About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Fishers Landing KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

Interactive Kindergarten (5–6 Years)

Kindergarten is a critical year for young learners. Experienced KinderCare teachers will
tap into your child’s natural curiosity to help get them even more prepared for
elementary school. Our engaging lessons make the most of current technology while
offering plenty of hands-on play and exploration.

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • I love the service that KinderCare provides for my child. I feel safe and at ease knowing my child is in great care. She loves the staff, center and room she is in. When I drop my daughter off I know she is happy and getting the best care.

    Keisha – KinderCare Parent
  • Our daughter has been in the program since she was 6 weeks old. As new parents we were so worried about leaving our baby that young. The love our baby received while at KinderCare was second to none. The teachers truly care about our daughter and our family. We were able to work with the teachers as our daughter grew and moved through bottles, cereal, baby food and eventually table food. The teachers were so great about getting our daughter moving. They gave her plenty of time to move her muscles, so her development was on track. They even did some painting and activities with our little princess and took pictures for us to see. We was so impressed that they were more than just a daycare even in the infant room and did activities with the baby. We often picked up while they read a book with her or simply playing on the floor with the kids. It has been clear from the beginning that every infant teacher loved the babies.

She has recently moved to the toddler room. Again, we were nervous about the transition, because there are so many changes from infant to toddlerhood. But again our expectations were far exceeded. The routine of the toddler room helped get our daughter into wonderful sleeping habits. She has become such an independent girl. She learns something new everyday from her new teachers, Ms Kate and Ms Nickie. Every day she is learning new words and trying her best to say them. She is always so excited to continue the learning she has started at school. We had no idea how much a toddler could soak up, but Ms Kate is always striving and teaching her new things. She has been an absolutely amazing teacher and genuinely cares about our daughter. This is the place our daughter started at 6 weeks old and it will be the care she is still receiving as she moves to the public school system and beyond.

John & Kati – KinderCare Parent
  • We started coming to KinderCare 2 years ago when our son had just turned 3 years old, and we recently moved to the area from the southside of Indianapolis. We visited other centers, but we knew right away that KinderCare was right for our family. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and our son joined right in with the the classroom activities during our inital visit. He is always excited to get to come and play with his friends and he absolutely loves all of his teachers! During the summer, there is always something fun going on for the kids and the curriculum is year round. KinderCare has been a life saver for us in preparing our son for Kindergarten. We know without a doubt that he is ready. We cannot imagine going anywhere else.

Jessica and Jamie – KinderCare Parent
  • My family began our journey with KinderCare in 2006 and almost 10 years later we are still here and loving every minute of it.  From the moment our son entered the infant room we felt a strong bond building with the teachers who cared for him everyday.   They have so much love to offer and the way they eased our nerves with the first time drops off was beyond amazing.  There were no feelings of regret about my wife returning to the workforce because we knew that the love and care he would be receiving was top notch.  We have a watched him grow from a little 3 month old into a 9 year old boy with so much enthusiasm to learn.  As we transitioned from room to room we made lasting relationships with new teachers and new parents.  The Director and Assistant Director are like a second family to us and we can count on them almost night and day!!  What’s even more impressive about this center is bringing our infant daughter into the same room almost 5 years later and being greeted by the SAME teachers our son had…you cannot find that in every center.  While new teachers have come on board we have been lucky to see a lot of the same faces and remain exceptionally close to those who have moved on.

There really are not enough positive things I can say about the center at Fishers Landing Dr. ..they have far exceeded my families expectations for early childhood education!!!

    Jim – KinderCare Parent
  • We are regularly surprised and impressed with the new things our preschooler learns at KinderCare.

Ed & Nancy – KinderCare Parent

The first start of the World Cup: revealing the secrets of ski acrobatics

Acrobatics is one of the oldest disciplines of freestyle, along with mogul and ski ballet, which has practically ceased to exist. The task of the athlete in this discipline is to perform acrobatic elements in the air after acceleration on the ski jump. The fundamental difference from the “new school” disciplines is that the athletes, even before the start of the attempt, declare what kind of jump they intend to perform. In one attempt, one jump is performed, a series of elements, such as, for example, in slopestyle or halfpipe, is not here.

See also

Steep turns, overtaking and football. What is ski cross and why is it spectacular and exciting? The most difficult programs with three somersaults are performed from a four-meter springboard. At the same time, athletes develop quite an impressive speed – the most difficult triple men’s jumps are made when taking off at a speed of 70 km / h. Athletes often perform double jumps, their speed is slightly less – about 60 km / h.

The discipline is very spectacular, but at the same time it is also traumatic – the guys wear only a helmet and goggles from protective equipment. “When children are just starting to go on ski jumps, they can use back protection and special shorts on the first jumps. Older guys, professional athletes, only have a helmet from such equipment,” the chairman of the coaching council of the Freestyle Federation of Russia (FFR) in the discipline of ski acrobatics told TASS Ilya Rybakov: “But we have a high amplitude of the jump, therefore, in order to avoid pinching, compression of the vertebrae and hernia, almost all athletes jump in weightlifting belts.

Maxim Burov

© EPA-EFE/TATYANA ZENKOVICH

Difficult discipline requires careful preparation, the training season for acrobats is almost year-round, except for short holidays at the end of spring. In spring and autumn, athletes work out programs in the trampoline hall and on the lounge, in summer they transfer them to water jumps, where they have the opportunity to try new elements, correct mistakes, and only after that they go out on the snow.

Water jumps are designed to provide maximum safety for the athlete. Landing in water is in any case much softer than on snow, but in professional complexes it is additionally softened. “So that the acrobat does not slam on hard calm water, like on asphalt, the landing zone is made with air blowing. Most of all, it looks like a huge Jacuzzi,” Rybakov explained.

There are no such professional water jumps in Russia, the nearest one is located in the Czech Republic. The same complexes exist in Switzerland, the USA, Canada and China.

Where to look and what to evaluate

At competitions, the final score for a jump is made up of three criteria – takeoff, form and landing. The form (the most performed in the air program) is half the mark, takeoff and landing give another 20 and 30%, respectively. Takeoff assessment – the moment the acrobat leaves the springboard – includes many nuances, because each team has its own unique technique. Someone makes a wave of his hand, someone straightens his legs and, as it were, additionally repels, and all this, in theory, is not considered a mistake. The form of the jump is evaluated by the amplitude, the height of the departure, the complexity and quality of the performance of the acrobatic elements, all somersaults and rotations must be completed to the end.

“Landing is the final part and, as we say, about 70% of success. Standing up means winning if the program was difficult. Although there are many nuances here too: how did you touch the snow – with your hand, back, skis, failed “, twisted, landed on his back first. It happens that an athlete landed on his feet, leaned back and then he was thrown back on his feet again, got up. This is not the worst landing option,” Rybakov explained.

