AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Vienna KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • I also wanted to say that we are very pleased with your daycare, the staff, and everything about the daycare. [Our baby] is always smiling when we drop him off, and still smiling when we pick him up. This speaks volumes about your caring staff, in that he feels very comfortable at daycare.

    Brian M. – KinderCare Parent
  • We had a great experience at your center and I can tell [my child] began to get more comfortable every week, and loves the teachers and his friends. Snigdha is a wonderful Center Director and we felt very welcome at Vienna KinderCare. I will definitely recommend your center to people looking for daycare in the future.

    Youlee D. – KinderCare Parent
  • We truly appreciate your entire staff at the Infant Classroom who has taken great care of [our daughter]. Thank you, Snigdha, for ensuring our daughter has great care at Vienna Kindercare!

    Richard C. – KinderCare Parent
  • I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate everything you’ve done to help [our daughter] improve her ability to relate and play with kids her age. She’s gone from the various comments of her inability to talk at school and relate to other kids to being able to play with kids her age with less prompting by an adult. It’s truly a tribute to both her and the efforts of your team at Vienna location, including the Center Director, Snigdha Ravy, and the teachers, Ms. Larisa, Ms. Hengameh and Ms. Sharon, all of whom never stopped helping her. You’ve helped build the foundation for her improved academic achievement, focus and social interactions. The impact of your help is so significant and will help her for the rest of her life. I truly can’t thank you enough and will be forever grateful.

    Eric K. – KinderCare Parent
  • I’ve wanted to let the staff at Vienna KinderCare know, for many years now, how much I enjoyed being at their center between 1995 when I started at age 3, to 2001 when I left there at age 9 to move to Canada. I fondly remember Ms. Sharon, and if there are other teachers that were there during that time that are still there today (Ms. Mary, Ms. Rosa to name two I remember well). I want you to know that I am now twenty one, and in college, having graduated from high school in 2011. While I was only at KinderCare on school breaks once I started elementary school, I benefited a lot from their care, and loved their large supply of toys and music tapes. (Now I guess the tapes are CD’s!) I am totally blind, and enjoyed playing with the toys that made noise the most and listening to the different story and music tapes the center had back then. Today I am still an avid music lover of all kinds of music, and I credit KinderCare for playing a part in that. I still remember some of the children from when I was there and the experiences I had with them, and now, I know that most of those children are either in the latter years of elementary school, in middle school, high school or college, just like me. How time flies.
Keep up your great work. Say hello to the veteran teachers that are still there that taught when I was attending. Let them know I fondly remember them and thank them for the kindness they showed me during my time there.

    Ana G. – KinderCare Parent
  • I have wonderful things to say about Vienna KinderCare. The teachers and staff there have always been amazing, loving and very caring. My son has thrived and learned so much at this school! He knows every one there by name, and loves them all. It has always warmed my heart to see how much he loved being there. There have been times he didn’t even want to go home, which I always took as a compliment and assurance that he was receiving the best care and attention he needed. I will be forever thankful for each and every person there, and how they have always gone above and beyond for our family, especially how accommodating and loving they have been in regards to my son’s needs and health concerns. Vienna KinderCare has made a positive impact in our life, and have become our family.

Kindergartens and schools in Hungary

Preschools in Hungary take children from the age of 3 and work with them until they reach the stage of development that is necessary to start a full-fledged school education. As a rule, pupils leave kindergartens at the age of 7. But, if the child is not ready to go to school in Hungary, he can stay longer in the garden.

The nursery accepts children from the age of 6 months.

Hungarian gardens are well-organized

Conditions for admitting a child to Hungarian kindergartens

A prerequisite for admission to kindergarten is cleanliness and relative independence of the child. That is, he must go to the toilet on his own and be able to eat with the help of cutlery.

Three groups are formed in kindergartens with children of different ages and one with pupils of different ages (3-5 years old). Up to 25 children are recruited into groups, with whom two teachers and a nanny work.

Kindergarten enrollment takes place in May, and it is better to do it in advance, because in Budapest and large cities it is quite difficult to get a place in the garden. If the kindergarten cannot accept the child due to the lack of free places, he is obliged to take care of the admission of the child to another nearest institution. However, again, this does not always work out, since kindergartens are overloaded.

According to Russian immigrants, extremely attentive and friendly teachers work in Hungarian kindergartens hours per day).

Non-residents and foreigners can enroll their child in kindergarten on the same basis as residents. If you want the baby to attend a nursery, then you must provide the local district administration with a certificate stating that the child’s mother is going to work (study). Nobody checks its authenticity, so after registering for a nursery or kindergarten, you just need to regularly pay bills for preschool education.

Also, the parents (parent) must provide the child’s birth certificate and their identity card (copies).

Peculiarities of a child being in a kindergarten

Pre-school education in Hungary provides for the length of the school year from September 1 to August 31. Kindergartens work 5 days a week for 10-12 hours.

Meals are provided in accordance with the request of the parents. A child can be fed both throughout the day (at least 3 times) and before lunch.

Daytime naps are not required in Hungarian kindergartens. After lunch, tables are cleared in each institution and beds are placed. But, if the child does not want to sleep, they will not force him. In addition, children are not woken up – they wake up on their own. In some gardens, children sleep in sleeping bags outdoors until the first frost.

Many Hungarian kindergartens practice daily visits to salt caves. The mandatory program for the aesthetic and emotional development of children includes regular trips to museums and theaters.

In addition, primary education in Hungary provides for the possibility of attending electives. These can be:

  • swimming pool;
  • sports activities;
  • dance groups;
  • music lessons;
  • drawing groups;
  • foreign language classes.

Teachers take students to classes directly from the kindergarten group.

Enough toys for everyone!

Toys in the garden are constantly updated and, unlike domestic realities, please with their diversity and modernity.

Kindergarten fees

The Hungarian pre-school education system provides for private (paid) and public (free) kindergartens. In the case of free preschool education, parents pay only for children’s lunches and additional services (electives, excursions, etc.). In private gardens, pricing is completely dependent on the administration.

Kindergarten in Hungary is both learning and… bright entertainment!

In state kindergartens, payment includes two items of expenses: for staying in the institution and for food. The first part is determined by family income. For example, a family with a minimum income level may not pay for a crèche by providing an appropriate certificate. The payment for monthly meals is approximately 10,000 forints ($36.6 USD), and for days of absence due to illness, payment is not charged.

The total cost of a child’s stay in kindergarten, including meals, is about 20,000 forints ($73.2 USD).

Payment type Amount
Monthly payment (accommodation and meals) 20000 forints ($73.2 USD)
One-time payment (stay and meals) 500 forints ($1.83 USD)

You can learn more about how much it costs to live in Hungary by subscribing to our blog newsletter.

In some districts of Budapest, pre-school education is completely free, as the local authorities bear the cost of staying and feeding the children. Surprised? Then share your impressions with us by leaving a comment on the article!

Kindergartens in Austria and Switzerland

European countries can generally offer their citizens quality services and excellent early childhood education programs. For those who dream of moving to permanent residence in countries such as Switzerland or Austria, it may be interesting to know how the preschool education system is built in these countries and is it possible to place a child in a kindergarten?

Which Austrian kindergarten should I choose?

