The ECDP encourages exploration in our classrooms that allow our caregivers to focus on daily routines. Building positive relationships promote trust and security for the infants.

Infant Care
18 months – 3 years

While helping children establish a secure attachment, the ECDP provides learning materials for toddlers to explore objects and use them purposefully. Toddlers are also introduced into gym class with an instructor.

When it comes to caring for your little one, the JCC’s Jerome and Phyllis Charney Early Childhood Development Program is the area’s leading comprehensive childcare facility and preschool, serving infants six weeks old through pre-K children. We provide a caring and nurturing environment to help children explore their world with curiosity and passion.

Register for the 2023- 2024 school year! 

Early Bird Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is now live! However, space is very limited. To register your child for the upcoming school year, your completed enrollment paperwork along with the $36 registration fee must be submitted. Early Bird enrollment will open up at 7 am on February 1st.

Our program is a licensed child care facility offering infant, toddler and preschool care for children ages six weeks through five years. We offer a wide array of activities designed to invigorate kids’ minds, encourage their love of learning and satisfy their wondrous curiosity.

We are committed to developing the social, emotional, physical and intellectual well being of each child, allowing them to grow and flourish as productive members of the community. Our emphasis is on helping children become independent, self-confident, inquisitive and enthusiastic learners.  

Much of what children learn and do in an early childhood program doesn’t come home in a backpack. Young children learn best through hands-on and direct interactive experiences. This type of learning happens through play and exploration. The Jerome and Phyllis Charney Early Childhood Development Program uses the Creative Curriculum paired with the NYS Early Learning Guidelines, using a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning.

The Reggio Emilia Approach is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education which values the child as strong, capable, resilient and rich with wonder and knowledge.  Every child brings with them deep curiosity and potential, and this innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place in it.

Infant Care

• 6 weeks to 18 months old (1:4 ratio; maximum 8 per classroom)

We offer the highest quality of care to our youngest members. To maintain a developmentally appropriate environment for our infants, they are separated into two age groups: Infant I and Infant II. Infants who are 6 weeks to 12 months old at time of enrollment are placed in the Infant I classroom. Infants who are 12 months to 24 months at the time of enrollment are placed in the Infant II classroom.

The ECDP provides a responsive environment that supports and encourages exploration through a variety of classroom routines and experiences. Infant caregivers focus on daily routines such as hellos and goodbyes, diapering and toileting, feeding, dressing and soothing to sleep as part of the curriculum. These one-on-one routines help to build positive relationships between infant and caregiver, promoting trust and allowing infants to feel secure in their environment.

Once infants have developed a trusting relationship with their caregivers they will start to gain new skills and participate more actively in daily routines. The teachers are then able to provide intentional indoor and outdoor experiences that allow children to learn while imitating and pretending, connecting with music and movement, exploring with sand and water and creating with art.

Toddler Level

• 18 months to 3 years old (1:5 ratio; maximum 12 per classroom)

Toddler children are at an age when they establish secure attachments with their caregivers more quickly and are now eager to experience their world. They react to what they experience through their senses and physical activity. ECDP teachers provide intentional experiences for toddlers through a variety of indoor and outdoor experiences.

Learning materials that match the children’s growing abilities and interests are provided and the children start to explore objects and begin to use them purposefully. While playing with toys, imitating and pretending, exploring sand and water, creating with art and going outdoors, toddlers learn to communicate and socialize with peers and adults, to think mathematically and to discover like scientists.  Our toddlers are also introduced to gym class with our gym instructor, who tailors the class to their specific gross motor goals.

Toddlers are placed into classrooms according to their chronological age. Children do not need to be toilet trained, and when appropriate toilet training will be incorporated into one of the goals for your child.

3 Year Old Level

• 3 to 4 years old (1:7 ratio; maximum 18 per classroom)

With kindergarten just two years away, this is an important time for every child to learn that the world is bigger than imagined. Children learn new skills and concepts through our hands-on approach to learning. Daily activities are carefully planned to promote children’s social, emotional and cognitive development. Our teachers are trained to recognize differences in rates of development within this age group, and individualize instruction to meet every child’s needs. Materials and activities are appropriately tailored in an effort to challenge children’s abilities while building their self-confidence. All children within this age group are mixed between the classes just as they would be in an elementary school setting.

Our oldest children explore the world through our hands-on, developmentally appropriate approach to learning. We include both child initiated play and teacher-directed academic experiences on a daily basis. Planned lessons and activities allow teachers to informally and continually assess each child in order to effectively modify and individualize instruction.

