Salt Lake therapeutic mud near Stavropol
Where is Salt Lake and how to get there.
Few people know that not far from Stavropol, in the Aleksandrovsky district, there is a unique Salt Lake.
Road from Stavropol.
Finding it is quite easy, the navigator shows the way. The road is excellent, beautiful at any time of the year.
Highway towards Aleksanrovsky.
On the highway from Stavropol you need to get to the village of Severny. You can turn off the road through the fields, there is also a road there, but there are no landmarks, you can make a wrong turn. So it is more convenient to focus on the village.
At the first traffic light after entering the village, turn left.
Further the road leads through the village.
Road through the village.
We drive all the time along the main road. Asphalt here, to put it mildly, is not very good. But the car will pass carefully.
The village ends and further along the fields there is a rolled, fairly even clay road. In dry weather, even a low car will easily pass, but in the rain it is better not to drive here.
From the mountain you can see Severnoye and the road across the field.
The road through the fields is about eight kilometers.
The salt lake can be seen from afar. We are approaching closer.
The lake can be seen from afar. Large round pond in the middle of the field. Due to the concentration of salt, there is little vegetation around it. The shore is covered with salt and white foam from the water.
Salt lake. Shore. The entire shore is covered with salt
You can drive up to the water along the entire shore. But they stop mainly on one side, where the passage is smoother and the lake is a little deeper. So stay close to vacationers.
There are no amenities on the beach. Fortunately, civilization has not reached these places. So you will have to change clothes in the car, covering each other. And bring fresh water with you. The bigger, the better. There are no fresh water sources nearby.
The lake is shallow, in the deepest places – just above the knees. The water is yellow-brown in color with a characteristic odor. Warm in summer, like fresh milk. Everyone is surprised that it is impossible to drown in it. The water throws you up like a cork. Interesting sensations, you can just sit or lie on the water without any effort.
Care must be taken when splashing in the water so that splashes do not get into the eyes. Feelings are far from pleasant.
Therapeutic mud of the lake. Healing properties.
But the most valuable is at the bottom of the lake. Not near the shore, but a few meters from it. The bottom becomes soft, the legs sink into the dark mass.
This is black therapeutic mud, for which people come here even from other cities, spend the night in tents for several days. Rich in minerals, it helps with diseases of the joints and skin.
Spread the mud and wait about half an hour. Many collect it with them in packages and banks, they take it home.
What to bring to the lake
Please note that the dirt is very difficult to wash and launder. Therefore, we put on old unnecessary swimsuits and swimming trunks. Salt leaves white marks and streaks everywhere. In general, you do not need to dress up.
Rubber slippers. It is not comfortable to walk barefoot everywhere, dry prickly grass and small stones hurt your feet.
Lots of fresh water. How much can you bring. It is convenient if there are large flasks. If not, you can collect five-liter plastic bottles.
A lot of salt constantly makes me want to drink. Wash hands and face with fresh water after each bath.
Wash off dirt in salt water. And then wash yourself with fresh water, which you brought with you. Try not to touch things, cars, phones, etc. with salty hands. There are white prints everywhere.
We try to visit the lake several times during the summer. In addition to the health benefits, every time we get great pleasure from bathing.

Irina Nikitina (Tyumen region)
If foreign routes are again in question this summer, “RG” decided to look for new ones ” trails” in Russia, moreover, in its hinterland. Of course, thousands of kilometers from the capitals in the rural wilderness, you are unlikely to find an all-inclusive resort, but you will definitely be delighted with the local nature and its gifts.
Irina Nikitina
There are about 40 thousand lakes in the Tyumen region. Salt Lake can be called a miracle. Those who have traveled around the world say that it is comparable to the Dead Sea of Israel and the Matsesta resort in Sochi.
According to official papers, Salt has been a monument of regional significance since 2011. For Okunev people, local residents, this is a brand from time immemorial. During the war, the lake helped to survive: the villagers evaporated salt for sale and for the front. And in peacetime, it improves health thanks to the healing water, mud and air. How vigorously it smells of hydrogen sulfide!
The pond itself is not deep, even in the middle it will hardly reach two meters. The water is so salty that there are no fish, reeds do not grow, but there is an abundance of pink brine shrimp. By the way, the properties of water were recently confirmed by employees of the Yekaterinburg Medical Research Center for Prevention and Health Protection of Industrial Workers.
Mud (this is processed organic matter of the same brine shrimp) and blue clay are considered especially valuable. They are saturated with salt and help with joint diseases, psoriasis, skin and gynecological diseases. In a word, a real balneological resort in the wilderness, arranged by Mother Nature. The most interesting thing is that 70 meters from Salty there is a fresh lake in which bathers can rinse before going home.
And now for the costs. Most obvious: they are minimal. You will only have to shell out for the road, and holidays on the Salt are free, because the lake, although it is protected by the state, is open to absolutely everyone. There are no fences and guards. Someone comes by bus, rents a house in Okunevo, goes to the procedures on foot. But most tourists prefer to get here by car and camp right on the beach.
The head of the Okunevskaya village administration, Sergei Kurkov, says that on the hottest days before the pandemic, up to 700 vacationers came to the banks of the Salt. There were guests from Kazakhstan and central Russia. Well, the people of Tyumen, residents of the northern districts, Kurgan, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk have long dashed the track.
The village council keeps order: toilets and garbage cans are installed around the perimeter. In the summer, an inspection comes once a week; in the fall, ecologists from Tyumen are invited to inspect the territory.
Airline Pilot Salary – How Much Will I Earn as a Pilot?
Epic Flight Academy students put in a lot of effort to become airline pilots. They make connections while at flight school that will stay with them throughout their careers. But the real question is… how much will they earn?
How Much Is An Airline Pilot’s Salary?
People choose an airline pilot career for a variety of reasons, first and foremost being their love of flying, and, besides, who wouldn’t enjoy the adventure of seeing the world? However, with the growing demand for commercial airline pilots worldwide, airline pilots’ salaries are an excellent reason to consider an aviation career. Have you have been thinking about becoming a pilot, but you’re concerned with how much pilots are paid? For the relatively small investment you make in flight training, the financial rewards of a pilot’s paycheck are more than sufficient. With an annual income in 2022 ranging from $56,000 to $700,000+ in the U. S., it is important to understand how pilot salaries are calculated.
How much do pilots make?
Like other professions, pilot salary is not equal across the board. Pilot salaries vary annually among airlines, the type of aircraft, and even flying routes. For example, salary depends on various factors, such as pilot credentials, experience, job title, and pilot union agreements. Also, most people don’t realize that pilots are paid by the hour and not an annual salary. GlassDoor, a website where people self-report their earnings, shows that average domestic airline pilot salaries are respectable. However, salaries varies among airlines.
For instance, Southwest Airlines pilots earn an average annual salary of $222,000. However, some Southwest pilots earn as much as $549,000. Similarly, United Airlines pilots earn an average of $205,000. The average Delta Airlines pilot earns $192,000 with top-earners making $526,000. American Airlines pilots earn an average salary of $118,000, with some pilots earning in excess of $700,000. Most importantly, pilot salaries continue to increase. Even international airlines pay well. For instance, Qatar pilots average $173-187,000 annually. Additionally, China Southern Airlines starts its pilots at $228,000 per year. The average Lufthansa pilot earns $102,000 annually.
A short answer is the average airline pilot salary for 2022 was $225,740, but keep reading to learn how to earn at the very top!
The average (mean) salary in 2022 was $225,740, and the median salary was $211,790. The average is up from $198,190 in 2021.
What are some sample salaries for airline pilots?
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the median U.S. pilot salary at $211,790 in 2022. This means 50% of pilots earn more than this, and 50% earn less. However, there are pilots working for major airlines making more than $700,000 per year. With so many factors impacting airline pilot salaries, it’s important to look at multiple perspectives and examples to have a real understanding of how much pilots earn. In other words, you want to know how much you can expect to earn. How much do pilots make is a simple question with a multi-faceted answer. Salaries vary whether you’re with a legacy or regional airline. Other factors include experience and equipment. We have shared examples of Captain and First Officer salaries for several major airlines. These salaries are based on flying 1,000 hours per year.
Salary Examples for Captains at Major Airlines:
Salary Examples for First Officers at Major Airlines:
How is a pilot’s salary calculated?
First of all, remember that airline pilots are paid by the hour for actual hours flown. Federal law requires that airline pilots are to fly no more than 1,000 hours per year. This is to ensure they are well rested and ready to fly each time they enter the cockpit. Compare this to an average job where workers are expected to work 40 hours per week. Taking two weeks off for vacation, the average person works 2,000 hours per year – double that of a commercial pilot.
A pilot’s hourly rate increases for each year he or she has worked for an airline. The range in hourly rate also changes by airline and by type of aircraft. For example, an experienced Captain flying an A350 for Delta can expect to earn $354 per hour. Delta pays a junior First Officer $92 per hour. Flying a B777 for United Airlines, a senior Captain earns $352, and the junior First Officer $91. All factors matter, such as whether you fly a Boeing 747 or a Bombardier CRJ200. Experience also counts, such as whether you’ve been flying professionally for one year or ten. It also matters which airline you have chosen to fly for. All of this plays a part in how your pay is calculated.
Why does pay range matter?
Remember that these ranges in pay are on a continuum from lowest to highest pay. This changes incrementally depending on your pilot experience with the airline. This applies to cargo airlines as well as passenger planes. FedEx Express pays a junior First Officer $84 per hour, and senior Captains earn $335. The range at UPS is even greater, with junior First Officers starting at $52 per hour and senior Captains earning $341. These are wide ranges among a few examples of freight carriers showing actual salary calculations.
What are some sample salaries for regional airlines?
Regional airlines typically start at around $40-50 per hour for a new First Officer. They determine your starting pay based on various factors, such as your flight experience and type ratings. Piedmont Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines, is one example. In 2019, this U.S. regional airline announced First Officer starting pay of $50-55 per hour and Captains at $76-96 per hour. However, pilot salaries have experienced rapid growth in the past few years, with Piedmont starting pay for FOs at $90 and Captains now at $146. Additionally, regional airlines tend to contribute 3-5% for your 401k, reaching 10% after you’ve been with them a while. Most regional airlines do not want to be a stepping-stone on your way to the major airlines. This is why their pay has become more competitive and generous. Pictured below are samples of regional pilot annual salaries.