Austria has a developed network of preschool institutions. Approximately 265 million euros are allocated annually for public kindergartens, and every year this amount is only increasing. However, not everyone manages to get a place in the kindergarten group. Sometimes you have to queue up.

For those who have a residence permit, getting a referral to a kindergarten is much easier. It will take about 10 minutes to leave the completed questionnaire at the district magistrate’s office, but then you will have to wait 2-3 months for the issue to be resolved.

When looking for a place in a kindergarten, you need to know that in Austria almost 40% are private kindergartens and only 60% are public kindergartens. According to citizens who have moved to this country, the quality of services in these kindergartens is not much different, because there are uniform standards for everyone. However, there are still differences.

State kindergartens employ professional educators who have many years of experience and work on quality developmental programs. Various leisure activities are held with children, they visit museums and theaters. Kindergarten fees range from 50 to 100 euros per month, and in Vienna there are even free kindergartens where parents pay only symbolic amounts.

The main disadvantage of public preschool institutions is a long queue.

Naturally, the monthly fee in private kindergartens is much higher, up to 350 euros. And although teachers work on the same programs as state institutions, there are more of them in each group, and the number of children is limited. In addition, children are offered additional education in the form of swimming, tennis, music and dancing. There are even bilingual kindergartens, for example, Russian-German.

Otherwise, private and public kindergartens are very similar. There is no division of children by age, in each group there are children from 1 to 5 years old. Many regime moments differ significantly from those adopted in Russian preschool institutions. There is no such thing as a general quiet hour. During the day, children can sleep only if they wish, lying on standard mattresses right on the floor. From the age of five, all children begin to prepare for school.

Important to know! According to the laws of Austria, citizens who apply for a residence permit as a financially independent person do not have the right to employment. Therefore, a preschool institution can legally refuse non-working parents to receive children for the whole day, that is, until 18.00. Children only come to class.

Pre-schools in Switzerland

Pre-school education in Switzerland is different from the Austrian system. You should know that in this European country, the cost of preschool education is the highest in the world. Only 25% of kids attend public kindergartens, and private institutions cost parents a tidy sum. But even in this situation it is difficult to arrange a child in a kindergarten, and in a nursery it is almost impossible.

Places for children under the age of three are sorely lacking.

For parents whose children attend kindergarten, there is a flexible system of tax benefits. However, citizens who have issued a residence permit through the payment of a lump-sum tax, these benefits are not allowed. The fact is that foreign citizens do not have the right to employment in Switzerland, therefore they do not receive any income, and benefits do not apply to them.

Due to the high cost of pre-school education and the lack of places in children’s institutions, the concept of home education has been developed in the country. Preschool children are usually taken care of by mothers-housewives or grandparents. Of course, you can use the help of a nanny. However, the cost of one hour of professional babysitting is at least 25 francs.

What are Swiss preschools like?

Kindergarten attendance is obligatory from the age of 4. There is no division by age. Groups are formed by the number of children, which should not exceed 15 people. When a child turns 4 years old, he or she begins attending preschool classes. The academic year runs from August to April 30th.

The population of this country at the state level has accepted as a standard the idea, which is the free development of preschool children. Adults believe that you should not interfere with the natural development of the child. It is the teacher’s duty to keep order. Kindergarten workers nurture independence in children. It is considered quite natural when the teacher does not pay attention to the kid who took off his hat or planted a bruise on a walk.

Children are not taught to read, they are not taught to write or count, all this is transferred to the school. They play a lot with children, learn poems and sing popular songs.

Most of the time children walk in the fresh air, so they grow up physically developed and independent.

What you should know

There are three Russian-speaking kindergartens in the capital. On average, the cost of 1 day is 150 francs, that is, per month – 3,300 francs.

Indeed, in modern conditions of a shortage of vacancies among employers, progressive robotization of production and rising unemployment, the demand for special knowledge, skills and practical experience are of paramount importance. Also important is the possible practical creative connection of students with a potential employer even during the period of study, which, of course, will greatly increase the chances of getting a job with a decent wage. This is understandable if we talk about high school students who have already consciously chosen their future path. And what about the junior and middle managers? Are projects available to them? Do they need her? What character and form can the project activity of younger schoolchildren have?
Let’s try to find answers to these questions. First of all, to the question: do younger students need project activities, the answer is obvious if the term “project activity” for younger students is understood as a form of self-expression of the child, his individual vision of the world and his own idea of the proposed topic.
At the first stage of teaching fine arts, the development of students’ interest in creative activity is of paramount importance. The time spent on classes in a routine forced-edifying form can be confidently considered lost. Since children who are tired of school lessons are unlikely to accept the continuation of school classes (in their understanding) with interest and pleasure. Any game form of teaching younger students in institutions of additional education is preferable, but if we talk about children’s art schools of the academic style, it should not be reduced to circle work on interests. So, a compromise is needed, which allows both to arouse the interest of students in educational activities, and to conduct full-fledged classes according to the training program.
The principle of the primacy of ideas can become such a compromise. That is, the basis of the stage of the curriculum is an idea (any project), the implementation of which requires the acquisition of the necessary knowledge and skills. If children strive to implement an interesting idea, then in order to achieve their goal, they will be willing to study and more successfully master the basic educational material. Ideas or creative projects can be either individual or collective. Parents can also be involved in the implementation of children’s creative projects. For example: aesthetic arrangement of a children’s room, a place for classes or a yard. A very interesting and promising design project for a child’s bed can become. Everyone knows that the bed is the territory that the child considers his property, the world of his fantasies, his universe, where he retires from everything and everyone. Designing and implementing the design of your bed will interest any child. Here, the actual implementation of the idea becomes a necessary condition, the fulfillment of which is impossible without the participation of parents.
If we talk about the project activities of students, then the implementation of creative ideas is of great importance. An unrealized project, on which a lot of effort and time has been spent, is more likely to discourage interest in creative project activities than to activate it. On the contrary, even an insignificant project that has received a material embodiment will become not only a source of pride for the child, but also a powerful incentive for further development and improvement. The possibility of implementing children’s projects should be given priority, therefore, when planning project activities in the educational process, one should, first of all, think about the relevance of the project and its practical implementation.

Examples of collective creative design activities can be projects for the improvement of the school yard or public places, school interior design.
Usually, in addition to the departments of fine and decorative arts, there are music and theater departments in children’s art schools and other institutions of additional education. It is not uncommon for the same children to simultaneously attend both the department of fine and decorative arts and the music or theater department. For example, the development of a design for a puppet show, which includes the design of stage scenery, the development and production of puppet characters, can become a collective children’s project work. If a child is involved in the play, then he will certainly be interested in creating the image of his hero according to his own vision, and he will participate with great enthusiasm in the play with the doll he created.

There are many such examples of project activities of younger students. The main and indispensable condition for this activity is the personal, authorial participation of children, their involvement in the process of the birth of the idea itself and in all further stages of its implementation.
When involving middle-aged schoolchildren in project activities, it is desirable to take into account the individual interests of children, their capabilities and inclinations for any activity, their sphere of hobbies. At this level, it is quite possible to implement more significant creative projects. For example: designing the interiors of a school, a classroom, making themed layouts for a school museum, and the like. It should be taken into account that even at the stage of the emergence of an idea, it is necessary to coordinate actions with the school administration, the class teacher, the head of the museum, since the main goal is to implement the idea. A child involved in such a project should feel its importance, involvement in the cause, the result of which will remain for many years.

