Lockwood and Company and Brass City to be made into TV series for Netflix

Not just one piece of news, but a whole crazy wave of exciting discoveries from
The Hollywood Reporter. English directors Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish with producers Nayra
Park and Rachel Pryor founded Complete Fiction. Industrial
veterans are planning to create content for an audience of ages within the studio
20+. And have already signed an exclusive deal with Netflix to produce three
fantasy series – based on the cult and popular books “Agency
Lockwood & Co., The Murders of Molly Southbourne and The City of Brass.
nine0003

And now about why all of the above is cool.

Edgar Wright filmed exclusively British genre films for many years.
movies – “Shaun of the Dead”, “Hot Fuzz”, “Armageddets” (The World’s End). And even typical Hollywood projects like “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and “Baby Driver” performed in his own unique manner.

Joe Cornish made his directorial debut with the sci-fi thriller Strangers in the Block
(Attack the Block), and then made a faded children’s fantasy “The Kid Who Would Be King”. nine0003

Nira Park and Rachel Pryor worked regularly with these directors. Yes
and in general, all four intersected on projects so often that they have long become
at least like-minded people.

Now to the projects. Lockwood & Company is a cycle of four
teen fantasy novels by famous writer Jonathan Stroud. AT
the center of the plot is a trinity of heroes who organize a private enterprise for
finding and trapping ghosts. Events take place in an alternative UK
of unknown times, which has been under invasion for more than a decade
ghosts that can kill. In the described world, there is television and
newspapers, but there is no Internet, evil spirits are neutralized by children and
teenagers are the only ones who can see paranormal entities. Wherein
solve problems with spirits with the help of old-fashioned ways. global conspiracy and
wars of corporations are attached. nine0003

“Molly Sausbourne” – a dilogy by the writer Thade Thompson, in which the main
the heroine is killed over and over again by her own double. And so on until
the girl will not understand how to break the time loop. It is planned that the output
sci-fi horror. And the author himself seems to be already writing
the third story in the cycle.

The City of Brass, aka The Daevabad Trilogy, is a semi-polar fantasy series of novels by Shannon Chakraborty that
received every possible award. When creating the world, the writer
was inspired by oriental tales, so the main character –
thief Nari – lives in Cairo, does not believe in the existence of magic, although
understands any languages and has regeneration. Randomly a thief calls
genie and finds himself at the center of court intrigues. And as a result, he learns the secret
of its origin. nine0003

All of the novels listed will become Netflix exclusive series. Timing
the beginning of the development of projects are not specified. But it is known that the director and
Joe Cornish will executive produce Lockwood & Co.

A traffic police officer from New Zealand was about to finish his shift when he was signaled by one of the cars passing by on the highway. The unsuspecting policeman approached the slowed down car – and, shocked, stopped: there were two and a half people in the cabin! nine0003

A woman was driving the honking car and her daughter was in the back seat. Moreover, when Paul Lockwood approached the car, the head already appeared. The officer barely had time to call an ambulance – and almost immediately after that a child was born, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the New Zealand agency NZPA.

Hearing the radio conversations, all the surrounding officers immediately became aware of what had happened. Police rules were temporarily forgotten, and after the “alert” on the radio, “It’s a boy!” Colleagues bombarded Lockwood with congratulations on the air. nine0003

The mother and newborn, alive and well, were taken to the hospital by an ambulance.

Lockwood said that nothing like this had ever happened to him in his entire year on the police force. “This is definitely an unusual case – not at all what you expect when you go to work,” he said.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Westford KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community.  Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Frequently Asked Questions

What accreditations does KinderCare have?

We are your trusted caregiver. Our centers are state-licensed and regularly inspected to make sure
everything meets or exceeds standards, including child-to-teacher ratios and safe facilities. Our
centers aren’t just licensed—most are accredited, too! Find out more.

Do you offer part-time schedules at Westford KinderCare?

Everybody’s schedule is different. We’re happy to offer quality, affordable part-time and full-time
childcare. Drop-in care may also be available. Reach out to your Center Director to learn more.

Are meals included in tuition? Can I choose to send my child with lunch?

We provide nutritious meals and snacks developed by a registered dietician to meet the needs of rapidly growing
bodies and minds. If your child has special dietary requirements and you would prefer to bring in
their lunch, please make arrangements with the center director.

