Portland Offers A Model To Fulfill America’s Broken Promise Of Childcare

Our welfare system forces poor parents to work without providing adequate childcare. The city of Portland, Oregon, is pioneering an alternative model.

In this excerpt from “Getting Me Cheap: How Low-Wage Work Traps Women and Girls in Poverty,” sociologists Amanda Freeman and Lisa Dodson examine how the country’s broken childcare system leaves poor mothers struggling to find any form of childcare in order to work – let alone the high-quality, affordable childcare that they were promised.

A key part of the national plan to end welfare was, according to then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton, the promise to “empower people with the education, training and child care they need” to move up and out of poverty. Politicians promised high-quality, subsidized childcare to enable poor mothers to discover the “dignity of work,” because suddenly the work they were doing in their homes, caring for kids, no longer counted.

But the availability of childcare has never come close to meeting the need. Today, most states serve only between 5-25% of eligible families who qualify for childcare subsidies. Sheila Katz, a white professor at the University of Houston and an expert on women’s poverty and social welfare, explains: “With welfare reform, the politicians became much more interested in forcing women to work, and then kind of offering child care while they worked, but that child care was never comprehensive enough to care for their kids.”

Across the country, we heard moms complain about incredibly long wait lists, especially for spots in subsidized daycare centers. One low-income mom in Denver explains she’s only able to work five hours a day until her daughter gets off a waiting list for after-school care: “She’s on four wait lists. But I can’t leave a 7-year-old alone. I broke down this week.”

(Courtesy of The New Press)

One reason centers cite for not accepting subsidies are the set rates for care allowed by the subsidy program in each state. If the market supports much higher tuition costs (and the center has a waiting list of potential full-payers), there is little incentive to absorb the extra cost of taking a child with a voucher, which may be several hundred dollars a month.

Childcare aid for low-income families consists of means-tested or income-eligibility vouchers, Head Start and Pre-K programs. Childcare is not an entitlement program like Social Security or veterans benefits. When childcare money runs out, they start waiting lists. Only about 40% of eligible children get into Head Start and early Head Start programs, and with thousands of families on wait lists, many will never get off. Other federal aid for childcare provided through tax credits never reaches low-income families because care has to be paid for up front.

The insufficient public childcare system (or lack thereof) in the U.S. stands in contrast to European countries who invest heavily in universal programs that serve all children. Even affluent families struggle to find daycare openings, especially in major metropolitan areas where some wait lists open months before birth.

The U.S. may find a model for high-quality universal public childcare for 3- and 4-year-olds in Portland, Oregon, starting in the fall of 2022.

In 2020, Multnomah County passed a ballot measure approving a tax on the wealthy to fund a year-round childcare and preschool program for all resident children in this age bracket. Portland’s plan includes options ranging from home to center-based care in different languages and locations around the county. All kids may attend up to six hours per day free of charge; kids from low-income families receive up to 10 hours per day and priority enrollment. Different locations offer evening and weekend hours. The measure passed with wide-ranging public support, perhaps in part because of the aim to serve all children.

Portland State University economics professor Mary King, a public childcare expert and advocate, describes the public support she observed before the vote. “Parents really seemed to have an understanding that child care is not affordable for most people. So that, you know, it’s a real issue for middle-class families, as well as lower-income families, to pay for child care, despite the fact that you can’t make a decent living doing it.”

Women like Joan who serve as daycare providers, preschool teachers, and babysitters are some of the lowest paid workers in America, though they provide what moms universally recognize as the most important service. Around 95% of childcare workers are women and they are disproportionately women of color, according to the Economic Policy Institute. The median wage for childcare workers is around $10 an hour, compared to $17 for workers in other occupations. One in seven are living in poverty, and they are much less likely than other workers to have benefits at work, with 85% of childcare workers reporting they do not receive health insurance coverage from their jobs.

Universal childcare in Portland stands out partially because of the plan to increase the salaries of all childcare workers, including classroom aides and teaching assistants, to a minimum of around $20 an hour. These are not just public school employees who are a part of a union but also in-home daycare providers and aides. Programs like the one in Portland are rare, but they show the possibility of treating children as a community priority — ultimately perhaps as a national priority.

Even with incremental progress, gaps will persist. There is wide-ranging public support for proposals on the local and national level to expand public schooling to include a preschool component for 3- and 4-year-olds. But there is much less public conversation and support for expanding opportunities and assistance for infant care, which is even more expensive and harder to find than care for older kids.

According to Professor King, “The people in the campaign I was working with very much see preschool as the first and easiest step. The next thing that is absolutely necessary is zero to two [years old] … both because it’s a huge crying need and so expensive, so challenging, and because there’s the recognition that once you have a better paid universal preschool program, even fewer providers are going to offer infant and toddler care.”

In contrast to valuing childcare, mothers offered detailed accounts of problems accessing and relying on the current system of childcare “assistance.” They reported filling out mountains of paperwork to apply, certify, and recertify qualifications for a voucher. Since the amount of the voucher is adjusted by income, moms would continuously report their earnings, which caused trouble when hours fluctuated as they often did. Fran, a single mother of two young children living in public housing in Boston, says, “It’s hard to get hired when you are a parent, but I need to get a job first to get a voucher for her to go to daycare” in order to go to work.

Caught in a similar dilemma, Jesse tried to enroll her daughter in the childcare assistance program in Connecticut called Care 4 Kids but discovered she made too much. “I think it was like $16 extra a month or something over the limit, so they wouldn’t give it to me.” But after leaving that job, she also couldn’t qualify for a Care 4 Kids voucher until she had lined up another job, which was impossible without childcare arrangements.

Even after securing a childcare voucher, finding a provider who would accept the voucher was equally challenging. We met several low-income moms providing childcare services out of their homes who had difficulty enrolling kids with subsidies because of the paperwork nightmare and problems the ever-changing subsidies created for providers. Aurora, a single mom of an 8-year-old son, moved from Montana to California when she was accepted into an apprenticeship program to learn a trade. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to get her little family on its feet.

(Photo by Aaron Burden / Unsplash)

“I was accepted into that program, and I did have a support system in place, but it fell through,” she says. “I needed childcare which started between 4:30 and 5 a.m.; I had to drop him off…And I gotta be there on Monday. I literally looked online, and was just looking for someone that would accept government assistance childcare, which is what I had.”

Aurora could not find any providers with openings that would take her voucher. “Why do all these places refuse to take the state money? Because they are not really about helping a single mom make it,” she says. She also speculates that the state requires too much paperwork and makes it hard for childcare providers to accept subsidies.

Voucher use also tends to be clustered in areas with lower average incomes adding to economic segregation. Some childcare providers in affluent areas are never even asked about accepting a subsidy. A study by the Urban Institute uncovered some troubling patterns among providers who accepted vouchers, including lower teacher wages, higher teacher turnover, and more students assigned to each teacher. They found that half of family daycare providers and around 60% of daycare centers had served at least one student with a voucher in the previous six months. It’s important to keep in mind, however, these rates are tracking the regulated childcare market, which doesn’t include providers working off the books. According to the same report, one reason some providers cited for accepting students with subsidies was because of the guarantee of on-time payment for at least some part of the tuition.

