  • KinderCare at Arnold is different from most centers due to the
relationship we have with the community. We have been here for
over 30 years and have built strong relationships throughout that
time. Many of our teachers have been with the center for many
years, and we have several families that have been with us for 10
plus years and have multiple children in the center. They’re truly
like an extension of our own families as we are theirs. Our love
for children, as well as the safety and healthy learning
environment we provide, are what make us stand out.
  • We have a key code secured entry, with codes only given out to
parents when they enroll so that they may then enter the classrooms
to pick up their children. In addition, someone is always in the
office, and teachers are not permitted to let anyone in the
classroom without the Center Director’s authorization. We also have
    name-to-face checks every 30 minutes.
  • Hours Of Operation: 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, M-F
  • Languages Spoken: Spanish
  • State of Maryland Subsidies, and NACCRRA

Neighborhood: Venice

Venice has always lived at its own pace, being the center of Los Angeles’ bohemian culture. Along the beach promenade, there are street performers and local artisans selling their products. Original paintings, souvenirs and jewelry are exhibited here. Passers-by stop to admire the unique works, weightlifters work out on outdoor beach simulators, skateboarders hone their tricks in a special skating park. And all this – under the hot Californian sun, against the backdrop of a beautiful seascape with an endless sandy beach. The main streets in the eastern part of the district – Abbott Kinney Boulevard and Main Street – are full of boutiques, several retail stores, art galleries and restaurants. The local atmosphere is more relaxed and prestigious compared to the bustle that reigns on the coast. Much of the area is great for walking and cycling, with many interesting places to discover. nine0003

Cult place

To the left of the famous pier is the beautiful Muscle Beach. But it is famous not for a wide sandy strip, but for the fact that various sports grounds are equipped right on the beach. Americans cultivate sports, so everything is done here for those who want to keep fit. Well, those who are lazy can just stare)))

I wanted to feel the place that Schwarzenegger constantly mentioned in his books and documentaries. The place where his future fame was forged. In general, nothing special (my wife did not understand what the trick was) – but I managed to capture the right atmosphere -and even experience a certain delight from touching the legend. Outdoor gym at a price of 10 dollars. a day. There are horizontal bars and bars nearby, a sandy beach closer to the ocean – it was quite hot and it turned out to swim. I didn’t see real bodybuilders, but people did it to the best of their ability. In such a place, you really want to be athletic and pumped up. nine0003

    Second courses like in kindergarten

Recipes from meat, poultry, fish, offal as in kindergarten according to technological maps for preschool institutions

Fish baked in an omelette like in a kindergarten – a dish that is absolutely predictable in taste.

I would never have thought that rabbit meatballs like in kindergarten can be so tender and juicy!

Fish patties with vegetables baked like in kindergarten – quite an interesting dish.

Delicious, hearty and healthy chopped chicken fillet with scrambled eggs and vegetables, cooked like in a kindergarten, the whole family will like it.

Fish dishes must be present on the menu of both children and adults.

If you want to treat your family with Stroganoff cookies cooked in the same way as in kindergarten, then you will need to follow the technology of creating this dish, because it is prepared without frying.

Quite early in the diet of children begin to introduce fish. It is prepared in different ways, including in the form of cutlets.

Kindergarten meals are very often on my home menu.

Pleased the family with another dish according to kindergarten recipes – beef patties like in kindergarten.

Another recipe for kindergarten food. It’s simple: a minimum of ingredients, the result pleased everyone.

Kindergarten recipes are different from our daily meals. Here you will not find any special aromas and bright tastes.

Kneli – a dish very similar in composition to meatballs – the same round shape, the same rice in the composition and just as tasty, so let’s make and try!

Zrazy are not simple meatballs, these are meatballs with a surprise – another way to attract the child’s attention and, I hope, the desire to try it out.

Another variant of a meat dish that diversifies the menu of your little child.

For some reason, it always seemed to me that it took me half a day to make dumplings.

Pirozhki is a food that both adults and children love. But today’s version is for the little ones.

Shanezhka with potatoes is a variant of savory pastry that takes a tasty and worthy place in the kindergarten week menu.

Today we will have a gastronomic journey on a kindergarten scale.

Pancakes from the liver – one of the options for the “right” dinner for preschoolers.

Your preschooler loves potatoes and doesn’t refuse meat?! So, this kindergarten recipe will definitely please him.

The game is a game, but lunch is on schedule. Today, the “Menu of the Week” will teach you how to cook hedgehogs with stewed cabbage.

Sauteed Liver – Juicy and airy, similar to a whipped soufflé recipe. And despite the specific smell of offal, it occupies a leading position in the kindergarten menu.

Today we have kindergarten-like gravy with boiled potatoes and those same pickle slices on the menu.

Fish meatballs are almost the favorite food of preschool children. Children with an enviable appetite gobble up soft, very juicy and fragrant “balls” and, as a rule, ask for supplements.

Soups like in kindergarten: recipes with photos

Soup recipes like in kindergarten according to technological maps for preschool institutions

Sauerkraut soup like in kindergarten is recommended for older children.

Adding another great soup to my kindergarten recipe box. Bean dishes are always hearty and healthy, and green peas, moreover, not only cook quickly, but also please with their beautiful green color.

After a year, the children’s menu expands significantly and one of the first dishes that are introduced into the diet of babies is puree soups.