Near the ski jumps, the coach of the performing team is always on duty, who watches the jump and shouts something to the already flying acrobat. It turns out that the coach evaluates the speed and direction of the wind, the speed of the athlete’s acceleration, the takeoff, and already in the course of the attempt tells the acrobat what is best to do in the air.

“If something went wrong – the wind blew, the person lacks speed, height, then the coach shouts: “Work!”, and the acrobat begins to group as much as possible in order to have time to do everything by landing. , for example, when an athlete is thrown very high, but a person hears a command and begins to pull his arms, legs like a cat, stretch out to the line, and now he is already soaring in the air so that he is put on his feet, and not twirled on the fourth or fifth somersault. If everything goes well, the coach is also not silent, says: “It’s good” so that the athlete does not start to invent something extra for himself, ”said Rybakov.

Trees, wind, fog

Acrobatics competitions take place outdoors and are very dependent on weather conditions. It is clear that all participants find themselves in the same conditions, but strong wind, fog and snowfall make it much more difficult for each athlete to perform the jump. To figure out how to catch a tailwind, or at least minimize its consequences, is also the task of a coach. Even before the start, he advises the acrobat to climb higher or, conversely, take a few steps down.

“Snow and fog are also difficult conditions for us, for example, they affect the snow cover. “, – said the interlocutor of TASS. – And of course, the view worsens, despite the fact that the athlete is wearing glasses. But just imagine – you are standing at the top, everything is white in front of you, there is nothing and nothing is visible, and only after two seconds of descent you see the outlines of the springboards And you think: “Oh, here they are, it turns out, that’s where you need to jump from.” Well, the coach can’t see the athlete who is approaching, it’s more difficult to suggest something.

During close-ups on television broadcasts, you can see that not only snow, but also small spruce branches fly out from under the acrobats’ skis. They are scattered there for a reason and did not attack from the trees at all.

“We have this slang word ‘lost’, and it’s actually a very scary situation. We often perform in non-sunny weather, and after so many somersaults and turns, a person can get confused where he has the sky and where the earth is. Feelings something like at great depths, when you don’t know where to emerge. To prevent this from happening, we scatter spruce twigs, mark the place of landing.Of course, there are no large branches, so as not to interfere with the exit and not scratch the skis, but we try to pour small soft spruce branches on the track every time the athletes go to jump,” Rybakov said.

New season, new tasks

Acrobatics was included in the program of the Olympic Games back in 1994, during which time the Russians won two bronze medals – in 2006 the award went to Vladimir Lebedev, in 2018 to Ilya Burov. But at the last world championship, Maxim Burov became the winner, Lyubov Nikitina won the silver medal in the women’s competition, in the team mixed doubles Burov, Lyubov and Stanislav Nikitin won bronze.

This season there will be neither the Winter Olympic Games nor the World Championship, which takes place every two years. The main start for athletes is the World Cup, two of which will be held in Russia. On January 25, the competition will take place in Moscow, on March 8, acrobats will compete in Krasnoyarsk.

According to Rybakov, the current season is also very important and should help Russian acrobats gain the necessary experience. “The coaching staff wants to run programs that are as close as possible to the Olympic ones. The main thing now is to gain experience, including psychological experience. Many new guys, young athletes have appeared in the national team, especially in the female part of the team,” he said.

According to the functionary, a single recipe for who wins medals in acrobatics – young or experienced, has not yet been brought out. “Experience means a lot, you can jump a good program, but sometimes even the most talented lose their nerves, and most often this happens at the Olympics,” Rybakov believes. “I observe this situation at the last three Olympic Games. The Pyeongchang Olympics were not the first for Ilya Burov, who won a medal, or for Pavel Krotov, who became fourth. People win the second or third Olympiad, but I don’t remember anything like that on the first try.”

The next Winter Olympic Games will be held in China, so the Chinese are one of the main competitors of Russian acrobats. “Before the Olympics, the Chinese team invited specialists from Canada, Russia, the United States, they have very strong training. Also among the leaders in acrobatics are Belarusians who have not left any Olympics without medals. Noe Roth is a very serious athlete now in Switzerland, who at the World Championships, he helped his team win team competitions. So the fight in acrobatics will be interesting, no one can be discounted,” the TASS interlocutor concluded.

Proper actions in case of fire is one of the most important tasks facing the inspectors of the federal state fire supervision when educating the public about fire safety requirements.

Thus, the head of the supervision and preventive work department of the Komsomolsky district, together with employees of the 11th fire and rescue unit, conducted a training evacuation in kindergarten No. 17 “Belochka” in the village of Pistsovo, Komsomolsky district.

“The results of the evacuation showed that the employees and pupils of the kindergarten know the sequence of actions during the evacuation and in the event of a real threat they will be able to safely evacuate the building,” says Oleg Plotitsyn.

At the end of the evacuation, an employee of the State Fire Supervision Service reminded about compliance with fire safety requirements in the summer, also in the form of a game, told the children the basic fire safety requirements, reminded that it was forbidden to take matches and lighters in hand, drew attention to the fact that when it was smoke, you couldn’t hide in the closet or under the bed.

After the end of the preventive conversation, the children were given riddles on fire-fighting topics in order to check how the students assimilated the told material. All the children tried to unanimously answer the security riddles, actively raised their hands and gave the correct answers.

Why Are You a Good Fit for This Job? (Example Answers Included)

By Mike Simpson

There you are, sitting across from the hiring manager, answering questions like a boss. Then, the hiring manager hits you with, “Why are you a good fit for this job?”

Suddenly, you’re dumbfounded – and secretly hoping you didn’t just look at them like they spontaneously grew a third head. After all, the hiring manager’s seen your resume. They know you’re a great fit, right? Otherwise, why would they bring you in for an interview?

Well, there’s a bit more behind this interview question. So, if you’re wondering why the hiring manager would ask you, “Why would you be a good fit for this position?” and how to answer it, here’s what you need to know.

What Is the Meaning of “Fit?”

Before we dig into how to answer “Why are you a good fit for this job?” let’s take a step back a second and talk about what “fit” even means here.

The folks at Merriam-Webster define fit as “acceptable from a particular viewpoint.” Well, that doesn’t help a ton, but it does start to shape the picture.

Think of it this way. A company is like a giant jigsaw puzzle. Every employee is a piece of that puzzle, coming together to create the picture. A vacant position is a missing piece, a hole in that picture. The hiring manager’s job is to fill that hole.

Ultimately, in the context of this question, fit is mainly about being that right puzzle piece. It’s how your skills, experience, and interests match the duties and responsibilities of the job, as well as the company’s culture.

Why Does the Hiring Manager Ask This Question?