Holding on to a childcare voucher is also tricky and usually short-lived. Poor moms navigate a tangle of rules and regulations in order to maintain their subsidies, and they cannot be late with their portion of the payment if they want to keep their spots. Losing a childcare voucher for even a month or two could mean dropping out for a semester or getting fired from a job because of excessive absences. The moms we spoke with worked around the clock to fulfill all of the requirements on a continuous basis, usually after long hours on the job and caring for kids.

The average annual cost of daycare for an infant in the state of Massachusetts is a whopping $20,913, according to the Economic Policy Institute’s childcare calculator, straining the budgets of even middle-class parents. A minimum-wage worker would have to surrender their entire paycheck for more than 10 months of the year to cover it.

According to the Center for Law and Social Policy, families below the poverty line who pay privately for childcare typically spend an average of 30% of their income on it. The prohibitive cost of childcare forced several moms we met to compromise on the quality of care, just to ensure their kids were somewhere. Jill, a white mom from Connecticut, turned to a woman in her neighborhood who she knew through her church offered low-cast babysitting. “It was just the kind of thing you could bring your kid there for the day and it was super cheap, like $30 for the day and convenient,” she says. “She wasn’t teaching them anything, but she’s literally just watching them, feeding them, making sure they don’t die… . Of course, I’d rather have [my daughter] somewhere else, learning, going out to the pool or the park if it was the summer. I didn’t just want her stuck inside, but sometimes it wasn’t worth it because I couldn’t pay my other bills.” There is no question that factors like cost and convenience impact poor mothers’ decisions about childcare.

When her daughter turned four, Jill qualified for an income-adjusted preschool, which she and her daughter both love. “It’s a sliding scale. I only pay $120 a week, and it’s a longer, full day to five o’clock instead of three. When you first enroll, you have to show what you are making, and that’s how they set our tuition,” she explained. Jill appreciates that the teachers bundle up the kids and take them to play outside, no matter what the weather; the school is focused on learning and discipline, and it’s only five minutes from her house. “It’s the best childcare I’ve had so far, other than my parents.”

A piece of Japan in the New World

I have been to Japan many times and am well acquainted with traditional Japanese gardens. Yes, it’s still not quite the same as in the Land of the Rising Sun, but very close. Those who would like to feel the calming effect of man-made gardens should definitely visit this place. The clean expanse of ponds, disturbed by huge Japanese carps, the crystal murmur of streams, the rapid run of which you can admire from the openwork bridge, lush inflorescences of rhododendrons and oleanders, picturesque groups of stones, small stone altars, all this creates an elusive atmosphere of sophistication and harmony, gives inner peace and relaxation soul.

A great place to sit out the heat!

As already mentioned in previous reviews, Lan Su Chinese Garden is quite pulling on the title of an oasis. It is quiet, cozy, cool here (even in the midst of a hot July day) and very beautiful. One of the few places in Portland worth visiting.

Admission costs money, but the price includes a long tour of the garden. Very interesting and educational!

In general, if you want to usefully sit out a couple of hours of the heat during the day, this place is perfect!

Many years ago I decided to add a daily walk around our neighborhood to our morning schedule. We started out small by walking around our long block. Transporting Daycare Kids

I know there are many types of agreements between parents and providers when it comes to having children in the provider’s vehicle. There are parents who want it for their kids and many who pay providers to transport their child to and from school and preschool. Some providers transport their own children to school and have field trips as a major selling point of their business…….

The object, which here on TripAdvisor is called “The Church of St. Cyril of Turov”.
My wife and I were there at the beginning of August, we didn’t go inside, and I have already left a corresponding review.
And dubbing, because the vast majority of both those who write here and those who attend it in general, naturally, do not go to this university. So the people only visit that very church.
Outside – very worthy (and the rest I wrote in that very review).

Orthodox Church was in an unfinished stage . And now everything looked as it should. The center is located in accordance with its status next to the remarkable Orthodox Cathedral of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. There are sculptures in front of the entrance. As follows from the information before the same entrance, the main purpose of the center is spiritual education. In addition, there is a small temple, a museum, administrative, as well as educational and residential premises for students. You can go inside, some person waved his hand invitingly, but they became shy and limited themselves to an external examination.

In the Upper City of Minsk, a significant number of attractions are concentrated. Here, next to the Cathedral of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, not far from the Svisloch River, there is the Spiritual and Educational Center of the Belarusian Orthodox Church. The building is quite new, but fits well into the overall ensemble of the Upper Town. From the inside, the view is also quite decent. Worth to visit.

The Spiritual and Educational Center of the Belarusian Orthodox Church has just been opened in Minsk, moved here from Zhirovichi. It is located in the Upper City next to the Cathedral of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. The complex includes the academic Church of St. Cyril of Turov, the Church History Museum, classrooms, administrative and living quarters of the Minsk Theological Academy. Near the complex there are picturesque sculptures, as well as a memorial sign in honor of the appearance of the Minsk Icon of the Mother of God, which is a dove flying over water, whose gaze is directed towards the temple with the icon. The dove is an image of the Holy Spirit.

Visiting the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit (white walls, green roof), I wondered what the building complex was on the left (white walls, green roofs), and thanks to Trip Advisor I now know!

The whole complex is pleasant to look at both from the outside and in the case of the church inside.

Flenovo-Talashkino – Church of the Holy Spirit – Music Resource Center

    Cultural heritage

The project is the result of the joint work of S. V. Malyutin, I.F. Barshchevsky, V.V. Suslov and M.K. Tenisheva herself. The building turned out to be unusual and very expressive. The mosaic icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands was made by N.K. Roerich.

He worked on its decoration from 1908 to 1914. Before the start of the First World War, he manages to complete the frescoes of the altar, paint one of the arches and lay out a mosaic over the main entrance.

Prior to this, Nikolai Konstantinovich had already come to Smolensk at the invitation of the princess. The sights of Smolensk, and especially the Smolensk Wall, impressed him greatly. Roerich painted several paintings here (“Watchtower”, “General View of the Kremlin Walls”, “Smolensk Tower”, etc.). In the Art Workshops, he was engaged in ceramics (in “Teremka” there are his works – a vase and paintings).

Nicholas Roerich for Flenovo is primarily an artist who painted the Church of the Holy Spirit and decorated its external facades with amazing smalt mosaics, which have miraculously survived to this day. Unlike the murals, they were fabric-based! – and for this reason they were not preserved.

Smalt mosaic N.K. Roerich “The Savior Not Made by Hands with the upcoming angels” over the portal of the church.

But deviations from the Orthodox canon – Roerich depicted not the Russian Mother of God, but the Mother of the World above the altar – caused the churches to be strictly refused consecration. Only its basement was consecrated – Temple Tomb, where the ashes of Prince Tenishev, who died in Paris, were buried in 1903. (The coffin was preserved in the basement of the Temple until 1917 years).

