Criminal Background checks uncover a variety of important information that can prove useful to employers looking for quality employees. Through a background check, you can receive information on an applicant’s criminal history, such as felonies and misdemeanors, along with an Identity Check to ensure they are who they say they are. Another component of pre-employment screening is credit checks, which can help you better gauge a candidate’s financial responsibility, such as spending habits and level of debt.

What does an employment background check show?
People often wonder what actually shows up on a background check. The answer is that it depends on which type of search you order, since there are several different sets of records and data to pull from. Generally speaking, a background check for employment may show identity verification, employment verification, credit history, driver’s history, criminal records, education confirmation, and more.
Employers gather a wealth of information in order to evaluate a candidate’s character and help protect against the wrong hire. Read on to learn the various types of background checks for employment, what they may show, and why they matter.
What does a employment background check consist of?
Although there are many different types of background checks, employers are usually concerned with the top three searches. The most common pre-employment searches include:
1. Identity and Social Security Verification
By searching extensive databases such as the Department of Homeland Security and Social Security Administration records, a background check for employment can show whether or not a Social Security number is valid, who it belongs to, and if it’s been used in the past.
Online identity checks may also be used to verify an address, which can be cross-referenced to the information provided by a job applicant to detect inaccuracies.
2.
Credit Report
Credit reports are prepared by credit bureaus who collect information from a variety of sources. For example, credit card companies and financial institutions furnish data to credit bureaus, who in turn maintain records on consumers.
Although credit reporting agencies do not necessarily have identical information, the general categories of information that show on a background check include:
Identifying Information Credit bureaus can provide identifying information such as name, date of birth, and address.
Credit Inquiries
Employment credit reports contain a list of past credit inquiries, identifying retailers, financial institutions, and other lenders that have requested a consumer’s credit report.
Tradelines show accounts established with lenders. It could include the date the account was opened, the type of account opened (mortgage, auto loan, credit card, etc.), the loan amount or credit limit, the account’s current balance, and the borrower’s payment history.
Public Records Credit reports may show previous bankruptcies.
Credit reports can reveal many potential warning signs in an applicant, especially if your new hire will regularly be handling money. High levels of debt or excessive spending on assets could indicate financial irresponsibility.
3. Criminal Records
If an employer knows—or should have known—about an employee’s relevant criminal background, they may face negligent hiring claims if the employee is accused of further wrongdoing. The information that shows up on a criminal background check may help safeguard business owners by revealing histories of criminal convictions.
Criminal background checks for employment may show criminal offenses at the county, state, and federal levels.
Various offenses which may be reported include:
Current pending charges
Misdemeanor convictions
Felony convictions
Acquitted charges
Dismissed charges
Employers should take caution when evaluating what shows up on this form of background check for employment.
Depending on the type of job employers are hiring for, they might require additional information from their candidates and ask for more information on their background check for employment. Further searches include options such as motor vehicle and driving records, employment history, education verification, reference checks, and drug screening.
Why does it matter what a background check shows
The consequences of making the wrong hire are staggering. According to a recent CareerBuilder survey, almost 27 percent of U.S. employers said that just one bad hire has cost their company more than $50,000.
The U.S. Department of Labor supports this claim; according to their reports, the cost of the wrong hire can add up to at least 30 percent of the individual’s first-year earnings. Depending on the position’s salary rate, this can easily exceed tens of thousands of dollars. Why are these costs so extensive Termination expenses. You may be required to pay additional healthcare expenses and, in some cases, face litigation expenses should your ex-employee choose to take legal action. Having to replace a bad hire can also be expensive; you’ll likely need to provide training courses, employment testing, orientation services, and more.
So how do modern business owners get a more complete picture of their job applicants to avoid a bad hire
There are several different pre-employment screening services that employers may use when trying to make a hiring decision, and what shows up on a background check will vary depending on which service is chosen:
A traditional background check company may provide a wealth of information including military records and license verification. Although they may be thorough, these packaged services are usually costly and time-consuming, forcing small business owners to pay for exhaustive background checks that may not be necessary.
