Why different matters
Kids are incredibly different
Kids aren’t just mini adults. We know how different they are, and that changes everything about how we treat them, from their growing bodies to their developing minds.
Partnering with you
Parents and caregivers know their child best, which is why you are the most important member of your child’s care team.
Experience beyond compare
Because we see more and treat more children than any other hospital in the region, our unparalleled care leads to outcomes among the best in the country.
Complete, convenient care
We understand that time is of the essence when your little one is sick. Instead of numerous appointments with different doctors, we coordinate your child’s appointments with all our specialists in one day.
You’re in the right place
Red wagons in our halls, prescription pets rounding the floors and a lounge just for teens – it all helps put our patients at ease and create a supportive space just for them.

Where to go with a child in Moscow – the most interesting places sports. It opened at the end of 2019, but has already managed to establish itself as a great place to go with children and relatives in Moscow.
An alternative could be the Fantasy water park in Maryino, the Caribbean pirate water park in Petrovo-Dalny, or the cozy Kimberly Land, where babies from 2 months old can learn to swim accompanied by their parents in a special font. nine0003
Parks — Pobeda, Gorky, Sokolniki, Zaryadye are very popular. In the summer, they have attractions, you can ride roller skates, bikes, boats, in the winter you can visit the skating rink, fairs, and of course, feed the squirrels.
Kuzminki Park will delight you with the largest skate park in the capital with jumps and a street zone. For children, dance and workout classes, English lessons and theater workshops are held here. A nice bonus – during the school holidays, most classes are free. nine0003
Where to go with children if you want to introduce them to the animal world? Definitely the zoo. There are many places in Moscow where you can look at animals.
The Moscow Zoo is home to over 7,000 species of animals brought from the most distant countries and continents. Zoo keepers hold exemplary feeding, arrange ecological holidays, ride a pony and organize biological quests. There is also a playground with a children’s corner, where the child will be allowed to stroke tame animals. nine0003
Those who want more tactile practices will be interested in the Gorki Petting Zoo. In it, children will be allowed to stroke and feed rabbits, raccoons, Cameroon goats, fallow deer, and even a camel. There should be no cause for concern – the animals in the zoo are not aggressive and well-groomed. There is also a riding school in Gorki, where experienced instructors organize horseback riding for adults and children. nine0003
Mini zoo in Filevsky park
There is also a mini zoo in Filevsky park. Although there is much more entertainment here than just stroking the animals. On the territory of “Fili” there is a gaming “Mega-town”, tracks for zorbing and tubing, a rope “Panda-park” and a 5D cinema. The park regularly organizes dance, drawing and yoga classes for children, and on weekends they put on street theater performances.
You can also interact with the animals at Planet Raccoons, the Kovcheg Zoo Studio and the Russian Alpacas Farm. nine0003
Quests for children
Visiting quest rooms can be an unusual way to spend your leisure time with your child. Only with the help of such games you can get into the land of Oz and walk along the yellow brick road with the Wizard of the Emerald City, jump into the rabbit hole with Alice or get into the archery tournament with Robin Hood.
ExitGames center offers its visitors a lot of interesting pastime options. Seven unique types of reality quests for puzzle lovers, hide and seek in the dark that will require your courage, futuristic laser tag, climbing wall and this is not a complete list of activities. ExitGames also organize fun holidays and bright children’s events. nine0003
“Cubiculum” offers quest games with different scenarios and difficulty levels. They can make you a team of scammers or a group of geniuses to save the world from a nuclear catastrophe and lock you in a room until you complete the task. The activity is exciting, but recommended for children over 12 years old. So if a teenager is bored at home, take note.
Touch exposure “Walking in the dark”
Children of primary school age will be interested in Walking in the Dark. This is a sensory exhibition that takes place in the company of a blind guide. The group is taken to rooms in which familiar places are recreated: a street, an apartment, a cafe, a shop, a museum. With one exception: the walk takes place in absolute darkness – by touch. During the tour, children will learn what the world of people with visual impairments looks like. This will help instill tolerance and empathy in the child.
All children are curious in one way or another. Today there are a lot of interesting interactive museums, scientific centers where children of all ages can independently check and see various scientific phenomena, take part in an experiment or experiment, learn more about how the world around us works, the structure of man and test themselves on different devices. Which scientific and entertainment centers in Moscow are worth visiting first of all? nine0003
Parents who are especially lucky with the “pochemuchka” have a direct road to the Museum of entertaining sciences “Experimentanium”. The exhibits of the museum can not only be touched – you have to! In the format of experiments, children study the phenomena of light, sound, electricity, magnetism, explore mechanics and space, and also solve puzzles.
Bioexperimentarium
Bioexperimentarium
Similar in meaning, but unique in content, is the Bioexperimentarium Museum of Man. Professionally prepared cycles of classes provide secondary and high school students with additional knowledge in the field of botany, zoology, anatomy and genetics. You can come on your own or as a group. nine0003
KidZania is a country ruled by children. This is a park with an area of 10,000 square meters, where a child can try himself as a policeman, doctor, teacher, plumber or any other specialist. The attraction gives children an understanding of how cities are arranged, teaches independence and even gives them the opportunity to earn extra money. After all, everything here is real, only in a reduced size. It will be interesting for children of primary and secondary schools. nine0003
Moscow Planetarium
The Moscow Planetarium can rightfully be considered the best place to get acquainted with the secrets of the Universe. There are Star Halls that tell about the remote corners of space, the Urania Museum, the Theater of Entertaining Science and a 4D cinema that will put you in the center of a hurricane or the mouth of a volcano. On Saturdays there is a lecture hall on astronomy for children over 8 years old and parents. And in clear weather, you can visit the observatory of the planetarium and look through a telescope at the planets and nebulae. nine0003
If your child is inquisitive or you want to immerse yourself as a family in some topic, then go to museums. There are a huge number of them in the capital. The authorities of Moscow have made sure that you have somewhere to go with your children on the weekends and made most of the museums free to visit:
The Museum of Water will immerse you in the history of the first Kremlin water pipes and tell you about the periods of formation of Moscow’s centralized water supply and sewerage systems. nine0098
Radio Museum. Here you can see wartime radios, modern and vintage radios and audio equipment.
Museum of Cosmonautics. The ISS virtual simulator, simulators of the rendezvous and docking spacecraft and the search helicopter pilot, as well as the Buran interactive cockpit are presented.
The Russian National Museum of Music boasts a rich exposition of musical instruments.
Railway transport museum. Here you and your child can admire steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, electric locomotives and walk around the cars of various purposes. nine0098
Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art regularly organizes free art exhibitions and workshops on contemporary art that will be interesting for children aged 12+.

Brooklyn Botanical Garden, its thematic departments and tasks
Corner of natural nature
Brooklyn Botanical Garden is a multicolored and fragrant island among the stone jungles of New York. Back in 1897, the authorities allocated 15 hectares of land for it. But only 1910 became the reference year. And recently this garden celebrated its centennial anniversary. The legendary garden has more than eleven thousand plant species from all over the world. The garden receives over seven hundred visitors a year. From the very morning until six o’clock in the evening – almost the whole day the expositions of the garden are open on weekdays (except Mondays) and from 10 am – on rest days. Admission is free for children under the age of 12, and for adults the ticket costs $5. There is a discount system for older people and students. nine0005
The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is made up of separate themed gardens:
1914 Children’s Garden opens;
1915 – Japanese garden;
1916 – Rock garden;
1925 – Bonsai garden;
1925 – Shakespeare’s Garden, a gift from Henry Folger;
1939 – Osborne Garden, a gift from Elizabeth Osborne;
1996 – Garden of discovery.
Total of fourteen gardens with significant plant collections. Only in the Steinhardt Conservatory there are three sites with interesting climatic settings: desert, tropics and the middle lane. The Brooklyn Botanical Garden is not on the balance sheet of the city – an independent non-profit organization. A board of trustees made up of volunteers governs it. Over 60% of the funds needed to maintain the garden come from contributions and donations from commercial organizations and institutions, from individuals. The rest – by the Ministry of Culture of the State and the Society of the State of New York, budgetary funds. nine0005
The main goals of the Botanical Garden are not only to demonstrate the various plant communities of the planet, but also scientific research, social programs, and participation in educational activities. On the territory of the Brooklyn Garden there is a cafe for the comfort and convenience of visitors, a gift and souvenir shop, a gardening shop with specific goods. To cheer up, to know peace, to think over life plans, to improve health – everything is possible in the New York Botanical Garden. nine0005
Another popular holiday destination is Coney Island, famous for its amusement parks and beaches.

