Who We Are

Inspiring Kids, Building Communities:

Our ambitious academic program exceeds Ohio Department of Education Academic Content Standards and our Montessori Method provides gentle instruction along the way to ensure our students are confidently ready for kindergarten.

In 2016, Young Explorers opened its Avon location to serve the families in this rapidly-growing area. Our facility features a shaded playground and up-to-date safety requirements of a new construction. Our Avon location is conveniently located right off the highway. Ample parking is available for drop-off and pick-up, or if you just want to stop in and say hi!

Our People

The Avon Leadership Team

We love learning. We love the freedom to think big, work together, and take risks.

Tiffany P.
Director

My desire for working with children started way back in first grade when I declared I wanted to be a teacher when I grow up. That was just the start of my passion for Early Childhood Education. I graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Child and Family Development. I have spent the past 15 years working in the Early Childhood field, first as a mental health case manager, specializing in behavioral health to most recently supervising two home visiting programs for children 0-5. As a Young Explorers parent myself, I have seen the growth in my child’s education and felt the love that he receives from the staff every day.

Meet the Rest of the Avon Team

Inside Our Avon Location

When you enter our Avon location, you will be welcomed into a brightly-lit and comfortable grand foyer. Our décor is warm and inviting, modeled after model homes built recently in the area. We proudly exceed state square foot requirements!

Our classrooms are designed to feel welcoming and age-appropriate. The nursery has warm lighting and a quiet crib area. Our toddler classrooms have child-size furnishings, a door leading directly to the playground, and window seats with built-in bookshelves. Our preschool classrooms have en-suite restrooms, built-in window seats and bookcases.

To give your child a well-rounded and engaging Montessori experience, we also have a tutoring room, music room, and indoor gym.

We have a commercial kitchen that our chef uses to prepare a healthy and delicious lunch that our students love.

Our Exterior Spaces

Our shaded playground has a dedicated toddler side and a side especially for preschool and school-age students. Both sides feature custom-built play structures, Pour N Play soft and clean playground flooring, a basketball hoop, a trike track, and a play lemonade stand. We also have a grassy area and place to plant a small garden.

At Young Explorers, we believe that children need to run freely and play with their friends, as well as be outside in nature. Every day that the weather is tolerable, our students go outside and have fun!

Safety & Security

At Young Explorers, we take the safety and security of your child very seriously. Each family has their own door code and all doors are secured. We use an app to check kids in and out, even between classrooms, so we know where every student is at all times.

Testimonials

See what parents and children are saying about Young Explorers!

  • I recommend Young Explorers to anyone with preschool age children in the area or anyone looking for an excellent school. Jacob likes reading, art activities, and playing with his friends in the large gym or outside on the playground. He was always independent but he has become even more so and his vocabulary has really expanded. He is very inquisitive and wants to know how everything works.

2 Small-Scale Daycares & Preschools in Avon, MA

Your family is unique to you, but some of your questions might not be. 😉 Here’s what most parents want to know when starting out.

What is NeighborSchools?

Hey there, nice to meet you 👋 We’re a new-ish startup that helps new-ish parents find daycare.

We know how hard finding good child care can be – especially for first-time parents. But really good care is what gives you the peace of mind to go back to work and feel confident that your child is getting the stimulation, socialization, and support they need to learn and grow.

So we created NeighborSchools to make this piece of parenthood a whole lot easier. We say “easier” because, let’s be honest, it’s still a big thing to figure out, but working together we can help you find some good options, understand the whole process, and choose a program you’ll feel really good about.

How’s it work?

Most first-time parents don’t know exactly what they’re looking for, so we created a simple survey that will ask you questions about your lifestyle, your daily routines, and your preferences for child care. We’ll then share 3 personalized recommendations that we think might be a good fit. We’ll also give you a timeline that maps out when we would suggest you start touring programs, choose a daycare, and pay a deposit to secure a spot. Your timeline is based on when you want to start care – so you set the pace, and you decide when you’ve found the right match.

Is there a cost?

Nope. Our daycare recommendation service is free for parents. The other half of our business is helping these small-scale daycares with software and services that handle all their administrative tasks, like online contracting, payment processing, and licensing requirements. Before NeighborSchools, services like these were only designed for large corporate child care centers, and part of our mission is to level the playing field for small, independent child care programs. That’s why we picked the name NeighborSchools – we’re all about making child care more personal, more human, and more equitable for the incredible individuals who do this work and care for our children.

How do I know if I’m ready to take the survey?

Generally, if you’re here, you’re ready. The survey lets us give you 3 recommendations to consider, but it’ll also help you better understand what factors to consider, and what questions to be asking right now. It’s simple things like where you live, your child’s date of birth, when you want to start care, and if you have any preferences around program philosophy or language of instruction. If you’re planning 6+ months ahead, it’s a great way to get started, and if you’re hoping to start daycare in the next 2-4 months, it’s definitely time to get started. Click here to start the survey.

How do I know if a daycare has openings?

Each program has a limited number of spots for each age range, so we need to know your schedule and child’s age before we can share availability. The survey covers these basics, as well as factors like drop-off and pick-up times to make sure that recommended programs fit your daily routine. Once we know your child’s age and schedule we can share rates and costs as well.

