Using Technology-Based Applications During CLASS Program Assessments

By Arielle Tuan

12 Jun, 2023

Did you know? Children can benefit from using technology in the classroom and expand their learning by using technology-based applications on computers, tablets, or smartboards. One example of a technology-based application is Age of Learning! Here are a few ways educators can implement a healthy, technology-based curriculum, even during a CLASS Program Assessment: Use computers or tablets to share videos that help explain topics under discussion, such as the life cycle of a butterfly. Use computers or tablets during centers as a choice activity and engage with the children during this usage. Use smartboards during guided play with activities such as math games or drawing. Put three or four tablets on a table during centers and ask open-ended questions (for example, “What are you learning?”). Use the tablets as an opportunity to practice more complex topics, such as language modeling or concept development strategies. Encourage the children to think, make predictions, and comparisons! Approach children during their individual time with the technology and help build upon their abilities to complete spelling words and math problems. If they get stuck on a word, phrase, or instruction, help provide additional information about their activity. Provide vocabulary related to what children are seeing on the tablets and discuss how these images relate to real life. Using computers or tablets in small groups is preferred. If it is necessary to use tablets in a large group setting, be flexible when children show interest in something else. So, how do these examples translate to successful interactions on some of the CLASS dimensions? Concept Development- Educators can integrate Age of Learning activities to the current classroom topic, “Letter of the Week,” or science objectives. Concept Development- Educators can facilitate brainstorming and planning, which children can then use with virtual drawings or building platforms to create. Positive Climate- Educators will be close by while children use technology, as well as make positive comments about what the children are doing. Language Modeling- Educators can converse with the children about their virtual activities. Quality of Feedback- Educators can ask children about their actions and thoughts (for example, “Why did you choose that character? How did you create that?”). Educators can then build upon their virtual activities and help while the children use the technology. Regard for the Student Perspective- Educators can ensure children have a controlled choice of virtual activities. Technology-based applications, such as Age of Learning, ABC Mouse, or PBS Kids, are used throughout Pre-K classrooms to enhance learning for children. If educators consistently incorporate these technology strategies, they will help create a productive learning environment that children will become familiar with, while maintaining engaging classroom routines. Make sure not to hide those tablets during CLASS Program Assessments! Educators can incorporate technology into the great work already being done in the classroom.

Acronyms: Explained

01 Dec, 2022

One thing you may come across when researching early learning programs and scholarships are acronyms. In this field, an acronym exists for almost everything, and it can truly boggle the mind. At least, it did for me! Let us make your life a bit easier by freeing some space in your brain and defining the most commonly used acronyms in early learning: CCR&R- Child Care Resource and Referral A free service that helps families identify and select quality early learning programs. DCF- Department of Children and Families A state agency of Florida that provides social services to children, adults, and child care providers. DEL- The Division of Early Learning Part of the Florida Department of Education, DEL supports children, families, and child care providers by partnering with 30 early learning coalitions and Redlands Christian Migrant Association to deliver three programs: School Readiness, Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), and Child Care Resource and Referral. DOE- Department of Education The DOE works with parents, teachers, educators, and community members to improve Florida’s education system for students of backgrounds and abilities. EHS- Early Head Start A program that provides early, continuous, intensive, and comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income infants and toddlers and their families. SR- School Readiness A program that helps eligible working parents with the cost of child care (frequently called a child care subsidy). VPK- Voluntary Prekindergarten A free early learning program for 4 and 5-year-olds who live in the state of Florida. There are plenty more- honestly, we could go on all day- but these are ones you will come across more often. Have any to add? Let us know!

Preparing for VPK

01 Dec, 2022

For many families and caregivers, the beginning of a new school year comes with challenging transitions and new routines. And though my own child is still young, changing our routine from going to the one-year-old classroom at his school to the two-year-old classroom was hard on our family. This can be especially true for children entering into kindergarten and voluntary prekindergarten (VPK) programs. Here are some tips that can help young children and their caregivers prepare for a smooth start: Visit your VPK provider before the first day of school. New places can be scary for little ones but visiting the facility and introducing your child to their teacher can squash some of those first day jitters. It’s also common for parents to have their own set of nerves prior to the first day. Nerves can make one forgetful, so make a list of questions to ask your child care provider to ensure you’re getting all the information you need during your visit. Establish a routine. Whether it’s eating a healthy breakfast in the morning or wrapping your child up in a big bear hug at drop-off, a simple routine can do wonders for easing stress and separation anxiety. Although, if you’re like me, there may be days where you’re late for work and, oops, you’re out of ingredients for a healthy breakfast. It’s OK! The key word here is “simple. ” Even if all you do every morning is a big kiss and an affirmative “have a great day,” if you’re consistent, that’s all that matters. Help your child mentally prepare for school and VPK. Talk to them about the new routine, let them know what time school starts, who will drop them off, pick them up, and what a typical school day will consist of. This can also help get them excited for school! This can be especially helpful for little ones with anxiety. Knowing in advance how long something will last and what to expect can do wonders for their nerves. Even as an adult, those tactics work for me. Equip your child with self-help skills, such as putting on their shoes, dressing themselves, packing their backpack, and mastering toilet etiquette. These skills will help with confidence and get them prepared for the daily school routine. Keep in mind, if mornings tend to be rushed or hectic in your household, many skills can be done the night before, such as having your child lay out clothes or prepare their lunch for the next day. In the weeks leading up to a new VPK school year, transition to an earlier bedtime. Children will do better in the classroom if they are well-rested. An earlier bedtime can sometimes be easier said than done, especially when returning to school after holidays, vacations, and long weekends. Stick with a calming nighttime routine and get back into the earlier groove once everyone is settled into the week. Read books to your child about attending school. This can help them learn what to expect in a prekindergarten program and get them excited about the fun activities that await. Some great options are “A New School Year” by Sally Derby and “The Day You Begin” by Jacqueline Woodson. Or you can make up your own story! Ask your child how they feel about VPK! Having open conversations on their feelings about school is a great opportunity to address fears and concerns. Even if they respond with a shrug or an “I don’t know,” don’t give up! Keep gently asking when they feel up to talking and remind them that you’re always there for them. Do you have a child that has been through, or is currently attending, VPK? What tips do you have to share with other parents and caregivers?

Why were 350,000 rats and mice killed in Australia?

In 2019, more than 350 thousand rodents were killed on the territory of the Australian island of Lord Howe. This was done with 22,000 poison bait traps and large quantities of poisoned grain pellets. So that other animals would not suffer from traps, many of them were caught and kept in zoos. More than $15.5 million was spent on the entire rodent extermination project. The extermination of rats and mice was necessary because there were too many of them on the island. According to researchers’ calculations, several years ago there were 1,000 (!) rodents per inhabitant of the island. In the framework of this article, I propose to find out exactly what rats and mice interfered with people and other inhabitants of the Australian island. And anyway – do you know how rats and mice began to spread throughout the planet and create problems?

A lot of rats have been killed in Australia, and there is a reason for this

How to get rid of rats?

Lord Howe Island Rodent Extermination Project featured in ABC News. This island is located 600 kilometers from Australia and it is relatively small – its area is 14. 6 square kilometers. About 100 years ago, rats came to this island and began to massively exterminate the animals living there. In a few years, they managed to exterminate 5 endemic species – animals that were found exclusively on this island and nowhere else. They also caused the extinction of 13 invertebrates and 2 plant species. In addition to all this, they have become the worst pests of agriculture. Destroying stocks of grain crops, they brought a lot of problems to people.

