Early Advantage Family Day Care – Daycare in San Diego, CA
About
I run an air-conditioned and smoke-free family home daycare that is licensed by the state to include up to 14 children (12 + 2 school age). I have a ratio of no more than 8 kids per adult. I am conveniently placed right in the middle of Mira Mesa, at the top of Sorrento Valley. I specialize in good nutrition, socialization, character building and kindergarten preparedness. Things I teach include: letters and sounds, numbers, counting, simple math, colors, correct pencil grip, correct letter formation, beginning reading, large and small motor skills, proper social skills, communication skills, and basic concepts necessary for success in school.
I have a large, clean play area, both inside and out, with ample toys and activities, including music, dance and books/story time. I provide breakfast, lunch and snacks that encourage children to learn to eat well-balanced, healthy foods.
My CPR and First Aid certification are kept current. I have an education degree from SDSU and have been in the childcare business for over 30 years. I worked for the San Diego Unified School District for 7 years before opening my own family day care. I continue to take early childhood educations through the YMCA and other early childhood organizations.

The Daily Walk
Many years ago I decided to add a daily walk around our neighborhood to our morning schedule. We started out small by walking around our long block. Kindergarten №164
It educates everything: people, things, phenomena, but first of all and for the longest time – people.
Of these, parents and teachers are in the first place. Makarenko A. S.
MBDOU “Center for Child Development – Kindergarten No. 164”: Vladivostok, Ostryakova Avenue 3-a, phone (423) 245-25-66
Head: Makiyevskaya Ekaterina Vladimirovna
“Childhood is the most important period of human life, not a preparation for a future life, but a real, bright, original, unique life. And how childhood passed, who led the child by the hand in childhood, what entered his mind and heart from the world around him – it depends to a decisive extent on what kind of person today’s baby will become.
V.A. Sukhomlinsky
Annals of kindergarten
In August 1973, was built and put into operation nursery-kindergarten No. 164 along Ostyakova Avenue, 3-a.
On the first of September, he opened his doors to hundreds of girls and boys, aged from one to six years old. The first head was Buchumova V.S., and the first methodologist was Irzhevskaya Galina Petrovna. The nursery garden was designed for 280 children – 12 groups: of which 4 groups of early age and 8 groups of junior and preschool.
From December 1, 1973 , an audiology group for hearing impaired children was opened, which functioned until April 1, 1983 .
In 1985 , experimental zero class for six-year-old children was opened in our kindergarten. The experiment was conducted jointly with secondary school No. 17. Primary school teacher Kovalenko Lyudmila Vladimirovna gave the children excellent knowledge.
From January 1, 1986, , 2 speech therapy groups were opened in kindergarten for children with general underdevelopment of speech. The children were not urban, but from the villages and towns of Primorsky Krai.
These groups have been functioning for 11 years. Over the years, more than 100 girls and boys from distant villages and villages have learned not only to speak well, but also to read and write. In connection with the reorganization in the Department of Education, the regional groups were closed, but from September 1, 1997, 2 groups with speech impairment in Vladivostok are opened in our kindergarten. All these years, starting from January 1986, speech therapist Fomicheva Galina Pavlovna has been working with children.
From September 1983 to 2009, was headed by MBDOU No. 164 Eremenko Nina Petrovna. He has been in teaching for 38 years, has the highest qualification category, the government award “Excellence in Public Education”. She skillfully rallied a team that has been working stably with her for many years. Over 20 years: Kashichkina V. K. – Deputy Head for educational and methodological work, Rudanovskaya T.Yu. – educator, Shabaldina A.M. – cook, Semenyuta M.P. – chef, Korolkova L.A. – music director. Over 15 years old: educators – Sakulina T.P., Vinichuk G.M., Paseka I.I., Borisova M.A., Malygina M.A.
In 1991, the gym was opened and equipped. From the day of opening until 2005, Natalya Valerievna Sotnikova successfully worked as a physical education instructor. At present, she works as the head of MBDOU No. 159. Kindergarten pupils have been winning prizes at Spartakiads among preschool children of the Frunzensky district for many years.
Our preschoolers, under the guidance of musical director Korolkova Lyudmila Aleksandrovna, were laureates of the regional television competition “Solar Flute” and the city competition “Spring Drop”.
Preschool educational institution No. 164 has been the base for teaching practice for students of Vladivostok Pedagogical College No. 2 for many years.
Currently, the municipal budgetary preschool educational institution “Kindergarten No. 164” operates on the basis of the Charter, No. 231 registered on January 29, 2016 and license No. 208 dated June 28, 2017

MBDOU teachers repeatedly gave open classes, seminars for PIPPKRO listeners, as well as for teachers of the city and the region.
Over the 44 years of the existence of MBDOU, more than one generation of girls and boys has passed through the caring hands of educators. Our graduates received the first knowledge and skills that helped them confidently step into the adult world and become full-fledged citizens of our society. They conscientiously work as doctors, teachers, sailors. The kindergarten laid in them simple truths that help children become good professionals, reliable comrades and just good people.

