Big Ben Early Childhood Development Center is a separate area of the Big Ben Academy for the early development of babies from 1 to 3 years old, which has been developing since 2009.
Probably the first question that you would like to receive an answer to is “Why do we need early development of children and when exactly is it better to start it?”
The development of the baby should be started from birth . In fact, when parents talk to the baby, tell him nursery rhymes, sing songs, make massages, bathe him, walk with him, the child, like a sponge, absorbs new information and is enriched with new life experiences. For him, everything is new – the home environment, the voices of relatives, the sounds of nature, tactile sensations, tastes and smells. nine0003
When a child begins to try to walk from about a year old, the most important component of cognition comes into play – the opportunity to “try the world” . During this period, the baby’s need for obtaining and processing new knowledge and new experience increases many times over. The more quality information the baby receives during this period, the faster it develops.

Good teachers own modern methods of early development of babies, which give excellent results. And they also love children very much :-). Second, specially equipped rooms and a huge selection of teaching aids and materials, which is simply impossible (and impractical) to have at home. Thirdly, age grouping of children creates a learning environment in which children learn to develop and communicate.
Which development center should you choose? We have already discussed many of the characteristics of a good early childhood development center above. There are other very important parameters : location; scheduling convenience; price policy; compliance with hygiene standards; selection of groups according to the age of children. 9 are very important0935 a developed curriculum (and not improvisation from lesson to lesson), a limit on the number of kids in groups and a constant composition of groups , as this is the key to successful learning (therefore, there is no one-time attendance at classes in child development centers that respect their Clients , except for one or two trial ones at the very beginning). And AlphaGo famously proved that AI can master the ancient game of Go. But the debate, which requires creativity and emotional eloquence, proved too tough for the machine.
The IBM machine, officially known as Project Debater, started the match on Monday with a cheeky introduction: “I hear you hold the world record in debating by beating people, but I suspect you’ve never run into a machine. Welcome to the future.”
The event unfolded in front of hundreds of journalists, technology industry insiders and software engineers at the IBM Think conference in downtown San Francisco. Topic: Is it necessary to subsidize preschool institutions. While the audience voted Natarajan the winner, they also said that the IBM machine had enriched their knowledge to a greater extent.
Both contestants received the topic at the same time and had 15 minutes to condense their arguments into a four-minute speech, a four-minute rebuttal, and a two-minute summary. Standing at human height, Project Debater’s ominous black box was silent except for three spinning blue circles as it “mulled over” over 10 billion variations from news articles and scientific journals. Standing on stage, Natarajan scribbled notes on a piece of paper.
Although the AI lost, this event was a kind of climax for the progenitor of the project, Noam Slonim. Sitting in the front row on Monday night, one could see the IBM researcher openly enjoying the process. He knew they were outsiders in the debate: Natarajan holds the world record for most wins in a debate and has competed in three world championships, winning the European tournament in 2012.
“It’s like you’re sitting in the audience and your child is on stage, competing with a world-class pianist, and everyone is watching,” he said. Unlike chess or Jeopardy, discussion requires talking to people and convincing them of their own point of view.
Project Debater used research and policy quotes to argue that subsidizing preschools is not only a matter of finance, but also a moral and political duty to protect children. Natarajan countered that too often subsidies act as politically motivated gifts to the middle class.
The biggest advantage any person has over a project debater is the ability to deliver a speech with emotion, mastering intonation, tone and pauses to influence the audience. A week ago in London, Natarajan predicted that he would have the advantage: “I believe that at this stage it will still be easier for a man to construct logical arguments than for a machine. ”
Natarajan was watching AlphaGO, a documentary about the competition between the AI and the best player in the world, who was overconfident and lost four games to one. Harish realized “the pride with which people sometimes play against the machine.”
The Debater project brings us closer to realizing the dream of AI pioneer and British mathematician Alan Turing. In 1950 he raised the question of whether machines could think for themselves. Alan predicted that one day we would be talking to a computer and would not be able to tell a person from a machine.
Miss Debater still needs some work. In the long term, Slonim and his colleagues are exploring whether AI can help expand the human mind. For example, Project Debater could one day help lawyers study thousands of court cases to form closing arguments, or help children develop critical thinking skills.
“Think about it. We don’t often see a machine having a reasonable discussion with a human for 25 minutes,” Slonim said.

