We, the development team, make Leroy Merlin corporate services. And we have one advantage that few developers can boast of: each employee of the company has a phone where it all starts.
That is, we can be sure that if tomorrow there is a release of the inventory application, then all users will receive it. And they can use it instantly.
I want to talk about this ecosystem of applications and what employees do with them in the store and in the office. This is what the phone screen looks like:
As you can see, here corporate applications coexist with social networks, Telegram and other “household” set. We encourage the use of instant messengers and social networks from corporate devices. As a matter of principle, we do not track users and do not access their data (the French privacy policy in MDM is approximately at the GDPR level).
According to our observations, when an employee has a working Telegram and VKontakte on his phone, he begins to use the applications that he needs for work more efficiently. nine0005
How did it all begin?
In 2017, we tested the introduction of smartphones for each employee at three stores. These were the most basic applications and web versions of the main data from the portal.
In 2018, there was a rollout to all Leroy Merlin stores. This is a project in which each employee was given a phone with basic applications.
The customer’s retail application was installed first: the customer went to the store with it and used it to show salespeople and consultants what he wanted. Sometimes the employee did not know how to quickly view a particular product on the site. With the application, it became possible to quickly navigate. nine0005
The second application was with support contacts: you click on the icon, the phone pops up, where to call in what situation.
What is the current set?
Survey application. This is an implementation of direct democracy: sometimes we need to interview each employee in order to make some kind of decision. For example, what is better – a full, but not very large set of social guarantees with compensation for the gym, or an incomplete one, but with the ability to choose one or two areas where to invest funds from unused opportunities, etc. For example, to arrange VHI for children, abandoning the gym and so on. nine0005
Merchant’s retail application. There is no product training that is not out of date in a month. A client comes and asks. The seller can get an aggregate from the product data (where, how much, for example, location in a warehouse, on a showcase, in a drive) and can accurately answer.
The application allows you to view the availability, characteristics, price of the goods, including the purchase price, the availability of goods in a nearby store, issue a sales document on the same day. You can view the supply plan, sales history, create a transfer from the warehouse to the trading floor. You can calculate the number of items. nine0005
Creating movement while standing right in front of a shelf is priceless:
Whatsapp. It was decided that fighting against messengers is not only useless, but also harmful. As a result, now employees communicate through it with relatives and friends and at the same time very quickly receive data on the store, any operational information and mailings from the HR team. Groups were created in stores by departments. There, current issues are promptly discussed – for example, “special filing is delayed”, someone asks where to get which document, and so on. Someone does it in Telegram, someone from the WhatsApp walkie-talkie, when it is inconvenient to type. All this helps a lot at work. nine0005
Training and knowledge base – you can search for any information.
Mini inventory (inventory validity). A higher-level system generates a list of goods with anomalies (for example, they are listed, but have not been sold for quite some time), and then one of the employees is assigned the task of investigating the incident. Or if the stock of goods went into the negative – you need to figure out what happened. The employee goes to take into account the goods, and the phone can be used immediately as a barcode scanner (I had to climb to the low level of working with the camera in the application to make it work really fast). nine0005
Large inventory and inventory adjustment:
Large inventory is carried out in autumn, once a year. Last year, TSDs were used in parallel – pieces of iron with a distant laser scan:
But they have a limited area of \u200b\u200buse, so several stores (three points of test operation) also used phones. The next big inventory will be with phones in all stores. nine0005
Social networks. They help improve the computer literacy of users. When a person confidently understands how to communicate with relatives through the VKontakte application, he will receive a certain background of pressing different buttons, controlling different interface elements, and so on. It is clear that the office does not need it, but in stores the level of ownership of a corporate phone is sharply increasing.
Any department can make a mobile interface for their tasks:
This is how you can find a person on the portal.
Or see the status.
Or calculate the repair in front of the customer.
Payment for lunch from a corporate card. You can keep track of your expenses.
Mystery shopper test results.
What happened next?
In addition to the access point to the company’s services, we also got the opportunity to instantly inform employees. We thought that it would be centralized, but it turned out to be even more interesting. nine0005
The employee joins the store group in the messenger and is always aware of what is happening in the store. In the topic of new collections and products. It’s a free learning opportunity because they see each other’s questions and answers. See what questions customers will ask at the meeting.
Many shops hold product masterclasses, and they go live on Instagram. Any client can watch how a birdhouse, a cat house or an analog liquid computer is assembled from sewer pipes (in fact, they have not yet reached this point). And their own employees join such broadcasts for training. nine0005
Phones help update the store’s social networks: employees show what interesting things have appeared in the store right now.
In general, in addition to the obvious results in the spirit of “everyone has access to IT services”, we got a lot of unobvious good things.
