For many online casino enthusiasts, online blackjack is one of those games that they have to learn or learn tricks to overcome the losses that they are bound to experience. Of course, you can always play online blackjack for money, but that is not very realistic either. First of all, you need to learn what to do, what to watch out for, how to read the table, etc. before you even start playing online blackjack for money. This is something you can learn from those who have been playing online blackjack for money for years.

What most Fair Go best Aussie casino players don’t realize is that blackjack table games are not a one-sided business. While it’s true that all the action is on the other side of the table from where you are sitting, blackjack table games also require some strategy. Blackjack bonuses and side bets are usually the key to winning these bonus games. Most casinos do not offer a blackjack service on their main website. Those that do, usually only offer it in the blackjack room. The reason for this is that players often use fake or stolen credit cards to make side bets at the casino. They then play online blackjack for money with these cards, or by transferring the winnings to their credit cards. When they get their winnings, they transfer them to the casino’s account and the casino charges the winnings to their account.

What the online casinos don’t tell you is that they use these credit cards and transfers to make their winnings. As we mentioned earlier, blackjack bonuses and side bets are the main source of revenue. These casinos and their original online casinos also accept wagers through other means, such as direct deposit, but they do so through a bank like Wells Fargo, rather than through an online casino account.

I am a resource parent of an infant.. I was fortunate enough to always be home with my older children during their tender years. For this child, I went in search for the perfect daycare that would fit our needs. I even had a contract in

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A lawsuit has been field against a day care on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The allegations stem from a complaint made by a mother, who said her child suffered a black eye, busted lip and an injury to the head — later diagnosed as a concussion.

The child’s mother has retained Morgan and Morgan as her attorney, documents show, suing Kid Kingdom LLC — the owner of Kid City USA off Collins Road. According to the law firm’s written complaint, the plaintiff’s child attended the day care, where they sustained the injuries.

Sarah Foster is an attorney from Morgan and Morgan who’s been working on the case.

“This child was left in an environment that clearly wasn’t safe. We have multiple incidents of injury here that we know of, and truly, we’re trying to find answers,” Foster said.

According to Foster, the day care allegedly failed to properly inform and provide incident reports of each injury to the parent.

The complaint references a report by the Florida Department of Children and Families, which reportedly states that underage employees were put into classrooms with infants and young toddlers with no training and lacked the required certifications.

“We have hardworking clients, moms and dads who drop off their children and entrust them to other folks, while they go and provide for their families,” Foster said. “It’s extremely concerning that this would be an issue, that there would be an environment that our clients wouldn’t be able to trust that their child was being well taken care of.”

A request for comment from the day care was not returned by publication of this article.

10 Accelerated Nursing Programs in Florida

It is entirely possible for you to move into nursing from your current career or with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree. This is only possible if you participate in accelerated nursing programs. So learn about accelerated nursing programs in Florida.

Aspiring nurses usually begin their education with a Diploma (LPN) or Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) degree from any college or university. However, graduates of non-nursing degrees who wish to work in nursing can do so by going through accelerated nursing programs.

Upon successful completion of an accelerated program, you will receive either BSN or MSN, depending on the program you choose. The BSN degree qualifies you to take the NCLEX-RN exam and become a licensed nurse.

Nursing accelerated programs also provide licensed nurses with the opportunity to gain more education and skills, leading to career advancement in a variety of healthcare settings.

Why is there growing popularity of accelerated nursing programs in Florida?

According to the Florida Nursing Center, there is a high demand for nurses in Florida each year and this has resulted in a shortage of nurses in the state. In addition to this, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks Florida as the 4th largest nursing employer in the United States.

For these reasons, many students, both local and international, enroll in accelerated nursing programs in Florida to get nursing jobs in the state.

So, if you have a bachelor’s degree in another field of study but want to become a licensed nurse, this article will provide you with accelerated nursing programs in Florida that can make your wish come true.

    Childcare – FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH

    About From Cradles to Crayons

From Cradles to Crayons is a State licensed Childcare Center that maintains compliance to Kansas Department of Health and Environment regulations. From Cradles to Crayons is an integral part of the ministry of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). FCC is a place where ALL are welcome to gather, to worship, to seek, to ask questions, to doubt and to feast upon the love of God. That inclusiveness carries over into our childcare center as well. The congregation, pastors, and staff are available to assist FCC families whenever needs arise.

It is our MISSION To give children loving, quality care and help them develop a love of learning by:
    • providing a nurturing, welcoming environment
    • Meeting their individual educational, social, and emotional needs
    • Providing engaging opportunities for children to learn through play and exploration
    • Working collaboratively with parents to support development at home and at our center

It is our PHILOSOPHY that we believe children learn and grow when they are in an affectionate, accepting, and Christian environment (kindness, love, inclusiveness, and empathy). To us, learning begins with play. We view play as an important part of a child’s experience at From Cradles to Crayons. We also believe the freedom to express feelings helps children develop a positive self-image. We encourage children to use their intellectual and creative abilities and to develop habits of observation, questioning and listening. We utilize Zoo Phonics as our literacy curriculum, a multi-sensory curriculum, teaching the foundations of letter recognition and reading.  Our Creative Curriculum is developed around the general interest of the children, all of our classrooms follow a child friendly theme and expand our lesson plans based on age appropriate developmental domains and milestones for the children in care.

Early Learning Center – HOPE LUTHERAN

Hope Lutheran seeks to serve our community by providing high-quality child care and education and the good news of Jesus for children zero to sixth grade. You do not have to be a member of our church to enroll your children. Everyone is welcome!

We take the privilege and responsibility of guiding, educating, and loving the children in our care seriously. We offer far more than just day care or babysitting. We have been accredited by the National Accreditation of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and use a research-based curriculum called HighScope that promotes and encourages growth in all areas of development for all ages.  Our curriculum centers around how children learn best–through play and active participatory learning. Active learning is supported by adult/child interactions, the learning environment, the daily routine, and assessments. With this philosophy of active learning in mind and within our structured day we have created indoor and outdoor environments for children to explore and learn by doing!

We see ourselves as partners of the parents and families to help their children grow and develop. Whether you are a member of our church, of another faith, or do not have a church home, we welcome your family to our Early Learning Center.

    Infants & Toddlers

For children ages 2 weeks – 2 years

Hope Lutheran believes that loving, quality child care starts with the youngest of Jesus’ lambs. We partner with families to provide an active learning environment that:

    • Builds trusting relationships
    • Encourages children to use their whole bodies and all of their senses to explore their environment
    • Allows children to choose what to do
    • Fosters an atmosphere where children communicate and use language

    Our Infants & Toddlers Program

    Preschool

    For children ages 3 – 5 years

In the preschool years there is so much for children to learn and explore! We provide loving, quality child care and education that prepares preschoolers for kindergarten. So much more than day care, this program:

    • Builds positive relationships
    • Teaches children about their Savior Jesus through daily Bible time with our directors or a member of Hope Lutheran Church
    • Features an active learning environment both indoors and outside in our natural playgrounds
    • Prepares children for school

    Our Preschool Program

    About Our Child Care Facility

Our facility includes nine spacious classrooms, each with its own bathroom, and five natural outdoor play areas where children can explore and discover the world around them. Each outdoor play area is designed for a specific age group: infants, one-year-olds, two-year-olds, and preschoolers. Additional features include a dedicated activity space inside which can be used for physical activities during inclement weather, as well as a kitchen with our own cook who prepares nutritious meals and snacks from scratch.

With secure access to the main facility, as well as each individual classroom, the center provides a safe environment for children. We also help parents and family members stay connected by securely sharing photos and updates during the day, if desired.

We are happy to answer any questions and can provide tours of our facility upon request. Contact us for more information!

The most long-awaited, magical, beloved holiday – New Year is coming! Surely each of us remembers how, as a child, he was waiting for a New Year’s miracle, gifts, dressing up a Christmas tree with his parents, looking forward to the arrival of guests, learning poems for Santa Claus, making Christmas decorations and snowflakes with his own hands. For the rest of our lives we remember this incredible smell of Christmas trees and tangerines, the crunch of snow, fireworks, happy faces of loved ones, Bengal lights, favorite films and fairy tales on television. Growing up, we repeat this fairy tale for our children, and we ourselves believe that all our New Year wishes will come true.
We congratulate you on the approach of the most joyful, kind, magical holiday – the New Year! May this year be a series of happy and joyful days filled with love, kindness and faith in the best!

Preschool Classroom Schedule: Back to School & Setting up Classrooms for Students with Autism #2

Today, I am going to focus on a preschool classroom schedule.  I’ll follow this example through pictures of the physical space and zoning plans as well.

This was a preschool program that had some children that attended 1/2 days and some students attended all day.  On this preschool classroom schedule, the grayed out areas represent the times those students were not in the classroom.  There was a teacher and 2 aides in the class with 8 students in the morning and 6 in the afternoon.  The students could only handle 15-minute activities at at the most,  so we had a 15-minute circle which worked perfectly for this group.

As you can see, there are 2 circles so we could cover everything we would typically cover in a 30-minute circle. We just broke it up to keep their attention.  For centers in the morning, the students rotated through direct instruction, independent work (structured work systems) and play time.

In this preschool classroom schedule, direct instruction (DI) consisted of primarily discrete trials.  This teacher was a master at discrete trials and differentiating them among the students in a group.  The funny thing is that she didn’t know she was doing trials–she thought she was just teaching.  The students who attended full day were the ones who needed more explicit instruction in basic skills like following directions, imitation, and matching, while those in the afternoon needed more language acquisition and socialization practice.  So, the morning rotation included discrete trials, while the afternoon rotation included more small group activities.