Before the start of the rodent eradication program, rats destroyed everything in their path. Even though the length of the island is only about 10 kilometers, it turned out to be quite a challenge. As mentioned at the beginning of the article, poison traps were used to exterminate rodents. The baits were installed in prominent places, and pellets with sent grains were dropped from a helicopter into hard-to-reach parts of the island. These traps could have fallen into local birds such as wood shepherds ( Hypotaenidia sylvestris ) and raven flute players ( Strepera graculina crissalis ). To keep them safe, they were captured and temporarily housed in zoos in Sydney.

    Wood Shepherd

The plan worked perfectly. After 3 months from the beginning of the program, there are almost no harmful rodents left on the island. At least they weren’t visible. The researchers believe that if rats and mice are not found even after 2 years, Lord Howe Island can be considered free from pests. Since the project was launched a long time ago, it remains only to wait until the second half of 2021. Birds closed in zoos have long been released into the wild and the result of the work done is already noticeable. The forest shepherds returned to the island at the beginning of 2020 and since then their number has increased to 450 individuals. Before, there were far fewer of them.

    Lord Howe Island

People living on the island have also noticed the changes. Of course, no one breaks into their grain stores anymore. But that’s not all, because at night they again hear the crickets singing. But when rats lived on the island, these insects were very rare. In the end, local residents were satisfied with the result, although they had previously opposed it. Many of them believed that poisonous baits would harm the environment. But nothing bad happened – solid pluses.

See also: How many animals have been saved from extinction?

    The origin of rats

According to scientists, rats appeared on our planet about 2.5 million years ago. All over the planet, they began to spread along with man. Most actively, rats spread to different parts on European ships. Due to their spread, many species of animals have suffered in various parts of our planet. Isolated islands were particularly hard hit – Lord Howe, mentioned above, could well be attributed to such. Rats simply ate many animals. And for some, they have become serious competitors who take food for themselves.

Rats have been living on our planet since very ancient times.

Rats are also very dangerous for humans.

Daily schedule for toddler: Toddler Schedule Examples – Sleeping Should Be Easy

Toddler Schedule Examples – Sleeping Should Be Easy

Looking for a daily toddler schedule? Whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a working mom, these sample daily schedules can make life easier.

The toddler schedule. This is often the first place we look to when the kids are throwing us off. Your child may be refusing naps or taking a long time to fall asleep. Her behavior since the new baby arrived hasn’t improved but has grown worse.

She could also be starting preschool in a few months, prompting you to start her on a toddler schedule before then. Maybe you’ve been struggling to find things to do now that she’s a toddler.

Or you might be looking for a toddler schedule that doesn’t leave her overtired come bedtime after a long, exhausting afternoon.

You may have tried playing with your current schedule to see if doing that helps, but nothing seems to solve the issue. And the ones you’ve found don’t accommodate your work hours.

Finding the right toddler schedule that works for you

Many of us look to toddler schedules first for good reason. A good routine can solve many of the surprising or relentless issues that come up or never seem to go away. It can turn things around, especially since it makes your days so much more predictable for your child.

The trick is to stay consistent so that you don’t even have to think about it after a while. To keep at it, instead of calling it quits after a few days (schedules rely on consistent repetition, after all).

And of course, you also want to find one you can actually do, one that works with your lifestyle as well as with your child’s needs. A toddler schedule is only as effective as the parent and child implementing it. As we all know, there is hardly a one-size-fits-all solution, including with schedules.

You may even find that a sample toddler schedule that works wonders for a while needs to be tweaked and experimented with over time. After all, your child grows up and may need fewer naps or different activities. Along with consistency, another key point is to observe and tweak as needed.

15 daily toddler schedules to try

That’s why having a sample schedule can be so useful, whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a working mom.

Below I list 15 different templates to refer to, based on how other families structure their days with their toddlers. I kept the schedules simple and focused on key “pillar” events of the day—namely meals, naps, and bedtime.

You can vary the activities you do in between, or stick to the same activity every day.

Creating a Toddler Schedule: 6 Sample Routines to Help You Get Started

My family follows a daily routine and I have used schedules since my twins were two months old.

I regularly talk about routine and answer questions from readers about how to create a daily toddler schedule that works and make changes when things aren’t working.

I know when I first starting thinking about using a routine, I had no idea where to start. I asked my friends about their own routine to hear what was working well for them.

I think it’s helpful to see what other moms are doing and listen to what works in their homes, so you can see the possibilities of what could work in yours.

This is why I asked six other Stay at Home Moms to share their routines so readers can have a handful of sample of daily toddler schedules to compare and find inspiration for their own.

You can use any of these schedules as a starting point to try a new routine or adjust your current schedule for better sleep habits to fit your toddler.

The best part about making a schedule?

You are in the driver seat of structuring the day for your toddler because you know what will work best for your little one, and your family.

    For example:

    • If wake up time of one schedule mirrors the wake up time of your toddler, this might be a great starting point to building your schedule.
    • If the bedtime of another schedule aligns with your toddler’s nightly flow, this could be a good routine to look to for inspiration.

My Favorite Trick for Helping Kids Learn a Toddler Schedule

What if I told you there’s a way to better way than repeating yourself 2 bazillion times, nagging, yelling and begging your child to pick up their shoes and clean up their toys a bazillion times?

Routines, are essentially repeating the same steps over and over again each day.

For example, every morning has the same steps:

    • wake up
    • get changed into clothes
    • put pajamas in hamper
    • eat breakfast
    • brush teeth
    • playtime

Routines help kids learn what’s expected of the day and give them a sense of security and control when they know what to do. When you don’t have a routine yet, and are teaching your child all the steps of the routine, the best way to master them are with routine cards.

We use routine cards (we used these exact routine cards for girls and these routine cards for boys).

I love that the set has routine and chore cards for when kids are ready for age-appropriate chores and more responsibility. Routine cards were an essential part of all of my kids mastery of their daily schedules and what was expected of them.

Routine cards also help kids be independent without nagging or feeling like the kids aren’t listening.

How Much Sleep Does a Toddler Need?

Every child’s sleep needs are different but typically from 18-months to 4-years-old, the number of hours of sleep between nap and bedtime is in a range of 12 – 14 hours. Some kids may nap longer than others, and some may sleep longer at night than other toddlers.

Aiming for 12 – 14 hours of solid sleep between nap and bedtime is a good goal.

Here is a printable sleep chart (download and print) based on age of the child and breaks down the total hours of sleep between naps, bedtime and estimated bedtimes to help guide you.

Is Your Child Waking up Too Early?

Children who are waking up too early, are generally overtired and struggle at bedtime.  You can translate bedtime battles based on early wake-up times in these areas that may need adjustment:

    • Toddlers don’t need to nap as long (too much sleep during the day means they’ll need less nighttime sleep. This translates into early wake-up times.)
    • The room isn’t dark enough and lets in too much light during the early morning hours (black-out curtains are a lifesaver!)
    • Children’s bedtime and alarm clocks help kids recognize when it’s OK to wake up and get out of bed, or otherwise go back to sleep and stay in bed

More tips on helping a child who is waking up too early can be read in this article.

