Campus Life
Living on campus
Living on campus is a proven way to help students succeed academically, connect with
their peers and engage with campus life. That’s why UAF recommends all first-year
students live on campus. Fun fact: UAF’s residence halls are the only ones in the
nation to boast a view of the Alaska Range and Denali — the highest peak in North
America.
Residence Life
Dining on campus
UAF offers a variety of dining locations for students — both living on campus and
commuting to campus. Wood Center’s Dine 49 facility has several types of fare, including
Mongolian grill, homestyle meals, deli sandwiches and wraps, pizza and pasta, and
a salad bar. At Arctic Java, UAF’s main coffee spot, students enjoy early-morning
and late-evening service, as well as special events and programs on the coffee house
stage. Other retail options available at Wood Center include freshly-made sushi and
American favorites off the grill.

Health and Counseling
The mission of the UAF Student Health and Counseling Center is to help all UAF students
connect to the resources they need to ensure their mental, physical and emotional
health on campus. Health and Counseling offers multiple services right on campus,
including medical care and counseling with the student insurance plan.

Campus Safety
UAF proudly keeps a safe and secure campus, with our own police force right next door
to the UAF residence halls. For more information about safety, crime statistics and
the campus police visit the UAF Police website. The UAF police force offers several
safety services, including police escorts. Campus Parking Services even offers vehicle
jumpstarts.

Get behind the wheel for a road trip, full of history and fun, that links two U.S. East Coast cities – Washington, DC and New York. Your family journey begins in the nation’s capital, where the staff of Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC, greets young guests with in-room amenities such as kid-size robes and slippers.
A trip to the U.S. capital is a vivid lesson for every school-age kid. There are countless museums to suit every child’s interest, such as the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, The National Air and Space Museum, and The International Spy Museum. The Hotel can also book a private tour for you around historical sites like the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial.

After a day packed with exploring, the team at the Hotel welcomes you and your family back with more fun. “Seeing the smile on a kid’s face as I wheel out our little red wagon filled with games, treats and toys makes my day, every single time,” says Guest Relations Manager Colin Moneymaker. “Between our life-size chessboard in the garden to our mural painting workshops at brunch, I have so much fun showing off all that there is to do for kids at our property.”
Consider a coastal detour on your way to New York City. Seafood restaurants, laid-back beaches and iconic lighthouses punctuate the drive if you go by way of Annapolis and Kent Island, Maryland, and cut through Delaware.

Once in the Big Apple, check into Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown, a block from City Hall Park. Tickets for a ferry ride around the Statue of Liberty can be waiting for your arrival. Explore the nearby Oculus (aka Westfield World Trade Center), the elegant transportation and shopping hub designed by Santiago Calatrava, “and be sure to stop by Eataly for gelato,” says Guest Services Manager Daniel Gomez.

This Midwestern metropolis comes alive during the summer and fall, an ideal weekend destination for all ages. Four Seasons Hotel Chicago is located on the Magnificent Mile, a perfect jumping-off point for the city’s top attractions.
“I always suggest families take advantage of the many waterfront activities available to them, whether it’s an architecture boat tour on the Chicago River, biking along the 18-mile Lakefront Trail or enjoying a meal at one of the many beach cafés,” says Chef Concierge Kristen Klus. When your family returns to the Hotel, schedule the popular ice cream cart service and surprise the kids with a make-your-own-sundae experience. The cherry on top? A cool-down in the Hotel’s 50-foot Roman-inspired pool.

When Sunday rolls around, start the day with a Sunday Side Up brunch at Allium Restaurant. “Fuel up and head to Lincoln Park Zoo, which is free 365 days a year,” says Executive Sous-Chef Tristan Baker. “Keeping on the animal theme, venture to the Shedd Aquarium, one of the first inland aquariums in the world with 32,000 animals.” Finish off the ideal weekend with a Ferris wheel ride at Navy Pier, showcasing wide-angle views of Chicago’s skyline and Lake Michigan.

What better place for a peaceful weekend retreat than Jackson Hole, Wyoming? “There is something truly magical about Jackson Hole,” says Director of Marketing Cory Carlson. “The vast mountains, the wide-open skies, the thriving wildlife and the night sky akin to an illuminated canopy of stars create lasting memories for the whole family. ”

At Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole, kids can clamber around in the outdoor ropes course while parents enjoy the heated outdoor pool. From 5:00 to 8:00 pm, the whole family can head to the Commons for free live music (dancing is strongly encouraged). End the night with a kit for s’mores ready to be roasted by the outdoor fireplaces.
“Children of all ages can enjoy the wonder and beauty of the area,” says Chef Concierge and Member Les Clefs d’Or USA Hope Maloney, “whether on a hike in Grand Teton National Park, riding the aerial tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain or seeing Old Faithful erupt.”

Directly outside your back door is the Wildflower Trail, an intermediate hike for families to enjoy together. And the national park is just a mile away – ask the Hotel can arrange for a local ranger to lead young visitors through and talk about wildlife preservation and safety.

The Golden City is an ideal urban retreat, especially for travellers looking for moderate temperatures – almost surrounded by water, the city is often the coolest spot in California. As for the indoors, at Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco the family can spread out in connecting rooms or an executive suite. Make sure to ask for kid-size duvets and blankets, as well as popular in-room tents.
“From here, you’re well positioned for a walk across the Golden Gate Bridge,” says Chef Concierge Andreas Rippel, “as well as a post-museum trip to Lappert’s for ice cream.” He can round up advance tickets to the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, home to a four-storey rainforest and an aquarium that houses a 200,000-plus-gallon coral reef fish tank.

Close by, ascend the de Young Museum’s Hamon Tower – aspiring photographers can focus on the surrounding cityscape – and investigate the Koret Children’s Quarter Playground, where kids and grown-ups delight in trips down the jumbo concrete slides. By day’s end, those blankets and tents are going to look especially inviting.