It started with the fact that we have many employees without computers who go shopping and touch the goods. It was quite difficult to come up with a mobile terminal for them for every occasion, so we gave everyone corporate smartphones as jobs. And now I say with confidence: they have become truly mobile jobs. And not only. nine0005

The foundation of ROSCHAT is a secure information exchange system. All information is hosted on the organization’s server. Data exchange takes place via secure communication channels, content is protected during storage and exchange – this guarantees a high level of information security.
nine0005
An account in the organization’s information system acts as a single subscriber identifier for its search and all types of communication. Nowhere is it required to indicate a mobile number – this prevents possible leakage of both personal data and the corporate telephone directory.
The application server is running Cent OS, an industrial version of Linux OS. Clients on mobile devices running iOS or Android, as well as Desktop clients on Windows and Linux, connect to it via a local network or via the Internet. Adding new users requires a minimum of effort from the Administrator – it is enough to distribute licenses, and employees receive email messages with a link to download the application from the ApsStore/GooglePlay store and a setup barcode.

I hope you have read my previous reviews on MLS clubs and their work with fans. If not, here are some links: New York City FC, Atlanta United, Seattle Sounders. From these reviews, it is clear that the league members act in the same vein and events are organized according to approximately the same template. Therefore, in today’s review, I will try to diversify the format a little. Let’s compare two clubs from the famous Californian city of Los Angeles – Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles FC. nine0003 Round 1. History of the club.Galaxy was one of 10 clubs that participated in the first season of MLS in 1996. The only club that has not changed its name since then. Five-time league champion. One of only two clubs in the US to have won the CONCACAF Champions League (similar to the European Champions League). FC Los Angeles has been playing in the MLS since 2018, in 2019 they took their first trophy – the Supporters Shield, which is awarded for the most points in the regular season (Galaxy has 4 such cups). nine0003 Thus, the score is 1:0 in favor of Galaxy. Round 2. Stadium and attendance.Galaxy Stadium, located in Carson, 16 kilometers from Los Angeles itself, is marked in red on the diagram. It was built in 2003 and can accommodate 27,000 spectators. Club attendance in 2019 – 23205 spectators (86% occupancy). Banc of California Stadium, where FC Los Angeles hosts opponents, is marked in yellow. The stadium is brand new, built in 2018 (due to construction delays, the entry of the club itself into the MLS was delayed), it can accommodate 22,000 spectators and was filled on average by 95% (20951 viewers). The stadium is located more conveniently than its competitors and closer to the city center, although the very concept of “center” is rather vague in Los Angeles and without a car you still won’t get anywhere comfortably. However, the score becomes equal – 1:1. Round 3. Work with fans. Here the criteria for evaluation are more subjective. I decided to compare club websites, fan events and social media followers. Galaxy will be the first. nine0003 Very cool initiative during the pandemic. The club website contains a list of shops, cafes, restaurants and other things, which are divided into categories: club partners, recommendations from fans, recommendations from club players and establishments that are owned by Galaxy fans. Contact details for ordering delivery. The club is also involved in a series of charity initiatives and fundraising for those affected during the quarantine. Donations for food, support for doctors, charity FIFA tournaments, an auction where you can win an autographed Chicharito T-shirt are organized. At the moment he is the main star of the club. nine0003 During the forced pause, the club pages showcase the team’s best matches and victorious finals. Also, significant moments of the club’s history are presented in the form of a comic book and it looks something like this: This season, for the most ardent fans, the grandstand behind the goal, which is called the Victoria Block, was re-equipped. The seats there are now standing, and additional bars have been organized next to the podium. A small promotional video shows the atmosphere:
The club cooperates with 11 elementary schools within the framework of the Champions project, which are located within a radius of 5 miles from the stadium. About 5,000 children annually participate in various activities related to football in one way or another, both at school and at the stadium itself, along with Galaxy players and coaches. The most active participants will be marked at pregame shows. Moving on to Los Angeles Football Club. The main page of the site is filled to the limit with high-quality video content – a question-answer with a Wright-Phillips club player, a review of the best matches of past years (by the way, there is a good idea here: they show not a full match, but a compressed 30-minute version), reviews of battles in electronic football from EA Sports, commercials calling to stay at home and save your own and others’ lives. And this is not