Soup-puree from zucchini, like in kindergarten, turns out to be very tender, calm, pleasant to the taste.

Vegetarian borsch mashed like in kindergarten – a simple and good soup for the whole family, especially if you have small children.

Spinach soup with sour cream like in a kindergarten – with a slight sourness, dietary, with a fresh taste.

This light vegetable soup is perfect for both children and adults who are tired of heavy meals.

Kindergarten-style vegetable soup that will appeal to both children and adults.

Children’s menu – the most useful and safe, both for kids and adults.

Milk soups start to be included in children’s diet very early. They are mainly made with cereals or pasta, but vegetable dairy products are much less common, but they are wonderful.

Like all kindergarten soups, the one below is neither complex nor full of ingredients or seasonings.

Once I made it, I was very imbued with this version of kharcho children’s soup.

Another recipe for a gentle, pleasant soup, which is fed to our and not only our children in kindergarten.

I present to your attention beetroot with meat, which is also suitable for diet food.

Very gentle, calm, pleasant soup for the little ones. Personally, I, too, will never refuse it – such food is to my taste – easy, low-calorie and tasty.

Shchi is one of the most popular soups. I love it with beef.

Soup-puree for children is a kind of magic wand, because there are a lot of vegetables, and it is perfect for the age when there are not particularly teeth yet.

PCHS offers a huge amount of flexibility—not being…PCHS also has great people. Unique students, attracted by PCHS’ flexibility, bring diversity. The student body includes athletes, artists, and entrepreneurs. In addition to the student population,…Since PCHS is primarily online-based, the school’s campus space is very limited. There is a lack of extracurricular classes, activities, and clubs, and it would be nice to see more effort to increase.

    “I like being at home.

“Conform to international culture and experience the American way of life.”

Orange County identifies itself by the name of the county rather than by a major city. There is no defined urban center in Orange County (A.K.A. “O.C.”), and it is almost uniformly suburban. It is a famous tourist destination and is home to attractions such as Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm; There are sandy beaches for swimming and surfing, marinas for sailing and pleasure boats, as well as extensive parkland and open space for golf, tennis, hiking, kayaking, cycling, skateboarding and other recreational activities. nature. O.S. is also the hub of the Southern California Tech Coast, where Irvine is the main business hub.

“My experience was informative and so much fun!”

“I really recommend this school. Nice experience!”

Since its creation in 2008, AELS has made every effort to find the most effective educational methods with the goal of teaching local American English. As a result of these efforts, AELS has developed an educational system that incorporates its own educational philosophy.
The differentiated education system that AELS offers is based on effective and diverse educational content developed in-house with careful supervision of academic achievement, immediate academic performance feedback, in-depth local culture/life experience activities, quality education, and teaching management to maintain passionate and friendly class sessions.
The goal is to maximize the development of practical conversational English skills in a short period of time by way of a small number of class members taught by 100% native speakers. AELS has refrained from the existing language school system in order to improve the students’ effective conversational skills. We are also centered on maintaining an average of 5-6 students in each class and a maximum of 8 students in each class. This is because conversation-oriented classes that require active participation and provide immediate feedback from English teachers can maximize learning efficiency. In addition, the affordable tuition at AELS provides a reasonable and economical choice for students, as compared to other academic institutions operating classes of medium and large sizes.
AELS has a proven ESL program that has earned accreditation from the Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA), a professional certification agency for English education in the United States.
Brea is a great place to study as well as to experience the warm, mild climate and the lifestyle of Southern California. You can enjoy the beautiful, high-income neighborhoods and the crime-free nature of the city. There are also a variety of local attractions, including Disneyland and the nearby city of Los Angeles.
For valuable, efficient, and exciting US language training, AELS will be the best option. We are ready to help you with all aspects of your English language program, from the language school application and F-1 visa acquisition to navigating local life. If you have any plans to study English now or in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us.
—Starting Dates: 1st Monday of Every Month
Students may start classes on the 1st Monday of any month; however, to officially earn credit towards completion of a level, a student must enroll in the entire quarter (12 weeks).
—Ending Dates: March, June, September, December
Regardless of the number of months that students register, their end date must coincide with the quarter schedule. Our ESL program’s end dates are in March, June, September, and December. Students who want to apply for 3 months but do not begin the course on the first start date will need to enroll and finish the following quarter as well. For example, students who want to apply for 3 months, but begin the course in February of the 1st quarter, will need to enroll and finish the 2nd quarter as well. nine0005

    “Good experience!”

    “Good experience, although one week”

Thousands of students come to California each year to study English, but very few discover the authentic experience. The California Academy of Languages was founded on the idea that language is alive. It must be experienced in order to be fully appreciated and understood. We believe that language learning is achieved through hands-on, real-world practice.
At California Academy of Languages, we strive to get to know every person that walks through our doors and go out of our way to create a warm and personalized classroom experience. That’s what makes us different! Students may also enjoy participating in extracurricular activities so they can continue to learn and apply their skills.
We are an intimate, student-centered, ACCET-accredited, SEVP-approved language school with two locations in Southern California. The surrounding area is home to great neighborhoods and we make sure to select only the most caring families to ensure every student is fully immersed in life and benefits from an authentic community.
We look forward to personally welcoming you to our fun and unique California Language Academy family! nine0005

    Children’s House Montessori

    School of Reston

Children’s House Montessori School of Reston (CHMS) is a small, family-oriented school located in a peaceful wooded setting in Reston, Virginia. We believe that a child’s first school experience should be filled with curiosity, exploration and opportunities for  independence. We offer half-day and full-day Montessori programs for children 3 years of age through kindergarten.

