Hey fishes, urgent help….

I was forcefully released from HCL services saying my BGV is not clear and was released the very same day. Now I am being asked to pay for basic salary of 89 days notice period +18% GST.. WHAT TO DO PLEASE HELP. I am being asked to pay 1,65,000/- and I was forced to leave HCL in 22 days.

Since 6 months I am mailing them asking for clearance but they didn’t gave, now HR has also left the company, Please help what to do ..

Bengaluru company job profile seems more better and Pune company job profile seems less better.

Deloitte collaborates with SHL on tests. For each department Deloitte uses its own test, consisting of questions to test professional knowledge (accounting, finance, taxes), the level of knowledge of the English language, psychological, numerical, verbal and logical tests.

Important : Some departments use testing entirely in English. That is, all tests will not be in Russian, but in English. For example, this practice is used in the Deloitte office in Kyiv. For Kyiv, and other offices, knowledge of the English level is not lower than Upper-Intermediate according to TOEFL. Questions in English are also taken from TOEFL questionnaires. Deloitte English Proficiency Test

As we mentioned above, the Deloitte test is based on the Upper-Intermediate TOEFL tests. Usually there are 100 questions in the test, but the questions themselves, according to Deloitte employees, are not difficult. Usually they will include the following tasks:

  • insert an article or a missing word in a sentence
  • fix a mistake in sentence
  • choose a word similar in meaning
  • link a word and its description

The average passing score on the Deloitte English Proficiency Test is 75% correct. Note that most applicants score higher. A good score on this test counts towards your overall score on all tests.

The definition of test criteria and passing score is usually announced before the start of the test. It might sound like this: a passing score on the logic test, numerical and verbal tests – 60%, on the professional test – 70% and on the English language test – 75%. If your results turned out to be 55%, 75% and 85%, then the HR department of Deloitte usually meets halfway and with such a result for the rest of the tests, it counts you 55% for numerical tests as a passing one.

If the result of the applicant is 59%, 70% and 74%, then even such a small amount may not be enough to go to the next stage. Therefore, we recommend that you carefully prepare for testing so that your result is 80-90% in all tests and you, as a candidate for a Deloitte vacancy, are out of competition.

The result of passing the test in some departments is reported immediately, and in some it is necessary to wait from 2 to 7 days until HR specialists finish analyzing the data of all applicants.

Tests cut off up to 80% of unprepared applicants. Those applicants who have passed the test are invited to the first interview.

Initial interview

In Deloitte regional offices in recent years, this stage is omitted – after the tests you are immediately invited to an interview with the head of the department in which you want to get a job. But in Moscow, Kyiv and other capitals, the interview takes place in two stages:

  1. interview only with a Deloitte HR representative
  2. interview with 2-3 managers and head of department

The first interview will discuss your test scores and then the details of your resume. Questions might sound like this:

The Czech economy is facing a recession this year, caused by the energy crisis and inflation. Gross domestic product will fall by 1.1%, according to a study by the consulting company Deloitte.

Real wages will fall again this year, but unemployment in the Czech Republic should remain at its current level. The economic downturn also threatens to keep the state budget deficit projected at 295 billion crowns. At the same time, Deloitte notes that the economy has already deviated from a sustainable course.

“The main reason for the decline will be the ongoing decline in household consumption and the impact of high inflation on the decline in real incomes of the population. It is also expected that gross capital formation will decline by 3.1%. Due to rising costs and declining profitability, companies have to reduce investments, and projects in progress will be postponed to the future, ”said David Marek, chief economist at Deloitte.

According to the study, the weakening economy should not significantly affect the labor market. Unemployment will stagnate, but the number of vacancies will decrease. The risk of such a development of events lies in the continuation of the energy crisis. If energy prices forced many companies out of business, unemployment would rise. However, Deloitte points out that in the long term the Czech economy will face the opposite problem, with the population withdrawing from the labor market and companies not having enough employees.

According to the study, the long-term tense situation in the labor market will lead to an increase in nominal average wages by 4.3% despite the recession. However, due to continued high inflation, real wages should fall in the same way as last year: the decline in 2023 will be 3.7% after last year’s 8.2%.

In terms of inflation, Deloitte expects it to gradually decrease, with an average inflation rate of 8.5% for the whole year. “Raising inflation expectations remains the biggest risk. If it remains too high, the CNB will have to respond with a tighter monetary policy,” Marek said. According to the study, price growth should reach an equilibrium level of 2% no earlier than next year.

Finding quality, affordable Child Care near you has always been a problem in San Diego, even before the pandemic. Now, between managing new work environments like work from home, remote hybrid setups, and financial challenges, parents and families are unfortunately still stuck paying high costs for care. Parents in San Diego are especially familiar with this struggle, given that cost of living in San Diego is 6% higher than California’s average and 49% higher than that of the entire country! For California alone, Child Care is so expensive that California daycare average costs reached $1,412 per month in 2023 – the second highest in the nation, behind Massachusetts (which ranks #1 at $1,743).

How many Child Care providers are in San Diego?

Using TOOTRiS survey data, as of April 2023, there are currently 3,885 Child Care providers in San Diego. This include infant care, toddler, preschool and school-aged care providers!

If you’re living in the San Diego area and have just had your first child, there’s a good chance that Child Care – starting with infant care – is on your mind. For parents that need a straight answer to guide them down their Child Care path, we have answered some of the most important questions parents ask when trying to find care. Other Things to Consider

In a perfect world, Child Care would be as simple as possible: pay for Child Care – that’s it. Unfortunately, there are some additional considerations to be made when planning your family’s expenses.

