394 Exciting Questions to Ask Kids (Fun, Silly, Get to Know Them Questions)

We thought this was a great idea for Family Day. This post was originally published on mominformed.com

Conversing with your children can be hard at times. This is especially true for young children who may have only recently learned how to speak in full sentences. Thinking about meaningful questions to ask kids, is important for their development.

I know that I struggle to have good conversations with full-grown adults, let alone children. You may feel the same way. Just like you, I love my little ones, and I want what’s best for them.

Having meaningful conversations is essential for their development, as well as building the parent-child relationship. So I’ve come up with some questions that can lead to meaningful, development- and relationship-enhancing conversations.

Why We Should Engage Our Kids With Questions

I’ve found that it is a lot easier to feel motivated to take action when I know the reason behind the practices. So before I give a list of my question ideas, I want to provide you with a background on why using these questions is essential.

Research has shown that when kids have brief, intensive conversations with adults, rare words are emphasized. Errors are corrected by being repeated correctly, and open-ended questions are used.

Children also have improved expressive vocabulary development. This coincides well with Vygotsky’s theory that children learn best through social interaction.

Scholars on the topic of language development shed light on how this can be accomplished, suggesting some ways that parents can encourage language development while conversing with their kids:

  1. utilize rich vocabulary,
  2. talk about the child’s interests,
  3. ask open-ended questions,
  4. take turns listening and speaking, and
  5. ask questions that encourage thinking.

These suggestions may seem simple, but they can make a gigantic difference. They are also not easy to do, even though they are straightforward. Having a handy list of questions at your disposal can make the process quite a bit easier.

So, without further ado, here are some questions you can ask your children to enrich their language development and relationship with them.

Get To Know You Questions For Kids

When getting to know your child, focus on learning about their likes and dislikes. I have many examples to get you started, but you probably know best which questions will get your child talking.

These questions are mostly closed-ended because they aim at giving you information about your child. But you can use these as conversation starters and turn them into a back-and-forth exchange.

Simply ask “why” when they respond with their answer. Also, I included questions that focus on the child’s likes and interests, but you can also learn about their dislikes and disinterests simply by flipping the question around.

Conclusion

Having conversations with kids is vital for their language, cognitive, and social development. Additionally, they can learn conversation skills, which are crucial to have later in life.

It also builds your relationship with your child. You can learn a lot about your child that you probably didn’t know by asking them these questions. Whether they are 2 or 17, it’s always a good idea to talk to your child.

How to Do It

Encourage your child to identify another child, perhaps of a different race or ethnicity, whom they don’t know well and would be open to becoming friends with.

Find two 30-minute periods when the children can meet up. If you’re a teacher, you might even want to find a time during class or lunch when the whole class can do this practice—especially at the beginning of the school year, so that kids who might not otherwise connect can get to know each other better.

During each meeting, have kids take turns asking and answering the sets of questions below, which become a bit more personal as the practice goes on.

Encourage children to spend relatively equivalent amounts of time talking and listening. At the outset, children can be reminded to only disclose information they feel comfortable with and to refrain from sharing information they feel is too personal.

Your child can also use some of these questions to help them become closer to an existing friend or get to know an acquaintance better. The questions below were designed for middle schoolers, but they could probably work for children in late elementary and early high school, too.

Why You Should Try It

This 36 questions activity can help children build closeness with someone they don’t know well, including a child from a different ethnicity.

Childhood friendships are important to well-being. Having just one friend can help kids be more invested in their schoolwork and protect them from being bullied. Friendships across ethnicities are especially valuable and lead kids to be more adaptable and socially confident. For example, kids with cross-ethnicity friendships tend to be better liked by other kids, be more self-confident, have a more positive mood, and feel safer at school.

But making friends can be awkward. Knowing how to talk to others in a way that fosters genuine connectivity and paves the way for real friendship—particularly with those who are different from us—is a valuable life skill. This exercise helps you guide your child to talk to other kids in that way.

This exercise is particularly useful at transition times, like when your family moves to a new place or when children start middle school with many students they don’t know.

Why It Works

The 36 questions are a mixture of opportunities for fun and self-disclosure. Mirroring the emotional journey of friendship, they become increasingly intimate, requiring partners to reveal more about themselves as they answer questions. Each series of 36 questions ends with one that plants the suggestion of friendship, such as: “Name one thing you like about me” or “What’s one thing we would do together if we became friends?”

Taking turns listening with genuine interest and curiosity, and the experience of feeling seen and heard, allow feelings of closeness to develop. Although there are no guarantees, this exercise creates fertile grounds for true friendship to blossom.

Evidence That It Works

Echols, L., & Ivanich, J. (2021). From “fast friends” to true friends: Can a contact intervention promote friendships in middle school? Journal of Research on Adolescence, 1–20.

Middle schoolers paired with an unfamiliar partner of the same age and gender met once a month for three months. Pairs got to know each other by taking turns asking the 36 questions, and then competed with other pairs to cooperatively build a block tower. At the end of three months, middle schoolers felt they had a closer relationship with their partner than other classmates. This was true for both male and female pairs, of the same ethnicity and different ethnicities.

50 questions for a three-year-old: what can you talk about with a small child | They gave birth and didn’t understand

Many parents can’t wait until it will be possible to consciously communicate with the child, and when this moment comes – approximately when the baby is three years old – comes, they don’t even know how establish contact. What to talk about with a child? What to discuss with him?

Romper has compiled a list of 50 questions to ask your toddler about topics they understand. Here is a helpful list for you.

“No, it’s normal”

👉 About everyday life

At the age of three, children lead an extremely active life, don’t you agree? Walks, activities, games, new acquaintances and adventures that begin as soon as the baby leaves the house. So you might as well talk about how his day went. Here’s what to ask.

  1. What did you do today?
  2. Was it interesting in the garden?
  3. What did you like best today?
  4. Were you kind to your friends?
  5. What did you eat? Did you like it?

