In 1995, Atherton and Wai-Kahala Preschools piloted KCAA’s new toddler program, serving children as young as 2 years old. This innovative program offers developmentally appropriate learning environments and curriculum that support toddler needs, and lower child to teacher ratios that optimize the unique learning moments throughout the day.
Atherton Preschool also offers three and four year old programs that encourage developing interests and learning experiences of older preschoolers. Enrichment Programs such as Amazing Athletes and soccer shots are also offered throughout the year as well. “E Komo Mai!”
Yesterday
The early 1970s was a time of expansion for KCAA. Although the Hawaii Kai area was the main focus of development during this period, emphasis began to shift to the Windward area as well, when Atherton Trust asked KCAA to submit a proposal to operate Beerman School. The proposal was accepted by the Trust, and in November 1973, KCAA officially opened Atherton Preschool in the heart of Kailua.

The Child
Each child is a unique and important member of our community who comes to school with an abundance of experiences. Preschoolers form relationships, make connections, and seek new experiences to understand their world and their role in the community. Inspired by their own interest to learn and play, children construct knowledge alongside their teachers and classmates as they explore and discover together.
The Parent
Parents, caregivers and families are an integral part of the preschool experience. We view parents as their child’s first and primary teacher. Relationships are built with families through the emphasis on the home and school connection, helping children feel a sense of safety and security at school. Families are encouraged to participate through a variety of opportunities in the classroom and school community. Frequent communication between the “school family” and “home family” ensures a strong partnership to support each child.
The Teacher
Depending on the child, the group, the lesson, or the opportunity for a “teachable moment,” the teachers support the students as curators, guides, resource facilitators, researchers and explorers. The teachers partner with the children to build a caring, supportive community, where each individual is treated with respect and valued as an important contributor to the group.
Documentation
A critical component of the Reggio Approach is communication through documentation. Teachers document the many ways children communicate their thoughts and ideas through the use of photos, videos, dictation and the display of children’s artwork and creations. This visual record allows children to reflect upon their thinking and build upon past ideas. Our visual documentation displays inspire conversation and connection building amongst the parents, visitors and the preschool creators.
The Environment as the Third Teacher
In the Reggio Approach, the environment is referred to as the third teacher, after the parent and classroom teacher. Our classrooms are thoughtfully and intentionally designed to spark interest and engagement. In these warm and welcoming spaces, natural elements and light are used to create dynamic environments with the flexibility to respond to the needs and interests of the children.
The Hundred Languages of Children
In preschool, children are developing their ability to express themselves using a variety of symbolic languages— art, movement, drawing, painting, music, sculpture, science, nature, dramatic play, yoga, dance, math, building, and writing. As they communicate through these “hundred languages,” children are invited to collaborate, ask questions, explore emotions and examine their own thinking. Our dedicated preschool Atelierista, or art teacher, supports the preschoolers with multiple opportunities to explore materials and techniques on a daily basis.
Community Building
For preschoolers, a sense of community begins at home with their families. They then build relationships with their peers and teachers. As they become more confident, they are ready to broaden their connections to involve other people in the school community, including their older buddies and adults throughout the building. Through these trusting relationships, children learn to understand the broader community.

Reggio Pedagogy, Reggio Emilia Kindergarten
Contents of the article:
While all over the world the Reggio approach is already on the same level with the Waldorf and Montessori schools, in Russia it is only now gaining popularity. Pedagogy of Reggio Emilia is currently considered one of the most promising development methods. It is used in municipal kindergartens in Italy, Germany and other European countries, as well as in private kindergartens in the USA and Canada.
History of Reggio Pedagogy
Reggio Pedagogy takes its name from the town of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy. It was there that kindergartens with a new approach to children were opened after the Second World War. This technique was developed by psychologist Loris Malaguzzi together with other parents. In their methodology, they absorbed the ideas of the most famous psychologists and teachers of that time: J. Dewey, J. Piaget, L. Vygotsky, D. Bruner, M. Montessori and others. Thus, they tried to concentrate the entire world and the most progressive experience of that time in their approach. Spoiler alert – they did it.
Reggio pedagogy did not arise in this region of Italy by chance. It is famous for its “left” (social) orientation, high level of social activity and citizenship. This feature of the region leaves a certain mark on regio pedagogy, and in addition to educating a child’s personality, sets the goal of educating in him: democracy, solidarity with other people and social justice.
The role of the teacher
The teacher does not educate, but assists children. He acts as an equal partner who helps to realize the desires and ideas of the child. Therefore, he actively and attentively listens to the child, treats him with respect and strives to help in every possible way. The teacher does not teach children ready-made answers, he encourages them to ask questions themselves and look for their own solutions and answers, to make their own discoveries. The method of projects, which we will discuss below, is also aimed at this.
Developing environment Reggio
In order for the child to be most active, a special rich environment is created for him, which consists of:
All this contributes to the natural curiosity and creativity of the child.
The space is divided into different zones: secluded corners where children can take a break from the team; large rooms where children hold large-scale events; courtyards where children walk and explore the environment; workshops, etc. Such an environment allows children to fully express themselves: when you want to be alone – just go to the end of the room, if you want to play or explore the world together – come to its center.
Another feature is the “piazza” – a meeting place for all children, where children and adults meet in the morning and discuss what is happening in the kindergarten and outside the kindergarten, what projects are being created now and which ones can be started in the near future (more about projects we’ll talk more). Such a ritual is very important, as it teaches children to exchange opinions, listen and respect each other.
Reggio Wednesday
The inscription on the plate: What do you see?
Reggio Space
The space in kindergartens according to the Reggio method differs from the usual ones adopted in Russia. First, its area is much larger. Secondly, there are transparent glasses and mirrors so that children can see and study themselves. Thirdly, children can help cook in the kitchen and even bring their own recipes to cook together. Fourthly, plastic is practically not used in objects and decoration, preference is given to natural materials.
Freedom of choice and activity
Based on their interests and mood, children themselves choose what to do with all this wealth of the environment. Freely build the day as you wish and spend it, both independently and together with other children or teachers.
They can express themselves and explore the world in “hundreds of languages” (hundreds of ways). For example, through modeling, drawing, studying with a magnifying glass, reading books, playing with children, etc. It is the freedom to express oneself in many ways that is key to the Reggio approach. Above you could see the image with stones, on it the children are given ways to observe the stone not only in life holding it in their hand, but also the means to look at it through a magnifying glass, study it through books, draw it, write down their ideas and thoughts, etc. . The child is given “one hundred ways” of knowing and expressing himself.
As Malaguzzi said, “A child has 100 languages to express himself, but 99 are taken away from him by adults, leaving only speech.” Therefore, the main task of an adult is not to forbid children, but to help them use their cognitive and creative abilities, leaving the initiative to the child himself. After all, a child by nature is curious and active from birth, he himself is the creator of his personality and his abilities.
Design work
Design work occupies a special place in regio pedagogy. The topic of work is determined spontaneously, based on the questions and interests of the children at the moment, and is discussed every morning during the gathering of the whole group. Also, topics can be born in the games and conversations of children, why teachers are watching. The project can last a different time, from a few hours and days to a year. It can stop and resume again, it can be stopped ahead of time. What is important is not so much the final result (the final poster), but the process of cognition and creation itself. The project can include the whole group of children or part of it, but it can also be done alone. It is important that the teacher does not give instructions and tasks to the children, he is included in the project on an equal basis with the children, and from this position he can sometimes unobtrusively control the course of the process.
Here is one example of such projects, which was born from children’s needs, and then received the name “How to draw a lion”. To answer this question, the children got to know the life of a lion through videos and stories, studied the stone statue of a lion in the square, sculpted and created it from different materials. The final drawing in the form of a poster with a lion was striking in its beauty. To come to such a result, the children had to go through a long path of knowledge and trials.
Learning fixation
Documenting the process is an important part of Reggio. Conversations, discussions, the course of thinking and actions of children are often recorded on photos and videos, and the stages of work are recorded by teachers. The results of the children’s activities with a description of the process and achievements are posted on the stands and in the classrooms themselves, so that children and parents can always return to an interesting topic. Also, for each child, an archive is created with photographs, drawings, crafts, conversation recordings, etc. Such documentation helps to see the work done from the outside, better understand what is happening, and realize the result and its value.
Summary
The Reggio approach is a systematic approach that touches all areas of a child’s development. It gives the child such freedom and choice that no other technique can provide. Reggio pedagogy allows the child to show his curiosity, develops a creative approach to any activity, critical thinking, self-regulation, the ability to work in a team, respect someone else’s position and much more. These are exactly the skills that are most useful for a person in the 21st century. Of all modern methods, we believe that the Reggio approach is the most optimal for the development of the child.
We, the Progressio team, share the same views. You can find a reflection of the Reggio approach in our child development principles for parents.
The Reggio method is fully consistent with the modern development of the child, within the framework of the “Skills of the 21st century”:

6 Rules of Education in Italian Reggio Pedagogy
In addition to the Waldorf school and Montessori, there are other alternative methods of education. For example, Italian Reggio pedagogy, which has recently appeared in our country. Irina Dvoretskaya, Head of the Department of Children’s Programs of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, told Elena Shmaraeva what features she has.
Reggio Emilia is a city in northern Italy where, after the Second World War, kindergartens were opened, in which preschoolers were brought up and taught, guided by completely new principles. The teacher Loris Malaguzzi became the theorist of the new approach, relying on the methods and ideas of Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, Maria Montessori and others. Malaguzzi was of the opinion that every child naturally has “one hundred languages” to express himself, and the task of an adult is to help children use their cognitive abilities. The main methods in Reggio pedagogy are: project-based research activities, a lot of creativity, learning through the environment, and cooperation between teachers and children.
Founder of Reggio Pedagogy Loris Malaguzzi (right)
1. Respect the child and look him in the eye
the other – it doesn’t matter if it’s a different child, parent, teacher. We say: we must not descend to the child, but rise to him. And this is in the literal and figurative sense.
How often do we look children in the eyes while talking to them? We always look at the child from above, and he looks at us from below. What does he see? Certainly not our eyes. We must be on the same level with the child. Sitting with him on a children’s chair or on the floor, talking, looking into his eyes, eating with him – and when we eat, we must also be on the same level. And when we look at some work of art, we, on the contrary, raise the child to the level of the picture.
2. Explain the rules and ask a question
The child cannot know what you think, cannot guess what you want from him. The main task is to explain that there are rules. In this space there may be some rules, in another space there may be others. We don’t behave in the stadium like we do in the theater – even our clothes are completely different. And we must convey these rules to the child.
Be sure to explain why you introduced this rule. Why do you want it to be so? Why is it sometimes possible in one class not to raise our hand when there is a discussion, but in another, when there are a lot of people, we have to give some kind of sign before speaking and wait until they ask? By explaining our position, we give the child tools – how to act. He can speak, he can be silent, he can raise his hand, he can wait to be addressed.
But before explaining and broadcasting the rules, and just talking about something, we must ask an open question. What do children already know about this?
Reggio pedagogy took a lot from Lev Vygotsky. He said: we must understand where, at what point on this or that issue the child is now – and we will find out the zone of his proximal development.
Therefore, our task, both teachers and parents, is to ask as many open questions as possible and almost never ask closed questions that can be answered with “yes” or “no”. Still, we must encourage the child to think, build his own version and express it. Not to be a talking head, but to ask. The interest of the child is lost if we start to say what he already knows.
Irina Dvoretskaya in the children’s center at the Jewish Museum
3. Not “wrong”, but “different”
“The sky is red!” the child says. Do not rush to correct, because it gives motivation to think: can the sky be red at all? This can become an impetus for some kind of research, for expanding knowledge. We shouldn’t stop and say, “No, it doesn’t happen like that!” Should we try together with our child to understand when it can be? Is it possible to see it? In fact, I do not know the color, which the sky cannot be.
One day a child drew an orange hedgehog in kindergarten. And the reaction of the teacher was: “The hedgehog cannot be orange. It is gray, brownish, something else. But not orange.” Coming to a lesson in another group, with children of four and five years old, I decided to ask the question: “Can hedgehogs be orange?” Such silence came first. .. And it began! I received more than ten versions. One said that the hedgehog was smeared in clay. Others said that the hedgehog might be orange in autumn because the leaves had fallen on it. Still others said: maybe he is all covered in boletus. Someone else said it was a fairy tale hedgehog, “and the artist painted an orange hedgehog because it’s a story about an orange hedgehog.” Phenomenal response! And there was a very interesting answer at the end: “Maybe the hedgehog was allergic to oranges?”
This is such a joy for children! Realize that there is no one right answer. What they don’t tell you: this is right, but this is wrong. Therefore, introduce other terms in communication with children: “This is so, but this is different.” It’s not good, it’s not bad, it’s just different. You think so – your child thinks differently. This gives ground to talk: why does he think so? Why do you think so?
4. Offer a choice and not rush
A whole block in Reggio pedagogy is devoted to the topic of choice, this is a very important thing. But I again return to the fact that before teaching children to choose, we must be ready for this. We must not rush – this is one of the main rules.
Because in the morning we are in a hurry, we make a sandwich – without asking, we pour tea – without asking. When we ask a question, the choice must be: “Do you want tea with or without lemon? Sweet or not? You will say: it is difficult, we will be late for the garden, we will be late somewhere else. But that’s why there are some rules here too: the smaller the child, the fewer options he has to choose from. But in any case, even a three-year-old child can choose whether he will eat white or black bread. And put a piece of cheese on it yourself. He has a choice today only in bread, but he has it.
Or a selection of clothes. Parents often say in the morning: “We were late because we had a choice.” But you can introduce a rule and choose clothes for a morning walk or kindergarten in the evening. The child can choose her for a long time or not for long – if he chose her from the evening. And what if the weather changed in the morning, and the child chose a flannel dress? So, you need to help and argue: yes, you can, of course, put it on, but you will be hot. Ask a question: what needs to be done so that you are not hot in this? Maybe put a change of clothes?
The child must always understand: there are no hopeless situations, there is a solution to the problem
He decided to go in this, but he has other clothes in his backpack. The child did not accept your arguments, but he understood that there is some other way. This dress or shirt may lie there, he will not use it, but he knows that there is a solution. And absolutely no negative emotions.
If you stick to the idea that there is always a choice, then it is better not to make portioned food. A child from three years old can easily pour soup from a container that you put on the table with your help. He decides how much and chooses himself – pour broth or thick soup. This is a whole adventure for him: they didn’t pour him soup, as much as his mother saw fit, but he himself! And immediately there is an interest in food. The older the child, the more situations where he makes a choice. Gradually, we will demand argumentation: “Why did you choose this, tell me?”
Parents always confuse two things: freedom of choice does not mean the absence of boundaries. It will not be easy, but it will be easier for the child later in life. He will know why he does something, why he chooses it.
5. Learn in any situation
There is a principle in Reggio pedagogy: there is no fixed time for gaining knowledge. Here you are sitting at the dinner table. You can ask a question: what do you think this soup is made of? The child has experience, and he can guess. So, it’s orange soup. What can be orange? “Oh, I know, the pumpkin is orange!” But there are no pieces – what did they do with this pumpkin? “Ah, she was ground!” What did they grind? Combine or mixer – and show next time how it’s done.
This gives us some motivation to do projects with the child: answers to the questions we find through research. For example, you are reading the book Where Did the Sparrow Dine? Where else can you watch a sparrow, where does he actually eat? They didn’t see it on the playground – they went to the forest, to the park. While the sparrow is not visible, but the crow has flown! And we simultaneously learned that the crow eats. Can a sparrow eat the same as a crow? There are questions that the child answers with the help of observation. You can expand your knowledge with the help of a book, show a movie, go to a museum.
I still love this term – a date with creativity. This is not necessarily a date with some high art. You can also go to the bakery! See what kind of rolls there are and think: how are they baked? Maybe go on an excursion to the bakery, or maybe set up a bakery at home with your child.
Often a child receives knowledge that is sorted into categories. Here is mathematics, here is drawing, here is language. In fact, this division should be conditional
For example, starting to learn to play chess, we can start to study the cell, horizontal, vertical, orientation in space: right, left. If we are talking about the development of speech, then we can study the coordination of the text with the movement, include here creative activity, descriptive, signs of the subject.
When we discuss something, we don’t say whether it’s good or bad, we talk about our personal attitude. “I don’t like autumn.” Why? And why can you love this cold and rainy time? And one of the children says: “Actually, it’s so cool that you can run through the puddles!” And the other argues: “But you will be wet and get sick!”. Then the opponent continues: “But you can dress properly, put on a raincoat and boots!”
And one more important point that we pay attention to in Reggio pedagogy: a child can get information about something not only from an adult. When an adult asks the question, “What do you know about this subject?” – the experience of one of the children already allows him to answer, while others receive knowledge from him, from his peer. Thus, the child learns to process information not only that which the adult says. And the adult does not stop the child and listens to him.
6. Imagination is more important than reading
For many parents, the main task is to teach reading and counting as soon as possible. In fact, neither I nor you know a single person in our environment who could not do this. But we will find a lot of people around us who do not have the ability to argue, reflect, come up with some projects, I’m not talking about planning them, creating new concepts. Therefore, it seems to me that the main task is the development of creative thinking. We promote the development of design thinking, because in a project, no matter what the subject, you can count, and talk about the features of the subject, and sketch it, and compare.
Fantasizing, imaginative thinking is better developed in us, the younger we are. But then this figurative thinking begins to be crushed by logic. And if the creative principle is not supported, if such development is not given to it, then logic will crush and it is unlikely that we will gain anything in this sense in the future.

We’ve mapped out an itinerary that allows you to experience urban New York and relaxed South Miami in one trip to America. Separately, these pleasures also work, but since you are going to the USA, why not spend a few more hours on the plane and see two different cities.
New York
Everything seems to be known about New York for a long time, but every time it is able to surprise. Often captured on film, it seems to many to be the city from the movies. Latest movies and TV shows map fresh routes. The creators of “Elementary” about modern Sherlock and Watson moved them to New York. Johnny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu live in Brooklyn Heights, and in search of criminals they rush from Soho to the Bronx and use the subway. Jason Schwartzman in “Deadly Bored” plays a bohemian Brooklyn journalist who finds himself in expensive restaurants, then in the infernal outskirts of the city. Hannah and her Girlfriends have fans scouring Williamsburg for their front porches. Greta Gerwig in “Lola Vs” walks through the High Line Park.
Routes in New York have been laid a million times, but they still work. Especially if the city happens for the first time. In spring and summer, head to Central Park for magnolias and cherry blossoms, as well as joggers, couples, and old ladies with dogs. Climb the Empire State Building, whose spire was hugged by King Kong, look at the city from the 102nd floor. MoMA is still one of the best contemporary art museums. Other options on how to really spend time, look further.
Settle in with a view
In Manhattan, it’s great to live high up so you can see as far away as possible. Go to the window and say “Ah!”. From the 35th floor of the Time Warner Center, Mandarin Oriental, New York offers views of Central Park and the Hudson. Photographers shooting New York even have a special shooting point – “Central Park from the windows of the Mandarin Oriental.”
For the sake of stunning views, not only travelers, but also New Yorkers themselves come, for example, to have tea in the lobby or a cocktail in MObar. There is also the Asiate restaurant with new American cuisine, where chef Tony Robertson has brought Asian notes. Asiate serves excellent a-la-carte breakfasts. American pancakes with maple syrup, berries and whipped cream won our hearts, the classic New York bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and from Asian influences, we note the Japanese breakfast with fried salmon, scrambled eggs and miso soup. The design of the hotel and the service, as usual in the hotels of the chain, are at the highest level.
High Line Walk
One of the city’s new attractions is a 1930s high-rise railroad park that starts at Meatpacking and runs all the way to Thirty-fourth Street. The railway lines have been abandoned since the 1950s, the city authorities strove to demolish them, but the residents of the area, including Diane von Furstenberg, were outraged. Now a park has appeared in place of the tracks, where plants and shrubs seem to have spontaneously sprouted through the concrete (this was approximately the case before restoration). The high-line goes between the houses at a height, so that passers-by sometimes stare at the windows, and nearby is the Hudson, in a word, a favorite place for walkers.
Hiking in the Meatpacking District
Walking the High Line can logically lead to exploring the nearest Meatpacking. The former meat-packing district has now become one of the most interesting. Shops and restaurants appeared in warehouses where bull carcasses were cut. Diane von Furstenberg was one of the first to open a DVF flagship store in a red-brick industrial building. Now new addresses have appeared at The Bond No. 9, Christian Louboutin, Kiehls, Ports 1961, Tracy Reese, Paige, Levi’s® Meatpacking, Balenciaga and many more. Work up an appetite, head to The Standard Grill, located in the hotel of the same name. New Yorkers praise him.
Soho and the new geography of American fashion
Barneys is still the best department store, and Fifth Avenue stores have not been cancelled. But try expanding your understanding of American brands. American fashion seems to be one of the most inventive, and where, if not in New York, to get acquainted with it. Take note of designers Jill Stuart, Lyn Devon, Ports 1961, Rebecca Taylor, Jenni Kayne, Trasy Reese (Michelle Obama’s favorite, by the way). Most managed to open their stores in Meatpacking and Soho. In Soho, shopping looks especially interesting due to the surroundings – low houses with cast-iron facades, architectural heritage 1920s. Both the best American and international brands are now concentrated here – John Varvatos, Alexander Wang, Anna Sui, Oliver Peoples, Fiorentini + Baker, Acne Studios, Madewell.