Food
Many care providers provide snacks, meals, or both, but others might require that parents take charge of the child’s diet and pack them a lunch. Some providers may be able to provide vegetarian or vegan meals, and occasionally some may be able to satisfy specialized needs such as gluten free, or nut allergy requirements.

Extra Activities
Some care providers have other programs in addition to their normal care. They may offer second-language programs to further stimulate your child’s learning process or have field trips to add a little adventure to their program. Providers may also offer physical activities like karate, taekwondo, gymnastics, or interactive arts and crafts. Finally, providers may also charge extra if they have to perform extra care, such as diaper changes or doing laundry.

So really, what is the all-in cost?
The reality is that even having the data-breakdown for San Diego by region, it’s hard to put a pen to a checkbook without knowing the hard figures. While knowing the average cost helps to get an idea of how much of your budget care is going to take up, there are still many variables to consider. Wanting your child to take up karate, learn a second language, or simply be close to your home when at the care facility are all factors that will affect the price. When the eldest child went to kindergarten, I only took into account the cost of parental fees in advance.

I got used to buying clothes and toys for my child, which I buy rationally: I take clothes when I need them, toys when the child really wants something. In fact, the expenses turned out to be much more, although my child goes to a regular municipal kindergarten.

I’ll tell you what expenses are in kindergarten, what you can save on and what you pay for at your own request.

Parental fee

Amount: about 3500 ₽ per month, depending on the region and number of visits

Parental fee is the daily cost of public kindergarten services.

Art. 65 of the Federal Law “On Education”

When parents enter into an agreement with a kindergarten, the cost of one day is prescribed there. It is determined by the administration of the institution and regulated by regional legislation, which establishes the maximum amount of the fee.

The monthly amount depends on how many days the child went to kindergarten. If he falls ill or you want to miss the day for family reasons, you need to write to the teacher so that the child is taken off the diet. Then the days that he did not go to the garden will not have to be paid.

In 2023, one day costs 166.57 rubles. If the child walks for a whole month, in which there are 22 working days, then the fee for this time is 3665.54 ₽. Usually, once a year, the cost increases, and parents are given an additional agreement, which spells out the new cost for one day.

How to save money. The parental fee can be reduced. To do this, you need to write an application for compensation for its part. We are given such a statement in January of each year by the teacher of the group. The amount of compensation is set by the regional authorities, but according to the law there are minimum coefficients:

  1. For the first child – from 20% of the parental fee.
  2. For the second child — from 50%.
  3. For the third child and subsequent ones – from 70%.

In some regions, compensation is provided only to large or low-income families, for example, in the Yaroslavl region. In others, compensation may be increased for individual cases – as in the Sakhalin Region, where the compensation for the third child and subsequent ones is 100%.

We have no restrictions in Nizhny Novgorod. I receive a 20% compensation, since the first child goes to kindergarten. The money comes back to the card with which I pay the receipt for the parental fee.

Since September 2022, I have been paying for kindergarten with maternity capital, I talked about this in detail in another article. Since I have a parental fee compensation, there are nuances. Only 80% of the payment is transferred from the mother’s capital, and I pay the remaining 20%. But the same 20% is returned to my card as compensation.

Clothes

Amount: from 5000 ₽ per year

When my son went to kindergarten, he had a separate category of purchases – I call it “kindergarten clothes”. I heard a story from a friend how her friend spent 15,000 rubles to dress her child in kindergarten. Each parent decides for himself what clothes to buy and how much. I try to spend money rationally, and my amount came out much less – 5658 ₽.

In August, I inspect my garden clothes and buy what I need. Here are the main items of expenditure.

Casual wear. Now the set of everyday clothes for my son looks like this: two pairs of pants, four T-shirts, sandals. There are also spare pants and a T-shirt in the kindergarten, they were left over from last year.

Pants cost 768 ₽ — bought in Detsky Mir. Relatives gave two T-shirts to my son, I took the other two to Wildberry for 380 ₽ – after six months they are still in good condition. I bought sandals in Detsky Mir for 1000 ₽.

Even in the garden they ask to bring pajamas, but my son does not stay for an afternoon nap. Yes, and children still sleep in shorts and T-shirts, because it is warm in the kindergarten.

Clothes for physical education. Kindergarten PE classes usually require black shorts and a plain white T-shirt. I bought them in “Daughters⁠-⁠sons”, I paid 350 ₽ for everything. It is better to buy two such sets for a shift, you can get by with one, but you will have to wash it on the weekend. I bought only one, because we got the replacement one from our nephew. I need Czech shoes for my feet, I bought them at Sportmaster for 280 ₽.

Clothes for holidays. The son likes to dress “like a gentleman”, for this he has black trousers, a white shirt, a vest and a bow tie. This whole set would cost about 2500 ₽, but the son has been wearing trousers and a bow tie for the third year. Pants were the most expensive – 1500 ₽, bought at Acoola. This academic year, I only took a shirt and a vest from Detsky Mir for 700 ₽.

It is not necessary to dress the child in classic. Sometimes the son just wears jeans and a shirt. We don’t need to buy festive shoes – children put on Czech shoes for the holidays.

There are themed matinees when a child has a role, which means they need a costume. In this regard, we were lucky: the music director provided costumes for New Year’s matinees. My only waste was the purchase of drawing paper and gouache for a fly agaric hat for the autumn holiday.

Parent fees

Amount: about 2000 ₽ per year 900 03

Many parents have a bad attitude towards fees in kindergartens and schools. There are those who do not participate in them. And if we are talking about mandatory fees for repairs, then this is completely illegal – the kindergarten is obliged to ensure the maintenance of its buildings.

