FAQs
AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Cerritos KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Interactive Kindergarten (5-6 Years)
Kindergarten is a critical year for young learners. Experienced KinderCare teachers will
tap into your child’s natural curiosity to help get them even more prepared for
elementary school. Our engaging lessons make the most of current technology while
offering plenty of hands-on play and exploration.
Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3-12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it. )
Spanish
Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.
Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!
A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH
An Artist’s Heart
“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.
We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.
Family Stories
Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!
My son has been coming here since he was 4 months old; he is now 2 and a half. He had bad eczema and intermittent hives, and the teachers were very helpful in repeatedly applying lotion to him and administering Benadryl. Over the years, they have really come to know my son, and he loves all of the teachers. He also loves the water play and jumpers in the summer, and music class. This is a great environment for social and mental development. They even helped with potty training. Thanks, KinderCare!
Lanny H. – KinderCare Parent

, TiNAO
A kindergarten for 225 children has been put into operation in the Klenovye Alley residential complex on the territory of the Desenovskoye settlement, the press service of the Moscow State Construction Supervision Committee (Mosgosstroynadzor) reported.
“A permit was received to commission a kindergarten on the territory of the Desenovskoye settlement as part of the Maple Alley residential complex. Construction work was carried out at the address: Kaluga highway, vl. 52b. The object has been assigned a postal address: st. Yavorki, d. 1, building 7 (TiNAO). A modern detached three-story building with a total area of more than 4.1 thousand square meters. m organically fit between the buildings of the residential complex. It is designed to accommodate nine groups of children. The project takes into account the accessibility of a pre-school institution for children with disabilities. At present, the developer has been issued a commissioning permit, ”the words of Igor Voystratenko, chairman of the Moscow State Construction Supervision Authority, are quoted in the message.
It is noted that the kindergarten is divided into functional zones: they include group cells of each age group with playrooms, bedrooms, locker rooms and pantry rooms, specialized premises – multifunctional sports and music halls, circle, related blocks – medical and food, as well as office and administrative premises. In addition, landscaping was carried out on the adjacent territory: sidewalks and blind areas were created, children’s and sports grounds with rubber coating were installed, small architectural forms and lighting were planted, trees and shrubs were planted, and a lawn was laid. There are also nine walking and playing areas with shady canopies, equipped with sandboxes, tables, slides and play forms on the site.
The head of Mosgosstroynadzor recalled that, on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the committee pays special attention to the quality of construction of social facilities.
“At all stages of the construction of a kindergarten in the settlement of Desenovskoye, control and supervision activities were carried out according to the approved program of inspections. In total, eight on-site inspections were organized, including with the participation of specialists from the subordinate Center of Expertise (CEIIS), who carried out a set of laboratory and instrumental studies on the quality of work and materials used for compliance with the requirements of project documentation,” Voystratenko emphasized.
Anastasia Pyatova, chairman of the Moscow Committee for Ensuring the Implementation of Investment Projects in Construction and Control in Shared Construction (Moskomstroyinvest), who was also quoted by the press service, said that the project developer is MIC, and 225 kids will be able to study in the kindergarten. “With the commissioning of the kindergarten, the developer fulfilled its obligations to build a social program in Klenovye Alleys: before that, the developer commissioned an educational complex that includes a school for a thousand children and a kindergarten for 225 children. Moskomstroyinvest and the developer signed an agreement on the transfer to the city of both the educational complex and a separate kindergarten,” Pyatova explained.
The chairman of Moskomstroyinvest specified that the residential part of Klenovye Alley had already been put into operation. She added that a total of 15 buildings have been built here. According to her, the residential complex is provided with the necessary infrastructure, transport accessibility is also improving. In particular, it is planned to open a metro station within walking distance from the new development. Pyatova recalled that in 2022 the Mayor of Moscow inspected the social infrastructure under construction at Maple Alley.

Krasnoyarsk woman who intended to kill boys in kindergarten was sentenced to 17 years in prison
In March 2022, then 19-year-old Polina Dvorkina shot her father and came to the kindergarten with a gun hidden under her clothes.
The guards did not stop the girl, she went inside without any problems – and already there she was stopped by a physical instructor and two teachers.
The police were called to the scene, and a weapon was found under the girl’s jacket.
In her last speech, the girl stated that she had come to the conclusion
“men are the dominant class, which owns all the estates of capital, and the female class is exploited by men. In addition, men commit crimes to a greater extent than women.”
On July 5, she was sentenced to 17 years in prison.
She was also prescribed treatment by a psychiatrist, she will undergo it in the colony.
Her mother has previously stated that she intends to claim compensation for non-pecuniary damage for the murder of her husband.

Child Care FAQs
The national typical hourly rate in 2022 is $20. 00 per hour for nannies and $17.50 for babysitters. Rates can vary based on the child care provider’s experience, certifications, employment status, and travel expenses. When calculating the cost of child care, you should also account for the number of children they’ll care for and additional responsibilities like household tasks or homework help. Learn more about how to set competitive rates for attracting the best babysitters.
The best way to find child care near you is to post a job detailing your needs on Sittercity, which will be shared with our community of available babysitters and nannies. We’ll notify you when child care providers apply to your job, and from there you can proceed with interviews, background checks, and reference checks so you can find the perfect fit for your family.
You can find experienced and passionate child care providers near you to provide the best care for your child, either in-home or virtually. Child care providers can help families with managing strict schedules, transportation to activities, homework help, last-minute coverage, date nights, and more. Whether you’re looking for full-time, part-time, live-in, or temporary care, you can count on Sittercity for finding passionate and experienced child care providers.