Our school year runs from August to June. We are closed periodically for holidays and seasonal breaks and operate a 6 week summer program for enrolled students.

We are located in Reston, Virginia, in the lower level of 1625 Wiehle Avenue at the intersection of Fairway Drive.

Do you have space for the coming school year?

Please call us at 703-481-6678 for our current availability.

What’s the main difference between Montessori and a traditional preschool?
Do you provide snack and lunch?

Depending on the program selected, parents are responsible for sending in up to two snacks and lunch. All children have an opportunity to eat their  morning snack and children who stay later will need lunch and an afternoon snack. Children will eat their afternoon snack before the 3:00 dismissal time.

My child has stopped napping. Do they still have to nap?

We are licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and follow their guidelines regarding a rest period for children under the age of five. Children in our preschool age group rest together in the early afternoon and our pre-kindergarten children rest in a separate space. Children do not have to fall asleep, but they must stay with their group for the duration of the rest period. For more details, please call us at 703-481-6678 to discuss your child’s needs.

Do you have a 2 or 3 day program?

No, our program is five days a week. If your child needs an adjustment period of two or three days a week to build up to a full school week, please contact us at 703-481-6678 and we will be happy to discuss a transition plan that works for your family.

Does my child have to be completely potty trained to attend?

We ask that children be toilet trained prior to their start date,  however we understand that this expectation can cause added stress for both parent and child. Please talk to us about your child’s current potty training status during your tour. At a minimum we do not allow children to attend CHMS in diapers or pull-ups as we do not have diapering stations in place. We are happy to escort children to the restroom and assist as needed, but expect that the toilet training process is already underway and going well before a child joins our community.

Are you a nut-free facility? How do you deal with food allergies?

We are unable to guarantee a nut-free space at this time. Our landlord, the Unitarian Universalist Church in Reston, uses our space for Sunday school classes and other weekend events, and we can not control what foods are brought in during that time. If your child has food allergies, please talk to us about their needs during your tour.

Do you have a diverse student body?

Children’s House Montessori School does not discriminate on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, religion, gender, disability, or sexual orientation. We embrace the diversity we experience in our school, from both the staff and the student body, and welcome families from all backgrounds into our community.

    Are your teachers Montessori certified?

Children’s House Montessori School of Reston is licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services and is a full affiliate member school of the American Montessori Society (AMS).

All lead teachers are AMS certified and bring years of training, teaching, and experience to their classrooms. We maintain a ratio of one teacher to every ten students.

    What Our Families are Saying

I highly recommend Children’s House Montessori School of Reston! The teachers are kind and supportive to each child, truly encouraging each to their strengths.

All the teachers are very kind, sweet, and patient to the children. Our child loves it there and looks forward to going every day.

My son felt safe and loved at CHMS and that was so obviously apparent in the way he blossomed and developed during his time at the school.

Kindergartens and cafes will stop working in Syktyvkar

    Komsomolskaya Pravda

planned work on water supply networks and in this regard, from 8 a.m. on July 7 to 10 a.m. on July 8, there will be no cold water in the city. However, the water supply will be fully restored only by 16:00 Thursday, so the city will be without water for quite a long time. This, of course, will cause inconvenience to the townspeople. For example, cafes, bars and restaurants will not work. They simply have nowhere to take water for cooking. Although there are rare exceptions. One of the restaurants in the city, as well as summer cafes “subordinate” to it, want to stock up on water in advance and work as usual.

Clubs of the city will also have a kind of day off: they are also considered catering establishments and they are forbidden to work without water supply.

Parents whose children go to kindergartens will have to look for where to place their kids for two days: preschool institutions will be closed on July 7 and 8. will not be cancelled. The hospital has established water supply according to a special schedule, and doctors and patients are not threatened with a complete shutdown of water. The Republican Children’s Hospital does not have such a schedule, so water will be brought to the medical facility from the Gorvodokanal. Perhaps, due to the emergency situation, some city patients will even be discharged.

Now there are a lot of applicants in the city, it’s time to enter universities. As assistant to the rector of SyktGU for public relations Galina Dobrynina said, the university canteen is no longer working as planned, water will not be required there. But the employees of the administration of the university received relief – their working hours were reduced. But the selection committee will continue to work full time, but in two shifts, they will have enough water supplies. The situation is the same in the pedagogical institute. By the way, according to KP, for many office workers, on July 7, management will either shorten the working day or completely let employees go home.

    Recent Review:

Our son was 4 years old when he started Pre-k at the Learning Cottage Daycare. He settled in quite well, the learning cottage has provided us with the capacity for our son to refine and build on whatevereducational materials he was already taught at home. We sincerely have no complaints about our experience with the learning cottage, if there was such a thing as 10 star we would give it. The care and service they offered was exceptional, leaving our son in their care was worry free it made us felt as though our son was staying with a family member, someone who loves and adore him. Mr. Fahad and his team is indeed doing an exceptional job of taking care of our children, our children who are our future. Thanks….