👉 About food

Yes, speaking of food! All three-year-olds are still gourmets! By this time they are determined with what they like and especially with what they do not like. It’s time to ask them about their culinary preferences.

  1. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? And for lunch? And for dinner?
  2. What is your favorite snack? What delicious treats do you like?
  3. Do you like salty or sweet more?
  4. What would you like to try cooking with me?
  5. What food do you dislike the most?

👉 About sounds

Onomatopoeia is one of the most important elements of communication with a child. Together you meow, quack and low (don’t be afraid, we won’t tell anyone), but there are a lot of other sounds around that are unrelated to the animal world. Why not talk about them?

  1. What sounds do you think the truck makes?
  2. What sounds do you like?
  3. What sounds annoy you?
  4. What sound can you make best?
  5. How does daddy snore? about animals -or an idea and show how the world works around him. So animals are an inexhaustible topic for conversation.

    1. What is your favorite animal? Why?
    2. Where do ducks live?
    3. How does the pig speak?
    4. What animals live on the farm? And in the forest?
    5. What animal would you like to be?

    👉 About plans

In order for a child to know that he is a full-fledged member of the family, you need to give him responsibilities (of course, feasible), and also be interested in his opinion on a variety of topics. Let’s say you can discuss your next family plans with him.

    1. What do you like to do at the weekend?
    2. Where do you like to go most of all?
    3. Who do you want to visit?
    4. What will you wear when we go for a walk?
    5. What will we take with us?

    👉 About the family

The family helps the child to establish the first and strongest contacts with people. Be sure to discuss the topic of the family with the baby and answer his questions, as well as ask your own.

    1. What are the names of your family members?
    2. What do you like most about your family?
    3. Do you have a sister or brother?
    4. What can you do with your family?
    5. Who do you have besides mom and dad?

    👉 About feelings

Three years is a time of explosive feelings, when the acceleration from complete happiness to a fit of anger takes just a couple of seconds. Now it is very important to talk with the child about feelings and help him to live them.

    1. What makes you happy and cheerful? Why are you sad?
    2. What do you find scary? Why does it scare you?
    3. What was funny today?
    4. What can make you feel embarrassed?
    5. What is your favorite thing to do?

    👉 About classes

A three-year-old is constantly doing something, inventing and bringing it to life. Observe your child and ask him what he is doing.

    1. What would you like to do today?
    2. What crafts do you like to make the most?
    3. What do you like to do most in the garden/club?
    4. Do you prefer painting or singing?
    5. What games can be played on the playground?

👉 About the world around you

Children often start talking random nonsense when you go somewhere, or ask tons of questions when you are wildly late. Take the initiative in your own hands and start asking yourself – this will distract the child a little, and you will learn a lot of new things.

    1. What do you see around you?
    2. Do you think it will rain today?
    3. Don’t you think this cloud looks like you?
    4. What color are these birds? How do they sing?
    5. Today there are a lot of people on the street or not so much, what do you think?

    👉 About friends

Most likely, your child has already made the first friends from among classmates in the garden or comrades in the playground and development rooms. Talk to him about them.

    1. Who is your best friend?
    2. Are you a good friend?
    3. Do you like to take turns playing with your friends and not swear?
    4. What should friends do for each other?
    5. What do you like to do most with your friends?

P.S. Of course, this is only an approximate list of questions that you can change and transform according to your situation, feelings and taste. With this list, we just wanted to show that there are not so few topics that can be discussed even with a small child. We hope we inspired you a little!

Ask your child these questions and he will glow with happiness every day | About children

These are important questions to ask a child every day, starting from infancy. At various trainings, and simply on the Internet, you can find a bunch of questions that are advised to ask children. I think this is very inefficient. How can you ask thirty questions every day, and even the same ones?

The child just, sorry for the expression, gets bored and stops responding to them. And the questions themselves will end up being ineffective.

Therefore, I have selected the most effective ones. They will make the child happy and self-confident.
The first group of questions: You can ask them whenever you want, during the day.

    1. Are you happy? Always ask the child this question. Even if he is small, he will respond to such a question with a smile. When he grows up, he will already think – what do you mean? And he will answer yes to something, he will answer no to something.

At the age of 3-4 the child may answer “Not very”. And you ask why? And what was the happiest? What’s not so great? In this way, you teach the child to understand the state of happiness or what brings him to it.

By asking this question every day, children will calibrate this state of happiness and will no longer allow themselves to be unhappy in the future. They will not take jobs that will make them unhappy, or will not do things that do not bring happiness. They will create a family and being in a state of happiness will make everyone around them happy.

    2. Are you all right? Sometimes a child becomes thoughtful or sad, you need to ask him if everything is all right? This is done to organize a moment of cooperation. The child may not respond immediately, but he will gradually begin to realize if something is wrong with him. And he either cooperates with someone to solve the problem, or he solves it himself.

This is where the relationship between you and the child takes place, a trusting relationship is established. Even if he answers that everything is fine with him, while continuing to be sad, he will see that he is significant, that they think about him, they want to participate in his life.

This is such a small cost on your part, but so much benefit will bring to the child in terms of the child’s confidence in the family, in his importance, and learn how to interact with people in the future in life.

Questions of the 2nd group: these questions are a kind of conversation before going to bed that can improve your relationship with the child and the child can speak out, reset what has accumulated during the day.

    1. What was the best thing that happened to you today? The child can answer – “Everything”. But this is not the answer. You need to show him by example how to respond. For example; “The best thing for me today is that I met my girlfriend” or “I ate such a delicious cake today.” Over time, the child will understand the essence of the issue and you will share with each other the good things that happened to you during the day. This is very close.

    2. What was the worst thing today? What would you like not to be today? The first time the child may not answer this question either. Then you again show an example to him, telling that you had the worst day today.

Sharing with your child, he will feel your openness and over time will also begin to share with you his failures or experiences of the day.