Families find trustworthy child care providers on Sittercity who are passionate about providing safe and enriching care for their children. Many providers report they are First Aid and CPR certified to provide the best care for your family. Babysitters and nannies have the option to complete regular background checks, and you can easily request a recent background check if they don’t have one or it is not recent. Families can also request to see professional references!
Our dedicated team also champions safety across our platform every day. Child care providers go through an identity verification process Berbix when registering an account. Some additional safety measures include Family Watchdog screening, babysitter and nanny reviews, and secure messaging.
Nannies and babysitters share the same primary responsibility of providing safe and enriching care for your child, but there are a few differences between them. Nannies are more commonly associated with regular work, whether full or part-time, offering daily or consistent care to a particular family. There are also several different types of nannies, including au pairs, house managers, doulas, live-in, and overnight nannies.
Babysitters, on the other hand, are typically hired for irregular or occasional work, either full or part-time. If you’re looking for last-minute care for date night, or the occasional few hours after school, a babysitter is a great best option.
Identifying the type and frequency of child care you’ll need is the best way to decide whether a babysitter or nanny is a better fit for your family.
Child care providers on Sittercity love providing enriching experiences for your children, and sharing their passions with them. They’re happy to participate in outdoor activities like sports, or indoor activities like music, baking, tutoring help, and art. Wherever your child’s interests lie, child care providers on Sittercity can engage them in a nurturing way.

Welcome to Truro Preschool and Kindergarten!
Learn More
We are so glad you found us! Truro Preschool and Kindergarten is an engaging place for children to grow and learn. We are a Christian developmental, play-based preschool. Our approach is to teach to the whole child, using a variety of materials, with a well-rounded curriculum of teacher-led and child-led experiences.
Our goal is to help children to become confident learners and problem-solvers with solid academic and social skills, knowing they are loved by God and designed to experience a relationship with him.
Learn More
And with a child with a food allergy, that is a great gift. We’ve been so thankful and grateful to be a part of this community for the past three years.
Truro Preschool has provided a wonderful foundation of learning for my son. His daily experience involves sweet lessons of life through creatively intentional play and instruction. Every fruit of the Spirit is on display throughout the staff at Truro. My son goes to school with sweet confidence and assurance knowing he is safe and loved as he daily flexes new muscles of growing and learning. Truro Preschool is a remarkably special place!
TPK has been a huge blessing for our family, and we have been so lucky to have our two girls, ages 3 and 5, at this wonderful school. The teachers and office leadership are incredibly focused on the well-being, safety, and development of their students, and our children are thriving in this environment. As a physician, I was very pleased with all the safety measures in place in the 2020 school year, as well as the drive and determination to continue in-person school, despite the related challenges.
I would recommend TPK to any family looking for a nurturing, loving, and supportive environment for their children.
We have loved the warm and safe environment at TPK, full of play and hands-on learning. Even the playground has creative play, like tree stump balance beams and a wooden kitchen, in addition to a full playground. Our kids have been fully prepared for Kindergarten, both academically and socially, and we especially love that the good news of Jesus is taught throughout and overflows in the teachers and administration.
TPK is unique in the balanced value it places on encouraging our children’s social-emotional, academic, and spiritual growth within a loving and fun community. As working parents, we especially appreciate the support we receive from teachers and leadership through the before and after school care program!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ”- Jeremiah 29:11

Fairfax KinderCare Programs
Before- and After-School Programs (5-12 Years)
You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!
School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)
Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.
(Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)
We first met Miss Seble when I dropped my 8-week old daughter at Kindercare over three years ago. From the moment I reluctantly passed my baby to her, I knew she was in good hands. Seble has a warmth and kindness that fills a room. When you leave your children with her, they become her children. She protects them, make sure they are attended to and that they feel loved every day.
Under Miss Seble’s care, my youngest daughter met her developmental milestones early and has become a well-adjusted social butterfly. My oldest moved to Kindercare when she was 4, and had a hard time adjusting at first. Even though my daughter wasn’t directly under her care, Miss Seble went out of her way to make sure my shy, insecure girl knew she had someone there to give her hugs and words of encouragement when she wasn’t feeling confident.
The kids love her as much as she loves them. My girls run to her every morning to get a big hug and say “I love you Miss Seble!” Even on the days when my baby girl is grumpy, Miss Seble always comes out to cheer her up and get her excited for the day.
It’s not just my kids who adore her. She has a line of kids of all ages lined up at her classroom door every morning for hugs and maybe a little treat. Nothing makes a parent happier than to know that someone loves your kids as much as you do (perhaps, even more some days!).
We are grateful and blessed to know her, and we consider her family.
Nicole W. – KinderCare Parent
Ms. Seble has cared for both our daughters at KinderCare Fairfax, Annelise (7 1/2 years old) and Celeste (4years old) who is still enrolled at KinderCare. She takes a deep interest in both your family and your child.
Her relationship with our kids has continued as they have grown up through KinderCare. I’ve seen this same connection with other kids as they visit her infant room in the mornings to say hello. I don’t think a parent can ask for more than someone who truly cares for your child and family.
Rudy W. – KinderCare Parent
My girls love going here!! The teachers are very engaged with the kids. Mrs. Seble & Salma have helped me a lot with my youngest daughter and her feedings. The staff is always helpful and friendly, thank you for all that you guys do!

The Little Prince
Description
“The Little Prince” is an allegorical story, the most famous work of Antoine de Saint-Exupery. The drawings in the book are made by the author himself and are no less famous than the book itself. It is important that these are not illustrations, but an organic part of the work as a whole: the author himself and the heroes of the tale all the time refer to the drawings and even argue about them. The unique illustrations in The Little Prince break down language barriers and become part of a universal visual lexicon understandable to everyone.