During an interview, every question usually serves a purpose. So, why would a hiring manager include “Why are you a good fit for this job?” in their list of interview questions.

We get that this question can feel a little silly. Your resume does give them insights into your skillset and experience. However, the hiring manager wants to know more about how what you bring to the table lines up with the role.

Additionally, the hiring manager needs to identify the best candidate in the bunch. They are hoping you’ll say something that separates you from the pack, making their decision easier.

Another main goal is seeing if you’ll mesh with the company’s culture. Overall, 87 percent of companies say that culture and engagement is one of the biggest challenges they face, so the hiring manager needs to find a good fit.

Plus, by asking this interview question, they get to test your research and listening skills. That’s right; it’s a surprise motive!

You can’t craft a great answer if you don’t know enough about the job description and company. The hiring manager is testing what you know. How sneaky.

So, the hiring manager is asking you this question for all of the reasons above. They want to make sure you’re the perfect match, and this question helps them figure that out.

Common Mistakes When Answering This Question

As with all interview questions, certain mistakes can completely derail your chances of landing a position. When it comes to answering “Why are you a good fit for this job?” there are a few doozies you want to avoid.

First, when you answer this interview question, focusing on anything other than the “fit” part of the equation is a misstep. This isn’t the same as answering “Why should we hire you?” or a similar question that’s more open.

You really have to drill into why what you bring to the table aligns with this specific job. If you aren’t addressing the must-have skills and experience you found in the job description, you’re missing the mark.

Second, not showing that you understand the company’s needs is a big no-no. You need to demonstrate that you know what the company and job are all about, referencing specific details from your research.

Finally, simply rehashing your resume and cover letter isn’t going to do it. You need to use examples that highlight your relevant capabilities. Otherwise, your answer is going to land in bland territory.

Remember, this is just one question the hiring manager could ask you in your interview! That’s why we created an amazing free cheat sheet that will give you word-for-word answers for some of the toughest interview questions you are going to face in your upcoming interview.

Tips for Answering This Question

Alright, we know you’re here for some great example answers and we promise those are coming. But first, how about some handy tips that can help you create your own answers?

With these tips, you can get a solid understanding of how to respond to this interview question. It allows you to use out example answers as frameworks and then adjust them to meet your needs. Awesome, right?

So, without further ado, here are three tips for answering “Why are you a good fit for this job?”

1. Mention Specific Core Duties

Ideally, you want to mention a few specifics in your answer. Head to the job description and review the highest priority requirements or duties. Then, work those into your response, addressing them directly.

MIKE’S TIP: Not sure which duties or requirements are the highest priority in the hiring manager’s eyes? Well, one of the easiest ways to figure it out is to look at the top of any bulleted lists in the job description. Usually, the most important skills, traits, and responsibilities spring to mind first when the hiring manager is creating the job description. As a result, they end up at the top of the lists. So, when in doubt, start at the top and work your way down.

2. Reference the Company Mission or Values

When it comes to “fit,” it’s about more than the job itself. You also need to show that you’ll mesh with the company’s culture. How do you do that? By discussing part of the company’s mission or values that really speak to you.

In most cases, you can find a company’s mission and values statements on its website. In some cases, they’ll be included in the job description, too, so you can look there as well.

3. Be Enthusiastic

When you’re answering this interview question, enthusiasm is your friend. If you seem hesitant or blasé about your answer, the hiring manager might think that you’re not all that into the job. That’s no good.

In the end, a little bit of excitability can work in your favor here. So, choose points that really bring a smile to your face, ensuring you come across as an engaged, passionate candidate.

How to Answer the Interview Question “Why Are You a Good Fit for This Job?”

Alright, let’s dig into the nitty-gritty of how to answer “Why are you a good fit for this job?” First, it’s important to understand that this is an open-ended interview question that doesn’t have an official “right” answer.

Instead, being “right” means showcasing yourself as a great match to the role and company. Plus, you need to make your answer as compelling as possible.

So, how do you do all that? Well, by using the Tailoring Method. In fact, the Tailoring Method is ridiculously perfect for this interview question. It’s all about crafting custom answers that really speak to the job you’re trying to land. If now isn’t the time to bust it out, when is?

Now that you have a general idea of how to answer this interview question, it’s time for some samples. Here are three example responses to “Why would you be a good fit for this job?” that each use slightly different approaches.

1.

Start with Duties

With this approach, you begin your answer by discussing core duties you found in the job description. While you still want to discuss culture-fit, this strategy can work best if the job ad focused heavily on the role’s responsibilities, as that indicates that may be the hiring manager’s biggest priority.

EXAMPLE ANSWER:

“In the job description, I noticed there were several references to high production standards and working in a fast-paced environment. In my previous manufacturing position, our targets were always challenging. The goal was to hone efficiency, ensuring we could exceed expectations at every juncture.

As a result, I dedicated myself to learning the technical skills I needed to thrive. This included everything from safety protocols to machine operation, ensuring I could perform the duties correctly and quickly.

Not only did I grow my production and assembly skills, but I thrived in the fast-paced environment. I have a track record of exceeding production goals by 10 percent, often making myself the top performer on my team.

However, I understand that personal performance is only part of the equation. Just as your company values teamwork, I believe that part of my strength comes from my colleagues. As a result, I consisted worked to help them excel, acting as a mentor to new hires and offering my support whenever the need arose.

Together, I believe that makes me an exceptional fit for this role.”

2. Lead with Culture

At times, company culture actually takes center stage in a job description. Usually, you’ll see a lot of references to the work environment and personality in the job posting, showing that culture is potentially a higher priority than technical prowess.

Now, it isn’t that you don’t want to talk about your hard skills. Instead, it’s simply that you want to lead off with references to the company’s mission, values, and culture.

EXAMPLE ANSWER:

“When I was looking for opportunities, one of the factors that led me to apply for this position was the company’s values. ABC Corp. believes in supporting its community and putting its customers first, a perspective that is very much like my own.

In my last customer service position, my goal was always to exceed expectations. Going the extra mile to solve customer problems and make things right is essential in my eyes. Not only does it ensure they have a better experience, but it also boosts retention and the company’s brand. Ultimately, that’s a win-win.

However, it isn’t my mentality alone that makes me an exceptional fit for this job. I also have extensive customer service experience in your industry, as well as knowledge of contact center technologies, trouble ticket systems, and troubleshooting techniques, making me a great match for the position.

3. Solve a Problem

If you have the ability to use this approach, it can be a smart move. With the problem-solver angle, you focus on a challenge the company is facing that this role can solve. Then, you highlight how you can be the answer to that conundrum, showcasing your value in that specific way.

Throughout your answer, you’ll touch on hard and soft skills that would allow you to help the company overcome its troubles. Additionally, you can squeeze in a bit about culture-fit, rounding out your response.

