Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Eligibility Requirements

The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

If your children need health coverage, they may be eligible for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

CHIP provides low-cost health coverage to children in families that earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid. In some states, CHIP covers pregnant women. Each state offers CHIP coverage, and works closely with its state Medicaid program.

See if your children qualify and apply for CHIP

Each state program has its own rules about who qualifies for CHIP. You can apply right now, any time of year, and find out if you qualify. If you apply for Medicaid coverage to your state agency, you’ll also find out if your children qualify for CHIP. If they qualify, you won’t have to buy an insurance plan to cover them.

2 ways to apply for CHIP:

  • Call 1-800-318-2596 (TTY: 1-855-889-4325).
  • Fill out an application through the Health Insurance Marketplace®. If it looks like anyone in your household qualifies for Medicaid or CHIP, we’ll send your information to your state agency. They’ll contact you about enrollment. When you submit your Marketplace application, you’ll also find out if you qualify for an individual insurance plan with savings based on your income instead. Create an account or log in to an existing account to get started.

Notice:

FYI: Apply any time

You can apply for and enroll in Medicaid or CHIP any time of year. There’s no limited enrollment period for either Medicaid or CHIP. If you qualify, your coverage can start immediately.

What CHIP covers

CHIP benefits are different in each state. But all states provide comprehensive coverage, including:

  • Routine check-ups
  • Immunizations
  • Doctor visits
  • Prescriptions
  • Dental and vision care
  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital care
  • Laboratory and X-ray services
  • Emergency services

States may provide more CHIP benefits.  Check with your state for information about covered services.

What CHIP costs

Routine “well child” doctor and dental visits are free under CHIP. But there may be

A fixed amount ($20, for example) you pay for a covered health care service after you’ve paid your deductible.

Refer to glossary for more details.

for other services. Some states charge a monthly

The amount you pay for your health insurance every month. In addition to your premium, you usually have to pay other costs for your health care, including a deductible, copayments, and coinsurance. If you have a Marketplace health plan, you may be able to lower your costs with a premium tax credit.

Refer to glossary for more details.

for CHIP coverage. The costs are different in each state, but you won’t have to pay more than 5% of your family’s income for the year.

Home – Safe Families for Children

Safe Families for Children seeks to keep children safe and families together. Safe Families for Children is rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goals are to prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system, and support and stabilize families.

Why I Started Safe Families?

Twenty years ago, I believe the Lord put a calling on my life. After working in ministry, launching a church, and then running a child welfare agency, I believe the Lord gave me the mission of Safe Families.  It was driven by an incredible sadness regarding the suffering children have to endure related to child abuse and retraumatizing in the child welfare system. Research shows that children who remain at home even with marginal parents have better outcomes than those children who are forcibly removed and experience the placement disruption of foster care.

That’s where Safe Families came in. My passion was to help the most vulnerable children and their parents. These are families that are on the edge of going into foster care. These are families that had no one to call when facing a crisis or dealing with unmanageable circumstances. However, how do we help them? At the same time, my heart was burdened with the mission of the Church, and its unique calling to change agents in society. As I continued to pray, the Lord birthed a powerful vision for the Church to answer the call to support vulnerable children and families through biblical hospitality.

Safe Families For Children serves families who lack social networks and live in isolation without support of family and friends dealing with crises such as homelessness, unemployment, child abuse, domestic violence, medical emergencies and alcohol/drug rehabilitation.

Safe Families for Children helps provide radical hospitality to families in crisis.

GPs – choosing and visiting a family doctor

A General Practitioner is also known as a GP, a local doctor or a family doctor. GPs specialise in general practice medicine, which means they care for many different health problems in all age groups. Some GPs have extra qualifications in a specialised area, such as pregnancy or
immunisations.

Almost all non-emergency medical problems should begin with a GP visit, and the GP will refer your child to a specialist if needed.

It is important to have your own regular GP who knows you and your children, and who has access to your complete medical history. This will allow the GP to develop an understanding of your family’s health needs so they can decide on the best treatment for you. A regular GP can get to know you
and help you feel comfortable to talk openly about personal issues.

Your GP will be able to:

  • provide immunisations
  • monitor children’s health and development
  • treat non-serious accidents (e.g. cuts that need stitches, minor bangs to the head, and plastering some fractures)
  • talk about your personal concerns and stresses
  • make referrals to other service providers and support agencies
  • liaise with hospital staff to help manage your child’s care after being in hospital.

There may be times when you or your GP want to get a second opinion from a specialist. Your GP can help you to choose where you may wish to go and the reason for the second opinion.

Finding and choosing the right GP

When looking for a GP, ask friends or family members who they recommend, or ask your Maternal and Child Health Nurse.

You can look for a doctor online via
Healthdirect. Ask clinics in your local area if any of their doctors have a special interest in treating children.

To help decide whether a new GP is right for you, ask yourself the following questions on your first visit:

  • Do I feel comfortable with this GP?
  • Do they listen to what I have to say?
  • Do I feel comfortable asking questions?
  • Does this GP understand my cultural needs?
  • Does this GP allow me to choose treatments that suit my beliefs?
  • Can I make a longer appointment time if necessary?
  • Is this GP easy for me to get to?
  • Do the clinic’s opening hours suit me?
  • Does the clinic’s payment plan suit me?