“After all, all adults were children at first, only few of them remember this” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery, from the dedication to the book.
Three comrades
Description
Three friends – Robbie, a desperate racing driver Kester and “the last romantic” Lenz went through the First World War. After returning to civilian life, they founded a small car repair shop. And although the ghosts of the past haunt them, they do not lose heart – after all, what could be better than friendship, strong and faithful, for which you can give the last? Probably only love that knows no boundaries and limits. Beautiful and sad Pat, Robbie’s tender lover, dispels the darkness of the meaninglessness of his existence. However, the newfound happiness is threatened by the echoes of the same war – existing not only in the memory and consciousness of the heroes, but in a harsh way embodied in reality … This story once and for all won the hearts of millions of readers around the world. Generations have grown up on this book, it has long been torn apart into quotes, it has been repeatedly filmed and continues to be staged. It makes you want to read it over and over again.

Online tests for children – from grade 1 and older
Here you will find online tests for children of different ages from the children’s portal “Chudo-Yudo”. Tests are divided into age and thematic categories. When passing tests, you need to take into account that the questions only seem simple at first glance. You need to be very attentive and quick-witted in order to answer all the questions correctly.
To start studying, select the appropriate age group, and in it choose the required test topic.
To view your child’s test results, you must register him and log in with his username and password. In the Test Results section, you will find detailed information about your child’s successes and failures in the test process. You will be able to find out what tests the child passed, how many points he scored, how much time he spent on the task and, of course, most importantly, whether he passed the test or not. Thus, you can always monitor the level of development of your child, having a clear idea of what tasks cause him difficulties. Paying attention to tasks that are difficult for the child, it will be easier for you to understand what needs to be emphasized in learning. In addition, tests will allow you to find out if your child’s level of knowledge corresponds to the age group to which he belongs. If a child fails the test the first time, they will have the opportunity to retake it the next day.
After each incorrect answer, the points that the child gains by answering the questions correctly are reduced. The task of the child is to score 100 points. After passing the test, the child will see how many points he scored, how long he took the test and how many mistakes he made. He will also be able to see which questions he answered incorrectly and what mistakes he made.
If the child made at least one mistake in the test, then the test receives the status “Not passed”. It is possible to answer questions again only after a given period of time.
The processing time for each test is approximately 1-2 minutes. Do not reload the page until the final table appears with the number of points scored and the answers for each question. If the answer is incorrect, it will be highlighted in red, and next to it the correct answer will be shown in blue. If the answer is correct, it will be shown in green.

Learning to read – A set of games and tasks to develop reading skills
In the section “Teaching to read” you will find a lot of interesting educational materials for children of preschool and primary school age. Here are a variety of printable educational materials designed to teach preschoolers to read, as well as to test the child’s level of knowledge in the humanities. These tasks are suitable for regular homework with the child, developing his speech and intellectual abilities, as well as fully preparing him for the school curriculum.
Also in this section you will find classes on the development of reading skills and verbal-logical thinking. This category contains printable tasks that educators can use as didactic material for working with a group of children. Teaching reading to preschoolers is always faster and more effective when it sparks a child’s interest. So do not neglect the variety of materials presented to make classes with your child more fun and interesting.
Reading for children by syllables – Tales and stories by syllables
This section contains fairy tales and short stories by syllables for teaching reading to preschoolers 4-7 years old. Reading simple texts and fairy tales with children is the easiest and best way to teach a child to read.
Write a word from letters – Reading task
In this section you will find many tasks, in each of which you need to make a word from letters. In some tasks, you need to compose words from given letters, and in some you need to learn the letters yourself (by the first letter of each word-picture). There are also tasks in which you need to make words from mixed letters or find hidden words.
Stories with pictures instead of words for children
Here you can download short stories for children with pictures instead of words for children of preschool and primary school age. When reading the presented stories, you need to insert the right words instead of pictures. This kind of learning to read is very interesting for children who are learning to read.
Russian alphabet in order for preschoolers
Here we will study the Russian alphabet in order, from the letter A to the letter Z. Two letters are given on each worksheet. Each letter corresponds to several pictures. You need to circle only those picture words that begin with a given letter.
Learning the Russian alphabet
In this section you can download materials that will help you learn the Russian alphabet easily and simply. There are special tasks for learning the Russian alphabet, and cards with letters for printing, and much more… in a special square where the letters are arranged in a chaotic manner. Each search word corresponds to one picture outside the square. The order of letters in words can be horizontal, vertical and diagonal.

The length of the streets – 8.4 km, all paved. The housing stock is 18,088 sq.m. One family lives in the fishing grounds.
The encyclopedia “History of Siberia” mentions that in the second half of the 17th century there was already a village of Laryak with 10 houses with a Russian population. In the reference book “List of populated places in the Siberian Territory” (1929 year, Novosibirsk) says: “… Lariak arose in 1816 …”. However, it is also known that the Church of the Sign in Laryak was built in 1772. Its ministers lived at the expense of the “voluntary alms” of the parishioners, who numbered 243 people.
According to the oral traditions of the Vakh Khanty, their ancestors in the distant past, even before the arrival of the Russians, lived on the As-Yakh (Ob) River and its vast water meadows. The reason for the resettlement from the Ob to the Vakh is most likely the wars with the Tatars, who in the 16th century seized the lands of the Irtysh and the middle Ob and pushed back the Ostyaks who lived there. In turn, the Khanty drove the Nenets to the Taz River. By the end of the 16th century, the Russians came here.
