World Children’s Invention Day
January 17 is the birthday of Benjamin Franklin, not only a prominent American politician, but also an outstanding inventor. He came up with his first invention, hand fins, when he was only 12 years old. That’s why this date was chosen for World Children’s Invention Day. Every year, young inventors create new devices and technologies that we use in everyday life.
Franklin’s example is no exception. We have no idea how many things around us are invented by children and teenagers – from fur earmuffs and fingerless gloves to diagnosing early pancreatic cancer and a toothbrush for astronauts. The youngest inventor was 6 years old. He came up with a toy drop-down truck, drew a picture of it, and asked his father to make one for him. The granddaughter of wallpaper glue manufacturer Cleo McVicker invented plasticine. She used a charcoal dust remover for her game. Manufacturers removed the cleaning component from it and added dyes – this is how plasticine turned out.
The natural desire of every child is to explore, experiment and invent. Maybe that’s why kids are so good at coming up with new devices and technologies. The task of adults is to help them develop their talents and direct their research energy in a positive direction. The guys of the group “Lesovichok” on this day, like many children, invented.

Franklin Azzi: Maison & Objet Designer of the Year 2022
Designers
Architect Franklin Azzi.

Noel Manalili
Franklin Azzi calls himself a “technical architect” and claims that he has no corporate identity. “For me, every project is different,” Franklin says. He is also convinced that a beautiful building is not just an aesthetically pleasing structure, but “a place that makes its inhabitants happy.”

Born in 1975, Azzi was educated at the Special School of Architecture in Paris (ESA), where one of his mentors was the philosopher Paul Virillo. “He not only influenced my current work, but taught me to see,” says Franklin. Later, the architect studied at the Glasgow School of Art, where he received a fundamental interdisciplinary education. “I loved going from an industrial car design class to a fashion and textiles class,” he says.

Azzi’s creative approach was influenced by a wide range of artists: from the architect Claude Paran and the artist Donald Judd to the pianist Glenn Gould and the psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan, as well as his favorite American novels and rock music. All this variety of directions is organically combined in the work of the Parisian architect, which includes everything from urban planning to interior design and product design.

In 2006, Azzi created his own architectural office, which now employs 60 people. His transforming office, which fully reflects the style of the architect’s work, is located in the very center of Paris in the premises of a former warehouse.

One of Franklin Azzi Architecture’s most famous projects was the transformation of a section of the expressway on the Left Bank of the Seine into a 2.5 km pedestrian promenade. Franklin’s company is also working on the reconstruction of the famous Parisian skyscraper Tour Montparnasse and the surrounding area.

Franklin Azzi believes in sustainable architecture and believes that in 2020, responsible behavior should become the norm, the standard, and not a marketing tool. In his work, he deliberately avoids the wow effect, concentrating on creating objects that will stand the test of time, and prefers redesign and reconstruction to the construction of new buildings.
Among his projects, examples of this approach include the transformation of the mail yard in Lille into a cultural space, the creation of the School of Fine Arts in Nantes in a former warehouse, and the residential complex Beaupassage-Grenelle in the seventh arrondissement of Paris. “We need to focus on more intimate communities, choose horizontal development over vertical development, as compaction is a road to nowhere,” says the architect.

“We should focus on more intimate communities, choose horizontal development instead of vertical development, because compaction is the road to nowhere”
Azzi is currently working on projects such as the Mama Hotel Shelter in Dubai, the reconstruction of the space in the right wing of the Grand Arch of Defense and offices on Avenue de la Grande Armé, as well as the boutique of the Chinese brand EP Yaying in Shanghai.

ISABEL MARANT
Franklin Azzi has already designed spaces for Christophe Lemaire, Isabel Marant, Lacoste and the LVMH group, but in every project for famous brands he remained true to himself. An example is the Isabel Marant boutique in Los Angeles, which looks more like a country house than a commercial space inside and out. “Building is worth not only in cities,” adds the architect.

We live in a time when things need to be more versatile and adaptable, says Azzi: “If in the 1970s architects designed spaces for work, today our challenge is to fill them with life. What will the office of the future look like? Perhaps co-working spaces can give us a partial answer. It should be a space, a living cell that combines many functions.” For example, such as his other project, the Deskopolitan Voltaire co-working in the east of Paris, which combines a gym, a kindergarten, a restaurant, a bar, a barbershop, a roof garden and a nine-room hotel with a total area of 6,000 m².

Azzi is also passionate about supporting contemporary art projects. “I noticed that quite often artists in the implementation of their projects face architectural challenges, in the design of space and other aspects. Now we are implementing one or two initiatives a year. It is important for me to support those who are free to interpret social phenomena and those who offer a fresh and modern look at things,” he says.
Architect Franklin Azzi.
For the Maison & Objet 2022 exhibition, the architect created the Retro Futur installation. The Immersive Project invites you to imagine how creative projects will unfold in the future, using the tools of the past. The installation dramatizes the daily work of an architect with the help of several screens, on which images of tools specific to the profession appear, and objects that are needed to create projects – architectural models, materials, sketches.
“Everything that seems incredibly relevant to us — work from home, open space, personal boundaries — has actually been known for a long time”

The entire area of the installation, including the floor and ceiling, is covered with felt. This solution creates a serene environment for contemplation. The project refers to the aesthetics of retrofuturism, which is one of the important sources of inspiration for the bureau.
“Everything we are talking about now that seems incredibly relevant to us — work from home, open race, personal boundaries — has actually been known for a long time. What the office was like in the past, what it is now, what it will be like in the future – this is my essay-reflection in the pavilion format. I conceived it as an intimate space, where even time goes a little slower and there is no need to rush anywhere, ”says Franklin.

IKEA furniture, and this is understandable. This renewable, durable and recyclable material is one of the hallmarks of Scandinavian design. At IKEA, we are convinced that by sourcing wood responsibly, we can significantly reduce our climate impact. In 2012, we set ourselves the goal of sourcing all wood for our products from responsible suppliers by 2020. We are proud to announce that this goal has been achieved. Today over 98% of the wood found in IKEA products is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified or recycled.
Forests contribute to maintaining the balance of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and clean the air we breathe, as well as participate in the water cycle in nature. They are home to wildlife and help conserve species diversity. In addition, forests provide jobs for people. For 90% of the plants and animals living on our planet, forests are essential for survival. Forests are a source of food, fuel, building materials and other important resources. Purchasing around 19million cubic meters of roundwood per year in approximately 50 countries, IKEA has the potential to make a significant impact on the world’s forests and forest industries. We have a huge responsibility to make a positive impact on the wood supply chain. Responsible logging and forest management ensures that the needs of people who depend on forest resources are met, the sustainable development of wood companies, and the protection and conservation of forest ecosystems.
At IKEA, we work to the highest standards and promote responsible forest management. We do not allow wood from illegally cut forests, from regions with high conservation value forests, and from forests located in areas of social conflict, to be present in our supply chain. Before entering into a partnership with IKEA, all suppliers must certify that they are acting in accordance with IKEA’s mandatory timber requirements. It is mandatory for IKEA that all product manufacturers only source wood from responsible forests that are FSC certified or use recycled wood. All suppliers are regularly audited on site and businesses that fail to meet stated requirements are required to take corrective action immediately. We are proud to have achieved our 2020 wood supply target by working with suppliers. Today over 98% of all wood used in the production of IKEA products is FSC certified or recycled.
With the increasing pressure on forests and their ecosystems associated with destructive agricultural activities, as well as the increase in illegal logging, it is time to develop an even more holistic approach to protecting a resource so important to the planet in order to preserve it for future generations. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda has been developed until 2030. It outlines actions to promote more responsible forest management, boost biodiversity growth, positively impact the planet’s climate, and protect the rights of people who depend on forests throughout our supply chain. In addition, we plan to introduce innovative technologies that allow us to use wood even more rationally. The focus is on three key aspects: • to make responsible forest management the norm in all countries of the world; • curb illegal logging and restore cut forest areas; • Encourage the introduction of innovative solutions that allow better use of wood, in advance, already at the stage of product design, taking into account the possibility of reusing, repairing and restoring household items, and ultimately recycling them.
For many years, IKEA has been working with various commercial enterprises and government agencies, as well as public and non-governmental organizations in the fight against depletion of the world’s forest resources and illegal logging. Throughout our supply chain and beyond, we are also striving to increase the availability of responsibly forested wood in the global marketplace and make this raw material more accessible.