How to make the most of GP appointments

You will need to book an appointment to see a GP, unless it is urgent. In urgent cases, your GP may be able to fit you in ahead of patients waiting with less urgent issues. In these cases, try to call ahead if possible. Some GP clinics offer walk-in appointments where a
booking is not necessary.

Most appointments are 10–15 minutes long. This is enough time for most simple general health problems. If you think the concern is more complex, or there are a number of issues you want to discuss, ask for a longer appointment. Ensure a separate appointment is booked for every person you wish to be seen on the day.

Before the appointment:

  • write down the reason/s for your visit and any questions you wish to ask
  • make a list of all the medications your child is taking, including any complementary or alternative therapies.

During your visit:

  • be prepared to discuss your concerns openly and honestly
  • write down anything that is important or that you might forget
  • ask questions if there is anything you don’t understand.

Accessing a GP after hours

If you are worried about your child after hours, but don’t feel that an emergency department visit is necessary, you may want to see an after-hours GP rather than wait until the next morning to see your regular GP.

Call your GP and listen to their telephone message. They usually have an after-hours number to contact in urgent cases. If they don’t, then you could phone NURSE-ON-CALL (1300 60 60 24 in Victoria), or call Healthdirect (1800 022 222 in all Australian states and territories) for
health advice and information on after-hours GPs. Or use Healthdirect’s
Find a health service to locate after-hours GP services in your area.

Many after-hours GP services are bulk billed. When you call an after-hours service, ask the operator for an explanation of any fees that may be charged for the appointment.

Your regular GP will be sent a report about the visit the next day.

Pre-referral guidelines

Sometimes your GP may refer your child to see a specialist for a second opinion or further advice. Waiting lists to see specialists at public clinics can sometimes be quite long. However, there may be several things your GP can do instead of referring you to a specialist at a hospital,
or that you can do while you wait for an appointment. If the waiting lists are very long, ask your doctor about alternatives (e.g. a private referral or other community services).

Your GP will have access to a variety of pre-referral guidelines about what services are available. These guidelines help them to make a decision about what tests or treatment your child should have before being seen at a hospital. This will make your
child’s eventual appointment more useful. It may also mean your child is seen more quickly or may even mean your child won’t need a referral after all. While you should not use these guidelines yourself to decide on treatment for your child, it may be helpful to suggest them to your GP.

Your child’s GP may also try calling a specialist for advice. This, however, may take some time, depending upon the working hours of the GP and the specialist. Email cannot be used for confidentiality reasons.

If your child needs to come into hospital

  • Tell hospital admissions your GP’s name, address and phone number.
  • Ask for a copy of the discharge summary when you are going home.
  • Ask if a copy of the discharge summary is being sent to your GP.
  • Ask the hospital doctor when your child should next see your GP.

Key points to remember

  • A GP can give valuable advice and information on health and illness for all the family.
  • It is important to have your own GP who knows you and has access to your complete medical history in order to provide the most appropriate care.
  • To make the most of your visit to the GP, think about what you want to ask before you go and write down all your questions. During the appointment ask questions if there is anything you don’t understand.
  • Always book an individual appointment for each child who is unwell or you would like an opinion about.
  • If your child needs to come into hospital, give the hospital your GP’s details.

Common questions our doctors are asked

How do I know if I should visit the GP or take my child to
the emergency department?

If your child is able to be settled, drinking well and responds to simple comfort measures, most problems can wait until the morning. If you are unsure if it can wait until the next day, please call your GP first for advice about making an appointment with them or how to access their locum service. If you are more worried, emergency departments are available at all hours. The
NURSE-ON-CALL telephone service will be able to guide you if you are concerned.

How much does it cost to visit the GP?

If the practice bulk bills, and you have a Medicare card, there will be no cost to you. If the practice does not bulk bill, costs can vary. The amount you are charged will depend on the practice and length of consultation. If there is a charge, you will be able to
get some of the cost back through Medicare.

Pediatrician – who is it and what does it treat?.

Publication date: 03/23/2022 00:00

A pediatrician is a doctor who treats, prevents diseases and diagnoses children under 18 years of age. From birth, the pediatrician ensures that the child grows and develops according to age norms.

The complexity of the profession lies in the fact that young patients need a special approach so as not to cause fear of doctors in the child. To do this, it is necessary to conduct an examination most gently, while identifying the symptoms of the disease, and choosing an effective treatment.

A pediatrician must have deep professional knowledge and be familiar with medical practice, because children’s complaints, due to their age, are not clearly formulated, it is difficult for them to explain what specifically worries them.

When should I visit a pediatrician?

Routine examination

The first routine examination is carried out at the age of 1 month and is repeated every month during the first year of life. After a year, scheduled examinations are recommended once every three months.

What is included in the examination:

  • Measurement of height, weight, chest and head circumference of the child
  • Examination of the throat, nose, genitals
  • Palpation of the abdomen
  • Listening with a phonendoscope

Pediatrician also available:

  • Gives advice on breastfeeding
  • Introduces the vaccination schedule
  • Prepares individual comprehensive examination programs
  • Gives advice on walking and complementary foods
  • Provides referrals to subspecialists when necessary

It is important to have scheduled check-ups on time to prevent or correct health problems in time. Modern medicine is able to cope with most childhood abnormalities if they are detected early.