Philip Larkin: portrait of a poet
Alexander Genis: Thirty years have passed since the death of one of the most popular poets in the English-speaking world, Philip Larkin. After waiting for this date, Westminster Abbey finally decided to give him a place in their “Poet’s Corner”, despite the fact that the poet was a militant agnostic and author of rebellious poetry.
Today Vladimir Gandelsman will introduce that still little-known poet to Russian readers, based on the biography of Larkin written by James Booth. This book is called Life, Love and Destiny.
Volodya Let’s start, as always, with a brief background.
Vladimir Galdesman: Philip Arthur Larkin (English Philip Arthur Larkin, August 9, 1922, Coventry – December 2, 1985, Kingston upon Hull) – British poet, writer and jazz critic.
Studied at Oxford (1940-1943), where he became friends with the novelist Kingsley Amis. Then he worked all his life as a university librarian, first in Belfast, then at the University of Hull (East Yorkshire). In 1984, Larkin was offered the honorary title of Poet Laureate, which he declined. For his literary merits he was awarded the Order of the Knights of Glory and the Order of the British Empire. In 2003, the Society of Poetry Book named Larkin the most beloved post-war British poet by readers, in 2008 The Times newspaper named him the best British author of the post-war era.
Alexander Genis: Why is Larkin’s new biography remarkable?
Vladimir Galdesman: James Booth’s new biography of Philip Larkin isn’t all that exciting, but it fits the bill. If you agree that Larkin is one of the finest lines of English-language poetry, then it might be interesting to look at him both as a person and as a poet. Especially as a person.
The explanation for the fact that the biographical genre blooms and smells was given by Pushkin in a textbook letter to Vyazemsky: “The crowd eagerly reads confessions, notes, etc. , because in their meanness they rejoice at the humiliation of the high, the weaknesses of the mighty. At the discovery of any abomination, she is delighted. He is small like us, he is vile like us! You lie, scoundrels: he is both small and vile – not like you, otherwise.
Alexander Genis: I understand what you are talking about. Some kind of obscurity entered the image of Larkin after his death, when his executors published his letters, and his first biography.
Vladimir Galdesman: It was a long time ago, and it’s true. By the way, “executor” in English is the same as “executioner” – executer, and unfortunately for the perception of the image of Larkin in his biography, the facts of using racist and indecent-sexual rhetoric were revealed, and not only. It did not occur to his executors to place some preface before the biography, explaining that the poet allowed such statements only in private conversations and that he also considered his letters to be his private life. In public life, he knew perfectly well how to behave and what to say. For some reason they didn’t. They did not do what was so obviously expected of them, but they were by no means dullards who only waited with lust for the hour when it would be possible to publicly bite the dead poet on the heel and (in their understanding) humiliate him. A depressing number of English-speaking literary critics agreed that Larkin was not worth reading at all, and those who understood what rank he was a poet covered their mouths with tape.
Alexander Genis: Nevertheless, a huge number of readers on both sides of the Atlantic love Larkin’s poetry. Over the past 20 years, this view has become stronger. The question is, will Larkin’s new biography serve to strengthen Larkin’s reputation?
Vladimir Galdesman: Probably. Admirers of Larkin see the main advantage of Booth’s book in that it demonstrates that only the author’s text matters and nothing else.
Significantly, Booth was Larkin’s colleague for 17 years and served as a literary consultant to the Larkin Literary Society. Whether his opinion can be trusted is another question.
Alexander Genis: Well, what’s the matter? What is so controversial in this figure, let’s explain what kind of person and poet this same Larkin was?
Vladimir Galdesman: This same Larkin, unlike the chest, does not just open. He played the role of a misanthrope, professed total loneliness, joked in a peculiar and cynical way. He did not take the title of Poet Laureate, but it can be said that Larkin was the British Poet Laureate of Disappointment. His cynicism was tempered only by his skepticism, which only occasionally allowed itself the expression of any hope or possibility, as happens at the end of the poem “Trees”: “Last year is dead, they seem to say: / start again, again, again” . (Note that for Larkin, the emphasis on the word “seems” is the same as on the word “again”).
But Larkin was better known for his satirical verses. Characteristically, those who know something of English poetry, as well as those who do not know anything, will still recite to you the beginning of the poem “This Be The Verse”. The first line is “They fuck you up, your mum and dad…” The point is that your birth is a mistake and that you shouldn’t breed at all. I made a free translation, not obscene, so I can read it. Still, it is worth explaining the game that Larkin has in this rhyme. He says that you were made by your father and mother, but not only “made”, but also “deceived”. I used the verb “to inflate”, which also acquires a dual meaning. So:
Having given birth to you, father and mother
mouth to mouth with their breath
you were fooled, so to speak,
so that you add your own to them.
And they were fooled into their turn
by the degenerate forerunners, scurrying
back and forth with their household,
not understanding anything. …what.
Aggravating evil, the freak

Alexander Genis: Clever, but are these poems by a great poet?
Vladimir Galdesman: Poems. I don’t like that word, but it fits here. Poems. In the title it is expressed, in my opinion, – “This Be the Verse”. (“These are poems!”, maybe?) … I think Larkin would have found a common language with the Romanian-French philosopher Emil Cioran, who said: “I have no hatred for life, no desire for death, everything that I I would like to, is not to be born into the world.
Alexander Genis: Larkin’s popularity stems from this disillusioned, cold, sort of temperament. It’s always attractive. Let’s remember Pechorin.