At the Pre-K level, we concentrate on exposing children to the skills and concepts needed to succeed in kindergarten. Creative expression, math and reading readiness, along with fine and gross motor skill development are just a few of the areas in which we strive to help each child learn, grow and succeed. All children within this age group are mixed between the classes just as they would be in an elementary school setting.

If you want to visit Italy to admire interesting historical attractions, then Syracuse is the best choice for this. The city is famous for its rich past, ancient monuments and fascinating tourist routes.

Over the years of its existence, the Italian city of Syracuse has experienced many interesting events. An amazing rise in the fifth century under the reign of Dionysius I, when this place was rightfully considered one of the most developed and significant cities in the Mediterranean. Numerous palaces, fountains, gardens, temples, the center of cultural values, precious treasures and influence on other cities.

The territory grew at the expense of nearby small villages, which in turn joined the majestic city, and Syracuse was getting bigger.

All significant dates of that period are in contact with Syracuse : the complete defeat of the Carthaginians in 480 under the Chimeras, the Etruscans in 474 BC. in Cuma, which delayed their penetration to the south, the victory in one of the largest naval battles over the Athenians in 413 …

Today, Syracuse is positioned by Sicily as a town for a relaxing holiday, where you can get a lot of positive impressions. Many attractions invariably attract the attention of travelers from all over the world: castles, architectural monuments, excavations of ancient settlements. The city is also famous for the fact that it was in Syracuse that Archimedes was born, worked and found his death here.

What to see when you arrive in the city, what attractions do Syracuse offer? Temple of the seventh century AD, dedicated to Apollo and Artemis, currently recognized as the largest among the ancient Greek sanctuaries of Sicily. Maniache Castle, built in the thirteenth century, is a proud embodiment of military architecture and royal architecture. Euryalus Castle, built in the fifth century BC by subjects of Dionysius I, got its name from the Greek “Eurvelos”, which means nothing more than “a nail with a wide foundation.” The Greek theater, which has a diameter of more than one hundred and thirty-five meters, and is considered one of the largest in the ancient Greek world. Actors playing tragedies and comedies by authors such as Epicarmus and Aeschylus performed here. Today, the theater regularly hosts performances by the National Institute of Ancient Drama based on the works of ancient Greek writers. Also, do not deprive your attention of the Aretuza fountain, in which seagulls live and reeds grow, the archaeological area of ​​\u200b\u200bNeapoli Latomie with many interesting corners. Syracuse: northern city in the south of Italy – Continued

On this trip to Sicily, I was once again convinced of two things. First, you cannot understand Italy without visiting Sicily. Secondly, Sicily is a whole continent! It seems that I have already seen both in Italy and in Sicily a lot, but still I was very surprised. Do you want to know what?

1. When planning a trip to Syracuse, I thought that I would see something like Palermo or Naples – a noisy, bustling, sometimes dangerous and dirty city, the quintessence of the south. But Syracuse turned out to be a very respectable city, calm, convenient for tourists. The historic center of the city is located on the island and is called Ortigia. So in Ortigia there is not a single disadvantaged area or dangerous street. Even at night you can walk there without fear of anything! After the heterogeneous Palermo, Catania, Naples, this was a surprise for me. The city seemed to me in a northern orderly manner. Everyone in Italy compares me with the north, for me, as a person who lived in Bologna, everything after Rome is extreme, very extreme south, and Rome itself is almost Sicily;)

2. All life in the city begins after sunset. Sunsets in Syracuse are amazing!

3. The best place to watch the sunset is the bar of the Des Etrangers hotel. The view from the fifth floor is fantastic!

6. At ten, eleven in the evening, at midnight and after midnight, the streets of the city are full of people. Everyone is walking! With children, with dogs! Something is constantly happening – one day we caught a film festival, the other – a performance of mimes, the third – a puppet theater, the fourth – a performance of a brass youth orchestra from the English Bromley. How wonderful it was to listen to Italian music under the walls of the magnificent Duomo!

7. Here comes the Duomo itself! I can endlessly look at the details of his decoration. In general, there is so much rhythm in the architecture and decor of Italian cities that I can spend hours looking for rhymes and parallels in them.

9. Well, fantastic! This part of Sicily is generally famous for its lush baroque.

11. Here you can see that the Duomo consists, as it were, of two parts – the magnificent front part is attached to the older, still Greek one.

