults.

Purpose: to consolidate children’s knowledge about the basic human emotions (joy, fear, surprise, anger).

Objectives:

1. promote awareness, understanding of emotions;

2. increase the stability of emotional states;

3. help build self-confidence, develop self-awareness;

4. Help the child to respond to existing negative emotions (fear, anger, etc.) that impede his full personal development;

5. To enrich the emotional sphere of the child.

Stages of the lesson:

1. Greeting ritual.

2. The main content of the lesson is a set of psychotechnical exercises and techniques aimed at solving the problems of this lesson (game therapy, finger gymnastics, group discussion. )

2.      Lesson reflection — lesson evaluation.

3. Farewell ritual.

Lesson duration: 20-25 minutes.

Age of participants: Senior preschool age.

Equipment: a letter in an envelope, pictures of gnomes with different emotions; gnome transformer toy, tape recorder, audio recording of music, sandbox with colored sand.

Preliminary work:

– acquaintance with basic emotions: fear, joy, surprise, anger.

– listening to music.

– conducting psychological games and exercises.

Lesson progress:

1. Greeting.

The children enter the room and stand in a circle.

Teacher-psychologist: Hello guys. I’m glad to see you! How is your mood? (Answers of children).

Today we received a letter from our kindergarten. The envelope says from the Queen of Emotions for children of kindergarten No. 14. Let’s open the envelope and read what is written there. (Open envelope.)

The guys invite us to a magical land of emotions. What emotions do you know? (Answers of children).

Well done!

And fairy-tale heroes who also live in this fairy-tale country will help us to distinguish them. They will tell us about different emotions: joy, fear, surprise, anger. We have an unusual journey ahead of us, we are going to a magical land.

Greeting “Country of moods”

We are heading to the country of moods,

Where we will laugh, be sad, be surprised.

With the heroes of this magical land

We will meet at every lesson.

We are waiting for adventures, fairy tales, games,

Various tasks for a new friend.

Well, are you ready? Then it’s time for us!

Let’s say greetings to each other in a circle.

(Children send greetings around the circle).

Here we are in a magical land.

2. Main body.

Guess, kids, Both girls and boys,

What emotion

Will I show you now?

Joyful music sounds. The teacher-psychologist shows a picture of a gnome with an emotion of joy.

Teacher-psychologist: That’s right, it’s a joy.

Exercise “I am happy when…”. Everyone in a circle completes the phrase: “I rejoice when …”.

Teacher-psychologist: Well done! And now we’re moving on.

Look at the gnome.

Name me an emotion…

Angry music sounds. The teacher-psychologist shows a picture of a gnome with the emotion of anger.

Psychologist: That’s right, it’s anger.

Finger gymnastics “Let’s make peace”

Two thumbs argue:

(Children clench their hands into fists, bring them together and place them in front of the chest.)

Who is the main of the two?

(They stretch their thumbs up and begin to bend and unbend them.)

Let’s not let a quarrel happen

And let’s reconcile them right there.

(They interlock their thumbs with each other.)

Another dwarf is coming towards us.

Look, what is he like?

Scary music sounds. The teacher-psychologist shows a gnome with the emotion of fear.

Teacher-psychologist: That’s right, it’s fear!

Exercise “Fear has big eyes.”

Teacher-psychologist: And now let’s play with fear. Imagine that you have a big, huge fear. (Children spread their arms wide to the sides). Everyone who is afraid has big eyes from fear. (Depict large round eyes with the help of hands). But now the fear is waning. (Children move their hands). And then it disappears altogether. (Shrug their shoulders and shrug their hands in bewilderment.) Look at each other and make sure that no one else has big eyes and therefore none of you are afraid of anything, because the fear has disappeared. Smile at each other.

Well done guys, you got over your fear.

Look at the dwarf,

Determine the emotion…

Unusual music sounds. The teacher-psychologist shows the gnome with the emotion of surprise.

Teacher-psychologist: That’s right, it’s a surprise!

On the merry, on the green Horizon Islands, According to scientists, Everyone walks on their heads! They say that the Three-Headed Sperm Whale lives there, He plays the piano himself, He dances, he sings!

In the mountains on a scooter Gobies ride there in a tomato! And one scientist Cat even drives a helicopter! There, pears grow on willows, Chocolate and marmalade, And on the sea, as on land, Hares jump, they say!

