Kiddie Junction Infant Room
Infant & Toddler Programs
At Kiddie Junction, our staff and teachers take pride in the loving, caring and nurturing environment that we provide for our infants and toddlers. We believe that learning begins here. Our Kidex program provides children with one-on-one developmentally appropriate activities which are done with each child on a daily basis.
In our Infant & Toddler rooms we use the Sign With Your Baby program. This is a great program that allows us to work on communicating with young children before they are able to verbalize their wants and needs to their caregiver. We also provide Similac and Enfamil products, jar foods, cereal, whole milk and table foods when your child is ready.

PreSchool Program
Our PreSchool program incorporates our Creative Curriculum Continuum. Each lesson plan follows a theme which includes activities in the areas of art, music, stories, finger-plays, science and fine & large motor skill activities.
It is our goal that by the time the children leave our PreSchool program, they will have met the objectives in all four areas of development including physical, cognitive, social-emotional and creative development.

Get a Learning Boost with First Grade Worksheets
When kids make the jump from kindergarten to first grade, one of the first things they discover is the increased workload. Sure, first-graders still get to have fun, but not at the rate they did in kindergarten. That’s because first grade is when pupils are introduced to dozens of critical concepts across a wide range of subjects, all within the confines of a structured classroom atmosphere.
This reality can lead to frustration and angst, which in turn can significantly hinder educational development. One way to keep first-graders engaged and focused is to access our first grade worksheets. Not only do these worksheets reinforce important material taught in class, but with dozens of cool designs and interactive activities, learning becomes more of a treat than a chore.
The best part about first grade worksheets is they cover the entire educational landscape, from math (“Addition Under the Sea”) to language arts (“What is cause and effect?”) to science (“What is precipitation?”). That means parents are certain to find an activity that suits the needs and interests of every child. And if your student happens to be advanced, we’ve got first grade worksheets designed to challenge the brightest of young minds.

Preparing for the 1st grade at home is a painstaking and responsible task. But it is quite within the power of both the future first-grader and his parents! Our Free School Ready Worksheets, which you can download and print for free, will help you.
The design of classes should be progressive as it provides adequate and timely instruction to develop the skills and abilities for future learning. This process must be gradual. It is recommended to plan the steps to be followed in the learning process, i.e. to go from the symbolic to the representative, from the general to the specific, from the concrete to the figurative, until you reach the abstract.
It is important not to try to teach children to read and write 0064 before they had achieved a certain development of hand-eye coordination and a positive attitude towards learning.
Do you know what is the first step to learning to write? Well developed gross motor skills!
You rarely see a clumsy, always picking corners child with perfect handwriting. As a rule, problems with gross motor skills for school will be accompanied by fine motor skills.
All types of activities contribute to the development of gross motor skills : ordinary active walks on the playground, tree climbing, jumping ropes, hopscotch, all kinds of crawling, cycling and scootering, sports sections and circles, dancing, rope parks and so on.
Requirements for a first-grader
For the first time in history, preschool childhood has become a special self-valuable level of education , the main goal of which is the formation of a successful personality. Key setting of the federal state educational standard (FGOS) – support for the diversity of childhood through the creation of conditions for the social situation of the assistance of adults and children for the development of the abilities of each child.
Fragment from the book “On the Way to First Grade” by V. Berestov with illustrations by S. Ostrov, 1988 . This is the level of development of the child determined by age in five directions:
social and communicative;
educational;
speech;
artistic and aesthetic;
physical.
The whole trick is to develop harmoniously and consistently all five directions. Usually we manage to keep only one or two in focus, and for some reason we are always talking about the cognitive sphere. But without social and physical development, no knowledge can be fully applied.
Tasks for preparing children for school usually include the development of speech, memory, fine motor skills, obtaining basic knowledge about the world around them, the alphabet, elementary mathematics . You can print free such assignments to prepare children for school below.
Of course, all parents are concerned about academic performance, many dream of seeing their son as the first student, and their daughter as the pride of the school. Remember: from any evaluative remarks addressed to the child, his idea of \u200b\u200bhimself, his self-esteem is formed. A the laurels of the child prodigy sometimes come at too heavy a price.
Your diligent student is able to learn exactly as much as age and personality characteristics, well-being, level of psychological development allow him.
One should not constantly expect grandiose successes from the child, it is much more important to rejoice in his small victories and achievements , avoiding stressful situations associated with academic workloads if possible.
Here: a psychological test for a child’s readiness for school, which is easy for parents to carry out at home.
Pre-School Math
Making a serious activity fun for a child is the task of early learning. Every child requires activity, and, moreover, serious activity. .. Therefore, from the very first lessons, teach children to love their duties and find pleasure in their performance. K.D. Ushinsky

Preschool tasks in mathematics
I will cite a very interesting of an unknown task for me in mathematics. If someone knows the author, write in the comments, please, I will indicate.
Measure yourself!
Excerpts from the manual “100 crafts to prepare for school.”
Graphic dictation
Tasks – graphic dictations for preschoolers train attention, perseverance, memory, fine motor skills, coordination of movements, spelling vigilance.
Download and print graphic dictations here. I highly recommend these activities for preschoolers and younger students!
Print preschool recipes
Development of graphomotor skills in preschoolers using dotted or dotted recipes is an important area for a child’s development, both for preparation for school and for general development.
👉 Download the above preschool recipes in PDF format
Colored recipes for preparing for grade 1 can be printed here: for toddlers, for preschoolers.
What other tasks and aids can be used to develop a child’s graphomotor skills? Graphic dictations, pixel stickers (start with larger stickers and then move on to smaller ones), coloring books, hatching, drawing in any form, geoboards, mosaics, puzzles and so on.
Print copybooks by dots and numbers
Tasks for preparing children for school – copybooks by dots and numbers – one of the most effective. By exercising in this way, the child trains graphomotor skills, mathematical knowledge, consistency, perseverance.
Tasks – drawings by cells
Drawing by cells of a picture means gradually forming spatial representations and exercising fine motor skills in children.
To write one letter, the child must mentally see it, turn it in space, and only after that, his brain performs a whole range of actions that allows him to connect his hands with his head and write the desired sign.
Print effective tasks to prepare your child for school:
More tasks to prepare children for grade 1 – repeat the drawing in the cells.
Copybooks with letters
Not recommended by teachers for preparing children for grade 1. The teacher at the school will have his own , he himself will put the child’s hand, and it is much more difficult to relearn than to teach from scratch. And such recipes are very boring for a preschooler. Therefore, they may form a negative attitude towards the writing process even before school.
If a child is sitting at home, it means that he already has a lack of physical activity , he should not be seated at the table either.
In order to “feel” the letters, it is useful to mold them from plasticine sausages, lay them out from counting sticks, from wire, buttons, pompons, magnetic mosaic, from rope . Then you can quickly change the width or height of the letter, and choose the most successful and beautiful.

Speech development
and understandable, logical speech in a preschooler. For this purpose, you can use the following materials:
Composing a story based on a series of plot pictures
Preposition games
A selection of books that a child needs to read before school – I mean reading a child together with an adult, of course.
Learning to retell
Useful manual by Elena Bortnikova “Learning to retell”. In it, similar stories are given with a thematic picture that helps to retell.

Developing every day
When a child goes to school, he will need such skills as listening and hearing speaking correctly and accurately, taking instructions and acting in accordance with the task, answer questions and ask them, plan and control their activities, and much more.
A child needs help today:
listen to the sounding word and carry out its simplest sound analysis. After all, Russian writing is sound. Therefore, it is important even at the stage of preparation for school to learn to hear the sound of words;
correctly pronounce all the sounds of the native language,
recognize and memorize the sounds and their letter designation. Do not confuse letter and sound.
Reading
Selection of games and toys Learning letters, reading syllables
Readiness for reading: 5 signs
Tasks-fillords for children. What words are hidden among the letters?
Social studies
For a long time, the level of mental development of a child was judged by the amount of knowledge revealed in him, by the volume of vocabulary. This is not entirely true.
Now children are literally swimming in the flow of information, absorbing new words and expressions like a sponge. Their vocabulary is increasing, but this does not mean that thinking is developing at the same pace. At the same time, the efforts of parents do not know the measure, and the possibilities of children are not taken into account.
Such parents, having not taught a child to tie shoelaces, “stuff” him with all possible information, regardless of age characteristics. One knows all the constellations of the Galaxy, but does not know where his parents work, another has memorized an encyclopedic dictionary, but is completely unable to communicate with his peers, is afraid of them, the third knows how to add hundreds of numbers in his mind, but does not know the names of his parents. And there are many such examples.
Preschoolers can easily understand both external and internal connections between objects. Showing the interdependence between phenomena (if we water, spud plants, they grow stronger, flowers and fruits appear faster; if you hit glass, it will break), we teach children to compare, find common and different, connect facts, draw conclusions, group, divide, come to simple inferences.
The result of the intellectual development of a preschooler is visual-figurative thinking.
Readiness for school is determined not only by the amount of knowledge that a child has, but by the ability to acquire it, use it in one’s activity, and improve it.
Dynamic pause
Any educational activity that is not related to movements is a burden on the child’s body. Children quickly get tired and lose interest in learning, which negatively affects the effectiveness of cognitive processes. Therefore, much attention must be paid to the importance of movements in the life of a child, in his holistic, harmonious development.
Today’s children are often busy with useful but sedentary activities: drawing and modeling, learning the basics of counting and writing. Such classes must necessarily alternate with mobile ones. You can use small forms of active recreation: physical education minutes, dynamic pauses. They may also include elements of gymnastics for the eyes.
Blink
Blink quickly – quickly And rub it a little. Look at the tip of the nose. And look at the “eyebrow area”. Circle, square and triangle Repeat three times. Close the eyes, Inhale slowly. And on the exhale again Make your eyes blink. And now we have relaxed We went to our places.
We wrote
Voluntary movements.
We wrote, we wrote, our fingers were tired. You jump, fingers, like sunbeams. Jump-jump, jump-jump – galloped to the meadow. The wind shakes the grass, tilts it right and left. Don’t be afraid of the wind, bunnies, have fun on the lawn!
Adaptation at school
Starting school is one of the most difficult and responsible periods in a child’s life, both in social, psychological and physiological terms. These are not only new conditions for the life and activities of the child – these are new contacts, new relationships, new responsibilities.
The whole life of a child changes: everything is subordinated to studies, school, school affairs and cares. This is a very stressful period, primarily because from the very first days the school poses a number of tasks for the student that are not directly related to his experience, it requires the maximum mobilization of intellectual and physical forces.
Adaptation (adaptation) of the child to school does not occur immediately. Not a day, not a week is required in order to get used to the school for real. This is a rather long process associated with a significant stress on all body systems.
Outwardly, this is expressed in a change in the child’s behavior – lethargy, irritability, headaches, sleep disturbance, decreased performance, fatigue, susceptibility to respiratory diseases.
If these changes are weakly expressed and disappear completely during the first quarter, one can judge the child’s easy and quick adaptation to school and readiness for schooling.
The stability of negative manifestations in the state of health and well-being of the child until the end of the first half of the year indicates the average severity of the adaptation process. If, by the end of the school year, stabilization of normal health is not observed, then this indicates a high level of severity of adaptation. It is the weakened children who experience the greatest difficulty in learning and cause particular concern.

