Competencies:

Excellent understanding of training methods used in working with the developmentally disabled required.

Must be able to negotiate several flights of stairs during a shift.

Must be able to complete training to operate/assist with a Hoya lift and other mechanical devices for safe handling of consumers.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Provide transportation for consumers as needed for appointments, errands, and outings. Use of personal vehicle may be required.

Work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and overnight as scheduled.

Document BLS groups and all clinical notes in accordance with agency polices and within 24 hours.

Bathe, feed, dress, and ambulate clients to ensure proper grooming.

Conduct food inventory twice weekly and as assigned by supervisor.

Dispose of expired food.

Conduct supplies inventory.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, wipe down surfaces, general cleaning of facility, and all other janitorial duties as assigned.

Conduct client trainings as assigned by supervisor.

Pick-up client prescriptions from pharmacy.

Accompany clients to appointments.

Ensure all receipts and monies are returned to supervisor immediately after outing(s).

Cook and provide meals according to diet and posted menu.

Maintain communication and awareness of current events by reading memos, e-mails, bulletin boards, and communication logs.

Work independently and/or with teams to complete assigned tasks accurately and in a timely manner with minimum supervision.

Support Organizational Code of Conduct, Standards Compliance, HIPAA and Security Programs by ensuring job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner, assessing the work area for non-compliance and notifying the supervisor, manager, Executive Director or designee as appropriate, and maintaining training requirements and understanding that training is a required condition of employment.

Maintain the confidential nature of all consumer and Organization related activities by not divulging information outside the facility, discussing information within the facility on a need-to-know basis, acknowledging policy annually by signing confidentiality statement, and by referring media and general inquiries to the Executive Director.

Adhere to attendance and punctuality policy by allowing adequate time to arrive, clock-in and assume responsibilities at designated time, adhering to meal and break times and making timely requests for annual leave and reporting the need for sick leave in accordance with policy.

Comply with all standards related to safety and health by maintaining current TB Test, CPR/First Aid, CPI, and by reporting infections and on-the-job injuries in accordance with policy.

Identify opportunities for improving the quality of services provided by the department and the organization.

Must complete MAC training requirements within 45 days of start date (effective November 1, 2019) and maintain MAC certification

All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or Executive Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with consumers with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities preferred.

One (1) year experience in a mental health setting preferred.

Current Alabama driver’s license and good driving record as defined by Indian Rivers’ policy.

Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.

We joined CECC in august 2021 and our daughter quickly fell in love with all the teachers! They were patient and kind with her and truly got to know her and her likes / dislikes. Our daughter was excited fordrop off each morning and the teachers seemed genuinely happy to see her each day. They also worked with us and the county infants and tots program in working towards speech / language development goals.
The CECC program offers a hands on approach to learning. One of the best parts was getting all the crafts home every week to see what she’s accomplished in that week. The teachers communicated very well both at drop off / pick up and through the app with photos and messages.
I would definitely recommend their program! We decided to move out of the area and were sad to leave CECC. We will miss all the teachers and their hands on support for our daughter….

Each center is equipped with trained staff to facilitate the sanitation of toys and manipulatives throughout the day in addition to frequently touched surfaces. Professional cleaners clean school buildings top to bottom every evening after pick-up.

What is your face mask policy?

Academy children, staff and families have the option to wear a mask throughout the day. Academy supports each individual’s personal choice! If there is a reported or suspected case of COVID-19, Academy reserves the right to require all children, staff and families to wear a mask for a minimum of 5 days while inside the facility.