More questions? Text or email – we’re here to help.

We’re online Monday – Friday from 8am to 6pm Eastern.

About Avon

Every girl wants to look beautiful every day. To do this, you need to constantly take care of yourself, monitor the condition of the skin, and also use only high-quality decorative cosmetics and cleansers from trusted manufacturers.

Ideally, if at the same time they contain natural ingredients, vitamins and minerals that can positively affect all layers of the dermis.

You can find such cosmetics in every Avon catalog. When ordering any product, the buyer receives consistently high quality, a wide variety of products, as well as a favorable pricing policy.

Regular promotions and discounts on new products and already loved brands will help you to profitably purchase many of the company’s products. A permanent discount for distributors helps not only save the family budget, but also earn money by distributing proven products.

Avon Makeup and Care

Numerous Avon customers talk about the high quality of the make-up and care cosmetics produced by the company. Each catalog, which is published every third week, contains all the necessary hygiene products, as well as a large number of unique fragrances and series for the whole family.

Bright glossy pages attract attention not only by their external content. Scented pages allow you to at least briefly feel the aromas of both new perfumes and smells that have already become popular.

So, what kind of products can be seen on the pages? Firstly, it is, of course, a huge selection of all kinds of decorative cosmetics. In the Avon catalog you can find a variety of products that will help you look beautiful and well-groomed around the clock.

  • Foundations and a light makeup base can create an even tone.
  • Powder will fix the result and remove excess oily sheen.
  • Eye makeup will look bright and rich with a variety of pencils, eyeliners, shadows and mascara.
  • Numerous lipsticks and glosses of various shapes and textures can emphasize the juicy brightness of the lips.

All this can be ordered in any Avon catalog. Clients are especially pleased with the variety of colors and textures, among which you can easily choose the right one for you.

Avon clothing, bags and accessories

Also, with the help of Avon, it is possible to update the wardrobe of the whole family. The catalog contains various outfits that have a high-quality cut and a well-adjusted silhouette. The fabrics used for tailoring have passed all the necessary checks confirming the high quality.

Stylish accessories – women’s handbags and bijouterie will help to complete the look. For men, there is a section where, in addition to high-quality watches and a trimmer, you can find a stylized set of tools and a convenient device for playing on the phone. In addition, the Avon catalog contains a whole section of underwear for girls. Spicy and discreet models will be able to win the hearts of many beauties, and leave no chance for their gentlemen.

The children’s section is also a very necessary part of any Avon catalogue. Stylish things for kids made of natural fabrics will help you get your child ready for school or kindergarten.

Men’s line in the Avon catalog

Men, on the other hand, will be able to surprise their ladies with wonderful persistent fragrances, which are also widely represented by Avon. There is no doubt that even a very fastidious and demanding young man will be able to find a shade of smell that will suit his preferences. And permanent promotions and discounts will help you buy toilet water more profitably.

Perfumes – Fragrances

Women’s perfume collections are no less diverse. In the Avon catalog you can find both tart woody shades, and light floral aromas, and sweetish-heavy oriental scent motifs. The special formula of each product will ensure the brightness of the fragrance and its durability throughout the day. A detailed description of each toilet water will help you choose something really suitable.

If it is not possible to view the catalog, you can select the necessary products on the official website of Avon. Convenient interface design, division into the necessary product groups and product lines makes it easy to find the right product or just explore a wide range of products.

In addition to the usual sections in the header of the site, you can find promotional codes that give good discounts and lists of promotional products. This allows even an ignorant person not only to place an order, but to purchase goods at a profit.

For the prevention of visual impairment – exercise
“Peeping eyes”: with your eyes draw 6 circles
clockwise and 6 circles counterclockwise
arrows.

Didactic games in mathematics lessons

Didactic games in mathematics lessons not only captivates, makes you think, but also develops independence, initiative and will of the child, teaches to reckon with the interests of comrades. I want to talk about some didactic math games that I use in my lessons.

MBOU “Tonkinskaya secondary school”, elementary teacher
classes Toropova Galina Nikolaevna

“A child is not a vessel to be filled,
but a torch to be lit.” (François Rabelais)

Mathematics becomes the most difficult and, for some children, the least favorite subject in the first years of schooling. This is due to the fact that some children have not yet developed such functions of mental activity as analysis, synthesis, generalization, the ability to compare, classify, and differentiate. For the successful education of children, it is necessary at the very first stages to arouse their interest in educational activities, to captivate, to intensify their activities. One of the most effective means of awakening a keen interest in a subject is a didactic game.

The implementation of game techniques and situations in the lesson takes place in the following main areas: the didactic goal is set for students in the form of a game task; educational activity is subject to the rules of the game; educational material is used as its means, an element of competition is introduced into educational activity, which translates the didactic task into a game one; successful completion of the didactic task is associated with the gaming result.

Didactic game in mathematics lessons not only captivates, makes you think, but also develops independence, initiative and will of the child, teaches to reckon with the interests of comrades. Enthusiastic children learn the program material more easily, acquire certain knowledge, skills and abilities. Therefore, the inclusion of games and game exercises in the lesson of mathematics makes the learning process interesting, creates a cheerful mood among the children, helps to overcome difficulties in mastering the material, relieves fatigue and maintains attention.