Visiting home caregiver – prices for services in St. Petersburg
Caring for an elderly person is a difficult task that becomes more and more difficult as a loved one ages. This manifests itself in both physical and psychological stress.
According to statistics, 48% of people who take care of their relatives themselves say that the role of a “nurse” has a bad effect on the quality of their main job, and another 23% add that this affects their relationships in the family and personal life.
Despite all the love and desire to take care of relatives, constantly looking after yourself, without professional training, is hard. In a difficult life situation, it is worth hiring a health visitor, finding a specialist for the day or finding nurses for the night, depending on the needs of the person.
In this article we will tell you about the types of care, what tasks a carer does, how to hire a carer at home and how much a professional assistant costs.
What does home care from a nurse mean? She works according to a schedule – daily visits for an hour, for several hours during the day, a nurse for the night. Also, the assistant can work 24 hours or live with the ward.
The patronage nurse performs certain tasks – helps the wards in personal care and hygiene, assists in moving around the house and outside the home – walks with the person, accompanies to the doctor, and also provides psychological support.
Relatives often hire a nurse in order to improve the difficult life of a loved one. Thanks to the quality care of the nurse, he stays in his home, in a familiar environment next to his family, friends and pets.
Types of care available
The choice of home care depends on the individual circumstances of the ward and the wishes of his relatives. Daytime care for an hour, for several hours, a night caregiver, a day caregiver at home or with accommodation may be suitable.
Below we have reviewed the benefits of each type of care:
Maintenance
Benefits
Hourly care
the opportunity to take a break for relatives;
reducing the burden on family members;
professional assistance in caring for the sick or retired;
small cost per hour of work;
short-term care after surgery, fracture, hospital discharge.
Care for a few hours
flexible working hours, you can choose to hire a 3-hour or 8-hour babysitter. Specialists can help at different times, which will allow relatives to take a break at a convenient time for them;
visits to the nurse per day can be divided into two visits: in the morning – wake up the ward, do hygiene procedures, in the evening – feed, wash and put to bed.
Night nurse
A health visitor is actually on duty at your loved one’s home for about a 10-hour shift, although shift times may vary;
no need to allocate a room or bed, as the specialist does not sleep;
turning the person in bed at regular intervals to prevent pressure sores from developing;
support for a ward with dementia during nighttime wakefulness;
escort to the toilet at night, fall prevention.
24 hour care
care, support and supervision of a person around the clock;
people do not leave one, a companion is always with him. This prevents the development of depression in sick and elderly people;
the opportunity for relatives to take a break from care, go on a business trip or vacation.
Residential care
people are under supervision around the clock;
the ward does not have to get used to new nurses if they work in shifts;
relatives do not need to replace the nurse, she provides full-fledged care.
Caring for the elderly in their own home – what does a carer do?
The duties of a nurse include high-quality care, constant care for the ward, monitoring his psychological state and support in difficult times.
What does a nurse do?
helps the ward with personal hygiene and care – looks after the condition of the skin, cares for the oral cavity, combs the hair, shaves the face, cares for the nails, escorts to the toilet;
monitors the medication schedule and reminds the ward to take pills;
helps in moving around the house and outside the house – walks with a person, accompanies him to the doctor;
prepares diet food;
is shopping at a nearby store or accompanies the ward when he is shopping himself;
does light housework that clients cannot do on their own;
is a pleasant and responsive companion that keeps a person’s emotional state normal;
helps to do physical therapy as prescribed by a doctor;
reports any unusual occurrences to loved ones;
acts quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Night nurse at home in St. Petersburg – features of work
Night nurse, who comes to the house, “on duty” all night, next to the ward. A professional assistant helps a person in any situation at night – solves physical, psychological and everyday problems.
For example, a recumbent person needs to be turned over a certain period of time to prevent bedsores from forming. Grandma may need psychological help at night – often people with dementia cannot interpret the signs that it is night and may get up and try to leave the house. And the elderly grandfather needs to be escorted to the toilet so that he does not fall in a poorly lit place and break his hip neck.
If your loved one needs help at night, and you need rest and sleep, then night caregivers will be the best option to follow up and help the sick or elderly person.
Cost of home care services
The cost of respite care varies depending on the type of care.
How much does a home care provider cost will be clear after the first consultation with a specialist in the patronage service. The cost may vary depending on the duration of care, the duties of the caregiver, the physical condition of the ward.

You need to look at the caregiver’s qualifications, skills and personality to find the ideal caregiver. It is worth paying attention to personal qualities – whether a specialist can demonstrate compassion. Is she friendly and patient? This is a great start to a solid relationship for years to come!
If you are looking for a home health visitor, hourly, multi-hour, nighttime, 24/7, or residential, please contact our Nursing Care system. We carry out the selection of nurses who come to the house, so we can easily help.

