What could be improved

The attitude of the management towards the staff, sometimes you work like a powder keg. Food for the workers is very poor, for a student it may be fine, but if you bring it with you, then there will be nowhere to warm. You can earn if you work hard from opening to closing, five days a week; sometimes you get tired even for an eight-hour shift and the miniburger you ate with potatoes and a drink does not add any energy. In principle, the job is suitable for students or just as a temporary part-time option while you are looking for a main job.

employee reviews about the employer, job reviews

Well, I’ll start from the beginning.
I have been working in trade for many years, more than 16 years and really loved this business !! I really loved people, communicate with them, help, cheer up, make buying a real holiday and pleasure, given that I have been working in trade since I was 14, then I can confidently say that I can sell. For about 9-10 years I was the head of stores and I know the system of many trade directions from the inside, but when I got to Burger King, my mind was simply turned out!! Let’s start with the fact that an employee in this company, no matter how much they talk about personnel, is an empty place. For the company, you are always at fault, you are always bad, you are always the scapegoat!! If, God forbid, you still know how to think independently and your opinion differs from the general one, then expect that from now on you are the main instigator and brawler for everyone, you can forget about freedom of speech, if you do not express a common opinion, then you are shit!
All politics in the company resembles a sect, especially with regard to the composition of the management team. All the employees seem to have blinders on, like on horses, so that they can see only one direction, and the view to the side is generally closed. Everything in the company is always “good”, everything is “the best”, even if the conditions are inadequate, if all the restaurants are equipped with outdated equipment, the electricity supply does not stand up to criticism, the operation of the maintenance service causes pain in the heart, and the appearance of the furniture for guests creates the feeling of a railway station reefer – but we are still the best! The company is tearing off restaurant after restaurant, resembling a spreading virus, but at the same time, the state of already open restaurants is simply emergency!!! The attitude towards employees from the friendly countries of the former USSR is generally amazing – people work for 100 rubles per hour, and for a 10-hour working day, sometimes in the most difficult conditions, they don’t even have the opportunity to just sit. In winter, it can be cold in restaurants, and in summer it can be so hot that the temperature in the kitchen reaches 43, because they can’t coordinate the filling of freon into the air conditioner in any way !!

Separately, I would like to note the attitude of visitors to the employees of the BC – since you are on the other side of the counter, they will immediately start looking at you as third-class people !! The city of Krasnogorsk is especially famous for this!! They will be rude to you, at King Auto (ordering from the street through a headset) you may be offered to suck, say that you are shit and a loser, and that you must take your tongue and get out of his sirloin zones. The youth in Krasnogorsk is especially famous for this. Even if you are as cheerful and kind as possible, you will joke with the guests, they will laugh at you, and then they will roll up a complaint that you behaved frivolously !! At the same time, they can pour obscenities on you from head to toe. And no one will stand up for you.
Employment in the company is a quest! You will be issued only through a staffing company, a million different cards will be created for you, that you will not even be able to properly understand how much you were paid. You can forget about sick leave and vacation pay, it will be pointless to apply to Burger, since you are officially employed in a staffing company, so the court will not help you.

If you are brought into the company by Burger King as a manager and director, then get ready – you will have no more days off!!! You will be paid only for 8 hours, and you will work in a restaurant 12-15, working groups do not shut up for 24 hours, and you are obliged to answer everything, read everything and be aware of everything and do not care that you are sleeping or lying with a temperature 39,2!! You must be there!! You will be paid for 8 hours, and you will steal 24 hours!! I have never seen this in any company.

BC also likes to get ideas and business plans for free! You may be asked to write a business plan for expanding your restaurant, with a complete miscalculation just because you get promoted!! Or sketch out a marketing idea with a full analysis and calculation, and they will study it, maybe they will take it into service, but they won’t even say thanks to you !! This is intellectual property and it costs money!!!

The situation with marketing promotions is very sad!! They constantly release new codes and coupons in order to reduce the price as much as possible and attract traffic, and then you will be scolded every day for a small average check!!! Often there will be promotions that you will learn about not from the office, but from the guests! And you will be put before the fact.

Alas, but I have to admit to myself that these are the worst year and a half in my life, if it were not for the guys with whom I work and for whom I am hurt and offended, I would have sent this network to hell a long time ago!

In summary, I can immediately give instructions to the newly arrived adherents of Burger King sexta:

For BW
– obscure employment company
– incomprehensible RFP, a lot of cards, on which money will come on different dates
– unpaid sick leave and vacation pay, even if you have insurance, if you are a citizen of the CIS
– payment according to a gray scheme, since you may not be credited with a salary, but simply transferred from card to card, so you can forget about 2 personal income tax

For AUP
– 12-15 hour working day, from which 8
will be paid
– 24 hours you are on the phone, forget about privacy
– You will not be double charged on public holidays
– you will never have days off for the holidays
– In your workplace, something will break every day and you will always be guilty
– You will not be allowed to express your opinion if it does not meet company
standards
– You will perform the work of a manager, cashier, assembler, cook and cleaner if it suddenly seems that you have too much cost for a B&W restaurant.

About the Provider

Description: Childtime’s educational philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach, named after the Italian city and the surrounding villages where the method took root after World War II. Central to this philosophy is the belief that secure relationships with responsive and respectful adults provide the basis for all learning. With these relationships in place, children develop a capacity for trust, competence and independence that helps them grow as students and people. Our The Empowered Child? curriculum strengthens children’s emerging physical, social-emotional, cognitive and language skills, to prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond. We do this with developmentally appropriate experiences, wondrous classroom spaces and responsive teacher-child relationships.

I want to express my gratitude to the Talisman company and all its employees!

My son has been studying at Talisman for 2 years now and we have never regretted the decision to cooperate with the company. During this time, the child went 2 times to the “Study Abroad” program in Ireland.

He was trained in the city Talismania and 2 times rested in the visiting Talismania. Passed 2 Cambridge exams – KET and PET, in a year we plan to pass the FCE exam.

I’m writing and I’m surprised how many interesting things have happened over these 2 years, the child’s motivation to learn English has strengthened, he has become much more confident in speaking English, his son has made new friends and, most importantly, he has a DREAM to become an international journalist, in which The talisman will surely help us.

From September we will again go to study English, to our branch on Uritskogo, 7, where we will meet with our beloved teacher Olga Vasilievna Korepanova and already native managers Evgenia and Ekaterina.

                See you, Talisman!
                nine0003

                Matvey

Once again I was convinced how important it is for learning to be a joy, for the child to ask himself: “When are we going to the Talisman?!” We do dance and hockey, so the load is decent, and calm English classes in a peer group are perceived as relaxation. Especially since new friends have already appeared. For now, the number of words doesn’t even matter to me, it’s enough that interest in the English language is maintained and Matvey learns independently, and even responsibly. He does his homework himself, without me. In this regard, Matvey’s classes at Talisman are a good addition to kindergarten and an excellent tool for preparing for school.

I have been studying at Talisman for 5 years. During these 5 years, my life has changed dramatically thanks to the Talisman. I met a huge number of new and interesting people, from peers to adults, from students to senior teachers. I made a huge leap in language, and looking at my weight, you know that I have not made many huge leaps in my life. I came to Talisman with a frail A2, and now I have a B2. Learning a language in Talisman is always very exciting, interesting and productive, all the staff are polite, but this is not courtesy on duty, like a flight attendant in a business class, but really pleasant communication, they always strive to solve any problem or question that they have been contacted with as soon as possible . I also repeatedly passed international exams. Of course, everything is organized at the highest level and qualified level. All the achievements of the talisman and his teachers are evidenced by international certificates that are available in every center – this is the highest level of quality! Thank you for everything!

                Alisa Kabakova

I have been going to Talisman for 5 years, at first I was very afraid and thought that it would be difficult for me, but the training turned out to be so interesting and informative that every year I began to love this place more and more, here I found new friends, my level English became higher and better, I got to know each teacher, I also acquired the ability to find a common language with everyone, the ability to work in a group, I became much more confident in myself.

Each lesson brings me so much benefit, I always learn something new, we play, they tell us a lot of interesting material, reveal the secrets of the English language, learn words, write various tests, sometimes we have holidays where we sing songs, complete assignments which allow us to unite, learn how to work together, after class I always leave with a good mood.

Every vacation I go to the Talismania camp, this is an amazing place, here I met very good people with whom I still communicate at the moment, we have no time to be bored in the camp, we are always busy with something, every day we prepare for evening festivals, some tests, we are given master classes, quests, competitions, we play, which allows us to get to know each other better every day, after each shift I remember everything that we had in the camp for a long time.

Talisman has become for me a native place that I want to return to over and over again, I’m glad that I turned out to be a part of this wonderful society, I will continue my education further.

And we are grateful to TALISMAN for the fact that, thanks to the project, our specialists have mastered many very important practical skills that have significantly increased the efficiency of their work, their professional level. The project with TALISMAN turned out like this: we, being in the process of live communication with foreign clients, already clearly understood what exactly we needed literally today and tomorrow. And the specialists of the linguistic center were able to professionally understand all the intricacies of our “kitchen” and offer effective tools necessary at all stages of cooperation with our foreign clients.

Ferronordic, official dealer of Volvo Construction Equipment

During the training, the network of linguistic centers TALISMAN proved to be a reliable training provider providing a high quality service and highly professional teachers! Classes are conducted according to an individual program with a maximum focus on the needs of the listener in the use of the language.

The teacher takes into account the priority topics and situations in work and daily communication in the language, focusing on them. Each lesson is structured in such a way that time and the material being studied are used rationally; at the end of each lesson, the listener learns and learns to use the material that is relevant to him.

The classes use modern materials that are not limited to the textbook, but include additional resources.

The training was carried out at a high level, according to the previously approved training program, with proper quality and on time. At the same time, during the training, our wishes were taken into account as much as possible, modern teaching materials were used. During the training period, there was significant progress in learning the language of the company’s employees.

We would like to note the individual approach to each of the listeners of the group, the interesting presentation of the material, the use of a large amount of audio and video materials. Due to the heavy workload at work, the students were forced to change the schedule of classes and the teacher always responded flexibly to the request!

We thank the Talisman team for organizing training on our territory, for a quality service and a team-building component in training.

I have been going to the talisman for more than 7 years, with a break of several years. It all started with the last classes of school and English, and now after the university I start learning Spanish. The teacher, unlike the school ones, is more qualified. What else I liked – our teacher is from a country where the language being studied is the main one. They do not try to speak Russian with you – they immediately communicate with you in the target language, which speeds up learning and helps you get used to the language.