In 1919, Tenisheva, together with Svyatopolk-Chetvertinskaya, maid Lisa and close friend and assistant V.A. Lidin left Russia forever. M.K. Tenisheva died on April 14, 1928 in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Cloud.

In an obituary dedicated to Maria Klavdievna, educator, philanthropist, and organizer of one of the largest art centers of the early 20th century, Talashkina, I. Ya. Bilibin wrote: “She devoted her whole life to her native Russian art, for which she did an infinite amount.”

After Aurora’s volley, unthinkable things began to happen in Flenovo: it was plundered from the tomb of the Church of the Holy Spirit, before a vegetable store was built there, the coffin of Prince Tenishev was taken out and broken by local residents, the body was secretly transferred by sympathetic peasants to a rural cemetery on the territory of a birch grove. After the bombing during the Great Patriotic War, the grave was lost. Subsequently, a symbolic memorial cross was erected near the Church of the Holy Spirit in memory of the owner of these lands, Vyacheslav Nikolaevich Tenishev, benefactor and husband of Princess Maria Klavdievna Tenisheva.

The fate of the creative heritage of M. K. Tenisheva is tragic. There are only five of her enamel works in Russia. Everything else is scattered among private collections and museums around the world.

Flenovo-Talashkino – A monument to the owner of the estate in the style of urban realistic sculpture in Flenov appeared in 2008 on the 150th anniversary of Tenisheva – a smart, stately lady, as it were, greets guests, leaning on an umbrella.

    Unusual places

When it comes to New York, apart from the well-known Statue of Liberty, Times Square or the Empire State Building, there is little that comes to mind. And here is and in vain! The city does not end there, it does not even end with the twenty interesting places that we offer. But let this list be useful to the traveler who has set foot on New York soil for the first time.

    1. High Line Park

With a picture of New York’s monumental skyscrapers in mind, you might be surprised that there are quite a few parks in this city. Of course, in the first place – this is the famous Central Park. However, we want to talk about the less known, but no less interesting High Line Park. It is located in the western part of Manhattan and stretches from Hemsworth Street to West 34th Street. The peculiarity of the park is that it is laid out on the site of former railway tracks at a height of 10 meters above the ground. So this is not only a great opportunity to “ascend” above the noisy revival of New York streets, but also to enjoy an oasis of nature in the thick of the stone jungle.

The park is open from December to March from 07:00 to 19:00, from April to May from 07:00 to 22:00 and from June to September from 07:00 to 23:00. In October and November – from 07:00 to 22:00. Free admission.

Access to the park is via the entrances on Hemsworth Street, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 26th and 28th Streets. You can find a complete list on the official website.

    2. Life Underground

New York is undoubtedly a city with a rich cultural life: one trip is definitely not enough to visit all its museums and galleries! But few people know that in New York there is a free sculpture gallery, which is located … in the subway.

The 14th Street — 8th Avenue station of the New York subway houses the work of Brooklyn sculptor Tom Otterson called Life Underground. Funny little men with money bags instead of heads, crocodiles crawling out of sewer manholes, phantasmagoric toads and crayfish lying in wait for “money” midgets – the compositions will not leave anyone indifferent.

    3. Whitney Museum of American Art

Would you like to visit New York and not visit at least some of its world famous museums? What are you kidding me?! If you are not one of those who think that modern American art is exclusively pop art, and would like to know more about it, then the Whitney Museum should definitely be on your list.

His collection (more than 21,000 works) contains works exclusively by American artists from the 1920s to the present. Paintings, sculptures, photos, video installations, drawings, media works – everyone will find something for themselves here.

    4. New York Museum of Natural History

Even if you are not a fan of the movie “Night at the Museum” and any museums make you bored from childhood, do not refuse to look into the New York Museum of Natural History. It will be interesting for visitors of absolutely all ages!

Dinosaur skeletons, displays dedicated to ocean life and North American forests, birds and reptiles, a planetarium – and this is not a complete list of the museum’s permanent collection! And one more nice nuance: visitors can pay for the entrance as much as they see fit (although the declared ticket price is $22).

The Natural History Museum is located at 79th Street and Central Park West (Upper West Side).

    5. Zoo

One of the most popular places for family (and not only) recreation in New York is the Central Park Zoo. Here the inhabitants of both the American continent (bears, wolves, lynxes) and the fauna of the tropics (primates, reptiles and birds) are represented, and in the pool you can see sea lions.

    6. Top of the Rock

Seeing New York from the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center, if not from a bird’s eye view, is worth it for an impressive panorama of the city (especially in the morning and evening, when the city is especially beautiful). The Top of the Rock observation deck is the perfect place for this. This is a lesser-known analogue of the Empire State Building, but it allows you to see the same panorama – and even a little more.

The site is open daily from 08:00 to 24:00. Tickets cost $32 (adults), $26 (children 6-12) and $30 (over 60s). For children under 6 years old, admission is free.

Site address: 30 Rockefeller Plaza (entrance on 50th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues).

    7. The Cloisters Museum

When in New York, be sure to check out the Cloisters Museum. In addition to the fact that there is an interesting collection dedicated to the art and architecture of Medieval Europe, the building itself was built from fragments of medieval abbeys, taken brick by brick from Europe to America.

After admiring the old tapestries, sculptures and paintings in the museum halls, take a walk through the museum gardens and sit in the shady courtyards, enjoying the atmosphere of antiquity.

Note : The Cloisters Museum is a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so the visitor himself determines the entrance fee here, as in the Metropolitan (it can be at least $ 1).

    8. Unusual free tours

New York is good because here, if you wish, you can find cheap (or even completely free) entertainment for almost every taste. So, every Friday at 12:30 there are free tours of such interesting places as the Whispering Gallery of the Central Terminal and the Chrysler Building. The address is 120 Park Ave, at 42nd St, Midtown East. It is at such events that you can not only see the secret places of New York, but also learn many interesting stories related to them.

    9. Socrates Park

If you want to see New York from an unusual side – welcome to the Socrates Sculpture Park on the East River, Queens. A former dump, now the place is popular because artists and other creative personalities can create sculptural and multimedia compositions (in general, create) here in an open space. In summer, film screenings and light shows are also held here.

The park is open to the public and admission is free from 10:00 am to sunset 7 days a week. Address: Broadway at Vernon Blvd, Astoria, Queens.

    10. New York Wharfs

If you’re into the romantic spirit, with proper athletic training, you can veer off the beaten tourist trail and hit the water. NYC State Piers (Downtown Boathouse Center and Long Island Community in Queens) offer free kayak rentals to cruise the Hudson. Well, if you haven’t kept oars since birth, don’t despair. There are also free 3-hour guided tours.

Find the museum at 1230 5th Avenue at 104th Street. Admission is $9 (adults) and $5 (students and seniors). Every third Saturday of the month admission is free.

    12. Wave Hill Botanical Garden

For those who have already had their fill of New York delights and frantic rhythm, longing for peace and quiet, we advise you to go to the Wave Hill Botanical Garden. It is located on the territory of the estate of the same name – the former country cottage of the beginning of the century. Now it is one of the favorite vacation spots of New Yorkers.