Significance of didactic games:

  • significantly increases the cognitive interest of younger students;
  • the lesson becomes brighter, more emotionally saturated;
  • positive motivation for learning is formed;
  • Arbitrary attention develops, working capacity increases;
  • the ability to work in a team is formed

The place and role of gaming technology in the educational process, the combination of game and learning elements largely depend on the teacher’s understanding of the functions and classification of pedagogical games.

According to the nature of cognitive activity, didactic games can be classified into the following groups:

  1. games that require executive activity from children. With the help of these games, children perform actions according to the model (come up with numerical expressions, lay out a pattern, draw a figure similar to this one)
  2. games that require action replay. They are aimed at the formation of computational skills (“Mathematical fishing”, “Labyrinth”, “How to get to the top”, “Fill in the window”, “Determine the course of the ship”)
  3. Games that include exploration and creativity (Collect Circle Examples, Math Caterpillar)

According to the nature of the material used, didactic games are conditionally divided into games with objects, board games and word games.

According to the functions didactic games are divided into:

  1. educational;
  2. controlling;
  3. generalizing.

Educational will be a game if the students who participate in it acquire new knowledge, skills and abilities or are forced to acquire them in the process of preparing for the game. Moreover, the result of mastering knowledge will be the better, the more clearly the motive of cognitive activity is expressed not only in the game, but also in the very content of the mathematical material.

Controlling will be a game, the didactic purpose of which is to repeat, consolidate, test previously acquired knowledge. To participate in it, each student needs a certain mathematical background.

Generalizing games require the integration of knowledge. They contribute to the establishment of interdisciplinary connections, are aimed at acquiring the skills to act in various educational situations.

According to the number of participants didactic games can be: collective, group and individual.

Didactic games can be used at separate stages of the lesson, acting as game moments.

I would like to tell you about some didactic math games that I use in my lessons. I am currently working with 3rd grade students. The central theme of the mathematics course in grade 3 is the study of tabular multiplication and division. The technique requires that children not only know the table, but also understand the principles of its compilation, which make it possible to find any work. Computing skills, as you know, are acquired as a result of repeated repetitions of the same operations. To avoid monotony in working out tabular cases of multiplication and division, I conduct exercises in a playful, entertaining way.

I define the value of a didactic game not by what kind of reaction it evokes from children, but by how effectively it helps to solve a learning problem in relation to each student.

Choosing some didactic game for the lesson, I think over the following questions :

  1. Purpose of the game. What skills and abilities will be formed in the process of its implementation? What educational goals are pursued during the game?
  2. Is it feasible for students in my class?
  3. Will all children participate equally in the game?
  4. Summing up the game.

To conduct a didactic game in the lesson, if necessary, I make groups in advance so that each group includes students with both strong and weak learning abilities. In each group, I appoint a responsible person. As a rule, this is a student with good learning opportunities or the most organized one who can organize the work of the group.

I give oral exercises an important role in my lessons. In order to involve all students in this, I use signal cards. They help to discipline students and at the same time receive information about the assimilation of the material. With their help, you can do a lot of oral exercises in the form of a game.

In my lessons I use the following games.

Game “Yes. No.”

Examples are given on the board: 4×6, 8×3, 4×5, 7×3, 9×4, 5×6. I show cards with numbers. If the number is the answer, the students say “Yes” in chorus, then say the example 4×6=24. if the number is not the answer, say “No”.

“Live Math”

All students have a card with numbers from 0 to 9. I read an example (3 × 2). The student who has a card with the number 6 stands up or raises his hand. It is best to give examples for division, since single-digit numbers are obtained in the answers.

The game requires physical activity, so it can be done instead of a physical minute in the middle of the lesson.

“I won’t tell”

The game is structured like this: children count, for example, from 20 to 50 one by one. Instead of numbers that are divisible by, for example, 6, they say: “I won’t tell!” !«. I write these numbers on the board. A record appears: 24, 30, 36, 42, 48. Then, with each of the numbers written down, students name examples: 24:6=4, 30:6=5, etc.

This game contributes to the purposeful formation of attention switching mechanisms.

“Check Yourself”

I prepare cards on which the results of multiplication of any numbers, for example 18, are recorded. I show the card, and the students write down an example for multiplication with such an answer.

“Who is faster, who is more correct?!”

I distribute one set of numbers from 0 to 9 for each row of desks, so that one student in the row gets the number 0, the other 1, etc. I read examples (4×4; 9× 2 or 40: 4, etc.), and the children must quickly figure out how much it will turn out, and those who have the numbers 1 and 6 go to the board and make the number 16. For each example, a point is scored for the row in which the faster and answered correctly. The row with the most points wins.

The game not only helps to consolidate a certain computing skill, in particular tabular multiplication and division, but in the course of it the understanding of the local meaning of numbers is clarified – students need to stand up so that one number stands for units, the other for tens. Mixing places is seen as a loss.

Don’t let your friend down!