The Maryland Early Learning Standards cover seven domains of development and learning. These domains are also used as the basis for the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, and they can provide you with a roadmap for the work you do with children each and every day.
Social foundations include the skills necessary to:
Regulate one’s own behavior and emotions
Develop healthy relationships with adults and other children
Create a positive personal identity
Develop executive function skills, including inhibitory control, working memory, cognitive flexibility, curiosity, and persistence
Participate and engage in learning
Physical well-being and motor development includes skills related to:
Muscle control, balance, and coordination
Body awareness
Wellness, rest, exercise, health, and nutrition
Self-help skills, such as dressing, brushing teeth, washing hands, and feeding
Language and literacy includes reading, writing, speaking and listening, and language:
Reading includes the foundational concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency; and reading and comprehension skills for informational and literary texts.
Writing includes developmentally appropriate drawing, dictating, and writing to explain, express an opinion, or to tell a story.
Speaking and listening includes participating in conversations, asking and answering questions, describing information, speaking audibly, with a command of the English language as appropriate.
Language includes using the conventions of English grammar when writing or speaking, as well as and capitalization, punctuation, and spelling as appropriate when writing. It also includes learning vocabulary words and phrases.
Mathematics includes skills related to:
Counting and cardinality
Operations and algebraic thinking
Numbers and operations in base ten
Measurement and data
Geometry
Children learn about numbers, precision and value, and number relationships. They also learn about spatial awareness through geometry and measurement.
Science is about children developing scientific thinking skills while exploring the natural and physical world around them.
They learn how to:
Ask questions
Experiment
Apply evidence
Reason
Draw conclusions
Communicate their findings.
Children use their curiosity to explore, question, and investigate earth and physical, and life science at an appropriate level.
Social Studies gives children an understanding of their sense of self-identity and how people relate to each other in a society.
This includes:
Social structures (rules and the process of rulemaking)
Social relationships (family, friends, and community)
Economic relationships (the transfer of goods and services)
In early childhood, children begin to develop an understanding of the different relationships between people and the roles they play in society.
The Arts focus on the use of music, dance, visual arts, and theater to express ideas and emotions.
The skills in this domain help to foster learning and development in all other areas of Maryland Early Learning Standards and the Maryland College and Career-Ready Standards. The arts give children opportunities to apply skills and knowledge in unique, individual, and creative expressions.
Finally, it’s normal that all children do not develop on exactly the same clock. There are, however, predictable periods of progress and developmental milestones. As someone who works with children, it’s important for you to understand development across all the domains – this helps you support children in their current state of readiness and as they grow.
Neuroscience helps us understand how children’s brains typically develop. Infancy is a time of tremendous growth in all areas of development, as described in Healthy Beginnings. Children’s brains are built through their early experiences. In fact, their brains develop more rapidly during the first five years of life than at any other period. The early years of a child’s life represent a great opportunity for you as an educator.
Five critical domains define early childhood development > Joint Base San Antonio > News
JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas –
The first five years of children’s lives are critical in their development as they reach numerous milestones – from sitting up, crawling and walking in the first year of their lives to hopping and climbing by the time they are 5 years old.
However, their development is not just measured by what they can accomplish physically.
“There are five critical domains in a child’s development,” said Dianna Fryer, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph Child Development Program training and curriculum specialist. “Those domains are social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language.”
The five critical domains inform the JBSA CDPs’ approach to early childhood education, but they also can provide a blueprint for parents as they facilitate their children’s development.
“Parents can address the social, emotional, cognitive and language domains by interacting with their children through talking, singing, playing, family-style eating, pretend playing and games,” Fryer said. “They can meet their children’s social needs by providing them with opportunities to explore through play groups and sporting activities.”
One of the best ways parents can stimulate their children’s language skills is by reading to them, said Sarah Fisher, JBSA-Randolph CDP director.
“Reading is not only a great way to connect with a child and develop a caring, safe relationship, it is key to introducing them to language,” she said. “Infants and babies learn new sounds and sights daily. They can learn the different sounds as parents change their voice for a character or to show excitement or sadness.”
Children begin to learn the emergent literacy skills of holding a book, the sound of fluent reading and the direction of reading as they grow into toddlers, Fisher said.
“They can be exposed to a wide variety of experiences in a book they may not be physically able to see,” she said. “Moving into preschool, books continue to teach all these things – letters, sounds, colors, shapes and more. Books can open the world to a child in many ways.”
The physical domain is characterized by the development of fine motor skills, but also by taking part in physical activities outdoors, Fryer said.
“Parents should provide their children with opportunities for outdoor play,” she said. “It’s critical for parents to turn the TV off and take their children outside.”
Parents often worry about their children’s development, especially when they do not reach milestones by a certain age, Fisher said. Language is a common concern.
“If by 2 or 2½ years your child isn’t talking much, it’s important you talk to your doctor,” she said. “Typically, if it’s just your child’s language, and the other domains are fine, there’s no need to be alarmed. We’ve seen children come in here with limited language skills, then start to blossom by being immersed in a social environment.”
However, early intervention for a learning delay is critical, Fisher said. The CDP uses an “Ages and Stages Questionnaire” to solicit parents’ responses to questions about their children’s development.
“It’s a screening tool similar to those used in pediatricians’ offices,” she said. “We use it in a team approach with families to ensure their children are progressing and meeting developmental milestones. ”
Fisher said parents need to be honest in their responses on the ASQ and on pediatricians’ screening forms so learning delays can be addressed.
But it is also important not to measure children by the same timelines for reaching milestones, Fryer said.
“Not every child develops at the same rate of speed,” she said.
Regardless of how quickly children develop, it is imperative they be engaged in all five critical domains throughout the day, Fryer said. That is because those first five years are when learning comes easiest to them.
“They’re like sponges,” she said. “Their brains absorb everything, so that’s the time to expose children to as much as possible.”
Main directions of child development
Each parent strives for the harmonious development of his child, for the realization of his creative and intellectual potential. What aspects to pay attention to and how best to build a program for raising a baby so that there is no preponderance in the direction of one direction?
Speaking in general terms, the child’s development scheme can be conditionally divided into 4 areas:
1.
Physical culture and health improvement
It includes not only the preservation and strengthening of the child’s health, but also health-saving technologies. These include hardening, massage, air baths, immunization, disease prevention. A very important point in this direction is the formation of cultural and hygienic skills (observance of the daily routine, washing hands before eating, etc.). Do not forget about the motor activity of the child: exercises, dancing, outdoor and sports games, acquaintance with various sports. Where there is sport, there is a healthy lifestyle. From the age of three, it is already possible to introduce the baby to a healthy lifestyle in a playful way. It is necessary to help the child create a holistic view of his body, teach him to “listen” and “hear” his body, give first aid skills and develop the ability to sympathize with someone else’s pain.
2. Cognitive-speech
This area includes the development of perception, thinking, memory, attention, imagination and speech. How to take into account so many aspects? This direction realizes itself in the acquaintance of the child with the environment, stimulates curiosity. Explore the world of objects and phenomena together with your child, conduct search activities to clarify cause-and-effect relationships, develop a “feeling” for nature. And also discuss all this with your child – enter into a dialogue, retell fairy tales, engage in speech creation (inventing new names for objects, continuing fairy tales, etc.).
3. Artistic and aesthetic development
Artistic and aesthetic development involves the development of aesthetic taste in children. Introducing the child to the world around, focus on its beauty and uniqueness. Admire, rejoice, admire with him. Such emotions arouse in the child the desire to convey the beauty he has seen, to capture what he liked. At this stage, help the baby in creative activities and self-expression: drawing, modeling, design, music, theater, role-playing games will help you develop creativity and imagination.
Do developmental exercises from Aikyusha
4. Social skills
In the social and personal development of the child, special attention is paid to the development of the individuality and social skills of the child. Introduce the baby to the culture of communication, behavior in society, and the resolution of problem situations. Teach your child to help each other and empathize.
And do not forget to praise, support and stimulate the baby in any activity. Such an attitude contributes to the formation of a child’s positive sense of self, self-confidence, and, as a result, independence in decision-making and responsibility for them.
A particularly important period in a child’s life is associated with adaptation in kindergarten. Remain a support for your baby, then everything will work out in the best way!