How do international pilot salaries compare to U.S. airline pilot salaries?
The airline pilot shortage is not just a U.S. problem, and the shortage is predicted to worsen. Many international airlines offer premium pilot salaries to entice American pilots to work for them. For instance, Emirates Airlines pays an average salary of $192,000 plus an additional $50,000 annually for housing. This is on the high side. Also, most pilots have been with Emirates a long time. Most international airlines pay pilots similarly to U.S. airlines. Piloting the larger jets pays approximately $121,000, while flying smaller jets internationally pays around $104,000. This is why many international flight students attend flight schools in the U. S. Training in the U.S. is more available and affordable than in many other countries. An FAA-approved license and ratings will transfer to any country. To properly compare pay rates between airlines, it is always advisable to review their hiring requirements.
Are cargo pilots paid well?
Yes, the reported average salary for cargo pilots in March 2022 was approximately $95,112, with a range of $80,956 to $141,150. Indeed reported the average base salary for cargo pilots in May 2023 as $76,109. As with any position, experience, company, and equipment help determine salary.

What is a pilot’s starting pay?
In the U.S., most pilots’ first paid job is the position of certified flight instructor. They first earn a private pilot license, instrument rating, commercial pilot, and instructor training, and then they teach others to fly. This is mainly because of the 2013 FAA “1,500-hour rule. ” The rule requires all First Officers flying for commercial airlines to have accrued a minimum of 1,500 hours to qualify for their Air Transport Pilot (ATP) license. In order to log these required hours, pilots become instructors. This allows them to “build time” in their logbooks, hone their skills, teach new pilots, and get paid.
Most CFIs earn a modest $30-40 per hour, depending on the flight school. The critical component for U.S. pilots is that they can build their hours without having to rent the use of an airplane, which could be costly. Once they have earned their ATPL, pilots can expect to be hired as a junior First Officer with a regional airline at an hourly rate of $35-70, depending on the company.
Why does starting pay seem low compared to overall pilot salaries?
The reason pay starts on low side is because airlines are investing what will later become part of your salary into your training. This is why your pay isn’t great the first year. Although you have your CPL and have logged the minimum hours to fly commercial, you must be trained in the airline’s fleet. International airline pilots earn their ATP with different minimums depending on the country. For example, flight students from Colombia, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia know that when they train in the U.S. and return home to begin their flying careers, they only need to have logged 250 hours instead of 1,500. Most have logged these required hours before leaving the U.S. Therefore, most international flight students can begin their airline pilot careers without first becoming instructors. To fully understand the number of hours needed to fly in your country, check with the Civil Aviation Authority there.
Do pilots receive a minimum daily guarantee?
Yes, most airlines use the model of a minimum daily guarantee. Remember, pilots do not fly for 40 hours per week. Pilots are only allowed to fly 1,000 hours in a calendar year. Therefore, most airlines offer a monthly guaranteed minimum hours, usually around 75 to 80. Some offer minimum pay on a daily basis, typically around 4.1 hours. This guaranteed minimum ensures you’ll have a paycheck even when a flight is grounded.
Rather watch our 6-minute video on pilot salaries?
Do pilots ever receive signing bonuses?
Yes, regional airlines frequently offer signing bonuses. For example, in 2018, Envoy Air offered a $45,000 signing bonus, and Air Wisconsin offered $31,000. Envoy Air, Silver Airways, and GoJet Airlines offered signing bonuses ranging from $5,000 to $12,000. Trans States offered a $44,000 first officer signing bonus. In 2019, Piedmont Airlines announced an $18,000 bonus. By 2023, signing bonuses were breaking records. For example, Envoy Air, Piedmont Airlines, and PSA Airlines offered $100,000. Signing bonuses have become more common due to the pilot shortage, especially with regional airlines. Therefore, this is good news for pilots who have recently completed flight school and want to begin their aviation careers. In addition to signing bonuses, some airlines pay annual bonuses to employees. For instance, in 2019, Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air workers shared $120 million in bonuses due to outstanding performances in 2018.
Can I earn overtime and earn beyond my base salary?
Yes, pilots can earn 100-300% increases by working on their days off. The airline you work for often pays these rates just to make sure a scheduled flight happens. When a pilot is making $500-700,000 annually, they are typically picking up this overtime to make that happen.
Do I need a college degree to fly for the airlines?
Although most airlines do not require a college degree, many do assign value to having a degree. Many airlines use a point system to determine the best candidate and rate of pay. A college degree can give you an edge during the hiring process. Epic Flight Academy has partnered with Daytona State College where your flight training transfers as college credit (23 credit hours).
Does networking help in the hiring process?
Yes, we see this again and again. Your qualifications will ultimately carry you across the finish line to the pilot job you are seeking. However, we know of many instances where friends helped former classmates land new positions. We frequently hear from our graduates who share their new positions and other career information. They network through social media after graduating from flight school and continue to support each other once they launch their aviation careers. Your flight school is also a source for networking. Here at Epic, we frequently host events for our students to meet representatives from our partner airlines. Airline reps enjoy meeting students during their training and build relationships with them. All of this leads to strong connections that help our flight students on their career paths. Never underestimate the power of networking.
What kinds of benefits do airline pilots receive?
Airlines typically provide excellent employment benefits. These include health, life, dental, and vision insurance and a retirement plan. You also receive paid vacation time, sick days, holidays, and other personal time off benefits. Most airlines provide per diem to cover food expenses, etc. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits is the pilot’s schedule. Because a pilot can only fly 1,000 hours per year, you often have as much as two weeks off every month, resulting in greater leisure time than most occupations. Most airlines offer free airfare via jumpseats. Airlines typically extend this perk to family members as well based on seniority and other factors.
Pilots can also find themselves overnighting in some wonderful locations. As a result, they enjoy spontaneous sight-seeing and memory-making. Employees in any field of work often forget about the value of benefits. These benefits cost employers real money. When calculating your actual pay, always remember to include your total benefits package to understand the value of your compensation. In today’s gig economy where companies frequently contract people as freelancers who receive no benefits, pilots remain fortunate considering the many benefits paid by their employers.
How many years can an airline pilot work?
In the U.S., the FAA requires airline pilots to retire at the age of 65. However, they can still fly as private pilots for companies like NetJets, where Indeed reports the average pay at $207,771 per year. The mandatory retirement age in the U.S. is one of the main causes of the pilot shortage. Airline pilots must also maintain a healthy lifestyle to avoid losing their Class 1 Medical. ATPs must have a Class 1 Medical. Pilots should never smoke or use drugs. They must limit alcoholic intake, exercise regularly, and get plenty of rest. In other words, good pilots take all steps necessary to maintain a healthy lifestyle in order to avoid losing their Class 1 Medical.
Can I really get paid to do what I love?
Yes. Pilot job growth potential is above average for jobs and job security. Many people who become pilots do so for less tangible reasons than pay and perks. Pilots often profess to having a “calling” to fly. Perhaps there are pilots in their family tree or inspirational stories of military missions. Maybe the desire to fly is innate in humans, just stronger in some. We understand the deeper reasons people choose this career path, however many are certainly motivated by salary.
We provide pilot salary information to help you understand the nuanced ways airlines determine pilot salaries and factors that contribute to increases in salary. After all, you have to make a living, and isn’t it wonderful when you can get paid to do what you most love? Therefore, we provide examples of pilot salaries to give you an idea of the range. Whether fractional, charter, regional, law enforcement, or major airlines, starting pay is generous. And, the longer you fly, the more you earn. Following are examples of charter pilot salaries.

