Cathy Regnery “Beauty and the Veteran” – review from Olesya_ booksss
Didn’t like it at all. First of all, the author’s style is too simple, if not primitive. Well, Americans do not know how to write like ours, so that the soul curled up from experiences and emotions, and then turned around. And it’s impossible to convince me. Although translation plays an important role here, which can make a small masterpiece out of a bad book, or vice versa, kill even a quality work. There are, of course, exceptions. I recently read a book and, either the author is really that good, or Semenova proved to be excellent not only as an author, but also as a translator. But here, I think, 50 to 50. And the book is not a masterpiece, and the translation is rather weak. It seems like a trifle, but the word “baby” terribly infuriates me. In the original, as I understand it, it should be “baby”, you can come up with another synonym, but no, our translators return to this condescending synonym with enviable regularity. I think it’s clear that I didn’t like the style of presentation at all.
Laughed from the moment when the hero’s housekeeper made an “advertisement” for the heroine, talking about her family: “Their lawn is neatly mowed, they don’t leave trash cans on the sidewalk at night.” Well, yes, the main indicator of a good family. The plot itself seemed interesting at first. Aspiring young journalist Savannah returns to her home after having problems with her job in New York. He worries, then begins to write an article about a crippled war veteran who lives in their town. At first, she just interviewed him, but gradually, their relationship moves to another stage. Next, about the heroes. In general, the “beauty and the beast” plot is quite common and there are many really good books. But I didn’t like the characters here. Asher… I don’t even know what to say about him. Again, just compare. The recently read book of our author, although it turned out to be too sweet for me, but the main character, an invalid after Chechnya, well, I really liked it, such a chic mixture of masculinity and touchingness. Asher did not hook me, did not touch me, and I did not feel any sympathy for him. Well, the heroine, it’s generally a separate and long song. Her behavior and character absolutely does not correspond to the declared age. Kindergarten is simple, now many teenagers are more consistent than she is. Episode after watching the movie at Savannah’s parents. She decides to return to Asher’s house, while specifying that sex between them is still out of the question.
“Do they like each other? Yes. Is there passion between them? God, what else. But everything else was still in question. She was not his girlfriend and there was no commitment between them. ”
That is, until she is officially considered his girlfriend, no sex. Yes. It’s clear. But further events caused not even surprise, but cognitive dissonance. 3 pages! Detailed descriptions!!! How about “no sex”? Or am I behind the times? Doesn’t oral sex count as sex? But after an accidental reservation of the heroine and confirmation of the hero, everything can be resolved and the traditional option. Asked by Asher why Savannah changed her mind, the most brilliant answer for a grown woman is: “I wasn’t your girlfriend when I came here.” Out. I was directly surprised how the author did not think of another alternative. Well, according to the heroine, everything is possible, except for sex. I just had to specify which one.
In general, this childlike behavior of the heroine and an obvious overabundance of sex began to strain me, so the book was simply flipped through to see the traditional American ChE. In my (I will clarify, very subjective opinion), the book is clearly below average. I remember, in order to interrupt the impression after her, I ate Zhukova’s Marry with Complications. And what? It can also be attributed to the category of “monsters and beauties”, only the execution is much better.
In general, the further development of events related to the article that Savana wrote, quarrel-parting barely bothered to put a tick “Read”.

Dear parents!
One of the measures of social support for the families of citizens mobilized during partial mobilization, having children studying in municipal kindergartens and schools, families of employees of enterprises of the military-industrial complex (hereinafter referred to as the defense industry complex) – the work of on-duty and extended groups in municipal kindergartens and schools in extended mode.
If one (or both) parents (legal representatives) of a child studying in kindergarten or school are employees of the defense industry or were mobilized during partial mobilization and the family has a need for the child to be in kindergarten or school in excess of the established mode of operation of the educational organization, you need to contact the head of the educational organization with a statement. The basis for providing a place in the duty group or in the extended day group in extended mode is:
• for employees of defense industry enterprises – an application from the head of the enterprise, which is sent to the Department of Education of the Administration of the city of Yekaterinburg;
• for families of mobilized citizens – a certificate from the military commissariat of the district (on the official letterhead of the military commissariat, signed by the military commissar and stamped).

Frequently Asked Questions
Introduction
It can be stressful for dog parents to leave their fur babies alone at home while they’re away. They worry about their pooch being anxious, lonely, bored, and destructive. Plus, safety is a concern, along with the fear that their dog will leave unwelcome surprises for them in their home. If that describes you, dog daycare may be the solution.
Doggie daycare can help socialize your pup while ensuring that they have care, exercise, regular potty breaks, and safe supervision. Dog owners who use doggy daycare services provide additional reasons for their choice. It can offer a better quality of life for their four-legged friends, keep homes free of pet messes, and help with canine health and physical fitness.
What is a dog daycare?
Dog daycare is on-site, supervised daily care for dogs. Pet owners bring their animals to the daycare location on their way to work, then return at the end of the day to pick them up. There are commercial doggie daycare facilities and private, in-home options. Commercial daycare businesses usually have more staff and more dog clients than private ones.
What happens at doggy daycare?
Reputable, well-rated dog daycare operations typically offer several activities for the dogs they care for. That includes walks, playtime, naps, dog food, and water. Some providers also offer companionship, snuggles, and special options, such as dispensing medication, grooming, and training. When choosing a doggy daycare, ask about all the available services and whether visits or video observation are available.
Should I take my dog to daycare?
Answers to the following questions can help you decide on doggie daycare services.
Are you away from home for several hours most days of the week?
Does your pup engage in destructive behavior while you’re gone?
Is your pooch crated for several hours every day?
Does your dog walker report issues?
These concerns may indicate the need for doggy daycare.
How much is doggy daycare per day?
Rates vary, depending on location, demand, and competition. But the national average typically ranges from $25 to $40 per day. Half-day rates may also be available. Commercial dog daycare centers commonly charge a bit more than in-home providers. Many facilities offer price breaks on weekly and monthly packages as well as discounts to multiple dog families.
How do I know if my dog likes daycare?
The following are signs your pup likes doggy daycare. She falls asleep on the ride home, exhausted from a full day of activity or she quivers with excitement when you mention the daycare and is beside herself with joy leaving the house. Also look to see if your pup exhibits positive body language at the daycare — like a wagging tail that means they’re eager to see everyone.
How do I prepare my dog for daycare?
They’ll be around other dogs all day, playing and interacting. So, take your pup to a dog park several times for an introduction to dog language with other canines. Bring your fur baby to the daycare to meet the staff before using the service. Plus, walk your pup before drop-off and be upbeat and positive to avoid stress.

child. What is lost from one to three years is replenished in the future with great difficulty, or even replenished at all.
The second and third years of life are a particularly sensitive, sensitive period in the assimilation of speech by a baby.
The development of speech is stimulated by the development, the complication of communication between an adult and a child. If there is little communication with the child, limiting
only caring for him, if there is no rich, varied joint activity of the baby and the adult (which requires more and more
and more verbal communication), then such a child lags behind both in speech and in general development. On the other hand, the lack of speech

he will say what he wants.
We will help develop his coordination of movements, as well as teach the baby to draw and count – we will help prepare him for school!