In 1925, with the advent of Soviet power, the Native Council was formed in Laryak. In 1928 – Laryaksky Tuzrik, or the Indigenous District Executive Committee with subordination to the Aleksandrovsky District Council of the Tomsk District. In those years, the village was located: the village council, a school, a joint-stock company “Raw materials”, a shop. According to the 1926 census, the population was 172; Russians dominated. Outdoor 4-year-old birthday party ideas
Camping
If your little guy or gal loves the great outdoors and has a birthday with an ideal seasonal temperature for a backyard party, a camping theme is an amazing idea. It is definitely something different, and being outside makes it easier to organize interactive activities the kids will enjoy and simplifies cleanup.
Incorporate camping favorites like making s’mores, roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, telling or reading stories around a fire pit, and playing backyard games like cornhole. Plan a scavenger hunt and use binoculars or small magnifying glasses to get a closer look at nature in your own backyard. For goodie bags, send home marshmallows, chocolate bars, and graham crackers for making s’mores at home.
Ice cream
Everyone screams for ice cream, and an entire party devoted to this delectable treat is definitely going to be cool! Streamers in bold colors set the tone. Get matching party hats — a cone-shaped traditional one will certainly complement the ice-cream theme. Kids have basic tastes, so you don’t have to go crazy with the flavors. Vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry are the ice cream flavors most preschoolers eat. You can change things up by adding tasty toppings like M&Ms, sprinkles, cookie dough, chocolate chips, whipped cream, and whatever else the guest of honor would appreciate.
It’s always a good idea to avoid any peanut-related toppings. Check beforehand if any of the partygoers have food allergies. There are vegan ice cream options for any kids allergic to dairy. With ice cream as the main course, you won’t need to worry about the cake.
For activities, try to plan games using ice cream as inspiration. Think ice-cream bingo and spoon-and-cherry relay races. Another fun idea would be to set up a scavenger hunt where the guests need to follow clues to find the hidden toppings. For this game, leave the toppings in unopened containers for the kids to find. Then, dish out the toppings. A cute party favor would be a personalized ice cream cup with a spoon.
Beach
A beach or summer theme is always fun regardless of the time of year your 4-year-old’s party will be. Personalized pails with a shovel make great party favors. If the weather is hot, organize backyard games with water, beach balls, and pool noodles. Set up a baby pool with water and one with sand, and include beach toys, too. For food, you can go with a barbecue theme or the kid-favorite pizza.
If you do have a pool and want to incorporate a pool party along with the beach theme, just remember that some of the guests won’t be the best swimmers. Have swimmies, pool noodles, and life jackets on hand or ask the partygoers to bring their own. If possible, hire a certified lifeguard to watch the pool from the time guests arrive until they leave. This will ensure the safety of all the guests and let you enjoy the party along with your child.
Sports
Kiddos who are 4 years of age love to play sports, and many of them may be participating in soccer or T-ball, which makes a sports theme a fun option, too. Holding the party at an indoor sports facility where the birthday boy or girl gets to choose the activities takes the stress off you. Part of the package usually includes a party host to organize and lead games. For decorations, go with your child’s favorite sport. Balls are a party favor kids will enjoy.

Pajama party
Preschoolers are absolutely thrilled when it’s pajama day in school. So, why not have a 4-year-old pajama birthday party? But don’t worry — it doesn’t have to be a true sleepover. The party can be late afternoon or earlier in the day. Deck the party area in bright colors and have guests bring a sleeping bag or blanket so they can cuddle up to it. Kids will love wearing their favorite PJs.
Party activities can include a movie and some storytime with top preschool book series, including “Pete the Cat,” “Curious George,” “Clifford the Big Red Dog,” and “The Berenstain Bears.” Have popcorn on hand for snacking. If you need extra activities, have board games available. A cookie or doughnut cake is a yummy change of pace. Hot cocoa mix and cookies make a delicious goodie bag.
Superheroes
What 4-year-old doesn’t love superheroes? Have your little one and their little guests dress up as their favorites, and be sure to pick up party favors that go along with whatever character the birthday girl or boy happens to like best. Seeing all those little kids running around in capes will surely make for some Insta-worthy moments. Have super snacks and play active games, such as bean bag toss, and set up a backyard obstacle course for all those superheroes to show off their superpowers.
Craft party
One thing’s for certain, you can’t go wrong by having crafts for little hands to put together during a party! As a bonus, whatever crafts you choose to make can double as a party favor for guests to take home. You could have them paint rocks or t-shirts, or you could even go a much simpler route and get out the construction paper and crayons. Top it off with having kids decorate their own cupcakes and cookies for a sweet birthday snack.

Pirate quest
What do you associate with pirates? Fearless navigators plowing the endless sea, searching for a long-forgotten treasure, adventures and adventures, messages in bottles and ships under black sails. All this excites the imagination of kids, both boys and girls like it, so the theme can be safely used in any audience when preparing a home event, birthday.
The advantage of a pirate theme is the abundance of entertainment and the availability of scenery. In preparation, simply draw a treasure hunt map, print piastres and hang crossed-bones flags against a black background. Costumes for kids will also be easy to make and very colorful. In addition to the pleasure received by children, you can organize an excellent photo zone and capture a colorful event on video. And we will help to write a script and prepare contests.
Getting ready for a pirate party
The party starts with invitations. If you are organizing a holiday in honor of the birthday of your child, then you can tell him that he is the captain of this ship, and the guests are his faithful team. To set sail, you need to gather the whole team on board the schooner, so prepare invitations with your child in advance.