Autumn in kindergarten
From October 17 to October 31 in kindergarten holidays dedicated to autumn were held in all age groups. Fervent ditties were heard from the music hall, songs in which children glorified autumn. And in response, “Autumn” treated the children with gifts grown at this wonderful time of the year. Fairy-tale heroes played with children throughout all the holidays, made them happy and presented them with various surprises. More: Rothstein, Arthur
Arthur Rothstein arrived in Boys City, Oklahoma in April 1936, hired by his former professor, Roy Stryker, to work for the Resettlement Administration. It was the New Deal agency that moved struggling families into communities built by the federal government. He took the most famous photograph of his career at the Art Coble estate in rural Cimarron County. “I was about to get into my car when I turned to wave… And I looked and saw this man leaning in the wind, with one boy in front of him and another behind him, and huge sandbags all around that made heaven and earth one whole. And I said, “What a picture this is!” and I just took my camera and went to “click. One photo, one shot, one negative.” Rothstein’s image, taken at the Koble farm, was soon widely reprinted across the country, becoming an iconic image of the Dust Bowl and one of the most widely reproduced photographs of the 20th century. Rothstein is remembered as one of America’s most influential photojournalists.

This naturally green eggs and ham recipe is a hit with kids and perfect for a Dr. Suess fan, or as a simple St. Patrick’s Day breakfast. And it’s totally dye-free!
The words of Dr. Seuss are truly iconic, and kids across the country have yelled countless times at poor Sam I Am.
“I do not like green eggs and ham, I do not like them Sam I Am!”
If you haven’t yet made green eggs and ham for your child, you have to try this green eggs and ham recipe. You’ll never forget the delighted look on their face as they see a storybook favorite come to life.
GREEN EGGS AND HAM WITHOUT FOOD DYE
Growing up, my mom would make a green eggs and ham recipe using blue food dye, and I was thrilled every single time she made it (usually for St. Patrick’s Day breakfast).
While I haven’t noticed any harm done to me through consuming food coloring, I try and use natural ingredients whenever possible when feeding my family.
I’m also always looking for more ways to get kids to eat vegetables, so decided to experiment with a few different green vegetables to try and create a naturally green eggs and ham recipe.
LEARN MORE ABOUT ENCOURAGING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR KIDS
After playing around with blending kale, chard, broccoli, peas, and spinach with eggs, I found that spinach is differently the favorite green eggs ingredient for our family.
Spinach is actually quite sweet for a vegetable, with a much milder flavor than other greens like kale and chard. It also has a softer texture and cooks down quite a bit, so it blends into the eggs much better than peas or broccoli.
HOW TO MAKE GREEN EGGS AND HAM
Heat slices of ham in a microwave safe dish for 30 seconds. Keep covered.
Crack 8 eggs into a blender and add 2 cups of baby spinach.
Blend until the spinach is completely incorporated and it looks like a green smoothie.
Pour eggs into large nonstick pan on medium-high heat.
Use a silicone spatula to gently scrape up the eggs as they cook, pushing them to the outside of the pan, and letting the uncooked portions run toward the center.
When the majority of the eggs are still just slightly wet, sprinkle with salt and pepper, give one more gentle scrape and stir of everything, then remove them from the pan.
Serve a scoop of green eggs with a side of warm ham.
TIPS FOR MAKING GREEN EGGS AND HAM
Don’t turn the heat up too high. High heat leads to dry, scorched eggs, especially with the spinach blended in. The recipe says to cook it on medium-high heat, but if you have a gas burner, you will likely need to use medium or medium-low. You can get more tips on How to Scramble Eggs here, including a video showing you just what to do.
Adjust the spinach amount as needed. This recipe is really flexible. You can add up to 1 cup of baby spinach (not packed down, just lightly packed) per egg. You can also add less spinach than the recipe calls for. If you don’t like the hint of spinach taste, try adding a little sprinkling of grated parmesan when you add the salt and pepper.

Best Green Eggs and Ham Recipe
Raise your hand if you read the book Green Eggs and Ham when you were little. Most of us, right? Okay, now raise your hand if you’ve ever eaten green eggs and ham. Were they a ghastly green color, courtesy of food coloring? With all the love in our hearts for the dedicated moms and kindergarten teachers out there, there’s a more delicious—and natural—way to enjoy the breakfast that Dr. Seuss made famous. All you need are some nutritious greens and a trusty cast-iron skillet, and you’re on your way to a delicious, healthy breakfast. Whether you’re looking for a lucky start to your St. Patrick’s Day celebration or you need a fun new recipe to headline your weekend brunch, this fluffy, savory skillet frittata is the just the ticket!
What makes green eggs and ham green?
Many recipes for green eggs and ham use green food coloring to tint the eggs (and sometimes even the ham!) a bright shade of green. But if your appetite reacts to green meat with a resounding “yikes!” like ours do, try this less literal recipe, which checks the “green” box with lots of fresh kale that gets nice and crispy on top in the oven.
What eggs are best for green eggs and ham?
Any time that you’re making a recipe in which eggs are the star ingredient, it’s a great idea to splurge for the best eggs you can find. If you’re lucky enough to live near a farmers’ market or have neighbors with chickens, fresh eggs are awesome in this dish. Second to that, look for eggs in the grocery store that are from free-range, organically fed, or hormone-free chickens. Again, regular eggs are just fine, but good eggs make this dish even better.
What ham is best for green eggs and ham?
This recipe calls for breakfast ham slices or Canadian bacon (which is technically ham) that are cut into thin, 3-inch-round slices. If you can’t find those at the supermarket, you can use a round cookie cutter to cut out circles of thick-cut deli ham, or substitute leftover ham, about 4 ounce or 1 cup diced. Or, skip the ham altogether and serve alongside bacon!

