Yes, we are fully licensed by the State of Michigan.

Teacher to child ratio = 1 teacher per 10 children.

After 3 months of attendance, children are allowed a certain number of sick and/or vacation days. After the allotted number of days has been used there is a fee for missed days. See full details here. We are usually open even if public schools are closed.

Please call our facility and let us know if you will be late to pick up your child. There is a $10 fee for every 15 minutes after 6pm. If your child is absent please call and let us know they will not be attending on that day.

Bethany has a recorded security camera system and an electronic door entry system that requires the use of a passcard for entry. An audio speaker and door buzz also allow our staff to better control access to the facility and check identification as needed.

All staff have been screened according to Michigan Licensing regulations. Fingerprinting and FBI background checks are completed.

Weekly lesson plans, themes and academic goals are used throughout the year. Contact us if you’d like to view a sample lesson plan.

We have not found a large amount of discipline problems to be present over the years. If necessary, we stress positive forms of discipline which usually means a child must sit out of a particular activity and have a “time-out” for a period of time. Recurring problems will be discussed with parents.

Toys, materials and high touch surfaces are sanitized daily and as needed throughout the day.

You can view a detailed fee schedule by clicking here.

One day he sees a man throwing a weak old man off a cliff. After he leaves, Jacob goes to the edge and finds a box with Elysium contacts on it. Interested in what happened before his eyes, Jacob goes to this firm. After a conversation with the manager, Jacob learns that this is a travel agency that provides unusual types of services.

Elysium works with clients who wish to go to another world. In the firm, you can choose different options for death. Jacob does not know what to choose, and eventually agrees to the “Surprise” option – he will continue to live a normal life and will not know when and how he will die. A little later, when choosing a coffin for himself, Jacob meets another client of the company, Anna, who also chooses a coffin for herself.

Jacob returns to his family estate and dismisses all the servants, including his keeper of the estate, Müller. Jacob then begins to wait to be killed. However, a few days pass and nothing happens. Then Anna calls him, saying that she is also waiting for death, but for some reason nothing happens to her either. Then Jacob calls Elysium, but there he is told to go about his daily business and wait.

Jakob finds Anna and invites her to go dancing with him. Anna is at first afraid that Jacob might be her “surprise”, but in the end she agrees anyway. As they communicate, Jacob and Anna realize that they have a lot in common. Soon Jacob invites Anna to his place. When they arrive at the family estate, Jacob’s lawyer asks him to urgently go with him to talk to the buyers of their estate. Anna stays to wait for Jacob, and then she meets Muller.

Müller tells Anna the whole story of Jakob’s family, including that Jakob became emotionless when his father went to sea on a ship and never returned. And Jacob’s mother, no matter how hard she tried, could not stir him up. Meanwhile, Jacob signs a sale agreement, but he has two days to change his mind. Jacob begins to think that he signed a contract with Elysium in vain, he fell in love with Anna and now wants to live. They, along with Anna, arrive at Elysium, Jacob goes to the manager and asks him to postpone his contract for a while, but he answers him that this is impossible. Right there, in the Elysium building, they try to kill Jacob. He manages to escape, after which he and Anna leave by car. They are chased, but they manage to escape.

Jakob tells Anna what happened. And she also thinks that it would be nice to postpone the contract. At night, Anna leaves the hotel room to get ice for Jacob’s bruised leg, but then the Elysium employees grab her and drag her outside. Here it turns out that Anna’s adoptive family is Elysium employees, and the manager is her adoptive father, it also turns out that Jacob is Anna’s client, and the father gives her time until the next morning to complete the work.

Early in the morning, Anna and Jakob go to Jakob’s hunting lodge to take refuge there. Anna has fallen in love with Jacob and doesn’t want to kill him. Jacob finds a gun and understands everything about Anna. He gets angry, but they eventually make up. Anna knows that the brothers are watching her and she fakes Jacob’s murder. Wraps his body in a sheet and goes to his father. On the way, seizing the moment, Jacob gets out of the car and goes to meet with the buyers to cancel the sale of the estate. But his lawyer wants to make money on him and does not cancel the deal.

As a result, Anna confesses to her family that she loves Jakob and will not kill him. The father agrees to take Jacob into the family, but then he must marry Anna, and also fulfill one order of their company. Jacob sues his lawyer and reclaims his estate. And his order turns out to be Muller. Jacob comes to Muller’s house and they start a conversation. Müller tells Jakob that he is glad that he has finally begun to feel.

Obese children are at risk of becoming heart disease

    2/25/2010

byte-force.com/schemas/LSD”> Obese children may show signs of future cardiovascular disease as early as 3 years of age. These are the data obtained by a group of American researchers.
They examined 16,000 children and adolescents and found that the most obese of them showed signs of a specific inflammatory indicator that could indicate a risk of future cardiovascular disease.
Overall, 40% of these children aged 3 to 5 had elevated C-reactive protein levels, compared with 17% of normal weight children.
However, further studies are needed to definitively prove a causal relationship.
The study, which was conducted at the University of North Carolina, was based on a study of blood samples taken from children aged 1 to 17 years.
Of these, almost 70% were of normal weight, 15% were obese, 11% were obese and 3.5% were very obese.
Among older children, the ratio of those who were in the category of very obese with high levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) was even higher.
By age 15-17, 83% of very obese children had higher levels of CRP compared to 18% of normal weight children.
CRP is also called acute phase protein. This is the most sensitive and fastest indicator of tissue damage during inflammation, necrosis, trauma.
Since cardiovascular disease is accompanied by inflammation of the walls of arterial vessels, CRP can be used as a general indicator of the risk of heart disease.
In adults, there is a clear relationship between high levels of CRP and the risk of myocardial infarction.
Study leader Dr. Ashley Cockrell Skinner, associate professor of pediatrics at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, said the results of this study of this group of children came as a surprise.
“We are seeing an association between weight and levels of inflammatory indicators at a much earlier age than previously thought,” he said.
Its co-author Dr. Eliana Perrin said that “this study shows that very young obese children show higher levels of inflammatory activity than normal weight children, which is very disturbing data.

Lack of morning light harms the sleep pattern of schoolchildren

    02/24/2010

Insufficient exposure to morning light negatively affects the quality of sleep of adolescents, American scientists have established for the first time. Schoolchildren spend a lot of time indoors and cannot get enough of the morning light needed to stimulate the body’s biological system that regulates wake and night cycles, according to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In addition to the fact that many teenagers go to bed very late, the quality of their sleep deteriorates significantly and schoolchildren are at risk of “night owl syndrome”.

In an experiment, several high school students were asked to wear special goggles to prevent shortwave or blue morning light from reaching their eyes. Also, schoolchildren went to bed half an hour later during 5 school days. If you block the intake of blue morning light in the morning, the body delays the activity of the hormone melatonin, which signals the onset of bedtime. The study found that melatonin’s work was delayed by about 6 minutes each day when schoolchildren weren’t getting enough morning light.

The problem, neuroscientists explain, is that today’s schools have strict attendance schedules – in most countries, children come to school early in the morning. In winter and spring, students reach or drive to school before they see the sunrise, and many leave the school already at an early sunset. Thus, the connection between everyday biological rhythms, also called the circadian 24-hour rhythms of the day, is disrupted. In addition, there is usually no proper electric light or daylight in schools to stimulate this circadian system responsible for our body temperature, alertness, appetite, hormones and sleep patterns. As the researchers say, our biological system reacts to light in a completely different way than the visual system – more sensitive. Clinicians add that disruption of the body’s circadian rhythm is fraught with long-term development of cardiovascular problems, diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and seasonal depression.

Positive emotions improve the functioning of the cardiovascular system.

Scientists conducted a study in which they studied the health status of 1700 people for 10 years. It turned out that the most depressed and often agitated people were at the highest risk of developing heart disease. The results of the study were published in the European Heart Journal.

The study looked at different factors that help people feel happy. It was possible to establish a relationship between a sense of satisfaction with one’s life and a decrease in the risk of heart disease in case of an increase in the indicator of positive emotions.

Scientists once again emphasized the influence of psychological state on physical health. The feeling of happiness and positive emotions often depends not on the circumstances of life, but on the attitude towards them and the inner mood. Therefore, everyone is capable of creating the most comfortable psychological conditions for themselves, the researchers emphasized. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide, making any form of protection essential.

Migraine doubles the risk of a heart attack In addition, migraines increase the likelihood of stroke and key risk factors for heart disease, including diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. According to the American physicians of the Albert Einstein College and the Montefiore Medical Center, migraine is not just headache attacks that affect the quality of life, but also a serious threat to general health. Doctors have proven that migraine leads to stroke and cardiac dysfunction in a wide age group of patients – from 18 to 80 years.

The study included over 6,000 migraine patients and over 5,000 healthy individuals. The frequency, severity and symptoms of headache were analyzed in conjunction with cases of cardiovascular disorders. People with migraine had a double risk of having a heart attack, and patients with migraine with aura had a threefold risk of having a heart attack. The results also determined that migraine increased the likelihood of diabetes, hypertension and blood cholesterol imbalances by 50% – in other words, all known risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The link between migraine and heart disorders could be speculated to be due to the malfunctioning of the inner layer of blood vessels, called the endothelium, inside and outside the brain. Cardiologists believe that people with migraine should be especially careful to monitor the manifestation of cardiovascular risk factors and lifestyle, namely: regularly exercise, quit smoking and address other health problems, if any.

There are two main forms of migraine: without aura and with aura. Both forms cause throbbing pain in the head, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine with aura has additional neurological symptoms such as vision problems. Migraine is most common between the ages of 25-55; Women develop the disease three times more often than men.

Regular consumption of sugary carbonated drinks leads to an increased risk of pancreatic cancer

    17.02.2010

People who regularly consume sugary carbonated drinks are at increased risk of pancreatic cancer, according to American scientists. This conclusion is contained in a study conducted by employees of the University of Minnesota for 14 years, observing more than 60,000 volunteers in Singapore.

According to research program leader Mark Pereire, “high sugar levels in beverages can increase the body’s production of insulin, which in turn is responsible for the growth of cancer cells in the pancreas.”

During the study period, 140 cases of pancreatic cancer were detected in 60,524 subjects. Those who consumed two or more 0.3 ml cans of sugary soda per week had an 87 percent increased risk of developing the disease.

Pereira believes the results of the study can be applied to many Western countries, where sugary carbonated drinks, like in Singapore, are consumed during meals and shopping.
Approximately 230,000 cases of pancreatic cancer are diagnosed worldwide every year. Over the past year, more than 37,000 people have been diagnosed with it in the United States.

Grandmothers’ care often leads to excess weight in their little grandchildren

    02/16/2010

peers under the supervision of parents and nannies, according to British researchers.

Scientists conducted a large-scale study in which they examined the data of 12 thousand children aged three years. It turned out that children who were cared for daily by grandparents were 34% more prone to obesity than children from the control group. Children who attended kindergarten or were with a nanny did not find an increased risk of becoming overweight. The results were published in the International Journal of Obesity.

The problem of childhood obesity is relevant for many developed countries. In the UK alone, a quarter of preschool children suffer from this disease. Obesity is a problem that is affected by a wide range of different factors, but nutrition is key in this chain. Excessive care of grandparents and lack of knowledge about the correct diet of children’s food leads to negative results for the weight and health of children, the scientists explained.

The better your appetite, the longer you will live

    15.02.2010

It was possible to prove the connection between appetite and mortality, especially in the elderly. It has been found that eating disorders significantly increase the risk of early death, nutritionists from Israel reported.

More than 300 people aged 70 to 85 took part in the study. It has been noted that the sense of appetite is able to predict death in old age, even after controlling for factors of general well-being and the presence of chronic diseases, as well as other variables. It was found that people with poor appetite died much earlier, even with normal health for their age.

Experts found that elderly people with a good appetite had a significantly reduced risk of death from all causes. Scientists still have not been able to explain how appetite can affect life expectancy. As an assumption, the version is considered that the feeling of appetite largely depends on the internal processes of aging, as well as on age-related hormonal changes.

    Chamomile helps with anxiety

    12.02.2010

Chamomile will save you from anxiety – a traditional plant from grandmother’s recipes, the medicinal properties of which have now been proven by researchers who have published a report on their work in the “Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology”.

In their study, American doctors decided to find out what effect chamomile has on anxiety syndrome by recruiting a group of patients with this disorder. Participants were divided into two groups: one received an extract from chamomile, and the second control received a placebo. Those who took chamomile extract experienced significant changes in the severity and frequency of anxiety symptoms, psychotherapists found.