Do you support alternative diets?

We strive to be as inclusive as possible. To that point, we provide a vegetarian option at mealtime,
take care to not serve common allergens and can adapt menus based on your child’s food
sensitivities. If your child has additional needs, we’ll work with you to figure out a plan.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Every child begins toilet learning at a different age. Until your child shows an interest in toilet
learning, we’ll provide diaper changes on an as-needed basis. When your child shows an interest,
we’ll discuss how to work
together to encourage toilet learning.

How does naptime work at Westford KinderCare?

Our teachers meet every child’s needs during naptime. Our teachers know how to get babies to nap.
In fact, they are pros at getting children of any age to nap. Visit our article on “10
Ways We Help Kids Get a Great Daycare Nap” to learn more.

Is tuition support offered for Massachusetts families at Westford KinderCare?

Child care is one of the biggest priorities—and expenses—for hardworking families like yours. We partner with state and local agencies in Massachusetts to provide tuition subsidies where we can, including the agency below:

  • Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care Child Care Financial Assistance

There may be other available funding sources for families living in Westford, Massachusetts and we have subsidy coordinators standing by that can discuss potential solutions for your family. Even if you are not subsidy eligible there may be other options in Middlesex County to help with tuition.

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • The teachers at KinderCare have been instrumental in our child’s growth and education. Our son not only has learned the alphabet and numbers but has also advanced in drawing, science, and social skills. His teachers are loving and caring. He enjoys the class environment and all activities on the daily basis.

Eliza and Christof S. – KinderCare Parent
  • Over this past weekend we had Nate’s birthday at the Acton Children’s Museum.  Most of his class (as well as a couple of their siblings) were able to come.   We wanted to let you know that after the party was done we were cleaning up with the museum staff and they commented on what a great group of kids they were, how well behaved they were, and how well they all played together and helped each other.  We told them that most of them had been going to school together since they were babies and that we certainly owe so much to KinderCare for instilling those values in them.  They said you could certainly tell that KinderCare was doing a great job with them because these kids were all so well behaved and respectful, both of the folks at the museum and of each other.
We have plenty of play dates with the kids from KinderCare and see that behavior all the time but I’m sure Janice and I take it for granted because we see it so often.  When the museum staff brought it to our attention we were reminded of it and wanted to send a note to thank you for all that you and your staff do.  Nate and his classmates have had several teachers over the course of their time at KinderCare and every single one of them have done such a wonderful job to make these kids what they are.
    Thanks again!

    Rob Simler – KinderCare Parent
  • Ryan is a happy boy with lots of laughs.  He likes the color green, loves buses and other toy vehicles, and his favorite song is ‘Wheels on the Bus.’  He is also an energetic child and likes to jump and move around.
Ryan likes staying here at KinderCare.  Thanks to all the teachers to make KinderCare another home for Ryan to play, learn, and grow.

    Liming Sun – KinderCare Parent
  • My son loves coming to school everyday. The first thing he asks when he wakes up is if there is school today. He has learned so much and continues to learn more each day. You can tell the staff loves what they do and are always very engaged all the time. My son also enjoys going to Cooking class each week.

Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works

Apache2 Debian Default Page

This is the default welcome page used to test the correct
operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Debian systems.
If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at
this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at
/var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.

If you are a normal user of this web site and don’t know what this page is
about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to
maintenance.
If the problem persists, please contact the site’s administrator.

Debian’s Apache2 default configuration is different from the
upstream default configuration, and split into several files optimized for
interaction with Debian tools. The configuration system is
fully documented in
/usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian.gz
. Refer to this for the full
documentation. Documentation for the web server itself can be
found by accessing the manual if the apache2-doc
package was installed on this server.

The configuration layout for an Apache2 web server installation on Debian systems is as follows:

/etc/apache2/
|-- apache2.conf
| `-- ports.conf
|-- mods-enabled
| |-- *.load
| `-- *.conf
|-- conf-enabled
| `-- *.conf
|-- sites-enabled
| `-- *.conf

  • apache2. conf is the main configuration
file. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining configuration
files when starting up the web server.
  • ports.conf is always included from the
main configuration file. It is used to determine the listening ports for
incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
  • Configuration files in the mods-enabled/,
    conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/ directories contain
particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration
fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively.
  • They are activated by symlinking available
    configuration files from their respective
*-available/ counterparts. These should be managed
    by using our helpers

    a2enmod,
    a2dismod,

    a2ensite,
    a2dissite,

    and

    a2enconf,
    a2disconf
. See their respective man pages for detailed information.