4 Seasons of the Year – Gifographic for Kids
When we think of the seasons of the year, we usually think of the climate that accompanies it. Summer is hot, winter is cold. And the monsoon, well, it’s wet. But have you wondered why the seasons occur at all? And how different areas experience these seasons at different times? In fact, some places don’t have a distinct monsoon at all.
Four Seasons of the Year
There are mainly four seasons of the year – Summer, winter, autumn and spring. Each of these is accompanied by a change in the weather and the surrounding environment.
What is Spring?
Spring is the beginning of the cycle. New vegetation grows, and the weather is generally warm and sunny. Sometimes it rains in spring. It’s the time when the plants and animals come alive and out of hibernation.
What is Summer?
Summer is the hot weather season. Temperatures run highest in summer, accompanied by, depending on the location, extreme humidity or dryness. It is also a time for heat waves and droughts, and even forest fires in some areas. Summer is a time for long days.
What is Autumn?
Autumn marks the beginning of cool weather. It is the time when leaves turn yellow/brown, and animals begin preparations because “winter is coming”. It is also harvest season, which is a cause for celebration in most cultures.
What is Winter?
Winter is the coldest period of the year. The time when animals hibernate, and vegetation decreases. There is a general lull in the environment and in areas where it snows, it is snowman time. The days are shortest in winter.
What causes the change of seasons?
Now we come to the why behind the seasons. There are two major factors that influence the seasons you experience. They are –
Tilt of the earth’s axis as it orbits the sun
Your location on earth
Why are seasons different around the world?
We know that different areas on earth experience the seasons at different times. This means that when people in the northern hemisphere experience winter, the people in the southern hemisphere experience summer.
Which hemisphere experiences which season depends on the axial tilt of the earth. The earth’s spin axis is tilted at an angle of around 23.5 degrees. Thus, the side of the earth that is tilted towards the sun as it revolves around it experiences summer, while the opposite side experiences winter. In some locations, the earth isn’t tilted towards or away from the sun. At these times, these regions experience spring and autumn.
We’ve often heard that the poles experience 6 months of summer followed by months of winter. Considering this, shouldn’t the snow at the poles melt in the summer? This again is avoided because of the earth’s tilted axis. Even as the earth spins, the poles don’t move. Hence, they never face the sun directly. This means it never gets warm enough for the snow at the poles to melt. And thus, our poles always remain cold and experience frigid winters. On the other hand, the equatorial region of the sun-facing hemisphere gets maximum sun-exposure, and thus experiences hotter summers.
The seasons of the year are yet another amazing aspect of life on earth. They add variety to our time here and let us experience activities like swimming and surfing in warm weather and building snowmen and skiing in cold weather.
Holidays with children / Travel agency Kirov “Four Seasons” Kirov
Holidays with infants
We must pay tribute to the courage of people who go on vacation with babies. If you still decide to travel, then remember the main rules: no long journeys, resorts with a mild climate, the availability of the necessary conditions for feeding, changing clothes, etc. The best choice would be the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory, which are traditionally the center of family tourism. Many boarding houses and sanatoriums have a developed infrastructure for families with children, including with such babies: playpens, cribs, strollers, etc. In this case, there will be fewer problems with finding the usual food, in addition, many boarding houses offer a specialized children’s menu. Speaking of the children’s menu, when reading descriptions of foreign hotels, one can quite often notice mentions of such a service, but, unfortunately, the “children’s menu” usually implies various fast food and sweets (fries, popcorn, chocolate bars, etc.) , therefore, about the availability of real baby food, check with managers when choosing hotels. You can read a little about such hotels in Turkey and Egypt in the articles: “Hotels with baby food in Turkey” and “Hotels with baby food in Egypt”. Be that as it may, when choosing foreign resorts, you will face another problem – air travel with a small child, usually it brings a lot of trouble, but babies under 2 years old can be taken on vacation almost free of charge, usually only a boarding pass is charged for the plane in the amount of $15.
Holidays with children under 4 years old
In general, it does not differ much from the previous category, except that they endure the road better, and it is easier to occupy them. When choosing resorts, it is better to give preference to the same resorts of the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea. From abroad, you can consider Bulgaria and Croatia, the mild climate, the combination of the azure sea with sandy beaches and forests create ideal conditions for a family holiday with babies. You should not reject such popular destinations as Turkey, Egypt, Spain and Greece, but still refrain from traveling during the hot months, it is better to choose the velvet season from late August to early October. When choosing a hotel, also pay attention to the availability of the necessary infrastructure.
Recently, large tour operators have begun to practice such a phenomenon as the “Hotel-Kids Club”, a distinctive feature of which is the presence of professional Russian-speaking animators and educators, the organization of special children’s programs and theme nights, special attention is paid to the children’s menu, which includes dairy products , cereals, fruit and vegetable puree. Vivid examples are hotels under the auspices of the “Sum family club” of the tour operator Coral Travel and “Club Toucan” of the tour operator Mostravel.
Holidays with children from 4 to 12 years old
The age of children is getting older, and there are fewer restrictions on holidays. At this age, communication with peers is of increasing interest, so when choosing a hotel, be guided by its specialization in family vacations, the presence of mini-clubs and children’s animation. Pay attention to hotels with water parks, children will be delighted, however, as well as from amusement parks, which are very numerous in Europe. By the way, we advise you to visit the Port Aventura park in Spain, it is located in the resort town of Salou, which is also famous for its widest sandy beaches. Don’t forget the legendary Disneyland Paris. There are theme parks and water parks in Greece, Spain, France, Germany. In general, try to make your vacation with children as rich as possible with new experiences, but do not forget that for most sightseeing tours they are still small, so choose entertainment to match their age.
Holidays with children from 12 years old
Well, they are children only on paper, for hotels and airlines they are also already adults, so you should not expect discounts from tour operators. A feature of holidays with such children is that they want to cleanly relax separately, or at least as adults. Therefore, when choosing a hotel, be guided by those that offer active youth recreation. Feel free to buy tickets to European countries where vacationers are not so attached to the hotel, and in the evenings you can walk along the embankments, light up at discos, practice foreign languages with peers from other countries. Since age already has an adequate perception of a large amount of information, you can safely choose sightseeing tours, although much depends on the interests of the child. We also advise you to pay attention to children’s camps in the Moscow region, Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and abroad.
Here we have considered the features of choosing a place of rest with children of different ages, the rest depends on your desires and capabilities. You can see offers for the areas you are interested in in the “Selection of tours” section.
4 SEASONS OF LOVE
Do you want to make the coming days and weeks a turning point in your relationship with your child?
Do you want simple and effective tools for a calm and confident parenthood?
Do you want to be a happy parent of a happy child?
Then you simply cannot do without the most complete transformational training for parents and teachers of the 4 SEASONS OF LOVE!
4 SEASONS OF LOVE?
4 SEASONS OF LOVE is an extensive and at the same time very accessible and understandable training program, consisting of 40 modules on the most exciting topics for parents and educators. This program arose in the course of my daily communication with thousands of Russian-speaking parents, as well as dozens of child psychologists, educators and teachers from all over the world.
4 SEASONS OF LOVE is the quintessence of the most effective strategies that, if used wisely, will lead you to the state of a happy parent in 3-4 weeks and help you maintain long-term positive results. The program is offered as a recording in 3 convenient formats.
4 SEASONS OF LOVE?
This is my most global training I have created for parents and teachers who:
feel a lack of applied pedagogical knowledge: there is a child, but there is no understanding of how to properly educate him;
experience an acute lack of skills in building harmonious relationships with a child: “I know a lot, but I have no idea how to implement it in life”;
realize that in raising a child they are not on the right track;
cannot consolidate the favorable results of upbringing in any way: it seems that some desired result has been achieved, but tomorrow comes – and everything returns to normal.
I WANT THE 4 SEASONS OF LOVE TRAINING!
I came to the 4 SEASON training program for help in the upbringing and development of the child. For a practical example in education. As a result of this program, I learned to look at the world through the eyes of a child. Especially useful were the topics “What should a child learn at different ages and what should he be taught?”, “Child’s freedom and choice”, “Child’s self-esteem”. I realized that I can play like a child, that a child is a person that can be brought up without a dictatorship. I would recommend 4 SEASONS OF LOVE to other moms and dads, because very often there is no time to read books on raising children, and this program discusses current problems and methods for solving them, illustrative examples of relationships with a child. The program is “live”, and not a stingy, poorly digestible scientific text.

The course was very useful for me, I learned a lot about modern education, changed my views on some aspects of education, realized that sometimes I was wrong. Thank you, Ekaterina!