surprising, because one of the sponsors of the club is Youtube, the site’s logo is presented on the game T-shirts right on the chest. nine0003 Before the match, a special fan zone awaits all fans with entertainment, games, DJ and alcoholic drinks: After warming up, the fans go to one of the stands of their brand new stadium. For example, standing places like these: Naturally, the club is not limited only to the day of the match – work with the local community is ongoing. If the Galaxy targeted elementary schools, then Los Angeles focuses on high school students, and those who are at risk. The Young Leader program has been organized for them, within the framework of which a young person receives a mentor from the club’s employees, the opportunity to train under the guidance of specialists, and even the opportunity to receive a paid internship from FC partners. nine0003 In general, both clubs are equal here. And the winner will be determined by the number of subscribers in social networks. Baby drooling lots: Drooling and Your Baby – HealthyChildren.orgTeething 101: Symptoms & SoothingAs a new mom in the trenches of motherhood, it can feel kind of like you’re in a weird mommy time warp. I remember the first weeks of motherhood were a never-ending blur of feedings, spit up, pee, poop, tubes of Boudreaux’s Butt Paste®, diaper changes, crying, rocking and repeating. I felt an enormous sense of accomplishment if I brushed my teeth or took a shower. I was still putting orange juice in the cabinet and juice glasses in the fridge with a baby monitor in-hand at all times, but hey, I was doing it—I was being a mom! A few months later we were “in the zone” and that’s about the time my son started teething. He wasn’t acting like his usual bubbly self. His appetite decreased, he wasn’t sleeping well and he was really grumpy. I assumed my irritable little guy was coming down with a cold, but he wasn’t. He was teething. In my mommy mind, I thought it was way too soon for teething, but when I looked inside his mouth I could see the buds. His pearly whites were making their entrance. Why so chewy and drool-y? Babies tend to act a lot like puppies during the teething phase–they drool and gnaw on everything in sight. Think of chewing as a satisfying feeling because it helps to numb the teething pain. Pressing down on sore gums counteracts the pain of the teeth pushing up. The excess chewing stimulates the salivary glands, so that’s why teething babies may drool a lot. The drawback of drooling is that it can cause irritation around the mouth and chin. This is when bibs come in handy, and you may need to change shirts more often to keep him dry. The diarrhea debate Some parents see a pattern of symptoms when teething begins that includes diarrhea and diaper rash. As we just mentioned, babies tend to drool a lot during this phase. It could be that your baby is swallowing excess drool during teething that causes mild stomach irritation. This can trigger diarrhea and since diarrhea is moist and acidic, it can irritate baby’s delicate skin. Diaper rash duty Whether your baby develops a mild case of diarrhea from swallowing drool or from putting germy objects in her mouth to chew on, keep an eye on her diaper area during teething. The best way to keep diaper rash at bay is to use Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® during every diaper change. Let her skin dry completely after you clean her up and then apply Boudreax’s® liberally. This protective layer will keep her skin dry and her cheeks happy while she works on cutting her pearly whites. Pain reliever Teething can make your baby feel lousy, so products like Little Remedies® Fever & Pain Reliever can help to ease discomfort safely and quickly. The active ingredient is Acetaminophen, which lowers fevers and relieves pain. Little Remedies® products don’t contain artificial flavors or artificial dyes, high fructose corn syrup, aspirin or ibuprofen. Depending on your baby’s weight, choose the appropriate Little Remedies® Fever & Pain Reliever product. The Little Remedies® Infant Fever & Pain Reliever is for babies 24 pounds or less. If your baby is bigger, you can use Little Remedies® Children’s Fever & Pain Reliever. Plus, the AccuSafe® syringe makes dosing easy. Teethers Teethers are designed to provide relief for sore gums, so if baby is going to put something in her mouth, it may as well be therapeutic. There are tons of popular teethers to choose from like BPA-free, natural rubber teethers, teethers with gum massagers and natural wood teethers. You may have to try a few to find one your baby likes. For babies 6 months and older who are having trouble eating, you can find mesh teethers that hold frozen fruit, so she gets digestible nutrition and cool relief at the same time. Tips about teething Just like every other stage of baby development, teething doesn’t last forever. Here are some helpful facts to keep in mind, so you know what to expect:
What helped you survive your baby’s teething? Share your tips for teething babies with other moms on our Facebook page! Is My Baby Teething? Here’s How to TellALPHARETTA, GA – Your baby has been all smiles and giggles, cooing with you and grabbing at her toes. Lately, though, your happy-go-lucky bundle of joy is acting differently. Could she be teething? Baby teething generally starts when babies are about 6 months old, but every baby is different. Some babies don’t cut their first teeth until they’re a year old, and other babies begin the teething process when they’re as young as 3 months. Do you suspect your baby’s teething? Here are some common teething symptoms. Your baby’s drooling a lot. When your baby starts teething, you’ll notice increased amounts of saliva in her mouth. The saliva increase may even cause a rash on your baby’s chest, chin, or hands, i.e., any place where drool comes in contact with the baby’s skin. The drool plays a helpful part in the teething process, as it helps cool swollen gums to soothe your little one. Don’t be surprised if your baby soaks his outfit with saliva – pack extra outfits in your diaper bag during the teething phase. The extra saliva during teething may cause your baby’s mouth to fill up with spit. This can make your baby gag or cough, which is totally normal. She will learn to deal with these symptoms of teething. Your baby is chewing on fingers or toys. Some teething babies like to bite down on toys or their own fingers to help soothe teething pain. Teething discomfort may cause your baby to be more aware of her mouth, and as she grows, she’ll be more likely to put objects in her mouth. Babies have an oral fixation and for good reason. The rooting reflex helps babies move their mouths in a circular motion toward anything that touches their cheeks. This helps them find the nipple that will sustain them and help them grow. But now, as your baby hones her motor skills, she is likely to chew on a fist or on her fingers when she’s teething. Keep her hands clean, and make sure she doesn’t choke or gag on fingers or teething rings. Your baby is whiny or fussy.Baby teething is not always a pleasant experience. It’s even more difficult that although we can explain to our babies why their mouths are uncomfortable, they can’t actually understand us. This can cause frustration for babies and for parents. If you notice your baby starting to whine or cry more often — anywhere from the 3-month mark on — it’s possible that your baby is beginning to teeth. Not all babies are fussy because of teething. Your baby may cut teeth without so much as a whimper. But other babies may be more affected by the discomfort of cutting teeth. Be patient with your baby if he’s extra fussy during this period. It’s common, too, for teething babies to be fussy during feeding times, whether they nurse or are bottle-fed. The stimulation of eating may irritate their sore gums. Be patient with your baby, and watch for her cues. If you can learn what makes your baby upset, you can work together to find a solution. Your baby is not sleeping well.He may have trouble sleeping during the night or during nap time when before teething he slept deeply. Don’t worry; it’s likely that once his teeth break through, he will return to is normal sleep patterns. While it may seem otherwise, teething is a relatively short process in your baby’s life. Soon this discomfort will bloom into beautiful, strong teeth, which will allow your baby to eat solid foods and grow even stronger. Baby teething is a blessed rite of passage that each child goes through and there are many ways you can ease the process of teething. Soon you’ll enjoy your baby’s new toothy smile. Irritation from saliva in a childBabies explore the world around them with all five senses. For a child, exploration often involves using the mouth, and that can mean a lot of saliva. And where there is saliva, a rash often appears. Why do babies drool?Salivation begins around 3 to 6 months of age, when babies become “mouth oriented”. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) notes that salivation performs some important functions, including:
A child’s saliva also transmits information about his health. When a baby is breastfed, bacteria and other microbes in the baby’s saliva interact with the mother’s mammary glands, affecting the composition of breast milk. For example, if a child is sick, the milk may change in response, containing more of the antibodies needed to overcome the illness. Why does saliva cause irritation?Saliva irritation can occur when a child produces excess saliva that irritates the skin around the mouth. The most commonly affected areas are the lips, chin, and cheeks, although the neck and chest can be affected if saliva is left in contact with these areas for a long time. You may notice red, inflamed skin or small red bumps where there is irritation from saliva. In some cases, the rash may be caused by teething. The AAP explains that increased salivation during teething can help protect and soothe baby’s tender gums. However, in most cases, saliva irritation has no specific cause and is simply the result of the baby’s saliva production. There is nothing wrong. Babies who use a pacifier may develop irritation because the skin around the pacifier is constantly moist. Leftover breast milk or formula left in a baby’s mouth for a long period of time can also irritate the skin and lead to a rash. How to avoid irritation from saliva? In cases where the rash is caused by something temporary, such as teething, the good news is that this stage will not last forever. When the baby has teeth and he learns other ways of knowing the world, the amount of saliva will decrease. If you know your baby is teething, you can be prepared to increase salivation and prevent a rash before it starts to bother your baby. Creating a barrier between the baby’s skin and saliva will help prevent or minimize salivation. Here are a few solutions worth trying.
