Rancho Co-Op Preschool – Admission

Tuition and Fees

Tuition for the 2021/2022 school year is $3,240. It can be paid in one lump sum due on the 1st of September, or in nine monthly installments of $360, due on the 1st of each month. Tuition is considered late after the 10th of each month and a late fee will be added.

Upon completion of admission paperwork, a fee equalling one month’s tuition (of $360) is due. This fee will be used as the student’s last month tuition upon graduation or complete withdrawal from the program as outlined in the handbook.

A fee of $200 covers insurance and materials and is due annually for each student.

There is a 10% discount for enrolled siblings.

Tour and Application

We do not tour children who are under two years of age. We
ask that you bring your child with you, and that you plan to stay from 9:45-11:45. Applications are only available at the conclusion of a tour. To reserve an open enrollment spot a registration fee of $125 (which is then credited to the first month’s tuition) is required.

To schedule a tour, contact us.

Bench Time

During the first two weeks of school for any child, each working parent stays at school for a period that we
call “bench time.” During these two weeks, the parent learns the rhythm of the school day and begins preparing
for volunteering in the classroom. The child is also given an opportunity to confidently separate from the
parent. At the director’s discretion, the parent leaves for longer and longer periods of time each day, working
towards a smooth morning drop off and afternoon pick up.

Membership Obligations

A parent or guardian is required to volunteer for one workday per week, per enrolled child. This shift is
scheduled at the beginning of the year and will remain the same day of the week throughout the school year.

Workday shifts begin at 9:15 and end when the last child is signed out.

Since this position requires hands-on classroom participation, the working parent is required to have a negative
TB test and pass a Department of Justice background check via fingerprinting.

In addition to a weekly workday, family jobs are assigned at the beginning of the year. These range from simple
tasks, like being responsible for the laundry, to more time intensive jobs, like yearbook or fresh snack.

The classroom is cleaned and sterilized monthly on a Saturday or Sunday. Each family is responsible for two
clean-up shifts per year.

Each family is responsible for one move-in shift in early September and one move-out shift in late May.

Attendance is required at quarterly general meetings. These usually take place in the evenings.

As a Rancho family, you are also responsible for reading and understanding the Rancho Handbook.

Garden Ranch

Exactly one year ago we received an order to design a very interesting facility. This is a large plot 70 km from the Moscow Ring Road. The surroundings are quiet and very picturesque. The plot area is more than 3 hectares, but a significant part is occupied by forest. For landscape design, an open space of about 1 ha was taken. This area has an elongated shape, the length of the plot is 220 meters. By the time our work began, a house, a garage with a staff room, a pond with a large gazebo on the shore were built on the site.

The customer wanted to use this place for recreation away from the city, fishing in the pond, picking mushrooms in the forest. It was necessary to provide in the project for a large garden, many fruit trees and shrubs, a greenhouse, a chicken coop, a cellar. A bathhouse was also planned. Our task was to choose a suitable place for it and bind it to a landscape project. We suggested putting it facing the forest, next to the pond. In this position, a beautiful view of the forest and the pond opens from the windows of the bathhouse. You can swim in the pond after the bath. Near the gazebo, where there is a large barbecue area. The customer and I gave this project the name GARDEN RANCH . Although, strictly speaking, there should be cattle on the ranch, and we only have chickens, but the name somehow stuck.

18. Lawn

In our project, the garden is divided into zones, which are united by one straight line passing through the house (the house is visible through the large glass doors). At the far end of the site is an agricultural area. Many beds have been laid out here, there is even a field for potatoes, pergolas for fruit vines have been installed. The garden has a regular layout. In the center of the composition, on a round platform, there is a decorative well. There are two greenhouses in this area. The project planned one, but in the process of work, we corrected the project. For storage of inventory, fertilizers, etc. we built a barn.

A very interesting element of our agricultural area is the chicken coop. It is designed for 20-30 chickens. Both the chicken coop and the barn are designed in the style of the house and painted the same green color. We approached the design of the chicken coop with great care. Everything was foreseen. The chickens will be comfortable here, and it will be convenient for people to serve it. The scheme of the chicken coop is given below in the photo gallery. It is planned to bring a bird here soon.

The reservoir area includes hills. They were formed from the soil excavated during the construction of the reservoir. Geoplastics greatly decorates the garden and helps to isolate this area from the rest. A staircase leads to the highest hill, and a bench is installed at the top. Weeping willows and irises are planted along the banks of the pond. Aquatic plants will also be planted. The company that built the reservoir left it with a powerful filtration system. A special house in the forest was built for the equipment.

There is a large round lawn between the house and the pond. It is crossed by a birch alley along the chord. This alley underlines our direct axis connecting all areas of the garden. Near the fence there is a place for a playground.

In front of the house, our axis rests on a cellar located on a hill. Below is the layout of the cellar. Above the cellar, we put a gazebo-belvedere, from which a beautiful view of the surroundings opens.

