Why Teach Sight Words?
Sight words are frequently used in text and once children learn them, it makes reading easier. They can then focus on decoding more difficult words. Reading fluency and comprehension improves. Additionally, their confidence as a reader increases with every, “I KNOW THAT WORD!!”

children’s words in English
Child. This word in English means child. It can often be found in the list of the most beautiful words. In the same place you will read: sweetheart – cute; butterfly – butterfly; inspiration – inspiration. In Russian, many diminutive words are invented by the children themselves: mommy, toy, yummy. We decided to make a list of “The most kind, touching and cute children’s words in English.”
Many people watch films, cartoons for children in English, and there such words are found in large numbers. Perhaps you have acquaintances or friends with children abroad – here you will definitely need a short study of English from the world of children. nine0003
We are used to the fact that any English text consists of standard words on various topics, from which English learning begins. In a kindergarten, for example, they can study the language with children, but they also do not always use children’s words in English. Now we will tell you what words are most common among children of native speakers. Diminutive children’s words in English are created using suffixes: -y / -ie. For example: Dog doggy – doggy. nine0011 Doll dolly – doll. horse horsie – a horse.
Tune in the right way, remember your childhood and let’s dive into the world of children’s English together! Let’s start learning with a vocabulary for kids. Binky Yummy Uppy Tiny-winy Tag Roly-poly Go beddy-byes
Baby’s first word – often about parents. When the baby says “mom” or “dad” – the soul rejoices, and you just blur in a smile. Over time, the baby learns to talk and affectionately calls you “mommy” and “daddy.” nine0011 Such children’s words in English will sound no less cute 🙂 Mommy ─ mommy; mommy. Daddy daddy. Children often say “granny”. In English, it will sound like “nanny”.
Since only a few words can be made into diminutives in English, native speakers, for the most part, add the words “little”, “sweet”, “dear” to soften the word. Let’s take, for example, the space that surrounds a small child and the place of his first games. The very word “house” for a kid learning English will sound like for an adult – “house”, however, if you add “little”, a serious adult house will turn into a house or even a little house familiar to a Russian-speaking child. The same thing happens with the room – in English it will sound like “little room”. But a small city a kid can translate and how “little town”, and as “townlet”.
There are also more complex suffixes that add emotional coloring not only to children’s English, but also to ordinary speech. The already mentioned townlet is just one of many examples. Let’s look at them in a table.

-ule

Children use diminutive suffixes not only to name small animals and their cubs, but also for affectionate designations of already adult animals and birds. Here’s what it looks like: owlet – owlet dovelet – dove leveret – hare piglet – pig
In fact, with the right suffixes, almost any word can be made cute and affectionate. In Russian, “dress” becomes a soft synonym for the word “dress”, in English “dress” is formed from “dress”; a suit can be called a “suit”, or you can call it a “suitie” – the logic here is quite simple. Dictionaries do not abound with examples of such derivatives, but that’s what fantasy is for, to compose words yourself! 😉 Also in English there are seemingly very childish words that adults use quite often. You must have heard them in songs or movies. Snookums ─ cute Honeybunch ─ cute; darling Sweetie pie (US version) Babykins Kiddy, childie, moppet
In the same way, children’s English brought its ideas to abbreviations. To tell the truth, everything here is also quite concise. For example, in Russian on behalf of “Olga” you can create many affectionate forms: Olenka, Olechka, Olya, Olyusya. There can be one form in English using the same suffixes. nine0011 John ─ Johnny Barbara ─ Barbie Emily ─ Emy Kathryn ─ Katie Sandra ─ Sandy Victoria ─ Vicky
See how simple it is? Learn children’s words in English with your childie 🙂 And in our blog you will find not only words, but also useful materials for self-study of English.
Everything will be English with Allright!

Here you will find cards for the main pairs of opposite words in English. nine0003
Knowing such pairs of words allows the child to increase his active vocabulary and help build new sentences. One of the easiest ways to remember such pairs of opposites in English is cards with specially selected pictures. And if these pictures are so funny, then learning words becomes even fun.
short – tall, clean – dirty, empty – full, same – different
light – heavy, short – long, white – black, front – back
Each A4 page has 4 cards. It turns out only 16 cards with the main pairs of opposites, which you can start learning with your child in the first year of study. These cards can be downloaded as a single pdf file and used in your lessons with children in the future here.
Vocabulary for these cards, including transcription and translation:
short /ʃɔːt/ — low tall /tɔːl/ — high Clean /Kliːn /- Pure DIRTY /ˈDɜːTI /- Dirty EMPTY /ˈEMPTI /- empty Full 5
ET ˈDɪfrənt/- different Light /Laɪt/- Light Heavy /ˈhevi/- heavy Short /ʃɔːT/- short
9000 White /- black /blæk/- black Front /Frʌnt /- Front part BACK /Bæk /- the rear part
MORE /Mɔː (R) /- more than Less /Les /- less than BIG /Bɪɡ /———————– Large Small /SMɔːl /- small Dry /Draɪ /- dry Wet /Wet /- wet Slow /Sləʊ /- Slow 9000 FAST /FɑːST /- fast 9000 /hɑːd/ — hard soft /sɒft/ — soft LOW /Ləʊ/- Low 9000 HIGH /Haɪ/- high Cold /KəʊLD/- cold /hɒt/- hot Weak /Wiːk/- weak 9000 STRONG strɒŋ/- strong
Game №1. The simplest game that can be offered on this topic is a game of opposites, of course )) The teacher calls the word, the children must name the antonym for this word.
Game #2. With older children: the teacher “shows” the word with movements and facial expressions, and the children must not only guess and name this word, but also immediately pick up an antonym for it. nine0003
Game #3. 2-3 people participate in the game. For this game, you will need to print another copy of the cards, and cut out pairs of words that are opposite in meaning (for example: a separate card “ cold “, a separate card “ hot “). The teacher keeps one word from each pair of antonyms for himself, mixes the rest of the cards and distributes them to the students. The teacher/facilitator takes one of his cards, says the word, and shows the picture to the participants in the game. The player who believes that this card fits one of his cards says the word that is opposite in meaning to what the presenter read.

