Cornerstone on Sixth is a 24 town home development

APOPKA, Fla. – The city of Apopka and Orange County are hoping to get results for Central Florida residents with the construction of a new affordable housing development.

The Hannibal Square Community Land Trust broke ground on the new 24 town home development called Cornerstone on Sixth on Friday.

The town homes will be located off of 6th Street near downtown Apopka.

Despite several obstacles over the last few years, the Hannibal Square Community Land Trust, city of Apopka and Orange County didn’t give up on the development.

[TRENDING: Become a News 6 Insider]

“Oh man, we survived some hurricanes, a pandemic, and a couple of financers dropping out,” said Juan Hollingsworth, Hannibal Square Community Land Trust president. “It’s been a long road.”

Hollingsworth said the land where development will be built sat desolate prior to the project.

“We had an opportunity to acquire this land, to build affordable housing for this particular community that is underserved,” Hollingsworth said.

Each town home will have three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms with an open-concept floor plan, a contemporary design and stainless steel appliances. In total, the project is estimated to cost $8 million.

Construction costs will be covered by the Black Economic Development Fund, an investment fund created to address economic disparity and the wealth gap in Black communities.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said the county will also throw in another $1.5 million from the Orange County Housing Trust to help keep the homes affordable.

“We’re living in inflationary times,” Demings said. “We’re living during a high growth period of time in which our population is increasing significantly. The one thing that hasn’t kept pace is the wages within our community. And so to make housing more affordable for those who are working class people is very important.”

Hollingsworth said thanks to community partnerships and funding, they’ll be able to keep the mortgages around $200,000. He said the construction is estimated to take 18 months.

Florida city looking to elect its first-ever dog mayor

By Dani Medina

Apopka

FOX 35 Orlando

APOPKA, Fla. – Apopka is looking for a new mayor, but it’s not what you think.

Residents are looking to elect the city’s first Honorary Dog Mayor – and voting is underway now.

The Apopka City Council is reportedly behind the campaign that’s sponsored by local farm Kasheta Farms, according to the Apopka Dog Mayor website.

“This K9 extravaganza promotes healthy and heartwarming fun while connecting dog-loving neighbors, strangers, pet rescue facilities, veterinarians, local pet-centric businesses, and everyone in between,” the website said. “As part of this honorary mayoral program, each candidate running for office will nominate a local (central FL) pet rescue facility to donate a portion of their collected proceeds.”

To be put into the running, dogs must be residents of Apopka, must select a Central Florida pet rescue center to support during the campaign, must submit proof of obedience training, must pay a $50 candidacy fee and must present a valid rabies vaccine.

The window for nominations finished at the end of June, but five pups made it to the next round: the big race. Here’s a look at the pups who made it this far:

  • Kobe: 8-year-old Siberian Husky-Alaskan Malamute, supporting Husky Haven of Florida
  • Murphy: 3-year-old Basset-Dachshund, supporting Suncoast Basset Rescue
  • Asher: 10-year-old Border Collie, supporting Second Chance Animal Rescue & Sanctuary
  • Lola Bear: 1-year, 7-month-old Sable German Shepherd, supporting Bully Up Rescue
  • Jarvis: 9-year-old Australian Shepherd, supporting C. A.R.E. Foundation

Check out more info about the candidates here.

The winning dog will “fulfill their mayoral duties” for a year. Some of those responsibilities include:

  • Promoting the City of Apopka
  • Supporting Apopka City Commissioners in their projects
  • Attending community events
  • Accepting invitations for official visits including ribbon cuttings and hospital visits
  • Speaking out on behalf of animals in Apopka
  • Advocating for support of local pet rescue facilities and the creation of more pet-friendly spots in Apopka

Runners-up are still in the picture, with commissioner seat titles and a few other duties to take care of – the kind that doesn’t require a dog waste bag.

To earn the public’s vote, dogs in the running will make special appearances at community events and advocate for their chosen pet rescue facility.

Voting starts August 2 and culminates on Election Day on August 5, where the votes will be tallied and the city’s first dog mayor will be revealed.

Educational Consultant Job Description and Salary

Educational Consultant Job Description and Salary – Peru State College Online

Written by:
Peru State
  •  Jul 26, 2021

In addition to advising clients on changes to educational best practices, educational consultants provide guidance to improve student learning through the use of new technologies, academic intervention programs and data to determine if changes need to be made to curricula.

Teachers and other professionals interested in the educational consultant job description and looking to advance their careers in this field should consider an advanced degree, such as an online
Master of Science in Education.

What Does an Educational Consultant Do?

Educational consultants advise educators, parents and schools on teaching styles and educational strategies that can improve students’ learning. Where some professionals in this field work with schools or school districts, others work directly with students and their families.

Although the day-to-day responsibilities of an educational consultant can vary based on where they work, sample job duties may include the following.

  • Recommend new or updated educational materials.
  • Supervise online and/or remote learning programs.
  • Provide guidance to match students to various learning environments, such as advanced placement classes or special education programs.
  • Meet with school administrators to discuss budgets and programs.
  • Prepare reports on the effectiveness of curricula and academic programs.
  • Assess classroom policies and educational standards.
  • Evaluate students’ academic progress and determine whether educational interventions are needed.
  • Guide teachers on how they can increase student participation.
  • Guide educators on how they can improve their teaching style.
  • Develop training and development programs for school staff.
  • Analyze an educational institution’s performance data, including graduation rates and test scores, and devise strategies to improve performance metrics.

Work Environments for Educational Consultants

The work environments for educational consultants vary widely based on the type of consulting services they offer. For example, where some work directly with schools, colleges, government agencies, or nonprofits, others prefer to work directly with students and their parents. In the latter example, educational consultants may work in private offices or at their clients’ homes. They may provide expertise on how to address the educational needs of students with behavioral and emotional disorders, or how to best teach students with developmental and learning disabilities.

An educational consultant job description generally indicates a full-time and year-round work schedule, even for those employed by schools.

Educational Consultant Salary

According to the compensation website PayScale, as of March 2021 the average base salary for educational consultants was around $63,200. Earners in the top 10% reported annual incomes of more than $95,000. Salaries in the profession vary based on a number of factors, such as the employer (working for a school, private company or being self-employed, for example), as well as the geographic region and the background and experience of the employee.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) does not provide data specifically for educational consultants, but it does for the closely-related occupation of instructional coordinator, which has many of the same responsibilities. The annual median salary for instructional coordinators, according to the BLS, is nearly $67,000. Those working in colleges, universities and professional schools have an annual median salary of about $63,000, while those working for government agencies earn an annual median salary of nearly $77,000.