Vladimir Galdesman: Undoubtedly. Larkin ended his opus Learning Reading Skills with the line: “Turn out the lights, books are bullshit. ” For all the vileness, there is in this irreverent wit and in this melancholy the determination to look at life point-blank. Readers believe him. And, of course, it is not limited to the above quotations. His poetry is psychologically accurate, and there is an ease in handling metrical forms rooted in the British poetic tradition. His gaze is elegiac, working to reduce, but at the same time, these verses are rich in precise nuances. Robert Pinsky, former American Poet Laureate, describes Larkin’s poetry as “a majestic sour rejection,” which is a good description. Perhaps this is best shown in verse 1958 “Weddings on Trinity”.
Alexander Genis: Do you have a translation?
Vladimir Galdesman: No, alas, there is no translation. With Larkin’s translations into Russian, the situation is bad, and you won’t understand anything from the interlinear. Nevertheless, I will say a few words about “Weddings”. Trinity, or Pentecost, is the seventh Sunday after Easter, late spring, at which time people often get married. In the 1950s, this provided some financial advantages related to taxes, and besides, there were many days off. Hence the theme of this poem.

the evaporated meaning of being. We rushed
past the back alleys, crossed the street,

The beginning, so characteristic of Larkin, is conversational, yet rhythmic, in a chaotic manner, instantly conveying the rush of the city fuss, discarded with the departure of the train. From the “river overflowing in breadth” the sky, the city and the water become one thing. The train itself, the central image of the poem, is a form of unfolding movement that connects different places and times.
Let’s move on.
All day, through the sleepy heat
for miles around,
we drove south, slowing down on the curves;
passing vast farms, cows and their short shadows,
canals with dirty factory foam;
a sudden greenhouse: a hedge, sagging
and rising, and an intermittent smell of grass
through the stink of wagon drapery –
and so on until the next nondescript town
with outlying car remains.
Larkin’s voice is so simple and natural that the reader hardly notices the complexity of the rhyme (which is not in my interlinear). Keats came up with this stanza for his summer odes, and Larkin’s allusion is no coincidence—it’s early summer, with its fragrant promise and pastoral sweetness. Just as Keats’ summer odes are full of death and decay, so Larkin has nothing without a particular bittersweet taste. Pastoral fantasy, with its farms and hedgerows, is complemented by a harsh reality: factory foam in the canals, the stench of wagon drapes. ..
This sharp realism goes a long way to substantiate a plausible and at the same time fantastic picture of the upcoming series of weddings – their hero will be watching from the train. A long poem in which the whole life unfolds.
Alexander Genis: I understand that retelling poetry is almost impossible. But maybe there are parallels in Russian poetry, something similar?
Vladimir Galdesman: Maybe. As for “Weddings”, I remembered Pasternak’s lines from the poem “Beloved is horror if the poet loves …” There the poet sees,
…. how weddings are celebrated around.
As they get drunk, they wake up.
How common is this frog caviar?
A poem where the vulgarity of life and the poetry of life coexist. It can also be seen that Pasternak is the translator of Keats’s ode “To Autumn”, from which the complex rhyme of Larkin’s “Weddings” is borrowed. Everything is connected.
Alexander Genis: Let’s go back to the biography written by James Booth. In professional life, Larkin was honesty itself. What did happen in your personal life?
Vladimir Galdesman: The same Choran said: “Create a family. Yes, for me, it’s easier to found an empire. Larkin was a confirmed bachelor. His “wife” was his mother, to whom he wrote letters, addressing her as a lover addresses a lady of the heart. “Oh, my Creation!”, something like that … He had several mistresses at the same time. I noticed that men who idolize mommy are often real womanizers. It is known that from a semi-bohemian environment, Monica Jones was ready for anything for him. The socialite Patsy Strang, who could not stand ephemeral relationships, was also ready for everything. She simply went crazy over him all her life and even at the end of the novel she wanted to resume it.
This does not make Larkin, of course, Eroll Flynn, the Hollywood conqueror of women’s hearts, but still destroys the reputation of some insensitive deck. Perhaps Larkin pretended to be a loser in love, and this was his strategy. If this is a strategy, then it is somewhat shameful.
As for racism, Booth writes that Larkin has wonderful poems dedicated to the famous African American saxophonist and composer Sidney Becket. He may have said something, Booth argues, but he couldn’t be a racist. He admits that Larkin hurt the women he was involved with by hiding them from each other and pretending he had nothing to do with them. And it was cruel. But this, oddly enough, gave rise to his serene lines that delight the reader. So says journalist Booth, Larkin’s generous protector. About Bout himself, they write that he is excessively generous.
Alexander Genis: Are there any responses from Russian poets to Larkin’s poetry?