Marketing to Children: Strategies & Their Effects

Students who are enrolled in master’s of communication degree programs may choose to follow the health and social change track when it comes time to select a concentration in the field. Although this graduate degree can provide a well-rounded communication education, it may be especially helpful for individuals who plan to work in the public policy or nonprofit sector in particular. Students in the process of earning a communications degree on this track who wish to learn about marketing in the media and how it affects children will find resources on these topics in this section.

Campaigns that target children

Many different organizations, ranging from governmental health agencies to cigarette companies, develop specific campaigns that are designed to appeal to children. These advertisements may target youths’ interests and attention in many ways, such as through the use of cartoon figures or the promise of maturity. For individuals who are pursuing communication degrees, learning how different marketing campaigns have designed initiatives to appeal to children may help them understand the different theories and approaches behind advertising and further prepare them for a future career.

Social marketing campaigns and children’s media use: This article from the Future of Children discusses the success that health officials have had promoting positive messages about food via social media. In addition, it argues that this is the best medium possible to run this type of marketing campaign.

Children and Internet marketing campaigns: The Bureau of Consumer Protection outlines the specific regulations that advertisers must follow when using the Internet as a marketing platform. It also lists guidelines for marketing to children, as laid out by the Federal Trade Commission.

The promotion and marketing of toys: The Future of Play Theory studies advertising campaigns marketed to children by toy companies, analyzing their techniques and the effect they have had on socialization.

An analysis of supermarket messages: A professor from an Ottawa-based university studies how advertising campaigns in the supermarket may have a larger impact on children’s consumer behavior than those seen on television. It also discusses how advertisements take advantage of the store setting to market their products.

Food and beverage marketing in school: This article traces how advertising campaigns first came to be accepted in schools and how the effect of marketing in this sphere has changed the way children eat and behave.

A social marketing campaign to promote low-fat milk: The Department of Health Education at a New York-based college studies the effect that the Washington Heights-Inwood Health Heart Program’s low-fat milk marketing campaign had on inner-city Latinos.

The effect of marketing campaigns on children

As some marketing campaigns have been specifically designed to target and appeal to children, these advertisements may affect the way that young individuals think or alter their perception of what they want. While some marketing strategies, such as the ones an individual may learn about in a health and social change communication program, push positive agendas, others encourage detrimental behavior in children. In this section, interested parties should find information on the different ways kids have been affected by marketing in the media.

Media and childhood obesity: The Federal Communications Commission has put out a report on childhood exposure to television and its relationship to obesity. While a direct link has not yet been established, the agency reports that children are highly receptive to messages in advertising, both good and bad.

Marketing and advertising is harmful to children’s health: The Lancet discusses how children have been exploited by the marketing industry and the negative repercussions that have come as a result. In addition, it examines the connection between the increased incidents of children developing type 2 diabetes and the food advertising industry.

Tobacco marketing and adolescent smoking: This study from the American Journal of Public Health examines the effect that marketing campaigns launched by tobacco companies have had on the propensity of young people to smoke.

Tobacco marketing through film: The Archives of Pediatric Adolescent Medicine conducted a study on how exposure to tobacco marketing on television and in movies affects how adolescents perceive smoking.

How to Advertise for Kids From 8 to 10 | Small Business

By Amber Keefer

With more businesses catering to children as their niche market, the messages advertisements send need to consider the ages of the kids they target. Kids actually take in more than adults from the advertising they see, says Millward Brown, a market research group. Children — even those 8 to 10 — recall more details and are able to remember what they see in an ad for a longer period of time.

Kid Appeal

  1. If you are in the business of selling to kids, get to know what kids want. Kids between ages 8 and 10 look for entertainment and are attracted to things that offer fun. One way to market to children is to use characters popular among that age group to promote your products. Kids also want to be accepted by their peers. Get children interested with ads that show children interacting with other children.

Get Their Attention

  1. Market in places where kids go. Distribute advertising posters in toy stores, bicycle shops, bookstores, community recreation centers and other locations that children frequent. Running video spot ads in local movie theaters is another way to reach out to kids. Product packaging also helps sell to kids. Bright colors and unusual designs catch a child’s attention. Develop brand awareness among kids by including slogans, catchy tunes and popular songs with lyrics written for children as part of an ad. Children also like ads that use cartoon characters to communicate a message.

Keep Your Name Out There

  1. Create a business logo with which kids can identify. Kids generally respond well to visual images and can often recognize hundreds of brand logos by the time they reach school age. Advertise your business by donating new items to a school fundraising event. If you own a sporting good store, offer children’s sports gear to be raffled off at a school carnival. Co-sponsor a school track and field day. Have your logo printed on colorful sports bottles that you hand out to children who participate in the event. You can usually purchase these and other promotional products for less than $1 each when you buy in bulk. Promotional products help get your business name out there and promote your image.

Television Advertising

  1. Small businesses sometimes use local or cable television advertising to reach their target market. Data collected by the Kaiser Family Foundation show that children ages 8 to 12 watch the most television and are exposed to more minutes of advertising. Advertising on local television stations costs about half of what it would to advertise nationally, according to Entrepreneur. com. The airtime rates of local affiliates vary, but you can usually purchase a multiple-week package at an affordable rate. The best time of the year to negotiate with a sales representative for a discount is the first quarter.

“The best for children” and other triggers: how marketers “force” parents to buy extra

What is the difference between “adult” and “children’s” marketing

The main difference between the “children’s” market is that here work is carried out on two segments of the target audience: parents – those who pay, and children – those who want and consume. Therefore, marketers use an integrated approach.

“There is a strong influence on the sphere of media trends: animated series, fairy tale characters, bloggers. The child is sold, first of all, not products, but impressions and a sense of belonging. In pursuit of them, a small consumer forces parents to follow the lead of marketers. Brands use two paths – follow trends or create them. For example, the Lego company chose the second option: today it is a whole universe – toys of different levels of complexity, for all ages, games and TV shows about the world from a multi-colored constructor,” explained Anna Kovtun, an expert in doing business on marketplaces.