All in all – I’m glad I found the Talisman. And I’m sure I won’t drop it any time soon.

                Olya

I came from a small town in the Sverdlovsk region, my blue dream was to connect my life with languages. I came to Talisman, and we immediately began to improve pronunciation and train exam skills, the main problem was my accent, and thanks to the lesson with a native speaker, I was able to pass the USE with 100 points and enter Moscow, at Moscow State University! Thank you Talisman!!

Daughter aged 14 passed the next International Cambridge exam and confirmed level B2! Hooray! He continues his studies, ahead of a new height – level C1 :). Thanks to the teachers at the branch on Iyulskaya, professionals who are able to “infect” the English language not for a moment, but for many years! Strong teaching staff. If you want your child to really know the language and be able to communicate, then Talisman is for you. Recommend.

                Arina, Miss Yekaterinburg-2018

It is very important for me to cooperate with a company whose reputation I can trust. Talisman has been working in our city for 27 years. This speaks volumes! In addition, when I collected opinions, there was not a single negative review either about the training program or about the company’s specialists. I have long dreamed of learning a language so that I can communicate freely when traveling abroad. Now I have an initial level of language proficiency, but I am not afraid of difficulties, I am ready to work intensively. And you give such an opportunity!
                nine0003

                Alexey Fedorchenko, director

English is an opportunity, and I understood this very well, and how could I not be mistaken in choosing a school! Thanks to the Talisman, I improved my knowledge so much that I began to travel to film festivals and get acquainted with Hollywood actors, understanding them calmly. And all this thanks to good English) The talisman is an opportunity, go boldly and you will not regret it.

                Harry Agadzhanian, opera baritone

Thanks to the Talisman, I not only improved my language level, but also began to travel to other countries much more calmly (because the language barrier finally began to disappear), but also to sing arias with confident British pronunciation. Thank you, Talisman, for your teachers and your approach.

                Shishkin family

My husband and I came to Talisman a couple of years ago for a starter course. Just when the Uralmash 1 branch was opened at a new address. I am a music teacher and a violinist, my husband is a tattoo artist, I finished my studies at the Interm level, passed the Key, then he left, since there was already a lot of work abroad – he is in great demand there, just an artist from God. And I also passed B1, being 6 months pregnant. Now I am on maternity leave, but I really want to pass the exam and enter the Linguistics. Talisman – became a place where my husband and I discovered new horizons and began to fulfill our dreams.

Program Manager Requirements

There are many paths you can take to become a Program Manager. Below is a list of qualifications, training, and a description of the skills they typically possess.

Education

To become a program manager, you must have at least a bachelor’s degree. While many program leaders have a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or a Master’s degree, some of them are pursuing degrees in areas they want to work in. For example, those who plan to work in information technology may choose a degree in information systems or computer science.

Advanced training

Many program managers begin their careers as project managers because the transition from managing individual projects to overseeing multiple projects within a program is a natural step. However, program managers can enroll in training courses to expand their knowledge in this area. You can choose from a variety of online instructor-led courses available, such as:

Learning Tree International

This program offers a comprehensive instructor-led program management course that lasts four days. The course covers a variety of topics, including business case development, program management best practices, stakeholder management, and program roadmap implementation.

Federal Purchasing Institute

This organization offers a variety of courses for entry-level, intermediate and senior level candidates. Some of the senior courses include topics such as “Progressive Concepts in Program Management Education” and “Progressive Contracting Strategies for Programs”. Entry level requirements vary. For example, some candidates may require four years of program or project management experience to gain access to a course.

Program Management Institute (PMI)

In addition to various project management training courses, PMI also offers the PMI Talent Triangle course, which aims to equip candidates with the additional skills they need to navigate the complex program management space. These include technical, strategic, leadership and digital skills.

Certificates

Program Managers can complete their qualifications with the following:

  • Program Management Institute (PMI): PMI offers a professional certification for program managers called the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification. This certification shows that you are an experienced professional with the ability to manage complex programs.

  • Federal Program and Project Manager Certification (FAC-P/PM): This certification demonstrates that candidates possess the core functional and technical competencies required to manage projects and programs.

Skills

Although some program managers have management experience, many companies prefer candidates with extensive project management experience. Because project managers know how to manage individual projects, they are better equipped to handle the complexity of managing multiple parallel projects. Other skills that program managers need include:

  • Strong Leadership: The program manager must be an effective leader in order to manage and motivate multiple project managers and teams.

  • Financial knowledge: one of the most important aspects of program management is managing the program budget.

  • Excellent communication: program managers work with people all the time, whether it’s senior management, accounting, project managers or project team members. They need to communicate effectively with a wide range of different people.

  • Organization. To successfully manage multiple projects and teams, a program manager needs excellent organization and planning skills.

  • Strategic Skills: The program manager must continually align program objectives with organizational goals and strategies. In addition, program managers must continually formulate plans to keep programs within scope, budget, and time constraints, which also requires strategic thinking.

Program Manager Work Environment

The Program Manager Work Environment typically includes the following:

  • Program management is usually a full-time job Monday through Friday. However, there may be times when emergencies such as staff shortages or technical problems may require the program manager to visit project sites at night or on weekends to implement contingency plans.

  • These professionals work in a wide variety of industries and business sectors, including engineering and construction, healthcare, law and technology.

  • A typical program manager’s work environment includes spending time in the office and visiting project sites and clients.

  • The work is interesting because each program includes several projects, disciplines and team members.

  • This is a dynamic and stressful job, so people who choose this career must be able to handle the stress and pressure.

How to become a program manager

Most program managers start their careers as project managers. Here are a few steps you might want to consider if you want to become a program manager:

1. Deliver consistently.

If you are working towards becoming a program manager, you will need to show that you are a reliable and effective leader by consistently delivering projects within scope, budget, and expected timelines.

2. Upgrade your skills.

You will increase your chances of promotion by completing your qualifications with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Project Management (MPM) degree. Because you will need program management experience before you can apply for the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification, earn your Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in the meantime.

3. Show what you can do.

The best way to get promoted to program manager is to show management that you have the skills for the job. You will need to show that you can effectively delegate tasks and that you know how to work with and manage teams.

4. Act like a program leader.

If you are looking to move into program management from your current position, you are most likely managing large and complex projects with the help of junior project managers and project coordinators. If so, treat the project like a program, structuring your helpers’ work as subprojects. You should also keep the company’s goals and strategies in mind when making decisions about your project and pay attention to this when talking to management. This goal-directed behavior will increase your chances of getting a program manager position.

Example Program Manager Job Description

Our company is looking for an experienced Program Manager to lead and coordinate programs. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic guidance to project leaders and teams to ensure project and program goals align with company strategies.

You will also control program budgets and resource allocation and should be able to work with a wide range of professionals across disciplines. In addition, our ideal candidate will develop new strategies and be responsible for writing programmatic funding proposals. To qualify for this role, you will need at least a bachelor’s degree and three years of program management experience.

How public transport fares work in practice / Sudo Null IT News

Good day. In this article, we will consider the operation of the cashless public transport fare system from Sberbank. We check everything on the Irkutsk transport.

If you haven’t read the first article, I recommend that you read it first. Saturday 15 April was magical for me. It was on this day that I noticed a working terminal on bus 67. It made me happy. Maybe, of course, the payment was launched earlier, because the last time I traveled on “advanced” transport was on Wednesday.

And now the moment of truth has come. I take out my contactless bank card, go to the front door and ask the driver: “Can I pay with a card?”. To which I get the answer: “Yes. Do you have a card with WI-FI? A little unexpected. As I said in a previous article, many people associate the contactless payment icon with WI-FI. Of course, one could say: “I don’t have a WI-FI card, but I have a contactless one.” But I, without becoming to dedicate the driver to the technical details, corny answered: “Yes.”

Terminal

The driver turned the terminal towards me, pressed the green button, I attached the card. Not even a second went by before the check arrived. I tried to take the check. But the device did not cut it. Therefore, quite a lot of paper was squandered, for which I received a portion of obscenities from the driver and he himself tore off the check.

Check

The difference in the time of arrival of E-Mail and the time of receipt printing was a minute. I thought that most likely the mail server was just late, and the operations are going Online. But let’s not jump to conclusions.

In the evening I came across the coveted second tram, on the doors of which there were stickers we all know. It is interesting that there are different posters in Trams and Trolleybuses than in buses. The price is also indicated when paying by card, which does not differ from paying in cash.

Tram design

The conductor in the tram walks with two devices: with a terminal and with a device for printing ordinary tickets. Showing the conductor the card, she was delighted to press the green button, and I attached the card. Everything went just as fast. This time the check was torn off by the conductor, but the brand of the terminal was the same, and most likely, it also does not cut paper. I received my ticket with the phrase “Here, you see how fast.” Smiled. Indeed, paying with a card is much faster than suffering with change.

Checks

You can also notice that the checks are different from the “store” ones. These checks indicate the type of transport and its route. But instead of the Sberbank logo, the inscription “Ticket” flaunts here.

Checking the E-Mail, I noticed that the letter arrived already 4 minutes late. It’s no longer a delay. This really confirms that the operations take place offline. Also, if you enter your personal account on the Sberbank website, you can see that it is not the time of payment that is recorded there, but the time when it arrived at the bank.

Unfortunately, Sberbank does not write the type of transport in your account. But on the other hand, it is displayed in Yandex.Money. At the same time, the tram and bus have different MCCs. By Tram: 4111 Commuter Transport, Ferries And the bus is already like this: 4131 Bus Lines [Bus lines]. Well, of course, the tram is more like an electric train. Although most likely the terminals were simply set up by various organizations responsible for electricity and vehicles in Irkutsk.

Of course, there are also things that it is desirable to fix:

  • Make sure that the bus terminals hang closer to the passenger, and not in the driver’s cab.
  • It is desirable, of course, that the terminal be always turned with the screen towards the passenger, and not towards the driver. A turned away terminal is associated with the fact that it does not work.
  • It is not very convenient to make an automatic cutting of a receipt, tearing off a receipt for each passenger is not very convenient.

RX: INFORMATION INJECTION
Raven spread its wings thanks to the Internet

Today it is difficult to find an organization that would not use the Internet, from small businesses timidly knocking on the doors of the global user community, and ending with multinational corporations linking their scattered offices around the world into a single network. However, many network administrators are faced with the fact that creating a path from corporate LANs to the Internet is a confusing and intractable puzzle. nine0003

Establishing a connection to the Internet requires network administrators to have a deep understanding of how to communicate with wide area networks, including dial-up connections, leased lines and circuits. In addition, they should have an understanding of Internet addressing methods and router configuration, as well as an alternative such as e-mail. Important are the issues of ensuring the security of the network and information.

