Spring ISD is a district very near and dear. I graduated from Westfield High School. I also attended Bammel and Link Elementary. I have run into so many of my former teachers and former classmates that work within the district. It has been a great opportunity to be able to give back to the community that helped raise me up to be the person that I am today. It feels like home.

Geralyn Mosley (Director of Purchasing, Spring ISD)

In the 10 years that I’ve been here I’ve worked in special education, and been a teacher working with kids with special needs. Kids need access to opportunities. And my biggest thing is that–no matter what the child needs–to get them what they need to succeed and all the opportunities that will help them meet their potential.

Paula Mickle (Coordinator, Special Education)

I like to provide support for people, and I enjoy having the ability to take care of things for our employees so that they can focus on the stuff that’s really important. I have children that are in the district. We live here, and I work here. The things that Spring ISD is doing and the way that I have seen our administration invest in things that are really important, like putting students first, that’s important to me as a parent and community member.

Candace Carter (Leaves and Benefits Specialist, HR)

I am a bus attendant in Spring ISD because I have a passion for children. I love what I do. When you’re working, you’re interacting with the children, and you get to know them, you build those relationships. For children with special needs, that consistency is important, because they depend on us to be here. I have children, so I want to make sure I’m treating everybody’s children the way I want my children to be treated when I’m not with them. I try to be who I want my kids to encounter.

US academic year | Smapse

The academic calendar at the universities of the United States of America is divided into several structural units – semesters, trimesters or quarters. Educational institutions themselves determine what type of academic calendar students study, specific dates for the start of studies, and the duration of vacations. Typically, the school year runs from the beginning of September to the end of May, and in the middle of the course, students take midterm exams to assess progress.

Academic year: semester, trimester, quarter

The most common form of division of the academic year in the United States is the division into semesters, although there are universities that divide the academic year into trimesters and quarters.

  • Semesters divide the academic year into two parts, autumn and spring, and last about 15 weeks. The autumn semester runs from August to December, the spring semester runs from January to May.
  • Trimesters divide the academic year into three parts – autumn, winter and spring. The duration of the trimesters is about 10 weeks. Autumn lasts from September to December, winter – from January to March, and spring – from March/April to June.
  • Another option for dividing the academic year into study periods in the US is the division into 2 large and one small trimester: 4+1+4 or 4+4+1.

Some colleges have summer classes that last all summer or last 6-8 weeks. Summer schools / courses are suitable for students who wish to receive additional credits in selected courses or study the discipline additionally, in some cases they help to complete their studies faster, to study courses missed during the regular semester. Similar short intensive courses are sometimes held during the main semesters from autumn to spring.,

Holiday and holiday schedule:

  • Fall break (1st week of October)
  • Thanksgiving (3rd week of November)
  • Christmas break (mid-December – first week of January)
  • Spring break ( beginning of March, week)
  • Summer holidays (mid-May – end of July).

The US educational system offers the student to choose programs and courses within their specialty, except for a few compulsory disciplines. Each course allows you to get a certain number of credits – 3 or 4 (in the case of a project – 5 or 6). When a student receives the required number of credits, he or she may qualify for a degree. In most universities, this parameter is from 30 to 36 credits (usually with a project) for a bachelor’s degree.

The system of credits is convenient in that if you want to change your specialization, university / college, loans received earlier can be taken into account. It must be remembered that the number of credits that can be transferred is limited (specific numbers depend on the college / university department).

Preparation for the start of studies for international students

International students begin preparation for admission and study in advance. Students apply early in order to complete the necessary formalities: Embassies and Consulates may issue a student visa 120 days or less before the registration date of the course of study.

Freshman students enter the US no later than 30 days before the course start/report date. If a student wishes to enter the US early, they must obtain a visit visa. The visitor’s visa will show the intended student’s mark, and the traveler will be required to clearly state their intent to study with the US immigration officer at the port of entry. Before beginning any research, he or she must obtain permission to change visitor status by filing Form I-539Princeton University

At the beginning of the school year, we decided to tell our readers about the features of the programs of all three schools, as well as about what new and interesting things the teachers are preparing for their students.

Bellaire High School

Bellaire High School started the new academic year with a new Russian language program. It’s called the Advanced Placement Program (AP). This program will allow students to earn between 15 and 27 credit hours in Russian, which are credited by all American universities. But happiness is not in credit hours. What is important is that the new program provides knowledge of the Russian language and Russian culture at a really good university level.

The program is fully computerized and students will take tests online. They will have to take the final exam in the spring. It will last four and a half hours and will include a test of knowledge not only in spoken and written Russian, but also in Russian literature, history, music and science. So the students of Bellaire High School have an intense but exciting job.

Bellaire High School was selected as one of 15 schools across America to launch the AP Pilot Course thanks in large part to outstanding Russian teacher Elizabeth McLendon and the success of her students. Elizabeth McLendon was personally involved in the development of this program, which was developed over the course of three years by the American Committee of Teachers of the Russian Language (ACTR) and financially supported by a grant from the American Department of Education.

The merits of Elizabeth McLendon in the field of teaching the Russian language and promoting Russian culture can hardly be overestimated. The space of this short note is not enough to list all her awards. She has been teaching Russian for thirty years, was awarded the title of teacher of the year, was one of the top 100 American teachers, one of the ten most successful women in Houston, and in 1986 was one of fifteen American teachers of the Russian language participating in the international exchange program initiated by at the highest level by Reagan and Gorbachev.

We hope that the success of the AP program at Bellaire will have a positive impact on the expansion of Russian language studies in the United States.

Furr High School

Russian teacher Anna Levina says:

I have been working at Furr High School for the third year. When I got there, they taught French, German, Spanish, Chinese and Russian. A year later, French was reduced, and this year there is no German either – HISD cuts the budget, and first of all, of course, non-core items fly.

With the Russian language, the picture is different – three years ago I started teaching 50 children from the Magnet program (a program for gifted children), and now I have 112 students (both Magnet and ordinary). Moreover, there is not a single Russian-speaking student in our school, not even those whose parents even came from Russia. However, at the Russian Language Olympiad last year, all 14 participants took medals, with 11 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze.

One of my gold medalists has a very dramatic story. Three years ago, Juan Rayez lost his mother in a car accident. And we, I must say, through our Russian school club correspond with the guys from Russia. And Juan established such close, close contact with one of the Russian families from Arzamas that he began to call the Russian woman his Russian mother. One must see how his Russian language has gone up.

We have a Russian club. The history of Russia, its culture (literature, music, ballet), traditions and holidays, Russian cuisine, Russian folk dances are the usual activities of the club. I cannot but say kind words to Shahista Turnley, my predecessor, who organized all this and passed it on to me like a baton. I can’t help but also talk about our wonderful Russian dance teachers Alena Kochurova and Oksana Shevchuk – women who are in love with their work, angelically patient and spare neither effort nor time, even if this time under the contract has already expired.

I would also like to tell you about a wonderful enthusiast and propagandist of the Russian language, Professor of the University of Texas in Austin Tom Garza, with whom our school maintains close friendly relations. In the last academic year, he organized an amazing holiday for all students of the Russian language – Russian Day. The university at its own expense invited us to Austin, where Tom’s students in the halls of the university arranged an excellent exposition with stands about Russia (in various directions – from the history of national minorities in Russia to the Mothers Against War society), another section introduced Russian kitchen (and what was not there!), and the third section, the play area, was cut into towns. Then there was a concert with Russian folk songs a cappella and dances (here we also showed our skills), and the day ended with a performance by Evgeny Schwartz “An Ordinary Miracle” – completely, without a single cut, played in Russian by the same students. It was so great that this year we want to arrange such a holiday at our school.

Lamar High School

Russian teacher Sofia Gutman answers our questions.

– What is the structure of the Russian language program at Lamar High School?

– In our school, Russian is taught at four levels, from grades 9 to 12. We have the Russian language as part of the Magnet program. Language taught in IB (International Baccalaureate)

– What is the International Baccalaureate Program and what benefits does it offer students?

– After graduating from the International Baccalaureate program and successfully passing the exams, a graduate of the American High School gets the opportunity to apply and be enrolled in higher education institutions around the world. The fact is that a mere diploma of an American High School in Europe, for example, is not recognized.

– Does your school offer Russian language courses only to Magnet Program students?

