CLEVELAND — A new survey from LendingTree.com shows Ohio with the third-highest average increase in daycare costs per child in the country since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
LendingTree researchers said they used Center for American Progress data on costs for center-based child care providers and data from Child Care Aware of America on household child care costs to quantify the effect on households.
The survey showed Ohio with a 102% increase in daycare costs during the pandemic, with an average annual cost of $7,554 per child before the pandemic, and a $15,230 average annual cost per child as the pandemic moved into 2021.
Delores Gray of Cleveland, who is now raising her two grandchildren after her 33-year-old daughter suddenly died in 2019, told News 5 she is feeling Ohio’s rising daycare costs.
Gray is wondering how she’ll be able to afford weekly daycare, so she can take a new job at MetroHealth Medical Center, during a pandemic that has her grandchildren learning remotely from home.
“It is really really tough, extremely hard, it gets difficult trying to maneuver, especially when you’re trying to work and make ends meet,” Gray said.
“Normally you’re in school, then they take you to daycare, but they’ll be in this daycare all day if I can find one. My heart goes out to everyone because I know how I feel, and I could just imagine what they’re going through,” she said.
“They need to put more funding for parents, single parents, for parents who have little children that have to go to daycare.”
“For people who have little children that have to go to daycare, we’re trying to find work, how can we find work when we can’t pay for daycare,” Gray said.
Joan Hamm, executive director of Children First of Cleveland daycare told News 5 she sees the financial stress families are facing every day, even though daycare prices at her facility have stayed stable during the pandemic.
Hamm said her daycare helps families find publicly funded childcare and gets them to Starting Point, a Cleveland daycare referral agency.
Hamm is also with the Ohio Association of Child Care Providers, and said $335 million in federal funding is on the way, with the money split three ways, to daycares, child care employees and families who need daycare cost assistance.
“With these families, I feel like every day I know that they’re struggling and they’re scared,” Hamm said.
“The first bucket of federal money is going to be for providers so that we don’t have to raise our prices in order to make ends meet,” she said.
Hamm said the State of Ohio has the next 60-days to submit its plan to the federal government and expected the state will launch that effort in late April, early May.

Grace does a wonderful job with our toddler! She’s reliable, communicates well, and is always coming up with something creative to do!

Alexis M.
Alexis handled our one-year-old twins very well! She helped with little things around the house without me even having to ask and worked around her school schedule to be there when we needed her. She was good with preparing meals and snacks for the boys and taking them outside to play which is veryimportant to us. A great nanny all around!…

Dependable and very involved with our young son. Sent me updates throughout the night as I needed. Very responsive over messenger and text. I would definitely hire Loralei again!

FAQs for finding child care near you in Duluth, MN
How much is child care near me in Duluth, MN?
Hiring someone on Care.com to provide child care services will cost an average of $14.42 per hour as of March 2023. This rate may vary depending on the experience each child care provider has, how many kids you will need them to watch, the age of your children, and whether you need part-time or full-time child care.
How can I find child care near me in Duluth, MN?
Care.com currently has 380 child care providers near you in Duluth, MN. You can search for caregivers by their distance from Duluth, MN and by hourly pay rate. Then you can compare their experience, specific services they offer and what age groups of kids they specialize in caring for. You can also read reviews from other families in Duluth, MN that have worked with the child care providers you’re interested in.
What interview questions should I ask a Duluth, MN child care provider?
You want to find a child care provider that will get along with your kids, but also follows many of the same parenting ideas you have. Structure your questions around how your kids behave in certain situations and what the provider thinks is the best action to take. And because there are plenty of activities to do in Duluth, MN, you should ask questions about the fun things each child care provider would do to keep your kids happy and entertained. Finally, ask each provider about their past child care experience, references from other families in Duluth, MN and if they are certified in first aid and CPR.
What type of child care services are available near me in Duluth, MN in March, 2023?
Different child care providers are willing to offer support in different ways. For example, some can provide after-school transportation and others can help with light housework and cleaning. The first step to finding the right type of child care is to outline what you’d like from a candidate before starting your child care search. Think about how much you are willing to pay, the level of experience you wish them to have, if you want them to have any first-aid certifications, and if you need them to handle additional duties beyond taking care of your kids. After this is completed, create an account on Care.com and answer a few questions to find child care providers near you that match your needs. You can then either post a job that can be seen by our extensive pool of caretakers, or search for child care providers on Care.com based on years of experience, hourly rate, availability, distance from your area, etc. After you have selected your candidates, you can schedule interviews, check references, request additional background checks, and hire the child care provider that best meets the needs of your family.

We look forward to seeing you! Please know you are a welcome guest, and we hope you and your children have a wonderful first visit.
Our staff and volunteers work hard to create a safe and meaningful class experience. Here are a few things that will help you have a successful time on Sundays.
· We recommend arriving 20 minutes before the service begins.
· When you arrive, you will find volunteers at all Welcome Desks ready to assist you in checking in your child.
· We will help you fill out a simple registration form. At that time, please let us know of any allergies or health concerns.
· Your child will be assigned a class, given a name/security label, and then escorted to classrooms.
· When you visit again, you can go directly to one of our kiosks and print a name/security label for your child. Please feel free to ask any of our volunteers for assistance with the kiosk. Once you’ve printed your child’s name/security label, you can go directly to the classroom listed on the label.
SICKNESS POLICY
1. For the protection of your child and the other children, we ask that you allow your child to recuperate at home with any of the following symptoms and/or illnesses:
Symptoms
Fever (99.5 degrees or higher) currently or within the previous 24 hours (Children should be fever-free without fever-reducing medicine for 24 hours)
Runny nose, green or yellow in color (excluding allergies)
Questionable rashes
Coughing
Diarrhea or vomiting
Sore throat
Illnesses
Impetigo
Active Chicken Pox
Measles
Mumps
Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)
Thrush
Croup
RSV
2. We will not administer medication. If your child is being treated with antibiotics, he/she should be on the medicine and “fever free” for at least 24 hours before coming to the nursery/classroom.
3. If the child develops a fever or other symptoms of illness while at church, we will contact the parent immediately so the child may be taken home to recuperate and receive the necessary care and rest.
4. If your child has a physical condition which might require some type of specialized intervention or precaution, please contact the Preschool/Children’s Minister to discuss special arrangements before bringing your child.
5. For the protection of all our little ones, caregivers and volunteers are asked to follow the same guidelines with regard to working in the preschool area when sick.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Secured Check-In
At Crossroads, we have a secure check-in process. First-time guests check-in at the Preschool Welcome Desk. We have amazing volunteers who will assist you. Once your child is in our system, you will be able to check-in at one of the kiosk located in the Preschool commons. We always have volunteers available to assist you.
How to Check-In
Enter the last four digits of your home phone number (or cell phone if that is your main contact number) to pull up your children’s information. Click on the class/service they will be attending that morning and make sure to “print all” when you are given the printing option. The label you receive for your child will have their name, the class they are assigned to, along with the parent/guardian name. There is also a random number generated weekly on the child’s label that corresponds with the random number on the parent’s label. If you are unable to locate your parent label when you come to pick-up your child, please see the Volunteer Coordinator. You will be asked to provide some identification before your child is released to you. Thank you for understanding and for helping us to make Crossroads the safest place for your children!
Magnetic Lock Doors
While we have children inside the preschool area, we have the ability to lock our doors for extra security purposes. Our Preschool Coordinators and Welcome Desk Assistants have scan card access to the doors, and we are happy to allow you in at any time. We lock the doors at the beginning of our Large Group Time and un-lock them prior to the end of each service.
Careful Screening of Volunteers and Workers
We have a careful screening process for all our volunteers and childcare staff. We review all applications, contact references, submit background checks, require a child abuse awareness training session (Ministry Safe Training), and interview all potential candidates to assess each individual is the right fit for our ministry.
Hand Washing
We realize that the #1 way to prevent the spreading of germs amongst children is effective hand washing. We do our very best to ensure that your child and other children are not passing germs. Please help us with this effort by washing their hands before they arrive. When spending time with us, we have them wash their hands before snack, after playing on the playground and after using the restroom. We do our best to wash our hands frequently, after tending to a child’s nose, before we hand out snack, after taking the children to the restroom and after we use the restroom.
Cleanliness
When changing diapers, our staff uses a new pair of gloves for each diaper change and we spray the changing pad with a safe disinfectant spray after each change. All surfaces in a classroom are sprayed with a safe disinfectant that kills germs but is safe on toys, after each time children have been in a classroom. All of our sheets and blankets are laundered after every use. If a crib is used multiple times, new sheets and blankets are used for every new child. Please be especially aware of signs of illness before coming to the nursery. Do not send children with symptoms of contagion to the nursery. These symptoms include green nasal discharge, fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Children must be fever free for twenty-four hours before returning to the nursery. If a child has a runny nose due to allergies, a doctor’s note stating the child is not contagious is extremely helpful for us and other concerned parents.
Special Needs
Crossroads is a loving, safe and caring place for all children. We will take the best possible care of your child and will make every effort to accommodate any child with special needs. Please let us know of any special needs your child may have by visiting with us at the Welcome Desk, or feel free to contact our preschool staff at 936-271-7500.

