How a family school works | Chalk

If a regular school does not work out, parents first of all think about the possibility of home schooling. But there is another alternative. Muscovite Anna Turchaninova, the mother of four children, became disillusioned with general educational institutions and opened a family school with friends. What a family school is, how it works and what to do to organize it, Turchaninova told Tatyana Dvornikova.

Anna Turchaninova was in her ninth month of pregnancy when her eldest son Alexander was kicked out of Chemistry Lyceum No. 1574 with a scandal. According to Anna, the decision to transfer her son was a mistake, but the school did not suit him very well either. nine0003

As a result, my son graduated from a humanitarian lyceum and entered a pedagogical university in order not to join the army. And Anna decided not to mess with public schools anymore.

How the oldest school in the world lives without lessons and rules

She says that at a certain moment she had the “age of conscious parenthood”: “After all, giving birth at 33 is not giving birth at 19. There was dissatisfaction with the social situation, its true purpose.” The words of the class teacher also touched: “We work on the principle of an institute — we give lectures to motivated students. You have to provide the motivation yourself.” nine0003

“Wow. Why then school at all? Lectures can also be watched on the Internet, ”Turchaninova thought. Then, Anna recalls, for the first time in a dispute with the school, she took the side of the child. And then there was a complete rethinking of the parental role in upbringing and education. Now she and her friends are doing a family ”Morning School”. All of them refused general educational institutions for their children.

    How the family school works

Turchaninova’s two children, six-year-old Katya and four-year-old Petya, study at the school. In total, the project involves six families and ten children from four to seven years old – a mixed group, and this is one of the principles of education. Four seven-year-olds are enrolled in the first grade of a regular school for distance learning, they will take written assessments by mail twice a year. Invited teachers work with children, and parents jointly choose teachers and organize field events. nine0003

Children study math, reading, writing, nature, architecture, English, music, and laboratory work. A separate block is sports activities: swimming, dancing, skiing. Every Wednesday at the school there are excursion days, on Fridays there are additional one-time classes, for example, a literary studio and meetings with interesting people. The entire permanent teaching staff consists of five teachers. The school is open five days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. In autumn, spring, summer – camps, July and August – holidays. nine0003

    How it all started

The main reason for creating the school was logistical. “We started taking Katya to various classes from about a year ago. Interests became more and more – rhythm, dancing, manual creativity, swimming, music. Logistics became more complicated, it was not possible to take part in all the classes. In addition, art and music teachers confidently said that hard timing was not suitable for them, they needed to spend two or three hours with children for 20 minutes of concentrated attention. That is, it was necessary not to take them to specific classes, but to get into the right environment, within which careful approaches to learning are possible. Friends gathered around – parents of children of about the same age, and we decided to stir up something, ”says Turchaninova about the creation of the project. nine0003

Two years ago they opened a garden for half a day, found a teacher and began to invite teachers. The same group of children began to go on trainings and excursions

“We did not take the children somewhere, but together we made the right place, in our opinion. None of us made money on this, the school did not have and does not have a director, we throw off all costs in equal shares. We solve organizational issues by a majority of votes,” Anna explains the principles of interaction.

The next year, the “Morning School” unfolded for the whole day – everyone refused nannies. A permanent room was rented for classes, and there were more objects. nine0003

What is the main goal of the family school

“While solving various organizational problems of the school, we kept saying to ourselves: “For the same money, we could send the child to a good kindergarten or school, why do we need these difficulties?”, — recalls Turchaninov.

In the process of planning the program, the participants of the Morning School decided not to focus on established values. “We consistently brushed aside false targets. Getting a certificate? Yep, it’s easy to get. Obtaining a specific set of knowledge and skills? No, knowledge can now be googled in 30 seconds, and the list of required standards is always very controversial. Be happy? Yes, but how exactly can this be implemented within the school? nine0003

So far, according to Turchaninova, they have found only one more or less common goal – this is self-motivation and creativity of the child: “A person must have bright eyes, he must see different ways of learning, want to develop and be able to do it, he must want to create something new !

Many schools, according to Anna, call these goals their own, but in fact they are secondary or rather auxiliary to the main task. Passing the school program according to the Federal State Educational Standards, successfully passing the OGE and the Unified State Examination, entering a good institute. “But in fact, this is not all necessary, right? We all know examples of successful and happy losers, and today’s profession for only half of us is connected with the education received. And you have only one Monday morning – and you either study the multiplication table according to the program, or go to the park with a net. Because yesterday you watched a cartoon about butterflies, and you need to understand if we have such ones, ”explains Turchaninova. nine0003

Parents decided to create their own school when they came to the idea: in order to captivate a child with something, you must definitely get carried away yourself

“We are looking for, developing, growing, learning – and they are behind us. In addition, we are no longer ready to delegate the educational initiative and the formation of a value system to the state and professionals. We want to be at least qualified customers and co-executors. Therefore, the creation of family schools is a completely predictable response of mature, adequate parents to the endless, incomprehensible, multidirectional actions of the state to change the education system.” nine0003

    How the classes go

All the teachers who were invited to the “Morning School” initially did not understand at all how to work with a group of different ages: after all, Petya is already reading with might and main, but Dasha is not yet. But, according to Turchaninova, two years of practice showed that such a problem does not exist: “Someone got involved in the lesson, and some did not, this is absolutely not related to skills. Olya, who cannot read, may be a more active member of the group than Varya, who reads well but does not want to study today. If the group size is no more than ten people, there is no problem.” nine0003

How schools are organized in Europe

Classes are focused on environmental and practical learning. Olga Pavlushchenko, a music teacher and founder of the School of Playing Plastic Music Making, became the flagship of the implementation of this technique.

Music is one of the central subjects at school, and in the lessons, according to Anna, children are primarily involved in the process, they play music. She lays them out and starts playing or humming a melody familiar to the children. Some children play it third, others pick it up on the xylophone, others knock, and someone just listens. There is collective music-making, where everyone does what he can. nine0003

Mathematics works in a similar way: children solve practical problems, learn combinatorics with beads, or try to divide a pie into several equal parts. Everyone finds their role in the process.

According to Turchaninova, a group of different ages, first of all, allows you to remove barriers and competition between children

“Any team, both adults and children, builds a certain hierarchy. A mixed-age group creates a natural hierarchy that reduces the intensity of tensions. There are older people in the group, and everyone agrees with this. They read, draw, write better. And there are younger ones who are taken care of by the older ones. We don’t have negative group dynamics,” says Anna. nine0003

An English lesson is an immersion in a language environment. The teacher speaks English with the children all day long, while at the lesson they cook borscht, clean up, sort out the beans, play loto, with animals or go for a walk. At first, the teacher was not sure about the correctness of such a program, a year later she was disappointed because the children did not know anything. But two months later, the whole group spoke up.

The family school also teaches architecture. They create layouts with their own hands, solve problems: for example, how to resettle a family of six people in one house

The logic of this technique is that tools are issued upon request. When children themselves are interested, they get a new object or solution in their hands. According to Turchaninova, the answers to those questions that do not yet exist in the child’s head are a waste of time and effort. However, the tools must be accessible. For example, in a chemistry lesson, you can make a candle and study the properties of wax, or lay out all the devices in front of children – everyone will show curiosity.