LESSON 1: THE HISTORY OF THE INTERNET

The difficulties in communicating over the Internet are rooted in the concept of the network adopted in 1968 year. The first network, called ARPAnet, was based on two fundamental principles that have influenced all subsequent development of computer communications:

  • A physical network is not 100% reliable.
  • Common computer communication language shall not depend on any
specific brand of hardware or software.

The first principle resulted in the TCP/IP protocol being efficient enough to communicate over analog telephone lines, packet radio, satellite links, and Ethernet and Token Ring networks. Thanks to vendor independence and the resounding success of the first network, TCP/IP eventually became available on virtually any computer platform from IBM mainframes to Compaq PCs (Houston). In addition to basic Internet applications such as file transfer and remote login, numerous Internet browsing and searching tools have emerged. Indeed, the recent explosion of interest in the web has been spurred on by the advent of a new generation of applications such as Mosaic, which allows viewing hypertext documents containing images, video, or sound. nine0003

WHO ARE THE SUPPLIERS?

Once you’ve defined your application suite, you’ll need to select an ISP. Although the needs of organizations vary widely, a few general points will help you make the best choice.

First, the provider’s regional proximity is a huge advantage. If you need 24/7 support, choose someone whose staff is always available to answer your questions over the phone. In addition, for most users, competitive pricing is paramount. Table 1 shows typical prices for Internet services. nine0003

Table 1.
Types and approximate cost of Internet connection.

SIMPLE CONNECTION TYPE

The simplest type of connection is an automatic connection to the host. The individual PC user establishes an automatic connection to an Internet host served by a commercial Internet provider such as Netcom (San Jose, CA), Performance System International (PSI, Herndon, VA), or UUNet Technologies (Falls Church, VA). The required hardware is a modem and terminal emulation software. The user logs into the host and runs alphanumeric applications such as telnet, ftp, or gopher. nine0003

Although these connections are easy to set up, they are usually not suitable for commercial and local network applications. They do not give the user full membership rights on the Internet, and the ISP often charges for disk space usage. Users do not have the ability to copy files directly to their own computers, send or receive email, or receive files directly from other users. In addition, they are limited in their capabilities by the alphanumeric Internet applications available on the host. nine0003

IP dial-up

With an IP dial-up connection, your network is a full member of the Internet. All users on the local network have access, and other hosts can send data directly to your local network. You need a local Internet router that supports Serial Line Interface Protocol (SLIP) or Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), a modem, and TCP/IP software. To gain access, the user’s router establishes an automatic connection with the provider’s router. nine0003

Workstations on a NetWare LAN typically communicate with the file server using Novell’s IPX protocol rather than TCP/IP. Novell’s Open Data-link Interface (ODI) architecture allows workstations to use IPX to connect to a server and TCP/IP to connect to the Internet. Both protocols can be loaded at the same time and can share standard Ethernet and Token Ring network controllers. Microsoft uses a similar architecture, using the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS) to run TCP/IP on LAN Manager and Windows NT networks. nine0003

Many ISPs offer NetWare-compatible implementations of TCP/IP. Spry (Seatle, WA), NetManage (Cupertino, CA), and others have begun to include popular Internet applications such as gopher, Mosaic, and Mail as part of their TCP/IP packages. As this article was going to print, Microsoft announced that the upcoming Windows 95 operating system would support TCP/IP, ftp, telnet, SLIP, and PPP. IBM is reportedly looking to include TCP/IP, SLIP, ftp, telnet, gopher, and a graphical Internet browser in OS/2 Warp. nine0003

In an IP dial-up connection, LAN users run Internet applications on their local workstations. The router supports simultaneous TCP/IP connections.

The SLIP protocol is used in the design of IP packets for transmission over a dial-up line, the overhead for transmitting one byte of data in a TCP / IP packet is 40 bytes. Compacted SLIP (Compressed SLIP), an improved version of SLIP, compresses the TCP / IP header to five bytes, which improves response time. Lack of error detection in SLIP and CSLIP results in frequent hangs on SLIP connections. With a more efficient PPP protocol, a checksum is included in each packet, and both parties can negotiate parameters such as packet header compression. Many router and Internet vendors are moving from SLIP implementations to PPP support. nine0003

Although your LAN becomes a full member of the Internet on an IP dial-up connection, speed limitations, especially when a large number of LAN users access the Internet at the same time, can cause your options to be limited to alphanumeric applications. Many Windows applications for large file transfers and multimedia applications require more bandwidth than is supported by most dial-up lines from 9.6 Kb/s to 14.4 Kb/s.

Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), frame relay and leased lines offer high speed connections. However, higher bandwidth generally means more expensive links and more expensive services.

DIRECT CONNECTION

The extreme point in the spectrum of all possible connections is a leased T-1 line at a speed of 1. 54 Mbps or a leased line at a speed of 56 Kbps to connect your router to the Internet. First, you need to install the CSU/DSU to connect the leased line. This configuration allows multiple LAN users to run Windows front-ends for the Internet, such as Mosaic and Windows applications, to browse the World Wide Web (WWW) and display multimedia documents. When transferring large files with a direct connection, the response time is faster. than a dial-up connection. nine0003

It is not easy to estimate the required bandwidth in advance. Approximately this can be done by the number and set of applications of users seeking access at the same time. For example, a 16 KB e-mail message can be transmitted over a 14.4 KB/s communication channel in about 1 second, so that this channel can be shared by several users if they only need to send or receive e-mail. It will take several minutes to transfer a 1 MB file over such a line, while it will take only seconds to transfer the same file over the T-1 line. nine0003

To estimate the required bandwidth, ask local network users about their expected needs, but try to choose a provider so that the cost of upgrading the network, if necessary, does not exceed, or, in any case, does not significantly exceed the planned costs.

FRAME RELAY

Frame relay is an alternative to a leased line. This relatively new interface between public and private WANs can support speeds from 56 Kbps to 1.54 Mbps. Like the old X.25 specification, frame relay has a shorter response time and higher throughput due to the lack of error detection and compression. Frame relay connections are made over clear, high-speed digital links in which error detection and flow control are performed at the end points of the network. nine0003

TCP/IP packets are transmitted over a frame relay link using an efficient, low-level protocol. Some providers rent frame relay networks from TV and radio broadcasters to expand the geography of their services. The cost of a frame relay connection can be reduced by establishing a two-way communication channel of the company with the entry point to the frame relay network.

ISDN

Another leased-line alternative is ISDN, which provides high-speed switched bandwidth over digital circuits at a lower cost than traditional leased lines. At 19In 95, this international standardized service offered by telephone companies will be available in more than 70 percent of the United States.

The most common ISDN communication channel is the one-way 64 Kbps B channel from a user on the Internet. Many router vendors, such as Cisco Systems (San Jose, CA) and 3Com (Santa Clara, CA), support the ISDN interface. Since you only pay for a line when it is actually being used, ISDN is a good solution when there is a need to transfer large amounts of data. If communication is needed for more than 8 hours a day, then a leased line or frame relay is more profitable from a financial point of view. nine0003

NEW MATH: INTERNET ADDRESSING

Each host on the Internet has its own 32-bit address. The usual representation of an address is a series of numbers separated by a decimal point. Each number represents one byte of the address. For example, 128.135.20.100 is the address of an anonymous ftp server at the University of Chicago (Illinois).

The maximum number of networks on the ARPAnet (256) proved insufficient for the new networks that have emerged since then, so the 32-bit address space was divided into three primary address classes. The three most significant bits of the address are used to mark the class. Class C addresses allocate 21 bits for the network number, which makes it possible to identify about two million networks, each of which can have up to 256 hosts. Class B addresses can support up to 16,000 networks, each with up to 65,536 hosts. nine0003

CALLING SUBNET

Numerous commercial indoor LANs have recently spread their networks. In order not to overcomplicate the identification scheme, which is quite possible in such a situation, the network administrator can interpret the address in such a way that one IP network number belongs to several networks or subnets. The base part of the IP address is divided in place to identify the local network and the host.

The usual subnet identification scheme for Class B addresses is to divide the 16-bit base number into an eight-bit LAN identification number and an eight-bit host identification number. nine0003

Internet addresses are assigned to specific machines. Application programs are identified by a number (usually a short integer) in a TCP/IP header called a port. For example, a file transfer application is assigned port 21, and telnet is assigned port 23.

FROM NUMBERS TO NAME REQUIREMENTS

The Domain Name Service (DNS) was created to translate IP addresses into names that could be used. For example, instead of calling the University of Chicago ftp server at 128.135.20.100, users can call it at gargoyle.uchicago.edu. The DNS name is hierarchical. Thus, the left side of the name identifies an Internet host, and each successive name on the right identifies an increasingly larger domain. Thus, gargoyle.uchicago.edu refers to a machine named gargoyle at the University of Chicago in the domain of an educational organization. The uchicago domain can be divided into departments such as technical, library, or medical. nine0003

Top-level domains are used to identify the country in which an Internet host is located. Countries are designated by two-letter codes, such as .us (US) or .eg (Egypt).

A 32-bit address is becoming too small for the booming Internet. Half of all class B addresses are already occupied, and the remaining half will only last a few years. Class A and Class B addresses are practically inaccessible to commercial organizations. They remain Class C addresses, which only support 256 host addresses per network. nine0003

The Internet Engineering Task Force is considering proposals to expand the address space to 64 bits to meet future requests and extend the life of TCP/IP.

IP REGULATOR

Once a packet is addressed, the IP router forwards it from the local network to the Internet. Each TCP/IP LAN user software is configured to identify the IP router as the first hop for any non-local traffic. The router recognizes the address of the packet, verifies that it is not a local address, and looks up the route table to determine the address of the next router on the path to the host at the final destination. The address of that router is then placed in the header of the packet, and the packet is sent. This process is repeated until the packet reaches its final destination. nine0003

Most users set up a static routing table for their router which, by default, contains a single ISP router address as the next destination for all traffic. The TCP/IP workstation software must also contain the address of the primary and secondary DNS servers used for name resolution.

Many NetWare LAN file servers contain multiple NICs, each connected to a different physical network segment. An IP router is connected directly to one of these segments. The file server must be configured appropriately to direct IP packets to the correct segment. Workstations that are not directly connected to the same segment as the IP router must have TCP/IP software that directs non-local IP traffic to the file server, where the Novell built-in router will route it to the IP router. nine0003

SECURITY

Novell’s NetWare is equipped with a strong security system, including passwords and encryption, intruder detection and blocking. But once your network joins the Internet’s 20 million user community, you need to take extra precautions.