In a green meadow

Many flowers everywhere.

They give us smells.

Are you ready to smell them?

Here’s jam, chocolate,

Smell of sweet soda.

And you will find flowers here

Even with the smell of carrots.

Many wonderful smells

Look everywhere there.

Aromas

have arrived straight from your dreams.

(B. Zakhoder, excerpt from the poem “On Horizontal Islands”).

Teacher-psychologist (draws the children’s attention to the picture with the surprised gnome): Please remember what smells were discussed in the poem?

Smells are amazing, unusual and memorable. And what else?

Exercise “Amazing drawings” – the author’s development.

Teacher-psychologist: Guys, I suggest you now go to the sandbox in pairs and draw your surprise – what you remembered when I read the poem to you.

Children come in pairs to the sandbox and draw their surprise in the sand. Each child tells what he drew.

Teacher-psychologist: Well done, you did an excellent job. And now I propose to go to the beach and lie on the sand.

Exercise “On the Beach”

Let’s lie quietly on the carpet with our backs. Close our eyes and listen to the sound of the sea.

An audio recording of auto-training is turned on, the children are located freely on the carpet, the teacher-psychologist helps to relax.

Now you can open your eyes and sit down. We are in kindergarten.

So the lesson ended,

The hour of farewell has come.

Tell me frankly

Did you like it here?

Children’s answers.

3. Reflection of the lesson

Teacher-psychologist: Let’s remember what emotions live in a magical land?

(Children remember).

4. Farewell ritual.

Our adventure has come to an end.

The Queen of Emotions instructs you:

Be kind, without whims

And give you surprises.

(Children are given gifts).

It’s time for us to go back

It remains to say goodbye!

Children shake hands in a circle.

Teacher-psychologist: Thank you! You are great today. Goodbye.

person in the form of experiences. Emotions, feelings serve to reflect
subjective relationship of a person to himself and the world around him. Entire life
human is built on feelings, sensations, emotions. Knowing the reality
a person relates in one way or another to objects, phenomena, events, to other
people, to your personality. Emotions are inseparable from personality because they are more
everything is characterized by its essence, character, individuality. Emotions are big
meaning for a person, because they give rise to various reactions of the psyche to
object or situation. The cultivation of higher emotions means personal
development of its owner.

Goldfish exercise

Purpose: to identify expectations and hopes
teachers from work at the seminar.

In a fairy tale, a goldfish is always
grants wishes, and invites each participant to write their wishes on
time of the seminar on a sticker (no more than three), voice them and attach stickers with
inscriptions on the board.

The following options are available
expectations:

– Get a new and useful
information on the problem;

– Exchange work experience;

– Be in a friendly atmosphere and
etc.

Exercise “Plate of water”

Purpose of the exercise: to develop
mutual understanding in the group, understand and discuss the patterns of occurrence
mutual assistance.

eyes closed, passes a plate of water around.

As a result, the transmission develops
ways of communication, searching for the partner’s hands until the plate is handed over,
touch alerts.

Theoretical part.

Emotional development in
early childhood.

Emotions continue
play a significant role in ensuring the mental well-being of the child
early age. The child does not yet know how to control his emotions, restrain
unwanted manifestations. Therefore, all the activity of the child is clearly
emotional, colored by positive or negative experiences.
The adult directs the child’s emotional life. When the baby is upset, the adult
encourages, switches to another activity; fatigue, irritability,
too violent manifestations of emotions indicate overexcitation of the nervous
system, the need for rest comes to the fore, then the adult
soothes the baby, creates conditions for sleep.

Emotions begin
play the function of foresight. The child is looking forward to a pleasant event,
however, this expectation often causes exhaustion in the child, which manifests itself
hyperactivity of movements, their lack of coordination, tearfulness.
Therefore, an adult should behave calmly, insistently demand compliance
child of the daily routine, the usual routine.

Mastery
object-manipulative games make this type of activity a source of
various experiences of the child. He rejoices when the performance of actions
succeeds, the game uses a variety of interesting objects for the child;
gets upset if the objective action is unsuccessful (the cup fell under the table,
the plastic jug cracked, the cardboard cube crumpled). Preferences Arise
among the toys, of which there are those with which the child especially often and for a long time
plays. The emergence of motivating ideas in the child leads to the fact that
the absence of a favorite toy causes him to cry. Similar reactions are observed
if the child forgot the toy somewhere, lost it, and the like.