How does this calculator work? First of all, we averaged the ‘year 6’ captain salaries of the airlines we shared on this page. We entered those averages into the calculator so you can see an estimate. Now, how can you use this calculator? Simply enter data into any one of the fields, and the calculator will do the rest. For example, If you enter $65 per hour, the calculator will show what that will be each week, month, and year. Remember, this is a pilot salary calculator. Pilots fly 1,000 hours per year, so this calculator only calculates pilot salaries, not other occupations.
Are there trends in pilot wages?
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics compiles salary data on airline pilots, copilots, and flight engineers. For example, in 2023, the Bureau reported the median pilot salary in 2022 at $211,790. Compare this to the median salary for all workers in the U.S. in 2022, which was only $56,420. Trends clearly show pilot wages on the rise.
Median Annual Pilot Salary Trends in the United States:
2022: $211,790
2021: $202,180
2020: $186,870
2019: $174,870
2018: $140,340
2017: $137,330
2016: $127,820
Are pilot incomes expected to increase?
Yes, the upward trend in pilot salaries and bonuses shows no signs of abating. Southwest Airlines will increase pilots’ salary by nearly 30% in 2020 according to their new contract. An average Southwest pilot earned $230,626 in 2015, so their pay is certainly above average. Delta pilots voted for a similar deal, and in 2023 saw another 37% increase. With the ongoing pilot shortage and increase in air travel, airline pilots can expect a steady rise in wages.
Do pilots belong to labor unions?
Many pilots do join unions to advocate for their best interests, including wages and benefits. The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) is the largest union for pilots in the world and represents 63,000+ pilots from around the world. This includes the U.S. and Canada. ALPA is a member of the AFL-CIO and the Canadian Labour Congress. Airline Pilots Association is the labor union that represents pilots from American Airlines.
What steps can a pilot take to earn at the top?
First, be a good pilot.
Take your currency requirements seriously and focus on safety first. Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy a balanced diet, regular exercise, and sufficient sleep. Avoid tobacco and alcohol use, because good health is highly valued.
Second, be a good employee.
Be reliable, be a good colleague, maintain a positive attitude, and be flexible. Adhere to your corporate values, which likely emphasize customer satisfaction. Your work reputation follows you, therefore you need to make sure it’s a good one.
Third, research.
You may have reasons for wanting to work somewhere, so keep this in mind. Then, find out what different airlines are paying. Legacy airlines, such as Delta and United, are known for top pay. However, with various signing bonuses and benefits, you may be surprised at what other airlines offer. Check your network to see if anyone has pertinent information.
Fourth, negotiate.
Decide what you really want. Be willing to compromise. Although you may not be able to negotiate your salary, you can likely negotiate your benefits. Prioritize. Make sure you are asking for what you really want. A younger pilot may focus on salary, whereas a long-time pilot may want more personal time off.
Fifth, prepare.
Whether you’re going to your first job interview or your fifth, prepare yourself. Follow proven tips on how to get a job as a pilot. Prepare for your job interview. Most importantly, learn all you can about the company ahead of time.

At American Airlines, pilot pay — and airfares — are headed up with new deal
American Airlines pilots have a new agreement on the table that proposes about a 21% pay raise for this year on top of back-dated raises going back to 2020 and more increases in years to come.
On Friday, the Allied Pilots Association, which represents American’s more than 15,000 pilots, reached an agreement in principle with the Fort Worth carrier.
These pay raises could significantly impact consumers and their summer travel plans. The two biggest costs for a carrier are fuel and wages. Carriers with new pilot deals will need to figure out how to factor in billions in new expenses and still stay financially afloat.

American needs higher fares to stay profitable to absorb the impact of the increases across the industry, not just the pilot pay raises, said George Ferguson, senior aerospace, defense and airline analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence.
“There’s wage increases everywhere across the airlines right now, but the pilots are definitely getting the most,” Ferguson said.
The higher airfares, Ferguson said, have already kicked in.
“It’s already been planned for it in there as much as they can get, because it’s a very competitive market,” Ferguson said. Airlines “have an idea of how much they’ve got to increase fares in order to get back those higher costs.”
Airfare is higher this year for international travel, according to Hopper. Plane tickets to Europe and Asia this summer are the highest in more than five years. Trips to Europe average over $1,100 per ticket and trips to Asia average over $1,800 per ticket. Domestic airfare is averaging $306 per ticket.
Airlines are facing the same issues other sectors of the economy are facing with older skilled laborers leaving the workforce faster than expected, said Christopher Raite, sector analyst of industrials and materials at Third Bridge Group Limited.
“When you have the knowledge drain, it’s twofold,” Raite said. “Obviously you’re losing a great employee, but the gap then with the new employees, is even more apparent.”
Here’s the breakdown of the deal. The contract terms are dependent on an anticipated ratification date of Aug. 1.
The contract is effective for four years and will be amendable again on Aug. 1 2027. Pilots would be back paid, based on eligible earnings, 4% from 2020, 4% from 2021, 14% from 2022 and about 21% for 2023 in the three months preceding the date of signing.
American CEO Robert Isom said in March that American’s pilots would receive a 21% pay increase on average in the first year. At that point with base salary and 401(k) matches, captains operating narrow-body planes, typically used for short-haul domestic and international flights, would make $475,000 a year at the top of the scale, a $135,000 bump from what they earn today. Captains piloting wide-body planes, larger aircraft that typically fly long hours nonstop, would make $590,000 at the top of the scale, or $170,000 more than the current salary.
The pay rates, the union said, meet or exceed Delta Air Lines’ pay rates. Pilots at Delta approved a contract earlier this year, raising their pay by more than 30% over four years.
According to CNBC, Delta’s pilots received 18% raises on the date of signing, and will receive 5% raises in 2024, 4% in 2025 and 4% in 2026, varying on the aircraft type and years of experience. Delta’s contract runs through December 2026, and ground, scale and merit employees saw pay raises on April 1 this year.
American’s pilots would receive about a 21% increase for this year, 5% in 2024, 4% in 2025, 4% in 2026 and 3% in 2027, the year the contract would become amendable. The increases would occur on May 2 of each year.
In 2024, pilots would receive a 17% 401(k) contribution, and in 2026, the contribution would increase to 18%.
The new contract would also improve profit sharing to match Delta’s at 10% up to $2.5 billion pre-tax profit, and 20% for anything above.
There are also new terms for benefits, long-term disability and more.
The parties still need to wrap up contractual language for the agreement. Once completed, the negotiating committee will present the agreement in principle to the union’s board of directors for consideration. The board needs to review the proposed agreement at least seven days before any meeting to consider the tentative deal.
“It’s a major step in aligning everybody’s eyeballs, running the best airline possible and continuing to take care of our passengers,” Dennis Tajer, Allied Pilots Association spokesperson told on Friday. “And, just as importantly, going out there and beating the competition.”
The summer travel season will pick up this week and pilots could see increases towards the end of the summer.
“We’re pleased to have reached an agreement in principle on a new four-year contract with the Allied Pilots Association that provides our pilots with pay and profit sharing that match the top of the industry with improved quality-of-life provisions unique to American’s pilots,” American spokesperson Sarah Jantz said. “We have the best and most professional pilots in the business and like all American Airlines team members, they deserve to be paid well and competitively.”