In Russian poetry, Larkin, it seems to me, has not yet arrived. By the way, when he helped finance the publication of one of his first collections and agreed that the collection would be distributed by subscription, in private conversations he jokingly called subscribers suckers. Booth plays with these places in the book with gentle humor. Larkin made extensive use of the allusions, allusions, and irony of language inherent in literary circles. The obvious benefit of Booth’s book is that in our times the language of Philip Larkin is increasingly in need of translation, at least for the ingenuous public.

Our Story
Raven and Dennis Carter raised their family in the Oklahoma Panhandle. They have four children and 10 grandchildren. Raven’s passion in early childhood education began in 1987 when her oldest son was born. Having worked in Advertising and then for a CPA, she decided what she really wanted was to be more hands on with her own children. She began watching children in her home in 1992 and then in 1999 she opened her first center and continued her education. She was the Lead teacher of a 4-year-old class and the Director. She obtained her CDA in 2004 and then her Certificate of Mastery in Child Development in 2005. Through hard work and pure determination, her center was the first 2 start center in Texas County. The 13 years she had that center she expanded it twice seeing to the community’s needs.
Wanting to be closer to family, they moved to Yukon in 2010. Raven went to work for the Yukon school systems for 2 years but missed the enjoyment and excitement of working in childcare. After much deliberation, the opportunity presented itself in 2012 to build a new center where they would strive to provide high quality care for every child.
Over the next few years the improvements never stopped. In 2015 they were the first center in Yukon to add a storm room. They have updated their security system, went digital with iPads in every room for daily reports to the parents. They built a second building just for preschool and after school care. They offer more than a classroom with a book corner; they built an entire Library. They have 4 large outdoor play areas full or large motor toys and a snack shack general store ran by the after-school class. More recently, they have repainted classrooms, added new carpet and bought new classroom furniture.
In the 9 years the center has been open they have worked with over 400 families helping lay a strong foundation for their children’s educational future.

Attractions by region
North America
North America is one of the two continents of America, named in
honor of the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci, with a square
surface area 24,221,490 km² (9,351,969 sq mi). It’s in the north
hemisphere, between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, north of the South
America. The highest point in North America – Denali in Alaska, height
which reaches 6 194 m (20,320 ft) above sea level.
Europe
Europe covers an area of 10,180,000 km² (3,930,000
square miles), stretching from Asia to the Atlantic and from the Mediterranean
seas to the Arctic. European countries annually receive more than 480
million foreign visitors, which is more than half
global market, and 7 of the 10 most visited countries are
European countries.
It’s easy to see why: well-preserved
cultural heritage, open borders and efficient infrastructure
make visiting Europe easy and rarely do you have to travel
more than a few hours before you can dive into a new
culture and immerse yourself in another phrase book. Although it is the smallest
continent in the world in terms of land area, there are profound differences between
cultures and ways of life in his countries.
Asia
Asia is too vast and varied to be
regarded as a single digestible tourist “destination”.
It is difficult even to determine the boundaries of this continent – from the mountains around the Black
seas in the west to the snowfields of Siberia in the north, in Asia there are more people and
cities than outside.
The highest point in the world, mountain
Everest, located in Asia along the border of Tibet and Nepal at an altitude of 8848
m (29,028 feet) above sea level. Everest is mostly accessible
through Kathmandu. Its lowest point is the Dead Sea, located at
meeting points of Israel, the Palestinian territories and Jordan, the surface
which is located 400 meters (1312 feet) below sea level. The most
Asia’s longest river is the Yangtze, which flows through China for 6,300 km (3
915 miles) from the high Tibetan plateau to Shanghai. His biggest
lake – the Caspian Sea with an area of 386,400 km² (149,200 sq mi),
which is surrounded by several countries of Central Asia.
Africa
There are 55 sovereign countries in Africa – more than on any continent – and
it is the second largest continent both in terms of land area and
population. Africa is washed by the Mediterranean Sea in the north, the Atlantic
ocean to the west, the Red Sea to the northeast, and the Indian Ocean
in the southeast. Africa is a huge continent stretching over
than 8,000 km (5,000 miles) from north to south and 7,500 km (4,800 miles) from
east to west (not counting the islands), and includes many
peoples, skin colors, religions and cultures. Africa has the most
longest river in the world is the 6,650 km (4,100 mi) Nile River flowing from
Burundi to Egypt, and the Congo River in the DRC is the second largest river with
in terms of runoff, as well as the deepest one with a depth of more than 230 m ( 750
feet) in some places. Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is the tallest
free-standing mountain in the world with a height of 5 890 m (19,340 ft). Lake
Assal in Djibouti is the second lowest point on Earth, the saltiest
a lake outside of Antarctica and one of the hottest places on Earth.
South America
Situated between the Caribbean Sea, the South Pacific and
South Atlantic, South America is the wildest
from both the Americas and the continent in superlatives.
Most
the world’s largest rainforest and the largest river (Amazon), the most
high mountain range outside of Asia (Andes), outlying islands
(Galapagos, Easter Island and Fernando de Noronha), paradise
beaches (for example, in the northeastern region of Brazil), wide deserts.
(Atacama), ice landscapes (Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego), highest
waterfall in the world (979-meter Angel Falls in Venezuela) and one of
largest (Iguazu Falls, Argentina and Brazil), as well as several
other breathtaking natural attractions.
Oceania
Oceania is a vast, arbitrarily defined expanse of the world,
where the Pacific Ocean, not land borders, connects nations. Here
sparkling white beaches, coconut trees swaying in the wind, beautiful
coral reefs and rocky volcanic islands rising above
blue ocean. Its diverse countries have both some of the most
cosmopolitan and internationalized cities of the world, such as
Melbourne and some of the most remote and culturally isolated
villages.