At this stage of the project activity, students can actively develop their primary professional design and construction skills, introduce them to the basics of professional design and design activities. This work will require an in-depth study of drawing, volume-scale modeling, geometric and mathematical calculations, as well as search and research work.
The project work of middle-aged schoolchildren will not only bring them closer to professional training, but will also reveal individual inclinations and preferences, which in the future will determine the direction of preparatory work in the chosen specialization.
For high school students, professional orientation in the field of additional education should become a priority. And here project activity can take a leading position, and not only in fine arts or design. To paraphrase a well-known saying, I would say this: it is better to try once than to see a hundred times. You can sit next to the driver a hundred times and admire his work, but the real excitement and satisfaction from driving will come only when you get the opportunity to drive yourself. High school students may well become authors or co-authors of large, socially significant projects. Such as landscape design, arrangement of recreation areas and parks of a village or city, the creation of monuments and places of worship, the design of springs and wells, the design of mass celebrations and much more. Of course, the implementation of such projects depends entirely on the administration of the local authorities, and the coordination of the proposed design work should be carried out at the initial stage.
In order for such a project to take place, first of all, both high school students and their leader must interest the administration and demonstrate their competence. For the administration, such a proposal may be interesting, since it is known that design developments are not cheap. Students of institutions of additional education perform such work, as a rule, on a voluntary basis or for a very nominal fee. Nevertheless, the conditional income of high school students can be considered not only the accumulated practical experience, but also a portfolio, which in the future can provide an invaluable service when entering a higher educational institution in the chosen specialty.
In the work on large projects, students can put into practice the acquired professional knowledge, get acquainted not only with the creative design part of the project activity, but also with the material and technical side, learn the basics of materials science, design estimates. That is, to get a complete picture of the chosen profession.
In 2015, students of the Tugulym Children’s Art School developed and presented to the Tugulym District Administration a project for the reconstruction of the Alley of Glory. The development included not only sketch drawings, but also large-scale models of the Walk of Fame itself and the proposed compositions. Design work was carried out on the calculation and production of drawings of frames, bases of steles and the “Bayonets” monument. For the manufacture of architectural compositions, we proposed fiberglass and a new composite material based on polyester resins, the so-called “artificial marble”. Work on the project included carrying out calculations of the strength and stability of structures to aerodynamic loads and atmospheric precipitation. An approximate calculation of the cost of materials, the manufacture of architectural compositions, their structural elements and installation work was also calculated and presented.
In the future, in my opinion, it would be nice to introduce such works into the practice of graduation projects for graduates of children’s art schools of the departments of fine, decorative and applied arts. Moreover, in my deep conviction, there is a need to create design departments in children’s art schools, and possibly some professionally specialized departments. If, for example, in a city or village there is an enterprise specializing in the production of products with an artistic basis, then the initial targeted training of future specialists will be of interest to the management of the enterprise. In this case, close cooperation between the enterprise and the children’s art school can be carried out, and students can count on reserving jobs for them.

The self-supporting activity of high school students could also be a good practical experience. Work for material reward should instill in students a sense of responsibility for their work. Children can gain experience in communicating with customers, which is of great importance in the work of a designer. Self-supporting activities of high school students in children’s art schools of the departments of fine and decorative arts can be carried out in the following areas:
1. Design developments and services (from small private orders to large-scale design projects in various areas, including interior and landscape design).
2. Fulfillment of individual orders of arts and crafts.
3. Performance of works in sculpture, painting and graphics.
4. Development of design for various events.
5. Conducting master classes in painting, graphics, arts and crafts and folk crafts.
6. Development of advertising, logos, banners, advertising booklets.
As a result, it can be stated with confidence that the development of students’ project activities should become a significant contribution in addition to traditional academic teaching in children’s art schools. It is quite possible that the principle of design activity can be applied not only by the departments of fine and decorative arts. Perhaps teachers of music, choreography, theater and other arts will find their own forms of project activities that can have an effective impact on the success of the educational process.

Self-government system

The system of children’s school parliament in 2007 passed the stage of reform. The structure of class and school self-government has changed. The highest legislative body of children’s self-government of the school is the conference. The permanent legislature is the school parliament. Parliament is formed on an elective basis. On September 21, the first elections of the president of the school parliament and representatives to the children’s City School Parliament were held.

On the basis of the activities of the parliament, ministries were formed: education, culture, sports, press, social policy and labor. The ministries included representatives of small towns – classes. The prime ministers are the teachers of the school. Elections for city administrations were held in the classrooms.

The purpose of the self-government reform was to intensify the social activity of students, create conditions for versatile activities, for self-realization and self-adaptation of the individual, for establishing links with out-of-school organizations.

The first result of the changes was the formation of the leadership team of the children’s school parliament. This made it possible to create conditions for the joint activities of the Parliament, children’s associations and the City School Parliament.

World Trade Center 1, New York: description and photos, reviews, exact address

World Trade Center 1, or Freedom Tower, is the famous central building of the World Trade Center complex in New York. The tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere is the seventh tallest building on the planet. Erected on the site of the tragically famous Twin Towers, the majestic building has become a symbol of American rebirth and resilience. The World Trade Center consists of five skyscrapers, Memorial 9/11 and art galleries.

Construction history

As a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, the World Trade Center in Manhattan was completely destroyed. But the next year, the city authorities announced a competition for projects for the construction of a new building. At the end of 2002, the project of the Polish-born architect D. Libeskind became the winner of the competition. However, the original project was revised, refined and improved more than once. Construction began only in 2006.

In 2012 the building was completed and the glazing of the floors began. The last stage of construction is the installation of the radio antenna spire, weighing 758 tons and 124 m high.

The construction of the Freedom Tower skyscraper was completed in May 2013. The retail and office center was opened in November 2014.

Description of the Freedom Tower in New York

Slightly spiral shape softens the monumentality of the huge building. It seems that the building is striving upwards, soaring to the heavens with its huge spire. The feeling of lightness is enhanced by the intricate play of reflections created by the bluish glass details of the exterior. From the spire of the radio antenna, a light beam hits the sky at a height of 300 m.

Reinforced concrete was used in the construction of the lower part of the skyscraper. This was done for safety reasons. So that this part of the structure does not resemble a bunker, it was finished with glass parts in the form of prisms.

The total height of the Freedom Tower is 541 m. The width of the sides is 61 m. The building consists of 108 floors, 5 of which are located below ground level.

World Trade Center 1 houses nearly 242,000 m2 of retail and office space. From its 24 m high main hall you can reach the offices, exhibition halls, information center and restaurants. The skyscraper houses offices of representative offices of companies, publishing houses, well-known international corporations.

At an altitude of 382 m is one of the most popular tourist spots – the observation deck of the World Trade Center 1. From the windows of the site you can enjoy amazing views of the Statue of Liberty, the Hudson River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and a fantastic business center. There are also cafes and restaurants where you can drink a cup of coffee at a table while admiring the magnificent panorama. For those who are interested in the history of the shopping center, touch screens are installed on the observation deck. They contain a lot of useful information.

Even taking the elevator to the observation deck of the Freedom Tower in New York is impressive. The walls of the elevator are displays that, during the ascent, demonstrate the history of the transformation of the wild island of Manhattan into a modern metropolis.