How to register an ownerless house. Instruction of the Cadastral Chamber
Experts from the Federal Cadastral Chamber, together with RBC-Nedvizhimost and lawyers, figured out the intricacies of this topic. The owners of neighboring houses may have a desire to arrange such buildings for themselves. And the desire is absolutely legal.
How to register an ownerless house for yourself? RBC-Nedvizhimost, together with experts from the Federal Cadastral Chamber and lawyers, looked into the intricacies of this topic.
What is an ownerless house and where to look for it
www.adv.rbc.ru
The origin of ownerless houses is different. For example, such real estate may arise if the owner died, and the heirs abandoned the property, did not take ownership in the right time, or the owner had no heirs. An abandoned house can become due to the fact that the previous owner left and left his property.
In Russia, as in many European countries, most of the abandoned houses are located in rural areas, sparsely populated urban districts or municipal areas. People migrate to metropolitan areas in search of better living conditions and leave their homes (selling them in rural areas is sometimes difficult).
According to the Civil Code, an ownerless thing is considered to be a thing that does not have an owner, he is unknown, or which the owner has refused (clause 1, article 225 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation). A house whose owner is unknown or whose owner has renounced the right of ownership is called an “ownerless” or “lost”. There is also the concept of “abandonment”. This is the name of a house or plot, the owner of which is known or, as a result of searches, it was possible to establish it, but he does not follow his property (clarifications of the Cadastral Chamber).
There is no unified list of ownerless residential buildings and land plots. However, a large amount of information can be found when ordering an extract from the Unified State Register of Real Estate (EGRN), if the “loss” is registered. The extract will help to disclose information about the house, its owner and possible encumbrances.
There are several ways to become the owner of an abandoned house. For example, find an owner and buy out a property, buy an abandoned house at auction from the municipality, or own an openly abandoned house for 15 years and subsequently become its legal owner. Let’s talk about these options.
Decorating an ownerless house. Instruction from the Cadastral Chamber
Step 1. Finding the owner and collecting information about the desired house
First of all, you need to establish the owner of the house. If the site with the house is located on the territory of a garden partnership (SNT), you should first contact its chairman. Perhaps through it it will be possible to find out the address and cadastral numbers of the house and plot. You can connect high technologies to searches. For example, try to find the cadastral numbers of a land plot and a house on a public cadastral map or by requesting information contained in the USRN.
If you do not know if a street home is located in the SNT, you should contact the local authority responsible for issuing building permits for the location of the home. There, they may be able to help you find out who was given permission to build the house you are interested in and, accordingly, provide information about the alleged owner of the house.
Option 1
When the owner of the building was found, he will be able to transfer his property to you only under a civil law transaction, most likely under a contract of sale. But before that, you need to put the house on the cadastral register if there is no information about it in the USRN.
The Land Code establishes that the fate of a land plot and objects firmly associated with it is the same. This means that it is more expedient to register ownership of this property, as well as its purchase, simultaneously with the purchase and registration of rights to the site on which such a house is located.
Option 2
If the owner remains unknown, but you find out that the land under the house is located in the SNT and is not registered with the USRN, you need to contact the municipality again and proceed to the next step.
Step 2. Submission of an application for granting an abandoned land for ownership or lease
To register it as a property, you must submit an application to the authorized local authority to register the “ownerless” (we are talking about a capital construction object) on the account.
Within 15 working days from the date of receipt of the application and documents, the house will be entered into Rosreestr and a notification will be sent to you. If the site still has an owner, but the object was registered in connection with his refusal of ownership, then he will also receive a notification.
Step 3. Appeal of local authorities to the court
It is necessary to wait a year from the date of registration of the rights of an ownerless house by the registration authority – during this time its owner may appear. If this does not happen, then the authorized body of local self-government can apply to the court and recognize the ownership right.
If the object is located in cities of federal significance: Moscow, St. Petersburg or Sevastopol – for the registration of ownerless real estate, and then the executive authorities of these regions must apply to the court. In all other cases – the bodies authorized for state registration of the right to real estate, at the request of the local government on whose territory the registered real estate is located.
Step 4. Holding an auction for an ownerless plot
After the transfer of abandoned plots to the ownership of the authorities, they are put up for auction. To purchase them, you need to win this auction.
“There are a number of cases provided for by Part 2 of Art. 39.3 of the Land Code, when you can buy a plot with a house, including an ownerless one, without bidding. Such a right is available, for example, to members of the SNT, on whose territory the house is located, if the land under it is not intended for general use, ”the Cadastral Chamber noted.
The winner of the auction is the one who offers the highest price. If only one interested person takes part in the auction, then the agreement is concluded with a single participant. Or such a plot can be leased by the municipality to a person interested in it, added Elizaveta Marilova, a lawyer at Genesis.
Step 5. Entry into ownership
The registration of the right will result in a special registration inscription on the contract and the issuance of an extract from the USRN. The term of the procedure for registering ownerless real estate is on average a little more than a year.
Acquisitive prescription, or 15 years of open ownership
Another way to become the legal owner of an ownerless house is indicated in Art. 234 of the Civil Code and is associated with such a concept as “acquisitive prescription”. According to this article, a citizen can occupy an ownerless house and openly live in it. If legitimate applicants for the right of ownership are not announced in 15 years, then the new owner has the opportunity to become the formal (legal) owner of the property, Elizaveta Marilova explained.
But for this, three fundamental circumstances must be observed. First, it is a good faith possession. For example, caring for a land plot, carrying out planting work, paying utility bills. Second, open ownership. That is, the new owner does not hide the fact that the abandoned property is in his possession. Third, continuity of ownership. This means that the person owned and used the ownerless house throughout the entire period of acquisitive prescription, that is, 15 years.
“In other words, if a citizen lived in an ownerless house and in fact this house was his only home for 15 years. Ownership of an orphan house begins with the first fact that confirms this. For example, from paying utility bills or carrying out repair and construction work,” the lawyer said.
“At the same time, possession of property as one’s own means possession not under a contract. It is for this reason that Art. 234 of the Civil Code does not apply if the property is owned on the basis of a contract,” added Asiya Mukhamedshina, a member of the Russian Bar Association (ARA).
It is possible to become the legal owner of an ownerless house on the basis of acquisitive prescription by a court decision. To do this, a total of at least 18 years must have elapsed. “To the 15-year period, it is necessary to add a three-year limitation period, namely, one can apply to the court only 18 years after the start of ownership of the property,” said the representative of the AUR.
After a court decision on recognizing the ownership of an abandoned house, the new owner can register the ownership in Rosreestr and dispose of it as a full owner.
Issue price
Expenses for registration of ownerless real estate involve, firstly, payment of state duty for registration of ownership, and secondly, payment for:
extract from the USRN;
purchase or lease of a derelict lot, together with a house, if it is located there;
demolition of an abandoned house if it is not needed by the new owner;
construction of new facilities on this site, if the owner has such a desire.
There are also “ownerless” buildings that need to be completed or invested in repairs. There may be additional costs for notary services at the conclusion of the contract and other costs.
Pitfalls
A situation may arise when a person has issued a “ownerless” property and registered the right to it, but the previous owner suddenly showed up. At the same time, he claims that he did not receive notification of transactions with his real estate from local authorities or did not know that his house was listed as ownerless. The former owner wants to challenge the right of the new owner and evict him. This issue will have to be decided in court.
The same applies to living in an abandoned house for 15 years. It should be borne in mind that at any moment the owner of the house may appear and demand to leave it. In this case, you will have to move out, because the resident has not yet received any rights to the house.
“If your physical ‘investment’ can be separated from your home and taken with you, then you can. It is possible to recover from such an owner the capital investments you made in the house (for example, in a situation if you prove that otherwise the house would have collapsed), but it is quite difficult. At the same time, you will have to confirm that you have done everything necessary to find a potential owner of the house, ”the lawyer of the Genesis company warned.

Family Stories
Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!
My husband and I both work full-time jobs, which is a challenge with two young children. I never thought we would take our children to a childcare facility, because I thought I would either stay home, or we would go the Nanny route. However, we were in a bind one day and called a friend of ours who recommended Kindercare, so we decided to give it a try.
Every parent remembers the first time they drop their child off at daycare. Try to convince yourself to be strong and everything will be okay. There was added nervousness from my European office colleagues. Their culture allows for them to take time off to raise their children until they can attend school, so they would ask, “why are you letting someone else raise your babies?”
However, after just a few short weeks, we stopped looking for a nanny because of the great care. For instance, while our eldest son was in the infant classroom, the center let me go up and nurse my little three times a day, which was highly important to me. My son soon came home crawling at nine months and, shortly thereafter, he started talking up a storm. I also remember coming into his classroom to visiting him. They were letting him try eating cereal with milk while using a spoon, which was shortly after he started using utensils! I thought, “wow they are brave!”
When he transitioned into the two-year-old classroom, he started regular potty-training. One day his teachers were able to get him to go by himself, so he came home proud thinking that he was such a big boy. By learning potty-training at school, it made learning at home very easy for us!
However, the best part of our experience these past two years has been walking in each day and being greeted by the teachers, who are eager to tell me how my son is doing in their classroom. They get excited when my child has reached a milestone, which shows how much they are invested in their learning and growth. I’ve laughed with them, cried with them, and truly enjoyed having them be part of our family.
When the folks in Europe now ask questions, like “how can you let someone else raise your children?” I just look at them and say, “My boys go to school with a lot of friends that they love and play with, they are very socialized, they learn a lot, and they are truly loved by their teachers.” It’s been a great experience!
Melissa B. – KinderCare Parent
Our three-year-old daughter, Kendall, has been with Kindercare since she was a few months old starting in Connecticut and now Oakton, VA. In the nine months she’s been with the folks in Oakton, she has continued to grow and learn things that amaze us on a daily basis. The center directors, Wendy and Katie, have been great in helping with whatever needs Kendall may have, and the center teachers have been great as well. We couldn’t be happier about the learning experience and fantastic environment that she is in, and the level of trust we have for the Oakton staff.
Chris W. – KinderCare Parent
Our kids have been at Oakton Kindercare for four years now, with our third child starting here as an infant. We know the teachers love our children and all of the kids they care for. The excellent continuity of the staff speaks volumes about how good the center is and is a testament to the center director.
Melissa P. – KinderCare Parent
Our son, Ty, started at KC Oakton when he was a toddler. It is with great joy that we have watched him grow and thrive under the caring, attentive, and loving supervision of our KC family. Everyone on staff, from the administration to the teachers, shares in making the children and their families feel safe, cared for, and highly valued. It means so much to us to know that Ty is in such great hands every day. What’s more, everyone is so warm and loving to my older son, who is not even a student there! He feels just at home there as if he were enrolled himself! And now, as Ty gets ready to head off to kindergarten, I look back with amazement at how much he has learned – socially, emotionally, and educationally. Thank you, Team Oakton!