In our garden, this is really a parental initiative, which is organized voluntarily. Basically, these are birthday and New Year gifts for children, gifts for staff for holidays, educational materials, workbooks, small expenses for office supplies and a first aid kit. In general, everything that will help the child in development and leave him and his parents with pleasant impressions of going to kindergarten.

Usually we donate 2,000 ₽, but this academic year we rented an additional 1,000 ₽ for a kindergarten access card system – it was installed at the request of the parents.

Paid lessons

Amount: about 120 ₽ per lesson, additional 500 ₽ for workbooks

90 008 This academic year, paid school preparation classes and a theater studio appeared in our kindergarten. In the theater studio, children put on small performances. For example, in winter they performed in front of other children and their parents with the fairy tale “The Wolf and the Seven Kids”. But my son does not go there, as these classes overlap with his judo training.

But I signed him up for preschool classes. Lessons are held twice a week for 30 minutes. On them, children learn numbers, counting, reading. In March, an open lesson was held for parents, at which they showed how children learn letters and sounds in a playful way. The child likes to go to “Doshkolenok”, and I notice the result from these classes.

This is convenient when classes are held in a kindergarten and you don’t have to take your child anywhere, besides, it comes out on a budget. Both in the theater studio and in Doshkolenka, one lesson costs 126.46 ₽, you only need to pay for those classes that the child attended.

Workbooks had to be purchased for preparation. Two notebooks for work in the kindergarten “From A to Z” – 162 ₽ and “Counting to 10” – 75.6 ₽, one for homework “ABC. My first textbook” — 260 ₽. Notebooks were ordered for everyone by the parent committee, but they were thrown off for them separately, since not all children go to Preschool. Back in January, we bought a fan with vowels – 100 ₽.

Total: from 150 ₽ for one photo

Several times a year a photographer comes to the kindergarten and arranges a thematic photo session with children. Children are photographed with props, and then the photographer superimposes the appropriate background on the photo. Themes can be festive, such as New Year and May 9, or related to your favorite characters from cartoons and video games.

Cost from 150 to 800 ₽ – depending on the desired size and number of photos. Participation is voluntary, but usually parents do not want to leave their child alone when everyone is taking pictures. A couple of times my son skipped photo shoots, but of his own free will – he was not interested in topics.

I always choose the photo format 10 × 15, because it is convenient to store such photos in a children’s album – one photo costs 150 ₽. I take three copies: for myself and two grandmothers. It turns out that a photo session in kindergarten costs me 450 ₽.

Finding quality, affordable Child Care near you has always been a problem in San Diego, even before the pandemic. Now, between managing new work environments like work from home, remote hybrid setups, and financial challenges, parents and families are unfortunately still stuck paying high costs for care. Parents in San Diego are especially familiar with this struggle, given that cost of living in San Diego is 6% higher than California’s average and 49% higher than that of the entire country! For California alone, Child Care is so expensive that California daycare average costs reached $1,412 per month in 2023 – the second highest in the nation, behind Massachusetts (which ranks #1 at $1,743).

How many Child Care providers are in San Diego?

Using TOOTRiS survey data, as of April 2023, there are currently 3,885 Child Care providers in San Diego. This include infant care, toddler, preschool and school-aged care providers!

If you’re living in the San Diego area and have just had your first child, there’s a good chance that Child Care – starting with infant care – is on your mind. Other Things to Consider

In a perfect world, Child Care would be as simple as possible: pay for Child Care – that’s it. Unfortunately, there are some additional considerations to be made when planning your family’s expenses.

Food
Many care providers provide snacks, meals, or both, but others might require that parents take charge of the child’s diet and pack them a lunch. Some providers may be able to provide vegetarian or vegan meals, and occasionally some may be able to satisfy specialized needs such as gluten free, or nut allergy requirements.

Extra Activities
Some care providers have other programs in addition to their normal care. They may offer second-language programs to further stimulate your child’s learning process or have field trips to add a little adventure to their program. Providers may also offer physical activities like karate, taekwondo, gymnastics, or interactive arts and crafts. Finally, providers may also charge extra if they have to perform extra care, such as diaper changes or doing laundry.

So really, what is the all-in cost?
The reality is that even having the data-breakdown for San Diego by region, it’s hard to put a pen to a checkbook without knowing the hard figures. While knowing the average cost helps to get an idea of how much of your budget care is going to take up, there are still many variables to consider. Wanting your child to take up karate, learn a second language, or simply be close to your home when at the care facility are all factors that will affect the price. When the eldest child went to kindergarten, I only took into account the cost of parental fees in advance.

I got used to buying clothes and toys for my child, which I buy rationally: I take clothes when I need them, toys when the child really wants something. In fact, the expenses turned out to be much more, although my child goes to a regular municipal kindergarten.

I’ll tell you what expenses are in kindergarten, what you can save on and what you pay for at your own request.

Parental fee

Amount: about 3500 ₽ per month, depending on the region and number of visits

Parental fee is the daily cost of public kindergarten services.

Art. 65 of the Federal Law “On Education”

When parents enter into an agreement with a kindergarten, the cost of one day is prescribed there. It is determined by the administration of the institution and regulated by regional legislation, which establishes the maximum amount of the fee.

The monthly amount depends on how many days the child went to kindergarten. If he falls ill or you want to miss the day for family reasons, you need to write to the teacher so that the child is taken off the diet. Then the days that he did not go to the garden will not have to be paid.

In 2023, one day costs 166.57 rubles. If the child walks for a whole month, in which there are 22 working days, then the fee for this time is 3665.54 ₽. Usually, once a year, the cost increases, and parents are given an additional agreement, which spells out the new cost for one day.

