The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) offers highly competitive salaries designed to reward education, experience and excellent performance. The OCC salary structure
provides pay ranges for jobs with comparable responsibilities.

Unlike most civilian federal agencies, the OCC does not follow the General Schedule (GS) Pay Scale. The General Schedule has 15 grades—GS-1 to GS-15—and the Senior Executive Service (SES). The OCC’s Compensation Program, the NB Pay Plan, consists of nine pay
bands, NB-I through NB-IX (see Base Salary Structure table below). These pay bands cover positions from the entry-level to the senior executive. Employee compensation is based on the
duties and responsibilities of the position, employee performance and expertise, and the increased contributions employees bring to their positions as they develop and apply broader
skills.

Employees assigned to designated locations are eligible to receive locality pay differentials in addition to their base pay. Use the Pay Band/City Salary Calculator below to

Perhaps your dog needs a daycare center, but it or she is still intact (not spayed or neutered). You’re probably finding a lot of centers that require dogs to be fixed.

Bark Avenue offers a daycare program for intact dogs or dogs who do not necessarily enjoy socializing with so many other dogs. The Dayboard program allows these dogs to spend an enjoyable time away from home in their personal space, away from the hustle and bustle.

All other dogs are separated into playgroups based on breed size. Bark Avenue ensures a comfortable, secure, and happy environment. Dogs get to romp in four indoor and four outdoor play yards.

Owners get to watch their dogs play on the live webcams. Dogs are under constant supervision for everyone’s safety. Bark Avenue asks you to book reservations ahead of time.

You need to give 24 hours’ notice of a cancelation. A half-day of daycare costs $20. A full day costs $26. 5, 10, and 20-day packages are available. Again, the Dayboard program costs $15 per day.

Description

To the round-the-clock kindergarten Happy childhood is waiting for children and parents! This is a pleasant and warm space where, in a small group, a team of educators and teachers organizes life for the benefit and fun of children. An individual approach allows you to devote more time to them and offer more interesting games. Here they can meet some wishes of moms and dads. And besides, enrolling in a private kindergarten is easier.

For parents with varying levels of employment, the 24-hour kindergarten Happy Childhood offers several options: full-time, short-stay and weekend groups. This institution has groups for children 1-3, 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6 years old. And in each specific case, a special approach to the younger generation is needed. For example, mothers of children from one to three years old may need to return to work. Or you want to pay attention to your interests. For these reasons, nursery groups function. There, the child learns to interact with the same children, plays educational games and expands the boundaries of the world, and adults can calmly do their own thing.

At the request of children, classes are held here in mathematics, logic, modeling, drawing, acting, speech development, English, introduction to the world around us, musical education, dance, choreography, general physical training. So, for example, the ability to repeat a heard melody or feel the rhythm is not only a natural talent. They can be formed in a child in the lessons of musical education. Active listening teaches correct perception, and singing is the best assistant for voice training.

The company is located at the address: Moscow region, Balashikha, Trubetskaya street, 56A. You can ask questions of interest by phone or on the website. The doors of the organization are open Mon-Fri: 07:00 – 21:00; Sat: 08:00 – 19:00.

what are there and how to choose your own

Profile classes have long been entrenched in the school education system. This gives students the opportunity to study their favorite subject in more depth or prepare hard for entering a university. What profile classes are in schools and how to choose your own, we understand the article.

What are the profiles

By “profile” we mean a deeper study of certain subjects. That is, they allocate more hours. While the number of lessons in “non-core” subjects is reduced to a minimum. Only in order to master the necessary program.

The 2020 federal state educational standard specifies 4 main profiles, namely:

  1. natural and mathematical sciences;
  2. humanities;
  3. technology;
  4. socio-economic sciences.

In addition, there is also a fifth profile – general education. It is intended for those children who have not chosen any of the narrow directions.