How much do pilots in the USA earn?
One of the biggest challenges the aviation industry will face in the coming years is the lack of aircrew. As we have repeatedly reported on the pages of our website, this problem is especially acute in the United States, which is the world’s largest aviation market. Many pilots in this country are already near retirement age, and the industry has not had time to prepare new flight crews for the rapid growth of the airline fleet. But other countries are also facing shortages of pilots as the aviation market is global and many pilots from developing countries aspire to join the crews of the world’s major economies. The prestige of the pilot profession has grown significantly over the past decade, and many young people are wondering – how promising is it to invest huge amounts of money and for a long time in studying to work in the aviation industry, when and how much will it pay off?
The experts of our portal estimated the average salary of pilots in the USA. The list was compiled on the basis of anonymous data obtained from 784 former and current pilots who have worked in the past 36 months in various companies in the US aviation sector. The data was processed on October 22, 2019of the year.
The average annual salary for a pilot in the US is reported to be $76,530. However, it varies considerably from one employer to another. It should also be remembered that all wage figures are approximate and it is also not clear whether they include various allowances and whether they are gross or net amounts.

Describe your problem
The average annual salary for a commercial airline pilot is from $130,059,. Salaries range from a minimum of $,112,657 to a maximum of $,146,834 . The bottom 10 percent won $98,813 while the top 10 percent won $62,106 . Union agreements, airline type, aircraft size, and assigned routes are key drivers of pilot pay differentials.
If you are interested in aviation career , stay to learn more about aircraft pilot salary .
In addition to the pilot’s hourly wage, he often receives a stipend to pay during his training period, as well as a daily rate when he is away from home. This allowance covers food and other unexpected expenses that pilots may incur. And airlines often pay for lodging when a pilot has to spend the night away from home.
Years of experience
Once certified to fly large scheduled airline aircraft, a pilot’s salary increases over time. The forecast shows this trend:
1-2 years: 116,553-126,942 USD
3-4 years: 118,631-12 8,760 USD
5-6 years: $120,968-$130,560
7-9 years old: $124,345-133814
10-14 years old: 128 241-137 570 USD
15-19 years: 130 059-139 573 USD
20 years and over: 130 059-139 573 USD
Employment growth trend
Expected job growth for airline pilots is lower than the average for other industries. In the period from 2016 to 2026, only about 2,900 jobs will be created in this profession, i.e. the growth rate will be 3 percent. Many of these jobs will be the result of mandatory pilot retirement. Competition for jobs at regional airlines will be less intense than for jobs at major airlines.
Aircraft wages
Pilots’ wages depend on the type of aircraft they fly and how long they have been with the airline. The average annual salary for a large aircraft pilot is $121,408. The average annual salary for a small aircraft is $104,219.
Aircraft pilot earnings in the USA . Non-jet pilots earn significantly less. The pilot of a large non-jet aircraft receives an average annual salary of only 79106 dollars. The average annual salary for a small non-aircraft person is $85,418. Pilots undergo different training for each type of aircraft in which they are certified to fly, so it is worth considering these facts before starting training.
Job Description
The pilot’s tasks begin long before he enters the cockpit. Before a scheduled flight, it performs several important checks. Check the weather along the route, the condition of the aircraft, the total amount of fuel required for the trip, as well as the weight and distribution of passengers and cargo on the aircraft.
It also presents the flight plan before the aircraft leaves the landing area. During the flight, it monitors the aircraft’s instruments, radio communications, and uses the incoming data to evaluate and detect problems that could affect the flight. Supervises all maintenance personnel in the aircraft cabin and in the aircraft cabin. Finally, the pilot contacts the air traffic controller to receive and follow instructions for a safe landing on the assigned runway.
Education requirements
Airline pilots need a bachelor’s degree, but not in aviation. You must complete flight school or the military and obtain a private pilot’s license before you can obtain a commercial pilot’s license. Once you have flown 1,500 hours in a specific aircraft and under certain conditions, you can apply for a carrier pilot certification. In addition to preparing for college, you will spend several years preparing for the FAA exams to gain experience that earns you a commercial airline pilot salary.
Industry
In 2016, 88 percent of pilots worked for commercial airlines. The next largest employer was the federal government, which accounted for just 4 percent of pilots. Frequent travel and duty are the main causes of fatigue or burnout in the industry. Airline pilots only fly about 75 hours a month due to federal regulations. They could accumulate another 150 hours by performing their other duties. Federal law also requires certain rest periods for pilots and retirement at age 65.
How wages are growing
How much does a commercial pilot earn? . Each airline has its own payment program, but almost all of them have an increase in the offer standard every year. Through this ongoing increase, Commercial Airline Pilots and Airline Pilots can expect to earn an average annual salary of around $117,290 and up. . Pilots experience higher salary increase in their first five years . These promotions are usually higher for senior officers than for captains, and the largest pay increases often come after a year’s probation. Almost all first officers become captains after a few years of experience.
Traditional carriers, the largest and oldest carriers in the US, have some of the highest pay rates for pilots. For example, the first officer on a Boeing 757 at Delta Air Lines costs from $70 an hour in the first year, and the salary in the second year is much higher. In 10 years, the first Delta officer will be earning $151 an hour. With a minimum 65-hour warranty, a Boeing 757 first officer starts earning at least $55,000 a year and by year 10 will be earning over $120,000 a year, not counting travel expenses.
By comparison, a Delta captain on the same plane starts at $206 an hour in the first year and earns $222 an hour in the tenth year. This is approximately $160,000 in the first year and $173,000 in year 10, not including per diem.
At major airline Southwest Airlines, first officers start at an hourly rate of $57 for the first year. By the fifth year, that amount had more than doubled to $130 an hour. In year 10, the first officer’s hourly rate at Southwest is $148. In the first year, the captain of the Southwest earns 191 dollar per hour. By the fifth year, he is earning $200 an hour, and by the year, $10,212 an hour.
Regional airlines pay less and pilots fly smaller aircraft. Flying a regional airline is the most common way to gain the experience required by major airlines, making it a necessary step for most new pilots.
For example, on Island Air, the first officer earns $43 an hour in the first year and $58 an hour in the fifth year. Captains on the same airline earn $67 an hour in the first year and $9$7 an hour in the fifth year.
The good news is that with the current pilot shortage at full capacity, regional airlines are being forced to become more competitive when it comes to hiring pilots, with many offering paid training, travel expenses, login bonuses and engagement programs with your major partner airlines and the best benefits for pilots. Island Air is currently offering a $12,000 union bond, of which $5,000 covers relocation costs. Piedmont Airlines is offering a $15,000 membership bonus and, according to its website, a guaranteed job with American Airlines.
Promising pilots who continue this career have great potential for impressive salaries after less than ten years of service. Those who soar in the sky throughout their careers can earn a very comfortable salary after they retire.
Closing note
This post is not intended for those who want to become a pilot, but rather a general introduction to how the pilot salary works (on some airlines it is hourly and on others it is monthly) and on what it is based (years with the airline, position as captain or first officer, etc.