12. Therefore, inside the cathedral turned out to be unusual – raw stones and a wooden ceiling instead of the smoothness of the walls and the whimsical design of the Baroque.

14. Let’s take a walk around the city!

15. The streets leading to Ortigia are planted with these trees. They are planted beautifully – pink alternate with white.

20. Look how narrow the street is! Do you see how the sea is reflected in the windows?

22. Still, Italy is getting shabby. Or I’m ready to forgive her a lot …

32. These three legs, triscalion or trinacria, are the symbol of Sicily. Where there is a cat’s head, a woman’s head is usually located. I like it better with a cat! I took this decoration on the wall of one of the houses.

35. Again the main square of the city. In the church of St. Lucia, which is in the photo, there is a fresco by Caravaggio.

36. Unfortunately, you can’t take it off, but no one could forbid me to take off the beautiful tiles on the floor at the entrance!

37. Huge soap bubbles are blown in the main square, as in many other Italian cities.

39. I wonder if the rules forbid talking on the phone while driving a horse and cart?

40. A couple of days later we saw the newlyweds in this convertible.

41. Mostly Italians themselves have a rest in Syracuse, met a lot of French, there are Russian companies. The beaches are mostly located outside the city, you should go there by car, but we had a beach at the hotel. The sea was warmest, 27 degrees, probably. Well, I’ll tell you about the hotel next time.

The best time to visit Sicily, like Italy in general, is autumn and spring.

Vaccine Administration

We offer low-cost Bordetella and DAPPv vaccinations for dogs 6 days per week on a walk-in basis, as well as by appointment. Pre-booking your appointment ensures we have supplies in stock. Appointments are just 10 minutes, and are done Monday-Saturday. 
Our vaccine services do NOT include an exam by a licensed veterinarian and should NOT be in place of regular vet care. We encourage all pet owners to have their pet seen by a licensed veterinarian at least annually.

A minimum of two doses two weeks apart is required for primary immunization. Annual re-vaccination with a single dose is recommended.

Tons of great stuff. Fun indoor playground and kid care for kids. An all-ages-permitted bouldering wall. Walking/running track. Racquetball courts. tons of equipment. Lots of classes. They post all of the classes and high school practice times online in the classes and pool calendars if you want to plan your visit around those. The website is a little tricky to navigate, but there’s a lot of good info.

The reason ORC has so many people is because they like it.
The main pool, sometimes, is not very busy because the kiddy/play
area is where the kids hang out.
I would like to know when the short bus crowd is using the pool. They are messy.
No, it is not necessary to share the pool with these poopers! Use it any other hour.
It would also be nice to know when the High School group is practicing to allow adults
to swim laps without sharing the 50 meter pool or taking short laps.
HS practice times should be scheduled and the schedule needs strictly adhered to allow people to plan the trip to the ORC. There are serious swimmers, in Orem, who are over 18 years of age and who refuse to compete for space.
It would be practical to allow all of the schedules and reservations to be published on the website. PLEASE SAVE ME A TRIP OR CALL and PUBLISH.

I would not bring my kids again unless it’s winter time for the Indoor pool. The pool area is run down and not properly maintained. The exercise machines are all out in open with no privacy at all. Plus it’s very expensive. One and Done for us!

This center has all the basics you will need from aerobic exercise machines like elliptical, treadmill, stationary bike to indoor track, weight room, swimming pool, and classes to boot all for a low fee. Seemed silly to go,to the advertised places when an annual,fee is not much more than a daily charge for a week at big name places. Open Monday thru Saturday. We have found the place exceptional because we can do whatever our bodies are ready for in the time we have available and when we want. To top it off, the shower facilities are private, clean, and with warm water so we can dress for the day after out exercise thus saving time and money because we use the City’s hot water not ours.

A woman of Faith, devoted to family, detail oriented, firm, a leader, always willing to help and a great listener! Those are words her friends and peers use to describe her. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She served as Field Supervisor for Child and Adult Care Licensing prior to accepting the position of Director. She is compassionate about children and has been an advocate for them since she was a young girl. She has previous experience working with abused children and children in the foster care system. She describes herself as being a person “in service to others” and believes she was placed on earth to help serve others. Ellwanda has been married to Vincent White for 33 years and she is the proud mother of Lakeysha, Martinez, Vincent II, and Vinesha and the loving grandmother of Janaira, James and Noah. She has served in positions within the church as Youth Director, and Director of Christian Education. She is a member of the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA) and the Chattanooga Association for Children’s Early Education (ChACEE) and has previously served on the TECTA Advisory and ChACEE Board.   Organization of work at height according to the new rules: 13 major changes

  Falls from a height are the most common cause of workplace injuries. To reduce the number of accidents associated with working at height, the Ministry of Labor has developed new rules that every employer must comply with. The most important thing is to assess the risks of falling and take measures that can reduce the number of accidents.