Two (four) students go to the blackboard at the same time. I read an example, for example: 6 × 7. I propose to make four examples of multiplication and division with the same numbers. The first student writes examples for multiplication, and the other – for division. If the examples are compiled and solved correctly, I applaud the guys for their coherence in their work. The entry on the board looks like this:

6×7=42 7×6=42

42:7=6 42:6=7

Example 7×6 =42 implies 42:7=6, 42:6=7.

“Divisible – not divisible”

I say different numbers, and the students clap their hands if the number is divisible, for example, by (4, 5) without a remainder.

“Collect the word”

The same number of examples are written on the board on the right and on the left. Two teams come to the board. On a signal, each of those called solves one of the examples and chooses among the prepared cards a card with a number corresponding to the answer of the example (a letter is written on the back of the card). The first team to make up the words wins.

In this game, interdisciplinary communication is also carried out, since dictionary words or words for any rule can be composed.

Silent

Examples for multiplication and division are written on the board. I show an example, the children on the cards are the answers. (Each student has a number set.)

“The best counter”

A circle with numbers is attached to the board. I give the task: to increase (or decrease) these numbers several times. Children write down answers in notebooks. This is followed by a check (the student who completed the task first reads the answers and everyone checks their notes.).

“In order”

Examples given:

8×3
3×2
3×6
7×3
5×3
3×9

Name the values of expressions in ascending (or descending) order.

“Circular examples”

I prepare cards with examples in advance, selecting them so that the answer of the previous example is the beginning of the next one. Each student in the same row receives such a card. It is very important not to make a mistake here! In the next lesson, these circular examples are given to the children of another row.

“Which row is better?”

Students in the first row ask questions to the students in the second row on the multiplication table (including cases of division). Then the students of the second row prepare examples for the children of the third row. On the board, I count the number of correct answers in each row.

“Which row will fly to the moon faster?”

I have 3 rockets cut from heavy paper folded in half. Each rocket has windows for the number of students in a row. In the middle of the rocket, I insert a sheet cut out along the contour of the rocket, and in the windows I write examples for multiplication and division. Students in each row quickly solve one example by passing the rocket to each other. We check the examples collectively. The rocket, in which all the tasks are completed correctly, “flies into space” first! I throw away the used sheets with examples and insert new ones. Tomorrow the rocket is ready to fly again!

Similarly, the games “Who will be on the mysterious island faster?”

“Chain”

Write on a board or poster.

I give the task:

  • find the last number if the first number is 18, 24;
  • find the first number if the last is 16, 72.

“Mathematical Dominoes”

Each student receives a card. It is divided into 2 parts: in the first part, an example for multiplication or division is written, in the second part, the answer to another task. The first student reads his example. The one who has a card with the answer to the sounded task calls this answer and says a new example. The next student answers and names his task, etc.

Math Lotto

All students take one card. I have 24 of them. The results of the multiplication table are written on them (4 answers each). I show the class a card with an expression, for example 5×3, and the guys on their cards cover the answers with circles. The winner is the one who closes all the numbers on his card first. Students make chips at a labor training lesson.

“Find a Pair”

3 students from each row come to the board in turn. Task: write the numbers in the boxes to get the correct equalities.

9×4 = ? +?

42 : 6 = ? —?

76 – 44 = ? X ?

27 + 27 = ? X ?

These are just some of the types of work in mathematics lessons that activate students’ activity.

My Project

We will love to start creating beautiful mugs, cups, and tumblers. We will love to have a classroom mug press to create for our staff and parents along with many others in our community. The items for the mug press will be so much fun for students to create something from their own creative minds. All the materials will help start us off with all our creative endeavors. To see students create and gift what they have created brings so much joy to the person receiving the gift but most of all to the students who created it.

Top rated for efficiency and transparency.

Naples Metro. Vanvitelli and Salvator Rosa stations.

Naples Metro is a unique building, a unique phenomenon. The first line was designed to connect the most important parts of the city’s infrastructure. The metro should connect the city center, its main areas with the station and the airport. The endless traffic jams of Naples, associated with the medieval layout of the city center, where it is impossible to increase the capacity of roads by widening them, force residents to prefer off-street transport. Now the construction of the first line of the metro is in full swing, the city center has already been connected to the station. In the foreseeable future, the line will be circular. In addition to line 1, there is also a light metro line – line 6, and also … there is another operator with its own metro – this is line 2. It even has a different logo, that is, in fact, there are two metros in the city !! However, only line 1 is thus a classic metro. It goes at a depth of about 40 meters – this is a deep subway. This decision is applied here for several reasons. Firstly, in the center there is a dense enough building to make the subway shallow, the streets are narrow and it is impossible to dig in an open way. Secondly, Naples is a very old city, its history spans tens of hundreds of years, which means that almost wherever you start digging, you will stumble upon artifacts of past centuries. But at a depth of 40-50 meters, of course, there are no artifacts anymore, this is below any cultural layer, however, this problem is very relevant during the construction of escalator slopes and stairways.
And this is one of the reasons why the construction of the Naples metro is very slow. For example, the Municipio station project was reworked more than 20 (!!!) times due to the artifacts found as a result of the work. Dozens of archaeologists are working on the construction of Naples metro stations. This is just one of the features. But the main feature of the Naples metro is the design of its stations. Now there is a trend in the world to create public spaces based on metro stations, large interchange hubs. The metro is no longer just a transport, where passengers only have to get to the station they need and that’s it. Now the subway should please passengers, some subway stations are becoming real magnets for tourists, they are becoming real attractions. Moreover, there is a renovation of old stations built 20 or more years ago. As an example, we can recall the Drassanos metro station in Barcelona, which was built in the late 60s, and much later was renovated by the architectural bureau ON-A; in Munich, old stations are also being renovated. But today is not about that. There is a brand new subway. The first part of line 1 is open at just 1993 year. In Naples, the task was originally set to make public spaces designed by famous architects and fill them with works of modern art. To understand, subways in Europe, especially newer systems that are recently opened, are very utilitarian spaces, with a minimal decorative component. In Naples, they did the opposite. And this allowed the local metro to declare itself. In many ratings of the most beautiful and unusual metro stations in the world … a station from this southern Italian city is sure to appear.
Today we will start to get acquainted with the stations of line 1 of the Naples metro. Let’s start with a diagram. As is customary in Europe, all urban rapid transit is plotted on the map. In this case, these are metro, light metro, city train and funiculars. The scheme also includes intercepting parking lots, a port and a railway station.

