19 – Care Cleaning Residential Cleaning

  • Covid-19 Training: All of our employees are certified in a COVID-19 training program and will follow all of the CDC guidelines in the strictest ways possible. We also keep up-to-date on all new developments and safety precautions and discuss them regularly with our staff.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: We have invested in extra personal protective gear– face masks, gloves, shoe coverings, hand sanitizer– and our cleaning equipment does not travel from house to house without being sanitized. Each house has fresh mopheads, rags, and dusters.
  • “Closed Door Policy” OR “Separate Floor Policy”: Ideally no one is home when your appointment is scheduled. However, if you are not able to leave your home, anyone at home must be behind a “closed door” so that no personal interaction can take place. Separate floor policy means anyone home remains on a separate floor than the cleaner for the entire appointment and when it’s time to swap, they communicate from a safe distance briefly to switch floors.
  • Scheduled Appointment Slots: You will have an hour window for arrival so that you can make any plans to either leave your home or we will help you come up with a plan beforehand to work around one another.
  • Transparency: To our knowledge, no one in our company has been exposed to COVID-19. In order to best adhere to the CDC’s “contact and trace guidelines,” we both expect and promise complete transparency between our company and our clients with respect to COVID-19 exposure.
  • Equipment & Supplies – While we have always been careful to not set equipment on counters & to keep it clean, we have added the additional measure that we will be cleaning the caddies and vacuum bases with disinfectant before and after each home is cleaned.

  • Gloves – Our Team Members have always worn gloves while cleaning and change them as needed.  We also have disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer in our vehicles, so that your cleaning technicians can sanitize their hands between homes as needed, in addition to normal hand washing practices.

  • Sick Policy – We have modified our policies during this time to encourage team members to stay at home, if they exhibit any symptoms of the virus. Since our teams meet at the office each morning, we check temperature of every team member to make sure they are well, and we will send them home if they are not.

*NOTE: We are not currently equipped at this time to clean, sanitize or disinfect any homes or buildings that have positive COVID-19 cases within the last 30 days.

Our main goal and vision during this time is to honor our commitment to provide a fun and safe work environment for our cleaning team members. Likewise, we want to provide a clean, sanitary and peaceful home environment for our clients. To do this, we ask that if any clients have a household member who is exhibiting flu like symptoms, or have been exposed to someone with flu-like symptoms, please notify our office immediately, so we can reschedule cleanings until after they are well.

We clean and protect the leather interior with our own hands

Leather interior is a distinctive feature of rich car equipment. Leather not only looks beautiful and respectable, but is also quite practical to use: it is much easier to wipe off a drop of ice cream or a spilled drink from it than from fabric or velor. And the traditional cons of the skin – freezing in winter and strong heating in summer – are leveled by heated seats, perforation and ventilation.

However, the leather interior requires regular and methodical maintenance, otherwise the coating will quickly become coarse, crack and lose its appearance. And the restoration and alteration of the skin are not cheap services. Let’s talk about how to properly maintain, clean and protect the leather interior of the car.

Cleaning the leather interior: dry cleaning

Cleaning the leather interior always starts with vacuuming – if you immediately start rubbing with a cloth or brush over the leather, fine grains of sand accumulated in the folds will scratch the surface. Therefore, stock up on a car vacuum cleaner powered by on-board 12 volts – with its help you can clean the cabin even in the yard, without an external source of electricity.

Grains and dust traditionally accumulate at the junction of the seat and back, so when cleaning, be sure to recline the chairs and thoroughly vacuum all hidden places. It is better to remove the headrests of the seats immediately, and dismantle the back of the rear sofa altogether and work with them separately. Pay attention to all folds, seams and creases in the leather covering. Use the soft lint nozzle on your vacuum cleaner to avoid scratching your skin. Especially difficult joints additionally blow with a compressor.

In detailing centers, the seams on the skin are cleaned with small brushes so that not a single grain of sand is lost among the threads. For these purposes, you can use a toothbrush with the softest pile. Don’t forget about the seams on the headrests.

Leather interior cleaning: wet cleaning

Next, we move on to wet cleaning with the help of a special car cosmetics – leather cleaner, which will not only remove surface dirt, but also clean the pores of the skin. From accessories for cleaning you will need a microfiber cloth and a shoe brush with soft bristles. Rough rags or paper napkins will not work, as they can leave scratches on the skin.

How to choose a leather cleaner? Often, a cleaner and conditioner are combined in one bottle – such products are good for everyday care, but not for deep cleaning. Based on your goals and the availability of time: if you started a general cleaning of the leather interior for several hours, then choose a separate cleaner and conditioner, and not a “2 in 1” product, it will be more effective. And pay attention to the composition of the cleaner: alcohol dries out the skin, and silicone seals the dirt under the film – it is better to do without these components.

It is strictly forbidden to scrub stains from the skin with white spirit, acetone and other strong solvents – you will ruin the coating! For stubborn dirt and stains, use a foam leather cleaner and a brush – even deeply ingrained dirt can be removed with gentle circular motions with due patience.

Most leather cleaners can be applied directly to the surface, but be sure to check the instructions on the label – aerosol cleaners are sometimes recommended to be sprayed onto the brush. If the skin is heavily soiled and greasy, let the cleanser soak in a little (no longer than a minute), and then rub it.

