“My daughter has been in the care of these amazing people since she was two years old. She is currently 4.5 and has confidence in her reading and writing with the help of her amazing teachers. She knows more Spanish than me due to their weekly Spanish Tudor. I was the mom that refused to leave after dropping her off for the first time and I quickly got over my fears as I watched the employees worked together like a family for my family. ”

“This location is seriously THE BEST!! My kids love their teachers! They send updates and photos of your child throughout the day. The tell you how long they napped and how much of their food they ate. The staff is all so friendly. Very family oriented. I’m so glad and blessed my kids have attended here.”

Central Children’s Museum on Lubyanka invites you to the children’s fashion festival
On March 25 and 26, 2023, the Central Children’s Store on Lubyanka will host the children’s fashion festival KIDS FASHION WEEK, organized by the Grani production center. An extensive festive program awaits guests: shows of spring collections of clothes for children from leading designers, fashion shows, creative workshops, dance flash mobs, open meetings with fashion experts. The main event of the festival will be the presentation of the art project “Frontiers of the World”, dedicated to the national costumes of the peoples of Russia. Free admission.
“The Central Children’s Museum on Lubyanka is a unique venue for events of any scale. At the end of March, we host a large children’s fashion festival that brings together hundreds of participants from different regions of Russia. In addition to well-known brands at KIDS FASHION WEEK, young designers who are just starting their creative path will also present collections for children. As always, the guests of the CDM will be able not only to become spectators, but also to plunge into the fashion industry with the help of creative workshops and flash mobs,” commented Svetlana Farnieva, General Director of the CDM on Lubyanka.
On March 25 and 26, the Central Children’s Museum on Lubyanka will turn into one of the most fashionable venues in the city. In the historical space of the main atrium, a podium for the defile will be built. Screenings will run from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. More than 500 young models from different regions of Russia will take part in them.
On the first day, March 25, Russian and foreign brands will show their spring collections: Little Lady, Choupette, Stilnyashka, Original Marines, Boboli, L’erede, Fidgilia, Pinko. At the end of the first day, the guests will find a fashion show performed by the pupils of the production center “Grani” – “Mirror Fashion Show”, created especially for the Central House of Music by the chief director of the festival Valery Sorokov.
The second day of the festival, March 26, will open a show by designer, fashion historian, costume designer Igor Dadiani. During the fashion show, guests will see unique designer costumes and get acquainted with the masterpieces of the world of haute couture. The culmination of the festival will be the presentation of the art project “Frontiers of the World” – children from different parts of Russia will demonstrate the beauty of the national costumes of their regions. The project is supported by an ethnic singer, poet, writer and composer Gurude, who will perform a concert program at the Central House of Music. Young Russian designers have created a unique dress specially for the Edge of the World, which symbolizes modern Moscow – it will be shown for the first time at KIDS FASHION WEEK. At the end of the show, a large-scale flash mob of all participants will take place to the song of the young singer and actress Taisiya Skomorokhova – Made in Russia.
On March 26, young participants will be supported by models of the older generation: they will present collections from Dushegreya, Sorvalo, Marco Moretti brands. The adult fashion show will be held with the participation of pop and television stars. KIDS FASHION WEEK at the Central House of Music will close with a grandiose performance with large balloons Multi Color Show By Grany.

America’s largest Russian cemetery About 7,000 of our former compatriots are buried here, a small part of those Russians who once found (or tried to find) their second homeland in America.
Immigration is like millstones – they grind everything that gets into them. And pretty soon people begin to dissolve in the new world around them and lose their roots. Most lose. And they turn into ordinary Americans with unusual-sounding surnames. Most likely, this large Russian cemetery would not exist if it were not for one unifying factor – most of those buried here were Orthodox.
This is a very strange place. In general, it is strange to see so many crosses with Russian surnames in a small town in the state of New York. There was just a highway, then a road to a shopping center and a turn to a huge hypermarket, and right opposite, among the trees, stands an overgrown and slightly dilapidated monastery with shiny domes and a huge cemetery, where Orthodox crosses block each other in rows. Citizens of a once huge and great country, which has long since disappeared, are buried there. A country that we know about only from textbooks and books and about the death of which we were told from childhood is not at all what it really was. In the stories of these heroes became scoundrels, and scoundrels became real heroes. Everything is so mixed up in life and in the minds that it is almost impossible to figure out who is who.

