How to take care of an Ant Farm
It is very interesting and exciting to study wildlife, having an ant farm at home. But it is not enough just to buy a formicarium. You need to know how to care for an ant farm.
ANTKingdom is a formicaria dealer and has extensive experience in breeding and keeping ants at home. In this article, we will tell you how to properly care for the farm so that the insects feel fun and cheerful!
Ant infestation
It is best to purchase formicarium together with ants. Then you do not have to decide how many insects should be in the farm. If there is not enough space for them, they will begin to control the population.
In the first days, ants can live in a test tube or immediately move. At the same time, they can hide in their new home without being active. This is a normal reaction – adaptation. After acclimatization, the colony will actively develop. If the ants are in no hurry to leave the test tube, it is recommended to darken the living passages, since these insects are very fond of darkness.
What to feed
Feeding these insects is easy. To do this, just remove the lid and put food. There are 2 types of feeders – for protein and grain. The main thing is to know what you can give to ants. At the same time, the feeding process takes 5 minutes a week. Food should be given in small portions so that it does not remain and does not rot.
Plant or animal food is used to feed ants. First of all, they need carbohydrates, which are required for energy production. Ants also require protein to allow the insects to reproduce.
The choice depends on the type of insects kept in the farm. Be sure to ask what family they belong to and what they can eat. You can buy food on our website.
How to properly water ants
It is simply impossible to overestimate the importance of water for an ant farm. Remember, water is much more important for these insects than food. An ant can go without food for several weeks, without water it will last a maximum of 2-3 days.
Water is poured into drinkers. Farm humidification chambers are not suitable for this. Lack of water will lead to the death of insects, so this aspect should be given special attention and in no case should we forget about replenishing water supplies for insects.
How to properly moisten formicaria
To ensure a comfortable life for ants, it is necessary to maintain a certain level of humidity in their home. In the formicaria offered by ANTKingdom, special humidification chambers are provided for this purpose.
With a lack of moisture in the living chambers, ants begin to accumulate near the humidifiers in the arena. The main thing is to pay attention to this during the time, and restore the required level of humidity as quickly as possible.
It is very difficult to monitor the humidity level from the behavior of insects. You can solve this problem with the help of a hygrometer – a device for determining the humidity of the air, which can be purchased in our online store. It will help you easily determine how much water needs to be poured into the chambers. completely solving this problem.
If you are just starting to learn how to care for an ant farm, be careful about moistening, trying to find the optimal water level in the chambers of the formicarium. The best solution is to buy a hygrometer, otherwise mistakes cannot be avoided.
Care
Ants are easy to care for. These insects are quite unpretentious. However, you should know the rules for their maintenance:
Do not put the farm in a sunny or very bright place.
Do not move the formicarium unnecessarily.
Avoid vibration near the truss.
Feed the ants in a timely manner, do not forget to water them during the time and maintain the correct level of humidity!
The farm should be cleaned regularly as food and waste products accumulate. There will be no problems with leaving, because ants are clean insects that drag all the garbage to a certain place in the arena. It is convenient to clean the formicarium with tweezers or a handheld vacuum cleaner.
Do not spray anything near the Formicarium.
By following these simple rules, you can create comfortable conditions for insects in which they can develop and multiply well.
Basic rules for keeping an ant farm
For beginners, other rules for caring for ants will be interesting, which will help in their maintenance: . They are undemanding to the conditions of detention and have a clear classification by profession. At the same time, they differ in size and properties, so everyone can find an option “to their liking”;
worker ant lives for about 3 years, the queen is up to 25 years or more.
To organize an ant farm, a small formicarium with dimensions of 25x20x10 cm (“M”) is first suitable. After about 2-3 years, the colony grows and if the owner of the farm has a desire to increase the population, he will need a more serious house for ants, which can be bought on our website. If there is no such desire, the ants themselves will control the optimal number. Delivery to any region of the country is possible, since insects are sent in special containers, with the necessary supplies of water and feed.

All about caring for an ant farm and ants: how to populate, feed, clean
Have you got ants as pets, but do not know how to properly care for these insects? How can a beginner provide an artificial anthill with everything necessary and create favorable conditions for the development of a colony? We will help!
In order for your formicaria to thrive with life, it is important to consider a number of aspects:
food;
life support;
maintenance of suitable conditions;
insect care.
All of these are important factors that directly affect the life of your colony.
The first settlers
When you have made your first arthropod friends, you should take care of the housing problem. For a comfortable stay, the colony must correspond to the size of the ant farm. If there is not enough space, the ants can die, and if there is a large amount of unused territory, they can collect garbage and food leftovers there.
After settling, ants may behave unnaturally – hide, do not communicate with each other, refuse food or water. This is fine. Full acclimatization takes time.
After settlement there should be free cells – the colony will develop, it will need more space.
Watch a video on how to populate an ant farm:
Food delivery
Although anthills do not require constant monitoring, it is necessary to provide insects with food. Even beginners can handle it – just remove the lid and put food in.
Feed depends on insect species . Some prefer other insects (mosquitoes, mealworms, crickets), others eat plant foods.
For feeding, either small portions that are easy to consume immediately on the spot (eg bread crumbs) or whole pieces that are difficult to carry into other compartments are suitable. Do not give insects an excess amount of food – food leftovers will simply rot, become moldy.
Also don’t forget about water. Depending on the type of farm, the liquid is poured into special drinkers or distributed throughout the anthill itself. Without water, the colony will die of dehydration.
Humidification
For the comfortable existence of ants, it is necessary to maintain the level of humidity. For humidification, special chambers are provided (in small ones – 1, in large ones – 2 or 3), they must be filled with water. To correctly calculate the liquid level, watch the formicarium. With excess moisture, ants are less active and try to hide. If there is not enough moisture, condensation and a water film disappear from the walls.
Care must be taken at the beginning of the ant farm, e For beginners, humidification chambers located at a distance from the colony are suitable. This will protect insects from high humidity at first. If necessary, these arthropods will independently change their place of residence, choosing the best rooms.
Care
How to take care of the inhabitants of the ant farm and provide the ants with everything they need? It is not difficult – such insects do not require special conditions of detention, regular changes in temperature or adjustment of indicators.
Beginners should remember a few simple rules:
Do not place the farm in direct sunlight.
Do not shake the formicarium, do not move the ants unnecessarily.
Do not forget to feed the ants correctly and on time. You can pamper arthropods with sweet syrup or seeds (universal food for any species).
Maintain the farm regularly. Without proper care, food or high humidity, the colony will decrease significantly.
Don’t forget to clean your home. Remains of food, garbage and other waste accumulate in the compartments. Beginners are advised to use tweezers when cleaning, and place ants in test tubes or separate containers.
Move the ants carefully, using an exhauster (a device for gently moving small insects) is the correct option. Some species of these insects are able to spit out poison.
By following these rules, you will provide your little pets with a long and comfortable existence.
Questions and Answers
Which type should I choose for my first move-in?
For beginners, representatives from the myrmicin family are excellent. These are the most evolutionarily developed groups. It is interesting to watch them – insects have a clear classification according to castes and professions.
When do I need to bring food?
Hungry members of the insect family are almost always waiting for you. First of all, food goes to the uterus and larvae, and then to simple hard workers. To correctly calculate the portion, follow their movements – when the ants stop showing interest in food and pass it on to the uterus, the meal is over. Untouched food can be removed.
I got bitten! What to do?
For ant farms, they offer insects with not the most toxic poison, so nothing threatens health. Most often, formic acid causes redness on the skin or burning on the mucous membrane if it gets into the eyes. To soothe, a baby cream or soothing lotion is suitable.
I’m new! How can I care for the formicarium so that the ants live long?
An ant queen can live for more than 20 years, simple hard workers – 2-3 years. By providing comfortable conditions for the queen, you will be able to enjoy an artificial anthill for almost a quarter of a century.
One ant died on the farm – is it contagious?
During relocation, insects are stressed, so the death of 1-2 individuals is not a serious disease. Also, workers often die from old age, from overpopulation.
Several ants ran away, what should I do: look for them or forget them?
In the colony there are often scouts who go out to inspect the area. But to create a full-fledged ant family, they need a uterus. If such daredevils do not return after 3-4 days, then they have already died.
How to choose the right ant farm?
Many artificial anthills! There are for long-term maintenance (gypsum, sand, vertical and horizontal) and for short-term (helium).
Beginners are advised to purchase an acrylic farm first to try their hand at getting to know the insects better. Such formicaria are designed for 1-1.5 years.
In the future, the colony will grow and you will need to connect additional passages. For long-term keeping of ants, you can choose a convenient and practical anthill with built-in compartments, a well-thought-out humidification system and a large arena.

