First things first: where is Columbus, Ohio? Columbus sits in the center of state. It is within one day’s drive of 60 percent of the United States and at the intersection of major north-south and east-west highways in the country. This makes Columbus easily accessible, which is why the city hosts so many events and conferences introducing visitors to the exciting city in the heart of Ohio.
Things to Do in Downtown Columbus
Ohio Statehouse
You might want to start your time in Columbus by visiting some of the top downtown attractions. The heart of the city intersects at Broad Street and High Street at Ohio Statehouse , where you can take a free tour or just walk around the grounds of Capital Square.
Walk across the street for a bite to eat at Peanut Shop, which has been downtown for over 83 years. The store serves hot roasted nuts every day from the original peanut roaster to regulars who yell “that’s hot” when they walk in the door.
Make your way to the bridge that crosses the Scioto River and take in the city skyline as you head to the National Veterans Museum and Memorial where you can spend hours looking at the personal perspectives of men and women military service.
Across the street is the Center for Science and Industry (COSI), which is a fun visit for families and gives kids a hands-on education in science and technology.
For something really unique during your visit, you can go to Green Lawn Cemetery which is one of the oldest cemeteries in Ohio. It is a popular spot for photographers, historians and birders to catch a glimpse of rare species that stop in the trees along the main migration route.

Getting to downtown Columbus

So many downtown activities and attractions are accessible on foot, but if you don’t feel like logging miles on a pedometer, Columbus has some unique ways movement around the city. You can take a tour with Columbus City Adventures, to catch highlights on the shuttle and learn about the city’s history and main attractions.
You can take bus COTA and go anywhere in the city. If you want to stay in close proximity to the city center, you can use the free CBUS Downtown Circulator from COTA, which runs from the short north through downtown to the brewery area and back every 10-15 minutes seven days a week.
If you want a little more time for sports and transportation, you can rent a bike at one of the 46 stations CoGo Bike in the city center and ride bike to your destination. You can also jump on the Lime Scooter and walk around the city center. All you have to do is download the app, pay about $1 to unlock the scooter, and about $0.15 per minute to use it.

Classes are conveniently scheduled online or during evening and weekend hours to meet the needs of working adults, and are all in accordance with the Maryland State Department of Education (Office of Child Care) credentialing standards.
The courses listed below satisfy MSDE requirements:

Including all Children and the ADA (3 Hours)
Breastfeeding Support (3 hours) Please note this course is only a requirement if you have children 3 and under in your day care center.
Childcare Directors MUST complete the additional Child Care Administration course to become licensed.
Please note these noncredit courses are offered through a third-party vendor and, therefore, are ineligible for the Senior Citizen tuition waiver

45 hours Overview of major concepts, theories and research related to the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of the child from birth through age 12. Satisfi es the child development portion of the MSDE requirement for child care teachers and directors and aligns with proposed Maryland Staff Credential Levels 2-4.
9 hours Introduces basic concepts of developing strong communication skills when working in a child care center. Topics include speaking, writing, interpersonal communication strategies, and critical reading techniques, with a focus on communication with parents and co-workers, and communication issues within a typical child care day.
45 hours Students will gain the skills necessary to work with infants and build communication skills to use with parents, co-workers and the public. Topics include growth and development, curriculum planning, goal setting, selection of ageappropriate materials, and methods for infants and toddlers from birth to age 3.
45 hours In this course basic concepts of curriculum planning and implementation for children 3-5 years old are introduced. Topics include teaching strategies, environment design, and implementation of best practices in early childhood education. Prepares students for a position in a child care center or preschool. This course aligns with proposed Maryland Staff Credential Levels 2-4.
45 hours Students will gain the skills necessary to work in school-age child care programs. Topics include curriculum planning, age-appropriate materials and methods for children ages 6-13. This certifi cation course satisfi es half of the MSDE requirement of 90 hours of child care training for teachers, directors and coordinators working with school-age children.
3 hours Provides essential information that every child care and education professional needs to know about the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Learn inclusionary best practices, strategies and resources for implementing an early childhood or school age environment that is inclusive to all children and families. This Credential Boosters course aligns with the Maryland Staff Credential (proposed) levels 2, 3, 4.
3 hours Learn to make your program breastfeedingfriendly for families. Satisfi es the MSDE breastfeeding support requirement for child care professionals. Provides an overview of the state regulation, guidelines and resources to support the practice of breastfeeding and provides related resources for families within a child care program.
45 hours Prepares prospective directors to administer and manage a child care center. Topics include state requirements and compliance standards for physical facilities, licensing, insurance, and staffing child care programs, including budget and bookkeeping, personnel selection, training and managing staff, food services, equipment, materials, and community involvement.
24 hours Satisfi es state training requirements to start and operate a home-based child care business. Includes four hours of training in each of the state-approved Core of Knowledge areas: Child Development, Curriculum, Health, Safety & Nutrition, Special Needs, Professionalism, and Community.
2 hours Learn about SIDS, which can affect apparently healthy infants under 1 year of age. This is an online course that you complete at your own pace, with instructor guidance, and takes approximately two hours to complete (completion times may vary.) Include your email address on your registration to receive log-in instructions. You may register and begin this course anytime between the fi rst and last class date.