Interesting Facts

  • The building was originally called the Freedom Tower. But the rent of space here was not in demand. The owners of the building asked the local authorities to change the name to make it less reminiscent of a terrorist attack. As a result, the building was named World Trade Center 1.
  • The height of the skyscraper at 541 m was not chosen by chance. It corresponds to 1776 feet. The number 1776 symbolizes a similar year – the time of the proclamation of the Declaration of Independence of the United States.
  • During the construction of the building, some journalists and civil society organizations criticized the idea of making the base of reinforced concrete. They stated that the use of such a durable material was an unnecessary measure caused by fear. Critics argued that in this case, the skyscraper should not be called the Freedom Tower, but the Tower of Fear.

World Trade Center: Past, Present, Future

The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in New York destroyed not just one of the main attractions of Manhattan. As a result of the attack, not only the Twin Towers were completely destroyed, but the entire complex of the World Trade Center (WTC), as well as a number of adjacent buildings.

The collapse of skyscrapers turned an entire area of the city into a so-called. “ground zero” is a place that, 20 years after the tragedy, turned into a large-scale memorial to the victims of the attack by the authorities and initiative citizens. In 2021, the reconstruction of the “ground zero” is almost completed: not only the memorial itself, but also new buildings were erected on the site of the devastating disaster, designed to become a new center for business, trade and transport activity in Manhattan.

How the affected area of New York has changed – from the time of the construction of buildings to the present day – we tell in the material “Voice of America”.

WTC-1

In 1972, architects around the world welcomed the emergence of a new champion among high-rise buildings. The North Tower of the World Trade Center has become the tallest building in history, pushing the New York Empire State Building off its pedestal.

Construction was started in 1966 in the quarter, which were part of the so-called. Radio Row is a once bustling commercial and residential area in Lower Manhattan. The erected tower, built by the architect Minoru Yamasaki, towered over New York at a height of 417 meters (this record was broken at 1974 Sears Tower skyscraper in Chicago).

The North Tower was the first building to receive a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. The hijacked plane crashed into a skyscraper between the 93rd and 99th floors, as a result of which all exits from the building above the collision site were completely blocked.

The actual impact occurred at 8:46 am. Less than two hours later, at 10:28, the North Tower collapsed.

Ten years after the attack, in July 2011, a large-scale memorial was completed on the site of the collapsed tower. Designed by architects Michael Arad and Peter Walker, the memorial was a huge pool, from the perimeter of which, from a height of nine meters, water continuously descends into a square recess in the center of the memorial.

According to architect Michael Arad, the flowing water and the huge empty space in the center of the memorial symbolize “voids that cannot be filled.” The design became the largest artificial waterfall in all of North America.

Along the perimeter of the pool there is a bronze parapet, on which the names of the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, as well as those who died as a result of the terrorist attack on the territory of the WTC-26 February 19, are inscribed93 years (a monument dedicated to the victims of this attack was destroyed during the collapse of the towers).

The title of the first tower of the World Trade Center in 2009 passed to a skyscraper that was erected near the site of the collapse of the North Tower. Originally referred to as the Freedom Tower, the new skyscraper opened in 2014. It stood 542 meters tall, including a 124-meter roof spire, making it the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.

In 2005, an observation deck was opened on the top floors of the new WTC-1, offering a panoramic view of New York and its surrounding areas.

WTC-2

At the time of completion in 1973, the building of the South Tower (aka WTC-2) was the second tallest building in the world, only a few meters behind its neighbor, WTC-1. The height of the skyscraper was 415 meters, and the number of floors was the same as that of the second tower – 110.

Shortly before the tragedy, the Port Authority, which owned the World Trade Center site, agreed to a 99-year lease of the Twin Towers and adjacent buildings to US real estate developer Larry Silverstein for $3. 2 billion. (left) a second plane crashes. A fire breaks out in the skyscraper, which further damages the structural elements, which leads to the collapse of the building. Although the attack on the North Tower occurred earlier, it was the WTC-2 that collapsed first – the building collapsed less than an hour after the impact, at 9:59.

In July 2011, the construction of a memorial was completed on the site of the WTC-2 foundation. Its authors were the same American-Israeli architect Michael Arad and landscape designer Peter Walker.

On the bronze parapet are the names of not only those who were on board the hijacked plane and in the WTC-2 skyscraper, but also the victims of two other terrorist attacks on September 11: passengers and crew members of the hijacked Flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania, as well as victims of the attack on Pentagon.

The name of the WTC-2 should subsequently be transferred to a skyscraper, which is being built near the memorial. In this image, we see the unfinished basement floors of a building whose construction was suspended in 2013.

Numerous murals, painted by street artists in 2013 with the permission of the authorities, decorate the currently suspended construction site.

The future design of the second tower of the World Trade Center has changed over time. So, for example, among the original versions of the skyscraper is the project of the Danish company Bjarke Ingels Group, which is a building of seven sections installed on top of each other.

Foster + Partners presented a different version of the building – a skyscraper with four diamond-shaped roofs, the design of which was presented in 2006.

WTC-3

Built in 1981, the 22-story Vista International Hotel was the first branded hotel in Lower Manhattan when it opened. The hotel was the target of terrorist attacks eight years before the events of September 11: in 1993, a terrorist detonated a bomb in an underground parking lot, killing six people and damaging the premises under the hotel.

In 1994, after renovations, the hotel reopened its doors to guests, and a year later the hotel was taken over by Marriott International, which renamed it the Marriott World Trade Center.

After the hijacked planes crashed into the skyscrapers, the hotel staff evacuated their guests and also helped hundreds of people fleeing the North Tower to escape from the disaster area. They led people through the hotel lobby, directing them to the exit.

The collapsed South Tower literally cut the hotel in half. The collapse of WTC-1 also buried under the rubble and most of the hotel. According to The New York Times, the collapse of the building killed two hotel employees and 41 firefighters who were on site.

The site of what used to be the Marriott Hotel has become part of the memorial complex. The Port Authority, which owns the territory of the World Trade Center, terminated the lease agreement with Marriott, thus releasing it from the obligation to renovate the hotel.

400 oak trees were planted on the territory of the former hotel, surrounding the Twin Towers memorials, and two buildings were built, which housed the service and technical premises of the memorial, as well as the security service.

However, with the destruction of the building, the name “WTC-3” did not disappear anywhere. Today, under this name, an 80-story skyscraper built in 2018 is known. Its height is 328 meters, which allowed it to enter the top three tallest buildings in the complex after the completion of the construction of all towers.

WTC-3’s distinguishing features are its K-shaped exterior steel frame and scenic terraces on the 17th, 60th and 76th floors.

WTC-4

Next to the skyscrapers, there was also a nine-storey building WTC-4. Conceived as an office building, it opened its doors to its first tenants in 1977.

Most of the building was destroyed by the collapse of the South Tower. The ruins of the WTC-4 were completely demolished as part of the clearing of the ground-zero area from debris.

The history of WTC-4 did not end there. In 2010, Silverstein Properties received permission to build and operate a new skyscraper on the site of a demolished office building.

The 72-storey building was opened in 2013. Its height was 297 meters, which made the skyscraper the 4th tallest among the other buildings of the complex. Its architect, Fumihiko Maki, described WTC-4 as “a minimalistic tower that looks dignified, restrained, but with dignity.”