A teenager shot classmates in the name of Marilyn Manson
Disturbing news has been coming from American schools in the last two days. In Ohio, a 14-year-old teenager, having arranged a shooting at a school, injured four people and took his own life. An armory is found in the home of another teenager in Pennsylvania, with which he is believed to have also planned to arrange a massacre at his school.
The SuccessTech Academy public school in Cleveland, Ohio is considered to be a highly advanced educational institution. She specializes in in-depth study of business and advanced technologies. All of its graduates correspond to the level of college applicants. The school is funded by a grant from Microsoft CEO Bill Gates and his wife Melinda. And they enter it on a competitive basis.
On Wednesday at one fifteen in the afternoon, 14-year-old Asa Kun, a student at this school, walked through the door holding a revolver in each hand. He did it unhindered because the only school security guard was on time off. Asa was not supposed to come to school that day, because the day before the administration suspended him from classes for a fight with a classmate, during which he tried to prove to a friend that one should not worship God, but Marilyn Manson, the leader of the super extravagant rock band of the same name.
The disciplinary action embittered him even more and, as they now recall, he publicly declared: “Well, then I’ll arrange it for you!” Further – the familiar scenario – shooting at school. After injuring two teachers and two schoolmates, Asa Kun committed suicide before the police arrived. Revolvers of 22 and 38 calibers, a box of cartridges and three knives were found next to his corpse. Kuhn himself was wearing a Marilyn Manson T-shirt.
At school, Eisa-kun was considered an out-of-this-world guy and a bully. But on that day, no one could have imagined that he would shoot. “We already knew that he showed up on our floor,” says one of his classmates, Michael Brown. But in fact no one took him seriously. His arrival made everyone happy. Nobody thought anything would happen. Everyone was playing with their cell phones, giggling and chatting. But then shots rang out, and I threw myself under the table. Hiding my head behind my briefcase, I called my mother and said that I love her and that we have a shooting going on here.
“I was going up from the third floor to the fourth when a crowd of guys rushed towards me, shouting something like “Oh my God!”, 17-year-old Darnell Rogers, one of the injured Asa Kuhn, describes the experience. – Thinking that there was just a fight going on, I went to my personal locker in the hallway. But then I heard shots, and I decided to take cover in the classroom, but the next moment a bullet grazed my knee. At first, I didn’t even realize that I was wounded, because I was more worried about the fate of my sister and cousin, who were students at the same school.”
Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath told an emergency press conference that investigating the bloody drama at the school would take time: “We don’t know much yet. We know that the shooter had problems with school discipline, as well as disagreements with other students. Only a poll of these guys, which requires a certain amount of time, will help to establish the true motives of Asa Kun coming to school with weapons. But still, we tend to think that it was not random shooting. We believe that he deliberately shot at some. He entered a certain classroom and, bumping into a teacher, shot him. Then he went in search of another teacher. After some time, he fired several shots at the teacher who was helping the children to leave the floor.”
The Cleveland Police Chief pointed out the unfavorable background that preceded Wednesday’s incident. Last Friday there was a bomb alert at the school that turned out to be false. Over the past year, the police recorded 15 different incidents at this school, including bringing a pump-action shotgun into its territory. It also turned out that Asa Kun’s family often had family scandals. He himself was arrested by the police at the age of 12 for beating his own mother.
Professor of criminology at Northeastern University in Boston, Jack Levin, believes that it was the underestimation of the adolescent’s dysfunctional family environment by educators that played a fatal role in this case: “There are always missed alarm signals. They begin to understand their meaning only in hindsight. Every time after a shooting in our schools, everyone suddenly begins to see clearly and remembers that there were dangerous symptoms. But the problem is that today such symptoms apply to a huge number of teenagers. Many of the young people who opened fire hated their school or worshiped Marilyn Manson. They are in the unmanageable category. In my opinion, the best indicator that such teenagers will bring trouble is the facts of previous incidents accompanied by violence. Asa Kun was just in that category. Simply put, you should pay special attention to a difficult teenager because something oppresses him, and not because he brings trouble.
The day after the Cleveland massacre, Pennsylvania officials reported the arrest of a 14-year-old student at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School in suburban Philadelphia. It comes after the search of the teenager’s home, which turned up an arsenal of weapons, including a 9mm rifle with a laser sight, dozens of pump-action shotguns, semi-assembled hand grenades, as well as equipment and instructions for making them. In addition, the boy kept a homemade Nazi flag and a video of the mass shooting of his comrades by two schoolchildren at Columbine High School in Colorado at 1999 year. The teen’s name has not been released. Information about the arsenal came from a classmate of the arrested person.
After the Columbine High School massacre, school shootings in the United States continue to be a serious problem. The most bloody episode was the use of firearms on April 16 this year at VirginiaTech University, 450 kilometers south of the American capital. On that day, a mentally ill 23-year-old student, Cho Sen Hu, shot 27 of his comrades and five teachers.

Refreshed the memory of interesting things from the life of the artist and his band
American musician, artist and journalist, the eternal irritant of all kinds of “guardians of morality” and just a charming personality – all this is Marilyn Manson.
Manson’s real name is Brian Hugh Warner. He was born in 1969 in Canton, Ohio, the son of a furniture dealer and a nurse. Over the years, his mother, Barbara, still calls her son Brian, but his father, Hugh, calls the offspring Manson.
Brian’s pseudonym is a combination of the name of a beautiful actress (Marilyn Monroe) and the name of mass murderer Charles Manson. In the future, the musician’s colleagues in the band will create stage names for themselves according to the same principle. The artist himself explained this by the desire to maintain balance, the status quo – he took part of the pseudonym from Marilyn, whom the world adored, and took the other part from Charles, whom the world hated.
Before forming a band with guitarist Scott Mitchell Putesky (who took the pseudonym “Daisy Berkowitz”), Warner worked as a music journalist in Tampa Bay, Florida.
Since 1998 lives in Hollywood.
Warner and Putesky’s original band was called Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids.
Nine Inch Nails leader Trent Reznor developed an interest in Manson and his band in the early 1990s. Trent offered the guys a contract with Nothing Records, and also allowed them to open NIN shows. All this contributed to a serious increase in the popularity of the Marilyn Manson team.
Reznor’s complacency was taken advantage of by the young group. The guys began to shock the public very quickly. So, the frontman was awarded the title of “Reverend” by the Church of Satanists, when during a show in Salt Lake City, Utah, he tore up a copy of the Book of Mormon right on stage.
A variety of religious and conservative groups and organizations took the musician seriously over time. After the Columbine massacre in April 1999, Warner-Manson came under heavy fire from them. Out of harm’s way, he canceled his Rock Is Dead tour.
Organizations leading protests against Manson and his group included The American Family Association and Empower America. Many cities around the country tried to ban Marilyn Manson concerts, but only sometimes the attempts were crowned with success.
Manson calls himself “mama’s boy”. He wears a T-shirt that says “Kill Your Parents” but claims it’s just sarcasm. In fact, his parents never bullied him and still support him in everything.
When Manson was a little boy, someone broke into the Warner family’s house and tried to suffocate the child with a pillow. The musician does not remember the criminal, but since then he can only fall asleep when the TV is on.
Parents sent Manson to a Christian school when he was 5 years old. There, the future infamous rocker and other children were trying to demonstrate music that they should not listen to and turn the youth away from it. In the case of Brian Warner, the effect was the opposite – he fell in love with “forbidden” tunes.
At Christian School, Manson started creating a magazine to make life and learning less boring. He called his brainchild “Stupid”.
Manson hates sports but lost his virginity at the age of 16 on a baseball field with a female cheerleader.

For more than 11 years, the team of our school and I have been working for the benefit of parents and their children. Classes with a children’s speech therapist help to speak their native language and preserve it in the future, put in missing sounds, and form high-quality speech. However, some require primary diagnostics – we have it free of charge and takes place online. You can also sign up for it through the messenger.
What are the benefits of a speech pathologist?
In addition to the therapeutic effect, classes with a children’s speech therapist increase the child’s self-confidence in the future, help him to better reveal his abilities, gain flexible thinking, and avoid a lot of learning difficulties.
How often should I visit a speech therapist?
To achieve real results – at least 2 times a week. Diagnostics will help you choose the most optimal schedule. Sign up for a free online lesson right now through a messenger convenient for you.
What should be a good speech therapist?
First of all, a good children’s speech therapist must have specialized education and experience. But no less important is whether he managed to find an approach to your child. Excessive emotional tension does not contribute to productive work in the classroom, as well as the absolute unwillingness of the baby to obey.
Is it possible to change the duration of a lesson with a speech therapist for children and how does this affect the price?
The average duration of a lesson is 30 minutes. Depending on the age and psychological needs of the child, it can be reduced to 15-20 minutes or increased to 45-60 minutes. At the same time, the cost of a lesson with a children’s speech therapist is also recalculated. If necessary, you can use the free rescheduling of the lesson, for example, if the child falls ill or plans suddenly change.
What you need to know about the profession of a speech therapist?
Before choosing a pediatric speech therapist for your child, we recommend that you pay attention to the following points:
What basic education did the specialist have? It should be speech therapy, pedagogical or psychological. Moreover, the second and third options should be supported by certificates of additional specialized courses.
What practical experience does a pediatric speech therapist have? Most teachers specialize in a narrow range of tasks.
Vash Speech Therapist School offers online classes with children’s speech therapists of various profiles. Contact us using a convenient messenger, and we will help you solve any of your questions

I stumbled upon the school’s website when I was looking for ways to keep my daughter’s Russian language after moving to the USA (she is now 3.5 years old). I decided to try it and was very pleased with the lessons with a children’s speech therapist and the general approach to working with bilingual children. I am writing a review when we are already halfway through the course, the result is good. Angelina stopped being nervous when she is addressed in Russian, she answers coherently, in a Russian-speaking company with children she also began to use Russian, before that there was only English. I think we will continue online classes at this school in the future. I would also like to note the work of Inna, our speech therapist teacher, a very positive person, her daughter fell in love with her from the first lesson.

I had problems with the pronunciation of the “r” sound since childhood, but then we moved to the USA and somehow it didn’t really bother me. But recently I was offered to teach in Russian. And it seems that the problem is small, no one pays attention to it, but I felt insecure because of it. I decided to try to work out with a speech therapist, and since I am an adult, why waste time on the road? I chose online lessons. Thanks to the help of the speech therapist of the Vash Speech Therapist Lyudmila school, literally in 7 lessons, the pronunciation of the sound “r” became clear, the burr completely disappeared. And I’m very happy with it, thank you very much for your help!

