“Good experience!”
“Good experience, although one week”
Thousands of students come to California each year to study English, but very few discover the authentic experience. The California Academy of Languages was founded on the idea that language is alive. It must be experienced in order to be fully appreciated and understood. We believe that language learning is achieved through hands-on, real-world practice.
At California Academy of Languages, we strive to get to know every person that walks through our doors and go out of our way to create a warm and personalized classroom experience. That’s what makes us different! Students may also enjoy participating in extracurricular activities so they can continue to learn and apply their skills.
We are an intimate, student-centered, ACCET-accredited, SEVP-approved language school with two locations in Southern California. The surrounding area is home to great neighborhoods and we make sure to select only the most caring families to ensure every student is fully immersed in life and benefits from an authentic community.
We look forward to personally welcoming you to our fun and unique California Language Academy family!

“My experience was informative and so much fun!”
“I really recommend this school. Nice experience!”
Since its creation in 2008, AELS has made every effort to find the most effective educational methods with the goal of teaching local American English. As a result of these efforts, AELS has developed an educational system that incorporates its own educational philosophy.
The differentiated education system that AELS offers is based on effective and diverse educational content developed in-house with careful supervision of academic achievement, immediate academic performance feedback, in-depth local culture/life experience activities, quality education, and teaching management to maintain passionate and friendly class sessions.
The goal is to maximize the development of practical conversational English skills in a short period of time by way of a small number of class members taught by 100% native speakers. AELS has refrained from the existing language school system in order to improve the students’ effective conversational skills. We are also centered on maintaining an average of 5-6 students in each class and a maximum of 8 students in each class. This is because conversation-oriented classes that require active participation and provide immediate feedback from English teachers can maximize learning efficiency. In addition, the affordable tuition at AELS provides a reasonable and economical choice for students, as compared to other academic institutions operating classes of medium and large sizes.
AELS has a proven ESL program that has earned accreditation from the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA), a professional certification agency for English education in the United States.
Brea is a great place to study as well as to experience the warm, mild climate and the lifestyle of Southern California. You can enjoy the beautiful, high-income neighborhoods and the crime-free nature of the city. There are also a variety of local attractions, including Disneyland and the nearby city of Los Angeles.
For valuable, efficient, and exciting US language training, AELS will be the best option. We are ready to help you with all aspects of your English language program, from the language school application and F-1 visa acquisition to navigating local life. If you have any plans to study English now or in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us.
—Starting Dates: 1st Monday of Every Month
Students may start classes on the 1st Monday of any month; however, to officially earn credit towards completion of a level, a student must enroll in the entire quarter (12 weeks).

Her talisman is the Knight, but they are sometimes spoken of with humor. like the Downey Ducks. [ need quote ] The school currently has about 2,000 students from grades 9 to 12.
Film American Graffiti , written and directed by Downey alumnus George Lucas, based in Modesto but filmed in Petaluma, California. The school the students attend in the film is called “Dewey School”, but is actually Petaluma High School, the architectural twin of Downey High. “Dewey School” is a reference to Downey. The “D” block blazers and school colors in the film are royal blue and white, identical to Downey’s school colors.
Downey’s Yearbook and Newspaper were awarded.
The Department of Agriculture at Thomas Downey was first established to handle the school’s early gardens. The gardens have since been cut down and the pulpit has become the main welding site for TDHS students. Students with good welding skills participate in competitions at the National FFA organization. If students win competitions, they have a chance to be recognized by leaders in the welding industry. Companies include West-Mark, Caterpillar and others. Students also breed animals for the Stanislaus County Fair, hoping to make a profit. Projects are 3 to 7 months long and focus on gardening, animals and home improvement. Students also have the opportunity to attend flower design classes in which students design and sell arrangements.
The school has designated dressing days for the fall and winter homecoming weeks, unity weeks and red ribbon weeks. At the beginning of each year, there is usually a big rally for the fall homecoming, where dance performances are held and homecoming candidates play games that should be somewhat awkward, but all good fun for the Homecoming Week spirit.