Peculiarities of “children’s” advertising

According to lawyer Petr Gusyatnikov, the children’s niche of goods is strictly regulated by several laws, in particular “On Advertising” and “On Protection of Children”. For example, you cannot:

– discredit adults in advertising;

– make outcasts of children whose parents did not buy a product from an advertisement;

show children in dangerous situations. Yes, minors are very fond of superheroes, and a lot of spectacular videos could be made here. But manufacturers don’t risk walking on thin ice;

– create the illusion that a product or service is available to families of any income level;

– include in the advertisement an appeal to convince parents that they are obliged to buy goods for their children.

Therefore, niche marketers have much less room to maneuver. But advertising for children’s goods is the most positive and life-affirming.

“The best for children” and other triggers

As entrepreneur and marketer Margarita Bylinina told Gazeta. Ru, the main trump card of marketing is the use of psychological techniques that motivate a purchase:

“The statement “The best is for children” is firmly planted in the minds of the Russian consumer. But with the growth of awareness of parents, it should be noted that now it really should be the best. Like clothes, toys and household goods.

The expert clarified that specialists use different triggers for each group of goods. So, products for newborns are chosen and evaluated only by adults. And here comfort, safety, quality, guarantees come to the fore. Many phrases that are unlikely to work in other segments become keywords. For example: “Recommended by the Association of Pediatricians.” For comparison, when choosing toothpaste, the minimum percentage of consumers pay attention to the fact that the dentist recommends the product.

According to marketer Bylinina, children’s brands actively use visual triggers as well. Moreover, they are different for parents and for children. In the first case, it can be a chubby baby who smiles happily, or a baby sleeping sweetly with outstretched arms. The picture here is aimed at evoking tenderness and drawing parallels with your life.

“The calculation of specialists is simple – most often goods for children are bought by women, and for newborns – by women with “raging” hormones, and the intensity of their emotions is as high as possible,” the expert noted.

If the product belongs to a group in the selection and purchase of which children are directly involved, then the “series effect” usually works here: simple plots of commercials, a hint of a secret, a discovery, something unknown.

“Marketing specialists do not bypass fathers either. They have their own triggers “stored” for them: facts, figures and notes of nostalgia – the fulfillment of a childhood dream that did not come true many years ago. Typically, this approach is used for expensive and complex goods, for example, large construction kits, models of equipment, railways,” said Margarita Bylinina.

A relatively new trigger for baby products is sustainability. Parents are now studying the composition of products, the origin of the fabric, the components of paints have become important to them. Hence the trend for wooden toys. Therefore, marketers are now actively emphasizing the eco-orientation of their products.

Colored price tags and other marketing tricks

Margarita Bylinina listed the most popular tools.

In offline stores, in fitting rooms, sellers often leave other things on purpose – this stimulates additional purchases. Special layouts of departments have also been developed – basic items, for example, diapers and baby food, are specially located at the very end, behind rows with clothes, accessories and toys. The calculation is simple – most often women buy, and it is difficult for them not to linger at the counter with elegant overalls or educational rattles.

Of great importance in the formation of desire to buy are the design of racks and packaging of goods. But here, marketers mainly influence the direct consumer – the child. They put the life-size figures of popular cartoon characters, put their image on the stand, make “Try me” buttons on the packaging so that the child clicks on it and gets involved in the game process. A common trick is to use photos of other children on the package. The main trick here is that they often depict older children, this is done on purpose: a small consumer immediately wants what the “big ones” play with.

“Influencers are actively used. For adults, these are celebrities, for children, bloggers and cartoon characters. Such advertising automatically inspires confidence among the majority of consumers. Plus, the child is more likely to choose a package with a familiar hero than with someone he has never seen.

That’s why the rights to use famous characters are so expensive – a child’s acquaintance with them is directly converted into cash. Sometimes brands create their own hero, and often it is associated with the direct realization of needs. A vivid example is the characters on the boxes of ready-made breakfasts – a rabbit, a bear-cosmonaut, a bear “Barney”, Margarita Bylinina explained.

Colored price tags are also popular. Marketers have taught customers that a red and yellow price tag automatically means a good discount. Therefore, consumers put such a product in the basket without even studying all the details. And at the checkout, an unpleasant surprise may await them – in order to receive a discount, they will need to purchase a store card or buy a few more products.

“Gamification is a fresh tool. Now many manufacturers of children’s goods are launching their games, in which a promotional code is issued as a reward. This technique stimulates both audiences to buy – children want to receive a reward, parents rejoice at the benefits. Also, QR codes are placed on the packages, which lead to a virtual space, where various digital gifts are also issued, calls to collect collections of virtual heroes. The collectible trigger is a very effective hook for increasing sales,” Anna Kovtun noted.

According to experts, the omnichannel approach is also gaining popularity, that is, a symbiosis of online and offline impact on the consumer. For example, Kinder Surprise made an application in which toys come to life in augmented reality. Using it, the child will constantly ask his parents to buy another chocolate egg in order to “settle” the houses of new heroes.

How to protect yourself and your child from unreasonable purchases

According to Margarita Bylinina, the main thing here is to be able to talk to a child correctly. On the one hand, it is important to form in children the idea of the boundaries and that not all of their desires will be fulfilled. On the other hand, do not go too far. “I don’t have money”, “We can’t afford it”, “This is some kind of horror” are unacceptable phrases, they traumatize children, distort their perception and form blocking beliefs.

“The easiest way to avoid unnecessary purchases is not to take your child to the store, make a list in advance and go shopping in a good mood and on a full stomach: then you won’t want to get positive emotions with the help of shopping,” the expert advised.

If you are traveling with a child, the best option in case of a dispute is to divert his attention. Switch to another toy, or a pleasant thing – for example, going to the playground. After all, as already mentioned, children do not want a purchase, but an emotion. With teenagers, it is best to find a compromise.