Summary
John Bailey, one of ICON’s Veteran Leadership Transition Program Alumni shares his path from serving in the armed forces to joining the clinical research industry.
ICON’s Veteran Leadership Transition Program (VLTP) is designed to recruit those who have served in the armed forces, providing the training and development to ultimately transition them into Project Management roles.
John joined ICON in July 2018 as a Project Manager within the ICON Biotech Solutions division. With the support of Project Teams, Functional Management and VLTP community, John was able to develop the skills and acquire the knowledge necessary to manage and direct trials to success, which subsequently led to a promotion to Senior Project Manager in May 2021.
We asked John to share his experience and insight into the program and life at ICON.
Can you tell us about the Veteran Transition Leadership Program (VTLP)? The Veteran Leadership Transition Program (VLTP) is intentionally structured to be a small to medium-scale program that focuses heavily on mentorship and the progression of the individual. The program’s inherent flexibility allows the Veteran to transition smoothly from the military and start a new career in a stable, rewarding industry.
How has ICON supported you in excelling in your role? In addition to the corporate-wide support structure ICON has, the Veteran mentorship, available trainings, and courseware; I have had outstanding non-veteran directors and clinical experts that have taken time out of their day to help me understand more of the why behind what we all do.
Describe the culture and your team at ICON. The culture within the Project Management Group supports collaboration at a study team level. Cohesiveness is critical to a clinical study as many different functional areas need to integrate to achieve quality deliverables on time and within scope. Compared to the military, the company has a relatively flat hierarchy, allowing accessible support and escalation processes when needed.

Summary
Clinical Trial Managers and Clinical Project Managers are an integral part
of the clinical market. Each role is essential in ensuring that clinical
trials are well run and completed to a high standard within budget and
ambitious timelines.
Global events such as Covid-19 have propelled us into a new space where
solutions to medical challenges
need to be tested to higher standards and faster than ever before. Although these roles have always been important, those with the relevant
qualifications and experience have never been so sought after in the job
market.
In this article, we explore the differences between the role of a Clinical
Trial Manager and a Clinical Project Manager. We also offer advice on which
role you may be best suited to.
What is a Clinical Trial Manager?
A career as a Clinical Trial Manager can be both challenging and rewarding.
Those that pursue this career path will find themselves overseeing clinical
trials to
develop important new drugs. With a wide-ranging scope, Clinical Trial Managers are responsible for
the planning, implementation and tracking of clinical trial progress. They
will also find themselves undertaking key administrative roles and helping
to oversee the trial as a whole.
Clinical Trial Managers not only support the management of the trial, but
they will also work to manage key project members. This may include
Clinical Trial Assistants (CTAs) and Clinical Research Associates (CRAs).
So, people and communication skills are also essential to be successful in
this career.
Becoming a Clinical Trial Manager will require a minimum of a bachelor’s
degree in a science or medical area, although a master’s degree will
typically help you progress faster in this niche. This role is best suited
to those who have already gained a minimum of five years in clinical
research such as in a Clinical Trial Assistant role. Progression may see
you move on to become a
Senior Clinical Trials Manager, where you will take on more responsibility and be able to support the
progression of more complex trials.
What is a Clinical Project Manager?
A Clinical Trials Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction,
implementation, coordination, control and execution of global-scale
clinical projects. This role takes a wide arching view of the progress of
clinical progression. A major part of this role will include support at the
project planning phase, along with ensuring that key milestones throughout
the plan are completed on time, to a high quality and within required
standards.
Other
key responsibilities of a Clinical Trial Project Manager include budget management, risk identification and mitigation, management
of resources, and communication of project progress with stakeholders and
with project teams. As a Clinical Project Manager, you may also be required
to undertake national and international travel.
To secure a role as a Clinical Project Manager you will require a minimum
of a Bachelor’s degree in medicine, science or otherwise relevant
discipline, although a master’s level degree will often make this easier.
Five or more years of experience in a relevant field is typically required,
preferably in a specialism such as with medical devices or in clinical
trials.
Clinical Trial Manager vs Clinical Project Manager
There is no denying that the role of a Clinical Trial Manager is similar in
many ways to that of a Clinical Project Manager, yet it is important to be
aware of the difference. Doing so will help you choose which of these two
exciting roles may be best for you.
The primary difference is the range of scope that each professional focuses
on. Where a Clinical Trial Manager will typically focus specifically on
managing the various elements of a clinical trial, a Clinical Project
Manager will take a wider arching scope of responsibility, overseeing
entire drug or medical device trials across all functions.
Clinical Project Manager’s primary concern is with the planning and running
of entire projects. Although in some cases a project manager may manage
other team members, such as junior project managers, this is typically not
an essential element of the role. On the other hand, a Clinical Trial
Manager will often develop the talent in their team, ensuring that each is
completing their work on time and to a high standard.
Which role is right for you?
Which role is right for you will depend on several factors such as your
experience, qualifications, skills and preferred way of working. Those who
enjoy organising and managing projects from a top-down approach would
likely be better suited to a role as a Clinical Project Manager. For those
who prefer to focus and get ‘hands-on’ with clinical trials and managing
other team members, a role as a Clinical Trials Manager may be a better
option for you.
Whichever role you feel is right for you, we have some great opportunities
available at ICON. You can find our range of