1. This is the most non-American cemetery that I have seen in America and the most non-Russian of the Russians. The first thing that catches your eye is the absence of fences and photographs. By the way, does anyone know why it is customary to fence off plots in Russian cemeteries? All my life I have been wondering why our people have such a love for fences during life and after death. So there are no fences here. Almost identical crosses made of gray granite and the same identical tombstones. There are no photographs or any portraits of the deceased on the tombstones. More precisely, almost none. Portraits are rarely found on more recent burials and very rarely on older ones. The first burials date back to the beginning of the 50s. It was then that a convent was created and a cemetery was equipped. What caught my eye was the unusual surnames. Lots of German. There are many Russified Polish and not a single one similar to the Jewish one. Maybe there were, but I didn’t see them. Even Russian surnames are different. I have never heard of such people in my life. 2. The cemetery is located on the territory of the Novo-Diveevsky Assumption Monastery, which belongs to the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. You can read about the monastery on Wikipedia. 3. The monastery was founded in the early 50s and is now going through far from the best years of its life. 4. Right behind the fence is a huge building supermarket. Once about this place it could be said that it is located far from the city. After the construction of the Tappan Zee bridge, the area began to rapidly build up and now it is a nearby suburb. Now all the free land has already been somehow mastered and built up. The Orthodox monastery looks somewhat alien there. 5. It is possible that the gray weather and the lack of greenery on the trees are to blame, but it seemed to me that everything looked a little faded and a little unkempt. It can be seen that the monastery does not have enough money and workers to properly care for the buildings and the territory. 6. Such announcements are clearly not from a good life. 7. Inside the main temple is clean and comfortable. It was closed, but the nun kindly opened it for us and, in order not to waste time, took up cleaning.
The Orthodox Church in America is the subject of a separate discussion. It is completely different here than in Russia. In my opinion, much less commercialized and somehow closer to people. I’m not talking about religious rites, but about the relationship between parishioners and the church.
8. The monastery collects donations and offers to join him on Facebook. 9. Behind the monastery buildings begins the territory of the cemetery. It has many famous names on it. I did not set myself the task of looking for anyone, but simply walked around its territory and photographed what I found interesting. 10. There are also two very controversial memorials in the cemetery. This is probably the most. It was erected in memory of the “fallen in the struggle for a free Russia”, and in honor of a man who never set foot on American soil, whose ashes were poured into a ditch thousands of kilometers away. 11. This is a memorial to “participants in the liberation movement of the peoples of Russia 1941-1945″ General Vlasov and soldiers of the Russian Liberation Army. In fact, for the most part, collaborators and traitors to the motherland who went over to the side of the enemy. All this under the Russian and St. Andrew’s flags, which were used by the ROA as symbols. 12. There is also a chapel dedicated to the soldiers of the Russian Corps. Here everything is even more complicated than with Vlasov. The fighters of the Russian Corps were not citizens of the USSR (that is, they did not betray their country), did not go over to the side of the enemy (communism was their enemy) and fought for the freedom of Russia. But they fought by making a deal with the devil – swearing allegiance to the Fuhrer, being a division of the Wehrmacht and the ROA (from 1944), fighting (at the end of the war) against the Soviet troops and receiving awards from the hands of the Germans. You can read more about the Russian Corps on Wikipedia.
I will refrain from judging because my task is to tell and show what is. Let me just remind you that the memorials were erected at a private monastery cemetery, erected in the 60s of the last century (in difficult times), and the people to whom they are dedicated have long been dead. It is interesting to hear your opinion. Especially at the expense of the fighters of the Russian Corps. Who are they: heroes of a disappeared country or traitors who collaborated with the enemy?
13. Now it will be clearer to you why a cross with the inscription RK is stamped on some plates and what it means. Let’s go to the cemetery. 14. Mstislav Lvovich Golitsin – prince, member of the White movement in the South of Russia, captain of the division of His Imperial Majesty’s Own Convoy. Member of the First World War. After the October Revolution of 1917 – in the White troops in the South of Russia. Evacuated from the Crimea as part of the Russian army. Member of the fighting in Yugoslavia against the pro-Soviet partisans J. B. Tito (1941-1945) and Soviet troops (1944). Ober-lieutenant of the Wehrmacht (as of September 1944 with the renaming of the Russian service in the Esauls). February 26, 1945 wounded in battle near Budzhanovtsy station. After May 1945 – in Austria, from where he moved to the USA. Participated in the life of the Cossack and Russian military organizations, chairman of the New York department of the SchRK (Union of the ranks of the Russian Corps). 15. The son of Baron Wrangel – Peter. He worked all his life as an engineer in the field of aeronautics, was engaged in the design of spacecraft for the flight to the moon. His mother, Olga Mikhailovna, is buried in the same cemetery. 16. Masya and Grinya. 17. Cadet of the Imperial Navy. 18. Russian name and French surname. 19. Dobzhansky Arnold Iosifovich – Russian naval officer, staff captain in the admiralty. Member of the Civil War on the side of the whites. During the Civil War he was in the Armed Forces of the South of Russia. Evacuated with the Russian army of Wrangel to Turkey. Member of the Union of Naval Officers in Constantinople. Later he emigrated to the USA. 20. Captain 2nd rank Kartavtsev Vsevolod Evgenievich. 21. Siegern-Korn Georgy Anatolyevich – painter, graphic artist. The son of Colonel of the Engineering Troops A.I. von Siegern-Korn. From 1914 he lived with his family in Alexandropol (now Gyumri, Armenia). My father was in the army, after the revolution he joined the White movement. On November 1920 with the army of General Wrangel, the family was evacuated to Constantinople, and from there to the Kingdom of the Union of Artists (Yugoslavia). After graduating from the Russian-Serbian gymnasium, he simultaneously entered the Belgrade University at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Academy of Arts. During the war he joined the cavalry division of General G. von Panwitz. In May 1945, the entire personnel of the surrendered division was handed over by the British to the Soviet authorities. He spent ten years in Stalin’s camps in the Urals, Siberia and Kazakhstan. He worked in coal mines, at a logging site, at the construction of a railway and an oil pipeline. Sat together with L. N. Gumilyov, the future famous historian, son of Nikolai Gumilyov and Anna Akhmatova; with Admiral Sablin, former adjutant of Nicholas II; with the son of General Krasnov, Nikolai Krasnov, and others. At 19In the 1950s, he was pardoned as a Yugoslav subject and received permission to go to his family in the United States, where he worked as a draftsman and graphic artist. He painted pictures, created a series of drawings “Stalin’s Gulag through the eyes of an artist. ” Author of the memoirs “Tales of the bright past.” 22. Leteraturologist, botanist and geographer. On many tombstones, the professions of the dead are given. 23. The only burial with a fence. 24. There are only a few such stones with portraits in the cemetery. 25. Scoutmaster. 26. For all the time at the cemetery, I met only a few people. One of them was a priest who read prayers at some of the graves. Apparently he was an American. 27. 28. Wooden headstone. Wood is a short lived thing. The inscriptions are almost unreadable. 29. Wooden crypt. The leaves are dry inside and the wind is blowing. 30. 31. Walking among the graves, I suddenly came across such an epitaph, written on the reverse side of the stone. To be honest, it got through. The author clearly thought through the lines and their effect. 32. Baron and Baroness Gerlach. Pioneers. Thanks to Google, I found out that Vladimir Gerlach wrote a book called “Traitor”, which tells about his participation in the hostilities on the side of the German army during World War II. You can download it here.
“I am not a traitor, neither legally nor morally. Legally, I am not a traitor, because I have never been a subject of the Soviet Union. I started fighting this bastard in Petersburg, continued this fight in the south, first with Kornilov, then with Denikin, and finally with Wrangel. Then he left his homeland, then the Bolsheviks deprived me of citizenship, although I had never been their subject. It doesn’t matter, and I continue to fight with them without subject now, together with the Germans, because they continued to torment and destroy my people all the time while I was abroad. Morally, therefore, I consider myself obligated to help my people throw off this accursed yoke. Where did you manage to find treason here?
33. Alexey Borisovich Jordan. Son of Colonel B. Jordan. Mother, Kira Anatolyevna, nee. Gudim-Levkovich, former maid of honor of Empress Alexandra Feodorovna. He graduated from the First Russian Grand Duke Konstantin Konstantinovich Cadet Corps in Yugoslavia. He was vice-sergeant major of the XXI issue (1940-1941). Name A.B. Jordan was listed on the marble plaque of the corps for excellent success. Then he studied at the University of Belgrade. Since 1941, he served with his father in the Russian Corps, who fought against the communists in Yugoslavia. 34. Monument dedicated to the cadets. Installed at 1994 year. 35. 36. Obviously an Italian surname and an Orthodox cross 37. Another interesting combination came across. 38. Icon on the grave of the artist. 39. Warrior of the white army. 40. 41. Alexandra Lvovna Tolstaya – the youngest daughter of Leo Tolstoy. Founder and first head of the museum in Yasnaya Polyana and the Tolstoy Foundation, among the founders and sponsors of which were Igor Sikorsky and Sergei Rachmaninov. 42. Nikolai Alekseevich Zuev – Russian officer, hero of the Russo-Japanese War (he was then a 12-year-old boy), participant in the First World War and the White movement; in exile – an active participant in the anti-communist activities of the ROVS and reconnaissance and sabotage against the USSR, a participant in the Second World War as part of the ROA. 43. According to the decree of the People’s Commissariat for Education of the RSFSR dated 12/23/1917 of the year “On the introduction of a new spelling”, it was proposed to write prefixes (from, who, times, roses, bottom, without, through, through) before vowels and voiced consonants with “z”, but replace “z” with the letter “s” before deaf consonants, including before “s” (sorry, appeal, overthrow, weak-willed, extremely, – correct, educate, germinating seeds, part, painting, sent down, useless, striped, cross-saddle). Immigrants did not read Soviet decrees and continued to use pre-revolutionary rules. 44. Prince Diasamidze. 45. 46. Zaev Alexey Nikolaevich – a participant in the Russian-Japanese and First World Wars. The rank of Rear Admiral was awarded by General Wrangel on April 14, 1920 – “for differences.” Since 1922 he has been in exile in the USA. First he was a worker in Philadelphia, then he worked at a match factory in New York. He was chairman of the Society of Former Officers of the Imperial Navy in the United States. Author of the memoirs “The Beginning of the War with Japan. According to the impressions and experiences of the midshipman from the destroyer in Port Arthur ”(pdf). 47. Borodiy Nikolai Dmitrievich – officer of the 42nd Yakut Infantry Regiment. Georgievsky Cavalier. In the Volunteer Army he served in the detachment of General Bredov, then in the Drozdov Rifle Division. At 1920 emigrated through the Crimea to Gallipoli, then to France. He worked at an aluminum plant. Then he became a DP in Ludwigsburg, left for the USA. 48. Prince Golitsin and Baroness Tizenhausen. 49. Eternal memory is far from eternal. 50. More photos of the cemetery can be found in the flickr album.

I have had my child enrolled at this center for the last 14 months. My family couldn’t possibly be more pleased with this center. My child comes home every night speaking english, spanish AND sign language. Kids R Kids is the best thing to happen to my 16 month old. When I read the posts previous to this one I was appauled, I cannot believe someone would take time out of their day to lie. This facility gets my highest rating, I am their biggest fan for what they have done for my daughter

Children of the most beautiful actors in the world – what the heirs of Tom Hardy, Orland Bloom, David Beckham look like
Being able to call a celebrity dad gives a number of advantages – this means that the child will have a happy and carefree life, and also that he hit the genetic jackpot. The heroes of our selection have an attractive appearance, and we propose to find out if their children have inherited the “beauty genes”.
Video of the day
OBOZREVATEL will show children of famous David Beckham, Tom Hardy, Clint Eastwood, Will Smith, Orlando Bloom. Some of them repeated the fate of relatives (to see the photo, scroll the page to the end).
David Beckham
The famous English footballer David Beckham married Victoria, a former member of the Spice girls, 25 years ago. The businesswoman gave him three sons – Brooklyn Joseph (born March 4, 1999), Romeo James (born September 1, 2002) and Cruz David (born February 20, 2005), as well as a daughter – Harper Seven (born July 10 2011). It is worth saying that the sons are incredibly similar to the star father and, like him, are in the center of public attention. The middle son Romeo from an early age began to appear on the covers of glossy magazines, but after that he decided to return to football. Senior – Brooklyn is also associated with modeling.