Unscheduled examination

Conducted if parents suspect that their child has a physical or mental illness. Parents should be alert to any changes in the behavior of the child.

Self-medication is not recommended for children. Those medicines and methods that are suitable for adults may not only be unsuitable for children, but also be dangerous for them. Therefore, it is necessary to contact a pediatrician as soon as possible in order to avoid complications and severe course of the disease.

When you need to see a pediatrician:

  • Fever
  • Stool disorders
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Runny nose
  • Cough
  • Eye discharge and redness
  • Appearance of rash
  • Discoloration of the skin
  • Pain in any part of the body
  • Anxiety, aggression

In acute conditions such as high fever, fever, severe cough, chicken pox, the pediatrician should be called to the house to avoid the spread of acute viral infections.

There are also situations in which it is worth contacting an ambulance. Every parent should know them. This is:

  • Acute conditions in children under 3 months of age
  • Body temperature above 39 degrees
  • Difficulty breathing, unusual noises and wheezing
  • Seizures
  • Sudden onset of rash with fever
  • Loose stools with blood
  • Persistent vomiting
  • Injuries, fractures, bleeding

What else is the responsibility of a pediatrician?

Now the patient’s record is filled in both electronically and in paper form in order to prevent the loss of the medical history. Parents are also encouraged to keep extracts for particularly important diseases in the home archive.

  • Referral for laboratory tests such as blood, urine, stool, allergy, bakpasevy, smears and other tests
  • Referral for diagnostics: ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MRI
  • Completing the vaccination certificate

Although most vaccinations are given during childhood, a vaccination certificate may be required throughout life.

Any member of the family can open a sick leave to care for a child: mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, older adult brother or sister.

  • Selection of individual vitamin complexes
  • Counseling parents on the prevention of SARS

A pediatrician is the doctor with whom parents meet most often and trust him with the most valuable thing – the health of their child. It is important that this is a competent specialist and a pleasant person who could not only provide qualified assistance, but also support the parent in difficult moments of the child’s illness.

We recommend choosing a pediatrician in advance, paying attention to the qualifications and education of the doctor, his work experience, patient reviews, the clinic where he sees, and its location relative to your home. Make your parenthood easy with ENT-CMV clinics.

Pediatrician – who is it and what does it treat? Everything about the medical specialty of a pediatrician and the diseases diagnosed by him in children at the MEDSI Clinic

A pediatrician is a doctor who assesses the physical and neuropsychic development of children, is engaged in the prevention and treatment of a number of diseases. Such a specialist has knowledge regarding the symptoms of various pathologies, knows the basics of pharmacology, selects the necessary instrumental and laboratory examination methods. Parents of both newborns, and kids who attend kindergarten, and schoolchildren turn to the pediatrician. The help of a doctor may be required both on a planned and emergency basis. We recommend that you make an appointment with specialists immediately after detecting the first signs of any pathologies. This will allow you to start treatment in the early stages of diseases, increase the effectiveness of therapy and increase the chances of a full recovery of the child.

How does a doctor work?

A pediatrician is a specialist who works both directly with his little patient and with his parents.

The main tasks of the doctor include:

  • Collection of anamnesis – information about the child’s condition
  • Inspections
  • Diagnostic assignment
  • Issuance of referrals to narrow specialists

Also, specialists without fail keep the cards of their patients. They indicate the time of admission, complaints, scheduled examinations, medications taken, procedures performed, etc. Parents should carefully monitor the maintenance of the card and not lose it. Also be sure to save all prescriptions and extracts. This will allow you to restore the medical history if the card is lost.

When to see a pediatrician?

A visit to the doctor can be planned and unscheduled.

Scheduled inspections

The first consultation is carried out within a month from the date of discharge from the hospital. This examination is at home. The pediatrician himself comes to his little patient. Further scheduled inspections are carried out monthly.

Doctor:

  • Weighs the baby
  • Measures his height
  • Controls the development of the newborn

The specialist must monitor all the main indicators and, if there are deviations, refer the patient to narrow specialists. The doctor also prescribes vaccinations.

Inspections after a year are carried out in a planned manner 1 time in 3 months. At other times, parents can make an appointment if necessary.

Unscheduled inspections

An appointment with a pediatrician should be made when:

  • Fever
  • Soreness in any part of the body
  • Digestive disorders
  • Cough and runny nose
  • Redness of the eyes
  • Rash

Consultation with a specialist is required if parents think that their child has any deviations in physical or mental development.

Important! You don’t have to go to the clinic! The doctor can be called to the house. This reduces the risk of spreading the infection.

What does a pediatrician treat?

A pediatrician has knowledge and skills in the treatment of a wide range of diseases. If necessary, he refers the patient to a specialist.

The most common diseases include:

  • SARS. This group includes a number of infections that provoke the appearance of a runny nose, cough and other symptoms
  • Bronchitis and pneumonia
  • Whooping cough
  • Scarlet fever
  • Rubella
  • Varicella (“chickenpox”)
  • Acute intestinal infections
  • Worm infestations
  • Pneumococcal and meningococcal infections

Pediatricians also treat allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, urticaria, atopic dermatitis and other diseases.