– Yes. Unlike Bellaire High School, in which the Magnet Program is aimed specifically at studying foreign languages (after all, it is called the Bellaire Foreign Languages Academy), in our school the Magnet Program is focused on studying business, where foreign languages are one of the important components of the program.

– What aspects do you focus on in teaching the Russian language?

– You see, since there is no single Russian language program in Texas, each teacher develops his own program on his own. I try to teach, basically, the spoken language, remove psychological barriers, “untie the language”. In my opinion, this is the most important and the most difficult thing in learning a foreign language. Although, of course, we all focus on the program of the Russian Language Olympiad.

– At the last Olympiad, this spring, your students won the main prize – a trip to Russia.

– Yes. They were Sofia Mnjoyan and Megan Wilson. Sofia Mnjoyan took the main prize in the “Heritage” contest. This competition is designed for children permanently residing in America, but for whom Russian remains their native language, the so-called “first language”. Megan Wilson, as you know, is an American. For her, Russian is really a foreign language. The girls went to Russia this summer, traveled around the Golden Ring and got a lot of new impressions.

Old Bridge – Guide to Bosnia and Herzegovina

No comments for Stary MostMostar, Bridges, UNESCO Elena Arsenievich

Once the Old Bridge was called the New Bridge, and this continued for the first hundred years. Officially at that time it was called the Suleiman Bridge, because it was built by order of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. As time went on, the adjective “new” did not really fit the century-old building, they began to call it the Big Bridge, and when other bridges appeared over the Neretva, the name Old Bridge appeared. nine0007

For Mostar, the Old Bridge is the meaning, symbol and core of city life. The city began from here, from these two points on the banks of the Neretva, between which it was required to draw a straight line.

Best views

From the south the bridge is best viewed from the mouth of the river Radoboli. Also a good view from the Luchsky bridge.
From the northeast side, an excellent view opens from the mosque of Koski Mehmed Pasha. Unfortunately, you will have to pay for the pleasure of making good shots – you can go to the observation deck only with a ticket to the mosque (6 KM, about 3 euros). nine0017 No worse than the terrace of the Teatar restaurant (theater) on the right bank of the river, it can be reached from Tabkhana. Here you can enjoy the views with a cup of coffee.

Old Bridge in Mostar Bridge and coffee

Background

Towers first appeared – a century before the Old Bridge, in the middle of the 15th century. Between them they stretched that very straight line – a rope for a ferry crossing. The ferry on the wayward Neretva was a risky undertaking, the bridge was urgently needed.

But the stone bridge was still far away. The first bridge between the towers was suspended, made of wooden boards and iron chains. It swayed from so that the travelers died from fear. But for travelers – what is it, an accidental attraction on a long journey, but the residents of Mostar had a hard time. The city developed evenly on both sides of the river, business required the presence both there and there, several times a day – the most severe stress, no health would be enough. nine0007 Old bridge in Mostar

In addition, the bridge was dilapidated, and using it became not only scary, but also really dangerous. Mostarians sent a request for a new bridge to Sultan Suleiman.

At that time, Mostar had long been one of the cities of the Ottoman Empire. And an empire cannot function successfully without good roads and, accordingly, bridges. With the arrival of the Turks in Bosnia and Herzegovina, several dozen bridges were built in a short period. Two of them are included in the list of world cultural heritage, and several more are monuments of national importance. nine0007 The slope is serious, the surface is slippery, steps-ribs are indispensable

Plumbing

Mostar stands on the full-flowing Neretva River, but its banks are high and rocky, try to apply water for household needs, not to mention gardens and orchards. In the right-bank part of Mostar, the clean river Radobol flows, which solved the problems of water supply in this part of the city. In the 16th century, the left bank was also supplied with water from Radobol. The water pipeline passed over the bridge, and the famous traveler Evliya Chelebia, surprised by what he saw, wrote: “This is a bridge over which and under which water flows. ” nine0007

Construction

But we digress. Sultan Suleiman granted the request of the Mostar people and sent to Mostar a young architect Khairuddin, a student of the famous Sinan. Hadji Mehmed-beg Karadzhoz was appointed the organizer of the work on the part of the local authorities (he was also responsible for the construction of the most majestic of Mostar mosques).

Work began in 1557 and was completed in 1566. It took Khairuddin nine years to solve an extremely non-trivial engineering problem. nine0007 Old Bridge in Mostar

Classical bridge building technology of that time – a few strong pillars on which no less powerful vaults rest. But it was impossible to install a bridge support in the deep, impetuous and prone to destructive floods of the Neretva. It remained to lean on the rocky shores, but in this case the distance between the supports was almost thirty meters, no one had built arches of this size before Khairuddin.

Admiration

Once upon a time, a sign was built into the bridge with the text: “This bridge is like a rainbow vault; Is there anyone like him in this world, my God!” nine0007 Old bridge and Halebija tower, view from the south

Structure

All the technical details of the construction of the Mostar bridge have not yet been clarified. For example, how were the scaffoldings set up for it? How have these scaffolds withstood years of construction?

But the main constructive aspects are already known to the researchers. First, a set of 111 rows of stone blocks was laid out. The blocks were connected with iron wedges. Further, stiffening ribs were made on the vault – in the center and on the sides. After that, the outer walls were erected, covered with crushed stone to the desired height, and paved on top. nine0007 Old Bridge in Mostar

The parapet of the bridge is rather low, in those days the concept of safety was not very strict, the architect took advantage of this to get the silhouette as thin as possible. At first, the Mostar people did not even dare to step on the bridge, it seemed so thin and fragile to them. Urban legends say that Khairuddin spent three days and three nights under the bridge as proof of its reliability.

View of Tara from the Old Bridge

Iron fence

There is no historical information about when and by whom the iron fence was installed on the bridge. The people created a legend about this fence.
Among the Mostar boys, it was considered a special courage to walk along the parapet of the Old Bridge from one side to the other. One careless step – and the daredevil flies into the water. If he can swim, maybe he will get out of the Neretvan rapids. But not everyone was lucky.
One young apprentice was bringing lunch to his master from a tavern on the other side of the river. It was boring on the bridge, I climbed the fence, took a few steps, outweighed the pot with dinner … I didn’t swim out. And he was his mother’s only son. The inconsolable mother sold everything that was in her house, and ordered the bridge’s iron fence from the Mostar blacksmiths, so that even in her thoughts it was not possible to walk along the parapet. Therefore, the bars go around the parapet on both sides. nine0007

From the top of the bridge to the bottom, a height difference of three meters is a very significant slope. I don’t know how people moved along the bridge in the old days, but during the reconstruction, transverse ribs were added throughout the entire canvas, without them it would not have been a bridge, but an attraction for the delight of tourists of all ages. Well, it’s very slippery.

We would very much like to tell not only about the construction of the bridge, but also about its future life – after all, it stood in the center of Mostar for more than four centuries, it had to see a lot. But, contrary to our expectations, information about any special events on the bridge and near it has not been preserved, so, ordinary everyday city life, of course, with its dramas, but not of the scale to be recorded by historians. nine0007 Old bridge and seals

Destruction and restoration

The real drama, or rather, tragedy in the life of the bridge played out in the last decade of the 20th century. In the military conflict of the nineties, the bridge was repeatedly shelled until the vault collapsed into the water. It happened on November 9, 1993.

Already in 1997, two years after the end of the war, they began to think about the restoration of the bridge. The fragments were removed from the Neretva and laid out on a plateau on the shore. At first, there was an idea to use the original material of the bridge for construction, but the blocks were significantly damaged, and besides, there were not enough of them, the idea had to be abandoned. nine0007

For months, specialists measured each block in order to make an exact copy of it. The stone for the bridge was quarried, if possible, from the same quarries as in the 16th century. Where possible, ancient technologies and manual stone processing were used.

In the spring of 2004, the bridge was completed, and on June 23 of the same year it was inaugurated. In 2005, the bridge and the architectural complex adjacent to it were taken under the protection of UNESCO.

In 1958, Bank of America launched BankAmericard, the first consumer-based credit card program. As cashless spending became popular, BankAmericard grew before officially becoming Visa in 1976 and forming a global corporation in 2007. The company is currently headquartered in San Francisco, California and has more than 20,000 employees worldwide.

So, what exactly is Visa? According to the company, Visa is a world leader in digital payments that aims to be a “force of good that advances inclusive, sustainable, and equitable growth for individuals, communities, and economies around the world.” The company hopes to remove barriers and give everyone the chance to connect to the global economy.