Pharmacologists believe that chamomile is responsible for the anti-panic effect in people with mild anxiety disorders and could potentially be used as a treatment for anxiety. According to clinicians, many people suffering from excessive anxiety syndrome do not take their emotional state seriously as an illness, and therefore often engage in self-diagnosis and self-treatment – usually using alternative medicine. That is why they can be recommended a safe chamomile, which will help to cope with anxiety without the additional use of medication.

Smoking cessation doubles the chances of survival in patients with lung cancer Once they are diagnosed and quit smoking, they are twice as likely to survive for at least five years as those who continue to smoke.

Researchers have found that patients who decide to quit smoking after being diagnosed with early lung cancer double their chances of living for at least another five years. They noted that lung cancer, if detected at an early stage, is curable in 50-60% of cases. The problem is that very few cases – no more than 20% – are diagnosed at this stage.

Of course, the best way to prevent lung cancer is not to smoke at all. Experts note that among those who have never smoked, cases of lung cancer are much less common. The scientists who conducted the study decided to find out how quitting smoking can affect the course of the disease after the diagnosis has already been made. To do this, they studied data from ten open studies in which patients with lung cancer at an early stage of the disease took part. They calculated that among those who, after they were diagnosed, did not quit smoking, after five years remained alive from 29up to 33 percent, while among those who quit smoking, this figure ranged from 63 to 70 percent.

The researchers noted that lung cancer patients are not usually offered help to quit smoking, although some hospitals in the UK do. The results of the research work were published in the British Medical Journal.

Indoor smoke molecules can cause cancer

    09.02.2010

The remnants of tobacco smoke that settle on clothes, skin, furniture upholstery contain carcinogens, American scientists from the University of Berkeley reported.

Researchers conducted an experiment in the laboratory, in which they found that things and objects that are in a smoky room accumulate substances that cause cancer. Even if smokers smoke on the street, some of the smoke will enter the room with them upon their return, experts have established. The results of the study were published in the journal PNAS.

Smoke molecules interact with other air pollutants to form hazardous compounds that can cause cancer, the scientists explained. The researchers studied the cabs of truck drivers who are heavy smokers. It turned out that the level of carcinogens on the interior surface of the cabin was very high, exposing the driver to an additional risk of negative health effects in addition to the harm of smoking and inhaling tobacco smoke.

According to researchers, the danger of smoke settling on the surfaces of interior items, things, leather, car interiors and other things around us is underestimated today. However, this type of smoke exposure puts additional health risks for both smokers and non-smoking family members, as well as friends and acquaintances who come into contact with them. Scientists believe that it is necessary to ban smoking indoors.

    Psychologists recommend “treatment with hope”

    05. 02.2010

Psychologists believe that there are reliable methods for treating depression that do not require medication. A sense of hope is a powerful tool in the fight against depression.

“We have shown that the more hope a person has, the less often he falls into depression. It is important to note that hope is an experience that can be taught to people who need it,” says psychologist Jennifer Cheavens (Ohio State University, USA).

Jennifer Cheavens used a specially designed questionnaire to assess people’s hope. The concept of hope included two components: an internal “map” that helps to achieve the desired, as well as motivation and energy in order to move in the right direction.
“If you know how to get what you want out of life, and at the same time you have a passionate desire to achieve your goal, we can assume that you have hope,” says Jennifer Cheavens, one of the authors of the study.

Psychologists believe that hope and optimism are different concepts. Optimism is the belief that something good will happen in the future, while hope implies specific goals, a desire to achieve them, some plan for achieving them.

In one study, Jennifer Cheavens and Laura Dreer (University of Alabama) examined 97 patients with macular degeneration and other diseases leading to blindness. Psychologists assessed how hopeful and depressed the patients and their caregivers expressed.
As might be expected, the symptoms of depression in carers were directly related to the symptoms of depression in the patients themselves. Caregivers who scored high on the hope scale had fewer symptoms of depression, no matter how depressed their caregivers were. In addition, people with developed hope were more satisfied with their lives and felt less burden of worries.

In another experiment, psychologists have shown that it is possible to develop a sense of hope. Through newspaper ads and leaflets, they recruited a group of 32 volunteers. The announcement said that those who wish will be able to attend classes once a week to develop purposefulness. Psychologists specifically chose people who did not suffer from depression and other mental illnesses, but were not satisfied with their lives.

“People who want to use psychotherapy are not always sick. Many of them do not meet the criteria for depression and other mental illnesses. If you focus on their problems, it is difficult to achieve psychological progress. Hope-building psychotherapy helps people see and nurture their strengths. We do not focus on what exactly is well developed in a person, we just teach to reveal their potential, ”explains Jennifer Cheavens.

Half of the participants in the experiment attended classes where they were taught to set goals, look for ways to achieve them, and motivate themselves. As a result, volunteers who did psychotherapy, compared with the control group who did not participate in the classes, had reduced manifestations of depression.

“It turns out that hope can be developed. Hope-building psychotherapy is a way to learn from successful people. We understood what exactly helps hopeful people live, and created methods that will help people who are not so prosperous, ”say the authors of the work.

Wearing safety helmets reduces the risk of head injury among skiers and snowboarders by a third , experts from the Canadian Medical Association, Children’s Hospital of Alberta and the University of Calgary found out. An analysis of 12 studies conducted in Europe, Asia and North America found that the use of helmets in these sports is beneficial in preventing the risk of traumatic brain injury and head injury. However, the reviewers were unable to determine the role of design factors, quality and individually appropriate size of helmets for winter sports enthusiasts.

Skiing and snowboarding is one of the most popular winter activities in many countries. It is estimated that head injuries among skiers and snowboarders are as high as 19% and neck injuries as high as 4%. Serious consequences of traumatic brain injury are the leading cause of death and serious deterioration in health in this category of patients. Some experts believe that wearing a helmet, on the contrary, increases the risk of neck injuries in a fall, especially in children due to their small stature. However, Canadian traumatologists did not find confirmation of this opinion.

Research has shown that wearing a helmet while skiing or snowboarding reduces the risk of head injury by a third, preventing two to five out of every 10 injuries. The results of the review allow clinicians to encourage the use of helmets in recreational snowboarding and skiing.

The sun came out of a three-year “hibernation” and entered a new phase of activity – British scientists

    02/03/2010

The unprecedented period of unusually low solar activity that lasted for about three years is over. As the leading British scientific astrophysical center Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (Oxfordshire County) reported on Tuesday, data on the appearance of numerous spots on the Sun have been received this week.

“The world science breathed a sigh of relief, the Sun came out of a period of long “hibernation”, mysterious for scientists, – said Professor Richard Harrison of the Laboratory.

In the middle of 2007, our luminary completed a period of increased activity, accompanied by a powerful and frequent perturbation of magnetic fields /sunspots/, as well as giant ejections of hot plasma into outer space. Then, during 2008 and 2009, the Sun showed unusual passivity – during this period, 250 days were recorded when no spots were noted on it. This has not happened since 1913.

A number of scientists hypothesized that the Sun is rapidly cooling down and the inhabitants of the Earth should prepare for new and unprecedented natural disasters.

However, this week satellites have received data on the resumption of solar activity. Everything suggests that a new cycle of solar activity has begun, which will peak in 2012, Professor Harrison said.

The use of the pronoun “we” helps spouses resolve conflicts in relationships, psychologists have noticed more likely to successfully cope with interpersonal conflicts, American psychologists at the University of California noticed. The experts analyzed conversations between 154 middle-aged and older couples and found that those who frequently use the pronouns “we”, “our” and “us” are more positive about resolving conflicts in a relationship and experience less stress due to quarrels. In contrast, couples where partners emphasized their independence by using the pronouns “I”, “me” and “you” more often were less satisfied in their marriage, especially older men and women. Among older spouses, the use of isolated pronouns is most strongly associated with unhappy marriages.

In addition, older couples were found to be more likely to talk about their marriage using the pronoun “we” than middle-aged couples. It has been previously recorded that the simple word “we” also helps young lovers maintain a happier and more harmonious relationship. When partners in a relationship do not try to define their individuality, but rather seek to show the commonality and inseparability of goals, this indicates a better mutual understanding, a better ability to resolve differences, identical emotions and physiological reactions that are expressed in ordinary conversation. The pronoun “we” in the family emphasizes that the family is primarily a team where partners are confident in each other and are able to confront problems together, psychologists say.

Green tea will protect against many diseases

    01.02.2010

American researchers from the University of Iowa.

Scientists conducted a study in which they studied in detail the effect of green tea on the human body. It turned out that rich in powerful antioxidants (polyphenols and catechins), green tea perfectly fights free radicals that accumulate in the body and lead to premature aging and the development of age-related ailments. Also, experts say, free radicals, accumulating in the human body in a critical amount, can even lead to the development of cancer. Healing green tea is also good for the skin, as it prevents the appearance of wrinkles, which also occur due to an excessive amount of free radicals in the body.

The researchers added that the polyphenols found in green tea inhibit the production of bacteria that cause bad breath, strengthen gums and protect teeth from decay. Moreover, scientists believe that regular consumption of green tea can prevent tooth decay.

Green tea can also help fight ailments such as rheumatoid arthritis, colds, stress, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney and liver disease, experts say.

Zach Harrison was the embodiment equanimity. Nothing could piss him off.

Even today’s snowfall in Denver, which was something out of the ordinary at this time of year, he considered more of a scenic addition to the landscape than an inconvenience. Today’s failure is another challenge, not a reason for anger. Deciding that effort was needed to achieve his goal, he put on his overcoat, thanked the concierge, and took the briefcase. He just needs to become more… resourceful is the right word.

The press tested his patience in every possible way. The article that came out last month was ridiculous. In it, he was exposed as a monster who dispossessed poor families in order to expand his “evil empire.” The author of a recent note questioned his decency towards an aspiring actress with whom Zach had been dating for some time. In fact, he treats all women with respect without exception. She and Ellie agreed from the very beginning that their romance would be temporary, not binding. That she wouldn’t threaten him, which would ruin his reputation if he didn’t give her an engagement ring. In any case, blackmail would not have worked. Unlike the other Harrisons, he didn’t care what people thought of him.

However, when he left the hotel on this afternoon in April and got into the cabin of a taxi waiting for him, his calmness vanished in an instant. For some time he stared in amazement at his unusual companion, after which he leaned forward and tapped the driver on the shoulder.

    – Your previous passenger forgot something.

    He turned around:

    – Wallet?

“No,” Zach replied. – A child.

The next second, another rear door opened and a woman in a cherry-coloured hooded coat climbed into the car. Putting a bag of the same color on her knees, she slammed the door and breathed into her frozen palms. Only after that did she realize that there was someone else in the car besides her and the driver, and she shifted her curious violet eyes from the basket with the child to Zach and back.

He had not met this woman before, but something in her brilliant eyes made him doubt it. Perhaps he just wanted them to know each other.

“I was in a hurry and didn’t notice how you got into the car,” she said, locking her fingers with impeccable manicure. “To be honest, I didn’t see much at all. This snowfall is crazy, isn’t it?

He smiled with one corner of his mouth:

    – Yes, crazy.

    – The concierge called a taxi an eternity ago. I even went to the side of the road to try to catch another. Thought it wouldn’t come.

Zach’s smile faded. Did he get into the car called for her? A few minutes ago, he heard the concierge call a taxi for him.

He decided that he would first clarify a simpler question, then find out where the child came from.

    – Did you come on a call?

Adjusting his brown beret, the driver turned on the meter:

    – I just took a passenger to the airport and decided to stop by here and try my luck. In such weather, a good owner will not drive the dog out into the street.

    The woman also leaned forward:

    – I also need to get to the airport. I have to be back in New York for an interview tomorrow. I write essays for Story Magazine. You must have heard of this edition?

“Of course,” Zak nodded, holding back the irritation that gripped him every time the press was mentioned.

Then she took off her hood and he was breathless. Her skin was smooth and flawless, and her cheeks had a healthy glow. Her face was framed by thick brown hair, violet eyes shone. Their light penetrated into the secret corners of his soul, the existence of which he did not even suspect.

He had women who, entering the room, attracted admiring male glances, were fully aware of their attractiveness and skillfully used it. But Zach had never met a woman before who would hit him so hard that he would take his breath away. And it wasn’t just about looks. This woman looked both innocent and sensual. She radiated a radiance, and it came from somewhere inside.

After today’s unsuccessful meeting with the owner of this hotel, he wanted to get home as soon as possible and relax. In these parts, he had a small two-story house in a secluded place, where he lived when he came to the city on business. But the charming stranger also seems to be in a hurry, so he is ready to act like a gentleman and wait for another taxi. This means that the problem with the child, who, fortunately, was still sleeping, will have to be solved by her and the driver.

Just as he was about to apologize and leave, the woman looked at the child and said:

    – You have a wonderful baby. For her convenience, I will give you this taxi and ask the concierge to call me another one.