How to psychologically prepare a child for school
In our country we have a Ready for School program – tests, but children pass these tests formally.
After all, it is impossible for a child not to go to school on time! And preparation for school consists in preschool education in reading, writing and counting. What, in fact, is not as important as skills of perception, analysis and synthesis of information, the ability to cooperate with the team and hold attention. Then learning becomes a pleasant, useful and exciting adventure, and the children themselves eagerly grab the textbooks.
The child should also be introduced to the “new life” before September. Take your child by the hand and go!
Take a tour of the school. Show where the primary school classrooms, toilets, canteen are located. If possible, let him come into the classroom and sit at his desk. This can be done not only on an open day, but also later – even in summer, if you agree on this with the administration in advance. And anxiety will decrease, and information will be better absorbed – tactile and visual perception help in this.
Walk the route to school together. Even if you are not going to let the child go alone yet, he must know how long it takes to get there.
Tell us how the daily routine will be arranged. Explain that the sleep hour is canceled, you will have breakfast together at home, and not in kindergarten, and there will be no usual walks and games at school.
It is possible and necessary to help the child adapt to school.
Explain why the school is needed.
Tell us why a teacher is needed and what is his role.
Learn to talk about your problems when your parents are not around. The child should be able to ask for help from others – a teacher, a cloakroom attendant, a security guard. Teach him to take care of himself.
Teach not to conflict, but to cooperate with peers.
Practice patience. The child will have to sit at a desk for a long time, focus on one subject for a long time, not play or jump for a while.
10 First Grader Skills
There are skills that we always forget about when preparing a child for 1st grade at home. They seem obvious to us, but meanwhile there are also 9 of them.0063 needs to be taught as letters.
Introduce yourself, say your name.
Follow instructions.
Accept rejection.
Ask for help.
Say thank you.
Ask for forgiveness.
Accept the consequences of your actions.
Accept criticism.
Express disagreement.
Manage emotions.

Games . “… in no other activity is there such an emotionally filled entry into the life of adults, such an effective allocation of social functions and the meaning of human activity, as in the game,” wrote the famous psychologist D.B. Elkonin.
Retelling close to the text: for easy reading and writing, you need consistency and a good level of speech development.
Poetry learning : trains not only memory, but also understanding of the rules and punctuation in the future. After all, intonation is punctuation!
Use computer ! The child wants to press the keys, and not draw letters in a notebook. And for the development of fine motor skills, a graphics computer or even an ordinary computer mouse is great. Of course, balance must be observed in everything, but remember that in adulthood, the child most likely will not write with a pen, but will tap on the keyboard. So why not improve this skill from childhood?
Talk more and communicate with your child ! It is important for the formation of speech, intelligence, social skills, self-confidence. This is important for your relationship. And harmony in the family is the absence of neurosis when a child enters grade 1.
A person is formed in activity, and the more versatile it is, the more versatile his personality. When entering school, the leading activity of younger students is education. For a child, this transition is very difficult: play activity, which is relatively free in nature, is replaced by educational activity, which is mandatory.
For successful learning, a child must not only be psychologically prepared for learning activities, but also have a strong desire to learn. During this period, motivation for learning is important for younger students, including interest in school and interest in a new type of activity – learning. And only under the condition that the cognitive interest in learning activities is constantly supported by the teacher, the child gradually develops an interest in acquiring new knowledge, skills and abilities.