Stefan is great. Would definitely hire him again and again!

    Saida O.

Saida did a great job watching my daughter and niece to allow us a night out. Even with some driving in snow required, she was punctual and listened and carried out requests for care well. Great communication and instantly seemed comfortable with our girls. Would highly recommend!

    Tatyana H.

Tatyana was very sweet and caring with our 13 month old son. I really appreciated the pictures she sent of him while we were gone. Would definitely hire again!

    Madison H.

Madison was a treasure! As a single parent, it can be tough to find someone who is reliable, trustworthy and easy to work with- that was Madison! My child had so much fun with her and always looked forward to seeing her. Madison is the best!

    – Janna W.

    Tiarra H.

We hired Tiarra for FT infant care M-F. She was friendly, genuine, on time, and did everything we asked her to. My infant son warmed up to her instantly. She worked with us for 2 days. Everything seemed to be going well until she got sick. Upon which time she stated she could not continue workingfor us because we could not pay her while out sick. We are not a business like a daycare and cannot afford to pay someone for work not rendered. 98% of my husband’s paycheck was already going towards paying her. We hired her to help make our lives easier, not more complicated. Despite me trying to be very clear about pay, there seemed to still be miscommunications about what was agreed upon. We agreed upon $15/hr. I wrote down $15/hr, but somehow that translated to $16/hr in her mind. The care she provided for my son was phenomenal, but ultimately her financial situation got in the way of what could’ve been a great arrangement….

As of 2023, you can browse caregivers that specialize in a range of duties, from overnight and infant care, to weekend and after school babysitters. Alongside keeping an eye on your children, caregivers can provide a variety of babysitting duties. They can help with homework or can possibly take on more extensive tutoring responsibilities, can drive your children to school or activities, and can spend time playing with them or helping them get their chores done. When you interview potential sitters, ask them what babysitting duties they are happy to take on.

How to Find a Great Babysitter (and What to Pay Them)

    Where to start

    Personal recommendations

Arguably, the best place to start is with a personal recommendation, says Leah Clarkson, cofounder of NannyTrack. Ask friends, family members, coworkers and your postnatal yoga pals which sitters they’ve used and liked, and you’re already on the right track for weeding out those who wouldn’t work. Of course, just because someone recommended a sitter to you doesn’t mean they’re the right one for your family. For example, you might feel nervous about a 14-year-old caring for your preemie. So ask lots of questions about the potential sitter before you even call to scope them out. And don’t feel pressured to hire someone just because they were recommended by your mother-in-law.

    Organizations you trust

Moms on The Bump message boards say they often hire their babies’ day care teachers or the people who care for the kids during services at their places of worship. Why? Well, a lot of the time those organizations do background checks and require specific training, such as infant CPR. (Of course, you’ll want to ask the organization to be sure.) And your child already knows those people, so it can be a smooth transition when you head out for date night.

    Sitter websites and agencies

If you’re still not finding someone who’ll work, you might want to check out a sitter website such as Care.com or Sittercity.com. These sites connect parents to sitters, giving you the ability to browse online profiles to find potential picks. They also provide information about possible sitters, including specific experience such as having worked with special-needs children. Many of them also do basic background checks, if you’d like to have one performed. If you want to choose from a carefully vetted pool of sitters, another option is to hire a local nanny agency to do the legwork for you.

How to know they’d be a good sitter

Once you’ve found a few possible sitters, you’ll want to interview them to see who’s the best fit for your family’s needs. Check out our list of  questions to ask a caregiver, which will help you figure out what to ask. During the interview (and after), look for these signs that a sitter would be a good hire:

    They have good references
This is your child’s safety we’re talking about — it’s okay to be paranoid. So, yes, you should ask the sitter for references, says Clarkson. And actually call the references to see what feedback they have about the person and how good of a job they’ve done in the past.

    They have training
“Anyone who has qualifications and knowledge about CPR and first aid — that’s a bonus for a part-time sitter,” Clarkson says. After all, you want baby to be in the safest hands possible if there’s an emergency. So what if they don’t know anything about CPR or first aid? You might want to suggest the sitter take a class or two — even better, pay for the classes yourself or offer a slightly higher hourly rate if they take them.

    They show up on time
“If somebody’s not on time, I think that’s a really big first sign that something’s wrong,” Clarkson says. Obviously, the last thing you want to do on date night is wait around for the sitter. But the lateness could also be a sign of irresponsibility or lack of interest.

They interact well with your kid
Some parents hire a babysitter after a short interview and maybe a brief meet and greet with baby, but if you have even a teeny bit of uncertainty, it’s worth the peace of mind to ask the sitter to do an “observation session.” This means having them over for a short sitting session, which you partially observe and are partially absent during (go run a quick errand). And yes, you should pay them for this, maybe their hourly wage or a large percentage of it (see info on pay rates below).

With an observation session, “the kids get used to the new person, and the babysitter also gets used to the kids and can ask you questions,” says Clarkson. While you’re there, see how well the sitter interacts with your kid. They should reach out to the child and seem engaged and at ease with them. This is where mom intuition comes in — trust your instincts.