The topics “Basic needs of the child”, “Manipulation and positive influence”, “Self-esteem”, “Raising a son”, “Raising a daughter” were very useful for me. Of course, many books have been written about education, development, etc., but the 4 SEASONS training is convenient because it contains the main things, and this saves both time and effort, but the most important thing is the RESULT. Catherine, thanks again.
Yulia Afanasyeva, St. Petersburg, son 7 years old
I have a very complicated relationship with my child. I break down often. With the help of the 4 SEASONS program, I wanted to move to a new level, restore good relations. Almost all topics were initially interesting to me. That is why I decided to participate. And she didn’t regret it. Your way of presenting information is very inspiring. Everything is clear and specific, without smearing the topic, there are always simple and understandable tips. I am a fan of your courses and trainings. I really like the presentation of information and the topics that you cover. Infects calmness and confidence. I want the same! 🙂 Therefore, I would recommend other parents to join the 4 SEASONS OF LOVE.

I came in 4 SEASONS to learn how to deal with children’s tantrums. After this training, the child and I perfectly find a common language, we always manage to agree, we have become closer. I really liked the topics about raising a son, about the Big Goal in raising children. In the course of training, I realized that children must be listened to, they must be reckoned with, it is impossible to achieve anything from a child by shouting. I recommend 4 SEASONS OF LOVE to everyone, because it is the most extensive and complete parenting program.
Alexandra Fofanova, Ukraine, son 2 years old
4 SEASONS OF LOVE right now?
You can spend several years collecting all the important information about happy parenthood from various sources. And even if you succeed, you are unlikely to be able to most fully and effectively INTRODUCE all the knowledge gained into your life.
As a result, what awaits you ahead is not the happy, harmonious parenthood that you dream of, but yet another (this time very deep!) disappointment in yourself and your child.
But there is another scenario for the development of events in your parenthood – just choose the format of the transformational training 4 SEASONS OF LOVE that is optimal for you and start enjoying harmonious parenthood TODAY!
4 SEASONS OF LOVE – these are my best author’s achievements, logically combined into a single and very effective training program. These strategies have been tested many times with my daughter and hundreds of other parents with their children.
I came to the 4 SEASONS program wanting to better understand my children and learn the most effective tools for interacting with them and resolving conflicts. After this training, the children became calmer, the mother became more self-confident, and parenthood became more conscious. The modules “Parenting styles”, “Prohibitions and debt obligations of the child” were very useful.
Yulia Lomovitskaya, children aged 5 and 3.5
I WANT THE 4 SEASONS OF LOVE TRAINING!
Went in 4 SEASONS, because I liked the disclosure of the topics “Raising a son”, “Raising a daughter”, and in general I was sure of the value of the material from Ekaterina Alekseeva. As a result, relationships with children have become more meaningful on my part, with a look into the future. There are a lot of useful topics, such as “Strengths and weaknesses of the child”, “What is the danger of parental expectations”, “Motivation and self-esteem of the child”, “Basic needs of the child” are well remembered. I realized that I don’t know how to show unconditional love, they didn’t teach me this in childhood, it’s good that Ekaterina Alekseeva managed to get through to me, I try to remember this so that later my daughter does not repeat my mistakes. I recommend to all present, and even better, future parents to study with Ekaterina Alekseeva, because she will help you understand simple truths, from which we sometimes go far and run for no one knows what. I wish you all harmonious parenthood!
Julia Innocenti, Italy, children 3.5 and 5.5 years old
I know the value of the material that I offer parents every time. The quality of the information is guaranteed by the Relations with the Child project. And as experience shows, parents always get what they come for in my courses (provided that they act). However, in order to finally remove all your possible doubts about the advisability of purchasing the transformational training 4 SEASONS OF LOVE, I promise that if you are not satisfied with your purchase, I will return all your money within two days without a single question.
If you have any questions about the transformational training 4 SEASONS OF LOVE, write to us at [email protected]. We are always in touch with parents.
I came to 4 SEASONS to learn and apply the principles of raising and understanding children in order to help them enter adulthood and be happy. As a result of this program, we have become happier. I listened to many topics 3-4 times. All have been helpful to me. In everything you can find meaning and benefit. Even where you don’t expect.

Top School Districts in Kentucky, 2021
Overall, Kentucky lags behind most other states in the field of public education. However, this is not the case for the state’s five best school districts, all of which compare favorably with the best school districts in the nation. Let’s have a closer look at them.
The best school district in Kentucky is Fort Thomas Independent Schools, which consists of three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school in the city of Fort Thomas, near the state’s northern border. Fort Thomas is one of the best school districts in the nation: it boasts a 99% graduation rate, and four of its schools have been named Blue Ribbon Schools by the U.S. Department of Education.
Kentucky’s #2 top school district is McCracken County Public Schools, encompassing eleven schools serving an enrollment of almost 7,000 students. The district’s McCracken County High School is one of the best in the area for preparing students for the future, offering 26 AP courses and 13 career certifications. Students can leave the school with two years of college credits in tow.
Placing 3rd is Henderson County Schools, which is a large district of thirteen schools with a total enrollment topping 7,400. Students of HCS are in good hands, as 79% of the district’s teachers have a Master’s Degree or higher.
Meade County Schools earns the 4th spot in the ranking of Kentucky’s best school districts. MCS is headquartered in Brandenburg and consists of six elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Students of the district excel academically, earning high rates of proficiency in reading and mathematics.
Floyd County Schools rounds out the list of Kentucky’s five best school districts. The district comprises eleven schools with a total enrollment of around 6,000. FCS boasts AdvancED accreditation and won the District of Distinction honor three years in a row.

Methodology
The following variables contributed to the ranking: number of students (K-12), graduation rate, school funding per student, student to teacher ratio, percent of students scoring above proficient in standardized state Math test, percent of students scoring above proficient in standardized state Reading and Language test. Data from a total of 10,247 public school districts were used to compute a score for each school district. The following states were omitted due to lack of sufficient data: Hawaii, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Utah, and Virginia. Note that high schools in some states have their own independent districts.