A Caregiver’s Guide to Coping with Stress and Burnout
Most caregivers don’t worry about their own health- they’re solely focused on the person for whom they’re caring. But those who provide care to an older or disabled loved one tend to live with high chronic stress and skimp on self-care — factors that raise the risk for negative emotional and physical health outcomes.
Not surprisingly, caregivers report higher levels of psychological stress compared to non-caregivers, according to a 2019 report by the National Center for Biotechnology Information. The numbers are staggering: of study participants, 19% of caregivers had burnout and 22.6% were at risk of developing caregiver burnout syndrome. And the CDC has reported that 53% of caregivers experience a decline in their own health, making them more likely than the general public to have a chronic illness (82% versus 61%).
“Caregivers tend to be a special personality type: big-hearted, sensitive, responsible, well-intentioned — people who are motivated by and take a deep satisfaction in doing right by their loved one,” says geriatric psychiatrist Ken Robbins of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. “But that’s often to the exclusion of taking care of themselves.” Adding to health risks: Most caregivers are at midlife or beyond themselves, ages when their own illness and physical challenges tend to surface.
But if you’re used to putting others first, how can you shift to not putting your own self last? “Making the connection between your well-being and your ability to continue providing care is often the ‘ah-ha’ realization for caregivers whose own health is suffering,” Robbins says. “Only then do many make their own healthcare a priority.”
In this guide, we’ll provide more detail on caregiver burnout to help you identify if you may be at risk. We’ll also provide some ways to manage stress and offer coping strategies for caregiver burnout so that you can continue to care for your loved one and care for yourself.
Caregiving and COVID-19
COVID-19 has exacerbated the stress that comes with caregiving for millions of family caregivers in the U. S. The epidemic forced some families to make the difficult decision to delay or cease professional senior care for their loved ones, leaving family caregivers without paid support and resources. The ripple effect has taken a serious toll on the lives of people who need care and their families and loved ones.
COVID-19 has made it more difficult for caregivers to balance their responsibilities at home and their work obligations. This is particularly true for women, who make up two-thirds of caregivers and often have to balance caregiving for an older loved one with caring for children and working outside the home. According to the CDC, female caregivers have a higher risk for poor health outcomes, such as depression, anxiety, and a higher incidence of physical illness.
Although women may be more likely to face competing priorities of caring for children and an older loved one, all caregivers are managing the increased pressures brought on by COVID-19. Keep reading to learn more about how you can manage caregiver stress and burnout.
What Is Caregiver Burnout?
Caregiver burnout, also called caregiver fatigue, is mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion that may develop through the responsibilities of supporting and caring for another individual. “Caregivers often focus so intently on the needs of the individual receiving care that they may neglect their own health and wellness,” says Darren Sush, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist in Los Angeles.
The ongoing obligations of providing care for a loved one causes caregivers’ exhaustion to intensify further, impacting different aspects of their lives, as well as their effectiveness and compassion as a caregiver.
Sush says that burnout may be easily misunderstood as simply feeling overly tired, or even occasionally exhausted. “Unfortunately, while being tired can often be resolved by taking a break, getting a little more sleep, or actively trying to relax, burnout is more often less easily relieved. Individuals who experience caregiver burnout, tend to face an all-encompassing fatigue that impacts multiple areas of their lives,” he says.
Caregiver burnout can happen to anyone who is providing care for another person, whether it’s hands-on care, occasional care, from a distance, or even at the “managerial” level, says Zina Paris, MSW, associate director of Clinical Services at Alzheimer’s Greater Los Angeles, a local non-profit that helps families affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. “It happens when you feel that the experience of caregiving is overwhelming and that you do not have the support – physically, mentally, emotionally, financially – that you need in order to successfully care for the person and to take care of yourself adequately at the same time,” says Paris.
Know the Caregiver Burnout Symptoms
Very often, caregivers can find themselves accustomed to the routine stress, worry, and discomfort that comes with providing care for a loved one. And as a result, you may not know the warning signs of caregiver fatigue until it already starts affecting your health and ability to provide care.
Below, we explain some common symptoms of caregiver burnout. If you notice yourself experiencing these symptoms regularly, it’s an indication that it may be time to take some time for yourself.
1. A Short Fuse
Losing your temper easily or feeling angry toward friends, family members or even the person you’re caring for is one obvious sign of caregiver stress. Frustration may particularly increase when obstacles or challenges come up, whether major or minor.
2. Emotional Outbursts
If you find yourself crying or feeling despair unexpectedly or more often, that could be another warning sign. Of course, if you’re caring for a loved one with a declining condition, it’s natural to grieve, and caregiving can stir up a range of complicated emotions. But if you’re increasingly emotional or feeling emotionally fragile, there may be something more going on. Depression is a real risk for caregivers. Even if you’re not clinically depressed, emotional outbursts can be an unconscious outlet for feelings of being overwhelmed.
3. Sleep Problems
If you’re having trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up tired, that could be another warning sign. Caregiving — especially full-time caregiving — requires tremendous physical effort, but the emotions involved can lead to sleepless nights. Sometimes the issues your care recipient may be suffering from, like wandering or waking up in the middle of the night in pain, can cost you opportunities to rest on top of the tiring work you do all day. It can be a vicious cycle too, as trouble getting to sleep or staying asleep can also be caused by stress, anxiety, and depression.
4. Significant Weight Change
Suddenly gaining or losing weight can be another warning sign. For some people, stress can result in weight loss when they can’t seem to find time to eat adequately or nutritiously. Anxiety often lowers the appetite as well. For others, feeling stressed leads to weight gain from emotionally triggered eating, frequent snacking, or quick but unhealthy food choices.
Changes in eating and sleeping habits can also indicate depression. If your weight has changed by more than five or ten pounds since you began caregiving, your body may be sending you a signal that you need help.
5. Physical Ailments
If you find yourself getting headaches more often or feeling like you just catch one cold after another, that could be another warning sign. Or if you’re getting chronic back or neck aches or developed high blood pressure. Mental and emotional stress can cause physical disorders. For example, stress can lead to headaches that are more frequent, more persistent, or stronger than you’re used to. You’ll also lack the time or inclination to properly take care of yourself, setting the stage for more stress. Stress lowers immunity, which is part of the reason caregivers have a higher rate of chronic disease compared to non-caregivers.
6. Social Isolation
Ifyou find yourself going entire days while seeing no one but your care recipient or are dropping out of your usual activities to care for someone, that can lead to burnout as well. Getting out can simply be hard if you’re responsible for providing care. You may feel you lack the time for your former pursuits. Your care recipient’s changes in behavior may also make you feel embarrassed or make going out in public too onerous to attempt. Whether intentionally or not, you may become withdrawn. Unfortunately, social isolation itself contributes to stress, whereas being with others and taking time for yourself are both replenishing.
Ways to Manage Caregiver Stress
Caregiver stress doesn’t just affect you mentally- it can also lead to physical problems, including chronic pain. “The mind and body are connected. When you experience stress, there are a whole range of physiological changes — every organ in the body is affected,” says Vicki Rackner, a clinical faculty member of the University of Washington School of Medicine and the author of Caregiving Without Regrets. We recommend the following strategies to help you maintain your own wellness while supporting your loved one.
1. Seek Professional Guidance and Support Groups
Many people choose to seek the help of a therapist or support group to manage their caregiver stress. “That provides a safe, sympathetic, and constructive environment where caregivers can express their wants and needs,” says Darren Sush, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist in Los Angeles. Support groups for caregivers, even highly tailored ones such as for Alzheimer’s caregivers or particularly for men, may also be available in your area, though most caregivers find it difficult to get out of the house for support groups in their limited free time. Ask at local hospitals, senior centers, places of worship, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
2. Ask Family and Friends for Help
Find others who can step in and give you a break. It can be hard to ask for help, but know that your good friends and family want you to be happy. Not only will it give you some time to relax, but those filling in will better understand both your needs and your care recipient’s needs. Make sure to express your gratitude: It’s sometimes a good idea to compensate family or friends informally with things like gift cards, a bag of their favorite coffee, or a dessert to-go. When approaching potential helpers, be specific about what’s required and get a solid commitment about the days and times they’re available to avoid uncomfortable arguments down the road.
3. Bring Your Employer Into the Loop
Caregivers are often reluctant to bring up caregiving distractions at work, but you may be eligible for caregiving-related programs, including leave time, flex time, free needs assessments by geriatric care managers, and more. Not all companies offer such programs, says Gail Hunt, president of the National Caregiving Alliance in Bethesda, Maryland. But of the 18 percent of the workforce that’s eligible for such programs, only 2 percent are using them, she says.
4. Adopt a Problem-Solving Approach
Try to break down the tasks of caregiving into specific puzzles to be solved: If bathing is stressful, try to figure out exactly why and what might be done about it. Do you fully understand why people with memory problems say and do the things they do? Are you intimidated by a piece of medical equipment? Defining concrete problems and identifying possible solutions puts you closer to getting help with them and helps you avoid feeling overwhelmed by the big picture.
5. Listen When Your Body Talks
“Pain in your body is like a warning light in your car,” says Vicki Rackner of the University of Washington School of Medicine. “You ignore the ‘E’ on the gas gauge at your own peril. Your body is no different.” Chances are that ignoring a new symptom isn’t going to help it go away; it will only start shouting at you by getting worse. When you start to feel the effects of caregiver fatigue, take it as a sign that you need to give yourself a break. This may involve calling on friends and family for assistance, or considering some form of formal respite care.
6. Connect With Your Loved One’s Doctor
“Everyone is better served — including the caregiver — if the caregiver is included as part of the team,” Rackner says. Research shows that when doctors find ways to address the unique needs of individual caregivers, the stress load is reduced. Your loved one’s doctor may have some suggestions to reduce your fatigue that can benefit both you and your loved one.
7. Schedule Yourself In
Caregivers spend an inordinate amount of time with a loved one’s doctors but seldom see their own. Make your own appointments for regular exams, flu shots, dental visits, and the like at the same time you arrange a loved one’s. Some practitioners allow simultaneous visits for pairs who share providers.
8. Find Healthy Emotional Outlets
Caregivers need at least one safe place to vent. Maybe this is a friend who agrees to listen without judging, or a diary that’s scribbled in and then burned. Peer support from others in similar situations is ideal. Online caregiver forums provide safe places to vent 24/7.
Lifestyle Tips to Alleviate Caregiver Fatigue
1. Allow Yourself to Have a Social Life
You may be feeling isolated or upset that your old circle no longer seems to check up on you and how you’re faring. But is it possible that you’ve turned them down so often because of your caregiving duties, or that caregiving concerns so dominate your life and conversation, that they may think you’re just not interested in them? So when you do see them, don’t just talk about caregiving. If every conversation concerns one subject, it’s a warning sign that the topic is monopolizing your life.
2. Take a Mini-Vacation
Vacations are really hard when you have an elderly or disabled person in your care, but a short break can work wonders for caregiver fatigue. Your vacation doesn’t have to be three weeks in France- start small. A simple overnight at a friend’s house or a local B&B, a stay-cation at a nearby hotel to try a new restaurant, or even a day trip to a hiking trail or park. If you’re able, schedule some “vacation time” to simply do something for yourself.
3. Explore a Hobby
Your hobby doesn’t have to be a conventional one like stamp-collecting or bird-watching, it just needs to be an outlet away from caregiving. Reading novels uninterrupted, taking up knitting, joining a book club, taking, being a matinee-movie addict, or enjoying your children and grandchildren all count, too. Anything that takes you away from caregiving for bursts of time. Bonus points if it takes you out of the house, too.
4. Plan and Prepare
Constantly refill what’s depleted so you’re not stressing about running out of anything. Learn as much as you can about your loved one’s condition(s) and how it/they typically progress. Caregivers are sometimes reluctant to “read too far ahead” for fear they can’t relate to later disease stages. They also may fear ‘jinxing’ — worrying that if they think about something, it might come true.
Diseases are realities, not wishes. Ask your loved one’s doctor to be candid about the prognosis and course of the disease, read information online, ask others who’ve been there. If your loved one has dementia, understand the various stages, where your loved one likely is, and what to do next.
It could also help to focus on some “if this, then this” scenarios. This type of thinking helps you at least begin the process of considering where you might find more help, what kind of home modifications would help and how you’d get them done or alternative living situations.
5. Find New Ways to Manage Overwhelming Care Tasks
Make sure you’re not trying to solve the problem alone. Brainstorm possible solutions with other family members, a social worker or geriatric care manager, doctors, and friends — including virtual ones — who may have experienced similar issues.
Be sure there’s been a thorough physical exam to see if a problem, such as incontinence, is fixable. Adult diapers and toileting schedules, or a change in medications, may make incontinence more manageable, for example. Frequent falls and problems getting up are other physiological problems that may be treatable. For behavioral issues such as wandering, learn the basic ways to address the problem (for example: floor alarms, locks, reducing anxiety) and see if they make a difference
Respite Care Options for Family Caregivers
All caregivers face a time when they need alternative care options for their aging loved one, whether that be for some personal self-care time, a family emergency, or a work trip. Today, there is a wide range of respite care options for times when family caregivers have to tend to personal obligations. What follows are some of the most common respite care options for elderly adults.
1. Companion Care
An in-home companion care aide can prepare meals, do light housekeeping, help with laundry, shop for groceries, run errands — and, most important, offer companionship to the elderly person you care for when you can’t be there. Its cost can range from free services provided by local volunteers to $20 or more per hour for help arranged through an in-home care agency, depending on the type of care needed and the time of day. Medicaid or a similar state program may help pay some of the costs of respite care from a licensed provider for those who have low incomes and few assets.
From local sources to national groups and organizations, there are many sources for companion care. If you know of a neighbor, friend, or family member who’s been able to find a good match for companionship needs, ask how — and whether he or she might be able to recommend others for the position.
Start your search by using Caring.com’s In-Home Care Directory to find an agency near your elderly loved one, and to see ratings and reviews from current and former clients.
2. Personal Care Assistants
Personal care assistants provide a slightly higher level of care than a companion aide. In addition to helping with household tasks, errands, and companionship, personal care aides can also assist with the activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming. They still can’t provide medical services, but they can help administer prescribed medications and — if they have the proper training — help move those who have mobility limitations. Costs range from $15 to $40 per hour for intermittent help; $120 to $200 per day or more for live-in care.
You can locate in-home care agencies in your area by searching Caring.com’s Senior Living Directory.
3. Adult Day Care
Adult day services, also known as adult daycare, provide some health monitoring, mind and body exercise, social activities, meals, transportation (often door to door), and other support services. Most offer a safe, supervised environment for clients as well as respite for regular caregivers. Facilities include stand-alone centers, churches, hospitals, and nursing homes. The cost from a licensed provider ranges from $25 to $150 per day; many offer sliding-scale fees and accept Medicaid and some types of insurance coverage.
It’s best to contact and tour possible adult day services providers to find the best fit for your loved one. Two good places to find leads: Use Caring.com’s Senior Living Directory to search for adult day services by city or zip code — and to see ratings and reviews. Or contact the staff at your local Area Agency on Aging and ask for a referral.
4. Assisted Living Respite Care
Though they typically cater to long-term residents, many assisted-living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, and nursing homes (also known as skilled nursing facilities) also offer short-term stays for older adults who need help with everyday tasks. Time frames range from a partial day to several weeks. The stay allows residents and their families peace of mind, knowing that a caregiver is always close at hand. A possible added benefit: The arrangement allows a commitment-free way for a potential resident to check out whether the facility might be a good fit down the line. Many facilities offer hourly, half-day, full-day, overnight, or extended respite stays. Costs will depend on the amount of care needed; some places impose minimums and maximums on the number of days for a respite stay.
Some facilities offer respite stays only when not at full capacity, and some don’t advertise their respite services openly, so you may need to do some investigating to find a local facility that offers the service. Some places to contact for help: Go to Caring.com’s Senior Living Directory and search for assisted living facilities and nursing homes by city or zip code.
5. Caregiver Co-op
A Caregiver Co-op is an organized group of caregivers that take turns caring for one another’s loved ones and clients in exchange for some time off. The arrangement not only gives caregivers more time for themselves; it also fosters a sense of community among both those who give and receive the care. There’s usually no charge; members qualify for respite services by volunteering time caring for other co-op members’ loved ones.
Talk with neighbors or friends who have similar needs; in such cases, it is usually a good idea to have a central person charged with keeping track of the availability and scheduling of the volunteer caregivers. Or check with local community centers or adult day service providers to see if one has already started a co-op.
6. Support for Veterans
The Veterans Administration (VA) offers a number of programs and support for veterans and for some wartime veterans who are caring for their spouses — all designed to give the primary caregivers some help and time off. Many local VAs operate adult day healthcare centers, open Monday through Friday, which offer caregiver respite and focus on rehabilitation for veterans.
The VA’s home-based primary care program delivers care such as meal planning and preparation, medication management, nursing, and social services to some veterans whose medical issues make it difficult to leave home. A similar VA program, Skilled Home Care, offers this care from licensed non-VA medical professionals. The VA also provides qualified veterans with up to 30 days of respite care each year at home or through temporary placement of a veteran at a VA community living center, a VA-contracted community residential care facility, or an adult day healthcare center.
The services are generally free or offered for a minimal amount for qualifying veterans and their family members. Both a telephone hotline and website can help you in this search.
Staff at the VA’s Caregiver Support Line, available Monday through Saturday at (855) 260-3274, can explain what assistance is available from the VA and help callers get access to other local services. Also, most VA offices are staffed with licensed caregiver support coordinators who can help match callers with services for which they’re eligible. Find the local coordinator by searching by zip code on the VA’s Caregiver Support Page.
7. The ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center
The ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center helps caregivers and professionals find respite services in their local area to match their specific needs for emergency or planned respite care. Although it doesn’t provide an exhaustive list of all possible providers, it can be a helpful source in helping to jump-start a search. The service is free; the cost of respite services varies greatly. About 30 states run Lifespan Respite Programs funded by the Administration on Aging that helps fund local respite services.