Toys for babies up to a year with their own hands | Games for children, didactic materials for borrowing from a child’s garden, boxes and rosemary
29 August, 2015
Most recently “Grow smart!” was invited to hold a master class at the Art Picnic of Slava Frolova. We prepared responsibly and the master class was a success! Thanks to everyone who came to visit us! However, most of our readers live very far from Kyiv, so we decided to create for you this photo review of educational toys that you can make yourself.
Why do babies need homemade toys?
First of all, it’s very sincere and great when a mother gives the baby the result of her efforts.
Secondly, many of the toys that babies need are simply not available in stores. For example, only mom can make sensory boxes 🙂 Just imagine how much good for little fingers in simple cereals, water, shreds and so on!
Thirdly, babies under 1. 5 years old very quickly lose their attention to new toys. They study them, play, consolidate the information received and go in search of new knowledge. How often are loving parents disappointed who bought an expensive super-educational toy, and the child played with it for a week and left it unattended. This happens not because the toy is bad, but because the child simply learned everything he wanted about it.
So let’s get started!
1. Slingobus. They are known to many mothers. This is an irreplaceable thing that will always help out in line or where there were no children’s toys. It will also help the baby when teething. Someone buys such beads, and someone knits with their own hands. Maybe, it turns out, not too professionally, but with a soul.
I knitted my baby slings myself. I took cotton threads (which the seller in the store advised), beads were from different toys, etc.
Wooden beads are now sold in various sewing accessories stores, as well as in needlework shops. They are perfect for small teeth.
Important rules:
The beads must be large so that the baby cannot swallow them.
The thread should be as dense as possible so that it does not break or deteriorate from children’s teeth and saliva.
Beads must be unpainted. Often, the paint on wooden beads falls off easily, which means that it will enter the child’s body.
Large beads should be strung on a tight thread, then make a tight knot and make sure that it does not untie. Great teether ready to go!
3. Tactile sock track. Almost any kid will like this toy, because it is so pleasant to the touch!
To make it, you will need: a clean long sock, thick thread, fillers (buckwheat, rice, peas, beans, pasta, acorns, etc.), eye buttons.
Fill the bottom of the sock with the first filler, tie the resulting ball with a thread, add the second filler, and so on. At the end, fasten the thread well. Sew on button eyes and play!
4. Hand toy made from a sock. Work – 5 minutes, delight – the sea! You ask: “What is it about a sock with eyes?” Put such a sock on your hand and tell your baby: “Hello!”, you will see what happens 🙂
You can make a variety of faces for such a toy. But the most simple one is also suitable: button eyes and a forelock.
5. Snake with beads, ribbons and buttons. This character lived in our stroller for a while. It was amusing for children to touch various hanging and protruding things. For something you can always grab, pull, touch, pull.
This miracle was made from an old damaged textile bed mobile. But you can sew from a regular piece of fabric. To do this, cut out a narrow and long flap, fold it in half in length so that it becomes even narrower and sew on the side. Turn this tube right side out and stuff with wheat or peas, sew up the bottom. Wrap the top so that the snake has a sharp nose and sew it. And then decorate the snake with different things and do not forget about the button eyes!
6. Balls and bagels – the eternal love of kids. They can be rolled on the floor, gnawed, thrown, kneaded in the handles, pushed into different places, and so on. These small items will especially interest the baby who is learning to crawl and the little one sitting in the sling. To make the wool ball safe for children, it can be washed in hot water and soap. From this, it falls off and for sure not a single thread will leave the ball and fall into a small mouth.
A yellow shaggy bagel is easy to make from a wooden ring from the eaves and fleece ribbons. Each ribbon just needs to be tied into a double knot on the ring.
7. Ring with ribbons. This brightly colored waver is not a simple item. She teaches the baby to follow a fast moving object. Wavy colored ribbons catch the eye of masiks. Give such a ring in the hands of the baby and he will happily watch the movement of the ribbons. For such fun, a plastic or wooden ring, ribbons and lace about 40 cm long are useful. Each ribbon must be firmly and securely tied into a double knot.
8. Sensory pouches. They enable the baby to get a new tactile experience, because how many bags, so many different sensations in the fingers. But you can still walk on them with your feet, do a massage and throw yourself. If you sew the bags in pairs, you get a sensory lotto: find the bags that are the same to the touch. On our blog there is a detailed master class on sewing sensory pouches. By the way, it is not necessary to sew numbers on the bags.
9. Sensory balloons. In fact, this is the same as the sensory bags, but many times easier and faster. In addition, you can safely pour flour or salt into such bags.
Tips:
Choose the best quality balloons. They will last longer.
Do not put spicy pasta or other small items with sharp parts into bags.
Dip 1-2 beans in the flour. It will be very pleasant to look for them with your fingers.
Do not be afraid that this is a short-lived toy. Of course, anything can happen, but such bags can serve for more than one year, even in a children’s center.
10. Small rattles. Kids of all ages love these wonderful educational toys. And the more such tiny rumblers, the better, because it means that there are more different sounds.
They are convenient because they fit in a small pen.
They look nice, so you want to play with them.
Different sounds make babies happy and want to know what the next rattle sounds like.
Homemade rattles make an excellent sound lotto: pick up a rattle of the same sound.
11. Filled bottles. There are many variants of games with similar bottles. They can be used for both the smallest children and preschoolers. Toddlers who are learning to crawl can use this bottle to push it, watch it roll, crawl towards it, and push it again.
Lava lamp bottle. Pour 1/3 vegetable oil and 2/3 food coloring water into a clean bottle. Close the bottle with a cap, after lubricating the neck with superglue.
Finding bottle. Fill the bottle with about half a bottle of rice and various small figurines, beads, pebbles, buttons. Shake to hide small objects in rice. Add some more rice if necessary. There must be an empty space at the top. Close the bottle with a cap, after lubricating the neck with superglue. And now you can give your child tasks depending on his age. For example, find a pink elephant, or find the letter A. To complete the task, the bottle can be shaken, twisted, turned over until the desired object appears in the field of view. You can read more about search games here.
Sea bottle. For this simple toy you will need: water, shells and sea pebbles and glitter. Pour 1/3 of the bottle of pebbles, shells and sequins into the bottom, add water to the very top of the bottle. Close the bottle with a cap, after lubricating the neck with superglue.
12. Jar with filling. The principle is the same as for bottles, only the jar is smaller, it is convenient to hold it in your hands. Inside: water + glitter. Instead of sequins, you can use any little things. I know that such jars are also made with glycerin, but we have not tried it yet, and when we try, we will definitely show what happened.
13. Patchwork ball. I also wrote about him in great detail. This is a wonderful helper for a baby in crawling. It is not difficult to sew such a ball, but it takes a long time.
14. Perforated jars. This is a mega-useful game, because it trains fingers, ingenuity, perseverance. In addition, many children like to push all sorts of little things into narrow holes. Classics of the genre: ice cream bucket + donut pom. Holes can be made with scissors, or you can burn them out with a soldering iron (this is what our dad usually does 🙂
In addition to pom-poms, you can use pasta, buttons, small toys, acorns, stones, nuts, beans, coins and even toothpicks.
15. Sensor boxes. I think that they are simply necessary for every child, because it is so important to swarm in different cereals, scatter, invent a game from the simplest objects, touch all these little things with your fingers. And it’s also great that such boxes can be made on different topics (for example, our winter sensory box) and for children of different ages (the first sensory box). You can read a detailed review of sensory boxes here. In the meantime, I’ll tell you what is in our sensory box: pasta-shells as the main filler, a piece of bark, cones of different sizes and shapes, acorns, nuts, green beads and figurines of forest animals for playing.
16. Simple string toys. Glorious whip horses live in our house. We bought them, but rummaging through the Internet, I found a master class on creating such horses. It’s quite easy! I wanted to publish the scheme here, but I got so carried away that I already wove my own horse from black woolen threads. Of course, I photographed the process of creating a horse from threads. So soon a detailed master class “Thread Horse” will appear on the blog.
17. Non-sewn fabric toys. I once wrote how to make a traditional motanka doll. And now I’ll tell you how to make a simple octopus. By the way, this glorious octopus is very popular with children up to a year old, because it is convenient to hold it in your hands – you just grab one of the tentacles. You can make it in just half an hour.
For the octopus you will need: fabric (I have fleece, it is very delicate, just perfect for children’s hands, and does not stick around), scissors, threads or rubber bands, buttons, needle, threads.
As you can see, most toys are quite easy to make with your own hands and the process of creating them does not take much time. We will be glad if our review inspires you to be creative.