New York has managed to ingeniously change the idea of fast food, making it harmless and truly appetizing. Sandwiches with fresh ingredients eaten on a bench in the park are an example of a new American cuisine in a hurry. The classic of the genre is the legendary Katz’s Delicatessen, where sandwiches with savory cuts of beef have been cooked since 1903 years. Katz’s was filmed at Donnie Brasco, fans of the place include Al Gore, Bruce Willis and Johnny Depp. Of the new ones, we recommend the Shake Shack chain, which has already acquired an army of fans, for example, Isaac Correa likes thick milkshakes.
Miami
After New York, you immediately feel how different life is in Florida. Miami is an exuberant, southern, Cuban-influenced city where no one seems to be working and certainly not in a hurry. Before your trip, check out Miami Vice, where Don Johnson, in a white suit and Ray-Bans, zips through Ocean Drive in a Ferrari and winks at girls in neon bars. The series is not in vain called the adaptation of the Italian fashion magazine of the 80s and the anthem of the local imposingness. Almost 30 years have passed, but he gives an excellent idea of \u200b\u200bthe atmosphere. It is also clear why Gianni Versace liked Miami – his “everything is too much” as a native fell on a relaxed landscape and local love for excesses. “Margaritas” in glasses with a diameter of a plate, dogs such that passers-by turn around, and the cabriolet is certainly red.
The ocean from the windows
The ocean in Florida is turquoise, and you want to see it as often as possible. The Mandarin Oriental, Miami is located in the bay, so contemplation of the water is in order. At dawn, the sight of the houses on the opposite shore turning golden from the sun, and the ocean turning from dark blue to blue, was beautiful. Spa rooms also overlook the ocean, so you can take treatments with a view. Spa specialists work according to European, Chinese and Ayurvedic methods and deserve all praise.
Swimming Pool Mandarin Oriental, Miami
Azul is recommended for dinner, especially seafood. We had a chance to try excellent stone crab, Hawaiian tuna and rainbow trout. Curiosity about who was in charge of the menu led to a meeting with Chef Jacob Anaya. The chef said that the menu is inspired by his travels around the world. For example, Hawaii was impressed by the fact that “the islands have fantastic seafood and ways to cook it.” In 2013, Jacob’s Azul was named one of the world’s best restaurants by Forbes Travel Guide.
Rock Crab in Azul
Walking Miami Beach
Miami Beach looks like a movie set, and so it was in the case of Miami Vice and Scarface, when villas and hotels are the color of children’s crayons on Ocean Drive became filming locations. The style of urban architecture that emerged in the 1930s and 1940s is called American Art Deco, although most of all the pink, lemon and blue houses seem like a five-year-old girl’s dream come true. Topless guys and girls in bathing suits flit along the promenade. At the tables, visitors sip impressive margaritas and mojitos. From time to time cabriolets of defiant colors rush past. Across the road – the ocean and white Florida sand.
Go shopping
Most of the stores are concentrated on Lincoln Road: Victoria’s Secret, Anthropologie, BCBG Max Azria, American Apparel, Banana Republic, Madewell, J.Crew, Gap and others. Nearby there is Macys department store, however, modest. Shops on Lincoln Road are mixed with cafes. In the morning, a colorful lady with a noticeable Neapolitan mastiff comes to coffee at Starbucks, and then they walk back and forth for a long time, as if on purpose for people to watch. This is all Miami.
How to get there: Flights Moscow – New York and Moscow – Miami with a convenient connection in Zurich are operated by Swiss (www.swiss.com). We especially note the Swiss business class, which makes a long flight extremely comfortable.

Underwater Park in a diving lovers
NOVEMBER 28TH, 200072 Lovers under the Local Fields of Moriami – not on the Mormans new attraction called ReefLine. It is conceived as an artificial reef and snorkeling site with many works of art with a total length of 11.2 km.
Reef Underwater Park
ReefLine will be located off the coast of Miami Beach. Construction will be led by OMA’s Shoshi Shigematsu, in collaboration with Coral Morphologic’s Ximena Kaminos, City of Miami Beach, and researchers at the University of Miami. Marine biologists and coastal engineers will also be involved.
underwater park
It will consist of concrete modular blocks that are stacked according to the topography of the seabed to serve as an artificial reef for marine life. Added to this will be a number of art installations available to snorkelers and scuba divers, including one by Shigematsu in the form of a ladder.
“OMA/Shigematsu sculpture explores the nature of weightlessness underwater,” explained a press release from the Dutch firm, which also completed construction of the bizarre convex gallery in Gwangyo earlier this year. A staircase is an elementary element of architecture, indicating direction and movement. The underwater park on the reef breaks out of its usual context and turns into an underwater frenzy.
installations
“Like the shape of an atoll, a series of winding spiral staircases create a three-dimensional structure reminiscent of marine life. The organic form provides layered areas for coral reef growth and intermediate spaces for exploration. The staircase revolves around a central forum for underwater gatherings and activities. The ReefLine staircase sculpture will be open to the public, where everyone can snorkel. 0089 reef design
The reef will feature artwork, including a work by Argentinean conceptual artist Leandro Erlich depicting an underwater traffic jam made from concrete sculptures of cars and trucks. It symbolizes emissions that contribute to climate change. Brazilian artist Ernesto Neto and Argentine artist Agustin Woodgate were also brought on board for subsequent works.
Environmentalists fear that the project could cause serious damage to existing marine life. source

New Creation Academy was founded in 1981 to provide a Christian
academic education for our children. The school is for the school
age children of the Christian Service Center. N.C.A. is an
outgrowth of Senior Pastors Bill and Elnora Owens vision for each
family to grow and be nurtured in the Word of God including each
child. We are a small school but big in the quality of each child’s
education and spiritual development. The curriculum is an
individualized and self-mastery course of study. Each student
proceeds at his or her individual learning ability. Our educational
material is the curriculum from Accelerated Christian Education,
which has been a pioneer in Christian and Academic education for
over 30 years.

All Nannies and Domestic Staff We Place Go Through Our Extensive Pre-screening Process:
All candidates must submit a application, resume, and required documents.
Then have a pre-screening interview one on one with the agency. The agency gets to know each candidate and their experience (we look for at least 3 years of experience in the industry), and builds a comprehensive profile for each candidate.
The agency conducts a social media check on each candidate
A reference check is then conducted in house, verifying professional references. These checks are completed by a agency staff member and a complete reference report is written. Once a family has identified a candidate, then they will receive the reference report on that candidate and are encouraged to call references directly.
Once a nanny is identified as the candidate a family wants to hire. The agency runs a Comprehensive Background Check on the nanny or domestic employee before they start work for the family: Including a Social Security Verification, National and State Criminal Check (County-By-County), Civil Record Check, Driving Record Check, Sexual Offender Registry Check, and Security watch list search. *Drug and Alcohol Screening are offered at an additional cost.
Are required to be CPR/First Aid certified before they start their position. – some even have obtained advanced medical licensing such as: CNA’s, RN’s, EMT’s, and even retired MD’s
Are required to have their own reliable transportation to and from work, and during work hours.
Once a nanny is hired, they are required to be paid legally by W-2 payment. So the nanny agrees to be paid legally by their employers (which is always the family)
The candidates also are all willing to sign a work agreement template
Continued support is given to families and candidates throughout each placement, whether that is one year or 12 years.
Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency’s Amazing Replacement Search Guarantee:
All Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency’s placements come with an amazing one year replacement search guarantee. If you are unhappy with your nanny or domestic candidate or they resign within the first 12 months from placement, we will do one more replacement search FREE of charge.

From the nanny side, they always found top-notch talent! As the needs of my family changed over the years, they were able to find the perfect fit for each phase. They thoroughly vet the candidates they send over and are diligent about background checks and family communication. Jane and her team are tremendous professionals. We have sent many others to them over the past several years and will continue to do so.”
Ellen G.Denver (Washington Park)
“Over the last 10 years, we’ve had two outstanding nannies thanks to the team at Colorado Nanny. With infant twins, we wanted to make sure our nanny had plenty of infant experience and would be an expert multi-tasker. The nanny we hired was exactly what we were looking for! As the kids got older and more athletic, we felt it was important to have a nanny who could help the kids practice their sports. Jane sent us the perfect nanny with a strong sports background and a true love for kids. We couldn’t be more pleased with Colorado Nanny!”

“After the of our first child, it was time for me to go back to work and I was sick with worry about leaving. My husband and I did a lot of research and talked to many friends who pointed us toward Colorado Nanny. Jane Jones and her team clearly understood what we were looking for and we interviewed just two candidates before we found the one for us. She became a beloved and critical part of our family and we are forever grateful to Colorado Nanny for their expertise and personal touch.”