1tbsp.
olive oil
1

salt, divided
1tsp.
ground black pepper, divided
Nonstick cooking spray
6
slices breakfast ham or Canadian bacon, halved (4 oz.)
12
large eggs
2c.
heavy cream
1c.
grated sharp cheddar cheese, divided
1/2c.
grated Parmesan cheese
1/4c.
chopped mixed herbs, such as chives, thyme, and parsley, plus additional for garnish
Directions
Step 1Preheat the oven to 350°. Remove the tough stems from the kale and tear the leaves into large 3-inch pieces. Place the kale in a large bowl; drizzle it with olive oil and sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Using your hands, scrunch the kale until it is slightly crushed and softened, about 1 minute.
Step 2Spray a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Place the kale in the skillet in an even layer. Tuck the ham slices into the kale.
Step 3In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs until the yolks and whites are combined. Stir in the heavy cream, 3/4 cup of the cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, herbs, and the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
Step 4Pour the egg mixture over and around the kale and the ham. Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup cheddar cheese. Bake until the egg mixture is set, 40 to 45 minutes. Garnish with additional herbs, if desired.
I tried to cook scrambled eggs with green yolks: it’s very simple, and children eat breakfast with special pleasure | Lifestyle
I love seeing my son’s face when I do something special for him. He likes to close his eyes, and then I put an interesting new breakfast on the table in front of him, and he smiles and says: “Whoo!” Therefore, I am always looking for new surprises, even when they are very simple or small.
Do you also want to surprise your children with a tasty and interesting breakfast? Agree, this is quite problematic, especially in isolation. How do you like the idea of cooking green eggs? Yes, healthy and delicious green eggs for breakfast. Don’t be fooled by the odd color, they taste just great. Your children will be surprised and fascinated! Add some vegetables and ham. And the surprise worked. And I will also share how you can cook pancakes with colored sprinkles or a pancake bear.
Ingredients
To make this breakfast you will need:
medium chicken eggs,
green food coloring, st or ham (optional)
Tools:
2 small bowls,
pan,
spatula.
Separating the yolks
Start by carefully separating the yolks from the whites. There are several ways you can do this. For example, you can break an egg in the palm of your hand and let the whites seep through your fingers.
Another way is to slowly pour the yolk from one half of the eggshell into the other until all the white is gone. Then your hands will be clean. And if you have an egg separating tool, the process will be even easier. Use any available method. However, be careful not to break the yolks.
If you want to make multiple eggs, it’s best to pour each egg white into its own bowl or cup. And the yolks can be kept all together in one container, since they are easy to separate.
Coloring the yolk
If you didn’t separate the yolks and whites with your hands, now is the time to lightly brush your hands with a little egg white. If this is not done, the yolk will stick to your hands and burst. Then our funny children’s breakfast will not work.
Add a couple of drops of green food coloring to the yolk and gently roll it between two hands until the color is evenly distributed. Check that the yolk is completely dyed.
To intensify the color, add more dye. But try to use less yolk so that the membrane does not burst. You can keep the colored yolks all together in one bowl until ready to use.
Making a colorful breakfast
Spray a skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium heat until lukewarm. Don’t heat the pan too hot or the eggs won’t cook evenly.
When the pan is hot, pour one of the egg whites into it, then carefully separate one yolk and spoon it into the center of the egg white in the pan.
Be careful not to burst the yolk. During cooking, add salt and pepper to the eggs to taste. You can add it right away if you like, but I recommend waiting until the eggs are done.
Cook the scrambled eggs for about 2-3 minutes until the whites are completely opaque. After that, carefully remove the cooked egg from the pan with a spatula and transfer to a dish.
If you are a brave housewife, you can cook more than one egg at a time. This is a little dangerous and requires skill, because if you only burst one of the yolks, you will spoil the whole beauty of the dish. Of course it won’t be completely spoiled, it will still be a delicious scrambled egg! You just won’t have that perfect green yolk that we wanted to surprise the kids with.
Serve and enjoy!
Your plate of green eggs is ready. In addition, you can fry a couple of toasts and put fried bacon. I personally love dipping my toast in yolks. The insides of the yolks will still be golden, since the color will remain exclusively on the membrane. As soon as the yolk bursts, the scrambled eggs will become the most ordinary.
You can use other colors when coloring the yolk. You can even cook a whole rainbow for breakfast for children. They will definitely appreciate your efforts!
Pancakes with colorful sprinkles
Another fun breakfast option for kids, pancakes with colorful sprinkles! This is also used when baking Easter cakes. Perhaps she stayed with you after the holidays.
To make these pancakes, crack two eggs into a large bowl. Then beat them with a whisk for a few seconds.
Now let’s add a quarter cup of sunflower oil and half a cup of milk, and then mix very well with a whisk. Then you need to add flour (1/2 cup) and mix it again with other ingredients.
Next, extinguish the baking soda on the tip of a teaspoon with a drop of vinegar and mix it into the batter. When our dough is ready, it’s time to bake pancakes.
Preheat a frying pan, spray some cooking spray on the bottom. Then, with a ladle or a deep spoon, collect the batter and pour it into the middle of the pan, tilt it in different directions, distributing the dough over the surface.
Now let the pancake fry for a few minutes until you see small bubbles. Flip the pancake with a spatula and cook the other side. The other side will take less time, about 1 minute or so. It is done! Put this pancake on a plate and cook the rest.
Stack the pancakes on top of each other, make a small swirl of whipped cream and top with sprinkles. You can enjoy your holiday breakfast!
Cute Pancake Bear
To make a pancake bear, place two small pancakes on a plate one side of the other, these will be the ears.
Place a large pancake on top of two small pancakes, covering just over half of them. Lay the last one more small pancake on top of the big one to make a muzzle.
Now put some Nutella in a microwave bowl and heat it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Use a toothpick to draw the details of the bear’s head: eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Now your pancake is ready to surprise one little hungry person.
Keep making breakfast fun!