Table 1. Development areas
Development area
Characteristic
Physical
Includes growth and body changes. This includes both external changes, for example, the dynamics of growth and weight, and internal changes: changes in bones and muscles, glands, brain and sensory organs. This area includes physical health and motor skills (walking, crawling, writing skills)
Cognitive (from Latin cognitio – knowledge, cognition)
Includes mental processes related to thinking and problem solving. Covers changes in perception, memory, reasoning, imagination, speech
Psychosocial
Includes personality development and interpersonal relationships. These two areas of development are interrelated and cover, on the one hand, changes in the self-concept, self-esteem, emotions and feelings, and on the other hand, the formation of social skills and behavior patterns
There is a complex interaction between different areas of development. So, for example, learning difficulties associated with delayed maturation of brain structures, which are usually interpreted as lack of attention or memory, can affect the formation of a child’s self-esteem, especially relationships with peers. Conflicting relationships with the social environment (with peers, teachers, parents) can lead to the development of neurotic conditions, which, in turn, will provoke somatic diseases such as asthma or diabetes. Illness can also affect the course of both the mental and psychosocial development of a child if, because of it, he does not take part in the life of the class or does not go to school at all.
Thus, development is not a sequence of separate, inconsistent changes, but is of a holistic, systemic nature, as a result of which changes in one area entail changes in others.

Six candidates for two open seats on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors introduced themselves to voters in an online forum on Tuesday, Sept. 29. Orginally scheduled for Wednesday, the forum date was changed to a day earlier and the event was plagued by video and audio difficulties. The township election is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with early voting starting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, and continuing in three sessions with varying hours and days of operation through Friday, Oct. 30. There is one Sunday voting session this year, on Oct. 25. Directors serve two-year terms and are not paid for their services.

Six candidates for two open seats on The Woodlands Township Board of Directors introduced themselves to voters in an online forum on Tuesday.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, the forum date was changed to a day earlier and the event was plagued by video and audio difficulties.
Hosted by The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, four candidates for the Position 2 seat and two candidates for the Position 4 seat met at the chamber offices to do the meet and greet via Facebook Live. Residents could ask questions ahead of time for the candidates to answer and a live-chat feature was set up for viewers to post additional comments.
The feeds of the forums began in odd fashion as no sound could be heard for several minutes and throughout the event, candidates asked for help with the microphone and were at times subjected to strange zoom-in, close-ups of their faces.
Voters who want to watch the forums can go to the chamber’s Facebook page to view the videos, although the audio of the discussions is disjointed and at times hard to hear.
Margo McZeal, governmental affairs coordinator for the chamber, said the technical issues with the forum will be fixed for Thursday’s event, between Position 1 candidates Gordy Bunch and Dr. Jerry D. Smith. A third candidate who will be on the ballot still, Ron Keichline, has quit the election and requested no one vote for him. He will not be at Thursday’s forum.
“We did have technical issue with the sound but was able to improve it,” she said of the Sept. 29 video feed.
Positon 2 hopefuls all present
The Position 2 seat race in the 2020 township election has the most candidates, with four people vying for the seat held for most of two terms by Brian Boniface.
Boniface resigned from the position on April 9 after being called to a six-month humanitarian relief mission with the U.S. Army Reserves. After his resignation, township directors appointed in a 4-2 vote Jason J. Nelson, a local pastor, to replace Boniface.
Nelson is seeking to be elected to the seat officially and has three challengers: Jimmie Dotson, the first Black candidate in the township’s short history; Thomas Chumbley, a local leadership specialist who ran in 2019 and lost to Ann Snyder; and Luis “Louis” Granados, who also ran in 2019, also losing to Snyder.
Nelson said he wants to protect The Woodlands for future generations of families. He also said he was proud of the board for being “fiscally” sound during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I believe (our 2021 budget) is going to help The Woodlands grow and I am so excited,” Nelson said. “I am a man of faith, I deal in prayer and I stand for the national anthem. I want to protect not just the future of The Woodlands, but the future of the community for our children and keep this community a safe, secure place for generations to come.”
Dotson, a long-time police official in Houston, Chattanooga, Tenn. and at the Houston Independent School District, has lived in The Woodlands more than 30 years over two stints and in three different villages, now residing in the Village of Creekside Park. He was a member of the township’s law enforcement advisory board in the mid-2000s.
“I served my country and served one term in Vietnam. I moved to Houston when I finished my career in the Marine Corps,” he said. “Upon returning back to the community we love in 2005, I served as a law enforcement advisor by helping in the drafting and implementing the first law enforcement plan, which his still in effect today. I am opposed to incorporation.”
Chumbley said it would be a mistake to create a new government by incorporating the township into a city. Unlike his jittery 2019 forum performance, Chumbley was polished and had a list of talking points he discussed in-depth.
“Clearly we are at a crossroads,” Chumbley said of incorporation. “An opportunity exists for a future that is bright. You can create a worse tyranny than you’re trying to avoid. We did not know the financial costs (of incorporation) until recently.”

Granados is in his third attempt to win a seat on the board in three years. Granados has requested that a more recognizable spelling of his name be on the ballot. Instead of seeing his real name, Luis Granados, voters will see Louis Granados.
“I moved to The Woodlands in 2015, and this degradation (is bad)…when I start looking around, I see deforestation,” Granados said. “I was asking myself, ‘Where is this traffic coming from? Where are these people coming from?’ (We need to be) Asking questions and pointing out The Woodlands is run by the Howard Hughes Corp. If we proceed with this trend (of development), it will not be The Woodlands in 10 years.”
Position 4 candidates keep comments brief
The two candidates for the Position 4 seat, two term incumbent Bruce Rieser and challenger The Rev. Dan Hannon, kept their forum discussion extremely brief due to continued difficulties with the audio at the event. Between the two candidates presentations, they spoke for less than 10 minutes each before ending the forum.
Much of their comments were unintelligible due to audio problems with the video feed and could not be deciphered despite multiple attempts to view the video.
Rieser, seeking his third term, discussed his platform for office in this Villager profile. At points of the forum, he said incorporation would prevent unchecked development projects which are often out of control of directors due to not being a city.
Hannon, who was the founding pastor at Christ Church United Methodist for 28 years, was profiled by The Villager in this article. He said in part that directors on the board needed be “respectful” to others, notably in areas of gender, race and other identities.