As she turned and reached for the doorknob, Zach grabbed her sleeve. The woman looked at him uncertainly, and he, releasing her, laughed hoarsely and replied:

    – This is not my child.

“And not mine,” muttered the taxi driver.

The stranger’s lips twitched as if she wanted to smile, but changed her mind at the last moment.

She is not old enough to travel alone.

    – How do you know it’s a girl?

The basket, blanket and cap were all white, making it difficult to tell the sex of the baby at first glance.

“She has a mouth like a rosebud,” the woman smiled, lightly stroking the child’s head. She is too pretty to be a boy.

The driver tapped the steering wheel with his knuckles:

    – The counter is spinning, guys.

“Okay,” the woman said. – Go. I `ll exit.

For the second time that day, Zach’s calmness vanished. His pulse quickened, his mouth dry. He intended to spend the rest of the day in an armchair in front of the fireplace, and not in the police.

    – What are we going to do with her? – he asked.

“Not us, buddy,” the taxi driver replied, starting the engine.

“I told you it wasn’t my baby,” Zach said, ignoring his familiarity.

    The woman looked at him:

    – In that case, how did this little girl get here?

    – I have no idea. Who was your last passenger? Zach asked the driver.

    – Eighty-year-old old man with a cane. I took him to the airport. He was going to New Jersey to visit his relatives. He didn’t have a basket with a child,” the taxi driver answered. The look on his face, which Zach saw in the mirror, said, “I don’t know what you’re up to, buddy, but don’t try to put your problems on me.”

Zak sighed heavily. How many times does he need to repeat that this is not his child?

Unlike the taxi driver, the woman seemed to believe him.

    – Do you think someone abandoned her?

    – I guess the authorities will find out.

Zach didn’t like the situation he was in. He didn’t know anything about small children and didn’t want to know, but what choice did he have? The woman hurries to the plane. Plus, he found the baby. The driver either skillfully pretends, or really does not know how the child ended up in the back seat of his car.

“I’ll take the baby to the police,” he said quietly, grabbing the handle of the unfastened basket. – The police will contact the guardianship themselves.

    – But it may take a long time before they come for her.

    – I just know that the baby will wake up soon, and I don’t have diapers in my pocket.

The woman folded back the blanket:

    – There is a bottle, a pack of formula and a few diapers.

    – The police will be happy about it.

    She raised an eyebrow:

    – I’m sure they will be grateful to you for life.

Zach narrowed his eyes. What is she alluding to? He is a businessman, not a nanny.

The driver adjusted the rear-view mirror:

    – Shall I drop the doves at the cafe so they can negotiate?

“We’re not doves,” Zak gritted through his teeth, gripping the basket handle more tightly.

The stranger met his gaze. She didn’t look away for a long time. Her chin was slightly upturned, her nostrils flared. Then she unexpectedly covered his hand with hers. An electric shock immediately ran across his skin, and his heart began to beat faster. He found that she had a slight citrus scent and that there was no ring on her ring finger. The thought that she was not married made him happy.

“Go ahead,” she said, and her fingers slipped onto the handle of the basket. Zach reluctantly removed his hand. I will return to the hotel with her. I can’t have her in the police station until they come for her. There are a lot of terrible people there every day.

Zach wanted to object. She needs to catch the plane. But about the police station, he couldn’t help but agree with her. This place is really not suitable for an infant. Inner instinct, which rarely let him down, said that this woman could be trusted. The baby will be in good hands until representatives of the guardianship authorities come for her. But now this kind woman needs help.

    “I’ll help you,” he said.

    – This is not necessary.

Opening the door, the woman got out of the car. Holding her bag in one hand, she waved to the doorman with the other. Opening a huge umbrella, he slowly walked towards her.

James Durkins, the current owner of the hotel, turned down the offer made by Harrison Hotels, but at the moment Zach was more determined than ever. When he buys this hotel, he will close it. No wonder it has so few guests.

Handing her bag to the doorman, the woman pulled out a basket from the salon and managed to smile goodbye to Zach before the porter slammed the door.

    – Will you be taken to the airport? the driver asked.

“No, at a private address,” Zak muttered, looking at the cherry-coated figure vanishing into the thick snow.

    – Do you want me to guess?

    Zach didn’t listen to him.

He didn’t even recognize the charming stranger’s name.

    – The counter is spinning, sir. Not that I’m complaining…

Zak listened. Is it the howl of the wind outside the window or a child’s cry?

He rarely felt cornered, but this was just the case. Taking a banknote out of his pocket, he threw it into the front seat and said to the driver:

    – Wait here for my return.

Trinity Matthews was fully aware of what she was doing.

She will have to spend many hours alone in a city where she does not know anyone. The naturopath she interviewed today doesn’t count. Still, as she moved across the marble floor to the reception desk, she didn’t regret her decision.

Some time ago she worked in the guardianship and guardianship authorities, but this experience was short-lived. There were too many abandoned children in the country and those who were mistreated by relatives. She wanted to improve the lives of each of them, but it was an impossible task. Despite all the efforts, the guardianship authorities could not cope with their duties due to the large number of problem children and insufficient funding.

Trinity looked at the sleeping baby in the basket and her throat tightened with emotion. Nobody deserves to be thrown away like a piece of junk. Especially this little angel.

She heard footsteps behind her and turned around. It was the same stranger from the taxi with amazing eyes the color of the night sky, a velvety voice and a smile that seemed familiar to her. A strand of dark hair fell over his forehead, and the flaps of his long coat fluttered behind him.

When he stopped in front of her, she again had the feeling that she had already seen him somewhere.

    Perhaps she shouldn’t trust him.

“I forgot to introduce myself,” he said, smiling wryly. My name is Zachary Harrison.

Trinity’s eyes widened. Surely! Who hasn’t read about this greedy, selfish bastard with the looks of a movie star and delusions of grandeur? In reality, he, however, turned out to be even sexier than in the photo.

But, of course, she couldn’t tell him what she thought of him, so she pulled herself together and gave her name too:

    – I’m Trinity Matthews.

“Miss Matthews,” he said in an important tone. I have thought about the situation and want to help.

    Trinia pricked up:

    – Why?

    He smiled again:

    – Because I have free time and you have to go back to New York.

“I’ll take another flight,” she objected. “I may not be an expert in newborn care, but it is very likely that I am better suited for this than you.

Of course, women understand such things better than men.

When Zachary Harrison folded her arms across her chest, she wanted to give up and go to New York, but something made her put the basket with the baby on the floor and copy his pose.

    – I won’t leave until I’m sure she’s in good hands.

    – I have a house not far from here…

    – I said no.

“In my absence, my neighbors look after the house,” he continued, ignoring her words. Mrs. Dale has ten grandchildren. She loves babies. She raised several adopted children.

Trinity shuddered inwardly. There are certainly many wonderful foster mothers in the world, but her own bitter experience made it difficult for her to believe it. Nora Earnshaw, her adoptive mother, was a monster.

    – Until recently, Mrs. Dale had her own private kindergarten. She still had playpens, high chairs, toys – in general, everything a child needs. I’m sure she’ll be happy to help. His dark eyes sparkled. – You need to be in time for the interview.

Trinity dropped her hands. Work means everything to her. She gives her the opportunity to travel, meet interesting people. Having lived most of her life in a small town in Ohio, she adored New York. She made friends there and considered the city her home.

There is strong competition in her professional field. In this difficult time, finding a job as good as hers is next to impossible. Three employees were made redundant last week to save money, so she shouldn’t take any chances.

    But this baby…

Trinity looked at the baby sleeping in the basket and her heart sank painfully.

She doesn’t trust Zach Harrison. What does she know about his neighbor Mrs. Dale? Nora Earnshaw also gave the impression of a caring mother, but this was only an appearance.

    – How can you be sure that your neighbor will be at home? she asked.

    – Dales stay-at-homes. I’ve been in the city for a few days now. When I passed Mrs. Dale’s house today, she was returning from her morning walk with her youngest grandson.

Biting her bottom lip, Trinity looked around the busy lobby. Several hotel employees stood quietly and waited for her to finish the conversation and turn to them for help.

“Baby and I will stay here,” Trinity said. – This is a good hotel. Great staff here.

    – The child will be better off with someone who can take care of children.

There was a warning in his tone, his face expressed determination.

He may be right. When representatives of the guardianship authorities will come for the baby, it is not known. All this time someone has to take care of her. Perhaps Mrs. Dale is better suited for this than Trinity herself.

“Okay,” she nodded. – We will go to you.

    – We?

    – I have to make sure she gets proper care. Only then can I return to New York with peace of mind.

Careers in babies: Medical Careers for People Who Want to Work with Babies

    Jobs With Babies

If you love infants and are looking for a new career, options abound for jobs with babies. But passion alone won’t make you succeed. “Infants are beautiful and demanding little people who are very curious about the world,” says Helen Adeosun, the founder and CEO of caregiver support site Care Academy. “You have to be patient and want to help babies grow at such a developmentally important time.”

Jobs with babies require various levels of experience, training and degrees, but many people already have a good foundation. “If you worked at summer camps or were your neighborhood’s go-to babysitter, you already bring lots of relevant experience to the table,” says Amanda Augustine is the career expert for TopResume.

First, think about what setting you’d like to work in. “Some people prefer working in a school, while others prefer offices, hospitals or homes,” says Mary Lorenz of CareerBuilder. Then consider how much time and money you’d like to invest in schooling and training. With some self-reflection and research, you should be able to find a career you love.

Here are 15 jobs working with babies:

    1. Nanny
Nannies care for babies and children in their own home or the family’s home. Though most of their time is spent with babies, they may also prepare meals, do light housework and run errands.

    2. Child Care Center Owner or Worker
You can get lots of hands-on baby time by opening or working at a child care center. Education and training requirements depend on your state and employer.

    3. Children’s Gym Owner or Teacher
A fun way to work with babies and kids is to open a children’s gym or become an infant teacher at one of them. Businesses such as The Little Gym, My Gym and Gymboree Play & Music offer franchise opportunities. Each location has different educational and training requirements for teachers.

    4. Pediatrician
A pediatrician is a physician who cares for babies and children. Pediatricians perform wellness checks, diagnose and treat illnesses and more. They also provide newborn care after a baby’s birth. Pediatricians must hold medical degrees.

    5. Pediatric Nurse
Pediatric nurses can be registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs) or nursing assistants. RNs must have a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in nursing — or complete an approved nursing program — and be licensed. LPNs, who work under RNs, must complete a state-approved educational program and be licensed. Nursing assistants must complete a state-approved educational program and pass their state’s competency exam.

    6. Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Nurse practitioners are RNs who serve as primary and specialty health care providers in lieu of pediatricians, but some states still require them to work under a physician’s supervision.

    7. Neonatal Nurse
A neonatal nurse is an LPN or RN who cares for babies — many of them preemies — in a hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

    8. Labor and Delivery Nurse
Labor and delivery nurses are RNs who help women during childbirth. They also monitor the mother and baby and provide postpartum care.

    9. Doula
A doula supports an expectant mother during labor via aromatherapy, massage and more. Doulas work with the medical team to ensure the mother’s wishes are met, and they help with newborn care.

    10. Obstetrician
An obstetrician is a physician who cares for pregnant women and delivers babies. The job requires a medical degree.

    11. Midwife
Nurse-midwives and lay midwives care for pregnant women and deliver babies. Both jobs require specialized training in delivering babies, but a nurse midwife also needs nursing credentials.

    12. Lactation Consultant
Lactation consultants help new mothers successfully breastfeed their babies. They help mothers increase their milk supply, help babies latch properly and more. Lactation consultants must complete breastfeeding coursework and pass a certification exam.

    13. Infant Massage Therapist
An infant massage therapist helps premature babies develop their muscle strength and functionality. To become one, you must complete an infant massage therapy program and become licensed. Two programs to try are Loving Touch and Liddle Kidz Foundation.

    14. Pediatric Physical Therapist
A pediatric physical therapist helps babies and kids with disabilities, illnesses or injuries improve their movement and manage their pain via massage and manipulation. Physical therapists need a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and a state license.

    15. Newborn and Baby Photographer
Many professional photographers specialize in photographing babies, which involves posing them and getting them to smile. While portrait photographers don’t need specific degrees, many take classes to improve their technical skills.

Medical Careers for People Who Want to Work with Babies

With so many options for medical careers, it can be difficult to choose one specialty. As you’re considering different ones, you may want to learn more about medical careers dealing with babies. There are many to choose from and they can be both fulfilling and rewarding.

    Midwives

What They Do: Midwives help mothers during pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. They provide support, education, and ensure mother and baby are healthy. Nurse midwives can deliver babies, help with nursing and care for babies to allow mothers to recuperate.