Stroll through the verdant alleys of the Landscape Park, wander through the woods, or relax in the shade of the oak at the edge of the pond. And if you get tired – folding garden chairs in shady arbors are at your service. What is not a place for unity with nature?

You can get to Wave Hill by taking the train from Grand Central Station (you need the one that goes in the direction of Poughkeepsie). Get off at Riverdale station, and from there the garden is within easy reach. For those who are especially lazy, a park bus runs from the station to the garden.

New York is not only a city of contrasts, it is a real Babylon, where, it seems, all the nations of the world have mixed up. To learn more about them, it is worth visiting cultural centers and museums organized by local diasporas, such as the Studio Museum in Harlem.

The museum is dedicated to the cultural and artistic heritage of immigrants from the African continent. Works of artists and craftsmen are exhibited here, creative evenings, master classes and excursions are held for everyone. Do not miss your chance to touch the mysterious and vibrant art of Africa!

    14. New York Museum of the American Indian

By now, perhaps not everyone is aware that the original inhabitants of the States are actually Indians. So, to fill this gap, and also learn a bunch of interesting things about the culture and art of real Americans, you should go to the New York Museum of the American Indian. The collection of Indian art collected here is one of the best in the country. From the variety of paintings, ceramics and jewelry, just run your eyes!

New York State, USA travel guide Planet of Hotels

Albany is the capital of the state of New York and lies on the right bank of the Hudson River. This is one of the oldest cities in the USA. Its appearance is a combination of modern architecture and ancient buildings. An unusual building of the concert hall – “Egg”, which resembles a flying saucer. The city hall building is a classic of the Victorian era. The university is an example of neo-gothic. The most famous building in the city is the majestic and ornate State Capitol. At one time it was the most expensive building among analogues.
Among the religious buildings it is necessary to note the old Dutch church (XVIII century), as well as the neo-Gothic churches of the Immaculate Conception and St. Joseph. Albany is home to one of the oldest museums in the United States – the Institute of History and Arts. And if a tourist is tired of sightseeing, he can relax in one of Albany’s many parks, the most famous of which are Tivoli, Washington and Lincoln.

New York. The largest city in the state, one of the three largest financial centers in the world. It is a city of skyscrapers and magnificent temples. A city of glass, concrete and picturesque parks. More than 50 million tourists visit it every year. Everything is famous here – streets, houses, museums, theaters, monuments. The Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and Trinity Church, the Metropolitan Opera House and Carnegie Hall are attractions that everyone has heard of. Broadway is the longest street in the US with dozens of theaters along it. Fifth Avenue, with its chic shops, and amazing museums. Wall street with stock exchange. In New York, there are fifty buildings above 200 m. The most famous are the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Woolworth Building, the Rockefeller Center complex. The tallest is the new building of the World Trade Center, built on the site of the “twin towers” (417 m). The most unusual is the Flatiron Building – triangular in section. There are several museums in New York with the richest collections. The Metropolitan Museum of Art – 2 million exhibits – from ancient Egypt and Assyria to the classics of the Renaissance and the Impressionists. Museum of Modern Art – 150,000 items, including works by the most famous masters of the XIX-XXI centuries. The Guggenheim Museum is known not only for the originality of the building, but also for its grandiose exhibitions. And then there is the Whitney Museum and the Frick Gallery, the Brooklyn Museum and the stunning Natural History Museum. New York is the Babylon of modernity.

Buffalo (Buffalo) is the second largest city in the state. It is located near the Canadian border, on the shores of Lake Erie, not far from Niagara Falls. At one time, this city was the first in the United States, whose streets were illuminated by electric lights. The city will delight lovers of architecture. The Buffalo City Hall (City Hall) is one of the largest of its kind in the country. On the roof of the building there is an observation deck with a good view of the city. In front of the building, on Lafayette Square, there is a memorial to President William McKinley, who died in Buffalo at the hands of a terrorist. Of interest are the old buildings of the city hall, and the post office, and a very original building of the city court. Spread out in the northern part of the city, Delaware Park is one of the masterpieces of landscape design. It, among other things, houses an art museum and a small zoo. And just 25 km from Buffalo is Niagara Falls.

Rochester is a city on the shores of Lake Ontario. Since it houses several optical industries, it is called the “optical capital of the world”. Rochester is a modern city, and there are few architectural monuments in it. But it has several unique museums. For example, the George Eastman Museum of Photography and Photographic Equipment is very interesting. The Children’s Museum of Games, which, in fact, is an entertainment center, is also very popular. One problem is that if you enter the Museum of Games with a child, you will not leave it soon. And not far from the city you can find many wonderful places for hiking in nature – Rochester is simply surrounded and riddled with parks.

Child Care | Escuela Hispana Montessori Daycare Center

Our teachers provide meaningful opportunities to help flourish the child’s development. Pretend play, housekeeping, reading and writing, math concepts, science, technology, art expressions, outdoor play, and music and movement will provide your child with rich learning experiences to build up confidence and sense of belonging. Our daily schedule favors every child with opportunities to shape, discover, and learn new concepts through hands-on experiences. Our school offers school readiness, early literacy focused program, innovative evidence based curriculum, grounded family and community partnership which provides a rich learning environment and a holistic project based approach to learning.

    STEAM Room

(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics)

Teachers encourage active, often hands-on experiences to build understanding and vocabulary, critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and reflection. We promote inquiry experiences by creating opportunities for children to learn about the world through STEAM lenses and by asking high-quality, open-ended questions. Children are provided with opportunities to approach problems in new and creative ways.

    Gardening

Escuela Hispana Montessori believes that children can learn and develop from nature. For this reason, we created a gardening space for our community. We believe in enhancing in the creativity inside and outside the class. In New York City, it is a rarity and a commodity to have such a large outdoor playground with plenty of space. Fun EHM has the space and equipment /material to bring learning to the outdoor environment. Our children and teachers will be creating apple orchards, pumpkin patches, and many more exciting experiences to come.  We will be following the health and safety practices outside the playgrounds.  Children will learn about responsibility when it comes to taking care of a plant, build self-confidence, cause and effect, explore texture, teamwork, math concepts, and creativity.

    Sensory and Occupational Room

The objective for creating a welcoming sensory room with developmentally appropriate materials was to build children’s language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem-solving skills, and social interaction. In addition, we believe that children will develop and enhance memory functioning, and help reduce anxiety or frustration.

    Physical Development:

    Fine and Gross Motor Room

Our children will be provided with fine motor skill activities that will involve manual dexterity and often require coordinating movements of the hands and fingers with the eyes. Children will discover and learn how to stack a block tower, turn doorknobs, wash hands independently, rip and unzip large zippers, manipulate clay or play dough, cut a piece of paper, draw a circle, fasten and unfasten buttons, get dressed without help, use a fork correctly, cut out a circle, grasp a pencil and/or crayon, and tie shoelaces. Our children will build their gross motor skills that involves large muscle groups. They will discover and learn how to kick, jump, gallop, throw or catch a ball, walk up the stairs by alternating feet, ride a tricycle using pedals, run without falling, throw a ball, and catch a ball.