EXAMPLE ANSWER:

“Based on my research, I gleaned that one of the biggest priorities for this position is to help the company recapture sales losses due to COVID-19. It was certainly a hard-hit sector, and it’s a challenge that I’m surprisingly familiar with.

In my past position, our sales team experienced pandemic-related declines in customer interest. As part of the marketing team, my goal was to adjust the product’s position. Showcasing its value in the current landscape meant a departure from the tried-and-true approaches of the past. However, innovative-thinking was necessary, ensuring any losses could be recovered.

Ultimately, my campaign adjustments did the trick, leading to sales reaching pre-COVID numbers in just a few months. I feel that I can use similar techniques to identify opportunities in the market that can allow your company to experience the same gains, making me a great fit for this position and the company’s overall goals.”

Putting It All Together

Ultimately, all of the tips above can help you answer “Why are you a good fit for this job?” in a way that captures the hiring manager’s attention. Use them to your advantage. That way, you can shine and, in the end, increase your odds of landing the position.

Good luck!

How to answer the question “Why should we hire you?” at the interview

“Why should we hire you?” is another common question, the answer to which can harm you if not carefully considered. With it, you can sell your skills and experience, which are regarded as a commodity in the labor market. Why should a customer buy them?

Wrong way

Spencer replies: “Because I need this job and I want to work.” That’s great, but the subtext of the question is, “What can you do for us?”

Marianne replies: “I am a hard worker and really want to work for this company. ” Many people consider themselves hardworking, but why here?

The right way

Answering the same question, Tom says: “Because I’m a good fit for this job.” Already warmer, but we could use some extra details.

Sharon reports: “I have all the qualities needed to solve problems and complete tasks.” And this is by far the best option. Open it up and you’ll get the perfect answer.

Formulate an offer

The more detailed you describe your “product”, the better. Don’t talk about your needs. Summarize your accomplishments and talk about what sets you apart from other candidates.

Careful preparation

The subtext of the question is: “What can you do for our company?”

Pay attention to the job description. What are the requirements of a potential employer? What qualities should an employee have? Make a detailed list

and determine your degree of compliance with each of the requirements. Highlight two or three skills that you can focus on. Do not underestimate the personal qualities that make you stand out from the crowd. Report personality type, work style and ability to communicate effectively if this information is of any value.

Worthy advertising

Combine the list of requirements with your proposal and write a short summary. This is another way to advertise yourself. Answering a question that reveals your uniqueness and strengths should not take more than two minutes.

Example: “From the previous discussion, I understand that you are looking for someone who can quickly get on the job and take some responsibility. In addition, you obviously have some difficulties with database management systems. I worked with DBMS for 7 years of financial data saved my previous employer thousands of dollars by streamlining their structure I am energetic and able to learn quickly so I can grasp problems on the fly Colleagues say I can work collaboratively while maintaining a positive attitude and coming up with new ideas I remain calm in stressful situations, so you can always count on me. I am sure that I will become a worthy member of your team.”

What makes you different from other applicants?

By formulating the answer to this question, you will be able to determine your unique qualities. All people are different, like snowflakes. Think about what makes you different from others.

The interlocutor must understand that you have understood the essence of the problem and are the key to solving it.

When you arrive for an interview, you are asked about your experience and skills. But are you ready to clearly say why the company needs you and why you are better than other candidates?

“Let me tell you what I could do for the company in my future position”

This is the best answer, but only on the condition that in subsequent sentences you do not describe the process (for example, “I will come to work on time, I will build friendly relationships, etc.), and you will focus on a specific and measurable result that the employer will receive from you. In this case, you do not come to ask for money, status, salary – you offer specific solutions to specific problems of the employer, and in this case, the salary is a well-deserved reward for the result.

“I can bring real value to the company”

In fact, the employer does not care what knowledge, skills and abilities you have, it is important for him how you can apply them and what exactly you can do for the company. It’s also a good idea to clarify how this benefit will be expressed – for example, “I will be able to increase sales” or “I will be able to increase your brand awareness. ” In addition, such an answer speaks of you as a result-oriented person who understands the essence of doing business.

“I have the knowledge and experience necessary for this job”

This answer shows you meet the formal requirements. But imagine that other candidates may have the same knowledge and experience. You need to show the employer why they should hire you, in other words, show your competitive advantages and value. In addition to relevant knowledge and experience, many companies also pay attention to the candidate’s compliance with the corporate culture, his personal qualities, and motivation.

“I am very hardworking, punctual and stress resistant”

This is not an answer to the question. Of course, diligence, punctuality and stress resistance are important qualities, but they do not determine whether a person is suitable for a position or not. It is rather an addition, and it is based on the competence of a person, his knowledge, motivation and understanding of how to solve business problems. In addition, each position has its own priorities, and it so happens that really hardworking and punctual employees lack the creativity that is needed in their work.

“I have long dreamed of a job in which I can fully realize myself, and I think that this is exactly such a job”

The employee completed the assigned tasks. The applicant needs to show that his self-realization is based on the fulfillment of prescribed duties and the achievement of goals, which, in turn, will contribute to the development of the company.

“Because I am a valuable worker!”

In such an answer I hear the message: “There is no one better than me, if you do not take me, you will make a terrible mistake.” Threat strike. If you are so valuable, then why didn’t you stay in the last place?

“Because I really need this job”

The employer is not interested. The company has its own tasks, and you will be hired to solve them. Even if you really really need this job, do not lose dignity. Do not say that this is your last chance, but do not talk down. The best option is to take a partner position and discuss what you and the company can give each other.