    Why not home schooling

“We were already told from the other side of the barricades: ‘Yes, that’s right, you don’t have to go there, but why are you doing school again? For once, it became possible to give children a quality home education, but no, they are again engaged in collectivization. But we all work and cannot take care of children all day long. In addition, we believe in the role of a teacher and are not going to teach ourselves. And it is unrealistic to invite interesting teachers only to your child – either there is not enough money, or he will simply not be interested. Group dynamics are also very important. And, finally, we ourselves are interested in doing all this because we are friends, argue, burn, we have our own parental party, ”explains Turchaninova. nine0003

For some time there was no single program at the school — a team of parents simply invited teachers they were interested in and gave the green light

not to create a system of goals, tasks, evaluation of results at school, teachers choose the easiest way “to please”. Or they go in the direction of formal results, “which can be shown to parents.” It became clear that it was necessary to at least briefly and in general terms define the tasks and evaluate the results of the educational process. nine0003

    Teaching methodology

The parent team developed the Agile teaching methodology. So, at school, they operate with small periods of two to three months – teachers, parents and children formulate tasks for this period. Teachers write common goals with accents for each child – for example, learn the alphabet: Katya – all, Pete – learn to distinguish between letters. Parents learn from their children what they are interested in learning, and also write tasks for their child. As a result, a sheet is obtained, divided into three parts: the tasks of the child, parent and teacher. Ideally, according to Turchaninova, part of the child should grow and make up an increasing percentage in setting goals. nine0003

Further, all tasks are discussed at the extended teachers’ council. Some tasks may be delayed or cancelled. Such a decision can be made by the task initiator on the basis of the recommendations received from the discussion.

Some questions about a particular child can be discussed in a narrow group: only teachers and parents, if they are not ready to discuss it publicly

The tasks left on the list form the basis of the program. At the same time, none of the teachers guarantees a specific result, since this is impossible with loyal methods. Yes, and it is not necessary, if we proceed from the goals of the school. The results of the period are evaluated by the dynamics of movement in given directions, but the most important thing is compliance with the overall goal. The school also regularly hosts meetings, trainings, and lectures for parents. nine0003

    Learning outcomes

According to Anna, the main result is that children like it, parents are passionate, and teachers create. So, in June, at the last exhibition, children presented the architecture of different eras, placing their models of buildings on the timeline.

25 films about world architecture, art and design

During the existence of the school, several families left the project – the format requires daily inclusion, effort and time. Not everyone was ready for rich interaction between families. But the school is developing further and the organizers do not plan to expand it. It is the family format, in their opinion, that is an advantage. nine0003

Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan

    July 29, 2019, Monday

Some schools have been recruiting classes for “effective “beginners” for the second year already. The experiment is not particularly advertised, but there is information for parents on the schools’ websites. they won’t enroll in a three-year class – you have to pass a selection. So, what is the difference between the “beginning” for three years instead of four? The main differences are in the first year of study. Students must complete the material of the first grade until December, and from January to May – the material of the second grade.

Irina Shapovalenko, Head of the Department of Developmental Psychology named after Professor L.F. Obukhova, Faculty of Educational Psychology, Moscow State Psychological and Pedagogical University, told RG: “The very idea of shortened, accelerated education in elementary school does not reject me. There is a variability in the educational trajectory, parents can choose a three-year or four-year option. be useful three-year “starter”?0003

Most likely, these are children who are quite intellectually developed, as if they are quite capable of starting school according to their mental abilities, but having difficulties of various kinds. For example, a child is hyperactive, with difficulty concentrating. Or children are anxious, sensitive, vulnerable, having difficulty in communicating with their peers. Or children who are physically weak, often sick. They get a chance to spend extra time in kindergarten, to overcome some of their weaknesses in the freer atmosphere of preschool classes (especially since the period from 6 to 7 years is very important in terms of brain maturation). And then go to school on a three-year program. nine0003

In this case, their parents will be less worried that the smart, but having some difficulties, the child will “overstay”, be late compared to their peers . .. At the same time, the four-year primary school program has its advantages, which allow most children in a suitable pace, relying on their own strength to learn the necessary content. What worries me about the implementation of the three-year model, “reduced” or “accelerated” “beginning”? Have new programs been developed? Will it not turn out that the four-year program will be mechanically squeezed into three years? If some classes are moving to three years of study, then the school should have programs for both four and three years of study. You cannot just throw out some sections or cut time, the content of the training must be thought out and restructured. Yes, and textbooks must be brought into line with the new conditions, but has this been done? nine0003

Three pieces of advice from Irina Shapovalenko to parents of future first-graders:

    1. Under no circumstances should you try to send your child to a three-year primary school program “for the sake of reducing time” or for reasons of prestige. If your child, according to teachers, is not ready to study for three years instead of the usual four, this does not mean at all that he will be less successful than others.

    2. You should not waste your energy on coaching a child to successfully pass the entrance test at any cost – force him to learn numbers and letters, slip prescriptions. This can only hurt and push the child away from school, cause disgust for the very process of learning. nine0003

    3. Please note that if a child already knows how to read, has numeracy skills, this does not mean that he is absolutely in order with “school maturity”. There is a concept of psychological readiness for school. The child must be positively disposed towards school, motivated for this important stage, perceive the teacher, accept the task, be able to get involved in the common work… For all children, this readiness is formed at different times, and not without the participation of interested and caring parents!

What do parents need to know about the three-year “primary school”?

With a three-year education, a foreign language for children will begin in the first year of study, and homework – too. While in ordinary classes there are no homework assignments in the first year of study, and a foreign language is taught only from the second year of study, in the second grade. If in the usual “start” the mandatory load is 21 hours, then in the accelerated – 23 hours.

December – April – independent diagnostics. Didn’t get diagnosed? As stated in the documents, “in case of unsatisfactory results of independent diagnostics or non-liquidation of academic debt within the time frame set by the school, the number of years for mastering the educational program may be increased to the figure approved in the standard.” What this will look like in practice is not clear. It turns out that a first-grader, apparently, should be transferred, say, from 1 A, who studies according to an accelerated program, to 1 B, if he goes according to the usual one. And if the whole parallel at school has switched to an “effective “starter”, go to another school? Or switch to individual or home schooling? What if, following the results of the diagnostics, 5-10 students had to be transferred to other classes? In 5 A there will be 25 students , and in 5 B – only 15? If a whole year is deducted from primary school, then fewer teachers are needed. Let it be 1-2-3 teachers, but they will have to be fired?

There are other questions. The main task of accelerated learning is to support motivated children who are very well prepared for school. Yes, there are children who read and write from the age of 4, know the basics of phonetics and know what a phraseological phrase is. But such units! Here are the reviews of parents about what is changing in the accelerated beginning: “copybooks and the alphabet are shrinking, increased homework”, “mathematics is galloping across Europe”, “since January the main thing is English and the multiplication table, and English textbooks are designed for those who already knows how to read and write decently and the study lasts not half a year, but a year. nine0003

What should a first-grader in an accelerated school know and be able to do by December? (example of diagnostic work of MCCS)?

    Russian language

    1. Mark words with a consonant sound at the beginning (berry, iris, nut, peony, ear) , pies) 3. Mark the line where all the words answer the question “what?”

    – written, cook, kind – white, red, blush – pencils, toys, houses – colored, soft, school

    Mathematics

    1. Kolya had 5 books on the shelf and 7 books in the cupboard. How many books did Kolya have in total? 2. There were three apples, 7 sweets and 5 pears on the table. How many fruits were on the table? Write down the solution and the answer. 3. Look at the picture (there is a ruler with two segments marked with different colors). Which question needs to be subtracted to answer? Mark the correct answer. By how many centimeters is the length of the lower segment greater than the length of the upper segment? What is the length of the top section? What is the length of the two segments? How to find the length of each segment? nine0003

    Little Ones Daycare

Lillia and Hannah are amazing. Our daughter was always so happy to go to daycare. I highly recommend Little Ones Daycare for their caring and calming environment.