How to save money. The parental fee can be reduced. To do this, you need to write an application for compensation for its part. We are given such a statement in January of each year by the teacher of the group. The amount of compensation is set by the regional authorities, but according to the law there are minimum coefficients:

  1. For the first child – from 20% of the parental fee.
  2. For the second child — from 50%.
  3. For the third child and subsequent ones – from 70%.

In some regions, compensation is provided only to large or low-income families, for example, in the Yaroslavl region. In others, compensation may be increased for individual cases – as in the Sakhalin Region, where the compensation for the third child and subsequent ones is 100%.

We have no restrictions in Nizhny Novgorod. I receive a 20% compensation, since the first child goes to kindergarten. The money comes back to the card with which I pay the receipt for the parental fee.

Since September 2022, I have been paying for kindergarten with maternity capital, I talked about this in detail in another article. Since I have a parental fee compensation, there are nuances. Only 80% of the payment is transferred from the mother’s capital, and I pay the remaining 20%. But the same 20% is returned to my card as compensation.

Clothes

Amount: from 5000 ₽ per year

When my son went to kindergarten, he had a separate category of purchases – I call it “kindergarten clothes”. I heard a story from a friend how her friend spent 15,000 rubles to dress her child in kindergarten. Each parent decides for himself what clothes to buy and how much. I try to spend money rationally, and my amount came out much less – 5658 ₽.

In August, I inspect my garden clothes and buy what I need. Here are the main items of expenditure.

Casual wear. Now the set of everyday clothes for my son looks like this: two pairs of pants, four T-shirts, sandals. There are also spare pants and a T-shirt in the kindergarten, they were left over from last year.

Pants cost 768 ₽ — bought in Detsky Mir. Relatives gave two T-shirts to my son, I took the other two to Wildberry for 380 ₽ – after six months they are still in good condition. I bought sandals in Detsky Mir for 1000 ₽.

Even in the garden they ask to bring pajamas, but my son does not stay for an afternoon nap. Yes, and children still sleep in shorts and T-shirts, because it is warm in the kindergarten.

Clothes for physical education. Kindergarten PE classes usually require black shorts and a plain white T-shirt. I bought them in “Daughters⁠-⁠sons”, I paid 350 ₽ for everything. It is better to buy two such sets for a shift, you can get by with one, but you will have to wash it on the weekend. I bought only one, because we got the replacement one from our nephew. I need Czech shoes for my feet, I bought them at Sportmaster for 280 ₽.

Clothes for holidays. The son likes to dress “like a gentleman”, for this he has black trousers, a white shirt, a vest and a bow tie. This whole set would cost about 2500 ₽, but the son has been wearing trousers and a bow tie for the third year. Pants were the most expensive – 1500 ₽, bought at Acoola. This academic year, I only took a shirt and a vest from Detsky Mir for 700 ₽.

It is not necessary to dress the child in classic. Sometimes the son just wears jeans and a shirt. We don’t need to buy festive shoes – children put on Czech shoes for the holidays.

There are themed matinees when a child has a role, which means they need a costume. In this regard, we were lucky: the music director provided costumes for New Year’s matinees. My only waste was the purchase of drawing paper and gouache for a fly agaric hat for the autumn holiday.

Parent fees

Many parents have a bad attitude towards fees in kindergartens and schools. There are those who do not participate in them. And if we are talking about mandatory fees for repairs, then this is completely illegal – the kindergarten is obliged to ensure the maintenance of its buildings.

In our garden, this is really a parental initiative, which is organized voluntarily. Basically, these are birthday and New Year gifts for children, gifts for staff for holidays, educational materials, workbooks, small expenses for office supplies and a first aid kit. In general, everything that will help the child in development and leave him and his parents with pleasant impressions of going to kindergarten.

Usually we donate 2,000 ₽, but this academic year we rented an additional 1,000 ₽ for a kindergarten access card system – it was installed at the request of the parents.

Paid lessons

Amount: about 120 ₽ per lesson, additional 500 ₽ for workbooks

90 008 This academic year, paid school preparation classes and a theater studio appeared in our kindergarten. In the theater studio, children put on small performances. For example, in winter they performed in front of other children and their parents with the fairy tale “The Wolf and the Seven Kids”. But my son does not go there, as these classes overlap with his judo training.

But I signed him up for preschool classes. Lessons are held twice a week for 30 minutes. On them, children learn numbers, counting, reading. In March, an open lesson was held for parents, at which they showed how children learn letters and sounds in a playful way. The child likes to go to “Doshkolenok”, and I notice the result from these classes.

This is convenient when classes are held in a kindergarten and you don’t have to take your child anywhere, besides, it comes out on a budget. Both in the theater studio and in Doshkolenka, one lesson costs 126.46 ₽, you only need to pay for those classes that the child attended.

Workbooks had to be purchased for preparation. Two notebooks for work in the kindergarten “From A to Z” – 162 ₽ and “Counting to 10” – 75.6 ₽, one for homework “ABC. My first textbook” — 260 ₽. Notebooks were ordered for everyone by the parent committee, but they were thrown off for them separately, since not all children go to Preschool. Back in January, we bought a fan with vowels – 100 ₽.

Total: from 150 ₽ for one photo

Several times a year a photographer comes to the kindergarten and arranges a thematic photo session with children. Children are photographed with props, and then the photographer superimposes the appropriate background on the photo. Themes can be festive, such as New Year and May 9, or related to your favorite characters from cartoons and video games.

Cost from 150 to 800 ₽ – depending on the desired size and number of photos. Participation is voluntary, but usually parents do not want to leave their child alone when everyone is taking pictures. A couple of times my son skipped photo shoots, but of his own free will – he was not interested in topics.