School food service workers prepare, cook and serve foods as well as handle cleaning and operating a cash register. Food service workers must follow strict recipes and portioning guidelines established by their school district. The menus they prepare must sometimes meet state or federal nutritional guidelines, especially if the school is receiving government grants or other financial assistance. Menus are also planned along with registered dietitians to help meet the nutritional needs of children.
Basic Job Duties
School food service workers perform a variety of duties on a daily basis, and most are the same as for commercial cafeteria workers. They may prepare work areas, restock service stations, prepare and serve food and drinks, answer questions, clean tables and dining areas and take payment for cafeteria items. Most meals served in school cafeterias involve pre-made, buffet-style food that is served by the food service worker.
Food service workers must follow portioning guidelines as well as recipe instructions to ensure the proper nutritional value is served during the meal. In some cases, these workers are responsible for cleaning the kitchen after each meal to health department standards.
Washing dishes, cleaning food preparation surfaces and equipment and sweeping and mopping floors is often part of a school cafeteria worker job description. In many cases, school custodians might be responsible for cleaning floors and taking out trash.
Typical Work Environment
School food service workers may spend a large portion of their work day on their feet. During meal time they must work quickly to feed children while food is still hot. These employees should be able to lift and carry trays of food to be placed in buffet lines or cafeteria lines.
Most school food service staff members work part-time during school hours. Since school is out on the weekends and for holidays, food service workers are off, too. Because they are part-time workers, they can find other part-time food service jobs, such as working at commercial restaurants or for catering companies in the evening.
Training and Education
Food service workers typically learn on the job, especially substitute workers. Learning about kitchen safety, food preparation, food-handling safety, sanitation and customer service is part of the food service worker job description. A formal education for general food service workers is not required, but workers who help with menu planning or create recipes may be required to have formal, culinary training.
Once they are on the job, depending on their responsibilities, food service workers must become familiar with their state health department rules. This can include keeping foods at specific temperatures (both in refrigerators and on serving lines), only preparing foods on approved surfaces, such as stainless steel tables and practicing proper personal hygiene.
Requirements for This Job
Food service workers may not need a formal education, but there are typical requirements a school district wants from its cafeteria workers. A food handler’s permit is almost always necessary when handling food; these can be obtained online or through the local health department. Due to the fact that school workers work directly with children, it is expected that applicants have a clean criminal history and possibly pass a drug test during the application process.

