We are so glad you found us! Truro Preschool and Kindergarten is an engaging place for children to grow and learn. We are a Christian developmental, play-based preschool. Our approach is to teach to the whole child, using a variety of materials, with a well-rounded curriculum of teacher-led and child-led experiences.

Our goal is to help children to become confident learners and problem-solvers with solid academic and social skills, knowing they are loved by God and designed to experience a relationship with him.

And with a child with a food allergy, that is a great gift. We’ve been so thankful and grateful to be a part of this community for the past three years.

Truro Preschool has provided a wonderful foundation of learning for my son. His daily experience involves sweet lessons of life through creatively intentional play and instruction. Every fruit of the Spirit is on display throughout the staff at Truro. My son goes to school with sweet confidence and assurance knowing he is safe and loved as he daily flexes new muscles of growing and learning. Truro Preschool is a remarkably special place!

TPK has been a huge blessing for our family, and we have been so lucky to have our two girls, ages 3 and 5, at this wonderful school. The teachers and office leadership are incredibly focused on the well-being, safety, and development of their students, and our children are thriving in this environment. As a physician, I was very pleased with all the safety measures in place in the 2020 school year, as well as the drive and determination to continue in-person school, despite the related challenges.

I would recommend TPK to any family looking for a nurturing, loving, and supportive environment for their children.

We have loved the warm and safe environment at TPK, full of play and hands-on learning. Even the playground has creative play, like tree stump balance beams and a wooden kitchen, in addition to a full playground. Our kids have been fully prepared for Kindergarten, both academically and socially, and we especially love that the good news of Jesus is taught throughout and overflows in the teachers and administration.

TPK is unique in the balanced value it places on encouraging our children’s social-emotional, academic, and spiritual growth within a loving and fun community. As working parents, we especially appreciate the support we receive from teachers and leadership through the before and after school care program!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ”- Jeremiah 29:11

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Fairfax KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks-1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1-2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2-3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3-4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4-5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5-12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3-12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2-4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2-4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • We first met Miss Seble when I dropped my 8-week old daughter at Kindercare over three years ago. From the moment I reluctantly passed my baby to her, I knew she was in good hands. Seble has a warmth and kindness that fills a room. When you leave your children with her, they become her children. She protects them, make sure they are attended to and that they feel loved every day.

Under Miss Seble’s care, my youngest daughter met her developmental milestones early and has become a well-adjusted social butterfly. My oldest moved to Kindercare when she was 4, and had a hard time adjusting at first. Even though my daughter wasn’t directly under her care, Miss Seble went out of her way to make sure my shy, insecure girl knew she had someone there to give her hugs and words of encouragement when she wasn’t feeling confident.

The kids love her as much as she loves them. My girls run to her every morning to get a big hug and say “I love you Miss Seble!” Even on the days when my baby girl is grumpy, Miss Seble always comes out to cheer her up and get her excited for the day.

It’s not just my kids who adore her. She has a line of kids of all ages lined up at her classroom door every morning for hugs and maybe a little treat. Nothing makes a parent happier than to know that someone loves your kids as much as you do (perhaps, even more some days!).

We are grateful and blessed to know her, and we consider her family.

    Nicole W. – KinderCare Parent
  • Ms. Seble has cared for both our daughters at KinderCare Fairfax, Annelise (7 1/2 years old) and Celeste (4years old) who is still enrolled at KinderCare.  She takes a deep interest in both your family and your child.

Her relationship with our kids has continued as they have grown up through KinderCare.   I’ve seen this same connection with other kids as they visit her infant room in the mornings to say hello.  I don’t think a parent can ask for more than someone who truly cares for your child and family.

    Rudy W. – KinderCare Parent
  • My girls love going here!! The teachers are very engaged with the kids. Mrs. Seble & Salma have helped me a lot with my youngest daughter and her feedings. The staff is always helpful and friendly, thank you for all that you guys do!

Frequently Asked Questions

What accreditations does KinderCare have?

We are your trusted caregiver. Our centers are state-licensed and regularly inspected to make sure everything meets or exceeds standards, including child-to-teacher ratios and safe facilities. Our centers aren’t just licensed—most are accredited, too! Find out more.

Do you offer part-time schedules at Fairfax KinderCare?

Everybody’s schedule is different. We’re happy to offer quality, affordable part-time and full-time childcare. Drop-in care may also be available. Reach out to your Center Director to learn more.

How does naptime work at Fairfax KinderCare?

Our teachers meet every child’s needs during naptime. Our teachers know how to get babies to nap. In fact, they are pros at getting children of any age to nap. Visit our article on “10 Ways We Help Kids Get a Great Daycare Nap” to learn more.

Do you support alternative diets?

We strive to be as inclusive as possible. To that point, we provide a vegetarian option at mealtime, take care to not serve common allergens and can adapt menus based on your child’s food sensitivities. If your child has additional needs, we’ll work with you to figure out a plan.

Are meals included in tuition? Can I choose to send my child with lunch?

We provide nutritious meals and snacks developed by a registered dietician to meet the needs of rapidly growing bodies and minds. If your child has special dietary requirements and you would prefer to bring in their lunch, please make arrangements with the center director.

Does my child need to be potty-trained?

Every child begins toilet learning at a different age. Until your child shows an interest in toilet learning, we’ll provide diaper changes on an as-needed basis. When your child shows an interest, we’ll discuss how to work together to encourage toilet learning.

My view of the world

The Little Prince

Description

“The Little Prince” is an allegorical story, the most famous work of Antoine de Saint-Exupery.
The drawings in the book are made by the author himself and are no less famous than the book itself. It is important that these are not illustrations, but an organic part of the work as a whole: the author himself and the heroes of the tale all the time refer to the drawings and even argue about them. The unique illustrations in The Little Prince break down language barriers and become part of a universal visual lexicon understandable to everyone.

“After all, all adults were children at first, only few of them remember this” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery, from the dedication to the book.

Three comrades

Description

Three friends – Robbie, a desperate racing driver Kester and “the last romantic” Lenz went through the First World War. After returning to civilian life, they founded a small car repair shop. And although the ghosts of the past haunt them, they do not lose heart – after all, what could be better than friendship, strong and faithful, for which you can give the last? Probably only love that knows no boundaries and limits. Beautiful and sad Pat, Robbie’s tender lover, dispels the darkness of the meaninglessness of his existence. However, the newfound happiness is threatened by the echoes of the same war – existing not only in the memory and consciousness of the heroes, but in a harsh way embodied in reality … This story once and for all won the hearts of millions of readers around the world. Generations have grown up on this book, it has long been torn apart into quotes, it has been repeatedly filmed and continues to be staged. It makes you want to read it over and over again.

Jane Eyre

Charlotte Bronte

Description

Gothic manor, love, attempted murder, the crazy wife of the protagonist, locked in the attic – in Charlotte Bronte’s most famous novel JANE AIR.
Victorian England. After eight years in a boarding school for poor girls, the orphan Jane Eyre gets a job as a governess in Thornfield – the fiefdom of Edward Fairfax Rochester. The owner of the estate rarely visits his native land, and in his absence, Jane must look after the eight-year-old Adele Varance, the pupil of an aristocrat. And then one day Rochester returns. Thus begins one of the most famous romantic stories in European literature…