If necessary, specialists work together with endocrinologists, dermatologists, surgeons, gastroenterologists and other doctors. This allows you to quickly identify the pathology and carry out its adequate treatment in the shortest possible time. If necessary, pediatricians give directions for surgical interventions. Also, specialists monitor the condition of patients after surgery, throughout the rehabilitation period.

What is included in pediatric services

Doctors collect anamnesis, visual examination of the patient, general therapeutic palpation, tapping (percussion), measurement of body temperature, weight and height.

Children’s doctors:

  • Give advice on breastfeeding, complementary feeding and newborn care
  • Explain to parents how to reduce the frequency of colds
  • Help to reduce the amount of drugs by additionally prescribing physiotherapy, vitamin complexes and dietary supplements
  • Make up individual programs for a comprehensive examination, taking into account the age of the patient and his individual characteristics
  • Issue conclusions about the health group based on examination and recommendations issued by narrow specialists
  • Develop an individual vaccination schedule
  • Issue referrals for emergency vaccinations
  • Issue certificates, sick leaves for parents, exemptions from physical education classes in kindergarten or school

You can also get a package of pediatric services if you use one of the comprehensive programs.

Such programs are developed by private clinics, taking into account all applicable standards and requirements, and include:

  • Inspections
  • Surveys
  • Advice on any emerging issues
  • Vaccination, etc.

  • Do I feel comfortable asking questions?

Many after-hours GP services are bulk billed. When you call an after-hours service, ask the operator for an explanation of any fees that may be charged for the appointment.

Your regular GP will be sent a report about the visit the next day.

Preschool Teacher – Ms. Alyson

Education: Bachelors Degree in Childhood Education with a minor/concentration in English Language Arts from The College of Saint Rose. In January 2022 I am furthering my education by beginning my coursework online for my Graduate Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  I have worked in Early Childhood for roughly four years altogether. Throughout college I worked in a UPK/EPK setting for Albany City CSD. This opportunity taught me a lot, it familiarized me with the curriculum and the field itself.

What Alyson likes about being a teacher is: “What I love about being a teacher is that it’s a job that continuously challenges you. Each child is different and what works for one, may not work for another child. You are responsible for brainstorming, researching, and trying different methods all of the time. It’s an occupation that forces you to grow and go outside of your comfort zone.

Children are the brightest lights; they are unapologetically themselves, they are silly, they

say whatever is on their mind, their way of thinking is curious and creative, and they are in a stage

that just amazes me every single day. Spending your day surrounded by them, I am not sure

who wouldn’t love their job! Teaching also gives you the added bonus of watching them form

friendships, find themselves, learn, grow, and explore, which truly makes it the most rewarding job

                                                   in the world.

Preschool Teacher: Ms. Alissa

She has worked at a daycare center for four years and then worked as a substitute teacher for about a year.

What Alissa likes about being a teacher is:  that it brings her so much joy. She loves interacting with children and watching/ listening to how they play. Young children have the most creative imaginations, and it is intriguing to hear the things that they come up with when playing with both adults and peers. Her favorite thing about being a teacher is seeing a child make gains or master a skill they have been working on. It is beyond amazing how children absorb knowledge and put it to use in their own way.

Preschool Teacher: Ms. Emily

Education:  Emily has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2) and a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education (Birth-Grade 6).  She has 10 years of formal teaching experience in the early childhood field, varying in ages 18 months to 12 years old, along with experience as an Interim/Assistant Director.

What Emily likes about being a teacher is:  “Although each day is structured as far as routines, my favorite parts are the ones that are not anticipated on our lesson plans. The spontaneous moments and things that the children say may be brief, but those are what leave the biggest impressions in my heart that turn into lifelong memories. Seeing the children’s progress throughout an entire school year is astounding, but specifically, seeing the children’s personalities develop and their social-emotional growth is what reminds me how early childhood education can create a foundation for the future. The children form such strong friendships and bonds with one another as well as with their teaching team that showcase how genuine and nurturing children innately are. As the world we live in is full of unexpected events and uncertainty,                                                        children are so resilient, and their daily interactions are the reminders that show us that a little bit of                                                                kindness goes a long way.”

Preschool Teacher: Ms. Kaitlyn

Education:  Kaitlyn has an associate in Early Childhood Education and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Special Education. I have been working in Early Childhood Education for 12 years now. I have held many positions as my career has developed, including Teacher’s Assistant, Lead Teacher, and Director of a Montessori program.

What Kaitlyn likes about being a teacher is:  Kaitlyn’s favorite part about being a teacher is “Watching the children grow and show progress in their goals right in front of you. It’s exciting to see them light up and glow when they discover something new or are working on an activity that they love.

Preschool Teacher: Ms. Rachel

Education: Rachel has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Rose where she majored in Early Childhood Education. She also has a Master’s Degree completed at the College of Saint Rose, where Rachel majored in Curriculum and Instruction. She has been involved in the field of Early Childhood Education for over 5 years now and has worked in her current position as a lead UPK teacher for almost a year.