How is the service of hospital nannies for orphans in Krasnoyarsk / News of the Society of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory / Newslab.Ru
A child’s illness is a difficult test for parents and the whole family. If the baby needs to go to the hospital, most often next to him is his mother: she will be there, reassure and support. But some children get there all alone. Hospital nannies help them survive the fear and all the burden of treatment. Newslab talked to them and found out how this much-needed job works.
Special – every
Irina has been working as a hospital nanny not so long ago – a few months. She says that she was driven to this by a strong desire to help.
Irina Edigarova
“I can’t really help with money, for a long time I didn’t see any other options for helping. And then on the social network I saw an announcement from a charitable foundation that nannies are required for orphans. Then I thought that this was just what I needed, and it turned out to be so. This is help here and now, help to those who need it. And I turned out to be right – this job suited me, I was not mistaken, ”says hospital nanny Irina Edigarova.
The first feeling that met Irina in the hospital was pity.
“There was such pity, which is close to compassion, not the one from the word “sting”. There was no fear, I knew where I was going. And at the same time there was a wild desire to learn, a desire to understand how everything works. My family supported me in this decision, I have a strong rear. No matter what I think, they always support me. There is no problem leaving the children with the husband. Everyone understands that for me this is not just a job, this is my implementation, this is my business for the soul, we did not have any conflicts, ”shared Irina.
For a hospital nanny, every child is special.
“The first child I accompanied was the home boy Seryozha ( the name of the child has been changed — ed. ), who was recently taken from his mother. He was only 10 months old. He was very sorry, he was torn away from his mother, and of course he was worried. In general, children from the Orphanage are different from those at home. They have an attachment disorder if he has not lived in a family for a long time. Secondly, this, of course, is pedagogical neglect – the child is not so developed, not so smart. But in any case, this is a child – he responds to affection, responds when you take him in your arms, feels affection, feels care. It is clear that when a child gets from his usual environment to the hospital, at first he is, of course, naughty, but over time he gets used to the situation, to the nanny, and “evens out”, ”recalls Irina.
Of course, after the treatment one has to leave. In this case, nannies should set themselves up for the idea that sooner or later they will have to do this. It’s more difficult for a kid in this situation, because he manages to get used to it, and it’s difficult to break the connection with the adult he loves again.
How are hospital nannies selected?
Irina cooperates with the Krasnoyarsk Without Orphans Charitable Foundation. A program was launched here, the main goal of which was to support children not only in Krasnoyarsk, but also in hospitals in the regions of the region. Those wishing to become a hospital nanny are waiting for selection. The first is conversation.
“The main thing is that a person should make this decision not on emotions. Often such a desire appears after a loss, a loss. Of course, in this state, you should not go to the hospital nannies. The second thing you pay attention to is the responsiveness of a person. In general, such people – ready to help – they are immediately visible. You can immediately see the love for children. It is desirable that the candidates have their own children – it doesn’t matter if they are adults or still small, because it’s a job to be a mother, and you need to imagine what maternal care is, ”said Olga Krasilnikova, curator of the I’ll Be There program.
However, the nanny does not provide any medical services, so a medical degree is not required. But candidates also undergo special training, go to hospitals with an experienced nanny.
Hospital nannies accompany children up to 4 years of age. Further, a separate bed is not provided for either nannies or mothers. Sometimes, upon request, a nanny can be provided to a palliative child (having a limited life span due to an incurable disease – ed.) .
Why is it a charity business?
Not so long ago, a decree was issued in Russia that each pupil from the Orphanage must be accompanied by a nanny. But neither the Ministry of Health nor orphanages have such a resource – to send an employee to take care of the child full-time. Then they turn to charitable foundations, which, in turn, look for, train and pay for the work of nannies.
The foundation says that the medical staff is quite supportive of the caring nannies – in many ways, this makes their work easier, because the nurses simply do not have time to care for everyone, and not just carry out the necessary procedures. Mothers lying with their own children in the hospital also treat orphans with great care.
“I remember one case when a child was admitted to the hospital — at that time he was one year old. Another nanny brought him a balloon, a gift, we decorated and packed everything. And the mothers from other wards saw this, and the next morning they brought us a parcel – there were diapers, toys, fruits. It was very touching that the mothers did not remain indifferent,” recalls Irina.
How about in Russia?
In almost every major city in Russia there are funds that provide the service of accompanying orphans to hospitals. In St. Petersburg, the charitable project “Sister Care” provides work for 26 nannies. In Crimea, since 2018, the Cradle of Mercy charity foundation has been helping medical staff take care of children without parents. In Krasnoyarsk, the “I want to handle” program has been operating for several years.
The curator of the program in Krasnoyarsk without orphans Olga says that it is relatively easy to find a hospital nanny in Krasnoyarsk and large cities, but in the districts of the region the trouble is Kansk, Achinsk, Sosnovoborsk and others – such work simply does not develop in them.
The leader of the Foundation Ruslan Mokrousov, a participant in the project “NGO Media School: Leaders of Social Change in the Media Space”, supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation, outlined the mission of the program as follows: “We help in every way we can to make it easier for children to get through this difficult period.”
“The required number of nannies each month is different: if it is winter and the incidence is at its peak, then it may be 10 children who need care. We draw up a schedule individually: one person cannot take care of 24 hours, he also has his own life, and it’s not good for the psyche, ”said Olga.
The work of nannies is paid for with funds received by the fund. But also, nannies often lack hygiene products for caring for children – these are diapers, napkins, soap, diapers. Krasnoyarsk residents can share all this.
Tears do not help
The nannies themselves admit that the most difficult thing is to watch how bad the child is, and you cannot help him. When a child gets better, you rejoice and calm down with him. And when you can’t help, there’s nothing to do but squeeze and shake. Therefore, every nanny should be able to do her job without getting hung up on it.
“Of course there are moments of burnout. The Foundation should have a psychologist who helps nannies. Personally, in my practice, I recommend just taking a break from work. If you have become attached to the child, if this pity draws you in, then you just need to rest. And you need to clearly define yourself: either you go and do it, or you sit and cry and do nothing at all. The same applies to the situation when the nanny takes care of one child for a long time: I again recommend that you need to take a break, ”Olga noted.
Nannies share that it is especially pitiful for those children who have very little chance of getting into a family – with pathologies, with health problems.
The orphan system is very closed
Now graduates and children from orphanages very often do not know the most basic things. Despite the good conditions of detention – the rooms have been renovated, there are toys and clothes – they have not tried much in their lives and in some moments they have a poor idea of how the world works.
There are several programs for children to adapt to real life. For example, a mentoring program when an adult spends time with a child outside the walls of an orphanage. For graduates, there is a follow-up program after they log out.

Who is Andreu Nin? | Left radical
Andreu Nin was born in 1882 in Vendrell (Tarragona). In 1914 he came to Barcelona, where he began to earn his living as a journalist. At the same time, he plunged into politics and syndicalist activity. He joined the CNT (Confederación Nacional de Trabajo), the anarcho-syndicalist trade union that at that time controlled most of the Catalan labor movement, and succeeded, against the resistance of the anarchist wing, in joining this organization to the Third International, born out of the Russian Revolution.17 years (nevertheless, very soon the CNT withdrew from the Third International). Nine years, from 1921 to 1930, Andreu Nin lived in Moscow and worked in the Third International, where he communicated with Russian trade unionists, with Lenin, Trotsky, Bukharin, Zinoviev. He married a young Russian communist, Olga Tareeva, and they had two daughters, Ira and Nora. Ning spoke and wrote Russian fluently and was an admirer of Russian classical literature.
Until 1924 he lived in Russia without problems. But then he declared himself a supporter of the left opposition headed by Trotsky, and when the opposition was defeated, he was expelled from the country. Returning to Spain, he translates into Catalan and Spanish Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Turgenev and Chekhov. In addition, he wrote several theoretical works on political topics (in Catalan). The most important among them are “Dictatorships in Our Day” and “National Liberation Movements”. In Barcelona, he immediately began to criticize the turn of the USSR towards Stalinism. He founded the Communist Left Movement (Izquierda Comunista), the Spanish branch of the International Left Opposition, led by Trotsky. Then, breaking up with Trotsky, he took part in the creation of POUM (Partido Obrero de Unificación Marxista – Workers’ Party of Marxist Unification). After the military mutiny in June 1936, he becomes the leader of this party. In addition, he holds the post of Minister of Justice in the government of Catalonia (which then had strong autonomy).
In August 1936, when the first news of a new wave of repressions in Moscow reached Spain, he expressed his solidarity with the old Bolshevik guard, which brought the wrath of Stalin on him and his party. Under pressure from the Spanish (PCE) and Catalan (PSUC) communist parties, he is expelled from the government. June 16 1937 years after the May events in Barcelona with the participation of POUM, NKVD agents, on the orders of Alexander Orlov, kidnap Andreu Nin and kill him a few days later.
What happened in May 1937?
To understand the events in Barcelona in May 1937, at the height of the civil war, one must look at what preceded them and what forces made up the Republican army.
Follow us on telegram
In response to the electoral victory of the Popular Front, a coalition of republican and leftist parties, on July 19In 1936, a military mutiny broke out, led by General Franco. In the big cities, Madrid and Barcelona, it was suppressed. But the country was divided into two camps. The “nationalists” relied on the bulk of the army and on the support of Germany and Italy, the “republicans” were forced to urgently organize something resembling an army from the workers’ militia created under the syndicates and parties. The only state that decided to support the Republicans (apart from the limited assistance that Mexico was able to provide) was the USSR. However, this aid, consisting of military supplies and advisers, was in many cases tied to Stalin’s policies. The Third International, ruled from Moscow, encouraged the creation of international brigades, but while volunteers from various parts of the world fought selflessly against fascism, the true goals of many Soviet “advisers” in Spain were rather obscure. It must be remembered that at this time falls the culmination of the Stalinist purges, which practically did away with the “old guard”. These purges also affected Spain.
Two main forces resisted the Franco rebellion.
On the one hand, the bourgeois republican parties, most of the socialists (PSOE), the UGT syndicate and the orthodox communists (PSUC and RFE). At this time, Stalin promoted the idea of uniting the workers’ parties with the “petty bourgeoisie”: everything should serve the victory in the war. Therefore, within this sector, everything was done to introduce discipline at any cost and create an army capable of resisting the rebellious military. It was considered necessary to dissolve the militias, which had been set up by every party and syndicate in the first months of the war.
On the other hand, the anarchists grouped in the CNT and FAI (Federación Anarquista Ibérica) and the left wing communists POUM. They were strongly opposed to the policy just described. This sector, whose main forces were concentrated in Catalonia, believed that simultaneously with the fight against the rebels, it was necessary to “make a revolution” and that behind the introduction of discipline was hidden the intention to end the revolution. Therefore, they defended workers’ control in production, collectivization in agriculture, and workers’ militias.
The attempt of the communists and socialists, in alliance with the republicans, to take power into their own hands, to the detriment of the workers’ militias, aroused the resistance of the anarchists, especially in Catalonia, where their trade union CNT had great weight. The confrontation turned into an armed conflict on the streets of Barcelona, when in May 1937 the communist-backed government wanted to take control of the telephone exchange, which was in the hands of the CNT militia. The anarchists entered into a street battle. The resistance was crushed, and the communists, backed by the USSR, gradually became masters of the situation.
The fact that POUM was involved in the May events and was the only one in Spain who spoke out loud about the Moscow trials became the reason for her persecution. It was outlawed, and many of its leaders were thrown into prison.
Operation Nikolay
Under such circumstances, Operation Nikolay is being carried out, which was the name given to the kidnapping and subsequent assassination of Andreu Nin, the leader of POUM. In one document sent to Moscow, Erno Gerö, a Hungarian, Comintern delegate and adviser to the PSUC, analyzes the events of May 1937 years old and claims that the main role in them was played by POUM, which he characterizes as a “Trotskyist” party (despite the fact that in fact it dissociated itself from Trotsky’s theses), collaborating with the Nazis. For his part, Alexander Orlov, an NKVD agent in Spain, is concocting false evidence of POUM’s involvement in a Francoist spy ring uncovered by the Republic’s secret services. The general director of the security service, communist Antonio Ortega, armed with “the evidence presented”, orders the arrest of the POUM leaders. June 16 Andreu Nin is captured in Barcelona by the Special Brigade police from Madrid and taken to a prison in Alcalá de Henares. There, he is interrogated several times, and then transported from prison to a nearby mansion, where he is tortured to extract a confession. The goal is to get an excuse to justify the repression against his party. Having achieved nothing, they kill him. The archives of the NKVD, bought by the Catalan television during the Soviet “perestroika” from the KGB, made it possible to clarify that Andreu Nin was killed between 21 and 24 July 1937. The documents confirm the version that the POUM members themselves have long defended, although they did not know the names of the killers. In 1992, Catalan television showed the documentary “Operation Nikolai” by Maria Dolors Genoves. It contains a letter from Orlov to higher authorities dated July 24, in which he names those who were present at the murder: Orlov, Yuzik (the pseudonym of the Brazilian Jose Escoy, an NKVD agent), the Hungarian Erno Gere and three Spaniards. José Escoy was the author of a falsified text that spoke of the connection between POUM and the Falange, a Spanish fascist party. Orlov was summoned to Moscow in 1938 and, fearing for his life, fled to the States with his wife and children. Recall that many political, military, diplomatic advisers, returning from Spain to the USSR, were executed: Consul in Barcelona Antonov-Ovseenko, Ambassador Rosenberg, Generals Gorev and Berzin … After the murder of Nin, a rumor was launched that he had been released by German Gestapo agents . George Orwell mentions this in his book Homage to Catalonia. An English writer who fought in the POUM column tells of his terrible feeling when he watched the POUMs fight against the Francoists, while at the same time, in the rear, the leaders of their party were persecuted and thrown into prison as “fascists”. When Nin disappeared, the question began to appear on the walls of Barcelona: “Where is Nin?” The Stalinists responded with slander: they say, in Salamanca or in Berlin (Salamanca was the seat of the Francoist government). A Catalan television report confirms what everyone suspected: Andreu Nin ended his days not in Salamanca or Berlin, but in a ditch near Alcala de Henares, a town not far from Madrid. On the basis of the above allegations, a trial was later prepared against the leaders of the POUM. It was completed in October 1938. Before the tribunal, called the Special Central Tribunal for Espionage and Treason, appeared the main leaders of the party. Prominent politicians such as the socialist Largo Caballero and the anarchist Federica Montseny have denied accusations of fascist complicity against POUM. The tribunal eventually rejected these absurd accusations, but nevertheless charged the Poum leaders with their actions during the May events in Barcelona. The process was an accurate reflection of Stalin’s purges, with many mid-level communist activists adding fuel to the fire. George Orwell claims in his book that he never heard at the front that a member of the Catalan Communist Party accused a poumovite of collaborating with the enemy: everyone fought elbow to elbow there. Some of the leaders of the Spanish and Catalan communist parties – that’s who, under the influence of Russian “advisors”, turned into an instrument of Stalinist repression. In 1989, the Catalan Communist Party newspaper Treball published a statement that, leaving aside the possibility of different interpretations of the Barcelona events of May 1937, the newspaper recognized as erroneous any slander against Andreu Nin and POUM, which sounded from its pages.