Spring Woodlands Ministries is an organization to support seniors and those in our senior community living with food insufficiency. SWM identifies seniors living in these communities suffering from food insufficiency. Their “Bags of Love” food distribution delivers groceries, monthly, to those seniors. Forty-one percent of all seniors in America live only on Social Security. The average Social Security check received by seniors is $1,200.00 per month. After paying bills, many seniors often have $200.00 or less for food, fuel, co-pays to doctor’s appointments, prescription medicines and any other incidentals.
In spite of COVID 19, SWM served meals and distributed groceries to 3686 low income seniors in 2020. These seniors suffered from fear, loneliness, mental and physical issues during the lockdown from COVID. For these seniors, visiting with SWM volunteers that brought them encouragement cards, food, hygiene items, hope, listening ears, and an opportunity to pray, all from 6 feet in distance.
Volunteers are always welcome to help sort, pack and deliver these “Bags of Love” as well as for special events like their annual Thanksgiving feast.

University of North Carolina at Greensboro Libraries, USA – HiSoUR Cultural History
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro University Library System has two branches on campus located in Greensboro, North Carolina. These include the Walter Clinton Jackson Library and the Harold Shifman Music Library. Affiliated campus libraries include the Teaching Resource Center and the SELF Design Studio at the School of Education, the Interior Architecture Library at the Gatewood Studio Arts Building, and the Multicultural Resource Center located at the Elliot University Center.
Walter Clinton Jackson The Library contains approximately 2,000,000 physical items in its collections and also provides access to millions of digital items. Jackson has over 300 publicly accessible computers and has a million visitors each year. The Harold Schiffman Music Library specializes in music materials and services, and is located in the Music building.
When the State Normal and Industrial School (now UNCG) first opened its doors in October 1892, it had no library or library books. However, founder and president Charles Duncan McIver spoke adamantly about “The Library We Have,” and he personally donated many of his books to start the school’s first reference collection. Other faculty members followed suit, donating or lending books from their personal libraries in order to create a collection for student use. the school’s collection of books continued to grow, and in 189In 6, Annie Florence Petty was hired as NORMAL’s first State Librarian. On October 2, 1905, the library of the State Normal and Industrial College (now the University of North Carolina at Greensboro) moved from a small room in the main building (now the Faust Building) to the newly built Carnegie Library (now the Forney Building). Given the ever-growing need for more library space, college president Charles D. McIver contacted Andrew Carnegie, a well-known philanthropist and strong supporter of libraries, and asked for the funds needed to construct the building. Notably, he agreed to finance the entire project, which amounted to $18,868 at its completion.
Unfortunately, the tragedy of the library on September 15, 1932, when it mysteriously caught fire. Final damage to the building and its contents, including books, is estimated to be around $98,000 (or $1,600,000 today). Thereafter, Mr. Charles H. Stone, librarian of the college, began the difficult task of restoring the library’s damaged collection. Books and materials that could be salvaged and preserved were taken to the Student Building while stacked materials were left on site but were not available to students.
The Carnegie Library was restored and remains the main library on campus until June 1950, when over 134,000 books were moved to new, larger library buildings across the street, later named after former chancellor Walter Clinton Jackson. At the same time, the older part of the library still stands and houses a large part of the library administration and special collections and university archives. In 1964, the library became the federal records repository; it still retains the status of an elective depositary for US government documents, as well as a full depositary of government documents. The nine-storey addition tower was built in the main building in 1970s, making it an iconic on campus.
University library collections totaling over 2 million printed books and federal and state documents. The library houses over one million printed volumes and provides access to over 60,000 journals, over 400,000 e-books, and over 360 electronic databases. Digital Projects The team has created numerous digital collections, totaling over 300,000 digital files, from the holdings of university libraries and other institutions in the area.
Library The UNCG catalog currently holds stocks for materials at the Walter Clinton Jackson Library, the Harold Shifman Music Library, the Multicultural Resource Center, and the Learning Resource Center. holdings of special collections, rare books and university archives are increasingly available through an online catalog.

Service is located at the main information desk on the 1st floor. The collection includes both federal and North Carolina documents. The Library Catalog contains a record of the library’s collection of federal documents published after 1976 and North Carolina state documents published after 1987 years old.
Harold Schiffman Music Library is located on the main level of the School of Music, Theater and Dance building (corner of W Market and McIver Streets) and supports the University’s educational, research and service purposes by providing the musical resources, information, and services needed by students, faculty, staff and community members. The collection consists of sound recordings, video recordings, scores, books and TV series about music. Faculty, staff and students are invited to come to the Harold Shifman Music Library to listen and view audio and video materials and check books and abacus.
Marfo Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archives (SCUA) is located on the second floor of the library’s main wing. SCUA houses rare books, campus photographs, a performing arts collection, artefacts and textiles relating to student life, and archival and manuscript materials that document the history of the university.