Online people searches are a do-it-yourself form of background checks that show public information obtained online. Employers may type a job candidate’s name into a search engine and check for results on business pages or social media sites. While these searches are usually free, such types of background checks consist of information that may be unreliable, out of date, or out of context.

Getting a more complete picture of your applicant’s financial background can help you better determine the risk. You may decide to have stronger financial criteria for applicants who will be regularly handling money, and a credit report can be useful in determining the financial trustworthiness of your applicant.
Employers often use credit history to gauge a job applicant’s level of responsibility, but good money habits can also be important to specific categories of companies and positions. Does the position in question involve the handling of money Will your hire have access to the company’s sensitive financial information Knowing whether a candidate manages their finances responsibly can help you determine if they’ll handle your company’s finances responsibly as well.

What Do Employers Look For In A Background Check
Many professionals pass difficult job interviews, only for employers to ultimately reject their applications due to what was found during a background check.
With all the time and effort you put into every other aspect of the job-search process, it’s also prudent to learn what a background check entails.
This article will discuss what a background check is and what information employers can and cannot delve into. You’ll also learn what steps you can take to prepare for the process.
Key Takeaways:
A background check is a way for employers to learn detailed information about a candidate before extending a job offer.
An employer can check for employment verification, criminal/motor records, and public social media activity.
An employer is not allowed to check for political affiliation, school records, or medical records.
When preparing for a background check you should check your own records for any red flags, set social media profiles to private, and just be honest to your employer about anything.

What Is an Employee Background Check?
Background checks are a standard way for employers to learn detailed information about a candidate before extending them a formal job offer.
Hiring managers can learn a bit about an applicant’s background through their resume and what they divulge during interviews.
However, there’s plenty of missing information that is useful or downright necessary to know before deciding whether a candidate is the right fit.
Hiring, onboarding, and training a new employee can be a costly process. Even with at-will employment, firing a worker can disrupt a business’ operations.
For these reasons, background checks are a useful preliminary tool to identify a potential employee’s red flags before it’s too late.
What Employers Can Check During a Background Screening
Some common pieces of information that employers are legally able to look into are:
Employment verification. Applicants who lie about their job history are often immediately disqualified. A prospective employer may call into your previous jobs to ask about your dates of employment, essential duties, and performance.
However, they’re very unlikely to try and confirm every bullet point in your resume. Employers just want to know that you really worked there and were roughly as useful as you’ve claimed throughout the application process.
Education. Most universities have online tools that will allow employers to check if your diploma is real, as well as if your major and years of study match the education section on your resume.
Criminal records. The importance of a candidate’s past criminal activity differs from employer to employer. It could be crucial to know for some careers, such as in childcare.
Whatever the truth is, employers will inevitably learn about it during the background check. For this reason, it’s best to just be forthright with any criminal history you may have.
Work eligibility. Employers are legally allowed to ask you to present documents proving your identity and authorization to work in the United States.
Credit checks. If an applicant is applying for a financial position and shows a long string of bankruptcies, then they may not be the right individual for the position.
Motor vehicle records. If you’re applying to be a truck or taxi driver, an employer will likely want to check if you’ve caused any accidents in the past.
Social media activity. There is a complex web of laws that dictate how social media activity can influence an employer’s decision to decline a candidate for a job.
However, just know that many professionals have lost their jobs due to foul language, hate speech, and other negative material on their social media profiles.
Drug or alcohol test. Although this test is technically separate from the background check, it is something that employers may ask you to do. These tests are common if your job involves heavy machinery, driving, or highly technical tasks.
What Employers Can’t Check During a Background Screening
When a company conducts a background check on you, they aren’t allowed to ask, learn, or decline you a job offer based on:
Political affiliation. If possible, you should document the incident if your employer even mentions that they know your political views. Unless, of course, you’re personal friends with them and discussed it outside of work.
Worker compensation. Companies aren’t allowed to learn about your previous salary until after they extend you a job offer. Even after you’re hired, you should treat it as a red flag if your employer asks about your previous compensation.