Steps to Become an Educational Consultant

Educational consultants must have a solid base of knowledge and strong leadership and other skills to be successful. This is generally developed through education, experience and certification.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is the minimum requirement for an educational consultant, with many positions requiring an advanced degree. Although professionals in this field may come from all educational backgrounds, a degree in education or cognitive science can be beneficial. Those with a master’s or Ph.D., or those having specializations in areas such as blended learning, curriculum design and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are likely to have the best job prospects.

Master’s degree coursework often includes classes such as assessment of instruction, curriculum development and second language acquisition, among others.

Experience

Graduates may pursue various career paths that can help them toward their goal of becoming an educational consultant. For example, some professionals start their careers by working as high school or college admissions counselors, others start by earning their teaching certificate and teaching students in a classroom environment. Along the way, key skills such as empathy, communication, analysis, decision making and organization are typically developed.

Professional Organizations for Educational Consultants

The educational consultant job description does not specify that candidates must hold professional memberships. Having said that, however, professionals may find that pursuing membership with industry organizations such as the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) to be beneficial. While membership eligibility requirements vary from organization to organization, applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree to apply.

To be eligible for professional membership in the IECA, candidates must have at least three years of experience working in admissions or educational placement counseling, one year of experience in independent educational consulting, and must hold a master’s degree or higher in a relevant field, in addition to meeting other membership requirements.

Become an Educational Consultant

As long as education plays a key role in shaping students on their path toward success, demand for qualified, skilled education will remain strong. The BLS notes that employment in this general area of the education and training field is projected to grow by 6% between 2019 and 2029. This is faster than the projected average growth for all occupations.

Bachelor’s degree holders who are interested in learning more about how to become an educational consultant are likely to find that completing an advanced education can prepare them with the knowledge and proficiencies to be successful.

How to Become an Educational Advisor • BUOM

March 12, 2021

Educational Advisors help schools, teachers, parents and students improve the educational experience in a variety of ways. An educational consultant can help the school system create new procedures, help parents of a child with special needs navigate the school system, or work with a high school student to plan their college and career goals. Becoming an educational consultant can take some time because teaching experience is rewarding, but careful planning can help you navigate your career more easily.

In this article, we describe what an Educational Consultant is, what an Educational Consultant does, how to become an Educational Consultant, the Salary of an Educational Consultant, and the skills Educational Consultants need to develop.

What is an educational consultant?

An educational consultant is a trained professional with relevant degrees who offers feedback and suggestions to other education professionals such as teachers and administrators, as well as parents and children. As an educational consultant, you will work to become an expert in your field and then use that experience to help others in the field improve their work as teachers. You may work with K-12 schools or universities, or students from those schools, depending on your area of expertise. Many educational consultants have experience as a teacher or other educational professional.

What does an educational consultant do?

An educational consultant will help your clients with various aspects of the educational system, depending on their field of activity. Not all educational consultants provide the same help or know the same things, so if you’re considering working as an educational consultant, it’s helpful to find a niche where you can be an expert.

The educational consultant’s responsibilities may include advice on the use of new educational tools, organizational recommendations, and personnel recommendations for the school. An educational advisor who works with individual students and their guardians can provide advice on special needs, exam preparation, or college planning.

How to Become an Educational Consultant

When considering options for this career, start with the steps you need to take to become one, as detailed below:

1. Get an education

An educational consultant is usually required to have some experience as a teacher, so the educational requirements are the same for both. You usually need at least a bachelor’s degree in whatever area of teaching you prefer. You’ll also likely want to complete any licensing requirements for teachers in your area, which will likely include teacher credentials so you can start the profession when you’re ready.

2. Gain experience or further your education

If you plan to work for a consulting firm, some require you to also have a master’s degree. Despite this, a master’s degree will help you gain experience in the field that you can use as a consultant, as well as reassure your clients of your knowledge. General teaching experience is also extremely helpful for becoming an educational consultant, as it is truly the best way to get an understanding of the chosen area of expertise. Ideally, you should complete a master’s degree and also gain some teaching experience. Many training and certification programs include field assistance or classroom instruction as part of their requirements.

3. Identify the area of expertise you want

Once you have some experience and possibly a college degree, you will be able to see areas that you think need improvement in the education system. You may decide that you want to help individual students with special needs and their families, college students who are not sure what to do next, or entire schools or school systems. Even in these areas, you can get additional specialization. Determining the area in which you want to become an expert is especially important for an educational consultant.

4. Find out what it’s like to work in this area of expertise

If you have some general teaching experience, perhaps a master’s degree, and have identified an area you want to specialize in, you’ll probably want to work in that area. You may find it easier to continue as a teacher while also finding ways to work in that area of expertise. This could mean starting a blog, writing a book about your observations, working with colleagues on new initiatives, or consulting outside if your employer allows it.

5. Understand the rules and policies of educational institutions

To become a useful and qualified educational consultant, you may need to independently study the regulations and rules that apply to educational institutions in different cities, states and countries. Whether you’re working with the school system or helping individual students, this can be helpful, as it will give you a better understanding of what the government expects from schools and students. This will allow you to give more detailed advice on how to improve the school or student’s situation.

6. Gain experience working with those involved in education

As you plan to move from teaching to working as an educational consultant, you may gain experience in counseling other teachers or students and their parents. It could be the blog you have where you write about your experience as a teacher and give advice to your commentators, or it could be a job as a mentor at your current school. Because counseling is a little different from training, it can be helpful to gain some experience before working full-time as a consultant.

7. Consider professional organizations

There are several professional organizations for educational counselors, such as the Association of Independent Educational Counselors or the Association of Higher Educational Counselors, and membership can be beneficial to your career as an educational counselor. Each professional organization has its own requirements for entry and field of activity, so you will probably want to find out which one is right for you. Joining a professional organization can enhance your resume and help you find career opportunities.

8. Choose between owning your own business or working for a consulting firm.

Some educational consultants run their own business where you work with clients you find yourself, while others work for a consulting firm that puts you where you are needed. There are pros and cons to each option, and the best choice for you will depend on the kind of work you want to do and how you prefer to work. You can also decide to start with one type of company and then change it, such as starting with a consulting firm and then creating your own independent consulting business.

Educational Consultant Salary

According to Indeed Salaries, the average salary for an Educational Consultant is $76,730 per year. It depends on the location of the consultant and the company you work for. Your compensation package may also include benefits such as 401(k), health insurance, life insurance, flexible hours, and paid time off. If you are an independent educational consultant, you will generally need to arrange some sort of benefits for yourself, but you can earn the same salary.