Among the principal authors represented with significant holdings are George Herbert, Emily Dickinson, Lois Lensky, Randall Jarrell, Lawrence, Rupert Brooke and Charles Dickens. Bryan.
University Archives materials date from the founding of the university in 1891 and includes records of presidents and chancellors, boards of trustees, faculty and student committees, societies and organizations, student publications, and many of the university’s academic divisions and administrative offices. In addition to paper records, this collection includes extensive holdings of photographs, clippings, oral histories, postcards, artefacts, and textiles.
SCUA is also the steward of two world-famous collections: Hakimzadeh Carter Women’s historical project Betty Veterans and the largest holding of cello music related materials.
NC DOC is the result of a collaborative effort to make academic output from the University of North Carolina system more accessible to the world. Current institutional members include Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, UNC Pembroke, UNC Wilmington and West Carolina University. NC DOKI includes many full text articles, audio recordings, dissertations and other formats. All materials are indexed by Google and freely available to scientists and researchers around the world.
Digital Projects Office, part of Electronic Resources and Information Technology (ERIT) The Department is responsible for coordinating the digital storage and access of projects both within the library and for external custodians of unique historical material, including UNCG educators and local cultural heritage organizations. Priorities The Digital Projects team has identified four collection of priority areas for new digital projects based on strong collections and priorities within the university and university libraries: 1) the history of the university; 2) local and regional history; 3) women’s history; 4) performing arts.
Most of the reserve material is now available online through Blackboard, but the Libraries do still maintain a small collection of print stock located at the desk’s exit on the first floor.
Digital Media Commons supports the 21st century learning and curriculum goals of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and university libraries by providing the space, technology, resources, services, and experiences to support the digital creation of multimedia projects. Its goals are to provide interactive consulting services to UNCG students, faculty and staff, to create multimedia projects for their educational and professional needs; to enable the development of the faculty in the creation of multimedia assignments for the development of student information and digital literacy; and provide screen space and technology, edit films and other media, presentation practices and collaboration.

Among the main book collections in special collections are the collection of a large and significant woman, with titles from the fifteenth through the twentieth century; American Women’s Detective Fiction Collection; Girls’ books in the Collection series; American Trading Binding Collection; Collection Juvenile; and books Art Collection.
University Archives collects documents and records—published and unpublished—relevant to the history of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Records of past chancellors, a collection of over 50,000 images dating back to the 1890s, as well as university and student publications, are among over two million items held in the archive.