The Federal State Educational Standard provides that the program of each profile should include not only Russian and foreign languages, literature, mathematics, social and natural sciences. But also physical education and life safety. But to what extent and which subjects to include in the curriculum is up to the school to decide. So, on the basis of the list of the Federal State Educational Standards, the school forms narrower specialized classes, namely:

Profile Items
Physics and Mathematics Physics, mathematics
Information Technology Computer science, mathematics, physics
Chemical-biological Biology, chemistry
Linguistic Russian language, literature, foreign language
Philological Russian language, literature
Humanitarian Russian language, literature, history, social studies
Socio-economic Social studies, geography

But there are other profiles. For example, engineering, culturological, pedagogical, legal, artistic and aesthetic, and even theatrical.

What to focus on when choosing a profile

OGE 9 results0006

The profile classes, of course, recruit students who have already shown good results in the subject. If in the certificate for the 9th grade the child has a triple in mathematics, he will most likely not be taken to the physical and mathematical profile.

Abilities and inclinations

If a child has pronounced abilities or inclinations, they will be helped to develop them in a profile class. For example, he is poorly versed in programming, but is fond of biology. Or “floats” in literature, but is strong in mathematics. In the profile class, you don’t have to waste time on subjects that are not given very well.

USE subjects

Choose a profile class, firstly, focusing on the subjects that the child is going to take. As a rule, preparation for the exam and the analysis of complex tasks in such classes is given more time. This means that it will be much easier to get high scores in exams.

0006

Make sure the profile fits the child

For example, a child loves biology but is not very good at chemistry. In this case, the biological and chemical direction may not suit him. There is a risk that a teenager will fall behind classmates, start getting bad grades, and only lose motivation. In this case, it is better to choose a general education profile, and additionally study biology on your own or with a tutor.

Explore all options

Suppose a child wants to go to a specialized class to study literature in depth. And in your school there is only a humanitarian profile, where a history with social studies is attached to it. In this case, you can, for example, try to look for schools with a narrow philological profile. And vice versa, if a teenager does not decide in any way whether to enter a philologist or historian, a profile with a wider range of humanitarian subjects will suit him. There are even rarer specialized classes in schools. For example, in journalism, law, art. Perhaps the child needs one of them.

Estimate the upcoming workload

In profile classes, of course, they assign more homework and make higher demands on students. Not every child can easily withstand such educational and psychological stress. And if a student needs all the strength to “correspond” to the level of the profile, he can come to the exam physically and mentally exhausted. In this case, a regular class and additional classes with a tutor in the right subjects are more suitable.

8 problems of fifth grade: what parents and teachers of future five-graders should remember High school is also a huge stress for a child.

This is a way out of the comfort zone, in which there was one teacher, one class, understandable and familiar subjects and grades. Our blogger, teacher Anastasia Duryagina talks about the difficulties that fifth graders face and how to avoid them.

I’ll tell you one teacher’s secret: every year at the first summer meeting, elementary school teachers talk about the continuity of the transition of fourth graders to secondary school. For us, teachers, a fourth-grader is quite an independent adult child. But high school teachers look at them like a flock of frightened sparrows that rush in a panic along the long school corridors, knocking over careless teachers and students, trying to find the right room.

Of course, the transition to the fifth grade is not easy for any child. For four years he had one teacher who taught almost all the subjects herself, and therefore she knew that Petya and Kolya had a headache in the first lesson, so it’s better not to call them to the blackboard in the second lesson. And the child is used to it.

Fifth grade is a lot of different teachers. Everyone has their own character, their own requirements, their own office (and you also need to find it), and their first name and patronymic too (and they also need to be learned!).

The program of the fifth grade is built very humanely: a lot of time is devoted to repeating what was passed in elementary school. But exactly passed! (that is, learned and, even if partially forgotten, during the holidays).

If your child has not received solid knowledge in elementary school, then advice is to study in the summer before the 5th grade without fail. Do not dream that in the lessons, where there are 25-30 people in classes, for the repetition course in the fifth grade, the child will learn what he could not understand in four years.