Working in the United States

Many noncitizens want to come to the United States to work. This page provides a summary of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa classifications and other categories of noncitizens who are eligible for employment authorization. Each classification provides a link to more detailed information on its requirements.

A common way to work temporarily in the United States as a nonimmigrant is for a prospective employer to file a petition with USCIS on your behalf. The Temporary (Nonimmigrant) Workers webpage describes the main nonimmigrant temporary worker classifications.

If you have the right combination of skills, education, and/or work experience, you may be able to live and work permanently in the United States by seeking an employment-based immigrant visa. The Permanent Workers webpage describes the five employment-based immigrant visa preferences (also called categories).

If you live outside the United States and want to work here, you generally must apply for a visa from the U.S. Department of State (DOS), unless a visa is not required for people from your country of nationality. You may visit DOS’ Travel Without a Visa page for more information.

In many cases, USCIS must approve your petition before you are eligible to apply to DOS for a visa or seek admission at a port of entry. Before entering the United States, you must present yourself to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer and receive permission to enter the United States and engage in your proposed activity.

If you are in the United States in a lawful nonimmigrant status that does not provide employment authorization, you generally may apply for:

  • A change of status to a nonimmigrant classification that provides employment authorization; or
  • An adjustment of status to become a lawful permanent resident. This may be a concurrent filing with an immigrant visa petition or, depending on the circumstances, may require an applicant to obtain an approved immigrant visa before applying for an adjustment of status to become a lawful permanent resident.

Depending on the classification you seek, your change or adjustment of status application might require a U. S. employer or other qualified requestor to file an application or petition on your behalf to establish your eligibility before we approve your application. However, if you apply based on certain classifications (for example, an alien with extraordinary ability or as a nonimmigrant E-1 or E-2 principal treaty trader or investor), you may be eligible to self-petition, which means filing an application on your own behalf.

Additionally, if you are in the United States, including if you are an applicant for permanent residence or a certain family member of an alien who has lawful nonimmigrant status, you may file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, to request employment authorization and an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). You may also apply for an EAD that shows such authorization if your immigration status authorizes you to work in the United States without restrictions.

The conditions you must meet and how long you can work in the United States depend on the type of immigration status the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) grants. You must comply with all conditions of your employment authorization and the terms of your admission to this country. If you violate any of the conditions, you could be removed from or denied re-entry into the United States.

The procedure for hiring foreign citizens

When an employer employs a visa foreigner, he needs to take into account that the obligation to draw up all documents for a foreigner lies with the employer. And among these documents is not only a work visa.

To complete all documents quickly and the first time, it is important to have a clear action plan.

  1. Accreditation in the Ministry of Internal Affairs

First, the employer needs to be accredited by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. My colleague wrote about obtaining accreditation in the article “When accreditation is needed in the Ministry of Internal Affairs”.

  1. Posting a vacancy on the Jobs in Russia website

Together with accreditation, the employer places for a period of at least 30 days on the website “Work in Russia” – a vacancy for which he wants to accept a foreigner. And only if no Russian candidate is suitable for this position, you can proceed to the next step. At the same time, if the candidate is really not suitable, then it is necessary to refuse admission correctly. My colleague wrote more about this in the article “How to correctly refuse candidates.

  1. Obtaining a quota for a profession (if necessary)

If the admission of a foreigner is planned for a quota profession, then the employer must first obtain a quota. In 2022, they draw up a quota for 2023. You can get acquainted with the list of professions for which a quota is not needed in the Order of the Ministry of Labor of Russia dated February 14, 2022 N 58n.

  1. Permit to hire foreign workers

If a quota has been received or not required, the vacancy has been published on the Jobs in Russia platform for more than 30 days, then you can apply for a permit to attract foreign labor – this document allows the employer to accept visa foreigners to work. But only from those countries, for those professions and in the amount indicated in the document. Read about the execution of this document in the article of my colleague “Permission is needed to attract”.

  1. Work invitation and work permit for visa officer

After obtaining permission to attract, you need to issue a work invitation to a foreign citizen:

  • To do this, draw up a letter of guarantee, since the company that invites a visa foreigner to Russia becomes the inviting party and must confirm that it will provide the foreigner with material and medical assistance, as well as control the timely departure of the foreigner from the Russian Federation. Read more about it in the article “Need guarantees”.
  • Prepare an application for an invitation. Its form is approved by the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia dated September 29, 2020 N 677.
  • Provide a notarized translation of the foreign citizen’s passport.
  • Pay the state duty for issuing an invitation.

In many regions, documents for issuing a work invitation and a work permit are submitted simultaneously: first for a work permit, then for an invitation.

  1. After receiving a work invitation

After receiving an invitation in electronic form or on the form of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it must be sent to a foreigner so that he can apply for a visa. Read about the types of invitations in the article “Invitation of a foreign employee”.

  1. Work visa to Russia

Having received an invitation, a foreigner applies to the Russian consulate for a work visa. Documents for obtaining a work visa to Russia:

  • passport,
  • work invitation,
  • health insurance policy. The full list of documents for a work visa to Russia must be clarified at the Russian consulate abroad.
  • confirmation of payment of the consular fee for issuing a visa, the amount of which depends on the country.

The term for issuing a work visa depends on the specific consulate. The visa is issued for a single entry with a validity period of 90 days.

  1. Migration registration after entry

After entering Russia, a foreigner on a work visa must be provided with housing and put on the migration register within 7 working days from the date of entry.

  1. Foreign employee medical board

A foreigner must undergo a medical examination within 30 days from the date of entry and receive its results.

  1. Fingerprint registration of a foreigner

Pass fingerprint registration and photographing, providing the results of the medical examination. The results of these procedures are issued in the form of a fingerprint card with a validity period of 10 years.

  1. Issuance of a work permit

After the submission of documents on the passage of the medical examination, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will issue a work permit to the foreigner.

  1. Proof of Russian language proficiency

Pass an exam on knowledge of the Russian language, culture and fundamentals of legislation. The results of passing the Russian language proficiency test must be submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs within 60 days from the date of entry, otherwise the work permit will be canceled.

  1. Concluding an agreement and notifying the Ministry of Internal Affairs

The employer must notify the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the admission of a foreigner to the company within 3 working days from the date of conclusion of the contract with the foreigner. This must be done in a certain form and correctly filled out, prepared and submitted a notice.

  1. SNILS and TIN for a foreigner

Further, the employer draws up to the foreigner the SNILS and TIN necessary for work.

  1. Extension of work visa for a foreigner

After obtaining a work permit and notifying the Ministry of Internal Affairs about the conclusion of the contract, you need to submit documents for extending a work visa for a foreigner. The renewal period takes 20 working days, so it is better to submit documents immediately. Read more about this process in the article “Extension of a work visa”.

  1. Extension of migration registration

After receiving an extended visa, a foreigner needs to extend the migration registration within 3 working days. This is done by the employer, individual or company that provides the foreigner with accommodation. But the party that invited the foreigner is responsible for ensuring that this is done.

We have listed the main steps for obtaining a visa for an employee in a company. But each of them may have its own nuances, which change depending on the external situation and depend on the company or citizenship of the foreigner. But for the employer, the whole process can be simplified by transferring the complete execution of all documents to migration experts. We specialize in processing documents for visa foreigners and can take care of all the necessary documents for a company and a foreigner. Residency through work | Kiwi Immigration. Change the future today.

There is a special route you can use to obtain a resident visa, bypassing the Skilled Migrant visa option. This plan is called Residence from Work. It allows you to “transform” a work visa into a residence visa within 24 months, if the conditions of your visa allow it. Residence from Work is a good workaround for those who don’t qualify as a Skilled Migrant or can’t score enough points.

There are 3 options that can be used:

  • Job offer from an accredited employer
  • Possess special talent in the arts or sports
  • Employment in a specialty from the Long Term Skills shortage list

All these visas are issued for 30 months. Once you have been on a Work to Residence visa for more than 2 years (provided you meet the other requirements below), you can apply for residency.

If you have high professional skills or are an expert in your field and an accredited employer has offered you a full-time job, this visa is an excellent option for moving.