I just wanted to let you know as a parent who had 2 girls go to little flower from the ages of 2 till they went to school. The program is wonderful, so diverse, with a family style atmosphere with structure and you can leave feeling confident they will be well looked after and also be safe.. She teaches them all the educational skills, but just as important, she taught them manners, how to make good choices, dancing, singing, plays, Musical instruments, acting, foreign language, cooking (without heat of course), gardening, Birthday parties lots of parent interaction and lots of shows and presentations that give your children something to be proud of, as well as building their confidence, self-esteem, and character. Believe me sit in on one of the sessions and you will leave thinking it is the brightest room you ever saw. As a testimonial of sorts I will report that my girls, one is 19 now she is in her 3rd semester of college for nursing school, she is on the deans list every semester, Is president of her coed fraternity, has worked part time since she was 15 never calling in sick or being late one time and now she is 19 . She has always paid her car insurance and phone so to learn how to start managing money before college. As they grew I saw things in them I knew they learned from Eliana. Once Starr won a bicycle at a fair and there were alot of children, her bike was very old, and when she went up to accept her prize to my amazement she gave it back saying at least I have a bicycle please give it to another child. Oh did I mention we are a low income family, I am a single mom now for 13 years. I know the prices are high in DC and I am sure its not any cheaper at other schools at least the ones that would be acceptable. She offers everything from before school care programs to full day, half day and after school care. When we moved there we searched everywhere for the 5 stars school we could afford. And found Little Flower to go beyond what I was hoping to find..The other great thing is she only takes a small amount of children and always has a wait list she will not over crowd the classes. My other child Raine has played the cello for 7 yrs now, she volunteers on Saturdays at the soup kitchen where we live now, she is counselor at the park district summer camp teaching kids in the loving but disciplined way she was taught. I am sure she may be a teacher of some type. Raine just got her license Sat. and without any coaching from me gave me some money to save for her insurance. All through school they both were on honor roll almost every semester, student of the month, and always looked forward to school. She also influenced me by being a example that there is nothing you can’t do if you work for it, I graduated May 17 this year with my associates degree in Surgical Technology and I am 53. We are the family that donated the wooden swing set with the tower swings etc. It is very hard in the center of DC to find property’s with the outdoor space and many have playrooms inside. Since the front yard is also fenced in with a 6ft fence the children get to play out in the sun and also explore a bit of nature. No my kids nor am I perfect but I know for a fact that the excellent education and loving care they received in those years has greatly influenced the type of young women they are becoming. wow I didn’t mean to write so much but I just started writing from the heart. So please excuse my spelling and grammar as I wrote this so quickly before I have to go to work. It is a little jewel in the heart of the big city but I guarantee your child will be well looked after while gaining not only a education but real life skills you may not notice some of them till they are grown. <3

Prior to working with us at the Cradle Club, Allie has nannied for multiple families and has worked at other centers with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers as well. As a mother to three boys of her own, Allie wholeheartedly understands the emotions each parent experiences when choosing a home-away-from-home for their child or children. Because of this, Allie has become truly passionate about guiding each of our families to know and understand all of the outstanding things that The Cradle Club has to offer them. If you asked her, Allie would tell you that her favorite thing about her role is that she loves that she is able to get to know each child’s individual personality in order to provide the safest and healthiest environment she can for them.

Beginning her career at the Cradle Club as a teacher in 2008, she has experience working with children ages infants to preschool and has developed a deep understanding of what excellence in care and education looks like for all. Her home has been a wonderful environment for our daughter. My now 5 month old gives the biggest smile as soon as we arrive every morning, which puts my mind at ease as a new mom.
We get regular updates from her and they keep track of all the feedings, diaper changes and naps throughout the day so I can quickly and easily keep her on schedule after pickup.

The owner and her team are wonderful. I had been waiting for care on base and it wasn’t happening; a friend recommended this provider and I couldn’t be happier. my daughter (started at 7 months) has been well taken care of, happy, and is excited to see her every day. It’s very evident they love what they do and want the best for the kids in their care.

The owner runs a trustable, safe, and reliable home day care! We truly feel that our child is loved and taken care of when she is in her hands. I would recommend to anyone, especially with an extremely busy schedule as we have. Her hours are fantastic and she does such a great job with her babies and toddlers!

I love this provider with all my heart. She cares for my daughter like she cares for her own grandkids, and she treats us all like family. This provider is also very responsive anytime I need to contact her.
She helped us make many transitions from infant things (swaddles, bottles) to toddler things (solids, two-to-one nap/day). My daughter literally jumps out of my hands to get down to play when I drop her off. I cannot advocate more strongly… more

I cannot say enough great things about this daycare. The provider is loving, caring, and nurturing. My son had been at a different in-home care center before we moved him to her and he absolutely blossomed. My daughter has been with her since Day 1 and is flourishing. She lets kids be kids – they run and play and have fun – but also ensures that they know their letters, number, colors, and songs. They have never cried at drop-off and instead run… more

As new parents it was important to find a provider that would give us the reassurance our son would be safe, happy and healthy. The provider treated our son like he was one of their own. Over the two years we were there they became family and my son loved every minute. He was always so excited to go to daycare. Some days I think he would have preferred to stay. I never doubted my son was in the best hands, and loved.

We cannot recommend this provider and the lovely ladies here enough. Our daughter has been coming here since she was a couple months old, and she has the best time there. The providers treat her like family and truly love her. We know she is safe and happy during the day, and that she is learning and playing with her little buddies there. Moreover, we know she is being treated like family throughout the day.

This provider and her team are simply amazing! We had our daughter here from 12 weeks until 11 months when we sadly moved out of state. I am positive we would’ve kept her there until she aged out if we had stayed in the area.

The facilities are always clean, they keep the kids on a daily schedule (which was important for us) and there is tons of learning/play activities. We also liked that she was in a mixed age environment as we believe this… more

We are first time parents so it was really a big concern to find a daycare where safety, happiness and well-being of the child were most important. This daycare was our last stop in the evening during our hunt for daycare and as soon as we met her, we realized this was the place for our kid and that we could not have found a better place. Our son was in this daycare from November 2016 – June 2017; after which we had to change daycare owing to… more

As a law enforcement family, it was very important for us to find safe child care for our daughter provided by people that we could trust. We searched private, small day cares in our area and were so happy to find this one! As a transplant to the DMV area I didn’t have any family nearby to help when my LO arrived. Needing to head straight to work after a short maternity leave I was very nervous about leaving my world with people that were both unfamiliar to me and my little guy. In a short time this provider and her wonderful team became my LO extended family and every morning upon our arrival he smiles widely and can’t wait for one of the ladies to give him his… more

As a first time parent going back to work your primary concern is the safety and well-being of your most precious gift in the world, right? Upon touring this place and subsequently choosing this provider. , Cookie, and Birke for care for my son, I am confident we could not have made a better choice. First and foremost, I used the Va Dept of Social Services site to research daycares’ violations and this place had minimal to none, which is unheard of. And second, I was looking for a “home away from home,” since my parents live on the other side of the country.
The owner is like a grandmother to my infant and I actually feel like she and her staff are family. I toured about a dozen home daycares and this is the only one that resembled… more

My mother was planning to help us watch our son as I returned to work after my maternity leave, but unfortunately, my mother had been in a car accident and was unable to help. As you can imagine, the waitlist for infant daycare can range from 8-18 months, so, as a new mother, I was stressed that I would not find a safe, loving and nurturing environment for my newborn son. We visited a number of centers and we interviewed several people for… more

The closest family my husband and I have are over two hours away, so finding this daycare was so comforting to us – the owner provides amazing care for our daughter, and has since she was 8 weeks old. She loves our daughter as much as we do – honestly, this owner and her team are more than just childcare providers, they are an extension of our family that we love to see and couldn’t be happier with!