  • The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of
environment variables, in the default configuration, apache2 needs to be
    started/stopped with /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl.
Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not work with the
    default configuration.

By default, Debian does not allow access through the web browser to
any file apart of those located in /var/www,
public_html
directories (when enabled) and /usr/share (for web
applications). If your site is using a web document root
located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your
document root directory in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf.

The default Debian document root is /var/www/html. You
can make your own virtual hosts under /var/www. This is different
to previous releases which provides better security out of the box.

Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs in the
Apache2 package with Debian. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.

Please report bugs specific to modules (such as PHP and others)
to respective packages, not to the web server itself.

What is

for, how to choose and use it?

Thermal water for the face: what is it?

Thermal water is water with a high content of trace elements and mineral salts from underground hydrothermal springs that flow at a depth of about 4-5 km and are heated by the Earth’s volcanic activity (magma).

Thermal water is extracted from the bowels of the earth by drilling wells. Its composition depends on the depth of the hot springs and their location: the deeper the waters are located, the higher their mineralization.

What is thermal water for?

The main difference between thermal water and mineral water lies in the way it is used: the first is used externally, the second is taken orally for medicinal purposes. Due to its highly concentrated composition, thermal water quickly penetrates the dermis and has a regenerating, soothing, firming effect on the skin and has no contraindications.

Why do we need thermal water for the face? Thanks to its soothing properties, the volcanic liquid can visibly relieve irritation and inflammation, reduce redness, normalize skin pH, and also has a pronounced antioxidant effect and protects cells from the negative effects of free radicals.

Thermal water is a part of pharmacy cosmetics, including being added to the basis of formulas for anti-aging products and products for oily and problem skin. Most often in cosmetology, thermal water is used as an independent care product.

Skin benefits

Due to its unique healing properties, this natural product has been valued in cosmetology and medicine for more than a century.

The benefits of using thermal water for the skin are undeniable:

  • Refreshes, moisturizes and prevents transepidermal moisture loss, softens the skin;
  • Prevents age-related changes;
  • Soothes the skin, relieves irritation, minimizes discomfort and restores after prolonged sun exposure or traumatic cosmetic procedures;
  • Helps cells resist oxidative stress and forms a defense against free radicals;
  • Has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and regenerating effects;
  • Normalizes the pH balance of the skin;
  • Reduces excessive shine of the face, absorbs sebum;
  • Removes the feeling of skin tightness after washing;
  • Reduces tissue swelling;
  • Improves the metabolic processes of the skin and saturates it with oxygen;
  • Fixes and prolongs the wear of make-up.

The composition of thermal water

In cosmetology, there are three types of biological water that meet the different needs of the skin: hypotonic, isotonic, hypertonic. All three species are distinguished by their mineral composition, a set of healing components and their beneficial properties.

  1. Hypotonic
Hypotonic water has a slightly mineralized composition: the content of microelements is less than 9 mg/l. This type of thermal water is considered the softest due to the low salt content and is suitable for reactive, sensitive skin: it effectively relieves inflammation, irritation and does not cause dryness.
  2. Isotonic
The concentration of mineral substances in the composition of water is 9-11 mg/l, which is comparable to the level of salt content in skin cells and tissue fluids. Such a cosmetic product has a neutral pH (neutral acidity), soothes and tones the skin well. The product is universal and suitable for any type of skin, mainly used for the care of normal and dry skin.
  3. Hypertonic
Hypertonic water has a highly mineralized composition: the content of microelements is more than 11 mg/l. This type of thermal water absorbs sebum well, reduces the oily sheen of the face and is suitable for the care of oily and problematic skin types. It helps to balance the acid-base balance of the skin associated with the oxidation of excess sebum, improves cell metabolism, prevents the development of pathogenic flora and acne recurrence.

How to choose thermal water for the face?

As with any cosmetic product, thermal water is chosen according to the needs and type of skin. Depending on the composition, the product has its pros and cons, for example, highly concentrated water with a high content of mineral salts may be too “hard” for allergic skin, and the isotonic look will be “soft” for oily type.