How to treat irritation from saliva? In addition to the above preventive measures, follow these tips for faster healing:
When should I see a doctor?Although drooling is generally normal in infants, there are several situations that may be cause for concern. If your child is suddenly drooling and has other symptoms such as lethargy, difficulty swallowing or breathing, or jerky movements, call the doctor. A child who suddenly drools, opens his mouth wide, and has difficulty breathing may choke on a foreign object. Increased salivation in a child can also be a sign of an infection. If your baby seems unusually fidgety or irritable, sleeps poorly, has a poor appetite or fever, or swollen lymph nodes, you should also see a doctor. Subscribe to Vikids news at Registration

Cough is a sudden release of air from the respiratory tract, a natural reflex and a protective reaction to the action of irritating factors. It helps to free the airways from foreign objects, mucus, microorganisms. In most cases, a cough in a child is a symptom of some pathological processes occurring in the body, and this logically makes parents worried. There are many types of cough, and in this article we will give their characteristics – this will help parents better navigate and understand in which cases a thorough diagnosis is required, and in which cases it is possible to observe his child’s condition without serious concern. Types of cough in a childFirst of all, it should be divided into natural and pathological. Natural cough – reflex clearing of the upper respiratory tract from external (dust) or internal (mucus) irritants. It appears mainly in the morning, it is not paroxysmal, does not cause discomfort to the child – it is rather a cough. Rare episodes of coughing can also occur in a healthy child, for example, during sleep due to the accumulation of mucous discharge in the larynx. A natural cough can occur with a sharp change in air temperature, for example, when moving into a warm room from a frost. In infants, a reflex reaction may occur when saliva or mother’s milk gets “in the wrong throat”; at night, coughing can be triggered by increased saliva production due to teething. A pathological cough is a symptom of a disease. It has many subspecies:
Methods of treatmentThe doctor needs to determine what kind of pathology in question and treat the identified root cause of the disease. Only an experienced ENT doctor and in the presence of diagnostic equipment can correctly assess the condition of the child. To make a diagnosis, you may need: blood tests, laboratory diagnostics (allergological, bronchodilation and bronchoprovocation tests, sputum examination), X-ray and CT scan of the chest. The choice of therapy depends on the nature of the disease. Among the drugs prescribed: antitussive, expectorant, mucolytic, enveloping, antihistamines. Well proven in the treatment of physiotherapy:

plan to return the historical name – New York. Where does it come from in the Donbass, and what do the Germans have to do with it? nine0005

Tatyana Krasko of the Council of Novgorodsky in response to a question from a DW correspondent why the front-line settlement needs an American name. It was more than two years ago, when journalists came to Novgorodskoye due to another aggravation at the front, and few people knew about the plans to return the historical name to the village in Ukraine. nine0005
In fact, says Krasko, such an idea appeared back in 2016 – after the adoption of the law on decommunization in Ukraine. However, the neutral Soviet name of the village was not subject to decommunization, and the process dragged on. The point in it has not been set so far. Although the return of the historical name to the village was supported by its inhabitants, and in early February – by the parliamentary committee on the organization of state power, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada have the final say.
Tatyana Krasko Photo: Mykola Berdnyk/DW
At the same time, Tatyana Krasko emphasizes, this is not just about renaming, but about returning the historical name. After all, the industrial Donbass town was called New York until 1951. “New York, Stalin region” – can still be read in the documents of the elderly residents of the village.
How did New York appear in Donbass?
Despite the American name, New York was founded by non-Americans. Recently, a version has spread that the settlement in 1892 year was created by German colonists – adherents of the Protestant movement of Mennonites, who settled in Ukraine at the invitation of Catherine II in the XVIII century. And the settlement was named New York because the wife of one of the founders was from America and missed her homeland. According to another legend, the Germans hoped that the village would develop as dynamically as its overseas namesake.
But the reality is a bit more complicated, says Viktoria Shoru, who researches the history of the village and maintains the Facebook page “Ukrainian New York: History” (Ukrainian New York: History – Rev. ). According to her, at the end of the 18th century, on the site of modern Novgorodsky, there was a small village of Aleksandrovskoye, which belonged to the landowners Fursov.
This is what Donbass New York looks like now Photo: Mykola Berdnyk/DW
In the sources of the middle of the 19th century Aleksandrovskoye is already mentioned as “the village of New York”. Why the landowners who owned it chose such an exotic name is unknown. “One of the Fursovs was engaged in shipbuilding and, perhaps, he himself visited America, and she impressed him,” says Victoria Shoru. “Or maybe just because it was more interesting for them.” nine0005
At the end of the 19th century, the land of the village became the property of other landowners, the researcher says, and they, in turn, sold it to German colonists from the south of Ukraine. Hard-working Protestant Germans built several steam mills using the latest technology of the time, developed the production of bricks and agricultural machinery. There were schools and a bookstore in New York, a bank, a hotel and a post office with a telephone exchange worked, says Victoria Shoru.
However, after the revolution 1917 years, many Germans left New York, and those who remained, after the outbreak of World War II, the Soviet authorities deported to Central Asia – as “unreliable”. And when the Cold War began, the village was deprived of its “enemy” name: in 1951, the Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR renamed New York into Novgorodskoye.