Problems that I highlight as a teacher with 14 years of experience:

1. Most children come to fifth grade not independent . Parents no longer follow the lessons, or rather, do homework and so on. And the child is not used to the fact that he is not controlled and all responsibility now lies with him.

2. Many children ask for grades . In the beginning, they do this all the time and their kind teacher-mother will always go to meet the student. And in the fifth grade, bad grades immediately, and even in the diary! In the fifth grade, begging for grades is unacceptable. Therefore, I appeal to teachers of the initial level: do not allow such situations in your work.

3. The child does not read well . Many still come after elementary school with poor reading skills. It is a failure when a child in the fifth grade reads puk-puk, stammering because he was asked to read an excerpt from a paragraph. Here the work of the teacher and parents should be visible. I am deeply convinced that three people are involved in the educational process: the student-teacher and the parent. Therefore, reading remains an important aspect of learning.

4. Poor handwriting . This is a different story. Many people can’t write. I’m not talking about the beauty of the printed letter, but about clear handwriting, readable. Prescriptions will help correct, improve the situation, but no one pays attention to this, and neither does the child.

5. Low self-esteem . Many girls and boys come already with complexes from elementary school. If for a junior schoolchild (fourth grade) the leading activity is educational, then in the early teens (fifth grade), communication becomes the leading activity for schoolchildren.

A teenager, in comparison with a junior schoolchild, is more sensitive to the opinion of the team. If a younger student is satisfied with the teacher’s praise, then a teenager is more affected by public assessment. I believe that there is always something to praise a student for, that the teacher’s opinion is authoritative for him all four years of elementary school. All this lays the foundation of psychological communication.

When children are in the fifth grade, the motives that prompted them to study in the lower grades (interest in staying at school, the first results of labor) have already been satisfied, and new ones have not yet formed. Entries in notebooks and diaries become sloppy: diligence and accuracy disappear somewhere. The child, who could not be torn away from the book, now does not want to pick it up. Here comes one: to praise, cheer and motivate!

6. Increased pace of work in the fifth grade : Children who cannot write quickly fall behind. No one is expected here, you have to be on time. It is better to start training in the summer in rewriting the text for speed, reading for speed.

7. When moving to the fifth grade, the teacher’s individual approach to each student is violated . There is a kind of depersonalization of a schoolboy. There are only fifth graders in general. Each subject has a large workload and many students. He is simply not able to remember all the features of all students. Therefore, the child gets the impression that none of the teachers needs him. But it also happens that students feel it already in elementary school. It is important to organize an open conversation between parents, teacher and child. You may need a preventive conversation with a psychologist.

8. Children cannot work with text . They cannot find the main idea of what they read. It is the job of an elementary school teacher to teach children this form of work, but many children come to the fifth grade without this skill. Hence the small vocabulary and the inability to describe, retell.

I really want all teachers to remember that children experience stress when they move to secondary school: it is very difficult for them. Any word spoken sharply can lay a complex in a child for life. You need to be careful if you are the class teacher of newly minted five-graders. After all, studying at school is not hard labor, not a camp, but a place where it is interesting, informative, where you can find friends, even in the face of a teacher.

As a mother when I think about enrolling my children to a learning facility my biggest concern is if I am able to trust the personnel that are going to take care of them. Right from the start as soon as I walked in I was greeted in a very respectful and attentive manner. As I expressed my concerns to the staff in regards to the care of my children, they all made me aware of their guidelines and how my children will be taken care of. Any questions I had in regards to their care they were able to answer and ensure that my children will be safe and in case of any emergency I will be contacted immediately. As I received the tour for the classes my children would attend I was extremely pleased with the professionalism of the teachers as well as how responsible they were. Even when I had my questions the teachers were able to answer them and ensure the safety of each child. I can say that after this and enrolling my children with this specific Kids R Kids, I am not at all regretful. I have had an amazing experience! Thank you for ensuring the well being of all of the children here and for being so professional from the start. Starting with the front desk staff to the wonderful teachers, thank you!