Margarita Bylinina noted that it is definitely worth using parental control of Internet resources. The less the child watches the unboxing video, the higher the chance that he will not ask to buy another “wonder product”.

Internet impact statistics for children

Widespread access to the Internet has inexorably created a new group of target audience for business – children. Yes, perhaps not all adults are aware of how much time a child can spend online, but experienced marketers are well aware of this. They are not only aware of the peculiarities of the behavior of the young generation in the network, but also know how to use it in the development of commercial projects.

Brief statistics on children online

According to the theory of generations, the youngest segment of people on the planet are those born after the 2000s. This period will last until 2020-2022, and then experts will be able to announce the birth of a new generation of young people. Therefore, we will talk about young users who are currently no more than 18 years old.

Children’s lifestyle includes many activities through mobile devices and traditional PCs. Someone does their homework, learns new skills, gets useful information. Others spend hours playing games and having fun online. Take a look at the statistics and most parents will be confused.

According to US statistics from SellCell, based on a survey of 1135 parents in the US with children aged 4-14, we get the following theses: children).

If we talk about the daily online activities of children, we will get the following figures: 22.5% spend less than an hour, 35.6% about 1-2 hours, 26. 9% about 3-4 hours and 15.1 % – more than 4 hours a day.

It is difficult to draw conclusions from these statistics because they do not show exactly what young users are doing. But the following data will balance the report and are guaranteed to surprise twice

– 12% of children start using different gadgets at an extremely early age (at 1-2 years).

The age of the average user is actively decreasing. Every year he gets younger and younger, demonstrating that today children can use smartphones before they start talking and walking.

At this pace of device development, 65% of young users already own their own phone by the age of 13 (as of July 2019). This figure will increase even more in the coming years.

– 57% of children use their mobile phones for games and entertainment applications.

This huge figure shows that due to their age and interests, children tend to waste time. After playing games, young users have the following priorities for using the Internet: watching videos, taking photos and videos, chatting with family and friends, listening to music, using social networks and doing homework.

Unfortunately, education is at the bottom of the list of children’s priorities. According to the same study, only 18% of children learn and do their homework through the use of smartphones and tablets.

– 40% of parents admit that they allow their child to use gadgets only to be alone for a while.

One of the saddest aspects of the study. Yes, 68% of parents say they see mobile device use as a positive impact on their child’s development. But to be honest, many of them get tired or do not want to work with children, so they shift this responsibility to the Internet and mobile gadgets.

Therefore, the cost of parents for a smartphone for a child can also surprise. A quarter of Americans spend up to $250 on a new device, and 4% are willing to spend $850 or more. Such data indicates an increase in the availability of mobile devices, which also has a positive effect on the mobile advertising market.

How marketers nurture young target audience

Marketers and advertisers know how to identify the interests of the younger generation as accurately as they can identify adult market participants. They work with them in such a way that the brand’s image and features can grow with their consumer. To nurture a young audience, they use a multi-stage system of influence:

Stage 1. Parents + own observations

Children go to supermarkets and shops together with mom and dad, who lay down basic behavior patterns. In salesrooms and on television, they see a variety of products, and how parents interact with these products. Before the child learns to make his own decisions, he will observe the behavior of his parents.

Step 2 Parents + Expression of Interest

Children start asking mom and dad about the goods and services they see. They are attracted by colorful ads, captivating content, funny slogans and product descriptions. This is how primary interest is formed.

Stage 3. Parents + purchase of their choice with permission

After forming their own preferences and with the permission of their parents, they make their first purchases. At this stage, children already know how to distinguish between brands and choose their favorite ones.

Stage 4. Parents + attempts to make independent decisions

Past experience (own and parental), as well as a little pocket money, opens the child to the world of shopping. Now he can be active almost on the same level as adult buyers. The influence of advertising is further enhanced.

Stage 4. independent shopping

At each stage, the influence of adults remains enormous, but its character changes: gradually the child is listened to. And only at the last stage does he become a full-fledged buyer who is able to manage personal funds.

Thus, children’s marketing involves the use of almost any form of content marketing. You can use banner ads, useful texts, social networks, and so on.

Children’s Marketing and Social Responsibility

Today, the question often arises of how children are able to understand the impact of advertising on themselves and isolate themselves from manipulation. Experts assure that the child does not distinguish between a selling text and an informational one, therefore it is very easy to be influenced (both positive and negative). For marketers, this is a plus, but not for worried parents.

Speaking of young consumers, we cannot rely entirely on the principles of modern marketing. Agree, each of our actions has a significant impact on the formation of children’s horizons and perception of the world as a whole. Moreover, online and offline advertising can directly or indirectly influence the education of an entire generation, and often not in a positive way.

Those who only yesterday learned to read and write today use the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet with might and main. Thus, the idea of the social responsibility of business prevails. After all, information on the network and numerous brands cannot pursue only selfish goals.

Personalization and focus on the interests of the client taught businesses to be more loyal, to strive to help the buyer and provide him with the necessary content.

Candidates for vacancies are given logical problems to assess their analytical skills. Anyone can face such questions. But even if this does not happen to you, it will be simply interesting to study them for preparation.

Candidates who encounter puzzles during the interview process should not panic and get lost. As a rule, in most cases it is enough to show the course of your thoughts and ways to solve the problem. It may well be that the problem does not have a correct solution or an unambiguous answer. In no case should you say “I don’t know” or “I find it difficult to answer”, just think out loud.

So that you know what to be prepared for and not get confused, Work. ua has collected the most popular puzzle questions and prepared answers and recommendations for them. Who knows, maybe you will come across exactly these tasks.

All of these puzzles can be asked of you when interviewing for a php programmer job.

Manholes

This is perhaps the most common question among all puzzles.

Question: Why are manholes round?

Answer: There are several options. Since the diameter of the circle is the same, no matter how you twist it, the round hatch cannot fall into the well. A square, for example, has a diagonal larger than its sides, so the lid could fall off. You can also answer that round hatches are easier to transport and move.