Three State of the Art Playgrounds

Since Escuela Hispana Montessori believes in children growing, developing and bonding outside of the classroom, we have provided a variety of activities available for all types of interests.

    Family/Isolation Room

Children that are sick will have a comfortable space while he or she waits for the parent or guardian to arrive.

    Literacy Focused Program

Our teachers surround children in a language rich environment with lots of attention, interaction, and engaging things to see and do which is essential to literacy development.

    Developmentally Appropriate Practices

At Escuela Hispana Montessori, teachers support excellence in early childhood education through decision-making based on knowledge about each child and an awareness of the principles of child growth as well as effective early learning practices.

    Innovative Evidence Based Curriculum

Our teachers identify, assess, and implement teaching strategies that are supported by research to help professionals in with inquiries, findings, applications, and evaluations of teachings practices.

    Family and Community Partnership

We, as a community, strongly believe in a shared responsibility to engage families in meaningful and culturally appropriate ways, and they actively support their children’s development.

    Provide a Rich Learning Environment

Teachers use the learning classroom environment to provide children with specific, concrete information for them about what is expected and valued, include meaningful materials and equipment, and they support and extend curriculum and instruction. In addition, our teachers build a sense of community and create a welcoming climate. They attend to the health and safety of children as well as respond to the way children learn and develop across the domains of learning.

    Cultural Appreciation

We, at Escuela Hispana Montessori, believe in the importance of promoting quality early learning environments for children that are culturally and developmentally appropriate.  Our Teachers engage children in culturally responsive experiences to help promote self-confidence and skills, boost awareness, appreciation and inclusion of diverse beliefs and cultures.

Helpful Tips to Make Pet Sitting Easy

    Table of Contents

Are you leaving your avian companion to a sitter?

If you have already found a reliable person to take care of your pet, the next thing to consider is what to instruct a bird sitter.

In this article, we’ll discuss the sets of instructions you should give to a pet bird sitter regarding the:

    • Food
    • Shower
    • Cleaning arrangements and many more

You surely don’t want to miss a thing so your bird can still have the best quality of life while you’re away. So, we’ll help you sort everything out before leaving.

What to Instruct a Bird Sitter?

There are lots of things you need to inform your bird sitter about. But what should be included in pet-sitting instructions?

    1. Food

Before anything else, you must ensure your avian companion won’t starve by providing detailed feeding instructions to your bird sitter.

You have to write down everything, including:

    • What time to feed your bird
    • What type and flavor of food, treats, and snacks should be given
    • How much food does your bird needs
    • Any restrictions and allergies to prevent medical emergencies while you’re away.

Be detailed as much as possible, especially if you don’t have enough stocks of bird feed at home.

If your bird’s diet mainly consists of fresh produce, you must leave a list of the vegetables and fruits your birds can eat. And if you’ll be gone for a long time, you may need to leave money so your bird sitter can buy fresh produce.

Don’t forget to leave a list of foods that are dangerous for birds, such as:

    • Salty foods
    • Sweet foods
    • Chocolate because it contains toxins that can be fatal to birds
    • Avocado since it has persin which affects the heart of your pet
    • And dairy products (a little will do but too much can pose a health risk)

To add, instruct your bird sitter on what type of water to give your bird, whether tap, bottled, or filtered water.

You must also stress how often should he or she change the water and clean the bowls to ensure slime won’t grow on them.

    2. Cleaning Up

Don’t forget to inform your bird sitter about the location of your cage-cleaning supplies like paper towels, what bird-friendly cleaners you use, and how often you want the bird cage to be cleaned.

Ensure that the trash can is accessible and that there are extra garbage bags. You can also note when trash pickup can be expected and how to use cleaning supplies like a vacuum.

    3. Shower Tips

If your bird takes a bath regularly, you should inform your pet sitter how it should be done according to your pet’s liking.

Tell him or her if you mist or bathe your birds and how often you want your pet to go to the shower.

Grooming is important for birds. And if your pet has other special needs, let your bird sitter know to ensure he or she can carry out the job properly.

    4. Your Bird’s Sleeping and Waking-Up Time

You also need to inform your bird sitter when your bird sleeps and wakes up to ensure your pet can sleep on time without distractions.

Birds need at least 12 hours of sleep, and it must be met to avoid cranky behavior.

But he or she must make sure to keep the environment as peaceful as possible so birds can sleep on time at night.

    5. Socialization Tips

Not all birds are friendly to strangers. In fact, most of them are wary when they see new faces.

So to help establish trust between the bird sitter and your avian pet, introduce them to each other and give your pet some tips on how to approach your bird.

If your bird bites or nips, you need to let him or her know what to do to avoid it.

You can also give him or her your bird’s favorite snack, treats or toys, and music to make socialization easier for your sitter.

If possible, give your bird sitter some tricks that can get your bird’s attention, and it can show off to your sitter.

But some birds only bond to one specific person. So, if the bird sitter fails to get your pet’s trust despite all the efforts, he or she may have to focus on the chores and avoid bothering your avian companion.

    6. Medications

If your bird is on medication, you must inform your pet sitter about the name, dose, frequency, and time to give the medication.

Give him or her detailed instructions about how to administer it and where to keep your bird’s meds.

He or she also needs to look out for signs of discomfort and illness and let you know if there are noticeable signs of sickness, such as:

    • Puffed up perch
    • Head tucked into the back of its feathers
    • No response when called or when the sitter walks into the room
    • Not eating the food or favorite treat nor drinking water
    • Watery, different-colored droppings
    • Bald spots caused by feather picking or injury
    • Bleeding due to broken blood feathers or injuries

    7. Flight and Pet Rules

Does your bird interact with other pets like cats and dogs?

Whether they have a designated socialization time and location, it’s important to note that birds are vulnerable. Your other pets can also attack them even if they’re used to seeing each other.

Cats’ and dogs’ predator instincts may arise anytime. So, it’s best to separate birds and other pets and instruct your bird sitter to watch them closely.

You also need to provide instructions on where your bird can fly and if it’s clipped or not.

Birds may fly away when given a chance, so he or she must know which controlled environment is suitable for free flying.

    8. Things Your Birds Should Not Be Exposed To

Remind your bird sitter not to use chemicals when you’re bird is around because avians have a sensitive respiratory system. Even non-stick pans containing Teflon should be avoided because they give off toxic gases to birds.

Even cigarette smoke, air fresheners, fragrant candles, perfumes, hair sprays, and bug sprays should not be used when the bird is around.

Your pet sitter may have known these facts, but it’s best to remind them to ensure your bird’s safety.

If you allow your bird to go outside to enjoy some fresh air, tell your pet sitter to check if there’s any construction work or painting near you because they’re hazardous for birds.

Information Every Bird Sitter Must Know

Aside from the set of instructions above, your chosen bird sitter must also have access to the following information to provide the best possible care to your bird.

    1. Pet Information

Before signing a contract with your bird sitter, it’s best to provide the following basic information about your beloved pet.