There are many ways to dye eggs, and now we have a great choice: we can use synthetic dyes and get bright and clean, saturated colors, or use our grandmothers’ paints, getting perhaps less saturated, but traditional and environmentally friendly colors are very pleasant, natural range.
You will need
Onion peel
Chicken eggs
Red cabbage
Turmeric
Pomegranate
Blueberry
How to cook
The easiest method of coloring, probably known to all of us, is dyeing with onion skins, which gives a deep, warm and pleasant reddish brown tone. Contrary to popular belief, the husks of ordinary, yellow and red onions stain eggs in exactly the same color. So, we take a handful of onion peel, and add it to the water when boiling eggs. The longer you cook, the deeper the color
Turmeric allows you to achieve a warm yellow color: the spice is prepared in an aqueous solution, heated, and eggs are dyed in a warm (or hot) liquid until the desired color is obtained. In general, you can boil eggs in water with turmeric, just like we do in the case of onion skins, only first dilute the turmeric in a small amount of water, rub with a spoon so that there are no lumps, and then add this thick solution to that water, in which you will cook.
A less expressive (frankly, weak) yellow color can be given to the eggshell by the pomegranate peel. The method is the same – cooking with the peel.
Blueberries produce blue and violet colors, and frozen ones are also suitable for coloring. There are two options: either, as in the case of onions, put blueberries in water when boiling eggs (then the result will be closer to purple), or boil the berries for a short time, strain, and put already boiled eggs in this broth. The intensity of the color will depend on the number of berries from which you prepared the decoction: the more berries, the richer the color, 2-3 tablespoons per glass should be enough. In addition, for the color to be exactly blue, the decoction must be fresh, not infused, the longer the decoction is, the more purple the result.
Another shade of blue gives (unexpectedly) hibiscus tea. Boil the eggs in tea, the solution will be thick red, like hibiscus is supposed to be, but the egg will quickly turn blue after extraction.
Closer to turquoise shade is obtained by dyeing with red cabbage: finely chop the cabbage, add water with 1-2 tsp. vinegar, and leave in the refrigerator overnight. Strain the brine, dip the boiled eggs into it for a long time – for the whole day. Then remove, rinse, dry gently (do not rub, let the paint “sit down” – this, by the way, applies to all natural dyes).
Green is obtained by mixing blue and yellow, right? And if you combine decoctions of blueberries and turmeric, adding a little bit of turmeric to blueberries to get the right color, you can get a very beautiful shade.
Red tones can be obtained in several ways: first, boil eggs in red wine, the color is beautiful, but, unfortunately, not stable. secondly, you can use cherry twigs or bark – you must first boil them separately, then cool the broth, put eggs in it, and already boil in it.
You can also dye eggs with tea and coffee. In the case of tea, the color differs little from the color of onion skins, except perhaps without redness. Coffee gives a beige color (better to use freshly ground).
Well, a few tricks.
Color eggs at room temperature, not from the refrigerator.
Before placing them in the paint, rinse them with hot tap water.
Degrease the shell – wash the eggs with soap or wipe with alcohol
Don’t boil them too hard – slow heat and a sluggish simmer is always better, the eggs will crack less.
If you rub dyed eggs with a drop of oil, they will shine.
You can get drawings on the shell by attaching parsley leaves or sprigs of other herbs to the egg, and wrapping the resulting design with a piece of unnecessary elastic stocking so that the leaves do not move from their place, and cook in onion peel. Another effect is to roll a wet egg in rice before boiling, and also put it in a nylon bag – the egg will turn into a speck.

Geography
Chapel Hill is located in southeastern Orange County and covers an area of 51. 3 square kilometers. Chapel Hill (eng. Chapel Hill ), Durham (eng. Durham ) and Raleigh (eng. Raleigh ) make up the so-called Research Triangle (Research Triangle), which received this name in 1959.
History
Chapel Hill translates as Chapel on the Hill, and indeed, originally the entire town, and now the central part of it, is located on the top of the hill, which was originally called New Hope Chapel Hill (eng. New Hope Chapel Hill ) as there was a small chapel there at the time. Now on the site of that chapel is the Carolina Inn (eng. Carolina Inn ). The city itself began to actively develop and grow, to support and ensure the functioning of the University of North Carolina, which was opened in 1789.
Chapel Hill is famous for its sports team, the University of North Carolina, which actively competes in domestic competitions, where its main rival is the team of Duke University (eng. Duke University ) from Durham. Also noteworthy is the unique bus system introduced by the mayor of the city, Howard Lee. It allows residents of the city without personal vehicles to have access to all important facilities (schools, hospitals, shops, entertainment centers, etc.), which is extremely atypical for America. Since 2002, all bus service in the city has become free for both residents and visitors to the city.
Population
The main population of Chapel Hill is white Americans, who make up about 45% of the inhabitants. Thanks to the University of North Carolina, many immigrants from other countries live in the city and its environs, who are representatives of the intellectual stratum of society and work at the University in teaching positions.
Interesting facts
Chapel Hill became the first city in America, which in 1968, with an absolute majority of the white population at that time, chose the African-American Howard Lee as mayor, who was the mayor from 1969 to 1975
American Poet Laureate Jarrell Randall threw himself under a car in 1965 near the University of North Carolina.