How Japanese schools work | Chalk
Why do Japanese schoolchildren have no free time, why do they hold similar summits in the classroom, and why an exam is one of the most difficult events in life, and the announcement of its results can lead to suicide, says Japanese language teacher Alexander Ulyanovsky.
If it is customary for us to believe that the starting point of the education process is school, then in Japan, education begins already in kindergarten. It is there that the child receives the first important skills in the form of the basics of mathematics and two alphabets – hiragana and katakana. The Japanese enter elementary school at the age of six or seven, and the school year traditionally begins in April. The Japanese believe that this is the best time to start a new stage in life: nature wakes up, sakura blossoms, it’s time to acquire knowledge. And although now every now and then there are proposals to postpone the start of the school year to September, as in most countries of the world, they have no success and are rejected over and over again.
The Japanese school consists of three levels: elementary (Sho: Gakko:), middle (Chu: Gakko:) and senior (Ko: to: Gakko:). Primary school lasts for six years, middle and high school for three years. Thus, there are 12 classes in total, but only nine of them are mandatory. However, 94% of the guys enter the tenth grade – this is really a very good indicator. Especially when you consider that, unlike primary and secondary schools, you have to pay for education in high school.
Mother tongue – ancient and medieval
The elementary school has lighter rules: no homework, no hard work or exams. Its main goal is to provide general knowledge and skills designed to prepare students for other, more responsible stages. They study arithmetic, natural history, social and humanitarian knowledge, English, the basics of work, music, creativity and physical education. From the first grade, a subject called the State Language or Native Language (Ko: ko:) is required – this is not only modern, but also medieval and ancient Japanese. Very strict requirements for English – teachers make sure that they speak it at a high level. In high school, in addition to computer science, world and Japanese history and natural sciences, elective courses also appear – you can already try to decide on a specialization.
They study in two shifts: morning or afternoon. In elementary school, as a rule, there are no more than four lessons a day, lasting 45 minutes. Further, the amount of study time increases: in the secondary school there are six classes of 50 minutes each, and in the senior school children often have to be from eight in the morning to six in the evening.
Breaks are short – only 5-10 minutes, but in the middle of the day there is always an hour break, which is necessary for schoolchildren to have time to have lunch. Usually everyone takes snacks with them in bento — this is what lunch boxes are called. Sometimes the guys run into the shops, but, in general, the Japanese do not like to eat on the go.
Without the right to rest
Japanese schoolchildren (and students) are called one of the busiest and most hardworking people in the country – they already have a huge number of homework and tests in high school. The entire academic year is divided into three semesters: the first lasts from April to July, the second – from September to December and the last, respectively, from January to the end of March. But all the holidays are spent on preparing for exams and writing papers. Vacation for the Japanese is the time when you can thoroughly sit down to study. Weekends pass the same way – to complete tasks, and sometimes there is no time even to go outside.
Examinations start in the seventh grade, take place two or three times a year, and are one of the biggest challenges in the life of every Japanese. There are both final checks that determine whether a person will enter the next class, school or higher educational institution, as well as introductory ones. Two grading systems are used: letter A-F and 100-point, the minimum positive score of which is usually 60, but sometimes special limits are set – in some tests, 9 can become passing0 points.
In addition to the school itself, there are juku special educational institutions – tutoring offices that provide courses in various subjects.
The Japanese school does not guarantee such training that you will definitely pass the exams
Almost everyone attends juku and studies hard until late at night to improve their level. In Japan, for the New Year, the most relevant gift for teenagers aged 12-18 is a coupon for attending courses.
Japanese schools also have special clubs called kai. After the end of the school time, the student necessarily participates in some kind of collective activity – based on his preferences, he can choose sports, creative or socially useful leisure. Pupils also hold semblances of parliaments, summits, conferences – all in order to prepare children for adulthood. But in the end, the child has no free time at all: in the morning he goes to school, from there to kai, then to juku. He comes home late, late in the evening and only has time to do the work assigned to the house and go to bed.
Classrooms
In Japanese schools there are music classes where almost the wonders of technology are presented – electronic guitars, bass guitars, drum kits of the latest generation. Some schools also have recording studios – the guys create entire rock bands. Everywhere there is a huge number of sports fields, baseball and football fields.
At the same time, if in our middle and high schools a class is assigned to a teacher, then in Japan, on the contrary, it is assigned to a group of students. Duty officers are assigned to clean the premises themselves. Each class has a warden who is responsible for making sure everyone greets the teacher. When the teacher enters the classroom, the headman gets up, raises the rest by order, then orders to bow. Having performed this ritual, everyone sits down in their seats, and the lesson begins.
Red brick road
There are no general textbooks for everyone in Japanese schools: the Ministry of Education makes recommendations, but the school decides for itself which direction to move in and what manuals or special subjects to take. The school uniform is also selected and approved by a specific educational institution. Usually girls, even in high school, are strictly forbidden to let their hair down and use decorative cosmetics, not to mention piercings and tattoos. Often in anime, schoolgirls are depicted in short skirts – in fact, in Japan, they wear skirts below the knees.
Schools are often located not so far from every house in the city – most often within a 5-10 minute walk. If we are talking about rural areas, then go a little longer. There are buses that pick up children, but they are not as regular and mandatory as, for example, in the USA. But in Japan, everything is arranged so that you can get to an educational institution on your own and without problems – many do it by bicycle. In Tokyo, there are special paths paved with red brick, where there are signs “Here Come the Children” – this is a special lane on which it is forbidden to drive.
Alternatives to school education
Education in Japan is very expensive – and the best in Japan are not public, but private schools and universities. The most qualified and professional teachers are invited there. The amount of payment depends on how elite the school is and what place it occupies in the ranking. The Japanese follow such ratings and try to get into the best educational institutions – prestige means a lot to them.
In Japan, there are still schools called gakuen with separate education for boys and girls. They are similar in type to lyceums, and there are special strict canons that children must unquestioningly obey. Colleges in Japan are like schools, and a small percentage of students go there. Some enter vocational schools and colleges after graduation. The Japanese strive for knowledge throughout their lives. True, many girls do not try to break into universities, but immediately study to be housewives and prepare for marriage. In Japan, this is not considered discrimination: just a woman in her place, a man in his own.
Without the right to make a mistake
45% of the country’s residents and 90% of urban residents receive higher education – very worthy numbers. Bachelor’s degree in Japan lasts four years, followed by postgraduate studies – two. To get into the university, you need to successfully pass first the school, then the entrance exams. There are no concessions here: even if you graduated from school with excellent marks, this does not exempt you from testing your knowledge at a university. Some universities, such as the University of Tokyo or Keio University, are really hard to get into – it is considered a lifetime achievement and guarantees a high-paying job.
There are grants and scholarships that alleviate the situation, but there are no state-funded places in Japanese universities. Many students either go on academic leave and earn the required amount, or take out a loan. Some have already accumulated debts for studying in middle or high school – the financial factor significantly reduces the ability of the Japanese to get higher education. Although 90% of school graduates will still have the desire to learn.
In Japan, there are a number of suicides every year because students fail exams. This is one of the problems that the Ministry of Education faces and which the state cannot overcome in any way.

One day in an American school
How does the school day begin and end, how long does lunch last, how many lessons per day, and what are the breaks between lessons. Parents of New York schoolchildren will learn about this during the Open Day.
Our son Daniel is a first grader at a public school in Brooklyn, New York. This is an elementary school for children from kindergarten (Kindergarten) up to and including the fifth grade. Our school is not quite ordinary. In each parallel, there are two inclusive classes, where children with autism spectrum disorders study along with ordinary children under the ASD Nest program. There are 49 such schools in New York.
Cool room
Once a year, around mid-November, our school has an open day. During the school day, parents can come to the school, attend classes and see how everything is going.
So what a typical day at a public school looks like.
The school day is from 8:00 to 14:10. School opens at 7:30. And those who wish have the opportunity to have breakfast at school from 7:30 to 7:55.
Children sing “The Pledge of Allegiance” before class begins.
There are eight periods of 45 minutes during the day: seven training periods and one for lunch and rest (lasting 50 minutes).
Workplaces for teachers
Weather permitting, during this long break in the afternoon, the children play outside on the school playground. If it’s cool, then the children are in the classrooms. They read, draw, play board games, or just socialize at will.
An interesting fact: during lunch and a long break, teachers do not supervise the children. They are supervised by teacher assistants and other school staff. Teachers at this time have lunch and rest.
Lunch and a long break are separated in time between parallels so that there is no crowd in the cafeteria and on the school grounds. First, children have lunch and walk from preparatory to second grade, and an hour later – from third to fifth.
Cool room
There are no breaks between lessons. One lesson flows smoothly into another. At first it shocked me: how is it – there is no break? Then I realized why it is not traumatic for children. They do not sit in class all the time at the tables, but move a lot. The kids have breaks for a few minutes of gymnastics or yoga. For part of the class, they sit on a mat in front of a smart board.
The first grade has the following subjects: reading, writing, math, science, social science, computer technology, art, music, physical education, dance and once a week a special lesson on a chosen topic: cooking, wildlife, underwater life , video and cinema, designing, scientific research. The latter are called “cluster”.
First Class Schedule
School ends at 2:10 pm. Those children who use the services of school buses are taken by school employees to buses, all the rest are taken by their parents from the school yard, where teachers take each class.
I notice this is a separate public school in Brooklyn. In other schools, it may be different: different start and end times, list of subjects, lunch time and breaks.
Here are some more photos from my tour of our school.
Entry to the classroom is at the discretion of the teacher.