you will meet, will contribute to the development of speech, memory, artistic taste and imagination of the child.
When you prepare for a job interview, you might rehearse the responses you will give to the questions a potential employer might ask. Just as important are the questions you should ask a potential employer when considering a job position. This is a crucial step in assessing the fit and setting yourself up for success.
The work that you do as a nanny is important. During the interview, it is essential to demonstrate that you value your work and yourself. You teach people how you want to be treated. The key is starting things off on the right foot. These questions will help you to do just that.
Take matters into your own hands. It is your professional responsibility to gather the answers to these questions before you agree to take the job!
Preliminary Questions – Phone Interview
Arrange a quick phone conversation before scheduling an in-person interview to be sure there are no “deal-breakers”. Deal-breakers will be unique to each nanny and family.
Questions to assess common deal-breakers include, but are not limited to:
What is the rate range for this position?
Is this a W2 position?
What is the start date?
What are the hours?\
Is this a short or long-term position?
Is this a live-in or live-out position?
Is this a nanny share position?
In-Person Interview
Along with a copy of your resume, bring a list of the questions below. At the start of the interview, ask if it is alright if you take notes. This will not only ensure all the appropriate questions are answered but demonstrate that you are a serious and professional candidate.
Many families that you interview with have never employed anyone in their home before. Too often nanny work agreements or contracts are an afterthought. These questions will serve as a great start for developing the details of your work agreement.
About the Child(ren)
Names and ages?
Any special needs?
What are the children’s interests and hobbies?
What is your discipline plan or child-rearing philosophy?
Children’s Schedule
Who makes the children’s schedules (parents, nanny, or is setting their schedule a combined effort)?
What’s your procedure for spontaneous activities, outings, playdates, etc?
How do you prefer updates or check-ins throughout the day? If so by text, email, or app and at what frequency?
Do you want a daily record kept of activities, diet, sleep, etc?
Core Values and Religion
What values do you want to be taught and reinforced in your children?
Is religion a part of your daily life?
Do you expect your nanny to participate in any religious teaching or practices (prayers at mealtime, bedtime, holiday practices, etc)? If you incorporate any religious practices or beliefs in the childcare you deliver, be sure this does not clash with the family’s wishes.
Childcare History
What were your best and worst experiences with your previous childcare?
If you’ve had a previous nanny, what did your family like most about the nanny? What did you like least?
May I speak to your previous nannies about their experiences with your family and children?
The Work Environment
Occupation of the parent(s)?
Do you work outside the home or from your home? If the parents work at home, guidelines should be established on the structure of things as this can be a tricky dynamic to navigate.
Are other adults, besides the parents, living in the home?
Is there other household help? If so, who supervises them?
Can you describe your home and the neighborhood?
Do you anticipate moving in the near future?
Do you have a nanny camera? Will you inform your nanny if you get a camera?
Is there a house alarm, gated entry or another system that requires a code?
Household Rules
What are the household rules?
Are any rooms in your house off-limits to children or nanny?
Are guests allowed, such as other nannies and moms with age-appropriate children for playdates?
Are there any other household restrictions due to religion, personal preference, food allergies, or others I should be aware of?
Nanny Specific
Is there any sort of dress code for a nanny at work (i. e., no jeans)?
Will there be a nanny workstation such as a desk area for files, bulletin board, monthly calendar, or computer with a high-speed Internet connection?
Will Workmans Compensation (required in most states depending on the number of hours worked) be provided or have you added a rider to your homeowner’s insurance policy in case of injury of persons paid to be on your property?
Job Responsibilities
How would you describe the “ideal nanny”?
Can you define your idea of your nanny’s role in your family?
What are nanny’s responsibilities as they relate to children?
Are non-child-related tasks and responsibilities a part of the job? If so, how do you define light housework? It’s important to define this in detail. Does the nanny wash only dished used while working or all dishes? Does general tidying mean only messes made while caring for the child or cleaning a playroom that was used when the nanny was not working. What does “cleaning” mean? Is it sweeping, mopping, cleaning toilets, and dusting? Does the nanny job require doing the laundry for the children and/or parents, too? Who makes and changes the children’s bedding?
Who plans the meals, cooks, and shops for groceries? What financial arrangements will be made to facilitate the shopping? Will the nanny cook for the children, parents, or family?
Who purchases the children’s clothes, toys, and supplies?
Will I be expected to take the children to doctor appointments, music lessons, classes?
Will there be any pet duties now or in the future?
Do you plan on having more children?
Will job description change during different times of year/with schedule change?
Transportation
Is a car provided? Is the car available for the nanny’s personal use, or only for use while she is on duty? Will the vehicle shared with the parents? Confirm you are covered on an insurance plan.
Will I be expected to transport children in my own car? This typically requires special insurance as it is considered driving for business (commercial use) rather than personal use.
Who will pay costs for insurance, maintenance, and gas?
Travel
Do you travel? Will your nanny be expected to travel with you? Will your nanny be required to pack the children’s bags for trips?
Do you ever travel without your children, and if so, what arrangements are made for them?
Will your nanny be expected to stay with the children while you travel?
Working Hours
When will the hours fluctuate (summer, holidays) and when are they consistent (regular schedule)? How will the work schedule be communicated (google calendar, email, handwritten) and how much notice will be provided?
Is there a maximum number of hours the nanny wants to work per week
Are there hours that the nanny will not work
How much advance notice is required if the hours change. If the nanny is not okay with staying late, this boundary should be established during the interview.
Compensation
Before discussing salary and benefits, it is important to differentiate sitters and nannies. Nannies can preface the discussion by explaining that this work is a career choice. Emphasize that you are serious about your job, having invested in training and reputable credentials to provide quality childcare and that you count on a regular paycheck to make a living.
Hourly Rate
What rate are you offering?
How often will I be paid, and by what method? Is a payroll service used?
What is the rate for overtime, overnight or weekend work, or 24-hour duty?
Is there a guaranteed minimum pay or guaranteed hours?
Will you compensate for unexpected days off that nanny does not initiate. This may include when grandparents come to town and parents giving the nanny time off or parents take the children to visit relatives.
Benefits
What days are paid holidays and paid time off? Confirm the nanny chooses their own vacation days rather than being required to use vacation time when the family takes vacation days.
How many paid or unpaid sick days are allocated? What is the backup childcare plan if the nanny is sick or on vacation?
How many professional days can the nanny take for childcare related classes and conferences? Will the family provide an annual stipend for continuing education and if so, how much?
Do the position come with a gym membership, health insurance, IRA, or retirement benefits
Work Agreements and Annual Review
Express how important communication is between nannies and their employers. Confirm that the family will support a written work agreement and at least an annual update of the work agreement (download an example nanny contract).
Are you willing to meet with me on a regular basis so we can discuss how things are going including 1 month after the start date, 3 months after the start date and then annually?
Will there be a standard 1-3% annual cost of living raise?
Will there be a merit raise raise at annual review?
In the event of the birth of another child, will there be a rate increase?
Will the nanny receive severance pay if terminated early?
Can we have a paid trial or working interview with the child(ren) before the work agreement is signed?
Questions for Live-In Nannies
What accommodations are provided (room, bath, etc. )? If a separate apartment, how will grocery expenses be handled? Who is responsible for cleaning the common areas and to what standards?
How will days off be respected/protected?
How do nanny’s activities on her day off affect the household’s flow?
Will you cover moving expenses upon accepting and completing the position?
While this is a comprehensive list, there are many other questions you may want to ask. This list provides you a great starting point. If during the interview, anything the potential employer says is unclear, do not hesitate to ask for them to clarify or elaborate. Problems and resentments arise when assumptions are made. Good luck with your interview!
The Top 10 Questions to Ask Parents Before Nannying
Published: 10/22/2019
When discussing nanny interviews, the focus is often on the questions that parents ask the nanny candidates. However, a nanny’s questions to the parents are just as important to ensure a healthy and happy work environment.
Here are 10 top questions that nannies should ask parents during the nanny interview process to determine whether the job is a good fit.
1. What Duties Are You Looking for a Nanny to Perform?
Nannies are versatile professionals who provide a wide variety of services depending on the needs of the family and nanny’s skills. In the initial job interview, you will want to get a clear idea about what this specific job entails and what is expected of you to ensure that you will enjoy those tasks and do well at them.
2. Can You Describe Your Child’s Normal Routine and Schedule?
Every child has a different routine, so it’s important to get to know an approximate schedule of what you’re working with in a new potential nanny job. Get a good sense of when the children wake up, when they go to school, and what activities they are involved in.
3. How Do You Like to Spend Time with Your Children?
Another one of the top questions to ask parents before nannying is how they spend time with their own kids. This question will give you a sense of how much time the parents and children spend together and what activities are important to the family.
4. What Health Concerns Do I Need to Be Aware of About Your Children?
This is a great question to ask to understand special needs that a child may have, such as food allergies or conditions that require medication. Understand how active the children are and if you will need to administer medicine.
5. How Do You Discipline Your Children?
Since every parent has a different theory on discipline, it is your job as a nanny to understand this and follow the parents’ wishes. Many conflicts between parents and nannies arise because of conflicting discipline strategies.
6. What Are Your Preferred Ways to Communicate?
Whether it’s phone calls, texting, emails, or written reports, find out how the parents prefer to communicate so that you’re always on the same page.
7. What Housekeeping Duties Do You Expect from a Nanny?
As you know, nannies are not housekeepers, but some light housework is expected of most nannies. Find out if parents want you to do the kids’ laundry, dishes, or other household tasks.
8. How Involved Would You Like a Nany to Be with Teachers, Family Events, Etc.?
Some parents give nannies full authority to talk to kids’ teachers and even invite nannies to family social events and vacations. Meanwhile, other nannies play more limited roles in families, so you’ll want to know the situation with this particular family.
9. What Are the Typical Work Days and Hours for the Nanny Job?
Ask questions about the practical nature of the job, such as what days and hours you’re expected to work. Also ask if you are expected to be “on call” or work overtime hours upon request. These are among the most crucial questions to ask parents before nannying in a new home.
10. Have You Had Previous Nannies, and If So, Can I Contact Them as References?
This question can be awkward to ask, but it is an important one to get first-hand knowledge about how these parents are as employers. If parents have had prior nannies but refuse to provide their contact information, it could be a sign of a poor working relationship that could affect you in the future.