Disabilities. Just as is the case with political affiliation, employers who are even aware of any physical disabilities that you haven’t willingly disclosed to them are in violation of multiple state and federal employment laws.
The only way they could indirectly glean this information is by asking you to perform a physical exam. Even then, they’re only allowed to measure if you’re physically able to perform the job’s essential duties, not whether you possess a disability.
Various credit/criminal information. Yes, we did mention credit and criminal checks as something that many employers perform during a background screening.
However, there are many pieces of information that they may not be able to learn, depending on the location of the job. You should look into your state-specific laws if you’re interested, but details that employers generally can’t look into include:
Bankruptcies over ten years in the past.
Civil suits and arrest records after seven years from date of entry.
Accounts placed for collection after seven years.
Most other negative information (excluding criminal convictions) after seven years.
School records. While a job can verify which school you went to and earned a degree from, they won’t be able to see your full record. They are not able to see the grades you received in your classes. This rule can also go as far back as high school.
Military records. An employer can not see a person’s medical records. An individual can disclose that information to a potential employer, but the employer will not be able to know more unless you tell me yourself.
Medical records. medical documents are private documents with privacy ensured by the doctor-patient confidentiality. You may disclose any medical problems with your employer if necessary, but they will not be able to access any medical records in a background screening.
The Employee Background Check Process
When conducting a background check on a candidate, employers may choose from two different methods.
These methods are:
Use a third-party service. Specialized companies such as iprospectcheck can run an employee background screening on behalf of an employer. Both the employer and the third-party company must follow the background check rules dictated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
To ensure compliance, employers must:
Give notice to the candidate that they will be completing a background check.
Obtain the candidate’s consent to perform the background check.
Provide the candidate with a copy of the “Summary of Consumer Rights under the FCRA.”
Provide the candidate with the name, phone number, and physical address of the agency producing the background check report.
Additionally, employers must follow the Adverse Action Notification Process (AANP) if they decide to reject a candidate as a result of what was found during their background check.
This includes sending them a document that explains exactly what information was found that denied them the job, as well as informing them of where they can receive a copy of the report.
Employers should also include a copy of the most current document titled, “Summary of Your Rights Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.”
Do it themselves. Companies may be able to find the information they’re looking for by searching through online databases, public records, and by calling previous employers. However, there are mountains of laws that employers could unwittingly break by conducting a pre-employment check on their own.
It’s illegal to deny applicants a job or even perform a background check based on factors such as race, gender, or disability. They also should not be asking you any personal questions during the job interview or over the phone.
Asking a candidate about their medical or financial history can put companies in serious legal trouble, even if it’s information they’ve shared publicly on social media or through other means.
Most reputable employment-screening companies will be able to complete the check within 3-5 days.
This time can range between a few minutes to multiple weeks, depending on factors such as the location of the candidate and county courthouse operations.
How to Prepare For a Background Check
It’s a misconception that you can’t prepare for a background check. There are plenty of steps you can take to improve your chances of passing a pre-employment screening.
The most important ones are to:
Review your records. Make sure to obtain copies of your credit report and driving records. This way, you can dispute any incorrect information ahead of time or prepare explanations for details that your employer is likely to ask about, such as major traffic violations.
You can obtain a free record of your credit report through major credit bureaus such as Equifax and Experian. In some states, you may be able to view your driving records online through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) website.
Curate your social media profiles or set them to private. Employers may look up your social media profiles to spot any possible red flags. Either delete posts with excessive foul language and questionable pictures or change their privacy settings so that outsiders can’t view them.
Prepare records of your previous jobs and academic history. If a company asks to see your college diploma or proof of past employment, you want to be able to hand it over quickly. The longer you wait, the more suspicious they may become of you doctoring documents.
Inform your references ahead of time. If you’ve given a prospective employer your references’ contact information, you should let them know they might be called.
If they’re surprised and called out of the blue, they might not have time to recollect experiences that they’ve had with you. You also need to make sure you have their consent to be a reference in the first place. It would be disastrous for an employer to call a past employer who doesn’t have anything positive to say about you.