    Kids Castle

Can you give 10 stars instead of 5? I can’t write enough good things about Kids Castle. We found out about them on Tootris and signed up for a tour. Pictures on yelp can’t show you how adorable her set up is for kids of different ages. Sayena makes our child amazing homemade food, keeps himincredibly happy and genuinely loves him. She has the magic to get him to eat celery, nap, and keep him looking clean while having fun. Sayena always sends photos and is easy to communicate with. Do yourself a favor and sign up for a tour….

    Debbie’s Daycare

Ms Debbie has a lot experience, take care of the kids with love, teach them a lot of stuff, they do activities every day, change diapers each 2 hours, well I am just loving the way she and her helper Katlyn are taking care of my kid and the way she runs the day care.

    Fara’s Day Care / Preschool

We didn’t stay long with Fara since we quickly realized there were major personality conflicts. She seemed very nice, nurturing and well qualified during the interview, but by the 2nd day her demeanor completely changed after a tough day with our child. Without getting into all the details…to sumit up…Pros: Tidy house, good food, gated community, small group – there were only 5 children while we were there. Cons: Very difficult to communicate with, disregards needs of parents, will use terms such as “difficult”/”crybabies” to describe the children, no backyard, open mon-thurs and closes at 4:30p. There were a couple parents that have been there for years. If you’re the type that is ok with never bringing up concerns and tip toeing around her diva personality, you might get along great with her! Good luck!…

    Description:

Kids Castle is a licensed family home daycare for children, aged 6 weeks old and up. Our school combines academic learning with structured play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.
It has been an absolutejoy to have been working in this field for more than 20 years. In my years working as a preschool teacher at a well established center, I focused on getting to know each child individually in order to meet their needs best. I believe that it is in these tender years where children develop vital personal and social skills which they cultivate as they age. Giving them the time, care and attention they need and deserve is of utmost importance in helping them grow.
As the kids progress, we will engage in creative arts and crafts. In addition, I will be teaching them the alphabet and numbers. I also believe that teaching children etiquette is key in shaping their future, as well as it will help them learn how to play and socialize with other kids in a positive manner so they can best enjoy the bliss of childhood.

FAQs for finding preschools near you in Carlsbad, CA

How much does preschool cost near me in Carlsbad, CA?

How much you will spend to send your little one to preschool can vary significantly depending on where you live, the quality of the preschool, and what services they offer. While the average hourly pay rate for preschools near you in Carlsbad, CA is $18.86, this rate can look quite different depending on each unique preschool and your family’s needs.

In 2023 what types of preschool can I find near me in Carlsbad, CA?

There are two main types of preschool programs you can send your kids to near you in Carlsbad, CA. The first is a full-time preschool program that usually works well for parents working full-time shifts. The second is a part-time preschool program where you can enroll your child for two to three days per week and typically choose between a morning or afternoon shift. A part-time preschool can be a great option if you want to ease the transition of this new learning experience for your child. You can also check your options in Carlsbad, CAfor traditional preschool centers, or private home-based preschools.

What should I look for in a good preschool program near me in Carlsbad, CA?

When you begin looking for preschools near me in Carlsbad, CA ask about the ratio of learning time to supervised play time so you can get a good sense of whether you believe your child’s needs will be met. From there, ask about what a typical day consists of, what the safety protocols are and how discipline will be handled. Also, make sure to check directly with the preschool for information about their local licensing and credentials in Carlsbad, CA.

How can I find a preschool near me in Carlsbad, CA?

When looking for a preschool near you in Carlsbad, CA on Care.com and you can filter the local results by distance from your zip code. From there, you can compare between preschool programs by traditional facility-based preschools and private, in-home preschools. Be sure to check reviews from other families in Carlsbad, CA who have previously sent their kids to any of the preschools you are interested in.

How can I ensure safety when looking for a preschool near me in Carlsbad, CA?

As a parent, safety is likely top of mind when you look for a preschool near me in Carlsbad, CA. We request that all preschools listed on Care.com complete an annual background check called a CareCheck. Any preschools who complete a CareCheck have a badge on their profile that displays the date the background check was run. While a CareCheck is a great jumping off point, we strongly recommend that you do your own due diligence when choosing a preschool. It’s a good idea to request references from other clients and to tour multiple preschools near you in Carlsbad, CA.

    AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

    We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

    SCHOOL-READY

    What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

    Old Tappan KinderCare Programs

    Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
    ready to explore their world.

    Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

    Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

    Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
    kindergarten!

    Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community.  Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

    Kindergarten Programs (5–6 Years)

Welcome to kindergarten: the gateway to grade school and everything that
comes next! Offered in select centers, our kindergarten programs have small
class sizes and curriculums that mix learning and fun. The basic building
blocks of reading, writing, math, and science are key in kindergarten, so we
make sure they get lots of practice in all of these areas.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

    Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

    Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

    Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

    Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

    STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
    amazing things!

    Worldwide, New York

MOSCOW, January 16 — RIA Novosti. In New York City, the east end of the old Hudson Tappan Zee Bridge was demolished. Video posted on YouTube.

The footage shows how the structure collapses into the river in a few seconds after being blown up.

According to the New York Post, despite the weekday, several hundred people turned up to watch the demolition of Tappan Zee.

“It was worth it to get cold. This happens once in a lifetime. This explosion was just amazing,” says one of the eyewitnesses. nine0003

The Tappan Zee Bridge was completed in 1955. Initially, it was planned to be demolished in 2005, but as a result, the work was postponed to a later date. Instead of the old crossing, a new bridge was built across the Hudson in 2017.

Toka is a light sculpture that reacts to the movements of passers-by.

Artist Cheryl Wing-Zee Wong designed an interactive installation on the Tappan Zee Bridge in New York State with LED animation that responds to people passing by.

A permanent sculpture called the Current is located on the Westchester County side of the Tappan Zee Bridge, which crosses the Hudson River between Tarrytown and Nyack. nine0003

Toka is on a bridge in New York State.

The current one consists of 12 triangular steel arches set on a concrete foundation. The arches line up next to each other and gradually decrease in height.

Each arch features an iridescent glass fin on top that refracts sunlight and creates shadows during the day, while built-in LED lights create a white glow after dark.

The unit emits white light at night based on sensors. nine0003

“The name was chosen in reference to the ebb and flow of river currents on the Hudson River, as well as the currents of light and the passage of time,” artist Wing-Zee Wong told Dezeen.

The installation is equipped with motion sensors that detect the movement of passers-by and start an LED animation that reacts to pedestrians, drivers and cyclists.

“In the evening, Current creates a shared spatial experience with light animation that responds to the movements of passers-by,” Wing-Zee Wong explained. nine0003

Like the chimes of a clock, the sculpture also plays a different light animation at the beginning of each hour of the day.

“The work is a dynamic and interactive sculpture that celebrates transformation,” said the artist.

Glass ribs are located on top of the triangular structure.

Officially named the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, the Tappan Zee Bridge replaced the previous version in 2017.

The foundation, cladding and pillars holding the glass fins are made from steel recovered from the old bridge. nine0003

The installation is designed to be interactive.

Win-Zee Wong’s process involved studying the site and history of the Hudson River and the old Tappan Zee Bridge, after which she designed the setup using Rhino 3D drawing software.

“Current pays tribute to this connection and the legacy of the Tappan Zee Bridge as the historic main junction connecting the Hudson between two counties north of New York,” said Win-Zee Wong.

Current keeps track of its location

Cheryl Wing-Zee Wong is a New York-based artist whose work explores the boundary between art and architecture.