Some Internet providers offer hardware-based encryption to ensure secure traffic between registered hosts. TCP/IP software for LANs usually supports an ftp server, which makes it possible for anyone who knows the address to access the workstation via an ftp command. You will most likely want to build an insurmountable barrier to unauthorized access to the corporate LAN in your IP router. Most IP routers have the ability to set up filters that block unauthorized types of packets, the address where the packet is coming from, and the address where the packet is going to. nine0003

Alan Sheltzer – Vice President, LAN Company (Malvern, PA).
He can be contacted via the Internet at [email protected].

Raven spread its wings with the Internet

Raven Press, New York’s largest medical publisher, recently installed a 100-node Novell network. The decision to install was primarily influenced by the following two factors. Employees of the company needed access to a wide range of databases and libraries on medicine on the Internet; and second, the company wanted to make it easier to communicate with authors, many of whom are in one way or another in contact with universities that use Internet services. Access to the Internet meant the company could more quickly review and edit submitted manuscripts. nine0003

The company was not willing to pay for a dedicated leased line or frame relay connection, choosing an IP switched connection instead. A multi-protocol NetBlazer router from Telebit (Sunnyvale, CA) was connected via Ethernet to the local network, and a 14. 4 Kbps modem was connected to the router. The firm chose an Internet provider and registered its domain name. Novell’s LAN Workplace for DOS TCP/IP software was installed on each workstation in the LAN, and Telebit’s point-to-point PPP software was installed to carry TCP/IP traffic over the dial-up line. A cc:Mail Gateway for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) was installed on a dedicated workstation on the local network so that the company could use its local network packages when communicating with authors and reviewers using other SMTP-enabled email packages. nine0003

After completing the hardware and software installation phase, which took about 4 days, LAN users got the desired access to the Internet, but the dial-up connection required more fine-tuning. When a user wanted to log into a remote host, the NetBlazer would first automatically connect to the provider’s router before establishing a connection, resulting in at least a thirty second delay. To other Internet users, the firm’s system appeared busy, unless a dial-up connection was already established. The SMTP mail gateway was also unable to establish a connection with the provider, unless an IP dial-up connection had already been established. Because the provider’s router did not set up a dial-up connection on its own, email delivery was often delayed. nine0003

The solution was found to be a permanent dial-up connection, for which purpose NetBlazer’s Line Block Time value was set to 0. This avoided the 30 second initial delay and speeded up mail delivery.

communication with authors and information about the latest advances in the field of medicine. The company plans to provide gopher access to its book catalog and Mosaic access to prospectuses of its new publications. This will make prospectuses of new books and other information instantly available to the Internet user community.0003

Charles Morgan’s car company is not looking for easy ways. Capital

Some try to catch up with windy fashion, others try to predict it, and only one car company does not suspect what it is, living by the principle of whiskey sellers “The older the better. ” Not all dinosaurs died out – proven by Charles Morgan, whose “lost world” is located in the English Malvern Link.

We are completely entangled in our desires. We grunt skeptically, looking at the models that have been on the assembly line for eight to ten years, but at the sight of the Volga, we sigh languidly, thinking about the “classics of the genre” and the “style icon”. The clarity of the old-school forms perfectly sets off the traditional design, highlighting the veteran in the flow of aerodynamic and ergonomic monotony. nine0003

Until recently, the British had their own pride – the island manufacturers seemed to be arguing whose model would stay on the assembly line longer, so the 20-year-old Range Rover and Rolls-Royce looked like Oxford upstarts against the backdrop of half a century of Caterham 7 and Land Rover Defender, whose styling was eternal and self-sufficient. Morgan Plus 4 has been ignoring fashion and trends for 80 years. The secret of his youth is that in tightly provincial Worcestershire they somehow managed to stop time and proved that the law of evolution “Staying still means moving backwards” can be circumvented. A family manufactory in a family estate, entire dynasties of workers, no conveyors and robots – there are not even stocks here. Everything is like in the good old 1936th: ash frame, front candle suspension, rear axle with leaf springs, plunger lubrication system, not to mention the exterior with the interior. No less archaic is the production technology of the two-door dream of our grandfathers: roadsters are still assembled on goats, body panels are knocked out on blanks, painted, varnished and polished exclusively by hand.

Back to the future

The stagnating Old World yearns for new images and, with an acute shortage of truly fresh ideas, turns not to science fiction writers, but to the beautiful past — decadence, “the autumn of civilization”, mesmerizing with its disturbing aesthetics. Existence takes on an unprecedented relief, the wind breathes with the anxiety of winter. Night mists hide details, the light of the moon turns the gold of the leaves into mystical silver. The soul is filled with magic and begins to especially sharply perceive the slightest shades of artistry. But the latter is inseparable from the individual, and therefore collective works are always impersonal. Only a true creator allows himself to create things without regard to the tastes of others. And if you agree with this postulate, then don’t be surprised that the Morgan family over and over again over the course of a century misleads the world by announcing the release of an “absolutely new model”. For outwardly they all look alike, like twins who spent their holidays with different grandmothers. nine0003

In the same water

It seems that no matter how hard they try to make a modern car at Malvern Link, the result is still the same roadster for gentlemen, full of impeccable decadence. Even in the case of the mainstream Aero 8, it turned out to be something fundamentally new for the brand, but long familiar to people from the outside world – it looks like it came off the screens of post-war science fiction films. Tired of reinventing the wheel, the Worcestershire time travelers went the opposite way, reviving their very first model – produced since 1909 to 1953 3 Wheeler with windswept and air-cooled V2 in front of the front axle. More comfortable than a motorcycle with a sidecar, and not as expensive as a car, at the same time it turned out to be more dynamic than both, as evidenced by the tricycle’s numerous race victories. Thanks to such tricycles, Morgan Motor Co was able to stand out from hundreds of other British manufacturers and win a place under the not very generous sun of the United Kingdom.

Retro from the future

It makes no sense to describe the exterior of the 3 Wheeler – the tricycle repeats one to one its ancestor, who retired at the same time as one mustachioed generalissimo. Of course, the revival of such an anachronism in every sense is possible only in Great Britain, where the space-time continuum exists according to its own laws of non-relativistic classical mechanics and the Lorentzian metric, understandable only to the British. It is all the more surprising that there are year-long queues for a new product not only in Britain, but also in other important markets – in France, Germany and even in the USA. Despite the simplest design, due to very labor-intensive and inefficient production methods, the time for creating a car, as before, is about a month. But no one complains, because, like Patek Philippe, “Morgans” are carefully inherited through the male line as family heirlooms. In addition, they are perfectly protected from the fluctuations of fashion, being just as reliable an investment as the canvases of the Impressionists. Even a three-year-old Morgan 4 / 4 costs more than a new one – not everyone likes to stand in lines. nine0003

Rejuvenation course

Mainstream Aero 8, which looks like an alien against the background of other Morgans, you need to wait two years. The timeless, half-century-old form and neat lines of the 4 / 4 and Plus 8 roadsters, produced since time immemorial, have been replaced by an exciting counterpoint of languidly curved wings of unprecedented scope and rigidly straightened surfaces. Conjugations are smoothed out, the attack proceeds at the level of holistic perception. Today, the English school of sports cars, or rather Old English, if you understand the difference, interprets the term “sportiness” much closer to the continental perception of this word, but still in its own way. Morgan has never been known for rigid chassis, and the Aero 8 is far from being built on a ladder frame: aluminum alloy box profiles, joined with rivets and glue, are just the first step. The archaic candle suspensions and the continuous rear axle are a thing of the past, now instead of the pivots dear to the heart of the autogerontophile, double wishbones are installed in front and a typical German multi-link design in the rear. These revolutionary changes for the brand took handling to previously unseen heights. But does this brand really need it? The demonstrative rejection of anti-roll bars tells us what is not so very much. nine0003

Primal Strength

Malvern Link doesn’t look for easy ways to achieve high goals, and that’s a good thing: their results once again demonstrate that there is something else besides the mainstream. And the recent bankruptcy of the German company Weismann, which did not last 20 years on the retro roadster market, is proof of this.

In search of an engine that meets the neophyte concept, Morgan turned to BMW minders. Moreover, the British chose the old-school V8s that were used until 2010, that is, not yet strangled for the sake of eco-eco. Their 4.8-liter aspirated engine with a capacity of 367 liters. With. accelerates Aero 8 to 277 km / h, making it the fastest of all Morgans. nine0003

If Aero’s forerunners, the 4/4 and Plus 8 roadsters, were outwardly full of soft charm, the “hero of our time” is not so good-natured. According to chief designer Chris Lawrence, the shape of the top model was the result of painstaking aerodynamic fine-tuning of the Plus 8 racing version for the FIA GT Championship. True, there were plenty of quotes from art deco here too: just take a look at the classic analog devices with the finest black notches against an ivory color background and a “scaly” aluminum panel.

Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls in Montreal, 🇨🇦 Excursion, price $235

If the Americans who fought the British in 1812 on both sides of the Niagara River, where the famous Niagara Falls are located, knew about those millions tourists with their millions of dollars who strive to break through to the Canadian side of the Niagara River every year, they would be very surprised. And maybe they would have fought even better to leave this coast for America. As the people say – “Waterfall – he is a waterfall in Africa.” On the whole, it’s probably true. But in relation to Niagara Falls, this expression is clearly erroneous. The fact is that only from the Canadian side of Niagara Falls you can literally “touch it with your hands”. You can stand a meter away from the place where a multi-ton mass of water rushes down with noise and admire a small steamboat, the size of a matchbox, which carries especially brave tourists to the “very hot”, or rather, to the very cold right under these tones of water falling from the sky. And as a Canadian and a patriot of my country, I am very glad that “we”, that is, they, the British, defended “our” Canadian Niagara Falls in this war and that now these millions of dollars of tourists are flowing precisely to our Canadian side.

And if you “accidentally” ended up on the American side of the waterfalls and can legally cross the border back and forth, then I advise you not to be lazy and cross or cross a small bridge separating the two countries and look at this wonder of the world from the Canadian side. But what if you can’t legally cross the US-Canadian border, but you don’t want to illegally? It’s very simple – call me, write to me, book a tour of Niagara from the American side and believe me, those who cannot cross the bridge from the Canadian side will now envy you.