A list of accredited employers is available on the New Zealand Immigration Service website

Basic requirements:

  • Have an offer from an accredited employer to work full-time (from 30 working hours per week) in New Zealand for a period of at least 24 months
  • The offer must include a minimum base salary of NZ$79,560 (the minimum base salary does not include additional employment-related benefits such as overtime, allowances or lump sums, health insurance, accommodation, etc. )
  • Age restriction up to and including 55 years
  • You must meet the health and personality requirements for Residency
  • You must meet other basic visa requirements

The main benefit of this visa is that your employer DOES NOT have to prove that New Zealand did not have the right person for the job. You also DO NOT have to meet strict education or experience requirements.

If your employer loses accredited status after you have received a work visa, you can:

  • Work for another accredited employer
  • Apply for a variation of conditions that, if approved, would allow you to work for an unaccredited employer. To validate these INZ changes, your new employer must pay you at least NZ$79.560 per year (before taxes).

The

visa offers a pathway to New Zealand residency. To apply, you must have proven work experience, relevant qualifications or professional registration for work in the Long Term Skill Shortage List and an invitation to work in one of these fields. If you continue to work in this field in New Zealand for 2 years, you will be able to apply for residency.

To be eligible for this visa, based on employment in the Long Term Skill Shortage List, the applicant must:

  • Be in possession of an invitation from an employer whose field of activity is on the Long Term Skill Shortage List (LTSSL) at the time of application, and which meets the requirements for this profession; and
  • Have the appropriate education and/or experience to properly perform the job functions requested by the employer (including any specific requirements specified in the LTSSL): and
  • Be aged 55 or under; and
  • Meet the health and personality requirements for Residency
  • Meet other basic visa requirements

Please note that your full time job offer (30+ hours) must be for a period of at least 24 months. This will need to be supported by evidence of full or pre-registration, or eligibility for such registration if full or pre-registration is required by law in order to accept the offer (for example if you are a doctor) or required by applicable New Zealand labor law.

This visa is for people who have outstanding talent in the arts, sports or culture and are looking for a possible path to New Zealand residency. To apply, you will need the support of a New Zealand organization that has been recognized for exemplary work in your area of talent and the support of a sponsor. After actively participating in your field for 2 years in New Zealand, you will be able to apply for residency.

To obtain a work visa for talented people (arts, culture or sports), the applicant must:

  • have outstanding talent in the claimed field of art, culture or sport;
  • have the support of a New Zealand government organization in the area claimed;
  • have a suitable sponsor;
  • be aged 55 years or less;
  • meet the health and personality requirements for Residency;
  • meet other basic visa requirements

Please note that this type of visa is really exceptional and is quite rare in practice.

7 Easy Magic Tricks revealed: Learn These Cool Popular Illusions.

Magic is not Rocket Science. Professional magicians and illusionists will try to create the impression that magic is all about mystical and supernatural powers. The truth of the matter is that magic is all about performance, and tricks. Believe it or not, even the most complex acts you’ve seen out there are all about PERFORMANCE and TRICKS. What this means, therefore, is that anyone can become a magician; even you. You are probably a magic fan or enthusiast, with a burning desire to stand before an audience and see them applause at the end of your rousing performance. Well, it is possible for you to become a distinguished magician, but you will have to start from somewhere. You will have to start with the easy tricks that will give you much-needed experience and usher you into the next phase of professional illusion.

The Table coin trick

This is a classic trick that is very easy to perform. The good thing with the table coin trick is that you don’t need too much equipment to ace it. Just a flat table, a coin, and of course the most important requirement is your audience.

The magic here is when the magician, who is tightly grasping the coin, mysteriously makes it go through the table, just by banging it hard on the table surface. He then grabs the coin on the other side with his other hand before it falls down on the floor. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it’s easy, after countless hours of practice and mastery. Here’s how to master this trick. You will have to really practice your hand speed because the whole trick rests on how fast your hands move the coin from the table. It’s a split-second affair. There are no holes punched on the table, and you don’t need long sleeves where you can hide the coin. It’s just a matter of how fast one hand gets the coin to the other. Like with most tricks, you will have to find a distraction for your audience. A good distraction that will shift their attention, enabling you to slide the coin from the table. Another important aspect of this trick is the performance. You will have to act like you are holding the coin, and banging it on the table. Here’s how it works. Ask an audience member to verify if the coin is real. Once the audience member gives the coin back, pretend like you want to get a good hold of the coin so as to begin the magic.

Drag the coin of the edge of the table with your fingers and your thumb in a slanting position. Make sure your other hand is in a position to grab the coin once you drop it. The coin should never drop to the floor. Do not move the recipient hand at all as this may cause some audience members to be suspicious. Once the coin is safely in your other hand, the performance part kicks in. Pretend like you are still holding the coin with the first hand, in the same position like when you picked up the coin from the edge but this time the backside of your hand should face upward, while your fingers should be locked with your thumb as if you are actually holding the coin. The key here is to always ensure the audience will not be suspicious that you actually don’t have a coin in your hand.So make sure you do a good job of concealing that part of your fingers that is supposed to be holding the coin. Let the front side of your fingers face the audience while still maintaining that horizontal position for your hand like you want to bang something on the surface.Next, bang the ‘coin wielding’ palm on the table to give the impression that the ‘coin’ is actually passing through the table. Hit the underside of the table with the coin (which has been on your other hand all along) where the coin is supposed to go through to give an impression like the coin is falling on your other hand.

 The disappearing toothpick or matchstick

You have probably seen someone else perform this trick over and over again. This is a simple magic trick that is just dazzling. And the good thing about it is that it is a very simple and straight forward trick. It can also be done almost anywhere which is another bonus.

The magic works like this; you hold a matchstick or a toothpick between your thumb and index finger, wave your hand around, and the matchstick magically disappears into thin air. Another wave of your hand, and the matchstick appears from out of nowhere. The trick is really simple, and you don’t need to have a sleeve coat or shirt. All you need is some tape or glue. Take the glue and smear sparingly onto the nail side of the thumb which will be used to hold the toothpick. Make sure you attach only the lower side of the stick so that a greater portion of it will appear during the trick. When you want to make the stick disappear, just cause a distraction to the audience, waft your hand around, and straighten all your fingers and thumb to hide the stick. If you want to make it re-appear, fold your thumb in a holding position and make sure the stick is visible. Make sure you hold the stick towards the audience and you can also use saliva if glue is not available. However, saliva will not prove to be an effective sticking agent like glue.

Levitation

If I told you that it really is possible to do this trick, you would brush me aside and tell me that I am getting ahead of my limits. But this is a simple trick, and you will be kicking yourself once you find out how easy it is to get it done. You will need to get yourself to a good spot in the house or premises. A corner in the house is the best place to get this trick done. The most important part of this magic trick is to make sure that the audience is neither in front of you, nor behind you. The most preferable position for your audience to be in is just at the edge of the heel of your shoe. They must also be a couple of meters away from you in a diagonal position.  Another very important aspect is balance. You will need a lot of balance in this trick. In fact, you should probably start practicing on your balance first before attempting anything else.

Here is how to get it done. Get to your designated corner in the house, and make sure the audience is in the right location. It’s pretty easy. Lift your right leg and make sure it does not go up bent. Ensure it is always straight as it goes up. Also, let your hands not hold onto anything when performing the trick. You will find yourself levitating. How? You ask. Well, remember your left leg? Your left leg will perform a critical function to aid the trick. Lift your left leg with your toes, almost like a Ballerina dancer but not up to your tip toe. (But if you can, the better.) Make sure your right leg always conceals your left leg which is not levitating, and make sure it is always straight. It will really look like both of your legs are levitating. You should also ensure that your feet are together always. Also, as your left foot moves up slowly push your right foot downwards so as to further conceal your left foot.Balance is key here, so make sure you practice a lot before attempting this trick.

The floating coffee cup

The floating coffee cup is almost like the disappearing toothpick trick but the difference here is that this magic trick is more realistic than the previous one. It is also simpler than the first which makes it very easy to perform. For starters, you will have to get some coffee cups for the trick. That’s all. This trick will need a lot of performance and creativity as well. Cut a really small hole in the Styrofoam on the side of the coffee cup. This hole should not be too small. It should be large enough to fit your

For starters, you will have to get some coffee cups for the trick. That’s all. This trick will need a lot of performance and creativity as well. Cut a really small hole in the Styrofoam on the side of the coffee cup. This hole should not be too small. It should be large enough to fit your right-hand thumb. Stick your thumb into the Styrofoam discretely. Next, gently lift both of your hands simultaneously before your audience while distracting them with magic sounds and finger waving in a levitating motion. Try to keep the cup in the middle of both of your hands for a better illusion. It will really look like the cup is floating.