  Briefly about the most important changes:

  • work at height under the new rules is any type of work during which there is a risk of falling from a height of 1.8 m or more if they are performed above machines or mechanisms, protruding objects, the surface of a liquid or loose finely dispersed materials.
  • when working at height, the angle of inclination of the ladders must be no more than 75 degrees to the horizontal surface, and the inclination of the ladder – 1:3
  • as duty PPE, it is allowed to use only means with a trigger indicator.
  • before performing work at height by several specialists, when one worker is located vertically above the other, the following is required: additional briefing, fire-fighting measures and work permit.
  • the frequency of testing stairs: wooden – 1 time in 6 months, metal – 1 time per year.

  In total, the Order of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation of November 16, 2020 No. 782n “On approval of the Rules for labor protection when working at height” (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) reflects 13 major changes. Let’s consider them in more detail.

  Change No. 1 The classification of work at height has changed	The organization of work at height according to the new Rules is possible only after an assessment of professional risks. There is no longer a gradation of work “with the use of scaffolding” and “without the use of scaffolding”. If the risk is high, increased security measures are required.
  Change No. 2 When performing work under a work permit, a responsible work manager is appointed	The new Rules require the appointment of a responsible work manager in all cases where work is performed under a work permit.
  Change No. 3 New rules delineate who can be assigned 1, 2, 3 groups, and in which case one employee can have several groups at once	Now in paragraph 14 of the new Rules there is a clear distinction for performing work at height: workers directly performing work at height with groups 1 and 2, and workers with group 3. Moreover, an employee with group 3, who is going to directly perform work at height, is required to assign additionally: Group 1 – for a team member; Group 2 – for the foreman.
  Change No. 4 Prohibition of correspondence and distance learning and internships, as well as self-training for employees with group 1 and 2	The new rules introduce a direct ban on training in safe methods and techniques for performing work exclusively in a remote format. The training program should include practical exercises to develop the necessary skills. Please note! Groups are assigned by the training center. The employer has the right to conduct only annual training in safe methods of working at height in his commission, but groups within the organization cannot be assigned. Internships can also be held only internally.
  Change No. 5 Authorized to work at height under adverse conditions	According to the new Rules, it is allowed to perform work under adverse climatic conditions, with poor visibility and icing, during the installation of structures with large windage, which were previously prohibited. That is why it is required to appoint a responsible work manager for all work at height, develop a work plan, issue a work permit and conduct targeted briefing of each member of the brigade. In addition, use security systems for workers: fencing, safety harnesses or other means of collective protection specified in the PPR.
  Change No. 6 Improved safety and rescue system certification	According to the new rules, the anchor device is also subject to mandatory certification for TR CU 019/2011 . Additional safety requirements are established for personal life-saving devices (ISUs).
  Change No. 7 Regulated the requirements for the content of the technological map	Established requirements for the technological map for work with a minimum acceptable risk of falling from a height, carried out by workers without a work permit and assignment of groups of work at height.
  Change No. 8 Updated the requirements for the content of the action plan for the evacuation and rescue of workers	The action plan for rescue and evacuation must be developed in accordance with the Regulations on the labor protection management system in the organization. The regulation should include section “Response to Accidents, Accidents and Occupational Diseases” .
  Change No. 9 Approved to work from portable ladders with power tools	New Rules no longer prohibit working with power tools from ladders, if safety measures are taken and special conditions are issued in the work permit.
  Change No. 10 Specialized calculation in PPR or TK	A specialized calculation of the load value in the anchor device must be drawn up taking into account the requirements of a separate Appendix No. 11 of the Rules. To calculate the load, it is required to know the number of crew members, the distances between the attachment points of the anchor device and the diameter of the rope, as well as its characteristics.