Summary
As far as career paths go, few options are as rewarding and respected as clinical research – with oncology arguably topping the list for areas in which you can have a potentially huge, positive impact on a vast number of people’s lives. This area of research is considered one of the biggest challenges in modern medicine and although it has come on considerably in recent years, there are still huge opportunities for improvement.
There are countless options for ambitious professionals that want to get into a career in oncology. In this article, we explore five of the most stimulating oncology jobs in clinical research and how pursuing a career in these roles can help make a positive difference.
Clinical trial associate
A role as a clinical trial associate is a great option for those looking to take on big challenges in the clinical research space. Professionals in these roles are responsible for the administration surrounding clinical trials. This will see you working to help develop current and create new drugs and treatments for cancer patients. As a clinical trial associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and correct running of clinical trials.
Clinical trial associates are needed for all types of clinical trials. However, those that chose to specialise in a specific therapy area, such as oncology, at an early stage in their career can rapidly develop an understanding of their area and fast-track their progression.
Clinical project manager
Clinical project managers take on a major planning and leadership role in the clinical research process. As a professional in this role, you will be responsible for supporting the planning phase of clinical trials as well as coordinating and leading them once they are underway.
For example, in the oncology space, a clinical project manager may find themselves managing trials for medicines or medical devices dedicated to supporting the recovery and well-being of cancer patients. Progression from this role may see you taking on a position as a senior project manager. This will offer you an opportunity to take on more responsibility and contribute to more complex trials.
Study contracts manager
Study contracts managers take on an essential role in the clinical research space, ensuring that costing and contracts are properly reviewed and dealt with. Professionals in this space are
responsible for negotiating, developing and managing contracts at all levels. They are also often a critical part of the budgeting process.
Over time clinical trials will inevitably continue to grow in their ambition, whilst budgets shrink or remain the same. This is why a career as a study contracts manager can be so interesting. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that trials achieve their objectives whilst keeping efficiency high and costs to a minimum.
Biostatistician
If you have a love for data and find joy in analysing data sets, and looking for patterns and anomalies, then a role as a biostatistician may be perfect for you. Working on the development of potentially life-changing cancer drugs and treatments, biostatisticians provide statistical support throughout the entire process. This gives those in the role the chance to work on every stage of clinical trials, ranging from conception and design to analysis and reporting.
Medical directorBecoming a medical director is the career goal of many professionals within the oncology space.
Those who reach this level take on a leadership role in oncology medical trials. They are typically responsible for the overarching management of trials, ensuring that objectives are clear and that all the parts of the trial team are achieving their responsibilities. Being a medical director can be fast-paced and high pressured, making it perfect for ambitious individuals who are up for a challenge.

It’s a new day in Ector County ISD. For the first time in school district history, ECISD earned a B rating from the Texas Education Agency, a result of the significant academic growth shown by ECISD students. Three years ago, the district’s overall growth score was 59, an F; now in 2022, that overall district growth score is an 85, a B. The tremendous growth is also reflected in the increased ratings for individual schools:
The number of schools earning an A more than doubled from 3 to 7
The number of B-rated schools doubled from 6 to 12
In 2019, 20 schools were rated either D or F, today 19 schools are either an A or a B
5 schools grew from an F to a B
“I am extremely proud of our entire team,” said ECISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Muri. “The results we share today are examples of our strategic focus and commitment to continuous improvement over the past three years. ”
The growth is not isolated to a particular area, but is evident across the district, where 18 schools showed double-digit increases; 3 of the 5 high schools are rated A; and 5 of 6 middle schools are rated B or C. Five schools grew from an F-rating to a B, they are Burnet Elementary, Ector College Prep Middle School, Noel Elementary, Pease Elementary, and Ireland Elementary which improved by a staggering 38 points, the largest increase in the district.
“This kind of improvement only happens with great intentionality,” said Dr. Muri. “It is the result of a clear strategic focus coupled with effective execution. Even more impressive is this improvement happened during the pandemic and all of the challenges that came with it.
“For three years, ECISD has been on a transformational journey to foster growth in multiple areas,” added Dr. Muri. “We have seen it in Kindergarten Readiness with a 13-point increase, in SAT scores with a 40 point increase and performance above the state, in STAAR scores with improvements in almost every area, in our College, Career and Military Readiness with our highest score ever, and our Graduation Rate that is the best in over 20 years.
“These accountability ratings tell us we have grown, as a school system, to a new level of performance. We are now focused on the next step, our journey to excellence! This continuous improvement journey requires us to be bigger, bolder and better than we have ever been before. Our students deserve our excellence.”