A child’s daily routine up to the year

“There is nothing worse than the unknown” – this expression is true for parents and for children. Even if now it seems to you that there is nothing more boring than following a daily routine, you should know:

    – daily routine makes parenting easier – you can plan things, attract help and set aside time for your rest;

    – thanks to the predictable order of actions, parents experience less stress and fatigue;

    – children love the routine, they are calmed by predictability – a certain order gives children a sense of security, reduces stress;

    – daily routine strengthens the child’s nervous system and metabolic processes;

    – the mode allows you to set the work of the “internal clock of the body”;

    – mode – the most effective tool for improving sleep.

Researchers found that 72% of children aged 0 to 5 with a regular sleep ritual went to bed earlier, fell asleep faster, woke up less often, had longer sleep duration*

How does the child’s routine change?

An infant’s daily routine changes several times during the first year of life. The baby is born with an undeveloped chaotic sleep, does not distinguish between day and night. We are not talking about the daily routine by the clock, the child lives in his own rhythm of sleep and wakefulness. Gradually, the baby grows, his nervous system and endurance are getting stronger, he can withstand long periods of time without overwork. The structure of a child’s sleep is changing, becoming more and more like an adult’s sleep.

Wake time grows with your baby.

    – Children spend 2/3 of their time sleeping with several periods of sleep and wakefulness. The sleep cycle lasts approximately 40-50 minutes (depending on age) and repeats cyclically.

    – Between the 3rd and 4th month of a child’s life, circadian rhythms are formed. The baby begins to respond to light / dark, external signals (for example, rituals), which helps him to distinguish between sleep and wakefulness.

    – It is during this period that sleep consolidates around the night – children sleep more at night and less during the day; the first glimpses of the regime of the day by the hour are formed.

As the baby grows, the amount of nighttime sleep increases and the amount of daytime sleep decreases:

    – Newborn: 4-6 naps

    – 6-9 months: 3 naps

    – 9-15/18 months: 2

    – 15/18 months – 4 years: 1 nap

For your convenience, all the most important moments at each age, we have put in the table:

    Age 9 0054

SLEEP: important moments in every age
    0-3 months

    – no regime, babies live in feeding regime

    – establishment of breastfeeding – priority

    – it is more convenient to put it down when the mother herself goes to bed (at 22-23:00)

    3-4 months

    – a “sleep window” appears, it is worth fixing the time of nightly bedtime

    – daytime naps remain “unorganized”

    4-5 months

    – night sleep is stabilizing – bedtime and wake-up time

    – morning sleep is recorded – 1. 5 hours after waking up, 2 afternoon sleeps

    5-6 months

    – the first mode, the start time of night sleep in the interval 19:00 – 20:30

    – daytime sleep is stabilizing

    6-8 months

    – follow the daily routine, monitor the sleep conditions

    – for breastfed and formula-fed babies, separate food and sleep

    9-12 months

    – refusal of the 3rd daytime sleep is possible, refusal of night feedings

    – peak of separation from mother + mastering new skills disturbs sleep

    1-2.5 years

    – 2 naps are consolidated into 1 nap, nap time remains the same

    – all food offered before brushing teeth – eating in bed is a bad habit!

How to start building a regime?

All babies are different – with different temperament, pace of development, health characteristics and individual need for sleep. That is why the norms of sleep and wakefulness have such wide boundaries, and the daily routine, which is ideal for one baby, will not work at all for another.

The task of parents is to be observant and choose exactly the mode that will suit your child. Do not forget to change the mode when the baby grows out of it

But how to build a regimen that is right for your child? We suggest not to rush, not to adjust the child to the tables, but to act gradually and thoughtfully.

Below are 6 simple steps to help you build a comfortable daily routine for your child.

    1. Keep records.

. In a series of similar days and without records, it is difficult to remember how much your child slept, what time he ate or fell asleep, how often he woke up.

Recordings will allow you to better analyze the situation, understand whether the child is getting enough sleep, monitor progress, share your observations with a doctor or sleep consultant.

For several days, write down in detail all the important moments of your child’s day:

    • wake up time in the morning
    • bedtime including all bedtime rituals
    • how long does it take for a baby to fall asleep
    • start time and duration of daytime and nighttime sleep
    • number of awakenings
    • as well as other events of the day: feeding, walking, playing, going to the toilet, crying.

    2. Record the time you get up in the morning.

Getting ready for a good night’s sleep is important in the morning. To make the night perfect, start preparing at sunrise!

The best time to start the day is between 6:00 am and 7:30 am. If the baby sleeps too long in the morning, this will negatively affect the entire alignment of the day, as well as the time of departure for a night’s sleep. As terrible as it sounds, wake your child up if they are sleeping after 7:30 in the morning. Please note that wake-ups before 6:00 am are considered too early. If the baby wakes up too early in the morning, this is a signal that the proposed regimen does not suit him, and there is not enough sleep.

    3. Keep track of your wake time.

Find out how much wake time (WB) your child has. This knowledge helps to build the regime correctly and not to miss the signs of fatigue, carried away by business.

Understanding the minimum, comfortable and maximum awake time helps to effectively plan the time of the parents, or at least understand how much time is available from one nap to another.

For example, a mother knows that the child will need to be put to bed in 10 minutes, she will not start preparing a complex dish that requires her attention.

Knowing how long your baby goes awake helps you better recognize your baby’s signals. Especially if he does not show signs of fatigue well or the mother has not yet learned to understand these signs.

It is important to check the wake time every 2-3 weeks and adjust the regimen. Ask yourself every few weeks “has my baby grown up, has his WB changed?”

If we look at the table of wakefulness norms, we will see that the boundaries of the norms are quite wide. Remember that the time of wakefulness throughout the day is unevenly distributed – the shortest WB before morning sleep, the longest WB before night.

For your convenience, we have put all the most important moments at each age in the table:

Focus on the lower limit of normal if:

Refer to the upper limit of normal if:

    – the baby fits into the first daytime sleep,

    – the baby feels bad,

    – the child had a very strenuous activity,

    – the baby had a short sleep, which could not be extended

    – the baby is laid down for a night’s sleep

    – the baby slept through a full daytime sleep (2 cycles)

    – the child is in good health

    4. Form the correct wakefulness rhythm.

All your activities during the day are essential for quality daytime and nighttime sleep.

Go outside in the morning to give your child a daily dose of sunlight. This is necessary for the formation of circadian rhythms and the production of the “sleep hormone” melatonin.

It is important that the child is not too tired during the day. Severe overwork will harm sleep, and it is very difficult for an overexcited baby to calm down and fall asleep. But, at the same time, the baby needs to accumulate the “right” fatigue.

when when the child is awake, the correct sequence should be: 1) after sleep, choose an active activity, 2) then switch the child to quiet wakefulness, 3) conduct a ritual of preparation for sleep and 4) sleep.

Active wakefulness is not only physical activity, but also mental stress, learning new things, including new skills.

    Examples of active wakefulness:

    • walk,
    • practicing any new skill (crawling, walking, finger painting, sorting or pyramiding),
    • new people or people who rarely come,
    • physical interaction with mother or other loved ones – tickling, squeezing, massage, gymnastics
    • participation in “adult” household chores

How does staying awake affect sleep?

    – Physical activity lengthens deep sleep

    – Practicing new skills during the day contributes to their fixation

    – The child receives the necessary dose of sunlight and serotonin, which turns into melatonin in the dark

    – Physical activity “burns” accumulated stress hormones

    9005 7

Quiet wakefulness – it is any normal activity. For example, reading, sorting, transfusion, kinetic and ordinary sand, grits.

How does staying awake affect sleep?