Timber? Timber industry? Timber trading…
Parlamentskaya Gazeta (Moscow) published an interview with Anatoly Greshnevikov, Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on Ecology, where the idea is put forward that the Code is not Forest Code, but Forest Trade Code
According to the developers of the draft Forest Code from the Ministry of Economic Development, as a result of competent forest management, the country could receive 20 billion dollars a year. Anatoly Greshnevikov, deputy chairman of the Duma committee on ecology, believes that this figure is underestimated by at least 6 times. At the same time, relying on the opinion of forestry scientists, the deputy argues that the normal reproduction of forest resources not prescribed in the future law can lead not only the country, but the whole world to an ecological catastrophe.
The writer Mikhail Prishvin once said that if the voices of birds are not heard in the forest, then he does not believe this forest, this is not a forest! – Anatoly Greshnevikov continues. – But it’s not even about emotional assessments. The drafters of the bill managed to forget not only about windbreaks, protective forests near water bodies, but also about especially valuable forest areas, and about who and how will fight forest fires and pests, take care of restoring forest lands. In contrast to all this, the possibility of massive cutting down of trees around cities and towns is open in order to place there, apparently, cottages and “cool” villages.
After getting acquainted with the draft law, there is no doubt that it did not pass an elementary environmental review at all, and the ecological role of the forest was completely forgotten … This is no longer the Forest Code (and not even the timber industry), but a kind of timber trade code. The introduction of which can turn our great forest power into a desert. And this was done despite the fact that the world community, including the UN, has defined Russia’s forest wealth as a world heritage.
What is this anti-environmental nature of the project?
Over the past century, the world’s forests have already halved. And now scientists claim that the role of the “lungs of the planet”, which give the main contribution of oxygen to the Earth’s atmosphere, is performed mainly by Russian and, most of all, Siberian forests. And in this code, especially valuable and, above all, forest lands protected by law, which may disappear along with relict forests, plants and animals listed in the Red Book, fall under the ax. In the future code there is not a word about those who plant and protect forests – about foresters. The developers forgot about the grassroots structures – forestries and forestries, which reproduce and create secondary forests and on which the fate of this only renewable natural resource in Russia depends today.
The question arises that the code was written only by timber merchants interested in profit, who do not care about ecology and the renewal of the natural habitat?!
Unfortunately, this seems to be true. From the very first pages of the bill, you can learn a lot of interesting things about logging and auctions, about what to saw and what to sell. But at the same time, the document does not even reflect the main problem for timber merchants – the organization of industrial deep processing of wood and waste. The code does not focus on the creation of an industry that generates income from the processing of low-quality and small-scale timber. It is known, after all, that Russia annually undercuts about 200 million cubic meters of average growth, that is, as much as is harvested today throughout the country. Losses in logging are also huge, sometimes reaching 50 percent. And the future code generally ignores this primary problem, without obliging the forest user to put stumps, stumps, and tops into action.
Why, then, does the code not raise the question of the profitability of the forest industry, which in all countries of the world is based on the full use of forest resources?
I think this happens because forest, according to the definition of the developers of the code, is considered only as property, a commodity. And reproductive, and even more so ecological concepts are absent in it. And it turns out that in vain the Russians perceive the forest as the “lungs of the planet” from the school bench. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, these are not lungs, not an oxygen factory, and not even the most important component of the environment. The authors of the law do not want to follow science and qualify the forest as a habitat for millions of Russians, as a natural community of flora and fauna, as one of the main factors in regulating and stabilizing the environment. Having defined the forest only as a commodity, the developers associate it only with wood, round timber, auctions and rent. In this case, of course, there is only one conversation – to sell to a tenant, a private trader. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, they “will increase the investment attractiveness of the forest” and the efficiency of its use. However, it is not clear why this will happen. There is not a single line in the law about how the new owner will increase, improve and tighten the standards for forest management and reforestation in accordance with international requirements.
What might be the implications of such a timber trading approach?
The history of forest management has proven time and time again that a private forest owner is not interested in spending money on reforestation, science and other “little things”. His only interest is to make a profit. Therefore, in the absence of a state environmental policy and with those insignificant obligations of the owner that are spelled out in the draft law, big business will not be able to perform those important state functions in managing the forest fund that the state used to perform. Such a policy will lead to the predatory destruction of the Russian forest. As a result, even the state treasury will not receive anything. And how can we expect any improvements if the bill does not even mention the cadastre. And it may turn out that prices at auctions will be set arbitrarily. Then this code will not only not fulfill the economic tasks, but will lead to a completely opposite effect. In the West, we may be squeezed out of the European market for forest products, and in the Far East, on the contrary, we may become a raw material appendage of China’s timber industry.
Why are you so convinced of the harmfulness of forest auctions?
My prejudice is not against auctions in general, but against their use to allocate forest plots. I believe that the desire to quickly sell the plots will lead to uncontrolled destruction of forests. Since auctions are aimed at attracting those who will pay more for the right to cut wood, it may turn out that all rural leshozes that do not have money will go bankrupt through the auction policy in a direct way. By the way, nothing is written about rural forests in the code. And since a rural dweller today is not able to either buy or get the right to cut wood, he can generally become a kind of forest homeless… Moreover, auctions have never reflected the real price of a forest resource.
But is there an alternative to the merchant approach to the forest?
There is, for example, foreign experience that can suggest a way out of the wilds of the current commercial approach to the forest. When privatization hung over the forests in Poland, the officials were stopped from selling by the people’s verdict in a referendum. This means that we should also provide for a mechanism in the code that prevents trade in the “lungs of the planet” and the privatization of forests. In the same way, the attempts of the drafters of the law to introduce the institution of private ownership of forest resources should be moderated. In developed countries, in the same Canada, 90% of the forests are state-owned, and long-term leases are available only to forest users with good processing capacities. Nor can the experience of the Scandinavian countries be ignored. In Sweden, for example, it is generally accepted as a rule that in large timber companies up to 50 percent of the shares are held by the state. Similarly, in the United States, the practice is now legalized when the state buys forests from private companies. But in general, according to statistics, the number of private forests in the world is constantly decreasing and today is only 20%. However, for some reason, our Ministry of Economic Development does not have such an experience, and it is ready to sell almost the entire Siberian taiga to private traders. And no one there takes into account that, for example, introducing the use of non-timber forest resources and developing the world’s widespread tourist farms and ecological tourism, the country could receive more income than from the sale of wood at all auctions.
Are you overestimating the danger of forest privatization?
On the contrary, I have not even listed all the risks of a “forest default”. And above all, he did not say how the forest regions themselves could suffer from it. And after all, they will suffer, because the obligations of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation to maintain forestry, provide assistance in extinguishing fires, etc. are excluded from the code. In this case, there will be no one to encourage the owner’s efforts to green forest activities, to interest the tenant in improving forests. The code also lacks a mechanism for prohibiting the sale of timber through nominees using fake certificates and the control of resellers according to the reports of the tax service. At the same time, local budgets can generally be left without a penny, since all income received from the use and sale of forest resources is initially planned to be centralized. And why, then, with such obvious injustice and exactions, should local governments take care of preserving green wealth?!
In the fate of the Russian forest, a black streak already went on when the timber trade lobbyists liquidated the Federal Forestry Service in May 2000. Now they are eager for the adoption of a new Forest Code in order to completely destroy the state forest policy and forestry science. To do this with the tacit consent of the Russians today is quite realistic.