Within three months (January-March 2012), the design was completed, which included all the working drawings (including for the MAF), as well as visualization. Work began in April and was completed by 80% during the season.

The jeweler deftly picks up a small, pinhead-sized diamond with tweezers and carefully places it on the bezel of the forthcoming Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona platinum watch. The stone still protrudes a little above the others. The fixer carefully deepens the cast with a graver – now the stone protrudes less. The operation is repeated, on average three times, until the platform of the stone, that is, its upper face, is in the same plane with neighboring stones. In size, the stones differ so slightly from each other that this spread does not exceed two hundredths of a millimeter, which is four times less than the thickness of a human hair. The setting jeweler directs all his skill and all his experience to find the optimal position for the stone. When he finishes the work, a perfectly smooth sparkling circle of 36 diamonds forms on the bezel of the watch. This bezel alone can serve as a good illustration of how wide the range of skills and knowledge that Rolex masters possess is. The process of decorating jewelry watches begins with the purchase of the highest quality stones. Then the jewelers decide how best to serve these stones, because the art of setting is to fully reveal the play and beauty of each individual stone.

Precious Shine

Complementary work of gemologist and setter maximizes the brilliance of a diamond. The first carefully selects the stones, and the second fixes them in turn on the dial, bezel, case or bracelet. This skill, which requires extreme precision, is passed down from generation to generation, with the master honing his skills over the years.

CLEAN, CLEAR, SHINE

Rolex uses only the highest quality stones. be it a diamond, ruby, sapphire or emerald. The most important characteristics of a gemstone include cut (it must be geometrically accurate), as well as clarity, color and carat weight. Rolex’s deep knowledge of the secrets of jewelery begins to play a significant role from the very first steps, from checking the quality of stones, and remains a significant factor in all further stages – from improving the color of the stone to the actual setting process.

ADVANCED TESTING TECHNIQUES

Once Rolex has received its gemstones, it tests them with the utmost rigor according to an approved protocol, relying on both human experience and state-of-the-art equipment. Qualitative analysis is carried out in relation to diamonds and colored gemstones according to the same criteria. The quality of the cut – its symmetry and shape – determines how light will enter the stone and be reflected by the lower part, called the “pavilion”. That is, the cut directly affects the play of light. In diamonds, a good cut enhances the play of light and can even cause the white color to expand into a spectrum, resulting in iridescent highlights. Clarity is the absence of internal defects in a stone. Since a gemstone is a natural material, it is not surprising that it may have inclusions.

But Rolex only selects the purest stones. The last criterion – color – is always evaluated visually, which requires a keen and trained eye. Such an assessment is carried out by comparing the stone with standards. Rolex only uses the purest diamonds. Thanks to research carried out using special tools, including those developed by Rolex, all gemstones used by the brand are perfectly matched one to one and are of the same high quality.

PATIENCE OF THE SETTER

Selected gems are entrusted to the setting jewelers. It should be noted that this stage requires no less precision than the assembly of the clockwork. In their work, masters must take into account many aspects,

starting from the location and color of the stones, determined together with the designers. Then he works with the engineers who are responsible for the external elements of the watch, that is, for those parts that are not related to the clockwork.

Walking through Sleepy Hollow Elementary with Principal Chris Paddock means a barrage of high-fives, hugs and a few comments about the Larry Bird jersey he is wearing. In the halls of an elementary school, the principal is always somewhat of a celebrity. After a year and a half at Sleepy Hollow, Chris is used to it. And, he says the students are used to him and one of the most remarkable things about him–his height. “They don’t really bring it up much anymore but it was a hot topic there for a while,” Chris says. At seven feet tall, Chris is quite a presence. He recalls one of the first times he visited the school before becoming principal. “There are some kids by the front door and I’m assuming they’re waiting on a school bus. One kid turns around, looks at me, walks over to me, stares at my feet and then starts looking all the way up. And he’s leaning back and I’m thinking he’s about to fall over. And he says, ‘Mister, I don’t think you’re going to fit.’” Yes, Chris played basketball. And, yes, he was good at it. In fact, in both high school and college, Chris played with and against a list of legends in the making. Notably, Amarillo High basketball coach Jason Pillion, and future NBA players Andrae Patterson, Keith Van Horn, Andre Miller, Michael Doleac, Mike Bibby, Jason Terry and Allen Iverson. After winning a Western Athletic Conference championship as a college basketball player at the University of New Mexico (from which he still wears the championship ring- Chris tells us people often ask if it’s a Super Bowl ring) and a career in coaching that took him from Travis Middle School to Caprock High School to Wayland Baptist University, Chris has some very tall takeaways from the game that help guide his leadership. “I certainly don’t have all the answers. And I have to remember that the smartest person in the room is the room. Basketball taught me it isn’t about Chris. It’s about how can I help everybody who is on my team.”