To the learning disabled community, and our allies,
Our students are in a mental health crisis, one that disproportionately impacts students with learning disabilities. A 2019 CDC report indicated 33% of high school students experienced persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness. This number jumped to 44% during the pandemic. For those of us in the learning disability community, mental health issues permeate our everyday lives. The limited research we have supports a strong correlation between learning disabilities and mental health disorders. For example, one study found that individuals with learning disabilities report mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation at twice the rate of their non-disabled peers, even controlling for possible confounding factors. Another meta-analytic study shows varying rates of comorbidity, from 8% to 46.3%, for ADHD and anxiety among students with LD.
Yet, the causal relationship between mental health and learning disabilities is still poorly understood. The topic of mental health rates in the LD community came up time and time again in conversations among our Young Adult Leadership Council members, where for many of us mental health struggles are woven throughout our LD stories. We write this letter first as a note of acknowledgement to the LD community, second to bring awareness of this issue to a broader global community, and third to call in parents, teachers, policy makers, and researchers to help us address this issue.
Generally, poor mental health is associated with challenges with decision making, difficulty in school, difficulty forming positive relationships, and other risky or potentially harmful behaviors. Dual-disability diagnoses present even greater challenges, as many experience persistent stress, anxiety,, trauma, bullying, internalizing problems, and feelings of social isolation as they navigate a world with learning disabilities and mental health disorders. These negative experiences are especially concerning when you consider that almost one-third of incarcerated individuals report having a learning disability, and mental health issues affect approximately half of the incarcerated populations.
“Not being diagnosed until recently as an adult, I never understood why I struggled like I did. However, after my diagnosis, I realized that my anxiety and depressive episodes contributed to my perfectionism and impulsive choices. Undiagnosed individuals with ADHD face the harsh reality of being prone to depression and anxiety. It could lead someone to a pathway of substance abuse and impulsive decision making that can have serious consequences. When you live in a world where people don’t understand individuals with attention issues, it can make you feel like something is inherently wrong with you, which can also contribute to depression. ” —Misha Nicholas
We know that students with LD report more issues with mental health. However, that is the extent of the research. We do not know the cause of these lower mental health rates in students with learning disabilities. Anecdotal reports by students with LD suggest that many experience educational trauma. We need research in order to know the extent and impact of this educational trauma. Is educational trauma a risk factor for poor mental health?
As members and activists on the National Center for Learning Disabilities’ Young Adult Leadership Council (YALC), we feel it is imperative to kick-start a solution-driven mental health initiative focused on the intersectionality of learning disabilities and mental health disorders. Many of us navigate life as learning disabled people struggling with mental health. Research suggests that promoting a sense of belonging and peer social support within schools can protect learning disabled individuals from many documented negative outcomes. Yet, many of us experienced various forms of educational trauma throughout education in the form of persistent academic failure, feelings of inadequacy, low self-esteem, bullying, social isolation, and ridicule. Educational trauma refers to the perpetual pattern of harmful cycles within educational systems that detrimentally affect academic and emotional outcomes.
“The humiliation, bullying, and systematic exclusion was shattering beyond words. Eventually the educational trauma I experienced became a bigger barrier to learning than my actual learning disability.” —Erin
Many young adults with learning disabilities describe their K–12 educational experiences as traumatic. They describe feelings of being misunderstood. Often, they report that those around them failed to understand their learning and mental health struggles, as they lacked the words to describe the shame they felt to the adults and peers in their lives. These struggles span well beyond weaknesses in reading, writing, and math. Mental health and learning disabilities are interwoven, and these challenges follow learning disabled individuals as they transition out of high school and into postsecondary education and the workplace.
“It was not until undergrad that I learned that it isn’t normal to feel like you can’t breathe every time before attempting homework.” —Stevie Mays
Many learning disabled people report feeling unsafe and like they do not belong in the classroom. In talking with almost any learning disabled person, they will tell you that their learning disability has impacted them far beyond just their struggle with learning skills like math and reading. They will tell you that existing as a learning disabled person impacts one’s whole experience with the world, how the world interacts with them, and how they interact with the world. Yes, it’s important for us to help LD students in academic areas like reading and writing. But if we fail to look beyond academics, at the whole person, we miss an entire aspect of the learning disabled experience. We miss what it actually means to exist as a learning disabled person.
“At age 16, as everyone around me wrote in fine penmanship, I felt like a child still writing with red crayon. It didn’t matter what or how well I wrote – I wasn’t allowed to belong.” —Brody
What are you doing personally to better understand and address the experiences of the learning disabled community and why our peers are pushed out of schools, into the prison system, into low-wage careers, and, in the best case, into college settings that don’t support us?
We need to talk about mental illness for what it is: a disability. A disability that deserves the same support and focus as dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning disabilities.
Our dyslexia, anxiety, ADHD, depression, dysgraphia, PTSD, and more are disabilities that need support, understanding, and recognition. Many of us on the YALC say that finding the LD community was the key to us feeling like we finally understood ourselves and were able to come out of our shame. We found strength in our shared experiences and were able to name many of our experiences for what they were: educational trauma. In doing so we found our voice, not only to share our stories but to advocate for our community as a whole.
To the LD person reading this, we see and empathize with your struggles. We encourage you to seek out your LD community and embrace your disability identity. The disability label (including mental health and learning disabilities) give you access to support and treatment. It also comes with a community that wants to welcome you in.
Finally, this letter is a call to action — a call to our researchers, policy makers, educators, and parents and caregivers to better understand, address, and find solutions for the mental health needs of individuals with learning disabilities.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP!
For researchers:
Include mental health as measures in your data collection, and mental health disabilities as covariates.
Research educational trauma, including its prevalence and impact on students with learning disabilities.
Conduct holistic research on the experiences of LD students beyond our academic success, and understand the impact on our non-academic lives.
Research the intersection of mental health and learning disabilities, and specifically the experiences of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and historically marginalized groups.
Include LD people in your research process beyond them being research subjects. Ensure that learning disabled people are a part of the research design process. Get feedback from the LD community and ensure that the research questions you ask are aligned with the values of the community you’re studying. Hire LD people in your labs and centers so a good percentage of the next generation of people studying LD are LD themselves.
For policy makers:
Increase funding for early identification, treatment, and psychological support within schools. We need well-funded school-based mental health programs, school psychologists, counselors, and social workers.
Keep your promise and fully fund IDEA, after over 40 years of never doing so.
Ban the practices of seclusion and restraint that have harmed and oppressed disabled students for decades.
For educators:
Many of your students are walking into your classroom with years of educational trauma. You can end it. Focus on students’ strengths while also acknowledging and building solutions to address our weaknesses, and listen to students when they are brave in sharing their experiences.
Be aware of the interconnectedness of mental health and learning disabilities, and work with us to create strategies that address what we need and prevent negative outcomes.
Avoid terms such as “lazy” when you talk about your disabled students. We aren’t lazy. We’re trying our best.
For parents and caregivers:
Talk about mental health with us, and help us own our identities as members of the disability community.
Look for early warning signs of mental health issues and teach us to be self-advocates, so that when we’re on our own, we’ve got the skills to stand up for ourselves and the things we need to be successful learners.
For the learning disabled community:
Embrace your learning disability identity. Don’t be afraid to use the language of disability. Taboo and stigma lead people to use euphemisms. But ultimately, our legal rights and our connection to community depend on identifying as disabled. We can end the stigma and taboo of being disabled by embracing this community.
Be willing to talk about how mental health impacts you in school. We are functioning in school systems that are not designed for us and that “others” us constantly. Allowing yourself to get support is the greatest gift you can give to yourself. We know it’s hard to stick out as the one using accommodations, but you’ll be glad you did.
Understand that you’ll need to self-advocate for both your LD and your mental health. This may look like telling your parents and educators what you need in a classroom setting to succeed. This means attending your IEP meeting and making sure your accommodations reflect your needs.
This call to action only scratches the surface of a larger conversation. Our voice matters. Join us in amplifying this initiative by signing below.
Sincerely,
The Young Adult Leadership Council
The best schools in Moscow 2021-2022 – official ratings, full list of schools And if you change, how to choose a new school? And if the situation is more or less clear with the quality of education at the school where the child is currently studying, then there are serious doubts about the choice of a new school if the old one does not suit you. To see this, just look at specialized forums and complete lists from the ratings of Moscow schools.
You can, of course, rely on the subjective opinion of other parents, but you still want an objective assessment.
And there is a tool for such an assessment. These are the official ratings of Moscow schools.
Today there are two ratings of schools by which you can try to get an idea of the quality of education in selected schools: rating of the Moscow Department of Education on the contribution of schools to the quality education of schoolchildren and rating of the 200 best schools in Russia by the rating agency “Expert” . Let’s take a look at these rankings. And let’s not forget about our main goal: we want our children to go to a good university, if possible, to places with state funding.
Rating of the Department of Education of Moscow
Points for rating assignment are calculated on the basis of 8 blocks of indicators.
Block 1. The quality of mass education.
Calculated on the basis of the results of the Unified State Examination, GIA and compulsory city subject and meta-subject diagnostics in grades 4 and 7. To do this, it takes into account the overcoming of the minimum established level of points for these works, and for the Unified State Examination, the level that gives the maximum points is 220, which is clearly not enough for admission to the most prestigious universities in Moscow.
Block 2. Results of participation in the municipal stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren. The criterion is applicable for assessing the level of mass education, but not for assessing the presence of outstanding results.
Block 3. Takes into account the transition of preschoolers to the 1st grade of the same educational institution. It is obvious that this criterion is applicable only for educational centers, nevertheless, it falls into the overall rating and increases the score for such Centers in comparison with gymnasiums and lyceums that do not have preschool groups. At the same time, it is not at all clear how this indicator is related specifically to the quality of education, and not to the convenience of the location of the school.
Block 4. Crime prevention. The criterion is important, but not for assessing the quality of education for the purposes we are interested in.
Block 5. Teaching children with disabilities. The criterion is important from a social point of view, but does not in any way characterize the ability of the school to prepare the student for entering the university.
Block 6. Use of the socio-cultural resources of the city in the educational process.
Block 7. Development of professional skills and abilities.
do not take into account the results of admission of graduates to higher educational institutions.
Thus, we see that the rating of the Moscow Department of Education cannot help us in determining the best schools for admission to prestigious universities.