The staff here are warm and love the children. I feel much better leaving my kids here knowing that the owners and staff are dedicated enough to remember details about my family and my child that give me a feeling of security when they are away from me.

Both of my sons have been at Kids R Kids for years. My youngest started at 8 weeks. My family’s experience there has been phenomenal! My oldest son was seeing a speech therapist before he started. Within two months of being there, he was able to stop speech therapy. No school is perfect (as we found out from our oldest son’s first school), but this Kids R Kids comes close. The entire staff is always friendly from Ms. Kathy and the other ladies at the front desk to the bus driver. Owners are at the school daily which is plus. We can tell they genuinely care about our kids. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for QUALITY care for their kids.

Review of vacancies on VC, or jokes of our town – Offtop on vc.

    ru

    Good day, ladies and gentlemen.

    908
    views

I have prepared for you a short review of the insanity that I encountered in the “Jobs” section

If you are an HR, startup, do not tolerate any criticism, suffer from an inflated CSF, or just your feelings were hurt by this opus, you don’t need to shoot the author with a minus gun, just go down in the comments.

This material is aimed primarily at showing the applicant all the nonsense that he has to see in vacancies.

    Let’s go read!

The first on the list today, but not in terms of stubbornness, we will have the company Rosstrakh.

In case they demolish or change the description, I’m attaching a screenshot.

I have a question – people, do you know the current salary range for such a vacancy, with such requirements? Ok, let’s go to hh.

We open the description of vacancies, compare duties and requirements. There are fewer requirements for hh, the salary is higher. By the way, the city is the same – Novosibirsk.

No, but why, it turns out that on vc you can find a fool who will agree to work for an amount three times less than the market? Or there is a person in Rosstrakh who decided “They get a lot for poking the keys, 60k and that’s it.” Well, okay, let the seeker find it, look further:)

The rest of their vacancies do not differ much in adequacy, but you should not focus on them either – there are more interesting specimens.

The second in line, but already a little more stoned – meet!

Who did not understand, here are the screenshots

Just a phenomenal mixture of Russian and English.

What was that? HR is a foreigner, and can’t use Google Translate or Russian? Neither shame nor guard? Want to weed out everyone who can speak English? A performance of the author’s brain? The desire to throw a show-off “But I can speak English, be-be-be”?!

Here I am, for example, a Russian person. I am on a Russian site. I read vacancies of Russian-speaking employers. And then there’s this hat. What is it, where is it? If you have any guesses what it was, write in the comments, I’m interested.

I will modestly keep silent about the salary by agreement, the absence of other materials of the author, and his general turbidity.

And, finally, the third laureate of the Employer of the Day award with a lead in the nomination “Pie-curd mass”

    Meet the vacancy from OneSoil

    Well, let’s figure it out.

Remote. Well, ok, what’s wrong with that?

Salary by agreement. Again, “My dear man, you contact us, and if we see a sucker in you, we will offer less.” Well, what is this nonsense?

Smiling people in the photo. Not bad. But the content of the vacancy can cause a rupture of the anus in a mere mortal.

Experience with international markets. What is this? Where is it? With what markets? Do you need an iPhone seller from ebay in Poland, or a targetologist selling information gypsy courses to Armenians?

Good understanding of trends in different markets. What trends, what markets?! I now know that video cards have now risen in price a lot, and so what? You formulate, guys, what you want!

Work experience 3+ years. Where do you want to find this? Do you really think that someone will leave a good place where he has been sitting for three years and come running to you?

As a child, my granny made me dig a garden a couple of times, and I also know how to transfer money to Sberbank online. I suit you, right?

“Set marketing goals and objectives.” But can the goals and objectives of this be different from the standard ones – to sell goods to the consumer? Or, do you have your own vision of beauty? Can the goal be to solve the problems of migration of the long-eared owl, or to optimize the taxation of the Congo? Who wrote it?