Sunita’s Home Child Care
We came to Sunita after a bad experience in kindergarten. My daughter was three years old, and for three months she never got used to the last kindergarten, she never wanted to go there and was constantly freezing there. We accidentally found Sunita, and lo and behold, after a week of adaptation, mydaughter began to go to Sunita with great pleasure and even began to wait every day for the next day to go to Sunita. She always wore an extra jacket if my daughter was cold. They wrote letters and learned to speak. My daughter didn’t speak English, but she studied with Sunita. Many thanks to Sunita for her concern…

Mother Goose Home Daycare
Our (first born) son is a “Covid baby” and had not been around many other kids, let alone been taken care of by someone outside of our family for his first 1. 5 years. We could tell right away that Gigi and her team were professionals, and this was an extremely well-established daycare. The daycarespace is always very clean and organized. With Gigi’s knowledge of Montessori teachings, she has the space set up in a methodical way that helps to cultivate an inviting learning environment for kids of all ages. There is a well-maintained daily schedule that has helped our son tremendously. We were pleasantly surprised when Gigi and her team got him adjusted to the new schedule and taking long naps within his first week. Now, he practically runs to the front door every morning and has the biggest smile on his face every day at pick up. We are blown away with how much he has learned on a weekly basis. The kids get a good balance of indoor/outdoor time. Our son is much more independent at mealtimes and loves the nutritious meals that are served daily. Gigi is very responsive and sends pictures, which we look forward to every day. Being a daycare provider is a very challenging profession and we feel incredibly grateful for the Mother Goose Daycare ladies. You can tell they love and care for every kid that walks through the door like they were their own. We are so grateful for their dedication to our son and the hard work they do on a daily basis. They create a loving environment where our son continues to learn and develop more than we could have hoped for. We cannot say enough amazing things about Mother Goose Daycare!…

The Kids Zone
Our daughter attended Kids Zone daycare for almost two years, and we can’t say enough great things about her time there. Miss Tess and Miss Linda were wonderful providers and lovingly cared for our daughter. She always had a smile on her face at drop off and pick up. Miss Tess provides a widevariety of homemade meals and snacks for the kids. We could really tell how much Miss Tess and Miss Linda love the kids (and how much the kids love them!) and it made our daycare experience so enjoyable….

Used the company’s services to travel from Skopje to Sofia and back. Given that there are no direct flights to Bulgaria yet, this route is a solution to problems. The driver delivers the car exactly on time, helps at the border. Great trip!
Sokolova Elena
Everything is fine, the car is good, we arrived as VIP guests) when it is necessary and where it is necessary to stop!
Ganna Leksas
I’ll start with the fact that I was distrustful of the service. Nevertheless, on the eve of the transfer, they called to clarify whether everything was in order. The driver was there at the specified time. The car is clean, the driver is careful when driving. I will definitely use it again!
Irina Soltan
I ordered a transfer for my mother from the airport to the railway station. There are no claims. Despite the fact that in the morning we ordered a taxi for the evening, everything was organized very well. The driver called my mother when she had not even left yet, upon arrival he specified that she was already waiting for her at the exit, and a bottle of cool water was the cherry on the cake. Once again I am convinced that professionals work here. Thank you.
Irina
I don’t know what to write. The best stay the best. As always, everything is top notch. Will I recommend to others? Needless to say.
Shiriev Ruslan
Our order was executed flawlessly!

All the best, continued success!

Benefits of Kiwitaxi transfers to Okton
Kiwitaxi finds a professional driver for you, organizes and supervises the trip. Customer support 24/7 is ready to answer any question.
The fastest way to go to Oakton
Leave before the bus leaves. For example, if you are traveling to Oakton from the airport, then waiting for the bus will take at least 15-30 minutes. The transfer is waiting at the place at the appointed time, which means that you leave as soon as you arrive.
1.5-2 times faster than public transport. Shuttles, buses, trains go from stop to stop – until you get to your destination, spend 1.5-2 times more time than on a transfer.
A comfortable, stress-free option
You don’t have to talk to the driver. Taxi drivers, at a minimum, will have to explain where to go. Plus, they can ask you for directions, even if this is your first time in Octon. The transfer driver knows the route in advance – you don’t even have to talk to him.
Arrive directly at the hotel, not at the bus stop. Buses, minibuses and electric trains will not take you to the door of the hotel. The transfer will take you.
No need to build a route yourself. With Kiwitaxi, you don’t have to understand traffic patterns, plan transfers and think about which stop to get off at. The Kiwitaxi driver takes care of all the planning of the route.
Service at an understandable price
The price does not change. The cost of the transfer is fixed at the time of booking. And it won’t change even if you get stuck in traffic on your way to Octon.
You can pay on the site. Convenient if you want to prepare everything for the trip in advance.

The meaning of words in dictionaries
wordmap
The complexity and versatility of the Russian language sometimes surprise even its native speakers. The peculiarity lies in the lack of structure. After all, a lot of liberties are allowed not only in the construction of sentences. The use of some word forms also has several variations.
Difficulties and peculiarities of word processing
The Russian language has a huge number of assumptions that cannot be found in other cultures. Indeed, not only literary words are often used in speech, of which there are more than 150 thousand. But also dialectisms. Since there are many peoples and cultures in Russia, there are more than 250 thousand of them. Not surprisingly, even native speakers sometimes need to find the exact meanings of words. This can be done using explanatory dictionaries or a special WordMap service.
Why is such a platform convenient? This is a clear and simple dictionary of word meanings, which is proposed to be used online. The service allows:
to find out the exact meaning of a word or idiom;
determine its correct spelling;
understand how to properly emphasize it.
The site offers to get acquainted with the history of the word. It tells what language or culture it came from, when and by whom it was used in speech.
When looking up the meaning of words in a dictionary, it is important to understand its essence. After all, the sound component of each lexical unit in the language is inextricably linked with certain objects or phenomena. That is why when using the service, you should not put an equal sign between the meaning of the searched word and its concept. They are interconnected, but they are not a single whole. For example, the concept of the word “center” can be defined as the middle of something. However, specific meanings can indicate the interior of a room, a city, a geometric figure, etc. Sometimes it refers to a medical organization, mathematics or mechanical engineering. Polysemy is the complexity of the Russian language.
Finding values through WordMap
In order to find out what a word means, painstaking work has been carried out. After all, different manuals and collections can give different meanings of the same lexical constructions. To get the most complete picture of the word, you should contact the WordMap service. The system has values from the most popular and authoritative sources, including dictionaries:
Ozhegov;
Dahl;
medical;
cities;
jargons;
TSB, etc.
Thanks to this, you can find out not only all bookish, but also figurative meanings of a lexical construction.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
KinderCare at Kenilworth Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)
Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.
Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)
You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
Spanish
Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.
Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

“
My son is 11 months and joined Knowledge Beginnings in April when he was just 6 months. I am so happy I decided to enroll him with West 75th Street Knowledge Beginnings.
First, the staff are great. They are very understanding of parents’ needs and are flexible. The teachers ensures that the children are taken care of well (fed, diaper changes, naps), and the early education which is provided by their center is wonderful, which I believe is the most important thing.
I am very happy with the services and the care they provide my son. I will definitley recommend the center to other parents!

“
The Kindergarten program at Knowledge Beginnings was the perfect balance of fun and learning that we were looking to introduce our daughter to for a school environment. Ms. Michele, Ms. Kelli and the other teachers are absolutely amazing. They have a genuine interest in the children’s educational growth and their development of social skills. My daughter came into the program shy and timid and, although she is still shy, she is leaving a more confident and well-balanced first grader. The program features educationally creative projects, field trips, and activities. Thank you Ms. Kelli for your dedication! We will be enrolling our younger daughter in the program in a few years!

I would like to take a moment to express my praises for the Knowledge Beginnings in Naperville. My children have been attending the center since 2008, and I can not say enough good things about the staff. I always feel comfortable leaving my children in the care of the Knowledge Beginnings teachers and they always are so professional and kind. We are very blessed to be part of the Knowledge Beginnings family and I think you all should be very proud of the staff for their everyday efforts.