With more than 6.4 million unique visitors per month, the Care.com site is one of the most highly trafficked websites in the world.
A new job is posted every 30 seconds on the platform.
Even if you aren’t looking for a dog walker, it’s hard not to appreciate the massive size of Care.com.
On the other hand, if you happen to be a dog walker, baby sitter, au pair, or any other kind of backup care provider you might be wondering how you can sign up to offer your services at Care.com.

Care as a Service
Joining the Careforce
Care. com’s entire business model relies on premium caregiving.
So it’s no surprise that their screening process for caregivers requires more than just a name and an email address.
Care.com Requirements
The sign-up process is the same for everyone on Care.com regardless of the category you select.
You’ll be asked about your relevant work experience, pay range, and any additional skills or certifications you might have that would be relevant to the job.
Whether you plan on tutoring teenagers or cleaning mansions, you will need to complete a background check before you can get started.
However, once you’ve passed the initial screening, you can start applying to jobs.
Although you do not need any previous work experience to apply to Care.com listings, it will help you stand out.
If you’re serious about joining the careforce (yes, that’s what they call it), here’s how to get started.
Step 1: Visit Care. com and select “Find Jobs” under “I want a care job”
Step 2: Choose what type of service you’ll offer
Step 3: Tell them whether your profile will represent a small business or an individual
Step 4: Fill out the sign-up form with your name, address, and contact information
Now that your account is created, they ask for a few more pieces of personal information like your phone number, a brief bio, and a background check or criminal check to verify your identity.
Also, depending on the type of care you selected on the previous screen, you’ll be asked to answer a several screening questions relating to your experience as a caregiver.
If you’d like to start getting paid as a care provider you’re probably wondering how much experience is required, if you need any certifications, and how much each category of care pays.
Categories of Care
Here is each type of care offered by Care. com to help you get a sense of the differences between them.
Many experienced caregivers might already know they want to perform senior care, for example, or certain other care, so it’s important to understand their nuances.
Childcare
Childcare is the heart and soul of Care.com.
When the platform initially launched in 2009 it was their only category.
Even though they’ve added new categories over the last decade, childcare is still the most popular service.
The average pay for childcare jobs on Care.com is $11.75 per hour in the U.S. market.
Childcare professionals don’t need any special certifications to get started, but many of the profiles we reviewed showed many years of experience, and some even had CPR certifications.
There are many identical postings for basic babysitting in childcare, so a good way to separate yourself from the pack is to specialize in certain types of care like bilingual care, or offer daycare.
Tutoring
Tutoring is the highest paying job on Care. com, but it’s not for everyone.
Despite an average pay well above minimum wage at $14.25 per hour, tutoring can be tough on brand new care providers.
If you think you’re ready to hit the books, be warned that the most successful tutors come from academic backgrounds and typically have experience teaching or tutoring.
English, math, science, and history are always in high demand, but you can also carve out a niche focusing on test prep or special needs tutoring.
Senior Care
If you were taught to respect your elders growing up then senior caregiving might be for you.
Most of the jobs listed in the senior care category don’t require much more than checking in on someone’s father, or helping Grandma get into bed.
For the right senior care provider, assisting seniors is an honor.
Although you don’t need any formal medical training for most of these jobs, experience with dementia, stroke, Alzheimer’s, and cancer patients is helpful.
At an average hourly rate of $12.75, senior care is the second most popular category on Care.com.
Pet Care
Life can be ruff if you don’t have a personal assistant to do dog walking or cat sitting when you go out of town.
Come to the aid of your furry friends and potential employers by becoming a pet sitter.
The average job pays $11 per hour, but for experienced dog trainers it’s often closer to $25.
Outside of dog training, you won’t need any special certification to get started, however, you should be comfortable around animals and love taking care of them.
Housekeeping
With the second highest average hourly pay ($13) and a very low barrier to entry, housekeeping might be the best category for beginner care providers.
You won’t need any certification or specialized training to get started, but you might need to purchase a few essential cleaning supplies before showing up for your first cleaning job.
If you find yourself falling in love with sweeping and scrubbing, then the live-in housekeeper sub-category might be perfect for you.
Special Needs Care
There’s nothing more rewarding than taking care of a special needs child.
If special needs caregiving is your calling, these jobs are for you.
Expect the average listing to pay $12.50 per hour and require your complete attention from beginning to end.
Many of the postings prefer RNs or LNAs to apply, but typically you aren’t providing medical care, just a backup care service.
Paywall
With 22 million members and counting, Care.com represents a huge opportunity for care providers — but there’s a catch.
You can’t have full access to communicate with care seekers without paying for credits.
While anyone can sign up as a service provider on Care.com for free, you can only see responses from the care seekers for jobs you’ve applied for if you pay for credits.
If you’d like to have premium access to Care.com, here’s how much the credits cost:
10 credits for $9 (only $0.90 per credit)
25 credits for $19 ($0.76 per credit — save 16 percent)
50 credits for $29 ($0.56 per credit — save 36 percent)
Pricing for each category is a little different, based on how much the different jobs pay.
Your best value is to buy 50 credits, but to just get a few jobs locked in, 25 credits is a great place to start.
There’s a loophole to get jobs without buying credits, according to Care.com’s forums.
To avoid paying the fees, you can apply to jobs and include your contact information with your application.
Several members of the forum reported getting jobs by getting in touch with care seekers over the phone.
Care as a Service
It’s easy to start your career as a caregiver with Care.com.
Although the sign-up process is the same for everyone, you’ll want to pay close attention to the specific requirements for the type of care you plan to provide.
As Care.com grows, it’s becoming easier and more profitable to make a living taking care of the people (and pets) in your neighborhood.
If you’re looking for a flexible job that makes a positive impact on the world, Care.com is for you.
Memo Fundamentals of patient care – All news
Nursing is a set of measures aimed at alleviating the patient’s condition and ensuring the success of his treatment.
It provides for:
creation of a hygienic regime,
fulfillment of all doctor’s orders,
monitoring of the patient, especially when his condition worsens.
Caring for the sick requires a lot of endurance and patience. Restrained and calm treatment has a beneficial effect on patients. All orders of the doctor must be carried out consciously, understanding what goals they are aimed at.
It is desirable for the patient to allocate a separate room or fence off part of the room with a screen.
The room must be regularly ventilated so that the air is always fresh and clean. In summer, the window or window should be open all the time, but you need to make sure that there are no drafts in the room.
Wet cleaning of the floor or furniture is carried out at least once a day. The window or window must be open at this time.
The patient’s head should be elevated. To prevent the patient from slipping, use a footrest.
The patient should not be left in the same position all the time, he should periodically turn to the other side, and, with the permission of the doctor, sit down.
The patient’s bed must be clean and fresh. Bed linen should be changed at least once a week. If the state of health allows, the bedridden patient is temporarily transferred to another bed, which makes it possible not only to change linen, but to straighten and clean the mattress.
Patient hygiene is to care for the skin, hair, nails, oral cavity, ears, eyes, perineum. Every day, morning and evening, the patient should wash his face, neck and hands with soap and water.
An important task of care is the prevention of bedsores that can appear in seriously ill patients, most often in the area of the sacrum, less often in the area of the shoulder blades, heels, occiput, buttocks and other places.
To prevent bedsores, it is necessary to change the position of the patient in bed every 2 hours. Places where bedsores are most often formed, wash with warm water and soap, and then wipe with camphor alcohol.
Properly organized nutrition of the patient in accordance with the doctor’s recommendations not only satisfies the body’s need for nutrients, but also is a means of actively influencing the course of the disease. For this purpose, a
therapeutic nutrition system has been developed, diets of various types, the principles of which should be used at home.
When organizing the nutrition of patients, attention should be paid to the following factors:0007
selection of food products,
nature of cooking,
time, frequency and methods of eating.
Food should be given in small portions and with sufficient pauses to enable the patient to chew it well. Drinking must be served from a drinking bowl.
If the patient is in bed for a long time and cannot, for some reason, take hygienic baths, care for his skin should be especially thorough, especially when caring for the sick and the elderly. Their skin should be wiped regularly with a damp towel or disinfectant solution, such as cologne, camphor alcohol, table vinegar, a mixture of equal parts alcohol and water. When wiping with a towel soaked in such a solution, wipe the skin behind the ears, then wipe the neck, back, armpits and chest. In overweight women, special attention should be paid to the folds under the breasts, where diaper rash often forms. After wiping, wipe the skin dry in the same order.
According to the GBOU Educational and Methodological Center for Civil Defense of the Orenburg Region
General care for patients – features of patient care
General care for the patient is one of the main conditions for a speedy recovery. 50 percent of the success of treatment depends on how well the patient care activities were organized.
What is sick care?
In everyday life, care in the medical sense is understood to meet the basic needs of a sick person and provide assistance to him. Basic needs are food and drink, cleanliness, accessible physical activity, emptying of the bladder and bowels.
Care involves creating comfortable conditions for the patient at home or in a hospital, which would include a calm psychological environment, a clean comfortable bed, regular change of linen.
In addition to general care, special care is distinguished, which may differ depending on the type of disease. It has its own characteristics in the care of postoperative patients, for seriously ill, oncological, cardiovascular and other diseases.
Fundamentals of General Nursing
The organization of care largely depends on where the patient is undergoing treatment or rehabilitation – at home or in a hospital setting. But in both cases, a number of general principles apply:
The doctor organizes and supervises care, who gives detailed instructions regarding medication, diet, and physical activity.
Nurses, nurses, relatives of the patient provide care for the sick.
Compliance with the medical and protective regime, which is the key to peace and comfort of the patient. This implies a careful attitude to the patient’s personality, strict implementation of the doctor’s recommendations regarding the regimen, physical activity, and nutrition.
Maintaining a sanitary and hygienic regime, including a set of measures aimed at preventing the occurrence and spread of infections.
It is important to provide the patient with the possibility of independent action. This has a beneficial effect on the patient’s well-being and mood, gives the patient confidence and strength. The simplest tasks – turn on / off the light of a table lamp, take a book from the bedside table – can significantly improve the situation and mood of the patient.