Recommendations on how to choose thermal water for the face according to skin type:

  • For oily and problematic skin
Thermal water with a high content of sodium, sulfur and zinc is suitable for thick, oily skin with a predisposition to rashes. The listed microelements mattify the skin well and have anti-inflammatory properties, dry out acne and increase the protective properties of the dermis.
  • Dry skin
Thermal water with a high content of trace elements maintains the water and mineral balance of the skin, prevents cells from dehydration, retaining moisture in them. The composition of the formula for dry skin may also additionally include hyaluronic acid.
  • Sensitive skin
For reactive and hypersensitive skin, choose thermal water with silicon, selenium and neutral pH, which quickly soothes the skin, relieves irritation, itching and restores skin comfort.
  • For normal
The brackish-tasting thermal water is rich in sodium and potassium, ideal for normal skin types.
  • For mature skin
Thermal water containing selenium, a natural antioxidant, is suitable for anti-aging care: it will help cells resist oxidative stress and protect against premature aging.

Rating of the best products based on La Roche-Posay thermal water

Consider the TOP-5 pharmacy products based on La Roche-Posay thermal water, which perform similar functions: moisturizing, protecting, healing, skin regeneration.

What does this mean? Serum visibly reduces the discomfort of irritated skin and activates the natural protective functions of the skin. Owners of hypersensitive skin can use the product as a make-up base.

Soothing tonic

Who needs it? Soothing toner removes make-up from sensitive skin of the face and around the eyes, has a calming effect. If your skin is prone to irritation and you want to further tone and soothe it after removing makeup with another product, this toner is perfect for you.

How to use thermal water for face and body?

It is believed that thermal water can be simply sprayed on the face to provide the skin with freshness and comfort. But this is not the only possible way to use the tool. Also, by spraying a mineralizing composition with a high salt content, you risk causing tightness and dryness of the epidermis. To avoid this, take the advice of experts.

How to use the thermal water correctly:

  1. Spray the water onto cleansed skin and after 2-3 minutes gently wipe the skin with a clean paper towel to remove excess product.
  2. If a base moisturizer is applied over the thermal water, it will “seal” the trace elements and significantly enhance their effect.
  3. In addition to moisturizing the skin (relevant for overdried skin), spraying thermal water after washing and subsequent application of tonic will help. In this case, the mineralizing composition will serve as a conductor and enhancer of the active ingredients in the composition of the basic caring cosmetics (cream, serum), which should be applied next.
  4. If you use thermal water during sports training (sprayed at a distance of 50 cm from the face and décolleté), the skin will maintain its tone, which will give you a feeling of comfort (instant skin refreshment).
  5. Thermal water can also be used instead of tonic, on pre-cleansed skin.
  6. Cotton pads impregnated with a mineralizing composition will help relieve fatigue from the eyes: put the pads moistened with water on closed eyelids for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Inflammation from the skin will help to remove the application of a cosmetic tissue soaked in water: apply this mask on your face for 10-20 minutes.
  8. In summer, use thermal water to hydrate and refresh your skin. In winter, being in a heated room, the product will also protect the skin from dehydration and tightness.

Vichy hot springs, in Auvergne, heal health and improve well-being in Vichy

Thermal water, flowing from the very depths of the earth, takes its beneficial properties from the rocks. Thanks to the wealth of volcanic soils, the Auvergne has produced many springs that help to combat various problems. Here you can find wellness programs for several weeks and recover within a few days, but certainly the resorts and thermal springs of the region will not leave you indifferent.

All in one in Châtel-Guyon

From 2020, Therme Henri de Châtel Guyon will give way to an all-in-one wellness facility. The Aïga Resort complex will consist of a thermal center, a thermal spa, a four-star hotel, a restaurant and a research center. At the moment, in anticipation of the opening of this complex, the European thermal spa is famous for treating gastroenterological problems with its sources, especially rich in magnesium.

The resort with its four springs is famous as one of the best wellness resorts to help get rid of various pain sensations. As for wellness, it is worth enjoying the healing properties of water under the wooden dome of the Royatonic Thermal Spa, which will be expanded this year.