Recent installation projects include a kaleidoscope mirror catwalk created by artist Doug Aitken for last week’s Saint Laurent menswear show in Venice, and a sculpture at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed that can be turned into a race track using an augmented reality app.

We first opened our doors to preschoolers back in 1962. Many years have passed since then, several eras have changed. And we changed with the times.

    Preschool mission:

The realization of the right of every child to a quality and affordable education that provides equal conditions for the full physical and mental development of children, as the basis for their successful education in school.

Kindergarten is a home where kids live,
Kindergarten is a house where people sing from the heart.
    Kindergarten is games, activities, laughter,
Kindergarten is a childish joy for everyone!

Having crossed the threshold of our kindergarten, you will find yourself in a bright, unique world of childhood, in which all the conditions for a rich and interesting life of your baby are created.

On the site you will find a lot of necessary and useful information about our kindergarten, you can get to know those who help you raise and educate your children.

The main thing in the work of our preschool educational institution is the preservation and strengthening of the physical and mental health of pupils, their creative and intellectual development, and the provision of conditions for personal growth. The implementation of this great and responsible work is impossible in isolation from the family, because you are the parents – the first and main educators of your child from the moment of birth and for life.

Dads and moms need to remember that a kindergarten is only an assistant in raising a child, and therefore parents should not shift all responsibility onto teachers and withdraw from the educational process.

    On our website you can

We hope that our site will be useful both to parents of kindergarten students and to many others!

The Setting Lead is responsible for all of Healthy Together’s school-based sites in a given county. They work directly with Site Champions and their teams. The Setting Lead is the Site Champion’s local Healthy Together contact.

The Setting Lead is responsible for:

    • Registering sites to participate in the Healthy Together program designed for their designated setting
    • Working with a Site Champion to go through the Healthy Together 5-Step Path to Success, helping to change a site’s environment and policies to support healthy behaviors
    • Connecting Site Champions to healthy eating and active living resources in the community
    • Communicating, training and supporting evaluation activities

Every Healthy Together registered school has a Site Champion to lead their school through the 5-Step Path to Success. The Site Champion is someone who’s at the school daily, and who knows and can help influence the school’s healthy eating and physical activity practices.

The Site Champion is responsible for:

    • Completing the Healthy Together survey each spring with the assistance of their team

    • Bronze Level = Implementation

The Bronze Level is all about making changes in your daily practices and environment. This is done by implementing the 5 priority strategies, which:

      • Takes the first step toward supporting healthy behaviors
      • Makes it easy and natural for kids to make healthy choices

    • Silver Level = Communication

The Silver Level is about communicating with families. It’s important to engage families as you change your daily practices and environment. When you bring families into the conversation, it:

      • Allows them to be advocates
      • Encourages them to role model the same practices at home
      • Increases accountability

    • Gold Level = Policy

The Gold Level is about putting the changes you’ve made into policy. This helps build a healthy environment that will last through the years. Setting a clear district wellness policy can help you:

      • Ensure staff and parents understand the expectations around health and wellness
      • Give staff consistent guidelines to refer to
      • Provide children with a healthy environment

We know it takes a lot of work to make it to any recognition level. Regardless of formal recognition, we think your site is awesome!

McDermott FamilyDHLC is the best! So thankful to never have had to worry about my kids while at work all these years- I always knew (and still know) they are being loved and taken care of every day by Barbara and her staff! It all started with Kim H. holding Ben while he watched me drive off from the office window 8 years ago, and continues today with Jake barreling down the hallway running into whoever’s in the way!

Great management and workplace environment!Love this place. New director in place and really has this learning center rolling in a positive direction. The new manager also comes from a classroom teaching environment and understands the needs of the staff!

    Great Place to Work

I enjoy my boss and co workers

Overall this is a great place to work. this center has great leadership which makes work easy.  Management is awesome. the most enjoyable part of my job is working with the kids.

Great support and wonderful parents here
Center is clean and we can call the office for help anytime. We do luncheon events and get treats from admin and parents frequently. Owners make us feel important. I’m already a lead teacher so I’m not looking for advancement. They require administration classes I believe. The hardest part of my job is following all the state regulations. Hands dry out and crack from washing them so much! You have to be on time and can put in for time off requests.

    Great co-workers

I loved working with the children and the parents were awesome. The job was most enjoyable because I had a great group of children whose parents were always ready to help in anyway.

Preparing for a interview questions: Your 2023 Guide to the Most Common Interview Questions and Answers

20 Tips for Great Job Interviews

From researching the company to handling certain key interview questions, make sure you make a great impression and ace your next job interview by following these 20 tips.

Want to ace your next interview and land that open job you’ve been seeking? Here are 20 tips to help you prepare.

    1. Research the industry and company.
An interviewer may ask how you perceive his company’s position in its industry, who the firm’s competitors are, what its competitive advantages are, and how it should best go forward. For this reason, avoid trying to thoroughly research a dozen different industries. Focus your job search on just a few industries instead.

    2. Clarify your “selling points” and the reasons you want the job.
Prepare to go into every interview with three to five key selling points in mind, such as what makes you the best candidate for the position. Have an example of each selling point prepared (“I have good communication skills. For example, I persuaded an entire group to …”). And be prepared to tell the interviewer why you want that job – including what interests you about it, what rewards it offers that you find valuable, and what abilities it requires that you possess. If an interviewer doesn’t think you’re really, really interested in the job, he or she won’t give you an offer – no matter how good you are!

    3. Anticipate the interviewer’s concerns and reservations.
There are always more candidates for positions than there are openings. So interviewers look for ways to screen people out. Put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself why they might not want to hire you (“I don’t have this,” “I’m not that,” etc.). Then prepare your defense: “I know you may be thinking that I might not be the best fit for this position because [their reservation]. But you should know that [reason the interviewer shouldn’t be overly concerned].”

    4. Prepare for common interview questions.
Every “how to interview” book has a list of a hundred or more “common interview questions.” (You might wonder just how long those interviews are if there are that many common questions!) So how do you prepare? Pick any list and think about which questions you’re most likely to encounter, given your age and status (about to graduate, looking for a summer internship). Then prepare your answers so you won’t have to fumble for them during the actual interview.

    5. Line up your questions for the interviewer.
Come to the interview with some intelligent questions for the interviewer that demonstrate your knowledge of the company as well as your serious intent. Interviewers always ask if you have any questions, and no matter what, you should have one or two ready. If you say, “No, not really,” he or she may conclude that you’re not all that interested in the job or the company. A good all-purpose question is, “If you could design the ideal candidate for this position from the ground up, what would he or she be like?”

If you’re having a series of interviews with the same company, you can use some of your prepared questions with each person you meet (for example, “What do you think is the best thing about working here?” and “What kind of person would you most like to see fill this position?”) Then, try to think of one or two others during each interview itself.

    6. Practice, practice, practice.
It’s one thing to come prepared with a mental answer to a question like, “Why should we hire you?” It’s another challenge entirely to say it out loud in a confident and convincing way. The first time you try it, you’ll sound garbled and confused, no matter how clear your thoughts are in your own mind! Do it another 10 times, and you’ll sound a lot smoother and more articulate.

But you shouldn’t do your practicing when you’re “on stage” with a recruiter; rehearse before you go to the interview. The best way to rehearse? Get two friends and practice interviewing each other in a “round robin”: one person acts as the observer and the “interviewee” gets feedback from both the observer and the “interviewer.” Go for four or five rounds, switching roles as you go. Another idea (but definitely second-best) is to tape record your answer and then play it back to see where you need to improve. Whatever you do, make sure your practice consists of speaking aloud. Rehearsing your answer in your mind won’t cut it.