What activities does general care include?
As part of general care, activities are performed that are necessary for patients of all categories, regardless of the nature of the disease:
Taking medications according to prescriptions issued by the attending physician.
Organization of proper and timely nutrition. If necessary, assist the patient in eating.
Monitoring compliance with the regime of the day: the duration of sleep, the time of rising, wakefulness and going to bed. The patient’s regimen can be strict, involving a constant stay in bed in a horizontal position, or half-bed, as well as general, in no way restricting the patient’s movement.
Regular wet cleaning of the room in which the patient is located.
Making a comfortable bed.
Assistance in the implementation of hygiene procedures – washing, brushing your teeth, washing your hair. Hands should be washed before each meal, feet – 2-3 times a week. A full bath or shower – once a week.
Relief of the suffering of the patient, instilling in him the desire to fight the disease.
Observation of the functioning of the body, measurement of temperature, pressure, pulse, etc.
Prevention of complications such as bedsores, pneumonia, contractures.
Peculiarities of general care for elderly and aged patients
Age-related changes in the body worsen the functioning of all systems and organs: the acuity of hearing and vision decreases, the skin becomes less elastic. And the diseases themselves are generally more difficult to tolerate, often not just one disease is diagnosed, but a whole “bunch”, the likelihood of complications is high. In this case, the symptoms are blurred, difficult to diagnose.
Drug therapy
The effect of drugs on elderly patients is weaker and less effective. The dispensing of medicines requires caregivers to be very careful. You can not give medicines for the whole day, use complex explanations to explain their principle of action. Elderly patients are often disoriented in time and space and can easily confuse or forget information received.
The importance of the medical and protective regimen
For patients who are elderly and elderly, it is extremely important to maintain a sleep-wake schedule. Timely rest is of fundamental importance and its absence can render all drug therapy useless. Often, “age” patients suffer from insomnia, provoked by frequent urination. In this case, care should be taken to ensure that a ship is located next to the bed at night.
Skincare
This item is of fundamental importance not only in the organization of care for the elderly, but also for bedridden patients. Violations of blood microcirculation can lead to pathological processes – the formation of eczema, bedsores, diabetic foot, etc. Soft natural fabrics should be used for clothes and underwear, soften dry areas of the skin with creams and oils, do not skip washing the patient.
Departure of natural needs
One of the most delicate moments is helping an elderly patient with the body’s natural needs. Often diseases of elderly patients entail frequent urination, bowel dysfunction, leading to constipation. Putting enemas in such cases is not recommended. It is preferable to regulate the stool with nutrition: include foods that have a laxative effect – prunes, beets, apples. Laxative collections of medicinal herbs help well.
Fight against physical inactivity
A sedentary lifestyle that many elderly patients lead has a negative effect on health and general well-being.

What documents are needed to work as a nanny: a list of what is important to know
Today it has become popular to hire a nanny to care for a minor child. Many parents leave their beloved child with a stranger in order not to lose a good job, to receive stable money to support the family, or to build their own business, which they have to spend almost all their time on.
A nanny cannot replace the parents, but if this specialist is really a good professional, he will give the child everything that is necessary for his growth, development and proper upbringing. The main thing is not to make a mistake in choosing a candidate for this position. And first of all, when choosing a nanny for a child, you should carefully check her documents.
In the article, we will consider information about what documents you need to check with a nanny for a child at the first meeting, what must be available, which is important to consider when viewing.
List of basic documents for babysitting
It is very difficult to assess the professionalism and adequacy of an employee at the first meeting. Each potential candidate for a vacant position tries to present his candidacy in the best possible light. To verify the competence of an employee, you need to ask him to present some documents, on the basis of which the employer will be able to draw certain conclusions. Which documents should be checked first:
passport;
medical book;
work book;
certificate of no criminal record;
education documents.
Additional documents
The list of additional documents that will also be useful for the employer to study includes letters of recommendation and other papers that characterize a person. These can be gratitude from previous jobs, portfolios, certificates and other documents that increase the competence and level of confidence in the applicant.
What is important to pay attention to when checking documents
It is necessary to check the documents of a person applying for the position of a nanny for a child with special care. Let’s take a look at the details that matter the most.
Passport
More on the topic:
Passport is the main identity document of a citizen. It is better to hire a nanny who has Russian citizenship and registration at the place of residence, or at least a valid residence permit with a work permit.
If a person lives in Russia illegally, it is better for the employer to refuse employment, because in the future there may be problems with representatives of the authorities.
Medical book, certificates
A child should be trusted by a healthy person who does not have potentially dangerous chronic, viral, infectious and mental diseases. To make sure that the chosen candidate will not pose a threat to the child, a medical book or certificates from medical institutions will help, which contains information about the physical and mental health of the applicant.
If there are no medical documents, ask the candidate for the position of a nanny for a child to undergo a small examination and take tests. Be sure to check the results of fluorography, the conclusion from the narcologist and psychiatrist.
Certificate of no criminal record
Feel free to ask a potential nanny for a certificate of no criminal record. This is a very important document on the basis of which parents can make the right decision. Needless to say, few families are ready to entrust a minor child to a person with a criminal record. This is a completely justified decision, because no one can guarantee the safety of a baby who is under the supervision of a previously convicted nanny.
Documents on education
For the position of a nanny for a child, applicants with a pedagogical education are best suited. You can also entrust the baby to a woman with a good reputation, who has an official certificate of passing special courses on the methodology of child development. It all depends on the individual requirements of parents choosing a nanny for their child.
If a job seeker with professional experience has approached you, also ask her to present a work book.
Recommendations
Letters of recommendation from a previous job can tell a lot about a person. If the applicant does not have such documents, but according to her she had a good reputation and experience in her previous job, ask to indicate in the questionnaire the contact details of the employer who can confirm the accuracy of the information provided about the competence.
Parents should not hesitate to request all the necessary documents from a person who wants to be employed as a nanny for a child. Moreover, you can make copies of verified documents and save them, because they can come in handy in any unforeseen situation.
You cannot trust the most precious thing to a stranger without having any idea and useful information about him. If a potential applicant is not ready to present documents at the request of the employer, then there is reason to think about whether it is worth hiring such a person or whether it is better to look for a nanny for a child among other candidates for this position.

Choosing a nanny is an extremely responsible and difficult task for every parent. You trust this person with the most valuable thing – the comfort and safety of your child. This complicates the task so much that many parents are lost and do not know where to start when they need to hire a nanny for their child. It is possible to assess the competence and personal qualities of a candidate only during a personal interview, so the main thing for parents is to prepare a number of correct questions. Actress Tatyana Abramenko told proaist.ru about what points you should definitely check with the nanny before hiring. Tatyana is a happy mother of two daughters and knows almost everything about raising children and caring for them.
First of all, of course, the candidate for the role of a nanny should be asked about education and asked to provide supporting documents. Caring for a child, participating in his education and the formation of correct life principles for him is a whole science, and the presence of special education in this matter is mandatory. To give a child all the necessary care and do it right, you need to have sufficient knowledge in various fields, such as psychology and pediatrics, so I would recommend hiring a nanny only with the appropriate education.
Then you need to talk to the nanny about her family – this is one of the key points in determining competence. Of course, preference should be given to those candidates who themselves have children, in which case they will be with a fairly broad understanding of the profession than those who have not raised their own children.
Be sure to ask in detail about previous jobs. Specify what difficulties you had to face in the process of work, whether there were any misunderstandings with your parents and for what reason the nanny no longer works with them. Feel free to ask the nanny to share the contacts of the parents she used to work for so you can call them and get feedback.
You should also ask if she has bad habits, since a child, even at a very young age, should in no case see a bad example in his environment.
During the interview, be sure to introduce the nanny to the child and see how well she can connect with him. I must say that not all children are ready to immediately open up to a new person, and some may even rebel against being looked after by a stranger. Based on this, you should not expect only positive manifestations from the child when meeting. What needs to be done is to evaluate how patient and kind a nanny can be with your child.
During a conversation with a candidate, you should not only ask all the necessary questions and request documents, but also evaluate the communication style and inner qualities of the potential nanny. The future nanny of your child should be polite, friendly, calm and evoke only positive emotions in you and the child. Even if you have all the necessary skills, education and successful work experience, if the nanny does not leave a pleasant impression, I would not advise you to approve her candidacy.

Mission
First Step Academy Too is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, child- centered environment with a high-quality educational program that served diverse children irrespective of race, religion, gender, or socioeconomic background.
Vision
In a nurturing and child-centered environment, First Step Academy Too seeks to help ensure its children’s future success by helping them take “the first step” in becoming respectful,
responsible.
Philosophy
At First Step Academy Too , we believe that early education is very important; and children
who are not involved in early education stand a great risk of falling behind by the time they start
kindergarten.
Your Little Hands Are In Great Hands!
Take it from our Parents
I want to start off by saying I give Jennifer’s center five starts and highly recommend her and her teachers. I enrolled my first kiddo just before he turned two, we were nervous as he’d been in care of his grandma while his dad and I worked up until that point. The way I found Jennifer’s center was so random and unexpected but I’m so thankful I did. Not only did we enroll our first son, but we also enrolled our newborn 8 week old son a year later. I trusted Jennifer and her ways of running the center. We felt welcomed and I felt my kids were truly taken care of and loved. We weren’t a super “easy” or laid back family to deal with (first time parents, breastfed babies, reusable diapers, and anything else that would require extra steps). They went ABOVE and BEYOND. My kids were so incredibly comfortable with her and I adore her. I am so grateful my family was under her care for over 3 total years.
Brianna, mom of two sons.
My kiddos have been going to “Mrs. Jennifer’s” for several years now. They love it – and so do I. As a parent, I know how hard it is to trust someone with your kids. From Day 1, I felt that the director, Jennifer Othmani, was knowledgeable, dependable, caring, and trustworthy. I feel good every time I leave my kids in the care of her and the staff at First Step Academy. And they always come home with smiles on their faces!

First Step Academy Too came highly recommended by a friend. From day one, Jennifer Gatewood and the rest of the First Step Academy Too family have shown our two children kindness, personal attention, and nurturing with an emphasis on independence in their daily routines. Our girls excitedly look forward to attending and return home having learned new skills and chattering about the adventures they had each day. FSAT has an engaged staff and we attribute this to Jennifer’s leadership and guidance. Transitioning to school was made easy due to the structure and programs offered at FSAT and it’s a great comfort that we continue to be a part of the FSAT family by returning during holiday and summer breaks.
Thank you, First Step Academy Too, for giving our children a warm, welcoming, and creative home away from home. We are grateful to be able to return to work while knowing our girls are nurtured, happy, and learning in your care.
The Beaulieu Family
My daughter previously attended First Step Academy Too. She went part time before elementary school to get some interaction with other children her age. She had the best time, made great friends, and learned so much. She is currently in 1st grade and still uses great habits that she learned from her time there. We love First Step and the director!