Educational Counselor Skills

An Educational Counselor usually needs all the skills a teacher has and a desire to improve educational systems by helping your clients navigate them. Some of the most useful skills include:

  • Teaching skills

  • Knowledge of popular teaching programs

  • Excellent communication skills

  • ability to demonstrate teaching methods.

  • Knowledge of educational systems and structures

  • Awareness of college entry requirements and application processes

  • Ability to teach adults effectively

  • Knowledge of education laws and regulations

  • Understanding how to help students with special needs

A financial consultant is a kind of freelancer in the world of modern finance and market relations. This is an expert in the field of financial transactions, profit distribution and investment, whose services are used by both individuals and large companies.

However, he does not have to be a full-time employee, more and more often financial advisers provide their services privately and receive very good money for this.

The financial direction involves the study of a wide range of subjects related to money, their receipt, distribution and expenditure, as well as the functioning of companies in general.

In addition to comprehensive training, already at the undergraduate level, future finance experts usually train in various financial companies, where they gain valuable experience.

What do financial advisors do?

The duty of a financial advisor is to help clients make the right decisions and use their money to achieve certain goals. Most often – to stabilize the financial position of the company or increase capital.

The goals of each client may be different, so the direction of counseling should also be flexible, individual for each situation.

As we have already noted, a financial adviser can be a full-time employee of an enterprise or work for himself and give private advice. At the same time, a financial consultant can work with different clients, from large corporations to small firms and even individuals.

Here are some of the daily tasks of a financial advisor:

  • gathering information about clients’ income and expenses, insurance policies, taxes, financial risks and other factors to create an appropriate money plan
  • drafting investment strategies
  • search for optimal solutions to save and/or increase the budget
  • asset and securities management
  • calculation of possible financial risks
  • directly advising clients on any emerging issues in the field of finance

Where do financial advisors work and how much do they earn?

The profile of the work of a financial consultant is much broader than it might seem at first glance. For example, you can specialize in investing, buying and selling shares, retirement planning, insurance, tax settlement, real estate investment, education, and so on.

It is important to understand that a financial advisor is an expert who helps clients with any money related issues. Therefore, depending on the specialization, a consultant can both solve financial issues of international corporations and help clients in distributing the family budget for a wedding.

In Russia, the salary of financial consultants varies from ₽25,000 to ₽200,000 per month, depending on the city and profile of work. Abroad, the average salary of financial consultants is $70,000-80,000 per year .

What qualities should a financial advisor have?

In addition to higher specialized education, a successful financial consultant must also possess some other qualities, among them:

Communication skills and ability to work with people

In whatever area you give financial advice, the very process of such work is quite complicated, because it is completely tied to communication with other people.

In this profession, it is important to achieve understanding and trust from clients, as well as to be able to convince them that you are right. You need to be prepared for the fact that the solutions you propose may raise doubts among customers, because they directly relate to their wallet and future.

Therefore, the ability to convey information accurately, justify one’s position and professionally answer all customer questions is especially important.

Professional ethics

As you have already understood, a financial consultant must also be a good psychologist. In matters related to money, there is always a risk of succumbing to certain temptations and looking for benefits for yourself.

But a professional consultant must put the interests of his clients first. This is the key to success and a good reputation in this profession.

Willingness to work with documents and data

A financial adviser deals not only with different people, but also with a huge amount of different documents, papers and data.

Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works

Apache2 Debian Default Page

This is the default welcome page used to test the correct
operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Debian systems.
If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at
this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at
/var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.

If you are a normal user of this web site and don’t know what this page is
about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to
maintenance.
If the problem persists, please contact the site’s administrator.

Debian’s Apache2 default configuration is different from the
upstream default configuration, and split into several files optimized for
interaction with Debian tools. The configuration system is
fully documented in
/usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian.gz
. Refer to this for the full
documentation. Documentation for the web server itself can be
found by accessing the manual if the apache2-doc
package was installed on this server.

The configuration layout for an Apache2 web server installation on Debian systems is as follows:

/etc/apache2/
|-- apache2.conf
| `-- ports.conf
|-- mods-enabled
| |-- *.load
| `-- *.conf
|-- conf-enabled
| `-- *.conf
|-- sites-enabled
| `-- *.conf

  • apache2.conf is the main configuration
file. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining configuration
files when starting up the web server.
  • ports.conf is always included from the
main configuration file. It is used to determine the listening ports for
incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
  • Configuration files in the mods-enabled/,
    conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/ directories contain
particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration
fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively.
  • They are activated by symlinking available
    configuration files from their respective
*-available/ counterparts. These should be managed
    by using our helpers

    a2enmod,
    a2dismod,

    a2ensite,
    a2dissite,

    and

    a2enconf,
    a2disconf
. See their respective man pages for detailed information.

  • The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of
environment variables, in the default configuration, apache2 needs to be
    started/stopped with /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl.
Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not work with the
    default configuration.

By default, Debian does not allow access through the web browser to
any file apart of those located in /var/www,
public_html
directories (when enabled) and /usr/share (for web
applications). If your site is using a web document root
located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your
document root directory in /etc/apache2/apache2. conf.

The default Debian document root is /var/www/html. You
can make your own virtual hosts under /var/www. This is different
to previous releases which provides better security out of the box.

Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs in the
Apache2 package with Debian. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.

Please report bugs specific to modules (such as PHP and others)
to respective packages, not to the web server itself.

History

The emergence of the concept of primary colors is associated with the need to reproduce colors for which there was no exact color equivalent in the artist’s palette. The development of color reproduction technology required minimizing the number of such colors, and therefore conceptually complementary methods for obtaining mixed colors were developed: mixing color rays (from light sources with a certain spectral composition), and mixing paints (reflecting light, and having their own characteristic reflection spectra).

Various “primary colors” selections

Color mixing depends on the color model. There are additive and subtractive mixing models.

Additive model

Main article: Additive color mixing

In the additive mixing model, colors are obtained as ray blending. In the absence of rays, there is no color – black, the maximum mixing gives white. An example of an additive color model is RGB.

Subtractive color synthesis

Main article: CMYK

A method using light reflection and appropriate dyes. In the subtractive mixing model, colors are obtained as mixing paints. In the absence of paint, there is no color – white, the maximum mixing gives black. An example of a subtractive color model is CMYK.

According to Johannes Itten, there are only 3 primary colors: red, yellow and blue. The remaining colors of the color wheel are formed by mixing these three in various proportions.