The Baths of Châteauneuf-les-Bains is a haven of tranquility in the heart of nature. In addition to the classic 18-day program, they offer a weekly format that combines hydrotherapy and kinesitherapy. In addition to its privileged geographic location, this Belle Epoque resort boasts immune-boosting water. Enjoy its virtues under the neo-Byzantine dome of the Great Thermae, before heading out to breathe in the 12-hectare landscape park, the true lungs of the city.

Ignore the austerity of the volcanic stone façade. As soon as you get to the thermal resort of Mont-Dore, you will be incredibly surprised by the colorful paintings and frescoes, the domes of this building, inspired by the Byzantine style, the Romans and Art Deco. This establishment, classified as a historical monument, pays special attention to the respiratory tract and rheumatological pathologies: the waters flowing from the volcanic lava vein deal with them especially effectively.

Michigan school shooting: 15-year-old assailant shot and killed four students

In recent years, shootings in American schools have increased markedly

USA. nine0014

The victims of the attack were a 16-year-old schoolboy and girls aged 14 and 17. Later, another 17-year-old schoolboy died from his wounds in the hospital. Another six injured teenagers, most of whom are described as stable, are in the hospital. The teacher, who was shot in the shoulder, was discharged from the hospital.

According to police, the shooter used a semi-automatic pistol that his father bought last Friday.

The Michigan Attorney has already said she intends to charge the shooter with four murders and an act of terrorism causing death, and is considering filing charges against the shooter’s parents. nine0005

The exact sequence of events remains unclear: investigators believe that the teenager may have brought the gun in his backpack and obtained it in the school bathroom. Schoolchildren said that during the attack they hid under their desks.

The first calls to the police from a high school in Oxford, 65 kilometers from Detroit, came in at 12:51 local time. Within minutes, the 911 emergency number received over a hundred calls.

The shooter surrendered five minutes after a group of police surrounded him in the hallway. The police said that during the detention, the teenager did not resist and was not injured himself. During the arrest, a pistol was found in his possession, in which seven cartridges remained. nine0005

  • Shooting at an American school in Tennessee. One person killed
  • Texas school shooting: 10 people killed
  • Kazan school shooting: seven children and two adults killed

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said that so far the investigation has not been able to explain what could have caused this ” heinous and unforgivable” attack, adding that the shooter refused to cooperate with the investigation. According to police, the parents told the attacker not to communicate with law enforcement; his house was searched. “The person who knows the most about what happened is silent,” the sheriff said. nine0005

All schools in the district will be closed until the end of the week, students and parents will receive psychological assistance.

According to the local newspaper Detroit Free Press, there were rumors of a possible attack at the school a couple of days before the incident, and some students decided to stay at home on Tuesday.

something bad is going to happen.” nine0005

Robin Reddin, a local resident, told the Associated Press that her son also missed classes due to safety concerns. “Today he was not at school, he just said: Mom, I have a bad feeling. None of the guys with whom we usually go to classes went to school today.

The police warned against speculation until the investigation was completed. President Joe Biden expressed his condolences to the students and their families.

According to the gun control organization Everytown, shootings in American schools have increased markedly in recent years, with 138 attempted armed attacks recorded in 2021 alone. nine0005

WASHINGTON, Dec 1 – RIA Novosti. Three people were killed and eight injured in a school shooting in Oxford, Michigan, police said. Previously, six people were injured. According to a representative of the sheriff’s office, the dead were between 14 and 17 years old. It is still unclear to law enforcement officers what motivated the attackers. “The motive is not yet known,” said a law enforcement official. The shooting took place at a school on Tuesday in the middle of the day. Five minutes after the emergency signal was received, the attacker was detained by the police, he lowered his gun and surrendered himself. The shooter turned out to be a 15-year-old school student, he was armed with a semi-automatic pistol, having managed to shoot an entire magazine and reload. The incident was reported to US President Joe Biden. nine0005

The wedding ceremony of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles lasted about 15 minutes. nine0003

Smiling newlyweds left the Windsor City Hall arm in arm at around 1 pm local time (4 pm Moscow time). They wore new wedding rings on their ring fingers.

Hundreds of people gathered on the streets adjacent to the town hall and Windsor Castle greeted the couple with deafening shouts of joy and waved British flags.

Prince Charles became the first member of the British royal family to marry in a civil ceremony rather than a church one. Due to the fact that both he and Camilla are divorced people, they could not get married in a church. nine0003

However, after the civil marriage ceremony, the couple headed down the streets of Windsor to St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, where Queen Elizabeth II and Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams would give the newlyweds their church blessing.