To check out other posts in this series, click here.

In the afternoon they rotated through art and games.  They had a mandated nap time (because they are in preschool) but many of the kids didn’t really nap.  So we call this quiet time and those who don’t nap can engage in quiet activities while others nap.

Two elements that I think are important to note about this preschool classroom schedule.  Table tasks is the name we give activities that involve manipulatives (e.g., puzzles, file folders).  They are activities that are designed to keep students engaged more independently (i.e., with less supervision). They can serve as a training ground for activities that can eventually go into structured work systems.

We use this activity as a way to keep students engaged in meaningful activity while we have adults busy with things like getting other kids off the bus or taking students to the bathroom.  This allows us to have an activity that keeps the kids engaged while having less adult supervision.  It also gives us a good activity in the morning when we can’t predict when busses and cars will arrive.

Keeping the students engaged during this time prevents a myriad of problem behavior that can develop from free, unstructured time while waiting.  Second, rather than having students all go to the bathroom and have to wait their turn with downtime (Downtime is not your friend!) while waiting, we engaged them with table tasks and had staff pull 2 students at a time to go to the bathroom.  This kept everyone engaged in an activity that didn’t mean missing something while they were in the bathroom (as would happen if we did the same with circle or story time).

So, you can see a larger version of the schedule below.  And if you go below that….you can grab a download of 5 different classroom schedules including this one from the Free Resource library.

    90,000 foods in kindergarten

Municipal budgetary preschool educational institution “Kindergarten No. 4 of the city of Leninogorsk” Municipal Education “Leninogorsk Municipal District” Republic of Tatarstan /Tatarstan Municipal Budget Municipalities Multәchәchә Bir around Leninogorsk Shәrena Balalaric bourgeon

Whether the baby will eat in kindergarten It depends not only on the staff of the preschool institution, but also on the parents. 0005

There may be several reasons why a baby refuses to eat in the first days: the child’s emotional state, unfamiliar dishes, inability to eat independently. Therefore, when preparing to visit a kindergarten, it is worth thinking about this problem in advance.

How do I prepare my baby for feeding?

First you need to bring the home diet closer to what will be in kindergarten. In preschool institutions, as a rule, breakfast is at 8.30, lunch is at 12.00 (for a nursery) and at 12.15 (for children 4-7 years old), afternoon tea is at 15.15. Children eat at home. The optimal time for dinner is 19.00 Before going to bed, the child is recommended a second light dinner, which may consist of kefir or milk.

However, this regimen is not universal for kindergartens. Therefore, it is better to coordinate the baby’s feeding schedule with the kindergarten in which he will go.

If the child’s feeding time does not coincide with kindergarten, then it is necessary to switch to a new diet gradually. Children are hard to wean from the prevailing stereotype. With a sharp change in the feeding schedule, the baby may refuse to eat; after all, the feeling of hunger comes at the usual hours, and after a while the child’s appetite fades away.

It is best to shift the feeding time gradually by 10-15 minutes, and this should be started at least 2-3 months before the child goes to kindergarten.

It is more difficult in kindergarten for those children whose parents did not adhere to any daily routine at all. In this case, the diet must be established immediately upon admission of the child to a preschool institution. Kindergarten diet should be followed until school.

    Do not overfeed your baby!

In kindergarten, the amount of food offered to a child is rationed. The amount of food is calculated taking into account the age of the preschooler. Thus, the daily consumption of products in grams for children ranges from 1000 g to 1700 g. The volumes of dishes offered for each feeding are also strictly observed.

Often, mothers, believing that their child is malnourished, give him much more food than his stomach can absorb. At home, such children eat less often, often refuse to eat, so they may feel hungry in the garden. During the day, the baby should receive as much food as his body needs. Putting the next portion on a plate for the crumbs, consider his age. Then the volume of food received by the child in the garden and at home will not differ much.

Gradually wean your baby from eating between feedings, since it is not allowed to bring food to kindergarten.

Make up your child’s diet according to the kindergarten menu. Include meat, bread, vegetables, fruits, juices and vitamin drinks daily. You should not offer one product more often than others. If a child has developed a strong preference for certain dishes, then it will be much more difficult for him to adapt to a new cuisine.

After 1.5 years, the baby’s diet should be varied enough. The child should know what borscht, mashed soups, mashed potatoes, compotes, kissels, casseroles and so on are. Your kid will not refuse them in kindergarten if he is used to such food at home.

You should also follow some rules for cooking at home. Dishes in kindergarten are low-fat, mostly cooked in vegetable and butter. Do not abuse sauces, mayonnaise, spices, spices. After such seasonings, the desire to eat simple food disappears. If in your family, someone prefers to eat like this, then it is better for the baby to cook separately.

Teach your child to eat on their own

One of the reasons children refuse to eat in kindergarten is the inability to use a fork or spoon. If the baby after 1.5 years is still eating with your help, gradually accustom him to independence. Long before kindergarten, he should stop getting bottled food.

A child entering the kindergarten must be able to use a spoon and drink carefully from a cup. It has been noticed that children who, without the help of adults, can simply serve themselves (eat, wash, dress), adapt much faster to the conditions of a preschool institution.

Teachers note that beginners eat rather slowly and are the last to leave the table. In the process of eating, they are distracted by many things. Therefore, at home, try to ensure that from the age of 2 the child eats with you, the parents, at the common table. In addition, lunch or dinner in the children’s team before entering kindergarten will also be a good experience for the baby.

Pay attention to how long the child spends at the table. In kindergarten, feeding takes no more than 30 minutes. Even at home, the baby must learn to fit into these time frames.

Most of the problems with nutrition in the first days of attending kindergarten occur in toddlers. Their parents should pay more attention to our recommendations and do not forget about the psychological preparation of the child for the garden, because the emotional state, as you know, affects the appetite.

If you have questions about your baby’s nutrition, it’s a good idea to contact the nurse or head of the kindergarten of your choice. They will tell you about the specifics of this institution.

P The first day is the most difficult

The first days of a child’s stay in kindergarten are the most difficult. An unfamiliar team, the absence of a mother, a change in the usual way of life. All this affects the emotional state of the baby. As a result, appetite decreases, and in vulnerable children, with an unstable nervous system, it may even disappear altogether. Moreover, some recruits refuse food and houses.

Therefore, more attention should be paid to the baby’s nutrition during the first days of attending kindergarten. Experts advise during this period to cook more nutritious dishes fortified with vitamins and minerals at home for the crumbs.

Instead of the usual pasta and cereals, salads and vegetable dishes should be prepared more often. Be sure to include fruits, juices (preferably freshly squeezed), sour-milk drinks in the baby’s diet. To fill the body’s need for vitamins and minerals, it is recommended to give it vitamin preparations.

Give up sugary rewards for a while. They do not have a high nutritional value and, in addition, interrupt the child’s appetite, so that he may refuse a full dinner at home. But in the first days, it is better to feed the crumbs at home with breakfast, warning the teacher that he has already eaten.

Always ask how the child eats during the day. Pay attention to the menu in kindergarten. Products that were in the child’s daily diet should not be repeated at dinner.

When a small person enters the group, warn the teacher about the habits of your child. For a beginner in kindergarten, a sparing regimen is established. If your baby, for example, does not know how to eat on his own, then feeding him is the responsibility of the educator or nanny. Remember that you can’t force your baby to do something new. This may cause him to have a negative attitude towards kindergarten and unwillingness to attend it. New habits and skills are formed gradually. If you could not form them before kindergarten – do not rush!

    If your child is allergic

If your child has an allergy, specific allergens (such as fish or bird feather allergy) must be listed on the child’s medical record when they enter kindergarten.

You should also warn all educators and the nurse that your child is allergic, what food he may have a negative reaction to, and indicate that food should not be given to him in kindergarten.

    Kindergarten menu

Kindergartens usually have one common menu for children aged 1.5 to 7. The seasonality of nutrition is affected only by the fact that in the summer-autumn period they try to give children more vegetables and fruits, and in the winter-spring time, juices and fruits.

When compiling the menu, kitchen workers in kindergarten take into account:

    • Daily set of products

    • Portion size

    • Cooking time

    • Norms of interchangeability of products when preparing meals

    • Loss rates during cold and heat treatment

    • Data on the chemical composition of products and dishes

When compiling a daily diet, first of all, they take care of the presence in it of the main building material – protein. Animal protein sources are meat, fish, eggs, milk and dairy products. From vegetable products legumes, some cereals (buckwheat, oatmeal, millet) and bread are rich in protein.

Most of the fat in a child’s daily diet should be fats of animal origin. They are found in butter, cream, sour cream.

The total amount of vegetable fats (corn, sunflower, olive oil) is at least 15-20% of its total amount in the child’s daily menu.

Refined sources of carbohydrates – sugar, jam, honey, confectionery – are less useful for the child. The main part of the baby’s daily carbohydrate needs must be met through cereals, bread, pasta and, most importantly, vegetables and fruits.

The latter also contain vitamins, mineral salts and microelements that are important for the child’s body. In addition, fruits and vegetables contain pectins, dietary fiber, fiber, which have a beneficial effect on digestion. The oils and flavors of many fruits secrete gastric juices and increase appetite. They are useful for children with reduced appetite. It is also necessary to include onion and garlic in the menu.

A child can eat some foods every day – milk, butter, bread, sugar, vegetables and fruits, meat. An egg can be given every other day, cottage cheese – after two days. But fish – once a week. On this day, the entire weekly diet of fish is completely consumed – about 250 g. Once a week, it is permissible to make a vegetarian or fish soup.