In addition to this rating, Expert RA in 2019 formed the TOP-100 schools rating by competitiveness of graduates, which was compiled on the basis of the points of the main rating divided by the average annual number of graduates. And it is this rating that answers the question that interests us – which schools provide the best opportunities for admission to prestigious Russian universities.
A selection of Moscow schools from this ranking is shown in the table below. It indicates the place of the school in the All-Russian ranking, the place among the schools of Moscow and the place in the ranking of the Department of Education.

As we can see, the rating of RA “Expert” gave results that generally correspond to the reputation of the schools included in it. At the same time, the results of the ranking of Moscow preschool education give very different results, which is quite natural – the ranking methodology is designed to assess the quality of mass education and the educational process, and not to identify the best schools in terms of education. Therefore, 12 of the TOP-20 schools of the DO ranking did not get into the TOP-50 of the Expert RA rating at all.
Rating of schools by RA “Expert”
Bottom line: I recommend using the rating of competitiveness of graduates of RA “Expert” to assess the level of education at the school where you would like to transfer your child. And to assess the atmosphere at school, read the reviews of students and their parents and objectively assess the strength of your child. After all, studying in the best schools is a big and serious work.

The RAEX rating agency named the best schools in Bashkiria by the number of graduates who entered the leading Russian universities. Today, September 3, we publish this list.
The best schools in Bashkiria are:
Lyceum No. 153. They are accepted there only from the 10th grade. Address: Ufa, st. Karl Marx, 12, room 8.
Lyceum No. 83. Address: Ufa, st. Matveya Pinsky, 12.
Lyceum No. 93. There, starting from the 5th grade, schoolchildren have to transfer to their own lyceum, since teachers divide classes into profiles already in high school. Address: Ufa st. Russian, 80.
Gymnasium No. 39. Morgenstern* studied at this school. Address: Ufa, st. Dostoevsky, 67.
Lyceum No. 1. Address: Neftekamsk st. Lenina, 56.
Gymnasium No. 1. Address: Sterlitamak, st. Sacco and Vanzetti, 68.
Gymnasium No. 3. Ex-Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Klara Tukhvatullina and five-time Paralympic swimming champion Andrey Strokin graduated from here. Address: Ufa, st. Pushkin, 108.
Republican engineering boarding school. Address: Ufa, st. Koltsevaya, 74.
Bashkir Republican Boarding School No. 1 named after Rami Garipov. Honored Artist of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic Ilshat Yumagulov graduated from the walls of this school. Address: Ufa, st. Russian, 88.
Lyceum No. 5. Address: Ufa, st. Rabkorov, 13.
Lyceum No. 1. Address: Salavat, st. Lenin, 14.
Gymnasium No. 2. Address: Sterlitamak, st. Friendship, 37.
Gymnasium No. 91. Address: Ufa, st. Krasina, 33.
Gymnasium No. 16. The school specializes in foreign languages. Address: Ufa, st. Mendeleev 146/1.
Gymnasium No. 2. Address: Oktyabrsky, st. Sverdlova, 76.
Lyceum No. 1. Already in high school in this lyceum, individual subjects are studied in depth. Address: Sterlitamak, 16a Oktyabrya Ave.
Lyceum No. 42. Address: Ufa, st. Mendeleev, 215/3.
However, only two institutions from Bashkiria got into the all-Russian rating of the best schools: the 153rd lyceum took the 52nd place, the 83rd lyceum – the 180th and 93 lyceum – 192nd.
According to the mayor’s office of Ufa, they do not rank the best schools in the city, but simply make a list of institutions whose graduates gain the highest scores on the Unified State Examination. The data are presented for the last five years.
This list includes 7 institutions:
Lyceum No. 153.
Lyceum No. 83.
Lyceum No. 106.
Lyceum No. 93.
Gymnasium No. 91.
Lyceum No. 5.
gymnasium No. 3.

Research shows that quality early childhood care leads to increased economic and academic success not only for the children in care, but for the whole community. While there is no single definition for quality in child care, there are some overall elements of child care that are identified as critical to the well-being of children. These include health, safety and good hygiene, good nutrition, a well-maintained environment set up for children, an adequate number of staff, and more!

Ages

Levels
Each child is evaluated when they enroll at the center to determine which level they are ready for. Our levels are based on each child’s abilities, not their age. There may be a 2 year old with a 5 year old, depending on the individual needs of each child. We have 3 levels, with the beginning level being very basic, and the top level being extremely advanced. Our goal is to have each child through the top level before entering kindergarten! Each child will progress through the levels at their own pace – the groups will not move up as a group. When a child progresses through a level, they will receive a promotion certificate.
Reporting and Conferences
Along with daily “face to face” contact with each parent, “Daily Reports” are filled out for each child, telling how they ate, how their behavior was, and anything they need to work on for class. A “Preschool Activities Board” is also filled out each day telling parents what activities each group worked on that day. Two scheduled conferences will be held per year.
Days and Times
M, T, W, Th 9:00-12:15 (must enroll for at least 3 days per week) Friday are “Fun Fridays”. All preschoolers are welcome to enroll for Fridays also.

FUN Fridays!!
Our preschool program is very highly respected in the community. We are known for sending kids to kindergarten at a much higher level than their peers. Numerous kindergarten teachers have called our center to tell us what a great job we do with our preschoolers, including one that said, “I know when I get a Little House of Hugs child that I have to plan a whole different lesson plan!”