Why Summer Camp Is Important
Summer camp provides an opportunity for learning, growth, and fun in the months when school is not in session. No matter your child’s interests, summer camp creates a vibrant environment to explore new skills and make new friends. Summer camp helps kids develop social, emotional, and cognitive skills, all while creating memories to last a lifetime.
Summer camp also offers various benefits for parents. If you’re working over the summer, summer camp fills a necessary child care gap when your kids aren’t going to school. Even if you’re not working, summer camp is a great way to avoid those “I’m bored…” sighs you tend to hear from the kids in the summer. You’ll also give your children an educational setting complete with fun activities and newfound friends.
Of course, not all summer camps are the same. You’ll find many advantages to sending your children to a private summer camp in Allen, Texas.
Why Your Child Will Prosper When They Attend Summer Camp in Allen, Texas
When your child attends a private summer camp program, the benefits include:
Socialization and Friendship
One of the biggest perks of summer camp is the opportunity for socializing and meeting new people. Children often find it tough to form friendships or stay in touch with school friends during the summer break. Summer camp means continued socialization with peers, which helps to develop key life skills like problem-solving, sharing, and setting boundaries. Kids in summer camp develop healthy, strong relationships in a safe yet fun environment that lets them develop decision-making and social skills.
Teamwork Skills
Summer camps offer a wide range of activities, so if your child is interested in art, sports, or theater, they’ll stay engaged in activities that call for teamwork. Teamwork further helps to develop emotional intelligence, leadership skills, and communication skills. In a summer camp program, your child gets to see how working with other people can accomplish a task. As a result, they’ll learn to value teamwork as a solution.
Maintaining an Active Lifestyle
Attending summer camp in Allen is the perfect way to keep your child active over the summer. Activities like outdoor sports and gym ensure kids get in their exercise while having fun. At the same time, kids interact with peers they meet at camp, broadening their perspectives while they enjoy all those fun activities.
Personal Growth and Learning
In addition to keeping kids active, summer camp keeps kids’ minds engaged with fun and interesting S.T.E.A.M. lessons. During camp, kids are also encouraged to explore their interests without the limitations of a traditional classroom set-up. As a result, kids learn more about themselves and build self-confidence.
Building Independence
Attending summer camp means kids experience time away from their parents. And as your child explores their interests on their own, they also become more self-reliant. Summer camp teaches responsibility and encourages exploration by creating a safe environment where your child can make their own decisions.
Creating Memories
There’s a good reason why many adults list summer camp as one of their fondest childhood memories. Sure, kids gain decision-making, leadership, and social skills while having tons of chances to engage in physical activity. But above all, summer camp gives children the opportunity to experience new adventures with their peers. This translates to friendships, life lessons, and memories your kid will treasure for years to come.

Are you looking to find the best dog breed for indoors?
If you’re thinking about getting a dog but you’re someone who loves spending time indoors, you’ll need a breed that fits your lifestyle.
While all dogs will need some exercise and a little mental stimulation, there are some breeds who are more couch potatoes than workers.
Alternatively, if you like to spend time indoors but you’re willing to exercise your dog multiple times a day, you could still get an active breed.
In this article, we spoke to a number of different experts, ranging from dog behaviorists and veterinarians to find out about the best dogs for life inside.
With the introduction complete, let’s take a look at the best dog breeds for indoors.

Xoloitzcuintli

Xoloitzcuintls are a medium sized dog and are considered hairless. Thus, they do not shed. They were bred by the Aztecs for their healing powers, so they have a calm and relaxed temperament.

Shih Tzu

Shih Tzus are great for indoors because of their small size and laid-back personality. They also don’t require a lot of exercises, making them perfect for apartments or smaller living spaces.
Suggested by Meg Marrs, Founder Of K9 Of Mine
Yorkshire Terrier
Yorkies are an excellent indoor breed. This pint-sized dog breed weighs about 7 lbs. on average, and it doesn’t require a ton of exercise.
However, Yorkies are an intelligent breed, so it helps to keep some puzzle toys and training aids on hand to stimulate them mentally.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has an adaptable and affectionate personality. You can say it is one of the most adaptable puppies in the canine world. This dog breed will easily adjust to your lifestyle. And if that means more cuddles under the blanket, they will happily accept it. Then, when you want to go outside, they will gladly follow you.
Easy to keep and train, this puppy is an ideal family dog or companion dog for an empty nester. Many describe him as the perfect lap dog, and that is a true statement to the core. As long as they are with their people, these puppies are up for anything.

Bulldog

Not too big, not too small, this gentle breed is content to curl up next to you. They don’t require much grooming or exercise and prefer the perfectly cool climate of indoor life, especially in the summer.

Greyhound

I know that most people think that Greyhounds are high-maintenance and high energy dogs, but that isn’t true. Most Greyhounds are happy with a forty-minute walk a day, and are basically homebodies who love nothing more than sharing sofa space with their favorite humans and curling up on a couch, and sleeping the day away. And as they’re medium-sized dogs, they won’t take up too much space in any home, regardless of how big or small said home is.

Chinese Crested

A Chinese Crested is small and hairless. Their size and lack of shedding are perfect for indoors. The Chinese Crested as a toy breed that was often gifted from European Empires to Asian Dynasties. Thus, their temperament is generally very calm and obedient – perfect for the indoors.

Chihuahua

If I was absolutely forced to choose the best dog breed for indoors, I’d always choose a Chi-Chi. They’re loyal, tend to bond with one person strongly, and make great companion dogs.
They love to live the home life, don’t need a lot of exercise, and adore spending afternoons and evenings curled up on their owner’s laps in the comfort and style that they easily become accustomed to.

Beagle

You might be surprised to find Beagle on the list of indoor dogs, but this scent hound puppy loves cuddles and staying inside as much as it loves sniffing. The big reason for that is they are agreeable. This dog will never get mad at you. Impossible to fault, Beagles tend to be very tolerant and accepting by nature.
They can live in a household with other animals, children, and pets. And because of its size and affectionate personality, the Beagle makes a popular family pet.
The big challenge is to train this dog because of its hunting instinct and high energy level. But if you motivate them with food, and allow them enough sniffing time, they are a joy. It is no wonder fans of the breed describe it as “merry”.