What Rachel likes about being a teacher:  Rachel shared, “My favorite part about being a teacher is being able to see life through the eyes of my students. They each bring a new, and oftentimes, positive outlook on life that makes even the worst days a little bit brighter. I love knowing that not only am I able to have a positive influence on each of their lives but that they also have such a large and wonderful impact on my life every day.”

seeing the growth in students, families and staff.  I love the dynamic

with our students in a developmentally appropriate and authentic learning

Level 1 / Accommodation types

  • What is included in the tour of France
  • Classification of hotels in France
  • Administrative districts of Paris
  • Accommodation types

SECTION #4

Types of accommodation

SingleRoom (SGL) is a single room.
DoubleRoom (DBL) – a double room usually with one double bed. If you want separate beds, you must check “Twin Room” (TWN).
Triple Room (TPL) – triple room. As a rule, this is a standard double room, in which a bed or chair-bed is added.
Family Room – family room: larger than the standard room. Suitable for a family with two or three children. Not all hotels have such rooms, usually they are few and need to be confirmed separately.

Please , be sure to specify in the order the type of accommodation , specify the type of double room: TWIN or DBL.

Children go through a separate calculation grid, depending on age, accommodation or their number.
For example, two children with two parents will most likely have to be placed in two double rooms. A quadruple or family room is a rarity in France.

Depending on the purpose of the trip, there are several types of tours:

  • economy tours – tours with a minimum set of services: for example, flight and hotel, or flight, hotel and transfer;
  • sightseeing tours – tours that provide for an excursion program;
  • business and corporate – tours that include exhibitions, seminars, incentive trips;
  • health;
  • educational;
  • beach;
  • shopping tours;
  • event tours – tours related to any event: New Year, Christmas, holidays, football matches, etc. ;
  • children’s tours.

Continuing the story about group tours, we want to note that Russian Express offers a wide range of economy options and sightseeing tours. If everything is clear enough with economy options, there are only two of them: economical (only flight and hotel) and transfer (flight, hotel and transfers), then I would like to dwell on excursion packages in more detail.

Regardless of the age of the patient – whether it is a child or an adult, in the first time after the poisoning, it is necessary to completely exclude from the diet any foods that can provoke fermentation and putrefaction during the digestion process.

Alissa

Education:  Alissa graduated from The College of Saint Rose in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education with a concentration in English.

I love knowing that not only am I able to have a positive influence on each of their lives but that they also have such a large and wonderful impact on my life every day.”

with our students in a developmentally appropriate and authentic learning

  • economy tours – tours with a minimum set of services: for example, flight and hotel, or flight, hotel and transfer;
  • sightseeing tours – tours that provide for an excursion program;
  • business and corporate – tours that include exhibitions, seminars, incentive trips;
  • health;
  • educational;
  • beach;
  • shopping tours;
  • event tours – tours related to any event: New Year, Christmas, holidays, football matches, etc. ;

These are fresh vegetables and fruits, products containing yeast, brown bread. You should start eating first with cereal broths, for example, rice without the addition of salt and sugar, and then you can switch to porridge-slurry, which should be boiled for a long time and in plenty of water.

Oatmeal porridge must be on the menu of a person recovering from poisoning. It must be eaten 1-2 times a day, at least 1-2 tablespoons.

All food that will enter the body in the first 2-3 days should be chopped, boiled or steamed, it should not be hot or very cold. For an adult, the daily calorie content in the early days can be 1200-1500 kcal, but then it should be increased to 2000 kcal per day. The number of meals – 5-6 times a day, preferably at the same time.

It is necessary to drink plenty of fluids, you can strained cranberry fruit drinks and dried fruit compotes, which should contain dried apricots and prunes containing sodium, magnesium and potassium, as well as other microelements that were washed out of the body during poisoning. At least 2-3 times a day you need to drink a cup of green tea, you can with lemon.

Fatty, smoked, spicy and salty after severe poisoning, you can start eating no earlier than 2-3 months later.

    Coca Cola 600

My son had been wanting to go to a Nascar Cup race and this is where he wanted to go, specifically to the Coca Cola 600.
The race was postponed on Sunday due to rain but we were welcome back for the Xfinity and the Cup race on Memorial Day Monday. The Memorial Day events were great during the prerace show as well as the Star Spangled Banner performed by Lance Corporal Elizabeth Marino, USMC.
My son and I had a really great time!

    Awesome Little Aquarium!!

    2 adults, 2 children, ages 3.5 and 5.5

    Pros:
    Almost everything!
    Walk through tank
    Very clean
    Nice staff
    Easy to navigate
    Variety of animals
Easy for any age/height to view independently
Visual display and presentation is lovely
    Variety of tanks

    Cons:
Maybe a bit expensive? But compared to other aquariums it’s really not bad, and for a “mall aquarium” it is very impressive
Kind of short, if you don’t take time to enjoy it.
Could use a few more hands on/informative exhibits/displays
Hard for little ones to reach animals in the touch tank – a stool would help!
COVID restrictions – playplace closed 🙁 But thank you for not requiring masks!

    First Visit

My family and I enjoyed visiting for our first time! There’s so much more to do besides the waterpark. I enjoyed the idea of arriving and having everything I need at the lodge. The staff was wonderful! Everyone was so attentive and really went out their way. Alma made check in super easy! Kayona was extremely helpful our first night at dinner. I wish I could remember his name at the shack place by pool. I called him (Mr Nachos) he was so helpful and made in my opinion the best nachos! My only con is the elevators! Need more elevators or faster elevators. Maybe because we went during spring break and that’s a popular time to visit; not sure. At some point the elevators took forever it seemed. Nice big rooms. Very clean and the ac worked AMAZING! The pictures online does no justice. We had the standard room and had Plenty of space.
The food was great. My family and I enjoyed all restaurants on site. My favorite place to stop was the sweet shop for fudge. Breakfast was delicious!