Why Questions for Kids: Speech Therapy for Teaching Children to Answer “Why” Questions
Why questions for kids can be very useful. Being able to answer a “why” question can help a child answer questions in class that show knowledge and understanding of information, help him make sense of the world around him, and explain reasons for bad behavior and possibly keep him out of trouble.
Here are some steps for teaching a child to answer “why” questions in speech therapy or at home. Children are typically able to answer “why” questions by 4 years of age. That’s why preschoolers constantly walk around asking “why? why? why?”. For the record, the author of this site holds no personal responsibility if you implement this protocol and your child starts asking “why” a million times. 🙂

Why Questions for Kids, Step One: Answering “Why” Questions about Function
“Why” questions can be vague and hard for children to understand. When we are teaching “why” questions to kids in speech therapy, it is important to break “why” questions out into different types. The easiest type of “why” questions to start with is “why” questions about function. In these questions, you’ll ask the child why we need or use certain objects.
Ask the child these types of questions to the child and explain that when we answer a “why” question, we can start our answer with “because”.
Examples of “Why” Questions about Function:
Why would you use a flashlight? Because I need light
Why would you use a spoon? Because I need to eat
Why would you use a jacket? Because I am cold
Why would you go to the hospital? Because I am sick or hurt
Why would you go to the grocery store? Because I need food
Why would you go to school? Because I need to learn
Why Questions for Kids, Step Two: Answering “Why” Questions about People’s Motivations
Once the child starts to get the idea of “why” questions with basic function questions, we can start to challenge them a bit more by talking about people’s motivations for various actions. This type of “why” question takes a bit more brain power because not only do we need to understand what “why” means, but we also have to understand people’s motivations. This is a great activity for children who struggle with perspective taking as well.
For this type of “why” question, provide the child with a scenario (or read a story book) and then ask the child questions about someone’s motivation in that scenario. You can even act these out if it helps. If the child is having trouble, try using stories from their lives. Or, better yet, take a video of something that actually happened to them and then ask “why” questions about their motivation.
Examples of “Why” Questions about People’s Motivations:
It had been a long day and Mary was very tired. Mary had gotten up early to finish her homework before school and then spent all day at school. After school, she went to gymnastics practice and then came home for dinner. Even though it was only 7:30, Mary put on her pajamas and went to bed as soon as dinner was over.
Why did Mary put on her pajamas and go to bed early? Because she was tired.
It was dinner time and John was disappointed because there was broccoli on his plate. John did not like broccoli but his parents always made him eat the broccoli anyway. John didn’t like the texture or the taste of broccoli. Fortunately, John’s dog Billie LOVED broccoli. When John’s parents weren’t looking, John poked a piece of broccoli onto his fork and held it under the table for Billie to eat.
Why did John feed his broccoli to Billie? Because John didn’t want to eat the broccoli.
Why Questions for Kids, Step Three: Answering Hypothetical “Why” Questions
Now that the child is answering simpler “why” questions, it’s time to start asking some more abstract “why” questions. These are questions like “why do we sleep?” and “why do we wear shoes?”. They require a bit more complex thinking because they are probably things that your child hasn’t stopped to think about the reasoning behind very often.
Ask the child questions like the ones below about the reason that things happen. Again, don’t forget to tell the child that we can answer “why” questions with a “because…” answer. Ask the child “why” questions about anything that comes up and try to help him come to the answer by himself. Give him little clues and hints that will help him along the way.
For example, if you asked the child “why do we wear shoes?” and he couldn’t come up with an answer, you could say things like “Well, what happens if you don’t wear shoes outside?” or “Have you ever hurt your foot when you weren’t wearing shoes?”. Keep asking leading questions like that until he gets the correct answer. Or, if he’s struggling you can go ahead and tell him the answer, but make sure you come back and ask that one again sometime so he can practice the answer.
You can also ask “why” questions while reading books. Read a page and then ask why something happened in the book. You can then move this into a hypothetical question as well. For example, if the character in the book is mad about something, you can say “why is he mad?”. Then, after answering that one, you can ask “why do you get mad?”.
Examples of Hypothetical “Why” Questions:
Why do we sleep?
Why do we eat?
Why do plants need sunlight?
Why do we drink water?
Why do we go to the doctor?
Why do dogs wag their tails?
Why Questions for Kids, Step Four: Answering Mixed “Why” Questions in Conversation
We are to the last step! Once the child can answer “why” questions like this during speech therapy activities, you are ready to help the child answer “why” questions throughout the day in conversation. You can start this process by asking “why” questions during specific activities, like during play. Stop after each question and help the child find the correct answer. Remind the child that “why” questions need a “because…” answer.
As the child gets more and more confident with answering “why” questions, you can start making them harder. Classroom learning activities often have a lot of opportunities for practicing “why” questions. Use reading materials from class (especially science passages/articles) to help the child answer “why” questions about what he/she is learning. Make sure all adults who work with the child know that he/she is learning to answer “why” questions and should be helped to become more confident with this skill.
You can also ask “why” questions during book-reading activities, while watching shows or movies, and while waiting in line or walking to and from speech therapy. Remember to include a combination of “why” questions about function, “why” questions about people’s motivations, and hypothetical “why” questions.

We have long forgotten about the mechanism of ebb and flow. As for the color of the sea, we remember rather vaguely that it seems to depend on sunlight, but how to explain this … A little embarrassed, we mumble a vague answer that is unconvincing even to ourselves. And we promise ourselves to look later in the encyclopedia. Don’t look for answers, we did it for you.
Question: Why do stars shine at night?
Answer: Stars are small suns that are very, very far from the Earth … Therefore, at night they look like shiny dots. During the day we cannot see the stars, because the light of the sun is too strong.
Question: Why does the sea rise and fall?
Answer: This is what we call ebb and flow. They depend on the Moon, which, like a huge magnet, draws water when it is over the sea. The sea rises when the moon rises in the sky and sinks when the moon sets.
Question: “How did the sand get here on the beach?”
Answer: Sand consists of the smallest rock fragments. The rains carry them to the rivers, then the rivers carry them to the seas. In water, they shrink to the size of a grain of sand. The waves move them and collect them on the beach. Sometimes the wind blows from the sea, lifts the sand and moves it, and then dunes appear on the beaches.
Question: “Why does the Sun burn?”
Answer: The sun is a huge ball of fire that has not burned out for a very long time. He warms us and sends us light. Without it, there would be no people, no animals, no plants on Earth. But you need to be very careful and properly lubricate the skin with sun cream in the summer, otherwise you can get sunburn.
Question: Why do rainbows exist?
Answer: A rainbow appears when the sun meets the rain. When sunlight hits raindrops, they send out red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue and purple rays that paint a beautiful arch. You yourself can create a rainbow in the garden with a hose: turn your back to the Sun and make the stream of water thin. And look at the result…
Question: “Can I take off when the wind is strong?”
Answer: No, but when the wind is very strong, you may fall, so it is better to stay at home. It is the wind that creates waves on the sea. When it blows very hard, the waves become high – this is a storm. And then even large ships can sink.
Question: “Why does the bank give you money so easily?”
Answer: The bank does not “just” give me money, it gives me “my” money, the money that I, for example, earned. I can’t walk around with a bunch of bills and the bank keeps them for me. And every time I need them, he gives me some part. Enough for me to put my card in the ATM. The card has my name on it. A big computer checks to see if I have money left. And if I have nothing left, because I have already spent everything, then he does not give me anything.
Question: “Why should I eat in the morning?”
Answer: When you wake up in the morning you feel hungry. Which is not surprising, since you haven’t eaten all night. And your body needs energy to function properly. We fill the car with gasoline to make it work. The body is the same: you need to feed it in order to grow, run, think…
Question: Where does the food we eat go?
Answer: She makes a great journey into the tube called the digestive tract. It enters through the mouth, exits through the anus (the hole through which you make poop). Food enters the mouth, is sent to the stomach, which transforms it into porridge and sends it to the small intestine. It is at this moment that nutrients are distributed throughout the body. All that the body does not need is transformed into feces.
Question: “Why can’t I fly like a bird?”
Answer: Because human beings don’t have wings and they are very heavy! No heavy animal can fly. An ostrich, for example, despite the fact that it has wings, cannot fly – it weighs too much! To fly, you need to rely on the air with your wings. If we wanted to build artificial wings, we would have to make them gigantic so that they could bear our weight.