    The kid likes them
After the session, ask your child (if they’re old enough) how they felt about the sitter, since they should feel comfortable in the care. Of course, asking, “Do you like the sitter?” might not elicit an honest response. Instead, “Ask them questions about what happened, like, ‘What books did you read with Mary’ or ‘What did you and Mary decide to play?’” Clarkson says. This will give you insight into how the sitter will spend time with your kids.

    What to pay them

Once you find the right sitter, you’ll need to figure out the right pay. Clarkson says the typical rate for a sitter can be about $10 to $15 an hour ($10 for a student and $15 for a highly experienced sitter or nanny), but prices vary based on your location, the sitter’s experience and, of course, your personal finances. We recommend using Care.com’s Babysitter Calculator Here’s a sampling of what some moms decided to pay:

“We pay a college student $10 per hour and a high school student $7 per hour.— jennicap, Connecticut

“We’ve used a 16-year-old sitter a couple of times from about 6 p.m. to midnight and have paid her $50 each time…$50 would’ve been more than enough to keep me coming back to babysit when I was in high school!” — mrs_rodney, Wisconsin

“I pay my 15-year-old $5 an hour and nonfamily babysitters $9 an hour.” — gimmietimmies, Alberta, Canada

“I’m paying a friend of mine (who has a college degree) $10 an hour to watch my daughter.” — mooshagirl, Las Vegas

“I would pay a casual sitter probably $10 an hour.” — murfygirl, Southern California

“We pay a college student $7.50 an hour and an adult (such as my daughter’s regular, daytime babysitter) $8. That seems to be the going rate here.” — meg1974, Florida

“We paid a high school student $10 an hour this summer to watch my daughter a few hours a week and gave a little extra on top.” — SrhA1984, Madison, Wisconsin

“It depends on the age and experience of the sitter, the distance she’s traveling and whether baby will be awake or asleep. We usually pay $10 per hour in suburban Chicago, rounded up to the nearest $10.” — Ainslie325, Chicago area

“We pay $7 for one kid, $10 for two kids. I think that we somewhat overpay our sitter, but it’s worth it because she always makes herself available.” — gracier, Minneapolis area

“We pay $10 per hour for our 18-year-old sitter. We paid $12 per hour for a 23-year-old sitter and $15 per hour for a 28-year-old nanny. I pay $7 to $8 per hour for our younger teenage sitters (they’re 14 and 15).” — hikerbeth, Colorado

“$12 per hour for one kid. The sitter is a college student, 19 I think.” — happ17, New York

“Our nanny is $15 per hour. This is typically who sits for us when we go out.” — peeper72, San Francisco

“$10 to $15 is normal for here in eastern North Carolina. For a brand-new baby, I would pay $15.” — brennarobbie, North Carolina

“I pay the 14-year-old who watches my daughter on occasion $10 per hour, but usually I only have her watch her for an hour or two. I think you should pay at least your state’s minimum wage, and remember, you get what you pay for.” –– missmuffin87, Hudson, Massachusetts

“We have a college student babysitter, and we give her $10 an hour. Sometimes we’ll round up too.” —rnbeth577, Orlando, Florida

You’ll probably want to discuss typical local rates with other parents in your area. (Check out The Bump Local Boards to chat with moms near you.) Once you figure out an average rate range, Clarkson says to talk to the sitter about what they expect. “Then you can negotiate from there,” she explains. Keep in mind that if you have more than one child, or require the sitter to do extra duties (like cooking dinner), they’ll likely expect higher pay.

    What to prep for them

    The ground rules
Before your sitter starts, be sure she knows your expectations, so everyone’s on the same page from the start. Popular ground rules include no guests in your home, no calling or texting friends on the job (there are, of course, reasonable exceptions) and no taking the kids away from home without your permission.

    The routine
Make sure your sitter knows your child’s routine, especially if she’ll be putting him to bed. Clarkson says it’s a good idea to have the sitter drop by one evening to observe the routine, but if you don’t have time for that, set aside time for a walk-through before you leave home. Make sure the sitter knows when and how your baby is used to things being done, and where important items, like extra pacifiers and clean pajamas, are.

    Food and a ride
Also, depending on the time your sitter works, Clarkson says parents should provide food and some sort of transportation home. When it comes to meals, she says you should either “leave money for them to order food or stock something for them to eat, like frozen pizza.” As for transportation, Clarkson says that unless the sitter has a car or lives around the corner, you should provide an extra $20 so they can pay for a cab ride home. Or plan to drive them home yourself.

    Emergency numbers
At the very least, the sitter should definitely have your and your partner’s cell phone numbers, and know where you’ll be, in case of emergency. Fill out this  emergency information checklist and set it out for her so she has all the important contacts all in one place. Now go enjoy a night out!

David Copperfield – biography, personal life, photo, news, illusionist, tricks, now, exposure, show 2023

    Biography

American illusionist and hypnotist David Copperfield managed to convince hundreds of thousands of people that magic is real. The eminent hoaxer became popular after the release of his author’s TV show on the big screens.