How much childcare REALLY costs – 10 mums reveal all
As childcare costs continue to rise and many parents have the back-to-work dilemma on their hands, the UK is facing a big problem. Revealing the true costs of childcare, 10 mums share their personal stories with HELLO! and weigh in on the big pricing debate…

£75.50 per day – Fiona, Bristol
“We pay £75.50 per day. She goes three days a week and that includes all food, nappies, sun cream, etc. It’s definitely at the high end of childcare costs. Lots of people I know pay less than this rate, but we chose a nursery right in Bristol City centre close to work and it’s bound to be higher.
“Also, the fact everything is included makes it more reasonable…. we don’t have to pack a bag or anything, just drop her in as she is, which saves time in the morning. I also think her speech is advanced for her age and her confidence and social skills are great from being at nursery.
“Family offered childcare when I went back to work but because my daughter was born in lockdown, we wanted her to go to nursery to gain the social skills and be around other children. Cost was a secondary factor really… It is very expensive, but I’m looking forward to the £900 disposable income we will apparently have when she goes off to school.”
“We pay £72.50 per day at the moment, which is around £1,450 per month. We get a discount because she’s in five days a week, and we use the tax-free childcare scheme. It feels really expensive – it’s a huge chunk of money to pay out per month and before I changed jobs, I was working part-time as it was unsustainable for me to work full-time and pay the full-time fees.

“Childcare should be more affordable – my daughter loves nursery and is happy to be there every day which is great. However, I often feel like the food she’s served is nothing like what we were told she’d get – it’s a lot of baked bean bakes and hot dogs and tinned fruit. I know that it’s not cheap to run a nursery and the staff aren’t paid loads – and when you break it down, I’m paying less than £10ph for her care which isn’t really that expensive, but I feel like nurseries should have government support too. Childcare is such a fundamental part of early years development.
“And more should be done to make it accessible before the age of three. It also almost always falls to women to step back from work to afford children and their care, and it’s unfair that it can result in years out of the workplace and huge career setbacks. I feel like if the onus was on men, it would be totally different.“
Working mums have to balance income with childcare fees
£73 per day – Kathryn, Bristol
“We spend on average between £800-£1,000 a month on nursery fees but it depends how the month falls. It’s £73 a day. I think I’m in the minority that thinks it is reasonable, as this includes three meals a day and all nappies, wipes, creams, etc. I only send my daughter with clothes and they provide everything else. We’re lucky that we’re in a position where we can afford it so I can go to work part-time, if I was on my own there would be no point in me working at all after we paid for nursery fees.“
£1,100 per month – Siobhan, Weymouth
“When covid hit and my freelance slowed down, I had to give up work as I wasn’t bringing in enough to cover the fees – it was more than our mortgage at the time. I think it was around £1,100 a month for my twins (which to be fair could have been a lot worse as some London nurseries would cost that much for one child). But still, the cost was crippling.
“I don’t think it’s reasonable – I think I’m right in saying the UK has one of the highest rates of childcare in the world. To put the £1,100 figure into context – that wasn’t for full-time care, it was for three short sessions a week – so trying to earn that fee in a three-day working week (plus trying to make it actually worthwhile and earn more on top), even pre-pandemic was difficult. I counted down the seconds until they got their free hours (which is the term after they turn three). The cost of childcare was 100% the reason why I gave up work.“
£75 per day – Mollie, Bristol
“We pay £75 per day and I think it’s a relative price for Bristol! It’s a childminder so she has costs to cover, and I think people working in childcare should be paid a good salary but it’s a big financial cost for us to take on, on top of me reducing my hours. We’ve only gone for three days a week childcare with grandparents doing one day to try and manage the cost of it, but it’s still around £10k a year!“
£87 per day – Heidi, Bristol
“It’s £87 a day for us although they’re amazing! Not reasonable but I heard it was good so wanted my son to go there as I felt more settled, and they’ve been incredible with him, so we do think it’s worth the money. I’m sure many are the same, but I just felt secure knowing it was highly recommended, if it was cheaper I would probably send him for more days for a little structure but we’re lucky we have parents that help out.”
MORE: Feeling frazzled? The four types of parental burnout revealed and what to do
£55 per day – Carys, Hertfordshire
“We pay £55 per day which includes three meals and snacks and it’s 8am-5pm. I find it reasonable because I know it’s one of the cheaper nurseries in our area. The cost affected how many days I went back to work post-baby, (and with commuting I’d have been making very little). I’d love to put her in more, but it just doesn’t make sense cost wise. Her grandparents don’t live nearby so no free childcare options.”
£348 per month – Natalie, Bristol
“We pay £348 for one day a week and it’s not a reasonable price. However, he gets cooked meals nappies, etc and they do lots of extra stuff with him like French singing classes and football lessons so it is a good nursery. Typically, the waitlist for a good nursery is two years if it’s reasonably priced so that’s why we’ve ended up going to this one – the waitlist wasn’t as long because of the price!“
Some parents like the interaction benefits of childcare
£220 per month – Laura, Bristol
“We use a childminder and a nursery and it’s around £220 a month which is low, but we also travel so our parents can help too. When he’s three we get funding for 30 hours so we can be a little more relaxed.
“It is great pricing considering the learning he has received. It’s such an added expense though but helped as Covid meant we were in a lot.”
MORE: Is your child a fussy eater? Top 20 foods to introduce to kids under 5
£35.50 per day – Leanne, Bristol
“We spend £35.50 per day for a private childminder at the moment but that’s only 5.5 hours so not really what some people would say is a full day.
“Childminders tend to I think be a little cheaper than nurseries. That’s not the reason we went with her, but it was a plus point on reflection. We only send him one day a week as that’s all we can afford.”
£630 per month – Rochelle, Bristol
“We spend £63 a day and we do two days a week so the bill this month is £630. I only think it’s ‘reasonable’ as I know other places that are £20 more a day for the same hours, mainly because it’s more central Bristol. Without the comparison though I think it’s still crazy money!
“It’s over half my paycheck just for her two days of nursery bills. We are lucky that my partner’s mum has her the other day or it wouldn’t be worth me working. I reckon I’d only have about £200 a month to show for working three, 10-hour days a week!
“That being said, she could have her two days a week and us half the nursery cost, but I feel it’s so beneficial for her to go two days rather than just one that we are willing to pay it, I guess.
“Also, my brother lives in Finland and pays what I pay in one week for my daughter to be in nursery for just two days to cover my nephew’s nursery five days a week for the whole month!”