The menu for each day should not repeat dishes that are similar in composition. For example, if soup with cereals or noodles is prepared for lunch, then vegetables should be prepared for the side dish, and not porridge or pasta. It is also very beneficial for children to start their meal with a salad of raw vegetables or sour fruits, which stimulate the production of gastric juices and increase appetite. Vegetable salads are given in small quantities, but regularly, in order to develop the habit of eating fresh vegetables in the child.

Another indispensable condition when compiling the menu is to take into account the requirements of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service regarding prohibited foods and dishes, such as sausages, smoked meats. In addition, special attention is paid to the health of the staff working in the kitchen in the kindergarten.

The process of eating cannot be complete without the appropriate environment. With the wrong approach to the feeding process, especially when the baby is forced to eat or fed with entertainment, persuasion, he has a negative reflex to any food.

Each child in the garden is assigned a permanent place at the table, and the teachers make sure that it is comfortable for him to sit and use cutlery. Each group should have chairs that are age appropriate for the children. Tableware requirements: stability, convenience and compliance with portion sizes.

    Bon appetit!

Symptoms pregnant cat: How to Tell If a Cat Is Pregnant

    Is my cat pregnant?

Female cats that haven’t been neutered (called ‘queens’) can easily get pregnant if they live with unneutered male cats or spend time outdoors. So it’s important to know how to spot the signs of pregnancy.

    When can cats get pregnant?

Queens can fall pregnant as young as four months old. If she lives with her brothers, she can mate with them too as cats don’t discriminate when it comes to their partners. Unlike humans, females don’t go through menopause so they can keep getting pregnant until the last years of their life.

    How long are cats pregnant?

Compared to humans, pregnancies are short – usually lasting for 63 days, though pregnancies shorter or longer by a few days can also happen.

How to tell your cat is pregnant?

Although there might not be any signs in the first weeks, there are some common early pregnancy symptoms that can appear:

    • Noticeable weight gain in a few weeks
    • Swollen, pink nipples that appear around three weeks into the pregnancy
    • Vomiting (morning sickness like in humans)
    • Increased appetite
    • Sleeping more
    • Changes in personality, like being more affectionate
    Important

If you notice any of these signs, talk to your vet.

During the later weeks of her pregnancy, she might be anxious and pace around. She may also start nesting during her seventh week of pregnancy, which means looking for a safe space to give birth.

Close to her giving birth, there could be red-coloured discharge on her vulva (the outside of her genitals).

    Tip

In the final weeks of her pregnancy, we recommend keeping your cat indoors, to ensure she’s safe when she gives birth. Take care not to disturb her, keep your distance and try to keep other animals away from her.

What should I do if I think my cat is pregnant?

You should take her to the vet if you think she’s pregnant. The vet can tell if she’s pregnant by doing a tummy check, although sometimes an X-ray or ultrasound is also needed. Your vet may also want to discuss the next steps with you.

    Important

Make sure you do not press on her stomach as this can be very uncomfortable, and can even cause a miscarriage.

Even if your cat is pregnant, she can still mate with other cats for a few days and can give birth to a litter that has different fathers. After giving birth, queens can get pregnant after two weeks.

    How to prevent cat pregnancy?

The single best way to prevent your pet from getting pregnant is by neutering them before they are sexually active, which can be as early as 4 months old. Not only will this prevent any accidental litters but it can also:

    • reduce their risk of breast cancer
    • reduce their risk of an infection of the womb (called pyometra)
    • prevent any risks that pregnancy and birth can have

Neutering your cat will also reduce their chance of catching and spreading feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). If you have a male and female cat in your home, it’s best to get them neutered as early as possible to avoid surprises.

If you don’t own a purebred cat that will be used for breeding, it’s best to have your pet spayed as early as possible to avoid unwanted feline pregnancy. A kitten as young as four months can reach sexual maturity and come into heat, and unlike humans, cats do not experience menopause with a loss of fertility, and so can continue to come into heat, become pregnant, and give birth to kittens through their entire lives.

If your cat was recently in heat and had access to an intact (unneutered) male cat, there’s a good chance that she is pregnant. A pregnant queen (the term used for an unspayed female cat, especially while pregnant) will display both physical and personality changes that will become more evident around three weeks after breeding, including swollen nipples, enlarging abdomen, and nesting behaviors.

The gestation period for cats runs 64 to 66 days. You could consider 63 days, or nine weeks, as an average feline gestation period.

Physical Changes in a Pregnant Cat

Looks for these signs in your cat’s body indicating pregnancy:

    • Heat cycles cease: This may be the first sign you notice of a cat’s pregnancy. If a cat has been going through heat cycles every 10 days to two weeks, and suddenly stops, it is likely she is pregnant.
    • Nipples swell and become rosier in color: Breeders call this “pinking-up,” and it may be the first visual sign you will see in a pregnant cat. This usually occurs at around three weeks into the pregnancy. There may be a slight discharge from the nipples, as well.
    • Change in appetite: A pregnant cat may have a decrease in appetite early in her pregnancy. In the second half of pregnancy, she will show an increased interest in food. After all, a pregnant cat is not only eating for herself, but for several fetuses.
    • Weight gain: Most pregnant queens will gain about 2 to 4 pounds of body weight over the course of pregnancy.
    • Vomiting: Pregnant queens may be subject to a few bouts of “morning sickness,” much as human mothers-to-be. This in itself is not necessarily a reason to worry, but if the vomiting continues or is frequent, contact your veterinarian for help.
    • Enlarged abdomen: Sometime around the fifth week of pregnancy, a pregnant cat’s abdomen will start to swell noticeably. It will continue to enlarge until time for birthing. It can be a little harder to spot an enlarging belly if your cat was overweight to begin with, however.

Personality Changes in a Pregnant Cat

These character and mood changes are also indicative of pregnancy:

    • Affection increases: Your cat may become more affectionate than normal and frequently seek out your attention. By all means, give it to her! However, you might notice that your pregnant cat is less tolerant of other household pets during this time.
    • Increase in sleeping: Many pregnant queens will sleep for more hours in a day than before pregnancy.
    • Nesting behaviors: Typically, your cat will begin “nesting” a couple of weeks before she gives birth. Common behaviors during this time include finding a secluded spot and spending a lot of time there, and even attempting to drag blankets or other soft items into the nest. To prevent your cat from choosing an undesirable spot to give birth, such as in a drawer or in a difficult-to-access area, provide her with a birthing box that’s easy for her to get in and out of. Line the box with a few soft blankets that can be disposed of or washed as they become soiled.

Clinical Diagnosis of Pregnancy in Cats

If your queen has had regular veterinary care and the previous signs of pregnancy are evident, it may not be necessary to get an official diagnosis from a veterinarian. However, it’s a good idea for your vet to examine your cat and make sure she is in good condition.

    • Palpation of the Cat’s Abdomen: Your veterinarian may be able to feel your pregnant cat’s fetuses by palpating and gently pressing on her abdomen. This typically happens around the 17th to 25th day of pregnancy.
    • Ultrasound of Your Cat’s Abdomen: An ultrasound may detect fetuses as early as the second week of pregnancy, and heartbeats may be detected sometime after the third week.
    • Radiographs (X-rays): Your vet can take a radiograph of your cat’s abdomen when she is further along in her pregnancy to determine the number of kittens she is carrying. This is a minor amount of radiation that will not be harmful to the kittens or the mother. Kitten spines and skulls begin to be visible on x-rays after about 42 days into the pregnancy.
    • Pregnancy test: Just as with humans, there are pregnancy tests for cats that can detect certain hormones released during pregnancy. While usually you won’t need such a test, as your veterinarian can determine the pregnancy with the above methods, if there is uncertainty and the vet is unable to do an ultrasound or an x-ray, a pregnancy test is another option. In cats, the test requires a blood sample, unlike human pregnancy tests that can be done on a urine sample.

If your resident or rescued cat is indeed confirmed pregnant, some serious decision-making time is at hand. If you decide to spay her and prevent the pregnancy from coming to term, it should be done as early as possible. If not, be prepared to help care for the kittens and find them all good homes.

Signs Your Cat Will Give Birth Soon

Once your cat begins active labor, try to leave her undisturbed. Watch from a safe distance to make sure she does not go into distress. Generally, the first stage of a cat’s labor lasts an average of six to 12 hours, and is the period in which contractions begin and the cervix opens. The second stage of labor is the actual delivery of the kittens. There can be anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour between each kitten’s birth. After the delivery of each kitten, the queen will experience the third stage of labor, which includes the delivery of the placenta. It can take anywhere from two hours to more than a day for a cat to finish giving birth once stage two begins, but two to six hours is common.

These signs indicates kittens are on the way:

    • Nesting Activities: As the birth gets closer, your pregnant cat may seek out quiet, private places for the birth to take place. This typically begins up to two days prior to labor, but it may only begin a few hours prior.
    • Restlessness: About 24 to 48 hours before labor, the pregnant queen may seem restless or anxious. She may go in and out of her nesting area, almost as if pacing.
    • Panting: Often, a female cat will pant as labor begins.
    • Vocalization: In addition to the pacing and restless behavior, the pregnant queen may meow and cry out more than usual.
    • Lowered Body Temperature: Within 12 to 36 hours of labor, your cat’s body temperature will drop below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (normal temperature is usually between 100.5 and 102.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
    • Loss of Appetite: Your pregnant queen will likely have had an active appetite during her pregnancy. As she comes close to labor, she will have a drastic decrease in appetite.
    • Vulva Licking: As labor fast approaches, your cat will begin licking her vulva to clean a mild discharge. You will likely not see this discharge, as she will want to keep the area clean.