    7. Score a success in the first five minutes.
Some studies indicate that interviewers make up their minds about candidates in the first five minutes of the interview – and then spend the rest of the interview looking for things to confirm that decision! So what can you do in those five minutes to get through the gate? Come in with energy and enthusiasm, and express your appreciation for the interviewer’s time. (Remember: She may be seeing a lot of other candidates that day and may be tired from the flight in. So bring in that energy!)

Also, start off with a positive comment about the company – something like, “I’ve really been looking forward to this meeting [not “interview”]. I think [the company] is doing great work in [a particular field or project], and I’m really excited by the prospect of being able to contribute.”

    8. Get on the same side as the interviewer.
Many interviewers view job interviews as adversarial: Candidates are going to try to pry an offer out of the interviewer, and the interviewer’s job is to hold onto it. Your job is to transform this “tug of war” into a relationship in which you’re both on the same side. You could say something as simple as, “I’m happy to have the chance to learn more about your company and to let you learn more about me, so we can see if this is going to be a good match or not. I always think that the worst thing that can happen is to be hired into a job that’s wrong for you – then nobody’s happy!”

    9. Be assertive and take responsibility for the interview.
Perhaps out of the effort to be polite, some usually assertive candidates become overly passive during job interviews. But politeness doesn’t equal passivity. An interview is like any other conversation – it’s a dance in which you and a partner move together, both responding to the other. Don’t make the mistake of just sitting there waiting for the interviewer to ask you about that Nobel Prize you won. It’s your responsibility to make sure he walks away knowing your key selling points.

    10. Be ready to handle illegal and inappropriate questions.
Interview questions about your race, age, gender, religion, marital status, and sexual orientation are inappropriate and in many areas illegal. Nevertheless, you may get one or more of them. If you do, you have a couple of options. You can simply answer with a question (“I’m not sure how that’s relevant to my application”), or you can try to answer “the question behind the question”: “I don’t know whether I’ll decide to have children in the near future, but if you’re wondering if I’ll be leaving my job for an extended period of time, I can say that I’m very committed to my career and frankly can’t imagine giving it up.”

    11. Make your selling points clear.
If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound? More important, if you communicate your selling points during a job interview and the interviewer doesn’t get it, did you score? On this question, the answer is clear: No! So don’t bury your selling points in long-winded stories. Instead, tell the interviewer what your selling point is first, then give the example.

    12. Think positive.
No one likes a complainer, so don’t dwell on negative experiences during an interview. Even if the interviewer asks you point blank, “What courses have you liked least?” or “What did you like least about that previous job?” don’t answer the question. Or more specifically, don’t answer it as it’s been asked. Instead, say something like, “Well, actually I’ve found something about all of my classes that I’ve liked. For example, although I found [class] to be very tough, I liked the fact that [positive point about the class]” or “I liked [a previous job] quite a bit, although now I know that I really want to [new job].”

    13. Close on a positive note.
If a salesman came to you and demonstrated his product, then thanked you for your time and walked out the door, what did he do wrong? He didn’t ask you to buy it! If you get to the end of an interview and think you’d really like that job, ask for it! Tell the interviewer that you’d really, really like the job – that you were excited about it before the interview and are even more excited now, and that you’re convinced you’d like to work there. If there are two equally good candidates at the end of the search – you and someone else – the interviewer will think you’re more likely to accept the offer, and thus may be more inclined to make an offer to you.

Even better, take what you’ve learned about yourself from your MyPath career assessment and use it to explain why you think this is the job for you: “I’ve done some careful career self-assessment, and I know that I’m most interested in [one or two of your most important career interest themes], and – correct me if I’m wrong – it seems that this position would allow me to express those interests. I also know that I’m most motivated by [two or three of your most important motivators from your MyPath assessment], and I have the sense that if I do well, I could get those rewards in this position.

Finally, I know that my strongest abilities are [two or three of your strongest abilities from your MyPath assessment], and I see those as being the abilities you most need for this position. ” If you follow this tip, you’ll be (a) asking for the job, (b) explaining why you think it’s a good match, (c) displaying your thoughtfulness and maturity, and (d) further disarming the tug-of-war dynamic that interviewers anticipate. You’ll be making the strongest possible “close” – and that’s worth a lot!

    14. Bring a copy of your resume to every interview.
Have a copy of your resume with you when you go to every interview. If the interviewer has misplaced his or her copy, you’ll save a lot of time (and embarrassment on the interviewer’s part) if you can just pull your extra copy out and hand it over.

    15. Don’t worry about sounding “canned”.
Some people are concerned that if they rehearse their answers, they’ll sound “canned” (or overly polished or glib) during the interview. Don’t worry. If you’re well prepared, you’ll sound smooth and articulate, not canned. And if you’re not so well prepared, the anxiety of the situation will eliminate any “canned” quality.

    16. Make the most of the “Tell me about yourself” question.
Many interviewers begin interviews with this question. So how should you respond? You can go into a story about where you were born, what your parents do, how many brothers and sisters and dogs and cats you have, and that’s okay. But would you rather have the interviewer writing down what kind of dog you have – or why the company should hire you?

Consider responding to this question with something like: “Well, obviously I could tell you about lots of things, and if I’m missing what you want, please let me know. But the three things I think are most important for you to know about me are [your selling points]. I can expand on those a little if you’d like.” Interviewers will always say, “Sure, go ahead.” Then you say, “Well, regarding the first point, [give your example]. And when I was working for [company], I [example of another selling point].” Etc. This strategy enables you to focus the first 10-15 minutes of the interview on all of your key selling points. The “Tell me about yourself” question is a golden opportunity. Don’t miss it!

    17. Speak the right body language.
Dress appropriately, make eye contact, give a firm handshake, have good posture, speak clearly, and don’t wear perfume or cologne! Sometimes interview locations are small rooms that may lack good air circulation. You want the interviewer paying attention to your job qualifications — not passing out because you’ve come in wearing Chanel No. 5 and the candidate before you was doused with Brut, and the two have mixed to form a poisonous gas that results in you not getting an offer!

    18. Be ready for “behavior-based” interviews”.
One of the most common interview styles today is to ask people to describe experiences they have had that demonstrate behaviors that the company thinks are important for a particular position. You might be asked to talk about a time when you made an unpopular decision, displayed a high level of persistence, or made a decision under time pressure and with limited information, for example.

Step 1 is to anticipate the behaviors this hiring manager is likely to be looking for. Step 2 is to identify at least one example of when you demonstrated each behavior. Step 3 is to prepare a story for each example. Many people recommend using SAR (Situation-Action-Result) as a model for the story. Step 4 is to practice telling the story. Also, make sure to review your resume before the interview with this kind of format in mind; this can help you to remember examples of behaviors you may not have anticipated in advance.

    19. Send thank-you notes.
Write a thank-you note after every interview. Type each note on paper or send them by email, depending on the interviewers’ preferences. Customize your notes by referring specifically to what you and the interviewer discussed; for example, “I was particularly excited about [or interested by, or glad to hear] what you said about …” Handwritten notes might be better if you’re thanking a personal contact for helping you in your job search, or if the company you’re interviewing with is based in Europe. Whatever method you choose, notes should be sent within 48 hours of the interview.

To write a good thank-you note, you’ll need to take time after each interview to jot down a few things about what the interviewer said. Also, write down what you could have done better in the interview, and make adjustments before you head off for your next interview.