Kindergarten in Germany: cost by state
When it comes to affordable childcare in Germany, it can be a bit of a lottery, depending on the federal state. Here’s what you need to know about the cost of kindergarten services in the various states of Germany. How much does kindergarten cost in Germany?
Read also: Kindergeld benefits in 2022: exact payment dates.
Kindergartens in Germany
Since 2013, every child over the age of one has the legal right to a partially subsidized public kindergarten in Germany. There are different types of kindergartens, from Kinderkrippen (nursery) to Kindergärten (preschool), but they are all grouped together under the general term Kita, which is short for Kindertagesstätte (kindergarten).
Unfortunately, the theoretical eligibility for a seat at Kita does not always coincide with the practical one. The demand for children’s institutions in Germany significantly exceeds the supply, so it is not uncommon for future parents to start making inquiries even during pregnancy.
It should also be noted that Kita fees and state subsidies for childcare are determined at the Länder level. To complicate matters further, these government decisions are implemented differently in different regions. This means that two parents in two different cities in Baden-Württemberg can pay completely different amounts for child care.
Here are the main things you need to know about how much kindergarten costs in each federal state.
Bavaria
In Bavaria, the cost of childcare varies greatly from city to city and region to region.
In Munich, the fee depends on the type of institution the child attends: child care in a kindergarten (preschool) is free, but in a nursery for young children it is not. However, parents with a combined annual income of less than EUR 80,000 can apply for a fee reduction.
At a certain income level, parents can also apply for the Bavarian child care allowance (Krippengeld). This is a contribution of 100 euros per month to pay for kindergarten for children over one year old.
Baden-Württemberg
In Baden-Württemberg, parents pay different amounts for childcare depending on where they live.
In Heilbronn, child care from the age of three is free, while in Stuttgart, families pay contributions that depend in part on their income. Residents of the state capital with an annual income of up to 70,000 euros can receive a family card, which reduces child care fees by about ten cents per hour. In other parts of the world, parents have to shell out up to 600 euros per month for child care.
Berlin
As of August 2018, nurseries and kindergartens in Berlin are free for all children, although parents must pay a small fee for meals. Whales are also allowed to charge for additional services such as special sports classes, organic food or language lessons, so the cost can range from 30 to 90 euros per month.