    • Bird’s name, age, and gender
    • Diseases your pet is currently experiencing or has screened for
    • Bird’s waking up and sleeping time
    • Bathing and drinking habits
    • Flying habits/ routine inside your home
    • Biting incidences and violent tendencies of your bird

    2. Trip Information

You must also inform your bird about your departure time and return to prevent misunderstandings.

You need to detail if you’ll feed your bird or clean the cage on the first day of your trip and if you expect the house and cage to be cleaned when you arrive.

    3. Contact Information

Don’t forget to ask and give your contact information to your bird sitter. It’d also help if you could provide details about your campground or hotel.

If your bird sitter has any inquiries and can’t contact you via email or texts, you may also provide your friends’ or families’ contact details.

    4. Vet Information

Don’t forget to provide the name of your veterinarian as well. It’s important to let the veterinarian know who will care for your birds while you are away.

The last thing you want to happen when you’re away is your pet getting sick.

But if your bird needs to visit the vet, provide the pet caretaker with a signed authorization form.

Make a note of your veterinarian’s name, contact details, and clinic address for your pet sitter. Let people know whether you have pet insurance at this point.

Include your bird’s medical background, especially if it has any recurring health problems. Include the contact information for an after-hours emergency veterinary clinic as an added precaution.

Then, if financial limitations or care requirements arise because of a bird’s known illness, let the doctor and the parrot sitter know.

    5. House Information

The last thing you want while you’re leaving is to be pestered with inquiries about where the electrical panel is.

Your Wi-Fi network and password, as well as any security codes or other crucial information, should be communicated to your bird sitter in advance.

Last but not least, before you depart, make sure to stock up on all of your pet’s necessities and leave them out in the open where your pet sitter can readily locate them.

This will prevent them from having to leave your pet to get more supplies.

What Are the Duties of a Pet Sitter?

Feeding, interacting with your bird, and cage cleaning are all included in bird-sitting services.

You can ask your bird sitter to bathe or groom your pet bird and engage it in games or activities stimulating the mind.

Professional bird sitters must undergo first aid training, be licensed, and have client references.

Some pet sitters also deliver mail, pick up newspapers, and water plants at their clients’ residences.

Where to Find a Bird Sitter

Asking friends, family, or neighbors who also own birds for references is the most effective approach to discovering a reputable bird sitter.

Inquire whether your local humane society and your veterinarian have staff members working as part-time bird watchers. Try looking for adverts on bulletin boards at nearby businesses or your veterinarian’s office.

Additionally, you can look for bird sitters online. You can search for qualified applicants on neighborhood and local Facebook groups and pages.

However, membership lists from professional pet-sitting organizations like Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters are more trustworthy.

Another convenient resource for finding the top local bird sitters is Care.com.

Simply input your requirements for a bird sitter, check out parent reviews, and arrange a visit at a time that works for you. There are hundreds of local ads, along with the best bird-sitting experts.

There’s a good chance that the local bird club has a list of pet bird sitters if there is one.

If you can’t find one, a dependable friend, neighbor, or family member who gets along with your bird and can take care of it will do.

Do You Provide Food for Pet Sitter?

You are not obliged to provide food for your pet or bird sitter unless you want to. The bird sitter’s rate is usually inclusive, but discuss the food, guests, tv, and sleeping arrangements before booking with your chosen sitter.

Other bird owners leave extra food and a generous tip for their bird sitters since they find them a valuable resource. But it all boils down to your personal preferences.

Final Recap on What to Instruct a Bird Sitter

And that’s it! We hope you’ve picked up several valuable information about what to instruct a bird sitter from this guide.

Of course, food, shower, cleaning arrangements, sleeping time, and mentally-stimulating activities should be the sitter’s priorities.

But you also need to provide complete information about your pet, trip, avian veterinarian, and house to make it easier for your bird sitter to do the job.

In return, you may ask your pet sitter for updates via email or text to see how your bird is doing. And if you have security cameras around your home, you may check your bird’s situation anywhere.

However, how should you choose the right pet sitter? The article below will answer that question.

Have we missed something on our list of what to instruct a bird sitter? Let us know in the comment section below.

Standing, lying or sitting – Is there any logic?

In order not to tire the impatient with unnecessary comments, I will first cite the original text, reflections will follow.

Original text “Standing, lying or sitting”

There is a table in front of us. There is a glass and a fork on the table. What are they doing? The glass stands, and the fork lies. If we stick a fork into the countertop, the fork will stand. Those. vertical objects stand, and horizontal ones lie?

Add a plate and pan to the table. They seem to be horizontal, but they stand on the table. Now put the plate in the pan. There she lies, but she stood on the table. Maybe there are items ready for use? No, the fork was ready when it lay.

Now the cat is climbing on the table. She can stand, sit and lie down. If in terms of standing and lying, it somehow climbs into the “vertical-horizontal” logic, then sitting is a new property. She sits on her butt.

Now a bird has landed on the table. She sits on the table, but sits on her feet, not on the pope. Although it looks like it should be. But she can’t stand at all. But if we kill the poor bird and make a scarecrow, it will stand on the table.

It may seem that sitting is an attribute of the living, but the boot also sits on the leg, although it is not alive and has no priests.

So, go and understand what is standing, what is lying, and what is sitting. And we are still surprised that foreigners consider our language difficult and compare it with Chinese.

    Introduction

Language is the history of the people. Language is the way of civilization and culture. Therefore, the study and preservation of the Russian language is not an idle occupation with nothing to do, but an urgent need.

    Kuprin A. I.

Back in 2012, I tried to analyze the popular comic text “Standing, lying or sitting”. My article was received unfriendly, even my acquaintances did not support me. That article was written poorly – I won’t argue – but 8 years have passed, and I have not changed my position and I think that the Russian language is important, it needs to be treated with respect, it needs to be understood, and not made fun of.

Perhaps I wouldn’t be so categorical if the Russian language wasn’t treated so barbarically these days and everywhere, from everyday communication to the educational system.

Let me remind you that this comic text is very popular on the Internet and has been replicated in a colossal amount for mass fun, but let’s – “press the old woman with the code” – let’s turn to logic and explanatory dictionary.

    Is there any logic?

There is a table in front of us. There is a glass and a fork on the table. What are they doing? The glass stands, and the fork lies.

That’s right – the glass is standing because it was put down, and the fork is lying down because it was put down.

If we stick a fork into the tabletop, the fork will stand. Those. vertical objects stand, and horizontal ones lie?

That’s right – if the object can be placed in a vertical position, then it is considered to be standing, and if in a horizontal position, then it is lying.

Add a plate and pan to the table. They seem to be horizontal, but they stand on the table.

The word “stand” is largely defined by the word “set”, and this word has more than 10 meanings, including: to bring to a state suitable for work – suitable for plates and pans.

Now put the plate in the pan. There she lies, but she stood on the table. Maybe there are items ready for use? No, the fork was ready when it lay.

The plate is in the pan because it was put there, the plate is no longer ready for work (use). The fork will be ready for use when it is taken in hand. The latter is, of course, a controversial statement, but it is confirmed by the fact that the fork will already sit in the hand, like the knife, which should sit well in the hand, we will return to this below.