Hiking from New York to New Jersey with camera in hand: samsebeskazal — LiveJournal
This is a very informative post. Here everyone will find something for themselves. This is a photo walk from one state to another, and a story about unusual places. And photos of cars and ships. And yet, this is a small review of my new camera Fujifilm FinePix F660EXR, which I just received today, took out a brand new one, smelling like a Chinese factory, and took it with me. I bought the camera for my hard-earned money to replace the deceased Panasonic DMC-ZS3, and I will not be shy about it in expressions. An attentive reader will notice the reason for my bad mood right in the first photo. But I will not rush to conclusions, but I will tell everything as it is.
I decided to walk along the Bayonne Bridge (my post about it), which connects New York and New Jersey. In fact, it is not such an easy task to get from one state to another on foot or by bike. Especially in New York. The entire border runs through the water, and it can only be crossed by a bridge or a tunnel. All tunnels for pedestrians are closed, and of all the bridges, only the George Washington Bridge and the Bayonne Bridge have a walkway for pedestrians. I already walked around George Washington (although I didn’t write about it), so only Bayonne remained. So, to Bayonne! In New Jersey!
2. Started walking in Staten Island, where I parked my car on the street with the sonorous name of Hooker (translation). But there, I will report to you, the whole region is not far behind. You’ll have to wander around there somehow.
3. If you don’t understand the problem with the camera, I’ll show you again. I didn’t believe it either when I saw dust on the lens of a brand new camera. What the hell! – I shouted to the whole street “Fishing boat” and stamped my feet. Not only did FedEx manage to deliver it to me in three days instead of two, but also such a gift. But there is nothing to do, I go further with such a camera. Let this dust on the matrix be a black spot on the reputation of the Fuji company that sells such cameras. The only thing that doesn’t bother me in this story is that there are no problems with a return or replacement, I didn’t like it, I sent it back and got my money back. Only time is wasted, well, in extreme cases, I can get on the cost of the return shipment.
4. Enough about the bad stuff, let’s go back to the bridge. Here he is in front. Cars drive from New Jersey to New York and stop or slow down in front of a toll booth. I’ll tell you about the system separately, so let’s move on.
5. Make sure we are on the right bridge. And that’s not enough. The sign indicates that the bridge is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. This is such a huge state corporation with its own police, which owns the port terminals, airport, bridges, tunnels and even a piece of land where the towers of the World Trade Center stood.
6. Another tablet told us the year Staten Island was founded.
7. Another sign on the way, but this one is more interesting.
8. National Suicide Prevention Project. Well, yes, we’re going to the bridge. I don’t know the statistics, but quite often information slips in the news about another unfortunate person who lost his life in this way.
9. At the beginning of the bridge, I was attracted by a car of road workers with an original solution for arranging a toilet at the workplace.
10. There was also a bridge administration building. Almost every self-respecting bridge has something like that.
11. Finally, some views began to open. Nothing exciting at first. Just a street with workshops.
12. There is a footpath only on one side of the bridge. Walking is a little uncomfortable, especially when huge trucks fly by.
13. One of the lanes towards New Jersey was fenced off, and a special car was on duty at the beginning. It seems that these birds have tried, but in fact it is paint.
14. Finally something interesting!
15. Both! BMW Isetta.
16. And one more! Two Isettas.
17. Yes, even without them it’s good here.
18. Let’s move on. Look, there’s something in the bushes.
19. So this is an abandoned railway line. I’ve already run into her.
20. Then it’s just the other side of life. Beds detected!
21. Here the peasant decided to defeat the grass, but the grass defeated the peasant.
22. A car with a stationary toilet drove by. From it, right on the go, the workers deftly collected cones. Behind them was covered by a police car with horns.
23. Some auto repair shops went downstairs.
24. On the roof of one of them there was a large gothic sign.
25. Finally open spaces. Shot without zoom. It was then that the car below caught my attention.
26. I moved forward a little and shot it at the maximum optical zoom. The brand is already visible here, but it was still not clear on the camera screen.
27. Connect digital. Vzhzhzhik. Be-Em-Ve 525. Interestingly, if the previous photo is then enlarged to the size of this one on a computer, then the quality will be better. I shot everything in the highest possible quality, and everything in automatic mode. I didn’t do any settings by hand. Everything the camera wanted.
28. Some kind of empty area next to the bridge with an anti-tank fence made of concrete blocks.
29. In the distance is an old ferry and two suspicious minibuses with open doors. They must be weathering the smell of dark dealings. Exactly the same ferry runs from Manhattan to Governors Island.
30. An unknown structure right in front of the bridge. And a stain! Wow, I was angry because of him.
31. We continue to move on. We are even overtaken by rare pedestrians.
32. A wonderful lagoon opened up before our eyes.
33. With the purest water.
34. Every tire is visible. Ecology though!
35. Trucks are not allowed to make loud noises. The caption at the bottom looks like a quote from the Bible.
36. Garbage and bulk cargo barge.
37. Industrial views of the Staten Island side. By this shot, it becomes quite obvious that the camera is quite brazenly lathering on the right. And only on the right.
38. On the zoom, there is less soap on the right and more on the left. For those who are not interested in the camera, I’ll tell you that in the photo the Goethals Bridge (left) and the Arthur Kill railway drawbridge (right). They connect Staten Island with Elizabeth, New Jersey. The railway bridge was built in 1959, worked until 1990, and then was abandoned for 16 years, until in 2006 it was repaired, and trains began to run on it again. Goethals is generally a grandfather, he is already 84 years old and they want to send him to the scrap, replacing him with a new one.
39. St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Elizabeth. In the foreground, uninhabited Shooters Island.
40. Looking back.
41. Here the footpath separates from the carriageway and runs separately from it. Another sign for potential suicides.
42. Everyone has covered the bottom with foil and the bridge is being prepared for painting. The view is reminiscent of the computer game Half-life.
43. Soon the top point of the bridge.
44. Here you can see how the footpath goes. There are doors blocking access to the top.
45. The bridge is painted with semi-gloss silver.
46. And these are the cables for which the roadbed of the bridge is suspended. And I’ll tell you, he sways like crazy. Especially as the truck flies by, you can see how the steel ropes stagger and the surface trembles underfoot.
47. Then I decided to shoot a video in HD with a new camera. See what came of it. The image shakes, including due to the shaking of the bridge. But the complete lack of focus cannot be attributed to the bridge. Fuji ow! You still do not count. Already the third.
48. They promised fast work. I saw a speeding boat, took out a camera, aimed it. Click. Yes. It’s fast and high quality. You can even read the tail number on the boat. Only here you need to get used to pressing the power button with a slight delay, but the zoom slows down a bit. But overall better than my last Panasonic.
49. And the tug turned out well. Although if a low-speed tug did not come out at the camera, then it could be immediately thrown into the waters of the Kill Van Kull Strait. Directly from the Bayonne bridge.
50. From this vantage point I saw strange iron objects and a coal elevator made of concrete behind the ferry.
51. That’s New Jersey. Manhattan in the distance.
52. Let’s try our zoom. Maximum magnification. But here the hot air greatly distorts everything.
53. Brooklyn is visible to the right.
54. The landscape of New Jersey is no different from Staten Island. The same big and empty territory.
55. Ducks flew under the bridge, but with them the number with quick start and instant zoom did not come out. The ducks turned out a little oily.
56. This is one of the pillars of the bridge, which, according to the project, was to be lined with granite.
57. At last there were houses.
58. Below the rails lay down in the water.
59. And something unpleasant-looking melted and the glass into the water.
60. Another zoomed tug.
61. And his felling shot at the maximum approximation. Here another problem emerged. Looking at the screen it is not at all clear whether the photo turned out or not. They all seem a little blurry. I was sure that half of them did not turn out, and when I opened them on the computer, it turned out that everything was fine, and only 4 out of more than three hundred shots were ruined. It’s kind of like a pleasant surprise, but I want objectivity from the preview, but it’s not here.
62. These are just tire tracks on small gravel. One of the few photos I edited before uploading. Pretty much everything else is the same. And it’s actually good. Pretty good color reproduction. Panasonic demanded much more attention to their works.
63. Blurry even gives a certain charm to photographs.
64. This house deserved my attention only because it was the first on my way.
65. I also liked the man smoking on the roof. I found a good smoker.
66. Sign warning about steps ahead. We’re almost there.
67. Buses.
68. They have a bike rack on the front. Not everyone, but there is. This option is missing from their New York counterparts.
69. Industrial buildings sheathed with iron.
70. Finally residential buildings. A great place to buy yourself a cozy nest, I think.
71. Everything is like with people.
72. Car with the inscription Bayonne Public Education Department. Great combination with the pattern.
73. Trucks.
74. Favorite American theme – transformers on poles.
75. A playground was discovered under the bridge.
76. And a memorial plaque with Polish surnames.
77. Beautiful cars were parked next to the slope.
78. This one is the most beautiful of all.
79. The descent itself looks like this, and apparently closes at night.
Let’s go for a walk around New Jersey.
80.Here is another shot showing the inadequacy of the camera. At the preview, I was sure that he was screwed up, and everything was dark on a light sky. In real life, everything is fine. And I didn’t edit it.
81. I really wanted to find something French in Bayonne, it is named after the French Bayonne, and even its flag is almost French. But to be honest, it’s a bit tricky there.
82. Private railway.
83. No, they are not gendarmes.
84. And the houses don’t even look like cozy chateaus.
85. But a buffer of the original design was found. Maybe he’s from France?
86. There are often solar panels on the poles that feed the lantern.
87. Copper casting workshop. Maybe they use the secrets of French masters here?
88. For some reason, the design is Italian, not French.
89. Innovative crap to block the street.
90. A special platform for the blind is just carelessly glued to the concrete.
91. I remember there was a fitness planet in St. Petersburg.
92. We reached some shopping center, which is 80% empty. Only fitness, a liquor store, and a Chinese buffet with very democratic prices by New York standards are open.
93. At a non-working pharmacy, I came across a funny sign calling to stop feeding cats in this place.
94. Another sign showed us the way to the water and at the same time introduced us to the coat of arms of the city.
95. Just by the water, we found the answer to the reason for the ban on feeding cats. The reason was the cats themselves. A lot of cats. I think over a hundred. They were everywhere. You look under the bush, and there are five cats sitting there. Someone ran away, and someone just lay on the path looking at passers-by. Some kind of cat sanctuary. I can imagine how all this caudle came for food to the doors of the pharmacy. After that, it is not at all surprising that the pharmacy moved out.
96. Beautiful ruins of a pier were found near the water.
97. And container ships unloading at Port Elizabeth.
98. Every regular reader of this blog knows that this is McAlister’s tugboat.
99. The views here are of course amazing. The Azure Coast is resting.
100. Industrial dream, not views.
101. Newark Bay Bridge. Behind it is the Upper Bay Railway Bridge.
102. Giant port cranes for unloading container ships.
103. Such beauty that I didn’t want to leave. I would just live there.
104. Some did.
105. We decided to go deeper into the quarters. Here, beautiful pedestrian crossings were discovered with organized drivers who slowed down ahead of them. Yes. This is not New York.
106. Outdoor advertising. On the left is the fair, on the right is the US Marine Corps.
107. This is probably the most French look that I found there.
108. Then something rustled from above and a surface metro train arrived.
109. This was his final station. There are trains to Manhattan.
110. A conceptual sculpture was found in front of the station. Here you can guess what it is about.
111. In fact, this is a composition of the wheels of old trains.
112. And what a beautiful sidewalk here.
113. The same concrete as in New York, but beautiful and two-tone.
114. On the contrary, there are nice little houses. But this Bayonne of yours turned out to be nothing.
115. The branch went towards Manhattan.
116. Kindergarten.
117. The bumper on the road is made through wooden spacers.
118. Someone methodically sticks chewing gum on a concrete support.
119. It turned out to be a pretty town.
120. Bus stop.
121. Two pizzas for $12. Yes, this is not a city, but a dream!
122. The cost of renting apartments has finally finished off. But still there is an impression that something is not right here. It’s all too good for this part of New Jersey.
123. Bayonne rubbish.
124. Jesus, Elvis and you.
125. Street parking for residents only.
126. We return back to the bridge.
127. And here is the beauty.
128. Well, how to pass by and not try a new camera.
129. And Jeep to the heap. What is already trifles, so the post is prohibitively long.
130. The street signs in Bayonne are wonderful.
131. All right. Bridge.
132. I decided to remove the degree of rustiness. In fact, iron is still buzzing. But it needs to be sandblasted and painted.
133. Someone from the sky shone a flashlight.
134. I looked down, and there a huge paratrooper floated up.
136. Who is Winch? Grinch’s brother?
137. It turned out that it was a car transporter from Panama.
Here my camera took frame 367 and died. In principle, not bad. They promised only 300 on a single charge, and then 367 and even video. It, by the way, most of all the battery and planted. Without him, there would probably be a hundred more. The result is not comforting. The camera seems to be not bad for its money, but it will have to be returned. If you can still live without a decent video, then definitely not with soap on the lens. What do you say looking at these photos? By the way, any one can be increased by replacing s800 with s2000 in its address. This also applies to the rest of the magazine, if anything.