Bulbs

Question: There are 3 bulbs in a closed room and 3 switches in the hallway. What is the minimum door opening required to determine which switch belongs to which bulb?

Answer: For one discovery. We turn on 2 switches at the same time, after a while we turn off the second one. We go into the room: one of the bulbs remains on – this is the first switch, then we feel the remaining bulbs – the warm one will be the second switch, and the cold one, respectively, the third.

Cake

Question: How to cut a cake into 8 equal parts using 3 cuts?

Answer: First you need to make 2 cross-cuts, dividing the cake into 4 equal parts. Then cut the cake horizontally in half. So what if the pieces have become low, but you have 8 equal parts. You can also, after the first two cuts, put the pieces on top of each other and halve them in one cut.

A dead man and a match

Question: A dead man was found in the field with a match in his hands, no traces. What did he die of and under what circumstances?

Answer: A man died from a fall from an airplane that began to lose altitude, and an accident was inevitable. One parachute was not enough for all the passengers and they drew lots. He got a short match, and he was forced to jump without a parachute.

Bus and balls

Question: How many tennis balls will fit on the bus?

Answer: The recruiter himself does not know the exact correct answer, since it is not specified what kind of balls and bus they are – their sizes are not known, and no one has checked this thoroughly. Therefore, the course of your thoughts is important here, you can only guess. Name the approximate length, width and height of the bus, the dimensions of one ball. Calculate the volume of the bus and the ball – this way you will find out how many balls will fit in an empty bus. Decrease approximately this value, taking into account the seats and other details of the bus, make allowance for the fact that the balls are not square and give an answer. In this case, the process of finding an answer is more important than the answer itself. The options for the question can be different: footballs – footballs, instead of a bus – a room, etc.

Tablets

Question: The doctor gave the patient 4 tablets of two types – 2 tablets of each, which cannot be distinguished by their appearance. Tablets should be drunk in two doses: in the morning, one tablet of each type and in the same evening. If you violate the dosage or do not take the pills, the patient will die. So it turned out that the pills were mixed. How to get treatment and survive?

Answer: Of course, you can say that it’s better to go to the doctor and ask for more, after all, it’s a matter of life and death. But these may be the only pills on Earth, the doctor may disappear under mysterious circumstances, and so on. So you still have to answer. In addition, everything is quite simple: you need to divide each tablet into 2 parts and drink half of each tablet in the morning and evening.

In conclusion

Remember that, first of all, such tasks and puzzles are designed to test the candidate’s behavior in non-standard situations, to assess the ability to think, creative and logical approach. Alas, there are often cases when the interviewer cannot correctly interpret the results of such questions, or does not understand their purpose at all. But even in this situation, confident behavior and the desire to come to an answer will show you from the best side and increase the chances of getting a job.

To get acquainted

At the beginning of any holiday, the guys should get to know each other. You can do this in a playful way. To do this, you need to make two stacks of cards. Some will have an interesting question, others a funny or serious answer.

Before playing, the cards in each pile must be shuffled well and then placed on the table. The guys, having heard the question, will take turns coming up and taking one with the answer. Then read out loud. As a rule, the answers will not coincide with the questions, which will make the game more fun.

Another option is to shuffle the cards and distribute an equal amount to all players. After hearing the question, they will have to choose the answer themselves.

Sergey Kravchuk: We will complete the kindergarten on Zaparina street this year | News

It will be designed to receive 190 children, its construction is carried out within the framework of the national project “Demography”.

Photo: Khabarovsk city administration press service

The construction of a new kindergarten on Zaparina Street will be completed at the end of this year. This pre-school institution, designed for 190 children, is being built as part of the implementation of the national project “Demography”, reports the correspondent of the portal PROkhab.ru.

Today, the construction site located on Zaparin Street between Serysheva Street and Amur Boulevard in the center of the regional capital was personally visited by the Mayor of Khabarovsk Sergey Kravchuk. He examined the progress of ongoing work and talked with contractors, and also told reporters that the decision to build another kindergarten in the center of Khabarovsk was made due to the construction of a large residential complex “Amursky Quarter” on the site of the GUPRovsky town. And now the residents of these high-rise new buildings will be provided with places in the kindergarten for their children.

It is worth noting that four nursery groups will be created in the future kindergarten, which can accommodate up to 60 babies aged 2 months or older. In addition, this building will have a pitched roof, as the guarantee for it reaches 50 years. The construction of the kindergarten is being carried out as part of the implementation of the national project “Demography” at the expense of the federal, regional and city budgets. At the moment, the builders have finished concreting the technical, first and second floors of the building, having started pouring concrete on the walls of the third floor. In addition, they have already made the external waterproofing of the basement walls and completed the installation of wall drainage.

— It is necessary to complete not only asphalt laying, but also to plant green spaces, install fences and children’s play areas, and provide lighting before frost. This “Customer Service” should take it into its “armament” and, together with the contractor, develop a roadmap for improvement. The deadlines are tight – in December of this year we have to hand over the kindergarten, – said Sergey Kravchuk , instructing contractors to speed up the improvement of the territory adjacent to the object, as long as the weather permits.

Simultaneously with the construction of the kindergarten, the city authorities are recruiting people who will work in it after it is put into operation. Also, all educational programs have already been developed, which will soon be applied in this preschool institution. In addition, members of the public council for the development of the Kirovsky District are actively following the construction of a kindergarten on Zaparina Street, because many families with small children live in this area, and they are all waiting for the new kindergarten to appear.

A court in Krasnoyarsk placed a 19-year-old girl under arrest, who came to a kindergarten with a gun. The message is posted on the website of the regional department of the Investigative Committee. The girl is suspected of murder (part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code), as well as attempted murder of minors in a generally dangerous way (part 3 of article 30, subparagraphs “a”, “c”, “e”, part 2 of article 105 UK).