I always choose the photo format 10 × 15, because it is convenient to store such photos in a children’s album – one photo costs 150 ₽. I take three copies: for myself and two grandmothers. It turns out that a photo session in kindergarten costs me 450 ₽.

Parents of a child usually receive detailed information about the composition of the parental fee from the administration of the kindergarten before visiting it.

Board sizing

The amount of the parental fee for kindergarten is formed on the basis of several factors. The status of the family and the level of income of the parents are of primary importance. The higher the income, the higher the parental fee will be.

Kindergarten “Korablik” The history of the creation of the kindergarten

In the district town of Gavrilov-Yam on Yubileyny Proezd Street, surrounded by multi-storey residential buildings, there is the largest and most beautiful kindergarten. This is a private pre-school educational institution “Kindergarten” Korablik “, the founder of which is the city-forming enterprise OJSC GMZ “Agat”.
The kindergarten was opened on August 18, 1986. A new, cozy 13-group home for kids was accepted by the manager Vedernikova Nina Nikolaevna. She was appointed to the position long before the opening of the kindergarten, so she witnessed its laying and construction, took a direct part in its staffing and opening. And on September 1, 1986, the sonorous voices of the children and the emotional speech of novice teachers sounded in spacious groups. Kindergarten built according to a standard design, meets hygienic and sanitary requirements.

Colorful facade, cozy territory, well-groomed flower gardens will not leave indifferent anyone who has been here at least once visited.

Passing along the corridors, parents and guests get acquainted with a business card – a large stand “The ship is this”, where photos of all kindergarten employees, photos of children and parents, information about the kindergarten, symbols of the kindergarten: anthem, emblem, in development

Every morning children from 1 to 7 years old rush to the kindergarten. Everyone rushes to their group. A feature of our kindergarten is a swimming pool, a gym, a music room, a teacher-psychologist’s office and a sensory room, a speech therapist’s office, a winter garden, a phytobar, a doctor’s office, a physiotherapy room, and a treatment room. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) helps parent(s) who are working or in school pay for child care through the Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC) program. 

You may be required to pay for part of your child care in the form of a copayment as determined by ODJFS. The amount you pay is based on your gross income and family size.

How to decide whether to send a child to the PCU or hire a nanny for him?

What is a short stay group in kindergarten?

In contrast to the nursery, where children under three years of age are sent for a full day, children spend only 3 hours in the PCG. To exaggerate, we can say that this is a kind of express nursery that solves the following tasks:

  • child’s socialization;
  • adapting it to the conditions of being in kindergarten;
  • all-round development, strengthening of physical, mental and emotional health in accordance with the age and individual abilities of the baby.

The peculiarities of short-stay groups are that educators in them do not just look after the child during the day and from time to time conduct games and activities, but in conditions of limited time develop his memory, thinking, imagination to the fullest, teach him to interact with other children instill skills for independence.

Does a child need a nanny?

Many parents choose a nanny as an alternative to kindergartens in general and PCU in particular. Advantages of this solution:

  • The child is supervised at all times.
  • An individual regimen is observed – feeding, walking, sleeping.
  • They play with him and conduct training sessions.

Cons: You cannot be absolutely sure that he will be provided with all the listed pluses. Letting a stranger into the house, even if he has a pile of positive recommendations and a crust of a graduate of a pedagogical university, you rely only on his good intentions and responsibility.

Short stay groups also have their strengths and weaknesses. Their advantages:

  • Socialization. The child communicates with peers and with adult teachers, learns to adequately respond to the manifestation of attention to him from strangers and interact with them kindly.
  • Developing lessons. The GKP provides for all types of activities aimed at the development of the baby – modeling, drawing, design, physical education, music, etc.
  • Watching other children, the child acquires new skills in using the objects of the world around him, learns independence.

Minuses:

  • The GKP does not provide for children’s food, only drinking regimen. Therefore, before taking a child to a group, you need to make sure that he is full.
  • All children are different and react differently to parental care. The teacher and new toys will be able to captivate someone immediately, and someone may not be ready to part with their mother, despite all the efforts of the teacher.
  • In the PCG, as in the full day kindergarten group, a child can become infected with airborne diseases.

When asking yourself the question “Which is better for a child – a nanny or a GKP?”, carefully weigh all the pros and cons of one and the other solution.

How to get into a short stay group

Short stay groups work, as a rule, in all kindergartens. But before you send your child to the closest preschool to your home, visit it and make sure that the conditions offered there suit you:

  • Not all PCUs allow parents to attend classes with their children, even for the first time, or to pick up the child earlier than expected.
  • The number of children in a group can also vary greatly. Make sure that it is minimal compared to the usual group – preferably no more than 10 babies.
  • Talk to caregivers, you should assess who you trust the child. In addition, often in the PCU, parents will be introduced to educational play sessions: make sure that the caregivers are ready to interact with you.

Summer is coming! A time when kids & families are looking for free Summer activities to do close to home — and most of us parents are hoping that it’s not all tech time 😉

There are a number of FREE programs & events near you that your kids can try this summer.  Inspire them to learn a new skill, earn badges or pins and have a great time with other kids!

Summer is the perfect time to try out something new — you never know what your kids will gravitate to unless you introduce them to new things!

My favorite part about these programs & workshops are that most of the activities are only a few hours a day. So they give kids an opportunity to explore something unique without investing a ton of time (or money).

A quick warning — some of the camps and workshops will fill up quickly!! Call ahead to reserve a spot if it’s possible — don’t tell your kids until you know they can get in 😉

Also, be sure to ask about the parent/child policy at each of the events & activities.  Some programs require a parent to stay onsite during the duration of the program.