    • Gradually reduces muscle tension
    • Creates predictability by reducing anxiety
    • Emotional intimacy and physical contact with the mother “quench” the need for contact, acceptance and strengthen attachment
    • Switches to inner sensations more than to the world outside

A cool idea for a quiet wake is a sensory box. A large box or bowl filled with sand, grains, balls and small items. Periodically change the contents of the box, the child can dig in it for a long time, shift objects, touch sand or grains.

    5. Choose a time to prepare for sleep rituals.

In the evenings, any house is usually busy. The whole family is together, everyone wants to eat and communicate, noise and light. From this, the baby can be overexcited. And it will be difficult to put him to sleep. To avoid this, start getting ready for bed gradually, at least half an hour before bedtime:

    – close the curtains, dim the lights throughout the house (turn on the bottom light in the house and dim lamp in the bedroom)

    – turn off the music, TV, computer, put away the phone (in addition to noise, they also emit blue spectrum rays that are detrimental to melatonin)

    – turn on “white noise” (recording, special device or toy with white noise)

    – give a relaxing massage to your baby

    – bathe him in a warm bath

    – read a book, tell a story or sing a lullaby

These rituals will help your baby switch from wakefulness, relax and tune in to sleep. Use an abbreviated version of rituals before nap time. It is important that the ritual is liked not only by the baby, but also by the mother.

Even more ideas for bedtime rituals you will find in our ritual generator http://zasypalki.spimalysh.ru

    6. Find the perfect time to go to bed for a night’s sleep – “sleep window”

The time when melatonin The “sleep hormone” accumulates in the blood in sufficient concentration to fall asleep, we call it the “sleep window”. If you recognize the “sleep window” and put the baby to bed at this time, his sleep will be long and of high quality.

In most children, the “window of sleep” should be sought in the early evening, between 18:30 and 20:30 hours. It does not last long, 15-20 minutes.

From birth to 3/4 months: until the synthesis of its own melatonin is established, the child can be laid down at 22-23:00.

Starting at 3/4 months: It is important to calculate your baby’s “sleep window” and go to bed at that time, starting all bedtime preparations 30-40 minutes before this time.

How to find your baby’s sleep window?

Finding a sleep window is easy. The main thing is to postpone all household chores in the evening and turn on observation. The baby will show early signs of fatigue – rubbing his eyes, yawning, freezing, losing interest in the game, asking for a breast or a bottle.

It happens that the baby does not show early signs of fatigue. Then the “sleep window” can be found by the selection method – move the evening bedtime by 15 minutes every 3 days and carefully analyze how the night went.

    CORRECT DAY REGION FOR CHILDREN

The correct daily routine and its timely organization is the key to a child’s health, his easy adaptation to kindergarten and, subsequently, to school . In addition, the daily routine is the basis of education.

A number of changes are constantly taking place in the body of a 1-3-year-old baby, for these reasons it is advisable to change the daily routine. In the interval from one to three years, the daily routine changes three times.
It is important for parents to know that all recommendations are not strict and there are no standards. And the regimen of the child should match the needs of the child. It is impossible to abruptly transfer a baby from one daily regimen to another. This can provoke the child’s negative emotions, the baby will become capricious, due to lack of sleep, frequent mood changes occur, absent-mindedness is formed, and various health problems are possible for the baby.

Baby’s daily routine 1-1.5 years old

In the second year of life, various changes occur in the baby’s body, children get tired quickly, but they do a lot of useful and important things in a day. Toddlers begin to actively walk, use a spoon, begin to pronounce simple words, their vocabulary is constantly replenished. All these activities require large energy costs.

Babies can sleep once or twice a day. The first nap can be 2–2.5 hours, the second nap a little less (about 2 hours). But most often, babies sleep once a day for about 3-4 hours. Before going to bed, it must be washed at least half an hour before going to bed. In order for the baby to sleep well, it is necessary to put him to bed at about the same time for daytime and nighttime sleep. This will help form a reflex.

In the summer, the baby should sleep in the fresh air. It is permissible to sleep on the street, on the veranda, if the temperature permits. If this is not possible, then the baby needs to sleep at least with an open window or window.

Also in the warm season, when daylight hours are longer, the daytime sleep of the child should be a little longer, but the baby should be put to bed at night a little later.

It is necessary to feed the baby 4 times a day with a break of 3.5-4 hours. The baby’s day regimen should line up so that after feeding there is a period of wakefulness, active games, walks, classes, after which sleep is necessary until the next feeding. It is this daily routine that will ensure the normal condition of the baby.
Waking periods between sleep should be 4.5-5 hours. Shortening sleep time or lengthening wakefulness is unacceptable, as this can lead to mood swings, the baby will not be able to fall asleep immediately, his nervous system will be too excited.

During the active period, the child can go about his business, namely to learn about the world around him. The baby needs to be occupied with walks, games or developmental activities.

Great importance is attached to walking with a child. Walks should be done twice a day. It is advisable to walk after lunch and before dinner, and the walking time should be at least an hour. In winter, it can be 1. 5 hours, but depending on the temperature outside in the warm season, walks can be safely increased to 2 hours.

Hygiene procedures are no less important, which should be carried out 2-3 times a week and always before bedtime. A bath relaxes babies and helps them fall asleep more easily. During water procedures, babies need to instill their first hygiene skills. These skills include handwashing, washing, etc. Also, it is from this age that the baby must be taught to sit on the potty and sit next to him until the result is obtained.

Approximate daily routine for a child aged 1–1.5 years

Wake up in the morning at 7.30-8.00.

After waking up, morning baths are necessary.

    Breakfast – 7.30-8.00.

Wakefulness should take place after breakfast and before dinner.

Some children may want to go to bed as early as 10:00-10:30.

After waking up between 12.00 and 15.30, it is necessary to have lunch and be sure to take a walk with the baby.

After a walk, babies should go to bed, and if the baby sleeps once a day, then afternoon naps are preferred.

Waking up at 17.00 is followed by an afternoon snack and a walk, the child is awake until the night sleep.

Before going to bed, the baby must be bathed at 19.30.

    Feed the baby at 20.00.

The baby should fall asleep at 20.30-21.00.

Daily routine of babies from 1.5 to 2 years old

At this age, kids have even more necessary things to do, kids stand pyramids of cubes, participate in the dressing process, buckles on shoes are especially loved. Kids can already drink on their own, while holding a mug or drinking bowl in their own hands. In their games, they use what they see or hear, they can feed their favorite toy or try to comb it.
With the achievement of 1.5 years, even those babies who slept 2 times a day switch to a regimen with one daytime sleep. The duration of such sleep is 3–3.5–4 hours. The share of night sleep accounts for 10-11 hours. It turns out that in total, babies sleep 13–14.5 hours a day.

The child’s diet also remains 4 times a day with intervals between feedings of 3.5–4.5 hours. The interval between feedings, when the baby is awake, should not be more than 3.5 hours.

The toddler is active during wakefulness, is engaged in important and outdoor games, the body quickly uses up energy reserves.

After waking up in the morning, the child should have breakfast no later than one hour later. The same rule must be followed before bedtime (dinner should be no more than an hour before bedtime. Such simple rules will ensure the child has a good active morning and a good night’s sleep.

Further, the periods between sleep increase and should be 5–5.5 hours.Toddlers also devote all their free time to games. It is important for parents to remember about active and cognitive games with the baby.