    After the Kittens Are Born

Most cat mothers do just fine on their own, and it’s best to remain a respectful, but watchful distance from the nest while your cat tends to her brand-new kittens. The average feline litter is four to six kittens, and the mother will clean each newborn thoroughly as it emerges. The kittens should begin to nurse within an hour of birth. If your cat appears to be very distressed, straining, or unable to care for her kittens, contact your veterinarian for advice.

What to Expect When Your Cat Is in Heat

If you suspect your pet is sick, call your vet immediately. For health-related questions, always consult your veterinarian, as they have examined your pet, know the pet’s health history, and can make the best recommendations for your pet.

How to understand that a cat is pregnant Pregnancy in a cat, as a rule, becomes visually noticeable on days 21-25, despite the fact that the entire cycle of bearing kittens on average lasts from 63 to 65 days, and in Siamese cats it is even less – up to 57 days.

Experienced breeders can determine pregnancy by external signs, but it is possible to confirm this condition, find out the term and identify the presence (or absence) of pathologies only with the help of a veterinarian. nine0003

Signs of pregnancy in a cat

From the fifth week of pregnancy, the cat’s nipples become more intense in color, may begin to peel off, increase in size, the hair around them thins. However, be careful: this phenomenon is also observed in false pregnancy.

At the sixth week of pregnancy, the cat begins to gain weight, but in order to track this, you need to regularly weigh the animal. There is an active growth of kittens, the stomach is getting bigger.

After seventh week of pregnancy, the cat becomes restless, begins to prepare for childbirth. Palpation can already determine the shape of the fruit.

Changes in behavior may appear in a pregnant cat after about after three weeks : the animal may become more calm and sociable, or, conversely, begin to retire and behave more independently. Abrupt changes in behavior are worth paying attention to, but not all cats may be signs of pregnancy.

3-4 days before giving birth, the behavior of a cat changes dramatically, she can walk on the heels of the owner all day long, meow and prepare a place for herself to give birth. Body temperature during this period drops to 37 degrees. Fetal movement can often be seen or felt by hand through the abdominal wall.

Instrumental diagnostic methods and tests to help determine if a cat is pregnant

Ultrasound. This is the most accurate method for determining pregnancy, it can be used as early as two to three weeks after mating, since during this period the heart rate of the embryos is well determined. With the help of ultrasound, it is also possible to identify any deviations in the development of future offspring. nine0003

Determination of the level of hormones in the blood. Sometimes it is possible to determine whether a cat is pregnant or not using a blood test for specific hormones.

Palpation. The method is effective on days 21-25, until the 35th day of pregnancy, each kitten can be identified individually, then the fetuses become too large. But if you do not have the proper experience of palpation determination of pregnancy, you should not do this, as you will not only determine nothing, but can also cause irreparable harm to future kittens. nine0003

X-ray. It is applied approximately 40 days after mating, when the skeleton is formed in future kittens. X-ray is not informative in terms of diagnosing the very fact of pregnancy. With its help, you can only determine the number of future offspring.

How to care for a pregnant cat?

In advance, before the onset of the planned pregnancy, it is necessary to limit the contact of the cat with other animals, refuse exhibitions and free range. By the end of the term, provide the cat with a secluded place to which she will get used in advance and give birth to kittens there. nine0003

How to feed a pregnant cat?

From the first day of estrus, throughout pregnancy and until the end of lactation, the cat must be gradually transferred to a specialized diet (more on this can be found in our article “What to feed a pregnant cat”). After all, it is during this crucial period of life that an animal needs an increased content of energy and nutrients.

It is worth monitoring the daily feed intake to avoid overweight, which can adversely affect the health of the animal and cause complications during childbirth. nine0003

These cats can be offered the Queen diet from the first day of estrus until the end of lactation. In some cases, you can use the Mother&Babycat and Babycat instinctive food lines. By the way, the same food can be given to kittens during the weaning period and up to 4 months.

How long does a cat’s pregnancy last, signs of pregnancy in cats? There are many factors that affect the reproductive process of an animal. Body size, breed, general health, and even daylight hours all matter in one way or another. As a result, the age of a cat for a first pregnancy can range from 3.5 (meaning even small kittens get pregnant) to 18 months. nine0003

Readiness for mating is expressed by a peculiar behavior: the cat becomes very restless, constantly requires attention, may sleep less and eat worse. In addition, a characteristic posture appears when the cat falls on its front paws, arches its lower back, rolls on the floor and purrs or meows invitingly.

How to know if a cat is pregnant

Pregnancy in a cat can be recognized by changes in behavior, and a veterinarian can help determine the fact of pregnancy. Around the 21st day after conception, he can feel if there is a fetus in the uterus. However, there are symptoms that will tell you that the cat will soon have kittens: changes in the mammary glands, fatigue, toxicosis and more frequent urination are all signs that your cat is expecting offspring. nine0003

    Changes in the mammary glands

This symptom usually accompanies the first pregnancy in cats. The duration of the uncharacteristic cat behavior can vary, so you may not notice it the first time, but redness and swelling of the nipples should alert you. If your nipples feel hot, your cat may be pregnant.

    Fatigue

Drowsiness, lethargy, unwillingness to run and frolic… Is this the same cat that loves to play so much? Pregnancy days can change a pet’s behavior, and fatigue is one of the signs. nine0003

    Toxicosis

Early pregnancy in cats may be accompanied by toxicosis. Nervousness, poor appetite, morning vomiting – toxicosis is unpleasant, but safe for the cat and her offspring. Make sure that diarrhea and dehydration do not add to these signs – in this case, the cat must be shown to the veterinarian.

    More frequent urination

During pregnancy, cats may void more frequently than usual. If the urine is clean, without blood impurities, and the process of urination is painless and does not cause anxiety in the cat, then everything is in order with her health. nine0003

How long does a cat’s pregnancy last?

A typical cat’s pregnancy lasts 9 weeks – 55 to 63 days. This period also varies depending on the breed and number of kittens. For example, in Siamese and Oriental breeds, pregnancy sometimes lasts longer than 9 weeks. Multiple pregnancies often lead to a shorter period.

For those who are planning to breed kittens, it is interesting to know how many pregnancies a cat can have per year. Domestic cats are able to bear offspring up to three times a year, but this, of course, is a great stress for their body. According to veterinarians, it is advisable for a cat to bring kittens into the world no more than once a year. nine0003

How does a cat’s pregnancy develop week by week?

      • 1-3 weeks of pregnancy

There are no “two strip” tests for cats, and pregnancy cannot be accurately determined in the first week. During pregnancy, a cat may sleep more, become less active, and eat more.

By the third week after fertilization, especially if this is the first pregnancy, the cat’s nipples turn pink and enlarge – this is the first sign that your pet will have kittens. From the 21st day, the veterinarian can diagnose the pregnancy of the cat during examination: the doctor draws conclusions after palpation (soft touch) of the abdomen. Most importantly, in no case do not try to feel the cat’s stomach on your own, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. nine0003

Unprofessional probing can harm kittens and lead to unfortunate consequences.

If you wish, you can do an ultrasound and thus determine with certainty whether the cat is pregnant. This procedure compares favorably with the fact that it allows you to determine the exact number of kittens, as well as their viability (heartbeat and mobility). And from the 30th day of pregnancy, during the ultrasound procedure, you can examine the internal organs of the babies.

      • 4-6 weeks

If you have not resorted to the help of a veterinarian, then it is during this period that you can see obvious signs of pregnancy: the cat eats a lot and sleeps for a long time, the nipples are distinctly pink, the belly is rounded – from the sixth week it begins to grow faster. At this time, an experienced veterinarian can feel the number of embryos.

      • 7-9 weeks

This gestation period in cats is characterized by a rapid increase in the abdomen, the cat eats less, sleeps a lot and often goes to the toilet. Putting your hand on her stomach, you can feel the kittens moving. By the end of the term, the stomach drops: it used to start right behind the ribs, and now it is located in the hips. The cat constantly follows the owner and at the same time begins to look for a place for a nest. By the way, it is worth taking care of it in advance. nine0003

    Caring for a pregnant cat

A cat’s first pregnancy can make owners nervous. Try to provide your cat with nutritious food and give her more fluids. Let the cat’s toilet always be clean – during this period it is very important for a cat. Pay more attention to the cat – she needs affection. And, of course, organize a place where she will be comfortable giving birth.

    Cat is in labor

Here are the signs by which you can tell that your pet is going into labor: she becomes restless, eats poorly or refuses to eat at all, licks herself often and – most importantly – begins to breathe quickly. At the second stage of labor, the cat settles in the nest – the place that she has determined for the birth of kittens – and no longer leaves it until the end of the process. nine0003

In most cases, cats are able to cope with childbirth on their own; excessive attention will only cause them stress. So let your pet handle everything by itself. But if you see that something has gone wrong (delivery has dragged on, bleeding has occurred), you should call a veterinarian. It does not matter what pregnancy the cat has in a row. After giving birth, cats may go without food for up to 24 hours, but they should always have fresh water and access to a litter box. nine0003

How to take care of newborn kittens

It is better not to take newborn kittens once again if the cat is able to take care of them. And her milk will fully provide the babies with nutrition in the first four months of their life. Be sure: you will have a lot of time ahead to look at and caress the kittens.

    False pregnancy in cats

It is very difficult to distinguish a false pregnancy from a real one by external signs. This condition is the result of a hormonal imbalance in the cat’s body.