“Influence the development of the company as a whole.” How do you see it for yourself? I personally can’t imagine. Who understands, write in the comments. I don’t know what else can influence, except for the effective performance of labor duties.

Cases of zoosadism among children and adolescents are often associated with the manifestation of displaced aggression accumulated due to bullying at school or problems in the family. Ivan Khvatov, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Head of the Center for Biopsychological Research of the Moscow Institute of Psychoanalysis, Ivan Khvatov, told Gazeta.ru , commenting on the growing trend in Telegram among teenagers devoted to animal abuse.

“Most likely, a child who bullies animals is bullied and bullied by peers or adults, whether at school or at home. The child understands that he cannot answer the offender, harbors resentment and restrains anger, and then splashes everything on another living being. Which, like the child himself, cannot fight back the tormentor, ”Khvatov said.

According to him, in such cases it is fundamentally important for the child that the object of influence be alive and give feedback. The tormentor needs to observe the suffering of his victim. The notorious venting of aggression on a pillow or soft toy will not work in this case.

The expert also added that, having noticed a child for the systematic torture of animals, parents should contact a specialist: a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist.

At Safari Kid, we focus on whole-child development through a combination of programs that develop and enhance social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We welcome our toddlers, our “Safari Cubs,” with a range of engaging activities, developmentally appropriate educational materials and books, and toddler-sized furniture and toys made of natural materials. Research shows toddlers need to feel safe and comfortable but also engaged and challenged. Our Cubs enjoy activities such as yoga and mindfulness, parachute story time, STREAM mini-exploration projects, art lab, music & movement, and so much more. Our modern and safe environment will feel as welcoming as our warm, nurturing staff. Your toddler will receive encouragement and positive reinforcement every step of the way.

Get a glimpse of the activities covered in our toddler program!

At Safari Kid, our proprietorial preschool curriculum and research-based teaching methods will help your child meet developmental milestones, prepare for kindergarten, and, most importantly, foster a love of learning. By harnessing the benefits of both play and hands-on learning, our preschool programs represent a balance of learning domains—including investigative STREAM explorations, yoga and mindfulness, music and movement, conversational foreign language acquisition, art, story explorations, and so much more. Our enriching and engaging curriculum allows children to learn through purposeful, planned learning, which feels like play and encourages healthy interaction with other children.

At Safari Kid, our kindergarten students are encouraged to become partners in their own learning with our use of the Socratic Method of teaching. Meeting the Common Core standards is just a part of what our students will accomplish. Through a tailored method of careful questioning based on learning objectives to be met, a rich yet natural discussion that promotes critical thinking and problem-solving will ensue daily among the teacher and classmates.

A loving and nurturing environment in which all members of the team respect one another is created, so that trust is built, and students feel comfortable sharing freely. During these powerful discussions, engagement is high, and learning becomes an active sport, in which reasoning, and logic are continuously utilized and encouraged.

Through this Socratic process, the children begin to feel ownership of their learning. However, the real trophy in this sport of learning is their gains in confidence knowing their voice and their ideas are important. They are on their way to being leaders, entrepreneurs, and trailblazers of the future. Our students form a positive relationship with the idea of education. They realize the attainment of knowledge is a social sport that can be enjoyable when the right set of coaches are there to guide them through it and cheer them on!

After a tough day at work, Safari Kid parents feel comforted knowing their child has not only successfully completed their homework but also enjoyed learning something new! Safari Kid offers a comprehensive After School Program. We offer structured learning and tutoring coupled with a diverse choice of extracurricular activities. Our Safari Kid After School Program offers daily help with schoolwork but also provides supplemental mathematics and English Language Arts lessons that align directly with Common Core Standards. While academic learning is our primary goal, we also ignite interest beyond the core subjects through exciting enrichment activities that promote a love for new learning. Depending on demand, centers offer such enrichment classes as creative writing, public speaking, chess, robotics, visual arts, and performing arts. Students participating in Safari Kid’s After School Program consistently test above grade level, and many earn awards for academic achievement. We’re so proud of our Safari Kids and excited to be a part of their amazing growth!