Maltese

If you’re going to have a dog that stays mostly indoors, except for when you take them out to enjoy some fresh air and physical exercise, then you’re going to want a dog that is preferably low-energy, easy to maintain, and small to medium in size. If I had to recommend a single breed for indoor living, I’d choose the Maltese. These dogs are small and prefer to remain indoors, as they don’t do too well with different types of weather. They don’t need a lot of exercises, but they are playful and loving, ideal as apartment companions. They can also be easily trained to pee on a pad or tray, indoors.
Suggested by Jacquelyn Kennedy, Founder And CEO At PetDT
Pug

Pug’s frowny forehead, spherical communicatory eyes, and signature head tilt are merely irresistible. The pug-dog could be an affectionate and attentive breed. They need a wonderful temperament – some pugs might bark quite a bit, however, it’s all a small amount of fun, and they infrequently get angry.
Pugs are interested and invariably wish to search out what individuals do, which could be a sensitive issue as a result it keeps them busy so that they don’t get to exit that a lot.
Suggested by Steve Harris, Founder Of Daily Dog Stuff
Affenpinscher

Affenpinschers are great for indoors because they are small, do not shed, and only require a small of exercise – perfect for apartments. As dogs bred to be similar to terriers, they are easily exhausted with scent training and small bits of agility within the apartment.
Suggested by Karishma Warr, Head of Training & Behavior At Calm Canine Academy
Basset Hound
Basset Hound (Photo: Adobe Stock)
Loyal beyond belief, Basset Hound is one of the biggest couch potatoes you will find in the canine world. This puppy enjoys a low-key, indoor lifestyle as much as the next one. Yes, they belong to the hunting dog group, but over the years, they have accepted the domesticated lifestyle.
This puppy needs a daily walk, but once you get home, they are ready for a lazy snooze. You need just a single look at their sleepy eyes to be sure they love staying inside.
As fairly intelligent and loyal dogs, they are trainable, but can be a bit stubborn. The biggest challenge is their loud bark. But if you train them properly, you can easily handle the barking.
Basset Hounds are food-motivated because of their amazing sense of smell. This will help you with training.
Suggested by Aleksandar Mishkov, Editor In Chief At The Daily Tail
Cavoodle
Coffee the Cavoodle (Photo: coffeethecavoodle / Instagram)
There’s a reason the Cavoodle (also known as Cavapoo) is fast becoming one of the most popular dog breeds. A cross-breed between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle, the Cavoodle takes the best of both worlds making it ideal for indoor living.
This isn’t to say they don’t need their fair share of exercise and entertainment. But they are great family dogs, highly trainable and eager to please. If they have poodle-type coats, they shed very little, making them ideal for indoor living.
Suggested by Melissa Smith, Former Dog Trainer, Canine Expert And Content Manager At Raw & Fresh
French Bulldog

Frenchies are much smaller than their cousins, the English or American Bulldog. French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, which means they can’t run too far or too hard without difficulty breathing.
It also means they’re prone to overheating, which is why they tend to love the cool, air-conditioned indoors.
Suggested by Daniel Caughill, Co-Founder At The Dog Tale
Bichon Frise

Bichon Frises are another great indoor breed due to their affectionate and playful nature. They have low energy levels and are hypoallergenic, making them a great choice for families with allergies.
Suggested by Meg Marrs, Founder Of K9 Of Mine
Lhasa Apso

The Lhasa Apso is a calm and balanced companion dog. His small size allows him to perfectly tolerate an indoor lifestyle, provided, of course, that he takes a few daily walks. It is an ancient breed that appeared in Tibet, around the city of Lhasa, in the Buddhist monasteries.

These 21 Breeds Make the Best House Dogs

Whether you’re living on your own or with family members and looking to add a pup to the mix, you may wonder which breeds make the best house dogs. Ultimately, it depends on what your home situation looks like and how you can devote your time.
“Picking a dog who fits your lifestyle is extremely important,” says Laura Robinson, DVM, lead veterinary advisor to Pawp. She explains that just because some breeds are cute or fun doesn’t necessarily mean they’re a great fit for your particular home. For example, if your schedule doesn’t accommodate a Siberian husky’s exercise needs, he may become bored and pick up some undesirable, destructive behaviors.
A few things to consider when picking a breed, she says, include:
Shed level: Do you mind having a dog who needs regular grooming or frequent vacuuming?
Activity level: How many minutes of playtime and exercise are you willing to give the dog each day? Research the energy levels of the breeds you want and pick one that suits your lifestyle.
Barking level: Do you live in an apartment? A dog that barks a lot might not be the best fit (your neighbors will thank you!).
Friendliness: Do you want a dog who is friendly to everyone and/or good with kids?
From charming Chihuahuas to mellow Newfoundlands, we’ve rounded up the best house dogs to fit your family.
Labrador Retriever

Labrador retrievers have been known as the most popular dog for decades, and for good reason! “Labs make amazing family dogs. They are typically very friendly, happy, go with the flow dogs, and typically love all people,” Robinson says. Because they are retrievers, they can be very active at times, so it’s best to carve out about an hour for playtime every day. They do shed quite a bit but are definitely worth the extra time spent vacuuming!
Miniature Schnauzer

The miniature schnauzer is bound to be your bearded bestie. Mini schnauzers are super affectionate and great with families and children, Robinson says. Friendly and courageous, mini schnauzers thrive when they get about an hour of exercise daily, consisting of playtime primarily inside combined with a nice walk. Miniature schnauzers don’t shed much, making them a fantastic match for allergy sufferers—although, they do require regular grooming to keep their coat in tip-top shape.
Newfoundland

Who can resist this cute bear face? Robinson describes the Newfoundland as a “calm, gentle giant” who does not require much to be happy. The Newfoundland is a laid back breed who is extremely easygoing and loyal to her family. A Newfie’s favorite pastimes include going out for short 30 minute walks every day and observing the world around them. Because they grow up to be large dogs, it’s important they have enough space to relax and roam. You’ll also want to brush her long, thick coat regularly and have a towel ready for her drool. Prepare for some slobbery, wet kisses!
Maltese

The Maltese is a darling breed devoted to her family. Smart and sweet, Maltese can spend time alone—although, they’d rather be in your arms! Robinson says they’re “best with families who are home most of the day as they like a lot of attention.” These gentle pups don’t require a lot of exercise, but they do like going for walks or doing zoomies in the backyard. With a coat so flowy and glamorous, Maltese require routine grooming but do not shed much.
Japanese Spitz

Small and sturdy, the adaptable Japanese spitz can live well in any environment. As long as he gets enough exercise, he’ll thrive as an apartment dweller!

If you have children or other pets in your household, the adorable (and adaptable!) Japanese spitz will get along with everyone. Robinson describes these cloud dogs as “funny dogs with a sense of humor,” who are also loyal and bright, making them wonderful companions. A playful breed, the Japanese spitz requires at least 45 minutes of interactive play and regular walks.
Greyhound

Greyhounds are social dogs who want to be wherever their family is. These aren’t pups that do well when left to their own devices.

The Greyhound is an excellent family pet. Nicknamed “40-mph-couch potatoes,” Greyhounds are graceful and loving. “Their intelligence and breed make them great house pets—clean, calm, and an affectionate companion,” Robinson says. Although they’re considered to be the fastest dog breed, Greyhounds are happy to lounge in the house or go out for long walks.
Shih Tzu

Meet your new cuddle buddy! The shih tzu is always ready for some rest and retreat with you. Robinson describes shih tzus as being “quite outgoing and friendly” and will get along with the entire family, both two-legged and four-legged. They have beautiful, long locks, which as you can imagine, do require some brushing and regular grooming.
Chihuahua

“Loyal” might as well be the Chihuahua’s middle name. This tiny but mighty breed loves being around their family and may be an ideal fit for those who work from home or are retired, Robinson says. Chihuahuas are smart, affectionate lapdogs who might not need much exercise due to their small size but do appreciate short, daily walks.
Dachshund

This hot dog-shaped pooch makes a wonderful addition to any home. Robinson says Dachshunds love to be close to their family and prefer inside play (try one of these interactive toys for endless fun!) with short walks. These spunky dogs will love being anywhere as long as they’re with you.
French Bulldog

If you think “obviously” when Netflix asks if you’re still there in the middle of your Ozark marathon, the French bulldog will be right there on the couch with you. Gentle, quirky, and smart, Frenchies love attention and will happily play with any member of the family. Because they’re prone to heat exhaustion, it’s best that Frenchies spend most of their time indoors. Keep them entertained with dog puzzle toys or KONG toys.
American Hairless Terrier

Like all breeds, playful American hairless terrier puppies need early and consistent socialization and training to grow into well-mannered pets.

Are you or a family member allergic to pets? The American hairless terrier might just be the best dog for your household. American hairless terriers are not only downright adorable but also extremely playful, loyal, and courageous. A great fit for active pet parents who can shower them in love and attention, these pups will jump for joy at the chance to burn off some energy, whether inside or outside. Since they don’t have fur, it’s important to apply dog sunscreen to protect their skin and dress them in the appropriate clothing to keep them warm.
Collie

Collies are sweet, calm, and gentle-mannered, Robinson says. They’re an empathetic breed who enjoy spending time with children and other animals, making them a great house and family pet. They love to play, and while they don’t require constant exercise, they make the perfect running buddy on your morning or afternoon jog! Collies do shed a lot, so it’s important she’s brushed and groomed often.
Pug

Pugs are here for all the cuddles! These wide-eyed cuties cherish their companionship with their humans and love to be the center of attention, Robinson says. They have a moderate amount of energy and don’t bark much, which is a big plus if you live in an apartment. A silly breed sure to make you laugh, pugs can’t think of a better place to be than right beside you—and will gladly take a snooze in your lap.
Coton de Tulear

An affectionate and loyal breed, the Coton de Tulear is just as sweet as she is fluffy. Cotons are outgoing, energetic, and will get along with everyone from children to older adults, as well as other pets in the household. Cotons prefer to be with company so they can entertain and play as much as their hearts desire.
Bichon Frise

The little floof known as the bichon frise is an amazing family dog who gets along with people and animals alike. A winning match for owners with pet allergies, bichons are low-shedding pups. Robinson says this breed needs playtime but is happy to do so inside along with some short walks outside.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

While he may have the regal name, the Cavalier King Charles spaniel will treat you and your family like royalty. Robinson considers the breed to be one of the best apartment dogs, as all it takes are some short walks for them to be happy. The Cavalier King Charles spaniel is incredibly sweet and friendly and loves to be around his people!
Japanese Chin

Because of their small size and “cat-like” behavior, Japanese chin are ideal pets for apartment dwellers.

Bred to be a companion, the Japanese chin is a small, rare breed proud to be your lapdog. This breed is sometimes described as “cat-like,” Robinson says, and will generally do better in a calm, quiet home. She describes the Japanese chin as intelligent, good with families and older children, and best suited to be indoors. These pups are easy to care for as they don’t need much exercise or playtime but do need some weekly brushing.
Mastiff

Mastiffs are massive sweethearts who are easygoing and low maintenance. Consider yourself a couch potato? The mastiff will love to lay with you and watch TV! “While mastiffs are very large and can be big droolers, they are great family dogs and have a very gentle nature,” Robinson says. “They are typically very affectionate with their family and don’t require that much exercise. “
Havanese

With their big brains and eager personalities, Havanese dogs are eager to please and can pick up training easily. But go easy on rewarding with treats—these little guys can pack on the pounds.

Lovingly nicknamed a Velcro dog due to his loyalty and devotion, the Havanese is a total sweetheart sure to steal your heart. Havanese are friendly dogs who prefer to be in your lap and showered with affection and attention. Intelligent and charming, they are a bouncy bundle of joy who make wonderful companions to all humans and pets in the household. While his lovely coat is considered to be low shedding, you’ll want to invest in a good brush since it does require regular grooming.