The large 5800 sq. ft. building was designed specifically for the care and teaching of young children. Each classroom is spacious and divided into clear individual learning centers holding a wide variety of materials. Every classroom has its own kitchenette area and is equipped with restrooms scaled to the size for the age group. The building is also equipped with an emergency monitoring system that is wired for fire and other emergency services. Exits are available out of every classroom directly to the large three acre playground. The outside environment has wide open areas of grass for ball play, mulch for climbing, and a pavilion for sun shelter.
Your child’s safety is a primary concern and as a result we have equipped the building with a video monitoring system including a front entry-video camera. Each classroom has a monitor displaying the front entrance and staff can release the locking mechanism from any classroom to allow authorized individuals to enter.
The professional teaching staff has a wealth of experience. We emphasize the importance of quality care and are adamant about having low adult-to-child ratios and maintaining small group sizes. All programing is developmentally appropriate and focuses on the Early Learning Content Standards.
We had an abundant of exciting activities through out the year that enhance our programs and tie in community involvement. To name a few of our annual visitors are Jungle Terry, the local fire department, paramedics. dental hygienists, and farmers. We recently purchased an activity bus making it possible for our school age group to travel to places such as Deer Park, Penentary Animal Reserve, museums, and the library program.

For John and Lisa Hammer, residents of the small town of East Palestine in the US state of Ohio, normal life is over 3 February at 20:55. At that moment, a train loaded with toxic chemicals derailed just a few meters from the building where their thriving garbage company was located.

The Hammers have been developing their business for 18 years, going from five clients to more than seven thousand.
“It completely ruined our lives,” John tells the BBC, barely holding back tears. We talk to him in the parking lot outside his company office, where the smell of chemicals still hangs in the air after the crash.
“I’ve already decided to get out of here,” he adds. “We’re moving. We can’t do this anymore.”
After a train derailment, rescue services had to release vinyl chloride, a colorless, toxic gas, from five tanks. Otherwise, they could explode.

John’s eyes are red and swollen – he believes chemicals released into the air after the crash in East Palestine are to blame.
But the couple told the BBC that they suffered even more psychologically.
“I can’t sleep at all. I’ve been to the doctor twice now, now I’m taking a sedative,” says John Hammer. “It’s ten times worse than just losing your livelihood. We built this business from the very beginning. ”
Just like her husband, Lisa Hammer stays up all night thinking about what will happen to the company, her ten employees – and the whole city where she has spent 20 years of her life.

A million babies a year are born dead due to polluted air, scientists say – they are now also planning to leave East Palestine.
“I’m scared for the people who live here,” she says. “I don’t know anyone who can sleep well now, because literally everything is at stake. Business, health, and the health of friends.”
As we climb a mountain of rubbish that rises not far from the burnt wreckage of wagons, Hammer compares the train accident here to the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

He’s not the only one who thinks so. In the two days we spent in East Palestine, several locals told the BBC that they saw the train derailment as a critical moment in the city’s history. For the foreseeable future at least, their lives will be defined by what happened before and after this catastrophe.
Federal and local officials advise residents not to drink tap water, but to buy bottled water. Authorities have said it’s safe to return to the city within days of the crash, but environmental experts aren’t sure the advice can be trusted.
Substances released into the atmosphere after the crash (vinyl chloride and butyl acrylate) are hazardous to health and in sufficient concentration can cause various complications – from nausea to cancer.
“For our city, it’s Pearl Harbor, or 9/11. This will always be remembered,” says local café owner Ben Ratner.
In the case of Ratner, what happened led to a “curious combination” of experiences and sensations. Now he visibly shudders every time he hears the sound of a passing train, although he had not noticed such things before. And he adds that now the trains seem to him louder and more annoying than in the past.

He says that his friends in East Palestine start to panic about everything and remain constantly on their guard – feelings he compares to post-traumatic stress disorder .
“It’s time for us to think about the long-term consequences for the psyche and emotional state of people,” says Ratner. “People have become worried when trains pass nearby, when their children go outside, when they let dogs out – and they accidentally get drunk on contaminated water. It’s all very serious.”
According to him, local children only recently survived the Covid-19 pandemic, and now their lives have been turned upside down due to another trauma. “This could go on for generations,” he says. “It’s not just gas or clouds of chemicals.”
Johns Hopkins University professor Kiv Nachman told the BBC that the substances released into the atmosphere after the crash could significantly damage people’s health.
“There is very little information about how people came into contact with these chemicals – through air, drinking water or soil,” says the expert.
US Environmental Protection Agency chief Michael Regan visited eastern Palestine on Thursday to see firsthand how the rescue operation is progressing, meet with local officials – and reassure residents that the government is doing everything possible for them.
“We see you, hear you and understand why you are worried,” he said.
The agency claims that dangerous concentrations of toxic substances have not been recorded in the atmosphere, and experts have checked the air in hundreds of residential buildings.
In addition, both Ohio Senators JD Vance and Sherrod Brown sent messages of support to the city’s residents. Gov. Mike DeWine has asked the federal government for help.
Representatives of local water networks admitted that the Ohio River was polluted, but they say that the drinking water supply system was not affected.

The head of Norfolk Southern, which owned the crashed train, understands that people are tired of what is happening, afraid of the consequences, they “have a lot of unanswered questions.”