The collections also include scores and other editions that complement the material in other Cello music collections.
The mission of the North Carolina Literary Map, run by the University’s Department of Special Collections and Archives, is to highlight the state’s literary heritage by connecting authors’ lives and works to real (and imaginary) geographic locations. Through the development of searchable and swipeable data-driven online maps, users can access databases, learning tools, and cultural resources to deepen their understanding of specific authors as well as the cultural space that forms these literary works.
Libraries provide a variety of quiet and group study spaces at both the Jackson Library and the Harold Shifman Music Library. Students, faculty, and staff can reserve group spaces, many of which are equipped with technology, through the library’s home page reservation system. More than 200 computers provide students with access to information resources, as well as a wide range of software. In addition to circulating books like the Jackson and Schiffman Library, check out movies, CDs and technology including laptops, iPads, camcorders, voice recorders and calculators. The Check Out Desk at Jackson Library is maintained by the Access Services and Delivery Department (ASD), operating every time the building is open, including 24/5 service during the school year. ASD also offers reserves, an on-campus supply of faculty materials and an interlibrary loan for all UNCG users. When it comes to our kids, sometimes it takes a village — and today, we hope to become a part of yours. Our team of parents read through 4,317 preschool reviews, so that you don’t have to.
With over 500 early education providers in the Austin area, it’s sometimes hard to figure out which one is the best preschool for your child. And, there’s no one-size-fits-all list that works for everyone.
As parents ourselves, we know that reviews matter. It just stinks that reviews are scattered across so many different places. Who has the time for all that? So, we wanted to help.
As we read through thousands of reviews together, one core thing stood out: there are so many amazing preschools, teachers, and staff in Austin that genuinely care. They go above and beyond to provide children with high-quality preparation for elementary school — and life in general. So many of these reviews just melted our hearts.
Consider this guide a starting point. We couldn’t feature every top preschool in and around Austin, but below are some of the most highly-rated preschools based on parent reviews across the web.
If you have any questions before you dive into specific schools, check out our Common Preschool Questions section below. There are so many things we didn’t know when it was our first time searching for preschools — things like “what sort of licenses should I look for?” and “what’s the actual difference between preschool and pre-kindergarten?” We answer these and many other questions later in our guide.
Ok, let’s do this!
Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy of North Austin
Parent Reviews
“Thoughtful” was the key word across many parent reviews for Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy in North Austin. From the moment you drop off your child, parents describe a level of thoughtfulness that leaves an impression. So many parents write about how well every staff member knows each individual child. Worried about your kid during the day? There are live-stream cameras you can check anytime on your phone. Wondering if your child will be hungry? There’s an on-site chef. Hoping your little one will become just as thoughtful? There’s even an etiquette class for that.
Program Highlights
Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy (KRK) is an NAEYC accredited preschool serving North Austin and Avery Ranch. Open from 6:30am to 6:30pm, KRK has programming for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. STEAM-based activities are a core part of their G.Y.M curriculum (“Growing Young Minds”). And, extracurricular activities like soccer, gymnastics, and yoga are included for free.
A+ Kids Playschool
Parent Reviews
Many parents have a hard time getting their kids to go to school. Throughout the Austin reviews we read, we kept seeing how many parents at A+ Kids Playschool mentioned that their kids just “don’t want to leave. ” And, many of the kids asked their parents to come back on the weekends. To school! If that’s not a measure of success, we don’t know what is. Ms. Mita is clearly doing something right. Many parents loved how A+ felt like home, but also had a good structure and a solid curriculum to prepare their children for kindergarten.
Program Highlights
With over 15 years of experience serving students and families, A+ Kids Playschool is a licensed in-home child care center, offering a full-time preschool program. The curriculum lessons offer structured activities that help your little one develop critical thinking, social-emotional, and sensory skills. Preschool is open to children ages 3 to 5, and runs from 7:00am to 5:30pm. And, your morning routine just got easier, because tuition includes all meals and snacks.
Little Hands International Preschool
Parent Reviews
We haven’t read so many parent reviews that say their school feels “like family” — until we got to Little Hands International Preschool. And not a dysfunctional family over Thanksgiving, but a truly loving and compassionate one. From the moment parents were greeted for their first tour to their children’s last day, parents across the board say how welcoming, warm, and inviting everyone has been. Both parents and children have felt such “GENUINE warmth,” as one parent put it. Sometimes, you get to choose your family. And so many parents were happy they chose Little Hands to be a part of theirs.
Program Highlights
Little Hands has a preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds that focuses on inquiry-based learning and collaborative play. There is also a pre-kindergarten classroom for 4 and 5 year olds that includes instruction for kindergarten and academic readiness. Little Hands teachers use the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies, which is “research-based and supports the development of the whole child.” Each teacher completes 24+ hours of professional development training each year. There are Chinese and Spanish language lessons, and there’s even one acre of space for your child to safely explore and play.
Rising Stars Preschool
Parent Reviews
“LOVE!!” That’s the one word parents used most often in their reviews for Rising Stars Preschool (yes, in all caps, and with lots of exclamation points). Parents and their kids “LOVE” everything from the curriculum and teachers to the cleanliness and flexible schedules. And of course, the special touches: fun fire truck visits and pizza parties, anyone? Yes, please.
Program Highlights
In the Cedar Park suburb of Austin, Rising Stars was launched over 10 years ago by two stay-at-home moms who wanted to create an environment that focuses on school-readiness and allows kids time to develop positive social interactions. Rising Stars offers both full-time (7:00am to 6:00pm) and part-time programs (9:00am to 3pm). Their preschool program for children ages 3 to 5 has a student-teacher ratio of 8:1. Today, all of their lead instructors hold college degrees, and their preschool curriculum “emphasizes writing, pre-reading, math, science, history, geography, and health and safety. ”
Copernicus STEM Academy
Parent Reviews
In many reviews for Copernicus STEM Academy, parents highlight just how genuinely excited their children are to go to school each morning. With so many creative and imaginative activities each day, who wouldn’t be excited? Here are just a few examples of lessons that get kids running out of bed: visits from the Humane Society, pasta demos with a chef, learning safety with an EMS, chemistry experiments, gardening, catapult building, testing electronic circuits, and making reclaimed art. Maybe one activity will be building us a time machine, so that we can be kids again and come along for these fun days.
Program Highlights
From a very young age, children at Copernicus will learn to become innovators and creative problem solvers. Through STEM-based activities, arts & literacy lessons, and a dual language immersion program (English and Spanish), your child will be well-rounded and prepared to take on any challenge. The Copernicus framework “incorporates a scientific approach to learning while the child is playing.” Copernicus offers full-time (5 days per week) or part-time (2-3 days per week) enrollment options.
My Time Kids Academy
Parent Reviews
At My Time Kids Academy, parents have said in their reviews just how “personal” the education experience is for each child because of the impressively low student-teacher ratios. The small classroom sizes are consistently a feature of so many reviews — parents appreciate how that enables teachers to really get to know each student on a personal level. Many parents have posted how wonderful the relationships have become between their kids and the teachers.
Program Highlights
My Time is owned by a local Austin mom, and is a licensed preschool for children ages 2.5 to 6 years old. Their curriculum offers integrated activities across math, science, social studies and language arts. There are even enrichment classes that are covered in the tuition — things like STEM discovery lab, cooking, music and gymnastics. There’s an indoor gym and an outdoor play area with fun playhouses and activity zones. And, the student-teacher ratio is 5:1.
First English Lutheran Child Development Center
Parent Reviews
“Consistent” was a key word in many parent reviews for First English Lutheran Child Development Center. And they are consistently consistent in many areas. A big factor is the very low turnover rate; many parents highlighted just how impactful it was to have a consistent set of teachers and familiar faces, and how that gave them peace of mind. Parents also noted just how consistent the communication was. They loved getting daily pictures and updates, weekly lessons for the week ahead, and fast communication back from the staff.
Program Highlights
The Center offers full-day programming year-round and is open from 7:15am to 6pm. The “Rainbows” classroom is for 3-year-olds and has an emergent curriculum focused on hands-on learning. The “Explorers” classroom is for your 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds. Both classrooms have a student-teacher ratio of 16:2. Two things that really stand out are the food and the outdoor learning environment. At breakfast, lunch and snack time, Chef Jennifer makes sure your little ones are eating real, non-processed foods (check out the sample menu — amazing). And, the shaded on-site outdoor play space is a gem that your child will use at least twice a day.
Canyon Creek Preschool
Parent Reviews
Canyon Creek Preschool’s parent reviews overwhelmingly talk about how “nurturing” the teachers and staff have been to their children. Parents say how comfortable they are dropping off their kids in the morning, because they know that everyone at Canyon Creek will love and care for their children as if they were their own. What incredible peace of mind. Many parents say how this nurturing environment has really created a safe space for their children to flourish and truly learn to love learning.
Program Highlights
Canyon Creek Preschool’s program is formed around a “process-centered” approach that focuses on the ways in which your child learns and discovers the world around them. There is a strong emphasis on activity-based learning, so that children can learn by doing. Each classroom has both a lead teacher and an assistant teacher, giving your child more hands-on support. Classes are in session Tuesdays to Fridays, and you can choose flexible options depending on how many days you want to include.

Common preschool questions
The first time we had to find preschools for our kids, we had so many questions — like so many. But don’t worry, we have your back. Here are the core questions that our team pulled together and researched. If there are any others, just reach out and we’ll be happy to help. Just shoot a message over to [email protected].
When do kids start preschool?
What’s the difference between preschool and pre-kindergarten
Is pre-k mandatory in Texas?
What are my public school options for early education in Austin?
What sort of license should I look for at a preschool?
How can I get my family financial assistance for child care?
What are my school options if I qualify for financial assistance?
When do kids start preschool?
Most preschools start accepting kids around the age of 2.5 to 3 years old, but since every child is different, this isn’t a magic number. Preschool readiness really depends more on developmental factors than chronological age. Read more in our post here.
What’s the difference between preschool and pre-kindergarten?
Preschool programs are generally for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Pre-kindergarten is for the higher end of that range, usually for children 4 to 5 years old. Pre-kindergarten is generally timed for the school year directly prior to when the child would enroll in kindergarten; pre-kindergartens are also usually attached to elementary schools, so families have a smooth transition to enroll in kindergarten the next year.
Is pre-k mandatory in Texas?
No. Preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten are not mandatory in Texas. You can read more from the Texas Education Agency here.
What are my public school options for early education in Austin?
The Austin Independent School District offers public pre-kindergarten for students ages 4 to 5 years old, with some limited availability for students as young as 3 years old. Austin offers public pre-kindergarten for 4 to 5 year olds at almost all Austin elementary schools; pre-kindergarten is district-supported, or free, if your family meets eligibility requirements. Families can pay for tuition-based pre-kindergarten if they don’t qualify for those eligibility requirements. Tuition-based pre-kindergarten is still relatively reasonable in cost compared to private preschools in Austin.
What sort of license should I look for at a preschool?
Austin preschools are required to hold a child care license and are regulated by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. You can search for a school’s license on the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services’s website and see full inspections and reports from the last five years. There are some exemptions from a full child care license; faith-based preschools are notably exempt, as are preschools attached to a greater public or private elementary school (which are regulated via the school’s school age license).
How can I get my family financial assistance for child care?
Paying for child care is expensive, and Austin does provide options for families to receive financial assistance for care. In Travis County, aid is provided by the Workforce Solutions Capital Area Child Care Services program; families can check their eligibility for the program online and if eligible, complete an application. Financial assistance is subject to the program’s current funds, so exact benefit is hard to calculate in advance, but qualified families are encouraged to apply to get details on what assistance they can receive.
What are my school options if I qualify for financial assistance?
The Workforce Solutions Capital Area Child Care Services program, which provides financial aid for child care for qualified families, partners with over 400 child care programs in the Austin area, including both child care centers and in-home care providers. You can search for & secure a spot at any of these child care providers and have your care subsidized; they are all listed on the Workforce Solutions website. If you cannot find a spot at any of these child care providers, you can even organize care with a relative and still receive financial aid.