1. Kids Bowl Free Summer Programs for Kids

One of the longer standing summer programs, kids receive 2 free games of bowling every day all summer long!  Search their website to find bowling alleys all over the United States & Canada that participate.   There are quite a few who are opening up bowling activities this summer after being closed last year.

This is a great option for those hot days when you’re looking for a good indoor activity — especially for a group of kids too.  The age requirement varies depending on your local bowling alley. The website gives you details on who can participate (kids as young as 2 years old up thru teenagers can bowl at most locations)!

2. Michael’s Summer Craft Workshops for Kids

We LOVE the summer craft sessions at Michael’s!  Camp Creatology Workshops for Kids begins in June at stores in both the U.S. and Canada.  This close-to-home camp offers fun themed craft sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the summer months!

Past themes include: Forest Friends, Ocean Animals, Outer Space and Fantasy Fun.  The crafts offered are fun for kids ages 4 – 12 years old.  The sessions are also offered online too if you can’t make it in person. Check out our 30+ Free Online Summer Camps & Workshops to learn more.

3. Lowe’s Kids DIY Building Workshops

For building fun, make sure to check out the Free Lowe’s Kids Workshops usually held on the second weekend of each month at most Lowe’s stores.

We love these workshops!  Projects vary for each one but the best part is that kids get to complete a cool project all on their own using kid-sized tools.  And yes, swinging a hammer or using a screwdriver is usually part of the project 😉

Some stores are doing in-person workshops and others will have you pick up the project kit in the store and take it home to work on with your kids. In our experience, these programs are best for kids ages 3 – 10 years old (especially if your kiddos haven’t yet had the opportunity to use tools!) pssst … they also have awesome DIY workshops for adults too.

4. Apple Stores Free Summer Programs for Kids Near Me

Did you know that Apple Stores offer FREE youth workshops and Apple Camp for Kids?

Whether you own an iPhone or iPad, these sessions offer your kids the opportnity to learn about the programs and apps for their Apple devices.   Kids & teens can learn photography, make movies, create music and how to program devices.

Junior Ranger Programs for Kids at National Parks (& at Home!)

We are huge fans of the Junior Ranger program at the National Parks.  Be sure to read ‘Why We Love the Junior Ranger Programs‘ for details!

Almost all of the national parks and many of the national historic sites host these FREE programs for kids, tweens & teens.  To earn a Junior Ranger badge or certificate:

  • Kids will pick up or download an activity book for each park or site
  • Visit the park or historic site and complete the activities in the booklet,
  • Once you complete the activities for their age, turn the booklet in at a ranger station & kids will earn their  Junior Ranger status along with a certificate, pin or patch (varies by park).

6.  Free Kids Nature Camps & Activities Near Me

Always check with your local nature center as many offer some amazing workshops for kids throughout the summer months!  We’ve attended family hikes, animal visits, naturalist programs, archery clinics and more programs that cover outdoor skills.

Additional topics might include:  how to read trails signs, tips for hiking, identifying local wildlife, bird-watching, how to read a compass, and nighttime programs which are really cool since they usually involve owls, stars and flashlights!

Here’s how to find nature programs near you:

  • Use this list at Wikipedia to locate a local or state-supported nature center near you.
  • Check the local website for a calendar that lists summer workshops/events
  • Or give them a call and ask about any offerings they have for kids and families!

 

7. At-Home Maker Camp Activities for Kids

We love this option for STEM camps! Maker Camps are offered through a variety of organizations usually start mid-June.  Your kids can join in to build & create some really cool projects for six weeks over the summer.

Use the Maker Camp Map to find a location near you.  Most of the FREE camps are offered via libraries and schools.

If you’re not able to find a camp in your area, check out the Maker Camp Library for activities to do at home.  Kids, tweens & teens can start any of the past years’ activities & projects at home.  Directions and supplies needed are all listed online.

8. FREE Fishing Days Near You

Teach kids a new life sport – the folks at Take Me Fishing offer FREE fishing days in all US States!  All you’ll need is a kid-sized fishing pole and snacks (cause let me tell you, kids always seem to get hungry when they’re waiting on a fish 😉

Most days are in the month of June and kids won’t need a license.   Many local parks and sports stores near you will have events during these days too.  And check the details because some states will also waive license fees for adults on those days/weekends.

9. Free Museum Programs for All Ages

Believe it or not, many art museums offer FREE admission every day. And quite a few will have summer activities, scavenger hunts and other fun programs when you visit!

May is always that time I start planning for warmer weather and (this summer especially) hunting down some fun & free summer activities near me for both kids and our family. Every year in early May, I start our ‘Summer Activities’ list — a collaborative collection of all the fun things we’d like to do during the next few months. We love looking for local fun around our city and enjoying some of those throw-back, vintage-type activities that are perfect for summer days and nights.

Our main goal when it comes to summer fun is to make memories!  We love to hear our kids recall some of the unique experiences they’ve enjoyed.  And we’ve quickly realized that many of these memories are made without spending a dime.

Sometimes we get all caught up in the BIG stuff that we forget how memorable the small items can be too.