Campy colorful fairytale story about friendship
I’ve never read the books this was based on so I cannot comment if it’s faithful or accurate. . I tuned in because I saw Cate, Charlize, and Laurence in the casting. It wasn’t a masterpiece but it did deliver a good light hearted fantasy story.
The overall vibe of the movie reminded me of these children’s books I’ve read as a kid with bright colorful pictures that tell a straightforward adventure story with a simple message at the end. It’s predictable and no gritty plot twists which might be a downside for some but I wasn’t expecting that to begin with. It’s just light and fun, perhaps also touching in some scenes.
I love that it’s sharp and saturated and not dull like what we normally get currently, especially during night scenes. Here you can clearly see everything. They really nailed the aesthetic of fairytale. The costumes as well!
The CGI and action sequences are doable enough. The music choices hit and miss. As for the actors, I like them enough. Charlize and Kerry were such fun contrasts of each other. Laurence Sophia Anne Caruso I think really nailed her character. She has this very Disney princess vibe to her even her voice. Sofia Wylie also did great but I can’t quite see her as a gloomy character she’s supposed to be portraying?
Overall I find it quite campy to the point of cheesy drama but I liked it anyway coz to me it fits the the vibe and theme of the story. It’s giving similar to Enchanted or Ella Enchanted. I also liked that the focus was their friendship. I would’ve rated this movie higher if they made it as a series to really flesh out the characters of more characters… but alas.

Signs of a good school. How to choose?

Parents worry about how to enroll their child in school long before the first of September. Buying a residence permit to determine the child in the best gymnasium, discussions, comparisons, complaints, praises, studying forums and publics … Is there a universal strategy here?
Of course, it is up to you to decide where to place your child. But we have compiled a few recommendations that – maybe! – will help you at least a little. Let’s get started!
Dependence of quality on quantity
According to analysts, schools lack about six million places, and the situation will only get worse in the future. There are few schools, many students. By 2020, there will be about 19 million schoolchildren, and this despite the fact that back in 2014 there were 13 million of them. What does it depend on? We’ll talk about this.
1. Curriculum
Make sure the curriculum is right for your child! Lyceums, gymnasiums and secondary schools implement all kinds of experimental programs, develop author’s and in-school training systems for every taste. Learn more about them, read about the advantages and disadvantages. And remember that the demand for the same languages does not mean that they will suit your child. Maybe he gravitates towards the natural sciences? Or to creative disciplines? In such a situation, forcing a child to learn languages will only be a waste of time and resources.
2. The school as it is
Take a walk around the school and its surroundings, have lunch in the canteen, chat with the janitor or security guards. Do not judge by the facade, it is better to focus on the inner content. The school must be clean, well maintained and 100% equipped with everything you need. Pay attention to even seemingly insignificant things: bathrooms, classrooms, locker rooms. Feel free to visit several educational institutions on Open Day to compare them and form your own opinion.
It’s a good sign if children stay on school grounds after school to play, socialize and socialize. And it’s good if the school territory is equipped for this.
3. Prestige is not everything
Getting into some schools is very difficult – they are considered elite, prestigious, giving the best education. Naturally, parents tend to arrange their children in such institutions. But is it worth chasing prestige? Objectively assess the abilities of your child: if he can hardly cope even with the usual school curriculum, he will be completely unhappy in the gymnasium. Is the prestige of neuroses, complexes and depression worth it?
It makes sense to communicate with parents and students, for example by meeting them after school. An excellent indicator is when several brothers or sisters study at the same school at once. If the older child did not like the school, the parents would not send the younger one there.
4. My first teacher
Few things influence the development of a person more than the image of the first teacher. Often, parents choose their children not the first school, but the first teacher – the one who will help instill a love of knowledge and curiosity, motivate and lay down the academic foundation. It is very important that the teacher is interested in his students, that he is emotionally open and ready to help.
Nobody knows your child better than you. Talk to teachers who are recruiting first-graders. Perhaps you will get acquainted with the one that is exactly right for your child.
5. Are new schools really that bad?
Some people think that the older the school, the more impressive its history, the better. Is it so? No. New schools can be no worse, because the staff of teachers and equipment are of paramount importance. If the teachers are ambitious, eager to teach, interested in learning, then the school can be at least just opened, this will not make it worse than the oldest lyceum in the city.
How to choose a good school: 5 rules
1. Accessible information. A good school that takes pride in its work has nothing to hide. It’s great if she has her own website, where, in addition to dry facts, there are photos, interesting information, useful articles, as well as the opportunity to communicate with teachers and parents.
2. Purity. The school must be clean! During the Open House, take a stroll down the hallways and sniff. It sounds ridiculous, but in fact it is extremely important: no good school will smell like a toilet.
3. School life. On the walls there should be wall newspapers, advertisements for enrollment in circles, sections, trips. This shows the interest of students and teachers in the educational and extracurricular process.
4. Students. Do schoolchildren greet you and are not afraid to look into your eyes, even if they see you for the first time? Wonderful! Another “plus” to the image.
5. Dry statistics. Most schools are “attached” to kindergartens. The quality of an educational institution is quite simple to determine: look at how many kindergarteners go to a school “tied” to a kindergarten. If the majority, then everything is fine. If a minority or a half – it’s not very good.