    Childhood and youth

On September 16, 1956, the owner of a clothing store, Hyman Kotkin, and his wife, insurance agent Rebecca, a native of Jerusalem, had a son, who was named David. The Jewish family lived in Metachen, New Jersey. From childhood, the boy was attracted by everything mystical and mysterious. As the illusionist himself recalled, his grandfather had a great influence on his future, who, in between studying the Torah and memorizing the psalms, entertained his grandson with card tricks. nine0005

At the age of 7, a boy who had mastered the technique of card fraud to perfection, performed in front of the parishioners of the local synagogue with a mini-show and received a standing ovation from the audience present at the performance. During his school years, David continued to hone his mastery of illusion, preferring to develop new tricks and tricks over classes. At the age of 12, the young magician joined the American Society of Magicians, becoming its youngest member.

At the same age, he came across the British television series Joan Craft “The Life of David Copperfield” – a film adaptation of the work of Charles Dickens, after watching which the future popular hypnotist decided on a stage name. Having received a certificate of secondary education, David entered Fordham University, which he never managed to graduate from. nine0005

In 1974, an active guy got one of the main roles in the musical “The Magician” and, preferring creative self-realization to a diploma, left the educational institution.

In 1978, Copperfield moved from the stage to television: an ambitious young man hosted the ABC Magic program, in 1979 he played a minor role in the film Terror Train, and in the early eighties he released the author’s program The Magic of David Copperfield . During the filming of the series, David decided by all means to realize his long-standing idea with the creation of large-scale illusions. nine0005

    Magic and tricks

David was assisted in all his stunts by his dedicated team of over 300 people. In the 1990s, when Copperfield was giving 50 performances a month, huge trucks loaded with his props crossed borders with special passes without inspection to keep the illusionist’s secrets. As David’s popularity grew, the scale of the illusions he showed to the public also increased. In 1983, a magician made the Statue of Liberty disappear for a few minutes. nine0005

People who saw this trick assumed that the image on the radar was an imitation, and that the spectators who watched and admired the trick were actors. Timur Abdulov from Russia, when exposing the stunt, explained that the audience was real, and the montage was only an empty pedestal of the Statue of Liberty taken from a helicopter. The rest was achieved by simply turning off the lights around the sculpture. To prevent the statue from being seen, the spotlights on which the curtain was fixed were directed towards the audience present at the show. nine0005

Another such trick was the disappearance of the Orient Express dining car. David threatened to repeat the trick with the Eiffel Tower, but this never happened.

In 1984, the artist’s creative biography was replenished with one more trick. That year he flew over the Grand Canyon in Arizona. After a test flight, levitation became an integral part of the magician’s ideas. It is noteworthy that on stage Copperfield flew through rotating hoops and flew into a glass cube from time to time, indirectly proving that the matter was in magic, and not in the ropes on which the illusionist was allegedly held. nine0005

Nevertheless, skeptics believed that the illusionist was suspended from a special crane using special thin cables with a diameter of less than 1 mm. Such mounts can withstand up to 100 kg, and they cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Another trick by David Copperfield – passing through the Great Wall of China (1986). A special tent was set up near the wall, into which the magician entered. On the walls of the tent for spectators outside, movements were projected in the form of shadows, allegedly created by the conjurer himself until he entered the wall. During the disappearance, David was hiding in a special secret compartment at the bottom of the tent. nine0005

David Copperfield – the disappearance of the Statue of Liberty

When moving the structure to the other side, the exact same trick with shadows was done. As a result, David, who had been in a specially prepared hiding place all this time, had only to crawl out of the bottom and out of the tent in front of the astonished audience, forcing them to believe in a miracle that had happened.

It is worth noting that not all performances in which Copperfield played with death ended successfully. So, in 1984, at the rehearsal of the “Escape from Death” trick, the hypnotist was chained and placed in a container of water. David got tangled in the chains and choked. The illusionist was pulled out of the water only after 1 minute 20 seconds. In the hospital, it turned out that the artist was not freed from imprisonment due to the fact that he pulled the tendons of his arms and legs. nine0005

The magician’s performances were not limited to television and rare large-scale projects in public, David actively toured around the world. In the 1990s, he also visited Russia. The audience remembered for a long time his “Dreams and Nightmares”, shown in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

After his magician’s career peaked and his name became less common in the press, Copperfield continued to perform in the holiday city of Las Vegas.

    Other projects

In March 2017, David appeared on Bravo TV’s Top Chef Masters. As an invited expert, Copperfield assessed the culinary masterpieces prepared by the project participants. nine0005

In addition to attending television shows, film screenings and exhibitions, the wizard continued to do charity work. One such project is the Healing Magic program, which helps people with disabilities develop manual dexterity.

David Copperfield Cafe opened in New York in the mid-2000s. The “chip” of the institution was the lack of service personnel. The ordered dishes materialized in front of the visitors right out of thin air. The cafe was famous for its warm atmosphere and brought income to the illusionist. Later, the artist expanded the business to several establishments. nine0005

Another of David’s projects, which gives visitors a lot of impressions, is the International Museum of Illusions, which, among other things, has a huge library of unique thematic literature.