    FOUNDERS STORY

For over 10 years, Woodcrest’s founder, Myron taught in the Beverly Hills school district. He enjoyed teaching high school, but his real passion was working with young children. His dream was to open up his own school to provide preschoolers with a strong academic foundation and a deep love of learning. He convinced his wife Arlene to quit her job and help him start a preschool. The very first Woodcrest was located in a small church in Sherman Oaks. The school flourished right from the start as a result of Myron’s curriculum and Arlene’s abiltiy to connect with parents. In the early days, Myron and Arlene served as a teacher, director, janitor, and bookkeeper. Despite being difficult, it was the best time of their life. From these humble beginnings, Woodcrest flourished and grew into a small family owned business of 5 preschools, private kindergarten through eigthth grade, and summer camps.

    THE NEXT GENERATION’S STORY

In 2005, Scott took over the family-owned school business from Myron and Arlene. His dream was to expand on the traditions and strong academic foundation forged by Myron and Arlene by incorporating our core values with 21st Century learning skills. The 21 Century learning skills used in the new Woodcrest Preschool curriculum include: Communication, collaboration, imagination, and design thinking. AT Woodcrest, teachers blend the hardware or tools of 21 Century learning with the software or social and emotional skills. The combination of the two skill sets are embodied in the schools Vision called C.A.R.E. At Woodcrest we want all students to be COMPASSIONATE, develop a strong ability to ADAPT, be RESPONSIBLE, and be ENGAGED LEARNERS. It is our mission to instill these core values into every student to prepare them for a future that is ever- changing.

BENEFITS OF A WOODCREST PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

As your children grow up, they will often be faced with changing lessons, a different teacher, new work groups, new academic skills and tasks, fluid social group dynamics, new sporting or creative challenges – and so on.  At Woodcrest Preschool serving Thousand Oaks, we work with your children to seek out information, help them understand that change is not bad, and guide them through behaviors, thoughts and emotions that lead to successful outcomes.

Even children as young as age two can begin the process of learning to care for their own bodies and being responsible.  At Woodcrest Preschool our students are capable of responsibilities for self-care and learn many age appropriate classroom tasks to practice these important skills.  At Woodcrest, our students LOVE being helpers and learning to do things on their own. Using practical life skills to encourage a young child’s desire for independence promotes healthy development (order, concentration, self-control, coordination, independence) and fosters a sense of high self-esteem.

One key way to engage students in learning is to ensure the material speaks to them.  Our curriculum is carefully designed to peak each child’s interests and fascinations, give children choices to learn in a way that is comfortable and age appropriate, Group students to allow for collaboration and communication, and present curriculum and themes in multiple formats.  Woodcrest makes a concerted effort to engage students in their learning, the result you’ll discover is children who are better able to maintain focus, better able to sustain behavior, and better able to grasp and retain the material.

    12 interesting facts about oaks

    260

Oak is one of the oldest and most widespread trees on this planet. They existed long before humans existed. At first they fed various living creatures with their leaves and acorns, and then they played a decisive role in the history of mankind.

In ancient times, people built their houses from oak wood and built strong ships. This tree is still one of the most important sources of raw materials in our modern times.

Elegant furniture, flooring materials, beauty creams and wine barrels are just some of the many things that are made from oak in today’s world.

    1. Mature oak can reach a height of 45 meters

Compared to bank sequoias, which typically grow to a height of 116 meters, oak remains in the medium height tree category. However, unlike sequoias, their branches can spread widely in length. Therefore, they are also considered shrubs.

    2. Oak appeared on our planet about 65 million years ago

Unlike many other trees on our planet, oaks did not disappear for such a long period of time. This was made possible thanks to the seeds, which are enclosed in a hard shell. In addition, acorns and leaves are coated with acid, which prevents fungus and insects.

    3. Oaks live up to 1000 years

A tree is considered old when it reaches the age of 700 years. Until this age, the oaks continue to grow and produce acorns for the reproduction of their offspring.

When trees are over 1000 years old, their growth slows down and some parts begin to die.

    4. An oak produces about 10 million acorns during its lifetime.

Each acorn contains only one seed, enclosed in a strong shell. Besides seeds, they are also the main food source for many birds such as woodpeckers, ducks, and pigeons. Squirrels, mice, rats, and larger mammals such as deer, pigs, and bears also consume acorns.

However, if you own a dog or horse, you should be aware that acorns are toxic to your animals. Tannic and gallic acids contained in the stomach can poison both dogs and horses, leading to severe gastrointestinal and kidney diseases.

    5. There are more than 600 species of oaks

The largest population of oaks can be found in North America, especially in Mexico, where about 160 species grow and 109 of them are endemic. USA also has over 90 kinds. If we go on a trip abroad, for example to China, we can find more than 100 species.

This is the northern red oak (Quercus rubra) – its leaves have a unique red color and is also the state tree of New Jersey.

    6. Largest living oak located in Mandeville, Louisiana

In addition to being the largest, it is also one of the oldest known living oaks, at 1,500 years old. The owner of the tree, Carol Hendra Dobie, named it “The Seven Sisters” because she was one of the seven sisters. In addition, the oak has seven sets of branches that have grown from its central trunk.

    7. The wine is aged in oak barrels

You may have already seen a warehouse of large wooden wine barrels. They are handcrafted from selected American or French oaks. Aging wine in oak barrels has been a historical practice of famous winemakers. All this is practiced to this day.

Before the wine is bottled, it is aged for a long time in barrels. Why? Oak gives the wine a unique taste, as well as aromas of vanilla, coconut and smoke.

    8. If you love truffles, thank the oaks

Truffles have a close relationship with oak roots. Did you know that it is almost impossible to grow truffles on farms? Truffles grow naturally. The process of their development is connected with mystery and uncertainty. Therefore, prices for truffles are much higher than for any other mushrooms.

Truffle farmers do not plant them on purpose, but plant oak trees in the hope of creating favorable conditions that could encourage the growth of truffles.

    9. Oak numbers are decreasing

This is really sad news. Farmers in Mexico and Central America cut down oak trees to open pasture for livestock or coffee plantations. The felled trees are used as building material, while the rest is processed to produce coal.

Currently, about 78 oak species are considered endangered.

    10. Only 1 in 10,000 acorns grows into an oak

Oak trees usually start producing acorns when they are 50 years old. When mature, they can produce over 10,000 acorns, most of which are eaten by animals and rot in the ground. According to statistics, only one in a thousand survives to become a tree. In other words, a mature oak gives birth to one oak per year.

    11. Vikings used oak to build ships and boats

Oak woods are dense and strong, which made them a popular material for building projects in ancient times. The Vikings handcrafted their ships using local forests.

The ships of the British Royal Navy were also built of oak until the middle of the 19th century. Today, the wood of this tree is very popular among furniture manufacturers.

    12. Some cultures worshiped oak trees

For centuries, in parts of Europe, people worshiped oak trees, associating them with mythological gods, namely Zeus and Jupiter.

Druids married under the spreading branches of oaks and carried acorns, believing that this would bring them happiness and health.

    Introduction

    Topic chosen independently.
A year ago, in the third grade, at technology lessons in the fall, when working with
natural material, one of the students offered part of the acorns
plant. If the acorns grow, then in the spring plant them on the school
territory. The topic of growing oaks interested us.
The subject of the study was English oak.
Purpose of the project: To determine experimentally whether it is possible to grow
    oak at room conditions?

    Project objectives:

    1.
To study scientific material about oaks, their types, uses
wood on the Internet and encyclopedias.

    2.
    Read fiction about oaks.

    3.
Germinate acorns, plant and observe the development
    oak.

Information gathering and research tasks are feasible.
When collecting information and conducting practical work,
used research methods such as observation, experiment,
    material classification.
The project is of practical importance: landscaping the school site.

    Theoretical part

Information was collected on this topic from various
sources: encyclopedias, reference books, the Internet.

    1. Oak and its structure.

Oak – a genus of deciduous trees of the family
    beech.
Oak grows slowly. At first (up to 80 years) – stronger in height, later – in
    thickness.
Grows fairly quickly in side shade, but needs good light
    above.
Lives up to 400-1000 years. Usually forms a deep tap root system .
Gives abundant growth from the stump.
Photophilous. Some species are drought-resistant, quite winter-hardy and little
    demanding on soils.
There is a poem by I. Tokmakova about the endurance of oak.

    Oak
    rain and wind
    Not afraid at all.
    Who said that oak
is afraid to catch a cold?
    After all, until late autumn
    It stands green.
    So the oak is hardy.
    So hardened!

Oak is up to 40-50 m high and 1-1.5 m in diameter.
Leaves are alternate, simple, serrated, sometimes entire.
Flowers small, inconspicuous in long hanging catkins (Appendix 1) Blossoms
simultaneously with the blooming of leaves from 40-60 years.
Begins to bear fruit at the age of 15, in open places earlier than in plantations.
    Fruits abundantly every 4-8 years.

Reproduces mainly by acorns. Used for sowing
acorns collected in the same year, because they quickly lose their viability.
The fruit is an acorn, partially enclosed in a cup-shaped woody cupule. (Appendix
    2)
About 450 species of oaks grow in the Northern Hemisphere. Also oaks
grow in hot climates: in the subtropics and tropics. This is oak holm, oak rock ,
oak downy, oak chestnut-leaved (Appendix 3)

Oak pedunculate grows in our forests or like it
call year old . (Annex 4)
The species of this tree form forests. The forest in which oaks grow is called oak forest.

    2. Use of oaks.
    1) Some types of oaks are grown as ornamentals. Here,
for example, the holly oak is used as a bonsai. (application
    5)

    2) Oak has a very strong and durable wood with
beautiful drawing. It is dense, strong, elastic, well preserved on
air, in the ground and under water, moderately cracks and warps, easily
prickly, resistant to decay and house fungus.