Social Studies: Geography- Africa The first few lines of the book mention that George is from Africa.
Africa is a continent; it is the second largest of the seven continents on the earth. There are about 53 countries in Africa. The biggest country in Africa is Sudan. The countries with the largest populations are Nigeria, Egypt and Ethiopia. Africa is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the west, the Indian Ocean on the east, the Mediterranean Sea on the north, and the Red Sea on the northeast. Largest island off Africa is Madagascar (movie watching potential!)
The book explains that the man with the yellow hat takes George on a boat to go to America. On the map, point out the journey the boat would have to take to sail from Africa to America.
Social Studies: Traffic Consider a field trip to a pedestrian corner with a traffic light. Spend some time at the light. Cross using the pedestrian cross walk. Let your student tell you when it’s time to cross. Look both ways before crossing. Find a bench and sit and watch the people and the cars. Make a game of anticipating the stoplight & the pedestrian crosswalk signal. Count the cars that make it through a green light or count the cars that are sitting at a red light. Draw a map of the corner. Check out the road signs.
Just for fun, play a game of Green Light, Red Light. Someone is the “traffic light” & stands on one end of the room. The other participants line up on the other side of the room. The “traffic light” yells, “green light!” and turns away from the children. The other children begin walking/running towards the “traffic light”. The “traffic light” yells, “red light,” turns around to see everyone, and all the children stop. If the “traffic light” sees someone still moving, he/she pulls them over! (they’re out) The person to get to the “traffic light” first, wins. (If you want to, you can also call “yellow light!” and the kids should move slowly.)
History Inventions: The Telephone In our story, the man used the telephone to call the zoo. And George used the phone and accidentally called the fire station!
The telephone was invented more than a hundred years ago (1849-1876). It was invented by several people, though Alexander Graham Bell is the one generally given credit for it. He put together ideas that many people came up with before him. In 1875, he was able to use a telephone to call his friend Mr. Watson in another room and ask Mr. Watson if he could hear him. And Mr. Watson heard! But he had to go running in to the room where Alexander Graham Bell waited to tell him that he could hear. It took almost a whole year longer for Alexander Graham Bell to enable the telephone to allow Mr. Watson to reply back to him.
It’s hard to imagine everyday life without the telephone.
Activity: Make Tin Can Telephones: Take two clean, empty tin cans (make sure they have smooth edges!). Punch a hole in the bottom of each. Thread a long piece of thin wire or string through the holes. Use buttons to tie to the ends of each string to act as a stopper. Now the children can stretch out the wire as far as it can go. Have one child talk into one end as the other child (or you) holds his can to his ear. The vibrations from the child’s voice will travel along the wire (having the wire straight improves the sound) to the other person’s ear.

Of all the shows my children watched as toddlers, preschoolers, kindergartners, and grade 1 students – this was one of my favorites! I love how the cartoon version includes concepts to teach kids math and science! Truly an educational preschool television show! HINT: If you get the new books they include a math activity or science experiment at the back! These free printable curious george worksheets take the activity a little farther by letting your kids practice alphabet letters, tracing, counting and more with their favorite friendly monkey!
Plus, George is so friendly, funny, and cute. He has such a sweet face and is always well intentioned. My son always liked the doorman’s dog Hundley who was responsible and orderly – I guess it figures since he is a first born. My daughter always liked Allie who was full of spunk and good ideas. As a mom, I can’t help but think I could learn something from the man with the yellow hat who was always so patient and encouraging – even when things didn’t work out the way he planned.