Brandenburg
In Brandenburg every child receives the last year of pre-school education free of charge. For younger children, parents must pay for lunches and running costs of kindergartens. These costs vary by area and depend on the income of the parents.
However, welfare recipients and people with low incomes can attend all preschools free of charge.
Bremen
For parents living in Bremen, childcare between the ages of three and six is free of charge, with parents only paying the cost of meals. For young children, the cost of a place in a nursery depends on a number of factors, including income, number of children in the family, and amount of care.
Social security recipients and BremenPass holders can receive child care free of charge, regardless of the child’s age.
Hamburg
In Hamburg, child care for five hours a day, including lunch, is free for parents. Those who use longer-term care, ie. caregivers for six hours or more per day pay a contribution that is graded according to income, family size, age group and volume of care.
For example, for a child receiving eight hours of care, the costs could be between €11 and €191. You can calculate child care costs using the calculator on the state website.
Hesse
In central Hesse, children between the ages of three and six receive up to six hours of care per day free of charge. For younger children, fees vary from region to region.
In Frankfurt, for example, parents can pay about 200 euros per month for a place in a nursery, as well as 30-50 euros for food. At the same time, in Wiesbaden, the cost of services depends on the duration and type of care required.
Lower Saxony
In Lower Saxony, children from the age of three can receive up to eight hours of free care per day. For children under three years of age, fees usually vary and may vary by area.
In Hannover, for example, the childcare fee depends on the type of child care facility and the income of the parents. Parents also pay 30 euros per month to cover food costs.
Mecklenburg Western Pomerania
For happy parents in the northeastern state of Mecklenburg, all child care places in nurseries and kindergartens are paid for by the state.
Parents can take advantage of 10 hours of free childcare per week without worrying about exorbitant costs.
North Rhine-Westphalia
In North Rhine-Westphalia, the last two years of child care before starting school are usually free. For young children, the local youth office decides whether and how much parental contributions are charged for the use of kindergarten or nursery services.
Rhineland-Palatinate
In this western land, parents can send their child to a nursery free of charge as soon as they are two years old. Prior to this, child care fees vary by area.
Saarland
Unlike most other Länder, Saarland leaves the decision on kindergarten fees to individual institutions. Not surprisingly, this makes the tiny western land one of the most expensive in Germany. For example, in Saarbrücken, parents can pay about 187 euros for a place in a nursery for half a day and 368 euros for a full day, not including meals.
Saxony-Anhalt
In Saxony-Anhalt, parents only pay kindergarten fees for their oldest child and can apply for a fee waiver (or partial waiver) depending on their income. As a rule, the child care fee is 100–200 euros per month. In Halle, parents pay €165 per month for an eight-hour place in a nursery and €119 for an eight-hour place in kindergarten.
Saxony
In Saxony, the parental contribution for child care also varies by region. However, the fee should not exceed 15-23% of the average municipal costs for a nursery and 15-30% of the costs for a preschool. The last year before school, children also study for free.
In Leipzig, the parental contribution depends on the number of children, whether the parent is single and the length of care. Fees range from EUR 56.30 (second child, 20 hours per week) to EUR 311.39 (first child, 55 hours per week). People with low income can qualify for various discounts. A full breakdown of standard costs can be found here.
Schleswig-Holstein
As of January 2022, parental spending on childcare in Schleswig-Holstein is capped at €232 per month for eight hours of daily care in a nursery and €226 per month for eight hours of care in a kindergarten or preschool . For the second child, parents pay half of this amount, and from the third child onwards, no contributions are charged.
Although the amount that parents pay is generally independent of income, people on the allowance pay no contributions at all, and those on a low income can apply for help from Kita Geld to pay for childcare costs .
Thuringia
In the federal state of Thuringia since 2018, the last year of kindergarten is free for families. And from the middle of 2020, the second last year before school will be free.
Learning and relationships are enhanced through field trips.

Advantages of
In-Home Preschool
In my home, I’ve created a nurturing environment with stimulating and fun educational activities.
One of the biggest benefits of an in-home preschool and prek is small class sizes. I am able to meet the needs of each child- every day!
I take a balanced approach to early childhood education. I believe children need both developmental and academic activities.
Research shows us that children need to be immersed in age-appropriate developmental activities, (such as fine and gross motor, music, art, speaking/listening) in order to build neuronal connections in the brain.
Children also need a challenging curriculum, which will prepare them for academic success in kindergarten.
Every child is special, every family is special. Come join our happy little community! I hope to talk to you soon.

Our Preschool is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm. We offer an extended program which includes “Breakfast Club” beginning at 7:30 am, and “Playhouse” which runs until 6:00 pm. Drop-in care is available with 24 hour advance notice. Please register your child into these programs if you need extended care on a regular basis. Our curriculum is a successful blend of several excellent programs including, “Jewish Everyday”, “Creative Curriculum”, “More Than Letters”, “Everyday Counts”, and a Creative Arts Program, which focuses on “Meeting the Masters” and exploring a variety of art media. Each program has been selected for its strengths and is used in conjunction with the others to create a well-rounded academic and Judaic program.
We understand the importance of a quality education to the development of young children’s minds as well as their self-image. We are committed to offering children opportunities to question, observe, engage, experiment, create, and “show-off” their new found knowledge. With these goals in mind, our classrooms are designed to allow the children to move into at least 8 different learning centers, and spend ample time becoming engaged in the learning process.
The children predominantly move in a child-directed environment by choosing what areas they want to work in. In addition to our learning centers, our teachers run academic circles, to teach the curriculum as well as work one-on-one and in small groups to provide your child the attention he/she needs.
Your child will have the benefit of a fully equipped classroom that may include areas such as dramatic play lofts, math and science “labs”, music nooks, comprehensive libraries, user-friendly computer centers, fully stocked art areas, and lots of manipulatives and puzzles, and a reading and writing center.
EC kids are the envy of “Blue Man Group.” In addition to our comprehensive curriculum, your child may have Hebrew, Spanish, Science, Cooking, Creative Dance, and Music classes. We meet as a whole school every Friday for a child-friendly, interactive Shabbat lunch. All family and friends are always welcome. Of course, our program encompasses the true essence of Jewish education, traditions, values and experiences. Our affiliation with the Synagogue gives us a unique connection to the Jewish community and its programs, including the fabulous L’dor V’dor Senior luncheons.
Our facility also enables us to meet with our Rabbi and engage in weekly mini-minyans with our Cantor, read in our Children’s Library, and dance in our Social Halls.
The standards listed below provide a quick glance into our curricular and developmental guidelines by which we measure each child’s growth. For a more detailed look, please refer to our age-specific Standards handout. Inherent in each child is a unique set of qualities, learning styles, and personality traits that helps him or her to achieve.
To ensure that we foster these individual characteristics within our program, we help each child to succeed in the ways that are best suited for him or her. For literacy and language we use Creative Curriculum, More Than Letters, and Rigby to include both phonics and whole-language.
For writing we use D’Nealian font.
For math we use Everyday Counts, which provides a complete spectrum of skills beginning with basic number sense and progressing through talgebraic and geometric principles.
For science we use Rigby Science and Simple Science for in-depth investigations and explorations within each science unit.
In addition to the wonderful activities incorporated daily into your child’s program, we also offer after-school activities such as: Karate, Computers, Ballet, and Mad Science. Our daily schedule allows for large and small group time, one-on-one learning, center time and scheduled specialties. Specific reading, writing, math, social studies, art and science skills are integrated into the curriculum along with Hebrew, Spanish and Creative Music and Movement.