Children of this age are happy to use various spatulas, buckets, and collect sand “little cakes”. For these reasons, the number of walks with the child remains the same – 2 times, but the order of walks changes somewhat. You can walk with the baby either after breakfast or before lunch, and when you come home, you need to eat and go to bed.

The second walk should be after lunch. The duration of the walk remains the same as for babies 1–1.5 years old, but it is permissible to increase the walk by no more than 20 minutes.
By the age of two, babies should be asking for a potty on their own, but this is not a strict rule. There are situations when kids are passionate about the game and can not always let their parents know about their needs. It is important for parents to know this and not to panic when this happens to their child. Moms should offer the baby to sit on the potty, thereby reminding and distracting him from the game. Be sure the baby should be planted on the potty after and before bedtime.

Approximate daily routine for children 1. 5-2 years old

The baby should wake up at 7.30, as mentioned earlier. Breakfast should be at least an hour later. The optimal time for breakfast is 8.00. Breakfast is followed by a period of wakefulness, during this period you can take a walk or take a child with a useful and interesting game.

At 12 o’clock the baby should have lunch and from 12.30 to 15.30 the baby should sleep.

After waking up, an afternoon snack and a walk follow. In the winter season, a walk can be replaced by family communication at home, and taking a walk with the baby when it is light, i.e. after lunch.

Upon returning from a walk at 18.30, the baby must be bathed.

At 19.30 the baby should have dinner and only after that – a night’s sleep.

The peanut must sleep from 20.30 to 7.30.

Daily routine for a child from 2 to 3 years old

This age period is especially important in the development of the baby, as the child’s independence and creative nature are being formed. Toddlers are already beginning to speak in sentences, often repeating everything they hear around. The speech of the child is gradually approaching the speech of an adult.

Toddlers can independently put on and take off socks, a shirt or a T-shirt, independently ask for a potty, indicating what actions the baby intends to perform.

During this period of time, babies may avoid daytime naps altogether, but it is important for parents to replace this period with quiet games or other activities such as looking at a book or watching cartoons. Such calm periods in the daily routine will help to relax the child’s nervous system and prevent overwork. If babies sleep during the day, then, as a rule, this is an afternoon nap.

Waking periods continue to increase and amount to 6–6.5 hours. For babies who lead a very active lifestyle or for babies who are weak, wake periods can be shortened by about an hour. The periods of wakefulness should consist of a series of active and passive activities, it is this rule that will not allow overwork of the child’s nervous system, since babies are still quickly excitable and can quickly get tired of the same type of activity.

Walking with your baby may increase in the summer. If in winter, depending on weather conditions, walks should not exceed 1.5 hours, since the baby can quickly freeze, then in the warm season, almost all wakefulness and even daytime sleep can be transferred to the street.

Toddlers 2–3 years old have already developed a strong perception of the potty, but it is too early for parents to relax, it is still necessary to put the baby out and offer to go to the toilet, especially on the street when the baby has played too much.

At this age it is important to consolidate the child’s skills, for this it is necessary to praise the child and reinforce it with constant repetitions.

Sample routine for 2-3 year olds

    Wake up – 7.30

    Breakfast – 8.00

Breakfast is followed by a period of wakefulness, until 12 you can take a walk with the baby or engage in useful games or activities.

    Lunch – 12.30

    Sleep – 13.

    About the Provider

Description: The philosophy of our program is based on the belief that children learn best through hands-on experience in an environment where they feel safe and secure. By responding to each child in a consistent and warm manner, the child learns trust. Establishing a bond of trust with their caregivers allows children to explore their world more freely, cope more easily with difficult times, and get along better with other children. We believe that routines are important in a young child’s life, providing them with the sense of security that comes from knowing what to expect next. At the same time, we also realize that working with children means being flexible. Each child is a unique individual, with their own preferences, and their own learning styles. Our curriculum is set up with these things in mind.

More and more in today’s world both parents have employment and need suitable day care centers for their children. These early stages in a child’s life are very important to their growth and development. Choosing a good child day care center is vital, one where the adult won’t just plunk your children down in front of a soap opera all day and feed them Top Ramen. You should look for day care centers that provide learning programs and playtime for your child, along with a safe and healthy environment.

There are many different types of day care centers, ranging from basic nurseries to preschools that will provide more of a learning environment for your children. Some day care centers specialize in a specific age range, while others are more open. When you’re contemplating placing your child in a specific day care center, you should visit each one with your child. In this way, you can see how your child reacts to the other children who are there and to the caregiver. You want your child to be happy and comfortable.

While some day care centers provide a greater variety of activities than others, any good day care center is going to encourage positive interaction among all of the children. They will also have rules that promote good behavior, learning, manners, and child development. You certainly don’t want to have to worry that your child is going to develop bad habits from day care.

Providing the child care and day care services:Day Care Center / Nursery, Child Care Provider

While you don’t need to go overboard in choosing suitable day care centers, you should approach the subject seriously and with thought. Your child is going to be spending a good-sized portion of his or her life in day cares and you want to make sure it is going to be a positive experience. Family is the most important thing in the world and you should make sure that your children are your first priority.
When you are considering a day care center, you should look at where it is located and how much it costs. There’s not much sense in putting your son or daughter in daycare so that you can work full time and spending most of what you earn on the day care center’s tuitions and your travel expenses. If that’s the case, you might as well stay home with your child. However, if you do truly need the money, there are usually plenty of day care services available and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one close by that is reasonably priced.

Different Kinds of Child day Care Centers

While child day care centers are common, there is such a huge demand for this service that there are now quite a variety of options available other than basic day care. These include the following:

    • Home child care or family childcare
    • Child care services
    • Preschool
    • Nursery

Home child care tends to be the most popular option because it is generally more affordable and a smaller environment. While some day care centers are quite large and can provide better early childhood education, it is also more difficult for each child to receive personal attention. Day care centers that are based out of someone’s home are usually more personal and your child can receive more care and nurturing. Most parents want their children to be receiving love and affection, the care that they themselves would give them. They don’t want a day care business that is merely going to make sure that their child is still alive and adequately healthy.

Home child care providers are also more adaptable, generally speaking. This means that if your child likes a certain song sung to them before they take their nap each day, the home care provider is more likely to be willing to do that than someone in a larger day care facility. Most adult home child care providers are parents themselves, making them better able to understand and love your child.

    Other Things to Think About

One of the first steps you should take after picking out a family day care center that you think will be suitable for your child is do a little investigating. This can involve talking to the parents of the other children that use the child day care center to see what they think about it. You should also always check to make sure the child care service you are considering is legally licensed to operate in your state. Licensing officials check criminal records and ensure that the child care provider has emergency response training and a safe and healthy environment for the children.
As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to visit the child day care center that you are considering. You should do this at least a couple of times, and try to go at different times of the day so that you can get a better idea of what kind of schedule they have. This will help you to see how your own child would fit in.
If you are having difficulties finding the appropriate child care environment for your son or daughter, there are some other options. Some people get family and friends to help out, while others hire a nanny. Adult nannies are a good option because they ensure that your child receives personal attention and quality child care. However, this also means that your child will not receive as much social interaction since he or she won’t have other children to play with like in a family day care center.

No matter what option you decide to go with, make sure that you know who you are leaving your child with.  Meet them, get to know them, and let your child do the same. Do some research on the internet to make sure that no one has had negative experiences with the day care center you are considering. Check to make sure that they are legally licensed. Once you have done all of this, you can feel more confident and secure in knowing that you have chosen the right day care center for your child.