Ukrainian New York in anticipation of tourists
“Renaming will restore historical justice,” says Tatyana Krasko, secretary of the village council of Novgorodsky. However, from the fact that the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada will return the original name selected by their Soviet predecessors, local authorities and activists expect practical benefits for their village. They hope that tourists will come to New York. nine0005 German tombstones at Novgorodsky cemetery Photo: Mykola Berdnyk/DW
After all, although there is no longer a German community in Novgorodsky, and those descendants of the Mennonites who still live in the village have forgotten the language and culture of their ancestors, the German past is still reminded here Historical buildings and tombstones with inscriptions in German at the local cemetery are not at all typical for Donbass.
Among the architectural sights of the city are Peter Dik’s steam mill and Aaron Thyssen’s shop built at the beginning of the 20th century. The building of the store, which had been in disrepair for a long time, was bought and renovated by the community a few years ago – grants from international organizations helped. nine0005
In the spring, the “Ukrainian New York” Historical and Cultural Center is to open in the former store. This center, which the locals call a “hub”, will be something like a local history museum and at the same time a place for public initiatives.
Shop, built by the Germans, in which the historical and cultural center “Ukrainian New York” was created – before renovation Photo: Mykola Berdnyk/DW
In addition, a gas station at the entrance to the village and a pizzeria were called “New York” in Novgorodsky. now, even before the official renaming, it adds some color to the everyday life of a depressive Donbass village.0005
New York in the Donbass under the fire of the “DPR”
Today, about 12 thousand people live in Novgorodsky. There is a phenol plant here, which employs about 600 residents of the village, as well as three schools and a boarding school for children with special educational needs. Among the town’s problems are unemployment, bad roads, isolation from transport and interruptions in water supply. In the summer of 2019, residents of Novgorodsky survived for months without water, and the village was on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.
However, in addition to problems, there are also achievements, says Tatyana Krasko. In recent years, with the support of international organizations, a police station has been equipped in the village, video surveillance cameras and solar-powered lighting have been installed on the streets, and the Big House of Generations has been created – a club for children and elderly residents of the village.

True, international organizations are powerless against the main problem of Donbass New York – war. The front line passes almost immediately behind the village, and from the positions of the Ukrainian army near Novgorod, even without binoculars, the outskirts of Horlivka, captured by Russian-controlled militants, can be seen. And although the Novgorodians themselves managed to avoid the occupation, they fully felt the horrors of the war.

Types and types of ramps for wheelchairs and prams – pandus.su – Useful information
A ramp is an inclined platform that connects two surfaces of different heights. It is designed for lowering and lifting wheelchairs and baby carriages, as well as other small-sized wheeled vehicles. Ramps help people with limited mobility overcome flights of stairs, steps, high thresholds and other barriers that most people do not notice. The groups with limited mobility include not only the disabled and parents with prams, but also the elderly, pregnant women and those who suffer from diseases of the musculoskeletal system that limit the ability to move.
Ramps are installed in residential buildings, public and industrial buildings. According to the letter of the law, they should be in all public spaces in order to provide access for people with limited mobility to socially significant objects. There are exceptions when it is technically impossible to install a ramp, and then the entrance must be equipped with a call button or an elevator. But in most cases, if there is a ladder, you can also choose a suitable type of ramp.
Types of ramps by type of construction
- Stationary.
- Folding.
- Removable.
Fixed ramps
Fixed ramps designed for continuous use. They are installed near the entrances to residential buildings, as well as clinics, pharmacies, schools, shops and entertainment centers. Modern building standards and norms initially provide for the presence of stationary ramps, so designing a hospital or a shopping center without a ramp is possible only in violation of SNiP.
Stationary ramps duplicate stairs. As a rule, they are several inclined surfaces with turntables between them. Handrails must be installed along the ramp. The height and design depend on the total lifting height: it is important to maintain a safe angle of inclination for the descent and ascent of the surface, therefore, along with the lifting height, the number of ramp spans also increases.
Folding ramps
This version of ramps has a folding mechanism. As a rule, such structures are mounted where it is impossible to install a stationary ramp. There may simply be no place for it: for example, if we are talking about a flight between floors of residential apartment buildings or private houses. Thanks to the lifting mechanism, the ramp can be unfolded (then it closes the flight of stairs), and then folded, freeing the stairs.
Visually, the folding ramp resembles a platform or rails. On one side, it is securely attached to a handrail or wall. For fastening, special locks or construction loops are used. The second side of the ramp remains free, so the structure can be freely raised and lowered as needed. When you need to use the ramp, the lock is opened, the platform is lowered to the march. Then it is lifted again and fixed with a lock against the wall.