Used in shipbuilding, underwater structures, because
not susceptible to rotting, furniture production, construction, etc. (application
    6),

    3) Oak bark contains a lot of tannic acid,
and therefore goes to the tanning of leather.
    4) Of the other oaks, cork is the most important. The bark of such oaks goes
    for making bottle caps.

    6) Acorns from our oaks are only used to make acorn coffee.

    7) Oak leaves and branches are used as fodder for livestock, and
wood is a building material or kindling material.

    8) From a medical point of view, oak contains
tannin, which accelerates blood clotting, improves stomach function and heals
wounds, used to rinse the larynx and tonsils.

    9) In the past, oak wood was used to make gates, barrels, doors,
wheels. In the old days, warriors made weapons from oak: clubs, spears.
Bog oak was especially valued. People immersed whole trunks of oak for many years under
water. There is a riddle about bog oak: It lay in the water for a long time, but did not disappear,
    became even stronger.
Indeed, the oak that was (stained) under water acquired
surprisingly beautiful color of wood, from which carved decorations, furniture were made
for palaces, even thrones for kings.

And people were so carried away that they cut down a great many oak trees. Even
Tsar Peter the Great had to forbid chopping down oaks and advise people to
case of planting acorns in the ground. But it is from them that oaks grow.

    10) Oak is also a good fuel, and from its branches
they make oak brooms for a bath.
    11) Birds often settle among the branches of the oak. Acorns – favorite food
boars. And many mushrooms grow under the oaks.

    3. Oaks and the Red Book
6 species of oaks are protected.
Serrated and rocky oak are listed in the Red Book of Russia with
    rare species status.

    4. Oak on the emblems of cities.

Oak is famous not only in Russia. Some cities and
states depicted oaks on their coats of arms. It symbolizes strength, power,
    confidence, protection, durability, courage.

    5. Oak and A.S. Pushkin
Loved oak and A.S. Pushkin, the great Russian poet. Remember the lines:

    Lukomorye green oak,
    Golden chain on oak vol.
Day and night the scientist cat
Everything goes round and round in a chain.

We learned the legend associated with this oak tree:
An oak tree grew on the estate of a landowner. Lightning struck him and split him in two.
half. The landowner ordered the oak to be folded and wrapped with a chain. By chance this oak
saw Pushkin and wrote a preface to Ruslan and Lyudmila.

    6. Monument oaks

    Monument “Oak of Kamyshev
monument to the guard lieutenant Kamyshev Vladimir Mikhailovich, installed on
mountain, on the right bank of the Seversky Donets River.

In 1943 at the head of a lieutenant
Kamyshev’s artillery detachment could not succeed in destroying the enemy,
because they did not know the exact coordinates of the enemy, because of the hilly terrain. For that
in order to transmit the correct coordinates of the Guard, Lieutenant Kamyshev climbed a high
and a thick oak standing on a high hill. From the oak, the German positions were visible to him
in full view. Now the shells began to fall right on target. Fascists noticed
daredevil and opened fire on the oak from their self-propelled guns. One of the projectiles
hit a tree trunk, and Vladimir Kamyshev was mortally wounded (Appendix 7).

    Po
    results of the Russian
    Tree of the Year 2017
year, the winner was a mighty oak growing in the Belgorod region in
village with the speaking name “Oak”. Its age is over 300 years. (Annex 8)

    Conclusion
    theoretical part:

    1.
Oak is one of the most hardy and unpretentious trees.

    2.
Oak is a tree associated with the history and literature of our country.
It is a symbol of strength, courage and endurance.

    3.
The information received gives hope for a possible successful
    result of the proposed experiment.

We put forward a hypothesis – it is possible to grow an oak in
    home conditions.

    Practical part

We collected acorns for planting in early autumn.

Planting material must not be damaged,
    contain holes, worms or mold.

Brown acorns with a green tinge are considered
good planting material. Although each variety has a different fruit
    color.

We took acorns, which are easily separated from the cap. The hat is not
is part of the acorn, so when the cap is detached, the acorn is not
    is damaged.

Harvested fruit soaked in water at room temperature
(Appendix 9) and left for a few days to swell.

At this time, we have prepared pots of earth. The pots took the big one
volume, because they knew that the root of the sprout would be of great length. In his
experiment, we did not use special soil because we planned
plant seedlings in the school yard. We decided that it would be better if the plant
will immediately adapt to the local soil. We sifted it, removed debris, stones and
insects. For an aesthetic appearance, the pots were wrapped in paper (Appendix 10).

In one week, the acorns swelled up, and some sprouts appeared.
Now we have started landing (Appendix 11). Then we watered well and
covered the pots with foil to create a greenhouse effect. Since the pots were
up to 40 cm in diameter, we planted 3 seeds in each dish and wrote the name of the student on the side,
    who planted (Appendix 12).

After 3 days we opened the pots (removed the film) (Appendix 13), and
after 2 days, the first oak sprout appeared. And then another, and another! (Appendix 14). TO
Unfortunately, not every acorn sprouted. Out of 15 acorns, only 7 sprouted. But we were
glad for that too. It happened 19October 2019.

We planned to measure the plants on the 19th of each month and
make photo reports, but at that time there were a number of quarantines, and in the spring we
switched to distance learning. But, despite all the circumstances, oak trees
continued to grow. Here are the marks we made.

The first month the oaks were actively growing, and with them rose almost
everything that grows in the garden: weeds and even tomatoes (Appendix 15).

And after 2 months (December 19), their growth, on average, amounted to 5
    cm 3 mm (Appendix 16).

Of course, we tried to take care of the oaks: the seedlings were placed on
window sills in the office, where there is enough light. Watering was not frequent: 2-3 times
in 10 days. Average temperature: +22 degrees (Annex 17).

After another 2 months, the seedlings grew by 2.5 cm (Appendix 18). A
On March 19, the oaks were 5 months old, their growth, on average, was 10 cm 1 mm. On
we left the spring holidays with joy and considered who would plant oaks,
when the time comes. But our teacher, Tatyana Petrovna, had to do this,
since we were all in self-isolation (Appendix 19).

Places for landing were chosen not shady, sunny. Now
a hot, sultry summer awaited the oaks. The seedlings, of course, were regularly watered.
Thanks to the technical staff of the school and all caring people.

When we came to school in September, we unfortunately found
that 3 trees did not start. So, 4 fortified seedlings went to winter
(Appendix 20). We are waiting for spring to find out how the oaks overwintered. But even,
if one tree remains, or if the winter is too hard for them, our labor
    did not go to waste!

We learned how to grow oaks from acorns.

    Practical output:

Oak is easy to grow at home.

Oak grows quickly and is interesting to watch.

Oak is a beautiful, valuable plant with a wide practical
    application.

Our hypothesis was confirmed: oak can be grown at home
    conditions.

Child Care for Toddlers – First Things First

Toddler child care should be based on a close, caring relationship between your child and one or two caregivers. Look for a caregiver who will help your child learn language and develop interests and social skills.

Finding the Right Caregiver Takes Time

    • To find high-quality child care in Arizona, visit Quality First. Scholarships may be available for low-income families.
    • For more help finding child care, contact Arizona Child Care Resource and Referral. They can tell you about the costs of child care and about licensing and certification.
    • Start looking early. There can be waiting lists for child care.
    • Ask other parents about programs or caregivers they like.
    • Make appointments to visit several centers or homes.
    • If your child has special needs, make sure the provider has the training to give the right care.

Early Head Start and Head Start

Early Head Start and Head Start serve children from birth to age 5, as well as pregnant women. Children learn many skills, including language and social skills. Parents are active in the program. It is free for families who qualify. Call your school district or visit the Arizona Head Start Association or the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

    THINGS YOU CAN DO

    Stay in Touch

    • Check in briefly each day with your child’s caregiver.
    • Talk about important issues, such as language skills and guidance.
    • Drop in from time to time to make sure all is well.
    • Talk to other parents and go to parent meetings.

For Your Child’s Health and Safety

    • Do not take a sick child to child care. Have a plan for when your child is sick. See the Child Care for Babies page of this guide for some things you can do.
    • Ask your child about each day. Listen to what she says.
    • If your child tells you about bad treatment, has bruises without a clear cause or seems neglected, take it seriously. Contact Childhelp, or see the Emotional Health page in this guide.

If a Relative Cares for Your Child

    • Talk about ways to help your child learn, such as reading stories, playing games and making things together.
    • When your child is ready, discuss learning to use the toilet. Make sure he is not shamed or forced before he is ready. See the Learning to Use the Toilet page in this guide.
    • Talk about setting limits and discipline. See the Guiding Toddlers page in this guide.

24 secrets of daycare teachers—steal their tricks!

    Illustration: Melanie Lambrick

“He had a great day,” your kid’s daycare teacher beams. “He listened well, napped for three hours and ate all his veggies.”

Ever wonder why the child your daycare describes sounds nothing like the one you drop off and pick up every day?

There are good reasons the wildling you know at home is a model of decorum at daycare. No matter how familiar, it just isn’t home; kids are less likely to push the same boundaries. They may also hold in their angst until they see you at the end of the day—hence, the pre-dinner meltdown.

But there’s something else: Year after year, daycare professionals get up close and personal with dozens of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. This repetition lets them finesse their skills and strategies—that’s a huge advantage over parents, who get only a few kicks at the can, if that. We asked early childcare educators (ECEs) across the country to share some of their best tips and tricks for managing the toughest parenting challenges in the toddler-to-preschool demographic. Here’s what they had to say.

    Transitions: Simplify your routine

For kids, transitions are a nightmare. “The art of preschool is the art of repetition,” says Maigualida Osorio, supervisor at Small Fry Preschool in Ancaster, Ont. Predictability feels safe, she says, particularly for kids who are pre-verbal or working on language skills. That sense of security breeds confidence in toddlers and preschoolers, and it’s for this reason that most daycares keep their routines as simple as possible, with consistent times for snacks, lunch, play and naps, day after day after day.