The cat is now climbing onto the table. She can stand, sit and lie down. If in terms of standing and lying, it somehow climbs into the “vertical-horizontal” logic, then sitting is a new property. She sits on her butt.

The cat stands on its feet, it lies on its stomach or on its side, it sits on its bottom – everything is as it should be.

Now a bird has landed on the table. She sits on the table, but sits on her feet, not on the pope. Although it looks like it should be. But she can’t stand at all.

The bird is sitting because it has landed. Birds either fly in the sky or sit on the ground. However, if we use our imagination, we will soon imagine how birds can walk, jump, sit in a nest, and, for example, a heron can stand in water.

But if we kill the poor bird and make a stuffed animal, it will stand on the table.

So it is – the scarecrow cannot fly, therefore it cannot land, and, therefore, it will stand, like all objects placed in the right place (details in the dictionary).

It may seem that sitting is an attribute of the living, but the boot also sits on the leg, although it is not alive and has no priests.

In Russian, the word “sit” has many meanings, one of which refers to clothes, shoes, tools, and means: to fit, fit, fit comfortably, fit close to the body.

So, go and understand what is standing, what is lying, and what is sitting. And we are still surprised that foreigners consider our language difficult and compare it with Chinese.

    Conclusion

In every language there are difficulties in Russian, and in Chinese, and in Hungarian, which has 34 cases, but I’m not talking about that. I would like to remind you that you need to have fun wisely, and specifically in this case, turn to the explanatory dictionary for an explanation of the words: stand, lie down and sit. After such an acquaintance with words, this text becomes more primitive than comic, and you become smarter – and your interests become more significant.

Knowing the mechanics of this avian contact with the branch, it is difficult to determine what it is doing there. The fact is that grabbing a branch with three fingers in front and one behind, the bird does not strain a single muscle. The tendons of the paw are arranged in such a way that the weight of the bird itself pulls them and the back toe bends towards the front. That is why the bird can sleep sitting on a branch, not at all worrying that in a dream the grip will weaken, and it will crash from the tree. That is, maybe she is not sitting, not standing, but hanging.

    About the Provider

Description: The Child Care Programs are a ministry of the Gallatin Church of Christ that provides quality early childhood education to families in the Gallatin area. As a program of the church, we are committed to laying a foundation of biblical principles that includes the following goals:
To accept children of all faiths, and all socioeconomic or ethnic backgrounds.
To encourage emotional, social, physical, and mental developments through a variety of age-appropriate activities.
To teach the basic Christian values of love, kindness, tolerance, and sharing, while encouraging children to value themselves and others.
To strengthen family life through parent conferences, educational programs, and available resources of the church as needs arise.
To make every effort to provide quality and affordable childcare to all families.

Throughout our programs, we encourage children to progress in the following areas:
Learn to cope with a group situation – making and enjoying friends and sharing responsibility.
Learn motor skills appropriate for their age.
Develop a degree of independence and self-confidence appropriate for their age.
Develop social skills – giving and receiving, recognizing the feelings of others, finding acceptable ways of solving problems, and learning courteous and thoughtful behavior.
Learn simple skills in math and science, develop language skills, and develop appreciations for literature, music, and art.
Learn to appreciate home, school, church, and community, and recognize God’s plan for us to live happily in our world.

Sermon on the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.
On September 27, Orthodox Christians celebrate the Exaltation of the Cross …

On September 10, 2001, in the city of Noginsk, Moscow Region, with the blessing of Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna and on the basis of the decree of the Head of the Noginsk District dated September 10, 2001 No. 1995, the municipal preschool educational institution “Children’s Garden No. 19 Orthodox”, aimed at children from Orthodox families aged 3 to 7 years.

A small one-story building built in 1954 is designed for 2 groups, in which 60 children are now accommodated with great difficulty. Unfortunately, due to the lack of premises, it is impossible to distribute children by age, so the groups are mixed from 3 to 5 years and from 5 to 7 years. On the other hand, it is this circumstance that helps to educate children in responsibility for the younger ones, teaches them to be attentive to loved ones.

Over the years of existence, a sensitive, qualified, child-loving staff of 17 people has been formed in the preschool institution. In addition to educators, such specialists as a speech therapist teacher, music director, physical education instructor, teacher of fine arts work in the preschool educational institution.

The Noginsk District Hospital takes care of the medical care of children, the health of the pupils is under the vigilant supervision of a pediatrician and a paramedic. In the kindergarten, a speech center, an elective on the Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture, and an art activity circle are successfully functioning.

88% of the teaching staff have a higher pedagogical education and 22% have a secondary vocational education; 50% of teachers are certified for 1 qualification category, the rest are preparing for certification in 2014. The teaching staff is full of strength and energy, as it is at the most successful age, when there is already experience, professionalism is accumulating and a lot of vitality and desire to work: 63% of teachers under the age of 40 and 37% under the age of 50. Teachers of preschool educational institutions constantly improve their skills, participate and are winners of city, regional and international competitions. Under the guidance of teachers, children participate in concerts and also win competitions.

Under the spiritual leadership of the Dean of the Churches of the Bogorodsk District, Rector of the Epiphany Cathedral, Archpriest Mikhail Yalov, in close cooperation with the parents of children, under the patronage of Priest Oleg Sirotenko, the staff of the preschool educational institution has been solving the problem of meeting the needs of society in educating a morally stable younger generation for 12 years now and, as far as possible, creates conditions for the upbringing of preschool children in the spirit of Orthodoxy.

Education and upbringing of children is carried out according to the exemplary basic general educational program of preschool education “From birth to school” edited by N.E. Veraksa, T.S. Komarova, M.A. Vasilyeva with the content module “Good World” L.L. Shevchenko, as well as including the partial program for art activity “Colored Hands” by I.A. Lykova, special programs are used to correct the speech of children.

For 12 years, the Orthodox kindergarten has made 11 editions. 89 people left the walls of the preschool educational institution, and most of them study at the Orthodox Gymnasium named after Konstantin Bogorodsky. The city has built a unique system of continuous Orthodox spiritual and moral education of children, starting from preschool age, then at school age (Orthodox gymnasium, defense industry in secondary schools) and the opportunity to enter universities with an Orthodox orientation.

At present, there is a large queue of people in the kindergarten who want to educate their children in the spirit of Orthodoxy. The institution is attended by many children from low-income and large families. It is not yet possible to satisfy the needs of everyone, since the kindergarten needs additional premises for children of two age groups, bedrooms, sports and music halls. Despite the existing difficulties, the Orthodox kindergarten lives a rich and interesting life, filled with the spirit of kindness, care, love for one’s neighbor – this is an organism that tries to adhere to Orthodox traditions and absorb all the good that the Church of Christ contains.

    Confessor of the kindergarten:

Priest Oleg (Sirotenko), cleric of the Cathedral of the Epiphany.

From time immemorial, piercing has been a way to decorate yourself. Ear piercing is the most popular type of piercing and the most “generally recognized”, inherent in all social groups. Most often, women’s ears are pierced, although men are not far behind.

In Perm, you can pierce the ears of a child, an adult man or a woman at the Genesis clinic.