On March 28, the girl came to kindergarten No. 31, located on Menzhinsky Street in Krasnoyarsk. On the pretext that she needed to pick up the child, she went inside the building. However, three teachers who met her in the group noticed that she had a gun under her coat and asked her to go to the locker room.

“One of the educators took measures to seize the weapon, during which a shot was fired at the wall of the group’s premises. At that moment, the physical education instructor knocked the intruder to the floor and held her until the police arrived, ”the IC said in a statement.

rbc.group

No children were injured as a result of the shooting. The police seized a gun and 39 rounds of ammunition from the girl. Investigators also believe that the girl, before visiting the kindergarten, quarreled with her 56-year-old father and killed him, and a few days before the incident, she came to the kindergarten under the pretext of employment in order to fix the layout of the building, the UK points out.

rbc.group

“During the interrogation, the woman explained that she intended to commit the murder of male children,” the agency says.

According to TVK Krasnoyarsk, the girl is the daughter of one of the employees of the TV channel, who shortly before the incident changed her first and last name, and after that she received a weapon permit. According to the TV channel, she owned a smooth-bore multi-shot MP-135 pump-action shotgun.

Kids at daycare: 5 Things Your Child will Learn at Daycare

5 Things Your Child will Learn at Daycare

Every day, millions of children will laugh, learn, and play at one of the thousands of child care facilities across the United States.  Daycare is a great option both for parents who have busy work schedules and for their children who can gain from daycare’s many benefits.  A good child care center gives children a safe and nurturing place to explore the world around them while also learning and gaining important skills needed to thrive both in school and in life. Here are five advantages of placing your child in an early education program at an accredited childcare center.

1. Social Skills

Attending daycare allows children to develop social skills early on which are valuable for their social and emotional development. Learning how to deal with other people allows children to grow and the earlier a child begins to build his or her social kills, the easier it will become. Interacting regularly with other kids means learning how to better relate to their peers and also better understanding their emotions and ways of solving problems.

Another way kids can benefit socially and emotionally is by learning important values early on such as sharing, working together, kindness, and respect for others. These traits will become invaluable as they progress through the developmental years and into adulthood.

2. Self-Assurance

When children interact with people other than their parents, whether peers or adult care givers, they learn to trust other people and be more confident with themselves. This can reduce separation anxiety when kids start school. Small children have difficulty understanding the concept of time, which can lead to feelings of anxiety when separated from their parents.  Through the daily routine of engaging with another group of supportive adult caregivers and fellowship of other kids around them can help them to overcome fears of being separated from their mom and dad.

3. Cognitive skills

Children can benefit cognitively from the activities and learning games offered at a quality child care center. They will learn language skills, colors and numbers, and more. In addition, children learn and develop thinking skills by playing and exploring the world through their curiosity.  A good daycare facility will include several types of learning exercises each day, often disguised as “play” so that children are more likely to enjoy the learning process.

4. Immunity to Illnesses

Another often overlooked advantage of daycare is that children are more exposed to illnesses, which can build up their immunity to them. This can mean less sick days during the upcoming school years.   Also, a good child care facility will teach students the importance of proper hygiene techniques, from how and when to wash their hands to the proper way to blow their noses and dispose of tissues.

5. Discipline

The structure and routine in child care facilities gives children a sense of stability and familiarity each day.   Most programs follow set schedules for snack time, naps, and activities.  This instills a routine that teaches children discipline around their daily tasks and a sense of consistency that allows them to feel more emotionally secure.  Time management is often cited as one of the keys to success in life and learning this valuable skill as a child can build habit that will carry throughout a young person’s entire life.

The time that a child spends in day care can be very rewarding, leaving them with valuable skills in addition to hours of fun and socializing with other kids.  The right daycare facility can provide a safe, nurturing environment for children that will help prepare them for school and beyond.

Infants are fed bottles and baby foods according to their individualized schedules. Albany Med Kids provides formula (Enfamil with iron), infant cereal, vegetables and fruit, or parents may choose to bring in their own pumped breast milk, formula or food. Nursing mothers are encouraged to nurse their infants at any time in our private nursing area. All parents are welcome to visit their infants at any time throughout the day.

At the end of each day, you will receive a report from your baby’s teachers noting how much your child ate, length of naps, number of diaper changes, and any other pertinent information about the day.

Toddlers

Our toddler curriculum is designed to promote each child’s growing independence and development. Children are stimulated through learning centers that encourage gross and fine motor skills, language, and cognitive skills. Social skills are gained through family-style meals, the sharing of toys, and small group play. We foster each child’s sense of independence by practicing skills such as getting dressed, eating with a spoon, and drinking from a cup. Private space is available for toddlers who are ready to begin potty training.

At this age, scheduled nap time is encouraged from 1 to 3 p.m. each day. Children who do not sleep during rest time are offered a quiet activity.

Preschool

Our preschool classrooms focus on each child’s increasing curiosity and newly emerging skills through advanced learning centers for interests in arts, math, reading, and science. Children are encouraged to experiment and explore with a variety of textures like sand, water, and clay, and other scientific investigation equipment. Imaginations are developed through dramatic play props such as those for housekeeping and transportation. Art projects using paper, paint, markers and other materials foster creative expression. Children are taught to be responsible and to help others by taking turns with classroom chores.

By the end of preschool, our goal is for your child to recognize his or her name, be able to identify shapes and colors, and begin to recite numbers and letters.

Pre-K

In their final year before transitioning to kindergarten, our goal is for children in our pre-K program to have built a solid foundation of readiness skills, allowing them to successfully move into a more formal educational setting.

Through our curriculum, we strive to help your child accomplish the following objectives by the end of pre-K:

What and how children eat in kindergarten. Answers to the most frequent questions of parents

At the parent meeting before the start of the school year, it is important to tell what and how children will be fed in kindergarten. For a brief and reasoned discussion with parents about the most important nutritional issues, see the expert comments. Their answers take into account new methodological recommendations. Do not forget to listen to the opinion and wishes of the parents as well. They must be relied upon when compiling the menu.