    20. Don’t give up!
If you’ve had a bad interview for a job that you truly think would be a great fit for you (not just something you want badly), don’t give up! Write a note, send an email, or call the interviewer to let him or her know that you think you did a poor job of communicating why you think this job would be a good match. Reiterate what you have to offer the company, and say that you’d like an opportunity to contribute. Whether this strategy will get you a job offer depends on the company and on you. But one thing’s for sure: If you don’t try, your chances are exactly zero. We’ve seen this approach work on numerous occasions, and we encourage you to give it that last shot.

If you follow the above 20 strategies, you’ll be as prepared as any candidate an interviewer has ever seen. Check out our Open Jobs to start your new career today. Good luck!

The impression you make on the interviewer often can outweigh your actual credentials. Your poise, attitude, basic social skills, and ability to communicate are evaluated along with your experience and education.

You and the interviewer must engage in a conversation – a mutual exchange of information and ideas. Only through such a dialogue can you both determine if you, the organization, and the job are well matched. Preparation is the key.

    Be on time.
This often means 10-15 minutes early. Interviewers often are ready before the appointment.

Know the interviewer’s name, its spelling, and pronunciation.
Use it during the interview. If you don’t know the name, call beforehand and ask the secretary. Also, note the secretary’s name in case you have to call back. Secretaries can influence the hiring decision!

Have some questions of your own prepared in advance.
There is nothing wrong with having a short list of questions and thoughts- it shows you have done your research and want to know more about the organization and the position.

Bring several copies of your resume.
Also, bring a copy of your transcript. Carry your papers in an organized manner.

Have a reliable pen and a small note pad with you.
But do not take notes during the interview. However, immediately afterward, write down as much as you can remember, including your impression of how well you did.

Greet the interviewer with a handshake and a smile.
Remember to maintain eye contact (which does not mean a stare down).

Expect to spend some time developing rapport.
Don’t jump right in and get down to business. Follow the interviewer’s lead.

Don’t be embarrassed if you are nervous.
As you gain experience you’ll become more at ease with the interviewing process.

    Focus.
On your attributes, your transferable skills, and your willingness to learn; don’t apologize for a lack of experience; describe your strengths in terms of what you can do for the organization.

    Tell the truth.
Lies and exaggeration will come back to haunt you.

    Listen carefully to the interviewer.
Be sure you understand the question; if not, ask for clarification, or restate it in your own words. Answer completely and concisely. Stick to the subject at hand.

Never slight a teacher, friend, employer, or your university.
Loyalty ranks high on the employer’s list.

    Watch your grammar.
Employers are interested in candidates who can express themselves properly. Even if you have to go slowly and correct yourself, accuracy is preferred over ungrammatical fluency.

    Be prepared for personal questions.
Some interviewers may not know what they can and cannot ask legally. Anticipate how you will handle such questions without losing your composure.

Wait for the interviewer to mention salary and benefits.
To research pay scales, refer to salary surveys and information on the Career Services website on in the career library.

Don’t expect a job offer at the first interview.
Often you will be invited to a second or even third interview before an offer is made several weeks later.

Close on a positive, enthusiastic note.
Ask what the next step will be. Thank the interviewer for his/her time and express your interest in the job. Leave quickly and courteously with a handshake and a smile.

No interview is complete until you follow up with a thank-you note.
Express your appreciation for the interview and, if true, reaffirm your interest. This last step can make a difference. Don’t forget it.

    Establishing Connection…

    AskNigel

Structure of questions. Interview. Preparing for an interview

Why is preparation important? How to build the logic of the conversation and evaluate the candidate? What to look for when asking questions!

This article is for executives who are not Recruiters or HR professionals. If you would like an in-depth training in interviewing and assessing a candidate, then write to us and we will be happy to help you! Let’s go…

Before calling a person for an interview, you should at least make a phone call with him in order to assess the initial skills, adequacy, interest and sell your company and vacancy. Goal: evaluate and ignite!

    A bit of terminology…
Telephone interview is communication with the candidate by phone (usually up to 15 minutes)
Personal interview is an interview with the candidate in person or via Skype with a more in-depth dialogue about his competencies, about the vacancy itself and companies (duration from 50 minutes)
Motivation – something that encourages a person to perform a particular activity.

    Types of motivation:

    • Money
    • Interesting tasks
    • Personal development
    • Career growth
    • Achievements
    • Stability
    • Social status

Complexes are a set of qualities and abilities for successful executions.

Personal competencies are those competencies whose development largely depends on innate potential and are formed regardless of the type of activity. That is, whatever a person does, he can apply and develop these competencies.

Corporate competencies are most often an indirect reflection of the values and corporate culture adopted in the company. Their evaluation gives an answer to the question “Is this person suitable for the Company, will he be able to work in our team?”.

Professional competencies – reflect the requirements for the position, and therefore the assessment on them gives an answer to the question “Will a person be able to cope with the basic functionality?”.

I always teach Recruiters to stick to the 5 steps of sales, shifting it to the structure of a phone call:

    1. Establishment of contact
    2. Identification of the need (motivation)
    3. Presentation (based on motivation)
    4. Contractions (perhaps these are clarifying issues)
    5. conclusion of the transaction (invitation to interviews)

9000 9000 9000 9000 9000 9000 9000 9000 you understand that the candidate is not suitable, carefully refuse, saying the following: I will send your resume to a colleague who is involved in the recruitment, and if the answer is yes, then we will call you before 18. 00 today, and if we don’t receive a call, then we will not be able to offer this position” Thus, you have outlined the rules for further actions!0003

We offer a checklist for preparing for a telephone interview

    1. Write a welcome part about yourself (name and position / what company do you represent / is the person looking for a job and is it convenient for him to speak)
    2. Know everything about the company (number of years on the market, number of employees, office (location), ratings and benefits)
    3. Know everything about your vacancy (the most delicious tasks, requirements, conditions: salary (amount, white / gray), work schedule , department, team, projects, etc.)
    4. Study resume (work experience, column about yourself)
    5. Prepare questions to identify motivation
    6. Prepare questions to identify competencies
    7. Prepare texts to motivate the candidate to think over1
      900 on them
    8. Make a letter template with an invitation to the mail

The full form with a check and an invitation to an interview can be downloaded from us in the section of free materials Lifehacks.

IMPORTANT! Make notes and maintain a database of candidates (at least in exel), enter contacts, resumes and all the necessary information!

    Structure of the interview
If you understand that the candidate is interesting, then prepare for the meeting in more detail, based on the information you heard over the phone.
Develop extended questions to identify motivation and competencies (Svetlana Ivanova’s book “Assessing a Candidate in an Hour” and a huge number of cases on the Internet will help), we can also teach you how to conduct individual interviews and evaluate candidates at a professional level, write to us and we will happy to help 🙂
Read the resume in more detail, mark the main points that you would like to focus on (education, experience, skills, etc.).

    PERSONAL INTERVIEW SKELETON
    1. Establishing contact (up to 5 minutes)

    • Make yourself feel good
    • Communication on abstract topics (how did you get there, how did the weekend go, are you planning to spend it, how did the holidays go, etc. ) )
    • “Tea, coffee, water?”
    • Check time limits

“Do you have time limits now? Will there be an hour (2-3) for the meeting?”

    2. Main part (35-45 minutes)

    • Introduce yourself (name, position, company) when already in the meeting room

“My name is NAME, I’m POSITION in the company NAME.” if there is another interviewer nearby, we also introduce him. “This is the NAME, he is the head of the department NAME”

    • Indicate the purpose of the interview (for which vacancy you met)

“I remind you that I met with you at the vacancy TITLE.”