Do you pay attention to reviews on the Internet when choosing a school for your child? On the eve of the start of the campaign to enroll children in the first grades, the editors of 63. RU decided to rank the educational institutions of Samara according to the points that their parents give them online. To do this, we looked at how schools, lyceums and gymnasiums are rated in Yandex, what moms and dads, as well as former graduates write in reviews on 2GIS. And we found a lot of interesting things there.

Unfortunately or fortunately, there is no such educational institution in Samara that parents would definitely give the coveted five stars. Closest to the cherished maximum in Samara approached only one institution – primary school and kindergarten “Rostok”. It is located in the Krasnoglinsky district of the city, on Batayskaya, 17. The score of this institution is 4.7.
There are 23 reviews about this school on Yandex, and all of them are mostly positive. Almost the only fly in the ointment in the Rostok honey barrel was made by a user under the nickname Noname.
— Nice kindergarten, I went to it myself. Now the child is walking. Good teaching staff, excellent cuisine, medical staff. But there is a bold “BUT”: the kindergarten spends little money on its maintenance. Most (yes, almost everything) is done at the expense of the parents (from the group to street playgrounds). The fence is terrible, children can leave or anyone can go there. There are voluntary-compulsory requisitions in the form of receipts for protection and the garden fund.
Another Internet user who introduced himself as Grigory Golovachev also complained about the fence in Rostok. Also, one of the townspeople said that there is “no music worker” here.
Other commentators described in detail the advantages of the school:
— They didn’t even doubt choosing a kindergarten because it’s the best! Everything is perfect here: groups, teachers, program, additional classes, attitude towards children and parents. A real classic garden – like in our childhood, – wrote Anastasia Barakova.
— Excellent kindergarten and school from 1st to 4th grade with him. All caregivers, teachers, and staff that I have come across clearly love children and their work. Well done. It’s a pity that the school only goes to school 2 times in 4 years, ”complained a user with the nickname Kirill.

The rating of this educational institution was 4.6 points. Parents note separately the staff and teachers. In total, moms and dads left 83 reviews about the lyceum. Moreover, among them there were about a dozen negative ones, in which users put only one LAP star.
– This is some kind of horror! Getting into the 10th grade is unrealistic. I came to the test in mathematics, besides me there were three more people, one of whom was a medalist. As a result, we were told that there were three places, but none of us passed, since we decided on 3 and 2. — Lyceum as a colony for juvenile delinquents. The sports ground is empty. You never hear the laughter of children. What is happening there? asked a certain Autogen aka.
— Probably, there are only two or three normal teachers. The Russian language teacher could not explain the simplest example. The physics teacher leaves everything at the mercy of the students. The textbooks on this subject do not contain half of the material, but there are assignments. This is like a new feature so that the students themselves are looking for everything. As a result, we chose an institution that has a fairly large number of reviews in Yandex – the Samara Waldorf School, located on Buyanova, 105. Educational institutions are general education, and in the lower grades there are no grades, and classes are held without textbooks.
This school has 25 reviews in total. And here are some opinions against this institution:
– Disgusting. This is for rich parents who want to pay large sums for the education of their children, – said an anonymous Samara resident.
“After such studies, there is no knowledge of the exact sciences,” Yulia Strizhakova, a resident of Samara, shared her opinion.
And this is where the negative side of the opinions of Samara residents ended. The rest of the comments were positive, but there were not so many detailed ones.

A record low rating, only 2.2 *, was received by the school with the loud name “Elite”, located on the Avenue of Young Pioneers, 127a. I am writing this letter to share with you my thoughts and personal experiences regarding the care my child receives while attending this KinderCare location. Before my daughter’s enrollment at KinderCare, I was hesitant to leave her with “strangers.” It wasn’t until she was two when I suddenly needed daycare. This situation was new to me and I was reluctant. It did not take long for the staff to change my opinion. We have been with KinderCare now for about three-and-a-half years now. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. She was originally here for all-day care. I have been teaching at this preschool for five years, and I served as a substitute teacher here before that. I also worked for the Oregon School District for three years as a para sub.
Although I studied to be an optician at Lakeshore Technical College, I chose to become a full-time stay-at-home mom when my first child was born. Through various volunteer opportunities, I quickly realized that I love working with children.

I am excited to join the Christ Memorial Preschool team this year, especially because I have experienced first-hand the positive interactions between families, students and staff in this preschool community.
My background: At the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, I earned degrees in early childhood special and regular education. I also earned my master’s degree in education at Viterbo University.
I taught kindergarten for a decade in the Middleton-Cross Plains School District, but then chose to stay home after my daughter was born. I am excited to resume teaching now at Christ Memorial!
My daughter has been in the 2 ½’s room and the 3’s rooms. Now, she is looking forward to entering Ms. Karen and Ms. Jenni’s 4K room in the fall — and to have me be right down the hallway.
Our family lives on the west side of Madison, and we are members of the Church at Christ Memorial. We enjoy being outdoors, cooking, spending time with our extended family, reading, and doing arts and crafts.