Question: Why do bees sting?
Answer: To protect yourself. Bees have always been afraid of bears who wanted to steal their honey. As soon as they see someone approaching the hive, they mistake it for a bear and sting.
Question: Why do we yawn?
Answer: We yawn when we are tired or bored. This is a signal that we are losing control of our body. In fact, we fall asleep little by little. By pulling the jaw down, a yawn forces us to take a deep breath. And it wakes us up!
Question: “Why does that uncle have narrow eyes?”
Answer: There are several different races of people on our planet, those with narrow eyes are called “Asians” or representatives of the Mongoloid race. Their ancestors wandered a lot in the steppe, where a strong wind blew. Their eyes gradually narrowed to keep out sand and dust.
Question: “How will a baby come out of a woman’s belly?”
Answer: After nine months of life in the belly, the baby is ready to be born. Mom’s belly is also ready for this: it pushes the baby down to a small tunnel called the vagina. Once the child has gone down enough, the tunnel widens to let the child through. Mom pushes with her stomach, and the baby is born. As a rule, he comes out head first!
Question: Why do I need a navel? And why doesn’t Vanya’s navel look like mine?
Answer: To feed the baby that lives in the mother’s belly, she feeds him through a tube called the umbilical cord. At birth, the doctor cuts it off and ties it in a knot. This will be the belly button. The shape of the navel depends on the shape of the knot that the doctor tied: some stick out, others form a hollow.
Question: “Why do cat eyes glow in the dark?”
Answer: Cats have small mirror particles in their eyes that reflect the light that hits them – so they glow in a dark room, reflecting the little light that is there. But in absolute darkness, they will not glow, since they will have nothing to reflect.
Question: “Why do I sleep alone?”
Answer: Previously, people used to sleep with the whole family in one room, because it was warmer, because there were no batteries before, and the stove was heated in the house. Now we have large, well-heated houses: children can settle in a room, alone or with a brother or sister, and parents in another. This allows parents in love to be alone with each other. When you grow up and fall in love, you can share your bed too!

Question: How can ships float on water?
Answer: They stay on the surface due to the force that pushes them and keeps them on the water. It’s called the Archimedes force. But you need to be careful: if the boat is small and too heavy, it may sink. Therefore, it is impossible, for example, for more than three or four people to sit in a boat.
Question: How big and very heavy can an airplane fly?
Answer: He flies with his wings. But to take off, he needs a huge force. And it is given to him by motors located under the wings. They send out a very hot gas that lifts the plane very high into the sky.
Question: Why does the sun set?
Answer: Do you get the impression that the Sun is moving? In fact, the Earth moves like a top, but you don’t feel it. As it rotates, it either turns towards the Sun, and then it is day, or it goes into the shade, and then it is night.
Question: Why does ice cream melt?
Answer: Ice cream is made from water or milk, sugar and vanilla (or strawberry, lemon…). All this is mixed and frozen. When you buy ice cream, they give it to you from the freezer: it is still very cold and hard. But the more time passes, the more water or milk heats up. And it becomes liquid again. If you don’t eat it right away, it will melt… Do you remember when you took an ice cube in your hand, and after a while it turned into water? So it’s the same here.
Question: Where does thunder come from?
Answer: Look at the sky, there are many huge black clouds on it. When they are overflowing with water, wind and electricity, they explode, this provokes a flash, this flash of lightning makes a lot of noise when it crosses the sky: it is thunder. Sometimes we see lightning and hear thunder at the same time. This indicates that the storm is very close. Sometimes we see lightning long before thunder. This means that the storm has moved away from the house. If you want to know how far away a thunderstorm is, start counting by bending your fingers as soon as you see lightning. Did you count to five? That means she’s about five kilometers away from you.
Question: “Why do you need to fill up your car with gasoline?”
Answer: When you ride a bicycle, the muscles in your legs turn the wheels. The car has no legs. It takes force to move it. And gasoline gives power. He moves the mechanism that turns the wheels.
Question: “Why does that person have dark skin?”
Answer: The skin produces particles of color, melanin. If she produces them in large quantities, she becomes black. If very little – white. It also depends on where we live. For example, in Africa, people have black skin, which protects them from the sun.
Question: “How does the postman know to whom the parcel needs to be given?”
Answer: Before we send a parcel, we always write the name and address of the person to whom we send it. Same with postcards and letters. The address of a person is the place where he lives: house number, street name, city, country. And so the postman knows exactly where to send the parcel.