    Switching Day Care Centers

    Choosing Another Child Care Provider

So you want to switch day care providers for your kids but you don’t know where to start or what to choose among the plethora of options out there in this world. It is fittingly one of the most important decisions of a young parent’s journey due to the fact that a child’s first formative years up until the age of six is critical. It is important for parents to not just consider the monetary impact of these choices but also the emotional, intellectual, and social future impacts the choice of a day care provider will have on their kids in the long term future. So let’s discuss some general tips to consider for the parent and the child to consider when one is looking to switch day care providers within a short time frame.

First, you must consider the cost of attending some of the more prestigious and rigorous day care provider centers in your area. In some areas, let’s face the reality that the more money per month per child spent; the better the facilities and the educational value experience offered for your child. Things such as using smart boards and I Pad’s to enhance the learning experience is a very real possibility in these places. However, if a parent is budget conscious they can still afford this experience but it would mean cutting back on all or most non-necessity spending. This would include curbing your eating out habits as well as any leisure entertainment or travel activity and place that money instead into your child’s future day care home. If an expensive day care sees that you are making an effort to keep up with the payments; then they will be more willing to work with you and not let your child leave that place. For a child going to this environment, they need to consider whether or not they will fit into this environment, things like playtime, feeding time, and individual care of the staff- is it received well by the child? These will make the difference between choosing these ones or a cheaper alternative. Cheaper is not all bad if the quality and availability of care is there for your child in the first place.

Secondly, you need to consider your travel times and distance of day care relative to your work and other important places like the hospital, grocery store, bank, and places that you frequent on a daily basis. Is it near enough that you can get to your child should he/she become ill or need special attention so that the day care center can contact you and arrange a meeting with you the same day if needed.

Furthermore, you need to consider the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the day care center provider. Do not underestimate a clean environment for your kid to play and learn in with other kids. Your kid will enjoy making new friends in a clean and safe environment. Plus you as a parent will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your child will not be being home any unwanted germs and diseases into your house. Parents must also consider if there is a dispute over payment and care; how does the management and staff deal with such requests? If there is a lackadaisical approach to your core issues; then that is a bad prelude of things to come concerning your child’s care. Your child will probably feel like he/she is being neglected or not fed on time and will start to complain to you ever so slightly that something is not right. When they do, do not hesitate to take them out of that day care center and find another one immediately.

In a recessionary economy, it is okay and permissible for both parents and kids to demand the best care for their dollar. Make your day care dollar stretch by reading all of the material and brochures and visiting every day center on your list until you find that perfect fit for your child. It’s out there; it is just waiting on you to find it!

Child Care Options for Low Income Families

One of the most frustrating aspects of being a working citizen is not having the ability to afford childcare. The majority of day care facilities charge as much as $300 per week for each child. That amount is difficult for middle-class citizens to pay. Low-income families cannot fathom paying such an expense. Luckily, the government and the various states have developed programs that help low-income families get the childcare they deserve. The following is some information on those programs:

    Extended Day Program

The extended day program can assist low-income working parents during the regular school year. Many school districts offer this program. The school keeps children before and after school hours for a small monthly fee. A parent can drop a child off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick the child up as late as 6:00 p.m. This program is excellent for low-income workers with daytime weekday jobs. The cost is approximately $150 per month for before and after school. The weekly rate is approximately $37.50, which is extremely competitive.

The attendants participate in various activities with the children before and after school. They help the children with their homework so that the parents have less stress when they come home from work. They give the children a full breakfast in the morning program and a snack in the evening program. Parents can opt to pay for the morning program only, the evening program only, or both programs. The evening program is the more expensive of the two because it lasts so many hours after the school releases the children. The evening program is $100 while the morning program is $52.

    The Child Care Assistance Program

CCAP is a special program that provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families. People who are collecting TANF are automatically eligible to receive this assistance. Teenage parents who are working on obtaining their educations are also eligible for CCAP. Those who are not collecting TANF can still qualify if they are pursuing education that will improve their work skills and job opportunities. Parents can apply for CCAP assistance with the Department of Children & Family Services. The financial guidelines for qualification are along the lines of a $3,000 per month income threshold for a four-person family. The applicant must have proof of income, social security cards, birth certificates, and immunization records for all children. Application processing can take up to 30 days.

    Head Start

Head start is a program for children between the ages of three and five. The program provides childcare services and medical services to the children who qualify. It is funded by the Administration of Children’s Services. The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a. m. to 5 p.m. Teachers work with the children to fine-tune their social and developmental skills. Those who are interested in the program may apply online. Applicants go on a waitlist until there is an available slot in the program. It is best for an interested person to complete an application as quickly as possible since the wait may be extended.

    Child Care Voucher Program

The Child Care Voucher Program is in effect in many states throughout the United States. It provides a subsidy of up to 95 percent of childcare cost to low-income families. Subsidy recipients will choose an eligible provider from the list of licensed providers. They may also select a relative or an in-home provider. The Child Care Voucher Program covers the childcare from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is known as the traditional childcare period. However, the program also covers non-traditional times for parents who work odd shifts. It covers nights, weekends, and evenings.

Seeking Full-time Or Part Time Nanny Job

    Background Check

Working with children is the greatest honor in the world. For the past 15 years, I have been working hard to maintain a successful career in childcare. I currently work full-time with infants at the JCC of Buffalo in their Early Childhood Center which I love very much. I’m looking to reduce my hoursat the JCC to part-time and work for a family part-time so that I can have a bit of both the nanny world and the daycare world. I love working in the classroom and I also love working directly with families as a nanny so if I could do both I would love that. I am very classroom oriented so I’m looking for families who want their children to have fun, educational activities and a nice rhythm throughout the day! Send me a message if you’re interested in learning more about me. I take childcare very seriously and always go above and beyond! I am most experienced with ages 6 months to 3 years old. Thank you!…

I worked for over a year at St. Timothy’s school as an after school counselor. I also have experience working with special needs children. Some of the daily activities that I facilitated with these children were outdoor playtime, card and board games, and science experiments such as slime-making. We had science lessons that occurred outdoors to get the children excited about learning. I prepared meals for the children and put the younger children down for naps when appropriate. I enjoy spending time with kids, getting to know them, and learning along side them!…

Comprehensive repair work is underway in the kindergartens of the Gazprom dobycha Urengoy LLC preschool departments

warm days in the kindergartens of the Department of preschool divisions of Gazprom dobycha Urengoy, it is time for repair work. For a short summer, it is necessary to have time to prepare objects for winter.

General construction repairs are carried out in all kindergartens of the gas production company. Flushing and pressure testing of heat and water supply systems have already been completed – employees of the Company’s Rotational Camp Operations Department were involved in these activities. Work is underway to replace lighting devices with LEDs. The Emergency Recovery Department helps to restore the original appearance of small and large fences located on the territory of preschool institutions.

Morozko kindergarten is undergoing plastering and painting work.

For example, the roof is being overhauled at the Knyazhenika Kindergarten of the Department of Preschool Divisions of Gazprom Dobycha Urengoy. “While it’s warm, we plan to completely replace the roofing sheet, update the tiles in the catering unit and the laundry room, paint, wallpaper, and also bring beauty to the groups. “Princess” will be transformed, it will become even better. I think preschoolers and their parents will appreciate these changes,” says Veronika Glushchenko, deputy head of the kindergarten for educational and methodological work.