There are a number of creative activities & classic experiences kids can do around the house and in their own backyard!  Here are a few:

Non-traditional Olympic Games

  3. “5 rings”. You will need 5 rings painted in Olympic colors. You can cut them out of regular cardboard or disposable plates. Also prepare 5 wooden sticks that need to be driven into the ground. Children will have to throw rings from a distance of 4-5 steps. The most accurate participant wins.
  4. Weightlifters. Add weight to soft plastic balls or tennis balls by writing the numbers 5 to infinity on them. Then they must be placed in a large box. The task of the competition is to hold as many balls as possible in your hands, choosing those with the highest “value”. The winner is the weightlifter who manages to hold the “greatest weight”.
  5. B ox”. The boxing ring is marked and the presenter invites the boxers to the fight. Sets them up for a serious boxing match, offers to wear gloves (you can take work gloves). When the opponents are ready and waiting for the team to start the fight, the leader suddenly declares that the word “box” is translated from English as “box” and changes the task for the players: they must throw boxes of different sizes at a distance.   4. “Music break”. Teams are invited to create an ensemble and, using newspaper sheets as musical instruments, play the “Song of Summer” (“That’s what our summer is like . ..”). You can pat, tear newspapers or rustle them.
  5. “Gazetobol”. Balls crumpled from newspapers will be used for throwing. Instead of a basket, you can use a cardboard box. Throws can be very different: with the right and left hand, from behind the head, from under the foot, turning your back, etc.
  6. Origami. Faster than rivals to fold an airplane, a boat, a cap from a newspaper sheet.
  7. “Jet aircraft”. Purpose: to launch your paper plane further than your rivals. Use the airplanes folded in the previous contest.
  8. Water Carrier. Carry water in newspaper bags, trying to fill your glass faster than your rivals.
  9. Fanball. Make a fan out of newspaper sheets for each participant. With their help, you need to throw a balloon on the enemy field. Task: prevent the ball from falling on your site.

  16. Sculptors. Tear a sheet of newspaper to give it a finished shape, eg stars, flowers, snowflakes. The “sculptor” who created the most beautiful and original figure wins.
  17. Tyr. Forming newspaper balls, knock down a plastic bottle.
  18. Surprise. Any object is wrapped in a large number of layers of newsprint. The winner is the team that gets the gift the fastest.

Match Tournament

This play program for kids consists of fun relay races and easy speed challenges. Children of any age and in any quantity can participate. Both individual and team championships are possible.

For the tournament you will need matchboxes with matches.

The player or team that completed the task first is awarded 3 points, the second – 2, and the third – 1. The winner of the competition is the player or team with the most points according to the results of all competitions.

You can keep score using potatoes, sticking matches into them according to the number of points scored in the competition. At the end of the game program, it remains only to count the number of matches in the potatoes of each team.

Summer is coming! A time when kids & families are looking for free Summer activities to do close to home — and most of us parents are hoping that it’s not all tech time 😉

There are a number of FREE programs & events near you that your kids can try this summer.  Inspire them to learn a new skill, earn badges or pins and have a great time with other kids!

Summer is the perfect time to try out something new — you never know what your kids will gravitate to unless you introduce them to new things!

My favorite part about these programs & workshops are that most of the activities are only a few hours a day. So they give kids an opportunity to explore something unique without investing a ton of time (or money).

A quick warning — some of the camps and workshops will fill up quickly!! Call ahead to reserve a spot if it’s possible — don’t tell your kids until you know they can get in 😉

Also, be sure to ask about the parent/child policy at each of the events & activities.  Some programs require a parent to stay onsite during the duration of the program.

1. Kids Bowl Free Summer Programs for Kids

One of the longer standing summer programs, kids receive 2 free games of bowling every day all summer long!  Search their website to find bowling alleys all over the United States & Canada that participate.   There are quite a few who are opening up bowling activities this summer after being closed last year.

This is a great option for those hot days when you’re looking for a good indoor activity — especially for a group of kids too.  The age requirement varies depending on your local bowling alley. The website gives you details on who can participate (kids as young as 2 years old up thru teenagers can bowl at most locations)!

2. Michael’s Summer Craft Workshops for Kids

We LOVE the summer craft sessions at Michael’s!  Camp Creatology Workshops for Kids begins in June at stores in both the U.S. and Canada.  This close-to-home camp offers fun themed craft sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during the summer months!

Past themes include: Forest Friends, Ocean Animals, Outer Space and Fantasy Fun.  The crafts offered are fun for kids ages 4 – 12 years old.  The sessions are also offered online too if you can’t make it in person. Check out our 30+ Free Online Summer Camps & Workshops to learn more.

3. Lowe’s Kids DIY Building Workshops

For building fun, make sure to check out the Free Lowe’s Kids Workshops usually held on the second weekend of each month at most Lowe’s stores.

We love these workshops!  Projects vary for each one but the best part is that kids get to complete a cool project all on their own using kid-sized tools.  And yes, swinging a hammer or using a screwdriver is usually part of the project 😉

Some stores are doing in-person workshops and others will have you pick up the project kit in the store and take it home to work on with your kids. In our experience, these programs are best for kids ages 3 – 10 years old (especially if your kiddos haven’t yet had the opportunity to use tools!) pssst … they also have awesome DIY workshops for adults too.

Register early for these – they are popular!

4. Apple Stores Free Summer Programs for Kids Near Me

Did you know that Apple Stores offer FREE youth workshops and Apple Camp for Kids?

Whether you own an iPhone or iPad, these sessions offer your kids the opportnity to learn about the programs and apps for their Apple devices.   Kids & teens can learn photography, make movies, create music and how to program devices.

Junior Ranger Programs for Kids at National Parks (& at Home!)

We are huge fans of the Junior Ranger program at the National Parks.  Be sure to read ‘Why We Love the Junior Ranger Programs‘ for details!

Almost all of the national parks and many of the national historic sites host these FREE programs for kids, tweens & teens.  To earn a Junior Ranger badge or certificate:

  • Kids will pick up or download an activity book for each park or site
  • Visit the park or historic site and complete the activities in the booklet,
  • Once you complete the activities for their age, turn the booklet in at a ranger station & kids will earn their  Junior Ranger status along with a certificate, pin or patch (varies by park).