Day Care Centers Site
More and more in today’s world both parents have employment and need suitable day care centers for their children. These early stages in a child’s life are very important to their growth and development. Choosing a good child day care center is vital, one where the adult won’t just plunk your children down in front of a soap opera all day and feed them Top Ramen. You should look for day care centers that provide learning programs and playtime for your child, along with a safe and healthy environment.
There are many different types of day care centers, ranging from basic nurseries to preschools that will provide more of a learning environment for your children. Some day care centers specialize in a specific age range, while others are more open. When you’re contemplating placing your child in a specific day care center, you should visit each one with your child. In this way, you can see how your child reacts to the other children who are there and to the caregiver. You want your child to be happy and comfortable.
While some day care centers provide a greater variety of activities than others, any good day care center is going to encourage positive interaction among all of the children. They will also have rules that promote good behavior, learning, manners, and child development. You certainly don’t want to have to worry that your child is going to develop bad habits from day care.

809 Coldwater Rd Murray, KY 42071 Phone Number: (270) 759-5425 Providing the child care and day care services:Day Care Center / Nursery, Child Care Provider
While you don’t need to go overboard in choosing suitable day care centers, you should approach the subject seriously and with thought. Your child is going to be spending a good-sized portion of his or her life in day cares and you want to make sure it is going to be a positive experience. Family is the most important thing in the world and you should make sure that your children are your first priority. When you are considering a day care center, you should look at where it is located and how much it costs. There’s not much sense in putting your son or daughter in daycare so that you can work full time and spending most of what you earn on the day care center’s tuitions and your travel expenses. If that’s the case, you might as well stay home with your child. However, if you do truly need the money, there are usually plenty of day care services available and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one close by that is reasonably priced.
Different Kinds of Child day Care Centers
While child day care centers are common, there is such a huge demand for this service that there are now quite a variety of options available other than basic day care. These include the following:
Home child care or family childcare
Child care services
Preschool
Nursery
Home child care tends to be the most popular option because it is generally more affordable and a smaller environment. While some day care centers are quite large and can provide better early childhood education, it is also more difficult for each child to receive personal attention. Day care centers that are based out of someone’s home are usually more personal and your child can receive more care and nurturing. Most parents want their children to be receiving love and affection, the care that they themselves would give them. They don’t want a day care business that is merely going to make sure that their child is still alive and adequately healthy.
Home child care providers are also more adaptable, generally speaking. This means that if your child likes a certain song sung to them before they take their nap each day, the home care provider is more likely to be willing to do that than someone in a larger day care facility. Most adult home child care providers are parents themselves, making them better able to understand and love your child.
Other Things to Think About
One of the first steps you should take after picking out a family day care center that you think will be suitable for your child is do a little investigating. This can involve talking to the parents of the other children that use the child day care center to see what they think about it. You should also always check to make sure the child care service you are considering is legally licensed to operate in your state. Licensing officials check criminal records and ensure that the child care provider has emergency response training and a safe and healthy environment for the children. As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to visit the child day care center that you are considering. You should do this at least a couple of times, and try to go at different times of the day so that you can get a better idea of what kind of schedule they have. This will help you to see how your own child would fit in. If you are having difficulties finding the appropriate child care environment for your son or daughter, there are some other options. Some people get family and friends to help out, while others hire a nanny. Adult nannies are a good option because they ensure that your child receives personal attention and quality child care. However, this also means that your child will not receive as much social interaction since he or she won’t have other children to play with like in a family day care center.
No matter what option you decide to go with, make sure that you know who you are leaving your child with. Meet them, get to know them, and let your child do the same. Do some research on the internet to make sure that no one has had negative experiences with the day care center you are considering. Check to make sure that they are legally licensed. Once you have done all of this, you can feel more confident and secure in knowing that you have chosen the right day care center for your child.
Switching Day Care Centers
Choosing Another Child Care Provider
So you want to switch day care providers for your kids but you don’t know where to start or what to choose among the plethora of options out there in this world. It is fittingly one of the most important decisions of a young parent’s journey due to the fact that a child’s first formative years up until the age of six is critical. It is important for parents to not just consider the monetary impact of these choices but also the emotional, intellectual, and social future impacts the choice of a day care provider will have on their kids in the long term future. So let’s discuss some general tips to consider for the parent and the child to consider when one is looking to switch day care providers within a short time frame.
First, you must consider the cost of attending some of the more prestigious and rigorous day care provider centers in your area. In some areas, let’s face the reality that the more money per month per child spent; the better the facilities and the educational value experience offered for your child. Things such as using smart boards and I Pad’s to enhance the learning experience is a very real possibility in these places. However, if a parent is budget conscious they can still afford this experience but it would mean cutting back on all or most non-necessity spending. This would include curbing your eating out habits as well as any leisure entertainment or travel activity and place that money instead into your child’s future day care home. If an expensive day care sees that you are making an effort to keep up with the payments; then they will be more willing to work with you and not let your child leave that place. For a child going to this environment, they need to consider whether or not they will fit into this environment, things like playtime, feeding time, and individual care of the staff- is it received well by the child? These will make the difference between choosing these ones or a cheaper alternative. Cheaper is not all bad if the quality and availability of care is there for your child in the first place.
Secondly, you need to consider your travel times and distance of day care relative to your work and other important places like the hospital, grocery store, bank, and places that you frequent on a daily basis. Is it near enough that you can get to your child should he/she become ill or need special attention so that the day care center can contact you and arrange a meeting with you the same day if needed.
Furthermore, you need to consider the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the day care center provider. Do not underestimate a clean environment for your kid to play and learn in with other kids. Your kid will enjoy making new friends in a clean and safe environment. Plus you as a parent will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your child will not be being home any unwanted germs and diseases into your house. Parents must also consider if there is a dispute over payment and care; how does the management and staff deal with such requests? If there is a lackadaisical approach to your core issues; then that is a bad prelude of things to come concerning your child’s care. Your child will probably feel like he/she is being neglected or not fed on time and will start to complain to you ever so slightly that something is not right. When they do, do not hesitate to take them out of that day care center and find another one immediately.
In a recessionary economy, it is okay and permissible for both parents and kids to demand the best care for their dollar. Make your day care dollar stretch by reading all of the material and brochures and visiting every day center on your list until you find that perfect fit for your child. It’s out there; it is just waiting on you to find it!
Child Care Options for Low Income Families
One of the most frustrating aspects of being a working citizen is not having the ability to afford childcare. The majority of day care facilities charge as much as $300 per week for each child. That amount is difficult for middle-class citizens to pay. Low-income families cannot fathom paying such an expense. Luckily, the government and the various states have developed programs that help low-income families get the childcare they deserve. The following is some information on those programs:
Extended Day Program
The extended day program can assist low-income working parents during the regular school year. Many school districts offer this program. The school keeps children before and after school hours for a small monthly fee. A parent can drop a child off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick the child up as late as 6:00 p.m. This program is excellent for low-income workers with daytime weekday jobs. The cost is approximately $150 per month for before and after school. The weekly rate is approximately $37.50, which is extremely competitive.
The attendants participate in various activities with the children before and after school. They help the children with their homework so that the parents have less stress when they come home from work. They give the children a full breakfast in the morning program and a snack in the evening program. Parents can opt to pay for the morning program only, the evening program only, or both programs. The evening program is the more expensive of the two because it lasts so many hours after the school releases the children. The evening program is $100 while the morning program is $52.
The Child Care Assistance Program
CCAP is a special program that provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families. People who are collecting TANF are automatically eligible to receive this assistance. Teenage parents who are working on obtaining their educations are also eligible for CCAP. Those who are not collecting TANF can still qualify if they are pursuing education that will improve their work skills and job opportunities. Parents can apply for CCAP assistance with the Department of Children & Family Services. The financial guidelines for qualification are along the lines of a $3,000 per month income threshold for a four-person family. The applicant must have proof of income, social security cards, birth certificates, and immunization records for all children. Application processing can take up to 30 days.
Head Start
Head start is a program for children between the ages of three and five. The program provides childcare services and medical services to the children who qualify. It is funded by the Administration of Children’s Services. The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a. m. to 5 p.m. Teachers work with the children to fine-tune their social and developmental skills. Those who are interested in the program may apply online. Applicants go on a waitlist until there is an available slot in the program. It is best for an interested person to complete an application as quickly as possible since the wait may be extended.
Child Care Voucher Program
The Child Care Voucher Program is in effect in many states throughout the United States. It provides a subsidy of up to 95 percent of childcare cost to low-income families. Subsidy recipients will choose an eligible provider from the list of licensed providers. They may also select a relative or an in-home provider. The Child Care Voucher Program covers the childcare from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is known as the traditional childcare period. However, the program also covers non-traditional times for parents who work odd shifts. It covers nights, weekends, and evenings.
A wide variety of options is available for low-income childcare. Many stay-at-home moms also run small day care businesses in which they discount their services. There is a way to make working and taking care of your children affordable.