I invite you on a tour of the town of Niagara Falls, during which in 5-6 hours you will see not only the waterfalls themselves, but many things that those Canadians across the river never dreamed of. The first stop on our route will be the oldest in North America, Niagara Falls State Park, which was laid out in 1886 on the banks of the Niagara River and along which we will go down to the “American” Niagara Falls. This is where the fun begins… The unique “Cave of the Winds” tour will take you so close to the waterfall that you can’t get any closer. To begin with, we will go down the elevator to a depth of 53 meters deep into the gorge and walk along the wooden bridges to the famous “Veranda of the Hurricanes”. The waterfall is only 6 meters from the Bridal Veil Falls, the ears are filled with the noise of a multi-ton mass of water and a huge rainbow that does not disappear even at night – you will remember such a sight for a lifetime. Well, what visit to Niagara Falls can do without the world-famous Maid of the Mist tour. A small boat will take tourists around or under all of the waterfalls. You will feel their power on your skin, become wet from head to toe (don’t worry, everyone who participates in the tour receives special yellow raincoats) and you can take photos that you will show to your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to the waterfalls – the main attraction of the park, we will visit the tourist center of this region – the Visitor Center of Niagara, where, in addition to the traditional souvenir shop, you can watch a performance in the theater, which is located inside the center, and see thousands of flowers from the Great Lakes region, which are presented in the botanical garden . In addition, there you can have a bite to eat in a restaurant on the veranda, admiring the beauties of the surrounding park and drinking beer. (Drinking beer in the oldest park in America, as in all other parks in America and Canada, is prohibited by law). The next stop on our way will be Niagara Gorge Discovery Center. Here, tourists will get acquainted with the history of this region, see an unusual three-dimensional theater, interactive expositions, climb a real mountain and follow various educational routes specially laid out for tourists. At the end of the tour, we will definitely visit the Niagara Falls Aquarium, where you can see a performance with penguins, sea lions, fur seals and other exotic marine animals. Such a spectacle will appeal to both adults and children.

The real highlight of our tour will be visiting the Old Fort Niagara. The history of Old Fort Niagara goes back over 300 years. During the colonial wars in North America, the fortress at the mouth of the Niagara River was of vital importance as it controlled access to the Great Lakes and further west into the heart of the American continent. With the completion of the Erie Canal in 1825, Fort Niagara’s strategic importance declined. Nevertheless, until the middle of the 20th century, it played a big role as an important outpost throughout the country. Three flags are solemnly raised daily over the parade ground of Fort Niagara. They symbolize the peoples whose history is connected with Fort Niagara.

The first village military post was built on this site in 1679 by the French. It was called Fort-Conti. In 1726, France built a real stone bastion in the style of the “French castle” here. In 1759, Great Britain took control of the fort. This was the result of a nineteen day siege during the French and Indian War. In 1796, as one of the outcomes of the American Revolution, the fort was transferred to the United States. The last time the British (read Canadians) captured the fort was at 1913 during the Canadian-American War. It was finally transferred to the United States for the second time in 1815, at the end of the War of 1812.

The War of 1812 was the last armed conflict in which Fort Niagara participated. From that time until the middle of the 20th century, it served as a peaceful border post. The last units of the army were withdrawn from the fort in 1963. Today, the US Coast Guard is the only military presence on the territory of the fort, as the border between Canada and America passes nearby. Welcome to Niagara Falls. From the Canadian side or the American side – come to either or both at once, excursions to these unique places with your personal guide will remain one of the most vivid memories for you.

Scheduling and Tuition | Child Care Center

Statements may be picked up at the front reception desk through the 10th of each month. Payment is due on the 10th, in advance, for child care services for the entire month unless other arrangements have been made. Tuition statements will reflect the schedule declared each semester on the schedule change form. Fees are assessed monthly, based on the weekly schedule, regardless of days attended. No credit will be given for holidays or days missed.

Any additional fees (i.e., non-compliant meals, extra hours, late fines etc.) will be added to the following month’s statement. Questions about statements may be directed to the director.

Tuition rates for child care services are reviewed on a yearly basis every May. Notification of specific increases will be made in writing, attached to the monthly statement.

Payment can be made by check or money order and should be made out to “Marquette University Child Care Center” or “MUCCC. ” Please deposit all payments into the payment box in the lobby.

Checks returned from the bank marked NSF will be assessed a $25 fee.
Amounts paid in excess will be credited on the next month’s statement or will be refunded to families no longer attending the center.

There is a registration fee of $55 per family is due upon enrollment at the center. A supply fee is assessed monthly based on the number of days of attendance per week with a minimum of $1 per month and a maximum of $5 per month per child.

Because of licensing requirements, strict ratios must be followed, so staying late or arriving early often puts a classroom over the mandated ratio. We ask that you call the center so that arrangements can be made to stay in compliance. The center closes at 6 p.m., and “closing” staff are required to stay in the building until all rooms are empty. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to gather your child(ren) and belongings so the building is clear at 6 p. m. and staff can lock up. If you are late picking up your child(ren), after the 6pm closing, a fee will be assessed at $2 per minute per child.

Schedule change forms are located in the wall pocket outside the front office. Complete the form at least two weeks in advance. It is not guaranteed that the space will be available. Your child’s schedule can not exceed more than 10 hours per day.

A two-week notice is required for withdrawal from the center. The withdrawal section of the schedule change form with the last date of attendance noted should be returned to the office so the space may be offered to families on the waiting list.

Periodically, parents may need to request extra time during hours when his/her child is not normally scheduled. In this event, an extra-hours form is available outside the main office in the wall pocket. Please fill out the date and time extra care is needed, and submit the form to the office at least 24 hours in advance. Hours will be granted provided there is room within a classroom during the requested time slot. Parents will be notified in writing whether the request has been approved or denied. The charge for granted extra hours would appear on the next month’s tuition statement.
Please contact the center if granted extra hours will not be needed to assure that additional fees will not be charged.

Yearly receipts of child care expenses are issued in January for tax purposes and include the federal identification number. If a receipt is needed at any other time, please attach a note to your monthly payment.

Child care costs soaring due to inflation

(CNN) – Many businesses have struggled to stay afloat during the coronavirus pandemic, and the child care industry is no different.

Now, day care services are dealing with inflation.

At Kidzstuff Childcare Center in Baltimore, the price of food, rent, power and supplies is soaring.

“Everything is up,” said Kidzstuff Childcare Center CEO Angela Kidane.

Kidane has raised wages roughly 40% but is still struggling to hire staff. With one classroom closed, her waitlist is growing.

“We’re probably up between 30% to 35% for operating costs. That cost is going to have to be passed along to our parents,” she said.

This fall, she will raise the tuition at her nonprofit for the third time in 12 months. In all, it is up 30% and for some families, that is thousands of dollars a year.

“It’s not easy for us to have to do this, but it is a necessity,” Kidane said.

She says if she did not raise tuition prices, the day care would not be able to stay open.

Programs nationwide have done the same.

“It’s happening everywhere. To keep the doors open, this is what has to happen and it is going to continue,” said National Childcare Association director Cindy Lehnoff.

Inflation is just part of it.

At least 15,000 programs have closed, with 11% fewer child care workers than pre-pandemic, leaving an industry with a median wage of just over $13 an hour.

Now, many parents face longer waitlists and tuition hikes.

Sean Toner owns Beach Babies in Lewes, Delaware.

He is raising tuition 8% to 10% this fall for the second straight year to offset inflation. He is also raising teacher wages to roughly $14 an hour.

“I don’t want to be that person that’s driving away the parents,” he said.

Jessica Gebbia is a teacher at Beach Babies and her 5-year-old son attends day care there as well.

“Most of my paycheck is going just to have him here, and that’s rough because now we have gas prices, food prices., everything’s just going up and up,” she said.

She says she can’t leave the industry because she loves what she does.

“These children need teachers who do love what they do,“ she said.

Many mothers have left the workplace and as of May, women’s jobs made up 88% of those lost in the pandemic.

To-wen Tseng and her husband have struggled to afford child care in San Diego.

Her employer cut her hours in half, so she flew her sons to Taiwan to stay with family as she looks for a second job.

“If I just quit my job and stayed home and watched my kids, maybe the whole thing will be easier for my family. I hate to say this, but this is true,” Tseng said. ”The reason why we’re still struggling to pay for this child care, it’s because I don’t want to give my give up my career.”

Millions of parents are making tough choices.

For Jessica and her husband, they made a decision not to expand their family.

“The child care plays a big part in that. I can’t imagine having the two of them in day care. There’s just no way I wouldn’t be able to do this job,” she said.

According to a senior economist at Wells Fargo, the child care industry has the greatest share of female employees with women accounting for 96% of the workforce.

how and where you can get it, what it gives, what programs of higher, secondary and preschool education are abroad

The trend to study abroad has not lost popularity for many years. What is the reason? Perhaps where we are not, the grass is really greener? The answer to this question can be obtained only if you study in detail the features of the education systems of the country you are interested in. In this article, we will try to cover the main aspects related to admission to foreign educational institutions.

The expression that goes around unconsciously in the minds of most responsible parents is “a good start.” Starting from a very early age, we prepare our child for an adult life, preferably a happy one. Staying in a foreign kindergarten brings many advantages: learning a language, adapting to a foreign culture, preparing to enter a local school, etc. But, living in Russia, we are accustomed to a certain system of work of preschool institutions, and foreign counterparts can be quite different. Therefore, it is worth briefly talking about them.

Kindergarten in the USA

A developed system of preschool institutions under the auspices of the religious community – at Catholic churches, Jewish and Muslim churches. There are both small family kindergartens with groups of 5-6 people, and larger ones. For the most part, the child’s meals are not organized – the child brings lunch from home. There is often a quiet hour in the middle of the day. The main activities are drawing, modeling, toys, reading books and walking.

Interesting In an American kindergarten, a child will never hear a harsh word or scream from a teacher. The most terrible punishment for pranks is a chair in the corner of the room – the baby is seated on it and forbidden to play with other children for several minutes.

Kindergarten in Germany

The main and important difference is that children are accepted here without any certificates and information about vaccinations. They didn’t hear about quarantines here, educators simply warn parents about an outbreak of the disease. Institutions with afternoon quiet hours are hard to find. If the child wants to sleep, then he can be laid on a special mattress. Meals are often organized, but kindergartens do not have their own kitchen, food is brought in and warmed up. Classes are mostly standard – drawing, modeling, games, but educators rarely teach children something, they only look after.