A third of WTC4’s office space serves as the new headquarters for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Other office tenants include the city government and a number of private companies.

WTC-5

This small building in the picture is the fifth building complex in the World Trade Center. The building was opened in 1972, accommodating such employers as Credit Suisse First Boston and Morgan Stanley within its walls.

In this picture we can already see what the building looked like two weeks after the disaster, even before the ground zero was cleared.

In 2021, Kohn Peterson Fox proposed the design of the new WTC 5 tower. It is expected that if the proposed design and construction plan is approved, then work could begin in 2023 and be completed in 2028.

In addition to office space, the project also provides for living quarters in the skyscraper. The new tower was criticized by enterprising Manhattan residents, who said that the developer plans to create a skyscraper with luxury housing, which will not have enough, in their opinion, affordable housing options.

On the site of the original WTC-5 building, one of the most expressive structures built on the ground-zero territory was subsequently erected. This is Oculus – a large-scale transport hub, opened in 2016. Oculus was called upon to restore rail service between Lower Manhattan and northeast New Jersey (which had been suspended after the 2001 attacks).

The station is flanked by a distinctive white roof made up of peculiar arches. According to the architect Santiago Calatrava, the design of the project should resemble a dove released from the hands.

Photo: Vladimir Badikov, VOA

The project itself became the most expensive train station in US history: its cost exceeded $4 billion, almost double its original budget.

WTC-6

Unlike the rest of the WTC buildings, the sixth building of the complex was intended for federal employees rather than private companies. The WTC-6 building, built in 1974, housed the services of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Labor.

WTC-6. Photo: Long Island and NYC Places that are no more WordPress blog

The photo shows that the debris of skyscrapers broke through the central part of the building, as a result of which its operation was impossible. WTC-6 was demolished as part of the ground zero cleanup.

At the moment, the WTC-1 tower is located on the territory of the former sixth building, and the Ronald Perelman Center for the Arts is under construction (it is planned to open in 2023).

WTC-7

In 1987, the 47-storey building WTC-7 was opened. During the September 11 attacks, the building was badly damaged when the North Tower collapsed, causing a major fire that burned uncontrollably for nearly seven hours. After that, the WTC-7 building collapsed.

WTC-7. Photo: Roberto Rabanne

A 2008 report by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology states that the collapse of WTC-7 is the first known case of a high-rise building collapsing as a result of an uncontrolled fire. The authors of the report concluded that the high temperature led to thermal expansion of the steel structures, and this, in turn, launched a chain of events that led to the destruction of WTC-7.

Duvet and pillow care – hand and machine wash, dry, air, fluff, store.

washing down duvets

Once you have decided to buy a duvet or pillow, you should think about the rules for caring for it. Even factory-made products from reliable manufacturers can be easily spoiled. With unreasonable care, the filler in warm duvets can turn into a shapeless mass.

How to wash a large duvet

Even the best duvets cannot be washed more than once a year. Before throwing the product into the washing machine, you need to study the tags. Bedding should not be soaked and the spin mode should not be set at high speeds. So that the fluff in the blanket does not gather into lumps, if you have tennis balls at home, you should put them in the drum of the washing machine. Suitable temperature for washing – no more than 40 ° C. Liquid powders should be used as a detergent. Avoid conditioner and bleach. All down products, whether down pillows or cloaks, are washed separately.

Hand wash duvets

If you decide to hand wash your duvet, remember that this is a very labor intensive process. In order not to spoil the product, you must strictly follow these rules:

  1. Remove the filler from the pillowcase.
  2. Put the down and feathers in a special canvas bag.
  3. Dissolve detergent in warm water.
  4. Thoroughly wash the bags of down several times, each time changing the solution to a less concentrated one.
  5. Rinse the bags in clean water, changing the water until it remains clear after the procedure.

Pouched down or machine washed duvet must not be dried in direct sunlight.

Some products are labeled dry cleanable. In this case, you can not throw them into the machine or attempt to clean the blanket manually. By ignoring the icon on the label, you can ruin the bedding.

Additional care for duvets

Down can get wrinkled

Buying a duvet is only the first step on the way to a good night’s sleep. In addition to washing, the product also needs other care – airing and whipping. Pillows and duvets made of 100% goose feather or swan down are aired every month. To do this, you need to place the product in a well-ventilated area where direct sunlight does not fall, for example, on a balcony.

Air out the bedding more than once a month if the room has a high level of humidity. These measures will help prevent the smell of dampness and the formation of mold. If you ignore this type of care, you can earn an allergy or face other troubles.

It is important to beat the filling in duvets daily. Then they will always be fluffy and soft. Bedding, with proper care, will retain its properties throughout the entire operational period, which varies from 5 to 10 years.

How to store down duvets

If the room is very hot, you may not need a duvet. Then it needs to be stored away. A suitable place to place bedding is in a closet or well-ventilated pantry. Air access is a very important aspect in this case. Without it, the filler of duvets and pillows may undergo a process of decay or mold.

Down blankets must not be placed in vacuum bags, plastic bags or airtight covers. They are folded neatly, without being pressed into special covers that can be replaced with cotton fabric. Bedding can simply be wrapped in cotton and put away in the closet.

Qiaoxu Down

14 Dec 2021 06:00 AM

Guigang (China) Recently, the development of land plot B under the Qiaoxu – China Down Valley project is in full swing. Numerous heavy equipment was used to level the site for the construction of the feather-down products factory. According to the Propaganda Office of Gangnan District (Guigang City), the total land area provided by the layout plan of this facility is 69618.12 sq. m, on which it is planned to build two production workshops, occupying 40 thousand square meters. In April of this year, the facility built on plot A was put into operation, which marks a fundamental step towards the transformation and modernization of the feather and down industry in the Gannan area.

The flourishing period of the “Qiaoxu” feather-down industry in the Gannan District of Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region fell on the 80s of the last century. For more than 40 years, Qiaoxu’s feather and down industry has developed at a rapid pace, integrating high-quality down resources and relying on production segments that provide fast results with low capital investment, as well as flexible business and agricultural opportunities, laying the foundation for gaining fame ” Homeland of down in China”, “Base for high quality down production in China” and “Excellent feather-down industrial cluster in China”. Products are sold in Zhejiang, Shanghai and other regions and countries, including Japan, Korea, the United States and Europe, and the share of processing volume is 28% in China and 18% in the world.

In order to consolidate existing advantages, Qiaoxu City Government and Guangxi Qiaoxu Lotus Down Feather Group Co., Ltd. prepared to jointly launch the Qiaoxu – China Down Valley project to transform it into a new manufacturing enterprise using advanced technology to produce high value-added products through standardization, upgrading, internationalization and intellectualization. The total investment is expected to be 1.615 billion yuan, and the area planned for construction is 46.19ha. The project will be divided into three phases with a five-year construction period. To implement this project, a brand development plan is being actively pursued, under which more than 20 high-quality brands, such as Qiaoxu Down, Lotus Down Quilt and Lotus City Home Textile, are being developed. In order to implement this project, high technologies are also being introduced, including low-carbon environmental protection technology, wastewater treatment and processing, and achieving a high conversion rate of productive energy. In addition, the Yezzileaf Organic Breeding Base is being built to eliminate the peculiar smell of down products and then ensure the raw material supply of high-quality Qiaoxu down. As part of the project, a detergent-free production line and an advanced sterilization system were modernized and refined to eliminate the smell of products and improve their quality while maintaining the original ecological properties of down. The projects of Qiaoxu Down Shopping Center and Science and Innovation Expo Center are also generally promoted in order to improve the efficiency of advanced research and development technologies and promote industry scientific and technological progress.