    Decent venue

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. This place was huge and very clean. We got to see lots of vendors while being decently spaced among everyone else. We visited from out of state so doubt we’ll ever be back but it was one of the better places we’ve visited for a hosted event.

One of the better Malls in Charlotte area

Concord Mills shopping centre seems to have survived the pandemic far better than other local Malls with only T K Max being a casualty of note?

Ralph Lauren seem to think they on 5th avenue NYC or Bond Street in London with their pricing, been a twenty year purchaser but no more in the USA with prices 40% cheaper in the UK outlets.

Loads of parking, great Cinema, sealife centre and food court what more could you need.

For travellers from abroad , shop around thanksgiving for the best deals.

Fun, interactive, but must read guidebook and listen to clues

Staying at the great wolf lodge and this was a great activity outside of the Waterpark. You only need one wand even if you have more than one kid. Our kids are 7 and 9 and we did not know this and bought two which in total cost about $75. At first it was frustrating but I would strongly suggest that you must read guidebook and listen to clues. This will really help. You can also ask others to give you hints. We looked liked fools shaking our wands, all you need to do is point it at the right spot. Good luck and have fun!

Good fun, Good food, and a Good time at Dave n Busters

This is a great place to visit on the weekend if you want to have some fun. There’s games, food, and prizes for all ages and it gives an arcade like experience. At times the place may be packed and you will have to wait to participate in certain activities although every game is fun so if one spot is filled you can easily move to another one and enjoy yourself. The food is great, any game you decide to play is enjoyable, and Dave n Busters provides a clean, fun place to enjoy yourself with friends or family. When you leave you will feel like your money was well spent and everyone will have smiles on their faces. If you want a fun, safe, and overall entertaining environment to not only bring your best friends but spend quality time with family and people you love without breaking your pockets, Dave n Busters is the place to be.

Insider knowledge and access by our tour guide.

Pat, our tour guide, was amazing. He was on pit crews for many years and now works with a vendor for the teams. This gives him great knowledge of everything and he knew people at all the garages. This gave us access and information that we would not have gotten by visiting the garages on our own. Patrick got us access to pit crew practices which was really cool. He also gets you a special discount at all the garage nascar gear shops. That saved us a fair amount too. We did the 6 shop tour and I can’t recommend it and Patrick more. My family really had a great time.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway should definitely be on the list of places to take your kids. This famous superspeedway and other tracks are massive and it’s an impressive place to not just visit but to also tour.

They also offer the Fast Pass Tour where you can take your personal care around the Charlotte Motor Speedway, with your tour guide leading you through your radio! This tour is $50.00 per car.

The NASCAR Racing Experience, the Richard Petty Driving Experience, and the Mario Andretti Racing Experience are just some of the options available if you’re looking for a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Kidding Around age recommendation: 5 and older for tours

ZMAX Dragway

ZMAX Dragway

If you get an opportunity to visit ZMAX Dragway for an NHRA national event, make sure you take it! Every ticket is a pit pass so you can watch from your seats, get closer to the action hanging out with other fans along the fence, or hang back in the pits and watch crews work on their cars. We visited in September 2022 for the Carolina Nationals and had a blast! when you go, you’ll get a chance to see cars from a huge variety of classes each with its own unique body types, fuel, and speeds.

Kids 12 and under get in FREE!

In the pits at ZMAX Dragway

Your next opportunity to see a national event at ZMAX is April 2023 for 4 Wide Nationals when all 4 lanes of the dragway will be used in the racing simultaneously.

Reed Gold Mine

Learn about the first gold ever discovered in the United States. It was right in Cabarrus County in 1799. Today you can visit the site, explore the mine that operated here and learn about gold mining history. You can also try panning for gold from the same creek where that first gold was discovered! We loved our visit to Reed Gold Mine.

Reed Gold Mine
9621 Reed Mine Road
Midland, NC

This lodge includes a full indoor waterpark (and outdoor pool for the warmer seasons), daily programming, multiple dining options, and other attractions.

One of the benefits that I loved about our room was that the couch was a pull-out bed in a separate sitting area giving us extra room to spread out at night. You can also reserve special rooms that have bunk beds for the kids.

Day Passes at Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge offers day passes for families that want to visit for a day. However, lodging is typically a better deal, especially if you look for reduced rates via the Great Wolf Lodge emails or online deals sites such as Groupon.

Waterpark at Great Wolf Lodge

The waterpark is extensive and includes multiple waterslides, a small children’s wading area, a children’s water playground, a wave pool, and more. Waterpark admission is included in your stay.

Magiquest (or Compass Quest & Shadow Quest)

We also purchased a Magiquest game for our children. To play Magiquest, you must purchase a wand and game activation. Once your wand is activated, you can use it to complete quests and adventures around the lodge. The game is quite a bit of fun for kids and is really active.

Other Things to Do at Great Wolf Lodge

In addition to the waterpark and Magiquest, the lodge has daily programming including a bedtime story each night, dance party, laser tag, a ropes course, mini-golf, and much more. The attractions other than the daily programming and waterpark are all offered for additional fees. You can purchase special bundle passes to save money.