1. The first station in line is Vanvitelli. It opened as part of the first phase of the Vanvitelli – Colli Aminei section on March 28, 1993. Station architect Michel Capobianco. In 2004, the stations underwent a facelift as the “station of art” concept for central metro stations was adopted. The reconstruction was taken up by the same Michel Capobianco together with his son Lorenzo. There are no turnstiles at the exit, but there are such “meat grinders” at the entrance

2. Two stairs and an escalator lead to the platform from the lobby, and two escalators go up from the platform on the sides.

3. The walls are decorated with photographs by photographers Olivo Barbieri and black and white photographs by Gabriel Basilico. Naturally, these are views of the city of Naples.

4. A spiral with Fibonacci numbers above the escalator made of neon tubes. This is an installation by Mario Menz.

5. Looks cool. By the way, our architects also use the Fibonacci numbers as an element of the design of the metro station, for example, at the station. m. “Lomonosovsky Prospekt”, which will open soon. It is interesting that the escalator goes down and the stairs go up to the platform itself, they reach the intermediate floor, and from there a staircase descends to the platform, but the escalators lift passengers up directly from the platform level.

6. On the intermediate floor, continuation of the installation. There are some strange animals here, also with numbers from the Fibonacci number series.

7. Escalators from the platform have such enclosing arches. It’s funny.

8. Metal stars hang on the walls. These are the works of Gilberto Zorio. The stars, according to the author, are a good omen for a successful journey.

9.

10. This is how the passenger flows were separated and they do not intersect anywhere – excellent.

11. Station with side platforms and on each side at the level of the platform there are such mosaic panels by Isabella Ducrot. On the one side.

12. And on the other.

13.

14. The station itself is quite simply decorated. All the efforts of architects and decorators went to the lobby.

15. Everything is extremely laconic, The ceiling is not finished with anything, all sorts of communications go through it. It is painted black and not lit, so the whole filling is not striking.

16. That’s it, let’s move on.

17. Station Salvator Rosa. Let’s start with the lobby, it’s a pity it was already dark and I didn’t take a picture of it outside. But google-cats always come to the rescue, there you can see everything how it looks from the outside and even twist it to see it from all sides. A pavilion with tall arched stained glass windows. I wonder how it all looks during the day when the sun is out. As usual, a line of turnstiles at the entrance and before the toilet turnstiles. That is, you can use it at any time, for this it is not necessary to use an entrance ticket.

18. Above the escalator slope, the ceramic panel in the form of a curtain is the work of Enzo Cucchi.

19. On the left is this one… if we had it, it would be a tombstone, but it’s a fiberglass flower by artist Raffaella Nappo.

20. A very interesting diagram of the station hangs here. As you can see, the station has two ground vestibules. There is a cascade of 4 escalators and an elevator going to the station. Surprisingly, at our deep stations, elevators to the level of the platform are not made. Even on new ones. But this is quite possible. The Italians did it.

21. We even tested the elevator. It takes a long time, but brings us directly to the platform.

22. But let’s go down the escalators.

23. The predominant decoration in most stations in Naples is glass and stone. There might even be more glass somewhere. Surprisingly, even escalator tilt mills are lined with such a fragile material.

24. We go down below and there is already a stainless steel. By the way, in addition to two escalators, one up, the other down, there is also a staircase, so anyone who is bored can go down like this.

25. Two spans passed, one more remained.

26. To the right is a passage to the platform, and to the left – to another vestibule.

27. Another work of contemporary art. Written by Santolo de Luca. The picture is an overlay. Using the same technology, they wanted to make it at the metro station. “Fonvizinskaya” pictures in lamps on pylons, remember?

28. More contemporary art. The picture (or what is it?) is called “Hermaphrodite at the moment of self-fertilization.” That’s how it is, no more, no less.