    • Set the rules of the meeting

“Communication I propose to proceed as follows. First, tell about yourself, about your professional experience, what you think is necessary. No more than seven minutes. Then I (we) will tell (tell) you about companies, vacancies, and I will answer (answer) your questions.

    • Questions on professional and personal competencies and motivation
    • Exit from the main part. End with clarifications about the candidate’s personality (hobbies, how you prefer to relax, etc.)

“What do you do outside of work? How do you spend your free time? Do you have hobbies? Do you have many friends? Where were you last? Where did you vacation? ”

    3. Completion of the interview

    • Presentation of the company and vacancy (based on the candidate’s motivation!)
    • Ask the candidate for possible questions.

“Perhaps you have any questions? What would be interesting to know? considering the candidacy, we take two working days. For the time you think, we think. Today we have Monday, therefore, the answer, positive or negative, I will give you before Wednesday. Do you prefer calling or mailing? Yes or no, it doesn’t matter, I will definitely let you know”

    • Guide the candidate to the exit

Here is an interview skeleton you can use in your work! Remember that communication should always be lively, the interview is both an analytical and creative process, don’t be a robot and don’t be too windy, don’t lose the thread of the conversation! Each person has his own characteristics, try to make communication comfortable.

How to prepare for an interview: a job seeker’s cheat sheet – Work.ua

The job seeker must understand that the further development of events depends on how he shows himself to the employer at the first meeting. A coveted position can easily slip out of your hands due to the slightest slips.

The first impression you make on a person is the most important. Remember to look the other person straight in the eye, smile, shake hands firmly, and speak confidently. Try to remember the person’s name and if you have the opportunity to use it during the first five minutes of the conversation, do it! This will help you remember it better, and your interlocutor will be flattered.

    1. Analysis of your future position

Write down all the duties and information you know about the position and thoroughly study them (this information can be obtained from the job description). Ask yourself:

    • Do I really understand what is required of the person in this position?
    • What is the purpose of this position?
    • How can these goals be achieved?

If there are aspects of the job that you do not understand, make up questions that you can ask later in the interview.

It is very important to try to analyze this position in order to determine what your personal and professional qualities, your experience confirms that your qualifications correspond to it.

    2. Assess Yourself

Consider the answers to the following questions:

    • What are your strategic career goals?
    • Are they consistent with the objectives of your future position?
    • Why are you interested in this position and this company?
    • Can you prove that you are qualified for this position?
    • What personal and professional qualities make you suitable for this position?
    • Do you really need this job?
    • Why should the company hire you?

    3.

    Research information about the company

You need to collect as much information as possible about the company and its business. This will help you:

    • decide if you want to work in such a company.
    • be prepared for specific questions you may be asked.
    • to impress with knowledge of the company (and this indicates that you are really interested in this position).

      4. Prepare answers to possible questions and rehearse answers with your friends

Use specific examples, numbers, not general phrases!

What your employer expects from you

It’s good to know what a company representative expects to hear when interviewing a job candidate. Your answers will help him decide on your hiring.

Categories of interview questions HR asks:

      • Will this person become an effective representative of our company?
      • Will he look professional and serious?
      • Will he be able to easily contact people, win over clients, make them want to work with us?
      • Can this person do the job? Does he have relevant experience and knowledge?
      • Will I enjoy working with this person?
      • Will he get along with the rest of the staff?
      • How much does he want to get this job?
      • Is he as hardworking as he wants to show now?
      • Will it last long enough for us to be of real use?
      • Is this person capable of taking responsibility for our organization?
      • Can he be an example for other employees?
      • Is this person able to cope with a stressful situation?
      • How would he behave in difficult circumstances?

On the day of the interview

Wishes for clothes for the interview. Wear quality business attire that you feel comfortable in! A strict business suit will not help you if you feel uncomfortable in it. Not in vain! A proverb lives in the people from time immemorial! Meet by clothes, see off by mind! The first impression you make on an employer is very important.

      • Schedule your time to arrive at the company 10-15 minutes before the interview. You will have time to clean up, look around and relax.
A smile and a confident handshake will be a great start to your acquaintance with a company representative.
      • Bring a pen and notepad with you to take notes during the interview and write down the answers to your questions.
      • Ask the interviewer questions (prepared at home) to clarify any unclear aspects of the position.
      • Remember that matters such as salary and other benefits are usually discussed after an official job offer.
      • Show that you want this job. If you get a job offer, welcome it with enthusiasm.
      • Do not try to find out from the interviewer what he thinks of you. This will put him in an awkward position. You can say you want this job and ask what needs to be done to get it.
      • Do not pressure the company representative to make a decision as soon as possible. You should ask the company representative when you can find out about his decision. But don’t try to use “I have other job offers” that irritates the interviewer and suggests that you are not very interested in getting the job.
      • When discussing previous jobs, do not criticize your former boss and colleagues.
      • Do not discuss your personal and financial problems unless you are specifically asked to.
      • Avoid the word “WE”. When you describe what you did at work, say “I”.
      • Don’t be afraid to sell yourself. You don’t have to be aggressive, but you need to convince the company representative that you are the right person for the job.

When the interview comes to an end, it is very important to leave a positive impression of yourself. Thank the interlocutor for his time, say that it was very interesting and pleasant for you to meet him and you hope to meet again, thereby expressing your interest in the work. Shake your partner’s hand firmly and smile as you say goodbye.

      Interview. First Impression

The first impression you make on someone is the most important. Remember to look the other person straight in the eye, smile, shake hands firmly, and speak confidently. Try to remember the person’s name and if you have the opportunity to use it during the first five minutes of the conversation, do it! This will help you remember it better, and your interlocutor will be flattered.

If you are going to an interview or an important meeting, then prepare for them in advance and responsibly. And no matter how nervous you are, try to look confident, like a person who knows what he wants to achieve in life.

      Clothes “For success”

Employers’ opinion polls showed that at the first meeting with a future employee, 70% of them pay attention to clothes, and about 80% emphasized the importance of the style and condition of shoes.

Dress in a classic style and always have clean, polished shoes. If you are in doubt about the choice of clothes, then it is always better to prefer a suit, a plain light-colored shirt and a tie – for men. A suit and a plain blouse are for women.

85% of job seekers are sure that employers choose people who look good in interviews, but this does not mean beautiful people, but people who can take care of themselves and their appearance.

      Sign language

Your behavior says a lot about you before you open your mouth. You need to make sure that your gestures confirm that you are interested, take the job offer seriously and are ready to start it at any moment. Don’t fiddle with your hair, clothes, etc., cross your arms (this creates a subconscious barrier), and sit lounging in a chair instead of sitting up straight. Don’t bring your hand to your mouth or mutter under your breath.
Try to maintain eye contact with your interlocutor.

Clean, shiny and well combed hair always creates the right impression.

We clean and protect the leather interior with our own hands

Leather interior is a distinctive feature of rich car equipment. Leather not only looks beautiful and respectable, but is also quite practical to use: it is much easier to wipe off a drop of ice cream or a spilled drink from it than from fabric or velor. And the traditional cons of the skin – freezing in winter and strong heating in summer – are leveled by heated seats, perforation and ventilation.

However, the leather interior requires regular and methodical maintenance, otherwise the coating will quickly become coarse, crack and lose its appearance. And the restoration and alteration of the skin are not cheap services. Let’s talk about how to properly maintain, clean and protect the leather interior of the car.

Cleaning the leather interior: dry cleaning

Cleaning the leather interior always starts with vacuuming – if you immediately start rubbing with a cloth or brush over the leather, fine grains of sand accumulated in the folds will scratch the surface. Therefore, stock up on a car vacuum cleaner powered by on-board 12 volts – with its help you can clean the cabin even in the yard, without an external source of electricity.