Recently, the profession of nanny has become more and more depreciated. Everyone who is not too lazy wants to “sit with children”, not only having a special education, but also educational skills. Some consider this option of work, having got into a hopeless situation. Going through all the news about cruel and inadequate nannies in my head, mothers become very scared to make the wrong choice.
However, sometimes situations develop in such a way that you have to drive into the search engine “an urgent need for a nanny in Almaty today!”.
Pandaland understands the confusion of parents, so he prepared a list of 10 important rules for choosing a nanny.
“Nur-Sultan Nanny Recruitment Agency” or “Find a Nanny in Almaty” – the search for nannies begins with these queries in the search engine. Parents leaf through the profiles of candidates / candidates, read their characteristics, study all the ins and outs and then schedule an interview. If you have already identified several candidates, then go straight to the acquaintance. And do not forget that you need to think in advance what questions to ask the nanny at the interview.
If you are going to interview more than three candidates, it is recommended that you interview on two consecutive days. Thus, you will not forget your impression of each of them and without a doubt choose the girl who really deserves this job. But if the meetings are held with a break of several weeks, it will be difficult to give an objective comparative assessment.
First, it is desirable that the nanny be registered in the same city where you are. When talking with the agency or when choosing a nanny yourself, specify that you are only interested in nannies in Almaty or another city. If someone responded to your offer of “baby nanny in Almaty”, then he / she should understand that you need a nanny from this particular city.
Second, don’t hire a girl who lives 1. 5 hours away from your house as a nanny. After all, you may need urgent help, you may need to leave somewhere. Of course, this item is suitable for a babysitter, and if you plan to arrange it for yourself, the girl’s place of residence is of secondary importance.
Agreeing with the advice of a colleague or neighbor on the floor above, you may encounter 2 main problems. Your idea of proper upbringing and that of the advising mother may not coincide. If it is acceptable for their family that the nanny eats from the same plate as the baby, this will seem at least strange to you. Acquaintances can also make mistakes or embellish reality in order to help some other neighbor / colleague / “nice street girl”. Therefore, if you decide to turn to your surroundings for advice, then let them be your best friends or relatives. And even if the future nanny has good references, it is still necessary to conduct a full interview with her.
Appearance and manners you can notice right away. And if a girl causes the strongest irritation, no one forces her to hire. But other candidates should make a careful selection – a detailed list of questions that interest you is useful for this. Past work experience, whether you have your own family, what is the most difficult case at work, what requirements are unacceptable for her, whether she knows how to cook, and so on. The more detailed your checklist is, the easier it will be to assess the chances of each interlocutor. Ask everyone the same questions to make it easier to compare the girls to each other.
Of course, an experienced nanny of pre-retirement age knows and has experienced a lot. But its main disadvantage is that it is the “universal” experience that can cause constant disagreements. You yourself will not notice how not only your baby, but adult family members will be raised. How to dress for a walk, what to feed for dinner, when to get vaccinated, how to swaddle properly, and so on. Not every mother wants to listen to the moralizing, albeit an experienced, but someone else’s woman. Of course, we do not suggest hiring inexperienced female students. You should not go from extreme to extreme, it is best to find a middle ground.
Remember that your child’s safety comes first. It is necessary that the nanny bring certificates and test results regarding dangerous, skin-venereal and psychological diseases. You also need to find out if the woman has other health problems that affect her reaction and activity. Agree that a nanny who will get tired very quickly on a walk is unlikely to be able to provide full-fledged care to your child. And, of course, the health item is necessary so that your assistant does not have to take time off several times a week to improve her health.
If your family attaches great importance to learning languages, then do not refuse a nanny with good knowledge of Kazakh/English/Russian. Practice is the best method of learning. So be sure to add information about this important knowledge to the list of questions. Agree, it will be a great advantage for a nanny to be able to organize leisure activities and games for a child in several languages.
Have you ever heard of a stress interview? A person is asked illogical, strange questions, to which he must answer without hesitation. Try this same method. Ask your future nanny how she will behave during a tearful childhood tantrum. Does she have a trick on how to persuade a child to eat an unwanted dinner … If she cannot even verbally come up with answers to these questions, then she will most likely be confused in reality.
Invite the candidates you like to get to know the child. Pay attention to whether the nanny washed her hands when entering the apartment. How does she communicate with the child, does she give the baby the opportunity to get used to herself or does she begin to lisp emotionally with him? In the second case, this is most likely a demonstration performance specifically for mom, so beware. Cold indifference also looks strange: how can a nanny and children spend the whole day together if she absolutely does not want to please him?
If on the day you meet you tell about what kind of an angel you raised, and the next day the kid smears a bowl of porridge on the girl’s new blouse in a minute, you will not look your best. All children have the right to their own behavioral patterns, but the nanny should be aware of them. Therefore, do not play cat and mouse with the candidate you like, but honestly tell everything as it is. Trust must be mutual, and you want to trust her, don’t you?