For each other: the horror film “Hide” shows the will of two kidnapped boys who do not want to surrender to maniac slavers

On Wednesday, January 4, the Shocking TV channel will show the horror film Hide, directed by David Charbonnier and Justin Powell. Starring Lonnie Chavis, Ezra Dewey and Kristin Bauer. “Shocking” is a TV channel of Tricolor’s own production, available to viewers both on satellite and via the Internet in the Tricolor Cinema and TV online cinema. The broadcast of the channel in good quality is available here .

Bobby and Kevin are those best friends from childhood who have a whole small world for two. Not only do they spend all their time together, but they also plan to run away to California together in the future. Once, when the guys were playing baseball outdoors, they were kidnapped in turn by some scumbags who managed to take them to a country house in the middle of nowhere. And if Bobby managed to get out of captivity, then Kevin remained shackled. Despite the terrible ordeal, Bobby resists the temptation to leave a friend in need and tries to rescue him. Hiding in all the nooks and crannies of the house, he either tries to call the police on the old drum phone, which he saw for the first time in his life, or confront the maniacs, whose intentions remain a terrible mystery.
nine0003

Hide Out is a psychological horror film with a hefty dose of thriller that follows the misadventures of two kidnapped boys. This film is the creative debut of the directorial duo David Charbonnier and Justin Powell , who first made a film from their own co-written script in 2020. The first work was given to two novice creators extremely hard: for a long time they were refused by various film companies. An attempt to raise money on their own also failed, and in the end they were rescued by an experienced director and producer Richard Rosenthal , who also filmed the second part of “Halloween” and “The Russians”. The location for the filming of “Hide” was California, which was just constantly talked about by two friends: almost all the events were depicted in the town of Culver City. In the same year, Powell and Charbonnier made their second film, The Genie’s Spell, which once again showed the hardships of a little boy in the spotlight, but this time with a completely mystical persuasion.

The main roles in “Hide” were played by very young Lonnie Chavis and Ezra Dewey . For both, this film gave a great start to their film careers: Chavis had previously starred in the series This Is Us and Supergirl, and then played the main role in the family-adventure film The Water Man. Dewey liked the directors so much that he played the main character in their second film, the already mentioned Genie Spell, and before that he had experience in the TV series Criminal Minds. Two adult roles went to Kristin Bauer and Mika Hauptman . The Californian actress is best known for her roles in Colombo and Desperate Housewives as well as A Drop of True Blood and Bones. Among the feature films in Bauer’s resume, the thriller “Under the Cover of Night” stands out. Hampton can be remembered from films such as Iron Man, Everest and Parker, but the viewer knows him best from the popular series Supernatural, Lie to Me, Homeland and Masters of Sex.

“Hide” was released on September 27, 2020.

HOPE CHURCH PRESCHOOL

Our preschool’s curriculum emphasizes hands-on, play-oriented learning. Our teachers encourage children to learn by doing through play. In the infant/toddler classes, babies learn to separate from their parents and have their first social interactions. The one-year olds become better at sharing and are exposed to art and literature.  Beginning with our two-year-old class, monthly units expose children to a variety of materials related to a theme. Specific goals and curriculum are established for each age group.

CONTACT OR TAKE A TOUR

If you would like to tour our program and register for the 2023-2024 school year, please email our HPS Enrollment Administrator Christine Estes, christine. [email protected], or call 901-844-4673 to schedule a tour.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Our Memphis area preschool takes place in a clean, safe facility where your child can learn from a wealth of materials while also having fun and acting like a kid. Our varied curriculum provides many different kinds of experiences for your child in order to promote physical, social, emotional, cognitive and spiritual development. We offer plenty of time for your child to try new things and learn at his or her own pace. We also keep child/teacher ratios low so teachers can offer individualized attention.

TRANSITIONAL CLASS

Hope’s transitional class is a program specifically designed to meet the needs of students who have completed a four-year old program, yet are not quite ready for kindergarten. These children may have a late birthday that exceeds school cutoff or may need another year for social, emotional, intellectual or physical growth. The day is organized like a regular kindergarten class, but expands creative exploration to help the children develop confidence socially and academically. Due to the unique nature of this classroom, the teacher is able to develop more individualized plans based on each child’s ability. A personalized curriculum allows each child to move forward at their own pace fostering the confidence needed to succeed in kindergarten.