Russian
children whose parents are in
business trips and work in various
Russian institutions in New York and
permanent basis at the UN, actively
attend American schools. Home
the reason for this is the desire of the parents
create the most favorable conditions
for children to learn English.
Certificate required for school enrollment
from the Consulate General of Russia that
the child lives in New
York, and a certificate from the school where the child
studied before.
Should
note that Russian children in
New York schools take big
desire, since they are significantly
superior in intelligence and
training not only for children –
immigrants from Hispanic
countries, but also indigenous children
Americans. Practice shows that
schoolchildren, even those who are quite mediocre
studied at a Russian school, are
among the best students of American
schools, of course, if they own
sufficient English.
Especially the teachers of American schools

For the sake of it, it must also be said that
the parents of our children deserve to
in the eyes of American school administrators
the greatest praise, as they show
constant interest in the learning process
their children and be able to provide them with
comprehensive study assistance.
Together
with that, teachers working in the Russian
school at a permanent establishment
Russia at the UN, note a weak level
preparation of general educational and individual
subjects in children who after learning
in the American school return to
our school. Russian teachers say
that these schoolchildren after several
years of study in New York schools
only have a low level of knowledge and
fully developed skills like this items,
like mathematics, physics or chemistry, but also
do not have the essentials
general knowledge and skills. To
such skills and abilities, first of all
should include writing and reading, without
which, as is known, the process of successful
learning is almost impossible.
Russian school teachers have to
bury the trouble to eliminate
specified gaps. These conclusions are made
based on teachers’ observations

with students who got engaged in different

writing tests (similar to the exam). By
currently existing in
US position top hundred best
graduates have the right to study in
any higher education institution in the USA
free of charge for their stay in
New York, although the schools are in part
municipal subordination. Such
approach to choosing schools leads to the emergence of
problem, which is
that some schools are
overcrowded, and in others for complete

Potomac Heights Christian Academy has set forth educational objectives, which will promote and provide for the building of sound Christian character in all ages. Recognizing that mans chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, it is without apology that we make our foremost objective that of preparing minds and bodies spiritually to know God personally and become all that He expects and desires His children to be in all facets of life.
The curriculum that we use encourages students to think clearly, logically, and independently. A major priority of the Academy is that students are taught the importance of self-discipline and self-control. Both of these tenets are to be sought after and practiced daily.
Potomac Heights Christian Academy believes in an early academic foundation stressing the 3 Rs, with learning basic skills, study habits, and motor skill development being most essential. Such an academic stage is set in our primary grades and blended with Christian character and citizenship. As the student progresses through the various stages of academic development and advances from grade to grade, this blending of Christian character, citizenship, and academics continues.

Junior: Rochambeau, French International school is an amazing place to spend your highschool years. Enriched by a multi-cultural student body, Rochambeau has the mix of rigorous academia and a fun social life. The school is primarily taught in French, following the Baccalaureate curriculum. Students are given the option of classes they wish to develop as their “specialties’: these include Humanities, Philosophy and French Literature, Social Economic Science, Political Science, Physics, Biology, and Maths. Most teachers are extremely insightful and engaging, and show off an extremely impressive resume from working at international schools around the world. One disadvantage that the school has would maybe be it’s limited class size (200 in whole highschool) However, this could be considered a good thing as most students are really close.Overall, the bi-lingual education that is offered with the IB system serves as extremely good preparation to college, while still being a formative experience…. Alum: Despite the complaints we all have about the school, I’d say I’m happy I got the experience many others don’t get. Supportive staff and teachers, sometimes edible food, decent sizing, fairly safe (cameras and doors worked well) and sometimes extra help for ones struggling. Most of the teachers are young and empathetic towards students, some aren’t, but you can’t have it all. The career center staff was very helpful for seniors with being sure everyone got the right information, councilor was very helpful at times, and most of them did the best they could instead of just brushing us off, at least with me for the most part. Of course no ones perfect and there were times where no one was listening or doing anything to help, Like one of my classes teachers was so bad everyone who was trying was barely passing with a D or C and despite all the complaints and confidences, no one did anything, and it was harder knowing we didn’t have the same resources due to covid…. Thank you for the work of the volunteers, who did a great job. They met our guests at the entrance, registered, escorted them, treated them, led them through the Quest stations, protected them – in short, they were their own mother. Excellent and well-coordinated work. You are best!

The eternal existential question of modern man: what is meant by the term “Modernity”? A vicious circle of addictions of the modern Western consumer society or a free transcendental mind? Does “Modernity” contain a postmodern that denies it, or is it an imaginary protest intercepted by modern repressiveness? Does modernity oppress us or realize our possibilities? The world of temporality, presenting new requirements to a person, opens up new opportunities for him: spiritual, intellectual, axiological, technological, – at the same time putting him in a situation of difficulties in choosing the ontological path. Modernity exacerbates the problem of preserving the very human element in man. Who are we? Trauma or “great eve”?