When parents decide to hire a nanny for their child, the important step is the interview. The safety of the baby and the peace of mind of parents at work depend on its quality. How to properly prepare and conduct an interview with a potential nanny?
First of all, you need to arrange a suitable time and place for the interview. It is recommended to choose a family home so that the nanny can get acquainted with the conditions of the child’s stay, his habits and receive useful recommendations from the parents. This will also provide an opportunity to assess the attention and responsibility of the candidate on the spot.
Do not forget to also ask questions about how the nanny will spend time with her ward, what games and activities are planned for the day, how she helps children resolve conflict situations and how she approaches their upbringing.
It is important to allow time and open discussion about views on child rearing and care practices to find out if they are in line with family values and parental requirements. It is also necessary to discuss the work schedule, salary and working conditions so that both parents and the nanny expect an honest payment for the work done.
It is important to remember that the interview is not the only criterion for selecting a candidate. It is also necessary to check references from previous employers, check documents and schedule time to communicate with the child in the presence of a nanny. Only then can you make the final choice in favor of the right candidate and be sure of the correctness of your decision.
How to Interview a Babysitter: Helpful Tips for Parents
Finding the right person to care for a child is not an easy task. After all, we hand over into the hands of a stranger the most precious thing we have – our children. That is why it is so important to conduct a quality interview with a potential nanny. In this text, we will tell you what questions to ask and what to look for when choosing a nanny for your baby.
1. Check work experience
The first and most important question to ask is babysitting experience. Ask how many children she raised, how old these children were, and how long her stay with the family was. Also check if she has any education or certifications in childcare.
2. Determine the work schedule and salary
Specify what hours and days of the week babysitting is possible, and what is her salary. It may be necessary to discuss the possibility of working on weekends or holidays. It is also important to understand how you will pay for babysitting services – by the hour or in a row, and what delay conditions may arise.
3. Discuss child care requirements
Explain to the babysitter exactly what your child care requirements are. Specify how often and in what form you expect progress reports. What house rules should not be violated, and what should be the baby’s daily routine. Feel free to ask additional questions related to your child and provide positive feedback.
In addition to the above questions, you can ask the nanny about her favorite games and activities with the children, her approach to discipline, requests or restrictions that your children may have. The main thing – do not forget to leave your contacts after the interview and, if necessary, organize a trial day with the nanny and your child to make sure that this is exactly the person you and your family need.
Interview Objective
One of the most important tasks in interviewing a nanny is to ascertain her knowledge and skills in working with children. It is important to ask open-ended questions that allow the nanny to reveal their experience and share information.
The task of the interview is also to make sure that the nanny is ready to perform not only childcare duties, but also other possible tasks. She must be ready for emergencies and be able to solve problems if necessary.
It is important to remember that the interview is a mutual process. During the conversation, you can also establish contact with the nanny and understand what tasks she will be interested in performing and in what direction to develop.
Importance of experience
Experience is one of the key factors when it comes to choosing a nanny for your child. Parents should be sure that the nanny has enough experience in caring for children to ensure their safety and comfort in their absence.
Experience can also help the nanny to better understand the needs of the child and be able to respond to their changes. For example, an experienced babysitter may notice that the child has begun to cry frequently and realize that this may be due to teeth or illness.
As a result, parents should ask nannies about their experience with children to make sure they have the skills and knowledge to care for their child.
Questions about your little one
When you’re looking for a babysitter for your little one, it’s important to ask the right questions. Pay attention to the questions about the baby to make sure the nanny is ready to take care of the child at the proper level.
How will you feed my baby? – It is important to find out if the nanny knows how to feed the baby in different ways and if she is ready to follow your instructions. Also make sure the babysitter knows how to handle bottles and nipples.
How do you put your baby to sleep? – Proper sleep is essential for a baby, so make sure the babysitter knows how to put the baby to bed and is prepared to follow your sleep schedule.
How do you handle diapers and nappies? – Notice how the nanny changes diapers and towels. Make sure the babysitter is discreet and ready to change baby diapers and nappies as needed.
How will you play and take care of my child? – Make sure the nanny knows how to spend time with the child and is concerned about their development. Also find out if the nanny is ready for space and play activities.
Whatever questions you have about your baby, feel free to ask the babysitter. It is important that you make sure you take care of your little one while you are away from him.
Questions about previous babysitting
Reviewing babysitting experience can help parents understand if a candidate meets their expectations. Some questions about previous work to ask at an interview might include:
How long did you work at your previous job? This question will allow you to understand how stable the job of a nanny was in the past, and whether she is ready to stay for a long time in a new family.
What tasks did you perform at your last job? This question will help you understand how experienced she is in childcare and what skills she has gained.
Why did you leave your previous job? This question will help you understand the reasons for the dismissal of the nanny from her previous job and how responsibly she takes her duties.
In addition, it is also worth asking questions about achievements and excellence at work, how communicative she was with her previous employers and co-workers, and whether she had conflicts at her previous job and how she dealt with them.
Following certain principles during the interview process will help parents to fully assess the candidacy of a nanny and make the right decision. The main thing is not to forget that the questions should be correct and polite, and it is recommended to conduct an interview in an atmosphere of trust and understanding.
Babysitting Terms
Hours of Operation: Before hiring a babysitter, parents should discuss their work schedule. Some families may require a full day at work, while others may require only a few hours a day.
Payment: Parents should discuss childcare pay. The amount of pay depends on many factors, including the experience of the nanny, the number of children she will be caring for, and her work schedule.
Responsibilities: Before hiring a nanny, parents must decide on her responsibilities. Some nannies will only take care of the children, while others may take care of cooking, cleaning and other household chores.
Responsibility: Parents should make sure that the nanny takes on some responsibility. This may include their safety, health and education. Parents should also discuss who will be in charge in case of emergencies.
Vacation: nannies should be entitled to leave and sickness like all employees. Parents need to make sure they are prepared to handle childcare in case the nanny gets sick or needs time to rest.
Remuneration
When hiring a nanny for your child, an important component is remuneration. The cost of a babysitter may vary depending on various factors such as experience, educational level and geographic location.
If you are hiring a full-time nanny, you may want to consider setting a monthly rate to dictate your monthly budget. If the nanny works for several hours a day, then setting an hourly rate will be a more convenient option.
Don’t forget about benefits like paid time off or the ability to use your car while you work. All these factors can affect the cost of babysitting services and their convenience in work.
It is also important to keep in mind that, in most cases, nannies expect their wages to be paid in cash. Before starting work, it is necessary to clarify the wishes of the naimun and make an agreement on which payment method you are working with.
The nanny’s pay agreement must be clearly and clearly stated in the contract between you and the nanny. This will help avoid conflicts in the future related to payment for services.
Nanny’s work schedule
One of the important questions to discuss when interviewing a nanny is her work schedule. It is necessary to clarify how many hours a day and a week she is ready to work, what days of the week she is free, and whether it is possible to work on weekends.
In addition, it is important to discuss the flexibility of working hours. For example, what if the parents are late at work, and the nanny has to leave already? Is it possible to stay a few hours longer and how will it be paid?
It is equally important to find out what duties will be performed during the babysitter’s working hours. If the child goes to school or nursery, then the possibility of picking him up from there and meeting him after class should be discussed. Discuss the food that the nanny will prepare for the child.
Of course, the successful choice of a nanny and her long-term cooperation with the family will depend on a clear agreement on the work schedule.
Attitude towards discipline
When conducting an interview with a nanny, it is necessary to pay attention to her attitude towards discipline. It is important that the nanny is ready to follow the rules that are established in the family.
She must be able to set boundaries and control the behavior of children, preventing them from misbehaving. It is important that she be ready to punish children fairly if they break the rules.
A nanny should understand that:
Discipline is not only making rules, but also keeping them;
Demandingness is not cruelty, but concern for the health and development of the child;
Punishment is not a punishment for bad behavior, but an opportunity to improve and learn from your mistakes.
If the nanny lets the children do whatever they want and fails to set boundaries, this can lead to the child’s misbehavior.
It is important to pay attention to the nanny’s attitude to discipline at the interview stage to ensure that she is prepared to ensure the safety and proper development of your child.
Babysitting tasks while working with a baby
1. Caring for a baby. The main task of a nanny is to provide comfortable conditions for a child. The nanny should be able to properly feed, change, bathe, massage and dress the baby.
2. Child development. A nanny can be asked to participate in the development and upbringing of a child. The nanny should provide the child with the opportunity to engage in educational games and expand their horizons.
3. Carrying out hygiene procedures. The nanny should monitor the condition of the baby’s skin, control the process of emptying and provide the child with the necessary hygiene.
4. Outdoor walks. A nanny can take walks with the baby on the street, provide him with the opportunity to communicate with other children and get positive emotions.
5. Power control. The nanny should monitor the baby’s nutrition and control the time of eating. Depending on age, a baby may have different nutritional needs.
6. Baby’s sleep. The nanny should be able to put the baby to bed and provide him with comfortable conditions for rest. In addition, the nanny should monitor the duration of the baby’s sleep.
7. Baby animation. A nanny can be asked to play games and various activities with the baby so that the baby is interested and not bored.
Responding to Difficult Situations
Inevitably, the nanny will encounter some difficult situations when working with your child. They can range from small issues to major crises, but when things go wrong, it’s important to remain calm and professional. Such situations can even show how well the nanny is suited to work with your child.
If the nanny has a difficult situation, she should let you know within a day. You should find out all the circumstances and make sure that your child is safe. Support the nanny so that she feels that you are on her side. Discuss how to ensure that such an episode does not happen again in the future.
Conflicts between a nanny and a child can be extremely difficult to resolve. If your child does not want to obey the nanny or feels uncomfortable in her company, you can try to calmly communicate with the child and find the reason why this is happening. Then, you can discuss with the nanny the possibility of changing the method of interaction or options for replacing the nanny.
A nanny may be faced with various situations, for example, if your child decides to go outside alone or decides to draw on the walls. It can help to create clear rules and discuss a plan of action in such cases. Establishing such rules can help prevent similar situations in the future and ensure more efficient babysitting.
What to look for when choosing a nanny
When it comes to choosing a nanny for a child, parents should pay special attention to a number of factors. The first place is to check the experience of the nanny with children, her ability to ensure the safety and comfort of the child.
Parents should also pay attention to the personal qualities of the candidate. It is advisable to choose a nanny with a kind and patient character, able to find an approach to children, be attentive and caring.
In addition, it is necessary to establish her work schedule, place of residence and health – be sure to clarify the presence of chronic diseases.
An important aspect is checking for references from previous employers. Review resumes, potential candidates can provide their recommendations, but you can also call previous employers yourself.
And, of course, you should pay attention to the price of babysitting services. It is almost always more profitable to choose a nanny whose price is not much higher than market standards, but who does her job properly. Another important point is a detailed conversation with the nanny about all possible professional tasks and the nuances of her work in practice.
How to Check Nanny References Before an Interview
1. Review Portfolio and Testimonials
Before inviting a nanny for an interview, read all references and testimonials provided to her by previous employers. Explore her work experience, skills, accomplishments, and anything else that might be included in her portfolio.
2. Contact previous employers
You can contact the nanny’s previous employers and get all the details about her work. Ask about her quality of work, responsibility, punctuality, communication skills and other important qualities.
3. Interview the nanny
When interviewing the nanny, ask questions that will help you learn about her experience, skills, qualifications, and other important qualities. Be attentive and interested in her answers, do not forget to ask clarifying questions.
4. Trust your intuition
Finally, be attentive to your inner feeling. If you have a feeling that something is wrong, then it may be worth refusing to cooperate with this nanny. On the contrary, if you get a positive impression from her recommendations and at the interview, then this may be the right candidate for you.
How to find out if a nanny is right for your family
Choosing a nanny for your child is a very important and responsible step. But how do you choose the best one for your family?
Evaluate professionalism : pay attention to work experience, letters of recommendation and certificates. It is important that the nanny is experienced and well trained.
Check Reliability : find out if the nanny has any complaints or warnings from past employers.
Match your work schedule : make sure the nanny is available and can work the days and hours that work for you.
Invite to a meeting : in the process of communication, you will be able to understand how the nanny relates to work, whether she has practical suggestions and how ready she is to work in your family.
It is important to discuss all the details and working conditions in advance in order to avoid possible conflicts in the future. This is the only way you can choose the best babysitter for your child and your family.
Organizing the work of a nanny and working mother
Plan ahead
To avoid stress and unnecessary running around, it is recommended to plan the day in advance. Discuss the schedule with the nanny, ask what tasks she is ready to perform, and how. Also remember to plan your activities, such as how much time you spend commuting to and from work.
Organize the process of communication
To keep abreast of what is happening at home, agree with the nanny on how to communicate. Create a group in the messenger where you will discuss all issues related to the child. Discuss the rules of communication and encourage the nanny to report all incidents related to the child immediately.
Be sure to make a plan for the day/week
It is important to plan the week in advance and distribute tasks between the nanny and the mother herself in order to organize working days and spend time with the child. Set a task for yourself, for example, spend time with your child on the weekends to replace the nanny. Write down all the cases and control the process of their implementation.
Supervise the babysitter’s work
Pay attention to the babysitter’s work so that the child is comfortable and receives attention and care. Try to communicate with the child and the nanny when you return home and ask how they spent their time. Pay attention to the cleanliness and order in the house, check the completion of tasks and make comments if something does not suit you.
The above tips will help to organize the work of a nanny and mother-worker, create comfortable conditions for the child and ensure the efficiency of tasks. The basic principle is planning and control, so be sure to keep an eye on babysitting and your schedule.
How to resolve conflicts with a nanny
Hiring a nanny is an important choice that can lead to conflicts. But it is much more important to learn how to resolve conflicts that will inevitably arise in the process of a long-term relationship with a nanny. This implies a clear understanding of how to act in a critical situation and what methods to use in order to avoid a complete collapse of cooperation.
The first and most important rule is to avoid conflict. It is worth exploring all the points that can provoke misunderstandings and immediately discuss them with your nanny. Listen to her opinion and try to understand why she thinks the way she does. It is important to understand that you are a team and decisions must be made together.
If a conflict does occur, the direct approach is recommended. Express your feelings and emotions clearly and clearly, but don’t get irritated or overly emotional. Find a compromise position that will allow you to achieve a common goal and keep your job with the nanny in the future.
It is also important to make sure that communication with the nanny takes place on equal terms. Never forget that a nanny is a team member just like you. Use soft but clear methods to resolve conflicts and improve communication in the future.
Feel free to ask questions and communicate openly and directly with your babysitter;
Listen to each other, try to understand the nanny’s position;
Choose the right words so as not to offend each other;
Do not forget about your obligations and the contract with the nanny.
And remember that conflicts are not a reason to stop working with a nanny or change her to another. Be flexible, patient, and respectful in your communication, and you can keep your job with the nanny that suits you.
How to organize a relationship between a nanny and a baby
Choosing a nanny for our baby is a responsible step, and it is very important that a good relationship develops between the nanny and the child. A new person in a child’s life can cause anxiety and doubt in parents. That is why it is necessary to organize the process of acquaintance and communication with the nanny so that the child and parents feel comfortable.
It is important to explain to the nanny the basic rules and requirements that you have for caring for your child. This will not only protect the baby from trouble, but also reduce your anxiety.
We should not forget that a nanny should not only take care of the child, but also play with him and teach him new things. Watch how the nanny communicates with your baby and what games he plays with him. If you notice something strange, talk to the nanny, explain how you want the nanny to behave in your absence.
Finally, talk to the babysitter regularly and ask about any problems. If you notice that something is not going well between the nanny and the child, you need to figure out the reasons and think about replacing the nanny. The health and well-being of your baby depends on the nanny, so approach the selection process with special responsibility.
How to monitor babysitting
Finding a reliable babysitter for your child is wonderful. However, as with any hiring, it is necessary to monitor the performance of the nanny to ensure that she is doing her job to the best of her ability.
Communicate regularly. Contact the nanny at least once a week to find out how her days are going with your child.
Check for documents. Make sure that the nanny has documents confirming her qualifications, work experience and no criminal record.
Follow the schedule. Agree with the nanny about what days and hours she will work, and follow her punctuality.
Ask for reports. Ask the nanny to keep a record of what she and your child did during the day. This will not only help you keep track of her work, but will also be useful for the child when he grows up.
Do not forget that you are responsible not only for choosing a nanny, but also for her work. Follow these simple tips to make sure your baby is safe and cared for.