Start cleaning at the top of the chairs and work your way down. Don’t try to clean the entire back or seat at once – work methodically on small areas. For aesthetic pleasure, you can mentally (or actually, using masking tape) divide the chair into two parts and compare them after cleaning the first one – the result will be very visual and motivating.

Protecting the leather interior: conditioner

After using the cleaner, the leather must be protected with a special composition – leather conditioner or wax cream. Lanolin (an animal wax obtained from sheep’s wool) is absorbed into the skin, moisturizing it and maintaining elasticity. And silicone protects against pollution – the skin stays clean longer and is easier to clean. Also, leather conditioners protect it from ultraviolet radiation, preventing it from fading, drying out and cracking. In general, caring for a leather interior is in many ways similar to caring for a person’s own skin: it also ages and coarsens if you do not use moisturizers and sunscreens.

The conditioner is applied to a foam sponge or clean microfiber, after which the skin is rubbed first horizontally and then vertically. After 10-15 minutes of absorption, the remnants of the product must be polished over the surface. After applying the leather conditioner, let it fully absorb before entering the salon.

All-purpose polishes for leather and plastics can be used daily – for example, after a normal car wash with wet cleaning of the interior. They add shine, but do not moisturize or soften the skin, so they do not replace the conditioner, but only complement it.

How to extend the life of the leather interior

In addition to regular (once every 3 months) cleaning and conditioning, to keep the leather interior in perfect condition, proper maintenance is also necessary. Here are some helpful tips to extend the life of your car leather:

  • Wear upholstery-safe clothing
    If you are wearing a leather jacket, be sure to take it off before getting into the car – do not rub leather against leather. Lovers of leather pants and skirts should buy a seat cover, otherwise the leather will quickly rub off. Also avoid clothes with sharp metal elements: plaques, clasps, decorative tags – all of them can damage the skin.
  • Protect your interior from the sun and overheating
    The sun and heat are the main enemies of the skin. Avoid excessive heat in the passenger compartment: Park your vehicle in the shade, leave your windows slightly open, and use sunshades when parking for long periods of time.
  • Keep the salon clean on the beach
    Any abrasive instantly leaves scratches on the skin. Beach sand is no less of a summer threat to a salon than the sun. On trips to the sea, keep a vacuum cleaner at the ready, shake off clothes and shoes thoroughly.

Regular and proper care of the leather interior will help to keep it in excellent condition for a long time without re-upholstery and restoration. Also read our article on caring for interior fabric elements and self-cleaning a car.

How to care for your face after cleaning?

Face and body skin care

Facial cleansing is one of the most requested cosmetic procedures. It allows you to tone the skin, remove dead cells, do away with clogged pores, blackheads and acne. But even with the most sparing technique, the face is exposed to intense effects – the skin becomes sensitive and cannot fully protect itself from external factors. In order to recover faster after the procedure and avoid complications, you need to ensure proper home care after facial cleansing.

When do you need cleaning

The skin is constantly renewed, while many dead cells remain on the surface. With age, under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, due to diseases or genetics, this process can intensify. When there are too many keratinized cells, the face becomes dull, flaky, inflammation occurs more often, and wrinkles become more noticeable. A trip to the beautician can solve all these problems.

Usually the procedure takes place in several sessions and does not cause much discomfort. Already after the first visit, the beautician should give detailed recommendations on how to take care after cleansing the face at home:

  • Do not expose the face to chemical and mechanical influences for the first 24 hours;
  • Postpone sauna, solarium and facial massage until full recovery;
  • Avoid preparations containing alcohol;
  • Use for washing mineral water and decoctions of medicinal herbs: chamomile, St. John’s wort, calendula;
  • Provide intense hydration. Creams with aloe, panthenol, hyaluronic acid and other active hydro-components should be used several times during the day;
  • Make soothing and moisturizing masks.

In addition to the general recommendations, depending on the chosen technique, specific care after facial cleansing may be required.

Facial care after mechanical cleaning

The method effectively solves the problem of acne and comedones, but it is the most traumatic. The beautician manually cleans problem areas, after steaming and thoroughly cleansing the skin. The treatment ends with a soothing mask.

The main disadvantages of the procedure are the risk of inflammation and scarring. Therefore, facial skin care after mechanical cleaning should be especially thorough. Recovery takes up to 5-7 days. During this period, you should regularly degrease the skin with antiseptic preparations that do not contain alcohol. Soothing compresses can help reduce swelling.

Acid Peel Care

Cleansing with exfoliants is the main cosmetic trend of recent years. This is the most gentle procedure using high concentration fruit acids. They dissolve dead cells of the stratum corneum and cleanse the pores from the inside – they treat even complex forms of acne and tighten the relief of the face. In addition, dry cleaning helps to cope with photoaging: it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, smoothes wrinkles, and removes pigmentation.

Despite the absence of physical damage, specific facial care after cleansing and peeling is still required. AHA and BHA acids increase sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation – before going out, be sure to apply sunscreens of 30 SPF or more.

Care after ultrasonic facial cleansing

Another painless and atraumatic technique. Sebum and impurities are removed from the pores using high frequency ultrasonic waves. The skin receives an additional massage and an incentive for self-rejuvenation – small wrinkles are smoothed out, and collagen and elastin are synthesized more actively. The only negative is that due to the shallow effect, the procedure is ineffective for skin with serious problems.

Skin care after ultrasonic cleaning is reduced to the use of neutral pH cleansers, additional cleansing with alcohol-free gels and lotions, and moisturizing with face masks.