A “kindergarten” for the elderly was opened in Murom
11/21/2019
(Murom)
The Murom Comprehensive Social Services Center launched the first day care department for the elderly and disabled in the region. The governor took part in the grand opening.
“Recreation room. Here they spend their leisure time. They are being creative.” – “Wow … Chess.” – “And they pass a master class on scrapbooking, Who plays checkers, chess.”
Spacious and bright room for communication. Here you feel at home: comfortable furniture, and now a huge plasma TV, which was a gift from the governor. Pensioners here do whatever they want: they assemble sailboats from puzzles, embroider, and if they wish, they can organize dances.
Valentina Knysh, culturologist: “We ask them what they like, what they don’t, and we try to match them to their taste. We have board games, and literary evenings, and musical evenings, and dance evenings. ”
Tamara Kalugina, pensioner: “We are very happy. We liked it here so much. I’m sitting here, and they are playing. Here’s a poem I wrote. How good it is for us in this house – cozy, bright and beautiful, with sincere and intelligent people. Everything is nice, clean, modern. Nearly top notch. We sing, we draw, we embroider. We read new verses. From this luxury happiness – we do not want to leave.
Social activists gave the second name to this department – “kindergarten for the elderly”. The elderly can count not only on entertaining leisure, but also on two meals a day, walks in the fresh air, healthy sleep in the rest room, and even the help of a psychologist.
“It’s important to always talk. Talk about the problem, consult a psychologist. Especially when it’s like this.” – Aromatherapy. “Oh, we almost fell asleep here.” “Yes (haha). Also good. This means that everything is calm in life.”
The Department operates a “School of Nursing”. Local specialists can teach relatives of seriously ill people how to properly care for them. Training takes place on Gosh. Extremely convenient to use: the tongue is removed, the ears are removed, the arms and legs move.
“They put him on a pillow. A napkin is placed under his head so that he does not rub his neck. And now you can wash your hair.”
By the end of the year, the department plans to receive up to 30 first visitors. Absolutely free of charge, relatives will be able to bring their loved ones here who need supervision and care for the whole day. Director of the Department of Social Protection Lyubov Kukushkina promised that the department’s specialists could organize the delivery of the elderly on their own.
Vladimir Sipyagin, governor of the region: “This is the removal of a certain load for those who work and do not have the physical ability to help their loved ones. And in this center, classes are held, and comfortable conditions, and sports, and a psychologist. I want to congratulate the people of Murom on the opening of this center and wish them longevity, health, success and, of course, mutual understanding of loved ones. ”
“That’s how life goes round and round. Years rush to each other. The year and century are filled with joy and hope. And on a bright autumn day, accept our gifts, our elderly beloved, our kind person.
In the coming years, the leadership of the regional administration plans to open 7 more similar branches in other cities of the region.

History of children’s and youth movement in Russia
June 7, 2022, 17:03
TASS-DOSIER. On July 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to head the Supervisory Board of the Russian Children and Youth Movement. TASS has prepared material on the history of the children’s and youth movement in Russia. In the Russian Empire, as in the world, it began with scouting.
The scouting movement in the world
The scouting movement (or scouting, from the English “intelligence”) first arose in England07 year. Its founder was an English public figure, Colonel Robert Baden-Powell, who during the Boer War of 1899-1902 noticed that young boys fought on it no worse than adults and were especially useful in intelligence. As conceived by Baden-Powell, “young scouts” had to be educated from school age, and even if they did not fight, active outdoor activities would be useful for their development.
The movement quickly spread throughout the world, Scout units appeared in the USA, Germany, France and other countries of Western Europe, as well as in Australia. Soon, similar organizations began to appear, where girls were also accepted.
Scouting organizations used a system of game education: children learned how to survive in the wild, participated in tactical games, hikes. The educational system was called pioneering (from the English “pioneer”), after the title of the novel of the same name by Fenimore Cooper “Pioneers” about the life of the first settlers in North America. The lily (shamrock) has become a symbol of the scouting movement, the three ends of which represent the elements of the scout oath: duty to God and the motherland, help to others.
More than 50 million children are currently participating in the Scouting movement around the world.
Scouts in Russia
Colonel Oleg Pantyukhov became the founder of Russian scouting. On April 30, 1909, in Pavlovsk near St. Petersburg, he created one of the first Russian scout patrols called “Beavers”.
In 1915, the First Congress of Scoutmasters and Scouting Figures was held, which gave further development to the movement in Russia. Interest in scouting gradually grew, units were organized in many cities. By the end of 19For 17 years, there were about 50,000 scouts in Russia in 143 cities. Their motto was the call “Be ready!”. Boys (Boy Scouts) and girls (Girl Scouts) from the age of 12, of any social class or creed, were accepted into the squads.
After the October Revolution of 1917, the scouting movement in Russia was banned.
Pioneer movement in the RSFSR and the USSR
The prohibition of scouting in Soviet Russia required the creation of an alternative movement with the aim of educating future members of the communist society. February 19At the age of 22, the Moscow City Pioneer Organization was established.
On May 19, 1922, at the II All-Russian Conference of the Russian Communist Union of the Komsomol (RKSM, in 1926-1991 – the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union, Komsomol), a decision was made to create pioneer detachments everywhere and unite them into the All-Russian Children’s Communist Organization “Young Pioneers named after Spartacus. In 1924, after the death of the leader of the USSR Vladimir Lenin, the children’s organization was named after him. From 19For 26 years, it was called the All-Union Pioneer Organization. V. I. Lenin.
Nadezhda Krupskaya, the wife of Vladimir Lenin, and Innokenty Zhukov, a teacher and ideologist of Russian scouting, stood at the origins of the pioneer movement. It was Zhukov who proposed calling the new children’s organization pioneer, introducing the Scout motto “Be ready!”, and developing game forms of educational work with children. From the scouts, the pioneer movement adopted the structure (detachments), the institution of leaders, elements of symbolism – a red tie and a badge (instead of three petals of a lily, three tongues of flame were depicted on it).
During the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, a mass “Timur movement” (named after the hero of Arkady Gaidar’s story “Timur and his team”) unfolded. Children helped the families of front-line soldiers, were on duty in hospitals, worked at factories and collective farms. Many pioneers participated in hostilities, fought in partisan detachments. More than 20,000 “young Leninists” were awarded the medal “For the Defense of Moscow”. It is believed that six pioneers were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union: Lenya Golikov, Marat Kazei, Valya Kotik, Zina Portnova, Shura Chekalin and Borya Tsarikov. However, of these, only Marat Kazei and Valya Kotik were members of the pioneer organization at the time of the feat. The rest were older than the age limit of 15 for pioneers, and Portnova and Tsarikov were already members of the Komsomol organization. However, the names of all six Heroes of the Soviet Union were included in the Book of Honor of the All-Union Pioneer Organization. V. I. Lenin.
The Pioneer organization was the largest of the children’s associations in the Soviet Union. By 1980, it united over 19 million schoolchildren, it owned 28 newspapers and 40 magazines (the most popular was Pionerskaya Pravda, published since 1925). In the USSR, there were more than 3,500 palaces and houses of pioneers and schoolchildren, more than 900 stations for young naturalists, and more than 7,500 suburban pioneer camps. Paramilitary games “Zarnitsa”, “Eaglet”, “Marches of Pioneer Detachments”, all-Union reviews and others were held. For those who distinguished themselves in work, study and sports, there were various incentives, including entry into the Book of Honor, trips to the pioneer camps “Artek” (now the international children’s center) and “Eaglet” (now the All-Russian children’s center). Throughout the history of the organization, since 1922 years to 1990, over 210 million people were in its ranks.
Children’s organizations since 1990
On October 1, 1990, at the X All-Union Pioneers’ Gathering in Artek, it was announced that the All-Union Pioneer Organization named after I. V. I. Lenin. Its successor was the International Union of Children’s Public Associations “Union of Pioneer Organizations – Federation of Children’s Organizations” (SPO-FDO) created at the same congress. The Union was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in 1992 as a non-governmental public organization, independent of political parties and movements. Members of SPO-FDO are 79children’s public associations, including those from nine foreign countries, one all-Russian association, one interregional and 65 regional children’s organizations and associations from 48 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
On March 14, 1992, the Moscow City Pioneer Organization (MGPO) was revived as an independent children’s public association. At present, the MGPO includes about 40 territorial formations, squads, detachments and groups of pioneers, which operate in almost all administrative districts of the capital.
Russian Movement of Schoolchildren
On October 29, 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of the all-Russian public and state children’s and youth organization “Russian Movement of Schoolchildren” (RDSH). Its goal is “improving the state policy in the field of educating the younger generation and promoting the formation of personality on the basis of the system of values inherent in Russian society. ”
The founding congress of the RDS took place on March 28, 2016 in Moscow. Currently, in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation there are regional branches of the organization, uniting more than 400 local and more than 8 thousand primary branches. More than 2 million people take part in the Russian movement of schoolchildren.
“Yunarmiya”
In 2016, on the initiative of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu, the All-Russian youth military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya” was created. This idea was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The founding meeting of the Yunarmiya took place on May 28, 2016 in the Moscow region. Regional headquarters of the movement operate in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In total, more than 1 million children and adolescents have joined the Yunarmiya so far.
The idea of a new children’s association
On April 20, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting of the Supervisory Board of the autonomous non-profit organization “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” in the Catherine’s Hall of the Kremlin. At the meeting, a student of the 7th grade of secondary school No. 54 of Sevastopol, Diana Krasovskaya, participating in the All-Russian competition “Big Change” in 2021, spoke about the “Helping Hand” campaign for the children of Donbass, organized throughout Russia with other guys from the “Big Change”, and proposed to create “a common children’s movement that would unite us all.” The President called the idea a good one and agreed that “we can think about it.”
On May 19, 2022, the draft law “On the Russian movement of children and youth “Big Change” was submitted to the State Duma. The authors of the initiative were representatives of all political factions of the lower house, as well as senators of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. According to the draft document, the participants in this “public-state of the all-Russian movement” can be schoolchildren from six years old, as well as students of colleges and technical schools. The organization of their education and leisure will be carried out by adult mentors who will also take part in the movement. The goals of the “Big Change” will be to promote the implementation of state policy in the interests of children and youth, education of children, their professional orientation and organization of leisure, creation of opportunities for their comprehensive development and self-realization.0003
The head of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, Lilia Gumerova, commenting on the proposed bill, said that the “Big Change” will incorporate all the best of those associations that already exist, including the study and use of the positive experience of the All-Union Pioneer organizations. According to her, now there are almost 18 million schoolchildren in Russia, and the Russian children’s movement should become the largest in terms of size and coverage of children. On July 6, the law was adopted by the State Duma.