15 questions from children and how to answer them
In the life of any parent, sooner or later there comes a time when a child asks a million different questions. He is interested in everything: why the sky is blue, why dogs bark, why you need to sleep, and other important things.
Tlum.Ru tells how moms and dads can answer the most popular children’s questions, and at the same time learn something new for themselves.
No. 1. Why is the sky blue?
It would seem, why does the sky have color if the air around us is transparent? This is due to the fact that the air contains a large amount of dust, water vapor, gases and ice crystals – they are in constant motion, collide and mix with each other. The sun’s rays, passing through the atmosphere, are divided into the colors of the rainbow – some more, some less. It turns out that violet, blue and blue colors fly the most, and that is why the sky looks blue or blue.
No. 2. “How many people were there in the world at all times?”
Now (September 2022) about 7.753 billion people live on Earth – a gigantic figure. And this is not counting those who did not live to this day – there were a great many of them. It is not possible to calculate the exact number, but it can be assumed. According to expert demographers, at different times about 108-110 billion people lived on Earth – 14 times more than there are now.
No. 3. “Which sea is the most salty?”
The water in the seas and oceans is salty, but the degree of salinity varies depending on various factors. The Red Sea is considered to be the saltiest – and there are many reasons for this. Firstly, this is the inland sea of the Indian Ocean, located between the Arabian Peninsula and Africa, so it is very hot there and there is little precipitation: no more than 100 millimeters per year, and 20 times more evaporates. In addition, not a single river flows into the Red Sea – in other words, nothing simply dilutes its salty water.
It is impossible not to mention the Dead Sea – it is more salty than the Red Sea, but geographically it is considered more like a lake.
No. 4. Are elephants afraid of mice?
Do you know that the fact that elephants are afraid of mice is a myth? Surely both you and your children were told that this was true. Let’s figure out why it doesn’t work. Scientists have repeatedly conducted research by launching mice into elephant enclosures, but they have never aroused fear in large animals, and on the contrary, they were curious. Initially, this legend could have been born due to the fact that, by their nature, elephants are rather cautious creatures.
No. 5. “Why do ostriches hide their heads in the sand?”
Do these large birds, instead of running away from danger, hide in this way? In fact, this is also a myth. Ostriches do not fly, so they have to hide their eggs in holes dug in the ground. To check the temperature in these peculiar underground nests, they sometimes stick their heads down.
In case of danger, ostriches can bend their heads low to the ground to merge with the landscape, but it does not go underground in such situations.
No. 6. “What happens if you put out the Sun?”
First of all, this is not an easy task. The mass of the Sun is about 330,000 times that of the earth. Even all the water that can be found in earthly reservoirs is not enough to cool it down even a little. In addition, this is not necessary – life on Earth directly depends on the Sun.
No. 7. “How did life come about?”
This question cannot be answered quickly. Four and a half billion years ago, the Earth was formed from cosmic dust, and it was impossible to live on it: it was all seething, boiling, and it was constantly attacked by asteroids. After 150 million years, the planet began to calm down, forming a thin crust, but meteorites and asteroids did not disappear. Water began to accumulate in the craters and the first oceans formed, but the atmosphere was still uninhabitable. It took the Earth a long time to cool down – and then the first cell appeared. It happened 3 billion years ago.
The first organisms were called cyanobacteria – they learned to use sunlight, atmospheric gases and water. Starting to unite in huge colonies, they settled all over the planet.
Initially, there was only one continent and one huge ocean on the Earth, but 1.3 billion – 635 million years ago, fragments of the earth’s crust began to move, forming a semblance of the map that we know now. The earth froze, and volcanoes helped to warm it.
Animals (or their likeness) appeared only 540 million years ago. Some of them died out, and some managed to evolve or even remain as they are now – for example, the tardigrade can still be found. And the first man, Homo habilis (handy man), appeared about 2.8 million years ago. Scientists know that up to this point only Australopithecus existed.
No. 8. “How many stars are there in the sky?”
According to scientists, about 9,096 stars can be observed throughout the sky from Earth. These are just the ones we can see! And since at any moment we see only half of the celestial sphere, we divide this number by two – we get 4548 stars. But the exact number of stars in the Universe cannot be calculated – this can be explained to a child using the example of grains of sand on the beach.
No. 9. How does a rainbow appear?
Sunlight only appears white, but actually contains colors from red to purple – like a rainbow. We can see the manifestation of these colors when it rains. At a certain angle, sunlight breaks into separate colors, forming a rainbow. It is convenient to check this on a sunny day – for this you can use a garden hose by finding the right angle.
No. 10. How does a microwave oven work?
As the name implies, a microwave oven uses waves to heat food – a magnetron, which is located inside, creates an electromagnetic field that causes water molecules in food to oscillate. These very molecules rub against each other, and thus the food is heated. Hands heat up in much the same way when we rub our palms together.
No. 11. Why do birds fly south?
Birds fly south because in winter they have nothing to eat in their native places – instead of looking for food in the snow, it is easier for them to go to distant lands. Only those birds remain that are able to find food even in cold weather. In the spring, when it gets too hot in the south, and insects wake up in native conditions, the birds return.
No. 12. “How is the sea different from the ocean?”
Simply put, the sea is a part of the ocean separated by land. But there are also three differences: area, depth and population. The total area of the oceans is approximately 362 million square kilometers: the largest ocean, the Pacific, is 165.25 million, while the largest sea, the Mediterranean, has an area of only 2.5 million kilometers. By the same principle, the depth of the seas is much inferior to the depth of the oceans.
In the seas and oceans you can meet different inhabitants. Due to the depth, the fauna and flora of the seas are much more diverse, because this contributes to a better process of photosynthesis (the chemical means by which algae and bacteria produce glucose and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water, using only light as an energy source).
No. 13. How do animals communicate with each other?
Animals communicate with each other and with us, even if we speak different languages. They use a different range of sounds to communicate something. At the same time, sounds are not the only way to talk about something. For example, dogs wag their tails, and cats press their ears to their heads.
Licensed Child Care Centers are professionally staffed facilities which generally serve large groups of children. While centers vary greatly in size, each one must remain within the maximum child capacity established for it by Office of Child Care. This means that no more than a specified number of children may be present in a given center at one time (see below). Centers operate for part or all of a day at least twice a week on a regular basis.
Some centers primarily provide care for infants and toddlers. Other centers care only for preschool or school-age children. Most centers provide care for a range of ages.
In many centers, children are usually grouped with others of the same age. Other centers use mixed-age groups (for example, infants or toddlers grouped with pre-school age children, or pre-school age children grouped with school age children).
School-age child care centers offer programs before and/or after school hours and during school holidays, vacations and out-of-school programs for inclement weather.
Nursery schools are educational programs for children two years through four years old. These programs are approved by the Maryland State Department of Education. Most are also licensed by Office of Child Care as child care programs.