Replacement of lighting devices with LED ones in Knyazhenika

In Zolotaya Rybka, a roof railing was installed, which is necessary to avoid falling during roof cleaning in winter. Similar work is being carried out in all four gardens in the southern part of the city. In addition, laundry machines and equipment for catering units will be replaced: vegetable cutters, dough mixers, plates.

Repair work will be carried out in all eight kindergartens of the Department of preschool divisions of Gazprom dobycha Urengoy

This year, the fight against COVID-19 has seriously affected all areas of people’s lives around the world, including the organization of repairs. All the necessary measures were taken to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection to the contractors before they entered the facility: a 14-day observation and testing, which confirmed that they did not have the disease.

Repair work in the kindergarten “Zolotaya Rybka”

The improvement of the territories of preschool institutions is also actively ongoing. In all kindergartens, during the summer, furniture for children will be replaced – with soft, playful, original models and various colors, it has already been received. And in order for little northerners to grow up healthy, ultrasonic inhalers were purchased.

“The whole range of planned work on the capital and current repairs of kindergartens must be completed by the beginning of the upcoming school year,” explains Dmitry Ptichkin, Deputy Head of the Department of Preschool Divisions. — We are not behind the schedule, we are even slightly ahead of schedule. Of course, the epidemiological situation is also making its own adjustments, a significant part of the employees are currently working remotely. But we are coping, and as soon as the situation stabilizes and it is allowed to accept children, we will do it with pleasure.”

Morozko kindergarten is undergoing plastering and painting work

Every year, for sixteen hundred children, the kindergartens of the Department of Preschool Divisions become a place where they grow and develop, gain knowledge while their parents produce gas.

rights and duties of a teacher – article – Corporation Russian textbook (Drofa-Ventana publishing house)

Children’s summer camps at the daytime school are becoming more popular every year. Accordingly, information about the maximum number of children that can be in a group and how many teachers should be in each group will be relevant for both teachers and parents. We consider the topic of the summer camp from a legal point of view.

    Legally…

To begin with, let’s determine what type of institutions school camps belong to. Let’s turn to SanPiN 2.4.4.2599-10 “Hygienic requirements for the arrangement, maintenance and organization of the working hours in recreational institutions with daytime stay of children during the holidays” (hereinafter – SanPiN). According to paragraph 1.3, “health institutions with daytime stay of children (hereinafter referred to as health institutions) are organized for students of educational institutions during the summer, autumn, winter and spring holidays. Health-improving institutions are staffed from among the students of one or more general education, sports, art schools and other institutions for children and adolescents, are divided into groups of no more than 25 people for students in grades 1-4 and no more than 30 people for other students.

To establish the occupancy rates for groups, you should open another document – Decree of the Secretariat of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions dated May 11, 1990 N 7-22 “On Model States of Administrative, Economic, Pedagogical, Medical, Support Personnel of Children’s Health Camps.” At the beginning of the document, we see a resolution that “The occupancy standards for a detachment (group) of children’s health camps with round-the-clock stay” should be “spread to all types of health camps and labor and recreation camps.” Thus, we understand that there are specific occupancy rates for the school summer camp.

Turning to the second paragraph of the Decree, we find that “The states of children’s health camps are approved by the trade union committees in charge of the camps. In cases where the states cannot be applied in terms of the volume and conditions of work, allow trade union committees to establish additional positions for workers in children’s health camps in addition to those provided for by these Model States.

In the first paragraph of the document of the section “Teaching staff” we see: “The number of educators and leaders (pioneer leaders) is set at the rate of two positions of an educator and one position of a leader (pioneer leader) for each group of schoolchildren aged 10 to 14 years (no more than 30 people) and each group of schoolchildren aged 6 to 9years – 25 people. For every two or three detachments (groups), one position of a substitute teacher (leader or pioneer leader) is established. The first paragraph of the second paragraph of the annex to the Resolution states that “the number of club leaders in the camp is set at the rate of 1 unit per 4 groups with an average occupancy of up to 20 people each, except for dance, choir and rhythm circles, where the average occupancy is at least 30 people. For these employees, a monthly summarized accounting of working time is established at the rate of 3 hours of circle work per day. Pioneer instructors who have the appropriate training to carry out this work can be sent to the camp as leaders of circles on free vouchers.

The number of positions of accompanists in the camp is established taking into account the number of choral, dance and other circles that require musical accompaniment; the time spent by the accompanist on accompanying morning exercises, preparing and holding mass cultural and sporting events. For these employees, a monthly summarized accounting of working time is established at the rate of 4 hours of work per day.

    4. If there is a swimming pool, swimming pool (beach) on a reservoir in the camp, the position of an instructor-methodologist in physical culture and sports is established at the rate of 1 unit for every 4 detachments (groups).

    5. For the organization of tourist work with children and adolescents, the position of an instructor-methodologist in tourism is established in the camp.

    6. The position of the head of the club is established if there is a club in the camp with more than 380 children per shift.

    7. The position of the head of the branch of the mass or children’s trade union library is established in the camp.

If there is a reading room and a book fund of at least 10 books per child in a camp with more than 530 children, an additional 0.5 positions of a librarian are established per shift.

From all of the above, it follows that:

in the summer camp, the group is formed as follows:

    • for students in grades 1-4, the maximum number of people in a group should be no more than 25 people;
    • for students of other classes, the maximum number of people in a group should be no more than 30 people;

the composition of educators and counselors in the summer camp is distributed according to the following principle:

    • there are two teachers and one counselor per group of students aged six to nine,
    • for a group of students aged ten to fourteen, there are also two places for an educator and one for a pioneer leader,
    • Two or three groups of children rely on one substitute teacher.

    What if…

… the number of teaching staff relying on each children’s group does not meet the established standards? – You should write an appeal demanding to eliminate the violation of the law.

    Sample Application

Head of the children’s camp Tikhomirov. I.B.

    From Semenov A.V.

    Statement

Squad No. 3 consists of students aged 6 to 8 years in the amount of 24 people. Clause 2 of the Decree of the Secretariat of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions dated May 11, 1990 N 7-22 “On Model States of the Administrative, Pedagogical, Medical, Maintenance Personnel of Children’s Health Camps” establishes that the number of educators and counselors is set at the rate of 2 positions of an educator and 1 position of a counselor for each group of schoolchildren aged 10 to 14 (no more than 30 people) and each group of schoolchildren aged 6 to 9years – 25 people. For every two or three groups, 1 position of a substitute teacher (leader or pioneer leader) is established.

Currently, there is 1 educator in Detachment No. 3, which is a violation of the current legislation. Please eliminate this fact, because. children’s safety is at risk.

Nevada a ‘child care desert’ report says

A new state report has found that, despite the high demand for child care in Nevada, nearly 75 percent of children ages 5 and younger don’t have access to a licensed provider. (Las Vegas Review-Journal)

A new state report has found that, despite the high demand for child care in Nevada, nearly 75 percent of children ages 5 and younger don’t have access to a licensed provider.

The Governor’s Workforce Development Board voted Wednesday to approve a 128-page child care policy report from its Childcare Working Group.

As Nevada businesses experience worker shortages, the lack of affordable and accessible child care is a major factor, state officials say.

The board voted in December to create the working group because that problem has continued despite “significant financial investment” to strengthen the state’s child care system, according to the chair of the working group, Susan Brager, who is also a member of the Nevada Board of Regents.

The group has met a few times since early January. A copy of the final report will be given to state legislators for the current legislative session.