Biophysical background

Main article: Human vision

Main article: Psychology of color perception

Basic colors are not a property of light, their choice is determined by the properties of the human eye and the technical properties of color reproduction systems.

Four “pure” colors

Psychophysiological studies have led to the assumption of the existence of some “pure” and unique colors: [1] – red, yellow, green and blue, with red and green forming one color-contrasting axis, and yellow and blue forming another.

Technical implementations of the “primary colors” model

Emission spectra of red, green and blue phosphors that determine the capabilities of the additive color reproduction model of a typical CRT-based display

Child Care FAQs

The national typical hourly rate in 2022 is $20. 00 per hour for nannies and $17.50 for babysitters. Rates can vary based on the child care provider’s experience, certifications, employment status, and travel expenses. When calculating the cost of child care, you should also account for the number of children they’ll care for and additional responsibilities like household tasks or homework help. Learn more about how to set competitive rates for attracting the best babysitters.

The best way to find child care near you is to post a job detailing your needs on Sittercity, which will be shared with our community of available babysitters and nannies. We’ll notify you when child care providers apply to your job, and from there you can proceed with interviews, background checks, and reference checks so you can find the perfect fit for your family.

You can find experienced and passionate child care providers near you to provide the best care for your child, either in-home or virtually. Families find trustworthy child care providers on Sittercity who are passionate about providing safe and enriching care for their children. Many providers report they are First Aid and CPR certified to provide the best care for your family. Babysitters and nannies have the option to complete regular background checks, and you can easily request a recent background check if they don’t have one or it is not recent. Families can also request to see professional references!

Our dedicated team also champions safety across our platform every day. Child care providers go through an identity verification process Berbix when registering an account. Some additional safety measures include Family Watchdog screening, babysitter and nanny reviews, and secure messaging.

Nannies and babysitters share the same primary responsibility of providing safe and enriching care for your child, but there are a few differences between them. Nannies are more commonly associated with regular work, whether full or part-time, offering daily or consistent care to a particular family. There are also several different types of nannies, including au pairs, house managers, doulas, live-in, and overnight nannies.

Babysitters, on the other hand, are typically hired for irregular or occasional work, either full or part-time. If you’re looking for last-minute care for date night, or the occasional few hours after school, a babysitter is a great best option.

Identifying the type and frequency of child care you’ll need is the best way to decide whether a babysitter or nanny is a better fit for your family.

Child care providers on Sittercity love providing enriching experiences for your children, and sharing their passions with them. They’re happy to participate in outdoor activities like sports, or indoor activities like music, baking, tutoring help, and art. History of Clermont-Ferrand, France – City Guide

The history of Clermont-Ferrand dates back to time immemorial: Clermont-Ferrand is one of the oldest cities in France, the first mention of which was made by the ancient Greek geographer Strabo, who named it Nemessos ( Nemessos ) , which in Gaulish means sacred forest.

The settlement of the territory of present-day Clermont-Ferrand is evidenced as early as the Neolithic era, as evidenced by the erection of several menhirs (Brezet, Sainte-Anne, Puy-de-la-Poix) and the Puy-de-Cruel dolmen. The Cardiac culture (ancient Neolithic), typical of the south of France, but also present in the Auvergne and the Lyon region, is attested at the Brezet and Rue de Quatre Passport sites.

At the foot of the hill on which the ancient city will be built, there are also some signs of primitive settlements.

Roman era

The ancient Nemessos was located on the site where today stands the Cathedral of Clermont-Ferrand.

The settlement witnessed the famous battle of Gergovia, in which the Gauls, led by Vercingetorix, a native of these places, temporarily defeated the Romans, led by Julius Caesar. Vercingetorix led the united Gallic resistance to the Roman invasion, led by Julius Caesar.

After the Roman conquest, the city was renamed Augustonemetum (in the 1st century BC), which combined its original Gallic name with the name of Emperor Augustus. The forum of the Roman city is located on the top of the hill of Clermont, on the site of the current cathedral and Place Victoire. Its population in the 2nd century AD was estimated at 15,000–30,000 inhabitants, making it one of the largest cities in Roman Gaul. It then became Arvernis in the 3rd century, taking its name, like other Gallic cities of that era, from the people who lived within its walls.

The history of Clermont-Ferrand in the early Middle Ages

The town became a bishopric in the 5th century, during the time of Bishop Namatius or St. Namac, who built here the cathedral described by Gregory of Tours. Clermont experienced a dark period after the disappearance of the Roman Empire and throughout the High Middle Ages, marked by the depredations of peoples who invaded Gaul. Between 471 and 475 Auvergne was often the object of Visigothic expansion and the city was often besieged, including once by Eureka. Although the city was defended by Sidonius Apollinaris, who headed the diocese from 468 to 486, and the patrician Ecdicius, in 475 the city was transferred to the Visigoths by Emperor Julius Nepos and until 507 became part of the Visigothic kingdom, becoming part of the Kingdom of the Franks.

On November 8, 535, the first Council of Clermont was opened in Arvernis (Clermont), with the participation of fifteen bishops, including Caesarius of Arles, Nisier of Lyon, Bishop of Trier, and St. Hilary, Bishop of Mende. The council issued 16 resolutions. The second canon reaffirmed the principle that the conferring of episcopal dignity should be based on merit and not as a result of intrigue.

In 570, Bishop Avit ordered the Jews of the city, who numbered more than 500 people, to accept Christian baptism or expel them.

Birth of Clermont

In 848 the city was renamed Clermont, after the castle of Clarus Mons ( Clarus Mons ). Clairmont was an episcopal city ruled by its bishop and is known to be the starting point of the First Crusade launched to liberate Jerusalem from Muslim rule. Pope Urban II preached a crusade in 1095 at Clermont Cathedral.

Clermont-Ferrand was repeatedly attacked by the Vikings during the weakening of the Carolingian Empire. The city was ravaged by the Normans under Hastein or Hastingen in 862 and 864, and again in 898 year. After the devastation, Bishop Etienne II built a new Romanesque cathedral, which was consecrated in 946. It has been almost entirely replaced by the current Gothic Notre Dame cathedral, although the crypt survives and the towers were only replaced in the 19th century.

Birth of Montferrand

In 1120, after repeated crises between the counts of Auvergne and the bishops of Clermont and in order to counter the power of the clergy, the counts of Auvergne founded the city of Montferrand, modeled on the new bastide cities in southern France. Until the beginning of the New Age, these two cities remained separate cities: Clermont, an episcopal city; Montferrand – Count. In 1551, Clermont became a royal city, and in 1610, an inalienable property of the crown.