The text must match the pirate style, so you can insert words and phrases like “Yo-ho-ho”, “Break me with thunder!” or “A thousand devils”. The invitation must include the date and time of the party, as well as the address. Here is an example for inspiration:
“Yo-ho-ho, dear pirate! I invite you to a pirate party, which will take place on board my schooner “Black Pearl”. It is moored on the pier at the address (here we indicate the address of the event). I’ll be waiting for you when the bottles on the ship strike (time). I need your help to go on a treasure hunt! Captain, a thunderstorm of all seas and oceans (child’s name). P.S. Support me – come in a suit!
The invitation can be printed on A4 paper or handwritten. The idea of an interesting design: paper can be dipped in coffee and dried (thus visually aging it), the edges can be burned or torn. Such an old “parchment” must be rolled up into a tube and put into a bottle, after removing the label from it, and seal it. Done – the invited pirate will receive a real pirate message in a bottle.
While preparing for the party, you will also need to think over paraphernalia. This is the scenery of the room, which for one day will turn into a pirate schooner, as well as props and accessories for each pirate.
These can be:
theme posters;
black flags with torn edges, traditionally depicting skulls and crossbones or sabers;
flags that can be hung as a streamer, with the inscription “Happy Birthday” or “Pirate Party”;
drink holders and toppers;
merit medals or piastres;
pirate outfit: masks, hats, paper or plastic weapons.
Additionally, you can make any attributes for which you have enough imagination and budget – bandages for one eye, soft toys of parrots on the shoulders, posters with painted ships on the walls, a steering wheel and a captain’s cabin as a photo zone and much more. Any items for navigation are relevant – a compass, sea charts, globes, sextants and telescopes. All this can be printed on paper or found in the attic. From the foam, you can cut an anchor, cores for cannons. Furniture and walls can be draped with ropes and sails, and shells and sea pebbles can be scattered across the floor.
You also need to take care of the reward. If you plan to hold treasure hunt contests, then you definitely need to make a chest, as well as an island map that will lead to a cache. At the end of the holiday, the birthday person can find a treasury where the main gift will be located. All pirates can receive symbolic prizes for participating in games, such as chocolate medals or coins.
A ready-made set of paper paraphernalia is included with the pirate quest, which can be ordered on the website of the Academy of Curiosity.
Scenario of a pirate party: games and contests
To make the party interesting and meaningful, you need to come up with a story. For example, a host dressed as an old pirate can act as a teacher who passes on his knowledge to the younger generation. At the beginning of the party, a seasoned sea wolf may turn to the young captain (birthday boy) and his crew (guests): “Today you are old enough to lead the journey to treasure island! This is your first time at sea, so I will teach you all the tricks of the pirate life, and with you all your sailors. In your swimming you will find yourself in a variety of situations: overcome difficulties, work in a team, escape from angry sharks and discover new islands. But first, we must recruit a friendly team and dedicate each of you to the pirates.
The facilitator opens the chest and invites each member of the crew to pull out a piece of paper. On it is a new name, a pirate nickname. Since the presence of a woman on a ship is in trouble, then the nicknames will be male, for example: Lucky Jack, One-Eyed Tod, Storm of the Seas, Blackbeard, Red Harry, Black Corsair, Jack Sparrow, Captain Flint, Mad Jackie, Barbossa, Bootstrap Bill.
When each participant has been given a new name and introduced himself, the facilitator offers to address them only in the pirate style during the evening. Now you can consider the team recruited, it’s time to set sail and set sail! But to become real sea pirates, you need to pass all the tests of the evening. Each competition is an adventure on the way to the treasure island that you need to go through in order to move on.
Young sailors will learn what commands the captain gives on the ship and how to follow them, what dances the pirates perform, and what difficulties await them on the high seas and on uninhabited islands. For successfully passing the test, they will be rewarded with a treasure chest full of pirate jewels.
It is not necessary to use all the games offered to organize a pirate party for children. You can choose those competitions that correspond to the age of the players, and are also more convenient for preparation.
1. Fire in one gulp!
Divide all participants into two equal teams. They are pirates on warring ships. They met in the open sea and between them there is only a strip of water (stretched rope). The task of both teams is to sink the enemy’s schooner, this can be done with the help of a powerful volley of cannonballs.
While the music is playing, you need to throw balloons (cores) onto the enemy’s side. The vessel is considered to be flooded, on which there were more balls, when the sea battle came to an end, that is, when the music ended.
2. Dive for treasures
A sunken frigate is on the way of beginning pirates. According to legend, one nobleman was transporting his wealth on it, but he was overtaken by a storm. Now there are many valuable items on the seabed. The task of each participant is to kneel (dive) with their eyes closed, find an object and guess by touch what it is. You can close the player’s eyes with the help of a dark canvas or underwater glasses with a painted glass. You can put small marine-themed items on the floor – shells, toy fish, a boat figurine, a pebble from the sea coast, an anchor. For each participant in turn, you need to lay out one figure. For a successful underwater adventure, a pirate is entitled to a small prize.
3. Underwater Treasury
The ship sank along with all the jewels that were transported on it. And on the seabed now lies a lot of gold coins. I want to collect them all, but you can hold your breath underwater for only one minute. Therefore, we will need brave divers.
Divide the children into two teams. We scatter coins on the floor, you can hide some of them, leave others in plain sight. The task of the participants is to find and collect as many coins as possible in a minute. The facilitator watches the time with a stopwatch. When the minute is up, all divers “surface” and count the team’s gold. The team with the most coins wins and receives a small reward.