90,000 rocks, ponds, forests. Panoramas of rocks and pond
Text, panorama, map, photographs
In the Crimea, the amazing play of autumn colors is most pleasant to watch in natural, most similar to pristine conditions. Fortunately, most often the autumn days on the peninsula are warm and sunny, the air is clean and transparent, and the length of the day allows you to walk up to your heart’s content. For such walks, it is not at all necessary to go somewhere far into the mountains, it is enough to remember the nearby plots of land occupied by nature. Autumn will take care of the rest.
Perhaps, the mountains of the Eastern Crimea, not far from the seaside town of Sudak, will appeal to any connoisseur of outdoor activities. Of course, they are not as high as the Main Ridge on the South Coast, but they are no less spectacular. What is the amazing Taraktash ridge and the unusual rocks of the Solnechnaya (Kozskaya) valley worth. Compared to the austere view of the grandiose rock walls of the South Coast, many mountains of the Sudak environs do not put pressure on the traveler from above with their mass, but as if modestly invite to get to know them better. A pleasant and easy walk will be in the vicinity of the village of Lesnoye, which is located just 12 kilometers from the city of Sudak.
It doesn’t matter how you get to the village of Lesnoe. In any case, sooner or later your path will come to the R-35 highway connecting Grushevka with Sudak. The picturesque, narrow route either rising up or again descending from the hills down, whimsically winds under the dense canopy of the forest. This small section of the mountain road is one of the few, fully functional, and, moreover, well preserved the original beauty of the forest path. Editor K.Yu. would not agree with the opinion of the Author. Bumber and the team of compilers of the pre-revolutionary edition Crimea. Guide “, 1914:
This road is less interesting than Otuzskaya, and is monotonous in nature.
The village of Lesnoye, until May 18, 1948, was called Suuk-Su (“cold water”).
The old name of the village Lesnoe was given by analogy with the name of the source of cold spring water – Suuk-Su. The source has survived to this day, although in an obviously rebuilt form. The Russian population of the village of Lesnoye calls the source of Suuk-Su simply – Fountain. Not unreasonable. In fact, the Suuk-Su spring is just a decorative and functional part of a captive water source with a tube-like outlet. Most of the source, capping and a ceramic water conduit, is hidden from prying eyes under a layer of ancient, saturated with historical traces of the land of the village of Lesnoye.
Near the source of Suuk-Su lies a roughly hewn stone capital. It is unlikely that this element of architecture in the past belonged to a modest home of a Tatar or Russian. Perhaps this capital used to decorate the hall of the mosque in the village of Suuk-Su (Forest) that has not survived to this day. It is marked on many old maps. Alas, even her images have not survived to this day. Or maybe this modest piece of hewn stone adorned the Mordvinovs’ manor house. In the same “Guidebook” of 1914 we read:
On the 15th ver. from Sudak, on the mountain, is located in a picturesque area Suuk-Su economy (cold water) c. Mordvinovs, to whom belong the vineyards and forests stretching from Taraktash herself.
Who knows!
As already mentioned, exactly four years after the deportation of the Crimean Tatars from the village, the village of Suuk-Su was renamed Lesnoye. It is worth noting that against the backdrop of massive, rather stupid renaming, the village of Lesnoye was named very well. There are two reasons for this. The first is, of course, the location of the village, among the dense forests of the Eastern Crimea. The second is a long history of relations between the inhabitants of Suuk-Su and the forests surrounding the village with a dense wall.
Perhaps the most famous part of this story can be started with Count Mordvinov. However, this has been discussed above. If we take a later period of time, then the document here will be “list of settlements of the Crimean ASSR according to the All-Union census on December 17, 1926” . In this document, under the letter “C”, in addition to the village of Suuk-Su, the Taraktash village council, the “Suuk-Suinsky Forest House” is designated.
In 1924, on the basis of forest lands expropriated for the benefit of the state from private individuals, forest dachas of the former Sudak timber industry enterprise were created. In specially designated places, to protect forests from fires, illegal logging, mowing and uncontrolled grazing, houses for foresters were built – “forest houses”. Each of these “forest houses” was assigned a certain territory, a “detour” and a “detour”. Foresters were mostly local residents. Forest houses were often built in a family way: the forester lived in the territory protected by him with his whole family. Built at the very dawn of the newly emerging state, the Suuk-Suinsky forest house, over time, became a large organization that has survived to this day – the Komsomol forestry. At the moment, 6,500 hectares of forest territory are assigned to the Komsomol forestry. In the village of Lesnoye there is a two-storey forestry building and a utility yard. The staff of the Komsomolsk forestry, both in Soviet times and today, was repeatedly awarded by the state with letters of thanks and prizes.
The most picturesque territory of the Komsomol forestry is the forest park. On the territory of just over one hectare, foresters have created a real forest, in all its biological diversity. A bright “highlight” of the forest park of the village of Lesnoye is a small artificial reservoir (pond). In its motionless, protected from the wind by densely surrounded by trees, blue waters reflect the forest and the picturesque cliffs of the Small Chatal rock (correctly – Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya).
Virtual tour of three spherical panoramas. Panoramic views of a pond and rocks in the vicinity of the village of Lesnoye:
Full-screen mode is activated by double-clicking (not supported by all browsers) or by clicking on the icon almost to the very foot of the Camel cliffs (as the locals call the mountain).
On the way you will meet a very picturesque, bright and light grove of young birches. This grove was planted artificially by the foresters of the Komsomol forestry. There are several similar artificial forest plantations around the village of Lesnoye. There are pines, junipers, oaks and birches. For a birch, the Crimean autumn is very warm, so the northern “guests” of our forests – birches lose their leaves a little later than the rest, the “indigenous” inhabitants of the forest.
Gradually the path gets steeper. Finally, not approaching the very cliffs, the road will go to the side, to the Maly Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya) and Sary-Kaya, Matracheva gully, lying between the rocks. For now, leaving the road, we will continue our climb up the slope to the rocks of Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya (Small Chatal). Finally, having climbed more than half a kilometer above sea level (the height of Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya (Maly Chatal rock) is 512 meters), our path will lead to a small platform between the rocks – a kind of passage.
Perhaps there is no more original rock in the Suuk-Su valley than Small Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya, “small flyer”, flyer is a stand for tree branches weighted with fruits). With a narrow blade of a rocky “knife”, divided into three separate sections by weathering, the rock Small Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya) cut open a ridge that separates two vast beams. The one that is located from the side of the village of Lesnoy, in its lower part, is called Suuk-Su. Closer to the rocks of Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya (Small Chatal), the beam changes its name to Karanykh-Deresi (“dark beam”). The Karanykh-Deresi gully, passing near the foot of the Kurkushlu-Oba mountain (Feodosia height), stretches to the very mountain Khambal. On the opposite side, from the village of Lesnoye, the Maly Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya) rock, there is an equally vast Eski-Yurt tract, turning into Matracheva Balka.
Small Chatal rock (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya) serves as an amazingly beautiful observation point, with an excellent 360 degree panoramic view in all directions. Of course, this view is especially beautiful in autumn. In autumn, the grandiose area of forests spread at the feet of the traveler, filling all the surrounding valleys and beams, forests, seems to be a huge homespun carpet of multi-colored shreds of pastel-colored fabric. Do not lag behind in this “colorful competition” and the inhabitants of the rock Small Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya). The ubiquitous skumpia adds red flowers, wild rose owns dark burgundy tones, and the monotonous yellowness of the grass withered in the hot summer is diluted with the greens of fresh autumn grass. There are a lot of trees on the rock Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya (Small Chatal) – “survivors”. In the shadow of a narrow wall, God knows how, a lone crooked pine tree was attached to the rock. Small patches of land on the tops of the rocks of Small Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya) were occupied by colonies of gills.
The closest “neighbors” of the Small Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya) rock are the Biyuk-Machik-Kaya mountain and the Sary-Kaya rock, on the other side of the Matracheva gully. Mount Biyuk-Machik-Kaya (“machik” – a lamb) surprises, perhaps, with the correct conical shape. Much more interesting and picturesque is the Sary-Kaya rock (“yellow rock”, the local name for the rock is Scallop).
It is difficult to give any recommendations for finding a convenient way to the Sary-Kaya rock. The only thing that can be done is to go down to the road leading at the ascent to the rock Small Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya), and follow this, more convenient, path to the rocky bottom of the Matracheva gully, to a kind of “passage” between two mountains.
Unlike the rocks of Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya (Small Chatal), the rocks of Sary-Kaya begin immediately, from the bottom of the Matracheva gully. The rock of Sary-Kaya is no less interesting and picturesque of the rocks of the Lesser Chatal (Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya). She visits much less often.
Dividing the mountain into two parts, like an ancient fortress wall, the Sary-Kaya rock stretches from the Matracheva gully to almost the Grushevka-Sudak highway itself. For the completeness of this natural barrier, some three hundred meters of rock are not enough. The most interesting and picturesque section of the Sary-Kaya rock is located approximately in the middle of its length. With a thickness, in its upper part, of only a meter, the height of the Sary-Kaya rock reaches 10-20 meters in height. The rock of Sary-Kaya is badly damaged by weathering. Often, poorly holding pieces of rock fly out from under the feet. Having fallen, pieces of the Sary-Kaya rock rustle for a long time in the dense thickets of bushes at its foot. The entire foot of the Sary-Kaya rock is littered with such small, detached fragments. And in some places there are whole layers of pieces torn off from the parent rock. In the rock of Sary-Kaya, as well as in Kuchuk-Chatal-Kaya (Small Chatal), there is a small passage between the rocks. There is also a kind of “window” here – a through hole in a thin, heavily weathered rock, with a peculiar view of the Grushevka-Sudak highway. Weathering created a small cavity in the rock of Sary-Kaya, the only one on our way. Its size is so miniature that it is chosen only by a wild animal – a fox. The remnants of the meal of this predator can be seen in the grotto-lair itself and on the steep slope at the foot of the Sary-Kaya rock.
From the eastern edge of the Sary-Kaya rock, along a forest clearing road, you can quickly reach the fan-shaped outskirts of the village of Lesnoye and the forestry. The fan-shaped part of the village of Lesnoye is a quarter of Crimean Tatars who returned from deportation. Leaving the new streets and forestry, we will again find ourselves where we started our journey from – on the R-35, Grushevka-Sudak highway.