WHAT STEPS HAVE YOU TAKEN TO ENSURE THE SECURITY AND SAFETY OF THE CAMPUS?
We place a very high value in the security of our campuses, and every effort is made to ensure that Heritage Preschools provides a safe and secure environment for children and staff. Every Heritage campus is equipped with high definition cameras on a DVR system, the ProCare Software® biometric fingerprint scanners for secure check in and out, and coded keypads at multiple points of entrance. Additionally, Heritage Preschools uses a Raptor data security system. This system assists our front office personnel by screening visitors using data received from their submitted drivers’ license.
IN WHAT WAY ARE YOU A CHRISTIAN CHILDCARE CENTER?
Founded by Christians, Heritage Preschools believes that our purpose is to come alongside parents to cultivate students who are rooted and grounded in Christ, His love and His Truth so that they may continue to grow and flourish in every area of life for God’s glory. Toward that end, Heritage Preschools is directed by committed Christian leadership and hires Christian teachers who are eager to set an example that faith is for all of life. We are non-denominational and hold to a conservative set of beliefs about God and the Bible. This is all lived out through Heritage from our unique approach to child care, to stewardship of facilities, to choice of curriculum.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE YOUR TEACHERS?
With prayer and careful screening! Many of our teachers come to us by word of mouth through the Christian community. Each is interviewed by the campus director and administration. The candidate must have a credible Christian testimony and be a member in good standing with his or her church. Directors consider a candidate’s education, training and experience, and only hire individuals they believe will bring significant value to their school.
WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING IS REQUIRED FOR YOUR TEACHERS?
All teachers must be fingerprinted and pass the background clearance through the Alabama Department of Human Resources as well as participate in continuous training throughout the year. Although many of our teachers have degrees, we do not require a degree to be a teacher at Heritage Preschools (with the exception of Kindergarten teachers). Upon hire, new teachers must go through 5 days of training with the campus’ Classroom Coordinator and Training Specialist, and then work under an experienced Lead Teacher for further hands-on training in the classroom. Heritage Preschools also provides and requires mandatory training days for all staff to ensure continued excellence in childcare.
DO YOU PROVIDE MEALS AND HAVE A MEAL PLAN FOR STUDENTS?
We provide nutritious, hot meals for students at breakfast and lunch. Afternoon snacks are served after nap and during the late afternoon. The meal plan is included in the price of tuition and is served to all students beginning in our Infant 3 class.
HOW DO YOU PROTECT THE HEALTH OF STUDENTS AND STAFF?
At Heritage student health and safety is our number one concern! Not only are our facilities kept clean and sanitary, but we place a strong emphasis on personal hygiene for both staff and students. We also focus on running a “well-child school.” The Heritage Preschools Medical/Sickness Policy is outlined in our Enrollment Packet and further shows how we safeguard students and staff from illness.
WHAT TYPE OF CURRICULUM DO YOU USE?
Abeka is one of the premiere Christian curriculums used by private educators for the last forty years. It provides a comprehensive Biblical approach to teaching academics and character. This advanced curriculum pairs perfectly with Heritage Preschools’ philosophy of education and classical approach to learning, providing students with the foundation for academic success.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE CHILDREN’S CLASSROOM PROMOTIONS?
When a teacher sees that a student meets the milestone goals for the classroom and is in the appropriate age range to move up, the teacher will complete a Request For Promotion Form. This form alerts the administration that the student is eligible for promotion due to age and ability. Administration then informs the parent that the child is ready for advancement to the next class.
WHAT CAN I DO TO ENSURE A SEAMLESS TRANSITION FROM HOME TO CARE AT HERITAGE IF I AM BREASTFEEDING MY INFANT?
We recommend introducing a bottle to your infant at least two weeks prior to starting at Heritage. By no means does this mean that you must strictly use a bottle when at home! We strongly support the decision a mom makes when she commits to breastfeeding. However, because we strive for the best possible care for your baby, we encourage as much consistency as possible between home and school.