90,000 US Presidents and Tecumseh’s Curse | How John F ruled the country | Kennedy, JFK?: The first lady and the tragic ending | School of Life.ru
John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Photo: englishearly.ru
John F. Kennedy was the last president to die who was under the “curse of Tecumseh”. Chronicles of the terrible assassination of the president in Dallas went around the world, multi-volume essays are written about the events of that day and films are made. It would seem that the death of the president put an end to the Indian curse. After all, his two later successors, elected in the “zero” years – Ronald Reagan (1980) and George W. Bush (2000) – survived assassination attempts but spent the entire term in office. And today the world is on the alert again – the new President Joe Biden was elected in the “zero” 2020.
First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy
John F. Kennedy owes much of his success both in domestic politics and on a global scale to his wife, Jacqueline Bouvier. Kennedy met his future wife while serving in the US Congress.
— When they first met, Jackie blew her brother away. We immediately noticed his special attitude towards her. Jacqueline often came to visit us on Cape Cod and participated in family life. He and John read together, drew, walked and talked all the time,” said John’s brother Teddy (most likely he was not entirely sincere).
John just became interested in Jackie, as everyone called the girl, but on her part it was a real love, which she later told her friends about. Jackie immediately realized that in order to get the attention of a congressman, she needed to support his career ambitions. She took part in his campaign for the Senate and absolutely charmed Joseph Kennedy, John’s father.
However, Joseph liked Jackie even before they met personally – he knew her biography from the journalist Arthur Kroc, and he had long seen the girl as an excellent match for his son. Stepfather’s money helped Jacqueline get an excellent education at the best universities and become a wonderful match for the most demanding groom: a rich dowry, a master’s degree in arts and literature, fluency in several languages. In addition, she was a real beauty and charming girl.

The couple began dating, but no marriage proposal was received. Jackie helped her lover as much as she could: she translated books on Southeast Asian politics from French into English for Kennedy and, as she joked, “did it to force him to marry.”
They had a lot in common. John, who could not stand boredom, understood that Jackie, with her erudition, was one of the few women with whom he would always be interested. He also felt pressure from his father: he repeated that if his son did not marry, he would be considered either a homosexual or a debauchee, which in any case would harm his political career. As a result, June 25, 19At 53, the couple announced their engagement.
Senior Kennedy insisted on a grand celebration, saying that this celebration should be remembered by the country as the day of acquaintance with the future First Lady of the United States. There were about 1500 guests at the reception. The bride was led to the altar by her stepfather, because her father could not attend his daughter’s wedding: the day before, Jacqueline’s mother forbade him to come, because the former spouses had a very difficult relationship.
On her honeymoon trip to Acapulco, after a few days, Jackie felt that her main rivals for her husband’s love were not even women, but cheerful friends. In their first days of marriage, the newlyweds clearly preferred their noisy and free company to solitude with his wife.

The relationship of the young quickly deteriorated. In the first weeks after returning, spent in the Kennedy house, Jackie managed to charm the entire male part of the clan, but she clearly had no luck with women. Both Rosa and the Kennedy sisters considered Jackie to be withdrawn. They were annoyed that she preferred to read in her room, ignoring the sports games that all the Kennedys were partial to.
Jackie, on the other hand, was jealous of her husband for women from his past, with whom he continued to communicate, and became even more withdrawn into herself, which drove John crazy. A few months later, the tension in the family became so unbearable that the couple parted for a while. John began to think about a break already when Mrs. Kennedy was pregnant, and then gave birth to a dead daughter. At this time, the failed father serenely plowed the Mediterranean Sea, and Jacqueline seemed to have lost a piece of her soul and faith in people.
After the loss, Jacqueline herself wanted to file for divorce, but her father-in-law kept her from this step – she and her son sounded the alarm and surrounded the woman with care and affection, so that an idyll reigned in the Kennedy family for a while. At the same time, her husband’s presidential campaign began, and, pregnant with her second child, Mrs. Kennedy was involved in it. She actively gave interviews and even led a column on her own behalf called Campaign Wife. A year later, the couple had a daughter, Caroline, and Jackie’s pain from losing their first child receded a little.
In total, the couple had four children. Snapshot 1962. Photo:

Jackie gave her husband ideas on how to attract the attention of the public. From that moment, the tradition began when either the President of the United States himself or a poet of his choice read poetry during the inaugural speech. In 1961, it was the favorite poet of the newly elected president, Robert Frost, who, at the age of 87, barely read his famous “Winter Evening by the Woods.”
With John’s victory in the presidential election, his wife’s life seemed like a fairy tale from the outside: the White House refurbished by her, where the new First Lady led excursions, endless receptions, trips, charity. Jackie Kennedy has become the national pride of the nation, charming everyone from Nikita Khrushchev to Pakistani President Mohammed Ayub Khan.
As for the president’s policy at that time, in the second year of John F. Kennedy’s term, the US economy began to decline. The president, who forced steel giants to lower steel prices, has had a bad relationship with big business, and his tax cut initiatives have not found support from legislators.
Caribbean Crisis
Economic recession was complicated by external factors — in 1962, the Cuban Missile Crisis broke out. Prior to this, Kennedy had already twice had talks with Nikita Khrushchev about positions on West Berlin and on Cuba. The second took place at 1961 in Vienna, and to Khrushchev’s credit, it must be said that at the Vienna talks he behaved confidently, while the usually eloquent and restrained Kennedy flared up, which failed the dialogue.
Shortly after Khrushchev returned home, the Soviet Union announced its intention to sign a treaty with East Berlin that would annul third party rights to occupy any sector of the city. An angry Kennedy believed that his only way out was to prepare the country for a nuclear war, the probability of which, in his personal opinion, was at that moment one in five.
Disagreements between the leaders of the two most powerful nuclear powers in the world had extremely negative consequences, when the whole world was on the verge of death for three days. It was the prelude to the Cuban Missile Crisis, which in the United States is known as the Cuban Missile Crisis.