Flowing water becomes ice

This would be a really useful and cool magic trick especially during the hot summers when all your friends just want to stay cool. This trick is more scientific than it is magic. You will be surprised at how easy it is to wow your friends with this one. You will need some purified bottled water that you can easily access at your local store. Make sure the water is purified, and for the trick to work efficiently, it has to be in a bottle. Also, don’t just purchase one bottle. Get numerous bottles. If you can get a six pack or a dozen, it would be really great. Remember, the more bottles you have, the higher your chances of getting the trick done.

Next, you will have to place the bottles into your freezer at a constant temperature of -24 degrees. You can set the temperature knob to 5 or 7. (Make sure you leave the bottles overnight outside the freezer before putting them in the Freezer. This is to make sure the bottles absorb the room temperature.) After inserting the bottles into the freezer, make sure they lie on their sides, and that the distances between them are equal. Close the freezer door and wait for one and a half hours. Open the door and check if the bottles are frozen. If they are not, quickly shut the door and keep checking after 15 minutes. It usually takes about between 2 hours and 30 minutes to 2 hours and forty five minutes for the first bottle to freeze. Don’t expect the bottle to completely freeze over. It will still be a liquid albeit with flakes of ice floating about. Gently take the bottles out slowly and make sure you have an audience present. Grab a bowl and fill it with some ice. Now open your bottle and pour out the water onto the ice. You will immediately notice that the water will freeze upon contact with the flakes creating unique cone flakes that you can give your friends. The best way to ensure success with this trick is to make sure you get the temperatures right. Over freezing or under freezing might result in the trick not working, so make sure you get the temperature just right.

Gravity defying ring

This extremely simple trick attempts defy the laws of gravity by enabling a ring, to go in an upward direction without being pushed. It is a very unique magic trick because you only need basic objects to perform it. You will need a rubber band string and a ring. Pass the rubber band through the ring. Hold both sides of the rubber band and stretch. The ring will start going in an upward motion instead of going down as is expected. Your audience will be dazzled.

Magic tricks revealed learn popular illusions: Gravity Defying Pen revelaed

Here is how to get it right as a magician. Make after that after the band is in the ring, you

get a large piece of the band inside your palms. Hold one end of the remaining band with your fingers while also holding the other end. You will notice that when you slowly pull one side of the shortened band, the ring will appear like it’s climbing the band. This is brought about by the stretching nature of the band which drags it upwards. You can distract your audience by constantly staring at the ring as it goes up so that they will think that your mind is controlling the ring.

Easy Magic Trick: Mysterious pencil

This is a mind-blowing trick that will simply leave your audience awed. A simple pencil is driven through a water pack without causing a spill. You will, therefore, need a very sharp pencil, and a pack of water. Preferably in a Ziploc bag.

Magic tricks revealed Learn popular illusions: magic pencil

This is probably the simplest trick in the list. All you have to do is fill the bag ¾ way and drive the pencil into the bag. You will notice that the water won’t spill and the explanation is scientific. Plastic bags like Ziploc bags are polymers which have long bonds and chains. When the pencil enters the polymer, its molecules form a shield around the pencil trapping the water molecules. But this is your secret. No one in the audience has to know about it.

Hopefully, after getting a grasp of this easy tricks you will have the required experience and feel of what it’s like to perform some magic tricks. The plan is for you to get a burning desire and hunger to perform even bigger, and more complex stunts. You are surely on your path to becoming a great magician after mastering these tricks.

Spectacular card tricks for beginners with training

Home » Card tricks »

Let’s consider a few simple and original tricks that always cause excitement and bewilderment in the audience.

Magic Leaf

To perform this trick you will need:

  • cards;
  • table;
  • piece of paper;
  • writing pen;
  • viewers.

The essence of the trick: you shuffle the deck in any way you like. Then write the name of two pictures on a piece of paper, but do not show it to the audience yet. Insert the sheet in the middle of the deck. Scroll through it to the sheet in the middle, turn it over and show it to the public, they see what is written. Then insert the sheet back, lay out the deck with tape and open one image on each side of the sheet in the middle. These are the exact cards you wrote.

Focus Mechanism: When shuffling, look at the top and bottom cards in the deck. Write them down on paper. Then insert the sheet in the middle and start flipping through the pack to it. When you reach it, grab it with the cards in your hand and turn it over. So the viewer will see what is written on paper, and you put the sheet on top of the deck (you already know the top picture).

Then we put the second half of the pack on a sheet, and it turns out that it is sandwiched between two cards known to us. Now, with a beautiful ribbon, we stretch the deck with a leaf in the middle and turn the images next to it. Everyone is surprised and applauds, and you mentally congratulate yourself on your success.

This is important! Use a shuffle where you peek at the cards from above and below unnoticed!

To perform such tricks with cards you will need special. cards with special coated. You can order these here

Reversed card

The trick belongs to the category of card tricks for beginners, so it does not require complicated preparation.

Essence: the viewer chooses any picture from the deck, remembers it and puts it back in any place. The magician begins to sort through the cards one by one from the deck and it is the picture chosen by the viewer that turns out to be turned upside down against the background of the rest of the cards lying upside down.

Mechanism: before you let the viewer choose a picture, you need to turn the bottom piece of the pack discreetly. You can do it in advance. While the person is making his choice, you turn over the deck and have him insert his card. After that, turn the deck over again and start scrolling. The viewer’s choice will be reversed. The trick is very simple and does not require too complex manipulations.

This is important! All deck flips in this trick must be performed instantly and imperceptibly, this is 90% success.

I know what your card is

Another cool trick that can cause a flurry of emotions in the public. And at the same time, it is quite simple to perform.

The essence: the audience chooses any 2 cards from their deck and then you put it inside the pack. Invite the audience to shuffle the deck as many times as they want. Then you take the pack in your hands and say: “I know what your cards are” and the exact hit. The audience is in shock, you are in the glory.

Surprise for real!!! Cards and props for every taste in the largest store of magic tricks and cards.

cards with special coated. You can order these here

You will learn three more good tricks that you can use to start your magical career.

This is important! Remember that any trick requires training in advance. Never perform a badly practiced trick, as it is impossible to restore the reputation of a good wizard!

How Much Does Chick-fil-A Pay?

It goes without saying that anywhere in North America, when you think about a chicken sandwich, Chick-fil-A is one of the first things that comes to mind. With a revenue of $11.3 billion and almost 2,800 franchises, this fast-food conglomerate employs as many as 140,000 people. With such workplace capacities, it’s no wonder that Chick-fil-A is constantly looking for new talent.

Still, to review whether their offer is genuinely appealing, a few questions need to be answered:

  • How much does Chick-fil-A pay its employees?
  • How is this affected by the state and position?
  • What benefits can Chick-fil-A employees expect?

Let’s try to find the answers!

What Is the Average Pay at Chick-fil-A in 2022?

Chick-fil-A pays an average of $12.92 per hour for a team member’s position. We singled it out because it’s an entry-level position and the place where most no-experience employees will start at.

Still, the average or even median is often misleading. When looking for your income at Chick-fil-A, you should probably do state-specific research, look into salaries for other positions (growth opportunities), and more.

Moreover, this is merely a gross and not net income. Therefore, you might also want to consult a take-home pay calculator.

How much does Chick-fil-A pay an hour?

On average, Chick-fil-A pays $12.92 per hour for a team member’s position. This is one of the first jobs you’ll get in this field, regardless of the company. Other entry-level positions are restaurant staff ($12.58 per hour), kitchen team member ($13.73), or back-of-the-house team member ($13.48). As you can see, it’s all in a similar ballpark.

An hourly rate is usually how you calculate the Chick-fil-A pay, to begin with. You just multiply it by the number of hours you’ve worked, and you get your gross income. So, your weekly, monthly, and annual income depend on both the hourly wage and the number of working hours.

Now, full-time employees work 40 hours per week or more. Your unadjusted pay is the figure based on the presumption that your year has 52 weeks and 260 weekdays (which is almost never the case). This is the equation that we’ll stick to in our subsequent calculation.

Also, keep in mind that most people take a certain number of vacation days per year, and there are quite a few holidays. When you consider these, the result will be your adjusted pay. Multiplying your Chick-fil-A pay per hour with this “adjusted” number of days will give you a more accurate estimate.