Fun, feisty, and devoted—that’s the Yorkshire terrier! These pint-sized pups make fantastic house dogs and prefer to be where you are. They have tons of personality, are playful (they’ll take every squeaky toy you’ve got!), and like going out for short walks. Yorkies are a low-shedding breed, which is ideal if you or a family member have pet allergies.
Miniature Poodle

These intelligent teddy bears are just as clever as they are loving. Miniature poodles are gentle, easy to train, and friendly with children and other pets. Robinson says they “do need a little more exercise than other small dogs but are very happy inside as long as they get some exercise.” Since these little athletes tend to have higher amounts of energy, you can keep them active and content with games of fetch, long walks, or swims. (They’ll also benefit from enrichment toys and puzzles.) Miniature poodles require daily brushing and frequent grooming to keep their coats from getting matted.

Summing up
Before you get a dog, you will certainly study the necessary information about it: talk to breeders, owners of a particular breed, read articles and forums. If you live in an apartment, find out how the four-legged will feel in it – maybe a house is more suitable for him?
There are about 400 dog breeds in the world. Of course, not all fit in our top. But we hope that it will help you choose a dog that will be comfortable living in an apartment.
Small breeds
Pomeranian
Origin: Germany.
Weight: average 2 kg.
Height at the withers: up to 22 cm.
Lifespan: up to 16 years.
According to some reports, it is the Pomeranian that is the most popular dog breed in our country. These adorable little ones are perfect companions for families with children as well as the elderly. Despite the miniature size, a small but brave lion sits in the soul of the Pomeranian, who will certainly rush to help if he feels that the pet parent is in danger.
Representatives of the breed have a luxurious fluffy coat, which must be regularly looked after – it will not do without daily combing and periodic visits to the grooming salon.
Yorkshire Terrier
Birthplace: Scotland.
Weight: up to 3 kg.
Height at the withers: up to 23 cm.
Life expectancy: on average – 15 years.
Four-legged natives of Scotland became popular during the reign of Queen Victoria (by the way, we will also mention her – the monarch loved dogs). These active pets amaze with their indefatigable energy, courage and, of course, boundless devotion to the family.
The breed belongs to the category of low-allergenic: the fact is that Yorkies do not shed. However, their luxurious coat (sometimes referred to as hair) requires regular grooming. And to keep your pet healthy and active for as long as possible, choose for him high grade food – holistic, super-premium, premium.
Jack Russell Terrier
Origin: UK.
Weight: 5-7 kg.
Height at the withers: up to 30 cm.
Lifespan: up to 16 years.
The breed owes its name to the British priest Jack Russell. And she gained popularity in the world after the release of the film “The Mask” with Jim Carrey in the title role, where a brave dog named Milo helps out the unlucky owner.
Jack Russell Terriers are the owners of irrepressible energy, which they need to throw out somewhere, so the pet parent needs to be ready for long and active walks. And in order to pass the time in nature, it is better to take toys with you – the pet runs with pleasure for ball or frisbee .
Bichon Frize
Origin: France.
Weight: up to 3 kg.
Height at the withers: 25-30 cm.
Lifespan: up to 15 years.
Bichon Frize, or French lapdog – breed. Its representatives have a snow-white coat, which, as in the case of Yorkies, does not shed. However, regular grooming is indispensable – this will help to avoid tangles.
Pay special attention to the care of the Frenchie’s eyes: clean them every day with special lotions or wipes .
Bichon Frize are ideal pets for families with children: they get along well with kids and become true friends for them.
Russian Toy Terrier
Origin: Russia.
Weight: up to 3 kg.
Height at the withers: up to 28 cm.
Lifespan: 10-12 years.
If you have a small apartment, then the Russian toy terrier is perfect for you as a pet – these four-legged pets need a small space for a comfortable life.
Representatives of the breed will be happy to accompany the pet-parent anywhere and everywhere, so without carrying is indispensable. Put your favorite four-legged toy inside.
Pug
Origin: China.
Weight: up to 8 kg.
Height at the withers: 28-30 cm.
Life expectancy: on average – 14-15 years.
The pug is not just ancient, but the oldest breed of dog: references to it can be found in the works of Confucius. The Chinese believed that a certain mysterious hieroglyph was encrypted in the cute folds on the muzzles of these dogs.
Representatives of the breed are not fans of an active lifestyle, so you can do without long walks. But the pug will gladly settle down next to his beloved pet-parent, uttering heroic snoring. The pet will appreciate the warm soft bed in which you can sleep for a few pleasant hours.
Chihuahua
Origin: Mexico.
Weight: up to 3 kg.
Height at the withers: 14-24 cm.
Life expectancy: 14-15 years.
Chihuahuas are pets who are not ready to share their owner’s attention with someone: they are jealous of their own person, love attention and do not tolerate loneliness. At the same time, do not mind playing or going on a trip – if only the pet-parent was nearby.
The birthplace of these dogs is hot Mexico, which means that in our climate they have a hard time. In order for your pet to be comfortable, in the cold season, put warm clothes on him.0003 jackets , sweaters , overalls .
Medium breeds
American Cocker Spaniel
Origin: USA.
Weight: up to 14 kg.
Height at withers: 34-40 cm.
Life expectancy: 13-14 years.
The American Cocker Spaniel is another owner of a long coat that needs constant grooming. But these four-legged animals are sociable and inquisitive: if you have a child, then the pet will be happy to help the baby make new discoveries every day.
Representatives of the breed are born hunters, so they will be happy to keep you company while walking through the forest. To protect your pet from parasites, pre-treat his coat with a flea and tick remedy.
Basenji
Origin: Central Africa.
Weight: 9-11 kg.
Height at withers: 40-43 cm.
Life expectancy: 12-16 years.
If you are afraid of complaints from your neighbors, then the Basenji will suit you perfectly: representatives of the breed do not bark. This is due to the peculiarity of the structure of the vocal apparatus. However, there is an ancient legend according to which, many years ago, the leader of the basenji pack learned the terrible secret of the native tribe and swore to keep silent forever.
The “silence” of the basenji is more than compensated by their character: they get along well with children and other pets, are attached to their family, whose members are ready to faithfully protect.
It is important for a pet parent to remember that the Basenji does not tolerate cold well, so in winter and autumn you will need warm clothes for walks.
Border Collie
Origin: UK.
Weight: up to 20 kg.
Height at withers: 47-53 cm.
Lifespan: about 15 years.
The Border Collie is ranked as the smartest dog breed by Stanley Coren. However, the high intelligence of its representatives was appreciated by the already mentioned Queen Victoria, who even settled several border collies in Buckingham Palace.
Border Collies get along well with other pets, as well as with kids, for whom, by the way, they become excellent nannies. Of course, a country house is better suited for such a dog, however, it will also feel good in an apartment if enough time is devoted to active games during walks.
Sharpei
Origin: China.
Weight: up to 35 kg.
Height at withers: 40-52 cm.
Lifespan: up to 12-13 years.
Shar Pei is another breed that boasts an ancient origin: it is believed that it originated around 202 BC. Nature has rewarded its representatives with a complex character: these dogs are characterized by a certain amount of stubbornness, therefore they need pet parents who can become an authority for them.
Shar Pei is not only a blue-black tongue, but also cute folds on the body, which must be taken care of daily: wipe it with special wet wipes, which will help to avoid the occurrence of dermatitis.
Airedale Terrier
Origin: UK.
Weight: approx. 20 kg.
Height at withers: 56-61 cm.
Lifespan: on average – 13 years.
Charming black-and-red “bearded men” are familiar to us from the film “Adventures of Electronics” since childhood. They are active, sometimes even unnecessarily, so regular active walks are indispensable. This is one of those breeds whose representatives do not tolerate being alone.
The Airedale Terrier does not shed, making it an ideal pet for those with furniture concerns. However, the coarse coat of these four-legged animals needs regular trimming .
Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Origin: UK.
Weight: 9-13 kg.
Height at the withers: up to 30 cm.
Lifespan: up to 12 years.
Probably everyone knows how much Queen Elizabeth II loved the Pembroke Welsh Corgi – several representatives of the breed have always lived in Buckingham Palace. The royal person appreciated these devoted, cheerful and intelligent four-legged, which are called “little dogs with a big heart.”
A future pet parent who decides to get a Pembroke Welsh Corgi needs to remember that the breed is prone to obesity, so choose holistic, premium, super-premium food classes for your pet, and also support his physical activity.
Poodle
Origin: France.
Weight: up to 2.5 (toy), up to 8 kg (dwarf), up to 14 kg (small), up to 30 kg (large).
Height at the withers: up to 28 cm (toy), up to 35 cm (dwarf), up to 45 cm (small), up to 60 cm (large).
Lifespan: about 15 years.
Whatever type of poodle you choose, know that furry happiness with high intelligence will settle in your house. The pet will understand you perfectly, easily learn new tricks, and become a true friend for the child.
The poodle belongs to the category of low-allergenic breeds, while the coat does not have an unpleasant odor. And yet without regular combing using grooming tools indispensable. And to support your pet’s mental abilities, buy toys for him, including “smart” ones.
Large Breeds
Labrador Retriever
Origin: UK.
Weight: 25-34 kg.
Height at withers: 54-57 cm.
Lifespan: up to 13 years old.
Loyal, obedient, affectionate, intelligent – these are far from all the characteristics that Labrador pet parents are ready to give to their pets. These dogs are wonderful companions who become true friends for both the elderly and families with children. By the way, Labradors are attracted to the work of public services – thanks to their excellent ability to learn and interact with people.
Labrador Retriever is one of the breeds, whose representatives are prone to obesity, so you need to monitor the weight of your pet: play with him more often and feed him with balanced diets , while observing the dosage.
Golden Retriever
Origin: UK.
Weight: 25-41 kg.
Height at withers: 51-61 cm.
Lifespan: 12-13 years.
Golden Retrievers are good-natured dogs that will win you over with their gentle nature. They get along well with children and other pets. At the same time, they are suspicious of strangers: a person will have to try to enter the circle of trust of such a dog.
Perhaps the main drawback of the retriever can be called a plentiful molt. To reduce it, brush your pet regularly and choose high grade food for him – holistic, super premium, premium .
German Shepherd
Origin: Germany.
Weight: 22-40 kg.
Height at the withers: 55-65 cm.
Life expectancy: on average – up to 13 years.
The German Shepherd is not inferior in popularity to the Labrador: representatives of this breed often become not only pets, but also stars of films and TV shows. Remember the famous “Commissioner Rex”? After the release of this series, many children began to dream of a German Shepherd – an intelligent, loyal and brave dog.
Despite their impressive size, representatives of the breed feel great both in a country house and in an apartment. The main thing is to provide a pet balanced meals , own sun bed and toys .
Boxer
Origin: Germany.
Weight: 25-30 kg.
Height at withers: 53-63 cm.
Lifespan: 11-12 years.
Surely many will be surprised to see a boxer in our top. For some reason, they were perceived as scary and aggressive dogs. This is not true. The fact is that the upbringing of any dog needs to be dealt with – socialized, taught to interact with people and other pets. Yes, a boxer needs a firm hand, and it is also unlikely to do without a training course. But from the puppy will grow a devoted, affectionate and friendly dog who will love his family no matter what.
Caring for such a pet is easy. It is important to periodically play with him – a boxer needs an active pastime. The warm bed will not interfere with the pet, because representatives of the breed do not tolerate cold very well.
Summing up
As you have noticed, many breeds of dogs feel great in city apartments. Most of them belong to the owners of small sizes, however, among medium and large pets, you can also find those who will be fine everywhere. After all, the main thing is a beloved pet-parent nearby.