Visiting in the winter? Read our review of Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge.

Even if you are just passing through the area, Concord Mills is a fun place to visit in Concord. This massive mall has 200 stores, a dining pavilion with 14 restaurants, and attractions such as SEA LIFE (see below), a movie theatre, Dave & Busters, and The Speedpark (see below).

Stores that children might enjoy in particular at Concord Mill are The Disney Store, the Lionel Retail Store (see below), the LEGO store, and Bass Pro Shop.

SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord

SEA LIFE Charlotte-Concord Aquarium

SEA LIFE Aquarium is adjacent to Concord Mills and offers 10 interactive zones to explore.

While this aquarium is smaller than some of the other aquariums in the area, it still offers plenty to explore. Plan on 45 minutes to an hour for your visit. At the end, there is a play space (and fortunately plenty of parent seating) where smaller kids can get some energy out.

Be sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time online starting at $17.99 to $21.99 depending on the day you plan to go. Purchasing online will secure your entry spot in case they are crowded.

The aquarium has a passport for the kids where they can get a stamp at each station. If they get all the stamps, they get a small prize from the gift shop. My kids really loved looking for the passport stations.

Kidding Around age recommendation: All ages. This aquarium might be a particularly good choice for smaller children as the length is manageable.

The Speedpark

The Speedpark

The Speedpark is located directly outside the Concord Mills mall. You can purchase an unlimited wristband that will allow you unlimited activities for the entire day. Unlike many wristbands too, this one actually includes all the activities from the bungee jumping to the multiple go-kart tracks.

The Speedpark offers:

  • 4 Go-Karting Tracks (including a 2-seater track and junior track)
  • 18-Hole Mini-Golf
  • 110 Ft. Fun Slide (you slide down on a burlap sack)
  • Bungee Jump
  • 8 Story Spider Climb (my kids loved this)

The Lionel Retail Store at Concord Mills

The Lionel Retail Store is the perfect addition to the Concord Mills Mall for train enthusiasts, and it’s more than just a store as it has several model train displays. In the store, collectors will find both model trains and NASCAR collectibles.

The Escape Game at Concord Mills

Test your family’s puzzle-solving skills at The Escape Game at Concord Mills. With 5 rooms to pick from, your family is sure to find an escape room challenge they’d like to take on.

Our family with one adult, and 3 kids ages 10-13, played “Playground” and had a blast.

You can book in advance at The Escape Game Concord Website.

The Percantile & Creamery

This ice cream/coffee shop located near Concord Mills doesn’t only just sell fresh cups of coffee but also a premium ice cream brand. For families with children, the coffee shop also has a small play area with toys and books.

Concord, NC

iFLY

At iFLY you can fly (like really fly) in a wind tunnel.

iFLY is an indoor skydiving simulator where you enter a wind tunnel that is strong enough to allow you to float on the air. In fact, experienced flyers can even perform tricks such as flips.

Read our full review including information on taking your kids to iFLY.

7840 Lyles Lane NW
Concord, NC

Hendrick Motorsports Museum and Team Store

This free museum includes race cars and other memorabilia that celebrate the history of Hendrick Motorsports. Our children in particular enjoyed watching a display that showed how the body of the car could be lifted on and off. It’s a small museum, but it’s free and allows you to see a number of race cars up close.

4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd.
Charlotte, NC 28262

K1 Speed Indoor Karting

The K1 Speed Indoor Karting in Concord has a super track which is the longest track of any K1 Speed location. This location offers electric go-karting which means that the go-karts can be turned on and off quickly by the staff making it a safer place to kart.

We were impressed by how fast the go-karts could drive and the attention to safety by the staff. Everyone wears helmets and there was a full safety presentation by the staff before karting began. Driving rules were enforced on the track and feedback was offered to help drivers not run into each other or the track.

One fun unique feature was that rather than the drivers racing each other to the finish, they raced by time. Each driver was given a printout of their lap times and driving times after they drove so that they could see their scores.

Both adult and junior race karts are available, though junior racing is not open at all times.

Village Green Park in Kannapolis, NC

Not far from the cute walkable downtown of Kannapolis, NC is Village Green Park. Not only does this park have multiple playgrounds and multiple picnic shelters plus paved walking paths, but you’ll also find a splash pad open seasonally, a real running miniature train to ride, and a beautiful double-decker carousel.

The carousel, made in Italy, is the only double-decker carousel in the state of North Carolina. It has 1800 lights, plays that classic old carousel music, and features hand-painted Venetian murals. Tickets are only $1.50 to ride the carousel, and also $1. 50 to ride the train.

For the holidays, find a huge Celebration of Lights at the park. It’s totally FREE to walk through the lights, or you can reserve a ticket on the train and view the lights as you ride.

Also in Kannapolis, NC:

  • See a movie at the historic Gem Theater

Alissa

Education:  Alissa graduated from The College of Saint Rose in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education with a concentration in English.