Removable or portable ramps
These are foldable, mobile structures that are easy to set up and take down. The removable ramp weighs a little, when folded it is compact, so portable structures can be transported from place to place. To reduce weight, manufacturers make mobile ramps from lightweight alloys of steel and aluminum. There are several types of removable ramps, which are structurally significantly different from each other.
Types of removable ramps
- Ramp.
- Roll.
- Telescopic.
Ramp is a ramp for crossing the threshold. By definition, it is not high, because it is not designed for steps. Ramps are used by disabled people and parents with small children: it allows you to painlessly overcome low obstacles. It is not always possible to carry a stroller over a curb or threshold – this is where this type of removable ramp comes to the rescue. The ramp is easy to install and dismantle, made from a combination of rubber and metal.
The maximum barrier height for which a ramp is suitable is 15 cm. The design is usually wedge-shaped and has a fixed height and width. If the obstacle looks like a ledge, the ramp will have to be installed on both sides.
Roll is a high-tech design of a large number of transverse sections connected using special fasteners. Sections can be detached and added by adjusting the dimensions of the ramp. This category of ramps deserves its name because it looks like a roll when folded. They are convenient to carry in the trunk of a car, and thanks to the removable sections, the design is easily adjusted to different heights of obstacles. Despite their compactness and small size, rolls have many advantages:
- increased load capacity;
- high strength;
- light weight.
This category of sliding ramps uses the telescopic extension principle. Thanks to this, when assembled, the structure seems small, it is convenient to transport it, but moving apart, this type of ramp increases more than twice. Visually, the telescopic design looks like two parallel ramps.
The ramp must have anti-slip surfaces: this is an important condition, because without it there is a risk of wheelchair slipping. Also, without an anti-slip surface, there is a possibility that the descent will be too fast and dangerous for the disabled.
Where are telescopic ramps useful?
- Public transport.
- When crossing parapets.
- When climbing stairs.
Ramps design
Ramps come in one of two types of construction: platform or rails. The rails are two parallel sections. As a rule, they are made of metal. For example, all the advantages of rolls are achieved through aircraft-grade aluminum – a light but heavy-duty alloy. An anti-slip coating is applied to the metal. Mobile folding ramps most often have a design in the form of rails.
But stationary ramps in most cases are platforms: inclined platforms with a width of 60 cm to 2.5 m. However, portable ramps can also be a platform: the ramp usually has just such a design. Platforms are made from either aluminum or steel, while stationary ramps can be concrete. Of particular note are the “books” – small ramps of two sections that fold like a suitcase or book. These “books” are convenient to carry with you.
Technical requirements for ramps for the disabled
Since ramps are designed for the descent and ascent of people with limited mobility, building standards and regulations impose strict requirements on their design. Violation of these requirements leads to the fact that the ramp becomes impossible to use for its intended purpose. Descending or ascending such a ramp can be potentially dangerous for wheelchair users.
One of the main conditions is the angle of inclination of the march. The ramp may consist of several marches, between which there will be turntables. The number of marches and platforms depends on the height of the ascent or descent and is dictated, among other things, by the need to maintain a safe slope. It ranges from 8 to 15%. Why is this parameter measured as a percentage? Percentages reflect the ratio of the total length of the horizontal plane and the height to which you need to climb.
In most cases, the maximum allowable ramp angle will be 8%, but if the ramp length does not exceed 20 cm, you can increase the angle by another 2%. If the angle becomes larger as the length of the ramp increases, it will not be safe to go up and down. Other important technical requirements:
- The lifting height of one march is not more than 800 mm.
- Horizontal length of descent – 9 m.
- Width – 150 to 200 cm.
Site requirements
Each ramp is provided with an entrance and an upper platform, and, if necessary, intermediate ones. The width of the platform cannot be less than 185 cm, the size of the turnaround area is 220 cm. If the doors open inward, the depth of the platform is 140 cm, and if the doors open outward, it is 150 cm. When installing outward-opening doors, it is important to take into account the ability to maneuver on the platform. To meet this condition, the depth can be increased.
If the structure is installed outdoors, frost must be avoided. Therefore, the base material is covered with an anti-slip layer. Also, this problem can be solved by a canopy or heating. The width of the intermediate platform cannot be less than the tracks leading to it.
Guardrail
Any side of the ramp that is not adjacent to a wall must be guarded. Single or paired handrails, railings are required. Their height is 700 and 900 mm from the ramp floor. The railing should form a solid line at one distance from the surface. At the end of the lower march, they should protrude by 30 cm. The material of the handrails must also be protected from icing. Railings must be strong, reliable, resistant to side loads.
It is important to remember that people will hold on to the railing when going up and down. The movement on the ramp can be either one-way or two-way. With a two-way direction of movement, a person will be able to take hold of the handrail only on one side, so the angle of inclination of the span is reduced to 6%. However, you can install an additional handrail in the middle of a wide span.