“Nevada’s economic recovery post-pandemic has bounced back, but Nevada businesses are still struggling to find workers while parents can’t find affordable and accessible child care,” Brager wrote in a letter included with the report.

    ‘Child care desert’

Child care costs are a huge concern in Nevada and are often more expensive than college tuition, according to the report.

Katie Gilbertson, the program development, public policy and community engagement manager for the Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation, told the board it was important to highlight that all of Nevada is a child care desert.

Even people who don’t have children may have a business or know a co-worker who’s affected, she said.

The report also says demand for child care in the state is high, with more than 65 percent of children living in households where both parents work, but where the overwhelming majority — 74 percent — of children ages 5 and younger don’t have access to licensed child care.

During a public comment period, representatives from a handful of organizations — including the Vegas Chamber, Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and Las Vegas HEALS, a health care membership association — expressed support for the state’s work in addressing child care issues.

The report says “sweeping policy changes” are needed so that the state’s child care system is adequate and accessible to all working families.

    Funding audit recommended

The report notes that $571 million in federal coronavirus relief money was allocated in Nevada for child care-related purposes.

One of the policy recommendations calls for an independent audit of the funding that was allocated to the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Welfare and Supportive Services.

“It is unclear how much of each of these funding buckets were allocated, encumbered, spent, what is remaining, and how much, if any, was returned to the Federal government as unspent funding,” the report states.

Board member Robert Thompson, administrator of the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services’ Division of Welfare and Supportive Services, abstained from Wednesday’s vote as the report recommends an audit of his agency.

Recommendations also include using existing public spaces like public libraries, recreation centers, schools and state government buildings to provide onsite child care.

The report also calls for expanding partnerships with local nonprofits, as well as increasing wages for child care providers and eliminating licensing and regulatory barriers.

    Child care survey

The board also heard a presentation Wednesday about the results of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation’s child care survey, which was open from mid-December through mid-January.

The purpose of the survey was to assess the effects of the child care gap on businesses, according to David Damore, interim executive director of UNLV’s Lincy Institute and Brookings Mountain West, who conducted the data analysis.

More than 500 businesses responded, and the vast majority were small businesses, Damore said.

Of the respondents, 47 percent said access to child care is an impediment for hiring and retention, while 21.4 percent said it was a “potential impediment,” according to the report.

The report notes that some employers have taken a “grassroots approach” to offering child care, which includes allowing employees to work from home with their children or having a “bring-your-infant-to-work policy,” similar to a new pilot program recently announced by the Nevada State Treasurer’s Office.

“However, individual business policies are not conducive to every working parent in Nevada,” the report said.

Respondents to the survey also noted there are workplaces that aren’t safe for young children and some employees don’t have a job they can do from home.

Large area, lots of entertainment, restaurants. It won’t be boring, that’s for sure. The most delicious food in the Market restaurant. The beach is large, the entrance to the sea is smooth, clean. There were almost no seaweeds. There are 5 pools. There are enough places, the music keeps the mood up 🙂 There are plenty of drinks in the bars for every taste. During the day, you can have a tasty snack in the mini cafe near the pools. It feels like I came to Vegas, but with a warm sea 🙂 The audience is pleasant. The water park is just being built, so the rating is 4.5

      8.6

      Excellent hotel

Good city hotel. Good for sightseeing, close to shopping malls.

      • Internet8.5

        Good Internet. Average Wi-Fi quality.

      • Position6.9

Normal position. Normal conditions for shopping. Close to the beach, restaurants and bars. Not very convenient access by car, poor parking. Difficult to get to the airport.

      • Room6.5

The room is old, with poor furniture and air conditioning. Dirty, rundown rooms. TVs don’t work well. Spacious rooms with great views from the balcony. The bathrooms are large but the cleaning is not up to standard. Not a very good shower.

      • Service6.4

Average check-in desk, rather competent staff. Excellent child care, friendly staff. Average room service. Cleaning and management leave a lot to be desired. Old, rundown rooms with uncomfortable beds but great views. The booking process is not very well organized. Excellent hotel security. There may be problems with the transfer. Excellent valet service.

      • Breakfast6.3

        Average breakfast.

      • Food5.4

Bad food, poor menu and bad snacks. Inexpensive but dirty restaurant with bad desserts and fruits. Fish/seafood not very fresh. Normal steaks and beef dishes.

    Library

    Dear friend!

Do you like to read fairy tales? In the library you will find the most beautiful, biggest and brightest fairy tale books.

Were you asked to write a message at school? You do not know where to get the necessary information?

Don’t despair! In our library you will find the answer to any question. We have a “sea” of reference books and encyclopedias. And the librarian will help you not to drown in this “sea” and find what you need.

Or maybe you are interested in dinosaurs and Bigfoot, UFOs and space aliens? Here you will find books on any topic.

Are you tired and want to rest? Silence always reigns in the library, and you can comfortably sit in an easy chair and leaf through your favorite magazine or book: about animals and plants, about travel and discoveries, about computers and cars.

            About the Gymnasium

NIGHT “Gymnasium Socrates” is open to children of all ages for the full term of education from grades 1 to 11, as well as for the preparatory period from 3 to 7 years. The presence of state accreditation and license, carefully selected teaching and technical staff, modern educational and recreational facilities provide a high level of training for students to achieve an important goal – the successful continuation of education in prestigious universities in Russia and abroad.

Your child is three years old – it’s time to go to school!

For young children, starting from the age of three, the Socratic Early Development Center operates at the gymnasium, and for students from 5 to 7 years old, preparatory classes are open, in which children learn to read, write, read, math, a foreign language, music, vocals , painting, modeling and other disciplines. A lot of time is devoted to physical culture, hardening and staying in the fresh air with walking and cycling, outdoor games. Future gymnasium students receive homemade meals three times a day, fresh vegetables and fruits, natural dairy products and juices.

Primary school grades 1-4 The first graduates of the elementary gymnasium are now in the 7th grade, with 1 grade added every year. At the moment, younger students are successfully studying in preparatory, 1, 2A and 2B, 3 and 4 grades.

Education in elementary school is conducted on the basis of state general education programs with an emphasis on subjects such as the Russian language, literature, mathematics, foreign languages, computer science, history, the world around.

The primary element of the gymnasium was conceived and embodied as a “full day school”. Our team works from 9.00 to 19.00. For emergencies, there is a duty group.

In the first half of the day, children study in comfortable, cozy classrooms. Each class has a playroom for play during recess and during afternoon breaks. Physical education and sports classes are held in a specialized gym, as well as on 3 sports grounds on the territory of the gymnasium (volleyball and basketball court, tennis court, football field). The territory of the gymnasium allows for cross-country skiing and competitions in winter, and short and long distance races in summer. A choreographic class is provided for choreography classes.

To improve the quality of education in the gymnasium, a small number of classes is provided – up to 12 people. Such a small class size allows you to find an individual approach to each child. In the afternoon, this helps educators do homework with all students, find time for each student to understand the material covered. Children prepare 85-90% of their homework at school.

The teaching staff of the elementary school of the gymnasium consists of professionals in their field, experienced and young, but unconditionally loving their profession, and children with specialized specialized education. Many teachers have been working since the opening of the elementary school. Teacher experience from 10 to 30 years!
In elementary school, teachers work according to the curriculum provided by the Federal State Educational Standard of the IEO, which allows our students to successfully compete with other private and public schools, participate and win in city, district, regional, international intellectual and creative competitions.