Lie low in a bunker: how to legitimize and build a bomb shelter in Russia

    House for Doomsday

Bunkers and shelters have become popular again in 2019 amid the COVID-19 epidemic. Now the fighting on the territory of Ukraine and the mobilization announced in Russia are causing anxiety and a desire to protect oneself with strong walls.

Bomb shelters were widespread during World War II. In the USSR, such facilities were built in conditions of increased secrecy, it was impossible for ordinary citizens to get into them. Moreover, the builders were required to write non-disclosure receipts for the geolocation and technology of building bunkers for decades to come. At the same time, in some cities, metro stations were used as bomb shelters, for example, in St. Petersburg. The deepest subway in the world is in the northern capital. nine0007

Today, the demand for air-raid shelters is mainly fueled by the most concerned citizens and individual entrepreneurs who rent them out. The legal status of bunkers in Russia is regulated by three main regulatory documents:

    1. Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 29, 1999 N 1309 “On the procedure for creating shelters and other civil defense facilities” (as amended and supplemented). At the same time, there is no such thing as a “bomb shelter” there. But there is a definition of shelter or fallout shelter; nine0014
    2. Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 359 dated April 23, 1994, which specifies the procedure for the operation of the structure and the property of the civil defense located inside by enterprises, organizations and other institutions;
    3. Order of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation No. 583 of December 15, 2002, which approves the rules for the use of all premises for civil defense purposes.

“The construction and commissioning of a bomb shelter is carried out by analogy with any other construction project – according to the Town Planning Code of the Russian Federation. Only additional extended approval and acceptance by the local authority of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is added, ”adds real estate lawyer Eduard Hakobyan. nine0007

According to the above regulations, a shelter is a civil defense protective structure designed to protect nuclear and chemical weapons and conventional weapons, bacterial (biological) agents and damaging concentrations of emergency chemically hazardous substances sheltered during the standard time from the estimated impact of damaging factors.

    I found a bomb shelter!

The establishment of air-raid shelters in cities is regulated primarily by Cabinet Decree No. 1309. Thus, federal and regional authorities determine the general need for civil defense facilities, create them, maintain and maintain them.

Candidate of Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Legal Regulation of Economic Activities of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Oksana Vasilyeva argues that the unauthorized use of abandoned bomb shelters is illegal, and privatization is impossible, since they are covered by a special legal status and are in federal ownership. nine0007

“Relatively recently, in 2020, the Supreme Court ruled that even an unregistered bomb shelter would automatically become federal property when discovered. In any case, you can try to legitimize the fact of its use in the format of rent or purchase. The filing of such applications and appeals is not prohibited,” she notes.

As a general rule, the City will not issue a permit for the use of an abandoned bomb shelter as a nightclub or other entertainment facility. At the same time, you can find many offers on the Web about excursions to abandoned Soviet bunkers and even hold parties in them. nine0007

In the USSR, civil defense facilities were given a special status and importance, their creation and use were under special control of the state. Therefore, no one had problems with the form of ownership and intended use. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, most of the state-owned enterprises were privatized along with all the facilities adjacent to it. Therefore, a number of bomb shelters fell out of state control, passed into private hands and were used for other purposes. nine0007

“City officials are not entitled to participate in the coordination of projects in relation to civil defense facilities, since they have a dual “subordination structure”. On the one hand, the Federal Agency for Property Management acts as an authorized representative of the owner (RF), and on the other hand, the Ministry of Emergency Situations as a structure responsible for the strategic management of these facilities, ”says Elena Chepko, lawyer at Intelservice Consulting.

Based on the practice of lawyers, we can conclude that any protective structure found by citizens, which at first glance seems to be ownerless, must be notified to local authorities. If a citizen intends to use the building for personal purposes, arrange a lease or buy it out, you need to obtain the appropriate permission from the authorities. nine0007

    Help yourself

In Russia, it is impossible for an individual to independently build a shelter that has the official legal status of a shelter. In domestic law, there are simply no legal categories of “private bomb shelter” or “bomb shelter for personal use,” lawyers explain.