Beach holidays, cruises, theme parks, all-inclusive resorts, mountain lodges, and ranches/farms are all great options for little ones.
All babies and toddlers are different and some can handle travel much better than others. Likewise, some travel destinations are better suited to meet the needs of families with children. Annapolis – DreamYachtCharter Russia
Day 1: Rock Hall is a quaint fishing town and a great place to travel. It offers many marinas, shops, restaurants, and a burgeoning artists’ settlement. Overlooking Rock Hall and the Chesapeake Bay, Waterman’s Crab House is well known for its first-class stewed crabs, among other delicious dishes. Swan Creek has long been a top destination for cruising yachts due to its countryside beauty. This well-sheltered bay, north of Rock Hall Harbor, offers excellent anchorage.
Day 2: Baltimore Harbor includes all of the water west of the National Aquarium in Baltimore and the Rusty Scupper Restaurant. You’ll find plenty to do and see in Inner Harbor’s inner bay, all within walking distance. Locals and visitors alike can’t help but enjoy so many great restaurants, cultural events and exciting nightlife.
Day 3: Head to the Chester River, the second largest river on the east bank. Much of the river’s shoreline is closely bordered by countryside and grand estates. The width of the river at its widest point is almost 3 miles, then the river gradually narrows to about a quarter of a mile at Chestertown, with good traffic in a fenced channel. After Easter Neck Island, which is a nature reserve, the Chester River branches into four wide branches, each of which is attractive in its own way.
Day 4: The quiet wharves of Mill Creek and Whitehall Bay are located between the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the River Severn. Be sure to pay attention to the winding channel with steep banks. These places have the most convenient anchorages, and there is also the famous Cantler’s restaurant, known for some of the best stewed crabs in the region.
Day 5: Annapolis is the capital of Maryland and is considered the yachting capital of America. You can dock, anchor or moor to a buoy in the harbor and then explore Annapolis, a small town full of history, quaint streets, shops and restaurants. The US Naval Academy is also located here: a must-see place.
Day 6: Another unusual seaside village, Saint Michel, is located on an idyllic peninsula. It became an important shipbuilding center, best known for its Baltimore Clippers, the fastest sailing ship of its time. Today, the city is better known as a popular yachting center and the site of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The museum houses the largest collection of Chesapeake Bay artifacts, fine art and original ships.
Day 7: Head to Wye River on the east bank. The arms of the river span Wye Island and it has 21 miles of coastline. There are no raw materials or utilities on the island. Isolated anchorages and rich historical heritage are the main attractions. Stately old houses, many dating back to colonial times, line the banks at every turn.
Day 8: Annapolis is the capital of Maryland and is considered the yachting capital of America. The Sahnieser Yachting Center has a full service marina and shipyard. It is located in the city center and has a swimming pool, restaurant, free bikes, grocery delivery and more.
Day 9: Sail to Deltaville and visit the Doziers Regatta Point Yachting Center. The facility features reinforced concrete floating docks, a southern-style clubhouse and complimentary vehicles. From the yacht marina, take a boat across the bay to get to the train restaurant, or head into town (about 3 miles) to check out other local establishments.
Day 10: The Ocean Marine Yacht Center is located just half a mile south of the zero mile marker on the inland waterway in Portsmouth, Virginia. In addition to being easy to find, this new complex also features a state of the art harbor with all the amenities, an indoor storage area, a fabrication shop and a workshop for boats of all sizes. Hungry? There are many excellent restaurants within minutes of the marina.
Day 11: Bay Creek is the perfect combination of elegant homes, fine restaurants, a world-class golf resort, and a state-of-the-art beach club and fitness center – coastal living at its best. Here, “getting away from everything” means moving closer to a life that you could only imagine before. Bay Creek is a true haven with historic Cape Charles on the Chesapeake Bay just minutes from Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
Day 12: Chesapeake Bay Marina at Tides Inn Resort complements the beauty and serenity of a secluded harbor and provides world-class resort amenities. Located on Carters Creek, 11 miles from Windmill Point, the marina accommodates up to 24 yachts of various sizes.
Day 13: The canal leading to the Onankok shipyard is very winding, but don’t worry – it’s deep enough to be easy to navigate. There is no grocery store within walking distance, but you can arrange with the Harbor Master to deliver everything you need. You can be provided with a list of restaurants in the city, where you will also find many shops and art galleries.
Day 14: Somers Cove Marina in Chrisfield has a pool, picnic tables, BBQ and golf program. If you need to stock up on groceries, there is a grocery store one mile from here. Tours of Janes Island State Park and boat trips to Smith Island and Tangier Island are guaranteed to be the best time here.
Day 15: St. Leonard Creek is considered one of the most beautiful places on the Patuxent River. This bay, five miles long, lies on the north bank of the river, and is a mixture of swamps, a range of hills, and steep, wooded cliffs. At the mouth of Jones Creek is Vera’s White Sands Beach Club. Decorated with treasures from the South Sea, collected from international voyages, Vera is a wonderful marina that welcomes all sea travelers.
Day 16: Returning to Solomons Island, where the local economy was once supported by a fish cannery, and now its mainstay is tourism. Solomons remains a fishing village, with many work boats and an active charter fishing fleet, but it also offers many restaurants, shops and holiday events.
Day 17: Depart for Oxford, which is located on the East Bank and is bordered on three sides by the Thread Avon River and Town Creek. Oxford charm is about a quiet little town where the townspeople come across as good old friends. The locals work hard to maintain a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and boast a convenient shopping area full of shops, restaurants and attractions.
Day 18: Cambridge is about 13 miles from the mouth of the Choptank River. It was founded in 1684 and is one of the oldest cities in Maryland. It was founded in 1684 and is one of the oldest cities in Maryland. Graceful 19th-century houses lining Cambridge’s shaded streets hail from a time when the city was an economic and social hub. This legacy is also proudly preserved in its maritime museums: the Richardson Maritime Museum, Meredith House with its Heritage Museum and Gardens, Skipjack Nathan, Sailwinds Park and Choptank River Fishing Wharf. There is plenty of room in Cambridge Bay for those looking for a sheltered place to stay.
Day 19: Herrington Harbor South Marina and Herrington Harbor North Marina are located on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay and offer overnight stays, several restaurants, cocktail lounges and a wide range of amenities. Due to the popularity of Herrington Harbor South, it’s best to book in advance. For a great beachfront dinner in a stylish yet casual atmosphere, we recommend Mango’s Bar & Grill.
Day 20: Galesville’s quiet harbor on the West River is the perfect place for the penultimate day of a Dream Yacht trip. Spend your well deserved time relaxing and enjoying the region’s natural beauty.
Day 21: Head to Annapolis Bay Charters, discussing the adventures of the past week. You will arrive in five or seven hours. And after leaving, you will immediately want to come back here again.