50 Cent – biography, photo, personal life, wife and children, height and weight, listen songs online
50 Cent (50 Cents, 50 Cent) is an American rapper whose work became incredibly popular in the early 2000s, after the release of the albums Get Rich or Die Tryin’ and The Massacre.
In total, around forty million discs have been sold worldwide.
Pictured: rapper 50 Cent
Screenwriter (“Before I Self-Destruct”), Producer (“Setup”, “Power in the Night City”) and director. Actor and businessman. In 2000, he was attacked by an armed criminal who fired nine bullets at the rapper. Fortunately, he survived. His real name is Curtis James Jackson III.
Childhood, youth, family
Curtis was born in the summer of 1975 to a dysfunctional family. His mother was 15-year-old Sabrina Jackson from a poor New York area of Queens. The boy never saw his father – he disappeared when he learned about the pregnancy of his girlfriend.
50 Cent as a child and now
The child grew up in what is known as South Jamaica, where drugs, shootings and random killings were commonplace. The young mother did not find another option to earn a living and provide the baby with everything necessary, except to sell crack. She left her son to her parents, but when she visited him, she always gave him gifts, thus expiating the feeling of guilt before him. For the boy, her every visit was like a Christmas story.
Curtis Jackson as a child with a portrait of his mother that he drew
When Curtis was eight, his mother died under unclear circumstances. Sabrina inhaled gas in her sleep and died, but the police determined that the glass of alcohol Sabrina had drunk contained sleeping pills, and all the knobs on the gas stove in her apartment were turned on. Most likely, she was killed either by competitors in the drug business, or by offended clients.
Sabrina Jackson
Grandfather and grandmother continued to raise the orphaned boy. In addition to him, eight brothers and sisters of his mother and a cousin, Michael Francis, lived in the house. Curtis’ room was in the basement.
Childhood home of 50 Cent
Curtis did not like studying, he preferred boxing in order to be able to fend for himself on the street. The boy attended classes in the free gym and pounded the punching bag with such desperation, as if he wanted to take out all his childhood grievances on it. By the way, he was born left-handed and never retrained.
When Jackson wasn’t looking bored at his desk or boxing, he was selling crack on the street. As the rapper explained much later, he just wanted to earn his living:
I didn’t want to ask my grandma for a pair of Air Jordans. uznayvse.ru], because he knew that she could not afford them. So I started working to get things out and not stress her out.
When he was fifteen, he bought a gun from his hands to frighten his “colleagues”, and three years later he was already considered the main local drug dealer. He left school a long time ago, the drug trade brought him up to 150 thousand dollars a month. At the same time, he honed his boxing skills, but no longer in a free gym. And listened to music. The young man’s favorite performers were Rakim, KRS-1, Run D.M.C. At the same time, he began to independently compose his first texts and think about how he could break into the music business.
Young 50 Cent
He soon came to the attention of the narcotics department, and shortly after his nineteenth birthday, he was arrested for trying to sell cocaine to a plainclothes police officer. The first time he was released, because the guy only acted as an intermediary, but a month later he was arrested – for possession of crack and heroin in the house, as well as for unregistered weapons. The search was carried out in the wake of another transaction, and Curtis failed to get out. He was sentenced to three years in prison, but he was released early under an amnesty.
50 Cent was in jail for drug dealing
Curtis was 21 when his first child, son Marquis, was born. And the young father decided that it was time to change his lifestyle. The beginning of the change was the pseudonym 50 Cent – the same was the famous Brooklyn gangster of the 80s Calvin Martin. Curtis considered himself a man of the same type as Martin: he provided for himself with all available means. But this time, Curtis chose music.
First success and assassination attempt
Read rap 50 Cent began at 1996 year. A friend provided him with a basement for rehearsals and a “turntable” for recording the first tracks. He was soon introduced to the team leader Run-D.M.C. Jam Master Jay and impressed him. Curtis learned from him not only to count the bars, but also to correctly compose songs and record them.
The first performance of 50 Cent took place in 1998, at the opening act for the presentation of the Onyx album. Jam’s label Master Jay was supposed to release the budding rapper’s first CD, but it ended up being recorded but never released.
In 1999, Curtis entered into a production contract with Trackmasters (a subsidiary of Columbia Records). In two weeks, the artist wrote more than thirty lyrics, half of them were included in the unofficial disc of 2000 “Power of the Dollar”, the release of which was postponed due to the popularity of the “How to Rob” single and the assassination attempt on 50 Cent.
50 Cent – How to Rob
The success of the single brought the performer his first popularity, but someone dissatisfied with the emergence of a new rap star decided to kill him. The tragedy occurred in 2000, when the artist was sitting in a car near the house of his relatives. An unidentified man shot Curtis point-blank nine times. The rapper miraculously survived – if the shooter had taken a few centimeters higher, he would have hit the brain. For six months, Curtis underwent rehabilitation, moved on crutches, and then moved to another city.
50 Cent after the assassination attempt
During this time, the producers, fearing that the rapper would no longer be able to perform, terminated the contract. But Curtis recovered and began looking for a new record company. In America, he failed to do this, so he and his partner Sha Mani tried their luck in Canada. There, the guys recorded and released the album “Guess Who’s Back?” (2002). Eminem heard the cassette and invited the rapper to Los Angeles. There, the performer was introduced to Dr. Dre himself and soon signed a million-dollar contract.
50 Сent – Guess who’s back
Prime of a career
50Cent didn’t just make its first million, it brought in a lot more for the new producers. The album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” [“Get Rich or Die”], released in 2003, without exaggeration, had the effect of a bombshell. With nine million discs sold, the singles “Wanksta” (previously included in the Eminem film “8 Mile”) and “In Da Club” became classics of the genre.
50 Cent and Eminem
Muscles, tattoos, a bulletproof vest, a pistol, wide trousers – the rapper’s gangster image with its aggressive magnetism was fascinating. In many ways, it was 50 Cent who brought rap music to the masses, balancing on the verge of purely street lyrics and music that nightclub visitors listened to with pleasure.
Having made a fortune, Curtis immediately bought a huge mansion with eighteen bedrooms, formerly owned by his idol Mike Tyson, and began to promote a luxurious lifestyle with expensive cars and beautiful women.
50 Cent – In Da Club
He founded the Interscope label, signed a contract with Young Buck and Lloyd Banks, members of the G-Unit group, and recorded the album Beg For Mercy (2003) with them.
In 2005, the second album “The Massacre” was released with new songs about crime, drugs and sex. Over a million copies were sold in the first week of release. For almost two months, the album was at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. The rapper’s popularity reached cosmic heights. The single “Candy Shop” was nominated for a Grammy.
50 Cent – Candy Shop
However, the next two albums – “Curtis” (2007) and “Before I Self-Destruct” (2009) – sold more modestly. New figures emerged on the rap scene, such as Kanye West, with whom Curtis bet that if his Curtis album sold worse than Kanye’s Graduation, released the same year, he would quit music. As a result, Kanye won a landslide victory, and venerable colleagues, for example, Jay-Z, accused 50 Cent of excessive arrogance, which, as you know, is the enemy of success.
50 Cent Lost Sales Race To Kanye West
Other projects
Curtis did not keep his promise, although he was actively engaged in other activities for several years. For example, he wrote books about self-development: The Law of 50 became a kind of best-selling meditation for company directors, and Formula 50 was a guide to a six-week training and nutrition course that promised to completely change lives.
Still from the film Get Rich or Die
More than thirty roles include the filmography of Curtis. Jim Sheridan filmed him in the near-biographical film Get Rich or Die. His hero Marcus, like the rapper himself in childhood, crossed the law to earn a lot of money. Some of 50 Cent’s most memorable roles include Spiderman from Right to Kill with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, Lionel from The Twelve, Jordan Maines from Lefty.
50 Cent in Lefty
In the TV series “The Power of the Night City”, which was successfully on American screens, 50 Cent acted as a producer, and in the film “Before I Self-Destruct” he was simultaneously a screenwriter, director, producer and performer of the main role.
Bankruptcy and return
In 2014, after a long break, the rapper recorded and released a new album “Animal Ambition” – the fifth and currently the last studio album. It failed to break previous sales records, and music critics left mixed reviews for the record, noting the lack of evolution in the work of 50 Cent, although the genre has undergone tremendous changes in the 5 years since the release of “Before I Self-Destruct”.
50 Cent – Animal Ambition
You can buy the album for bitcoins. And many took advantage of this opportunity – 50 Cent received the equivalent of 400 thousand dollars in cryptocurrencies.
In 2014, 50 Cent was sued by Sleek Audio, the manufacturer of Beats headphones, who collaborated with Dr. Dre – the rapper began selling headphones whose design was so strongly reminiscent of the Beats that Sleek Audio sued 50 Cent for $ 16 million.
50 Cent headphones accused of plagiarizing Beats
Then a certain Lastonia Leviston sued the rapper. It turned out that back in 2009, 50 Cent bought her homemade “hot” video and published it online. For this trick, the musician’s fortune decreased by another 5 million, after which his accounts were frozen.
Experts estimated the general condition of 50 Cent (taking into account not only the money in the bank account, but also real estate, car park, etc.) at 22 million dollars. Approximately the same amount was estimated and his debts. After losing in court, he declared himself bankrupt.
In 2017, the rapper withdrew from bankruptcy
Two years later, the bitcoin exchange rate increased several times, 400 thousand per album turned into 8 million, and the rapper, having converted cryptocurrency into dollars and got rid of a number of expensive assets, managed to pay off all debts.
Personal life of 50 Cent
At the beginning of his career, the rapper had a relationship with a woman named Shanicua Tompkins, who gave birth to his eldest son, the Marquis. Their relationship ended long ago, but the rapper took care of his son, although there were regular conflicts between them.
Marquis, eldest son of 50 Cent
So, one day the boy posted a photo on Instagram where he stands with the son of McGriff, a man who, according to unconfirmed reports, was the organizer of the assassination attempt on 50Cent, and said:
As a child, it seemed that my father was Superman. But as you grow older, you begin to become more aware of what is happening around you, and this affects relationships with people. This is what happened with my father.
Unable to restrain himself, Curtis reacted very harshly to the publication. It is possible that the reason for such a virtual skirmish was the artist’s statement that he has another son, Davian, a photo with which he posted on Instagram. 50 Cent did not disclose the mother’s name.
With Davian
In addition to the Marquis, the rapper has another son, Saira, who was born at the time when Curtis was dating model Daphne Joy. He was also credited with novels with singer Ciara and shocking Chelsea Handler. In August 2019, the rapper started dating Jamira Haynes.
50 Cent and Jamira Haynes
50 Cent now
Years later, 50 Cent still kept his promise to Kanye West in 2007 and stopped writing new music. He has acted in many films and produced various film projects. In 2019In the year the action movie Escape Plan 3 was released, in which Curtis starred along with Sylvester Stallone and Dave Batista.
On the set of Escape Plan 3
At this time, he produced the series Forever, the main character of which was a black man on life imprisonment, convicted of a crime he did not commit. Unlike many other projects produced by Curtis, the series received high marks from viewers and critics.
At the end of 2020, it became known that the popular rapper will be the producer of three horror films at once, which will be directed by Eli Roth. Jackson’s company G-Unit Film & Television has already signed a contract to carry out the projects. It was stated that “the team will start making films that others are simply afraid to make.” Curtis is going to be engaged in the production and sale of products accompanying the motion pictures.
Also in 2021, the next season of his series called Forever will be released. Eminem turned down a multi-million dollar offer to star in the film, and Curtis called him “a lab rat who prefers to stay in his studio and work on music, just not to go out.