Job descriptions for managers and deputy managers in the field of public catering (cafes, bars, restaurants, canteens) are designed to address issues related to the regulation of labor relations, ensuring an effective personnel management system for cafes, restaurants, canteens and other public catering organizations, regardless of their organizational and legal forms and forms of ownership.
Job descriptions contain a specific list of job responsibilities of heads and deputy heads of public catering organizations, taking into account the peculiarities of labor organization and management, as well as the rights, responsibilities and competence of employees. If necessary, job responsibilities included in the job descriptions of a particular position can be distributed among several performers.
Job descriptions for each position have three main sections: Job Responsibilities, Must Know and Qualification Requirements.
The section “Job Responsibilities” contains a list of the main labor functions that can be fully or partially entrusted to the employee holding this position, taking into account the technological homogeneity and interconnectedness of work, allowing for optimal specialization in employee positions.
The “Must Know” section contains the basic requirements for an employee with regard to special knowledge, as well as knowledge of legislative and other regulatory legal acts, regulations, instructions and other documents, methods and means that an employee must apply in the performance of official duties.
The section “Qualification requirements” defines the level of professional training of an employee required to perform job duties, certified by documents on education, as well as requirements for work experience.
In order to improve the organization and increase the efficiency of the work of employees, it is possible to expand the range of their duties in comparison with those established by the corresponding job description. In these cases, without changing the job title, the employee may be entrusted with the performance of duties stipulated by the job descriptions of other positions, similar in content to work, equal in complexity, the performance of which does not require a different specialty and qualifications.
The official title “senior” is applied on the condition that the employee, along with the performance of the duties stipulated by the position held, manages the executors subordinate to him. The position of “senior” may be established as an exception and in the absence of performers in the direct subordination of the employee, if he is assigned the functions of managing an independent area of work.

Note on Deficiencies
Deficiencies are listed in broad categories and are available online for 36 months. We encourage you to contact your region office for an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or for additional information about this facility’s compliance. Resolved “On Site” means that a violation was resolved during the Licensing Specialist’s inspection.
Severity Levels
High:
These are the most serious violations of child care regulations and could pose a risk to the health and safety of children. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.
Medium:
These are significant violations of child care regulations and could negatively impact the health and safety of children. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.
Low:
These violations are the least likely to impact health and safety, but they still show that a facility is out of compliance with some child care regulations. If you would like an explanation of any of the deficiencies, or would like additional information about this facility’s compliance, please contact your regional office.
Note on Frequency of Inspections
Centers, Group Homes, and Licensed Family Homes::
In 2014, legislation was passed that changed the number of unannounced visits from two per year to one per year in Child Care Centers, Group Child Care Homes, and Licensed Family Child Care Homes. As a result of this new law, you may see a decrease in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for these types of providers. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint, and visits are scheduled with the facility during the re-licensing process, which occurs every two years.
Registered Family Homes:
Most family homes are registered, not licensed. In 2014, legislation was passed that allows Child Care Licensing to make one unannounced visit to these homes each year. As a result of this new law, you may see an increase in the number of deficiencies listed on this website for Registered Family Child Care Homes. Unannounced visits are still made in response to a complaint. Click here for an overview of each facility and the requirements they must meet according to state law.