Let’s say you take 10 holidays per year and 15 vacation days. Following this principle, your daily unadjusted pay at Chick-fil-A will come down to $103.36 for a team member’s position. Your adjusted pay, on the other hand, would be close to $93 per day.

How much does Chick-fil-A pay a week?

Weekly, your unadjusted pay at Chick-fil-A will be $517. And your adjusted salary will be closer to $467. As you can see, the difference is roughly 9-10%. Once again, we must stress that this is not your take-home pay. You still have taxes to pay.

Another important thing to consider when calculating your Chick-fil-A salary is how the company pays. While this is up to individual franchises to decide, the company usually pays bi-weekly (every second Thursday). This is a slight deviation from the rest of the fast-food industry, where most companies (like McDonald’s or Subway) pay every second Friday.

Your bi-weekly unadjusted income at Chick-fil-A will come down to $1,034, while your adjusted pay will be $934.

It’s also important to mention that the franchise you’re at may decide to pay semi-monthly. This means that they’ll pay on the 15th and 30th (or on the first subsequent workday). Due to the discrepancy in the number of workdays, your semi-monthly unadjusted pay will be $1,120, while your adjusted salary will come down to $1,012. As you can see, the pay is similar to the bi-weekly but not quite the same.

How much does Chick-fil-A pay a month?

As a team member, you’ll get paid $2,239 unadjusted and $2,024 of adjusted pay per month. Just remember that outside of your regular calculations, what you’re currently dealing with is your gross monthly income. This means that you have some more calculations to do to get the sum you’ll have at your disposal.

The simplest way to handle this would be to find yourself a reliable take-home pay calculator. Then, you just need to fill in all your state-specific and required personal parameters. From that point on, the rest of the process is mostly automated.

How much does Chick-fil-A pay a year?

When it comes to the yearly income of someone with Chick-fil-A hourly pay of a team member, you’ll get an average of $26,874 unadjusted and $24,290 adjusted.

Just remember that a year is a far longer period than a week or a month, which means that there are much higher discrepancies. You may have more or fewer workdays, more or fewer overtime hours, etc. Still, this estimate gives you a rough estimate of your total annual income.

How Much Does Chick-fil-A Pay Part-Time?

A part-time worker at Chick-fil-A is someone who works less than 35 hours per week. This would be a daily income of less than $90.44 for the position of a team member.

Nonetheless, some part-time employees work as little as 18 hours per week. In fact, if you have a really bad relationship with your shift manager (they genuinely dislike you), you may sometimes work as little as 10 hours per week.

In other words, this equation has an incredibly high level of customizability.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Work at Chick-fil-A?

Right after asking about Chick-fil-A starting pay, many people want to know about the minimum age of Chick-fil-A employees. It comes down to the state law and the individual rights of employers. Generally speaking, it’s legally acceptable for Chick-fil-A franchises to hire even 14-year-olds.

However, it’s also worth mentioning that many franchises refuse to hire those younger than 16. Second, underage applicants may need a special permit from their parents or guardians, as well as a solved transportation issue.

Lastly, minors may be eligible only for certain positions. They can’t work in any occupations declared hazardous by the Secretary of Labor. These include all jobs involving baking, driving or operating machines, such as meat slicers or commercial mixers.

How much does Chick-fil-A pay 14-year-olds?

When it comes to how much 14-year-olds will get paid per hour, the answer is the same as with everyone else: $12.92 per hour as a team member.

However, there are a couple of restrictions worth taking into consideration.

First, you’re not going to see a 14-year-old as a shift leader or a restaurant manager (even the most talented one). You’re not going to see them as a cook either, seeing as how the kitchen is too risky of a work environment for the minor.

Second, a minor can only work part-time. For someone 16 or younger, the maximum shift duration is four hours per day. This means that there are a lot of minors who work 18 hours per week or less.

In other words, their Chick-fil-A starting wage per hour is the same as everyone else’s. Due to restrictions, they work fewer hours and may be, for the time being, locked out of certain positions.

How Much Does Chick-fil-A Pay per State?

Each franchise conforms to its state’s purchasing power parity, regulations, and tax laws.

How much does Chick-fil-A Pay in Texas?

  • A kitchen team member will make $13.89 per hour. This is roughly $111 per day and $556 per week, unadjusted.
  •  A cook at Chick-fil-A in Texas makes $14.49 for an hour’s work. This comes down to $115 per day and $580 for a week unadjusted.

Interestingly enough, this is slightly higher than how much Taco Bell pays in Texas.

How much does Chick-fil-A Pay in Florida?

Salaries in a Florida-based Chick-fil-A restaurant are slightly lower than the national average. For instance:

  • A team member in Florida makes $12. 38 per hour. This is $99.04 per day and $495 per week (unadjusted).
  • A kitchen team member will earn $12.60 hourly when working in a Florida-based Chick-fil-A. Unadjusted for holidays and vacations, this comes down to $100.80 per day and $504 per week.
  • A prep cook makes $13.37 for an hour’s work. Unadjusted, this is $106.96 daily and $535 weekly.

Of course, when you make it to the management, you get a more significant salary to match. This is why a director of customer services in Florida can earn as much as $43,591 per year.

How Much Does Chick-fil-A Pay per Position?

Perhaps the most important factor worth considering is how a Chick-fil-A average pay is affected by the position that one holds within the franchise/company. For instance:

  • Restaurant staff: Makes $12.58 per hour, which is roughly $26,166 per year.
  • Team member: Makes $12.92 per hour, which is roughly $26,874 per year.
  • Kitchen team member: Makes $13.73 per hour, which is roughly $27,810 per year.
  • Shift leader: Makes $15.88 per hour, which is roughly $33,030 per year.
  • Shift manager: Makes $16.69 per hour, which is roughly $34,715 per year.
  • Kitchen manager: Makes $18.20 per hour, which is roughly $37,856 per year.

Then, you have highly-paid administration roles like senior project lead, which can yield as much as $114,989 per year.

Even here, the discrepancies between the states are significant, so it’s more than worth considering both of these factors before making any conclusions.

Chick-fil-A Employee Benefits

Chick-fil-A wages and benefits are the first two inquiries anyone will make before seeking employment there. So, now that we have the basics regarding the wages out of the way, here are some of the most important benefits worth mentioning.

In terms of insurance, in some franchises, there are:

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance

In terms of leave, there’s some space for improvement. While paid time off is available in some scenarios, there’s no parental leave. Bear in mind, though, that this information is based on reviews and tips submitted by employees and may not be valid for all franchises.

When talking about flexibility, there are a couple of things that we should stress out. Work from home is available only in a couple of scenarios and only in some positions. Flexible schedules, however, are one of the biggest benefits of this industry.

In terms of financial perks that are meant to supplement the Chick-fil-A average salary, employees have access to:

  • Bonus pay
  • Commuter assistance
  • Employee discount
  • Stock options

Two more things that employees often mention as significant benefits are free food and an employee monitoring program.

Lastly, Chick-fil-A offers tuition reimbursement and retirement plan to their employees. Still, it’s worth mentioning that 401k might require you to invest some years in the franchise.

Overall, Chick-fil-A’s benefits are somewhat less impressive than what some industry competitors offer.

Wrap Up

When asking questions like “How much does Chick-fil-A pay?” you can get an easy answer, like $12.92 for an entry-level job of a team member, or you can get a more complex answer. The latter includes counting in the averages of the state that the franchise is in, the number of hours you have per week, overtime, bonuses, and all the potential benefits.

Still, what matters the most is that Chick-fil-A is, in most parameters, comparable to the rest of the industry. Like the other major fast-food franchises, it hires even those without work experience and minors. There’s also quite a bit of room for advancement and lateral movement.

Although the minimum wage at Chick-fil-A is nothing to write home about. Those who manage to make it to management might find it a decent long-term employment option. Otherwise, it’s a great starter job, especially for students.

Teachers told the “Voice of Cherepovets” why many children today have literacy problems and how to deal with it

Parents and grandparents who help children prepare for lessons often complain about the curriculum. Adults do not understand how the material is explained to schoolchildren, and children get confused between home and school explanations. In such cases, tutors are usually called for help.

Reading math more often Year by year, the number of children seeking additional help with their studies is increasing. Some start from the first class, or even earlier. Elena Opoyaskina teaches in elementary grades and also tutors. Sometimes kindergarten children are brought to her to prepare for school. As for those who are already studying, the appeals begin from the first grade. Most often, children need to be pulled up in reading or even taught to read.