Homeschool Preschool: The Playing Preschool Program
Meet Playing Preschool: the best homeschool preschool curriculum. Playing Preschool provides families with a new way to do preschool at-home using a hands-on, play-based method of learning. This simple program helps make homeschool preschool successful with in-depth guidance and step by step lesson plans.
What are you teaching your child today?
Do you ever wish you had a blueprint for what to do with your kids? “Teach them this, read them this, talk to them about this, do this activity with them.”
I know I do.
Can you imagine the relief of knowing what to teach your child each day? No more flying by the seat of your pants. No more wondering how to make it to nap time each day. No more worrying that they aren’t learning.
Get ready for a whole lot of relief.
I’ve made a simple homeschool preschool curriculum to solve this problem.
Welcome to Playing Preschool – a new way to homeschool preschool
Welcome to having a hands-on, simple-to-follow curriculum for teaching children at home. Welcome to a cost-effective preschool solution without the competitive pressure of school. Welcome to at-home preschool without a workbooks.
When I was a new parent, the cost of preschool for my children was staggering to consider, but the idea of teaching them at home with purchased worksheets didn’t feel like me.
I started to envision how I wanted their preschool years to look and also, how I could serve other families in the same situation.
As a former kindergarten teacher, I wanted a little more structurewith a lot less pressure. I wanted planning, sequence, and play-based learning.
I couldn’t find what I was looking for in the homeschool preschool curriculum world so I made Playing Preschool: A sequenced, 190 day play-based learning program. Then, I decided to make Playing Preschool Year 2(to keep the party rolling).
What is Playing Preschool?
Playing Preschool was written by me (Susie Allison) the creator of the 1. 9 million follower Instagram account, Busy Toddler. I was a kindergarten and first grade teacher and I have a Master’s in Early Childhood Education. Playing Preschool has been a best selling preschool curriculum since it was released in 2017.
Playing Preschool (1 & 2) is homeschool preschool ebook program designed to change the way you think about early childhood education.
Each year of Playing Preschool is broken into 19-unitsof homeschool preschool done easy: sequenced, pre-planned, hands-on activities in a simple daily lesson plan. Not only are these activities fun, but they’re educational – think reading, math, science, and art!
The years are each 190 days of lessons aka a traditional school year, but without the pressure, commitment, or financial burden of traditional preschool.
Playing Preschool is a system of teaching young children that I developed over my years as a classroom teacher. It’s play-based, low key, and easy to follow.
Playing Preschool focuses on experience and exposure.
It’s about building background knowledge for your child so when they enter school and the teachers say, “Today we will be measuring things,” your child can unlock prior knowledge and feel confident in class. “I know what measuring is – my parents and I do that all the time!”
Playing Preschool is “evergreen.”
This means Playing Preschool doesn’t follow a calendar or season or holidays or hemispheres. You can start this when your child is ready – in the fall, after the new year, or in the middle of April.
Many families start Playing Preschool at the beginning of a traditional school year.
Many families start Playing Preschool in January after the New Year.
Many families start Playing Preschool in the Spring as part of Kindergarten Readiness.
An overview of the Playing Preschool ebooks
Each year of Playing Preschool is 19 thematic units spanning 38 weeks, 26 alphabet letters, and 190 days.
With Year 1, you’ll also find a 20+ page “Start-Up guide” so I can give you all the insight possible on how this program works and make sure you are ready to teach it.
With Year 2, you’ll get a 20+ page “Introduction to Learning” guide to assist you in teaching your child.
Playing Preschool Years 1 & 2 are each built on 19 themed units, each unit is two weeks long.A homeschool preschool day in Playing Preschool includes a suggested book perfect for the theme, questions to ask your child, conversations to have, and two simple activities.
But these are not traditional activities or complicated lesson plans.
They’re highly engaging.
They’re easy to set up.
They use minimal supplies and best of all, they’re packed with learning.
You’ll find weekly overviews and daily lesson plans packed into the 300+ page programs. These are lessons I wrote out and scripted for you to help you be the best teacher possible for your child.
There’s structure: each day follows a predictable pattern. There’s planning: every day is planned for you. There’s a sequence: these aren’t random activities. The skills in these activities grow and develop along with your child.
“Thank you for a program that values the individual development of kids and shows such HONOR to the work they are capable of, while never pushing them in ways they’re not ready for. I have three munchkins under 5 and I also love that this curriculum is something I can have the 2 year old join in with and also do with a baby on my hip.” –Sara, Mom to 3 kids under 5
The sequence of Playing Preschool
And the units are sequenced and build in their complexity as your child ages. These aren’t random activities set at a random point in time. Playing Preschool follows a clear line of progression: skills build and grow.
This is a unique feature to Playing Preschool from other online homeschool preschool options. The lessons grow as your child grows.
For example, math activities in Year 1, Unit 1 focus on numbers 1-5. In unit 19, the focus is on numbers 1-12. The following year, they’re counting groups of 20 and joining numbers together.
This program as a clear scope and sequence. The Unit 19 activities are a lot more challenging than Unit 1 activities – and they should be!
A note on Year 2
When you start the second year of Playing Preschool, the skills pick up right where you and your child left off. And just like in Year 1, the skills continue to grow and increase in complexity as your child develops.
Don’t skip Playing Preschool Year 1 because your child is on the older end of the age spectrum or because they “know” their alphabet.
The learning done in Year 1 is a “prerequisite” for Year 2; Playing Preschool Year 2 assumes you and your child already completed Playing Preschool Year 1.
Year 2 is NOT for older children, but rather for children who have completed Year 1.
Year 2 is built on knowledge learned in Year 1, and these aren’t easy concepts like letter names or counting to 10. These are concepts like how to sequence events, how to classify data, using a ten-frame, measuring with non-standard instruments, and predicting events in a story (just to name a few).
Sample of Playing Preschool
I put all my teacher skills to use designing this one-of-a-kind homeschool preschool program. Each year is broken into 19 units. Each unit is two weeks long.
A week is 5 days of learning activities. Here’s what each day looks like:
Start the day: calendar, song/poem, and an introduction to the topic
A read aloud perfect for the theme
“Things to Talk About”: a conversation to have with your child about the book/theme
A learning activity – this is an activity usually done by parent AND child to develop a targeted skill (but still fitting within the theme)
An easy activity – a quick & easy themed activity that the child can typically do independently
Unit introduction, supply list, suggested books, poem and songWeek 1 unit overview for Year 1: TransportationTransportation unit, Week 1: Monday lesson plans
“Susie, you have allowed me to not get discouraged by other homeschool preschool programs, handouts, print outs, curriculum etc. You spell everything out so easily and make homeschooling young children fun versus daunting! I was able to start this just a few weeks after moving and it doesn’t feel overwhelming at all.” -Kristin, Mom to a 3.5 year old and 2 year old
Each week comes with a unit overview (so you can see what the week looks like) and daily lesson plans (complete with full written direction, some photos, and pre-made questions to ask).
There’s also a simple supply list, suggested book list, song and poem for each unit.