Social rights of the child. Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Text
Share
The social rights of the child is a set of social benefits provided to a person who has not reached the age of majority. Social rights relate to the relationship of society and children and help to defend their interests, which are associated with life in the society of other children.
Social rights cover the widest area of life, including education, access to information, health care, a decent standard of living and conditions for healthy growth and development of the individual. In modern times, it is difficult to imagine that even a hundred years ago there were no documents fixing the rights of children, since children belonged entirely to their parents, and it was they who decided what to do and how to act, how to live, where to study, etc. P.
Convention on the Rights of the Child B 19In 89, the General Assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The Convention is an international legal document that spells out the rights of children, the document consists of 54 articles, which spell out the rights of children in detail.
Article 28 of the Convention guarantees free primary education to every child and requires all UN members to encourage the development of various forms of secondary education and make it accessible to all children.
An important part of the education system is the upbringing of children, as the Convention requires that steps be taken to recognize the full responsibility of both parents for the development and upbringing of the child.
Every child’s parents or guardians should be responsible for the child’s upbringing, and the best interests of the child should be their primary concern.
Article 20 defines the tasks of raising and caring for children who have lost their parents, so when considering options for replacing parents, it is necessary to take into account the desirability of the continuity of the upbringing of the child and his ethnic origin, as well as his religious and cultural affiliation, his native language.
Article 21 defines the rights of children who may be adopted in other countries.
Article 29 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is important in securing children’s right to education.
It presents the priorities for all participating countries of the goal of public education of children: to develop the talents, mental and physical abilities of the child to the fullest; to cultivate respect for the native culture and parents of the child, for his language and the values of his people, the country where he was born; foster respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, as well as the principles proclaimed in the Charter of the United Nations; prepare the child for a conscious life in society in the spirit of tolerance and equality among all citizens of the state; develop respect for the environment.
In the Russian Federation, the main act on the rights of children is the Federal Law of July 24, 1998 N 124-FZ “On the Basic Guarantees of the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation”, in addition to this, the rights of children in the country are regulated by the Family Code of the Russian Federation.
The Family Code of the Russian Federation is a normative legal act that regulates relations within families in the country, the Family Code includes 8 sections.
In the 21st century, the social rights of the child are not much different from the social rights of adults, children must receive education, the necessary medical care and care.
Social rights enable every child to grow up as a harmonious personality.
Every child who is born becomes a citizen, every child has the right: to life and freedom, no one, including parents, can deprive him of his freedom; in the name, each child must have a name and a passport if the child has reached the age of 14; to affordable education and free medical care; on their own opinion and freedom of choice of religion; parents should take care of the physical and mental health of the child; care and material support from their parents; every child has the right to a family, to their care and attention; upon reaching the age of 16, the child, with the consent of the parents, has the right to part-time work and independent labor activity; to protection from violence and the right to live in safety; for leisure and recreation; to protect their personality, honor and dignity from any kind of exploitation and violence: economic, sexual, political, spiritual, moral, physical, psychological.
The state guarantees every child freedom of thought and speech, the right to have their own views and interests, the right to choose their own way of life, the state must protect the personality of the child, his honor and dignity, the child has the right to seek help from the commission for minors and guardianship authorities in in case of violation of his rights and personal integrity.
The child is obliged to respect the historical and cultural heritage, identity, language and other values that are the property of the Russian Federation, children are obliged to respect the rights and dignity of other people, to show a humane attitude towards them.
The Federal Law “On the Basic Guarantees of the Rights of the Child in the Russian Federation” also provides for several measures to protect children: protection from information that may harm the child and his moral development – propaganda of violence, non-traditional relationships, pornography, alcohol and smoking; stopping the exploitation of child labor, supporting victims and their families; protection of children who have found themselves in a difficult life situation, orphans, children with disabilities, children from large and low-income families, refugees.
The social rights of the child are a set of specific rules fixed in the Constitution and allowing guaranteed to receive certain benefits from the state.
Thus, every child has the right to education and the provision of accessible information for study, the right to social security and health protection, to a decent standard of living, which is necessary for the physical and moral development of a person, if the child and his family find themselves in a difficult life situation , then such a child has the right to protection and assistance from the state.

New app aims to revolutionize the family experience!
Our Blog: March 7th, 2022
SproutAbout®is our innovative solution for making your classroom connection even stronger. Right now, parents and teachers at three of our schools are among the first to explore all the incredible features and functions the app has to offer. And so far, they’re impressed:
“I love having everything in one place.”
“I absolutely love this app.”
As busy, working parents, we know you don’t want to miss a thing while you’re away. We want you to see every light bulb moment, chat easily with school leadership, and share cute photos and videos (in that proud mama or papa bear kind of way). That’s where SproutAbout comes in!
Our proprietary new family communications app ensures you’ll get each update and stay informed about your child’s early education and care. It was developed for you, by you! This app sprouted from the ground up (see what we did there?) based on honest feedback and guidance from our parents and educators. It’s exclusive to our child care families and it’s getting rave reviews:
“I like being able to send messages straight to school leaders.”
“Commenting on specific activities is great!”
“I love that the cameras are integrated now.”
As with anything, we want to start slow and make sure everything is perfect before we release SproutAbout to all 1,000+ centers in our Learning Care Group community of schools.
Our rollout plan will expand soon! Watch your email to know when SproutAbout will be available to download for YOUR school and get ready to stay in the know and ready to grow with us!

CAPS Online Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
CAPS Online is an online platform for child care providers to record and submit daily “time in and time out” attendance for each child. The platform launched on September 1, 2021.
CAPS Online allows you to report daily attendance according to the time each child arrives at and departs from your program. This is consistent with NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations for maintaining daily attendance records already required for all providers.
How Can I Access CAPS Online?
You can access CAPS Online via desktop computer, smart phone, tablet, or laptop. Access to CAPS Online is not limited to a computer. You do not need special software on your electronic device. All you need is an up-to-date Internet browser. We support the latest browser versions of Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.
You can use a computer, smart phone, or tablet device to record attendance.
Where Can I Get Help With CAPS Online?
You can register for training or access training materials.
For live help, you can call the CAPS Online Helpdesk at (212) 835 7610, and press * (star).
What are the Benefits of Using CAPS Online?
No Paperwork: Without paper attendance records to submit, you will be able to submit attendance electronically, eliminating the need for printing and mailing. You can maintain your attendance records electronically. This will eliminate the cost of paper and postage as well as the costs for storing your paper attendance records.
More Accurate and Faster Payment: CAPS Online will reduce errors in recording attendance, which will allow for payments to be processed faster since there will be fewer errors, and no trips to the post office to mail attendance sheets that could be delayed or lost in the mail.
What If I Have an Issue With Electronic Capabilities?
You can access CAPS Online via a smart phone, tablet or laptop. Access to CAPS Online is not limited to a computer. Electronic submission of daily time in and time out attendance will be processed much quicker resulting in receipt of your monthly voucher payments sooner.
You can contact the Voucher Payment Unit (VPU) if you do not have a smart phone, tablet, laptop, or PC at 1-212 835-7610, listen to the prompts and press #, to discuss your issues with CAPS Online.
If it is established that you cannot access the internet using a computer, tablet or smart phone, then you will be required to complete an application to be considered for the paper process. A paper ACS-2 form will enable you to enter daily time in and time out attendance per month for each child in your care (one form per child). We will mail these forms to your address on file. You will be required to mail all completed forms back to VPU for processing (and ensure proper postage). Any errors on the forms will be returned to you by mail for correction, which will delay processing. Receipt of payment will be much slower with the paper process.

Attendance Submission for Payment Policy
In accordance with state child care subsidy regulations [18 NYCRR 415.5(a)(4)], New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is implementing a new policy effective July 1, 2022 regarding the submission of a bill and documentation of child care services for the processing of payment by ACS.
Effective July 1, 2022, child care attendance, including corrections to attendance, must be submitted by a child care provider or program within 6 months after the month of service to receive payment by ACS for subsidized children enrolled with the child care provider or program. If attendance is not submitted within those 6 months, the child care provider or program may forfeit payment for those services.
For example, if a provider or program seeks payment for any day in March – including attendance for the service month of March corrections to attendance, or other reimbursements for March – these documents must be submitted by no later than September 30, which is 6 months after the end of the March service month. If attendance is not submitted by that date in accordance with standard fiscal procedures, the child care provider or program may forfeit payment by NYC ACS for child care services.
Attendance Maintenance Policy
By regulation, child care providers and programs must also maintain onsite daily attendance records with time of arrival and departure for each child and/or notation of full day absences for each child. In accordance with ACS policy, providers and programs should also record program closure days in CAPS Online or the ACS-2 attendance forms. The ACS-2 will enable time-in/time-out reporting on paper.
Children should not be marked as absent on attendance records, either via CAPS Online or the ACS-2 form when there is a program closure.
Reimbursement for Absences Policy
In accordance with state child care subsidy regulations [18 NYCRR 415.6(b)(4)], New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) will pay child care programs and providers for up to 80 days per year during which an enrolled child is absent from care. Implementation of this policy is retroactive to April 1, 2022.
This policy applies to all programs and providers rendering child care services to families in receipt of child care assistance. The 80 days per year will reset on April 1st of each year or when a child enrolls with a new program or provider.
To drop a child’s enrollment, the parent/caregiver, program or provider must notify ACS at 212-835-7610 or the program or provider must drop the child’s enrollment using CAPS Online.
If an enrolled child is absent for over 80 days since April 1st, there will be no payment for that child.
Per state child care subsidy regulations at 18 NYCRR 415.6(b)(5), reimbursement is not available for a day a child is absent from care if the provider ordinarily charges the caretaker on a daily or part-time basis and the child for whom reimbursement is requested is otherwise in need of and receives subsidized child care from a different provider on the same day.
Children should not be marked as absent on attendance records when there is a program closure.