Cascadia has successfully built and fostered a very supportive and transformative environment for the budding kids. The innovative approach of the Cascadia teachers to nurture well roundedness in students has been awe-inspiring. Their infectious enthusiasm, energy and ability to inspire the students in pushing the boundaries have made the world of difference for my daughter
— Anindita (Parent of alumnus now at Forest Ridge)
Cascadia is a school that inspires excellence and creativity in kids. After sending both of our kids to Cascadia, we cannot even compare it to any other private school in the area. Cascadia gives our kids the high quality education they deserve and work hard for. The teachers are incredible and introduce the kids into fun activities and hands on learning. Cascadia simply does it all.
— Alina (Parent of alumni now at Lakeside School and The Overlake School)
Every single year, the kind, dedicated teachers gave our kids strong work habits, excellent academics, fun and creative inquiry-based projects, and memorable outside-the-classroom field trips to build teamwork and self-awareness. The work they do in shaping kids into well-rounded little people is remarkable; the learning skills they impart really go beyond the classroom. This school is a true gem and an oasis for a happy childhood.
— Lea (Parent of alumni now at Eastside Prep and Lakeside School)
Montessori child development centers through the eyes of parents
The method of Maria Montessori , the great Italian teacher and doctor of science, certainly deserves special attention when it comes to quality preschool education. The main role in the Montessori system is assigned to the child, as a unique personality, which from birth is characterized by self-improvement and love of work.
The child is surrounded by a developing environment that encourages him to explore the world. It is this environment that is a teacher for the baby, and the mentor, being nearby, can only unobtrusively guide, help, but in no case limit the freedom of the child, his aspirations, and independence. In fact, the Montessori method is not even a method, but a way of life in which parents have to be directly involved.
This is where the common, but surprisingly accurate phrase appeared that: “The Montessori method is suitable for all children, but it is not suitable for every parent.”
The motto of the Montessori system is HELP ME DO IT MYSELF! And the goal is a skillful direction of self-development of children, not breaking them, but accepting them as they are.
How are Montessori children’s development centers equipped?
The spacious classroom is divided into zones so that the child can decide for himself what he will be interested in doing at any time. There is a sector of practical life where a child can really learn the skills of domestic service. The sensory zone gives the child a whole cascade of tactile sensations. In the mathematical zone, material has been collected to immerse the child in the world of numbers, signs, measurements and comparisons. The language zone gently prepares your child for reading and writing.
Some Montessori child development centers have a so-called space zone where children learn about the solar system, the Earth, peoples, etc.
All items, equipment, and unique teaching aids that children deal with are made from environmentally friendly, and therefore expensive materials. But here you will not find anything colorful, screaming, annoyingly buzzing like Chinese toys, nothing that distracts the baby’s attention from the process of cognition. In general, as many parents note, there is amazing silence and calmness in the classroom during children’s classes.
The games here are intuitive, intellectual, aimed at developing the child’s fine motor skills: pouring, pouring, folding, lining up, as well as various sorting by features, shape and color, edible-inedible, wild-homemade, etc.
The undeniable advantages of this method
The advantages of the Montessori method are evidenced by the fact that many parents would prefer children’s developmental classes according to this system. The story of a foreign mother who, due to financial difficulties, had to transfer her son from a Montessori school to a regular class, is striking. The woman did not say anything about grades, level of knowledge, discipline and other important things, she bitterly noted only that the child’s eyes began to grow dim …
So, the advantages of the Montessori method noted by parents:
+1. The development of independence. Achieving results without any instructions, corrections, and adjustments from an adult.
+2. Freedom of movement and choice of occupation. The kid is doing exactly what his soul is at the moment. Everything is done diligently and with pleasure, which means that a new skill will not be long in coming.
+3. Comfortable, cozy, friendly environment. Calmness, and only calmness during classes. Which in general favorably affects the nervous system of the child.
+4. The presence of parents in class , so that they themselves can see what developmental activities their child prefers. And to draw conclusions about what needs to be done with the child more and more carefully.
+5. Order. The Montessori classroom has its own, but immutable rules. For example: took, used – put in place. Or: don’t interfere with another’s work. In a word, freedom is freedom, but you must not infringe on the freedom of others.
+6. Experienced educators who are able to find an approach to each child, provide an optimal environment for children’s activities, and gently teach how to use this environment.
Plus – minus
The system has such a plus, which smoothly flows into a minus. This is the discipline of a child. Montessori proponents claim that freedom of choice gives rise to the true discipline of the baby. The child learns to observe various rules of behavior: in the center – one, at home – others, at school – there will be third. But opponents of the method claim the opposite. After everything is allowed and allowed in the development center, it is very difficult for a child to adapt to the strict requirements of our comprehensive school.
The same is noted by mothers who took their children to child development centers according to the Montessori method. Primary school teachers assure that such a child is very difficult to get to do what needs to be done. Supporters of the method retort that this is the problem of a teacher who cannot interest a young student. In most cases, a conflict situation arises…
Disadvantages of the Montessori method
-1. As we said above, this is a difficult adaptation of children to a regular school.
-2. Long-term training of Montessori teachers.
-3. Excessive independence , which prevents the child from communicating in a team.
-4. The predominance of intellectual pursuits over creative ones. The inadmissibility of the usual children’s role-playing games. Lack of traditional toys. The absence of fairy tales, poems, songs, as activities leading the child away from reality.
-5. And the biggest disadvantage of children’s development centers under this program is privacy and high payment. Montessori mini-kindergartens are the most expensive. Not every parent can shell out a tidy sum per month, for two classes a week, according to the system of a great teacher.
Pseudo Montessori Child Development Centers
If you have been invited to a trial Montessori lesson, then ask the teacher if he really has a certificate in this profile. It is not worth paying a lot of money for a brand if it has little to do with the truly unique method of Maria Montessori.
In this case, it will be much cheaper and more useful to send the child to another good child development center that uses its own developments, which give not only a stable and high-quality result of preschool education, but also a good mood.
May your choice be successful!
Anniversary gift or do-it-yourself Montessori room – 12 answers and he doesn’t feel like going into closets.
How to make Montessori shelving from a simple wall, as well as how to fill them, read here (many photos): I go through this school of life on my own, acquiring bumps, scratches and broken nails. Montessori was not married, she had to send the baby to the village for 10 years, such were the orders with illegitimate babies. I think her method would not have changed much, but this is an interesting fact of the biography of the great teacher who raised many hundreds of other people’s children. Montessori’s works like “Children-Others” are difficult to read, they are written deeply and theoretically. I am not a fan of any particular parenting technique, every mother intuitively knows and feels how to raise her child. Still, I liked her method.