The best breeds of dogs that can live in an apartment without problems – Timashevsk News
I want a dog! For many, this is a childhood dream. It seems there is nothing easier: I wanted and started. But the dog is the most devoted and disinterested friend. She will live with her master in any conditions and protect her man until her last breath.
Any dog, even the smallest one, would like to live in a spacious house with a large yard, where one can “manage” from the heart. But not every owner can offer a pet such conditions. Moreover, it is also an expensive pleasure. How to find a four-legged friend for living together in an apartment?
The best dogs for an apartment are those that make do with little space and don’t need much outdoor exercise. The size of the dog is very important, but temperament, physiology, and the character traits of the breed to which it belongs are no less important.
And so, let’s take a look at the top 7 dog breeds suitable for living in an apartment according to Realtor.com
Toy Poodle
This is a big dog personality in a small package that gets almost all the necessary exercises, in a small apartment space. Poodles do not shed but need regular bathing and trimming. It’s not a big deal to train these pet dogs or use potty pads, so you don’t have to take them outside three to six times a day to answer the call of nature. This is great for those who live in a high-rise or outing, don’t feel like exercising, or prefer a pet that fits in their purse.
Mastiff
Large and gentle dog that won’t harass you with its need for open spaces. Despite its gigantic size, it does not require much exercise. Its size is, in fact, the reason for its low energy.
Shih Tzu
Hairy cutie, bred as a companion. He has no hunting genes. It is compact in size and quite happy indoors, making it an ideal apartment dog. But her long, silky fur requires daily brushing to prevent knots, bathing at least once a week, and regular trimming.
English Bulldog
This is a charmer with a drooping jaw – strong growth. But once they outgrow the puppy stage, they become big, wrinkled couch potatoes, making them one of the best apartment dogs around. For people living at home, this is the perfect companion.
Great Dane
Great Dane can be an excellent apartment dog. On its hind legs, it can tower over people; but indoors it is relatively inactive, largely due to its large size (like a mastiff). This affectionate shorthaired breed is relatively graceful. The likelihood that this dog will bark and scare the neighbors is low.

Independence Day is celebrated on the anniversary of national independence. It is the day when a nation was declared as a free nation and got its own rights to make laws of their own state.
There are many countries in this world that were once a part of some other monarchy or a bigger power. But after fighting for independence they got their own national identity and emerged on the world map as a separate independent nation. It is important for kids to learn what is Independence Day and the Independence Day history of their own country. Every country has its own story of how they got their independence and becomes a part of the nation’s history.

Indian Independence Day 2023 – Information and Facts for Children
India celebrates its independence day on August 15 every year. Independence day is celebrated with much fervour and enthusiasm across the country. People of different ethnicities, religion, caste and gender unite in celebration. But kids of this generation don’t know how India achieved independence – there is so much that your kids can learn about India’s struggle for independence. Read this article to know some interesting facts about Indian Independence day that your kids can learn.
When and Why Do We Celebrate Independence Day?
Indian people were done with the British rule and so they decided in 1929 to demand full independence from the British on 26th January 1930. However, the British did not agree to this and went on to rule India until 15th August 1947.
On July 18, 1947, the British had passed a law that stated that on 15th August 1947, India would become an independent country and would cease to be a part of the British Empire. Thus, India gained its freedom on the latter date, and since then, every 15th August is celebrated as India’s Independence Day. It must be noted that the date of 26th January was still remembered and later became the date when India became a republic nation in 1950.
Independence Day is celebrated in remembrance of the sacrifices that our leaders made so that we could live as free citizens and as the masters of our own destiny.
History of Independence Day of India
The British came as traders to India in the 1600’s and were allowed trading rights by the powerful Indian Emperor Jehangir. India was then ruled by the Mughals who were too powerful for the British. It is only later when the Mughal empire disintegrated that the British began to conquer small parts of India. Starting with the battle of Plassey in 1757, the British began expanding rapidly throughout India till 1857.
In 1857, the Indians were fed up of the British, and there was a massive uprising throughout Northern India where Indian leaders of different backgrounds fought against the British. It is famously known as the first battle of Independence, and the British stopped expanding to other territories within India after this.
The British went on to rule India despite the freedom movement. The struggle for freedom brought the nation together. Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, started many movements to force the British to leave India. By 1945, the British economy was destroyed because of World War 2, and they knew it was only a matter of time before they leave. However, on this happy day, there was also the tragedy of partition where India was divided into India and Pakistan.
How Is 15
th August Celebrated in India by Children?

Day of Russia – June 12. The history and features of the holiday in the project Holiday Calendar 2023
Russia Day is an important public holiday (Photo: Tatiana Popova, Shutterstock)
Russia Day is an important public holiday of the Russian Federation, celebrated annually on June 12. Until 2002, it was referred to as the Day of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia. This is one of the “youngest” public holidays in the country.
June 12 19In 1990, the first Congress of People’s Deputies of the RSFSR adopted the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Russia, which proclaimed the supremacy of the Constitution of Russia and its laws. By that time, many republics of the USSR had already decided on their sovereignty, so this document was adopted in conditions when the republics became independent one after another. An important milestone in the strengthening of Russian statehood was the adoption of a new name for the country – the Russian Federation (Russia).
By the way, it was on June 12, in addition to “independence”, that Russia gained its first President – on this day, but already at 19In 1991, the first nationwide open presidential elections in the history of the country were held, in which B.N. Yeltsin. It was he who, by his decree No. 1113 of June 2, 1994, gave June 12 a state significance, and the holiday itself was called the Day of the Declaration of the State Sovereignty of the Russian Federation. Later, for simplicity, it was called Independence Day.
But the first attempt to create the main state holiday, which would mark the beginning of the new history of Russia, was assessed ambiguously. Among the people, it was interpreted in different ways, and polls of the population of those years clearly demonstrated the complete lack of understanding among Russians of the essence of the holiday. For most, June 12 has become another day off when you can go somewhere on vacation or to the country. Although festive events were held in a number of Russian cities, there was no particular scope.
In his speech in honor of this holiday in 1998, Boris Yeltsin tried once and for all to stop the gossip about June 12 by suggesting that it be celebrated as the Day of Russia. Officially, the holiday received a new name on February 1, 2002, when the provisions of the new Labor Code of the Russian Federation came into force.
Back in 2001, speaking in the Kremlin at a reception on the occasion of the Day of the adoption of the Declaration on State Sovereignty of Russia, the President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin said that: “This document started our new history. Stories of a democratic state based on civil liberties and the rule of law. And its main meaning is the success, prosperity and well-being of citizens” .
Today the Day of Russia is increasingly acquiring patriotic features and is becoming a symbol of the national unity of the people of Russia and the common responsibility for the present and future of the country. This is a celebration of freedom, civil peace and the good consent of all people on the basis of law and justice.
On this day, many festive and celebratory events are held in all Russian cities, in which citizens of all ages take part. In the Kremlin, the President of Russia presents State Prizes of the Russian Federation, and the main celebrations, of course, take place in Moscow on Red Square and end with a grand fireworks display in honor of the Day of Russia.

what date, history and traditions of the holiday
About half of Russians do not know which holiday is celebrated on June 12th. Such results from year to year are given by surveys of the Levada Center research organization.
According to this study, only every second person can correctly name the holiday celebrated in Russia on this day. The rest either remember the old names, or confuse Russia Day with another official holiday, or cannot answer at all.
Which, however, is understandable. During its short history, this holiday has changed its name several times and has been recognized as a state holiday more than once. Therefore, the inhabitants of the country remember either the Day of the adoption of the declaration, or the Independence Day. And many people confuse this holiday with the Russian Constitution Day, which is also celebrated on the 12th, but not June, but December.
Let’s sort out the confusion once and for all: June 12, we celebrate the Day of Russia.
By the way, as in previous years, in 2023, on the occasion of the holiday, Russians will have one day off. This time, June 12 falls on a Monday, and it will become an additional day off.
How we celebrate and relax on Russia Day in 2023
Russia Day is considered one of the youngest public holidays in Russia, it dates back to 1990, when the Declaration of Independence of the country was signed.
And eleven years later, President Vladimir Putin, speaking in the Kremlin at a reception on the occasion of the Day of the Declaration, said:
“This document began the countdown of our new history. Stories of a democratic state based on civil liberties and the rule of law. And its main meaning is the success, prosperity and well-being of citizens” .
On June 12, 2023, festive events will be held in all cities of the country. Muscovites on this day are waiting for concerts, free tours, festivals. And, of course, the traditional fireworks on Red Square. Their programs are also planned in other Russian cities.
Another tradition of celebrating the Day of Russia has become the annual ceremony of awarding by the President of specialists in the field of science and technology, literature and art, as well as in the field of humanitarian activities.
From the history of the Day of Russia holiday
In fact, by coincidence, June 12 became historical for Russia twice.
The first time was when in 1990 the Congress of People’s Deputies of the then RSFSR adopted the Declaration on the state sovereignty of the country. It was then that the primacy of the Constitution of Russia and its laws was proclaimed, equal rights were affirmed for all citizens, political parties and public organizations. They also agreed on the principle of separation of legislative, executive and judicial powers.
Exactly one year later, to the same day, the first open nationwide presidential elections were held in the history of the country. Then, we recall, Boris Yeltsin won with a margin of 57.3%.
So the day of June 12 became twice significant for Russia.
Surprisingly, June 12 was also recognized as a public holiday twice.
First, the Supreme Council of the Russian Federation, by its resolution of June 11, 1992, established that “the day the Declaration of State Sovereignty was adopted – June 12 – is a holiday non-working day. ”
Then, after the autumn events of 1993, the decisions of the Supreme Council became, as it were, illegitimate – and on June 2, 1994, Yeltsin declared “June 12 a public holiday” by his Decree.
And some time later, in 1998, it was decided to rename the holiday to the Day of Russia.
However, this was officially done only in 2002, when the new Labor Code of the Russian Federation came into force. Among other things, it included new holidays and weekends. Among them is the Day of Russia.