What to do if a kindergarten or school is quarantined
Instructions for use for parents.
The unstable epidemiological situation in the region dictates its own rules. Every day in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, more than two hundred new cases of coronavirus are detected. Today, general education institutions operate in a peculiar mode – the head of the school or kindergarten makes the decision to go into quarantine. In schools, this is a distance learning format, but in kindergartens, this is an unplanned vacation. Such situations arise everywhere, so you need to be prepared for them.
DISINFECTION IN KINDERGARTEN
It happens that the coronavirus was detected among kindergarten employees. But the teachers and children did not contact them, so the manager decides not to quarantine the groups, but to process the building. Parents are informed that they will not accept children for several days. What should working parents do?
Sick leave is not required in such a situation, since there was no order from Rospotrebnadzor. If the child is healthy, then he must be given a place in another group. You need to go to the head of the educational institution where the baby is studying. Unfortunately, this does not always give a positive result. Then you should contact the hotline at the local education department or our editorial office, we will try to help.
Department of the Federal State Educational Standard for Preschool Education: 263-81-65, 263-81-59, 263-81-75, 263-81-76
Territorial departments:
for Kirovsky and Leninsky districts: 264-57-71
in the Sverdlovsk region: 261-68-13
in the Oktyabrsky district: 218-08-68
in the Soviet district: 220-06-58
for Zheleznodorozhny and Central districts: 221-01-83
TWO-WEEK QUARANTINE
Kindergarteners are regularly sent to a two-week quarantine for various reasons – there are children and teachers who have been in contact with coronavirus patients or are infected. When this happens, the kindergarten must submit a notification to Rospotrebnadzor about the presence of a hearth so that the children can receive an order from Rospotrebnadzor.
According to a 1-LINE correspondent in the Ministry of Health, on the basis of this document, parents of children under 7 years of age have the right to take sick leave until quarantine ends.
In order for a parent to receive a quarantine sick leave, you need to:
clarify with the educational institution whether they have submitted a notification to Rospotrebnadzor and whether there will be an order for self-isolation;
if there is a notification, then call the children’s clinic at the place of residence, inform that your child is in self-isolation and you need a sick leave due to quarantine;
Important: you will receive an order from Rospotrebnadzor a little later. If you are not given a sick leave, relying on the fact that you do not have a prescription on hand, then you need to call your compulsory medical insurance company and the hotline of the Ministry of Health.
Hotline: 8-800-700-00-03
Ministry of Health of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: 8 (391) 222-03-78 (Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 18:00, Friday from 09:00 to 16:45)
Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare: 8-800-500-18-35 (24/7)
With schoolchildren, this situation is much more difficult.
“If your child is older than 7 years old, he feels well, he has no signs of illness and he is not sick with the coronavirus, then he alone will receive the order for self-isolation. A parent cannot legally take sick leave,” – they say in the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.
But then the question arises for the parents of elementary school students – what to do? You won’t go on sick leave, because the child does not need sick care. Not all employers can provide emergency leave or give two weeks off at their own expense so that two weeks of self-isolation can be controlled. Especially confusing is the fact that on the 8-10th day an employee of a medical institution should come and take an analysis for covid, but there is no adult at home.
As a reminder, we recently talked about what to do if suddenly you or your loved ones fall ill with the coronavirus.

In Omsk, parents were forced to clean up mold in a kindergarten
In Omsk, parents were forced to clean mold in a kindergarten
Kindergarten No. 329 was closed due to a leaky roof, and the parents of the kids will clean up the mold in the groups. Spekhova again does not know about the problem.
Parents of kids attending kindergarten No. 329 in Stary Kirovsk again turned to the editorial office of RIA Omsk-Inform. This time, the management of the preschool institution demanded that they remove the mold on their own in the premises of the groups where children study. Omsk residents are perplexed, and the Department of Education does not even know about the problem.
Last Thursday, April 23, we were contacted by a resident of Omsk Alina Akhmetova , who reported that the kindergarten was closed. The woman said that now parents have to take their children to institutions located in different parts of the city. Head of Education Department Ekaterina Spekhova then categorically denied the information about the closure of the kindergarten.
Today Anastasia Bratukhina , a member of the parent committee of institution , spoke about another problem that has fallen on the parents of babies. The woman says that parents are actually forced to make repairs on their own in groups.
– At a meeting of the members of the parent committee, it was decided that the repair of the groups should be carried out at the expense of the parents. Kindergarten manager Larisa Cherepanova didn’t even apply to the Department of Education for funds to be allocated from the budget. When asked why she didn’t, the manager shrugged her shoulders. Currently, all 6 groups are closed, parents take their children to different kindergartens. I have to take my child from Stary Kirovsk to the 66th kindergarten in the area of the Baranova Production Association,” said Anastasia Bratukhina.
According to the Omsk resident, in addition to the fact that the groups need to be renovated, there is not enough bed linen in the kindergarten. However, for these purposes, the head of the department of education “knocked out” money. Roof repairs should last until May 15, and until that time the parents of the kids will have to suffer.
– We were also warned that the kindergarten would not work all August. I don’t understand why it was impossible to make repairs right away, and not close the kindergarten 2 times a year? – complains Anastasia Bratukhina.
It is curious that the head of the department of education, Ekaterina Spekhova, today again categorically denied the fact of the closure of the 329th kindergarten. The official was very surprised when the correspondent of RIA “Omsk-Inform” told her about this fact.
– The garden is fully operational, all 6 groups. According to your publication, which came out last week, the prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation. But I can say for sure that none of the groups is closed, – Ekaterina Spekhova said responsibly.
The official refused to comment on the fact that parents were actually forced to do repairs to the kindergarten, and assured that it would be carried out at the expense of budget money.
Here, Ekaterina Spekhova can be safely reproached for incompetence, since in a telephone conversation with a RIA Omsk-Inform correspondent, the head of the kindergarten, Larisa Cherepanova, confirmed that since last week all 6 groups in the preschool institution have been closed, and the kids attend other kindergartens. However, the Department of Education still does not know about it.
– The kindergarten is closed from April 16 for 30 days. Terms are absolutely legal by court order. The deadline for roof repair is from April 20, but due to weather conditions, it has not yet been started. Children are distributed to other kindergartens. The measure is forced, – said Larisa Cherepanova.
The head of the preschool institution categorically denied the information that money for the repair of the kindergarten would be collected from parents. But she said that they would actively fight the mold that had spread in the building.
– On Friday, the council of the institution was held, at which the parents decided that there was no question of any collection of money. To the extent possible, they will eliminate the mold themselves where possible. Soon I intend to contact the Department of Education with a request to carry out repairs. I don’t know how much it will cost,” Cherepanova said by phone.
The head of the 329th kindergarten urged not to dramatize the situation, noting that a similar situation has developed in many other kindergartens in Omsk.
Working together as a learning community, we will go one step further as