What is a workplace review and how do you know you need one?
A couple of pieces of recent research caught our attention here at Worklogic:
HRM reported on some recently published research which found that most people would do just about anything (including leave their job) rather than have difficult conversations at work. A majority of the 500 USA based research participants reported having avoided an issue or a person for at least 6 months (and in some cases more than 2 years), and that nearly 50% of participants considered leaving (37%) or did leave their job (11%) to avoid having to deal with a difficult issue.
It’s an easy shot to blame front line and middle managers for poor morale, high turnover and stifled innovation. But the second piece of research that caught our eye, from Harvard Business Review, found that there are structural reasons why managers don’t encourage their staff to voice ideas, or raise problems, when it would be beneficial to them and their organisations.
They found that managers face two distinct hurdles: They are not empowered to act on input from below, and their reward systems mean they feel compelled to adopt a short-term outlook to work.
Combine these research outcomes with “the ice berg of ignorance”, and we have a difficult situation in which employees know what the problems are, but would rather not raise them, and while supervisors and middle managers have a greater visibility on problems than senior executives, they often do not feel authorised to address the issues and end up simply doing whatever it takes to just get through the week or the month.
My colleague Grevis Beard recently wrote about our own research on the 12 dysfunctions of a team, including things like gossip culture, unprofessional conduct, poor management style and unhealthy competition. I imagine it was read by many with a knowing nod and a knot of frustration in the forehead.
Not only do these problems make for unhappy teams, they cost – either directly through things like poor customer service or high turnover, or indirectly through ineffective or inefficient systems and processes.
The people who know what the problems are, won’t or can’t speak up, and those with the power to address the problems don’t know they exist.
What to do when things are not quite right?
So, what do you do, when you know there is a problem, but you’re not sure what it is? You don’t have anything formal to act on, but you have a sense that things are “NQR” (ie not quite right).
There are a few options:
Run an employee opinion survey? Meh – they take too long and can be prone to bias or non-completion.
Set up a suggestion box? How very 1980s.
Produce your own workplace version of “Gogglebox” or “Undercover Boss”? Interesting, but not very feasible.
Conduct a Workplace Review? Tell me more, I hear you say.
What is a workplace review?
A workplace review is an independent, qualitative and quantitative research project with employees, leaders and sometimes stakeholders or customers, to constructively and proactively explore and understand workplace problems, risks and opportunities to improve morale, efficiency, functioning and ethics of a team. It is an opportunity for team members to provide feedback based on their perceptions.
The ultimate goal of a workplace review is to identify practical interventions you can take, to make real improvements.
Worklogic’s approach to conducting a review:
We start by understanding your areas of focus. We are commonly asked to explore the employees’ experiences of supervision, organisational purpose, accountability, recognition, teamwork, trust, communication, leadership and culture.
Our consultants interview your staff (and sometimes selected stakeholders) and give them the opportunity to provide their perspectives and experiences in the workplace.
The information obtained from this process provides an accurate insight into the employees’ experience of the workplace, and what is stopping them from performing at their best.
Where relevant, our consultants also review your HR statistics, incident reports and policies.
We then provide independent, practical and actionable advice about the steps you can take to improve workplace culture, reduce risk, and improve productivity and compliance.
Worklogic is independent, perceptive and practical. We find out what is really going on, and show you how to address problems, minimise risks and improve everyone’s experience of the workplace. This is why clients trust us with this important work.

What Is a Performance Review?
What Is a Performance Review?
A performance review is a formal assessment in which a manager evaluates an employee’s work performance, identifies strengths and weaknesses, offers feedback, and sets goals for future performance.
Performance reviews are also called performance appraisals, performance evaluations, or employee evaluations.
What Are Common Goals for Performance Reviews?
Performance reviews should help employees understand:
What they’re doing well
How they can improve
How their work aligns with larger company goals
What is expected of them in the future
Most managers use performance reviews to recognize high performing employees, correct performance issues before they become insurmountable, communicate expectations, encourage growth and development, and foster employee engagement.
Performance Management Made Easy
Inspire, motivate and develop your employees with BambooHR. Our comprehensive and flexible Performance Management solution helps you automate review cycles, gather 360 degree feedback, and track growth goals.
Do Most Companies Still Host an Annual Performance Review?
While many companies maintain an annual performance review cadence, it’s no longer standard. Today, more companies are embracing frequent feedback. Managers conduct quarterly, monthly, or even weekly reviews.
In fact, some organizations are doing away with formal performance reviews altogether. Instead, these organizations favor more casual manager check-ins and one-on-ones.
What’s a Self Evaluation Performance Review?
A self evaluation performance review invites employees to reflect on their work, skillset, and areas of improvement.
Self assessments help to balance a manager’s feedback. If there are major discrepancies between a manager and employee’s evaluations, human resources can provide additional support and mediation.
Self Assessment Tips for Employees
If you’re preparing for a self assessment, try using the following tactics:
Prepare notes. Document any topics you want to discuss, such as your strengths, weaknesses, and long term goals.
Brainstorm examples. Be prepared to share concrete examples of how you have met goals set at the last review and how you’ve improved overall.
Self-evaluate. Practice self-evaluation by giving yourself a mock performance review. This exercise will help you identify new strengths, weaknesses, accomplishments, and goals.
Come with questions. A performance review should be a safe environment to ask questions. Preparing questions ahead of time can help you seek answers for any pressing challenges or issues.
For performance reviews to succeed, managers and employees alike should come prepared to discuss and reflect together.
However, managers have the authority to substantially affect their employees’ careers—so it’s their job to facilitate a civil and productive conversation.
Here are seven topics managers should avoid to keep things constructive:
Criticism Without an Example: Giving an example and providing ideas for improvement can help an employee better their performance rather than leave them feeling defensive.
Comparisons: This is not a space to rank employees or pit them against each other. Focus only on the performance of the employee you are evaluating.
False Praise: While you should look for something positive to say in every performance review, giving false praise will only mislead an employee into thinking they are doing better than they are and rob them of the opportunity for improvement.
Speculation: Sharing rumors about the company or raising hopes for a raise or promotion that may not be possible causes unnecessary speculation and sometimes disappointment.
Repetitive Commentary: Some important things bear repeating, but if you find you are giving the same advice and same praise in every performance review, try changing things up. Maybe the message isn’t getting through in the way you are currently sharing it and needs further discussion. If both managers and employees keep notes of what’s talked about in performance reviews, you can build off of advice and goals from each meeting rather than rehash the same thing over and over again.
“Always” and “Never”: There’s an exception to every rule. Ultimatums and blanket statements are rarely accurate and can make people feel defensive.
“I Wish I Had More Time”: Performance reviews should be a priority for managers and employees. They help make sure everyone’s personal goals are aligned with the company’s goals and give valuable insights on ways the employee and the manager can improve. When performance reviews are put first, the entire company can benefit.