— There are often problems with writing. At school, very little time is devoted to the inscription of letters, some children do not have time to master the written letters and continue to use printed ones.

— Are there any difficulties with mathematics?

Rare. With reading – more often than with mathematics, but less often than with the Russian language (with the alphabet – this is the name of the subject in the first grade).

— What, in your opinion, are the difficulties due to which you have to turn to tutors already in the first grade? For example, I often hear complaints from parents about programs: “We just don’t understand how everything is explained to children at school.”

— Yes, there is such a problem. When I was studying, there was one program, they call it traditional. It still exists, but not everyone is involved in it. We have three parallel first grades in our school, and only one is taught according to the traditional program; the rest are doing something else. In principle, children receive the same knowledge, the same result of learning, just the forms, methods and means of lessons are different.

— Speaking of elementary school in general, what are the most common problems?

– With the assimilation of the program. The child may not understand certain tasks from the textbook. I often observe how children read a text, but do not understand what needs to be done, what arithmetic operation to apply.

— Are the tasks formulated in this way or are the children reading poorly?

– Rather the second. Kids don’t read much these days. Let them come to school already able to read and their reading technique is pretty good, but they do not understand the meaning of what they read, because, I repeat, children have now generally stopped reading.

Chain Marina Dedyukova is a college mathematics teacher and tutor with 13 years of experience. Now she mainly works with students in grades 9-11, among them there are those who go to her for two or even three years. Marina Nikolaevna admits that it is easier and more convenient for her to work with guys who need, say, to be dragged from three to four or from two to three. Many of them are afraid that they will not pass the exams at all, so they turn to a tutor to prepare for the OGE or the Unified State Examination.

— Are there topics that students most often stumble over?

— Yes, for example, fractions. They are now being studied from the fifth grade, and if a child misunderstood something from the very beginning, the problem gradually grows like a snowball. Actions with fractions sink for many. I have to explain from the very beginning. For some, it all starts not even with fractions, but with the fact that the multiplication table was not well learned at one time. I always tell the guys: “Math is like a chain: if at least one link falls out, it no longer holds as it should.” Therefore, you should move on to a new topic only after you have thoroughly mastered the previous one. I can give several reasons why they turn to a tutor: it is difficult to develop relationships with a teacher; after a year or two, teachers change, which affects academic performance; the child studies at a school with a certain bias, where it is difficult for him to master the existing program.

Mistakes due to inattention Valentina Gorbacheva , a tutor in Russian language and literature and a teacher at the college, speaks of the main difficulties for schoolchildren:

— The first is the lack of knowledge. The second is that the guys from all sides – both at school and at home – are under pressure in terms of the OGE and the Unified State Examination (“You will not pass anything!”). Usually, after elementary school, in the fifth grade, schoolchildren somehow hold on, from the sixth grade problems begin, because at this age they are not interested in studying, but in completely different things. In the seventh or eighth grade, problems become major. And in the ninth, the guys usually start to come to their senses, because they are simply afraid of exams. There are objectively weak children; It happens that parents, as they say, overdid it. Now tutors are often approached not only by two or three students, but also by good students and even excellent students. Sometimes very smart children come to me, they are just insecure.

— And if we talk about those who really have problems with knowledge, then how do these problems manifest themselves in practice?

– A lot of errors due to inattention. Very. They skip the first letters, do not add the last ones, write prepositions together with nouns. Why all this? Kids just don’t read. A high school student Vanya came to me – just that critical case, when there are just a million errors in a small text, and he did not see them. He knew the rules, but did not put them into practice. I began to quietly slip books to Vanya. I started with the small ones that teenagers usually like – scary stories, fantasy, Edgar Allan Poe, Ray Bradbury (“Thunder Came”). He became interested, then began to read larger works – The Picture of Dorian Gray, for example. Three or four months later he began to ask for books himself. In just six months, he pulled himself up very well in the Russian language.

— Do children often have difficulties precisely because of the school programs themselves, which are incomprehensible?

– I don’t encounter this. But I encounter difficulties that arise due to teaching and even due to the level of knowledge of teachers. Children often come to me (and from different schools) who say that their teacher checks their homework according to the GDZ (“Ready-made homework” – ed.) or that the teacher cannot keep discipline in the lesson, constantly yelling.

Previously (and not to say that a very long time ago) tutors were mainly contacted before exams in the 11th grade or in exceptional cases – when everything is bad, the child has solid deuces and he needs to be taught at least somehow. Now the services of tutors are resorted to almost at every step.

the area of Brooklyn that & #039; right for you

Whether you’re a New Yorker or a longtime resident, finding the best neighborhood to live in Brooklyn is both exciting and challenging. With a more relaxed pace of life than Manhattan, with many parks, more security, and a general sense of calm, Brooklyn is very popular with expats, families, but also young professionals because of its trendy side. With the growth of the attractiveness of this “town”, many microdistricts appeared here. Here’s a quick guide to some of them, French favorites in Brooklyn, according to BARNES – Luxury Real Estate Agency for over 10 years. This will help you find the area that suits you best.

Trendiest Neighborhoods

These neighborhoods in Brooklyn are very attractive to young professionals because of their diversity, dynamism and accessibility. They include a large number of bars, restaurants, museums and art galleries.

Williamsburg

Undoubtedly, the Brooklyn area has experienced the most upheaval in the last 15 years. Williamsburg is Brooklyn’s pioneer neighborhood, showcasing its vitality and real estate value.

Linked to Manhattan by the L line (which will eventually not close after years of doubt), the first stop after the East River is in the heart of Williamsburg. As such, the neighborhood is ideally located and offers a wonderful compromise of comfort, luxury, and proximity to Manhattan, while still retaining the laid-back atmosphere of Brooklyn. It is easy to travel between the two districts by metro, ferry or bicycle. Williamsburg has a rich cultural and artistic heritage with upscale restaurants and art galleries.

The popularity of the area is necessarily accompanied by rising prices. Today it is one of the most expensive areas of New York. However, work in progress on the L line, which could make travel a little more difficult, held back this growth for a while. Jan Russo, Associate Director of Barnes New York, points out that “the announcement of the closure of Line L in 2015 caused real estate prices, both residential and commercial, to fall, and many businesses closed their doors. When two months before the closing scheduled for April 2019year, the governor abandoned this measure, which was so devastating for the area, real estate immediately changed its trend, and now it has become attractive for investment again.

Dumbo

Dumbo, short for “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”, has been very popular for years, both for its proximity to Manhattan and for its view of its skyscrapers. Now one of the hottest neighborhoods, Dumbo has welcomed New Yorkers who have ditched their Soho and Tribeca apartments in favor of lofts, cobbled streets and quiet. A very trendy area with upscale restaurants, it welcomes young workers and families. Many French parents have settled in Dumbo, also because of its kindergarten (The Language and Laughter Studio), which offers lessons in French. The area is also very child-friendly thanks to its many green spaces and other attractions.

The most “family” neighborhoods

Greenery, parks, attractions, good schools… These criteria are very important for French families (and others) in New York. You don’t have to choose between a great family life or bustling New York City, because today these areas of Brooklyn offer the best of both worlds!

Carroll Gardens

A lively neighborhood with a wide selection of shops, restaurants and bars, Carroll Gardens gives Brooklyn a distinct French flavor. It’s also a neighborhood steeped in history that retains its brownstone style with brownstone townhouses, authentic European patisserie shops, and numerous parks and green spaces. These qualities make the area an ideal place to raise children, thanks in part to the many options for learning in French: the private bilingual Brooklyn International School and the public school PS58 Carroll School which offers a French bilingual program. English. If you’re looking for a private garden, this is the best bet, with its brownstone offering, buildings often subdivided into luxury apartments but sometimes maintained as separate houses. Moreover, “the French are largely responsible for the rise in prices of goods located in the PS58 school area,” admits Christophe Bourraud, director of Barnes New York.

Park Slope

By Mikeruggy – Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0

“Park Slope is a neighborhood that families love for a lot of reasons,” says Christophe Bourraud. “It has great schools, real diversity, family friendliness, quality parks… The area is also known for its culture and vitality.