Kindergarten in Switzerland

Mainly designed for children until the middle of the day, but there are also extended groups. There is no forced “cramming” of letters and numbers – more attention is paid to physical development and games, during which children gain new knowledge. The approach to education is creative and focused on the personality of the child.

Kindergarten in the UK

At the age of 3, every child living in the UK is entitled to 15 or 30 free hours[1] per week in public kindergarten. Quite a lot of institutions that work from 8 am to 12-15 pm. In kindergartens in England, groups spend time in rooms divided into zones – for drawing, reading books, games and other activities. Some kindergartens have “quiet rooms” where a tired child can sleep.

To enroll your child in a European or American kindergarten, you will most likely need vaccination certificates and, if available, a certificate from a Russian preschool institution. In the United States and other countries,[2] a local medical card will be required.

The cost of a child’s stay in kindergarten varies not only in different countries, but also in different regions within the same locality. For example, the cost of a month in a private kindergarten in the United States is 300-1000[3] dollars per month – it all depends on the age of the child and the number of hours spent in the institution. In the UK, the average price for a week of preschool attendance is around €100[4], while in London the figure could be €150.

Studying abroad: a solid foundation for a successful future

Studying abroad has many advantages. At least during the time spent at a desk in another country, the child will learn a foreign language. And this, combined with positive grades in the certificate, opens up prospects for him to enter prestigious foreign universities. He learns a lot about the culture of the country, and maybe he will make the first useful acquaintances.

In the United States, public and private schools or boarding schools provide educational services. Any option is paid, there are no budget programs here, although the first type of institution is much cheaper. Public schools cost an average of $20,000-30,000[5] per academic year, while private schools cost about $50,000-70,000[6]. Private schools abroad, for example in the USA, are distinguished by a thoughtful approach to the presentation of knowledge, a small number of students in the class, as well as a modern education system, for example, in high school, the child chooses the number of hours for each subject. In general, American schools give the student not so much specific knowledge as the ability to obtain it. An active life position and leadership qualities are highly valued here. In order to enroll in an American school, you must provide a completed application form, an extract on academic performance for 3 years when transferring from another educational institution, and recommendations from teachers. Students from other countries must also provide the results of the SLEP or TOEFL tests, pass the SSAT exam. In addition, a Skype or telephone interview may be required.

For those who decide to enter a university in Germany, an excellent option is to obtain an Abitur certificate, which allows you to be enrolled in a university without additional exams. There are public and private schools in the country, and the former are absolutely free even for foreigners. But students from abroad can only get an Abitur in a private school, these are the rules. The training system is similar to the American one – individual curricula and a high workload. The cost of an academic year in a private school is approximately 30,000–40,000[7] euros, including accommodation. Requirements for the student: knowledge of German and English, passing entrance exams, interviews. You also need to provide a report card with grades for the last 2 years and a characteristic from a domestic school.

Schooling in Australia follows the British system: there are primary, secondary and senior classes, the latter being optional. Most[8] Australians study in public schools, and private schools are almost completely “occupied” by foreigners. In order to enter a local university, you do not need to take entrance exams, it is enough to have good grades in specialized subjects and a high average score. And if, after receiving secondary education in Australia, the child plans to enter the university of another country, then the last two classes he must study under the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Education in this country is cheaper than in the US and Europe – a year of study in a private school costs about 10,000-15,000 Australian dollars. For admission, you must provide data on grades for recent years, as well as pass an English proficiency test.

Peculiarities of higher education abroad: the first steps to a successful career

Studying at a higher educational institution abroad allows a graduate to get a prestigious and well-paid job, and not only in the country where it took place. According to the ranking[9] of the best higher education programs, the leaders in this area are the USA, Germany and the UK.

The list is topped by the United States of America with its famous universities, which are famous for their equipment and excellent conditions for research activities. There are 3 degrees of higher education – bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies. A full course of study before obtaining a doctoral degree can last up to 11 years, and the first step can be completed in 3-4 years. The most famous of the US universities – Harvard, Yale, Stanford – are distinguished by an unusually high competition and price per year of study. For example, studying at Harvard costs about $40,000[10] per year without accommodation and other expenses. The most in demand among students are the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine and Law, the Higher School of Design. Less well-known universities are also popular among foreigners, whose diplomas are nevertheless highly quoted in the employment market. For example, a year of study at the University of New Hampshire is valued at about $30,000[11]. There are many faculties in the technical, business direction, as well as in the field of art. For admission, you must pass the SAT test, as well as TOEFL or IELTS.

This is interesting!
American and European universities take cheating detection very seriously. If the teacher during the exam suspects the student of something like this, then the latter faces a long trial with the involvement of witnesses and punishment up to expulsion.

The UK higher education system offers 3 degrees – bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctoral studies. You can get a diploma in one of them or all of them in one of the 300 [12] higher educational institutions of the country. In this case, you will have to fork out. Education here is expensive. For example, a student year at the University of Bristol, one of the top 100 universities in the world[13], will cost approximately £17,000. And the cost of 1 year of study at Durham University starts from 19000 pounds.

However, before writing the first tuition check, you will have to work hard. Admission to a British university on the basis of a Russian school certificate is impossible. This means that in order to receive the coveted English certificate, you will either have to unlearn the first year of a domestic university, or complete a preparatory course under the Foundation program, or study for 2 years in an English high school.

Germany also does not recognize Russian school certificates. To enter a German university, you must study at least 2 courses in a domestic one. The selected educational institution will need to provide a certificate of knowledge of the German language, a certificate from the place of study, as well as a certificate with the results of the Feststellungsprüfung qualifying exam. The cost of education in the universities of this country is relatively low – about 1000 euros per year[14]. Although the price, of course, depends on the status of the university. If the price does not matter to you, pay attention to one of the most famous universities in Germany – the University. Humboldt. The list of faculties of this university is extensive – from jurisprudence, natural sciences and philosophy to agriculture. Also noteworthy is the University of Marburg, founded in 1527.

Obtaining additional education in a foreign educational institution: a career springboard

Russian business education is at the stage of development, therefore, MBA diplomas of domestic “production” do not yet correspond to the international level. Therefore, many people think about getting additional education in foreign countries. American programs are usually designed for two years, and European – for one.

The requirements for students of business schools abroad are quite extensive: higher education, management experience, certificate of a language test, GMAT test, writing an essay, providing recommendations from previous teachers, certificates of employment.

London City University School of Business is well-known in the UK, it is in 6th place[15] in the world ranking of MBA programs. Tuition here costs about 40,000 pounds[16]. In the US, pay attention to the Kellogg school at the University of Northeast, which ranks 12th on the list. Here you can choose the duration of study – the annual program costs about $95,000[17], and the 2-year program costs about $70,000. to students. A carefully thought-out preparatory stage will open the way to career heights, and mistakes can be very expensive. It is best if there is a person next to you who has experience of studying in the country of your choice.

Git Hub is revolutionizing education by providing teachers with a powerful platform to create and manage virtual classrooms. With its plethora of features and easy-to-use tools, teachers can manage projects and assignments and easily collaborate and share resources with their students.

              What Is GitHub?

GitHub is an open-source software that allows people to work on projects together from any location. For educators, it is also helpful in sharing teaching materials across different courses, allowing collaboration between teachers, and making it easier to work on lessons together without constantly switching programs.

This article will explore ten ways teachers can use GitHub in the classroom to make teaching more collaborative, efficient, and fun. So read on as we dive into how teachers everywhere should take advantage of its capabilities.

10 Ways Teachers Can Use GitHub in the Classroom

              Manage Classrooms

GitHub Classroom provides teachers with a powerful tool for managing their courses. Through the classroom, teachers can create multiple student rosters, which become the foundation of the course itself. With each roster, teachers can assign assignments, track student progress, and review and grade their work.

In addition, they can track their students’ contributions within their repositories, giving them better insights into how each student is doing in their course.

              Starter Assignment

Teachers can use the Git & GitHub starter assignment to give students an overview of key concepts related to Git and GitHub. The course is designed to allow students to quickly get familiarized with the topics and develop a better understanding of its fundamentals.

It covers several essential elements, including version control with Git, repository collaboration on GitHub, real-world application of the concepts, and other less-discussed topics, such as techniques for debugging code along with best security practices.

The course also provides helpful links to tutorials and additional resources that teachers can use to introduce more complex topics within software development. The starter assignment simplifies the ongoing learning experience by giving students an effective platform for grasping essential knowledge about Git and GitHub.

              Create Individual Assignment

Teachers can use GitHub Classroom to facilitate the creation of individual assignments. They can also determine each assignment repository’s visibility and access permissions by assigning a title and setting an optional deadline.

Grading can also be automated, streamlining the assessment process for improved accuracy. In addition, instructors can employ starter codes, documentation, tests, and other resources to support student efforts on their assignments.

A dedicated space to discuss each assignment with a student further enhances GitHub Classroom’s appeal as an easy-to-navigate educator tool that facilitates comprehensive educational experiences for teachers and learners alike.

              Create Group Assignment

Using GitHub Classroom, teachers can easily create collaborative assignments for their courses. Once a student accepts the assignment, they have the flexibility to create or join a team of fellow students. The teams created for each assignment are saved as a set and can be reused for future assignments.

For added convenience, teachers can also provide starter codes, documentation, tests, and other resources to offer students a head start on the project by creating a template repository. This makes it simple and convenient for teachers to administer collaborative assignments through GitHub Classroom.

              Edit an Assignment

Teachers can use GitHub to easily edit existing assignments, providing them with limitless opportunities to modify the assignment in a way that best fits their course needs. With the help of GitHub, they can edit such things as submission deadlines and auto-grading tests from previously created assignments.

Additionally, teachers can add bulk or single tasks to an assignment and a grading rubric for individual students.

              Reuse an Assignment

Reusing existing assignments is a great way to save time and energy as a teacher, especially if you have multiple classrooms in different organizations. GitHub Classroom can help by copying the assignment wherever you need it, including any other classrooms.

Not only will the assignment contain all original details like the name, source repository, auto-grading test, and preferred editor, but it will also include a template repository and its contents from the target organization.

You can easily make changes to your copied assignment post-copy, allowing maximum customization and flexibility for your students. Remember that you have no control over the preferred editor setting, though!

Create an Assignment From a Template Repository

Creating an assignment from a template efficiently provides your students with documentation, starter codes, and other resources. All you need is to use the template repository as the starter code for your assignment on GitHub Classroom.

Depending on the visibility setting of the repository, either your organization must own the template repository, or it must be public for it to be used in the creation of the assignment.

              Auto-Grading

Assessment becomes automated by designing tests to run in the assignment repository, enabling quick and efficient processing of assignments.