Forests recede before settlement | RMK
Forests retreat before settlement
The population density of the territory turned the forest into arable land more and more. The remoteness from the manors of the forest for construction was already noted in the XIV-XV century. In the 16th century, it was forbidden to cut down trees for sale in the village almends, forest use was free only for the needs of the farm itself. By the 17th century, a situation had developed in which larger forests were located in peripheral areas, and in the previously populated centers, the forest turned into arable land. The owner’s right of use in private forests was unlimited. The common forests of the village could be used by any villager, but only for their own use and without outside help.
In the 17th century, the lack of forest around the settled areas became even more pronounced. Forests were less scarce than they are today, but the forests suitable for finding the necessary wood receded farther and farther from the settlements, and due to the limited transport possibilities of that time, it was more difficult to transport the wood. In the records of the land revisions of Livonia in 1688-1690. very common are the complaints of the landlords that the former cuttings have already been used up and there are no more suitable land plots for cutting under arable land. Over the next few decades, famine, war, and plague spread, the population dwindled, and subsequent outbreaks of animal disease exacerbated the lack of fertilizer. Thus, the importance of the forest fields remained at least in Southern Estonia for some time, and the final decline of the slash-and-burn system of agriculture began in these areas only in the second half of the 18th century. Fire began to spread widely, which consisted in burning trees brought from other places along with turf. At first, the fire was carried out from imported trees, later the lack of forest forced the use of brushwood. In state manors and part of private manors, peasants began to be forbidden to carry out burnings. Some landowners forbade burning when burning large trees and in an old arable field, without preventing burning brushwood in forest fields.
In the 18th century, the peasants were allowed to use the forest, but more and more attempts were made to bring this right under the control of the manors. Rural forests are preserved only in some places. It is not entirely clear when and under what circumstances the right to hunt was restricted. Apparently, the restrictions began with private estates and were first used to hunt larger game such as elk, roe deer and wild boar. The revision of 1599 states that almost every peasant has a musket, many even have several. The peasants did not forget their guns at home during the winter logging, and hunted whenever possible. When they saw an elk, “the shepherds left the herd unattended, the plowman left the horses, the manure carrier left the load on the road, immediately rushing to hunt for the elk. ” The systematic restriction of hunting began in the 17th century.

It was not the landowner who planted the tree, God grew the forest (Estonian proverb)
In the 19th century, logging began to spread more widely – people used to consider the forest as common property that could be used by any member of the community. As a result, taking timber from the forest of the manor was not considered real theft. If wood was needed, but there was not enough money for the purchase, then the tree was taken out of the forest of the manor without tormenting remorse. There were cases when the landowner forbade the sale of single trees.
Large-scale logging took place in regions where people earned their livelihood from carpentry and spent more on consumables. Most of all, the men from Avinurme became famous for stealing the forest.
If it was planned to take wood out of the forest without a permit, it was usually done at night and during snowfall, which quickly covers the tracks. To hide the theft, the trees were cut down as low as possible, and the stumps remaining after that were hidden under the moss. If a stump without a stamp was found in the forest, it immediately became clear that the tree was taken out without permission. To catch the thief, the foresters cut a thin circle from the top of the stump. If it was suspected that the wood was stolen, the circle was applied to the log – if the frame exactly coincided with the surface of the section of the log, then the culprit was caught.
The former forester of the Sagadi forestry, August Kask, said:
“A man was building a barn near Ohvandi, and a tree was stolen from the forest. And then this forester went inside and began to study log after log, and found the same one.

Fighting dogs: general selection rules
The definition “fighting dogs” is quite common, but not official. The fact is that dog fights are prohibited in most countries of the world, and for many years the selection of “fighting” dogs has been carried out in the direction of mitigating their aggressive qualities. For example, the well-known bull terriers, according to the classification of the International Cynological Federation, belong to the extensive category of terriers, that is, pets intended for hunting burrowing animals.
nine0003
However, many breeds that were originally bred for baiting, fighting or fighting with other dogs have retained some of their ferocity. And it can clearly manifest itself with the wrong approach to education and training.
Choose a fighting dog only in the following cases:
You need a protector and guard, and you are ready to take responsibility for his behavior.
You have already had dogs of fighting or other breeds, and you successfully coped with their education.
nine0003
You are ready to spend a lot of time with your pet.
Remember: buying a puppy from a kennel will significantly reduce the risk that you will come across a dog with an unstable psyche.
Top 10 strongest: list of fighting dog breeds
1. Bullmastiff
The palm in bite strength does not belong to the pit bull, but to the bullmastiff. American cynologist Cesar Milan calculated that a dog’s jaws can compress with a force of 155 kilograms per square centimeter. nine0003
Initially, the bullmastiff was bred by foresters who used it to catch poachers. Sometimes such persecution ended in death, and later the most ferocious dogs began to be culled. Modern bullmastiffs are used as guard and service dogs. They are trained to knock a person to the ground and simulate a bite.
2. American Bulldog
The ancestors of the American Bulldog were bred to take part in the popular and cruel pastime of bullbaiting (English name “bull baiting”). When this spectacle was forbidden, the dogs began to pit against each other.
nine0003
In the 19th century, bulldogs became the progenitors of several new breeds, in particular, bull terriers. Modern American Bulldogs have a fairly balanced character and are famous for their protective qualities. They are devoted to the owner, smart and absolutely fearless.
3. American Pit Bull Terrier
Pit bulls are a breed not recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale. Breeding of these dogs is banned in some European countries and US states. In other states, to get a pit bull, you need permission from the authorities and neighbors.
nine0003
Nevertheless, the breed is still popular all over the world, used for police service, search for drugs and explosives. The force of compression of the dog’s jaws is 126 kg per sq. cm.
Zoo-aggression is an innate feature of the pit bull, but aggression towards people is almost never found. Many fighting dogs make excellent companions and love family and children dearly.
4. Doberman
Dobermans are among the top most popular breeds in the world for a reason. The description of their character includes such qualities as a developed intellect, fearlessness and devotion to the owner. They are fast and strong, and their jaw strength is 142 kg per sq. cm.
nine0003
Dobermans make good guard and service dogs. They owe their reputation as vicious and unbalanced dogs more to films than to real qualities. Dobermans become unreasonably aggressive only with the wrong upbringing.
5. Rottweiler
In some countries, Rottweilers are listed as especially dangerous breeds, and they can really behave inappropriately when in the hands of an unscrupulous person. It is not easy to train Rottweilers, they are stubborn and capricious, but proper education pays off well, since the dog’s service qualities are very high. As a rule, Rottweilers are deeply devoted to one owner and do not tolerate change of owners.
nine0003
6. Akita inu
Initially, the Japanese used Akita inu to bait bears and wild boars, and later they began to pit with other dogs in the arena. Unlike most countries, the practice of dog fighting has been preserved in Japan today, but in a milder form.

7. Cane Corso

Today’s representatives of the breed are also wary of strangers, have developed intuition and easily identify potential danger. At the same time, it is difficult to get rid of them. nine0003
8. Alabai
The Central Asian Shepherd Dog is not only an excellent shepherd and guard, but also a fierce fighter. In the countries of Central Asia, fights with the participation of Alabai are still held.

Alabai will fearlessly defend the owner even from a superior enemy, but will not finish off the vanquished. Unlike many fighting breeds, Central Asian Shepherd Dogs are quite capable of existing alongside other domestic animals. nine0003
9. Caucasian Shepherd Dog
Due to their excellent working characteristics and amazing unpretentiousness, Caucasian Shepherd Dogs are one of the most common guard breeds. There are also known cases of using these dogs as fighting dogs.
Caucasian puppies already at the age of one month begin to show aggression and actively try to put themselves above the owner. To direct natural assertiveness and will in a peaceful direction, you need to start classes with your pet as early as possible.
nine0003
Which fighting dog is better to get
Only you can decide which of the listed breeds is right for you. In any case, we wish you to set clear goals for yourself and soberly assess your strengths.