Is It Right for You? Midwives have a lot of patience and an excellent bedside manner. They are able to comfort people easily and multitask with minimal difficulties. People skills are required.

Education/Training Needed: There are two different types: lay midwives and nurse midwives. The former doesn’t need special education, training or certification, while the latter does require certifications and licensure. Nurse midwives are usually registered nurses who go through a program approved by the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

Salary: Nurse midwives earn approximately $46.62 per hour, or $96,970 per year.

    Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

What They Do: Neonatal nurses are registered nurses providing medical care to newborn babies. They ensure babies are healthy, but also care for those that have medical issues after birth. They can assist doctors in newborn medical procedures. They can also work with researchers and as educators and consultants.

Is It Right for You? Since you can work as an educator, this is perfect for someone who loves the study of newborn babies but doesn’t want to be involved in direct care. For those that want to work directly with newborns, it’s important to be able to cope with newborns who may be ill or have a disability. People skills are necessary to be able to speak with parents about their newborn’s condition.

Education/Training Needed: Neonatal nurses need to graduate from an accredited nursing program for registered nurses. They will also need to be certified in intensive care nursing or neonatal resuscitation.

Salary: Neonatal nurse practitioners earn on average $107,550 per year. Salary depends on location and experience.

    Lactation Consultant

What They Do: A lactation consultant helps new mothers with breastfeeding. Since breastfeeding isn’t always easy, a lactation consultant will work with the mother to properly position the infant, ensure a good latch is achieved and make sure enough milk is produced for the baby’s needs.

Lactation consultants can work in hospitals, doctors’ offices and clinics, and can also independently visit mothers in their homes.

Is It Right for You? Patience is important since mothers and babies can have difficulty getting breastfeeding right. You will need to be able to support and comfort mothers who are worried about their baby getting enough milk.

Education/Training Needed: Lactation consultants need either an Associate of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. They must also pass a national exam for certification.

Salary: The average hourly wage for a lactation consultant is $26, and the annual salary can range from $33,291 to $85,123.

    Pediatric Doctor

What They Do: A pediatric doctor – pediatrician – treats babies and children who are ill. They treat everything from strep throat and pink eye to social and mental health issues. They also administer immunizations and advise mothers on how to best care for their baby. They may work in hospitals, clinics or in their own private practice.

Is It Right for You? You must like working with babies and children and their parents. You should be able to have a patience and a disposition that children and parents like. Relationship building is important for pediatricians because children are often scared when visiting the doctor.

Education/Training Needed: Pediatricians need to complete a medical degree program and receive a medical license after finishing a residency program. Licensure comes after passing a national exam.

Salary: The average salary for a pediatrician is $175,000. Specialists can earn more depending on what they are specializing in; for example, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon can earn $424,367 per year.

    Obstetrician

What They Do: An obstetrician is a doctor that helps women deliver their babies. They work with women throughout pregnancy performing ultrasounds and ensuring they are taking good care of their bodies to support the baby’s growth. During delivery, they make sure mother and baby are healthy during the labor process. After delivery, they ensure the mother recovers and the baby receives the nutrition needed to thrive.

Is It Right for You? You need to have excellent problem-solving skills. You need to have a positive attitude and good communication skills. It’s important to be able to be supportive and provide comfort during difficult pregnancy, deliveries and postpartum.

Education/Training Needed: Obstetricians need to complete a medical degree program. To enter a medical degree program, you’ll need to score well on the MCAT – Medical College Admission Test. Medical school lasts four years. Medical school graduates must then complete a four-year residency training program. Residency programs are paid, but at a much lower amount than a certified obstetrician. Certifications are granted from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).

Salary: The average salary for obstetricians was $301,737 in 2012. Those who are starting out can expect around $200,000 per year. Residency programs can pay $45,000 to $60,000 a year.

Working with babies can warm your heart because you’re helping them have the best start possible in life. Consider one of these careers if you want to work in the medical field.

Child and career – how to combine it?

In our time – the time of energetic people, quick decisions, creative ideas and fast food – there is so little left for themselves, for their family, that women often face a difficult choice: to pursue a career or think about family and children.

Here everyone makes his choice, listening to his own desires and dreams. But many of the fair sex do not give up the main charms of life and are able to combine motherhood with a career. Mediakritika.by finds out how mothers-journalists do it from three colleagues.

Many women fear that the birth of a child may somehow negatively affect their work or career. What do you think about it?

    – I think this is nonsense. A child is a stimulus; on the contrary, he motivates. I do not know how the birth of a child can negatively affect a career. Everything, of course, depends on where the mother works, but now there are a lot of examples of women who successfully combine motherhood with a career.

For example, let’s talk about journalism. If you are engaged in a profession, and not in an editorial business, then now a journalist can easily prepare materials – he went, interviewed with a stroller, did it by phone or Skype. In our time, there are so many opportunities and means to work that, it seems to me, a child cannot be an obstacle to this. These fears most often arise when the baby is first. Then think about how it will be. But everything will turn out as it should, there will be a certain rhythm of work, your own regime. There would be a desire.

In addition, there is a moment of priorities. You will have to sacrifice something, of course. But! They say that work will not hug or kiss you. And it is true. If you are torn and do not understand what is important, both mother and child will suffer. If you rank your needs, then everything will turn out harmoniously.

    – I started working when the baby was 2 weeks old, and I still don’t stop, my son is already 9 years old. It seems to me that a child cannot be an obstacle to a career, except that with motherhood it will be – which in Belarusian sounds “pavolna” – more slowly.

Naturally, no one has canceled any obligations to raise children, to feed them when they are very small, but on the other hand, it is wrong to talk about what didn’t work out with work because the child appeared. And there are many different examples (including mine) that a child has absolutely no effect on building a career.

    – I am convinced that there is nothing more meaningful than the birth of a child, so the opportunity to organize one’s professional activity even with several children is absolutely real. My baby, because I have a special situation – I’m a widow, travels with me to filming, attends events in the office, so I don’t see any problems.

What advice would you give to those who doubt whether they can combine career and family?

Tatyana Guseva, journalist of the online newspaper “Salidarnasts”

    – Those mothers who simply cannot help but work are working on maternity leave. These women will be unhappy if they are deprived of the possibility of self-realization for three years. But a child needs a happy mother. You have to get away from this.

One way or another, you will have to sacrifice something and give something away. Since it won’t happen before, you need to clearly understand this. For me, for example, the priority is always a child. It’s the most important. And maybe that’s why it’s easier for me with my second child, I don’t try to be in time everywhere.

It is known that the reproductive age ends very quickly, the clock is ticking. Personally, I was afraid of failing. I understood that I would write as many more interviews as my heart desires, but I might not have time to give birth. So I advise you to think about this.

When a child is born, life changes, you look at everything differently. Before birth, you don’t know how it will be, and then you realize that the most important thing is children. And it is true.

Algunya Komyagina, Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist in Belarus

    – It seems to me that I have no right to give any advice, but the main thing is probably that the family supports each other. If a woman wants to work, it is important that a man supports her in this endeavor. And I can advise you to think it over well before making a decision, so that later you do not regret any missed opportunities.

I never ask what is more important – a career or a child. For me it is equally important. Everything that happens in my life is important – a child, family, work. I never prioritize.

But I have a tradition. Since I work a lot and for a long time, and I have little time left to fully communicate with the child, then on the weekends we will definitely go somewhere, do something together. This tradition has been around for many years: probably as long as my son. On the other hand, when he was very small and did not go to kindergarten, he was constantly by my side, I don’t think that he was deprived of my love or something else.

I worked at home, and my son was with me, lying in a sun lounger while I worked. And as she began to do more journalism, he stayed at home with a nanny. We have a grandfather who looks after him and a father who is also involved in his upbringing.

    Alyona Sheremet, journalist TUT.by

    – I myself went through such a stage in my life, and one of my friends gave me very valuable advice – she quoted folk wisdom: “God bless, let it go.” In the sense that it will be possible to earn money for children and organize your life. Following this advice, I became a happy mother, and never in my life did I have to regret it even for a split second or doubt that it was the right step. Do not be afraid! If there is a loved one nearby with whom you want to spend your whole life, it is obvious that no child will make this life worse, but will only make it better.

How do you manage to properly organize your life so that your work does not harm your family or your career?

Tatyana Guseva, journalist of the online newspaper “Solidarity”

    – It doesn’t always work out (laughs). And my eldest daughter says that she often needed me, and I worked. Yes, it is, and these reproaches will probably always be.

There is no universal recipe here, there are different children, everyone has a different routine. And even the fact that you work at home does not always save. Sometimes it’s even easier to go somewhere to the office. True, it is easier for me when I am at home and available to my children.

I have now hired a babysitter by the hour for my youngest child, because I realized that it was difficult for me to cope. Sometimes I feel guilty that I am not with my son, but work. A nanny is a good way out for those who have very young children and want to work. I was advised by my colleague, a journalist. And I’m very glad.

Perhaps it is better to choose a job without a hard deadline (especially on maternity leave when the child does not go to kindergarten), because it is unlikely that you will be able to run and compete with someone from the “reporter” profession.

For example, I took my eldest daughter with me to reportage. She was often taken there to babysit, and she was a happy child. With the younger I interviewed via Skype. I was not ashamed of this, but immediately warned that I had a small child. I could take him in my arms, move away when I needed to. Everything worked out harmoniously. Children, of course, can do something, but this is a certain “raisin”. Now, if you write texts, then it’s difficult, it’s better for someone to take the children.

Sometimes you have to say to yourself, “Stop, I don’t work anymore. I spend these hours with loved ones. Now is the time when everyone is trying to earn money, but the family should still be a priority, which means that a balance is needed. A good option is when you plan your time well. Working at night is not an option, you can burn out very quickly. And then you will stop giving yourself to your children, and your loved one, and work.

Algunya Komyagina, Komsomolskaya Pravda journalist in Belarus

    – Everything is badly organized for me, I’m generally spontaneous. I have a strange attitude to all this: I don’t think, for example, that a woman’s mission is that she must definitely cook. I don’t cook dinners even if I’m at home. The child eats at school, the family cooks something for themselves for lunch, and since I now work in the office, I dine out.

In the evening we can go out to dinner together if there is no time at all. In general, the child himself can fry scrambled eggs, make a sandwich. I bought a multicooker that does everything by itself. In the morning I put everything in it, I press a button, it waits, and after a certain time it starts cooking itself. The child comes home from school, and he has hot soup or porridge ready.

If funds allow, I would probably advise you to use qualified help. Now I’m looking for someone to help me clean up. It seems to me that we should take on less of something, if possible, shift the responsibilities to others. I don’t have any planning, I travel a lot, we often travel with a child.

Sometimes this can be to the detriment of dinners, but we have long been accustomed to. We eat quite simply, I don’t “cook” any roasts, everything is simple. I think everyone does this, I’m not the only one.

I’ve always managed, I wouldn’t say it was very difficult. If necessary, I took the child with me. We had a sling, I didn’t even use a stroller. When my son got older, he got used to traveling with me, for example, to reportages. Of course, he groans, which is not interesting, but sometimes you have to travel with me to work. The child sees how I work, how I interview. I try to show him where and how my colleagues work, so that he understands that my mother is not just sitting at the computer, but she is working, writing articles. That there is such work.

    Alena Sheremet, TUT.by journalist

    – There are no universal tips. Everyone has so many nuances that you just need to approach the conditions that exist with your brain, always remaining a person.

Of course, my conditions are not ideal, in the sense that no one cleans every day, there is not always something to eat, but, nevertheless, everything works out. There is always a question regarding the family and children – it is a matter of trust in a partner, the ability to understand each other, respect and treat each other normally – no more, no less.

It is not at all necessary to give up work and limit your life to household duties. In addition to financial security, your favorite business gives you the opportunity to implement your ideas, communicate with like-minded people, develop and create. That is why a mother “with a profession” is interesting to her children, because they always have the opportunity to learn something new and exciting from her.

    1. Master your planning skills. Time management for a working mother becomes a vital tool. If earlier you could afford to “surrender to the flow of life”, now “plan for the day / week / month”, “ability to prioritize” from boring business terms should move into the category of useful habits. In the day of a working mother, like everyone else, there are 24 hours, and learning how to distribute them wisely is already half the battle. Many good works are devoted to the art of planning (for example, Ekaterina Burmistrova’s book “Family Time Management”) and there are even entire communities where experienced business mothers exchange their secrets.