If you work full-time, it’s tempting to try to squeeze as many activities into your weekend as you can. But if possible, minimize the number of transitions in your day, and schedule your weekend activities at the same time your toddler or preschooler would be active during daycare.

    Capture your routine in pictures

Donna Freeman, director of Discovery Children’s Centre in Winnipeg, uses charts and illustrations to help her daycare kids visualize their daily routines, and parents can do the same at home. She uses an online program called Boardmaker to create charts with images of daily activities (play, eat, use the bathroom, sleep). Parents, she says, can personalize their charts further by using snapshots of their kids doing these activities.

    Give warnings

Being interrupted when engaged in an activity can be irritating to anyone, but for kids who don’t yet have the skills to manage their frustration, it can seem like the end of the world. Still, we don’t always have the luxury of moving from point A to point B on our kids’ time. So do what ECEs do: Offer a warning before the start of a new activity. Teachers at Freeman’s daycare centre will flash lights or sing a song to cue transitions. She suggests parents could do the same with visual or audio cues, like sand timers or a smartphone alarm. “Tell your child in advance that when the timer goes off, it’s time to clean up,” Freeman says. “Children accept transitions better when they know what’s coming next.

    Create the illusion of choice

A lack of control is a big reason some kids put up a fuss around transitions. Ashley Imrie, an ECE at Glenora Child Care Society in Edmonton, gets around this by offering what she calls a false choice. She’ll ask, “Do you want to wash your hands now? Or do you want to wash your hands in two minutes?” This diverts the focus from feeling out of control to feeling back in control, she says. “But the result is the same.”

    Make transitions fun

Meike VanGerwen, an ECE at the University of Toronto Early Learning Centre, makes transitions easier by helping the kids in her care envision the future activity in a positive way. As she’s leading the kids through the transition, she might say something like, “What are we going to play with when we get to the playground?” Be creative and customize your comments to your kid’s interest. If your son likes cars, for example, but hates the idea of having to stop playing with his cars to have a bath, turn the bath into a car wash. “Children are incredibly creative,” VanGerwen says. “Use their imaginations to your advantage.”

    Feeding: Eat together

My kid will only eat four foods—and they’re all beige. One reason many kids eat so well at daycare is because they see all their friends eating. That’s one reason (among many) to prioritize eating together as a family at home. Studies show that children who eat meals with their families are more likely to experience long-term physical and mental health benefits. At Hudson Bay Child Care Co-operative, all kids and ECEs sit down together for meals, family style. “Our kids help set the table; they dish up themselves; they pour their own milk,” says Sjuberg. This gives kids the chance to really immerse themselves in the eating experience. While she says they don’t force kids to eat, the opportunity to see other children and adults enjoying a wide range of foods encourages picky eaters to try new flavours.

    Stop offering backup meals

At daycare, a meal or snack is served, and that’s what is available, nothing else (except perhaps fruit and milk). No amount of moaning and groaning will get them a different meal. So if your kid decides they don’t like what’s on the menu at dinnertime, let them know that’s all that will be available. You kid will get used to the idea that what’s on the dinner table is the only food on offer—and in the vast majority of cases, they won’t starve themselves. This may seem like tough love, but ECEs say kids rarely whine about what is served at daycare because they know there’s no point.

Kid clutter: Use bins, baskets and labels liberally

Most daycares have the luxury of child-level hooks and cubbies, which makes it easier for kids to clean up after themselves. You can replicate this with labelled baskets (most daycares attach pictures of the contents to each bin to make it easier for kids). Put them everywhere: at the front door, in the kitchen, in the TV room and, of course, in the playroom, if you have one. Label hooks, and put a mat down for shoes. “Even a young toddler will get the idea,” says VanGerwen. “They’re learning to take responsibility for their own belongings and building the foundation for organizing their brain.”

    Make cleaning fun

The imaginations of toddlers and preschoolers are exploding. Use that to your advantage, says VanGerwen. “Your shoes want to stay together when you’re not there, so put them beside each other,” she’ll tell the kids in her care. Get competitive and make cleaning up a race, or turn on some music and dance while you tidy. Count the items as you pick them up. Is your daughter an animal lover? Tell her she’s a zookeeper who has the very important job of putting all the “animals” in their cages for the night. Or say she’s a construction worker when it’s time to clean up the blocks. Whatever the mess is, associate it with something fun, VanGerwen says.

    Be specific with requests

A two-year-old won’t know everything that “clean up” entails. In her classroom, VanGerwen is as specific with her requests as possible. For example, “Clean up the toys you were playing with,” might not work. But “I see a yellow hula hoop over there—can you hang it on that hook?” should do the trick.

    Whining: Ignore it

With so many little ones to care for at the same time, daycare teachers simply don’t have the capacity to cater to every outburst or demand. At home, your kid may refuse to go to sleep without two more stories, a glass of water, four trips to the bathroom and one last cuddle, but there’s just no way your daycare provider can do that. Instead, ECEs try not to acknowledge negative behaviours like whining. This, says Renée Clusiault, an ECE at Our Children’s Centre in Victoria, BC, gives little kids a valuable real-world lesson: speaking to people this way won’t get the result you’re looking for. Resist the urge to cater to your child’s tantrums. You might be surprised to see how short the tantrums become when your kid realizes they’re not getting anywhere with them. Once your child calms down, you can explain that speaking to people that way isn’t acceptable and talk about why they were so upset.

    PeopleImages/ Getty Images

Help your kid become more self-aware

Not all tantrums can be ignored, and some can even be dangerous—to your kid and to others. When that’s the case, you need to facilitate their calming down, and ECEs say the best way to do this is to bring attention to their physical body. This helps develop self-awareness, and it also causes a child to pause. For example, Clusiault will say, “I see you’re very upset. Your body is moving really fast and wild.” From there, a firm hug, a touch to the cheek or some deep-breathing exercises (in through the nose and out through the mouth) often do the trick.

    Name big emotions

The windows of Shelly Sjuberg’s daycare in Hudson Bay, Sask., are lined with sensory bottles filled with coloured water. These act as both redirectional and calming tools, but they also help kids define their big emotions—an important first step toward self-regulation. On the front of the bottles are poems, such as these ones:

Green, green, green, I was feeling so mean. Green, I was feeling so mean. Grrr…

Red, red, red, I got a bump on my head. Red, I got a bump on my head. Ouch!

When children act out, says Sjuberg, teachers can direct them toward the bottles. Children can shake them if they’re still really angry, tip them back and forth to calm down, and read the poems with their teacher to help process how they were feeling in that moment. At home, you can make your own bottles (even the least crafty parent can throw some water, food colouring and glitter in a water bottle and glue it shut).

    Look for patterns and triggers

When Imrie notices repeat behaviours, such as a kid who never wants to go outside or always has a hard time sharing, she’ll pay extra attention to that child for the next week or two to find a pattern. Is there a time of day when a toddler is particularly whiny? Do tantrums take place just before nap or snack time? The answers to those questions, she says, are important clues that can help you prevent specific behaviours altogether. Once you determine the cause, you can take actions to eliminate the cause. It could be as simple as adjusting a nap time, removing your kid from noise, providing more frequent snacks or turning down the temperature.

Sharing: Create house rules and follow through

Daycares and preschools are governed by rules—rules that the kids, even the smallest ones, are well aware of. “We make sure the kids know what they can’t do,” says Sjuberg. “They can’t hurt each other; they can’t bite; they can’t kick.”

“Whatever the laws of your land are,” says VanGerwen, “you have to be able to define them and enforce them. The trick is determining what your laws look like and then following through.” In other words, at daycare, if kids aren’t allowed home toys, they’re never allowed home toys—the toy will be removed. If they aren’t allowed to throw sand, they’re never allowed to throw sand—the child will lose sandbox privileges.

Kids will try to push the limits, but they are also looking for limits, VanGerwen adds. She suggests creating your own set of rules. Make it a fun activity by writing them together on poster paper and putting them somewhere visible, like the fridge or a kitchen wall.

    Pornpimon Rodchua/ Getty Images

    Catch your kid being good

Not only do daycare teachers model wanted behaviour, but they use positive reinforcement to eliminate negative behaviour. For Clusiault, that means following up her requests (“I need you to put away your whining voice and talk to me in your speaking voice”) with positive statements when kids comply: “Thank you for asking me so nicely. I love that!” If your kids have a tendency to hit out of frustration, then be sure to shower them with praise when you catch them asking nicely for a turn or showing empathy toward a sibling.

    Just say “no” to sharing

If you find your kid sucks at sharing, then replace it with this daycare tactic: turn taking. You can even teach your kid to ask for that turn themselves. For a baby or toddler, that might be putting their hands out and saying “Please?” or “My turn?” Preschoolers might ask, “Can I play with that truck next?” More often than not, the other kid will agree to passing the toy along when they are done with it.

    lisegagne/ Getty Images

    Don’t force an apology

We’ve all been there. Your kid sprays water in the face of a sweet little toddler at the splash pad. Mortified, you demand your kid apologize. But because it’s simply a learned response, saying sorry is actually pretty meaningless to little kids, says Clusiault, so it won’t prevent the behaviour from happening again. “Children learn that after they say it, they can carry on and everything is fine,” she says. Instead, Clusiault facilitates a conversation between the kids involved that includes asking if the other kid is OK, how it made them feel and what the instigator can do to help make things better. Sometimes all it takes is a hug, she says, but an important step toward empathy means holding kids accountable.

    fizkes/ Getty Images

    Potty training: Don’t force it

Freeman says visits to the toilet are part of the daily routine at daycare, starting as early as kids begin to show interest. “But if a child is not willing to sit on a toilet, the worst thing you can do is to make them sit,” she says. In her years of experience, she’s found that kids will use the toilet only when they’re ready, and negative associations will delay the process.