6.  Free Kids Nature Camps & Activities Near Me

Always check with your local nature center as many offer some amazing workshops for kids throughout the summer months!  We’ve attended family hikes, animal visits, naturalist programs, archery clinics and more programs that cover outdoor skills.

Additional topics might include:  how to read trails signs, tips for hiking, identifying local wildlife, bird-watching, how to read a compass, and nighttime programs which are really cool since they usually involve owls, stars and flashlights!

Here’s how to find nature programs near you:

  • Check the local website for a calendar that lists summer workshops/events
  • Or give them a call and ask about any offerings they have for kids and families!

 

7. At-Home Maker Camp Activities for Kids

We love this option for STEM camps! Maker Camps are offered through a variety of organizations usually start mid-June.  Your kids can join in to build & create some really cool projects for six weeks over the summer.

Use the Maker Camp Map to find a location near you.  Most of the FREE camps are offered via libraries and schools.

If you’re not able to find a camp in your area, check out the Maker Camp Library for activities to do at home.  Kids, tweens & teens can start any of the past years’ activities & projects at home.  Directions and supplies needed are all listed online.

8. FREE Fishing Days Near You

Teach kids a new life sport – the folks at Take Me Fishing offer FREE fishing days in all US States!  All you’ll need is a kid-sized fishing pole and snacks (cause let me tell you, kids always seem to get hungry when they’re waiting on a fish 😉

Most days are in the month of June and kids won’t need a license.   Many local parks and sports stores near you will have events during these days too.  And check the details because some states will also waive license fees for adults on those days/weekends.

9. Free Museum Programs for All Ages

Believe it or not, many art museums offer FREE admission every day. And quite a few will have summer activities, scavenger hunts and other fun programs when you visit!

Every year in early May, I start our ‘Summer Activities’ list — a collaborative collection of all the fun things we’d like to do during the next few months. We love looking for local fun around our city and enjoying some of those throw-back, vintage-type activities that are perfect for summer days and nights.

Our main goal when it comes to summer fun is to make memories!  We love to hear our kids recall some of the unique experiences they’ve enjoyed.  And we’ve quickly realized that many of these memories are made without spending a dime.

Sometimes we get all caught up in the BIG stuff that we forget how memorable the small items can be too.

For example, have your kids ever:

There are a number of creative activities & classic experiences kids can do around the house and in their own backyard!  Here are a few:

  4. Weightlifters. Add weight to soft plastic balls or tennis balls by writing the numbers 5 to infinity on them. Then they must be placed in a large box. The task of the competition is to hold as many balls as possible in your hands, choosing those with the highest “value”. The winner is the weightlifter who manages to hold the “greatest weight”.
  5. B ox”. The boxing ring is marked and the presenter invites the boxers to the fight. Sets them up for a serious boxing match, offers to wear gloves (you can take work gloves).   5. “Gazetobol”. Balls crumpled from newspapers will be used for throwing. Instead of a basket, you can use a cardboard box. Throws can be very different: with the right and left hand, from behind the head, from under the foot, turning your back, etc.
  6. Origami. Faster than rivals to fold an airplane, a boat, a cap from a newspaper sheet.
  7. “Jet aircraft”. Purpose: to launch your paper plane further than your rivals. Use the airplanes folded in the previous contest.
  8. Water Carrier. Carry water in newspaper bags, trying to fill your glass faster than your rivals.
  9. Fanball. Make a fan out of newspaper sheets for each participant. With their help, you need to throw a balloon on the enemy field. Task: prevent the ball from falling on your site.
  10. “Useful reading”. Each team should be given the same copy of the newspaper. The host announces a word or phrase that is somewhere on the pages of these newspapers. The team that finds the given word faster will be the winner.
  11. Accountants. In a certain paragraph, count the number of punctuation marks and letters. Whoever gets the number right the fastest is the winner.
  12. Experts. Purpose: to find out who knows the names of newspapers more. You can call in order. The team that, in turn, could not remember anything else, loses. You can write the names on a piece of paper, then the leader simply counts the number of names.
  13. “Crossing”. Reach the finish line using two newspapers. You should shift newspapers, stepping from one to another.
  14. “Islands”. The spread newspaper should fit as many team members as possible. If the teams are small in composition, then the newspapers should be folded.
  15. Fashion designers. Create a dress or costume from a few sheets of newspaper and tape and hold a fashion show.
  16. Sculptors. Tear a sheet of newspaper to give it a finished shape, eg stars, flowers, snowflakes. The “sculptor” who created the most beautiful and original figure wins.
  17. Tyr. Forming newspaper balls, knock down a plastic bottle.
  18. Surprise. Any object is wrapped in a large number of layers of newsprint. The winner is the team that gets the gift the fastest.
  19. “No matter how long the rope winds…” Twist a “rope” of maximum length from newspapers. The time to complete the task is 2 minutes. Which team has the longest rope wins.
  20. Waste paper collectors – final competition. After the previous competitions, for sure, there will be a lot of paper lying around. With this final team challenge, you can kill two birds with one stone: hold a final contest and clean up the mess by cleaning up the area. Give each team one trash bag and ask them to collect all the trash that is nearby. The team with the heaviest bag at the end of the competition wins.

Match Tournament

This play program for kids consists of fun relay races and easy speed challenges. Children of any age and in any quantity can participate. Both individual and team championships are possible.

For the tournament you will need matchboxes with matches.

The player or team that completed the task first is awarded 3 points, the second – 2, and the third – 1. The winner of the competition is the player or team with the most points according to the results of all competitions.

You can keep score using potatoes, sticking matches into them according to the number of points scored in the competition. At the end of the game program, it remains only to count the number of matches in the potatoes of each team.