Questions to discuss with parents

1

Which menu is more convenient and useful: a two-week or four-week menu.

4

Is it possible to bring treats to a birthday party.

2

What to give for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner.

5

What to do if your child is allergic to a food.

3

Is it necessary to force children to eat.

6

Do I need to prepare oxygen cocktails in kindergarten.

Which menu is more convenient and useful: a two-week or a four-week menu?

The menu must be drawn up for at least two weeks (according to new MP 2.4.5.0131–18). However, it is better if the kindergarten has a four-week cyclical menu.

It includes a larger set of products and makes food more varied, food stereotypes are not created in children. In such a menu, for example, a larger assortment of cereals, vegetables in the form of vegetable dishes, soups, salads. However, its cost is slightly higher. The main thing is that the menu should have a mandatory set of products. Below you will find a list of them that you can distribute to your parents.

Download the table birthday party?

SanPiN prohibits bringing food from home to kindergarten. But you can bring industrial products in individual packaging. However, nutritionists do not recommend doing this. Parents usually buy products that contain a lot of artificial additives, a lot of sugar: juices, chocolates, lollipops, sweet cookies. Healthy products (fruits, berries) cannot be brought because of the epidemiological danger. If parents really want to celebrate a child’s birthday, advise bringing marshmallows, high-quality cookies, and drying. And it is better to give a drink that is prepared in kindergarten – tea, herbal tea, compote.

Private vocational educational institution “Siberian Regional School (College) of Anna Muratova” invites everyone to study under the programs of secondary vocational education:

  • 44.02.01. Pre-school education
  • 44.02.04. Special preschool education
  • 44.02.02. Teaching in elementary grades

Anyone who has a certificate of basic general or secondary general education can study. Read more here.

What to give for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner?

Breakfast in the kindergarten consists of a hot dish: porridge, casserole, cottage cheese or egg dishes. It also includes a sandwich and a hot drink. The second breakfast is a dessert: fruit, juice. Lunch may include an appetizer, a first course, a second course, and a drink. An appetizer is a salad or portioned vegetables, herring with onions. The first course is soup. The second dish of meat, fish or poultry with a side dish. Drink – compote or jelly, fortified drink, juice. For an afternoon snack, children receive milk, sour-milk drinks, juices or tea with bakery or confectionery products without cream. For an afternoon snack, you can also cook cottage cheese or cereal casseroles. Dinner includes fish, meat, vegetable and cottage cheese dishes, salads and hot drinks.

How to feed children in the evening at home?

If the child was in kindergarten for 12 hours, he had a full dinner from 18:30 to 19:00. Upon returning home, ask the child if he wants to eat, and if the baby is hungry, offer him a second dinner. Dinner should be no more than five percent of the daily calorie intake. The most successful option is fermented milk products: fermented baked milk, yogurt, kefir, curdled milk in a volume of 150–200 ml. This allows you to comply with the daily routine, which provides for timely preparation for sleep in the period no later than 21:00–21:30. Higher calorie supplementary dinner from 19:30 to 20:30 can cause overweight and obesity.

Should children be forced to eat?

It is impossible to force a child to eat, whatever the reasons for his refusal to eat. When a child does not want to eat, the body does not secrete gastric juice, which is necessary for proper digestion. Educators must find the right approach to the baby, never forgetting the main thing: no negative emotions at the table. But a child’s body needs a variety of nutrients for full growth and development. If a child does not eat well in kindergarten, give parents a reminder with which they can correct this situation.

What should I do if my child is allergic to a food?

If the child is allergic to any product, the parents must bring a statement from the gastroenterologist and pediatrician. Some kindergartens have health-improving groups, for whose children a special menu has been developed. But it is also possible to exclude or replace a product that the child does not absorb well in the usual group. The main thing is that educators and a nurse should know about this.

Products are excluded from the menu for children, taking into account their individual intolerance. But usually they do not give citrus fruits, seafood, chocolate and chocolate products. Cow’s milk products can be replaced with fermented milk products. Do not add spices and spices to soups and main dishes. Children with food allergies are also not given sausages, sausages, boiled sausage, fatty fish. Limit foods that contain a large amount of organic acids: sour apples, cranberries.

Do I need to prepare oxygen cocktails in kindergarten?

Oxygen cocktails are good for children. They provide the body with oxygen, increase immunity, improve blood circulation and metabolism. They are necessary for children who attend sports sections or additional classes, as an oxygen cocktail restores strength and improves memory.

But oxygen cocktails are not food. They can be given to children only as directed by a doctor. Doses and composition are also determined by the doctor, and the nurse prepares the cocktail. Oxygen cocktails are given in courses of 10-15 days, with breaks of 1-2 months, several times a year, during the period when walking time is reduced due to bad weather.

The oxygen cocktail includes fruit and berry syrups, herbal extracts, natural flavors, thickeners and shaping agents: gelatin, egg white. This mixture is saturated with oxygen, with which the therapeutic and prophylactic effect is associated.

Pictures of children in kindergarten

Going to kindergarten is an important stage in a child’s life. The kid goes through socialization, learns to communicate with other children. But this stage is not easy for everyone. Many children painfully perceive even a short separation from their parents. They are afraid that they will be offended in the kindergarten, they are afraid to stay with the teachers. Pictures and photos of children walking in kindergarten will help to overcome fears.

– discredit adults in advertising;

– make outcasts of children whose parents did not buy a product from an advertisement;

show children in dangerous situations. Yes, minors are very fond of superheroes, and a lot of spectacular videos could be made here. But manufacturers don’t risk walking on thin ice;

– create the illusion that a product or service is available to families of any income level;

– discredit adults in advertising;

– make outcasts of children whose parents did not buy a product from an advertisement;

show children in dangerous situations. Yes, minors are very fond of superheroes, and a lot of spectacular videos could be made here. But manufacturers don’t risk walking on thin ice;

– create the illusion that a product or service is available to families of any income level;