Birth of Clermont-Ferrand

On April 15, 1630, the Edict of Troyes (First Decree of the Union) forcibly united the two cities: Clermont and Montferrand. This union was confirmed in 1731 by Louis XV’s Second Edict of Union. At that time, Montferrand was nothing more than a satellite city of Clermont, which it remained until the early 20th century. Wanting to maintain independence, Montferrand made three demands for independence in 1789, 1848 and 1863.

The history of Clermont-Ferrand today

In the 20th century, the construction of the Michelin factories and city gardens that formed today’s Clermont-Ferrand united the two cities. However, these two separate centers have survived to this day, and the Montferrand quarter has retained a strong identity. Interest in it began to recover from the second half of the 20th century, its mansions began to be restored, and its development as a tourist attraction began.

Terrible ones: The Adventure of Parenthood: Toddler Tantrums

Terrible Ones – Tantrums Galore

My son is 17 months old – only child – I’m a stay at home mom. For a few months, his tantrums or attitude in general has changed. Don’t get me wrong, he’s still so very sweet, gives hugs and will go “awww” when there’s something sweet he sees and he’ll lay with me. Such a sweetie.. such a little devil at the same time!

I can handle him throwing everything is sees around the house, I tell him no and will give him something else to play with which 50% of the time he throws that too. But as we were taking our son Easter egg hunting with kids 2 and under, I couldn’t help but notice how easy going they were. These parents are holding their kids in their arms and they’re simply sitting there not bothering anyone. My kid kept trying to get out of my arms, pushing away from me with his hands while squealing. Then there were other kids who were standing near their parents. Every once in a while one parent had to grab a kid that wandered too far. I set my kid down, he immediately starts running and even though I don’t expect a 17 months old to pay too much attention, my kid isn’t even aware I exist and when I go to pick him up because I can’t handle chasing after a running toddler, I GET THE TANTRUM FROM HELL. I pick him up and he starts screaming and tears are running down his face. If you’re not paying attention he will hit you. The other day I carried him out of a store, not sitting on my side like usual, but I held him horizontal with one arm so he could kick and hit without hurting me. I just scooped him up. (I picked up him because he was having a tantrum in the middle of the store while he was laying on his back kicking and flinging his arms.) I try and hold his hand when we’re out but 80% of the time he tries to yank his hand out of mine and when I hold on a little tighter, he falls to the ground and has yet another tantrum. I try and keep him in a stroller at all times in stores because once he’s out he’s OUT and running. Putting him back in the stroller is another tantrum, which these tantrums don’t last long, but he’ll sit up in the stroller and fling his head back and bang it off the stroller…. repeatedly. Yes, when he’s mad he occasionally bangs his head off the floor or wall.

Quick rundown on my son. He doesn’t talk. He says dada but not to dada, I don’t even know the last time he said mama, he waves bye and at first he was saying two syllables while waving so I assumed he was saying bye bye, he’ll say “all done” and put up his arms and that’s about it. He points to objects and will get certain things if you ask. I’ve been signing “drink” for 2 or 3 months but he has yet to catch on, and I sign it every time I give him his drink or when I ask him where his drink is.

So I know not being able to talk or sign is an issue. I just don’t know what to do when these tantrums happen in public or how to reduce these tantrums. My son seems so active, like a ball of energy. I need some sort of advice here. My nieces when they were little never like this so I’m in a loss on what to do.

What do I do?

Horrible stories book series

Horrible stories book series

Existing: 2001 – 2004

(Series closed)

Description: 90 016

One of the many “horror” series intended for middle-aged children. Small in volume works with stories about vampires, witches, ghouls, ghosts and cemeteries that are very popular among teenagers.

The series was started with Edgar J. Hyde novels, one in each edition. This is the only foreign author in the Horrible Histories collection, and the author is very mysterious, since there are no biographical data on this person in the available sources.

All works in the series are independent, and only the stories of Yemets form a cycle.

Designer D. Sazonov.

All paperback editions in standard size 84×108/32 (130×200 mm) with internal black and white illustrations.

The books in the series are arranged alphabetically by author.

Terrible “titushki” – MK

Policy

Subject: New Ukraine

16681

Share

The topic of “pro-government provocateurs” – the so-called “titushki” – is currently topical on Ukrainian opposition websites. No one discusses the radicals who are testing the new composition of the Molotov cocktail at Berkut, which causes chemical burns. Everyone is talking and telling each other rumors about “thousands of titushki” hired by Yanukovych for provocations in Kyiv.

Photo: RIA Novosti

Even the opponents of the Maidan told the MK correspondent that they were taken in groups to Kyiv. Local information feeds are full of messages like: “Five buses with “titushki” were seen on the outskirts of the city … A thousand “titushki” are moving in formation along Pechersky Spusk … “Automaidan” defeated the camp of “titushki” in the forest …” Reading these messages, involuntarily you begin to shudder at these approaching “armies of zombies” who, on the orders of the authorities, are ready to stifle a peaceful protest and discredit the bright image of the Maidan in the eyes of the world community.

If it were not for the video footage posted on the Web by the fighters against the “titushki” themselves, one could believe in these armies of infiltrated Cossacks. There are no shots anywhere of how the “titushki” smash something or beat someone. But there are shots of a shabby boy, squeezed into a corner by three heroes in helmets, babbling something about 200 hryvnias, for which he agreed to go to the park to stand up for power. “Tell the truth!” – growls “hunter for titushki” and shines a flashlight into the boy’s eyes. The boy cringes, not knowing what “truth” will suit the fighters against evil. Well, what does the “titushki” have to do with it, who, according to legend, are bandits-athletes hired for forceful provocations? Another video shows how homeless-looking “titushki” captured in the city repent of their sins before the people of Ukraine and show the weapon that their “employers” supplied them with – something like children’s hammers for a xylophone.

On Wednesday, opposition websites spread information about a new victory of the “self-defense” forces over pro-government provocateurs: they allegedly managed to identify a large base of “titushki” in a hostel on Shcherbakov Street. The leader of the group, who was taken to the Maidan, said that the young people, in particular, came from Poltava and Kremenchug. Rooms were rented for 100 people. Another four young people were seized near the Arsenalnaya metro station. They were taken to the revolutionary headquarters for a “talk”. One said that he and his friends had come from Cherkasy to visit his brother just to walk around Kyiv. However, the vigilant activists who conducted the conversation checked his fists. It turned out that the bones, like those of any martial artist, were knocked down. That is, now any fighter, petist or homeless person who is not standing on the Maidan and not throwing “cocktails” at the “Berkut” is automatically equated with “hiremen of power”. If there was at least one frame of how “titushki” are caught at the scene of a crime, it would be much more reliable and convincing than this stream that flooded the networks.

Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said in general that protesters from the Maidan are capturing civilians. “At night, terrorists from the Maidan broke into hotels, captured several citizens whom they consider their opponents, and severely beat them,” he said at a government meeting. “Participants in these riots cannot be called peaceful protesters and protesters. These are criminals who must be held accountable for their actions,” the prime minister said.

And political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky generally believes that the opposition could have hired “titushki”. “These “titushki” do not in any way pull on the militants, they are rather frightened pets. I’m not going to say anything, but everything looks like a provocation from the opposition, in order to show everyone later: they say, the militants have repented, and incite the people of Kiev against the authorities, who allegedly send rioters into the city, ”he says.

19 Creative Ideas for Camp Theme Days

Great camp theme days transform a camper’s experience. Not everyone will remember what they did on the third Monday of camp. But, if that Monday was Backward day who could forget that ocassion?

Fun themes stick in campers’ minds and help build your camp’s community spirit. At reunions, memorable theme days inspire stories that start with: “Hey, remember that time…”

Chances are you and your campers have your favorite camp theme days. But there might be a few you’re looking to replace and spice up with a new, novel theme. Hopefully, these 19 ideas help get the creative juices flowing!

States Day

Summer camp provides young people with a chance to explore new places, but you can bring even more adventure by extending this exploration beyond your camp’s welcome gate. Take campers on a tour of the sights, sounds, and oddities of different states across the US. You can choose states near your camp or one that’s further away. If you run a sleepaway camp, you can choose the states where your campers live. Set up a variety of activities and stations around camp, one for each state. Here are a few ideas:

  • Change Your Menu – Every state (or region) has its own unique cuisine. Spice up your menu with some hometown favorites.
  • A Visit from State Icons – Who (or what) are your state’s icons? For instance, in Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil might make “appearances” at your camp.
  • Landmarks – Teach campers about different states’ landmarks and then give them fun supplies to build miniature versions.

Shark Week Day

Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week” is more popular than ever. Integrate shark-related activities during a Shark Week-themed day.

  • Race the Shark – Dress up a counselor (or swim instructor) in shark garb, and see which campers can give the shark a run for its money.
  • Shark Tooth Crafts – There’s nothing quite as pirate-y as a shark tooth necklace. So let your campers inspire their inner pirates with faux shark tooth crafts.
  • Shark trivia – Research some fun facts about sharks, split your campers into teams and see who can guess the right answers.

Shark Tank Day

Do you have any future inventors at camp? Let them flex those entrepreneur muscles during a Shark Tank day. Organize groups of inventors and give them the chance to brainstorm ideas to pitch at a Shark Tank-style pitch meeting.

  • The Marshmallow Challenge is a simple team-building project. Teams get 20 dry spaghetti noodles, a yard of tape, and a marshmallow to try and build the tallest structure.
  • Showcase history inventors by dressing counselors up as famous inventors and let campers explore each innovator’s contributions.
  • Encourage campers to invent solutions for real-world problems, then see which ideas can make a deal in Camp Shark Tank.

Farm-to-Table Day

Some camps have rural locations that provide a haven for campers to get back to nature and are in close proximity to food growers, which makes these the perfect place for local food explorations.

  • Get Dirty in the Garden – A camp garden is a living, breathing classroom. Make it a camp community project, and have campers plan and tend to the garden. (Just make sure you’re planting fast-growing veggies, so they can appreciate the fruits of their labors. )
  • Taste “Local” at the Farmer’s Market – Is there a farmer’s market nearby? Go on a food scavenger hunt and see what your campers find.
  • Let Your Camp’s Master Chefs Compete – Split campers up into groups and have them create restaurant-worthy dishes. A twist: They only have an hour to create a dish – and they won’t know what ingredients they’ll be using.

Your Wildest Adventure Day

Bring the adventure to camp with extreme sports races, adventure field trips, and themed activities.

  • A Race with a Twist – Let teams try all the adventure sports during a canoe/hiking/ropes course/mountain biking race.
  • Go on an Adventure – Are you near a whitewater rafting, rock climbing, or cliff diving hotspot? Take a trip and let campers loose.
  • Take an Overnight in the Woods – A backpacking trip – now that’s an adventure.

Backward Day

Run your camp day in reverse! Teach songs with backward lyrics, and have campers wear name tags with their names spelled backward. There are hilarious ways to do so many activities in reverse. You can play sports where the fewest points win, have slow races, and eat meals with dessert first.

Beach Day

Some camps are lucky enough to be near a beach, but many others are not. That’s no worry—the beach is a state of mind. Blow up some beach balls, find a spot to catch some rays (preferably near water), and enjoy some fun in the sun.

  • Sand Sculptures Competition – There’s no need to call in a truckload of sand. All you need is a bucket or two for your campers to create sand sculptures.
  • Bonfire on the “Beach” – Host a bonfire near the water with Hawaiian-inspired treats. Have some Hawaiian shirts in the costume closet, too? Pull ’em out!
  • Call in the Lifeguards – Get your counselors to inspire the spirit of the day, by dressing up in SoCal lifeguard-inspired costumes.

Treasure Hunters Day

Does your camp have any legends of hidden treasures? Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start one. Excite your campers and spend a treasure-themed day in search of amazing finds.

  • Scavenger Hunts Galore – Send campers on a scavenger hunt around camp in search of treasures of nature.
  • Geocaching for “Treasures” – Set up a geocaching course and let your campers put those GPS units to work.
  • Pirates Make an Appearance – Counselors can take to the High Seas and dress up in pirate garb. Hey, and after dinner, maybe someone’s unlucky enough to walk the plank (into the lake).

Obstacle Course Day

Here’s a team that’s one part athletics, one part friendly competition, and a whole lot of fun. Let campers spend the day completing obstacle courses. Build fun (and safe) courses and have teams compete for the title.

  • Try Out Martial Arts – Give campers a morning wake-up with Tai Chi to get into the spirit of the day.
  • Encourage Team-Building – Build courses designed for relay teams, so everyone can get in on the fun.
  • Make Mini-Courses – Provide supplies

Dancing with the Stars Day

Let campers explore their choreography creativity during Dancing With the Stars Day. Host dance workouts, play Dance Dance Revolution, teach popular dances through history, and let groups compete to put together the most compelling routine.