Administration of Mon AMI Montessori Center
Anastasia Kim
Founder and Head of Mon Ami Montessori Center
certificate 18 DVGTU im. VV Kuibysheva, specialty PR-specialist Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. I was looking for non-traditional methods, where the center will not be authoritarian approaches to education, but one in which training, education and development will come from the capabilities and needs of the child himself. Having gone through the path of teaching and raising my daughter from birth according to the Maria Montessori system, I saw how much this method can give a child: independence, organization, the ability to make an informed choice and the ability to be responsible for it, a thirst for knowledge and knowledge of the world around.
“I really want to see a little more happy people in the world. The creation of our center is an opportunity for a child to go this way, gain skills and invaluable experience, as the basis for his entire adult life!”
Kristina Okhotnikova
Manager of Mon Ami Montessori Center
BSPU named after M. Akmulla, choreographic art St. Petersburg School of Yoga, teacher of children’s yoga (3-12)0015
In 2013 she graduated from the Bashkir State Pedagogical University with a degree in Choreographic Art, since then she has managed to work with children of all ages. In 2017, she completed training at the St. Petersburg School of Yoga and received a diploma as a teacher in children’s yoga. I have experience in administration and would like to combine the acquired knowledge in the Mon Ami Montessori Center.

She worked in the power industry for almost 10 years, but after the birth of her son, she discovered Montessori pedagogy. I like to study, learn something new, read books, take many courses in kinesiology and neuropsychology.
I am inspired by working with children and their parents. It’s nice to see the result of your work, to understand what impact an individual training program for each child has on the development of children.

AMI diploma 0-3 A.I. Herzen, faculty of correctional pedagogy
Montessori pedagogy opened up for me after the birth of my daughter. At first I became a Montessori mother, but I did not decide to change my profession right away. And I liked working at school, and I was afraid that more than 10 years of experience in traditional pedagogy would interfere. Then my youngest daughter appeared and I decided from a teacher-leader, a teacher-initiator of education to become an assistant to the child, his assistant on the path of development, and now, having gone through a whole transformation on the AMI course, I work as a Montessori teacher.

In my opinion, it provides everything necessary for children to grow up in harmony and love, to become mature and independent individuals. Working with children is always interesting. They know how to be sincere, live with feelings and the present moment, help us, adults, to become better. Communication with children brings me a lot of joy, I enjoy watching how they grow and make new discoveries every day, I am pleased to help parents and children understand each other better.

In her practice with adults, she asked herself the question of how a personality is formed and what influences the formation of a healthy psyche. And it so happened that my daughter began to study at the Mon Ami center according to the Montessori method from the age of 3, which made it possible to observe how the method works and what results it gives.
My interest led me to Maria Ruth’s AMI course in Munich, where I completely immersed myself in the world of childhood! The inspiration was so great that it led me to my already native Mon Ami in a new capacity.

CASA dei BAMBINI 3-6 Montessori teacher
SSPU, teacher of English and French TESOL certificate AMI diploma 3-6 (Prague 2016)
While working as a simultaneous interpreter on a 6-12 course in Prague, I became interested in the Montessori method. During her studies and after completing an internship in Europe, she began working as an English-speaking teacher in grades 3-6. Subsequently, I was repeatedly involved as an interpreter for the AMI exams of courses 0-3 and 3-6 in Russia. In 2017-2019, she was engaged in management and worked as a leading Montessori teacher (already in Russian) in her own children’s center.
Montessori for me is, first of all, a scientifically based and quite logical pedagogical method, which is important for my work as a specialist. When working with a group of children, you need to know and understand the tools you can use. At heart, I am a humanist and researcher, I love communication with people and it gives me pleasure to look for answers with them and walk this path in a fun and active way.

I consider the humanistic approach in the formation of a benevolent and creative society to be the only true one. It is such a society that allows us to fully reveal the potential of a person, to be needed, useful and happy for each of us, to have our place under the Sun.
Maria Montessori understood, described and scientifically substantiated the natural way of growing up. The method of scientific pedagogy of Maria Montessori allows every child to become a person of the World, to enter an adult society with a clear understanding of who he is and what he can give to the World.

I value alternative education for the opportunity to contribute to the upbringing of free, responsible and independent people. From the first years of university, I was engaged in private teaching of English for children, already then trying to make learning comfortable for the child, to let my students open up and show a craving for knowledge. A close acquaintance with Montessori happened on a retraining course for a psychologist. There I realized how interesting the path of becoming a child’s personality is, especially if the leading figure in this process is the child himself.