  • economy tours – tours with a minimum set of services: for example, flight and hotel, or flight, hotel and transfer;
  • sightseeing tours – tours that provide for an excursion program;
  • business and corporate – tours that include exhibitions, seminars, incentive trips;
  • health;
  • educational;
  • beach;
  • shopping tours;
  • event tours – tours related to any event: New Year, Christmas, holidays, football matches, etc. ;

200 Funny Questions to Ask Friends, Dates, or Crushes

Whether you’re on a first date with a promising Hinge match, meeting a new friend-crush for brunch, or hanging out as usual with your ride or die besties, sometimes we could all use a handy conversation starter to fill an awkward silence or enhance the vibes. And while you could get deep, sometimes it’s better to keep things on the lighter side. That, friends, is where this extensive list of funny questions to ask friends/dates/literally whoever you want might come in handy.

But don’t be fooled. While these questions are mostly lighthearted (and pretty hilarious, if we do say so ourselves), trading funny Qs can be as much of a bonding experience as sharing deeper or more intimate questions. In fact, according to Damona Hoffman, host of the Dates & Mates podcast, humor is one of the best ways to connect with people and ease tension, whether that means breaking the ice on a slightly awkward first date, or deepening your bond with friends and loved ones.

That doesn’t mean you have to have a tight-ten standup routine memorized before every first date or friend hang, though. According to dating coach Alexis Germany, the key to being funny is, uh, not trying too hard. Trust your own sense of humor—whether you like puns, dad jokes, or topical quips about reality TV shows—and lean into it. Just not, like too hard, ya know?

If you find yourself drawing a blank, however, tossing out one of these fun and open-ended questions is sure to get the convo started and/or assist in the event of any awkward silences that may be in need of filling. Obviously, context matters. Some of these questions are going to be better for close friends than they are crushes or coworkers, so make sure you run a vibe check before you, say, try one of the slightly more risqué options on this list at your next work happy hour. Otherwise, prepare to delight and entertain your friends, crushes, random strangers on the street, etc. with some clever inquiries. You’re welcome.

Interview puzzle questions with answers. Part 1 — Work.ua

Candidates for vacancies are given logical tasks to assess their analytical skills. Anyone can face such questions. But even if this does not happen to you, it will be simply interesting to study them for preparation.

Candidates who encounter puzzles during the interview should not panic and get lost. As a rule, in most cases it is enough to show the course of your thoughts and ways to solve the problem. It may well be that the problem does not have a correct solution or an unambiguous answer. In no case should you say “I don’t know” or “I find it difficult to answer”, just think out loud.

So that you know what to be prepared for and not get confused, Work.ua has collected the most popular puzzle questions and prepared answers and recommendations for them. Who knows, maybe you will come across exactly these tasks.

All of these puzzles can be asked when interviewing for a php programmer job.

Manholes

This is perhaps the most common question among all puzzles.

Question: Why are manholes round?

Answer: There are several options. Since the diameter of the circle is the same, no matter how you twist it, the round hatch cannot fall into the well. A square, for example, has a diagonal larger than its sides, so the lid could fall off. You can also answer that round hatches are easier to transport and move.

Light bulbs

Question: There are 3 light bulbs in a closed room and 3 switches in the corridor. What is the minimum door opening required to determine which switch belongs to which bulb?

Answer: For one discovery. We turn on 2 switches at the same time, after a while we turn off the second one. We go into the room: one of the bulbs remains on – this is the first switch, then we feel the remaining bulbs – the warm one will be the second switch, and the cold one, respectively, the third.

Cake

Question: How to divide a cake into 8 equal parts using three cuts?

Answer: First you need to make 2 cross-cuts, dividing the cake into 4 equal parts. Then cut the cake horizontally in half. So what if the pieces have become low, but you have 8 equal parts. You can also, after the first two cuts, put the pieces on top of each other and halve them in one cut.

Dead man and match

Question: A dead man is found in the field with a match in his hands, no traces. What did he die of and under what circumstances?

Answer: A man died from a fall from an airplane that began to lose altitude, and an accident was inevitable. One parachute was not enough for all the passengers and they drew lots. He got a short match, and he was forced to jump without a parachute.

Bus and balls

Question: How many tennis balls will fit on the bus?

Answer: The recruiter himself does not know the exact correct answer, since it is not specified what the balls and the bus are – their sizes are not known, and no one has checked this thoroughly. Therefore, the course of your thoughts is important here, you can only guess. Name the approximate length, width and height of the bus, the dimensions of one ball. Calculate the volume of the bus and the ball – this way you will find out how many balls will fit in an empty bus. Decrease approximately this value, taking into account the seats and other details of the bus, make allowance for the fact that the balls are not square and give an answer. In this case, the process of finding an answer is more important than the answer itself. The options for the question can be different: footballs – footballs, instead of a bus – a room, etc.

Tablets

Question: The doctor gave the patient 4 tablets of two types – 2 tablets of each, which cannot be distinguished by appearance. Tablets should be drunk in two doses: in the morning, one tablet of each type and in the same evening. If you violate the dosage or do not take the pills, the patient will die. So it turned out that the pills were mixed. How to get treatment and survive?

Answer: Of course, you can say that it’s better to go to the doctor and ask for more, after all, it’s a matter of life and death.

Alissa

  • economy tours – tours with a minimum set of services: for example, flight and hotel, or flight, hotel and transfer;
  • sightseeing tours – tours that provide for an excursion program;
  • business and corporate – tours that include exhibitions, seminars, incentive trips;
  • health;
  • educational;
  • beach;
  • shopping tours;
  • event tours – tours related to any event: New Year, Christmas, holidays, football matches, etc. ;