20 years ago, US Secretary of State Colin Powell presented to the UN Security Council “the most expensive test tube in the history of mankind. ” It was shown during a report on weapons of mass destruction that Iraq allegedly had. This report became the rationale for a full-scale invasion and cost, according to Donald Trump, $ 7 trillion and millions of human lives. Read more about the events of 2003 in the material of the correspondent of “Vesti FM” Alexander Elshevsky.
With a confident step, the first black US Secretary of State Colin Powell entered the meeting of the UN Security Council. On February 5, 2003, he was to read a report proving that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, both chemical and biological. With him, he brought a test tube with a certain substance to demonstrate it to the audience. Here is the full excerpt from that part of Powell’s speech.
POWELL : When Iraq finally admitted having these weapons at 1995, its number was huge. Less than a teaspoon of dry anthrax, just about that amount in a test tube, that’s about a teaspoon, even less, in an envelope, the US Senate closed in the fall of 2001. Then they forced several hundred people to undergo emergency medical treatment and this killed two postal employees. Only from the amount that was in this test tube, and it was in that envelope. Iraq claimed 8,500 liters of anthrax, but it is estimated that Saddam Hussein could have produced 25,000 liters. If concentrated in this dry form, this amount will be enough to fill tens, tens and tens of thousands of teaspoons.
A few days earlier, US President George W. Bush met with British Prime Minister Tony Blair. At this meeting, the head of the White House said that the United States is ready to use all available means and “twist the hands of the UN” in order to obtain the Security Council resolution necessary to start the invasion. Moreover, Bush stressed, a military campaign could begin even in the absence of such a resolution. David Manning kept a secret protocol as chief adviser to the head of the cabinet, and it says that Bush wants to start bombing Iraq as early as March 10th.
Two US-British-Spanish UN Security Council draft resolutions authorizing the use of force against Iraq were not adopted. And such permanent members of the Security Council as Russia, France and China have declared that they will block any draft resolution that could automatically lead to the outbreak of war. Germany also supported them. Tony Blair told members of the British Parliament that the UK is “ready to go all the way to achieve a peaceful solution to the conflict.”
But the US gave Saddam an ultimatum: to resign before March 20 and leave the country with his sons. When the ultimatum expired, 4 US and British divisions, with air support, launched an invasion of Iraq.
A month and a half later, Saddam Hussein’s army was actually defeated, and the country plunged into anarchy with small green zones controlled by the occupation administration. Opinion Research Business conducted research and calculated that by 2008, the victims of this war were from 946,000 to 1,120,000 Iraqi civilians who were killed directly by coalition soldiers in the conflict, who died as a result of the destruction of the healthcare system, anarchy and rampant paramilitaries. American experts give an estimate ten times lower.
Dozens of monuments of ancient civilizations of Sumer and Babylon were damaged or destroyed. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, 130,000 cultural and historical objects were taken out of the country, 90,000 of them ended up in the United States.
The London Guardian in 2008 published excerpts from a book about the Iraq War by Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz, chief economist at the World Bank. According to his calculations, only the first 10 days of hostilities in 2003 cost the United States 5.5 billion dollars. He suggested that direct and indirect losses from this war would cost humanity trillions of dollars.
As a result, there is no reliable information about chemical weapons found in Iraq. About 500 old shells were found containing mustard gas and sarin, chemical warfare agents invented before World War II. But even American experts have recognized that they are unsuitable for use.
No evidence of a nuclear program in Iraq has been found. American diplomat Joseph Wilson investigated the allegation that Iraq was buying uranium for nuclear weapons production from Niger and reported that it was unsubstantiated.
No traces of biological weapons of mass destruction were found either. The microbiologist researcher Khudu Salih Mahdi Ammash, who was accused of developing Iraqi biological weapons and was imprisoned after the arrival of the Americans, was then quietly released: there was nothing against her.
Iraqi dissident and defector Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Yanabi, whose testimony that Saddam Hussein was building bioweapons was included in Colin Powell’s report, admitted to making up the whole story from beginning to end.
An independent investigation by former senior British Home Office official Sir John Chilcot found in 2009 that the evidence presented by intelligence that there were chemical weapons in Iraq was simply fabricated. In their assessments, MI6 officials relied on a source who claimed that Iraq was rapidly producing chemical and biological weapons and storing them in glass containers. According to Chilcot, the methods of storing chemical weapons mentioned in the intelligence documents – in glass containers – are surprising and very similar to those shown in the movie 19’96 “The Rock” directed by Michael Bay.
Twelve years after the start of the war, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair apologized for invading Iraq on the basis of erroneous intelligence, but still claimed that Iraq benefited from it.
BLAIR : Anyway, I can say that I apologize that the intelligence we received was wrong. Because even though he used chemical weapons on a large scale against his own population and others, his program in the form in which we thought about it did not exist. So for that I can apologize. And also, by the way, I can apologize for some mistakes in planning and, of course, for our misunderstanding of what happens when the regime falls. But it’s hard for me to apologize for the removal of Hussein. Even against the background of what is happening now, in 2015, it is better there than if he had remained in power.

TIPS
PACKING A BUTTERFLY PACK
Weather-appropriate clothing and seal-able bags:
A:No matter what the age, every little one should come prepared with spare clothes, seasonal wear, bibs, under wear and burp cloths. Accidents and spit-ups happen, so don’t leave your precious cargo without backup. Be uber-prepared by including plastic bags with a seal for those soiled clothes, especially during potty training. For babies, this includes swaddling blankets. Older little ones will need sunblock, swimsuits if your facility offers water play and jackets for colder weather. “I always include an extra layer like a hoodie or sweater, healthy snacks and a blanket from home for his nap,” said Maria.
Diapers:
A:If your kids are still in diapers, be sure you send enough diapers, wipes and diaper rash cream to cover a change every two hours. You may be able to leave a full week’s worth in the classroom, but always arm your kids’ backpacks with emergency coverage.
Food and nutrition:
A:What to bring depends on the age and needs of each child. Pack enough formula, breastmilk and/or baby food, plus a little extra just in case, to get your baby through the day. Include sippy cups and baby/finger foods for older little ones.
Comfort items and medicine:
A:Whether it’s medicine for teething, allergies or pain/fever, be sure your childcare provider has it and knows how to use it. Pack that blankie, pacifier, teether and/or stuffed animal with the typically required crib sheet and blanket for nap time to ensure your little one isn’t stressed when it’s time to wind down.
What not to pack:
Toys: It’s too hard to keep track of who brought what toys brought from home, and many kids at this age don’t know how to share…Let’s eliminate tears, it’s better to leave these at home. If children need their loveys to sleep with, these items can stay in backpacks until nap time. We never allow play guns, water guns included.
Junk food behind: The other kids get really upset when they see a kid with a cupcake, cookie, etc. and cannot have one for themselves. Either try to bring these special snacks for everyone or send in healthy snacks so others don’t get upset.
Fancy clothes: Leave plastic and dress up shoes at home. Please let kids wear shoes they can run and play in. Save dressy clothes for church as kids in daycare can get really messy.
Medication: Though not a leave-at-home item, it’s important that no medications or vitamins are left in lunch bags or backpacks. Other kids may get a hold of them. Please label all medications and give directly to the teacher with proper documentation completed and they will be stored and administered appropriately.
Sharp objects: Parents know kids shouldn’t bring sharp objects to daycare, but sometimes children still slip them into their bags. Talk to your kids about the dangers of sharp objects such as scissors and craft-kit tools. Little Butterflies Learning Center does a great job with our safety and security policies.

Deferment from conscription for the mobilization of a citizen who is constantly taking care of his father, mother, other relative in need of care for health reasons
Law.Ru – officially registered media. Link to this article: Mirolyubova S.Yu. Features of deferment from military service for the mobilization of a citizen who is busy constantly caring for his father, mother, other relative in need of care for health reasons father, mother, other relative in need of care for health reasons [Electronic resource] // Zakon.ru. 2022.29September. URL: https://zakon.ru/blog/2022/9/29/osobennosti_otsrochki_ot_prizyva_na_voennuyu_sluzhbu_po_mobilizacii_grazhdanam_kotorye_zanyaty_posto
Judicial practice on conscription for military service lies in a different plane. It is possible that the courts, when resolving issues related to mobilization, will begin to make decisions based on judicial practice on military conscription. This point is controversial, especially in criminal cases.
Clause 3 Part 1 Art. 18 of the Federal Law “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation”: Deferment from conscription for military service for mobilization is granted to citizens: grandmother or adoptive parent who, for health reasons, in accordance with the conclusion of the federal institution of medical and social expertise in , permanent outside care (assistance, supervision) or who are disabled of group I, in the absence of other persons obliged by law contain specified citizens.
If you carefully read paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Art. 18 of the Federal Law “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation”, you can see that in this paragraph there are two concepts “permanent care” and “maintenance” .
It is important to note that care has two essential characteristics. Care must be foreign and permanent . This indicates the severity of the state of health of the person who needs constant care and is not able to serve himself on his own.
The second important point is that at the time of receipt of the summons, citizen must already be busy caring for a father, mother, wife, husband, sibling, sister, grandfather, grandmother or adoptive parent who, for health reasons, need constant leaving. Considering that the recognition of a person in need of constant care and the receipt of a disability group is not so quick (on average, it takes 4-6 months), then the situation when a summons arrives, and the recognition of a person in need of constant care is still in the process, normative acts not settled. Apparently, this situation should be solved individually in each case.
It should be noted that paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Art. 18 of Law No. 31-FZ narrows the circle of persons who are constantly cared for by a citizen who is subject to conscription for military service for mobilization in order to receive a deferment. According to the current legislation, permanent care can be provided for any person who needs such constant care. In the event of a call-up of a citizen for military service on mobilization who provides permanent care for another person (persons) in need of such care for health reasons, the question remains open who will continue to provide constant care for this person (persons)? obviously the situation of such a person is significantly worsening.
“Permanent care” and “maintenance” are completely different concepts. of the RF IC (Article 89, etc.) speaks of maintenance obligations, that is, it is precisely about the maintenance of a needy family member (former family member). And permanent care is a socio-medical term. They cannot be mixed. And the fact that in paragraph 3 of part 1 of Art. 18 of Law No. 31-FZ specifies different concepts of “care” and “maintenance” not by chance, however, the wording of this paragraph of the Law needs to be clarified. It is possible that judicial practice will reach the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, since according to the law or by a court decision, one can be forced to support a family member, relative, but one cannot be forced to take constant care of a family member (relative). This is a moral and social obligation that a person takes on voluntarily.
If we rely on the definitions from paragraph 5 of the Order of the Ministry of Labor of Russia dated September 29, 2020 N 667, then: in order to ensure comfortable and safe living conditions, preserve (maintain) independence and reduce dependence on outside help of such citizens, their integration into society;
3) care – a set of actions for servicing citizens in need of outside care, taking into account their individual needs, structure and degree of disability, health status, psychophysical characteristics, preferences, rehabilitation potential and other available resources that provide optimal conditions for comfortable and safe life, supporting their health and independence, as well as contributing to a favorable course of life, preventing possible adverse situations, fulfilling medical recommendations and prescriptions based on respect for human and civil rights, respect for the individual and preventing the humiliation of the honor and dignity of a person;
4) citizens in need of outside care – elderly citizens and disabled people, including citizens with mental disorders, recognized in the prescribed manner as needing social services due to the complete or partial loss of the ability or ability to carry out self-service, move independently, provide basic necessities of life due to illness, injury, age or disability;
5) caregivers – citizens who, on the basis of family, neighborly or friendly ties, care for citizens in need of outside care.
The provisions of chapters 14 and 1 5 of the RF IC (maintenance obligations), in my opinion, are not applicable when resolving issues of permanent care in accordance with clause 3, part 1, art. 18 of Law No. 31-FZ. The obligation to pay alimony and financial maintenance by law or a court decision is not equal to the obligation to provide permanent care. Yes, it is possible to oblige to support financially and pay alimony by law and by a court decision. But it is impossible, by a court decision, to force a family member or other person, for example, to take care of a lying patient and carry out a vessel for him. Often, physical strength is needed to lift a person, turn them over, and a retired wife is unable to do this. It can only be a man, and not alone. It should be especially noted that the help of social workers is limited and is not associated with physical efforts, for example, turning over, washing a bedridden patient, etc., they should not.
Thus, in the example of the appeal ruling of the Yaroslavl Regional Court of December 19, 2014 in case N 33 -7146/2014 Court’s reference to Art. 31 of the RF IC is not consistent, since Art. 31 of the RF IC is of a moral nature . In addition, a retired wife herself may not be able to care for her husband, who needs constant care, for health reasons. For example, unable to keep a running away spouse with dementia. Lawyers and lawyers who personally encountered (cared for) people who need constant care can help people in resolving these issues. Roughly speaking, if a person did not lift a bedridden patient, did not see bedsores, or did not restrain a person with dementia who breaks out of an apartment, smears feces on the walls, etc., then he simply does not understand what he is talking about, and just like a judge of the Yaroslavl Regional Court will refer to Art. 31 of the Family Code, speaking theoretically, not understanding the reality of the life of a particular family. Therefore, we need examinations of doctors, the conclusions of a medical and social examination, where all this is indicated.
In addition, the fact of confirmation of permanent care for a father, mother, wife, husband, sibling, sister, grandfather, grandmother or adoptive parent who, for health reasons, needs constant care, is registration with such a person in the same apartment or actual residence, confirmed, for example, by medical documents. For example, when a person in need of constant care lives without registration in the apartment of his son, brother, who provides him with constant care. The fact of such residence can be confirmed by medical documents, having previously re-registered the health insurance policy at the actual place of residence. Or certificate f. No. 9also confirms the fact of cohabitation of the citizen who cares and the person who needs constant care.
Supplement:
The Directive of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation dated October 4 No. 315/2/3658 “Procedure for granting citizens a deferment from conscription for mobilization” states that the deferral in accordance with paragraph 3 of part 1 of Art. 18 of Law No. 31-FZ, is provided on the basis of, among other things, the conclusion of a medical and social examination on disability. But the ITU Bureau does not give a conclusion on disability!
In accordance with Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of April 5, 2022 No. 588 “On Recognizing a Person as Disabled”, an Act is drawn up during a medical and social examination to recognize a person as disabled.
In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia dated November 24, 2010 No. 1031n “On the forms of a certificate confirming the fact of the establishment of disability and an extract from the certificate of examination of a citizen recognized as disabled, issued by federal state institutions of medical and social expertise, and the procedure for compiling them” (together with the “Procedure for compiling forms of a certificate confirming the fact of establishing disability and an extract from the certificate of examination of a citizen recognized as disabled, issued by federal state institutions of medical and social expertise”), the fact of establishing disability is confirmed by a certificate, the established form and an extract from the Certificate of examination of a citizen recognized as disabled.
Not only did the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation include grounds for deferment of mobilization that are not in Art. 18 of Law No. 31-FZ and Decrees of the President of the Russian Federation, has further confused the situation with citizens who need constant care (supervision), since the conclusion of a medical and social examination on disability as a form of document is not established by regulatory legal acts.
In such a situation, you should rely on the current regulations and follow them.
p.s. Bill No. 206845-8 “On Amendments to the Federal Law of February 26, 19” was submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation97 No. 31-FZ “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation”. The proposed bill does not affect the deferment provided for in paragraph 3 of part 1 of Art. 18 of the Federal Law “On mobilization training and mobilization in the Russian Federation” for citizens engaged in constant care for a relative.