29. Passage to another lobby.

30. And we continue to descend to the platform.

31. Salvator Rosa station opened on 14 April 2001 as part of the Vanvitelli – Museo section. The second lobby opened a year later – in 2002. The architects were Alessandro and Francesco Mendini. Deep station, as we’ve just seen. And surprisingly, it has a central hall, which is not typical for European subways. Finishing of the central hall – glass panels, stainless steel panels on the ceiling. There are only three passages to the side halls, one at the end of the platform where we are now standing, there, behind the back, is an elevator. Another passage at the beginning of the platform and one in the middle.

32. Elevator. Pointers show the direction, and a line diagram hangs above the aisles.

33. The end and passages are finished with small tiles.

34. Something like that.

35. So that the central hall does not look deserted, modern installations are also installed here.

36. Here is a very touching group of Fiat 500 babies. The Italian theme in the design of the station is traced again. Fiat 500 is one of the first city cars and one of the most popular models of the Italian company, and finally, it is just very cute. Cars are carefully covered with warm blankets. The installation is called “Metro safer”.

37. How nice.

38. Nothing else of interest in the central hall.

39. We drove here in the evening and there were practically no people.

40. The main color in the side rooms is red. Even the floor covering is red.

41. Interesting lamps, but for some reason they don’t light up.

42. Naturally, there are trash cans at the station, or rather, such things. In principle, from a security point of view, this is a good solution, since the packages are transparent and in which case you can see what was thrown there.

43. At the ends of the mosaic by Fulvia Mendini. There are 4 such round medallions, each side has its own mosaic. Pay attention to the fact that in the tunnel there is quite a normal “path” along which you can walk through the tunnel.

44. Mosaic from the other side.

45. Metro map and line map.

46. There is such graffiti on the road wall. This canvas is 50 meters long. It is interesting that this is a canvas (!!!)

47. A real work on canvas in the subway – it’s strong of course. Well, we end here. There will be more stations next time.

    Child Care FAQs

The national typical hourly rate in 2022 is $20. 00 per hour for nannies and $17.50 for babysitters. Rates can vary based on the child care provider’s experience, certifications, employment status, and travel expenses. When calculating the cost of child care, you should also account for the number of children they’ll care for and additional responsibilities like household tasks or homework help. Learn more about how to set competitive rates for attracting the best babysitters.

The best way to find child care near you is to post a job detailing your needs on Sittercity, which will be shared with our community of available babysitters and nannies. We’ll notify you when child care providers apply to your job, and from there you can proceed with interviews, background checks, and reference checks so you can find the perfect fit for your family.

You can find experienced and passionate child care providers near you to provide the best care for your child, either in-home or virtually. Child care providers can help families with managing strict schedules, transportation to activities, homework help, last-minute coverage, date nights, and more. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, live-in, or temporary care, you can count on Sittercity for finding passionate and experienced child care providers.

Families find trustworthy child care providers on Sittercity who are passionate about providing safe and enriching care for their children. Many providers report they are First Aid and CPR certified to provide the best care for your family. Babysitters and nannies have the option to complete regular background checks, and you can easily request a recent background check if they don’t have one or it is not recent. Families can also request to see professional references!

Our dedicated team also champions safety across our platform every day. Child care providers go through an identity verification process Berbix when registering an account. Some additional safety measures include Family Watchdog screening, babysitter and nanny reviews, and secure messaging.

Nannies and babysitters share the same primary responsibility of providing safe and enriching care for your child, but there are a few differences between them. Nannies are more commonly associated with regular work, whether full or part-time, offering daily or consistent care to a particular family. There are also several different types of nannies, including au pairs, house managers, doulas, live-in, and overnight nannies.

Babysitters, on the other hand, are typically hired for irregular or occasional work, either full or part-time. If you’re looking for last-minute care for date night, or the occasional few hours after school, a babysitter is a great best option.

Identifying the type and frequency of child care you’ll need is the best way to decide whether a babysitter or nanny is a better fit for your family.

Child care providers on Sittercity love providing enriching experiences for your children, and sharing their passions with them. They’re happy to participate in outdoor activities like sports, or indoor activities like music, baking, tutoring help, and art. Wherever your child’s interests lie, child care providers on Sittercity can engage them in a nurturing way.

Bay Area parents of young children still struggle to find childcare amid pandemic, inflation

Bay Area parents of young children still struggle to find childcare amid pandemic, inflation
    03:21

SAN FRANCISCO – Amid the pandemic and inflation, many Bay Area families with young children are still struggling to find childcare. The lack of available spots, along with the cost, has prompted many working women to quit their jobs.

Meet Lily Marquez and her kids – 5-year-old Mia and 6-year-old Jeremiah. These San Franciscans are among the many faces in the Bay Area of child care troubles.

For Marquez and a lot of other folks, it’s the one-two punch of high cost and no access.

Lily was a financial aid counselor at a local university — emphasis on was.

“I had to quit my job when Mia was born. I had to sell my home and move in with in-laws because I had to pick. I couldn’t afford working and then paying for childcare. The expense of childcare was probably $4,500 a month,” she told KPIX 5.

Even without a mortgage payment to contend with Lily never actually found room in a preschool for Jeremiah.

“I was on a childcare waitlist for a very long time with him. He never got childcare,” Marquez recalled.