Aiming at establishing a nationwide high-tech down industry cluster, this project will realize the transformation and upgrading of Guangxi’s only traditional down and feather industry, and establish a complete industry chain of scientific breeding, deep finishing and marketing of electronic and traditional channels.

What’s Special

New high schools & charter school in building show promise

The Downside

Metal detectors in the building

Louis D. Brandeis High School has been divided into several smaller schools after struggling for years with spotty attendance, safety issues and a low graduation rate. The school officially closed on June 29, 2012 and was renamed the Brandeis High School Campus. It houses five small schools, including four high schools: Frank McCourt High School, Global Learning Collaborative, Innovation Diploma Plus and Urban Assembly for Green Careers. The fifth school is Upper West Success Academy, a charter elementary school that is part of the popular Success Academy network of charter schools.

The Brandeis High School Campus is located on Manhattan’s Upper West side. The surrounding neighborhood is safe and full of trendy shops and eateries. The building is easily accessible by subway and bus.

Each of the four small high schools has a distinct mission and its own dedicated space in the building where most of its classes are held. Opened in September 2010, Frank McCourt is a selective admission school that attracts a diverse population of motivated students hailing from all five boroughs. Global Learning Collaborative is part of a network of city schools affiliated with the Asia Society and offers students the chance to study Chinese or Spanish and travel abroad. Urban Assembly Green Careers aims to prepare students for environmental work either in “green buildings” (such as architecture, engineering or solar panel installation) or “green spaces” (such as gardening or forestry). Innovation Diploma Plus is a transfer alternative school that serves students between the ages of 16 and 20 who have not succeeded in a traditional high school setting.

All high school students and visitors enter the building through the main entrance where they must pass through metal detectors overseen by a team of uniformed security guards (we counted nine during one visit). The scene is reminiscent of airport security with guards repeatedly announcing instructions such as “belts off, hats off, coats on.” The scanning policy pre-dates all the small schools on campus. It was set in place back when Brandeis High School occupied the entire building and struggled with a long history of poor performance and disorder.

Scanning aside, the overall tone of the building is calm and pleasant. Hallways are clean and quiet when classes are in session. Each school does a nice job of sprucing up their space. Collectively, the schools maintain a collegial relationship, especially over shared space. “We have a really nice campus here, and I have nice relationship with the other schools,” said Danielle Salzberg, founding principal of Frank McCourt High School.

All the high schools share use of the building’s renovated science labs, three gymnasiums, weight training room, auditorium, cafeteria, library and outdoor yard. Student athletes from all the high schools can participate in the campus-wide PSAL sports teams. There are also roughly 30 campus-wide clubs such as art, dance, photography and Model UN.

Upper West Success Academy, which opened in August 2011, is situated in a wing of the second floor that bears all the signature traits of a Success Academy school, including classes and hallways painted in the official Success network colors of blue, orange and white. Its students have very limited interaction with high school kids in the building. Upper West has its own building entrance (its students don’t pass through scanners) and a small cafeteria that is adjacent to the main one.

NOTE: Former Brandeis students seeking transcripts or other school records should contact the Frank McCourt school at 212-362-2015. (Laura Zingmond, January 2012)

Thanks to the generous support of the
Heckscher Foundation for Children,
we have partnered with
EdTrust–NY
to bring you this important data about advanced course access at each high school.

All New York City students should have equitable access to key gatekeeper and advanced courses that lead to college and career preparedness. Yet across the city, students who are Black, Latinx, and American Indian, and students from low-income backgrounds, are less likely than their peers to attend schools where advanced courses are offered. And even when they do attend schools that offer these courses, they are less likely to be given access.

Exploring this data will help you understand which key advanced courses are offered at each high school, and whether students across different racial groups and income levels have equitable access to those advanced courses. Please see the “learn more” link above the data for important notes about how the data are calculated and displayed.

Thanks to the generous support of the
Heckscher Foundation for Children,
we have partnered with
EdTrust–NY
to bring you this important data about how well each high school is preparing students to enroll in and persist through college.

Every student deserves a high school education that prepares them for college, careers, and active citizenship. For students who enroll in college, the best measure of college readiness is whether students ultimately succeed. Exploring this data will help you understand how prepared students from this high school were to persist through college/university and complete their postsecondary degrees or credentials.

Data notes: The data shows what percent of all students in Grades 9-12 were enrolled in each type of course during one school year. If every student took each course once over the course of 4 years, we would expect to see annual enrollment rates around 25%. If you see annual enrollment rates above 25%, that may mean students are taking more than one course in a given subject over the course of 4 years, for example, Regents-level Physics and AP-level Physics.

If 0 students were enrolled in a course at this school, that course will display as “not offered” for that year. Students can take more than one course in each category, but enrollment rates are capped at 100%.

Comparisons under “By Income” are calculated by subtracting low-income rates from not-low-income rates; any difference larger than 3% is noted as less or more access. Comparisons under “By Race/Ethnicity” are calculated by subtracting each group’s rate from the All students rate, then adding the absolute differences for a “racial balance” score not shown here. Schools are designated as “far more equal” or “more equal” if they fall in the more balanced quarter or half of schools, respectively, and “less equal” or “far less equal” if they fall in the least balanced half or quarter of schools, respectively.

How to read the radar graphs under By Race/Ethnicity: look at both the shape and size of the shaded area. If the shaded area is very small, then very few students from any racial/ethnic group have access to that type of course at this school. If the shaded area looks like a circle, then students from all racial/ethnic groups are taking that advanced course at about the same rate. If it has spikes or dips, then students from certain racial groups are taking the course at higher rates than students from other racial/ethnic groups.

Thanks to the generous support of the Heckscher Foundation for Children, we have partnered with
EdTrust-NY
to bring you this important data about how well each high school is preparing students to enroll in college.

This Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion data helps you understand how well this school is supporting students to access the financial resources and supports that make a critical difference in whether they are able to attend college.

National research shows that 90% of high school seniors who complete the FAFSA go to college immediately after graduation compared to just 55% of seniors who do not complete the FAFSA. High schools can make a significant difference in helping students who are low-income and first-generation college students complete the FAFSA.

Graduates of this school that are included here are those who enrolled in a public New York State college or university the following fall and participated in the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), which provides financial aid to families generally earning up to $80,000 a year.

How to read the bar charts: Use the dropdown menu to select students who earned either an Associate’s or a Bachelor’s degree. The first two bars display all students from this high school who went on to persist in college, regardless of their intended degree. The following bars display the number of students who earned the degree type specified in the dropdown menu.

                Friday, September 2, 2022

                Good afternoon,

Please log into your child’s Genesis account and then look under the “Bus” tab to see if he/she is scheduled to be on a bus route this coming school year.   If you see a route number, then follow the below steps to find the route specifics.

                Go to http://www.clarkschools.org.

Select the “More” tab towards the top right of the page.

Select the “Transportation” sub-tab towards the bottom of that list.