We came to this school on the recommendation of my friend, she had two children here and the result was excellent in both cases. We have gone through three lessons so far, not counting diagnostics. My son is 5 years old, was born already in the states, we speak Russian at home, but he does not want to be included in this process, right to the point of tantrums and stamping his feet, so that they speak English with him. I would like him to equally master both languages. So far, I really like the approach to the classes of our children’s speech therapist Anna. She explains the exercises very intelligibly, I don’t even have to prompt, the child is enthusiastic, actively working. Homework is also going well. I also liked the online format, it saves a lot of time. I definitely recommend both the school and this form of lessons.
The development of speech in babies is a very quivering moment. Some are able to speak easily and quickly. Others require specialist help and active adult involvement. A special case is multilinguals. If your city is Evansville, a children’s speech therapist for bilingual children is waiting for you at our online school.
Our specialists:
Gained great experience working with bilinguals.
Helps to achieve rapid progress in any starting situation.
They work with children from 2 years old and adults up to 99 years old.
Provide online services.
We will be happy to answer your questions in a convenient messenger.
Every parent strives to do everything possible so that his treasure grows up happy and comprehensively developed. Work on the development of native speech begins with the choice of a multilingual teacher. We try to provide as much information about the services as possible. A free diagnostic lesson with a children’s speech therapist for multilinguals is the first step in communication with children and their parents.
Go to a convenient messenger to agree with the manager of the speech therapy school about the time and other details.
A trial lesson with a children’s speech therapist (Evansville) will be conducted by a certified diagnostician:
Based on his experience, he will perform an objective examination of the level of speech development.
After the lesson, a report is generated. It indicates the problems that need to be worked out, a plan for the development of native speech is prescribed. This is a ready-made guide for teachers of our center or third-party specialists. You will also be given a special set of exercises for self-fulfillment.
Despite the common name of the profession, teachers have a unique practical experience. In their professional activities, they face real problems of a different nature. After the consultation, the diagnostician will recommend which specialist is best suited for your case.
If you enjoyed your first lesson and would like to continue your studies, we will arrange a convenient schedule for you with the most suitable speech pathologist.
No need to travel to Evansville for classes with a children’s speech therapist
The school is online. Children’s speech therapist for bilinguals conducts classes in the ZOOM program. This format has a lot of advantages regardless of the student’s age:
Efficiency will be high. The specialist works with your child individually. He selects topics and materials taking into account the interests and, of course, the needs of the student.
The duration of a session with a speech therapist for children is set from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the age of the student. However, getting to a big city like Evansville takes much longer. The remote form allows you to use the time for more interesting or useful things.
Many little children get tired on a long journey and become capricious. This clearly reduces the effectiveness of classes with a speech therapist for children. Remote lessons eliminate this problem.
Babies feel comfortable and relaxed at home. They quickly get in touch with the teacher.
New technologies in themselves are an intriguing factor. Games on a computer or tablet cause great interest and involvement of the child in the learning process.
If you have unforeseen circumstances, the children’s speech therapist transfers the lessons free of charge.
Why Evansville multilinguals need a special speech therapist
First, let’s figure out who a multilingual child is. These are children who are surrounded by several languages and master them in parallel. This situation arises when moving to another country, when mom and dad are representatives of different nationalities.
Trying to simultaneously master two language systems, the baby experiences a huge load on the speech apparatus and nervous system. He either gets very confused, or chooses one of the languages as the main one, refusing to speak the other. If you are in the city of Evansville, our lessons with a speech therapist for children will help make up for the lack of communication in Russian. Without additional study, native speech is at a low level of development:
Many sounds remain unmastered, most often “p”, “l”, “g”, “sh”. When speaking, they are skipped or replaced by similar ones from another language.
The logic of formation of word forms, sentences is broken. The statements are hard to understand.
Vocabulary is distressingly scarce. To fill in the gaps, children try to drag foreign words.
As a result, the speaker is hardly understood even by people who are constantly in contact with him.
Such problems are beyond the competence of the ordinary specialist. A multilingual educator understands the causes of specific defects. Thanks to this, his help will be more effective.
For your child to achieve impressive results in mastering their native language, sign up for lessons with a children’s multilingual speech therapist. We offer the best prices and unique opportunities. We keep in touch in any messenger convenient for you.
Thanks to the online format, speech therapy services are also provided in neighboring cities. You can also consult a speech pathologist, speech pathologist, teacher of the deaf, neurokinesiologist. Save your children’s native speech and give them twice as many opportunities – sign up for online lessons with a speech therapist for children in Evansville!

These fun activities for preschoolers are expert-approved and perfect to try with kids at home, in the backyard and even on the go.
As children grow from toddlers into veteran preschoolers, their ability to engage in more advanced activities and play with others increases big time — and that makes for big fun!
While kids in this age group may not quite be ready for board games and Harry Potter, there are a number of activities for preschoolers that help with skill honing (fine, motor and social), while keeping things fun, engaging and — it needs to be said here — adorable.
Looking for fun activities for preschoolers? Here are 101 things to do with little ones, including suggestions provided by Dr. Amanda Gummer, an expert on child play and the founder of the Good Play Guide, and Dr. Scott Carroll, an academic child psychiatrist:
Create a bubble painting.
Craft a story together.
Dig in the dirt.
Bag leaves together.

“What to do in the summer with preschoolers” | Related article:
WHAT TO DO IN THE SUMMER WITH A PRESCHOOL CHILD.
Summer vacation is the best time to accumulate positive emotional resources for the whole year. Just like an adult, during a vacation, a child dreams of taking a break from classes, the regimen, the requirements of educators and teachers in the summer, to relax and become more independent. Therefore, parents need to make sure that this period is filled with joyful experiences and events.
Developing classes should be carried out only in the form of a game. The child must gain strength and get stronger physically in order to cope with school workloads. Therefore, let him spend more time outdoors in outdoor games. All of them develop coordination, speed of reactions, teach to form a strategy of behavior, especially games with rules.
For the development of fine motor skills, prepare pencils, crayons, coloring books, fun copybooks. You can draw with chalk on a special board, or asphalt. It is necessary to use all types of modeling: from plasticine, dough, clay. If you are in the country, together with your child you can make large castles, fortresses, entire cities with bridges and canals from clay, or play a pottery workshop. It is good to have a sandbox in the summer cottage.
For the development of cognitive interest, arrange thematic travel games on trips or near the dacha, house. For example: we study the plant world. We examine the plants in the garden and in the garden, compare, remember the names and types of vegetables, fruits, flowers, berries, etc. Draw or photograph plants. If you are in the country, follow the process of emergence of plants and fruits from seeds with your child, establish causal relationships from watering, feeding, temperature, etc. keep a diary of observations. Give your child a small garden where he can grow vegetables and flowers himself.
The journey may be by exploration of the surrounding area, with the creation of its plan, or along a predetermined route.
Treasure hunter game: you need to find a hidden surprise on special tracks and on the map, or as a hunter-tracker to find conditional prey by signs. The boys love paramilitary games, such as lightning, with the search and capture of the enemy base and overcoming obstacles. All such games develop attention, the ability to act according to a plan, quick wits.
Provide your child with a set of board games to play in the evening or on a rainy day, alone or with friends. These games can be bought at any toy store. Ordinary checkers and dominoes develop logical thinking well.
The following exercises can be used to train memory, attention and thinking:
Games for the development of thinking
Name it in one word!
Words are read to the child and asked to name them in one word. For example, a fox, a hare, a bear, a wolf are wild animals; lemon, apple, banana, plum – fruits. For older children, you can modify the game by giving a generalizing word and asking them to name specific items related to the generalizing word. Transport – …. Birds – …
Find the extra word!
Read a series of words to your child. Suggest to determine which word is “extra”.
An adult, throwing a ball to a child, names a color; a child, returning the ball, must quickly name an object of this color. You can name not only color, but also any quality (taste, shape) of an object.
Ask the child to name as many words as possible for a concept.
– name the words denoting trees; shrubs; flowers; vegetables; fruits.
– name the words related to sports.
– name the words for animals; pets; ground transport; air Transport.
Say the opposite!
Offer the child the game “I will say the word. and you also say, just the opposite, for example, big – small. You can use the following pairs of words: cheerful – sad, fast – slow, empty – full, smart – stupid. industrious – lazy, strong – weak, heavy – light, cowardly – brave, white – black, hard – soft, rough – smooth, etc.
It happens – it doesn’t happen!
Name a situation and throw a ball to the child. The child must catch the ball in the event that the named situation happens, and if not, then the ball must be hit. You can offer different situations: dad went to work; the train flies through the sky; the cat wants to eat; the postman brought a letter; salted apple; the house went for a walk; glass shoes, etc.
The speed of thinking!
Invite the child to play the following game: you will start the word, and he will finish it. “Guess what I want to say!” A total of 10 syllables are proposed: PO. ON, FOR. MI. MU, DO. CH, PRY, KU. ZO.”
If the child completes the task quickly and easily, ask him to come up with not just one word, but as many as he can. Fix not only the correctness of the answers, but also the time, which is an indicator of the speed of thought processes, ingenuity, and speech activity.
Item comparison!
The child must imagine what he will compare. Ask him questions: “Have you seen a fly? But a butterfly?” After such questions about each word, offer to compare them. Again ask questions: “Are a fly and a butterfly similar or not? How are they similar? And how are they different from each other?”
Children especially find it difficult to find similarities. A child of 6-7 years old should correctly make a comparison: highlight similarities and differences, moreover, according to essential features.
Word pairs for comparison: fly and butterfly; house and hut: table and chair; a book and a notebook; water and milk; ax and hammer; piano and violin; prank and fight; city and village.
Guess from the description!
An adult offers to guess what (what vegetable, animal, toy) he is talking about and gives a description of this object.
Example: This is a vegetable. It is red, round, juicy (Answer: tomato).
If the child finds it difficult to answer, pictures with various vegetables are laid out in front of him, and he finds the right one.
Who will be who?
The facilitator shows or names objects and phenomena, and the child must answer the question of how they will change, who they will be. Who (what) will be: an egg, a chicken, an acorn, a seed, a caterpillar, an egg, flour, a wooden board, iron, bricks, fabric, leather, day, student, sick, weak, summer, etc.
There may be more than one answer to the same question. It is necessary to encourage the child for several answers to the question.