Amie Latterman is the Chief Advancement Officer with the Children’s Council in San Francisco. The organization helps 20,000 families a year find and fund childcare.

Latterman said Marquez’s story is not unique.

“It can take more of your income to have two kids under five in childcare and preschool than it does to pay your mortgage or your rent. It’s actually more expensive than housing,” Latterman told KPIX 5.

She said the shortage of childcare during the pandemic forced many mothers out of the workforce.

“We haven’t seen all those people come back to the workforce yet, because the solution is not there yet. Childcare is not back,” Latterman said.

Things are a bit better for Marquez and her family these days. Mia and Jeremiah are in school, but she worries about what social and learning skills they missed out on staying home with her.

“I really wish there would be some legislation to help parents, families, single mothers, single fathers, grandparents — whoever has children. Childcare shouldn’t be a burden,” she said.

    • Residential Complex “Lights of the Gulf”: the 2nd stage of the regatta “BFA Cup “Lights of the Gulf” passed

    All news

The developer LLC “Dudergofsky project” received permission to build a general education school and a preschool educational institution on the territory of a residential complex.

The State Construction Supervision and Expertise Service of St. Petersburg issued a permit for the construction of a comprehensive school for 825 students with swimming pools and a kindergarten for 190 students with a swimming pool territory of the residential quarter “Lights of the Gulf”. The residential complex is being created in the Krasnoselsky district, on the first line of the coast of the Gulf of Finland and along the well-maintained embankment of the Dudergofsky Canal.

The construction of a school and a kindergarten, among other social infrastructure facilities, was originally provided for by the territory planning project, the complex development of which is carried out by CJSC BFA-Development represented by the developer LLC Dudergofsky Project. A school and a kindergarten will be built on the territory between Marshal Zakharov Street and Leninsky Prospekt, where the construction of houses of the III stage of the Ogni Zaliv residential complex is currently being completed.

The project for the construction of a school designed for 825 students was developed by order of Dudergofsky Project LLC, one of the oldest design organizations in St. Petersburg – JSC Scientific Research and Design Institute for Housing and Civil Engineering – LenNIIproekt. 3-4-storey school building with useful area 19.9 thousand sq. m. is designed for 33 classes for teaching 825 students. For younger students, there is a separate educational block for 300 students on the ground floor with its own entrance.

The school building houses the entire set of classes, classrooms and rooms for the implementation of the educational general education program. Including a sports block inside the building, consisting of 2 pools with bowls 25 x 11 m and 6 x 10 m (for younger children – with a bath depth of 0.6 to 0.8 m), a training and sports hall 18 x 30 m and 2 halls for physical education and choreography. In addition, the building has a canteen with a dining room for 413 seats, an assembly hall for 535 seats, a library with a reading room, and a medical unit.

A physical culture and sports block with artificial turf (stadium) and recreation areas will appear on the territory of the school site.

In the buildings of the school and kindergarten, conditions will be provided for the access of people with limited mobility.

Kindergarten and school will be put into operation in 2023 and 2024. respectively, and transferred to the city of St. Petersburg.

    3. The first kindergarten opened in the residential complex “Yasno. Yanino”

The first kindergarten opened in the residential complex “Yasno. Yanino”

On April 1, in the residential complex “Yasno.Yanino” from “KVS” a kindergarten began to work. Nine groups have been formed here: two nurseries and seven for preschoolers. So far, 180 children have received referrals to kindergarten. In total, 200 kids will be able to walk here at the same time.

The kindergarten was built by the KVS company. The bright building has become a real decoration of the residential complex. The facades depict colorful fairy-tale characters – horses in apples. Heroes with such an unusual color were not chosen by chance: the apple is the symbol of the Yasno.Yanino residential complex.

The garden provides everything for comfort, relaxation and development: bedrooms, rooms for games and training, medical office, dining room, music and sports halls. All the necessary furniture, things and toys were purchased by the KVS company.

The grand opening of the kindergarten will take place in April. The event is planned to be visited by the governor of the Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko and the general director of KVS Sergey Yaroshenko.

Residential complex “Yasno.Yanino” from “KVS” is located in the Vsevolozhsk district, a 20-minute drive from the metro station “Prospekt Bolshevikov”. Some of the houses have already been rented and occupied. There is a medical center on the territory, where doctors receive children and adults under compulsory medical insurance. There are also shops, bakeries, restaurants, an online order pickup point and children’s centers. The plans include the construction of two more kindergartens and a school.

Avoid stop topics: a psychologist told what not to ask a child after school

    • Lifestyle

What is the right way to talk to a student when he comes home after school? What questions should be asked to the child, and what is better not to ask and why? Psychologists explain.

After the end of kindergarten graduation, parents and children face a difficult test, including in terms of family relationships: is a school.

If in the first grade a child still willingly talks about how his day went, then by the middle school it is often impossible to get at least some information from him. And all because parents ask the “wrong” questions.

“Dr. Peter” talked to psychologists and figured out how to communicate with a student after school, even if he doesn’t really want to talk about school, and what to ask in order to get a guaranteed answer.

    Don’t ask questions directly

The selection of questions to talk with the child after school depends on many factors – age, character, temperament, etc. But there are some general tips.