We will discuss how the ears and auricles are pierced, at what age you can start doing it, what methods exist and give recommendations on how to care for the piercing.

    Ear piercing for children

The main question that worries parents is whether it is possible to pierce the ears of baby girls and how safe this procedure is. You can pierce the ears of children, but pediatricians still recommend waiting until the age of 10. But this age is not fixed by law, and formally manipulation can be performed even on a 6-month-old child.

In fact, the procedure is safe, just until the auricle has grown, the puncture is formed in one place, and then, as the baby grows older, it can move. It doesn’t always look aesthetically pleasing.

The next thing to know if you decide to pierce your child’s ears is the right time. The off-season is best – in winter, the ears grow more slowly, and in the summer it is difficult to process the wound.

You can pierce your ears in Perm at st. Chernyshevsky 15B, ask the administrators of the Genesis clinic for prices.

    How ears are pierced

There are two most common ways – ear piercing with a needle and ear piercing with a gun.

Piercing the earlobes with a gun is the easiest and fastest option. Earrings made of surgical steel are inserted into the gun (to prevent suppuration and infection), then the master marks the places of future punctures and disinfects the skin. The gun grabs the lobe from both sides, and the earring immediately ends up in the ear. By the way, these earrings are a real decoration. You can choose the stone and color of the metal according to your taste.

Does it hurt to pierce your ears? Absolutely not. The only thing is that the puncture site can burn a little for a while (not for long and not much).

You can also pierce a child’s ears with a medical needle. For this procedure, a very thin needle with a diameter of 1 mm is used. The disadvantage of the procedure is that this method of puncture is more painful (but tolerable). And a definite plus in hygiene, because the doctor opens the needle in front of the patient, while the gun is reusable.

How to care for your ears after a piercing

Remember the following rules for caring for your ears after the procedure:

    1. Do not take the earring out of your ear.
    2. Treat the earring and piercing directly with the earring in the ear.
    3. The puncture zone should be treated with alcohol or Miramistin.
    4. Such care should be carried out within a month.
    5. Doctors advise after wearing the first jewelry made of steel to wear for some time only gold or patina, and only far later – jewelry.

Can you do ear piercing at home? It is absolutely impossible to do ear piercing on your own at home! The consequences can be the most terrible – from infection to cartilage trauma.

    Contraindications for ear piercing

Despite the fact that ear piercing is a simple procedure, it still has a number of contraindications. These include:

    • nervous disorders;
    • head injury;
    • blood diseases;
    • diabetes;
    • oncological diseases.

How to make an appointment for ear piercing

Check the cost of the procedure with the administrators of the clinic. Making an appointment is very easy. Five ways to choose:

    • call by phone: +7 (342) 200 95 31, +7 (342) 202 64 02;
    • sign up online;
    • write a personal message in the VKontakte group: vk.com/genesis_perm;

    About the clinic

I got sick and asked for help from a therapist. Belkina listened carefully, clarified the details, and conducted an inspection. It did not seem that she did not care, she behaved with interest and indifference, which speaks of her humanity. Someone will say that the knowledge of a doctor is more important, I agree with this, but you still want attention, even unconsciously, it seems to me that everyone will agree with this. As for communication with the therapist, I have no complaints, everything was polite and to the point, the recommendations she gave helped me, so I consider it a good experience to visit this clinic.

Nowadays it is very difficult to find a good doctor. No matter how many times I went to different doctors, how many injections and pills I took, the pain in my shoulder did not disappear. Thank you doctor-professional for the joy of living without pain!

    About the clinic

I made an appointment with a massage therapist on a referral from a neurologist. Near my house is the clinic “Genesis”. So I decided to go to this medical center. I called the reception and they wrote me down to Andrey Vladimirovich. He is just a wonderful doctor! I am absolutely delighted with the reception! I arrived much earlier than the appointed time, but the doctor was able to see me. The doctor is very attentive, polite and friendly. He knows how to find an approach to any patient. I thought I was assigned to a female doctor and I was shocked when I saw the man. I was very shy. But Dr. Borisov was able to calm me down. He said that he should not be treated like a man, but like a doctor. My appointment took quite a long time. First, the doctor conducted a complete diagnosis and studied all the results of my tests. Then we started the process itself. The doctor has very strong hands and was able to alleviate my pain from the first session. I have a lot of pain under my right shoulder blade. Sometimes the pain reaches the neck and spine. I really hope that after the course, everything will pass. I have already made an appointment with this specialist and look forward to it. I will definitely recommend Andrey Vladimirovich to all my friends and relatives!

Liked: I had an appointment with a gastroenterologist at Genesis. I really liked the doctor and her approach to the patient. She spent as much time as needed to discuss all my concerns. It was evident that the doctor was trying to get to the bottom of my complaint as much as possible, and was in no hurry to send me out. Of course, some more tests and ultrasounds are scheduled for me, but I already see that we will come to a good result with the doctor. I will definitely go back to her for a follow up appointment.

In general, it is best to remove the earrings and heal the ears. And then it will be possible to pierce again if there is a desire.

locally – juice aloe. If it’s really bad, then you can make such a trick with your ears :)))

Pour warm boiled water into a basin, dilute the potassium permanganate and hold the ears in turn in the water.

Actively warm water should beat, but not hot. Then dry and smear with aloe and juice from a freshly cut twig.

SILVER SHOULD NOT BE PUT IN PRIMARY PIERCINGS! EVEN PIERCING THE EARLOBS!

If you are convinced of the opposite and you are over 18 years old – bet for God’s sake, only then do not complain because you will be sent by all piercers.

    #24

Put back good medicine (in Moscow 1 piece – 250 rubles worth of good medical earrings) Buy in cosmetology in the salon from a cosmetologist.

Six months is nothing to worry about. Treat with vodka. If you are afraid – dilute vodka with water. The hole should pop out. Good luck

    #25

You can’t treat a wound with alcohol (VODKA??), because every time you burn the protective film formed and prevent it from healing. Alcohol is only needed to disinfect jewelry at home. Rinse only with miramistin, chlorhexidine and other special solutions.

Medical earring – no such thing. There are jewelry made of surgical steel, also known as “medical alloy” in the common people, a relatively safe material. Scalpels, needles, instruments are made from it – something that does not come into contact with blood, plasma, etc. for a long time. Jewelry made from a high-quality medical alloy CAN be worn in healed punctures or those that heal in less than 20 days, because after that the alloy begins to oxidize due to the fact that it contains nickel, which is dangerous for the human body.

Good quality gold, titanium, bioplastic PTFE and chir steel (last at your risk) can be worn in primary piercings.

    Nothing should “get sick”.

    Remove earrings, heal, puncture.

And do not use folk remedies without consulting a doctor – or at least use a search engine. Many of them will help one – harm the other. Medicine is at least universal.

It is obligatory to take blood tests and check the general condition of the body.

ZY This is a feature of the body, I repeat. That is, far from the fact that the daughter will happen the same way. But in any case, do the right thing – a person will grow up and decide for himself where to wear “pieces of iron” and whether to wear them at all.