My husband and I have been fortunate to have both of our boys enrolled at CMP and I can’t say enough great things about this place and these people. As a graduate of Coe College, I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in reading and language arts. No surprise, I love to read to my own kids and am excited to have the opportunity to do the same with your children. Both before and during college, I worked in a daycare with children of all ages where I was able to put my education experience to work. After graduation, I spent time substitute teaching and tutoring students in reading, language arts, and math. Since that time, I have been honing my skills as a mom, wife, and part time employee in real estate, home organization, and business consulting.

We landed in Mandalay, left the airport and started our adventure in Myanmar .
🗓 It was December 2012 , and apart from a few tourists, the airport and surrounding area seemed empty, like in a perfect Alfred Hitchcock movie.
We passed all the security checks, left the shiny but empty airport, got into an 80’s car and drove down a deserted highway. The taxi reminded me of my father’s car, which my brother and I called “a wreck” (because it could break down at any moment). and besides, it was the middle of the workweek, so not a soul was in sight when we entered the city.
During the first two weeks of December 2012 we visited Jakarta, Bali, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Myanmar (Mandalay, Inle Lake, Bagan and Yangon) and ended our holiday with a trip to Sri Lanka.
My buddy is very good on the internet and found a lot of information on how to travel in Myanmar .
Things that we consider almost basic human rights did not exist there 10 years ago.
There was no mobile phone service, almost no Internet connection, and no ATMs.
They only accepted physical US dollars, but you had to be careful as certain serial numbers were not accepted.
Wrinkled or torn banknotes were also not accepted, so we put all our cash in books so that the banknotes would not wrinkle.
As soon as you stop thinking about the lack of modern means of communication and financial services, you will see a country full of potential, beautiful temples and hospitable people.
We traveled to a new city every day to cover as much of the country as possible within the limited time we spent there. We spent the last few days at Yangon , the commercial capital of the country.
During the era of the British colony, this city, which was called Rangoon , was one of their most prosperous.
Due to its location between India, Thailand and China and its deep-water port overlooking the Andaman Sea, Myanmar has an important geostrategic importance.
The country is also rich in gems (such as rubies and jade), natural resources (they have huge reserves of natural gas and oil), and a large young population (perfect for making trinkets to be sold on Amazon in exchange for cheap wages).
However, for various reasons, all these natural benefits are not used in full. Therefore, the country lived decades in the past.
Wherever you are in the world, you are always saturated with the cultural and linguistic characteristics of the country. December in Yangon was no different.
What surprised me the most was the amount of Christmas decorations in and around Yangon. Myanmar is a Buddhist-majority country with large Muslim communities.
The culture of this country has not been built on Judeo-Christian values, and the country is not so integrated into the world economy as to suggest that a secular consumer holiday such as Christmas is practiced.
But in spite of all this, I heard all the classic Christmas tunes.
I will always love you, Mariah! I saw snowmen in a tropical dusty city, jingle bells and Santa hats.
Hostesses in many bars wore matching red and white robes to show their involvement in this global end-of-year ritual.
The Judeo-Christian liberal democratic empire ignored Myanmar, but people still absorbed some of its most important cultural aspects.
Each society practices rituals and holds festivals to celebrate the death of one year and the birth of another. What the people of Myanmar practice says a lot about who really runs the show.
If people share similar cultural values, then they share generally accepted beliefs and practices that do not have to be directly supported.
Winning people’s hearts and minds is more important than your ability to radiate momentum.
Occupation of foreign territory without imparting one’s own culture to the conquered people can become quite an expensive gamble.
Every organizational structure, be it a state, a religion, or a sect, needs to attract and retain members. The belonging virus is transmitted through culture and language.
It’s much easier to keep users in your value system if they share the same beliefs as the culture that seeks to absorb them.

Tesla as a company should be worth nothing more than zero, but Elon is one of the best memlords the world has ever seen.
Someone told me that he has a whole team dedicated only to memes. Elon is worth hundreds of billions of dollars because he knows how to beat memes to the point.
Like a virus, memes infect the host’s mind with an idea that is easy to understand and pass on to the next victim. And social media allows the meme to spread quickly.
We often forget about the power of images, but don’t forget how all the world’s major religions started.
Major world religions were gaining followers at a time when books were expensive and most people were illiterate.
Priests built structures with pictures, the equivalent of the memes of the time, to educate the laity about the basics of religion.
Let’s go over some of the memes that form the basis of our current cryptoculture.

Hodl the [email protected] door!
It was an episode that just blew my mind. Too bad the last season didn’t work.
Here’s a link to an article that goes into more detail about the birth of the HODL meme.
Many people bought a cue ball at a low price only to sell it after a major revaluation.
However, revaluations 2013 , 2017 and 2021 are generally different worlds.
You need to be extremely convinced to buy Bitcoin for a few dollars and still hold it after a growth of 60,000 times.
This is the essence of HODL .
But it takes even more faith to walk when paper profits are down 90% or more.
The battle cry of HODL is designed to give cryptocurrency holders confidence that they can weather the volatility.
Any new technology goes through stages of wild volatility. And if speculators and developers want the ecosystem to grow, then the answer is HODL.
Hurricanes of progress of new technologies will endure all but the most persistent “believers”.
The HODL culture is essential to keep a critical mass of followers moving and participating when things go wrong.
Cryptocurrency has never been for the faint-hearted at all, especially if you are someone who constantly checks the price of the coins in your portfolio.
Engaging in this activity without proper faith in the HODL culture is the path to bipolar disorder.
Money Printer Go Brrr….
This is the original version of a classic meme that has spawned many variations.