These funny poems will appeal to kids from three to five and those who have already gone to school and learned to read on their own. “Reading Day-2010” was held together with our favorite characters, Kwak and Toad. About these very different, but such friendly heroes of Arnold Lobel’s books, we came up with several interesting tasks. Those who already read and write themselves will be able to search for hidden words among a pile of scattered letters, play anagrams (just don’t peek at the answers!) and a crossword puzzle where you need to recognize which story the picture belongs to. The Education Station Day Care Center has been preparing children for their academic and social path for the past 25 years. The program is respected and well attended due to the ratio of staff to children andthe caliber of staff providing care and education. Each group is directed by a certified early childhood educator.
The program provides care for children six weeks to seven years of age on a full time basis. Classrooms are designed around developmental plateaus and children are assigned based on their needs and development as well as their age.

Great daycare, undisputed! It is a bit pricey when my daughter went ($300/wk for infants to $275 for toddlers), but it is worth every penny! The staff is knowledgeable and professional. And the schooldefinitely lives up to it’s name. My daughter went there from about 2 1/2 years old to when she graduated at 5 1/2 years old. And even though it was in another town, this school worked for me because it allows drop off at 7:00a.m. and pick-up at 6:30p.m. at no extra charge, which was better than most schools that we looked at. And I also loved the staff and curriculum! When she started, she was just beginning to get potty trained. So even if your child is not toilet trained, they accept them and help them in the process. I also liked that they provide breakfast and snacks, though kids can bring their own from home. They ask you to bring lunch, but you can always speak to them to see if you have any options, which there are, if you are unable to…even with the tuition. They teach the kids everything they need to be ready (or even advanced) for Kindergarten. By the time my daughter graduated, they taught her the basics: her full name, her address, alphabet, numbers (0-100), shapes and address. She was also able to spell, do addition, subtraction, sound out words and even some reading in addition to numerous other things. And even if your child is not able to do all these things, since they appreciate and understand that all children are different, they will help them to their potential. This way, they are at least introduced to these concepts for Kindergarten and beyond. The children are taught English and also introduced to other languages (Spanish, Tagalog, and Sign). I was impressed that they are even introduced to concepts and subjects such Science (Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Astronomy, etc.), Mathematics, Government, Cooking, etc. through simple experiments, books, demonstrations, lessons, etc. The best part, they do all these things while managing to make it fun and the kids get to enjoy being kids because they get plenty of play, outdoor time (weather permitting) and nap-time. And at all times, the well-being of the child takes precedence. Alot of parents that graduated from this school (and themselves became lawyers, doctors, teachers, etc. ) even end up sending their own kids to this school! The staff is great and very professional with over 25 years of education knowledge and experience… especially the Assistant Director, Mr. Michael. I think this is school is amazing, diverse, and focuses on all the right things to prepare your child for the future. I have no regrets sending my daughter there, even though I live in a different town, and I will be sending my son there as well!…