Negative emotions
child is often associated with manifestations of a crisis of 3 years, incorrectly constructed
communication with an adult. So, the child avoids contact with an adult, closes,
if he is not given space to take the initiative in the game,
substantive actions, he is forbidden to independently perform one or another
household process.

Emotional development
child in senior preschool age

Intensive
the development of the personality of a preschooler determines profound changes in his emotional
sphere. If at an early age emotions were directly conditioned
environmental influences, then in a preschooler they begin to manifest themselves in his
relation to certain events.

Due to appear
mediation of emotions, they become more generalized, conscious,
manageable. The child shows the ability to restrain unwanted emotions,
direct them in accordance with the requirements of adults and up to the acquired norms
behavior. The child is guided by “good” and “bad”, “possible” and “impossible”, everything
more often “I want” gives way to “must”. Senior preschooler while holding back emotions
uses his existing ideas about proper behavior, especially
when it is associated with a game role.

Origin
personality of a preschooler occurs on the basis of the ability to subjugate social
important motives (must) with their impulsive desire (want). An important new fact
emotional sphere of a preschooler become worries about a possible
reactions of adults to his actions and deeds: “what will mom say?”, “father will
scold”. The child’s perception of good and bad in their own behavior
serves as a source of ethical feelings, associated with good and evil.

In my drawings
the child conveys the attitude towards positive characters, drawing them in detail
images using a variety of colors. Evil heroes kid
depicts a limited color gamut, in the form of amorphous images – this can
be just a black spot or something like a tangled ball of dark threads.

Discuss and reinforce
main points on the board.

The psychologist reads out summaries
statements, the participants fix on the board, finding them in their working
materials.

Exercise “Magic
bag.”

Instruction:

Colleagues! I suggest you take out
one piece of paper from a magic bag, which will tell you what we as teachers
needs to be done for the emotional development of our pupils. Pull and
read out.

So, education
emotionally mature person, her experiences and feelings, starting from the first years
life, remains an important pedagogical task, since the emotional
attitude towards the surrounding world leads to the goal, the achievement of which will be
used the knowledge and skills acquired by the child.

Ability to
emotional experiences is manifested immediately after the birth of the child, and
The period of preschool childhood is considered the “golden age” of emotional life. AT
during the first six years, the foundation for the development of emotional and sensual
spheres of a person, which is the key to his normal mental development,
guarantees of growing up a harmonious personality.

For a complete
emotional and value development of preschoolers, teachers should know not
only the individual characteristics of the development of each child, but also what
it is necessary to pay attention in each age period.

Process
elimination of deviations in the emotional sphere of a preschooler is difficult and lengthy.
However, systematic comprehensive work in this direction gives
positive developments. Developing children’s emotions, creating conditions for receiving
them as many emotionally positive experiences as possible in a collective
games, communication, creativity, teaching the child to regulate his behavior under
influence of emotions, find the best way out of conflict situations, you can
to ensure that the child will eventually enjoy communication
with peers and adults. Positive communication skills will become a habit
the child’s faith in his own strength will appear, he will learn to accept, understand and compare
their peers.

Exercise “We train emotions”

a heavy backpack, a child who did a good job helping his mother, a tired warrior
after the victory.

Exercise “Fairytale
vernissage.

Purpose: to activate figurative memory
and creative imagination, develop the speed and flexibility of thought, the ability to
talk non-stereotypically.

Psychologist: “We all come from childhood. And
we always remember with love and tenderness the fairy tales we heard at home, in the nursery
garden, at school. After all, a fairy tale is the basis for the development of emotionality. Fairy tale gives
joy for both adults and children. Therefore, now we will perform the exercise “Fabulous
vernissage. So let’s get started.”

In what famous fairy tale is gray
a surly individual carries out an insidious plan to kill two people, and

Good?

(Little Red Riding Hood.)

according to their social status, the heroes occupied in turn the premises created in
unusual architectural style. And everything would be fine if he didn’t return to the house
its former owner with his bodyguard. Here the heroes of the fairy tale had to leave
illegally occupied territory.