UN salary & benefits | interjob app
The United Nations workforce is made up of different categories of staff. Within each category there are different levels, which reflect increasing levels of responsibilities and requirements. The information in this section will help you decide in which staff category, and at what level, you fit in.
This will be useful when you start searching and applying for jobs.
At the United Nations you progress in a category through merit and qualifications. There are, however, restrictions on movement between the different categories.
Professional and higher categories (P and D)
For Professional Staff the salary is composed by two components: Base Salary and Post Adjustment. While Base salary is equal independently from the location, the postadjustment is a % to add to the base salary. For example in Geneva is currently 106% of the base salary whilst in Rome is 57%. The sum of the two components give the take home pay for the UN staff
– Entry level professionals (P1 and P2) – Mid-level professionals (P3 and P4 – Senior level professionals (P5, D1 and D2)
General Service and related categories (G)
The functions in the General Service and related categories include administrative, secretarial and clerical support as well as specialized technical functions such as printing, security and buildings maintenance. The work carried out by General Service staff supports the functioning of the Organization and is typically procedural, operational or technical in nature.
Staff in the General Service and related categories are generally recruited locally from the area in
which the particular office is located but could be of any nationality. As a result, such staff members are usually not expected to move between different duty stations.
– Entry level/low qualified Gstaff (G1,G2 and G3) – Mid-level Gstaff (G4 and G5) – Senior level Gstaff (G6, G7)
National Professional Officers (NO)
National Professional Officers are normally locally recruited and perform functions at the professional level. The qualifications for National Professional Officers are the same as for the Professional category and require as a minimum a first-level university degree. Jobs for National
Professional Officers can only be found in non-headquarters duty stations.
Staff in the Field Service category are normally recruited internationally to serve in field missions. You are expected to be highly mobile and to serve in different locations during your career.
Field Service staff members provide administrative, technical, logistics and other
support services to United Nations field missions. No field service position are assigned to G staff in category 1,2 and 3
– Mid-level (FS4 and FS5) – Senior level (FS6 and FS7)

Once again, we remind you that freedom of speech, the right to access information about the activities of the government, is the sacred right of our people, which is spelled out in our laws and in the Constitution of the country.
The roadmap for overcoming the energy crisis is worse than the crisis that our government plunged the country into in the fall of 2020.
Statement of the Regional Public Organization of Veterans of the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia “Aruaa”
We, veterans of the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia in 1992-1993, express our indignation at the fact that on April 12, 2022 we again did not allow Abkhaz journalists to attend the meeting elected People’s Assembly – the Parliament of the Republic of Abkhazia of the seventh convocation.
We regard this fact as an obstruction of the professional activities of journalists by the executive branch, as a violation of the legislation and the Constitution of our country.
We must say that we consider it inappropriate to talk about accreditation. What kind of accreditation do Abkhaz journalists need? What kind of accreditation does the chairman of the Union of Journalists, the director of a TV channel need?
You can talk about accreditation of foreign media, but you have no right to refuse accreditation to Abkhaz journalists! Our laws do not prohibit an Abkhazian journalist, a citizen of Abkhazia, from attending a parliamentary session. Neither the deputies, nor the president, and even more so the GSO, can do this. Such actions contradict the main principle of the activity of the authorities in general and the parliament in particular – openness. Even for holding closed sessions of parliament, a clear justification and consent of the majority of deputies is necessary. We remind you once again that freedom of speech, the right to access information about the activities of the authorities, is the sacred right of our people, which is spelled out in our laws and in the Constitution of the country.
We believe that those guilty of obstructing the activities of journalists at the parliamentary session on April 12 should be held accountable for violating the rights of journalists. Therefore, we demand that the prosecutor’s office urgently investigate this incident, present the results of the investigation to the public and punish the officials who violated the law.
I must say that we are also extremely outraged by the government’s decision to raise energy tariffs. In an extremely difficult situation in which our country, like the whole world, finds itself, when prices for food, services, fuel, and basic necessities have increased significantly, when people have no money, the government should help the people by raising pensions, wages, reducing taxes, providing interest-free loans and so on. We must say that the roadmap for overcoming the energy crisis is worse than the crisis itself, into which our government plunged the country in the fall of 2020. Instead of using available resources – to increase payment discipline, to revise energy benefits, to fulfill your obligations to combat the illegal activities of citizens in the extraction of cryptocurrency, you plunge the people into poverty, ignoring sound proposals. It should be recalled that the deputies of the Parliament of the 6th convocation proposed a roadmap for overcoming the energy crisis, developed with the participation of energy experts, following which the government can solve the energy problem without resorting to “shock therapy” and even, moreover, free the country’s population from payment for electricity, which would be correct in the context of a global rise in prices.
We want to ask the government, which is primarily obliged to take care of the standard of living of the population: have you ever increased pensions and salaries by more than 100%, that you dare to more than double tariffs?
We want to warn the leadership of the country, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Economy, that the result of such a cynical decision will be even greater disobedience of the people, who, realizing the unfair attitude towards themselves, will pay even less for electricity. And this will be another failed decision of yours, another responsibility for the crisis in the country. Reduce import VAT, reduce the bureaucracy, reduce the scale of corruption – all the reserves to help the people and replenish the budget on the surface. This is your work, which the people pay you and if you please do it, if you are not enemies of the Abkhaz people. If you can’t, then retire before it’s too late.