I have had my son in this provider’s care since he was 9 months old and couldn’t be happier. As a first time mom, I was terrified at the thought of leaving my child somewhere when it was time for me to go back to work; however, she eased that fear and immediately took him in as a member of her own family. Description

Line house 11.2 marked the beginning of the construction of the last quarter in Gröna Lund – “Maple Grove”.

In line 11.2 you will find apartments with a combined kitchen and living room space, saunas, large balconies and private gardens. Thanks to the large windows in the apartments there will always be a lot of light, especially on the top floor – where the windows start almost from the floor itself.

Gröna Lund is a lively and populated quarter, where everything you need for everyday activities is on the territory of the complex. A kindergarten, a shop, a family club, a beauty salon and a cafe are already open here. With a guided tour of the Gröna Lund project and grounds, you can truly appreciate all the benefits of living here.

About the house

  • About the location

The complex is located in one of the most beautiful corners of Vsevolozhsk – on the slope of the Rumbolovskaya mountain. Feel all the benefits of country life just 11 km from the Ring Road. Gröna Lund is surrounded by nature: there is a forest nearby, several lakes and a forest park right across the road. In addition, Rumbolovo and its surroundings will not be boring, because there are many opportunities for entertainment and sports at any time of the year.

    Inspection routes around Gröna Lund

  • About improvement

Half of the area of the residential complex is occupied by green areas. At Gröna Lund, we have preserved and emphasized the features of the landscape – natural rocks and hilly terrain. When developing the design concept, we tried to take into account all the details, preserve the living beauty of nature and only slightly supplement it. For pleasant communication and relaxation with neighbors and friends, we have created a good-neighborly center with an outdoor cinema, gazebos, an orchard and an outdoor work area.

    More about the landscape concept

  • Security and convenience

The houses are located in a private area with video surveillance and access control systems. Each front door has bike racks. On the ground floor of each house there are individual pantries. Thanks to the panoramic windows in the front door there will always be a lot of light. OTIS elevators are installed in the houses at the entrance level – this provides unhindered access to the elevator without climbing stairs.

  • Apartments with saunas

For spa lovers, we have provided apartments with completely finished saunas in all houses: walls and ceilings are lined with aspen clapboard, the floor is tiled, benches, a glass door and a Harvia electric stove are installed. Imagine how great it will be to relax in your own sauna after an evening walk in the forest. Our separate pride is the ladder in the bathrooms, because the shower room should be not only functional, but also beautiful.

  • Your perfect balcony

Terraces and balconies are the pride of the Gröna Lund project. Our clients often call the balcony their favorite place in the house. Due to its large area (6–12 m²) and a depth of 1.7 meters, the balcony can become a place for relaxation, breakfast, creativity, morning yoga, and the terrace can even become a vegetable garden. Already output electricity will create the right lighting for any activity. A beautiful balcony does not want to be used as a warehouse at all.

    Fascinating balcony science

  • Quality of finishing

The quality of our finishing is noted by both clients and employees of apartment acceptance companies. Today, all the apartments are ready, and you can personally check it out. Internal strict production control requirements and high standards allow us to achieve the transfer of almost 100% of the apartments at the first meeting with the buyer and external acceptance specialist. Our corners are always 90 degrees, there are no scratches on the glass, and all joints are perfectly aligned.

    White decoration by Bonava

  • About infrastructure

Everything you need for everyday activities is already on the territory of the complex: a shop, a kindergarten, areas for walking, relaxing and barbecue, a beauty salon, a cafe, sports and children’s playgrounds. The internal territory is closed from unauthorized cars and passers-by, and is also equipped with video surveillance and access control systems. For cars, open parking is provided, and for two-wheeled vehicles, bicycle parking is installed at each front door.

  • Awards and certificates Gröna Lund

We are proud of the list of our achievements, because behind each award and diploma there is a lot of work, responsibility and love for what we do.

All Texas public school districts and campuses that would have received a D or F rating instead received the label “Not Rated: SB 1365.” In addition, not all schools and districts are rated because some are alternative education programs and treatment facilities.

The Brilliant Seducer read online by Christine Monson (Page 9)

— Don’t… Anne-Lise, you don’t know what you’re doing to me. Your father made me responsible…

“You must admit that my father made you mine too…” When he looked puzzled, she added tenderly: “Father saw that we were both alone. I need someone to look after me, and you also need someone to look after you.

His gaze became thoughtful.

“I understand,” he said at last. “I don’t know what your father had in mind, but we’re the wrong couple.

— I myself did not understand his intentions until today.

Derek sat.

– Whatever he thought, he did not mean that you would be involved in a love affair with me. I scolded Robert for taking such liberties with you.

“Robert’s intentions were much more honest than yours,” she said calmly. He never lied about his feelings.

– Do you think I’m pretending?

“I know about the harem behind your house in Kanpur,” she replied.

— What do you care? he objected.

“But I am a woman,” she retorted, “even if I am a priest’s daughter.

He gave a short laugh.

– You have no idea what it means to be a woman. You barely graduated from high school.

— The school exists for learning. She reached out to him again, her eyes glowing with a gentle call: “Teach me…”

“I can’t,” he breathed. It’s hard to stop at one lesson.

She smiled.

– Has it ever occurred to you that maybe I can teach you something new too?

He grinned.

— To be honest, no.

This time Anne-Lise’s eyes shimmered with challenge.

— Would you like to make sure that I am not like any woman you have known, my lord? Don’t be shy and modest like a lamb!

He kissed her hard and with such insistence that she dispelled all her doubts about his feelings. Anne-Lise’s head went round at the shudder that ran between them. She leaned back, her chest heaving in response to his kisses. Derek was a seasoned man, but Anne-Lise’s sincerity and tenderness disarmed him. Her lips were wine, they were life, a light that gave Derek hope that his suffering would soon end. He kissed Anne-Lise as if she were hope itself, the promise of a day filled with triumphant happiness. The sun shone through the maple leaves, showering them with specks of shimmering gold.

VII

Communication

That evening Derek enjoyed listening to Anne-Lise playing Chopin for the first time in a long time. Robert was not there: he had left for a meeting in the morning for the elections to the House of Lords. Derek longed to be in his shoes. However, it is useless now to think about all the things in life that he should have done to satisfy his ambition, but failed. However, he must not make one mistake. He should not cross the line to which he came too close: to enter into a relationship with the young and careless Anne-Lise. She is so trusting, so tender, and he almost dragged her into a whirlpool of passion! He felt her lips on his even now; seductive, suggestive that all he could get from his mistress … But what will he give her in return? A love affair that will end for her only in misfortune and disappointment. And then Marian, stormy and strong-willed Marian, still reigned in his heart. He could not, and did not want to drive Marian out of his thoughts, but he often caught himself that Anne-Lise quickly took her place. When Anne-Lise wasn’t around, Derek got bored. Anne-Lise was like the wind, elusive, cold, swirling around him and then disappearing. After leaving the garden, she again became serious and unfamiliar.