It is undeniable that the global financial crisis of 2008 and the “fixing” by central banks created favorable conditions for the birth of Bitcoin .
Central banks, and the governments that empower them, responded to the Great Recession and each subsequent crisis by printing money.
The new money only benefits selected companies and holders of financial assets. Those whose earnings consist mainly of wages, in f @ ne.
That’s the whole point of this meme.
This is a rallying cry for all those who resent the hypocrisy of governments that pursue market economic policies but force citizens to pay for the bad business decisions of financial institutions through inflation.
Privatization of profits and socialization of losses. I don’t know what an economic “ism” is, but if it were a “religion” it would definitely be on the rise.
In almost every article I write about central bank-sponsored monetary inflation.
This is because the massive amount of printed money created by global central banks has been the backbone of the painful rally seen in the crypto markets since the March 2020 covid crash.
The desire to create a system based on reliable money that does not require trust is a great motivation for many believers.
This meme embodies that feeling.
Wage Cuckin’
Popular financial media love to write stories about good day trading in rags-to-riches style.
Something like this:
An ordinary person with an ordinary salary discovers the crypt
They write that this person starts day trading
Buys a shield that makes 1000 X’s in a week
Oops! Man now has millions of dollars
Now you can quit your dull job and join the rich club
The continuation is usually printed during a bear market and looks like this:
Then the market collapsed by 90% and he had nothing left

There is another story about people who, thanks to HODL, have turned their thousands into millions or even billions of dollars over the years as a result of rising prices.
Again, the stories suggest that this person is now living a completely different life from the daily life of an employee.

At one time Warrior was crypto-rich, but then a rect happened, and he had to return to frying cutlets.
There is nothing wrong with frying meatballs or any other job that pays minimum wage.
The dignity of this job is only lost when your government destroys the value of your work by aggressively printing money to plug holes in the balance sheets of wasteful companies that deserve bankruptcy, not bailouts.
This is the essence of this meme, and it satirizes the orthodoxy associated with the dignity of the work.
And it also speaks to the goal of many participants in the crypto market – to rise above the everyday existence in which your time is constantly depreciating.

To “monkey” means to imitate. Oooooh, that’s juicy.
Any successful concocted idea that creates a form of organization such as a nation, a religion, or a currency requires ape.
We watch and follow others.
Trading spirit of imitation (aping) is an expression of the sometimes careless attitude towards buying assets in the crypto ecosystem.
When you apply for a project, the amount of research or critical thinking is kept to a minimum.
You follow the herd quickly and hopefully get out before the mood of the masses changes. This is the essence of aping.
If you spend too much time doing real research, you’re missing out on a few x’s of growth.
Who successfully imitates the herd or anticipates where the attention of the group will turn, receives a lot of money.
No wonder Bored Ape Yacht Club has become one of NFT’s most successful and best-selling projects.
This is a visual representation of the ethos of many traders in the ecosystem.
Dog Money
Shiba Inu are so kawaii it hurts a little. They don’t seem like the most obedient dogs, but you think I don’t give a shit?
Jackson Palmer decided to see what would happen if we combined useless technology with a cute picture of a dog. Woof-woof-woof… that’s how Dogecoin was born.
So it’s not surprising that memlord Elon Musk most often talks about Dogecoin in crypto. Useless technology plus clear memes have created billions of dollars of value for the car company and the cryptocurrency.
Yes, it’s that simple.
Many of the highly valued coins deliberately do not focus on technology. It looks like the founders of these projects thought to themselves:
“How shitty is it possible to create technology and still get people to buy a coin?”
The buyers of these “meme” coins are happy, in fact, to dig in the ground and burn energy (read: money) for no good.
They don’t value fiat money at all because governments devalue it literally every second, every single day.
Why would they buy the “right” financial assets such as stocks, bonds and/or real estate?
Why even pay fees to some financial manager just because he studied CAPM and other empirically useless theories at the “right” university?
Just buy objectively technologically worthless cryptocurrencies, pump their price tag and laugh when the world’s elite are shaking indignantly about how stupid it is to buy “dog” money.
Even though meme money does nothing to promote decentralization or secure non-government money, it is pure crypto spirit because it is an expression of dissatisfaction with the TradFi fiat system.

Krypt, for some reason, chose a cute frog and turned him into a mascot.
Pepe and his memes are a testament to how a community can change its mind about a symbol if they all collectively decide that it means something to them.

How to communicate
The small selection of culturally important crypto memes above tells the world who we are, what we believe and what we despise.
But it does not contribute to communication with those who have not yet caught up with the joke. The language of the crypto system must adapt to achieve the higher goals we strive for.