“Of course, according to the Civil Code of the Russian Federation, the owner has the right to use the land plot belonging to him at his own discretion, there are no restrictions on this side. But in order to build a full-fledged object, referred to as a shelter, you will need to comply with a huge number of requirements, including technical ones. So, for a full-fledged placement of an object, a deepening of 8 or more meters will be required, ”says lawyer Elena Chepko. nine0007

Here, a citizen who decides to build a bomb shelter will face significant difficulties. Article 19 of the Law “On Subsoil” states that from owners of land plots, land users, land owners, tenants of land plots have the right to carry out construction of underground structures within the boundaries of these land plots without the use of blasting works to a depth of only up to five meters . Otherwise, you can build a small bunker or build a basement in the house. nine0054

As for the taxes for the bomb shelter, in principle, you do not have to pay them, since according to the law it can only be owned by the state.

No matter how strong and reliable the structure is, it is unlikely to provide complete protection against any emergency. This is also understood by Russian scientists from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, who presented a project for a space shelter on the Moon in the basalt rocks of the satellite. True, they offer cultural values, not people, to protect against cataclysms. nine0007

Professor of the Department of Population and Territory Protection Nikolai Ivanovich Sedykh conducted a practical lesson. nine0007

    – 72 hours are required for students to study the program in the discipline “Life Safety” (BZhD) and understand the issues of designing a protective structure, its arrangement and ensuring the safety of the population of the capital. The knowledge gained about the layout of the shelter will help the children complete design tests. Students will learn to count the possibilities of the microdistrict to protect the population (for educational purposes). In practice, students will get acquainted with the layout of a protective structure, its technical equipment and operating rules. After graduation, many guys will get to work in the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation and local governments, where in their daily activities they will organize meetings with people on issues of civil defense and protection of the population,” the professor commented. nine0007

The specialists of the State Unitary Enterprise of the City of Moscow “Special Enterprise under the Government of Moscow” showed the students how the protective structure of the city of Moscow functions and how it is equipped.

    — Educational material is remembered better visually, therefore, all the premises of the ES GO were opened for a practical lesson for students. It’s nice to see educated young people who are interested in civil defense issues, – Ivan Oprea, head of the section, explained.

Students were interested in everything – systems that allow surviving in hermetically sealed rooms, special equipment and life support issues for people.

“When you see with your own eyes how the protective structure is equipped and what equipment it is equipped with, you immediately begin to understand how the people who arrived here are sheltered,” shared a student of group 3119 “G” Yegor Yemelin.

During the classes, teacher Nikolai Ivanovich once again drew the attention of the children to the reliability of protection in shelters, which is achieved through powerful enclosing structures and concrete ceilings, multi-ton metal doors and a ventilation system. In several rooms there is equipment necessary for the autonomous operation of the protective structure – a diesel generator, an air filter system, a sanitary unit with a pumping station. nine0007

The professor emphasized that all conditions have been created in the protective structure so that people can feel safe and are provided with everything for normal life. There is a storage room for drinking and industrial water, toilets, two- and three-story bunks, a communication point, a first-aid post, and emergency exits. The students asked if it was possible to hide more of those who were sheltering than expected.

    – It is possible if people are compacted, i.e. additionally place another twenty percent of the total number of those sheltered in the AP GO,” answered Nikolai Ivanovich. – For example, if you count, then the number of people sheltered for this ZS GO will be one thousand eight hundred people. nine0007

While summarizing the teaching material, the teacher asked the students to share their impressions of the practice.

Irina Nikora, a student of group 3119 “G”, said: I will remember the practical lesson for a long time, now I have an idea of how the protective structure of civil defense is equipped. Many residents of Moscow do not even suspect that some protective structures are located in their homes and are used for car parking or workshops. I will definitely share this news with my friends and relatives.” nine0007

“In Ulaanbaatar, where I work as a firefighter, there are no similar civil defense structures. I know what security is when I participate in rescuing people during a fire, but I haven’t seen the protective structures of civil defense, where the safety of a large number of sheltered people is ensured. In the course of the practical lesson, everything became clear and understandable, where and how the sheltered are located. And I was also curious to see how tightness is observed in ZS GO. It turns out that special hermetic gates and hermetic doors were installed for this purpose, capable of holding a nuclear wave with an impact of up to 16 kilotons of TNT, and tightness is ensured by sealing rubber, which prevents the penetration of explosion products and contaminated air.