Year 2, Unit 1, Week 1: All About Me
A different kind of homeschool preschool
This is not a traditional homeschool preschool curriculum.
I designed this program to be something you can do quickly – each day is only about 45 minutes to 1 hour long. Don’t have time for that? Break it up throughout the day (this program is flexible!).
Playing Preschool can be done while the baby is napping. It can be done with a baby on your hip. It can be done all day long in short 5 minute bursts. It can be done in a playroom, in a school room or on the floor of your family room (that’s where I teach my kids!).
What age group is homeschool preschool for?
I designed Playing Preschool Year 1 for ages 2.5 – 5 years old.
It’s an incredibly open-ended program designed to meet the needs of a wide range of children. When I wrote Year 1, my kids were 2.5 and 4 years old. BOTH my kids love these activities and BOTH have learned so much from this program.
I also built in a lot of extensions to lessons so it’s easy to see how to bump up the challenge level.
Year 2 assumes that the child has completed the FULL Playing Preschool Year 1 program. Once your child has finished Year 1, they are ready for Year 2.
“Playing Preschool works. When I say “works” I don’t just mean it’s an effective teaching method (it is absolutely is), I also mean it works for US—it’s doable, it’s manageable, it’s ENJOYABLE! I taught preschool for 8 years before becoming a stay at home mom—I wanted to teach my own children, but I didn’t want it to be a chore for me— this has made it so easy and fun. I have seen so much growth in my kids development since starting this program, but it has also helped us develop a daily rhythm and provided a framework for our day that has been invaluable to me.” -Serenity, Mom to a 4 year old
A list of the targeted skills in Playing Preschool
I didn’t pick every skill in the world for your child work with during Playing Preschool Year 1 or Year 2. I picked a few – ones I believe can be easily taught at home and will build background knowledge for entering school later down the road.
Skills for Playing Preschool Year 1:
Sorting: learning to sort, classify, and work with groups of objects
Predicting: asking and answering questions
Alphabet Knowledge: an introduction into each letter of the alphabet, seeing letters in the world around us, building a deeper relationship
Recall and Retell: learning to retell a book, information, or sequence of events
Shapes: introducing simple shapes and their defining/identifying attributes
Measurement: learning measuring vocabulary, working with capacity, etc.
Number Sense: learning about numbers (one to one correspondence, number recognition, quantity, counting) and how we use them (to value, measure, and order objects).
Skills in Playing Preschool Year 2:
Reading Comprehension: predicting, cause and effect, compare and contrast, vocabulary, and sequencing skills
Alphabet Knowledge: learning more about letters with a focus on letter sounds and sounds in print / environment
Math Skills: measurement, sorting, graphing, patterns, and shapes
Number Sense: understanding value, joining numbers together, comparing numbers, and recognizing numbers in various arrangements
Recall and Retell: continuing the work from Year 1 on retelling information
School Skills: exposure to cutting, gluing, folding, and tracing
…and that’s not even all. Both programs are full of science, fine motor skill, gross motor skill, art, and sensory based activities too.
We want to teach the “whole child” and honor the fact that children learn in various ways. By exploring topics through different subjects and activities, our children will glean and learn even more.
Alphabet crafts from Playing Preschool Year 1
Holy cow – that seems like A LOT!
Each day in each program, you’ll focus on TWO skills with your child. Just TWO.
And the best part is: you’ll get into a routine with these skills because they repeat each week on the same day (think fish sticks Friday but teaching style). Every Tuesday is always alphabet knowledge and number sense, Fridays are always recall and retell.
You’ll get comfortable. You’ll become an expert at teaching measurement because every Wednesday in Year 1, you’ll do a measurement activity with your child.
“My daughter (turns 3 years next month) gets so excited to do “school” each day! She has enjoyed every activity so far. I love it because the prep for the lessons is so quick/simple, the materials used are mostly things we already have around the house, there are scripts/question prompts included to encourage conversation, and I like the variety of activities offered each day. ” -Rachel, Mom to an almost 3 year old
“But my child knows their alphabet and numbers already, is this program right for them?”
I hear you and that’s great! Alphabet knowledge continues to grow through elementary school and number sense skills develop throughout their life (high school algebra is still number sense!).
What we are working on in both Playing Preschool Years 1 & 2 is moving beyond memorizing.
We want kids to understand letters as a building block and tool for reading, to see letters in the world around them and to form a base for when they are ready to read. We want our kids to really know their letters.
There is a large emphasis in both years on building phonemic awareness, which is a critical skill that has a direct impact on a child’s future reading success.
“What about numbers? My kids knows how to count!”
There’s so much more to numbers than counting.
It’s about understanding value, joining numbers together, comparing numbers, and recognizing numbers in various arrangements. We dig deep with numbers in Playing Preschool. Throughout the program, children will use numbers, create with them, explore their purpose, and expand their understanding of how numbers interact in our world.
This is more than how high they can count.
Remember: Repetition and practice are a good thing. LeBron James still goes to practice each day and takes simple shots. Another way to think about learning? When kids learn to ride a two-wheeled bike, we don’t put the bike away and say,” Good job mastering that skill, now let’s learn something else.” Can you even imagine? That’s what learning is like in these early years. We must keep practicing!
“I have a toddler (2 1/2) and a baby (6 mo.) and I originally bought the program to have something to do with my oldest. I had looked at Pinterest a million times but often forgot to check it or got overwhelmed by putting things together. Your program is what I wish I could have done myself! I feel so much better equipped to teach my daughter and communicate with her. This program has proved to be a wonderful balance between wanting to teach her academic concepts and letting her learn her best way.” -Brooke, Mom to a 2.5 year old and 6 month old
Things you won’t find in Playing Preschool
Long stretches of sitting and doing seat work. You won’t find that here. There’s none of that.
This is a vibrant, hands-on curriculum. Your child will be active, moving, and engaged as they learn and explore the world around them.
You also won’t find any worksheets in Year 1 or Year 2.
Why this is a doable homeschool preschool program
This isn’t an overwhelming program.
When you get down to the guts, this program is a book and a few activities each day with your child. It’s just that these activities aren’t random. They’re in a well-thought out, sequenced design and placed in fun thematic units.
And just think: you’ll know what you’re doing each day for the next 9+, and another 9+ months after that with Year 2. Two full school years worth of activities at your fingertips!
I wrote each lesson with you in mind – with tips for teaching it, extensions for your child, and explicit instructions so you feel comfortable.
“I purchased Playing Preschool year 1 for my son (4 years old, now 5). My son as autism spectrum disorder and ADHD so although he goes to kindergarten four days a week I wanted some ideas to help boost his learning and the hands on activities are fantastic for that (as is a good sensory bin).” -Amy, Mom to a 5 year old
Screenshots from the 20+ page Start-Up Guide. Two more screenshots from the Start-Up Guide
“My kids are 4 years and 21 months old and I love that Playing Preschool can be adapted for different ages! It’s great to have them work on fun activities and learn valuable skills at the same time.” -Allison, Mom to a 4 year old and a 21 month old