4. Water – Land
Our ship landed on a deserted island. But the captain is unsure if he is safe. Therefore, pirates must quickly follow commands, get up on land or return to the sea, so as not to get into trouble.
The game is quite simple, focused on attention and reaction speed. Suitable for children of any age, even the smallest, four years. For it, you need to draw a circle on the floor (this is an island) of such dimensions that all participants fit into it without pushing. All children should stand inside the circle, and then on the command “Water!” jump out of it. On the second command “Land!” you need to jump back into the circle. It becomes more fun when the host starts to confuse the guys by repeating the same word.
5. Escaping the shark
We left the desert island and now we have to swim back to the ship. The sea is unsafe – a toothy shark swims. But she hunts only at night, so when dusk comes, you need to freeze and not move, and continue swimming during the day. When the host says “Day”, all the pirates move, swim and dive. When the host says “Night”, everyone should freeze.
If someone moves or laughs, the shark (represented by the leader) grabs the sailor and takes him prisoner. To make it more interesting, the shark can be changed, children themselves can play for it.
6. Whose island is this?
We swam away from the shark, but we got into trouble again – a storm broke out at sea. You can save yourself only by mooring to a safe shore. But the trouble is that there are not enough islands for everyone. Let’s see which pirate is more dexterous and has time to moor.
One less number of gymnastic hoops than children should be laid out on the floor. They symbolize the islands. When the music is playing, pirates on boats plow the ocean, maneuvering between land areas. As soon as the music subsides, a storm begins and the sailors must moor to the nearest island – jump into the hoop. The one who could not find a free shelter is out of the game. With each new circle, one hoop should be removed until one of the most dexterous pirates remains.
7. Cast off and weigh anchor
We finally got back on deck and it was time to set sail. To do this, you need to raise an anchor from the seabed. But you need to do it as quickly as possible so as not to fall into the storm again. The leader calls several brave sailors. They each have a pencil in their hands, a rope is attached to them, at the end of which is a cardboard anchor. The task of the race participants is to wind a thread around a pencil, thus raising the anchor. Whoever did it first wins and deserves a prize. The game is suitable for older children, six or seven years old.
8. What did the pirate say?
The team has already experienced many adventures together, it’s time to check what they have learned during this time. The facilitator invites each member of the crew to name in turn the words that are associated with the sea, the ship, the pirate life.
If the child thinks for more than 5 seconds, he is out and passes the move to the next player, then everything is repeated in a circle. As a result, one sailor remains, who is best acquainted with maritime and ship terms. The smallest participants can be helped by asking leading questions.
9. Sea knot
In this game we have to find out who can unravel real sea knots. To begin with, appoint a leader – at first it may be a birthday boy, then other guys will take his role. Water should leave the room or turn away and close your eyes. At this time, the rest of the robbers join hands, forming a circle. Their task is to get confused as much as possible, but at the same time not to disengage their hands. To do this, they can step over the hands of a neighboring player, crawl between the legs, twist.
When the children are so confused that only the most seasoned sea dog can spin them, they should loudly call the leader: “Polundra!”. He, in turn, must unravel the sea knot without breaking the chain. Reward all the participants, because they had a hard time. But now the whole team knows how to unravel the most difficult knots!
10. Pirate relay
Pirates landed on the island, but it turned out to be very dangerous and full of adventures. The guys will need to split into two teams, show solidarity and competitive spirit. To be the first to reach the treasury, all crew members will need to complete an obstacle course.
The relay can be held outdoors or at home, depending on the tasks. Some of them require a lot of free space. Participants must complete contests and then pass the turn to a friend until each member of the team has passed all the tests.
Here is an example of tasks:
Walk along a narrow board (be careful, there are piranhas below!).
Climb over low-strung ropes, that is, dive into the depths of the sea.
Jump over the swamp, stepping only on land – sheets of A5 format.
Details on creating an obstacle course are described in the article “Obstacle course for children with their own hands”.
At the end of the relay, the children must reach the treasure chest with coins or sweets.
11. Pirate puzzle
Sometimes pirates get into trouble when they need to show quick wit and ingenuity. The best way to test them is to let them solve the puzzle. To do this, the host distributes envelopes to the children, in which there are images of a pirate ship cut into pieces, treasure islands, maps for finding treasure and other pictures. The task of the guys is to collect the puzzles as soon as possible.
You can download colorful printable cards from the link below. When preparing, consider the age of young sailors. The younger they are, the fewer parts the picture should be cut into.
Download puzzles
12. We sink enemy schooners
Everyone on deck! There are enemy schooners on the horizon, they need to be sunk with the help of ship’s cannons. Each sailor has five shells to hit the enemy ships.
To organize a competition, you can prepare toy boats or paper crafts. Plastic skittles can be an alternative; printed pictures with ships can be attached to them. They need to be placed at a distance of 1.5-2 meters from children. Participants have small balls in their hands. They need to shoot down targets, thereby sinking the enemy. The most accurate shooter can be awarded a medal.
13. We dry the deck
After a naval battle, a lot of gunpowder remained on the deck, and after a storm – salt, a real sailor will not allow this! Let’s see how the sailors cope with the mop and polish the deck to a shine.
Divide the children into 2 groups, line up as in a relay race. The first participants must use a broom or brush to bring a small box used as garbage to the mark, and then back. After that, they pass the tool to the next participant.
The team that completes the task the fastest wins.
14. Boarding
Hand-to-hand combat is often used during naval skirmishes. Then the order “To board!” sounds from the commander, and all sailors must quickly climb onto the deck in order to approach the enemy ship and capture it. The outcome of the battle often depends on the speed of execution of the captain’s orders. So now is the time to find out which team is faster.