Click on the “2022-2023 Route Summaries” link.

That document is also attached below for your convenience.

If you do not see a route number within Genesis, then your child will not be receiving transportation through the school this year.

Please email Mrs. Christine Unish at [email protected] with any questions.

As always, thank you and enjoy the long weekend ahead.

                      Good afternoon,

Next Thursday (January 20) at 4 p.m., you will be receiving a text message from our district’s SchoolMessenger short code number 67587.  If you would like to begin receiving text messages in addition to phone calls and emails from SchoolMessenger, please respond to this text message with Y or YES.  If for some reason you miss this text message, a flyer containing a QR code that will allow you to opt in after next Thursday at 4 p.m. is attached below.  The QR code can only be used after next Thursday at that time.  Parents/guardians, please make certain that your cell phone numbers are updated within Genesis prior to the end of the day next Tuesday (the 18th) as Genesis “speaks” to SchoolMessenger each evening and only phone numbers that are within Genesis will be able to receive text messages, even if the QR code is used.

Thank you for your cooperation.  Enjoy the rest of the day ahead.

More details

Kindergarten “MIR” was opened in Dobrograd

Children refuse to leave the kindergarten, here they make their own choice and play what they like. And during the game they develop various skills, creativity, thinking, memory, communication. Kindergarten “MIR” opened in May. Now 17 children go to the new kindergarten, the team is ready to accept 13 more newcomers. Kindergarten manager Maria Guseva told us why MIR is a special kindergarten.

Children feel good here

Our kindergarten is the best place to develop a confident and happy child in a safe environment. My experience shows that it is impossible to force a child to go to kindergarten, and our children are looking forward to a new day in order to run to kindergarten classes as soon as possible, because every day is special for us. The opening took place quite recently, and we are gradually, step by step, creating a space of opportunities in which the child can freely play, choose and express himself.

How the day works

Kindergarten is open from 8:00, and in the first half of the day the classes are aimed at obtaining important knowledge and skills, as well as preparing for school. In the afternoon – free play, the child himself chooses what he is interested in: someone to design, someone to draw, someone to make music. Children need to be given the opportunity to explore everything that is around, to create conditions that will allow them to try and check everything on their own.

There are never too many walks

Now the weather is fine outside, the children walk three times a day. A lot of time on a walk is given to games, mostly mobile. They develop the basic movements, and relieve mental stress from classes. During their stay on the street, children get a lot of new experiences and knowledge about the world around them – the flora and fauna of Dobrograd.

Health care

There is a nurse in the kindergarten throughout the day. The first and most important thing is the morning filter, it is important for us that all the children in the garden are healthy, without signs of SARS and other diseases. When entering the kindergarten, we ask parents to bring a certificate from a pediatrician, as well as tell about the child’s health features: what he is allergic to, what is contraindicated, etc. Parents treat the necessary certificates with understanding, because they share our position. Taking care of children’s health is the most important thing.

From kindergarten to school

The entire educational model of the kindergarten and the school is built on the succession of levels, and when sending a child to the MIR kindergarten, parents can be sure that the school level is a continuation of the preschool program.

Adaptation is very important

We approach each child individually.

Georgia Goal

Scholarship Program

YOU HAVE A CHOICE

Pay income taxes to the state of Georgia

or

Provide scholarships to public school, Pre-K4 and kindergarten students to attend Curtis Baptist School

  • HB1133 is a 2008 Georgia law that grants an income tax credit to individuals and corporations who contribute to qualified student scholarship organizations (SSOs) such as the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program (GOAL)
  • The passage of HB 1133 was an incredible victory for the school choice movement and your participation in the program is critical to make this victory a meaningful one

How much can you contribute?

  • Individuals: contribute up to $2,500
  • Married couples filing jointly: contribute up to $5,000
  • Married couples filing separately: contribute up to $2,500
  • “C” Corporations: contribute up to 75% of Georgia income tax liability
  • S Corporation shareholders and LLC members are limited to the individual tax credit limitations
  • Contributions result in a corresponding Georgia income tax credit, not a mere tax deduction

A simple two step process

  1. Contribute to GOAL – Send the following items directly to Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program at Five Concourse Parkway, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30328.
    A. A completed Georgia Form IT-QEE-TP1 for filing with the Georgia Department of Revenue (this form can be downloaded from the GOAL website)
    B. A check made payable to “Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program” in the amount of your contribution (this check will be deposited only when GOAL receives your Form IT-QEE-TP1 as approved by the DOR)
  2. Claim the Credit
    A. GOAL will send you a Form IT-QEE-SSO1 contribution acknowledgement form
    B. GOAL will also make available detailed instructions for how to claim the credit on your Georgia income tax return at tax timeGeorgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc.
How are the contributions obligated?
  • Curtis Baptist School has entered into an Agreement with GOAL that will benefit qualified students entering Curtis Baptist School
  • While HB1133 requires that at least 90% of designated contributions be obligated for scholarships at Curtis Baptist School, GOAL obligates 93% of the designated contributions for scholarships
  • GOAL uses the designated funds and investment earnings on those funds to provide scholarships to applicants recommended by Curtis Baptist School
  • Curtis Baptist School officials recommend potential scholarship recipients and the amount of the GOAL Scholarships they will receive
  • Each quarter, GOAL sends a report to Curtis Baptist School setting forth the starting designated account balance, the amount of new designated contributions, scholarship payments, designated account net income, and a list of contributorsGeorgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc. 6

Who qualifies for scholarships?

  • By law, the scholarships are only available to public school students who are transferring to Curtis Baptist School or who are eligible to enter Pre-K4 or kindergarten
  • Because only $50 million of tax credits are available each year, GOAL is encouraging its participating schools to recommend low- and middle-income students for GOAL Scholarships according to voluntary guidelines
  • However, participating schools may submit any reasonable scholarship recommendations beyond the voluntary guidelines
  • The GOAL scholarship is awarded for the entire duration of the student’s attendance and good standing at Curtis Baptist School and varies in amount each year based on need, the availability of funds, and Curtis Baptist School recommendations
  • Curtis Baptist School admissions and financial aid officials may make scholarship recommendations to GOAL throughout each school yearGeorgia GOAL Scholarship Program, Inc. 7
Frequently asked questions
  • There are currently 91 GOAL Participating Schools throughout Georgia
  • Each is responsible for educating its parents, faculty and staff, businesses, and other supporters about the ability to redirect Georgia income taxes to GOAL for the provision of scholarships
  • Contributions to GOAL are merely the re-direction of dollars that would otherwise be paid to Georgia for income taxes – so these contributions should NOT replace your contribution to the Curtis Baptist School Annual Fund
  • To ensure that funds are available for contributions to GOAL, those intending to contribute may choose to have less Georgia income taxes withheld from their paychecks
  • Jennifer Jones at Curtis Baptist School will be able to answer all of your questions and provide copies of all of the forms relating to this opportunity

Visa

Tourists often ask the question – do Russians need a visa to Georgia?
For trips of less than 365 days – not needed, however, entry is possible only with a passport. For longer trips, you will have to issue it on the spot through the Civil Registry Agency. Georgian visas are issued to Russians without any problems.

Important: entry into Georgia will be denied if there is a mark in the passport

Autumn 2021: how our people live in Batumi

November 15, 2021
In March 2021, my friend’s bonus miles burned out, she herself could not fly anywhere and offered me to use them. Europe was closed, I was already in Turkey this year, and Georgia just opened for tourists. That’s where I went.