Some child care centers operate as non-profit and may be owned by an individual, church, public school, or a government agency. Other child care centers may operate as a for-profit and may be owned by an individual or a chain.
Not all child care centers may be required to be licensed. Some examples of center-based programs that may not be required to be licensed include:
Programs operated by a school
School-age before and after care programs
Summer camps
Faith-based programs, including Parent’s Day Out programs
Part-time programs, including some nursery schools, preschools, and pre-kindergarten programs
REGISTERED FAMILY CHILD CARE
Registered Family Child Care Homes are also operated by professional caregivers, but within private residences, usually the primary caregiver’s home. There are two types of family child care settings:
Family Child Care – may provide care for up to 8 children in a home
Large Family Child Care – may provide care for up to 12 children in a home
Some of the requirements around these facilities include:
No more than two of those children – including the caregiver’s children – may be under two years old unless there are additional staff members present.
There may never be – under any circumstances – more than four children under the age of two, regardless of how many staff members are present.
Family child care homes typically operate for at least eight hours per day and usually offer flexible scheduling.
Like child care centers, some family child care homes provide care for mixed groups while others focus on particular age groups.
HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START PROGRAMS Head Start and Early Head Start programs are free, federally funded programs designed to promote school readiness for children from low-income families. Early Head Start serves pregnant women and families with children under age 3. Head Start programs serve children between 3 and 5 years old.
PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS Preschool programs are typically offered for children ages 3-5 years old. Preschool programs may be offered through a school, faith-based organizations, non-profit organizations, and child care centers.
While some preschool programs may operate on a full-day, year round schedule, some may not.
SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAMS School-age programs typically provide child care during the before- and after-school hours. They may also offer care during school holidays and summer break.
Some family child care providers and child care centers also offer school-age care. Other programs, such as schools, parks and recreation departments, community-based programs, and churches may offer this type of care as well.
INFORMAL CHILD CARE You may choose to have a friend or a relative provide care for your child in your home. Or you may wish to have a relative care for your child in the relative’s home. These are informal kinds of child care, and they are exempt from regulation under Maryland law. A friend or neighbor who occasionally “baby sits” your child in her home for short periods is also exempt from regulation — The care provided is less than 20 hours per month.
Does child care make a difference to children’s development?
By Lauren Lowry, Hanen SLP and clinical writer
Over 70% of children in Canada are in some kind of child care arrangement and this number is similar in other countries. Usually, children are placed in child care because both parents are working. However, sometimes, parents are advised by a professional to enroll their child in child care because this environment will promote their child’s development.
Parents have many questions about child care and we thought it would be helpful to identify some common assumptions about the effects of child care and report on what the research actually shows. The first few assumptions relate to typically-developing children, and the final three assumptions relate to children with special needs.
Assumptions about typically-developing children and child care
Children who attend child care have better outcomes than children who are cared for at home by their mothers
FALSE
A study by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) in the US looked at the influence of both child care and the home environment on over 1,000 typically-developing children [1]. They found that:
“children who were cared for exclusively by their mothers did not develop differently than those who were also cared for by others” [1, p.1]
They also found that
“parent and family characteristics were more strongly linked to child development than were child care features” [1, p.1].
This means that families have a greater impact on how a child develops than child care does.
Two family features that had a significant influence on children’s development were the quality of:
mother-child interactions – children’s outcomes were better when mothers were responsive, sensitive, attentive, and provided good stimulation during interactions.
the family environment – families which had organized routines, books and play materials, and engaged in stimulating experiences both in and out of the home (outings, library trips, etc.) had children with better social and cognitive outcomes.
The take home message…
Children who attend child care have the same outcomes as children who are cared for at home.
Children who attend child care have the same outcomes as children who are cared for at home. Whether a child attends daycare or not, it is the family that has a major impact on their child’s development, with the parents’ interactions with the child being a critically important factor.
Child care centres are better for children’s development than home-based child care settings
TRUE and FALSE
The NICHD study [1] compared children who attended child care centres with children who attended home-based care (e.g. a home-based daycare, or care within the child’s home by someone other than the child’s parents). They found that centre-based child care was linked to:
somewhat better cognitive and language development
better pre-academic skills involving letters and numbers
fewer behaviour problems at ages 2 and 3
more behaviour problems at age 4 ½ (such as disobedience and aggression)
Therefore, there appear to be pros and cons to both centre-based and home-based child care settings.
It doesn’t matter which child care a child goes to since most are of high quality
FALSE
The majority of child care settings provide children with a warm, supportive environment that protects children’s health and safety [2]. However, only a small percentage of children in child care receive caregiving which promotes and stimulates development.
Studies have shown that:
“most child care settings in the United States provide care that is “fair” (between “poor” and “good”)” [1, p.11).
only about a third of child care centres and a third of family home daycares in Canada encourage children’s social, language and cognitive development [2].
there is some evidence that child care centres that are inclusive (that welcome and accommodate children with special needs) tend to be of higher quality than noninclusive programs [3].
What contributes to high quality child care? The NICHD [1] found that high quality care was related to the amount of “positive caregiving” provided, which means that caregivers or teachers:
show a positive attitude
have positive physical contact with the children
respond frequently to the children’s vocalizations
ask questions
encourage the children
sing songs and read books
encourage and advance the children’s behaviour
discourage negative interactions
The language used by the caregiver was the most important factor that predicted children’s cognitive and language outcomes.
Of all of these factors, the language used by the caregiver (e.g. making interested comments in response to what children say, asking questions, responding to vocalizations) is the most important factor that predicted children’s cognitive and language outcomes .
The take home message…
Parents cannot assume that all child care centres are of high quality, and should look for the “positive caregiving” qualities above when choosing a child care. The NICHD provides a “Positive Caregiving Checklist” to guide parents in selecting high quality child care. The checklist is available on their website at http://www.nichd.nih.gov/publications/pubs/upload/seccyd_06.pdf (see page 36).
Regulated/licensed child care centres provide better quality child care than centres or home daycares that do not meet such standards
TRUE
In many regions, there are minimum standards outlined by the government known as “regulable features” [1]. These features include factors like the adult-to-child ratio, group size, and the child care provider’s training. In Canada, child care centres or family child care settings that have met these minimum requirements are known as “regulated” [4].
The NICHD study [1] found that:
children in child care centres that met more standards (such as adult-to-child ratio, caregiver’s education level, and class size) tended have better outcomes than children in centres that met fewer standards.
The NICHD also found a connection between these features that were regulated and the extent of positive caregiving provided at a centre:
“the more standards a child care setting meets, the more positive the caregiving. The more positive the caregiving, the higher the quality of care and the better the children’s outcomes” [1, p.12].
Therefore, regulated child care centres tend to provide more positive caregiving, which means that the children benefit more from this type of high quality care.
Children who attend high quality child care have better outcomes than children who attend lower quality child care
TRUE
We know that a child’s family and home environment influences his development more than child care does. However, the reality is that many children attend child care. The NICHD [1] compared the outcomes of children in high quality child care with children in lower quality care. They found that the children in higher quality child care centres demonstrated [1]:
better cognitive, language, and social development
better school readiness (e.g. reading, writing, number skills)
Therefore, when choosing a child care centre, quality does make a difference.
Assumptions about children with special needs and child care
Children with special needs have better outcomes when they are enrolled in child care
FALSE
Booth and Kelly, two authors from the above NICHD study, followed 156 young children with or at risk for developmental disabilities, to determine if child care made a difference to their development [5].
When they compared children with developmental disabilities who attended daycare and children who were cared for at home by their mothers, they found that:
children who attended child care did not do any better than children who did not
Furthermore, when Booth and Kelly looked at the children with special needs who attended child care, they found that the quality of the caregiving at home affected the outcomes of these children [5].
Therefore, spending time in child care is not necessarily beneficial (or harmful) for the development of children with special needs [5]. Whether a child with special needs attends child care or not, the interactions that happen at home have a great impact on the child’s development.
Children with special needs should be enrolled in child care from a very young age to benefit their development
FALSE
Booth and Kelly found that:
children who were a little older when they started daycare (over 12 months of age) were better able to control and manage their own behaviour than children who started during the first year of life.
Booth and Kelly were of the opinion that, when children begin daycare when they are a little older, it gives them more time at home with their parents, which allows them to benefit from consistent caregiving and routines. This seems to help them develop behaviour regulation skills.
Therefore, starting daycare early, especially in the first year of life, may not be ideal for children with special needs.
Children with special needs benefit from increased hours in child care
FALSE
Parents of children with special needs sometimes wonder if they should increase the number of hours their child spends in child care in order to boost their child’s development. However, Booth and Kelly [5] found that:
the amount of time spent in child care did not influence the outcomes of children with developmental disabilities
Therefore, more hours in daycare doesn’t result in better outcomes for children with special needs.
Putting it all together
What matters most?
What is most important to a child’s development is the kind of interactions he has with his parents.
Regardless of whether children attend child care, what happens at home matters most in terms of their development. What is most important to a child’s development is the kind of interactions he has with his parents. Frequent back-and-forth interactions within everyday activities, during which parents listen to their child, respond warmly and with interest to what he communicates and provide information that he can learn from are what count. In fact, these kinds of parent-child interactions predict a child’s development – far more than child care factors do.
No differences between outcomes of children cared for in child care and at home
Contrary to what many people think, children who attend child care have similar outcomes to children who are cared for at home by their mothers. This is true for typically-developing children and children with special needs.
How to choose a child care centre
When choosing a child care, families should:
not assume that all child care centres are of high quality
look for evidence of positive caregiving, especially the language used by the caregiver, as this is linked to high quality care and positive outcomes
find out if a child care is licensed or regulated, as these centres tend to provide higher quality care
consider the pros and cons when choosing a child care centre versus a home-based setting
If your child has special needs
Families who have a child with special needs should remember that:
starting child care after 12 months of age may give the child more time at home to learn to manage his own behaviour
increasing a child’s daycare hours has not been shown to improve his development

Sergei Kravchuk: Kindergarten on Zaparina street will be completed this year — Latest news of the Far East and Primorye
A new kindergarten for 190 children on Zaparina street in Khabarovsk will be completed at the end of this year. This was stated by the head of Khabarovsk Sergey Kravchuk during his working visit to the facility.
Plot
Construction
Work on the construction of social facilities for children is carried out by the city authorities on an ongoing basis. In the last 5 years alone, the Volochaev Lyceum, 3 kindergartens have been put into operation, 7 educational institutions have been overhauled (6 kindergartens and 1 school). In total, more than 2.5 thousand new places have been created in kindergartens and schools. Nevertheless, now Sergey Kravchuk sets a specific task to completely solve the issue of taking turns for children under 1.5 years old, as well as to create free places in kindergartens in large microdistricts, so that it would be more convenient for residents to take their children to institutions near the house.
Photo: khv27.ru
“In the central part of the city, the Guprovskiy Gorodok residential complex is being built, therefore, in order for parents not to experience difficulties, we decided to build a kindergarten here. For children from 2 months old, 4 nursery groups with a coverage of 60 people will be provided, – said the head of the regional capital Sergey Kravchuk. – Today we are renting out all kindergartens with nursery groups – this is the instruction of our President Vladimir Putin. We will start building the next preschool institution in 2024 in the microdistrict on Shatova Street for 320 places. We will work together with the government of the Khabarovsk Territory.”
Photo: khv27.ru
The facility is being constructed under the Demography national project. For these purposes, funds have been allocated from the federal, regional and municipal budgets. The project is designed in such a way that the operation of the kindergarten building in the future does not cause difficulties. So, the kindergarten on Zaparin Street, in the area of Amursky Boulevard, will have a pitched roof. The guarantee for such a roof is up to 50 years.
“Today we already have an action plan for the recruitment of personnel for this institution, for the development of all educational programs. Therefore, we are waiting for the commissioning of the facility” , – Tatyana Matveenkova, head of the city education department, told Vostok-Media.
Photo: khv27. ru
The builders have already concreted the technical, as well as the first and second floors of the building, including the floors of the second floor. Works on the external waterproofing of the basement walls and wall drainage were completed. Mayor of Khabarovsk Sergey Kravchuk instructed to speed up the improvement process due to the peculiarities of climatic conditions.
“We need to finish not only laying asphalt before frost, but also plant green spaces, install fences, children’s play areas, and provide lighting. This service of the customer should take it into service and, together with the contractor, develop a roadmap for improvement. The deadlines are tight – in December of this year, we must hand over the kindergarten, ” — summed up the mayor.
Photo: khv27.ru
It should be noted that personal control over developers is an important component in the work of the mayor. Control over each construction site in real time allows you to assess how the promises of developers correlate with reality. And in case of an unsatisfactory result, the head of the city involves both the regional level and representatives of law enforcement agencies, which allows negligent contractors to come to their senses. Now members of the Public Council of the Kirovsky District are also actively following the process of building a kindergarten.
“We did an analysis: in this area, more than 50% of families have small children, so a preschool is really needed here. I think that this will be the most important stage in the development of our city “,” said Oleg Gorokhov, Deputy Chairman of the Public Council of the Kirovsky District.