Be honest. In almost all cases, being honest throughout the application process will save you time and lead to the best results. There’s no point in hiding your criminal history, as employers will doubtlessly look into it after your interview.
You also don’t want to spend years building a career, only for it to come crashing down when your fraudulent qualifications or employment history are discovered. If an employer turns you down because of your honesty, you can simply move on to the next job listing.

What might a background check reveal? • BUOM
March 24, 2021
Before you officially begin work, your employer may first require you to go through a selection process. One way to make sure you’re a suitable candidate is to go through a step in the process called a background check. During background checks, the employer can learn a lot about your track record. In this article, we will discuss what can be revealed in a background check to help you prepare for your next background check process.
What is a background check?
Background checks are a common pre-employment screening method that employers use to learn more about a candidate’s background and ensure they hire candidates who align with the company’s values and policies. Although employers use other screening methods such as referrals and recommendations, background checks give them a better idea of your personality. Some companies conduct their own background checks, while others may hire third-party companies to do it for them.
Why do employers use background checks?
Employers use background checks to make sure you are who you say you are. While you can claim that all of the information in your application materials is correct, some employers need to prove that your applications are honest to make sure they can trust you, for security purposes, and to make sure you meet their qualifications. For example, if a company needs a highly skilled person to do a particular job, they want to make sure you’re honest about your authority. Background checks are especially important in industries where employers must trust employees with important assets or sensitive information.

Although all types of companies require background checks, this method of verification is most often used in the following industries:
Education: Teachers, administrators, professors
Home contractors: electricians, plumbers, construction workers
Public service: Administration, police officer, corrections officer.
What can be found in the background check?
The following items may appear in the background check:
Credit report
Although this part of the background check may not be useful for many jobs, employers hiring employees who will handle company money may find a credit report applicable. By looking at your credit report, an employer can see how many accounts you have with creditors and whether you have a bankruptcy history. When looking for someone who can handle money well, employers can use this to determine if you have large debts or spending problems.
Identity check
For background checks, your employer will ask for your social security number. During the verification process, they use databases or services to ensure that the number you provide matches your identity. They can even see other places where you used your social security number before. This step of the verification process also helps employers find out if you have provided them with the correct address. Before applying for a job, you can check if the address on your driver’s license or ID matches your current place of residence.
Convictions
An employer can find out about any previous criminal convictions through a background check. Things like pending charges, misdemeanor convictions, felony convictions, dismissal of charges, and acquitted charges are displayed in this screening process. Having this knowledge is important for companies that have any concerns about liability. Before background checks, the employer may also require you to fill out a form stating if you have any past or pending payments.
Driving record
When applying for a position that requires you to drive heavy machinery or a company vehicle, your employer may check your driving record. For example, employers wishing to hire truck drivers, school bus drivers, or city bus drivers may conduct such background checks. They can see information about any previous accidents you’ve been involved in or tickets you’ve received. From here, the employer can decide whether the candidate is trusted to comply with driving laws during work hours.
Educational History
When an employer requires a candidate to have certain educational experience, employers may do some research to find out if applicants are being truthful about their degrees. Keeping a record of your academic transcripts or diplomas can greatly speed up this process for your potential new employer. If you are a student who has attended multiple schools, let them know about any transfers or changes.
Work history
A background check can prove that you are honest about where you worked. One of the common ways employers do this kind of background check is by contacting your previous employers directly. Prospective employers should ensure that the information you provide on your application materials matches that of your previous employer. If you ever need to remember your seniority, review your old tax forms to accurately remember your employment dates. Similarly, it can be very helpful to keep a master copy of your resume that includes all of your work experience.
Other pre-employment screening methods
Here are some other common ways employers screen candidates before formally offering them a job: is to conduct telephone interviews. Instead of inviting you into the office right away, hiring managers tend to have short phone calls with a large number of candidates before deciding who moves on to the next part of the interview process. During this pre-interview, the hiring manager may ask you basic questions about you and your intentions to apply to their company. When a hiring manager wants to interview you over the phone, prepare for the following questions:
Tell me a little about yourself.
How would your previous employer describe you?
Why are you interested in this position?