Initially, I bought a ticket to Tbilisi and planned to spend a month there, change the situation, eat khinkali and return

Beaches

Oddly enough, most tourists do not associate Georgia with a beach holiday. And in vain! There are many good beaches in Georgia. Local service is noticeably behind Sochi and Crimean, but the sea is no worse.

The best beaches of Georgia are located near Batumi. The most popular of them is Kobuleti. From the center of Butami, it can be reached in just an hour, so there are enough tourists here.

Reviews about the school “Music for the Soul”

Thanks to Yulia Grigoryevna for her attentiveness to my grandson Mark. In a very short time, he learned to play better, fell in love with music more and learned a lot of new things: new instruments, new words, how to play correctly. I don’t know if he will be a musician, but we hope he will really love music, real music.

Thank you for bringing him to the stage. This got him very interested! For him, the first exit was very exciting, but not only for him, but also for his parents.

Happy New Year to everyone! May everyone be healthy and may beautiful music always sound, which makes people happier, happier and improves mood.

I advise everyone to go to this studio, there are many different directions in music.

Sincerely, the Fomin family, 12/26/2016

The Fomin family

We all live with music. We walk hand in hand with her. Our life becomes better to the sound of music – all the difficulties turn into a state of “everything will be fine.” And when you manage to create musical creativity and perform yourself, this is a real joy. The joy of victory and self-realization. Now I understand that you can learn not as a child, but as an adult with work and responsibilities. Thank you for your patience and for being you! When your teacher loves music and appreciates it, and most importantly understands it, you want to absorb and improve your level! I’m with you! Thank you! I advise everyone to plunge into this magical world!!!

Maria Noskova https://vk.com/mariyanoskova – https://vk.com/mariyanoskova

An excellent studio for creative growth and for the soul.

Teacher Ksenia Ruban – a separate Respect for the always excellent mood at the lesson and the skill of the teacher. I always leave with a positive attitude and self-confidence, which is very important for any creative person.

I would also like to note a trial dance lesson – a high level. In the future I plan to go to dances and the piano, and acting!!! In general, I will try everything!!!!))))

We would like to thank the creative lab for providing a huge range of courses for the soul. In particular, courses in oratory with a teacher Alexander Barinov, which we attend with great pleasure! Training helps in the development of negotiation skills, teaches you how to communicate with a large number of people. We use the acquired knowledge in work and everyday life. Alexander manages to “break” the established stereotypes of “incorrect colloquial speech”.

It’s a pure thrill to study with you! I always go to work as a holiday! You fulfill the most cherished desires, and Sasha Karpov is the best

Accidentally found an advertisement for the Laboratory, and did not even plan to send their children to music. We decided to come to the first lesson for the sake of interest, and that’s it! My kids have fallen in love with the teachers and are starting to take their new hobby seriously, which makes me happy as a mom. Thank you very much for creating a music school that instills a love for music, and does not take it away!

I’m glad that you are working with people who already have skills in music education. For myself, in a short period of study, I discovered a lot of new things than in the previous 5 years of “cramming”!

Parents of 3rd grade children, choral department

Thank you for the wonderful evening spent at the Philharmonic on October 25, 2022. We enjoyed all the performances of children from different parts of Russia. I really liked the magnificent performance of the consolidated orchestra of folk instruments, under the direction of Anton Shaburov.
The concert turned out to be very interesting, all the children played and sang with enthusiasm, and the variety of performers and instruments simply delighted!
Thank you very much to school principal Natalya Rafekovna Kondratenko for the excellent organization of the concert! We also thank Nadezhda Ivanovna Zaitseva for her creative work with our children and the excellent performance of her part.
We wish the staff of our school success in this difficult but creative work.

NA Belousova

Wonderful concert “Anniversary of the Orchestra of Folk Instruments”.
The performance was well thought out and organized: stage design, excellent repertoire! I really liked the performance of the students of the choir department! The concert was held in one breath, the audience was delighted. Many thanks to the director of the school Kondratenko N.R. and orchestra leaders Olga and Evgeny Dubovkin. Low bow to you

Rykova M.N.

A great start to the new 2021-2022 academic year! A concert on the porch of the school, a musical fairy tale “Svetozar and IT”, and how many more interesting events (concerts, competitions…) await us ahead. So let’s hurry up, friends, the concert hall to them. V.A. Tanklevskoy is open and waiting for you!

Agalakova Antonina Sergeevna

Hello everyone who is still thinking about further education of their children at the music school named after. Glinka and those who spend every day within the walls of this school. I want to share my memories and tell you about how this school can affect a child’s life.
To begin with, I went to a music school from the age of four, and finished attending it only at the age of 16. Yes, yes, for 12 whole years and this, not because I stayed for the second year (although there was such a thing) several times in a row, but only because I could not leave and could not say goodbye to this place. After I graduated, I continued to attend school.
It was while studying at a music school that I acquired such qualities as prudence, the ability to love and compassion, perseverance, perseverance and the ability to bring things to the end. I have learned to listen and hear. Coming to a music school without any talent, I was able to learn how to be a musician. To thank, for everything acquired, should be the teachers of this school, who “raised” a person out of me and worked diligently with each of the students. It was they who laid down the fundamental values and the desire to learn and learn something new. This is not just a school, this is a family where you will always be treated with understanding and love.

Buzlaeva Tatyana Leonidovna

Hello! I want to thank Natalya Rafekovna for a wonderful New Year’s gift! A new piano was brought to our class on New Year’s Eve! It’s a pity I can’t attach a photo with happy children’s faces, the guys are very happy to practice on a KAWAI instrument. Thank you!!!

Alyabyeva Lyudmila

Dear, beloved teacher Valentina Aleksandrovna!
I sincerely congratulate you on Teacher’s Day!
Thank you for your invaluable work, for your attention and patience,
kindness and affection, all your lessons are just a FAIRY TALE!
I wish you HAPPINESS, HEALTH, SUCCESS, JOY, LOVE!
Talented, diligent students!
LOW BOW TO YOU!!!

Popova Ekaterina Yurievna

I want to thank my favorite teacher Sharapova Natalya Anatolyevna. I studied back in the 90s, we were the very first on the course of wind instruments. In those difficult years, Natalya Anatolyevna tried, developed us negligent, put her whole soul into it, was support for us, organized trips, performances, all on pure enthusiasm. Natalya Anatolyevna, you are a very kind, pure, open and cheerful person, thank you very much for your musical education, warm memories, for your patience, we remember you and love you very much.

For seven years we dreamed of getting into this school. Now our daughter, who will be eight years old, is already studying piano in the first grade. We are grateful and happy that our child receives not only a musical education, but also aesthetic, cultural and spiritual education. No other school gives so much kindness. The teachers at the school are incredible. There are no words to fully express gratitude to the teaching staff, their contribution to the upbringing of our daughter. Thank you very much!!!!! You are the most amazing teachers!

In October there was a concert dedicated to the first-graders. The concert was wonderful, the children showed their knowledge, talent, endurance, culture, upbringing. I really wanted to watch the concert to the end, but I didn’t have the patience to listen to the host’s remarks, which she threw towards EVERY spectator entering and exiting.