“Anne-Lise,” he said calmly when she finished playing, “we need to talk.”

Carefully, she lowered the lid of the piano and waited.

“I must apologize,” he began firmly. “I should never have kissed you today.

– Maybe we can talk about something? I kissed you…but I don’t regret it at all.” She smiled softly. “I have wanted to kiss you for a long time.

“Anne-Lise,” his voice hardened. “You must not confuse a rush of passion with love. I’m not fit for you or any other woman. The future that is in store for me is disappointing to share with anyone I care about. My last act of courage will be to erase from my memory the intention to violate your innocence.

— I am not a blind animal that you must herd all your life. Someday I’ll be a woman anyway, whether you’re my teacher or not. As for pity, I don’t think I’m wasting it unwisely. You are a good person, and weakness does not detract from your merits. The Derek Clavel I care about didn’t die in Kibera.

– No, he died, but later – when he attacked his own brother – Derek took his crutches and walked to the library doors. “Don’t hope for a future with me, Anne-Lise. He is not.

“You will have a future, Derek,” she announced, looking after him.

– And whether I’m going to share it with you or not is my business.

The next day Derek got himself a nurse from Brighton and politely but firmly forbade Ann-Lise to come to him until he called her. He no longer asked her to play or read to him, refused all the little services she used to perform. Although he soon realized that together they could give each other peace, apart they were unprotected and completely lonely.

Derek had been quiet lately but behaved as usual, but Anne-Lise, Robert soon noticed, had changed a lot. She seemed to wither, like a bright wild flower that has bloomed too soon and the last frost of winter has killed it. Not knowing what had happened between her and her brother, Robert attributed her sadness to his neglect of her. Hoping to entertain Anne-Lise, one bright morning when they were walking in the park, he invited her to accompany him to London, where he went on business.

– Would you like to go shopping, sightseeing? We’re staying at my Aunt Gertrude’s so even Derek can’t say it’s indecent.

– Well, of course, I’ll be happy to go. I have been thinking about a trip to London for several days now. When are we leaving?

Surprised that she agreed so quickly, he was taken aback.

— Well… I think the day after tomorrow. Do you want to ask Derek?

— No. For what?

— Well, then maybe I’ll talk to him myself.

– As you wish.

Derek’s outburst of rage confused Robert.

“That’s right,” Derek muttered, clutching his head as he scolded Robert. “She can go, but I’m sending a note to Lady Gertrude Downing asking her to help find a permanent home for this little rebel. You, – he fixed an evil look on his brother, will settle in a hotel.

The trip to London was not as fun as Robert had hoped. He expected to have a pleasant time alone with Anne-Lise, but she immediately took on a friendly but reserved tone.

“Robert,” she said firmly, “you are now a baron. And there can be no return to the past. I learned a lesson, to my regret: one kiss does not create an attachment for life.

Robert thought she meant his kiss on the boat. Remembering the gentle, soft touch of her lips under an umbrella in a boat floating on the river, he protested:

– But, Anne-Lise, although I may have paid little attention to you lately, distracted by business, I never forgot you and that kiss.

“That’s not the point,” she answered calmly. “I am accompanying you to London, not to continue our relationship, but to visit an old friend of my father’s, Professor Sanderville. When I was little – I was only twelve years old, we lived in China, and he stayed in our house for several months. He was supposed to be my guardian if my father hadn’t met Derek. Professor Sanderville does not yet know about the death of his father, and it is better if he hears this sad news for him from me.

Professor Sanderville, a small man with snow-white mutton cutlet whiskers and bright blue eyes shining like marbles, trembled with delight when he saw Anne-Lise on his doorstep. He accepted the sad news of the death of William Devon courageously – only two tears rolled down his rosy cheeks. There was no end to the professor’s questions. After tea and biscuits, Anne-Lise finally decided to make a request to him.

“I would like to rent the most inexpensive apartment,” she told him, “and even then only for a few months. I want to wait out the rainy season before returning to India. My father and I thought that travel at this time was impossible.

– Why don’t you stay with me and then go to India with me in September? asked Professor Sanderville. “You may have difficulty with the young Clavel brothers, whom you will put in a difficult position … but no one can accuse me of secret intentions. I’m old enough to be your grandfather. Too bad William died so young. “To Martin Sanderville, anyone under forty looked like a youth.

At the same time, on the other side of the city, the regal gray-haired Lady Annabelle Gertrude Downing was saying to Robert:

– You should send Anne-Lise Devon to live with me. I don’t want you and Derek fighting over her, I must say, for no reason. You are both spoiled and too used to doing things your way. That poor chicken in Claremore is not likely to escape being plucked by his feathers.

When Anne-Lise arrived from Professor Sanderville and was introduced by Robert to Lady Gertrude, she doubted the correctness of her nickname “poor chicken”.

“Good afternoon, Lady Annabelle,” Anne-Lise said with a little curtsey. “I’m so glad to finally meet you.

Lady Gertrude patted her cheek gently.

– You are charming. Now I understand why my nephews are so passionate about you.

“They are only interested in me as a sister,” Anne-Lise corrected her calmly, “because they were kind to me like older brothers.

“I doubt if their intentions were only brotherly,” said Lady Gertrude, no longer so kindly. “Their habits are all too well known to me.

— I find them the best and most respectful hosts, Lady Annabelle. My father would have nothing to reproach them with.

No, Lady Gertrude thought, it’s good that he died in time and doesn’t see it.

“A very self-possessed young lady,” she remarked to Robert after Anne-Lise had gone into the room prepared for her to change for tea. It’s a shame she’s from the common people. She would have made a fine baroness. She patted Robert on the shoulder with her fan. “You can be quite sure that I will do everything to get her out of Claremore.

“Just not very far, aunt,” said Robert, looking mischievously at her. “Sussex lacks suitable baronesses.

Lady Gertrude, not without irony, asked:

— Has Marian Longstreet gone to Scotland?

— Of course not. But she and Derek had a terrible fight. The explosion must have been heard in Wales.

– I think she was indignant that the title slipped out of her hands?

– I just heard her screaming: “Damn me if I’m buried in India!”

“Ugh,” said Lady Gertrude. – Of course, India does not suit her. Clairmore is what she always wanted.” She furrowed her brows. “But I could swear she loved Derek.

— He has changed a lot, aunt. I told you what happened at the concert – Marian was terribly scared. And the operation did not put him completely on his feet.

— And you say he ordered Miss Devon sent to London? Her fan tapped on the arm of the chair. “Perhaps I should go to Claremore and see what you have going on there. She looked at him. “And how serious are your intentions towards her?”