My daughter is been attending safari kids from last January. Before deciding upon safari I did lot of research, asked friends n neighbors for inputs on different nearby schools. Personally speaking my daughter loves going to safari and as a parent I feel good to see my kids growth chart in last one year academically. The staff is really good and takes keen interest in every child. They makes them feel comfortable and homely and as a parent that’s what we look for.. So in all, satisfied with the school for my girl..🙂

Both my daughter and son have been going to Safari Kid after school program for the last 2 years. Safari Kid is like a 2nd home for them. Knowing that my kids are in Safari Kid, let’s me concentrate on my work. I know my kids get picked up on time from school, taken to the center safely and would be in a safe environment with teachers who really care about children.
They have good after school activities as well. They hved a good mixture of academic and non-academic activities. I would recommend Safari Kid to other parents too. Thank you Team Safari Kid Mission for being there for us!

The quality of care, instruction, and dedication to the children are exceptional!
The director has always shown the dedication to ensuring the program runs successfully, kids and parents receive a high-quality experience. The teachers share the daily report with parents about what kid did in full day. My daughter is going to “Safari Kid” for more than a year and I have seen a great improvement in her reading, writing and getting along with other kids.
The staff pays personal attention to each and every child in the school to help them grow and learn. I would recommend the school; there is nothing like seeing a smiling staff when parents drop and pick up our kids.

    Visual Arts

Our students will be encouraged to express themselves creativity through hands-on experiences in which all senses will be engaged. The art that students create will often be an extension of the learning in other core disciplines, which will help them to process and internalize the learning in a meaningful way.

    Critical Thinking

At Safari Kid we want our students to be able to rationalize with each other over a complex topic or idea and break it down into smaller parts that they can understand. Then they can analyze it in a way that helps them to solve the problem. This sort of mulling over a topic or problem is the key to having success in future academic and career adventures. It is the way society is able to progress and come up with solutions to everyday problems. Our critical thinking courses are designed with these goals in mind.

    Public Speaking

Students who can express their ideas clearly and confidently are guaranteed to be more successful throughout their academic careers. By beginning to learn the communication skills associated with speaking well in public, our Safari Kid first graders will be well-prepared for their future. Having enough self-confidence to speak up in a group setting is a door-opener to endless opportunities.

    Theater

Safari Kid understands that the benefits of drama in the elementary curriculum have been researched and cited in various studies. First graders will be building their self-confidence. It is often easier to be bold while playing a character. And this can in turn ignite a confidence within. Taking risks and performing in front of others, even if it is just reading lines aloud, offers a trust building experience for students, which in turn also builds their self-esteem. Students in our drama course are required to communicate with one another, collaborate on ideas, and be creative. These are skills that will transfer over to all areas of our students’ academic lives. They will enjoy their time transforming into characters, while they unknowingly are also practicing important reading skills such as fluency and reading comprehension. Our drama course also teaches empathy. For how better to empathize, than to actually jump into the shoes of someone else?

    Engineering

Our Safari Kid first graders will continue discovering the excitement of planning and building through our innovative engineering curriculum. Hands-on activities will challenge our students to think spatially and logically, empowering them to become problem solvers. Perhaps even more importantly, through the trials of engineering, values such as perseverance and determination will be naturally reinforced.

    Computer Readiness

In Safari Kid’s Computer Readiness classes students will learn the basics of computers which will help them to access computers with more confidence. They will also learn to think logically. In today’s world of ever-growing technology, these are important skills to show command over.