US cities. State of New Hampshire.: otrageniya — LiveJournal
Hello dear. And we are continuing our little trip around New England. Last time we remembered Maine: https://id77.livejournal.com/4716176.html, and today I think we’ll talk a little about the “Granite State” – New Hampshire.
Small in size (24,217 km² – comparable to Djibouti and North Macedonia) and population (1,379,089 people). There are many mountains, forests, rivers – so tourism brings a lot of income. There is a National Reserve – one of the most popular attractions. nine0002
Many hiking trails have been developed, such as the Appalachian Trail. On the mountain slopes there is the famous “Castle in the Clouds”, from the platform of which a beautiful view of the lake opens, and the waterfall “Silver Cascade”.
Numerous ski resorts available Loon Mountain, Cannon Mountain, Waterville Valley, Cranmore Mountain, Wildcat.
The largest rivers in the state are the Connecticut and Merrimack, and the largest lake is the Winnipesaukee.
Why is it called the “Granite State”? The fact is that in the north of the state are the White Mountains with the highest point – Mount Washington (1917 m.), and in the middle part of New Hampshire is the New England Upland. There is a lot of granite around 🙂 It is actively mined, like other natural stone.
The name of the state is associated with the British county in the South East of England, Hampshire or Hampshire (the largest city is Southampton). By the way, the only port of the State, Portsmouth, is also named after the English port city, which is de facto part of the county of Hampshire.
The state is divided into 10 districts The capital of the state is the city Concord (Concord). The name comes from the Latin term Concordia, that is, consent.
Insurance and retail trade play an important role in the city’s business. Concord Litho is one of the largest independent publishers in the United States. There are also small enterprises for woodworking and processing of agricultural products. Tourism plays an important role in the city’s economy.
Of interest is the New Hampshire State Capitol – which is the oldest surviving capitol in which the sessions of the state legislature take place in the original Assembly Room The famous Eagle Hotel, where presidents and other government officials have stayed. The hotel has been closed since 1961.
Phoenix Hall – Abraham Lincoln performed in the old building that burned down in 1893, Theodore Roosevelt performed in the new building erected in its place. Concord Historical Museum. Walker-Woodman House, Pierce Mans Buildings
Famous People Composer Lives Here John Coolidge Adams
State’s Largest City Manchester (Manchester) in Hillsborough County
One of the best cities in the entire country to live in, according to multiple independent ratings. Once the industrial heart and cultural life of the state. And now the main city of the state. The city owes its name to an older namesake from England
The city achieved its first commercial success thanks to the Amoskeg company, which at one time produced a huge number of diverse products. Manchester is now the headquarters of Segway, Inc. nine0002 One of the largest in New England is located in the vicinity of Manchester Manchester-Boston Regional Airport
There is a large indoor arena – SNHU Arena, where the Manchester Monarchs team from the Los Angeles Kings system is based, and the baseball Northeast Delta Dental Stadium
In the city well-preserved architecture of the 19th century. Manchester still has not lost the magical spirit of antiquity. Citizens diligently protect cultural attractions.
In addition, Manchester has become an attractive tourist town. Tourists from all over the world come here to admire the 18th century monuments that have been preserved in the city since the War of Independence. nine0002 Important cultural sites in the city are Palace Theatre. physiologist Thomas Bushard, astronaut Lee Miller Emil Morin Childhood spent Charles Haskell Revson – creator of the largest cosmetics company Revlon. nine0002 Actor lives here Adam Sandler
The state’s second most populous city is Nashua (Nashua) in Hillsborough County
Nashua has been named America’s Best Place to Live twice by Money magazine. It is the only city that received this title twice in 1987 and 1997. In 2007, the city was ranked 27th in Morgan Quitno’s “Safe Cities in the Country” rating
A major industrial center, the city of Nashua specializes in optics and computer technology. nine0002 Famous natives Amanda Lee Moore American actress and pop singer
Triple H Wrestler Randy Harrison Actor Emerson, Benjamin Kendall American geologist -1
One of the most famous cities in the US is Hanover (Hanover), located along the Connecticut River in Grafton County. In 2007 CNN and Money magazine selected Hanover as the second best place to live in the US. The city was named after the British monarch from the Hanoverian dynasty, George III, who ruled at its founding. nine0002 Hanover is one of the few cities that has the Appalachian Trail running through its very center.
Famous natives include World War II hero Admiral Thomas Kinkade (1888-1972)
in the USA, a member of the elite Ivy League.
This is one of 9 colonial colleges founded before the American Revolution. And definitely one of the most famous. Michael Carleone from the famous movie saga studied here 🙂 And if we talk about real graduates, then this is the poet Robert Frost, Nelson Rockefeller , the actress and director Julie Davis and many others.
Well, in the post-Soviet space, the only port of the state is widely known – Portsmouth (Portsmouth) in Rockingham County Portsmouth for auto parts and marine vessels.
At the mouth of the Piscataca River is the US Navy’s Portsmouth Shipyard, where US nuclear submarines are still being built. Also in the city are enterprises for the production of auto parts. nine0002 During the Cold War, Portsmouth was a highly specialized military base of the US armed forces (hence the secrecy), but now it is, in no small measure, the office and tourist center of the country. Why would we know him well? But the fact is that on August 23 (September 5), 1905, the Portsmouth Peace Treaty was signed here – an agreement between the Russian Empire and Japan, which ended the Russo-Japanese War of 1904-1905. I think at least you have heard the name of this agreement at least once in your life 🙂
Among other cities in the state, I would also highlight: Derry (Derry) in Rockingham County. Derry is the fourth most populous of all cities in New Hampshire and is a prime example of “one-story America.”
The city was named after the city of Derry, Northern Ireland, the Irish word Doire means “oak forest”. The first potato field in the United States was planted here in 1719.
Derry is home to two of America’s oldest private schools – Pinkerton Academy, founded in 1814 and still in operation, and the formerly closed Adams Female Seminary. nine0002 Famous citizens: Robert Frost , poet. and of course astronaut Alan Shepard is the first American in space.
Known city Grafton (Grafton) in the district of the same name.
Founded in 1778 as a municipality, although a settlement existed on the same site before. Named after Augustus FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton.
In the 2010s Grafton was the site of a libertarian experiment, the Free State Project. The project led to the decline of the city and was terminated in 2016
Dover (Dover) Strafford County seat
It is the oldest city in the state and one of the oldest still in existence in the United States. The city was founded by English settlers in 1623 in the area of Uekohamet, the habitat of the Abenaki tribe. In 1633, a group of Puritans settled in the city.
Keene (Keene) in Cheshire County
The first European settlement in the area was established in 1735 as a frontier fort during the French and Indian Wars. Keane received borough status in 1753 and city status in 1874. In 1848, a railroad was brought to the city, after which the local economy began to actively develop: in particular, a brick and foundry factory appeared. The city’s industry declined during the Great Depression, and its current economy is based on tourism, education, and the insurance business. nine0034
City Madison (Madison) in Carroll County. Received city status in 1852, named after the fourth US President James Madison.
There is a large national park with granite rocks

4 Small-Scale Daycares & Preschools in Silver Lake, NY
Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.
What is NeighborSchools?
Hey there, nice to meet you 👋 We’re a new-ish startup that helps new-ish parents find daycare.
We know how hard finding good child care can be – especially for first-time parents. But really good care is what gives you the peace of mind to go back to work and feel confident that your child is getting the stimulation, socialization, and support they need to learn and grow.
So we created NeighborSchools to make this piece of parenthood a whole lot easier. We say “easier” because, let’s be honest, it’s still a big thing to figure out, but working together we can help you find some good options, understand the whole process, and choose a program you’ll feel really good about.
How’s it work?
Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care – so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.
Is there a cost?
Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools – we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.
How do I know if I’m ready to take the survey?
Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.
How do I know if a daycare has openings?
Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.
More questions? Text or email – we’re here to help.
We’re online Monday – Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.