    2. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Perfectionism or the fear that “I will be considered lazy” often prevents us from seeking help. However, the position “I’d rather do everything myself” is not an option, this is exactly the case when you need to use all available resources to help. Try not to load your schedule with “extra” things and take on “everything and even more”. If you have the opportunity to ask grandparents to meet a child from kindergarten / school, send your eldest daughter to the store for bread, teach your youngest son how to load dishes into the dishwasher – be sure to use this. Distribute responsibilities among all family members, and of course, learn to say “no” if you are uncomfortable doing something.

    3. Find the right job with a convenient schedule. Changing jobs is stressful and it’s always easier to say “it’s impossible”. However, with the development of technology, there are many opportunities for remote work and part-time work. You just need to decide on it and consider all the suitable options. Of course, the ideal situation is if before maternity leave you have already established yourself as a reliable employee and you will be gladly accepted back, adjusting the schedule. There are many examples when working mothers managed to agree to finish the working day no later than 18 hours, even where it is customary to “spend the night at work”. Everything is within your power.

    4. Take good care of yourself and your health. This item is perhaps the most important, although many working mothers neglect it due to lack of time. A tired mother who dreams of “everyone leaving her behind” is unlikely to be able to find resources for her family. Children take a lot of strength and energy, and this energy needs to be taken from somewhere. If there is no time for yourself in the schedule of a working mother, then there is a high probability of facing very unpleasant consequences – chronic fatigue, emotional burnout, depression, and these are not conditions that are treated simply by sleep. Therefore, it is very important to track the very first symptoms of fatigue and not ignore them. Set boundaries, don’t let work issues “pull” you around the clock, don’t give up vacations, find an opportunity to get enough sleep. If you are tired, your loved ones should also understand this. For example, kids can warm up their breakfast on a Sunday morning and watch a good movie while you sleep. Time to rest and recover, pays off many times over.

    5. Set aside at least 15 minutes each day to be alone with your child. If a child knows that you are guaranteed to spend time with him, which you will devote only to him, putting aside all business and mobile phones (doing homework does not count), he will be more relaxed about your busyness. You can play a game that the child will offer, chat, just lie on the couch in an embrace – let the child decide how he wants to spend “his time”. A very good tradition of joint evening dinners or tea parties, when everyone gathers at the same table and everyone tells how his day went. All this creates a solid foundation for trusting relationships with children, which even working parents can build.

Balancing between home and work is not easy, but it can be learned.

Orchard Hills, Irvine – CV Preschool

The rolling hills are the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Irvine. It takes its name from James Irvine II, an Irish American rancher who purchased this parcel of land in 1864. Irvine was one of California’s earliest large-scale agriculturalists, and he made an enormous contribution to Southern California’s development as a pioneer in agriculture and irrigation. The city now known as Irvine occupies only part of the former Rancho San Joaquin. In 1894, James’ son, James III (known as “The Major”), became partners with William Spurgeon on the first successful fruit farm in Southern California and helped spur the rapid growth of Orange County’s renowned citrus industry. In 1912, James III’s son, James IV (known as “The Major”), and his wife, Arabella McDill, built a resort hotel. In 1936, The Irvine Company bought the 1,650-acre ranch and, in 1964, opened its new headquarters.

In 1966, the University of California system purchased 4,100 acres for one of its new campuses. In 1968, the Irvine Company sold 8,200 acres to the University of California for one dollar per acre. The University then leased much of this land for agricultural and related research purposes. The Irvine Company retained the remaining 2,000 acres for development purposes. The University is a densely-populated campus in a broad, flat valley, bisected by a deep canyon home to many endangered species. The University currently uses about one-third of the total acreage while the rest is being developed into housing communities. This includes villages designed around commercial and brand-new schools, shopping centers, sports complexes, office parks, golf courses, and other amenities.

The best restaurants in Orchard Hills, Irvine, California, can be found at the Town Center. Some popular restaurants include The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang’s, and BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. The best parks in Orchard Hills, Irvine, California, can be found at the University of California, Irvine. Some popular parks include Aldrich Park, Arboretum and Botanic Garden, and University Hills Park. The best grocery stores in Orchard Hills, Irvine, California, can be found at the Marketplace at UCI. Some popular grocery stores include Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market.

It is safe to live in Orchard Hills, Irvine, California. The city has a meager crime rate and is considered very safe. Additionally, the University of California, Irvine campus is located in the city and is one of the country’s most well-known and respected universities. By 2020, the average household income in Orchard Hills is expected to be $132,538, while the median household income will be $88,097. However, some affordable housing options are still available for individuals who make less than that amount of money.

Public education can be obtained by all residents living in Irvine via Irvine Unified School District. Also, the University of California, Irvine, is located in this city and allows for higher education for all interested.

    AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

    We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

    SCHOOL-READY

    What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

    South Park KinderCare Programs

    Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
    ready to explore their world.

    Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

    Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

    Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
    kindergarten!

    Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

    Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

    Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

    Cooking Academy™ (3-12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

    Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

    Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it. )

    STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
    amazing things!

    Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

    A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

    An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

    Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

    • I would recommend KinderCare of South Park to a friend. It’s hard to find a place that you can trust to take care of your kids. I love the activities offered especially during the summer program. The teachers at the center are top notch.

      Hi Tiffany –
The best way for me to tell you how I can’t imagine a world without KinderCare is to tell you our family’s stories from our time with KinderCare –
We were lucky enough to have a friend take care of our oldest when I had to return to work after 8 weeks off on maternity leave. Shortly, after John’s first birthday our situation changed and we had to find someone else to look after our son. We found a small mom and pop daycare and thought — Yes this is a good, safe and comfortable place for John. Our experience didn’t turn out quite the way we thought. So, we turned to KinderCare and immediately felt a complete relief that we were making the best move. The Teachers, Management and Staff made us feel so much better. They made suggestions on the best way to transition John over to the new place. We had no problems moving him. Things just got better and better for him. Art projects started coming home. He showed more interest in songs and books. I kept everything he has brought home.
One day I came in to drop John off and Becky came over to me to tell me about her daily visit with John to see the birds. She even had a cute little nickname for him, “My Man.” I was blown away by how a teacher would go out of her way to spend time with a child, my child, who was not currently in her class. I knew before but it sealed the deal that John was in the best place.
When our second came along I was nervous, our son was with a friend for the first year so this was kind of new experience for us. Carol was so easy to talk to and she answered all our questions. My first day back to work I called to check on Emma. Carol said she was doing well and was honest that Emma was getting used to the new place and that would take some time. At the end of the day when I got there to pick the kids up, I was told that John went over around lunch time to check on his sister to make sure she was okay. It warmed my heart to know that whether he asked or they offered they made sure both
Emma and John were both adjusting to the changes we had in our family.
Emma wasn’t feeling too good and I kept her home with me. It was just after 630pm and the phone was ringing with a number I didn’t recognized, it was Carol to check to see if Emma was feeling alright. She was calling from her personal phone. It was so incredibility nice of Carol to take time to check on Emma.
Every teacher and staff member knows my kids by name regardless of their interaction with them. At one point or another I have heard a cute story from each member of the KinderCare staff about my kids – something they did, said or even what they were wearing. I can go to any teacher or member of the staff with a question, request or concern and I am always met with we can help you with that or a Thank you for letting us know.
I can’t imagine a world without KinderCare….. These men and woman care about all the children that come into the center and take extraordinary care of them. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
      Thank you,
      Gayle M R.

    • I Can’t Imagine a World Without Kindercare

I still remember my daughter Ashlyn’s first day of Kindercare 3 years ago.   I remember I had the first day jitters more than Ashlyn, who was so excited to put on her book bag and new dress and go off to “school”.  When we arrived at Kindercare I started to feel my jitters creep up into tears.  I held them back for my little girl and told her to “have a great day”.  I’m not going to lie, Ashlyn was a little upset to see Mommy leave, but once she got to know her teachers and schedule she looked forward to every day at Kindercare.  She would actually get upset if she had a day off.  Ashlyn has made so many great friends at the center and talk constantly about all of the teachers.
About a year ago, Ashlyn went to the eye doctor and it was determined that she would need glasses.  She was so nervous to go to Kindercare the next morning wearing her new glasses.  The day before we went to the doctors I told Ashlyn’s teacher that she would be coming in the next day with glasses and that she was nervous.  Ashlyn slowly went into Kindercare that next morning, the first time she has not run, and was welcomed with at least two teachers wearing their glasses.   Ashlyn had never seen her teachers like that before.  She was so excited to realize that even they wear glasses.  I was almost brought to tears by the compassion of the Kindercare staff.  The teachers always have little ways to make the children feel great, from taking pictures with friends to acting surprised when my daughter “sneaks” up on them and yells “boo”.  Each and every staff member that I ever come in contact with, whether it is one of my daughter’s teachers or not, have made me feel like my child will be safe under their care.  Each time I leave Kindercare I think to myself how lucky I am that I get to feel like my daughter is truly safe while not in my care.  They say that it takes a village to raise a child and I honestly believe that Kindercare is part of my village and I wouldn’t want it any other way!

Thank you for the opportunity to express my feelings about my Kindercare Center.

    • I wanted to write to share with you my recent experience with the South Park KinderCare. My son, who is 4, had gone to a sitter since he was born. The sitter was having surgery and I needed childcare on a temporary part time basis. I spoke with Ms. Cansa and she was so accommodating to my situation and helpful to provide options. When my son started at the center, he had a lot of trouble as it was a big transition for him. His teacher, Ms. Beckie was so patient, caring and compassionate towards him. He would cry every day that I dropped him off, and she would sit and hold him until he settled down. She worked with him during nap time since he wasn’t used to having that quiet time. When I would call to check on him and everyone was so kind and I always felt that I could call anytime to check in on him. Ms. Cansa, Ms. Tiffany, Ms. Beckie, and the entire staff really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was a wonderful experience and it was because of all of them. I just wanted say thank you and to recognize their efforts.

    • My name is Jen and my daughter is in the Prekindergarten class at South Park KinderCare. I was lucky enough to be able to join them for the recent zoo field trip and I just had to share how thoroughly impressed I was. I have been incredibly pleased with the care and learning that my daughter has received her entire time at KinderCare, but field trips were new for us and the zoo can be a crazy place with just one child let alone 14. I was so thoroughly impressed with the order they had and how aware they were at all times of each child. They were teaching and so tuned into each kid’s needs. I really liked the ankle tags and how many times they did counts and verified each kid by name. The kids had a wonderful time and I am so grateful that I got to be a part of it. I am just so grateful and pleased for the wonderful experience my daughter has had at KinderCare- South Park and I really felt compelled to share it. Cansa, Tiffany, Becky, and the whole staff really are wonderful and have been so good for my daughter and our family. My daughter actually wants to go to school and as a working mother that means the world to me. When I go to pick her up she doesn’t want to leave. I can’t say just what that means to me! Thank you for selecting such a great staff and for having such a nice facility. I recommend it to everyone I know. Thanks!

George Martin’s Fire and Blood will be released in November

George Martin announced the release date of the new book. .. And no, “ Winds of Winter ” will have to wait until at least next year. But on November 20 in the UK and the US will be released “Fire and Blood” , the first volume of a two-volume chronicle of the reign of the Targaryen dynasty.

The book will take place 300 years before the beginning of “Game of Thrones”. According to the description, this is “the complete history of the Targaryen dynasty, describing their conquest of Westeros and their rule over all the Seven Kingdoms until the Dance of the Dragons, the civil war that nearly ended the entire dynasty.”

The book will have about 600 pages and 75 illustrations by artist Doug Whitley .

“No, winter isn’t coming… at least not in 2018. You’ll have to wait a little longer for the Winds of Winter,” Martin remarked, “but you’ll be able to return to Westeros in November. However, I want to point out, specifically emphasize, that “Fire and Blood” is not a fiction novel and was never meant to be. Rather, it is a “fictitious historical chronicle” with an emphasis on the phrase “historical chronicle”. I like to read historical non-fiction, and I wanted to write something similar.0250

    Amazing quality

My father bought a Ford in 1958, he had a bad experience, and he instilled in me an aversion to this brand. But when I needed a new SUV in 2017 and my wife’s brother-in-law could give us an employee discount, I took a chance and bought an Explorer XLT with a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive. The car was in perfect condition. With the exception of less than I expected gas mileage, the car turned out to be wonderful. I have had it for 17 months and love the comfort, handling and reliability. Update: I’ve had the 2017 Explorer for almost 36 months now. The car remains intact. The vehicles I’ve had in the past have been great, just a few minor issues here and there. This is the first one that didn’t have the slightest problem. Great car! Update: I have 41 months of ownership. I received three recall notices and fixed all three issues in one visit. A recall is a hassle, but my car had no problems.