What is diabetes, its signs, disease prevention
The number of Russians with diabetes has grown to 5. 1 million. Such statistics as of the beginning of 2020 were given by Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
Almost every Russian is familiar with someone who has diabetes. There is no cure yet for this disease, but a combination of diet, proper treatment, and exercise can improve the quality of life for these people. Now you will better understand what this disease is, how to cope with it and what is expected in the future.
What is diabetes mellitus?
Diabetes is a serious chronic disease that develops when the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin or when the body cannot use the insulin it produces. This is manifested by high levels of glucose in the blood and the development of lesions of blood vessels and internal organs over time.
There are two main types of this disease:
Diabetes mellitus of the first type (insulin-dependent) – develops as a result of the destruction of pancreatic cells that produce insulin by the body’s immune system. This disease occurs in people of any age, but is more common in children or adolescents. People with this form of diabetes need daily insulin injections.
Diabetes mellitus type 2 (non-insulin dependent) is the most common type of diabetes, usually in people over 40 years of age. In this case, insulin is produced in the body, but does not have the proper effect due to a violation of the sensitivity of cells to it in the tissues of the body. People with this type of diabetes need a well-balanced diet, increased physical activity and, if necessary, medication.
How common is diabetes mellitus?
According to official statistics, diabetes occurs in approximately 6-8% of the world’s population. The prevalence of this disease has increased in recent decades. The main reasons for this are overweight, lack of physical activity, unhealthy diet, bad habits, chronic stress.
What symptoms indicate the development of diabetes?
The main symptoms of type 1 diabetes are:
weakness, fatigue;
constant feeling of hunger, weight loss;
frequent urination;
thirst and dry mouth,
blurry vision;
prolonged healing of wounds;
impotence;
numbness and pain in the legs.
In type 2 diabetes, the symptoms of the disease are usually less pronounced.
How to treat diabetes?
There is still no cure for diabetes, and most treatments are based on getting blood sugar levels as close to normal as possible. The closer the sugar level is to normal, the better a person with diabetes feels. It has been proven that the control and normalization of blood sugar levels significantly reduces the occurrence of late complications and their severity.
Currently, glucometers are widely used – compact devices that allow you to measure blood glucose levels without even leaving your home:
Accu-Chek Performa blood glucose meter and Accu-Chek Active blood glucose meter.
The main differences between Accu-Chek glucometers are the size of the test strip and the test field on it, as well as the screen size. The Accu-Chek Active meter has a larger screen, which is convenient for those who have low vision. Accu-Chek Active test strips are also larger in size and you need to apply blood to the test field yourself by placing your finger on it. The Accu-Chek Performa meter requires less blood to determine a result. The Accu-Chek Performa test strip must be brought to a drop of blood, the test strip itself will absorb the right amount. This may help those who find it difficult to get a large drop of blood after a puncture (anemia, low blood pressure).
Glucometer Satellite Express is a device of a Russian manufacturer, among the main advantages of which are the accuracy of readings, maximum ease of use, as well as the favorable cost of test strips.
People with type 1 diabetes need continuous insulin for treatment. Because insulin is destroyed when taken orally, it must be given by injection. In recent years, insulin pens have appeared. Their use solves many of the problems that exist with the usual use of insulin syringes and vials.
In addition, today there is an alternative to multiple daily injections of insulin – an insulin pump. This is a small electronic device that injects insulin according to pre-programmed individual settings (imitation of the pancreas in a healthy person). Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion eliminates the need for frequent injections – fast-acting insulin is administered in precise doses around the clock, precisely meeting the needs of the body.
Another invention that will probably soon be used is the insulin inhaler. With its help, insulin enters the lungs, and then into the systemic circulation.
For some patients with type 2 diabetes, diet, exercise, and bad habits are enough to bring blood glucose levels back to normal. Others for whom this is not enough are treated with both tableted drugs and insulin injections.
Over the past 15 years of the 21st century, seven new classes of hypoglycemic drugs have emerged, among which the most advanced are glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists; dipeptidyl peptidase 4 inhibitors – Alogliptin (Vipidia film-coated tablets), Sitagliptin (Januvia film-coated tablets), Vildagliptin (Galvus tablets) and, finally, sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (gliflozins) – Ipragliflozin (Suglat film-coated tablets coated), Dalagliflozin (Forxiga film-coated tablets).
What are the complications of diabetes?
Most people with diabetes lead normal lives as long as they follow their doctor’s instructions for diet, exercise, medications, and insulin. But at the same time, patients with diabetes for many years may develop late complications, such as:
Diabetic retinopathy is a disease that causes damage to the blood vessels supplying the retina of the eye, leading to reduced visual acuity and blindness.
Diabetic polyneuropathy is a disorder of the peripheral nervous system that leads to loss of sensation and pain in the legs (risk of ulcers and serious infections), erectile dysfunction, and problems with digestion and urination.
Diabetic coma is a condition resulting from a lack of insulin in the body, in which a person loses consciousness.
Diabetic foot is a complex of pathological changes in peripheral nerves, blood vessels, soft tissues, bones and joints of the feet. The end result of these changes is the appearance of acute and chronic ulcers on the dorsal and plantar surfaces of the feet, fingers, and less often heels.
Diabetic nephropathy is damage to the blood vessels of the kidneys, which leads to a decrease in the efficiency of the work or complete failure of the kidneys.
Diabetic angiopathy – damage to large and small blood vessels, mainly the heart and lower extremities.
Diabetic encephalopathy is a violation of brain functions, in which patients develop fatigue, headaches, sudden attacks of aggression, attention and memory deteriorate, and problems with speech and motor skills occur.
Vitamin and mineral complexes play an important role in the fight against complications of diabetes mellitus:
Complivit Diabetes (tablets). A complex of 12 vitamins and 4 minerals, as well as ginkgo biloba extract and lipoic acid. Helps regulate blood sugar levels and reduce the risk of diabetic complications. Helps improve the quality of life of people living with diabetes.
Doppelgerz Aktiv Vitamins for diabetics (tablets). Vitamin-mineral complex containing 10 vital vitamins, as well as zinc, chromium, selenium and magnesium.
Olijim (inulin + gymnema) tablets. Helps maintain normal blood sugar levels with two herbal ingredients.
Alphabet Diabetes (tablets) – contains 13 vitamins and 9 minerals, organic acids and plant extracts. Unlike other complexes, it was developed taking into account scientific recommendations for the separate and joint intake of nutrients.
What are the forecasts for the future?
Even 100 years ago, diabetes was considered a fatal disease. During this time, significant progress has been made in the treatment of diabetes. If we compare the treatment of type 1 diabetes, for example, at the end of the twentieth century and now, then there are much fewer complications. Extensive efforts are currently being made to find new treatments for diabetes mellitus. A number of research teams around the world are developing new drugs and experimenting with them, looking for new ways to deliver insulin using genetic engineering, which would ideally mimic its secretion in the pancreas.