John Fulton Folinsby (born March 14, 1892, Buffalo, New York (state) – Dead May 10, 1972, New Hope, Pennsylvania) was an American landscape painter, member of the New Hope, Pennsylvania art colony. It belongs to the school of American Impressionism, whose center was in New Hope. Cezanne’s work was especially revered and researched. Later it gradually evolved towards realism and modernism. He is best known today for his Impressionist scenes in New Hope and Lambertville, New Jersey, in particular the factories, quarries and canals along the Delaware River.
He was born in Buffalo, New York, the middle son of Harrison and Louise May Folinsbee.Beginning at the age of nine, he attended children’s classes at the Art Students’ League of Buffalo, but received his first formal training with the landscape painter Jonas Lee in 1907. Folinsbee of polio at the age of 14, which rendered his leg useless, weakened his right arm, and left him permanently wheelchair-bound. He attended Artillery, a boarding school in Washington, Connecticut, from 1907 to 1911 where he studied with Elizabeth Kempton and Herbert Faulkner.He later studied with Birge Harrison and John Carlson at the Woodstock Art Colony (summer, 1912-1914), 30 and with Frank Vincent Dumont at the Art Students League of New York .
At Woodstock, he met Harry (Tony) Leith-Ross, who became a lifelong friend and then followed him to New Hope. In 1914, Folinsbee married Ruth Baldwin (August 8, 1890 – February 13, 1991) – daughter of William H. Baldwin, Jr. and Ruth Standish Baldwin – whom he met in Washington, Connecticut. The couple moved to New Hope at 1916, and had two daughters, Beth and Joan.
Early in his career, Folinsbee painted in a tonalist style, with an interest in light and atmosphere that grew straight out of his time with Harrison and Carlson at Woodstock. By the end of nineteen teens, he moved away from tonalism into a more structured style of impressionism. In the mid-1920s, Folinsbee began studying Cezanne’s work, which led to a trip to France in the summer of 1926. The paintings that resulted from this trip, and those that followed at the end of the decade, reflect Cezanne’s deep understanding of compositional strategies and a desire to uncover the underlying form structure. Folinsbee’s exploration of structure eventually led to the analytical, highly individual Expressionist style in which he painted for the remainder of his career. His palette has darkened, his brushstrokes are loosened further, and his sense of light and atmosphere has become more dramatic. These later works are concerned with conveying a sense of mood and an intense emotional response to the world around him.
Folinsbee painted plein air, directly from nature, and always had a sketchbook or box of 8 x 10 inch canvasboards with him, ready to capture any scene that caught his eye. He and Leith Ross were famous for spending afternoon sketches on the New Hope Bridge and throw everything that displeases them into the Delaware River). n.24 Folinsbee could handle “paintings as big as 24 X 30” from his wheelchair.Larger works were painted in a studio from drawings and oil sketches. He would often repeat the same scene on different sizes of canvas, or as an etching or lithograph.To paint a large work, he would lean the canvas against the studio wall and sit on the floor in front of it, his withered legs tucked under him.Relying on the notes made on the spot about color and light, he will edit the scene as he wrote,
The Folinsbees bought an acre of waterfront land about a quarter of a mile upstream from the bridge, across the street from the house they were renting. In 1924 they hired architect (and landscape painter) Morgan Colt to design them an Arts and Crafts style house and studio. Folinsbee painted dozens of river views from the property – most notably Winter Nocturne (1926), River Ice (c.1936), and his last major work, Zero Morning (1970) – and some views of the house itself. They lived at 160 North Main Street until their deaths.
In 1929, the Folinsbees were among the founders of the Phillips Mill, an arts center housed in the mill’s former mound, and Ruth Folinsbee served as the first vice president of their community association. He participated in art exhibitions there from 1929 to 1960, His Shag Ledge ( c.1959) was awarded the 1963 First Patron Award by the Phillips Mill. The Folinsbees are also founders of the Bucks County Playhouse.
The Great Depression hit artists hard, with little market for luxury goods such as landscape painting. Folinsbee resorted to bartering his jobs for services, including dentistry for his daughters. Portraits — for which he typically charged $400 to $500 for a head-and-bust and $1,000 for a three-quarter-length, N.3 — became a big part of his output. Edward Beatty Rowan, Assistant Superintendent of Public Buildings of the Painting and Sculpture Administration Section, offered him a commission for a post office mural in Freeland, Pennsylvania. Completed at 19Folinsbee’s 38 fresco is both pastoral and industrial: depicting the city’s spiers peeking out from among the autumn-colored hills, but also the city’s massive coal-breaker and its long coal dump.
Folinsbee was also a teacher. One of his more famous students, Peter G. Cook (who married his daughter Joan in 1938), became a friend and colleague. The couple collaborated on murals for two other federal projects: the Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Paducah, Kentucky (1939), 100 and the Post Office in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania (1942).- 02
In the mid-1930s, Folinsbee and his family began to spend their summers in Maine. He bought a house in Murphy’s Corner, between Bath and Wiscasset, in 1949. Despite the intense alertness of the ocean, he began a new aspect of his career as a marine painter. His Off Seguin (Ellingwood Rock) was awarded the 1952 Palmer Marine Prize by the National Academy of Design. With the prize money, Folinsbee bought a 25-foot motorized Hampton sunflower (a flat-bottomed open boat) that he named “Sketch” and equipped as a floating studio.
Folinsbee was diagnosed with cancer in the late 1960s, further weakening his right arm. He stopped painting in 1971, and died a year later at New Hope.
Folinsbee’s work has been described as the “rural counterpart” to the Ashery School. Critic Robert E. Baum (son of artist Walter Emerson Baum) saw in it “the power, frankness and quality of a story about George Furs or Winsham Homer.” . This person sees the rhythm of beauty combined with color harmony in many ordinary secluded places, which may seem ugly to the average passer-by “In modern American painting (1940), Peyton Boswell, Jr. placed him among the ‘lyricists’ – “Cranky ones, dreamers and mystics”, who “work sometimes in painting, but more often in terms of light, shadow and chiaroscuro. They use color and form for the emotional, not for aesthetic reasons.”
Folinsbee was elected an associate member of the National Academy of Design in 1919, and a full academician in 1928 he was elected a member of the Salmagundi Club in 1913, a life member of the National Art Club at 1922 and a member of the Century Association in 1937, he was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1953.
Folinsbee has been represented by the Ferargil Gallery in New York for most of his career and his paintings have been exhibited throughout the country and in several international exhibitions. He has won almost every award given by the National Academy of Design, winning some of them multiple times. He exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts most of the years from 1915 to 1952, and was awarded in 1931 the Jessie Sesnan Medal (for canal and river). He also received awards from the Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, the Rhode Island School of Design, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Salmagundi Club, and other arts organizations, including a bronze medal at the Philadelphia Centenary Exposition in 1926.
Folinsbee’s work is in the permanent collections of major museums, including the Smithsonian American Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the National Academy of Design and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. A bronze bust of him by his friend Harry Rosin is in the collection of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.
Folinsbee students included artists Peter G. Cook and Evelyn Allen Faherty.
Son-in-law Peter G. Cook wrote a personal memoir, John Folinsbee (1994). Kirsten M. Jensen, senior curator of the James A. Michener Museum of Art in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, is the author of Folinsbee Reviewed (2014), a scholarly biography and reason catalogue. They often communicate with the forces of nature through ancient rituals (during one of these rituals, red stripes were applied to the girl’s body, which we see in the photograph). The tribe is also engaged in agriculture and hunting. The Indians manage to earn some money thanks to people who come to shoot films or photo reports about the life of the tribe. The Indians even have a car, but only one for the whole tribe.