Indeed, many families are leaving Manhattan for a more pleasant life in Park Slope. It is famous for its beautiful brown brick houses 19and 20th centuries, as well as several modern buildings. “Townhouses”, “apartments” and “co-ops” in well-preserved buildings characterize the area well. There is something here for every taste! Although supply is limited and demand for ‘townhouses’ is high, there are many styles and prices for property in Park Slope.

Brooklyn Heights

This quiet and peaceful neighborhood in downtown Brooklyn owes its historic charm to its architecture and key location. It is the most upmarket neighborhood in the “town” with a central location (near downtown Brooklyn), serene residential streets yet close to vibrant and well-connected main streets. Brooklyn Heights has been attracting new buyers for years, mostly young professionals and young couples who want to live close to good schools, live in a residential environment, or simply invest in larger spaces. ..in the long term due to limited inventory and high demand.

Neighborhoods to Watch for Investments

As Brooklyn continues to grow in popularity, other neighborhoods are emerging and developing. Watch it today while prices are affordable…

Greenpoint

At the northern tip of Brooklyn, above Williamsburg, is the charming neighborhood of Greenpoint. Once a bastion of the Polish community, it has retained its industrial appearance from the late 19th century, when factories, glassworks and construction sites were in operation. Greenpoint has taken advantage of these large spaces by modernizing them. Factories and other warehouses have been stylishly converted into modern and luxurious apartments, prompting celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker or Paul Giamatti to move in. Property in the area is very attractive at the moment as prices have not yet peaked in the more central areas and are at a high level. noticeably lower than in Williamsburg. Indeed, Christophe Bourraud confirms that “real estate in Greenpoint has been watched by many investors for many years because the process of gentrification has already begun.”

In addition, there is another French language public school, PS110, The Monitor School. A bohemian yet sophisticated atmosphere, art galleries, trendy bars and restaurants make Greenpoint a great option. “Proximity to Long Island City (LIC), Williamsburg and Manhattan makes it an area with great potential. Amazon’s announcement of a move to Long Island City immediately sent Greenpoint’s prices up. Amazon has changed its mind, but soon other companies will take similar steps,” forecasts Christophe Burro.

Bed Stuy

Bedford Stuyvesant, today’s trendy district, owes its development to the beauty of its lanes and brown town houses. Although real estate prices there have already risen significantly in recent years, buying and renting in Bed Stai is still cheaper than in Manhattan or Dumbo. This pleasant area of Brooklyn enchants visitors with its houses with gardens or buildings no higher than three floors. New York City has declared the Bed Stay Historic District, guarding over 800 buildings! So staying at Bed-Stuy means you can enjoy these views every day…

Bushwick

Credit: Nicholas Doyle – nsdoyle.com

A new neighborhood ideal for active city dwellers looking for a more vibrant, up-and-coming and relatively inexpensive area. Bushwick, one of the few areas still in transition, is a source of inspiration for artists and writers. The area remained unchanged until the mid-1990s, when it has since become a hub for new entrepreneurs and start-ups. The area began to rise to prominence as artists and designers took advantage of local real estate opportunities to create trendy lofts and studios. The streets of Bushwick is a real open-air museum dedicated to street art: it is one of the few places in the United States where crowds of people gather to admire the walls! In addition, the parks add a lot of recreational value to Bushwick.

Alps 2020. Alpine farm Eng-Alm / Eng-Alm: t_lavrova — LiveJournal

For the second year in a row, having the town of Mittenwald as a base, this time we explored not only its immediate surroundings, but also discovered a couple of places further away, including an alpine livestock farm Eng Alm. This is a very interesting thing, a relic of medieval communism on the border of Tyrol and Bavaria. At an altitude of 1270 m in a very remote piece of the same Karwendel (on the ground to detour there from Mittenwald one and a half hours by car, through the mountains – two days on foot through two passes) a farm has been preserved from the Middle Ages, which is still in the joint hereditary property of a handful peasants who in the summer drive their cows there to graze and live there from May to October. From October to May, this is the most deserted place in Europe, in terms of the number of people per square kilometer comparable to some wild corners of Canada.

The peculiarity of this particular valley of Karwendel (the mountainous region of Karwendel is very extensive, and there are many valleys in it) – old, 400 years old, maples grow here, which is why the valley is called Ahornboden – Maple Valley. There is a Big Maple Valley and a Small Maple Valley, Eng Alm is in the Big. We went here twice, once with Axel, the second time by bus at the end of our stay in Mittenwald.

On the way – beautiful rivers, Isar and Risbach. This, in my opinion, Izar. Well, and Vitka:

We are almost in full force:

We are approaching, maples are already visible, which are very atypical for the local stony soil. They grow old, they try to plant them again, but they take root badly. On the horizon – the owner of the valley and the genius of the place, the top of the Spritzkarspitze:

It is closer, on the road from the parking lot to the village:

The first time we arrived in the evening, the shepherds were driving the calves into the barn. Calves grazing separately:

A small panorama of the valley:

Evening colors:

We went to a village restaurant there, and it was amazing. You swallow your tongue. However, I can understand that cows living in such conditions produce outstanding milk, and everything that is made from milk, accordingly, is also outstanding. The photo does not show restaurant dishes, but children photographed exceptionally well. So big and so small, so different and so similar:

Sunset on the slopes:

More evening colors:

And the second time we arrived in Eng Alm by bus to say goodbye, on our last full day. We arrived and went for a walk to the nearest hut, plus 400 m of height.

Ksyushka with a calf. It must have been the smallest calf we’ve ever met. In the process of communication, the calf was hit by an electric wire, moaned very offendedly, jumped away like a goat, but continued communication:

Pharmacy Technician – Explore Health Care Careers

Page Content

What does a pharmacy technician do?

A pharmacy technician works closely with a pharmacist to ensure the health and safety of their patients. They locate, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before dispensed to the patient. They might also help pharmacists with administrative tasks such as processing insurance claims, tracking inventory, and filing paperwork.

Scope of practice

Pharmacy technicians work with doctors, nurses, and pharmacists. They perform a wide-range of tasks within the pharmacy.

Common tasks and duties include:

  • Preparing new prescription and refill requests for patients
  • Dispensing medication to patients per the prescription, or provider’s orders
  • Packing and labeling a prescribed medication
  • Processing insurance claims
  • Tracking inventory
  • Preparing compounded medications using sterile and non-sterile processes
  • Filling automated dispensing machines
  • Repackaging of bulk medications

Specializations

Like pharmacists, pharmacy technicians can practice in a specialty industry like academia, community, or government, or in a specialty area like critical care, oncology, or pediatrics.

Work environment

Pharmacy technicians typically work in retail stores, hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. They spend the majority of their work day on their feet, filling and packaging prescriptions, and working with pharmacists and other health care providers. Depending on where they work, they may need to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Becoming a pharmacy technician

Pharmacy technicians act as a link between patients and pharmacists, and play an important role in the health care team. If you enjoy helping people and love interacting with patients, but aren’t interested in clinical work, becoming a pharmacy technician may be a great option for you. It’s one of the few health care professions that works with patients, but does not work with procedures or direct patient care. High school students interested in this career path should take science courses like chemistry, biology, and medical terminology.

Higher education requirements

All pharmacy technicians need at least a high school degree or equivalent with on-the-job training, but many choose to complete a postsecondary education program such as a certificate program or an associate’s degree. There are many advantages to completing specialized training and then obtaining your certification.

A certificate program may be available in an online format and can be completed in as little as nine months. Completion of this type of program will help prepare students for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). There also are certificate programs that include a hands-on learning component where students spend time training in a pharmacy.

An associate’s degree program often takes around 2 years to complete and often include internship or externship experiences. Often students take the PTCE following their externship experience.

Certification process

Certification is a process by which nongovernmental agencies or associations grant recognition of competence to individuals who have met certain predetermined qualifications. Certification provides professional credentialing for pharmacy technicians and is required of some pharmacy technicians depending on where they are employed.

Requirements for pharmacy technicians depend on the particular state they practice. Some states do not require certification and are simply regulated through exams, continuing education, and background checks. Other states do require that pharmacy technicians are certified by passing the PTCE.

Once a pharmacy technician has passed the PTCE exam, they can practice as a certified pharmacy technician (CPHT).

Career opportunities and outlook

Pharmacy technicians can expect an annual median salary of $36,740 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Pharmacy technicians have countless career opportunities available. With additional training, education, and experience, some pharmacy technicians advance into managers of retail pharmacies, pharmaceutical representatives, or even pharmacists.