    Junior Leader

Research has found that leadership is not necessarily an innate quality. It can be taught; and there is no better time to teach leadership qualities, than when kids are at the start of their academic careers. By teaching our students the characteristics, attitudes, and behaviors of great leaders we are giving them the tools to become leaders themselves. Students in Safari Kid’s 1st Grade Junior Leader class will be engaged in activities that will invite them to build their character and encourage them to flex their leadership muscles. By learning about great leaders from the past we can show them the power for good that having good leadership skills can foster. Through it all, they will begin to see that they too are able to lead with confidence and make a positive change in the world.

    Spanish

At Safari Kid we know that learning fluency in a new language is much easier to achieve when you are exposed to it from a young age. However, this is not the only reason why Spanish is included in the Grade 1 curriculum. There are also cognitive advantages such as increased creativity and problem-solving skills, not to mention the vocabulary and reading benefits. Students who are bilingual in Spanish generally have an easier time with vocabulary due to a connection found with Latin word roots. The connections that can be made to others of LatinX descent can also be rewarding. These are the present benefits but being bilingual will also translate into having greater opportunities for colleges and careers in the future.

Our students will continue to learn the basics of Spanish including phonics and letters, numbers, colors, shapes and more. They will also learn to speak conversational Spanish, so that when they are finished, they should be able to speak simple sentences, but with confidence.

    Social Science

Safari Kid’s Grade 1 Social Science Curriculum will provide insight into the history of our world and shed light on the connection between the past and the present. Students will learn how to read maps and use them to help explore the continents of our world. They will learn about ancient civilizations and the countries that once were. They will learn about various religions and exotic festivals associated with them. And students will follow the lives of various explorers of America. By charting a clear map of our past, our students can forge boldly into the future to assist in creating their own rich history.

    Science

In Safari Kid’s 1st Grade Science Curriculum children will continue to answer their natural questions about the world through observation and experimentation. Students will study the physical sciences, earth sciences, life sciences, and scientific principles of investigation and experimentation. The content will be presented in an engaging and memorable format in which students realize that science is often just about staying alert to what happens or what can happen as a result of some other action and making a note of it. Some of the topics that will be covered are Space Exploration, Plant and Animal Survival, Light Refraction and Sound Travel, Simple Machines, Human Systems.

    Math

Safari Kid’s mathematics curriculum continues to provide a solid understanding of math concepts using engaging methods, hands-on manipulatives, and real-life examples that cleverly illustrate how math is useful in day-to-day life. Each math skill introduced will build upon the previous one taught as we introduce students to new concepts at a pace that ensures mastery. Our goal is to foster a positive attitude for learning math and set the students up for success for years to come. A command over the basics will provide the proper stepping-stones for the next level of mathematical principles.

    Spelling

Research has shown a positive correlation between spelling growth and gains in reading comprehension, vocabulary growth, and writing. For this reason, the Safari Kid Grade 1 Curriculum includes an explicit plan for exemplary spelling development. Every week the children will master ten words through proven methods and have a spelling test on Friday.

    Language Arts

The Safari Kid Language Arts curriculum lays the foundation for comprehending all other disciplines as it acts as a bridge between simple decoding to reading for knowledge. It continues to work on such reading strategies as phonemic and phonetic awareness, blending and segmenting, and the recall of spelling patterns, but also builds comprehension through activities such as read and illustrate, sequencing, and vocabulary building. All of this skill building helps our first-grade students transition from learning to read to reading to learn.

    Visual Arts

Our students will be encouraged to express themselves creativity through hands-on experiences in which all senses will be engaged. The art that students create will often be an extension of the learning in other core disciplines, which will help them to process and internalize the learning in a meaningful way.

    Engineering

Safari Kid Kindergarteners will discover the process of construction through our innovative engineering curriculum. Students will learn to investigate a problem, imagine a solution, and then design, create, and improve it. Our students will begin to see themselves as problem solvers and inherently learn such values as perseverance and determination.