    Arsenii Palivoda/ Getty Images

    Let them bring their toys

Little ones are often so transfixed with what they’re doing, they don’t want to interrupt that activity to go to the bathroom. Developmentally, they may believe the toy or activity will no longer be there when they get back, so they’ll wait until it’s accident city. VanGerwen gets around this by allowing her extra-persistent daycare kids to bring their toy or activity with them. “We never bring toys into the washroom,” she says, “but we have a space close to the washroom so that they’re not quite out of sight, out of mind. We’ll tell the kid, ‘Your toy is here,’ and when we’re finished, I’ll say, ‘Oh, look, your toy is still here’ to build that trust. Pretty quickly they realize it’s not such a terrible thing to go pee.”

    VioletaStoimenova/ Getty Images

    Don’t go back and forth

Once you’ve committed to underwear, don’t go back and forth, says Nicole Cedeno, director of the Glenora Child Care Society in Edmonton. Kids get confused, and some will regress and stop using the toilet altogether when they realize they can just do the deed in their pull-on diaper. At daycare, once a kid is in underwear, they stay in underwear. Accidents are going to happen, but that feeling of being wet is an essential part of the learning process, she says. For parents who are sick of the mess, Cedeno recommends early training underwear with thicker padding. “They still feel wet when they have an accident, but it’s not such a huge mess.”

    NickyLloyd/ Getty Images

    Play: Set activity traps

Wish your kid would play with their toys while you get things done? At daycare, kids can regularly be seen playing on their own—and that’s often because teachers have left out enticing activities for kids to discover. Try strategically putting out toys for your kid to stumble upon. Line up stuffies on a couch, leave a colouring book and markers on the table or place a stack of books near a cushion on the floor.

    romrodinka/ Getty Images

    Break things down into steps

Walk into any child-care centre, and you’ll see charts for washing your hands, for tying your shoes or explaining the order of getting dressed. Learning to follow simple steps is crucial to fostering more independence in young kids. Help your kid with a variety of tasks—from teeth brushing to putting on outdoor gear—with your own picture charts. Laminate the images and keep them on a key ring for portability. You could even just keep a folder of pictures on your phone.

    dmphoto/ Getty Images

    Be consistent and commit

From talking to parents, VanGerwen has found they sometimes give up on a strategy when it doesn’t work quickly. But when daycare teachers start with a new group of kids, they expect that things take quite a bit of time. “I only begin to see results after around three months, and that’s only if I’m consistent,” she says. She gives any new strategy a minimum of three months before determining it doesn’t work. Learned behaviours take time.

Frequently Asked Questions | Child Learning Center

    Background Image for Header:

    1. Once enrolled, am I able to change my enrollment contract?
Since the center is usually operating at full capacity, changing your child’s scheduled days in a week may not be
possible. Please check with the center management if this is possible within a week of care to make a change. Changing the number of days on your original contract is only allowed once per year based on employment or school schedules. The contract year runs from July 1st to June 30th of each year.

    2. Does the center offer a tuition assistance program?
Information about all of the tuition assistance programs that parents may be eligible for is located here.

    3. Do siblings of children already enrolled at the center have priority on the waiting list for enrollment?
Yes, but there is not guarantee that your child will have a slot at the center due to the fact that classrooms may be enrolled at their legal, licensed capacity. Every effort will be made to accommodate your children at the center and we request that you give the center as much prior notice as possible of your intent to enroll a sibling.

    4. Does the center have an Illness Policy?
Yes, the goal of our Illness Policy is to keep children, staff and families healthy. We follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics. The Illness Policy is included in the Family Handbook and this handbook will be provided to you upon enrollment.

    5. Can I bring medications into the center?
Prescription medications are permitted to be administered at the center by appropriately trained center staff. Nebulizer treatments will not be administered by child care center staff. Emergency Medications (EpiPen, Rescue Inhaler, etc.) are permitted in the center with appropriate documentation from your child’s physician. See our Medication Policy for complete details.

    6. How is my child signed in and signed out at the center?
The center uses a software program, ProCare, that allows for electronic sign in and sign out (will begin in late 2011). Families are required to use the ProCare system as it allows center management to track daily child attendance. In addition, families are also required to sign your child in and out of his/her classroom since this written/sign in-out list is used in the event of an evacuation to properly account for all children. Presently families sign in both at the front desk and their child’s classroom.

    7. Am I allowed to give my center access code to a person listed on my emergency contact list?
We strongly recommend that family members do not provide the access code to anyone except the primary
individuals that enrolled the child and signed the Family Contract (form included in the enrollment information).

    8. Is my child able to be picked up from the center by someone other than the individuals listed on my emergency contact list?
Strict rules will apply for someone other than individuals on your emergency contact list to pick up your child from the center. We ask that you make every effort to avoid this type of arrangement. We do know that in some cases this will occur. You must contact the center by telephone and speak only with the center director, program specialist or the administrative assistant to begin this process. They will verify the authenticity of the call and will also require you to identify the person who will pick up your child. Upon arrival, identification of this person will be required. If the individual is not able to provide identification, your child will not be released. You will also be required to complete the Verbal Release Form that the center will provide you upon your next visit to the center. This form is completed by the staff when families call to make this request and is signed by the pick-up person following the identification verification. Please refer to the Family Handbook for more information on this topic.

    9. If I do not work in the summer or may be on an extended leave of absence, what happens to my child’s slot at the center?
If you withdraw your child for the summer or for another reason, you can request to have his/her name placed on the center’s waiting list for his/her classroom.

    10. Can I bring food from home for my child?
We request that food from home not be brought into the center due to the large number of food allergies of our enrolled children. If your child has a special diet or food allergies and they are unable to eat certain meals provided by the center, please speak with the center director. She will strive to make accommodations available at the center. All dietary restrictions, allergies, etc., that require your child to not eat the meals provided by the center are to be stated, in writing, by your child’s physician to allow us to meet federal meal program regulations. The center is a peanut fee environment.

    11. What if I do not want my child to consume any meat products and prefer, as a family, to follow a vegetarian menu?
The center will strive to meet your child’s nutritional needs by providing a non-meat substitution where applicable. All dietary restrictions, allergies, etc., require the completion of a Dietary Form by your physician which describes the substitution in order for the center to meet the federal meal program regulations. (See the center’s administration for the appropriate form).

    12. Do children go outdoors even in the cold weather?
The State of West Virginia requires that children have an outdoor experience while attending the center. Extreme heat or cold, rain or snow will require the center to provide indoor gross motor activities rather than using the outdoor spaces. The center will post a daily notice for families when outdoor play is expected to occur.

    13. How many hours is my child allowed to be in care?
There is no written rule dictated by the State of West Virginia as to the number of hours per day a child can attend a center. The center encourages families to spend as much time as possible with their children and we request that a child not be in the center for more than 10 hours per day. A $15.00 fee is assessed for each 15 minutes a child is in attendance over 10 hours.

    14. When is my tuition for a week due at the center?
Tuition payments are due on Monday by 6:00 p.m. for the current week of service. A late payment charge of $10.00 will be assessed for payments beyond the Monday 6:00 p.m. deadline.

    15. Is electronic transfer of funds for child care tuition payments available to parents?
At the present time, this service is not available but Hildebrandt Learning Centers is researching the possibility of offering this service in the future. Payment by check or money order is the preferred methods of payment.

    16. How do I withdraw my child from the center?
A two week notice is required when terminating services from the WVU Child Learning Center. This form should be used to notify the center of your child’s last day of attendance.

    Infant Care Questions

    1. Do you provide formula for infants attending the center?
The center currently participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and is required to provide formula and baby food to enrolled infants. The center currently offers infants Gerber Good Start formula. Families may choose to supply their own formula if an alternate brand is preferred.

    2. Does the center allow families to provide breast milk for my infant?

Packet included in the New Child Enrollment Packet.

    3. Does the center provide baby food?

program are detailed more fully in the Infant Meals Memo included in the enrollment information.

    4. Does the center allow families to provide their own cloth diapers?
Yes, cloth diapers are allowed but families MUST provide a hands-free container in which to store the soiled diapers. The container must be removed upon pick up of your child at the end of each day. Diaper pins and baby powder may not be used.

    5. What additional items will I need to provide for my infant upon enrollment and going forward?
The Infant Supply list can be found here .

    6. Do all babies need to sleep on their backs?
Yes, all babies are placed to sleep on their backs to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). If your baby is able to roll over independently, they may do so and will not be returned to their back to sleep unless
requested by the family. All babies must sleep in their cribs and are not permitted to sleep in any other infant equipment. Toys are not permitted in their cribs and only one blanket may be used in the crib. This blanket will be tucked at the foot of the crib to prevent the baby from pulling it over their head while sleeping. Our Safe Sleep Policy is available here .

I would like to thank Mudra! I am very glad that I contacted you!

This summer I had my graduation from IED Barcelona and completed a year of Global Design. This is a great program for those who, like me, are not quite sure in which direction of design they want to move and in general what design is.

I am extremely glad that I entered this university, and of course, without the help of Tatyana Melnichenko, I would never have done it myself! Thank you so much for all your help and incredible support! Even at the first meeting, when I was just thinking about which university to enter, I was offered many different options with all the necessary and additional information! And then it was even better. Everything is always on time, everything is clear and easy, everything is planned and rechecked several times.