    1. No need to ask questions about the school directly. Instead, you can ask how the day went, what interesting things happened, what the child liked or didn’t like. Questions like these can help a child talk about everything without pressure.

    2. Listen carefully and ask clarifying questions. Try to understand what worries him or makes him happy that he has learned something new.

    3. Avoid pressure and judgment. If the child does not want to talk about school, do not insist on it. Support him, let him know that you will listen to him when he is ready to speak.

    4. Show your interest and support. If the child talks about his hobbies and preferences, try to ask additional questions and show your interest. Support him in his hobbies and successes.

    5. Avoid criticism and reproach. If a child has not coped with a task or received an unsatisfactory grade, try to support him, listen, let him understand that mistakes and failures are normal, and in order to overcome them, you need to learn and grow further.

“A universal factor for building positive contact with a child is the ability to listen and support him,” psychologist Yulia Vatutina draws attention. It is necessary to show your interest and demonstrate a desire to help in any, even the most difficult situation for him “.

    Ask like this

Here are some questions to ask a student after class:

    • What did you learn today?

    • Which lessons did you enjoy the most and why?

    • Which lessons were the most difficult?

    • Who did you talk to at school today?

    • How did the changes go?

    • Is there any news from school that you want to share?

“It is important to remember that a child may be tired or irritated after a difficult day at school, so you need to communicate with him patiently and with understanding. You can also ask your child to talk about what he would like to do after school, such as play or rest, and help him organize this time, ”advises the expert.

    No questions

The psychologist notes that there are several questions that parents often ask schoolchildren, but it is better not to do this.

    • Why do you have such a grade?

    • Did you do your homework?

    • Did you fight with anyone at school? Did someone offend you?

“Also, do not ask questions related to relationships with classmates. If there is a feeling that something is going wrong, it is better to just ask a question about the problems and experiences of the child as a whole , recommends Yulia Vatutina. “These issues can cause a child to experience discomfort, shame, guilt, and other negative emotions and experiences that can negatively affect relationships with parents, as well as his motivation and interest in learning.”

“It is not worth asking a child after school the question “What was asked?”, if he is in elementary school, because the student’s attention is still scattered. It is better to rely on entries in a diary, chat or electronic journal. Do not ask the question “How are you?” – there is a great risk of getting a faceless answer, ”says psychologist Elena Burova.

How to communicate with your child after school: 3 right steps

    “Glad to see you!”
“It’s good that you’re already at home!”

    “How did you get there?”
“How long do you need to rest?”
“What would you like to eat/how hungry are you?”

“If your son or daughter is open and talkative, you just need to listen to them and read the information between the lines. The main thing is to periodically comment or clarify (that is, listen actively), says psychologist Elena Burova.

“Would you like help with… or can you do it yourself?”
“How many minutes in advance do you need to be reminded of…?”
“Tell me what you absolutely need to do today.”

The child does not go home after school

The child does not go home after school (he also goes to music school), he can come home at 17. 00-19.30, or we find him and bring him home. Once I went for a walk, found only by 22.00 hours. And they talked to him, and persuaded, and punished – nothing helps. Watch or phone in such cases turns off or leaves at home. The child is under guardianship, but in the family since 1.8 years. Lately late comes every day! I do not know how to influence, what to do?

    Hope

    Hope, hello.

It is important to understand the reason for what is happening. This is the only way to draw up a plan of corrective measures and count on efficiency.

To begin with, it is important to rule out psychiatric deviations. I strongly recommend that you consult a child psychiatrist for advice. Maybe. the child has problems of this order, and he will need medical help. If the pathology is excluded, then it is worth seeking a face-to-face consultation with a psychologist. The specialist will be able to identify the mechanism of such behavior and carry out appropriate work. You can find a list of free psychological assistance services on our Portal -https://www. ya-parental.ru/map/ But it is important to understand that efficiency is higher where not only the child, but also his family is involved.

The psyche always chooses those patterns of behavior that help it survive. These can be conscious or unconscious actions, they can be learned during life or “built in” genetically. But if such behavior already interferes, then it must be recognized and transformed into something new.

The same with your child. It is important to understand why he does this: what prompts him to such behavior, and most importantly, what gives him. Perhaps this is a way to get away from contact with you, a way to avoid conflict. Or so the child satisfies his need for attention and a sense of his own importance. Or maybe the reason is that the child has entered adolescence and so deserves approval among peers. By understanding what drives them, you can suggest different behaviors. It will be safer and more efficient. Otherwise it will not be accepted. And yes, the more diverse the arsenal of possible reactions to the same stimulus, the higher the adaptive properties of the psyche.

    TOP NOTCH BLOG

Top Notch is extremely responsive. To give you an idea – I contacted four different agencies on a Saturday morning to begin my search. Top Notch responded within an hour. The rest took either several days to get back to me or did not respond at all. The girls are very communicative and they adjust their approach and search to meet your exact needs. They understood exactly what we were looking for, was constantly in contact and made sure the entire process was seamless and smooth. My daughter absolutely loves our current nanny.  Amazing! Top Notch made our life easy and my parents life much better. Now my parents don’t have to watch my daughter all the time!