Rosreestr for Dagestan was introduced into the USRN by a kindergarten for 120 places in the Sergokalinsky district
Arina Yusupova
MAKHACHKALA, June 16 – RIA “Dagestan”.
The Rosreestr Department for RD put a kindergarten on cadastral registration. A preschool institution in the village of Myurego, Sergokalinsky district, for 120 places, was included in the USRN on June 15, 2023. This was reported to the news agency today in the press service of the Office.
“This is already the fifth preschool institution put on the cadastral register by the specialists of the Office this month,” the report says.
Earlier, information about a kindergarten in the village of Hamamatyurt, Babayurt District for 100 children, a preschool institution in the village of Erpeli, Buynaksky District for 120 children, a kindergarten in the TBZ microdistrict in Makhachkala for 200 children, a kindergarten in the village of Komsomolskoye, Kizilyurt District for 80 children .
According to Miyasat Akhmedova, deputy head of the real estate state registration department of the Rosreestr Department for the Republic of Dagestan, special attention is paid to the construction of preschool educational institutions by the management of the Department.
“Preschool educational institutions, as well as other objects of social infrastructure, are put on the cadastral register in the first place,” Miyasat Akhmedova noted.
Recall that the cadastral registration of social objects is necessary in order to secure the right of ownership. If data about an object is included in the cadastre, the state acts as a witness confirming the rights to the object and its location.

The Daily Walk
Many years ago I decided to add a daily walk around our neighborhood to our morning schedule. We started out small by walking around our long block. We clocked it in the car and found that it was six-tenth of a mile. That took about seventeen to twenty minutes depending on the skill set and age of the walkers…..

This site was created in order to acquaint everyone with our specialized children’s home, to give an idea of what the institution is like, what activities it carries out, what children are with us, where they come from and where they leave.
Our orphanage is a healthcare institution under a license – it carries out medical activities. Pedagogical, social and legal work is also carried out. A board of trustees has been created in the orphanage, all members of the board are well acquainted with our institution and provide it with all possible assistance.
The State Public Health Institution of the Samara Region “Specialized Children’s Home “Solnyshko”” was established in 1933. In 2018 we celebrate 85 years.
Over the entire period of its existence, more than 4,300 children have passed through our institution, 973 children have been adopted, and more than 1,352 children have been returned to their families.
269 children were taken into the foster family, 78 kids were taken under guardianship.
The subject of the Institution’s activities is to provide round-the-clock temporary stay, provision of medical and social assistance, comprehensive medical, psychological and pedagogical rehabilitation, social adaptation and other assistance to orphans and children left without parental care placed under the supervision of the Institution, children who have legal representatives, but transferred by them for the provision of services in the Institution in connection with a difficult life situation, the state of health of which requires the provision of primary specialized medical care.

People are talking about us
I don’t even know how to describe my emotions!!! I have not met so many kind and friendly people for a long time. We came here with our youngest son, first for a consultation, and then for rehabilitation. The head doctor is just a magician! I have not seen such an attitude towards children with problems and their parents! The staff of the rehabilitation department are doctors and narrow specialists, everyone is very friendly and everyone wants to help us!!!! The atmosphere is like back in the USSR!!! Children’s songs in the salt room, various educational toys throughout the 3rd floor, as well as classrooms equipped with everything you need! Each little patient is assigned a neurologist who is ready to talk with parents at any time! Each baby is assigned an individual treatment depending on the necessary needs! If all hospitals and rehabilitation centers in our city had such an atmosphere, then sick children would become less and less every day!!!! I want to sincerely congratulate the management and all the staff on the upcoming NEW YEAR !!!! Thank you very much! May everyone in your families be healthy and happy!!!!❄❄❄

Tourslet
On May 25, a big sports festival was held – a school tourist rally! Excellent weather, good mood, sports enthusiasm – everything contributed to spending the last day of school fun and incendiary. Four teams tried to actively demonstrate their sports skills. The guys had to go through an obstacle course, cross difficult rope labyrinths, put up a tent, pack a backpack, find a treasure using notes.
The winners of the school sports contest of the 2022-2023 academic year were announced at the solemn line. They were: Vyacheslav Sviridenko (Grade 4) and Artyom Kuznetsov (Grade 7). Grade 4 was recognized as the most athletic class among junior schoolchildren, grade 5 at the level of basic general education, grade 10 won among high school students. At the end of the event, parents prepared a surprise for the children – a delicious halt. Tired and satisfied, everyone ate with appetite on a green meadow. In the hands of the certificates that were awarded, in smartphones – bright photographs, and on their faces – smiles. What else does a resilient kid need on such a wonderful sunny day?! Thank you for the tour, dear organizers!