Plato and Aristotle disagreed about the imagination. As the philosopher Stephen Asma and the actor Paul Giamatti pointed out in an essay in March, Plato gave the impression that imagination is a somewhat airy-fairy luxury good. It deals with illusions and make-believe and distracts us from reality and our capacity to coolly reason about it. Aristotle countered that imagination is one of the foundations of all knowledge.
One tragedy of our day is that our culture hasn’t fully realized how much Aristotle was correct. Our society isn’t good at cultivating the faculty that we may need the most.
What is imagination? Well, one way of looking at it is that every waking second your brain is bombarded with a buzzing, blooming confusion of colors, shapes and movements. Imagination is the capacity to make associations among all these bits of information and to synthesize them into patterns and concepts. When you walk, say, into a coffee shop you don’t see an array of surfaces, lights and angles. Your imagination instantly coalesces all that into an image: “coffee shop.”
Neuroscientists have come to appreciate how fantastically complicated and subjective this process of creating mental images really is. You may think perception is a simple “objective” process of taking in the world and cognition is a complicated process of thinking about it. But that’s wrong.
Perception — the fast process of selecting, putting together, interpreting and experiencing facts, thoughts and emotions — is the essential poetic act that makes you you.
For example, you don’t see the naked concept “coffee shop.” The image you create is coated with personal feelings, memories and evaluations. You see: “slightly upscale suburban coffee shop trying and failing to send off a hipster vibe. ” The imagination, Charles Darwin wrote, “unites former images and ideas, independently of the will, and thus creates brilliant and novel results.”
Furthermore, imagination can get richer over time. When you go to Thanksgiving dinner, your image of Uncle Frank contains the memories of past Thanksgivings, the arguments and the jokes, and the whole sum of your common experiences. The guy you once saw as an insufferable blowhard you now see — as your range of associations has widened and deepened — as a decent soul struggling with his wounds. “A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees,” William Blake observed.
Can you improve your imagination? Yes. By creating complex and varied lenses through which to see the world. The novelist Zadie Smith once wrote that when she was a girl she was constantly imagining what it would be like to grow up in the homes of her friends.
“I rarely entered a friend’s home without wondering what it might be like to never leave,” she wrote in The New York Review of Books. “That is, what it would be like to be Polish or Ghanaian or Irish or Bengali, to be richer or poorer, to say these prayers or hold those politics. I was an equal-opportunity voyeur. I wanted to know what it was like to be everybody. Above all, I wondered what it would be like to believe the sorts of things I didn’t believe.”
What an awesome way to prepare the imagination for the kind of society we all now live in.
Zora Neale Hurston grew up by a main road in Eatonville, Fla. As a young girl she’d walk up to carriages passing by and call out, “Don’t you want me to go a piece of the way with you?” She’d get invited into the carriage, have a conversation with strangers for a while and then walk back home.
These kinds of daring social adventures were balanced, in Hurston’s case, and in the case of many people with cultivated imaginations, with long periods of reading and solitude and inner adventures in storytelling. “I lived an exciting life unseen,” Hurston later recalled.
A person who feeds his or her imagination with a fuller repertoire of thoughts and experiences has the ability not only to see reality more richly but also — even more rare — to imagine the world through the imaginations of others. This is the skill we see in Shakespeare to such a miraculous degree — his ability to disappear into his characters and inhabit their points of view without ever pretending to explain them.
Different people have different kinds of imagination. Some people mainly focus on the parts of the world that can be quantified. This prosaic form of pattern recognition can be very practical. But it often doesn’t see the subjective way people coat the world with values and emotions and aspirations, which is exactly what we want to see if we want to glimpse how they experience their experience.
Blake and others aspired to the most enchanted form of imagination, which as Mark Vernon writes in Aeon, “bridges the subjective and objective, and perceives the interior vitality of the world as well as its interconnecting exteriors. ” This is van Gogh painting starry nights and Einstein imagining himself riding alongside a light beam.
Imagination helps you perceive reality, try on other realities, predict possible futures, experience other viewpoints. And yet how much do schools prioritize the cultivation of this essential ability?
What happens to a society that lets so much of its imaginative capacity lie fallow? Perhaps you wind up in a society in which people are strangers to one another and themselves.

The Importance of Imagination in Creating Change – Leading Differently
Image by Alexandr Ivanov from Pixabay
“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”
Albert Einstein
Humans will never fly. Television is just a fad. Who would ever need a computer in their home, much less carry one around wherever they go? Some people have trouble picturing a different future. Imagination allows you to see changes that others cannot. It can also help to forge a path to those changes.
So many of the topics that I have written about here illustrate the importance of imagination. Having an imagination is essential. Imagination helps turn ideas into actions. It is a key to problem solving. You have to be able to imagine a solution to a problem you are trying to solve.
The ability for any group of people in search of a better quality of life, to create a shared vision of what changes they will have to work toward, requires imagination. Maintaining the hope, or the expectation that your shared vision is possible requires that you be able to imagine a better world. When you ask someone to keep their “eyes on the prize,” you are reminding them to imagine that improved life.
One way to discover creative strategies and solutions is to seek out creative people. Who is creating art in your community? Who is managing to do great work with seemingly very few assets? The most imaginative people may not be in your usual circle of acquaintances. You may have to look at the margins. Find the people who are otherwise invisible. Find these imaginative people and listen to what they have to offer. As George Bernard Shaw put it, “Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will. ” (For more on creativity and leadership see, “Traditional Versus Creative Leadership.”)
If imagination is so important, why is it then that so many people say that they don’t really have much imagination? This isn’t a problem with children. Kids will frequently remind you of their capacity to imagine. They also often turn that imagination into creative works. Many adults, however, apparently lose their imagination mojo.
In the 1940s an advertising executive named Alex Osborn (He’s the guy who coined the term, ‘brainstorming’), recognized that this lack of adult imagination was a problem, so he came up with something he called, “creative problem solving.” The idea is that imagination can be cultivated and nurtured. You can read more about it here.
I have written previously that the world is not simply made up of two groups: your allies, and those opposed to your ideas. A great number of people are simply unaware that your issue is even a problem. The need to attract attention to the change that you are trying to create requires imagination. With all the ideas competing for our attention, imaginative, fresh messages stand a better chance of being heard.

the will and desire of man.
Productive

imagination man creates, intelligently
plans its activities and manages
her. Imagination takes a person
the limits of his momentary existence,
reminds him of the past, opens
future. With a rich imagination
a person can – “live” in different times,
that no one can afford
another living being in the world. Past
fixed in memory images,
arbitrarily resurrected by an effort of will,
the future is represented in dreams and fantasies.
Imagination
is the basis of visual-figurative