    Personal life

Despite the efforts of the master of disguise not to make his personal life public, crafty journalists always managed to find out the most juicy and scandalous details about the magician’s communication with representatives of the weaker half of humanity. At one time, an affair with a blonde German fashion model Claudia Schiffer made a lot of noise. The whole world has been discussing a love story for a couple of years. nine0005

Claudia and David’s relationship began at a time when Copperfield’s popularity ratings were in decline. The PR manager of the artist Wendy Leyster, in order to return the client to the front pages of printed publications, signed a contract with the PR service of the supermodel. The essence of the agreement was that Schiffer, for a fee of $ 250,000, would play the role of Copperfield’s bride, and the illusionist, in addition to the annual payment of the agreed amount, would regularly give gifts (jewelry, flowers) to his “beloved” as a bonus, which are also necessary put on display. nine0005

The only thing the charming blonde couldn’t do in this pseudo-relationship was to show herself in public with other men. Celebrities began “dating” in 1993, and in 1997, a copy of the contract was published on the pages of the French magazine Paris Match. David said that the document was fake, and filed a lawsuit against the publication, and the model chose to remain silent. As a result, the “romantic fuse” of the stars lasted another two years, after which the couple broke up.

David dated models Terry Holladay for a short time (since 1999 to 2000), Ambre Friske (from 2000 to 2002), Merili Journa (from 2002 to 2004) and Maria Petlichkova (2005).

Since 2006, designer Chloe Gosselin has become the artist’s common-law wife. With a charming Frenchwoman Copperfield met at a fashion show. In 2010, the chosen one gave birth to David’s daughter, whom happy parents named Sky, and in 2012 the family moved from the bustling city to the island owned by the illusionist. At some point, a wave of rumors arose that Copperfield had two more children, but the magician himself did not confirm this information. nine0005

Photos and news, through which the illusionist communicates with fans, he posts on his Facebook page, pictures of the magician’s family are available on his wife’s Instagram account.

    Scandals

In social networks, the artist wrote that he supports the #MeToo movement, despite the fact that women have repeatedly accused him of inappropriate behavior. The first high-profile scandal on this topic arose in 2007. The victim even sued the star, but the case was closed when it turned out that she filed another lawsuit against another wealthy businessman. nine0005

Another similar accusation was widely covered by the press in 2017, model Britney Lewis acted as the victim, while the woman claimed that she was under the influence of sleeping pills and did not exactly remember the very fact of the harassment.

    David Copperfield now

Copperfield’s world of magic continues to captivate viewers around the world. The scope that the artist’s work has reached is difficult to compare with the activities of other contemporaries in the same field.

In September 2021, the illusionist presented a new book on the Talkshoplive platform called David Copperfield’s History of Magic. The most active viewers got a chance to purchase the edition with the author’s autograph. nine0005

    My core beliefs:
1 Every child is a miracle and born with their own talents.
2 Children always have the right to express themselves
3 Children learn through experiences and relationships
Sharon Shim has been in the child care industry for 8 years. Her main experience is with infants and young toddlers. She got childcare units along with infants and toddlers units at Cal. State University of Long Beach. She believes in low child to teacher ratio so that the children get the support and care they need met. As a teacher who is trained at child care centers she will continue that in her home day care by having curriculums/lesson plans to help flow how the days will go and might look like but she will also go by what the children wants and interests are as well….

    Recent Review:

My 14 month old son has been with Sharon since August 2021. He has always stayed with her happily. Now that he expresses more he runs towards her which I see as a sign that she cares for him and is kind tohim. Initially we got an email with pictures and a report of diapers, food, naps and other miscellaneous. The emails are something that we look forward to reading at the end of the day. Now she sends us the report via Tadpole app. If I have any questions email is always a good place to communicate. Also, text for a quick question is prompt. During pick up and drop off you can expect to be informed of anything that may need immediate attention. On one occasion my son had a somewhat high temperature and Sharon was very comforting and understanding while working with me; a new mom. He always comes home clean and his belongings are in order. If I had another baby I would definitely bring him to Sharon she has earned my trust being consistent with her care and always available for any inquiry.
I work as a school psychologist and I can see that Sharon is knowledgeable of child development practices. She has toys that are developmentally appropriate, she reads to the kids, and introduces them to fun activities. My son loves the ball pit and the books with sounds.
During Covid pandemic she has kept the group manageable. There has never been a case in her daycare. I believe we all do our best to stay healthy. The day care is clean and safe….

90,000 San Pedro, republic of prisoners. In the center of the Bolivian city of La Paz, there is the only prison in the world that has not been visited by a guard

    Asha Miles, Nadia Pyankova

    September 16, 2016, 11:05

    Texts

Photographers Asha Miles and Nadia Pyankova visited the prison San Pedro, a self-governing commune of convicts to whom the Bolivian authorities assigned an entire block in the center of La Paz.

San Pedro Prison has no administration in the usual sense of the word, and therefore no accurate statistics are kept on the institution. It is known that between 1,300 and 1,500 people are being held here, approximately 75% of them are just awaiting trial. 80% were here on charges related to drug trafficking. Cocaine is produced almost openly on the territory and there are two kindergartens – about 200 children live here with their prisoner fathers. Photographers Asha Miles and Nadia Pyankova talk about a prison utopia (or dystopia) that has taken place in the heart of the 1. 5 million Bolivian city of La Paz. nine0003

“The first impression when you get to San Pedro is quite unexpected: children are running around, vendors are preparing freshly squeezed juices, grilled chicken is spinning in the ovens, and most of the prisoners are just relaxing, playing billiards, chess, cards or checkers. There is a gym, a hairdresser, a swimming pool, a temple and a kindergarten. Judging by the impressive size of the remains of the Christmas tree, holidays are also celebrated in prison on a grand scale. If it were not for the high walls around the perimeter, nothing would have reminded of at least some kind of restriction of freedom. San Pedro today is the only closed city prison in the world.” nine0003

“From the outside, the prison is no different from a small urban area. It is located right in the center of the highlands of La Paz, in a fortress built back in 1895. The guards only guard the borders, you will not meet them inside. At first glance, this is just one of the slums of the city, life in which is not so different from what is happening outside the walls.