Why should we hire you?
What do you know about our company?
What are your strengths?
What is your weakness?
What are your career goals?
What are your salary requirements?
Do you have any questions for me?
Pre-employment testing
Employers may require candidates to answer a series of questions to measure their competence. These tests can help employers learn more about you and your ability to complete a particular project or task. Here are some common pre-employment tests you may encounter while looking for a job:
Job Knowledge: Employers use these tests to see if you know enough about the position you are applying for.
Physical ability tests: These help employers know if you have the strength and stamina to do manual work.
Personality Tests: When an employer is looking for someone who can fit in with their company culture, they may want to know more about your personality type.
Emotional intelligence tests: Those who score well on these tests tend to have the skills to build relationships and control their emotions.
Cognitive ability tests: Employers can find out if you have the cognitive ability to perform tasks that require complex thinking, logic and reasoning.
Integrity Tests: These tests measure your trustworthiness and integrity, which is important for roles that handle company funds and confidential information.
Skill Tests: Employers can learn more about your skill set and determine if you have the experience and ability to do a good job.
references
Employers may ask you to list a few professional and personal references they can contact to see what other people have to say about you. When you can find a few people who can vouch for you, it can prove that you are capable of building constructive relationships with others. When employers are looking for a hardworking and efficient employee, they may turn to a previous employer or your manager.
Social media
Employers who want to protect their brand reputation can run your name through a search engine or social media platforms. When posting on social media, be mindful of the content you share and try to keep all content on your platform professional and respectful.
Drug test
The drug test tells employers if you have used any illegal or illicit drugs over a period of time. Companies in the healthcare, education, automotive, manufacturing, public and private security sectors typically test for substances. The most common drug tests that employers use include the following:
Urinalysis
Saliva test
Blood test
Hair follicle test
900 22
Sweating test
Breathalyzer test

72% of Russian residents faced security checks during employment, and 74% of candidates for vacancies in the IT field. This is a common practice, but not all job seekers understand what exactly employers are looking for and why. We will talk about this in our article.
Every second company in Russia checks candidates before hiring. In Western organizations, this figure is much higher. According to SHRM statistics, 92% of US employers check not only applicants for open vacancies, but also their current staff: 15% arrange annual checks, 13% – in emergency situations, 10% – when they decide to promote or transfer an employee to another job.
What they check and what they want to find
According to a study by hh.ru, in Russia they most often check information from the applicant’s previous jobs and whether the candidate has a criminal record – these data are of interest to more than 60% of employers. Every second employer examines social media accounts, 46% verify the authenticity of documents, 44% collect data on financial reliability: debts, traffic police fines, bankruptcy, 18% check the candidate’s relatives for a criminal record. Lie detector is used by only 6% of companies.
Organizations employing more than 500 people, much more often than small organizations, check whether a candidate has a criminal record – this is done by 89% of employers, as well as the authenticity of his documents and financial situation. They also use a polygraph – in 11% of cases.
Western countries have a similar practice, but there are some peculiarities. A recent SHRM study found that in the United States, a criminal history check is the most common pre-employment screening. In 2021, candidates were screened as follows:
83% of employers – for a criminal record,
57% of companies – for drug use,
2
26% viewed candidates’ social media and collected information about them in search engines,
25% clarified the creditworthiness of applicants,
7% conducted the so-called honesty test, which assesses the candidate’s propensity to steal, aggression and sabotage.
Why companies need this information
Hiring mistakes cost companies a fortune. According to the American Association of Personnel Management, the total cost of hiring and adapting a new employee can reach 200% of his annual salary.
According to a CareerBuilder study, 75% of US employers lose an average of $17,000 per wrong hire. A third of companies believe they are making the wrong choice due to over-reliance on applicants who provide false information about their skills and qualifications. Employers have grounds for such statements. According to the American consulting company Checkster, 78% of candidates lie when applying for a job:
60% of applicants exaggerate their skill level,
50% overestimate their experience,
49% falsify exam scores,
90 022
41% promote themselves at their previous job,
40% lie that they studied at a prestigious university,
33% lie about their achievements.