He blushed slightly.

— Well… I… don’t think about getting married.

She smirked.

– At least honestly. And Derek?

– I don’t know if he is interested in her at all.

– Yes, someone, and he knows how to keep his mouth shut. The fan opened up again. “I should definitely go to Claremore.

When Robert and Anne-Lise returned a week later to Claremore and London was left behind, Anne-Lise, looking out the window, said:

— London is the dirtiest, most confused and most beautiful city I have ever seen. He’s kind of mysterious!

“As Ben Jonson said,” Robert remarked, “if a person is tired of London, then he is tired of life.

A pleasant surprise awaited them in Claremore. Derek, leaving his crutches on the porch, walked down the steps to meet them. Although he was leaning on a cane and his face was white with effort, he was doing just fine. Robert couldn’t help but admire when Derek climbed the last step.

Bravo! He hit Derek on the shoulder. Derek swayed, but kept his balance. “I knew nothing would make you drag around on crutches.

Anne-Liz was silent, her clear eyes wanted to tell Derek so much when he looked at her! Standing up proudly, she smiled at Derek, then took his arm and she and Robert led him up the stairs.

At night, Anne-Liz was awakened by a strange sound: someone was moaning, anguished and painful. At first she thought it was some kind of animal howling – a dog, or maybe even a wolf. Then I realized it was a person. But the voice came from somewhere in the depths of suffering. The groan, even louder, came again. Throwing off the covers, she jumped out of bed, throwing a cashmere shawl over her shoulders, and quietly walked into the hall. The house was dark, except for the moonlight coming from under Derek’s bedroom door. Suddenly there was a roar: as if a candlestick had fallen and rolled for a long time on the floor. She knocked softly.

– Let me in. Are you okay?

There was no answer for a long time, then a strangled groan was heard. Suddenly, the door creaked open. Derek was half-dressed, bare-chested, with messy hair. Anne-Lise realized that Derek hadn’t been sleeping.

“Go away,” he shouted irritably, “I don’t need you…” Closing the door, he suddenly recoiled, as if from an unbearable light. Grabbing his head, he literally folded in half. Anne-Lise hugged him and led him to the bed.

– Lie down. You are barely on your feet.

He pushed her away, but the pain twisted him again. Gasping for breath, he fell to his knees. With a soft cry, she rushed to him and pressed her head to her chest. His arms unconsciously wrapped themselves around her, as if for protection and salvation.

“Oh, my poor one,” she whispered, kissing him on the forehead, on the eyes, on the lips. “It’s all right, I’m with you. I’m not going anywhere as long as you need me.

He hid his face on her chest, inhaled a gentle feminine scent. Despite the blinding pain, Derek could feel the intact youthful curves of her seductive body. The suffering resumed, stronger than before, a muffled moan of despair escaped his parched lips. Gently, gently stroked Anne-Lise’s once luxurious hair, now touched with gray, gently kissed strong hands, whispered words of comfort to him, like a child, while pain – this bloody raging sea – ebbed and flooded the sands of terrible memories. Exhausted, unable to reach the bed, he fell, dragging her along with him and pressing her like a precious talisman.

Finally the pain went away and Derek fell asleep. They lay on the carpet, embracing, while he slept and until a mauve beam of light filtered through the window frame. Anne-Lise was afraid to move for fear of waking Derek. Her arm around him became numb, and she tried to gently release it. Derek suddenly turned to her, his sleepy eyes widening. He looked at her as if she were some fabulous, magical gift that he had just discovered. He stroked her raven hair, which was tossed across the Persian rug. Weakly, gently, his lips touched hers, his hand sliding over her body.

In amazement and without breathing, she felt how he caresses her breasts, how his hands caress her thighs with tender passion from the inside. She didn’t need more lessons in love to understand that he was madly wanting her, only her… just like her.

Love and passion overcame her instinctive fear; and without taking her eyes off Derek, she flung open her negligee, letting him know that her heart and body were calling to him. His lips found the soft skin between her breasts, her pale pink nipples rising. She shuddered and trembled from the surging ringing in her whole body when he touched them. Her neck was his Nile, her breasts the lilies floating on it. He slowly removed the remaining clothes from her, his kisses touching the innocent charm of her beautiful forms. Dawn caressed her body with a golden-pink light, the rays of the sun gliding over her ivory skin. Finally he found the dark curly hair between her thighs and kissed her there as if he had discovered a priceless gift. Knowing she was a virgin, Derek restrained himself, his experienced caresses continuing, his hands exploring her body. Teasing himself, he pushed back the moment of supreme agreement. Finally, when Anne-Lise was breathless with astonishment, half-terrified with anticipation, he stripped off his clothes and slid his hands down again, his tongue softly penetrating her. His touch sent red waves of heat through her, flooding her like a sea of fire. Then his body was on top of her, surging into her as the hot wave reached its peak, mixing sharp pain and delight. Her cry was similar to that heard at the birth of a child by a mother who gives him life.

As his body detached from her, pulsing in her, the pain gradually subsided and finally disappeared altogether. His dark eyes looked at Anne-Lise as if he could never get enough of her. Gently, very gently, like foam on the crest of a wave during the surf, he moved in it, as if they were one, from time immemorial. Anne-Lise felt that her consciousness was leaving her. Derek loves her. He is inside her. Merged with her. Their hearts beat side by side. His body, rising, pulls her along. Splashes of the sun. Burning beautiful light. Anne-Lise’s soul turned into a swirling nebula and she moaned again at the touch of Derek’s lips. With a quiet sound of delight, he hid his face on her shoulder. Their dawn of love ended with a calm, ecstatic sigh, a single sigh in silence.

Derek cradled Anna-Lise’s silk head against his chest and, lifting her with his strong arms, carried her to the bed, lay down beside her, gently caressing her until the dawn filled the sky and the morning came, clear, white and blue like a polished mirror reflecting their joy and their newborn love. He wanted her again, but Derek knew that Anne-Lise’s virgin body was too tender for his renewed attraction. Soon… soon she would recover and be his again. He reveled in her innocence, touching her as if she were adorned with diamonds that rivaled the purity of King Arthur’s Grail. Derek took Anna-Lise to her bedroom. There he kissed her for a painfully long time, brushing the delicate strands of hair from her flaming forehead.

“Thank you,” he whispered, “you have become my dream, my hope. I turned to you in sorrow, and you gave me joy, like an endless soaring spirit. Lord, give me the strength to be worthy of your gift.

After he left her, Anne-Lise lay for a long time with a shy, surprised smile. Derek made her a woman and she will never be a child again. He blessed her with his tenderness and his seed. She knew that her father would not be ashamed of her choice. Derek was a good person. Despite the heavy character and imperiousness, he was brave and gentle, loving and kind.