How to arrange a cozy terrace in a country house: top 10 ideas – INMYROOM
It is the terrace, like nothing else, that reflects the French L’Art de Vivre – the art of living, the ability to enjoy work and leisure, to enjoy any weather and day of the week. There are no bad days, there is an unsuccessfully equipped terrace.
Outdoor terrace without fencing
The simplest type of terrace, which is a wooden deck, is an extension of the house. The flooring itself can be made of wood, stone or tiles.
If you choose natural wood, then be prepared for regular repairs and maintenance. The harder the wood, the more resistant it is to the whims of the weather and temperature changes. Wood flooring is recommended to be cleaned annually with a brush and washing solution, sanded and coated with a special impregnation.
The minimalistic architecture of the outdoor terrace implies a contemporary style. Decor elements made of concrete and glass, massive furniture made of natural wood and textiles in eco-friendly colors will perfectly fit into it.
Design: Prosperity
Outdoor deck with railing
Wooden deck with railings is an integral part of the classic summer house look. During its arrangement, special attention is paid to the floor. One of the most popular finishing materials is decking (a mixture of sawdust and polymers). It looks beautiful and modern, easy to use and at the same time does not rot and is not subject to changes in temperature and humidity.
Soft throws, sun glare on a slightly worn floor, bindweed and a rocking chair are attributes of an unobtrusive and cozy rustic style that is perfect for decorating an outdoor terrace with a fence. By the way, in the evenings on such a terrace, the backlight from homemade lamps looks great.
Pinterest
Covered terrace
One of the most important elements of the terrace is the roof. A decorative roof does not protect against precipitation and wind, but creates a shadow and visual restriction. The traditional roof protects from rain, snow, wind and sun. There are also retractable and stretch roofs, tented roofs. The choice of materials is not limited – wood, glass, fabric, plastic.
A swing-bench will fit perfectly as a decor for a covered terrace. Here you can also put a soft sofa for relaxing and reading or organize a dining area with a round table and classic Viennese chairs.
Pinterest
Glass extension
A great opportunity to enjoy nature in the most comfortable conditions: the glass extension is completely protected from the weather and at the same time is completely open to the eye.
Glazed terrace is a unique find for the decorator, as it provides a lot of room for creativity. The first thought that suggests itself is the living-dining room. It’s great if the continuation of the closed terrace becomes an open wooden flooring, where you can organize a barbecue area and a summer kitchen. Add flowers in massive clay pots to the decor, put a couple of vintage armchairs and a comfortable sofa.
Pinterest
Roof terrace
Its design often resembles a miniature garden. Lawns are planted on the roofs, orchards are planted and herbs are grown. When arranging a roof terrace, it is important to observe three basic conditions:
flat roof slope;
waterproofing system, rain and melt water drainage;
roof insulation.
Floors can be made of any material – wood, stone, tiles – and even lined with natural grass.
The design style reflects the eco-concept of the building – natural materials, minimalist decor, natural colors. Tents are also erected on the roofs, verandas with mobile retractable roofs are equipped.
Pinterest
Pool terrace
It can be completely different: miniature, serving as a decorative frame, or spacious, multi-level, equipped with sun loungers and a mini-bar. Traditional materials for decorating the floor of such a terrace are decking, tiles or stone.=”article-text”>
Rattan loungers and armchairs are the perfect choice for these terraces. In terms of beauty and practicality, they are not inferior to modern furniture made of artificial polymers. Don’t forget about sun protection. It is most convenient to use folding textile umbrellas and canopies. Consider lighting – for safety and, of course, beauty, the pool area should be well lit. Built-in lighting is a good choice for any design style.=”article-text”>

Terrace with summer kitchen
Every summer resident’s dream. Since in the summer, in good weather, the whole family inevitably moves to the veranda, a small kitchen allows you to actually live on the street.
To equip an outdoor kitchen, it is enough to build a stove or lay a brazier with a stone, bring water to the terrace and organize a small kitchen corner with a sink and a work surface. It is best if the building is monolithic – made of brick or stone. The floor of the veranda can be lined with stone or tiles.
Pinterest
Terrace-pavilion
For arrangement, you can use an existing building, for example, a summer kitchen or a gazebo. The main elements of the pavilion are the roof, floors and walls. At the same time, the walls do not have to be deaf, their role can be played by wild grapes, wooden or forged mesh, shrubs.
The interior design of the pavilion is always personal and reflects the tastes of the owners of the house. A large round wooden table and Viennese chairs are perfect for decorating the dining room. It’s good if they are not new and have a slightly different shape. If the pavilion serves as a retreat, place a comfortable reading lounger and a miniature coffee table. Light curtains of natural shades will perfectly fit into the decor of the glazed pavilion.
Pinterest
Terrace around the house
The circular terrace is a traditional companion of chalets and stilt houses. It frames the house like a deck and gives a special mood to the architecture.
Plus, extra space is always practical. On one side, you can place a summer kitchen and put a barbecue, on the other, organize a dining room, on the third, hang a hammock, and on the fourth, make a play area for children, hang a swing or put up a sports complex. Such an extension combines the advantages of a traditional outdoor terrace, pavilion, outdoor kitchen and covered veranda.
Pinterest
Balcony terrace
Like a circular terrace, it can frame the entire second floor of the house. And sometimes, on the contrary, it is miniature, more like a traditional balcony, or multi-level with access to the roof. An obligatory element of the terrace is a fence made of metal, glass or wood, depending on the style in which the house itself is made.
Such balconies are often decorated with flowers, and large fabric umbrellas are used as protection from the sun. Set up a small round table and a couple of chairs to enjoy your morning coffee and spend your evenings chatting over a glass of wine.