What could it be made up of?
How do we create a small but impressive collection of memes, phrases and stories that anyone can pick up and learn within hours to talk like they’ve been a member of the tribe for years?
Slang creates just another privileged club for those who are “in the know”.
There is no talk of inclusion, and it does not help recruit new members. We do not need a language that takes years to master.
Working on the trading floor, the most valuable thing you learn is the ability to communicate .
This speeds up transactions within the group and creates a division between professionals and the unwashed masses.
However, the study of this language is intended for thousands of professionals who are “fortunate” to work in the markets. So you can’t build a global movement.
Unfortunately, you don’t need crypto to live a fulfilling life. Compare this with learning your spoken and written language.
To fit into society, you must be able to communicate. If everyone around you speaks a certain language, then you should spend time learning it.
The most important part of early childhood education is learning the language of the society in which you live. Languages stop being intuitive after a certain point.
We sit in a classroom and learn nonsense rules for the sole purpose of getting ideas across to others who speak the same language.
My Chinese level is didn’t get any further because, as an adult, I became more careful about how I spend my time, and memorizing pictograms is generally not a favorite pastime.
I am not writing to humiliate the language. Those who learn English at a later age have to deal with a whole set of incorrect grammatical rules and verb conjugations that do not make any logical sense.
I was just lucky that I learned the language of the dominant empire in my childhood and not in adulthood.
Let’s not assume that people need to learn our crypto language in order to fully participate in the culture.
We must approach the problem from the point of view of a new “religion” that seeks to challenge the dominant patterns of society’s thinking.
It’s worked before, and success comes from creating simple but viral memes that attack the flaws of the dominant belief system on the one hand, and show a bright and fulfilling future that’s easy to get if you just believe.
The COVID pandemic is something we created ourselves.
But various measures, including lockdowns and money printing in almost every country, have made the public spend more time online and angry at the runaway inflation created by central banks.
This is the foundation that allowed the crypto revolution to convert more hearts and minds.
A minority can be extremely strong against an apathetic majority.
💬 Nassim Taleb perfectly describes this point, how the preferences of a minority, even if they are a small single digit percentage in the sample, can influence the politics of the majority.
As a minority, we followers of Lord Satoshi can surpass our weight class.
However, we need a language that will be significantly different from what it was before, and which, moreover, will be easy to learn.
I’m not a linguist, but I think we can reflect on how we describe an ecosystem and try to simplify and create terms that are easier to digest.
Then the path to massadaption will become easier.
The biggest challenge will be to reduce the use of words and phrases that have specific meanings in the old system but mean little in crypto.
For example, the term “blue chip ” is used to refer to premium, high-value financial assets or works of art.
It has a history that dates back to TradFi’s ascension to the throne in the early 20th century.
We need a crypto equivalent to denote high value, where there is also an organic backstory unique to our culture.
We need to force our influencers to adapt the language to our specific crypto culture in order to retain the ability to define who we are and what our belief history is.
Success will be closer when those who do not have a crypt start to join the culture, spread memes and speak our language.
When boomers start talking about how they reckoned because Proctor and Gamble stocks dumped after some misunderstanding with accounting, then we understand that the virality of cryptoculture is at the proper level.

If you’re just adding a foreign language to your homeschooling, or are new to homeschooling altogether, you may be wondering what this might look like.
With the right materials, teaching Spanish at the preschool level can actually be easy, even if you don’t speak the language yourself! You can even learn alongside your child. (The Llamitas Spanish curriculum makes it easy!)
There are a few things to keep in mind when planning Spanish lessons for preschool and kindergarten.
Have Fun
We can’t emphasize enough that teaching Spanish in preschool should be fun! Young children learn through play. Joy should be at the heart of their language learning experience in the early years.
Movement and music are essential for keeping preschool age children engaged. They’ll need to get those wiggles out, even during their Spanish lesson.
You can do this by dancing to Spanish songs on YouTube or learning some Spanish finger plays together.
Another fun option is to get out any musical instruments you might have (or make your own with empty containers and kitchen utensils) and play along to some timeless nursery rhymes together.
Focus on Input
When it comes to language learning at any age, input (reading and listening) is so important. This means that you want your child to have plenty of exposure to authentic Spanish throughout the day.
You can accomplish this with the use of materials like:
Music
Audiobooks and podcasts
Spanish TV shows, movies, or videos
Stories and books
Flashcards
Games
Manipulatives
If you aren’t fluent in Spanish, you’ll want to use resources with native speakers like audiobooks, recordings, and apps when you can. But you can also practice your own pronunciation by reading to your child in Spanish.
When you’re just getting started reading in Spanish, pick out simple Spanish books for beginners. Board books and first word books are great options for reading to preschoolers.
Remember the Four Language Skills
As a language teacher, I always incorporated the four language skills in each lesson: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. All of these are essential for language learning at any age and any level!
In preschool and kindergarten, of course, this may look a little different than it does for older children or adults. For example, reading and writing may be covered by working on letter recognition, sight words in, and tracing letters from the Spanish alphabet.
Thematic lessons, like those in the Llamitas curriculum, are a great way to easily incorporate all four language skills into your lessons.
Repeat!
Don’t be afraid to use the same materials and activities often with your preschooler as long as it’s still keeping their interest. Repetition is also crucial when you’re teaching Spanish to your little one.
Luckily, preschoolers often love repeating nursery rhymes and singing the same songs over and over again, so this shouldn’t be too hard!
When planning your lessons, having a routine can be extremely helpful, too. Using a certain song, rhyme, or fingerplay can help your child to know that their lesson is beginning or they’re transitioning to a new activity.
Keep Lessons Short
While we encourage you to give your child plenty of exposure to Spanish throughout their day, preschoolers and kindergarteners do best with short lessons. The 3 to 6-year-old age group doesn’t have a very long attention span after all.
A normal preschool day is only about 2 or 3 hours long and usually includes plenty of time for play and exploration. A preschool Spanish lesson should be about 30 to 45 minutes and incorporate plenty of interactive activities during that time.
A sample schedule for a preschool Spanish class might looks like this:
Warm up and greetings: Practice any phrases you’ve been working on and sing a Spanish greeting song together. This is a good time to review what you’ve learned so far.
Thematic lesson: This might include any curriculum materials or books you’ve been working through with your child. Keep things interesting with crafts, flashcards, and games if they’re not already included with your workbook.
Music & movement: Use a fun activity to support the lesson. It could be a game, a dance, or pretend play. Anything that gets your little one up and moving!
Story time: Read or listen to a Spanish picture book together. Talk about what you see in the pictures and what’s happening in the story.
Wrap-up: This is a great time to incorporate a routine, such as a Spanish finger play or song, to signal that you’re done for the day.