The facilitator again divides the children into two groups, each of them is assigned its own “vessel” – a sofa or chairs placed next to each other. When the music is playing, the robbers run and dance. But as soon as the music is turned off, and the command “Board!” sounds from the leader, the children must climb into their ship. The ship’s crew that does it faster wins.
15. Dance Like a Pirate
When all the tests are passed, the sea robbers like to relax and dance in the tavern. It is also a good reason to choose the best dancer.
The facilitator puts all the children in a circle, turns on the music and gives one of them a spyglass (the item can be replaced with any other pirate-themed item). The guys pass the pipe from hand to hand. When the music ends, the object remains in the hands of the main dancer – it is he who will show the movements, and the rest will repeat after him. The game can be repeated several times until the pirates get tired of dancing.
16. Pirate quest
Finally, offer the children to go through an exciting quest. This is a chain of tasks, completing which the guys will receive a prize, for example, the answer, where to look for treasures. The quest can be thought out independently, the main thing is that the tests are connected with each other by one topic and go sequentially (linearly). Let’s give examples of tasks:
Crossword from pirate expressions and marine terms. Having guessed them and entered them into the grid, you will get a hint word where to look for the next task.
Riddle in verse form. The answer to it will tell you where the next test is.
Which word is superfluous? From the list of words, you need to choose one that somehow stands out from the rest. It will be a hint.
You can buy a pirate quest at the Academy of Curiosity for children aged 5-7. The kit contains all the materials for the quest, as well as pirate paraphernalia. They only need to be printed.
You can also watch a video of how I prepared for the pirate quest, and how everything went for us.
And for older children we offer a novelty! Quest “Find the treasures of pirates” for children 7-9 years old. Young sailors have to go to Treasure Island and find a chest with untold riches there. Will they be able to overcome all obstacles?
All tasks are connected by the same plot. In the basic version of the quest, you will find: easy and difficult versions of cards, a logbook, a map of Treasure Island, instructions and a task layout scheme. The extended set additionally includes holiday paraphernalia, themed games and music.
At the end of the party, the host should again turn to the birthday captain and his team of guests and thank everyone for their participation. It can be noted what brave, courageous, dexterous pirates they have become. Arrange a real pirate party for the children and enjoy their satisfied smiles and perky laughter!

Children’s camps for children 6 years old and schoolchildren 7.8 years old
Most camps in the Moscow region are intended for children 6-7 years old and older. At the end of kindergarten and first grade, many children are already ready for independent rest without parents. But is it possible to go to a children’s camp at the age of 5 without parents and how will the child endure separation? What are the alternatives for holidays with preschoolers?
Rest for children aged 5
Five-year-old children, as a rule, attend kindergarten. That is, they have already been trained in basic skills – they know how to dress themselves, wash their hands, go to the toilet. In addition, children understand the principles of interaction with the team. But day care in kindergarten is different from life in a preschool camp.
Differences of the preschool camp:
In the 24-hour care facility, the child will have to wash, brush their teeth, change their underwear, and sometimes wash their clothes, for example, if the supply of clean socks is over. It is good if the camp has a laundry and staff who will tell you. But if the teachers are interns, the child will have a harder time.
Summer camp for children aged 5 is more like a 24-hour garden. Visits are usually prohibited, otherwise the child will start asking to go home.
In children’s camps for children of 5 years old, programs are developed taking into account the characteristics of age: children are less independent, less inclined to observe discipline, more attention and professional training is required from the group leader.
There are very few institutions of this type, most often summer camp programs for preschoolers are designed for family vacations: groups of parents and children are formed who participate in activities together. This option is easier for kids, because one of the relatives is always there, and it is always easier to explore the world around under the protection of a familiar person. For example, the tour operator “Time Beyond” develops exciting family vacation programs that combine team building games, sports events, pool recreation and fun quests that will impress both kids and their parents. Family camps for preschoolers can be excellent preparation so that in a couple of years your child will enthusiastically accept the idea of going to camp without parents.
Camp for 6-year-olds
Six-year-olds are already more independent than five-year-olds. Now many tour operators organize active recreation for preschoolers in ecologically clean areas.
The summer camp for children aged 6 most often goes after kindergarten before entering the 1st grade. Such rest can serve as a transitional stage when the child says goodbye to childhood and becomes a schoolboy. In this case, you need to choose a program taking into account the nature and level of development of the child. In the camp, preschoolers can learn to adapt to a new environment, develop communication skills, and gain experience in forming a new team. Someone is already ready to try their hand at independent rest, someone will not be able to stay without parents even for a few days: quite a lot of camps begin to form children’s groups from the age of 6, but older relatives can still choose a family vacation program with kids. In addition, preparing for school is also stressful for the child, adult support and joint active pastime will help them develop self-confidence.
Children’s camp from the age of 7
Seven-year-old children are already ready for an independent stay in the DOL, although the character of the child must always be taken into account. In the camp, games for children of 7 years old are always selected taking into account physical, emotional and mental development. First-graders are impressionable, they believe in fairy tales, they are mobile, they cannot sit still for a long time. Therefore, many programs are based on well-known and popular books or films, such as “The Land of Oz” and “Journey to Never Land”, which not only captivate with a fairy-tale setting, but also teach useful skills through master classes, quests and role-playing games. But there are also inquisitive children, little “why-whys”, who are more suitable for a training program, for example, the role-playing game “Secret Academy”, during which the kids will immerse themselves in the secret world of spy games, learning cartography, encryption, developing dexterity in sports games, as well as logic, creativity and resourcefulness in master classes.