  • Hip Hop Abs – Host a dance-inspired aerobics class for your campers.
  • Counselor Dance-Offs – Which counselor has the best moves? You’ll find out during the Counselor Dance Off.
  • Dancing Under the Stars – End the day with an outdoor dance party where campers can show off the moves they’ve learned.

Escape the Day

Escape rooms engage campers’ problem-solving skills like nothing else. And an added bonus: They’re tons of fun. So create an escape room (or two) and have teams compete to see who’s the slyest of them all.

  • Puzzle the Competition – Get everyone warmed up with some morning riddles, brain-benders and problem-solving puzzles.
  • Escape the Sun – Take the “escape” theme to the next level with a relaxing indoor yoga session.
  • Escape Room Ideas – What will your room’s theme be? How about escaping from zombies, defusing a bomb, solving a crime, or escaping from a haunted camp bunk?

Camp’s Got Talent

Take your camp talent shows to new heights with a Camp (Name)’s Got Talent day. Host fun, friendly competitions throughout the day, and hold auditions for your “talent” show. Then, feature the big reveal at the end of the day.

  • Hold Auditions – Let each act show off what they’ve got, and then let crowd response determine if they’ve got what it takes to move on.
  • Counselor Talent Competitions – Inspire friendly competition with a dinnertime staff talent show.
  • Host Your Talent Show – At the end of the day, turn camp into the set of America’s Got Talent, and then feature the day’s best acts in a battle for the most talented camper.

Halloween Day

Halloween is a great holiday, but there’s no need to wait until October to get in on the fun.

  • Give campers all sorts of supplies and encourage them to create their own costumes
  • Make healthy snacks and do cabin trick-or-treating
  • Create a haunted camp and have campers travel in groups to see if you can scare them
  • Sit around the campfire and tell scary stories

Full Moon Jamboree

City-dwelling campers might not get to see the stars back home. During this astronomy-themed day, give them a chance to experience and learn about what’s above. One hint: Choose an event like a full moon or meteor shower to get everyone excited.

  • Dance Around the Full Moon – Celebrate the full moon around the campfire, and see if any werewolves show up.
  • Take a Moonlit Hike – Take advantage of the extra nighttime light during a moonlit hike.
  • Learn About the Constellations – Teach your campers about constellations during the day, and then see who can point out the most at night.

Survivor Day

Split your camp into groups and let them compete during a Survivor-like competition. Obstacle courses, puzzles, and team-building exercises all are perfect for Survivor Day.

  • Give Your Group Names – Each team should have a chance to name themselves, and be sure each team has a color.
  • Obstacle Courses and Relay Races – Get each group involved with team-oriented races and courses.
  • Hold Meetings –  Review the day’s highlights and give prizes and awards to the tribes who’ve earned the most points throughout the day.

Art through the Ages Day

Today, camp is all things art. Campers get a chance to put their creativity to work. So come up with fun projects that enable campers to express themselves.

  • Hold a Paint and Sip – Open a fruit smoothie bar, and let campers have their own paint and sip event.
  • Organize Groups by Movements – Group teams according to artist movements – cubists, impressionists, pop artists, surrealists and expressionists – and have counselors dress in costumes that represent the movement.
  • Creating Found Art Collages – Encourage your budding artists to create collages that represent themselves – the catch: they can only use materials found around camp.

Fear Factor Day

Fear Factor hasn’t been on the air for years, but it still makes for a great themed day at camp. During Fear Factor Day, campers get to face their fears during fun-themed competitions and challenges.

  • Host a Haunted Campfire – Tonight is the perfect night for campfire ghost stories.
  • Touch and Taste Your Fears – Fried mealworms, crickets, and other bugs – give campers a chance to eat bugs.
  • A Spooky Obstacle Course – Organize an obstacle course that features freak-out elements, like counselors that jump out and high ropes elements.

Camp Hollywood

Turn camp into Hollywood and spend a night with your camp’s stars. You might host a camper-created film festival, a red carpet event, and “celebrities” might show up at mealtimes.

  • Let the Paparazzi Loose – Give a staff member (or photo-buff camper) the chance to go full TMZ and snap candid shots of your camp’s celebrities. Before the film fest, host a red carpet event and let campers pose for the paparazzi.
  • A Floating Film Fest – Take your film fest poolside with a floating movie screen. You can even showcase movies created by campers during the event!
  • Staff Impersonators Get a Chance to Shine – At lunch and dinner, the celebrities should show up. Play a game of Celebrity Jeopardy, if you’ve got enough “movie stars” on staff.

A Day of Mindfulness

Spend the day learning the art of mindfulness. Meditation, yoga and pilates, mindful eating and empathy – all skills your campers will be learning during this relaxing day.

  • Start the Day with Sunrise Yoga – Hire a yoga instructor who can lead your campers on guided yoga sessions. And set up the class in unique and inspiring locations, i.e. lakeside or in the middle of the woods.
  • Give Guided Meditation Lessons – Today, teach your campers how they can relax and unwind with guided meditations. In small groups, have counselors lead visualization and meditation sessions that seek to calm the mind.
  • What Are You Grateful For? Have campers create collages and artwork that show thankfulness.

Time Traveler Day

Every camp seems to host decade-themed days – the 60s, 70s or 80s, for instance. But what if you could pack them all into one? You can with a time traveler theme.

  • Let Your Counselors Travel Through Time – Have counselors change costumes throughout the day, depending on the period of history campers have entered.
  • Host Staff Skits to Highlight Each Era – Are you entering the Roaring 20s? Staffers might host a Gatsby-inspired skit that brings the history of the 1920s to life.
  • Capture the Flag History – Create a capture the flag game based on a historical era – the Age of Pirates is great.

Camp Theme Days Are The Most Memorable Part of Camp, Make Them Count

A great theme can create memories that last a lifetime. But sometimes, those themes you’ve been using summer after summer has overstayed their welcome. Keep things fresh with a new theme. Hopefully, these 19 suggestions give you some ideas.

Before sending a child to summer camp, it is important to make sure that he is independent and ready to be separated from his parents. About how to determine that a child will “survive” in a children’s camp, Life told clinical psychologist Irina Korzhaeva.

So, it is important to make sure that he can take care of his own hygiene, wash, wash, and even better, comb his hair and use deodorant. It is also important that the child can choose food and clean up after himself, knows how to act in case of falls and bruises, who to contact if something suddenly hurts and does not try to escape in difficult situations.