Imagination
can be of four main types:
Active

the fact that, using it, a person

An active imagination is a sign

Passive
imagination
is that his images
arise spontaneously, against the will and
man’s desires. passive imagination
may be unintentional and
deliberate. unintentional
passive imagination occurs when

disorganization of mental activity,
in a semidrowsy and sleepy state. At
deliberate passive imagination

imagination testifies to the deep
intrapersonal conflict.
Productive
imagination
– differs in that it contains reality
deliberately designed by man
and not just mechanically copied or
is being recreated. At the same time, in the image of this
reality is creatively transformed.
This kind of imagination underlies
artistic, literary, musical,
design and scientific activities.
Reproductive

There is an element of fantasy

when reading literature, when studying

Imagination and its role in human life
Such mental process as imagination plays a special role in human life. It contributes not only to creative activity, as many might think, but is also involved in solving more mundane and everyday issues, although the subject himself may not be aware of this. As the outstanding theorist of psychology L.M. Wecker, imagination is a cross-cutting process that is closely related to all other mental functions, such as memory, thinking and will. This point of view makes us understand that a developed imagination in general is a good helper in any life situation.
The world of imagination: imagination in psychology
Imagination in psychology is understood as a complex mental process that creates new images of objects, situations and phenomena based on past perceptions. Simply put, imagination is the creation of something new from something old. The idea of what a long-destroyed ancient temple looks like based on its description, or inventing a non-existent animal with horns and wings, uses already known elements in order for us to understand what something that currently does not really exist looks like.
Thinking and imagination
The specificity of the concept of imagination lies in the fact that it is difficult to separate it from the same visual-figurative thinking (operating with images, and not with verbal units – words, syllables, turns, calls, etc. – to solve a problem, without using objects from this problem in real life). For a long time there was an idea that the imagination is able to create thoughts, which in their essence are mentally formed connections between images and/or knowledge. But such an approach could not exist for a long time, because then thinking, as a mental process, would have no meaning. Scientists came to the conclusion that the main distinguishing feature of the imagination will be the creation of new, previously unperceived images. A.V. Brushlinsky, a Soviet and Russian psychologist, emphasizes the close relationship between thinking and imagination on the basis that the imagination operates with the products of thinking (communication, inference, analysis, synthesis and abstraction), and thinking itself is based on those sensory images that the imagination creates.
Types of imagination
Today, the following types of imagination are distinguished in psychology:
reproductive creates an image, the elements of which are already known to man. For example, when describing a middle-aged literary hero who has blue eyes and a mustache, we use several elements we already know (in this case, the face of a middle-aged man, blue eyes and a mustache). This also includes the reproduction of how the house will look, based on its drawing.
productive imagination, also called creative , involves the creation of images unlike anything the subject has ever perceived. Already known elements are also used here, but, unlike the reproductive type, creative imagination creates something that, in fact, does not exist in reality. For example, we have two elements – lilac and wild fox. Combining them, we create something that, in our opinion, does not exist in reality, namely, a lilac fox.
passive imagination is that imagination that operates without our volitional efforts. An example here is a dream or hallucinations.
active imagination, respectively, is necessarily accompanied by our intention to imagine or invent something.
concrete imagination is based on visual presentation of objects.
abstract the imagination operates with generalized images, namely, symbols (verbal and non-verbal), schemes and ideas.
plastic imagination, which L. S. Vygotsky, known for his cultural-historical concept, describes as something that borrows its elements from outside (can be called objective).
vague – one that operates with more emotional images (can be called subjective).
There is also a categorization of the imagination based on its scope. For example, the French psychologist and teacher of the late 19th century, Théodule Ribot, gives the following views:
mystical, which uses symbols,
scientific, which is more rational,
practical and mechanical, the images of which can turn into speech (verbal) form,
in the field of trade, often based on intuition,
in the field of y topia, where it is a mirror for social and ethical relations.
Mechanisms of imagination
At the moment, the following mechanisms of imagination are known in psychology, allowing it to perform its functions:
Hyperbolization – exaggeration of the qualitative or quantitative properties of an object (a huge problem, a billion mosquitoes, etc.).
Litota is an understatement, the reverse hyperbolization mechanism.
Sharpening or accentuation – emphasizing certain features (caricatures where a talker has a long tongue, and a liar has a nose can serve as an example).
Agglutination ( combination ) – combination of two elements (green cloud, elephant-sized dog, book with wings, etc.)
Schematization – ordering, generalization of elements into a clear structure (ornaments, paintings).
Typification – highlighting something in common for several images and assigning them to a separate group (doctors, representatives of the cat family, art books, etc.).
The meaning of imagination
The meaning of imagination is reflected in any life situation, and some of its functions are inherent only to people, which makes our stage of development of imagination in phylogenesis one of the distinguishing features of man as a species. Imagination has become an important property of the human psyche due to the following functions:
Regulation of emotional states of an individual. For example, imagination can play a compensatory role, helping a person avoid frustration – a state caused by a discrepancy between the desired and the possibilities to achieve it. A classic example of the study of this particular function of the imagination are the theories of psychoanalysis.
Regulation of physiological states of a person. Studies have shown that the process of imagination can cause activity in quite a few areas of the brain, including the hypothalamic-limbic system. Therefore, it is quite logical to conclude that this process affects our body. A striking example is that on every anniversary of Bartholomew’s Night, the famous philosopher Voltaire had a fever at the mere thought of the thousands of murdered Huguenots in 1572.
Problem solving based on image manipulation. When solving problems with a sufficient amount of known data, we use thinking, but when this data is too small, and we need to go beyond the usual problem-solving system, we use imagination. Thus, we can say that thinking creates theories, and imagination creates hypotheses.
Anticipation . In order to come up with a plan of action that we want to execute in the future, it is necessary to use imagination. After all, as mentioned earlier, to solve a problem with many unknowns, which is our future, we use not so much thinking as imagination. In order to be sure of your plan, you must first play it out in your head. We can say that our memory is a look into the past, thinking is into the present, and imagination is into the future.
Planning and programming activities . Having built and played a plan of action in our head, we also use our imagination to tune in to this activity. This process is a symbiosis of the functions of anticipation (prediction) and regulation. A.R. Luria, one of the founders of neuropsychology, described the situation that happened to Solomon Shershevsky, known for his phenomenal memory, when he was preparing to speak in court. He imagined the trial in his head, imagining that the judge was on the right. But when Shershevsky arrived at the court, the judge was sitting to his left, because of which all his logic disappeared, he was confused, and the case was lost.
In addition to its functions as a mental process, imagination also fulfills its role as the cause of a person’s individual characteristics. How and how much a person used his imagination affects the manifestation of creative activity, will, inclination and desire for a particular type of activity. As part of his socio-historical concept, Vygotsky devotes an entire book to the problem of the role of imagination in the formation of an individual’s personal characteristics – “Imagination and Creativity in Childhood”.
Fantasy and imagination
Some authors consider fantasy and imagination as synonymous concepts, but they should be separated. At its core, fantasy is a product of the imagination, the hallmark of which can be called its unfulfillment. It is designed to perform a compensatory function for the regulation of emotional states; can be active or passive, mostly seen as a reproductive process. While fantasizing, we are not directed to the realization of the content of our fantasies, which are intimate for us, but their source is in our unconscious. However, fantasies can push us into actions for which an already productive imagination will be used. Such a chain is the basis for many works of art and scientific discoveries.
Development of the imagination
As has already been shown, imagination is an important component of mental activity. Its development contributes to personal growth. Therefore, it is not surprising that many want to improve its performance. The eminent director Konstantin Stanislavsky, developing his acting system, paid attention to the ways of developing the imagination.
Expanding horizons and knowledge base . As follows from the definition of imagination, for its greater diversity, it is necessary to replenish your library of images and knowledge in order to be able to create more original and complex images of the imagination.
Ability to clearly represent an object . The more clearly we present the subject, the more detailed we can use its characteristics.
Purposeful imagination . Knowing how to control the flow of images created by the imagination, we thereby subordinate it to ourselves. So in a problem situation, we can use our imagination faster and easier.
Constant use of the imagination . Do not be lazy and do on the machine where you can use your creativity. The more often we use some mental function, the more attention we pay to it, the more developed and flexible it becomes.
Developing our imagination does not just make it easier for us to solve creative problems. Our imagination, closely interconnected with all mental processes, is an important component that helps to find a way out of any difficult situation.