Not a fan of the 2.3L i4 ecoboost

Let me start by saying I’m a Ford girl. I grew up in a Ford family, I refuse to buy anything but a Ford. Started with a new 2010 Ford Edge Limited that only lasted 2 weeks because I got hit by a dude with a mobile meth lab in his car, but I enjoyed those 2 weeks. I then switched to a new 2011 Ford Edge Limited, got about 75,000 miles on it and never had any problems. I traded in my 2011 advantage for a used 2013 Ford Explorer Sport because I was approaching 100k miles and I just knew something was about to break if I didn’t as my warranty had already run out. When I got the Explorer it went 15k miles, never had a problem, kept it until June 2017 when I bought a 2017 Ford Explorer Limited with a 2.3L i4 ecoboost engine. It was delivered to my house, I didn’t know it was a 4-cylinder until I drove it to work the following Monday. Now I am angry with myself for not paying attention to such an important detail. I never would have thought that a mid-size SUV would have a 4-cylinder engine. That’s where my regret began. What I love about it: bright headlights, massage seats, air-conditioned seats, adaptive cruise control, remote start, door keypad, 3rd row seat stowaway. What I hate about it: Changed the front space – not as much driver/passenger space as it was in 2013, it was a money hole – I had to change the battery somewhere between 30 and 50k miles and I had to change the water pump to 66 km miles. I also read about a couple lawsuits against Ford that Ford knew about for at least 10 years but refused to fix. First, the problem with the paint on the hood. The paint is bubbling due to the material they use in production (I don’t remember exactly, but google it and you’ll find what I’m talking about). Second, water pump failure (google this too). I may not have stumbled upon something else yet but this is very disappointing because I want to love Ford but they make all these problems I had with my 2017 Limited 4-cylinder so much harder. It is very difficult for me to look at the pros in this car.

I am Toyota or Honda Guy

Yes, my name says it all. I had a Honda CRV and then a Toyota Highlander. Believe it or not, after giving my old car to my licensed daughter, I wanted another Highlander. Both the Highlander and the Pilot, while very reliable, were more like a van. Both new models. I was looking for a mean car with some power. I’m glad I rode the Explorer Sport tests. I immediately fell in love with her. I have this car for about 3 months, there is nothing to complain about. Hmm, well, sometimes I hear some kind of noise on the dashboard and have no idea what it is. Other than that, I’m very glad I got the Explorer. It looks amazing, the ride is very comfortable, and if you have a turbo, trust me, the road belongs to you.

    Beautiful car

Good solid suspension. Rough surfaces are smoothed out. Ideal height for entry and exit. Without a doubt, this is a very cool and manageable SUV. I think that’s why you can see them everywhere, in every trim level.

    Great ride with affordable style

I like my ride because it’s affordable, big enough to carry and needs to be secured. When folded, the seats are flush. Many cars have gaps and they are not flat. So far, no problems. I bought this used one after only 17,000 miles, so it’s like new! Rides smoothly, gas is good for the size.

    Autobahn quality and then more…

SPORTY AND FUN – The 2017 Ford Explorer Sport AWD was exactly what I was looking for and it’s loaded. It’s very comfortable, fast and a lot of fun to drive, handles as you’d expect from a 4WD car and doesn’t skid or skid in the wet. I purchased this 2017 Explorer Sport in misfortune due to Hurricane Harvey in which my 2016 Ford Escape sank and was completely lost, always recommended by GAP for a few hundred dollars which I always buy but never used until now. My rental car was a Ford Explorer, and I really liked it, so I drove to Macri Ford, Dickinson, Texas, where the car dealership was practically underwater at the time of Harvey. Mc Ree Ford has a great reputation and we have bought several vehicles from them in the past and even during the chaos the sales manager got me a deal that I agreed to. Jeff Cool, the salesperson, was an exceptional person, he understood my needs and suffering from the storm that devastated Houston and the surrounding area and worked to get me the best deal using the incentives available… Jeff’s knowledge and his explanation of what The way this Ford Explorer Sport works has been outstanding! The only negative of this model is the lack of a stretchable cargo cover, like my Escape, this cargo cover is fixed, but better than nothing. I drive on a dark morning and the headlights provide exceptional low and high beam visibility. I love the space and the easy push of a button to fold the rear seats… A security setting where I get in or out and only the driver’s door is open. It comes with a lot of great security features, a reversing camera and hands-free Bluetooth. The sunroof is a nice added bonus, and the pedal to open the sunroof when your hands are full is nice too.

    2017 Limited Explorer

We bought our 2017 Explorer to replace our 2014 Escape. We liked the features of Escape, but found that we downsized too much. We bought the lLmited so it has pretty much everything but the towing package. So far we haven’t had any problems with service. It doesn’t have blind spot indicators in the mirror like I’m used to, but after driving it for a couple of weeks, I didn’t miss any. The Explorer has small mirrors located on the side mirrors, allowing me to see everything. The front seats are amazingly adjustable. Seats are adjustable, foot pedals and steering wheel. Whether I wear heels or not, I can always find the perfect fit, which is not easy at 5 feet tall. My husband is 6 feet tall, has a fairly large build, and also likes the comfortable seats. So, it has all the extra features and they work really well. Now about the strange. You cannot turn off the interior lights when getting in and out of the vehicle. There is no switch, so it doesn’t matter if the child is sleeping, or if you drive in the dark for a while and don’t want the lights to blind you, or like me, work at night in the area it’s not good, everything will light up bright interior lighting. There’s plenty of cargo room in the back, but since I don’t think most of us buy this car for the aero design, I don’t understand why they pulled that little piece out of the back. It’s been a little over a year and we still love our Explorer and wish we had it sooner. My husband didn’t realize how small the Escape’s seats were until he sat in them. So far we’ve only had the most basic maintenance and I still haven’t figured out how long it would take for the interior lights to be on. I hate that they appear automatically, without a choice. We live in Arizona so the AC is on most of the months. I find about 21 miles in summer and 23/24 miles in winter. My husband’s gas mileage is usually a mile or two less than mine if he drives.

    Impressed.

I’ll be short and sweet. We were in the market to replace our Expedition 06 as we no longer need a ground bus with two small teenage children. We chose the Sport because we preferred a more exciting ride than the Platinum. 2nd row bucket seats (cantilevered) to separate the kids, like a line in the sand, but also when we’re walking with the adults, they seem more stylish than the benches. The power is great, but when the turbines are spinning, you want to drink. We have yet to make a long trip but our combined city/highway is 18-19mpg, which is a few points higher than our expedition (14-16), which may disappoint some, but we are indifferent as our usage may not reflect the opinions of others. As a driver, you will find a comfortable position and the technology will be fast, intuitive and responsive. Interior quality and materials are consistent throughout the car, feeling well put together throughout and way better than my A5 buddies. The rear seats are comfortable for adults and provide ample support, but may feel cramped for people taller than 1.8 meters. The only real complaints I have are the thicker A-pillar and rear end, which makes it hard to see at times. The distance between the front door and the seats renders the door armrest virtually useless, which then adds a small sliding step for getting in and out. The wife felt a few awkward (not awkward) shifts, but she’s not sure if it was situational, traffic related, or not knowing the new vehicle. The front row storage space can be adjusted to accommodate the FOB key and phone without relying on the compartment in front of the shifter or cup holder. As for the 3rd row… we *would never use it*, I’ve been there and space is limited, but won’t break the Geneva Convention. I can’t speak to quality or reliability as time spent with a car does not reflect long term use. Overall we are happy with our purchase, we have researched the segment that is best for our family.

    Slick, fast and legal

This SUV has it all. Powerful V6 that acts fast and behaves as advertised. He’s fast and responsive! Torque is excellent. The MPG is a little underwhelming, but what it lacks in efficiency it makes up for in performance and agility. I have never been disappointed in the performance of the engine when I needed it. The ride is amazing too. Virtually no cabin noise, even at speeds over 70 mph on the highway. Parking this beast is a little tiring. It does look bigger than it actually is, but external sensors and radar make parking and maneuvering easier over time. The comfort and luxury of the cabin is not inferior to more expensive SUVs. This cabin has it all: heating, cooling, massage, two zones, memory seats, etc… The ride and driving is just great. One big drawback… SYNC 3. It still lacks seamless integration and reliable performance. It seems clumsy and unresponsive at times. This also affects the fast response of the vehicle’s radar sensors. It’s not terrible, but annoying. In general, a crazy SUV! Our family couldn’t be happier with this.

    give up the smart key!!

First of all, my wife’s car, although I drive occasionally. We rented a car for 9 months and are generally very happy with the car. We do not use sync. bluetooth, etc., so I can’t comment on them. Very spacious, especially compared to our 2018 escape. Works great in winter. Michigan didn’t even need a 4wd last winter. Easily drives through snow a foot thick or less. Wife is 5ft, I am 6ft 1 and we both find it easy to drive and adjust seats and mirrors. The overall run is 21-22, which turned out to be better than I expected. The only real complaint is the smart (DUMB) key/button start. This key permanently either locks or unlocks the car when you don’t want it to. There is a real danger of walking away thinking the car is locked when it isn’t. If you stand in or walk around the vehicle for too long, the vehicle will unlock without your knowledge. You should NOT use the lock button on your key to lock your car as there have been many warnings about scanners that can steal your code. You should only use the lock button on the door. Whatever you do, don’t check if it’s locked by checking the handle. It also includes walking up to the car with the keys in your pocket or purse and waiting for it to be unlocked, which is not the case. You will wake up the neighbors a block away when the horn sounds and the lights flash. The smart key does not have an ignition lock that allows the car to be turned off in any gear, and I’ve heard of vehicles rolling down driveways, hills, etc. – a major safety issue. Also. If you have trouble finding the key, fall to the floor, knock over your wallet, etc. and try to leave, panic will ring until you find it. If it was in the ignition, like ALWAYS, it wouldn’t be a problem. Somehow the key wound up under the seat and it took 10 minutes to find the triggered alarm. Would your neighbors appreciate it? FORD ………. this is a great car. Don’t spoil it with push button start/smart keys

I have a question about buying a Ford – this car sucks

We sold this car because it was such a POS. It was the worst car we’ve ever owned, so we shouldered the loss in value and bought a new SUV. Every car I’ve bought has been a Ford, but this one really makes me wonder why. We have restricted mode, which means a lot of electronics are not working properly. The backup camera randomly doesn’t work, the collision avoidance sensors often give false positives, and the air conditioner is unstable. Probably the highest maintenance cost per mile of any vehicle I have owned, including the boat.

    Real sleep value

Based on 3 consecutive MB GL friends I think I’m crazy until they see and did not drive only 55k without a discount. Unlike the GL, that sob comes when you touch the throttle, the seats are better, the handling is better, the handling is better, but the doors don’t slam like the Benz. The fee is small, and the cost of ownership is half that. Ask the dealer to give you platinum for night

    BEST OFF ROAD EVER

I traded in my 2016 Chevy Equinox for a Ford Explorer 2017. I looked at Chevrolets, Hondas, Toyotas and even Kias, but nothing stood out to me. The Ford Explorer was a win when I got into it. You can’t tell by looking at him, but he has a lot of space inside. The drive is invincible. I can’t imagine a better car. I moved the furniture with him, all the seats were occupied, and no one complained about the trip. The air conditioner is excellent. You won’t regret buying this machine, trust me.

30,000 km review on 2.3L FWD

After driving 30,000 miles, I noticed everything plus s and cons. First, the cons. From day one, the Sync 3 system was set to max my phone’s volume, so after weeks of looking for ways to fix this problem, I finally gave in and set my phone to not change the volume with the side buttons, which annoys me. but after two years I got used to it. The sync system will go crazy about once a month and I’ll have a black screen for a couple of minutes while driving down the road, but then it turns back on. The gas mileage I record is consistently two miles per gallon less than what my car’s computer shows. The rubber/plastic skin in front of the roof rails comes off and unfolds so that it flaps in the wind (at higher speeds). There were also some reviews about the exhaust etc. The leather driver’s seat is there. It’s so comfortable it’s like they were expecting a much smaller butt than my 6'1,200 lb. i. I don’t know why they made it wide at my feet and then made it narrower at the back of the seat. Now about pluses. I drove 30 km without any mechanical problems! I paid for three oil changes (roughly 9,000 miles each), a few air filters, and new rear brake pads (since I like to brake hard), and that’s it. The minute I accelerated at the dealership, I could tell that this car has a lot more power than my previous 2014 Explorer 2.0L and it continues to have all the acceleration I need. The Apple AirPlay and Google Maps sync feature is great. I have never had a problem with the lift mechanism or any other mechanical function, but I didn’t expect a problem in the first two years. Overall, I’d say this Explorer was great in original quality, but only time (and resale value) will tell if the Explorer was worth buying over the Highlander.

Overall… Glad my lease just ended!