In addition, the edges of the ramps are equipped with a special edge up to 5 cm. Its task is to prevent the wheels from slipping. Since ramps belong to structures that create a barrier-free environment for people with limited mobility, and the freedom of movement of citizens often depends on them, only companies that have been officially accredited have the right to manufacture and install ramps.

Average salary of consultant: Management Consultant Salary Report | 2023 Consultant Salary
Why Consulting Salaries Aren’t That Good
worldwaterweek/Flickr
For young people fresh out of college, there’s nothing quite like the promise of a consulting salary.
Land a gig at one of the major firms and you can easily make upward of $60,000 in your first year. A lucky few even break into six figures. But considering the grueling hours that most entry-level consultants work, is that money really all it’s cracked up to be?
We ran the numbers on what first-year consultants actually make based on how many hours they can expect to work. The results might surprise you.
Let’s start with salaries. First-year consultants with a Bachelor’s degree at most major firms (often referred to as “associate consultants”) can typically expect to earn between $60,000 and $90,000. For a select number of firms, the salary can approach $100,000. This figure includes base salary, signing bonus, and relocation expenses.
Now let’s consider hours. A first-year consultant at these firms would be working 11 to 14 hours a day, for a rough schedule of 55 to 70 hours per week. That doesn’t account for the fact that most consultants travel several times a week for work, taking up more time in their already busy schedules.
At the low end, then, first-year consultants are making about $60,000 and working 55 hours a week. If you multiply that by 52 weeks a year, that converts to 2,860 annual hours. We divide the annual wages ($60,000) by the yearly hours (2,860) to get an hourly salary of $20.98, or roughly $21.
Here’s a closer look at that math:
Business Insider
An hourly salary of $21 isn’t bad, but it doesn’t sound nearly as impressive as $60,000 a year. Let’s try on the upper end, where first-year consultants make as much as $90,000. We’ll assume those at the high end of the bracket are likely working at top-tier firms that require the longest hours, averaging around 70 hours a week. Following the same formula, those 70 weekly hours convert into 3,640 yearly ones. So our elite consultants are making:
Business Insider
Again, not a bad hourly wage, but also nothing to write home about. To put these hourly figures in perspective, someone who works an average 40-hour week and makes $21 an hour would be earning an annual salary of just under $44,000. Someone working a 40-hour week and making $25 an hour would earn $52,000 a year.
The bottom line: First-year consultants can certainly earn a tremendous amount of money with nothing more than a Bachelor’s degree in hand. But the staggering sums that big firms advertise aren’t really what they seem. On an hourly basis, consulting salaries aren’t all that different from those of other middle-class jobs — they’re just adjusted to account for the tremendous number of hours these employees will put in.

Rating of enterprises and professions by income level
The issue of average wages is not an easy one. You should always get acquainted with information about him carefully and not let yourself be deceived and reassured.
To clarify, let’s take an example of calculating the average salary: one hairdresser in Cologne earns 22,000€ per year, his colleague – 25,000€, competitor – 26,000€. The fourth, who has just received a secondary specialized education and started working, is 18,000 €. And the fifth, a top hairdresser who works with celebrities and wealthy people, costs €146,000 per year. Therefore, the average salary of a hairdresser in Cologne will be 47,400€, which is well above the income of the first four hairdressers given in the example. nine0003
According to the Federal Statistical Office (Statistische Bundesamt), only a third of professionals receive above-average salaries. Two-thirds, respectively, lower. Therefore, when reading information about the average salary for your specialty in the region where you are going to work, you need to understand that with a high probability you will receive a smaller amount.
What factors affect the salary?
The size of your income, as well as the figure of the average salary, is influenced by many factors, ranging from geographical to personal. nine0003

In Germany, where you work is important. In the eastern states, which were once part of the GDR, wages are lower than in the western states of the FRG. So, for example, in Munich you will earn more than in Leipzig.
-
Company size
Private company or large group – this also matters in payroll. In a small company with fewer than 100 employees, the salary will be about 20% lower than in a large company with more than 1,000 employees. In addition, a large enterprise promises more benefits in the form of bonuses, paid courses, and so on. nine0003
-
Industry
The amount of remuneration is also affected by the industry in which you work in your specialty. For example, it is most profitable for computer scientists to work in the field of mechanical engineering or in a concern for the production of vehicles, as well as in banks and in the field of consulting.
-
Education and experience
Whether you just completed a bachelor’s degree, completed a master’s degree or have a diploma, studied at a university or a high school (Fachhochschule), whether you have work experience or not – all this also plays a big role when discussing your income on future work. nine0003