In October 1962, the Soviet Union secretly transferred army units and nuclear weapons to Cuba, thus responding to the deployment of US medium-range military missiles in Turkey.
– The US military began to put tremendous pressure on Kennedy to allow them to attack Cuba … But, fortunately, Kennedy had a strong political sense. In a situation where everything literally hung in the balance, he did not approve of the invasion and thereby saved the world,” said Vladimir Batyuk, head of the Center for Military-Political Studies at the Institute for the US and Canadian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On the night of October 27-28, on the President’s personal assignment, his brother Robert Kennedy met with Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin. According to the memoirs of the ambassador,
Kennedy’s office was a mess, a crumpled blanket lay on the couch: the owner of the office immediately fell asleep in fits and starts.
Kennedy expressed his fears that
the situation is about to get out of control and threaten to create a chain reaction.
After the critical aggravation of Soviet-American relations in 1961-1962, the parties made concessions to each other and in August 1963 concluded the “Treaty Banning Nuclear Weapons Tests in the Atmosphere, Outer Space and Under Water.” The world breathed out.

In the years leading up to the Caribbean crisis, Kennedy had several tense meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Ben-Gurion. Ben-Gurion stated realistically that a world war was unlikely in the near future. However, Kennedy noted that such a danger still exists, recalling the desire of the Soviets to force American forces to leave Berlin.
– Why do you need guarantees [of security] given by us if we ourselves cannot even stay in Berlin? – either with sarcasm, or with a sense of doom, the President of the United States asked.
But in meetings with other heads of state, Kennedy always showed himself as a charming and competent leader.
Thus, at a meeting in Paris with French President Charles de Gaulle, he was impressed by the young president and the charming First Lady, who was also French. Kennedy referred to this in a speech in Paris, saying that he would be remembered as “the man who accompanied Jackie Kennedy to Paris”. Although left alone with his wife, he expressed his irritation to her, saying that she always pulls the blanket over herself.
In June 1961, the Kennedys were warmly received at the court of Elizabeth II, the Queen even envied the ease of communication and the image of the First Lady. In 1962, the Kennedys met with the Shah of Iran, Reza Pahlavi, and his wife, Washington.

Kennedy led the creation of the Peace Corps, the Alliance for Progress with Latin America, and the continuation of the Apollo space program to land a man on the moon. But in domestic politics, called “New Frontiers”, he did not succeed. Perhaps he just didn’t make it.
The assassination of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, took place on Friday, November 22, 1963, in the state of Texas, when the presidential cortege, which also included First Lady and Vice President Lyndon Johnson and his wife, was driving down Elm Street in Dallas.
Driving in a limousine through downtown Dallas, Kennedy was shot once in the back – and the bullet went through the throat, and once in the head. These shots went around the world and were included in many chronicles and feature films. The wounded president was taken to Parkland Hospital, and 30 minutes later he was pronounced dead. He was only 46 years old and had been in power for less than three years.

Johnson was sworn in and, as president, quickly issued an executive order establishing the Warren Commission to investigate the assassination. The commission concluded that Oswald acted alone in the assassination of Kennedy and was not a participant in any conspiracy, although it later became known that there were two killers. The Commission really wanted to quickly put an end to this matter. But the inconsistencies that have arisen and various versions still do not allow us to answer this question unambiguously.

In 1979, the US House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that, in its opinion,
Kennedy was probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy. The committee was unable to identify other fighters or the extent of the plot.
The results of the 10-month investigation by the Warren Commission are disputed by many. The assassination proved to be a turning point in US history. A 2004 Fox News poll found that 66% of Americans believed there was a conspiracy to assassinate President Kennedy, and 74% believed there was a commission cover-up.
Historian and writer James Douglas published the book Why John F. Kennedy was Killed. The Truth That Matters to Know” (JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters), which Robert Kennedy Jr., the president’s nephew, said:
This is an objective account of how President Kennedy embarked on the path of peace. I urge everyone to read the book and understand for themselves why John F. Kennedy gave his life and why, even after half a century, it is so important to know.

After Kennedy’s death, Congress passed many of the laws he proposed, including the Civil Rights Act and the Revenue Act. Despite his short-lived presidency, Kennedy ranks at the top of the polls of U.S. presidents conducted by historians and the general public.
Did the world-shaking assassination of Kennedy end Tecumseh’s curse?
In 1980, Ronald Reagan became the oldest elected president of the United States at that time. On March 30, 1981, John Hinckley attempted to assassinate Reagan in Washington, DC. Reagan was shot, but was able to survive thanks to quick medical attention. This was the first president to break Tecumseh’s curse.
George W. Bush, elected in 2000, under whose administration the “year zero” curse could also have come true, survived two assassination attempts and several alleged conspiracies during his two presidential terms, but survived.
The new president elected in 2020 is Joe Biden, who was 78 years old at the time of his election.

Welcome to Our School
Welcome to Childtime in Southfield, MI! My name is Melissa and I am the school director. I have a master’s of science degree in early childhood studies and more than 10 years of experience in early childhood. Whether it’s providing care for Infants or participating in activities in our Preschool programs, I take pride in being a part of the life and development of every child we care for. My child in genuinely happy to go to Childtime everyday!

My two children attend Childtime and I absolutely love everyone there, they are like family. We are so lucky to walk into a building, be greeted by such amazing staff, and to have my children run up to their teachers (past and present) and give them huge hugs. My family is so fortunate to be attending Childtime and I would recommended it everyone.
Verified Shopper
Great, one of the best daycares in Metro Detroit area.

Verified Shopper
I am happy I chose this location because they have a great group of people who are kind, trustworthy, and sincere. I couldn’t be happier with how prepared my son was for kindergarten this year!
Verified Shopper
This school has a wonderful staff. Ms, Joyce, Ms. Rachel, Ms. Melissa, Ms. Beverly, and Ms. Frederika are the ones who I consider to be the leads of the school. School director, Ms. Melissa, sets clear expectations and her team executes them completely. They are guiding the new team members in an exemplary manner and overall the entire staff does a wonderful job.
Verified Shopper