All teachers need to do is set up the tests for an assignment. Whenever students submit their work on GitHub Classroom, the configured tests will automatically run in a Linux environment containing the latest submission.

The student can then view the results of the tests and make necessary changes before submitting them again.

              Leave Feedback With Pull Requests

Providing feedback to students in a timely, structured manner can have a positive impact on their learning outcomes. To deliver meaningful and constructive feedback, GitHub Classroom offers the ability to create special pull requests. This allows instructors to easily add comments, questions, annotations, and code snippets directly within the repository for each assignment.

Seamless integration with the Student Appointments feature allows for discussions about assignment submissions where everyone involved can see the context within which conversations are held. With an organized workflow, instructors can spend more time engaging with students and less time managing communication logistics.

Register and Connect to an LMS Course

Registering and connecting an LMS course to GitHub Classroom is a simple process that requires only a few steps. First, an administrator must configure the LMS instance to allow for integration with GitHub Classroom. Then, the administrator initiates the OAuth authentication handshake by registering their LMS with GitHub Classroom.

This registration only needs to take place once, but it allows any teacher using the same LMS instance to sync their courses to classrooms. After these preliminary steps are complete, teachers can import rosters of student identifiers from the LMS and into their desired classrooms.

              Conclusion

Overall, GitHub provides an effective solution for managing educational resources, which saves time and helps streamline the learning process for all involved.

Now all parents are thinking what to do with their child in quarantine. Daria Kharitonova, a specialist of the family center of SZAO, has prepared five interesting and useful games that are suitable for children from three to seven years old.

              TOUCH GAME

How to play: Pick up 12 different sized, child-safe objects. For example, small toys, plastic utensils, vegetables and fruits. Ask the child to close his eyes and give him one of the objects in his hands. Let him slowly stroke him, twist him in his hands. It’s great if the baby himself guesses by touch what is in front of him. Then ask them to name the properties of the item and what can be done with it. nine0005

What is useful: this game develops imagination and imaginative thinking.

              THE BOOK ABOUT ME GAME

How to play: create a special book with your child, where he will be the main character! You will need several sheets of paper, glue or a stapler, pencils and felt-tip pens, and any decorative items. The book can have as many pages as you like, depending on the child’s imagination. Come up with a name and a story. Write it down with your child and draw illustrations. Indicate the author and read with the child. nine0005

What is useful: develops the imagination, teaches to formulate one’s thoughts.

              TREASURE HUNTER GAME

How to play: secretly hide various surprises in the apartment, as well as one main one, which will be found at the end of the game. Prepare small hint sheets, write a step-by-step route on each. Give the first clue to the child yourself, it should contain the place of the next clue (drawing, rebus, short description, riddle). Let the kid guess and find the next clue and surprise, and so on until the main gift. nine0005

What is useful: various tasks will help develop logical thinking.

              TELL WHAT YOU FEEL

How to play: invite the child to depict the following emotions: delight, joy, sadness, pride, fear, interest, anger, glee, sympathy, a sense of relief, surprise. Then show these emotions yourself and ask them to guess what you are showing.

What is useful: the game is aimed at developing emotional intelligence. It will help the child to better understand their own feelings and correctly perceive others. nine0005

              WHAT’S MISSING GAME

How to play: put ten items on the table. A glass, spoon, toy, phone, pen, coin, candy or any item you find at home. The child must look carefully at the objects and remember them. Ask him to turn away and remove one of the items. Turning around, the child guesses what object is missing.

What is useful: the game is aimed at developing short-term memory and attention. nine0005

“Through play, the parent forms the correct attitude towards people and situations in the child. Play with children, share experience and give knowledge,” the expert advises.

Children’s outdoor games – the top best outdoor games for children

              03 February 2022

with other children – friends in the yard and school, older sisters and brothers. If you teach your child a variety of games, you can safely do housework. There are options for outdoor games that a child can play on his own, without comrades. nine0005

Opinion of a child psychologist. Children love to play. And do not argue that modern boys and girls do not like to be on the street! They often simply do not know what to do in the yard. Nobody taught them interesting games. But this is the best alternative to gadgets. Parents often complain: the child sits with the phone in his hands all day. But at the same time, they themselves do nothing to suggest another interesting activity to the children.

Please note: taking away gadgets and forbidding children or use is not a good idea. We live in the modern world and being able to handle digital technology is a necessary condition for self-realization in society. nine0005

We are talking about the excessive consumption of a digital product and the need to dose the time spent on social networks and playing games. Computer games develop a lot of useful skills – reaction speed, logic, thinking, ingenuity. But they require a time limit. It is impossible that virtual games completely crowd out everything else.

There is no healthier activity for children than outdoor games!

No, the most exciting computer game can replace live communication. You can develop interaction skills both with older people and with younger people or your peers only by regularly communicating with them “live”. nine0005

What games can you play outside? The first piece of advice we give is:

Do you remember your childhood games? When did you play hide-and-seek, hopscotch, beat out with the whole yard? These were wonderful outdoor games in the street, which boys and girls played with the whole yard.

If you think carefully, you can remember dozens of interesting activities. Start teaching your children games that are familiar to more than one generation. This will be the first step. You will be surprised with what enthusiasm your son and daughter will take up your initiative. nine0005

Children’s outdoor games are timeless. They are of interest to any generation.

We have compiled for you a large list of the most popular games for kids of all ages. So let’s start playing!

              Sand play. For toddlers

The most popular are children’s outdoor games with sand. Kids just love playing in the sandbox! You will be surprised – even very young children begin to show imagination and offer their own options for playing.

              1. Shop

We use sand in a variety of ways. It can serve as a material for building a store and act as products – cereals, flour, pies, etc.

              2. Builder

We build anything from sand – houses, castles, fortresses, fences. We make “grandmothers”. We decorate our creations using improvised materials – pebbles, sticks, leaves, etc.

What you need: shovels and scoops, buckets of different sizes, rakes, sets of molds. nine0005

              3. Bed

Making a bed. We fill the shaft, build a fence. We use a rake, “plant” crops (cones, sticks, leaves, etc.). You can teach children from a common shaft to rake up small sand shafts, slam them with a spatula and make beds.

What you need: spatula, fence material, children’s rake.

              4. Construction of a house and a street

We teach a child to use a shovel to shovel sand, level surfaces, cut off the top of a building, tamp it down, etc. Form windows and doors in the “building”. Equip the adjacent territory, plan the situation in the constructed building and on the street, plant green spaces, etc. Show your imagination! nine0005

Materials: small boards and planks, spatula, pieces of plywood, figurines of animals and people from play sets for creating entourage, trees, bushes, flowers, cars and motor vehicles, etc.

              5. Jolly Zoo

We teach children how to make enclosures and put “pets” there. We use parts of play sets made of wood and plastic. We build a fence and gates, we make a cash desk for visitors.

Materials: shovel, buckets for carrying sand, rakes for leveling surfaces, trees, animal figurines, zoo feeding utensils, keepers figurines, etc. nine0005

              6. Building tunnels and bridges

Making a tunnel, running cars and trains through it. We use game sets and a spatula. We build bridges by digging deepenings under the thickness of the sand, using improvised materials to strengthen the structure.

              Outdoor water games

Playing outdoors with water in summer is what could be more interesting! Children just love to splash and spill water, but at home such an activity is difficult to organize. If you can’t think of something to play outside, offer your child this activity. There will be no limit to delight. nine0005

              1. Water bomb

Fill balloons with water. Bomb is ready!

              2. Taking a shower

We make a beautiful shower from PVC pipe scraps by connecting the structure to the hose in the yard. No opportunity? An ordinary plastic bottle will serve as a summer water supply. It makes excellent sprinklers.

              3. Merry Mill

This will require a little more equipment and materials, but the result is worth it. We use a table-bath without water (one container), a children’s plastic mill toy, a plastic jug for half a liter, 0.5 l, a large bucket of water, counting sticks and numbers. Don’t forget a towel to wipe up the splashes later. nine0005

              4. Wonderful trickle

Learn with your baby how water behaves. Put your child’s hand under the stream of water, explain to him what is happening. How water falls, how it splashes. How it flows down depending on the pressure, etc.

              5. Waterfalls

Any objects that allow you to pour water are used: watering cans, small bowls, small jugs, scoops or simple plastic glasses. Kids should be allowed to try to draw water in the containers themselves, then pour it out. nine0005

              6. Coloring water

We show how water changes color under the action of different watercolors. Explain the relationship between color saturation and amount of ink.

              7. Sinking and not sinking

We show that some objects float well, while others sink. We take objects made of metal, wood, plastic, rubber, fabrics, paper, etc.

              Mud games

Outdoor games. Choose dirt! Child psychologist explains

There are no good or bad games. There are bad and good parents. It all depends on their wisdom! It is incredibly sad to watch overly disciplined boys and girls who, out of fear of punishment, try not to get dirty.

With unreasonable prohibitions, the spontaneous activity of children is blocked.

In no way are we talking about permissiveness and the absence of, as they say, “brakes”. The point is that children of all ages should be treated with respect and their wishes and needs taken into account. nine0005

Children learn about the world and so far can express themselves only in a variety of games and activities.

The task of adults is to provide them with a safe environment for play activity and provide them with the opportunity to fully explore the surrounding space. This does not mean that everything can be allowed. Play with a sharp knife, for example.

The benefits of plastic materials for the development and health of the child

Fiddling with plastic materials is incredibly useful. Clay, kinetic and ordinary sand, plasticine and the same dirt are used! Yes, the usual dirty street dirt! After the game, the child will climb into the bath and become clean. But happiness after such a lesson will be limitless. nine0005

But you must educate your child to understand that, realizing any of his needs, he must take into account the desires and needs of others and the realities of life.

              So, playing with mud:

              1. Serves as a source of various tactile sensations for children.
              2. Introduces the child to the properties of natural materials.
              3. Helps realize research interest.
              4. Forms creative thinking.
              5. Encourages experimentation. nine0247

These games give the baby incomparable pleasure and are a reliable way to relieve stress.

We offer the TOP of the best mud games!

              1. We make pies and cakes.
              2. We build castles.
              3. Digging wells.
              4. Playing Indians (painting with mud).
              5. Create an outfit out of mud, generously smearing fresh mud on the body and decorating it with anything. Everything that we find in the yard will be used – foxes, petals, etc.

We are sure that reading these lines will make you smile. Let the kids have fun. And they still have time to become boring, strict adults.