Antonio, 17, lives with his mother in Naples, Italy. He is engaged in bodybuilding – grows large muscles (for this he does special exercises and follows a special diet). Antonio rides to school on a moped that his mother gave him for his 14th birthday. The young man does not like to study and is looking forward to finally finishing school. He usually spends his free time at the computer, chatting with his 1,300 friends on Facebook.
Ernesto, 9 years old (Italy, near the city of Orvieto)
No, this is not a girl, but a boy named Ernesto or Nesti. He is also Italian, but he does not live in the city, but in the countryside, in an old farmhouse near the city of Orvieto. They learn to dig, to grow corn, to plow fields with a plow pulled by a donkey. In the afternoon, children study the Koran, the holy book of Muslims. Kaya’s friends love to visit her and try on her clothes. Kaya is only 4 years old, but she is already attending a prep school. American Jamie lives with his parents and younger twin brother and sister in New York, studies at a prestigious school. Despite the fact that the cost of education in it is very high, it was not so easy to get into this school – for this you had to pass several tests. The boy is a good student. Most of all, he likes lessons in a computer class, spelling and labor (woodwork), but does not like geometry. Jamie has very little free time because he has to study a lot. Once a week he practices judo and goes swimming. When he grows up, Jamie would like to become a lawyer like his dad.
Delaney, 9 years old (USA, New Jersey)
9-year-old Delaney is also an American. She lives with her parents and younger siblings in New Jersey. The family has a big house where each child has his own room. Delaney loves to dress up more than anything in the world and spends about an hour every evening in front of the mirror, choosing her outfit for tomorrow. She travels to school on the school bus with her brother. The ride only takes 10 minutes, but Delaney really doesn’t like sitting next to his brother on the bus. She likes to communicate with classmates, but she does not like to study. Delaney takes only 15 minutes a day to prepare her homework, but every evening she puts off until the last moment when she has to sit down for lessons. Delaney also loves to shop and dance. In the future, she dreams of becoming a fashion designer.
Harrison, 8 years old (USA, New Jersey)
Harrison, 8, also lives in the US state of New Jersey. He is the only child in the family. The boy goes to a paid school where children are strictly forbidden to fight and tease each other. It takes a full two hours to get to school by car, but Harrison’s mom says she enjoys spending that time with her son every day. The boy’s family lives in a beautiful house with a marble staircase. Harrison’s bedroom has a large TV and access to a private bathroom. The boy also has a separate playroom. From food, Harrison loves pizza and chocolate the most. He has several pets: two cats, a gerbil (this is a small animal that looks like a hamster, but with a long tail), a fish and several frogs. When he grows up, Harrison wants to be a veterinarian.
Jeevan, 4 years old (USA, New York City)
4-year-old Jeevan lives with his parents in an apartment located in one of the New York skyscrapers. From the window of his bedroom there is a beautiful view of the city. The boy has a large closet with toys and a separate bathroom. The design of the room was designed by Jivan’s mother. At her job, she just does what she comes up with the design for the rooms. Jeevan’s preparatory school is only a 10-minute walk from the house. To enroll, Jeevan and his parents had to answer a special test to see if the boy would be able to communicate with other children. For Jeevan, this was a difficult test because he is a very quiet boy. When he grows up, Jeevan would like to be a fireman.