I signed this two year lease in February 2017 after looking for a bigger car for my family and me. My Explorer replaced a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum so I expected more. I mean, for the most part, it wasn’t that bad. But there were definitely things that bored me in 24 months of rent. I loved the look of the car (it was a Limited variant), the LED headlights and fog lights were really something I now can’t live without after having had one for a while. The keyless entry panel on the driver’s door is something I can’t live without now either. It’s so convenient to be able to throw your keys in the center console and go skiing, kayaking, hiking or even attending lacrosse and football games. The interior wasn’t bad, but not great – the materials weren’t very good (lots of hard plastic and cheap vinyl covers). On the other hand, there was plenty of space, which is exactly what you are looking for when renting a midsize crossover. The 2.3-litre 4-cylinder put out about 22 mpg combined most of the time, but also produced very loud drones and, combined with the transmission, was very jerky between shifts. The car was GREAT in the snow. I really liked how capable this machine was – super useful in New England conditions! Overall, not very reliable, rather poor build quality, cheap materials, not the safest car in its class, but decently comfortable, easy to park, has decent visibility and cheap to maintain.

Needed a car of this size to keep up with a busy family of five (plus a dog) . .. marching orchestra, entry / exit from college dorms, dancing, camping, skiing, canoeing, very active group who need their own car seat and gear space. The car performs great in all weather conditions, hot and cold, rain and snow, giving us the confidence to get where we’re going when we need to get out of the house. The features of this trim line are rich… yet truly comfortable, making business more comfortable with details such as seat heaters and seat coolers, automatic roof and sun visors, rain-sensing wipers, and safety features such as view cameras. 360 degree and lane sensors. .

Guard dogs for families: 10 Best Family Guard Dogs

Is It Safe to Have a Protection Dog Around Children?

As a parent, you’d do anything to protect your little loved ones. And we all know that children like to play by their own rules – sometimes finding themselves in peculiar or even dangerous situations. All it takes is a single moment for an unexpected threat to arise and your youngster is suddenly put in harm’s way. Well, not on our watch. Protection dogs are not only lovable and faithful furry friends, but they serve as a barrier or means of defense between your children and strangers. Protection dogs are not only professionally trained, but they will dish out some heart-warming snuggles while also guarding your entire family against unwanted threats.

Are Protection Dogs Safe to be Around Children?

This is a very common and highly warranted question parents want to know about protection dogs. The answer is a resounding “yes,” if you have the right breed of dog, and they have gone through the proper training. Nowadays, parents and their children are frequently seen in the company of a protection dog. These canines serve as the perfect deterrent and warning system should they encounter any criminal activity – like an attempted break-in.

Things to Consider When Looking for a Protection Dog for Children

    #1. Breed

As you might have already assumed, some breeds are naturally better guard dogs that are good with kids. While we love all our four-legged friends, there are certain breeds who are instinctively lazy or inherently friendly. These pooches aren’t as responsive to potentially dangerous situations as other, more attentive breeds. Herding dogs, for example, were bred to keep the pack together and will intervene in dangerous situations, where lap dogs may not have the drive or energy.

Some breeds like Pitbulls naturally have aggressive tendencies. These types of “aggressive” breeds serve as great protection dogs. The caveats to this are ensuring the canine wasn’t abused growing up, that they’ve been trained properly, and they’re accustomed to social situations.

    #2. Training

Protection dogs are perfect for families, as they are loving companions while also capable of safeguarding their humans against threats. When a protection dog is fully trained, they are completely safe to the public as long as no one attempts to attack or hurt a member of their family. Protection dogs are incredibly intelligent and adaptable. That’s why they have become so popular among families.

They are ecstatic when it comes to interacting and building loving relationships with their humans. What’s more? These protection dogs were professionally trained to be highly alert and obedient around threats, but that doesn’t prevent them from being faithful, loving companions.

    Best Protection Dogs for Kids

Let’s quickly discuss some of the best protection dogs for kids. Not all breeds are created equal. Below are the breeds we recommend as the best protective dog breeds for families.

    Doberman Pinscher

For families with large properties, a Doberman Pinscher will make an excellent guard dog for your home. This breed is praised for its speed and ability to reach an intruder swiftly and efficiently. They are celebrated as the 5th smartest dog breed worldwide and are known for being alert, fearless, and loyal companions.

    Rottweiler

Rottweilers were originally bred to serve as cattle-protection dogs, which makes them relentless protectors of their pack. Loyal and intelligent, this breed is known for their ability to learn quickly, although they may be slightly aloof around strangers until they are given a proper introduction.

    Staffordshire Terrier

Staffordshire Terriers were bred to serve as bull and bear fighters. Because of their protective and aggressive nature, they have been recognized as a great option when it comes to getting a guard dog. This breed requires proper training and socialization from an early age to ensure you receive a perfect protector and an excellent pet for your family.

    German Shepherd

This fearless, bold, and confident breed are known for being extremely intelligent. German Shepherds often serve as police dogs as they are quick to learn commands and provide adequate protection when faced with a threat. While they may be calm and enjoy belly rubs in the household, they will not hesitate to react quickly if their home or family is threatened.

    Bullmastiff

With great protection instincts and immense physical strength, a Bullmastiff is both extremely loyal and courageous. Intruders do not want to cross this breed’s path. They will quickly find that the Bullmastiff to determined block their path and has enough strength to knock them down. When around their family, this breed is docile and loving.

    Rhodesian Ridgeback

This independent breed has a strong drive to hunt prey, as they were originally bred to track and hunt lions. A Ridgeback is a natural and loyal watchdog that loves to cuddle and snuggle into its human’s lap. Because they aren’t naturally obedient, it is essential that Rhodesian Ridgebacks receive the proper training as a youngster.

Steps to Take to Ensure Your Protection Dog Makes a Smooth Transition into the Family

#1. Prepare your children in advance. Let them know what to expect before introducing your new protection dog to the family. Children must have a firm understanding of the proper ways to interact with and care for their new companion.

#2. Parents need to make some adjustments. It is important to establish your authority, so your new guard dog knows you are the Alpha of the household. It is important to exercise consistency and be firm with your dog as you interact with him/her, so they know who is in charge.

When you’re a parent, the safety and well-being of your children are of the utmost importance. That’s why many families choose to get a protection dog to safeguard their household. With the proper training, protection dogs are completely safe around children. With that being said, make sure you hire reputable professionals when it comes to your pup’s training. By welcoming a protection dog into your family, you will not only reap the benefits of having a loving companion, but you’re also investing in the safety and security of your family.

15 BEST Guard Dogs For Families (with Photos)

Dogs have been the best friends of humans since time immemorial.

They have been companions and protectors, guarding properties, lives, and even livestock. And although all breeds are loving and loyal, making them excellent guardians, some perform the role more professionally.

15 Best Guard Dogs for Families

They are highly alert and bark at the slightest movement, scaring away any threats and notifying their owner. Dogs often put their lives on the line to protect their owners.

If you want to adopt a guardian, here are the 15 best guard dogs for families.

    Table of Contents

    1. German Shepherd

There is a reason why German Shepherds are the most common police dogs.

A German Shepherd sits on a rug on the front porch.

They are loyal and courageous and respond to commands at a moment’s notice. They have the natural instinct to listen, learn, and obey, making them the perfect family guard dog.

German Shepherds have an imposing height and a loud bark. Moreover, they make protecting their owners their life mission. They do this to the point that they put their own lives on the line.

However, you’ll need to train the German Shepherd thoroughly. Train it not to jump on anyone who approaches its home. An untrained German Shepherd can be overprotective of its family and attack anyone who comes its way.

However, the ferocious animal transforms into a softie for its family. It is exceptionally lovely and friendly, especially with children.

    2. Rottweiler

Rottweilers have a reputation for being aggressive.

Rottweiler stands on the rock by the river.

They are an amazing breed, loyal, lovely, and protective of their family. They have a calm temperament and are gentle and playful. However, they are wary and suspicious of strangers.

Their intimidating stare and standoffishness can prevent anyone from trying anything funny.

If not trained properly, their aggressive behavior can get out of hand. If not appropriately socialized, Rottweilers will bark at and attack any individual that comes their way.

Rottweilers are eager to please and intelligent, making them very easy to train. You can train them to be excellent guard dogs. They will undoubtedly be vigilant and on the lookout for strangers, as well as devoted and loving to their families.

    3. Doberman Pinscher

The Doberman Pinscher was bred to be a guard dog and retain its guarding instincts. They were bred from Terriers and Greyhounds, so they have agile, athletic bodies. They protected taxmen while the latter collected money.

They have typical guard dog characteristics of being alert and cautious. While this is the main reason they make excellent guard dogs, the same qualities can also be a matter of concern if you don’t train the Doberman and socialize it properly.

Their bark, growl, and intimidating look will stop anyone from entering a property or harming anything. When trained, these dogs become very well-tuned to their owner’s commands. They are excellent with children, loving and protecting them.

However, the Doberman is very energetic and needs regular exercise. Long walks, obedience training, and tracking must be a part of their routine.

    4. Bullmastiff

The Bullmastiff is a cross between Bulldogs and Mastiffs and is one of the best guard dogs for families. The breed is tall, muscular, and strong, making it very intimidating

A large Bullmastiff sits on the grass.

These dogs are very intuitive and great at sensing danger. They are fearless and ferocious and will directly attack a potential threat instead of scaring them off with their bark.

Their intimidating looks hide their loving and caring nature. They quickly make their family their pack, care for them, and love and protect them at all costs. They love children and make the best companions.

Considering their size, many may think that the breed needs lots of exercise; however, it is not so. Bullmastiffs require moderate exercise, but like any other large breed dog, they must be trained and socialized from a young age.

Proper training will help them adapt to new situations and accept new people without getting defensive.

    5. Boxer

One of the most beloved breeds in the USA, Boxers make amazing family guard dogs. Although small, they have a menacing look and are alert and protective of their family.

A Boxer on his soft dog bed looks hungry!

They are naturally protective and take their role as watchdogs very seriously. However, behind that intimidating persona is a very loyal, loving, and playful pet that makes a wonderful companion. They are great with children and crave a lot of time and attention.

Also, Boxers are very energetic; they can be your companion on walks and other physical activities. However, you need to train them not to chase anything and stay down.

They are open to strangers and get along with guests easily. Still, Boxers will quickly notify their owner of a new visitor or any unusual happening in the surroundings.

However, the breed is very susceptible to certain health conditions like heart disease and tumors, so you must take care when adopting them.

    6. Appenzeller Sennenhund

Appenzeller Sennenhund is quite small compared to the other dogs on the list. The medium-sized dog is noted for its fearlessness, making it a great watchdog and guard dog.

Appenzeller Sennenhund guards the property while sitting on dried leaves.

Originally bred to work on farms, the breed is highly intelligent, which makes training them a breeze. Also, they are versatile and capable of performing many tasks, including herding and rescue.

Appenzeller Sennenhunds are friendly, cheerful, and energetic; however, they are wary of strangers. They are very protective of their family; nothing can deter them from their job, not even a juicy steak.

However, they need a lot of space and do well in homes with big yards, where they have plenty of space to play and run. Also, they are better suited to colder climates and may not fare well in hotter climates.

    7. Great Dane

Unlike Scooby-Doo, real-life Great Danes are graceful. Their imposing height is enough to intimidate people unfamiliar with the breed.

Close-up photo of a brown Great Dane.

Great Danes are more of a watchdog than a guard dog, with a bark that can scare away even strong-hearted individuals . But like Scooby Doo, they are “scaredy-cats” and cannot be trusted for protection. However, their height and bark are enough to keep intruders away.

Anyone who knows a Dane knows what gentle giants they truly are. They are great with children and affectionate, playful, and loving. However, they may behave aggressively towards other dogs if not trained and socialized properly.

    8. Cane Corso

In Latin, Cane Corso means “bodyguard dog,” and the dog is a true bodyguard, loyal and devoted to its family.

Cane Corso with autumn leaves background!

Its height and muscular body give the dog an imposing stature. Also, the dog can be aggressive toward strangers. Deterring an attacking Cane Corso can be very difficult, as it becomes impervious to pain.

They are loving and caring towards their family, especially with children. However, they need proper training and socialization and are unsuitable for first-time owners.

They have high exercise needs and are good at many sports, like tracking and dock diving. Also, like most big dogs, the Cane Corso is susceptible to many genetic diseases and has a shorter lifespan.

    9. Akita

Akitas were bred in Japan and are a symbol of good health and long life. They are powerful animals with large builds. They were bred as guard dogs and helped guard the Japanese emperor and his family.

You might want to put a couch cover during Akita’s shedding season.

Akitas are loyal and courageous, and they will protect their owners from any potential threat. They are alert and will only bark when the need arises.