September Principal Letter
Dear Longfellow Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope everyone has had a summer filled with memories to last a lifetime. Although we have been on vacation, I can share that, true to Longfellow form, our staff and teachers have been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare for a successful start to the new school year.
I am very proud and excited to begin my first year as principal at Longfellow Elementary. While we will have plenty of time to build relationships and get to know one another, I will share a bit of my personal and professional background information. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at San Diego (1995), and my Master’s Degree from the University of California at Berkeley (1998). This year marks my 24th year in the Long Beach Unified School District, and my 12th year as principal in the LBUSD. I have had the honor of serving as principal at two schools in my previous assignments, and have truly enjoyed these opportunities. Prior to being a principal, I have been a vice principal, a level office administrator, a program specialist for state and federal programs, an instructional facilitator, and a classroom teacher in Kindergarten and first grade. I am a third generation educator, with my grandmother having taught both in post-World War II Greece and locally, my mother having retired from teaching, and my sister serving as a Transitional Kindergarten teacher. My wife, Laura, and I have been married for nearly 20 years, and both of our sons attend schools in the LBUSD. I very much look forward to learning more about our families’ and students’ stories that have shaped their lived experiences!
To bring a bit of “business” to this communication, please note the following dates and events:
➢ Thursday, August 25th – TK/Kindergarten Orientation, 9:00 a.m. (Auditorium)
➢ Wednesday, August 31st – First Day of School (Minimum Day)
➢ Monday, September 5th – Labor Day, No School
➢ Thursday, September 22nd – Back to School Night (Minimum Day Dismissal)
I cannot wait to meet our students and families in person, and here is to our best school year yet!
–Sam Platis
Proud Principal, Longfellow Elementary School

After School Pick-up Procedures
We ask you to remember that school is in session from 8:00 a.m. until 2:05 p.m. M, T, W, & F for grades 1, 2, & 3 and 2:10 p.m. M, T, W, & F for grades 4 & 5 (1:30 p.m. on Thursday for grades 1-5). The gates will be opened daily by the end of the school day to accommodate parents, guardians & child care providers wishing to come on campus to pick up students. We respectfully request that you wait off campus until the gates are opened. You may wish to have your child meet you at a designated spot on the large playground in case you are not able to pick them up on time. This way, your child is supervised and less concerned if you are late. The playground is supervised daily until 3:00 p. m.
Children staying on the playground after school may not leave campus for any reason except to go home. After school students are not to leave campus then decide to return. For example, a student may not leave campus and return with food purchased at a local establishment. Under such circumstances, parents/guardians will be notified and the student’s after school playground privilege may be revoked. However, if the student feels it is necessary to return to the school campus due to safety reasons, the student must go directly to the office and/or speak directly with a coach.
Thank you for understanding our need to keep our students safe and secure and our campus quiet and calm so our teachers can focus on teaching and learning all day at Longfellow. Should you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at your convenience.
Traffic Safety – A Non-Negotiable Expectation for Our School
Nothing is more important than working together – students, teachers, staff and families – to help maintain safety at Longfellow. Our school’s programs, including Valet Drop Off (on Bixby Avenue), written reminders, a detailed drop off map in our Longfellow Handbook, Walk to School Wednesdays, adult supervision, traffic cones and working with our city’s traffic patrol officers are all aimed at helping our Longfellow Lions return home at the end of the day healthy and safely. We need to continue to work together to make sure that we… Never park in red curb zones, never drop off students in the middle of the street, never speed in our neighborhood, never compromise the safety of our students with unsafe driving habits, and please do not use the Hughes parking lot as a drop-off for our Longfellow students.Your commitment to traffic safety is essential. The LBPD also monitors the area to support our traffic safety efforts. While the morning can be a busy time of day, please leave home with plenty of time so that we never have to compromise the safety of anyone.
Longfellow Attendance Update
It is our school goal for every Longfellow Lion to earn at least one perfect trimester attendance award. However, we realize there are valid reasons for students to miss school. Absences due to illness, family funerals, religious holidays, and doctor and dentist appointments are excused. However, according to state law, absences for any other reason are unexcused.
After 3 unexcused absences or tardies in excess of 30 minutes, parents will receive a letter that notifies them that their child is being “reported to the Long Beach Unified School District as a truant from school pursuant to the provisions of Section 48260 of the Education Codes.” So if your child has three or more unexcused absences, or tardies of more than 30 minutes, you can expect to receive a “truancy letter” the week of November 1st. Attendance notes are due the day the child returns to school. If you have attendance questions, contact our attendance clerk, Ms. Diane Eley, or our counselor, Christy Cleveland..
Registration Information
Registration packets are available daily from 8:00-noon or 1:00-3:00. Items needed to register your child are a birth certificate, proof of residency and immunization record. For more details about these items, please click on the registration button.