But he himself was a threat – as an individual, or rather one of an endless string of elusive individuals. Ten hours later, the thought still haunted Wayne. He stood on the grassy shoulder of a road that had not been traveled for a long time, watching the dapper, self-confident figure of a criminal disappear into the distance, rushing towards absolute, unfettered freedom. Jensen could have easily finished him off – it wouldn’t have hurt his conscience in the least, but for some reason Wayne didn’t know, he didn’t. Perhaps the scoundrel felt malevolent pleasure at the thought that the authorities would be alerted to the emergence of a problem that they could not solve. Or maybe he was afraid of any accidental malfunctions in the projector and left its author life so that he could fix possible damage. The car sped away, raising a cloud of dust. Wayne watched her until she was out of sight, the words in his ears intrusively sounding: “Yes, I could take the place of the chief of police …” He stooped, he strode to the nearest village. “He can take anyone’s place,” Wayne muttered. “Whoever.” He repeated these words until they bored him. Then he slightly changed them and muttered: “Whatever he wants!” He stared at the sky, at the distant line of the horizon, he did not notice either one or the other, for he was completely captured by a new idea: “Whatever he wants . .. Lord, this is an idea! Whatever he wants! In his twenty years of turbulent life outside the law, Jensen successfully managed to participate in even the most risky ventures. The only mistake he made was the second murder, which nearly cost him his life. He learned a lot from his fellow craftsmen, was a perfect master of the tactics and methods of his profession, and in the underworld enjoyed a reputation as an experienced and dexterous person. And this experience and dexterity were now enclosed in a young body, which almost automatically reacted to any criminal situation. Walking towards the small provincial bank, Jensen was fully aware of his abilities. These simpletons keep their money as if they are just waiting to be pocketed by some lone robber. A couple of threatening gestures, a shot or two if necessary – and it’s in the bag. It’s easier not to think of it. The special charm of the forthcoming operation was given by several details that completed the performance. This time, the audience will do without the spectacular spectacle of a hasty escape, dizzying races in which the police car literally hangs on the tail of the criminal. Nor will he stoop to such a cheap melodramatic device as the black mask. He just goes in, takes it, goes out and hides it. And that’s all. Which he did. He appeared in the lobby twenty seconds before closing time, when there was not a single customer left, and showed the cashier an item, which he casually took out of his pocket. The cashier looked out the window and turned pale. – If you remain silent, I will not touch you. To get his words across to the cashier’s mind, Jensen pushed the muzzle of his revolver forward a little and wondered if he’d managed to put on the savage face he could make before. – Wrap the papers in a bag, I’ll take it with me. Get up and don’t hesitate to vote. If I like your service, I will visit you again. Moving as if in a dream, the cashier hurriedly stuffed bundles of banknotes into a bag. The total amount was small. Jensen didn’t expect that this tiny office with two employees would be a big booty. But money, as it were, climbs into his hands and will help him hold out until he prepares for larger and more daring raids. Backing away, he walked to the door leading to the headmaster’s office and kicked it open. The worthy head of the bank reached into the bottle, but, seeing the muzzle of a pistol pointed at him, showed quick wits, closed his mouth and raised his hands. Jensen left the bank building two minutes later, closing the front door carefully behind him. The two men were locked in the director’s office, but he didn’t even bother to tie them up. They won’t be able to use the phone – he took care of that. It would take them at least five minutes to get out, which was more than enough time for him. Slowly, he got into the car, turned on the average speed and two minutes later he calmly locked the loot in the trunk of another car, which delivered him home to a one-room apartment. There he sat down in front of the window and waited. The projector’s helmet rested on his head, and the switch knob was easy to reach. All his attention, however, was concentrated on the window that overlooked the street. As he reached for the switch, the police chase had just begun. He carefully hid the projector. In the end, that was what mattered most. The precious device required special care. It had to be preserved, no matter what the cost. He could not lose it, lose the opportunity to use it. No way, no money! If he ever had to choose between the apparatus and prey, he would not hesitate to send the prey to hell. Thinking in this way, he sauntered along the street, hiding behind a new, somewhat more modest “facade”: his hands were thrust into the pockets of coarse, home-made trousers, ax shoes clatter on the pavement like steel shoes, his lips protruded – he was about to whistle. [2] The Boston Public Library currently has one location in East Boston, at 365 Bremen Street in Bremen Street Park. This branch opened in November 2013. The old branches at 276 Meridian Street and 18 Barnes Avenue closed in 2013, shortly before the current branch opened. Community Resources East Boston has a wide range of community resources, both non-profit and publicly funded. The Chinese are afraid of the authorities The Chinese are very good workers. They are efficient and communicative. You don’t have to run after them, it’s enough to explain the task once and that’s it. And everything is always calm and organized with them. They are open by themselves, I spent a lot of time communicating with them. There were always some common interests and themes. But it is clear