Frequently Asked Questions
Can preschoolers be homeschooled?
Yes! Preschool is a relatively new concept to American schools… and the idea of doing multiple years of preschool is even newer. The goal of preschool (any preschool) is to expand a child’s knowledge base and continue their skill building. As a former kindergarten teacher, I can attest to what a mixed bag kindergarten is: some kids from daycare, some competitive preschool, some from co-op, homeschool, or no schooling. It was often hard to tell which kids came from which schooling background into kindergarten.
Is homeschool preschool feasible for working parents?
That depends. If your child’s needs are being met through a daycare or other preschool setting, then you probably don’t need an additional homeschool program. Enjoy your time together after work. Let them play. Read to them. Enjoy conversations. But, if this is really on your heart, your struggling with a routine during non-working hours then this may be a good fit. I encourage you to try Unit 1 for free and see if it works before purchasing.
Do you sell a hard copy of Playing Preschool?
I do not. The cheapest way for me to offer this to families, and make it accessible around the world, is to keep the program as an ebook. You’ll receive the files via email. You are absolutely permitted to print one copy of Playing Preschool (and directions for printing can be found here).

The Federal Educational Program for Preschool Education (FOP DO) has been approved – Blog of the Inspector of Public Education
eduinspector
The Ministry of Education, by order of November 25, 2022 No. 1028, approved the Federal Educational Program for Preschool Education (FOP DO). The corresponding order is published on the official portal of legal information. FOP DO, developed in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard, defines the basic volume and content of preschool education that are common for the Russian Federation, and is aimed at implementing the main functions of preschool education:
– training and education of a child of preschool age as a citizen of Russia, the formation of the foundations of his civil and cultural identity;
– creation of a single core of the content of preschool education , based on the spiritual and moral values of the Russian people, educating the younger generation as knowing and respecting the history and culture of their family, large and small Motherland;
— creation of a unified educational space education and upbringing of children from birth to admission to a general educational organization, providing the child and his parents (legal representatives) with equal quality conditions for preschool education, regardless of place of residence.
GEF DO and FOP DO are the basis for the independent development of educational programs for preschool educational organizations (PEO), the mandatory part of which must correspond to 60% of the total volume of the program, and 40% is the part formed by participants in educational relations.
FOP DO contains target, content and organizational sections, educational and methodological documentation, which includes: a work program for education, an exemplary regime and routine for preschool groups, a federal calendar plan for educational work and other components. Preschool educational organizations are given the right to choose ways to implement educational activities.
The mode and daily routine are established taking into account the requirements of SanPiN 1.2.3685-21, the conditions for the implementation of the preschool program, the needs of participants in educational relations.
According to the FOP DO, the implementation of the educational program of DO is provided by managerial, pedagogical, educational and auxiliary, administrative and economic employees of the educational organization, as well as medical and other employees performing auxiliary functions. The preschool educational institution independently establishes the staffing table, hires employees, concludes and terminates employment contracts with them, distributes job responsibilities, creates conditions and organizes methodological and psychological support for teachers. The head of the organization has the right to conclude contracts of a civil law nature and perform other actions within the framework of his powers. PEO teachers have the right to receive additional professional education at least once every three years at the expense of the PEO and / or the founder.
Preschool educational organizations are switching to FOP DO from September 1, 2023.

Kindergarten life may change: experts’ concerns
At the end of September, the law “On Education” was amended: from January 1, 2023, federal educational programs will operate at all levels of education. This also applies to preschool education. This means that from the new year, the “Federal Educational Program for Preschool Education” will presumably replace the current “Exemplary Basic Educational Program for Preschool Education”, which has been peer-reviewed and approved by the decision of the Federal Educational and Methodological Association for General Education. A new draft of the federal educational program for preschool education was presented on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts for public discussion on November 3 and caused a wide resonance among experts and employees of the preschool education system.
The main objectives of the new program of preschool education are “the comprehensive development and upbringing of a child during preschool childhood based on the spiritual and moral values of the peoples of the Russian Federation, historical and national cultural traditions. ” In addition, the program introduces uniform requirements for the scope, content and results of work with children in kindergartens. The development of the new project was carried out by a working group of the Ministry of Education together with employees of the preschool education laboratory of the Institute of Developmental Physiology of the Russian Academy of Education.
The presented document will directly affect the life of kindergartens, the work of each teacher and the future of children, and therefore the experts actively joined the discussion and proposed a number of changes to the draft program.
“Members of the Our Childhood Association, which includes the authors of preschool education practices and programs, found in the draft a number of language that runs counter to the Federal State Educational Standard in the field of preschool education, which is based on the cultural and historical theory of our great compatriot L.S. Vygotsky, and data from psychological and pedagogical research” , – writes the newspaper “Vesti obrazovaniya”.
One of the experts who noted the imperfections of the proposed program was Olga Shiyan, Leading Researcher, Child Development Laboratory, Research Institute of Urban Studies and Global Education, Moscow State Pedagogical University, member of the Our Childhood association: DO – development of children’s independence and initiative creates a risk of supporting school educational formats that do not correspond to the characteristics of preschool age. In addition, the project makes it virtually impossible to use pre-school education programs such as Montessori, Reggio, Waldorf, PRODETEI, Community, Discoveries.”
Members of the Our Childhood association also note the following:
Strict fixation of the content of education violates the principles of variability and individual approach in preschool and is in conflict with the goals of the program and the provisions of the Federal State Educational Standard in the field of preschool education, such as “accounting for age and individual characteristics of children” and “development of initiative, independence and responsibility”.
According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, “the freedom to choose education in accordance with the inclinations and needs of a person” is declared. Acceptance of the proposed draft program will make such a choice difficult.
The requirement for teachers to create separate work programs for education and upbringing will increase the amount of paperwork, but will not affect the quality of interaction with children.
The concept of “developing object-spatial environment” in the document is currently only mentioned in passing, meanwhile, this is one of the most important means that shape the child’s personality, a source of knowledge and social experience.
“ According to the results of the discussion, the experts of the association “Our Childhood “ sent an official letter to the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation with a request to review the controversial provisions of the draft and make adjustments. Experts suggested paying more attention to supporting the initiative of children and building educational activities based on their individual characteristics, turning each child into a full-fledged subject of education.