Family Kindergarten | Motherhood
The difficult situation that has recently developed in our country with kindergartens, lack of places, queues and pre-registration immediately after the birth of the baby make parents consider other options in order to give their child preschool education and allow the mother to go to work. There are not many outputs. The main ones are grandmothers, nannies, private kindergartens.
Without a doubt, the best option for any baby would be if he is raised by a loving and caring mother, and not by an outsider. What to do in situations when the financial issue is acute in the family and the woman needs to go to work? There is an option that allows you to combine raising a baby at home and allows mothers to receive wages. This is a family daycare.
What is it?
Family Kindergarten (SDS) is a special form of state support for families with many children. Unfortunately, at present, not all regions can boast of implementing such a program (it is already operating in Moscow, Krasnodar, Vladivostok and some other cities). Family kindergarten is a very convenient form of organization of preschool children, combined with the employment of the mother. Usually created on the basis of a municipal kindergarten. One of the parents is registered as a teacher with admission to the state and an entry in the work book, and the family kindergarten becomes a division of the city preschool educational institution.
Any large family with three children of preschool age can create their own family kindergarten. However, a situation often arises when there are two preschoolers in the family, or even just one. There is a simple solution to this problem: you can enroll a baby from another family in the kindergarten. The number of children in SDS is usually three to eight.
First steps in registration
To create a family kindergarten, you must have the following documents: passport, birth certificates of children, mother’s medical book and children’s medical cards, insurance pension and medical policies, certificate of education (not lower than full secondary) and certificate of large families families. It is necessary to go to the nearest kindergarten, which has already made changes to the charter of the preschool educational institution, and agree on the opening of a structural unit. This issue can be resolved through the Department of Education. Then they themselves will find a suitable kindergarten. The head of the kindergarten gives a referral to the mother for a medical examination. The medical book is issued by the SES. In the same place, a hologram is placed in it after passing all the specialists and passing the tests. In the SES, a lecture is usually given with attestation for educators. In some regions, special training is provided for mothers organizing a family kindergarten.
If children from other families are admitted to the kindergarten, then all their documents are required, an agreement is concluded with their mothers and fathers. A sample can be taken from MDOU. In addition, you will need a notarized power of attorney from the parents for the right to take care of the child. For each child, a referral is issued by the Department of Education.
Mom concludes an employment contract with MDOU. In the same place, the head is issued the necessary orders and instructions (the order of the district administration to open a SDS, the order of the head of the kindergarten to open a structural unit, the order to appoint a mother to the position of educator, etc.).
Family kindergarten requirements and reporting
Housing survey report. The direction for its receipt is issued at the MDOU. According to the norms, each child should have his own sleeping place, in the apartment it is necessary to allocate sleeping, play and dining areas, as well as a place for classes. Area norms – at least 6 sq.m. for one baby.
Questionnaires are compiled for parents of children. A sample can be taken from MDOU. Most likely, the mother will be required to maintain some reporting on the nutrition of children. It includes a menu and a list of products that are approved by MDOU. Monthly food expenses are entered into the report and confirmed by sales receipts. Every day you will have to fill out the report card of children’s attendance.
The mother-educator will need to make plans for the lessons. You can find ready-made samples or ask a kindergarten methodologist. Sometimes the management begins to demand full notes of the classes.
Education and training
Children are engaged in an educational program. You can take a ready-made one at the MDOU, to which the family kindergarten is attached, or you can develop your own using methodological, pedagogical and children’s literature. This issue must be agreed with the head and methodologist of the kindergarten, so that subsequently there are no disagreements. The main task is to prepare children for school, teaching counting, writing, and the basics of creativity. The program of preschool education should be mastered. It is possible that at the end of the school year, management will want to see what the children have learned. There will be a need for an open lesson or testing of kids.
Meals
Children receive a daily meal allowance. The menu is compiled and approved by the MDOU. Mom needs to stick to it, and also keep documentation confirming all expenses. It is also possible that the food will be prepared by a cook at the MDOU, and then it will have to be transported to the family garden in containers. This will greatly facilitate the work of the mother-educator.
Advantages of a family kindergarten
Work experience and money. Mom is registered according to a work book and receives a teacher’s salary in accordance with her rank. She has seniority and deductions to the Pension Fund.
Furniture and toys. Should be issued to the family on a rental basis from the kindergarten to which it is attached. In the event of a breakdown, they are returned to the MDOU, and write-off is carried out there.
Methodological assistance. In kindergarten, you can get the necessary literature for classes with children and ask for help from a methodologist.
Assistance from other specialists. Children can attend classes in kindergarten with a music worker, with a speech therapist, swim in the pool and play in the gym, if they are available.
Food allowance. Children attending a family kindergarten receive a daily meal allowance.
For the summer period, you can arrange an exit kindergarten and move to a dacha, if the family has one.
Mom decides how and what to do with her children, makes up the daily routine. She knows what her children eat and how much.
Mom does not have to worry and think about how the kids feel in kindergarten, because she is always with them.
Children lack the process of adaptation and stress from a change in environment.
Disadvantages of a family kindergarten
Children stay with their mother around the clock, all cares for upbringing and maintenance fall on her shoulders, she has practically no personal time left.
In addition to the fact that the mother has to play the role of an educator, cook and nanny, she is also responsible for maintaining certain records and accounting, as well as preparing for classes with children.
It is necessary to regularly undergo a medical examination, take tests and put a mark in the medical book.
If one child falls ill, the mother does not have the opportunity to take the rest to classes or for a walk. This may affect the wages of the teacher.
Children do not have the experience of communicating with a large team, so later there may be some difficulties with adaptation at school. In order to avoid such problems, it is desirable to combine home education with visiting circles, additional courses and sections.
Family kindergarten is a new phenomenon for our country. However, despite some disadvantages, this type of organization of children is very convenient, both for mothers and for preschoolers. This is a good alternative to the municipal kindergarten, which allows a woman to combine work and raising children. I would like to believe that this form of family support will be introduced in all regions and become widespread.

Children’s corner – how to choose? Children’s corners with bed and table
Furniture for the girl’s room
Extendable sofa bed
Bunk bed
Ancient Roman bed
corner. Children of preschool and primary school age, who do not know where to put their energy, by the way, will have a children’s sports corner. And a schoolchild cannot do without a workplace where he could prepare homework, and the best option would be a children’s corner with a bed and a table. nine0003
Types of children’s corners
Depending on the age, children’s corners have different types and purposes.
For toddlers from 1 to 2 years old, the children’s corner is a collapsible or stationary playpen-fence or playpen-screen with a play panel. It is made in various versions of wood, chipboard or plastic. Usually decorated with drawings or details depicting windows, doors, locks, mirrors, stickers and other attributes of children’s games. Inside the children’s corner, game elements are installed: houses, tents, cars, rockets, buses, etc., allowing the baby to spend time in games. The best option is when these elements are inflatable, which allows them to be removed or changed periodically, but there are also plastic or wooden ones. nine0021
For kindergarten children from 2 to 5-6 years old, the best option is a children’s sports and play corner. Usually it is a spatial metal or wooden structure in which sports and game elements are reinforced, such as: children’s rope swing, Swedish wall, rope ladder, gymnastic rings, trapeze, slide, rings, bungee disc, gossamer net, gymnastic mat. All this is combined into a single compact complex that does not take up much space in the apartment. Such children’s corners help not only physical development, but also raise the emotional state of the child. nine0021
For school-age children, the children’s play corner has to be replaced with a schoolchildren’s children’s corner with a bed and a table. Usually this is a multifunctional computer desk that directly includes a table top, cabinets or a cabinet with drawers, a rack with shelves, a place for a computer and other elements that provide a normal working environment. In such a corner, the sleeping place is usually located on the second tier, and the working area on the first.
Children’s corner with bed and table
Children’s corner with bed and table is the most popular type of corner, simply because this type of furniture is more practical. According to the age criterion, it is suitable for both children of primary school age and adolescents. In terms of structure, this is the most functional furniture that you can think of, assembled into a single structure. In addition to the bed and table, it is complemented by all kinds of cabinets, cabinets, shelves, in simply unthinkable combinations and variations.
One option is the loft bed which comes in a variety of designs and models. There are transformer models that allow you to change the configuration during the day. In particular, the bed-table allows the sleeping area to be removed under the countertop, thereby creating free space. An interesting furniture complex for a nursery with a podium is in demand, in which the working area with a table is located on a hill, and the bed is hidden in a niche of the podium, from which it can be pulled out at night. nine0003
How to choose a children’s corner?
When choosing a children’s corner, do not forget that children of different sexes have different needs. So if a loft bed can serve as a good option for a boy, then modular furniture with a lower berth is better for a girl. When buying, you should consider the color scheme of the furniture.
A children’s corner for a boy can be strict colors: brown, blue, green, but a children’s corner for a girl should be more joyful colors: pink, orange, light green, light green. nine0003
When buying a children’s corner, remember that this furniture is short-term use, just a few years, because your child is growing rapidly. If the child is already more or less large, look towards the children’s corner with a bed and a table. At what you should not spend money on expensive furniture made of MDF or solid wood, chipboard is quite suitable, as the optimal combination of quality and price.
Where can I buy a children’s corner?
Nowadays, buying a children’s corner is absolutely not a problem. Hundreds of furniture stores will offer you a huge range of such products of various quality and price. And if you decide to buy such a corner, you should not immediately go shopping, because even with your own transport, you can visit no more than 3-4 stores per day. And if you don’t find what you need, you’re wasting your time. nine0003
One way to solve this problem is to first look at the models of children’s corners available on the websites of online stores, and then, if you do not trust, go to the store and make a purchase.
Choose the corner model you like on the site, make an online payment and receive your order at the agreed time. Again, it will be delivered to you and collected by the store specialists.
The next option is to order a children’s corner for your child, directly from the manufacturer on his website or by phone. In this case, a specialist from a furniture manufacturing company will come to your home, make the necessary measurements, offer options for existing corners or make a sketch of a corner according to your desire and draw up a contract for manufacturing. Payment is made either in cash or by card. At the time specified in the contract, your corner will show off in the children’s room. nine0003