  Change No. 11 Established test intervals for ladders and ladders	The following test intervals for ladders and stepladders must be observed under the new Rules: 1 x every 6 months for wooden ladders and ladders Once a year for metal stairs. Aside from flight hours, there are several factors that affect the salary of a flight attendant at JetBlue. I myself a JetBlue flight attendant will try to break down our salaries in the most comprehensible way. Table of Contents 1 How Much Do JetBlue Airways Flight Attendants Make? Flight attendants with JetBlue Airways start out making between $25,000 – $35,000 per year. This salary includes flight hours, per diem, international pay, position, holiday, redeye, language, recognition, and other forms of payment. More senior flight attendants can make upwards of $100,000. It’s quite difficult to determine exactly how much a flight attendant will make because it depends on several factors including seniority, schedules, and special positions. But this is what you should expect. Let’s get into the detail of how is structured a flight attendant’s salary. Factors That Affect a Flight Attendant’s Salary Seniority Seniority is everything when it comes to a flight attendant’s pay and schedule. Most airlines, including JetBlue, operate based on a seniority-based system where the flight attendant who has been employed the longest and is the oldest is the most senior. In contrast, the youngest and most newly employed flight attendant is the most junior. When a flight attendant is hired at JetBlue they are given a seniority number in which they are then placed on the seniority list. Seniority is important for two reasons: pay and flight schedule. Every year during your hiring month you receive the next year’s pay raise. Senior flight attendants cap out at 13 years with a whopping straight scale hourly rate of $56.40 and our starting premium scale hourly rate is $21. 00. As JetBlue hires more flight attendants, you become senior to the new hires. Not only do you continue earning a higher hourly rate, but you also will be able to have a better schedule as you become more senior and JetBlue hires more flight attendants.  Every month starting on the first, you’ll bid (pick) for the schedules you want for the following month. This is where seniority comes into play because the senior mamas will generally receive the schedules they bid for over the junior flight attendants. Schedules Aside from seniority, a schedule is everything at JetBlue! Upon first glance, schedules can be very complicated and confusing. A smart flight attendant will learn the ins and outs of scheduling quickly though in order to make the most bang for their buck. There are several official manuals, social media platforms, and fellow co-workers who are more than willing to assist and teach the new hires to bid for their monthly schedules. When you bid, there are three main assignments that you bid for: a line, a reduced lower limit, and a reserve schedule. 1) LINE A line means a set schedule for the following month (you have and you know your monthly schedule of trips ahead of time). Those flight attendants will know exactly where they fly and when they will fly. This sounds the best right? It absolutely is the best option in my opinion. Your work and leisure life completely change once you become senior enough to hold a line versus being on reserve (on call, just like nurses and firefighters).  Most flight attendants will always prefer a line but that is the beauty of having so much flexibility and options in terms of building our own schedules is that everyone will bid for something different. But again, it depends on your seniority with the airline. 2) REDUCED LOWER LIMIT (RLL) If a flight attendant cannot hold a line due to their seniority and our bidding platform cannot assign them at least 70 hours, then they are assigned an RLL which also means a partial line. They will be scheduled around 35 hours of assigned trips. The unique and nice part about being scheduled for an RLL is the ability to pick up (get or add) additional trips. So you have the option to pick up trips from the electronic trade board. The electronic trade board is where flight attendants can go to drop trips, trade trips (swap trips with other crew), and pick trips up. If the flight attendant does not pick up additional hours using our open time pot platform with available trips, then they will be assigned reserve days that equal at least 70 hours. 3) RESERVE The majority of flight attendants that can hold a line or RLL due to their seniority will get a set schedule: with all their flights assigned previously, which is great to be able to plan your life in advance. But most junior flight attendants will be assigned reserve. Meaning that they will be on-call on certain days during a month, so they must have their phone on them and wait for crew scheduling to call. At JetBlue, reserve means that you will be scheduled 18 days a month of ON CALL assignments. For each reserve day, you are assigned 10 hours of on call time.  A reserve finds out exactly what time they are on call the day before the reserve day starts. During your time on reserve, you may be assigned a trip to work over the course of your reserve days or you may also be called to sit at the airport (it’s an airport standby) so that you are ready for last-minute flight assignments. Reserves must be ready to work a quick day trip or a 4-day trip with only a 2-hour notice once called during their reserve time. WHAT CAN YOU BID FOR? To complete your monthly bid, a flight attendant may enter dozens of different preferences. This is the fun part! Every flight attendant wants a different type of schedule so it’s nice that we are able to control our schedules to some extent while keeping seniority in mind. A JetBlue flight attendant may specify: an aircraft (B737, A330) positions (galley, lead) layovers (destinations where you stay instead of flying back immediately) trip length (e. g. 2-day trips) buddy bids (choose to bid a line to fly with another Flight Attendant) time of