What our clients have to say
I’ve been taking my pups to get groomed and to daycare at Puppy Paws for 6 years, and I have nothing but the best to say about the staff and facility. The care and love Puppy Paws provides is outstanding! The nannies love on all the dogs like they are their own pups. They are so gentle with the dogs, and take their time to groom them so that the dogs always feels comfortable. It means the world to me to not have to worry about the dogs because I know they are in the best hands; even so, they send me pictures throughout the day which always make me happy to see my pups having so much fun! My dogs love to go to Puppy Paws and will bark and whine the minute we turn down the street until they jump out of the car. I can’t even say “Puppy Paws” at home or else they get so excited!…The fact that they continue to go above and beyond for the dogs and the owners is one of the many reasons I will always come to Puppy Paws.

Travis and Puppy Paws Trainers and Nannies were life savers for my dog Jack and I. When Jack was 16 weeks old he had so many phobias which were affecting his behavior. I thought because of his behavior and size, I was going to need to find him a new home. I contacted Travis for help; him along with Puppy Paws staff have managed to train Jack into a very manageable, well behaved, sweet 90 pound puppy. Jack loves his time going to Puppy Paws socializing safely with his puppy friends. I highly recommend Travis Brorsen and Puppy Paws Hotel & Spa for training, daycare, boarding, and grooming. Very Grateful.
Kris S.
Puppy Paws truly treats my baby like family! I’ve been with Puppy Paws all the way back… I can’t imagine bringing Gypsy anywhere else. What they do is beyond words!
Michelle N.
Puppy Paws is our go-to for all things related to our furry friends- grooming, overnights, training, & even a doggie spa. BUT our new favorite thing is hiring them to come help at a wedding or event. We had them at the Boots wedding and it was a game changer. They got the dogs all groomed and ready for their photos. They helped handle them, brought them in when it was their time to shine, and then took them back and loved on them when it was time to party!
We cannot recommend them enough if you want to incorporate your animals into your special day!

I wish I had not let my fear get in the way of enrolling Hazel Rose sooner in [Puppy Paws Academy’s] 12 day training program. My sweet rescue suffered a lot of neglect and abuse before I adopted her, and she had always been timid around new people, especially men. She was also boundary oriented and it took awhile for her to get comfortable to jump in the car and go for rides. I rehabbed her slower than my other rescue boxers. My girl has been thriving since I picked her up 10 days ago. But I also love that I have a trusted place to board and drop her off at doggie daycare. Puppy Paws Hotel & Spa has changed our lives. I had no idea it could be like this. I am grateful for you and your team! Thank you.
Melissa F.
We interviewed many trainers before finding Puppy Paws Academy; what we loved most was the Positive Reinforcement as they trained our sweet Beau Britton. She was so receptive to them because of that! Beau was a hot mess on the leash. After 10 days of training, we can now walk her in the neighborhood with little to no struggle!
Beau is a big golden retriever and would be so happy to see kids, but want to jump. After 10 days of training, we had 6 little friends over and she was a completely different dog. So gentle around them and NO jumping. All our friends were amazed at the difference in her!
Shelly W.
Autumn loves coming to Puppy Paws for doggie daycare! The nannies take such great care of her. She loves them & they love her. She also loves her Friday baths.
Lisa & Piyush P.
I recently attended Puppy Paws Academy ‘play and train’ session. Travis and Keri are so good with my puppy. Every one of the staff were so kind and thoughtful. At the end of the session, my puppy had made huge improvements and learned all the commands including leash training. She would be so excited and happy when she saw we were pulling up to the facility. Daily pictures and videos were sent to me and, at the end of the 2 weeks, a report card showed how much improvement she had made. I also learned how to train myself and to make it fun and rewarding for both of us. All in all, it was great.
Terry C.
Puppy Paws Academy and Travis were a life saver for us and our one year old Goldendoodle, Enzo. As a pup, who loves everyone to a fault, we could not control his excitement when meeting new people which meant embarrassing scenes for us when he continually jumped all over our guests. It was cute as a little 10 lb pup, but when he grew to 40 lbs it was not so cute anymore. Travis worked with Enzo and after 10 days the difference was amazing. He gave us the tools we needed to continue working with Enzo at home. Travis also helped us with loose leash walking and after only 5 days I was walking Enzo instead of him walking me. The transformation was impressive and I would highly recommend Puppy Paws Academy for all your training needs.

Edmond Keosayan’s directorial talent became apparent even at the institute: in 1962, his term paper “Ladder” won the Grand Prix of the International Film Festival in Monte Carlo. In 1963, the second student work, “Three Hours of the Road”, was noted in Cannes. It was after receiving prestigious foreign film awards that Keosayan was offered to make an adventure film for the 50th anniversary of the revolution based on the story of Pavel Blyakhin “The Red Devils”. Previously, this story was filmed in 1923 directed by Ivan Perestiani.
So, we are watching three films by Edmond Gareginovich Keosayan.

Vadim Kozhevnikov, the author of the famous novel “The Shield and the Sword”, is the second student work of Edmond Keosayan. In 1963, in Cannes, the picture was awarded the Grand Prix for the best debut. The main role in the film was played by Mikhail Ulyanov.
Arctic. Winter. Forty degree frost. From the construction site of the drilling rig, a sleigh train travels to the village: a tractor pulls a trailer across the snow-covered tundra. A blizzard, running out of fuel, a train going off the track… The wife of Yevgeny Ivanovich, the head of construction, recently died, leaving a teenage son. Everyone experiences the death of a loved one in their own way, and the common loss brings father and son closer.

Edmond Keosayan’s film about the adventures of four teenagers during the Civil War was released on April 29, 1967. The success of the film was colossal: The Elusives turned out to be the first Russian western and in the year of the premiere they became the leaders of the box office, attracting 54. 5 million viewers. This triumph prompted the creators to shoot a sequel. So, a year later, “New Adventures of the Elusive” was released, and in 1970, the film “The Crown of the Russian Empire, or Elusive Again” appeared on the big screens.
And the Cossack is mishandled!

Still from the film The Crown of the Russian Empire, or Elusive Again (1971)
The last film in the trilogy about young fighters against the White Guard and bandits.
This time, the elusive ones – Valerka, Danka, Yashka and Ksanka – go in search of the Great Imperial Crown, stolen from the Hermitage.
According to the plan of the thieves, among whom are the longtime opponents of the Avengers – Ataman Burnash, Staff Captain Ovechkin, Colonel Kudasov and Kudasov’s adjutant Lieutenant Perov, the crown is necessary for the coronation of the new emperor in émigré Parisian circles. However, the real goal, which only the organizer of the scam, the prudent adventurer Monsieur Duc, knows about, is to sell the crown to America and accuse the Bolsheviks of failing to preserve the people’s property. Despite all the intrigues, the Avengers destroy Monsieur Duke’s plans and return the crown to the museum.