How to create a paraprofessional resume (with template and examples) • BUOM
March 9, 2021
When applying for a job as a paraprofessional, you need to have a resume that properly demonstrates your experience and skills. Knowing what to include on a paraprofessional resume and how to format it will help you impress hiring managers. In this article, we define the role of a paraprofessional, list what should be included in a paraprofessional resume, and provide you with a paraprofessional template and example. nine0005
What is a paraprofessional?
Paraprofessional refers to a teacher’s assistant, teacher’s assistant, or paraeducator. While these educators are not licensed to teach, they perform teaching duties by assisting certified educators. Paraprofessionals have many responsibilities, including the following:
Assist teachers and provide administrative support for classroom teaching.
nine0137
Observe students outside of class.
Reinforce lessons presented by the teacher by reviewing them with students in small groups or individually.
Help teachers create materials and prepare and deliver their lesson plans.
Encourage good behavior and enforce school rules and regulations.
Help teachers grade assignments and tests.
nine0138
Observe students both in and out of the classroom, such as during breaks or field trips.
Help minimize breaks in class and create a supportive environment.
Help teachers track a student’s yearly progress and create reports to share with parents.
What to include in a paraprofessional resume
When you create a paraprofessional resume, you need to include the right elements to effectively show hiring managers your qualifications and how they fit the job they are hiring for. The more your resume matches the required qualifications, the better your chances of getting an interview or a job offer. Here’s what to include on a paraprofessional resume:
Name and contact information
Your first and last name and your current contact information should be listed at the top of your resume. At a minimum, you must provide an email address and phone number. This gives hiring managers and recruiters the opportunity to contact you if they want to set up an interview. It also allows them to verify you and cross-check your information with background checks.
If you have a website, you can also include the URL in the contact information section of your resume. Make sure it’s up to date and shows your interest or experience in education. nine0005
Professional resume
While you don’t necessarily need a professional resume or purpose on your paraprofessional resume, it gives hiring managers a quick overview of who you are and what your career goals are for the position you’re applying for.
If you include a professional resume, make sure it is short and to the point. Also, make sure it answers why the employer should hire you, how the position fits with your career goals, and what experience and skills make you the best fit for the job. nine0005
Education
To pursue a paraprofessional career, you need a resume that highlights your experience in the field. To become a paraprofessional, you need a high school diploma or GED and a college degree. Start by listing the most recent education you received. Please include the name of your school, its location, the degree you completed and the dates you attended. While not required, you can also enter your GPA if it was 3.4 or higher. In addition to your high school diploma or official diploma, you can also list any certificate or training you have received. nine0005
Because the specific education requirements for a paraprofessional vary by state, it is important to determine what your state and employer require and include the information on your resume. Keep in mind that every employer is looking for something different when it comes to the education section of your resume. Try to highlight what you think they are looking for and refer to the job posting to determine their specific education requirements.
Experience
Hiring managers assess your experience in this area based on your work history. For them to consider hiring you, they need to know that you have previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a related field.
Because of this, you need to include a work experience section on your resume that lists the names of all your previous jobs, the names of your previous companies or employers, their location, the dates you worked there, and your specific job responsibilities. every position. Make sure the positions and experience listed on your paraprofessional resume are relevant to the job you are applying for. Keep each experience detailed and, if possible, include numbers to show your influence in your previous roles. nine0005
Skills
Paraprofessionals should have a variety of skills that demonstrate their respective knowledge. To highlight your unique qualifications, you need a skills section on your resume that lists a mix of your respective hard and social skills. When you apply for a job, be sure to include the specific keywords you find in the job posting. Be sure to list only the skills you have. Try to highlight six to twelve of your most impressive skills. nine0005
Some general skills for paraprofessionals include:
Classroom guide
Special education
Teaching materials
Behavioral problems
Mathematics
Achievements
If you have space for this, you can also include a section on your awards and achievements in the paraprofessional field. Achievements show your motivation, your commitment to your career and your hard work in this area. If possible, tailor your accomplishments to the job posting to stand out from other job seekers. For example, achievement in inclusive education is relevant to a special education position. nine0005

Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba (Córdoba, Spain)
Córdoba, Spain in the Andalusian city of Cordoba. This is one of the most outstanding architectural monuments Umayyad dynasty . In the Middle Ages, Mezquita was the second largest mosque in the world.
Mesquita is famous for its arcade with more than a thousand columns made of jasper, onyx, marble and granite. Double arches help support high ceilings. The gilded mihrab of Mezquita is a masterpiece of architectural art. The central dome is decorated with blue tiles in the shape of stars.
The construction of the Mezquita dates back approximately to 600 and was built as a Visigothic church of Vincent of Saragossa. Later it became a mosque, but the original building has not survived to this day: in 711 it was destroyed.
Emir Abd ar-Rahman I wished to build a temple (786-788) similar to the mosque in Damascus. Subsequently, the mosque underwent numerous changes: Abd ar-Rahman III built a new minaret (later the minaret was converted into a tower on which the Archangel Raphael, the patron saint of Cordoba, rises). Al-Hakam II in 961 increased the area of the building and enriched the mihrab. The last of the reconstructions were carried out by Al-Mansur Ibn Abi Aamir in 987. By the end of construction work, Mesquita was decorated with 1293 columns, 1445 lamps and 280 chandeliers.
The architecture of the building has a Spanish-Roman influence. Some of the work was done by Byzantine masters. The influence of Christian culture is also felt in the cruciform design of the ensemble itself, created by the mihrab.
There are several versions explaining the incorrect orientation of the mosque. Some scientists suggest that mihrab is oriented to the south because the structure of the mosque was borrowed from the more ancient structures of the Romans and Visigoths. Others argue that the mihrab is oriented towards the capital of the Umayyad empire, Damascus.
After the Spanish Reconquista, the mosque was converted into a church (1523 – 1560), and some interior details, such as columns and arches, were stylistically replaced. Craftsmen and architects continued to add something to the existing structure of the building until the end of the 18th century. Now it is the Cathedral of Cordoba (catedral de Córdoba). Its uniqueness is manifested in the fact that it is simultaneously considered a shrine of various cultures, the famous Mesquite mosque and the main church of the dioceses.