that they have a slightly different mindset. Finger Painting Ideas for Preschoolers There are many different ways to finger paint – expose your kids to different techniques, types of paint and methods of painting. Here are some ideas. Finger Painting Techniques Young artists can use their fingertips, palms of hands, sides of hands, or even forearms and elbows to apply and move paint. Your kids can paint any types of images they want, from letters, numbers, and shapes, to finger painting animals and other favourite designs. They may use other tools, as well; the teeth of combs, for example, make interesting designs in the paint. Finger Painting Methods There are two common methods of finger painting art. In the first, cover the entire sheet of paper with your chosen colour. Or mix two tints on the paper to form a new colour. Then use the fingers to “draw” the picture, such as a flower. The white paper shows through, making the flower design, with the paint colour providing the background. For the other method, dip fingers in chosen colours. Use the fingers almost as paintbrushes to apply and “draw” with the paints. Papers for Finger Painting Choose from a variety of surfaces and paint products when introducing finger painting to your child. Heavy papers like freezer paper often work the best for finger painting and prevent the paint from soaking through. You can also find paper made specifically for this purpose, which is resilient and nonabsorbent. Try dampening the shiny side of these papers with a wet sponge, first, when using the traditional, thick finger paints. This allows for easier spread. You can also use other types of heavy paper or cardboard. Finger Paints Finger paint is quite thick and often comes in primary colours, which children can mix, right on the paper, to form secondary colours. You can also use tempera paint for finger painting. This is a little thinner but often available in a wider assortment of colours. When using finger paints with kids, be sure to choose non-toxic products. And check for egg-free bases, for kids with egg allergies. Finger Painting with Water To avoid a mess, especially for the very young, let them finger paint with water. Have a container of room temperature water handy for dipping fingers. Water shows up well on large sheets of black or dark brown construction paper. Also try clean, dark green or black slates/chalkboards. Children see the designs made with their fingers until the water dries. Then they can start all over again! 5 Simple Finger Paint Recipes Make the following paints at home. With the non-cook recipes, your children can even help with this stage of the process. 1. Cooked Finger Paint Ingredients: cornstarch poster or acrylic paints water oil of spearmint, wintergreen, or clove (optional) Mix 45 grams (3 tablespoons) of cornstarch with 40 ml (3 tablespoons) of cold water in a small saucepan. Stir to make a smooth paste. Add 250 ml (1 cup) of boiling water. Stir quickly so lumps do not form. Stir until it thickens and looks translucent. If needed, cook over low to medium heat. Mix in 60 ml (1/4 cup) of cold water and scented oil if you are using some. These can help to preserve the paints, and they smell pleasant. Cover so the mixture is air-tight to cool. You can add colours to the liquid starch a few drops at a time right on the finger paint paper or in separate containers, one for each colour you want to make. 2. Non-Cook Finger Paint Ingredients: white flour cold water tempera paint or food colouring Using a whisk, slowly mix 240 grams (2 cups) of white flour into 474 ml (2 cups) of cold water in a bowl. Divide into separate containers and add colours. Optional: For a more textured finger paint, add some sand or salt, first, to the flour. 3. Sticky & Shiny Finger Paint Ingredients: corn syrup food colouring Mix individual portions of corn syrup with chosen colours. Store in small zip bags or in air-tight containers. This paint works well on heavy freezer paper. When the pictures have dried, they look very shiny! 4. Edible Finger Paint with Yogurt Ingredients for each colour: Plain yoghurt (1/2 carton) flavoured gelatin powder (1/2 package) Mix ingredients in a bowl. Paint on paper plates or waxed paper. 5. Edible Whipped Cream Finger Paint Ingredients: container of prepared whipped cream dessert topping food colouring Mix a drop or two of colour into portions of the whipped cream. Paint on paper plates or thick paper. NOTE: The “edible” recipes are not meant to serve as a full snack. The benefit is that your children can safely sample for a taste. Cleaning, Drying and Displaying the Finger Paintings What happens after the paintings are complete? Consider the following options for cleanup and display. Cleanup Many finger paints, purchased or made at home, contain colours that may stain. From little fingers, these eventually wash away. Tip: use hand-washing songs to help teach kids to do this properly. Clothing may be a different story, depending on how soon the article is washed. Use aprons, paint smocks or old adult shirts for cover-ups. Protect tables and floors with newspapers, vinyl tablecloths or inexpensive vinyl shower curtains. Throw them away or wipe them down when you are finished. A few drops of liquid dish detergent added to paints before use makes cleanup even easier. Project objectives: Meet children of primary preschool age with non-traditional ways of drawing, develop an interest in visual arts. Promote mastering preschoolers with the simplest technical methods of working with various visual materials. encourage pupils independently apply non-traditional drawing techniques (drawing fingers and palm, drawing with an imprint of potatoes, etc.). promote familiarizing parents with non-traditional drawing techniques; stimulate them co-creation with children. Molds project implementation: Forms of work with children: creating a game situation, pronunciation of the sequence of work, observations, conversations with consideration pictures, reading fiction, organized activities.