              Outdoor games for children’s company

              1. Dragon

Several players cling to each other. It turns out the “locomotive”. The task is to catch the dragon’s tail. That is, the first person in the chain must grab his tail – the last player in the “train”. When this is done, the last player becomes at the head of the chain and catches the “tail”. nine0005

              2. Fisherman and rod

The players stand in a circle. One of the players plays the role of leader. He stands in the center of the circle and spins the fishing rod (rope or skipping rope) in a circle. Players deftly dodge the bait. Whoever failed, the fisherman caught. The player is out of the game.

              3. Golden Gate

Three or four players stand in a circle and hold hands. There may be several such circles. Other players become one after another – a snake. They all shout together: “The Golden Gate is not always allowed through. For the first time it is forgiven, for the second time it is forbidden, for the third time we will not let you through!” At this moment, music plays, the players from the circles lower their hands and the snake runs under their hands. As soon as the music stops, the players from the circle grab the running ones with their hands. nine0005

Now it is not difficult to organize music in the yard. Therefore, the question of what games you can play on the street is not even worth it. There are a huge number of options!

              4. Colors

Children stand in a circle. One player says, “Tap red (green, yellow, blue, etc.) one, two, three!” Everyone tries to quickly see and touch the indicated color (on items of clothing, etc.) of those who are standing in a circle. Failed – out. The last player wins.

              5. Shadows

Any number of players can play. The only condition for playing outdoors in summer is sunny weather. The driver does not catch the player himself, but his shadow. To be caught, the player must hide in the shadows. While two players are running, the others stand still.

              6. Bank-river

Draw a line dividing the space into a bank and a river. At random, the leader is called: a coast or a river. Everyone jumps either to the shore or to the river. If at the word “river” the player stands in the “river”, he jumps in place. nine0005

Games that can be played alone

It happens that for some reason a child is alone in the yard, without friends. In order not to be bored, teach him to play and explain – you can always find something to your liking and not be sad.

              1. Obstacle course

If possible, set up an obstacle course in your yard. The playground will help the child to spend time outdoors with benefit.

              2. Reading books

See an interesting picture book and read a fairy tale in nature – what could be better? In the summer, you can start exploring new exciting stories.

              3. Watching nature

Buy children’s binoculars for your child. You can watch nature for hours!

              4. Sports, sports, sports!

There is never too much sport. The obstacle course in the yard is clearly not enough. Let the child rollerblade, bike, play ball, tennis and badminton. nine0005

              5. Juggler

Have your child learn to juggle. You can first find educational videos and watch with your child, explaining to him what he saw. You can juggle tennis balls and even apples. Better yet, buy a special kit in the store.

Outdoor games for children with a rope

              1. Water jumps

Players jump over a rope that is rotated by the leader. Players have small (not fragile) containers of water in their hands. The goal is to spill as little water as possible. nine0005

              2. Tug of war

This is a three player street game. Can be played by two or more children. Teams are placed at the same distance from the designated line. The task is to pull the other team into your territory.

              3. Limbo

World famous and incredibly popular game. Two people hold a jump rope or a long stick. Players take turns crawling under it. The line keeps going down and down. In winter, older children can try ice skating. An option for older children is to play ice skating. nine0005

              4. Races

The task is to arrange races by jumping ropes. Players line up and, on command, start moving by jumping rope.

              5. Double Dutch

This is the name of the game when one or two players jump over two ropes at once. It’s not as easy as it seems!

Mobile games for girls – skipping rope, a wide variety of ball games, rubber bands and hopscotch. As a rule, it is girls who play hopscotch and rubber bands more. But the boys may well try their hand. nine0005

There are also quiet games that both boys and girls like very much. Remember the game of “Ring”?

              1. Playing the Ring

The leader hides some object in his hands (a ring, a leaf, a pebble, etc. ) The children sit in a row opposite him. Everyone holds their palms in a “boat”. The leader imperceptibly throws an object into the palm of one of the players, trying to keep the intrigue. The owner of the “ring” does not show that he has the item. It is necessary to show acting skills so that no one guesses anything. Then the leader says the words: Ring-ring, go out onto the porch. The one who came across the ring must have time to jump up before the other participants in the game figure it out and do not try to grab it. nine0005

If you want to play something more active, offer the children another classic – Cossacks-robbers.

              2. Cossack robbers

Players form teams. One is the Cossacks, the second is the robbers. You can play with the whole yard, if desired, boys and girls can be divided into separate teams. The territory for the game is jointly determined. Robbers secretly from the Cossacks need to come up with a password. The task of the Cossacks is to find out this password. During the game, these players need to find out the secret word. nine0005

              How to play this game?

All Cossacks close their eyes and turn away. Robbers run and hide within the previously designated area, which is forbidden to go beyond by the rules. While escaping, players on the ground, trees, curbs, etc. leave signs for the Cossacks in the form of index arrows. The sign is intended to show the path of rogue players. Allowed to confuse the enemy. For example, draw a curved arrow or an arrow with two ends. The main thing is to confuse the traces as carefully as possible. nine0005

While the Rogues run and then hide, the Cossacks prepare a prison for them. To do this, you need to outline the area on the asphalt with chalk. You should give the robbers the opportunity to hide well, otherwise the game will quickly stop and it will not be interesting. Therefore, not earlier than a quarter of an hour later, the Cossacks can go looking for robbers.

When one of the Cossacks catches a robber, he puts him in jail. The goal is to find out the password. For this, torture is allowed – tickling, jokes, cunning leading questions, thanks to which the enemy loses his vigilance and gives out a secret word. nine0005

You probably won’t be able to catch some of the robbers. These players can try to free their comrades by attacking the prison. If the team of Cossacks manages to find out the password, it wins. The win is also counted if the Cossacks manage to catch all the robbers and put them in jail.

              Outdoor games with a ball

Outdoor games cannot be imagined without a ball – volleyball, football and the most common – big, small, multi-colored! The ball is a favorite of children’s games. nine0005

              1. Football

Football remains the most popular. Play with the whole yard! And if the child went out into the yard alone, he may well practice hitting on goal.

              2. Dodgeball

We throw the ball at each other, and the opponent must dodge the blow. If a player catches the ball, the one who threw the ball at him is out of the game.

              3. Kickball

You must have heard of the children’s version of baseball. During kickball, the player kicks the ball rather than using the bat. Everything else is like baseball. nine0005

              4. Horse

A variant of the game of basketball, in which you need to take turns throwing the ball into the ring from different points. When someone hits, others try to hit the ring from exactly the same place. Missed – add a letter to the word “horse”.

              5. Pig in the middle

One player is in the center, the other players throw the ball to each other. The one in the center is trying to catch the ball. When he catches, he takes the place of the one who threw the ball.

Conclusion. What games can be played outside?

Almost everyone remembers their childhood with nostalgia. Of course, it was different for each of us.

WHO today released new guidance on improving the survival and development of newborns born prematurely (less than 37 weeks gestation) or low birth weight (less than 2. 5 kg at birth).

The authors of the guidelines recommend that infant-adult skin contact – called kangaroo nursing – be established immediately after birth, without first placing the infant in an incubator. Such a significant departure from previous recommendations
and established clinical practice is explained by the fact that the possibility of close and inseparable contact of a premature infant with a close adult after birth is of great positive importance for the health of the child.

The guide also provides guidance on providing emotional, financial support and work placement services to families with extremely small and premature babies, as these families are often under extreme stress and stress.
difficulties, faced with the need to intensively nurse the baby and worry about his health.

“Premature babies can survive, thrive and make a difference in the world, but every child should be given a chance,” said WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus .
“The guide shows that improving the prospects for these tiny children does not always require the most high-tech solutions, but access to basic health services, based on the real needs of families.”

Prematurity is a major public health problem. It is estimated that each year 15 million babies, or more than one tenth of all newborns in the world, are born prematurely, and more than 20 million
      – have a low birth weight. This figure is on the rise, and prematurity is now the leading cause of death in children under five years of age.

A premature baby’s chances of survival still vary widely depending on the place of birth. While the majority of babies born at 28 weeks or later survive in high-income countries, rates in poorer countries
survival rates are sometimes as low as 10%.

In most cases, the premature baby can be saved with easily implemented and cost-effective methods, including quality care before, during and after delivery, prevention and treatment of common infections, and
also nursing the child by the kangaroo method, which involves the longest possible skin contact of the child in a special carrier or diaper with the adult closest to him (usually the mother) in combination with exclusive breastfeeding.

Premature infants do not have adequate body fat stores and after birth, independent thermoregulation is often difficult; they also often require respiratory support. Previously, such babies were recommended to be separated for the first time.
with a caretaker to stabilize the condition in an incubator or under a heater. This period lasted an average of three to seven days. However, research has now shown
that kangaroo nursing started immediately after birth saves more lives, reduces infection and hypothermia, and improves feeding performance.

“A parent’s first hug is not only emotionally important, but absolutely necessary to improve the chances of survival of small and premature babies and improve their health outcomes,” said medical officer of the WHO Newborn Health Division, Dr Karen Edmond .
“We know that many women have been unnecessarily separated from their babies throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, with catastrophic consequences for babies born prematurely or too young. The new guide emphasizes
the need to provide comprehensive care to families and their premature babies and to provide parents with the most effective support possible at a time when they often experience particular stress and anxiety.”

These new recommendations are especially relevant for poorer countries, which may lack high-tech equipment or even uninterrupted electricity, but are also relevant for high-income countries. The manual notes
the need to rethink the delivery of intensive neonatal care, ensuring the possibility of continuous cohabitation of parents and newborns.

To improve the health of preterm and low birth weight newborns, guidelines consistently recommend breastfeeding, as there is evidence that breastfeeding, in contrast to infant formula, reduces the risk of
infections. Donor milk is the best alternative in the absence of a mother’s milk, but where donor milk banks are not available, nutrient-fortified special preterm formulas may be used.

Based on family feedback from more than 200 studies, the guide also strongly recommends more emotional and financial support for caregivers of infants. The guide notes that parents
should be able to take parental leave, and public policies, regulations and benefits should provide adequate financial support and job placement services for families with preterm or
      underweight children.

Earlier this year, WHO issued related guidance on prenatal care for women at risk of preterm birth. Such therapy includes antenatal corticosteroids to prevent respiratory failure and reduce health risks in preterm infants, and tocolytic drugs to delay the onset of labor and buy time to complete corticosteroid treatment. For the first time since 2015, these two documents update WHO guidelines for the management of preterm and low birth weight infants.

This guideline was issued ahead of International Day of Prematurity, which is observed on 17 November each year.