For the first time, a 7-year-old child can be sent to a camp near Moscow: close to home and on a short shift. Only if the child is comfortable without mom and dad, then you can already send them further from home. Some parents immediately send their 7-year-old children to a camp by the sea, and then do not know how to pick up the child when he begins to actively ask to go home. Choosing our tours, you can be sure: the kids are under the vigilant supervision of adults, on parental days you can safely visit them – our recreation center is located 50 km from the Moscow Ring Road along Novorizhskoye Highway to the north-west of Moscow.
Summer camp for a child of 8 years old
7-8 years old is the optimal age for the first trip to the camp. The school teaches you to be independent, so most elementary school students are mentally prepared for a trip for 1-3 weeks. If in the kindergarten children cry and ask to go home, then at the end of the first grade there are practically no such children left.
Check if a child at the age of 8 is ready for a children’s camp:
The child knows how to take care of himself: washes his hair, brushes his teeth without being reminded, can wash small things.
Keeps track of his belongings, rarely loses them, knows how to maintain elementary order on his desk and shelves.
Understands the rules. There are usually no problems with this, since there are settings in the family, school, section. Only very capricious children are not ready to observe discipline.
Does not shy away from the team. Some children can have a great time alone, but if necessary, adapt to a new company. A rare child truly eschews peers. The craving for loneliness appears much later – in adolescence. Even if the child is shy, experienced leaders help to liberate and join the team.
Summer camp for children aged 8 in Moscow usually operates on the basis of a school. This is a daytime establishment. But if you want your child to spend his first summer in the camp more intensely, it makes sense to choose a suitable developmental program in a private camp – today you can find any kind, from sports and language, to teaching and developing creative abilities. Start choosing a camp by determining what your child would love to do during the holidays: learn something new in science, immerse yourself in fantasy worlds during a role-playing game, or immerse yourself in quests and orienteering workshops. Camps near Moscow provide a huge selection of author’s programs – on our website you can not only get acquainted with the plans of events, but also see the reviews of vacationers.
Camp for children 9-10 years old
From the age of 9, you can go to the children’s camp almost without any obstacles. Children are already quite independent and disciplined, they have a strong thirst for adventure and communication.
Although the children are still very active, the school has taught them perseverance. You can devote more time to master classes and quizzes. At the same time, when drawing up programs, methodologists do not forget about the balance between cognitive activities and activities. Not only entertainment programs based on well-known franchises can captivate children (Jedi Order or Hogwarts Express from our catalog are a vivid example), but also educational educational tours full of experiments and discoveries (LaboratoriUM) – from research and mini-conferences to sports and tactical games in the fresh air.
Where to relax for children in the summer
Are you looking for a suitable place for recreation with preschoolers or DOL for children 7-9 years old? The company “Time Beyond” organizes summer camp holidays for children from 7 years old without parents and tours for families with preschoolers. We develop our own unique programs not only taking into account the actual interests of children, but also focusing on the achievements of modern pedagogy: children spend 2-3 days or 2-3 weeks in the camp, this time should not pass uselessly. That is our philosophy. Summer camp for a child at 7-9years is a time of rest from school, an opportunity to explore the world actively, so it is important to fill free time with fun, vivid memories, but also to develop in different directions with the help of quests, personal experience, unusual situations. We even design programs for family vacations so that, with the help of parents, the child learns useful skills through collective games. But we do not forget about the much-needed rest for children. The recreation center where we implement our programs is located in a picturesque forest area, on the territory there is a swimming pool, sports equipment and playgrounds, a cinema, cozy gazebos and other fun opportunities, including laser tag and a stable where you can communicate with animals or take a riding lesson.
A camp in the Moscow region is an excellent occasion to spend time cheerfully and with benefit for children both at 5 and at 8 years old. Call us to find out more!

Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works
Apache2 Debian Default Page
This is the default welcome page used to test the correct
operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Debian systems.
If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at
this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at
/var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.
If you are a normal user of this web site and don’t know what this page is
about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to
maintenance.
If the problem persists, please contact the site’s administrator.
Debian’s Apache2 default configuration is different from the
upstream default configuration, and split into several files optimized for
interaction with Debian tools. The configuration system is fully documented in
/usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian.gz. Refer to this for the full
documentation. Documentation for the web server itself can be
found by accessing the manual if the apache2-doc
package was installed on this server.
The configuration layout for an Apache2 web server installation on Debian systems is as follows:
apache2.conf is the main configuration
file. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining configuration
files when starting up the web server.
ports.conf is always included from the
main configuration file. It is used to determine the listening ports for
incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
Configuration files in the mods-enabled/,
conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/ directories contain
particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration
fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively.
They are activated by symlinking available
configuration files from their respective
*-available/ counterparts. These should be managed
by using our helpers
a2enmod,
a2dismod,
a2ensite,
a2dissite,
and
a2enconf,
a2disconf
. See their respective man pages for detailed information.
The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of
environment variables, in the default configuration, apache2 needs to be
started/stopped with /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl. Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not work with the
default configuration.
By default, Debian does not allow access through the web browser to any file apart of those located in /var/www,
public_html
directories (when enabled) and /usr/share (for web
applications). If your site is using a web document root
located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your
document root directory in /etc/apache2/apache2. conf.
The default Debian document root is /var/www/html. You
can make your own virtual hosts under /var/www. This is different
to previous releases which provides better security out of the box.
Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs in the
Apache2 package with Debian. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.
Please report bugs specific to modules (such as PHP and others)
to respective packages, not to the web server itself.