Downey has five choirs: the Concert Choir (Mixed Ensemble), Madrigals (Advanced Mixed Ensemble), Knightengales (Advanced Women’s Ensemble), Knights (Men’s Ensemble), and Gloriana (Emerging Women’s Ensemble). The choirs usually perform three concerts a year: “Knight Magic” in the fall, a gala concert in the winter, and a spring concert in the spring. They also perform in various venues throughout the year and especially during the holiday season. The choirs also go on an annual choir tour to Southern California in the spring.
Band
For years, Downey High had one of the most prominent band programs in the far western United States. It all started under band director and composer Roger Nixon, who later moved to Modesto College and then to San Francisco State University. He composed the music for Modesto’s bicentennial in 1970, which was performed by the MJC Concert Orchestra under the direction of Dr. Jensen. Ken Farrell built on this foundation a truly excellent band program. K 19In ’74, Downey’s band achieved twenty consecutive team appearances (above first place) at various concert band festivals in California. The concert band recorded the record every spring for many years. Mr. Farrell wrote the school anthem and fight song, and arranged and composed music for concert and marching bands. The marching band and pep band were also very good, and Mr. Farrell created a unique tradition of appointing directors of student pep bands to rehearse the band and buy music to perform, starting with Dave (Fowler) Johnson at 1969 year.
A full orchestra performed at every home football game, and each game played a separate show during halftime, consisting of several songs with a different arrangement for each song. Mr. Ferrell’s bands expected and achieved perfection. Daily group training for several hours began in the fall 6 weeks before the start of school. Each year, so many Downey band students qualified for the California State Honorary Band that a quota of eleven members was established. The instrumentalists were critical of the success of the annual musical performances and the school orchestra. Several professional and semi-professional musicians have graduated from this program, including Gary Coates, Ken Nelson, Tony Clemens, Doug Ruby, Joyce Maley, Scott Ferrell, and Dave (Fowler) Johnson, who have attended since the mid-1960s to early 1970s. Dave (Fowler) Johnson and Wade Munsey are also piano technicians. In 2008, the Downey Concert and the Marching Band performed at the Olympic Games in Beijing, China.

How Robert Downey Jr spends his millions
Avengers finale breaks weekend box office record. No film has been so successful since 2002. The franchise brought the actors involved in the film, multimillion-dollar fees. In the first part of The Avengers, Tony Stark describes himself to Captain America as follows: “Genius. Philanthropist. Playboy. Billionaire”. The actor himself, in general, is not too different in description from the character. Yes, while he is not yet a billionaire, but it is difficult to call his income modest. To date, the capital of the star is estimated at 300 million dollars.

The path to success
Robert Downey Jr. is the son of director Robert Downey Sr. His acting career cannot be called swift: before becoming a star, Robert tried for a long time and unsuccessfully to achieve popularity in New York. For this purpose, he left school at the age of 16. However, success was in no hurry to come, and the young Downey had to get a job as a waiter in a restaurant to make ends meet.
His initial fees were relatively small: for the first “Iron Man”, for example, Robert received only 500 000 dollars. Total – because this amount cannot be compared with those received for other franchises. For comparison – for the first “Avengers” Downey received 29 million dollars, 22 million dollars – for “Iron Man-3” and 25 million dollars – for “The Avengers. Age of Ultron”, 10 million 250 thousand dollars for The Avengers. Infinity War” and 18 million 750 thousand dollars for “Confrontation”. Starring in these and other Marvel films, the actor earned $90,696,200, million.
Cars
Like Tony Stark, Downey Jr. owns a collection of cars. If you are a fan of his work, then you probably know that Robert drives a Shelby Cobra, Bugatti Veyron Supersport and a whole line of Audi, all thanks to his collaboration with Marvel.
As for the collection of Downey Jr. himself, it is no less impressive: here is the Ferrari California T for $202,723, and the Corvette Stingray of 1967 for $90,000, and the Ford -150 for $23,678, and the Bentley Continantel GT for $173,000 and $80,000 Boss Mustang and $150,000 Mercedes-Benz Pagoda and $150,000 Audi A8 and $100,000 Mercedes-Benz G-Class and $30,000 Volkswagen GTA.
Property
Most likely, Robert Downey Jr.’s car collection is distributed between two of his luxurious houses.
The Downey couple have a flair for good design. In 2017, Robert and his wife Susan purchased a house in Malibu for $90,696 3.8 90,697 million. The 314 square meter house has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and luxurious ocean views from most of the rooms in the house. The mansion features marble countertops, from the bar counters to the coffee table in the spacious living room.
In the Hamptons, on the opposite side of America, there is another home of Downey Jr. The most interesting thing is that it was built inside an old mill. The 4-acre home includes a handmade ceramic fireplace, a 15-meter swimming pool, a tennis court, and a 5-meter statue on the front lawn depicting a hunting praying mantis. This acquisition cost the actor 10.5 million dollars.
Works of art
Like Iron Man , Downey Jr. is a connoisseur of contemporary art. Painting Bird and French Fries by artist Pasco The Great decorates his living room. The painting is valued at $14,444. Also in his collection is a painting by the artist Ati Sedgwick. Downey Jr. bought her for $6,900.
Designer clothing and brand shoes
Robert Downey Jr. has good taste and prefers to dress with famous designers. At the premiere Avengers: Endgame he appeared in a black metallic Givenchi double-breasted fitted jacquard suit for $ $2,850,. And even to much less significant events, the actor comes in designer clothes, or at least with an original accessory.
For example, in 2017, he appeared in public in regular jeans and a T-shirt, but with a bag from “Duffle” worth 1 330 dollars. Another time, Robert showed up in a jacket and trousers from the Etro brand. The cost of trousers alone is 750 dollars, jacket – 1 930 dollars.
The Iron Man shoe collection is also impressive. He is a fan of the Tod’s brand. Quite often, the chosen look is complemented by classic black suede lace-up boots for $90,696,550,90,697. Sometimes Robert appears in public in high-trimmed crocodile-effect boots – from Giuseppe Zanotti, for $90,696,775,.