    Public Speaking

Students who can express their ideas clearly and confidently are guaranteed to be more successful throughout their academic careers. By beginning to learn the communication skills associated with speaking well in public, our Safari Kid Kindergarteners will be well-prepared for their future. Having enough self-confidence to speak up in a group setting is a door-opener to endless opportunities.

    Spanish

Safari Kid understands that it is much easier for children to learn fluency in a new language if they start from a young age. It also provides cognitive advantages such as increased creativity and problem-solving skills. Children who are bilingual in Spanish generally have an easier time with vocabulary due to a greater understanding of Latin word roots, thus boosting their reading ability.

The benefits of learning Spanish range from increased reading skills and test scores now, to having greater opportunities for colleges and careers in the future. With an introduction to Spanish, our Kindergarteners are already brightening their future.

    Handwriting

Safari Kid’s Kindergarten curriculum is research-based, and therefore we have studied the positive correlation between perfecting handwriting and overall reading development. When students practice their writing of letters, they are also practicing the way words are formed, the way letters create certain sounds when put together, and the way words are put together to form sentences. So, in addition to having legible writing, they are also reinforcing important reading and writing skills.

    Drama

Safari Kid’s Drama curriculum provides another medium for practicing important Kindergarten reading skills and to have a blast doing it! In addition to the fun of role playing and acting, Safari Kid understands how to seize the opportunity for increasing fluency in reading and increased vocabulary development. The art of acting gives reading purpose and drives natural motivation from wanting to deliver a polished performance.

    Computer Science

In Safari Kid’s Computer Readiness classes students will learn the basics of computers which will help them to access computers with more confidence. They will also learn to think logically. In today’s world of ever-growing technology, these are important skills to show command over.

    Leadership

There is no better time to teach leadership qualities, than when kids are just beginning their academic careers. When we teach children the characteristics, attitudes, and behaviors of great leaders we are giving them the tools to become leaders themselves. We will show them the power for good that having good leadership skills can foster. Through goal setting, responsibility roles, and reflection they will begin to see that they too are able to lead with confidence and make a positive change in the world.

    Social Science

With a clear understanding of the past, our students will better understand the present and take heed into the future. Safari Kid’s Social Science curriculum covers both world history and American history. It presents history as a series of stories about the actions of individuals and groups of people that can be analyzed and evaluated. Students will also learn about geography and utilize maps and globes in a way that will benefit future studies of the world.

    Spelling

Research has shown a positive correlation between spelling growth and gains in reading comprehension, vocabulary growth, and writing. For this reason, the Safari Kid curriculum includes an explicit plan for exemplary spelling development.

    Science

Safari Kid’s Kindergarten Science Curriculum encourages our student’s natural curiosity about the world around them and develops that into actual scientific observations and discoveries. Our kindergarteners will be introduced to the physical sciences, earth sciences, life sciences, and the scientific principles of investigation and experimentation through engaging stories and science books, hands-on experiments, and purposeful projects.

    Language Arts

Students will delve into the craft of writing by analyzing the written word. Stories will be broken down to their simplest parts and studied so that the craft of writing also becomes simplified. Grammar rules will be introduced in a natural progression. Skills such as summarizing and comparing will be mastered in preparation for higher order skills such as inference and the synthesis of information.

    Math

Safari Kid’s mathematics curriculum uses engaging methods such as hands-on manipulatives, and real-life examples that cleverly illustrate how math is useful in day-to-day life. By using a teaching sequence that builds upon itself, we introduce students to new concepts at a pace that ensures mastery and fosters a positive attitude toward learning math. Their command of the basics will provide the proper stepping-stones for the next level of mathematical principles.

    Reading

At Safari Kid, we know that reading is the key to all other learning, so we make it our Kindergarten mission to master this skill. We begin with conquering phonetics and fluency and progress to higher order reading skills such as vocabulary retention and comprehension. Students will be eager to read our high interest fiction and non-fiction reading materials which are designed to educate as well as delight the reader.