* * *
Having studied the theory (besides Montessori herself, I read many light books advising “how to become a Montessori mother”) and having tried everything in practice (we went to different children’s centers, watched the baby, how he reacts to such an environment and what interests him most) I furiously began to unscrew the lower doors of the cabinets with a screwdriver.
The idea was to simply put the toys neatly on two shelves of each locker so that the baby would take, play and put them back in their place. But, as we can see, it is a special pleasure for the World to climb into the depths of the shelf, where I leave especially beloved developments. On the bottom shelf is also a favorite, and on the top – a new one, so that it is at eye level and you immediately want to take it to play.
The principle of filling was as follows: as many logical, educational, wooden toys, constructors and cubes as possible, as few as possible bright plastic “one-word” and “one-song” toys, it is desirable to exclude. We take interesting plastic toys from our CHERRY rental, then return them – they are bulky, it is not necessary to keep them at home, they played and gave away – the rental philosophy is very convenient for living in small apartments).
So, the books were placed in front of the TV, facing forward, so that you could take any. Miropupsik is not yet a bookworm, he especially doesn’t like being read to, only himself (wiggles his finger and mummies), but he has books with opening windows, wheels and scrolling mechanisms (a series of “twist, play, study” according to the Robins method) in favor.
On the left, we see a yoyo (not caught on yet), cubes of different colors, a house-sorter, which every self-respecting kid should have, as well as two toys that we both love.
Funny buckets with balloons – we can both look at them for almost hours! A truly mesmerizing sight. The principle of a waterfall-cascade is to put a ball in a bucket and it will fall into other buckets until it reaches the very bottom. The child develops fine motor skills very well – until he takes a small ball (do not give it unattended! – swallow it right there) with his still unruly fingers, until he tries on with his hand which bucket to put in. In short, I recommend.
Maze “Krosh” – a cute hare that can be swayed from side to side and colored figures that need to be moved through the maze – we develop logic.
There is also parking for cars (cars are our everything! We can spend hours on the table, on the floor, on mom, on the bed, on the windowsill, on the guests, on plates of food and even on the toilet – very interesting to open the lid and trace the path of the car into the depths of the sea…) and a cool Magformers magnetic constructor. Of course, these intelligent expensive construction sets are not quite suitable for a tender age, but my mother is fond of them at 5 in the morning, when she sleeps with one eye and watches her lark with the other, who strives to climb somewhere. I make all sorts of figures, and the kid mostly enjoys the destruction of my creations – well, so be it for now).
The next shelf is musical and tactile. The kid really likes to play the piano and press the buttons on the saxophone, but the hit of the season is the old music center. I didn’t even throw it away, I really like the baby girl to press all these buttons, open the cassette player, etc. Nearby is a hand made buisyboard – a homemade development board. It is called “everything that was, then they stuck it” – for half a year now she has been with him, she is not particularly enthusiastic, but she can stick with pleasure. I really like the handset, the ratchet and switches (parents, run to the hardware store!).
All horizontal surfaces are regarded as a place to play – brushed away all the books in front of the TV and put his toys. It is interesting that Mirsky is interested in any surface height – even at the level of the chest, even at the level of the forehead, nothing that needs to be stretched – I will play anyway).
Again, everything for the development of fine motor skills: the Nikitins’ unicube (early, early yet, but he plays like with just cubes), a bracelet with beads – you can put it on your hand, I like it very much. The crumbs (soft squares) didn’t go at all – that’s all. I keep it only to show on their example the various daily actions “the boy goes to bed”, “the girl washes the dishes. ” Pyramid without some parts – it can be folded both up and inside – the reverse side is hollow. Next – chains of different colors, shapes and even notches on the link, I didn’t even think that I would like it that way – to couple / unhook, fold somewhere, just twist, wrap, etc.
Below, our love – I highly recommend the little thing with multi-colored geometric shapes – really captivates the child. The square “Bomik” made of foam generally has to be hidden – for hours mom inserts figurines and walls, and the World takes it out, a very cool thing. Well, and all our favorite lids (lid mania, I think, overtakes all children aged 0.8 to 18 months) in a bowl with holes, the lids need to be removed from the web of rubber bands – it develops the brain, intelligence, hands.
Back row – puzzles – cars. Oooh, Mirsky is ready to climb after them not only here, but also far away. It does not fold very well yet, but it turns it over in its hands, examines it, puts it in a box. Gnomes and Houses is a good bingo game. Well, Doman-Manichenko + a bunch of cards: English with translation, car brands and logos, words, letters, animals…0005
And the last open shelves – pyramids of various types, dominoes (not yet), rubber toys-squeakers from our Soviet childhood and a floor mosaic on which it was written “from a year”, but it’s hard for me to unstick the mosaics from each other friend…
Another super-thing is the perfect height and width table. Absolutely not for children, but Italian, magazine – perfectly suited in height (80 cm), the kid draws on it, and rolls cars, and under it there is still kindness and kindness. These are finger paints and brushes, sketchbooks and wallpaper rolls (yes, yes, I bought the cheapest ones – they unwind perfectly, spread on the table and you are not afraid that the child will go beyond A4 and draw in the wrong place), wax crayons and special baby artberry felt-tip pens that you can eat, which, in fact, Mupsik does with great pleasure. Plasticine play doh and dough for modeling – I really like it, the kid has not appreciated it yet, he tries to eat everything, but sometimes no, no, yes, and he will make some kind of masterpiece. Also here are reusable stickers (I advise from a year, not later, it develops a pen well, the main thing is that the baby does not stick them everywhere, mine does not, only in the right places), sketchbooks for drawing with cotton swabs, water, paper, space sand and frames -inserts with animals – they will never be compared with cars, but they will perfectly keep them company in the development of a small kitten-child.
Books were placed behind the glass cabinets to be opened and taken by himself, posters and paintings by famous artists were glued to the glass.
Obligatory purchase, I think, is ortho mats. Spread out in front of racks with your favorite toys – here you have a useful foot massage, the points on which act on the healing of the whole organism as a whole. Yes, here the World stands on them in shoes and, in response to the sad oil news, pretends to be an Arab sheikh, playing with a pink car…
Other toys and balls for the dry pool are stored in such soft bags that can fit in their entirety.
Also in the room is a fitball, a sofa and an armchair – that’s the whole country of Montessoria.
The rest of the apartment lacks the required Montessori tricks.
Bedside table for Mimi-Boots. There is also a hook for clothes, where a bucket for a sandbox is hung.
Pictures of famous artists were hung everywhere (if someone needs it, I can send it straight in one file, all that remains is to print it out) and posters, so when Mirik got to the Pushkin Museum, he was absolutely not at a loss, he thought “oh, almost like at home”) .
In the kitchen, magnets (at least 5 minutes let the soup stir on the stove) and squares are a handy thing if the floor is cold.