Frameless glazing systems
Frameless glazing of the terrace and veranda with sliding structures is one of the best solutions if you decide to turn a summer terrace into an extra room. Sliding glazing is highly mobile and combinatory, which allows you to create a variety of design solutions.
There are 2 main options for glazing terraces, verandas and country houses, each of which has its own advantages.
Frameless sliding glazing
When closed, it forms a solid transparent wall that surrounds the entire perimeter of the site. The room is full of light and air, with a magnificent view of the garden and the street. The threshold of the structure is recessed into the floor, so you will not stumble when entering. The lower part of the glass is equipped with a special protective plate that prevents snow from sweeping up and leaking when it rains.
Framed glazing
Vertical glazing (guillotine)
The best option for terrace glazing. Lifting windows of the English type are excellent space savers and have built-in child and burglary protection.
PVC window glazing
The most popular glazing option. Plastic bags are well insulated and will reliably protect from any bad weather. Perfect for home glazing.
Sliding windows
Another popular option for veranda glazing. Sliding windows do not clutter up the space and fit well into any design. Among the shortcomings are insufficient protection against burglary and protruding frames when open.
When choosing between guillotine (frame) and frameless (panoramic) glazing, you must first of all rely on aesthetics and appearance. And of course, weigh all the advantages and disadvantages.
Frameless sliding and vertical (frame) glazing: advantages and disadvantages
Professionals in the field of design and architecture recommend glazing the veranda and terrace with frameless and guillotine glazing. These two options for panoramic glazing most accurately meet all the tasks that are usually set in front of a covered terrace and veranda:
Advantages of frameless glazing:
light and durable fittings, average service life of 50 years,
sliding walls, allow you to transform the space according to the need,
withstand a wind force of 10 points (severe storm),
tempered glass does not break, but breaks without cutting the skin, withstands pressure up to 100 kg per square meter,
create an insulated, well-protected space from the wind,
give you the opportunity to enjoy the surroundings,
special locking fittings, ensures safety.
Cons:
more complex than conventional windows installation,
the absence of sealed seams, allows you to insulate the room by 65% instead of 80% of the frame.
Advantages of vertical glazing:
real space and space saving,
built-in child protection
unlike hinged glazing, vertical windows are almost impossible to crack from the outside,
additionally insulates the room by 80%,
the sashes do not slam in the wind, which provides additional protection for the glass,
in case of damage, individual elements are easily changed,
service life from 20 to 80 years.
Cons:
heavy frame, slightly restricts visibility
vertical windows make it impossible to completely free the transom
When deciding to rebuild a veranda or terrace into an additional room, it is important to understand that this is an expensive, troublesome and time-consuming undertaking. Installing pergolas for terraces and verandas will help you reduce costs and significantly save time. The robust, prefabricated structure can be integrated with any type of framed and frameless glazing. Installation time from 9 to 18 hours. And you will be absolutely spared from the dust and dirt common in construction.

CHILD CARE CENTERS

Photo: khv27.ru

A kindergarten for 240 children was built for the first time in Primorye under a public-private partnership, the institution will open in the Nadezhdinsky district, RIA VladNews reports with reference to the press service of the Primorsky Territory government.
“The preschool institution is part of the Format educational center, which also includes a 450-seat school under construction. These are the first educational facilities in the region, created on the basis of public-private partnership. The new kindergarten was visited by the Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation Irek Fayzullin and the Governor of the Primorsky Territory Oleg Kozhemyako , the report says.
It is noted that playgrounds and sports grounds were installed on the territory, the territory was landscaped. There is also a gym with developing simulators and children’s climbing walls, a music room, a sensory room, offices for medical staff, a speech therapist and a psychologist. This is the default welcome page used to test the correct
operation of the Apache2 server after installation on Debian systems.
If you can read this page, it means that the Apache HTTP server installed at
this site is working properly. You should replace this file (located at
/var/www/html/index.html) before continuing to operate your HTTP server.
If you are a normal user of this web site and don’t know what this page is
about, this probably means that the site is currently unavailable due to
maintenance.
If the problem persists, please contact the site’s administrator.
Debian’s Apache2 default configuration is different from the
upstream default configuration, and split into several files optimized for
interaction with Debian tools. The configuration system is fully documented in
/usr/share/doc/apache2/README.Debian.gz. Refer to this for the full
documentation. Documentation for the web server itself can be
found by accessing the manual if the apache2-doc
package was installed on this server.
The configuration layout for an Apache2 web server installation on Debian systems is as follows:
apache2.conf is the main configuration
file. It puts the pieces together by including all remaining configuration
files when starting up the web server.
ports. conf is always included from the
main configuration file. It is used to determine the listening ports for
incoming connections, and this file can be customized anytime.
Configuration files in the mods-enabled/,
conf-enabled/ and sites-enabled/ directories contain
particular configuration snippets which manage modules, global configuration
fragments, or virtual host configurations, respectively.
They are activated by symlinking available
configuration files from their respective
*-available/ counterparts. These should be managed
by using our helpers
a2enmod,
a2dismod,
a2ensite,
a2dissite,
and
a2enconf,
a2disconf
. See their respective man pages for detailed information.
The binary is called apache2. Due to the use of
environment variables, in the default configuration, apache2 needs to be
started/stopped with /etc/init.d/apache2 or apache2ctl. Calling /usr/bin/apache2 directly will not work with the
default configuration.
By default, Debian does not allow access through the web browser to any file apart of those located in /var/www,
public_html
directories (when enabled) and /usr/share (for web
applications). If your site is using a web document root
located elsewhere (such as in /srv) you may need to whitelist your
document root directory in /etc/apache2/apache2. conf.
The default Debian document root is /var/www/html. You
can make your own virtual hosts under /var/www. This is different
to previous releases which provides better security out of the box.
Please use the reportbug tool to report bugs in the
Apache2 package with Debian. However, check existing bug reports before reporting a new bug.
Please report bugs specific to modules (such as PHP and others)
to respective packages, not to the web server itself.

The Italian concern Tomasella developed from a small production in a difficult period. The year of foundation – 1948 – is not only a destabilized post-war period, but also the year when the Constitution of the Italian Republic was ratified. It was difficult to develop production in such conditions. Because Luigi Tomasella had to do the impossible. ” Create the future without forgetting the past is the motto of Tomasella, which fully describes the brand concept. Luigi has managed to involve children and grandchildren in the family business, gaining the trust and love of customers through a combination of classic handmade details and a modern base, produced on powerful equipment.

The age difference of a quarter of a century did not become an obstacle to the great love story of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, who lived together for twelve wonderful years, made four great films together and gave birth to two wonderful children.
Acquaintance of the actors
To Have and Have Not (1944) is the name of the war drama directed by Howard Hawks, which became the debut work of 19-year-old fashion model Lauren Bacall. On the set, the spectacular debutante met a highly experienced veteran whose career began in the late 1920s, and among the key projects was the cult Casablanca, although the artist will receive his Oscar after marrying Lauren. But let’s go in order.
Love story
Director and producer Hawkes (like Bogart, married and middle-aged) counted on the sympathy and gratitude of a young beauty who got the main role in a big film, and on a teacher-student relationship. However, the debutante fell in love with Bogi, who happily reciprocated, especially since the celebrity artist’s third marriage was bursting at the seams. The jealous wife of Mayo Meto suffered from paranoia, abused alcohol, made frequent scandals to her husband, threw dishes at him, attacked with a knife and once almost burned down the house, which the famous actor readily avoided, so as not to once again intersect with the insane fury, on whom he was hurt marry.
A romance began between the leading actors, which continued after the end of filming, although the husband remained in the family for almost a year, not wanting to start divorce proceedings again. The second meeting of lovers on the set took place on the noir project “Deep Sleep”, after which the Gods and Lauren decided never to part again. Their emotional connection was extremely strong and strong, despite the existing absolute dissimilarity of characters and a twofold difference in age. The man was a typical couch potato, preferred home comfort, although he was very fond of water attractions, and the woman could not live without parties and dance floors, she loved loud music, fireworks and could not stand the sea, suffering from terrible seasickness. Bogi also became very addicted to the bottle and strong cigarettes, which eventually led him to an early grave. Dissimilar husband and wife always found a compromise and points of attraction, besides, they had children. At 49, Bogart became a father for the first time, naming his first child Stephen after his character from the movie To Have and Have Not, where he met the love of his life. The daughter, who was born in the summer of 1952, was named by happy parents Leslie Howard.
In addition to children, the “Rat Pack” (“rat pack”) group, which united the interests of both parties, became a saving bridge between spouses of different characters. In addition to the founder Humphrey, the musical group included superstars Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Dean Martin, Errol Flynn and Mickey Rooney, who performed with amateur concerts in homes and at private Hollywood parties. Lauren was always present among the support group and described the activities of the “Rat Pack” as “getting drunk on bourbon and carousing until the morning.”
Life after death
Exhausted by cancer of the esophagus, Bogi spent the last months of his life in a wheelchair and at the time of his death weighed 36 kilograms. The celebrity actor died on January 14, 1957, and his beloved woman lived a long, happy and extremely productive life: engagement to Sinatra, marriage to Jason Robards, Golden Globe, Cesar, Tony, Oscar and a brilliant career that continued until the final months of his life (12 August 2014).
