Allie has been making a tremendous impact alongside The Cradle Club since February of 2012.  As a seasoned veteran, she has made a lasting difference in the lives of many as a revered teacher in our toddler and preschool programs. Having such a plethora of knowledge coupled with an excellent reputation, Allie was promoted to Third in Charge and then became our Center Director. Allie has a degree in Early Childhood and Applied Science from Rasmussen College with Honors and in March of 2019, she graduated with her Business Certificate. Prior to working with us at the Cradle Club, Allie has nannied for multiple families and has worked at other centers with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers as well. As a mother to three boys of her own, Allie wholeheartedly understands the emotions each parent experiences when choosing a home-away-from-home for their child or children. Because of this, Allie has become truly passionate about guiding each of our families to know and understand all of the outstanding things that The Cradle Club has to offer them. If you asked her, Allie would tell you that her favorite thing about her role is that she loves that she is able to get to know each child’s individual personality in order to provide the safest and healthiest environment she can for them.

Assistant Director

Stephanie has been with The Cradle Club since September of 2013. Now a seasoned veteran, she began her career making an impact as an admired teacher in our infant, toddler and preschool programs. Having experience with every age child in our program, Stephanie serves as a pillar of knowledge to our teachers and is a valuable resource for our families and the children in our care. Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge to our team through her formal education in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth as well as previous management experience. As a mom to three boys herself, she understands the importance of choosing a program of excellence that also feels like home. She loves to witness all of the love at The Cradle Club and is always around to applaud each child as they learn and grow!

Christa Vernstrom

Corporate Mentor and Behavior Guidance Specialist

Christa’s experience serving children and families began at a very young age. From helping her mom in the nursery at her local church and babysitting for neighborhood families to becoming a wonderful mom and the admired leader she is today, Christa has what seems like a lifetime of wisdom in the field. Beginning her career at the Cradle Club as a teacher in 2008, she has experience working with children ages infants to preschool and has developed a deep understanding of what excellence in care and education looks like for all. Christa has also served as an incredible Assistant and Center Director for our school. In addition to Christa’s wealth of experience, she also holds formal training from Rasmussen College where she received her certificate in Early Childhood Education. In her current role as Corporate Mentor and Behavior Guidance Specialist, Christa partners directly with our classrooms as a mentor to our wonderful staff and enjoys working to provide the best experience possible for Cradle Club children and their families. School Environment

Maple Grove Estates Childcare is a spacious home-based program that offers a play-based teaching philosophy and is geared toward children under 4 years old. The daycare facilities are clean with lots of natural light and tons of age-appropriate toys that create an inviting and playful environment. Weather permitting children spend two hours playing in the very large grassy fenced yard with tons of outdoor toys and equipment. The program is well-situated near major highways, metro stations, a bus stop and a mall.

Program

Maple Grove Estates Childcare is conveniently located within a couple of miles from the I-95 & I-495, the Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn metro stations, and the Springfield Mall. This is a spacious and bright daycare that offers year-round care for children from birth through 4 years old in a pet and smoke-free home. Maple Grove Estates Childcare has been in business for 13 years serving civilian and military families alike.
Meals are not provided, so parents send lunch from home. The provider encourages nursing mothers to send breast milk, or to stop by during the day to nurse their little ones. She has an open door policy and encourages parents to come by at any time.
Maple Grove Estates Childcare has a standard vacation and sick policy. If a child is sick with 101 fever or loose bowels, he/she must be picked up within an hour and be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to daycare. The program does not offer reduced tuition due to illness or vacation. Maple Grove Estates Childcare does participate in a subsidized child care program, but parents have to cover any remaining amount of tuition.

Curriculum

Maple Grove Estates Childcare follows a play-based teaching philosophy that uses redirection for discipline and helps children develop social and motor skills, including good manners. Math, physical activity, art, and music are all part of a daily curriculum with the greatest emphasis put on reading and writing.
The daycare has a maximum capacity of 12 kids and the program is individualized to the needs of each child with monthly assessments of their development. There’s no television at Maple Grove Estates Childcare and weather-permitting, children get two hours of daily outdoor activity in the spacious fenced-in grassy backyard. The lead teacher, is a native Amharic speaker and upon request from the parents can use it with the children.

About the Owner

The lead teacher and owner of Maple Grove Estates Childcare, has a Child Development Associates and 18 years of child care experience. She has raised 6 of her own grown children and has 10 grandchildren. This provider is CPR, First Aid and M.A.T. certified and is able to administer prescription medication.

Safety

Maple Grove Estates Childcare serves military families among others and all staff undergoes a background check every year. Toys are washed twice a day and any injuries (bumps and scrapes) are reported to parents with an immediate phone call.

As new parents it was important to find a provider that would give us the reassurance our son would be safe, happy and healthy. The provider treated our son like he was one of their own.