Workplace ergonomics
REQUIREMENTS, NORMS, RULES
In today’s world, ergonomics is a science that uses theoretical knowledge, principles and innovative methods to develop solutions that can increase comfort, increase human performance, optimize the workspace, where there is a constant interaction between a person and control and management systems.
Work consoles offered by EXOL are created to ensure maximum efficiency, optimize the workspace, provide the operator with additional benefits, such as the ability to take different body positions during the working day, change the viewing angle when observing processes on monitors, quality assurance in accordance with international quality and reliability standards, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and many others, to achieve maximum success in the work performed.
After the decision on the organization of the workstation has been made, the first step is to understand what workstation is best suited – completely free from any systems except for small devices and KVM modules, or, conversely, able to fit all the client’s equipment.
After the choice is made in favor of a certain workplace, we will help you select and configure the necessary accessories for maximum efficiency of the workplace / control room, including: ergonomic chair; lighting systems; cabinets for documents or for placing office equipment; other auxiliary equipment.
Selection and adjustment of accessories help to make the operator’s work more comfortable, but, from our point of view, this is the final stage. It is worth starting a project to create a workplace first of all with the size of the room in which it is planned to place the console. The standards of Russian GOST 12.2.032-78 and the general rules for labor protection when working with computers or European documents (ergonomics requirements according to UNE-EN 527: 2011, design according to ISO 11064) will come to the rescue.
It should be noted that the SanPiN standards, developed back in the days of the Soviet Union, and which have survived in working form to this day, place higher demands on the organization of the workplace than European ones. Thus, the norm of free space (“the place of free movement of the operator on the chair”) for the European requirements for the direct seat of the operator is at least 1.5 sq.m., while according to the Russian requirements, minus the table area, it is about 3 sq.m. and more.
DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT OF JOBS
In its work, the EXOL company takes into account all the requirements coming from the Customer, taking into account both European and Russian standards. Workplace complexes developed at the same time have sufficient free space that meets all requirements:
Another equally important factor is the way the monitors are located at the workplace. If at the design stage it becomes clear that a lot of monitors are planned, we will offer a solution for arranging monitors in one or more levels. If during the discussion of the technical needs of the Customer it becomes clear that the monitors cannot be placed in width properly in compliance with the requirements of the norms, the project manager will try to suggest a way out of this situation. For example, he will be asked to expand the workplace to the optimal width or consider other configurations that will combine the correct location of the equipment with the conditions for its competent operation.
Finally, for control rooms, an important factor is the combination of monitoring both the processes on the screen closest to the operator of the monitor / monitor system, and the processes displayed on the video wall, requiring the concentration of attention of all personnel on duty shift. When organizing such solutions, it is also important to pay attention to the layout of the entire hall, since the reliability of the SCS system becomes extremely important. Any violation in it can lead to a stop in the normal operation of the system as a whole. Thus, developers should take this fact into account when choosing solutions for organizing workplaces.
And, of course, you can choose the optimal place for round-the-clock work: fixed in height, or with a variable tabletop height in the range of 725 – 1225 mm, which is consistent with both SanPiN 2.2.2.542-96 for the operation of a PC operator in the position ” sitting”, and with the provisions of various GOSTs for the work of personnel in the “standing” position in various fields of activity. Thus, the benefits of a workplace with the ability to adjust the height are simply invaluable: firstly, such a design makes a person move as often as possible, changing the position of the body (and after all, Movement is Life!), and secondly, such a workplace is the most comfortable way can be adapted to the height of a person, which for a shift consisting of two or more operators working 24/7 will be more than in demand! It should also be noted that a number of European standards determine the need for such a solution if the operator’s work shift lasts more than 6 hours.
Thus, each of EXOL’s solutions meets the 3 most important ergonomic requirements: lead to a loss of concentration, and, as a result, can affect the efficiency of work in general.
Ease of access: all the necessary actions while the operator is at the table are performed by him without any extra effort. In addition, the high-strength material of the table surface allows you to install auxiliary consoles (control panels) and place additional equipment in them, which will free up the main space of the table, solve the problem of the need for constant tidying up: twisted and tangled wires, stacked in a bunch of control systems that need to be constantly correct and put in place. It also provides a higher level of reliability in the operation of the entire system, as it eliminates the possibility of cable runs and loss of signals controlled by the operator.
Posture Support: The height, tilt and depth adjustment of the desk chair and monitors allows the operator to change postures without compromising work efficiency.

What to see in Key West – TOP 19 attractions
The long and stunningly beautiful Overseas Highway connects Key West with the Florida mainland. The road stretches to the Canadian border in Maine, but the most scenic section of the Great Way (Great Way) is considered to be a segment from Miami to the Florida Keys. Even if you arrived here by plane, you should definitely rent a car to go on a magnificent journey along the highway stretching above the ocean waves. This trip is sure to be one of the best things to do in Key West, even if it takes a full day.
Although located on the bustling and busy Duval Street, this conservatory is almost always quiet and peaceful. A tropical oasis, among which bushes bloom and fragrant, about 20 species of exotic birds flutter and more than 60 species of the most beautiful butterflies in the world, makes a stunning impression. Showcases with caterpillars and pupae are also located here – it will surely be very interesting for children to see all the stages of transformation of these insects. The Conservatory has a small souvenir shop where you can buy something to remember this piece of paradise.
The lighthouse was built in 1848. His main task was to guide ships along the fairway, which was difficult due to coral reefs and numerous shallows. Later, the building was repeatedly completed and modernized, and in 1969 a museum was opened in it. Its exposition consists of things and photographs of former lighthouse keepers. The exhibition is located at the very top, where visitors can climb 88 steps.
The trip to the islands of the Dry Tortugas Reserve takes a full day, but it’s definitely worth it. Deserted beaches with white sand and noisy surf, kayaking among tropical greenery, diving and snorkeling on coral reefs will be remembered for a long time. The trip to the national park by ferry takes about 2.5 hours.
Another, faster way to experience the wildlife of the Dry Tortugas is by air. Small seaplanes depart from Key West International Airport. The flight passes over the entire Florida Keys and allows you to see sharks, dolphins, rays and turtles in their natural habitat.
The USCGC Ingham Maritime Museum is located on a Coast Guard cutter. The ship was on duty from 1936 to 1988 and took part in many wars. Now the ship is moored on the Truman waterfront and is not only a maritime museum, but also a national monument. If you are interested in the history of the US Coast Guard, a visit to this unique ship should definitely be on your list of things to do in Key West.
Basilica of Saint Mary of the Star of the Sea is one of the oldest churches in Florida and considered the oldest Catholic church in the Archdiocese of Miami . In 1743, two Italian Jesuits erected a chapel on this site, but were soon forced to leave the country. In 1852, the parish of St. Mary the Star of the Sea was founded here.
The quaint architecture of the basilica combines Victorian and Neo-Renaissance elements. The snow-white hall of the church makes an indelible impression, and nearby, among tropical greenery, there is a grotto in which statues of Our Lady of Lourdes and Bernadette are installed.
Higgs Beach is one of the best sunset spots in Key West. This is a public beach and admission is free. Clean sand, ocean surf and lush palm trees along the coast will provide an excellent opportunity for a serene holiday throughout the day. And in the evening you can admire the sunset from the pier. There is also a small green area near the sandy shore – the Key West Garden Club. It is located on Atlantic Boulevard and is free.
On the territory of Higgs Beach there is a restaurant and several eateries, a children’s playground and toilets – there are all conditions for vacationers. The only thing to consider when planning a trip is a large number of tourists during the winter months. Especially a lot of them gather in the late afternoon.
Audubon House is a beautiful estate built in the middle of the 19th century for the legendary captain John Huling Geiger. He became famous for organizing an effective defense against pirates who chose these waters. Now, a museum has been opened in the spacious mansion, which displays a collection of unique antique furniture and other attributes of the luxurious life of the aristocratic families of Florida.
The museum got its name from a large number of lithographs colored by the naturalist John Audubon. Another interesting attraction of the estate is the tropical garden surrounding it, where many exotic plants are collected.
The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum is dedicated to exciting treasure hunts. The central part of the exhibition tells how Mel Fisher managed to find the largest treasure in history. Found gold, jewelry and artifacts were valued at over $ 450 million – such prizes have not been received by any treasure hunter. The museum also presents other, less expensive treasures, mined at different times from the sunken Spanish galleons.
The Rum Distillery was Key West’s first distillery. Visitors will be able to take a tour of the entire territory of the Legal Rum Distillery and get acquainted with the technology of making the drink, and for free. But the most interesting part of the tour is, of course, the tasting of different varieties of rum and snacks prepared with it. In addition, those who wish can take part in a master class on mixing mojito cocktails. At first glance, it seems that children should not be taken here, but this is not so. They will be offered a lot of entertainment in a special area and will be treated to original snacks.
Smathers Beach is deservedly considered the most popular beach in Key West and one of the top most beautiful places in North America. White sand, gentle surf and many shady recreational areas attract people of all ages. It is unlikely that in Key West and its environs there will be a second such a picturesque beach, combined with all the amenities – from food stalls to umbrellas, chairs and sun loungers that can be rented for any amount of time.
Mostly people come here for a quiet pastime and walks in the picturesque surroundings. But on the beach there is something to do for outdoor enthusiasts. The list of entertainment includes riding catamarans, kayaks and jet skis.
A visit to Nancy Forrester’s Secret Garden is sure to be the most fun adventure in Key West for the whole family. This magical place will definitely appeal to children.