Preschool education in Spain
Preschool education in Spain (educación infantil) is optional .
It is divided into two cycles: the first cycle – from 0 to 3 years, and the second – from 3 to 6 years. Institutions for this age group may be public or private. The former are usually called pre-school education and training centers and are run by local government administrations. Private educational institutions have permission from the administrative bodies of local authorities to carry out this activity and can be called as follows: “private institutions of preschool education”. There are also institutions that have the right to be called only kindergartens.
In some Spanish preschools, during the adjustment period, the child is allowed to be accompanied by his mother or another close adult. However, this is not common.
There are kindergartens where parents can accompany their child directly to the classroom (in the process of adaptation and the entire course), but some institutions allow you to bring your child only to the entrance to the center.
In many preschool institutions, Spanish teachers show increased attention to the kids and treat them with love and care. Also, a lot of time is devoted to games with children. To do this, various developmental techniques are used.
As for nutrition, various centers use their own feeding system for children. In some institutions, there is a fixed amount of food for each child, which caregivers strive to give to children (here it should be noted that this is not entirely correct, and we are dealing with the term “disrespectful nutrition”). But there are Spanish preschools where the daily food needs of babies are considered individually, taking into account the personal preferences of the children themselves and their parents.
The main content of the pre-school education program in Spain
The preschool program is to create conditions for the harmonious development of the child. For this, as noted earlier, Spanish teachers use various educational games and techniques. Training takes place in a friendly and trusting atmosphere.
In the second cycle of training, special attention is paid to:
development in children of the desire for self-knowledge;
increase children’s self-esteem;
environmental studies;
development of language speech.
In some preschool institutions, children are taught a foreign language during the last year of the second cycle.
Admission conditions
The conditions for admission to preschool educational institutions in Spain are regulated by article 84 of the Organic Law on Education (LOE).
On admission, in no case should there be discrimination against the child on the basis of his place of birth, race, sex, religion, beliefs or other social circumstances.
Parents / guardians of the child have the right to choose for him a public / private educational institution in Spain.
If there are not enough study places in a public educational institution, then priority for admission is given according to the following criteria:
⇒ a sibling or parent/guardian of an incoming child is already in school;
⇒ the place of residence of the incoming child or the place of work of his parent (guardian) is near the educational institution;
⇒ An incoming child or parent/guardian/siblings has a disability.
Attention! Check the conditions for admission of children from large families in the administrative institutions for education in your province.

If you try to characterize Spanish kindergartens in one word, you can only say that they are different. There are many types of these educational institutions in the country and, although pre-school education is not compulsory in Spain, getting into kindergarten is not easy – there are a lot of people who want to.
Pre-school education – the shortest way to schools in Spain
More than half of kindergartens in this country are state-owned. They are divided into two groups according to their age group. Toddlers from a few months to three years old attend a nursery (guarderia in Spanish). During this period, priority is given to the social adaptation of the child, the development of independence and the simplest self-service skills.
The next three years, although they belong to preschool education, will no longer be a kindergarten, but a school. Preparatory groups are called Escuela infantil in Spanish. They are visited by children from 3 to 6 years old, who are consistently prepared to master reading and writing, teach the basics of arithmetic and provide basic knowledge about the world around them. Most of these gardens have music and dance classes.
Escuela infantil are still not mandatory to visit and there are not enough places in them – according to statistics, only a third of those who wish can get there. Visiting the garden is free, but parents may be asked to pay for didactic materials, meals, excursions, etc.
Foreigners are admitted to state kindergartens simply by the fact of being in Spain. You only need a document proving the identity of the child, and a certificate of preventive vaccinations. However, the state kindergarten is accepted only if both parents work.
The country also has Catholic kindergartens, where nuns are actively involved in babysitting. Such a garden provides secular education. However, it is not easy for foreign children to get into these educational institutions.
There are many private kindergartens in the Spanish preschool education system. Often they open at colleges – schools where children begin to receive primary education at the age of 6. The cost of education in Spain

No surprise, I love to read to my own kids and am excited to have the opportunity to do the same with your children. Both before and during college, I worked in a daycare with children of all ages where I was able to put my education experience to work. After graduation, I spent time substitute teaching and tutoring students in reading, language arts, and math. Since that time, I have been honing my skills as a mom, wife, and part time employee in real estate, home organization, and business consulting.