FAQs
AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Canton KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)
You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.
Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.
Family Stories
Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!
My son has attended KinderCare Learning Center since he was a year and a half old. The care, consideration and leadership of the staff there was immediately transparent from the front office into every classroom down the hall. I was always well informed of everything they were doing currently and next in every age range. When he was two and a half years old I was so thrilled with is progress that I began to look into ways to keep my son active and this is when I came across the enrichment programs. With so many subject choices and levels I first decided to enroll him into Music. It was not long before we began receiving pictures every week along with instruments, packets, books, updates and several at home exercises to stay active. When he was three and a half I increased his Enrichment program from Music to Math and boosted his activity from one day a week to three days a week. It only took a matter of weeks before my son was excited to tell me math problems he knows and was using the Kelsey Counters to play Math board games. This was when I was able to see the development of Learning Blocks that they progressed through the Math program. When he was four and a half I switched him from Math to Phonics and I have to stay this was my favorite program. The research being done to help children understand the correct steps to learn to read through sight words and phonic sounds while he was in Pre-K was a learning experience for us both. On the days he had Phonics it was the first thing he would tell me about when I picked him up. I have no doubt in my mind that the KinderCare staff and the Enrichment Program available helped prepare my son for Kindergarten. Whenever teachers and staff tell me how smart he is and how well he speaks, I humbly only take partial credit. KinderCare has been and continues to be a major part of my son’s successful future!!!
Tim Johnson – KinderCare Parent
My family chose KinderCare in March of 2011, shortly after having our second child. I was very worried about leaving my 8 week old infant at daycare when I returned to work. We took an entire day to “shop around” for daycares. We made 5 appointments that day and just began going from daycare to daycare. KinderCare was our last stop for the day. I will never forget sitting in the chairs outside the infant room….we looked at each other and said, “THIS IS IT.” Not one other day care that entire day could hold a candle to KinderCare. Here are all the things we needed in a daycare that KinderCare has been able to provide at 110% faithfully every day since we enrolled. 1. A loving, caring, structured environment for our infant. The infant room is a magical place. The teachers are so attentive to the needs of my daughter. You will always find the teachers holding, rocking, reading, and playing with the babies. They let them experience life. They have a set lesson plan that they follow and have been educating her since she was 8 weeks old. She is so much further along than other children her age, and we attest that to her attending KinderCare. 2. A daycare that could accept our school age child in the summer and during the school year for professional days, and snow days. The summer program is amazing and is structured around “summer time.” For kids who have parents who work full time jobs, this any kids dream come true. 3. A daycare that is committed to being open all the time. Especially during bad weather, so that parents are not without a place to keep their children and have to miss work. As far a snow days go, I think it is an accomplishment that KinderCare should be very proud of. I can say that I appreciate the fact that the staff opens up every day faithfully so that I do not have to miss work. 4. Food and Hot Lunch program. For anyone who is a parent….Packing a lunch stinks!!!! So thank you to the kitchen staff. 5. An amazing staff, whom consistently has went above and beyond to care for my older child who has Type I diabetes. My son, who is 8, has type 1 diabetes. I can say that KinderCare is the ONLY place that has accepted my son with open arms, and with absolutely no protest or argument of caring for him. The teachers and directors have met our needs 110% and then some. It is a great feeling to sit at work and not have to worry about him. He was able to go on field trips and play all summer, just like a “normal” child and that is something that to our family is priceless. 6. To greet us every day, every time, every phone call with a smile and a happy voice. After a long day at work, nothing makes my evening begin better than the friendly faces that I encounter when I pick up my children. It is so nice to call in and be treated so nice, and be responded to so attentively. Miss Rebecca, Thank you for giving our family the opportunity to write a letter of thanks and appreciation. We will forever be grateful to your staff at KinderCare for providing excellent care to our children. I would rather not single out teachers name by name for fear of overlooking someone, but I can assure you that our family thanks GOD each and every day for each and every one of YOU!!! You jobs are so important and are not overlooked. Each person has a calling in life, and I firmly believe you ALL have found yours. From the bottom of our hearts and with sincere appreciation, Thank you very much !!
Sarah, Tony, Steven and Sianna – KinderCare Parent
One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.

swissinfo.ch
In administrative-territorial terms, Switzerland consists of 20 “whole” cantons and 6 semi-cantons. “Half-canton”, as already mentioned, from a constitutional and legal point of view, is a full-fledged subject of the federation, which has all the rights and obligations.
This content was published on December 07, 2015 – 04:05 PM
swissinfo.ch
Of these twenty-six federal subjects, nineteen are considered German-speaking, six French-speaking and one Italian-speaking. “Romans” do not have their own canton and live mainly in the territory of the German-speaking canton of Graubünden.
Each canton is essentially an independent state, with its own constitution and legislative and executive bodies. The cantons are independent insofar as their rights are not limited by the federal constitution.

The youngest canton of the Jura seceded from the canton of Bern and was admitted to the Confederation in a national referendum in 1979.

The cantons, regardless of their size and population, are equal in terms of their pronounced awareness of their own autonomy and sovereignty, in their self-identification as a full-fledged, historically legitimized, “state formation”.
With a few exceptions (city-canton Basel-City or the miniature canton Appenzell-Innerrhoden), all cantons consist of a large number of partially autonomous and unequal (in size and resources) communities.
Each of the cantons is based on a horizontal political system (separation of powers), characterized by the direct popular election of the executive branch, the presence of instruments of direct democracy (the right of the canton to organize a referendum and initiate legislation) and its own unique party landscape.
The cantons have the same representation in the small chamber of the Swiss Parliament, in the Council of Cantons (two deputies from the canton and one from the half-canton), formally having the same positions within the entire structure of Swiss federalism.
All cantons have certain powers and financial resources. The cantons issue their own laws in the field of energy, health, education, law enforcement, protection and use of natural resources, etc. All this strengthens the cantons as “building blocks” and “components” of the entire edifice of Swiss federalism.

Local level
The community/commune is in Switzerland the basic institution of the whole structure of federalism.
Almost all the cantons in the country consist of a fairly large number of communities of various sizes, each of which has its own political and civic identity and is governed by methods of direct democracy.
At the beginning of 2009 there were 2,636 communities in Switzerland. The average number of inhabitants per community is 2,300. 40% of the communities in the country have less than 500 inhabitants. The number of communities is constantly decreasing.
A person in Switzerland is a citizen of the community, part of the civil and political system of the canton, and, finally, by virtue of belonging to the community, he has the rights of a citizen of all Switzerland.
A Swiss citizen lives in a community. Here he draws up papers and documents for all occasions, from birth to death.
In the community, a person exercises his rights as a voter. Jobs are created in communities. The autonomy of communities is not only a political axiom, but also a social value.
In the community, a person pays taxes. Swiss democracy as a whole is a democracy of the taxpayer, not the recipient of social assistance. This fact is of fundamental importance for understanding Swiss realities.