Although Akitas are playful and affectionate towards their owner, they are quite aloof with strangers. Also, the breed is independent and dominant and can become aggressive toward other dogs and animals.

Akitas need adequate training and socialization; otherwise, they develop dominant behaviors and other negative characteristics.

They are a brilliant and independent breed that is not for first-time owners.

    10. Rhodesian Ridgeback

The Rhodesian Ridgeback gets its name from the distinctive ridge of fur that runs along the spine in the opposite direction to the rest of the coat.

A Rhodesian Ridgeback standing on the grass.

The breed was originally bred to hunt and corner lions. This indicates their fearlessness and readiness to take on challenges bigger than themselves. They were also used as guard dogs to protect property and livestock.

Ridgebacks are intelligent and confident, but they can be stubborn as well. They are aloof with strangers, and their dead stares and growls are enough to scare away any mischief.

While they make amazing pets, Ridgebacks can become quite domineering if you do not establish the house hierarchy early. You’ll need to train and socialize them early on so that they do not become aggressive.

Also, Ridgebacks can be very sensitive, so avoid rough treatment and use positive reinforcement while training.

    11. Giant Schnauzer

Giant Schnauzers are from the Bavarian Alps, where they were bred as watchdogs and guard dogs. The bearded breed continues to take its job as a guardian seriously to this day.

A Giant Schnauzer standing in a city park.

They are naturally suspicious of strangers and can scare them away with an intimidating look. Their strong will and intelligence make them amazing guard dogs. They have immense strength and tolerance for pain, which allows them to take on adversaries even larger than them.

They value their family the most and are very loyal. They do best in homes with older children and need to be trained and socialized early.

Schnauzers need constant attention as well as physical and mental stimulation. Also, the breed needs regular grooming to maintain a beautiful coat.

    12. Puli

Pulis are very distinct, thanks to their gorgeous dreadlocks. The small size and beautiful coat can make anyone assume it is a very obedient and shy dog. However, it is far from that.

Hungarian Puli is a breed known to be used as herding dogs.

Behind that furry coat lies an intelligent, ferocious, and loyal friend ready to protect its family. The energetic breed is great with kids, as they make excellent playmates.

They are undercover mops that will take any intruder by surprise. Originally meant for herding, Pulis are fast learners that can outsmart predators.

However, owning the breed can be very time-consuming, especially as their dreadlocks need a lot of grooming.

    13. Caucasian Shepherd Dog

The Caucasian Shepherd Dog is the most famous Russian dog breed today. Originally bred to protect livestock from wolves and bears, the animal retains its protective instincts.

The two Caucasian Shepherd dogs spend time outdoors.

Their guarding characteristics were long recognized, so they were employed to patrol the borders at the Berlin Wall and guard prisoners in the Soviet Gulag camps.

While the dog is sweet and calm with its family, it will spring into action if it senses any threat. It is not very accepting of strangers and can become fierce and powerful in front of intruders.

    14. Beauceron

The largest French sheepdog, the Beauceron, strongly resembles a Doberman Pinscher. They are herding dogs that make great companions.

Beauceron sits on the ground one afternoon.

Their large size and loyalty make them amazing guards. They are exceptionally fond of small and young children and will protect them at all costs. They are fearless and confident against threats and will stand their ground.

However, like other large breeds, Beauceron dogs need proper training and are best for experienced owners. If not trained properly, they may exhibit dominance over their family.

    15. American Staffordshire Terrier

A type of Pitbull dog, the AmStaff is powerful and muscular and is known for its pain tolerance. Coming from a line of fighting dogs, AmStaffs are always game for any opponent. They are ferocious while fighting and show no mercy.

Two American Staffordshire Terrier sit together.

Even though they are on the smaller side, AmStaffs can take on threats much larger than themselves.

They are lovely, calm, and caring towards their family; however, they need to be trained to drive away their hunting instincts. Also, the breed needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation and a great deal of exercise to stay occupied.

    Conclusion

Adopting a pet is no easy decision. While some like small, fluffy companions, others prefer dogs with big personalities that are loving and can double as guardians.

If you, too, prefer guard dogs, be sure to pick one of these best guard dogs for families.

Large and small dogs for guarding a private house

Guard dogs were bred long before the advent of alarms and security systems. And in our time, owners of private houses often keep large, strong and hardy dogs in the yard, which control the territory and warn of danger with a loud bark.

However, not only large breeds have watchdog qualities. If you have not yet decided what kind of pet you want to have – big and strong or still compact – then our selection of dog breeds with watchdog qualities will come in handy. Read and choose the watchman to your taste!

    Guard dog characteristics

A guard dog is capable of signaling an impending threat, an intruder in the yard or home, or the approach of a predator. The pet uses a voice or a certain stance to warn – conventional signs that are clear to her and the owner. In addition, dogs suitable for guarding a private home are distinguished by the following qualities:

    • good health, strength, endurance to tirelessly explore every corner of the master’s property;
    • courage, fearlessness;
    • distrust of strangers;
    • a high level of intelligence to quickly learn new things and memorize commands;
    • observation to control the territory and notice the slightest changes;
    • benevolence, love towards the owner and members of his family.

    Watch dog breeds

Guard dogs for the home are usually large and suitable for permanent outdoor keeping. Someone prefers pets of large breeds, whose height at the withers is 60 cm and above, weight – more than 30 kg. Watchmen of such dimensions are more suitable for keeping in the yard, where warm enclosures are built for them. A large animal is able to scare away an ill-wisher with its appearance alone, and at the same time it will be complaisant and friendly in character.

Also, as a watchman, you can choose a medium-sized dog that is suitable for guarding a private house and at the same time can live under the same roof with family and children. Medium-sized breeds are characterized by weight from 10 to 25 kg, height at the withers – from 40 to 55 cm. Small dimensions allow you to quickly move around the territory and deftly dodge in the event of an attack, and strong developed jaws can scare a stranger, even if the pet is not aggression and never attacks people.

Dog breeds of large and medium sizes that are suitable for guarding a private home:

    • Australian Kelpie is a native herding breed. The pet not only knows how to control the herd entrusted to her, but he also has a sentinel instinct. Kelpie faithfully serves one master and fulfills all his commands. A responsible, attentive and mobile pet can be safely entrusted with the protection of the site.

However, the pet is human-oriented – it needs the attention of the owner, constant contact. Therefore, life on a leash or in a street enclosure is contraindicated for a pit bull.
    • The American Staffordshire Terrier is a muscular, energetic sportsman and a natural watchdog. Depending on the upbringing, the dog can be an affectionate pet of the whole family or an aggressive, formidable guardian. And also in moderation to combine all the listed qualities. • American Eskimo (eski) is a playful, active, cheerful dog with a pretty appearance. Behind the compact size and mischievous muzzle lies a personality with excellent working qualities. Eski is not just a friendly companion, but also a quick-witted, responsible, sonorous watchman. When buying a puppy, you should take into account that the standard of the American Kennel Club defines 3 growth varieties of the Eskimo Spitz: the one reaches 22.9- 30.5 cm at the withers, miniature – 30.5 – 38.1 cm, standard – 38.1 – 48.3 cm.

Loneliness and keeping on a chain in the yard are contraindicated for a dog.

He is wary of strangers and uninvited guests: he announces the appearance of strangers with loud barking, avoids communication, watches vigilantly and can fight back if he feels threatened.
    • Doberman is one of the smartest breeds according to Coren. It has excellent watchdog qualities. The Doberman is valued for fearlessness, the ability to make decisions independently, vigilance, indefatigable energy and a stable psyche. The pet easily remembers commands, but obeys only one owner. The dog is extremely sociable and needs the company of the owner, so living alone in the yard will not suit her.

    Raising guard dogs

Raising a future watchman should be as responsible and diligent as any other pet. From the first days, a guard dog puppy is taught a nickname and rules of behavior in the house. Explain what can and cannot be done.

As they grow up, they are taught basic commands and taught to control their instinct so that they use guarding abilities only when needed. For example, they explain that one should only vote to inform the owners of an approaching threat. And they forbid barking at everyone, including at the slightest rustle.

To develop useful skills in a pet, the owner will need perseverance and discipline. In the learning process, it is also important to show understanding and continue with the lessons, even if it seems that the progress is minimal. The dog will certainly learn new knowledge, it just needs time. If you do not engage in education at all, then the pet can bark and show aggression for no reason – thereby misleading the owner or scaring others.

    Guard dog care

Despite the excellent ability of guard dogs to adapt to living conditions, they need attention and care. How to take care of your pet so that he stays active and healthy longer:

    1. First of all, timely vaccination and deworming, as well as routine examinations by a veterinarian, will be required.
    2. For a comfortable rest, the dog should have its own place – a couch in the house or an aviary with a booth in the yard. You will also need bowls for food and water, a collar, a leash, a muzzle, toys, sports equipment, products for caring for hair, eyes, ears and teeth.
    3. Your pet’s coat, whatever size it may be, should be brushed regularly to prevent the formation of tangles, which in turn prevent the skin from breathing and can lead to various skin diseases. In addition, the dog must be washed several times a year, preferably with a special shampoo. Eyes, ears and teeth are important to be regularly inspected for inflammation and contamination and cleaned. If brushing and toothpaste isn’t an option, chewable treats designed specifically to help prevent tartar build up are a good option.
    4. Another important factor for maintaining good health is sufficient physical activity. It’s not enough for a pet to just sit in the yard and run around in circles. For normal health, maintaining normal physical shape and psyche, he needs daily walks, active games and sports.

    Guard Dog Feeding Recommendations

Guard dogs are very active – they are constantly on the move, alert and on edge. It seems that the energy reserves of pets are truly inexhaustible. Loyal watchmen are always ready to sound an alarm, to repulse ill-wishers and even attackers. With a mobile lifestyle, a dog needs a sufficiently high-calorie diet that will help restore strength and maintain normal health and appearance.

Among the variety of foods you can find specialized lines designed for pets with increased physical activity. This food is more nutritious and contains more protein than daily diets for pets, its composition is balanced and takes into account the individual needs of the body. It is preferable to choose premium and super premium foods made from quality ingredients.

For example, PRO PLAN® OPTIBALANCE® for medium and large dogs is formulated by experienced animal nutrition experts and veterinarians. Formulated with the right amount of nutrients to replenish your dog’s energy reserves, a vitamin/mineral complex and high quality protein to help maintain healthy joints, teeth, skin and coat. Do not forget that, in addition to a balanced quality diet, the pet should have free access to clean drinking water.

A guard dog is a true friend and protector, which, with proper upbringing, will faithfully serve the owner. But regardless of the breed and working qualities, for a long and active life, the pet will need comfort, care, proper nutrition and, of course, the attention and love of the owner.

Psychologists advise buying a dog for a child of 6-7 years old. This age can be considered the minimum. It is at the age of 7 that the child will be able to take care of the dog and walk with him. At the very beginning, it is advisable for the baby to acquire small dogs with a calm character.

    Small and kind dogs:

    • Spitz
    • Miniature Terrier
    • Dachshund
    • Poodle
    • Pinscher

These dogs are small in size and therefore do not take up much space in the house. They are also kind and patient.

    Dog breeds hypoallergenic for children

If you have an allergic child in your house, this does not mean that you should not get a pet. There are breeds that do not shed and are not prone to skin ailments. Allergies are usually triggered by flaky skin during shedding and a lot of hair that comes out. Of course, dogs without hair at all would be ideal, but they need special care. In addition, they are quite temperamental and will not tolerate games with children.

    Hypoallergenic dog breeds:

    • Chinese Crested
    • Mexican Nude
    • Yorkshire Terrier
    • Border Terrier
    • Portuguese water
    • Maltese
    • Shih-tsu

Among these breeds there are also those with long hair. Despite this, they do not have a molt.

How can a dog be friends with a child?

    • The child may accidentally push or pull the dog by the tail or ear. The dog instinctively may growl or snap. This is a completely normal reaction. You need to show the child and the dog that this is not to be done. Command the dog “Place” or “no”. Explain to the kid that the pet is unpleasant and painful.
    • Often dogs are in conflict with children, as they perceive them as equals. The owner of the dog is one. Therefore, children should, in the presence of their parents, give commands to the dog, and she must carry them out. Reward your dog with treats. At the same time, parents should praise the dog too. Thus, the dog will understand that the baby is also the owner and needs to be obeyed.
    • Usually children 5-6 years old will not be able to give commands hard. Therefore, parents must constantly tell the dog how to behave, stop all attempts to bite or growl at the baby. For the correct behavior of the dog must be praised. If there are errors in behavior, then punish. By the age of 7, the child will already know how to behave.
    • A dog can be jealous.