The psychologist is also sure that a child ready for the camp can wash his own clothes, occupy himself in his free time and does not seek approval from his parents. It is also important that he knows how to find a common language with other people and can easily get involved in social events.

“The key to a good summer camp is the readiness of parents and children to separate. This is not a one-day preparation, this is a natural separation of people with a healthy psyche, where there is no place for hyper-custody, hyper-control and dependence, ”concluded Korzhaeva.

Pediatrician of the Hemotest laboratory Nadezhda Almasri told that before sending a child to a children’s camp, first of all, you need to make sure that the organization of recreation is safe, as well as that the child is emotionally ready for the trip.

How to collect a child in a children’s camp.

In Orange

Getting ready for a children’s camp is like solving a complex math problem.

  • What things will be enough?
  • How to take everything you need in a small travel bag?
  • What can a child do without, and what will he simply need during a vacation?

Knowledge and logic will help us answer these difficult questions.

Outerwear

Everything here, of course, depends on the duration of the shift, the season and the region where the child goes to rest.

Nevertheless, jacket (warm winter or light summer) is always needed! The weather is a wayward young lady, so even in the hottest country she can bring surprises. It is best to choose a waterproof jacket and MANDATORY with hood . In the event of unforeseen rain or the loss of a hat (a very common occurrence), a hood can at least somehow protect against bad weather.

In the cold season, a pair of waterproof warm trousers will come in handy for walking and playing outside.

The minimum quantity of all other clothing is one piece: trousers/jeans, skirt, warm jacket, long-sleeved T-shirt, short-sleeved T-shirt, dress/sundress, shorts . However, you should always remember that active outdoor games and clean clothes are poorly compatible phenomena. Therefore, ideally, the child should have 2-3 changes of each item of clothing to ensure the opportunity to give something to the wash.

Underwear

This is where age and self-reliance play an important role.

Washed socks, briefs and small items in a large camp laundry can be irretrievably lost. And not all children are accustomed to self-washing.

In this regard, the stock of underwear at the rate of 1 pair for 1-2 days is ideal.

In addition, I advise you to give the child with you special mesh with a zipper for washing . It will not take up much space in your suitcase, but it will increase the likelihood that all socks from the laundry (if you still had to use it) will return with their pair.

Don’t forget about sleepwear . Let it be cozy pajamas with your favorite character or just a separate T-shirt or T-shirt.

Before leaving for a health camp, you need to make sure that the child remembers that dirty and clean linen should be stored in separate bags!

Shoes

Outdoor and indoor footwear is the minimum requirement.

In summer, sneakers (for sports and active games) and sandals / sandals for quiet walks will be enough on the street.

In cold and rainy weather, make sure that the child’s shoes are warm and 100% waterproof or super-quick-drying. Otherwise, you will have to bring 2 pairs of street shoes with you.

Don’t forget about rubber slippers for the shower (and the beach). Otherwise, the child will try to go to the shower in fluffy slippers for the house or sneakers.

Accessories

Headgear the child should have with him during any holidays. In summer – for protection from the sun, in winter – from bad weather and colds. It is very important that the child himself likes it. Otherwise, dozens of reasons will be invented not to wear it, up to an “accidental” loss.

In cold weather, scarf and mittens/gloves are also needed. The latter are better with a margin.

Smart clothes

Discos and celebrations are an integral part of the program of any children’s camp. Let the child have the opportunity to show off a little or feel the atmosphere of the holiday.

Personal care products

Standard set – toothbrush and paste, comb, soap or shower gel, shampoo, washcloth (quick dry), toilet roll . All supplements depend on the habits and needs of your child.

Many camps for children provide their own towels , so there is no need to bring it with you (this question can be clarified when buying a ticket). If this is not practiced in the camp, it is better to give at least 3 towels: a large bath towel and 2 smaller ones – for the face and for the legs.

Medicines

Medicines are a tricky thing. You can only give your child medicines that are essential for life (for example, in case of asthma).

It is better to give all other medicines to counselors or doctors who will monitor the timely intake and restrict other children from free access to medicines.

Money

It is also better to keep the counselors. They will most likely be able to control the child’s expenses, as well as prevent such an unpleasant thing as loss or loss.

The main question that always arises before parents is “How much money to give with you?”

Here everything is also individual. If the trip includes additional paid excursions, then decide with the child in advance where he would like to go, and issue a certain amount. Plus souvenirs.

If the children’s camp has a cafe or trips to a nearby store, give out enough money to buy a small amount of their favorite treats.

In general, for many children, the very fact of having money is more important than their quantity. Let the child have enough money to buy something, while the amount of money should not cause great envy among other children. This can lead to unpleasant consequences.

Technique

When deciding whether to give any equipment to a child in the camp, remember two things:

  1. The camp staff is not responsible for the loss of valuables.
  2. Game consoles, players, telephones, etc. most often they replace the child with live communication with children and interfere with him in the classroom, during games or nightly rest.

Most children are accustomed to a certain type of leisure: individual computer games, social networks, listening to music. The camp gives them the opportunity to participate in completely different processes that involve live interaction, building relationships “here and now.” Unfortunately, access to familiar phones or game consoles distracts and delays the child. And the teacher’s attempt to switch his attention to what is happening around him only causes irritation and anger.

In any case, the decision rests with the parents.

Other

Additionally, you can give your child a favorite toy, a book, an album for drawing, pens . In general, something that will allow him from the first days to feel more or less comfortable in the new conditions, and will also give him the opportunity to realize his hobbies, if any.

It’s good if the child has his own own cup with handle (not heated).

Scarborough Kindergarten Explosion – RussianWeek.ca

Posted on Friday, December 17, 2021 – 08:11 by romtim in Canada, News, Education, Incidents

Dozens of children were lucky enough to stay alive and unharmed after the explosion at the Scarborough kindergarten.

The incident took place Thursday afternoon at a children’s center located at 4679 Kingston Road East off Morningside Avenue.

During the explosion, the children were in a neighboring building, so they were not injured.

“The damage inside the kindergarten where the apparent explosion took place is significant and catastrophic. I don’t even want to think about what we would have seen here if these children and their caregivers were inside at the time,” said Jim Jessop, Deputy Fire Chief.

In the building where the explosion occurred, the windows were broken and the ceiling collapsed.

As a precaution, crews arrived and turned off the gas supply to him, but the investigation into what could have caused the explosion is still in the very early stages.

According to Jessop, the staff at the center should be greatly commended for handling the situation before the ambulance arrived.

Some adults received minor cuts from broken glass, but all avoided more serious injury.