Grains and dust traditionally accumulate at the junction of the seat and back, so when cleaning, be sure to recline the chairs and thoroughly vacuum all hidden places. It is better to remove the headrests of the seats immediately, and dismantle the back of the rear sofa altogether and work with them separately. Pay attention to all folds, seams and creases in the leather covering. Use the soft lint nozzle on your vacuum cleaner to avoid scratching your skin. Especially difficult joints additionally blow with a compressor.

In detailing centers, the seams on the skin are cleaned with small brushes so that not a single grain of sand is lost among the threads. For these purposes, you can use a toothbrush with the softest pile. Don’t forget about the seams on the headrests.

    Leather interior cleaning: wet cleaning

Next, we move on to wet cleaning with the help of a special car cosmetics – leather cleaner, which will not only remove surface dirt, but also clean the pores of the skin. From accessories for cleaning you will need a microfiber cloth and a shoe brush with soft bristles. Rough rags or paper napkins will not work, as they can leave scratches on the skin.

How to choose a leather cleaner? Often, a cleaner and conditioner are combined in one bottle – such products are good for everyday care, but not for deep cleaning. Based on your goals and the availability of time: if you started a general cleaning of the leather interior for several hours, then choose a separate cleaner and conditioner, and not a “2 in 1” product, it will be more effective. And pay attention to the composition of the cleaner: alcohol dries out the skin, and silicone seals the dirt under the film – it is better to do without these components.

It is strictly forbidden to scrub stains from the skin with white spirit, acetone and other strong solvents – you will ruin the coating! For stubborn dirt and stains, use a foam leather cleaner and a brush – even deeply ingrained dirt can be removed with gentle circular motions with due patience.

Most leather cleaners can be applied directly to the surface, but be sure to check the instructions on the label – aerosol cleaners are sometimes recommended to be sprayed onto the brush. If the skin is heavily soiled and greasy, let the cleanser soak in a little (no longer than a minute), and then rub it.

Start cleaning at the top of the chairs and work your way down. Don’t try to clean the entire back or seat at once – work methodically on small areas. For aesthetic pleasure, you can mentally (or actually, using masking tape) divide the chair into two parts and compare them after cleaning the first one – the result will be very visual and motivating.

    Protecting the leather interior: conditioner

After using the cleaner, the leather must be protected with a special composition – leather conditioner or wax cream. Lanolin (an animal wax obtained from sheep’s wool) is absorbed into the skin, moisturizing it and maintaining elasticity. And silicone protects against pollution – the skin stays clean longer and is easier to clean. Also, leather conditioners protect it from ultraviolet radiation, preventing it from fading, drying out and cracking. In general, caring for a leather interior is in many ways similar to caring for a person’s own skin: it also ages and coarsens if you do not use moisturizers and sunscreens.

The conditioner is applied to a foam sponge or clean microfiber, after which the skin is rubbed first horizontally and then vertically. After 10-15 minutes of absorption, the remnants of the product must be polished over the surface. After applying the leather conditioner, let it fully absorb before entering the salon.

All-purpose polishes for leather and plastics can be used daily – for example, after a normal car wash with wet cleaning of the interior. They add shine, but do not moisturize or soften the skin, so they do not replace the conditioner, but only complement it.

How to extend the life of the leather interior

In addition to regular (once every 3 months) cleaning and conditioning, to keep the leather interior in perfect condition, proper maintenance is also necessary. Here are some helpful tips to extend the life of your car leather:

    • Wear upholstery-safe clothing
If you are wearing a leather jacket, be sure to take it off before getting into the car – do not rub leather against leather. Lovers of leather pants and skirts should buy a seat cover, otherwise the leather will quickly rub off. Also avoid clothes with sharp metal elements: plaques, clasps, decorative tags – all of them can damage the skin.
    • Protect your interior from the sun and overheating
The sun and heat are the main enemies of the skin. Avoid excessive heat in the passenger compartment: Park your vehicle in the shade, leave your windows slightly open, and use sunshades when parking for long periods of time.
    • Keep the salon clean on the beach
Any abrasive instantly leaves scratches on the skin. Beach sand is no less of a summer threat to a salon than the sun. On trips to the sea, keep a vacuum cleaner at the ready, shake off clothes and shoes thoroughly.

Regular and proper care of the leather interior will help to keep it in excellent condition for a long time without re-upholstery and restoration. Also read our article on caring for interior fabric elements and self-cleaning a car.

How to care for your face after cleaning?

    Face and body skin care

Facial cleansing is one of the most requested cosmetic procedures. It allows you to tone the skin, remove dead cells, do away with clogged pores, blackheads and acne. But even with the most sparing technique, the face is exposed to intense effects – the skin becomes sensitive and cannot fully protect itself from external factors. In order to recover faster after the procedure and avoid complications, you need to ensure proper home care after facial cleansing.

    When do you need cleaning

The skin is constantly renewed, while many dead cells remain on the surface. With age, under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, due to diseases or genetics, this process can intensify. When there are too many keratinized cells, the face becomes dull, flaky, inflammation occurs more often, and wrinkles become more noticeable. A trip to the beautician can solve all these problems.

Usually the procedure takes place in several sessions and does not cause much discomfort. Already after the first visit, the beautician should give detailed recommendations on how to take care after cleansing the face at home:

    • Do not expose the face to chemical and mechanical influences for the first 24 hours;
    • Postpone sauna, solarium and facial massage until full recovery;
    • Avoid preparations containing alcohol;
    • Use for washing mineral water and decoctions of medicinal herbs: chamomile, St. John’s wort, calendula;
    • Provide intense hydration. Creams with aloe, panthenol, hyaluronic acid and other active hydro-components should be used several times during the day;
    • Make soothing and moisturizing masks.

In addition to the general recommendations, depending on the chosen technique, specific care after facial cleansing may be required.

    Facial care after mechanical cleaning

The method effectively solves the problem of acne and comedones, but it is the most traumatic. The beautician manually cleans problem areas, after steaming and thoroughly cleansing the skin. The treatment ends with a soothing mask.

The main disadvantages of the procedure are the risk of inflammation and scarring. Therefore, facial skin care after mechanical cleaning should be especially thorough. Recovery takes up to 5-7 days. During this period, you should regularly degrease the skin with antiseptic preparations that do not contain alcohol. Soothing compresses can help reduce swelling.

    Acid Peel Care

Cleansing with exfoliants is the main cosmetic trend of recent years. This is the most gentle procedure using high concentration fruit acids. They dissolve dead cells of the stratum corneum and cleanse the pores from the inside – they treat even complex forms of acne and tighten the relief of the face. In addition, dry cleaning helps to cope with photoaging: it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, smoothes wrinkles, and removes pigmentation.

Despite the absence of physical damage, specific facial care after cleansing and peeling is still required. AHA and BHA acids increase sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation – before going out, be sure to apply sunscreens of 30 SPF or more.

    Care after ultrasonic facial cleansing

Another painless and atraumatic technique. Sebum and impurities are removed from the pores using high frequency ultrasonic waves. The skin receives an additional massage and an incentive for self-rejuvenation – small wrinkles are smoothed out, and collagen and elastin are synthesized more actively. The only negative is that due to the shallow effect, the procedure is ineffective for skin with serious problems.

Skin care after ultrasonic cleaning is reduced to the use of neutral pH cleansers, additional cleansing with alcohol-free gels and lotions, and moisturizing with face masks.