flights (working earlies, lates, night flights…) locations (Paris, Frankfurt…) and several other factors that a flight attendant needs to take into consideration because every little piece of their schedule may affect their pay in some capacity. Some flight attendants enjoy long layovers because we are paid per diem at a rate of $2.15 for every hour that we layover while other flight attendants prefer a short hour so that they are flying and making their higher hourly pay. If you enjoy flying redeyes (night flights), then you will be paid an additional night override pay. International trips, positions, and holiday pay are all ways to earn extra money on top of your hourly rate. These are all important aspects of a flight attendant’s schedule because they directly affect your pay. Special Positions While seniority and schedules make up the most important aspects of a JetBlue flight attendant’s pay, there are some special positions that a flight attendant may work that will earn them extra pay. Some special assignments a flight attendant may also work include: a language of destination (LOD) inflight operating experience (IOE) blue review onboard lead and several other special assignments that management may announce. A language of destination (LOD) flight attendant is a common position for a bilingual individual who speaks Spanish fluently. An LOD must work at least two trips per month in which they are needed to speak Spanish on a flight. They are needed to make public announcements in Spanish and attend to various situations on board that require a Spanish speaker. They are paid extra on top of their hourly rate for each flight that they are an LOD for. An inflight operating experience (IOE) position and a blue review position are special assignments that flight attendants can apply for and work that not only earn them some extra pay but also a new experience and qualification. An IOE position evaluates new hires in accordance with FAA regulations. A blue review position assists with hiring our newest crewmembers. Flight Hours Having schedule flexibility not only means deciding on where and when you will fly but also includes how much or how little you decide to work. On average, a flight attendant will have at least 70 hours assigned to their monthly schedule regardless of type of assignment. They are able to pick up (add) additional trips that are available and work a max of 150 hours or a minimum of 60 hours as a full-time flight attendant. Depending on seniority, this is a huge difference in hourly pay per month! At JetBlue Airways, there are two pay scales to pick from: straight or premium pay. The pay scale that you pick should coincide with how many hours you plan to work each month. If you work a lower number of hours such as 70 flight hours, then you would want to choose straight pay. The break-even point is 88 hours. If you work more than 88 hours, then you would want to elect to be on the premium scale because you are paid at a higher hourly rate once you work 70 hours. However, if you work under 88 hours per month, then you would want to be on the straight pay scale. JetBlue flight attendants cap out at 13 years with a straight pay of $56.40. This means that the flight attendant likely works below 88 hours per month. However, if a 13-year senior mama decides to work 100 hours for example, then they would want to be on premium pay. The premium scale pays a base rate of $51.38 up until you work 70 hours and then you earn $77.07 thereafter. Having two pay scales can be confusing but it is meant to ensure fair salaries for those that would like to work full-time but work minimum hours while also giving an incentive to those that would like to work more hours. At 13 years, it would be lucrative to work more than 88 hours on the premium rate! If you work less than 88 hours, then you should elect to be on the straight scale pay at $56.40.   For a flight attendant on reserve during the first year, their salary is admittedly quite low. $21 x 70 hours = $1,470 per month minus deductions. If the reserve flight attendant has long layovers, redeyes, or other ways to make extra money this number may increase but in general, the first year as a flight attendant may be tough financially. Recently, JetBlue has allowed reserve flight attendants to pick up an additional 20 flight hours to be paid on top of their guaranteed 70 hours which is a nice pay incentive. When Do JetBlue Airways Flight Attendants Get Paid? JetBlue flight attendants are paid twice a month on the 8th and the 20th. This is pretty odd and highly controversial amongst the flight attendants since there is generally an 18-day wait between the 20th and 8th paycheck. The paycheck on the 8th is considered the bigger check because it includes extra pay such as premium scale pays, per diem, redeye pay, international pay, credit card incentives, and other factors. The second pay on the 20th is always less and includes your base pay rate at 35 hours only. Deductions Deductions on your paycheck depend greatly on your personal preferences and situation. In general, most JetBlue flight attendants have tax withholdings which include social security and Medicare. In the state of New York, there is a disability tax and a family leave tax. Other deductions are for the most part voluntary but most JetBlue flight attendants opt to have certain deductions for themselves and their families. These deductions include healthcare, dental, 401k, health savings account, short-term disability, stock purchases, and ROTH IRA deductions.