“Most of the prisoners are serving sentences here for “not particularly serious”, and many are only awaiting trial. You won’t find anyone convicted of murder here, but theft and drug sales are all around.” nine0003

“The square of the prison covers an area of just over one hectare. The territory is intended for 400 prisoners, but in reality there are at least 1,500 people here. There are no cameras inside: ordinary buildings, courtyards and narrow streets. San Pedro is almost entirely self-governing.”

“The prison is divided into eight sectors, each sector has its own name and its leaders, who form a common prison council.”

“The authorities hardly intervene in the internal order, so one can say that democracy formally reigns in San Pedro. Of course, with a caveat to corruption and local authorities.” nine0003

“Sectors differ in prestige, each has its own football team. Matches are taken more than seriously, you can also earn on football bets. According to rumors, the monthly turnover [of prison bookmakers] reaches $20,000.”

“Surprisingly, the prisoners here have to pay for their maintenance themselves. Depending on financial capabilities, they can choose certain conditions for themselves. Someone lives in “one-room cells”, but the majority still prefer cheaper housing – common rooms with many beds. nine0003

“Relatives have the opportunity not only to visit prisoners, but even the whole family to move to prison for a while, because housing here is cheaper than in the city. There is a lot of talk about what this turns out to be for the children here. On the one hand, it is easier for criminals to “learn bad things”, on the other hand, in the city such children [from dysfunctional families] also turn out to be outcasts. Bolivians consider having children in prison the lesser of two evils.”

“There was a huge scandal here in 2013 when a 13-year-old girl became pregnant after being raped by a group of men, one of whom was her father. The prisoners themselves say that rapists in San Pedro are being taken tough measures, because so many live with their families.” nine0003

“The complete absence of cells and ‘the jailer’s work as an exercise in tyranny’ (Foucault’s expression) makes San Pedro one of the most humane prisons in the world. Another thing is how such freedom can turn around. For example, the 2003 book by ex-prisoner Rusty Young “The Marching Powder” forever linked the name of San Pedro to the illegal sale of cocaine. Bolivia today is one of the leaders in the cocaine market, and in prison, according to rumors, you can buy the drug at the lowest prices.” nine0003

“Until 2009, tourists could visit San Pedro as part of excursions, but the authorities decided to stop this – it is easy to guess that it was often not cultural interest that brought foreigners to prison. What is happening now in the prison cocaine factory is hard to say.”

“Once Coca-Cola was the official beverage distributor for the prison. Today, plastic tables and chairs with corporate symbols remain from the former cooperation, which adds to the resort surroundings of the prison. As you know, in 2012, Bolivia abandoned such Americans as Coca-Cola and McDonald’s. nine0003

“We were surprised to hear Russian speech:

    – Girls, are you Russian? a voice with a barely perceptible accent called out to us.

This is how we met Freddy, a Bolivian who is serving time for a paper scam. Freddie has a Russian-speaking wife. According to Freddie, he was convicted by mistake – he did not know that the papers were out of order. In general, he likes prison. He denies the presence inside of something like “life according to concepts” or some kind of hazing; says they try not to forget about human dignity. Freddie told us that this is not the first time he sees Russians in prison – earlier a prisoner who got here for drug smuggling served his sentence here. nine0003

My children and I absolutely love this place. The staff is beyond helpful and accommodating. My children were on the waiting list for this center for close to a year, and it was worth EVERY DAY we waited. They are always smiling and making cute crafts after school. The teachers are always engaged with them and having fun. I refuse to take my children elsewhere. This center is worth every dime!

This may be just a day care to some, my three-year-old has been learning. She is very stubborn and does not like writing when we practice at home, but one weekend I went to practice with her and she could write an A. It is very refreshing to know that what I am teaching at home is being reinforced and shows the level of care and experience that their staff has.

My daughter goes to the Sunshine House. I am very wary of having people watch her because she has special needs. I’ve always felt safe and secure knowing she is very well taken care of each day. From day one, the entire staff has taken careful precautions with my daughter and has learned how to properly care for her. I couldn’t ask for better. The teachers and staff really feel like family!

Our daughters attend the Sunshine House and they love it. The teachers are wonderful and attentive to our children’s needs. The directors have been nothing short of supportive and amazing with our children. We absolutely love our center and love the fact that our children are excited to go each day.

    Meet Our Director, Fran Bartlett

Hi! My name is Fran Bartlett, and I am the director of The Sunshine House in Summerville. I have been with The Sunshine House since 1992. I was a teacher with every age group until becoming a director in 1999.

I married my high school sweetheart, John, 25 years ago, and we have two wonderful boys, Cody and Kobe. We also have a Weimaraner, Tinsel.

Caring for and nurturing children is all I am wired to do. It is my passion. I attended Trident Technical College in Charleston in 2010 and graduated with honors in applied science and early childhood education.

I love reading and spending lots of time at the beach. Living on the coast is the best!