Alexander Vysotsky
Founder of the international EdTech-IT company in the field of education Visotsky Consulting
In our company, the security service starts checking only if the candidate has successfully completed the test task, passed the final interview with the manager, and we plan to put him on a trial period. We usually ask the applicant for contacts of three former managers in advance for recommendations. We learn the following from them:
what position the candidate held,
how successfully he coped with his duties,
what specific achievements and results of his work,
how well this person had professional skills and knowledge,
why they broke up.
Next, we check candidates through a special service of counterparties “Kontur.focus”. We are usually interested in whether the applicant participated in bankruptcy proceedings, whether he has unpaid legal claims, except for minor traffic police fines, whether he participated in court cases as a defendant. If you participated more than three times, then we start to have questions. We are also interested in whether the candidate is engaged in a competing type of activity.
There were practically no cases when we refused for the above reasons. But once they did not listen to the recommendations from the former employer and very much regretted it. We were told that the employee leads an unhealthy lifestyle. But we took a chance and took it for a trial period. We work remotely, we use the Time Doctor program, which takes screenshots. We saw that the employee smoked weed during working hours and sent videos and photos of the process to friends. Our company has a loyal system: first we make a remark, and only then we proceed to more decisive actions. But we said goodbye to this employee immediately.
In a Resumelab study, 93% of respondents said they knew people whose resumes contained false information, and 56% of respondents themselves distorted the facts:
25% exaggerated their work experience,
21% came up with official duties,
16% overestimated the experience,
15% exaggerated the level of skills,
10% told lies about the level of income.
Most often, false data was found in the resumes of people who work in business, finance and IT. Education workers were less likely than others to distort information about themselves.
The most common reason for cheating, which occurs among a third of applicants, is a long period of unemployment; 18% of candidates lied because they thought they would not get caught. 17% believed that they were not qualified enough for the chosen position, another 17% wanted to receive a higher salary.
All this explains the desire of employers to carefully check applicants. But sometimes employers look for background facts that aren’t on the resume, but that might be incompatible with certain jobs. Fraud convictions, debts, and bankruptcy are barriers to work related to the management of a company’s financial assets. Also, checks are carried out to make a psychological portrait of the candidate. To do this, HR managers monitor social networks.
Maria Kharchenko
HR Director of the accounting service “Button”
We study all candidates, whether they are cleaners or developers, for administrative and criminal offenses. During the interview, we ask the candidate a direct question: is there something in his biography that a security check will reveal? We understand that in a person’s life there could be moments of crisis, difficulties with paying loans, or something like that. And it is the reaction to this question that tells us more than the test itself. If an employee confesses to offenses, and the Security Council confirms his words, we understand that he is honest with us. In this case, we can accept him for work, even taking into account the ambiguous results of the check. But if the candidate is deceiving from the very beginning, he has no chance of getting into our company.
Once we had to turn down a qualified developer. We asked him the same question. He assured us that everything was in order, and the check revealed a six-figure debt to banks. We asked why he didn’t warn us. The candidate called the debt a trifle that he did not remember during the interview. For us, this is an indicator of the reliability of a specialist. If a six-figure debt is a trifle for him, then how will he treat confidential information, material values, his own and others’ mistakes?
But honesty does not always guarantee a candidate a place in our company. We can turn a blind eye to minor offenses, such as failure to pay a traffic police fine, a one-time missed loan payment, or facts from the past of relatives of the candidate. But multiple offenses always strain. We cannot afford to consider such applicants, because working in an accounting service requires access to personal and financial data of clients. We have very strict criteria for selecting employees.
The past is not a sentence
Not always an imperfect biography becomes an obstacle to employment. In 2021, 85% of HR managers and 81% of US executives said that employees with a criminal record perform as well or even better than employees without a criminal record.
68% of HR managers said they value the candidate’s professional qualities more than the background spots,
53% of HR professionals said they are ready to hire people with criminal records0003
47% of HR managers and 38% of company executives believe that people should be given a chance to return to normal life by providing them with jobs,
41% of HR managers believe that asking such questions is tactless.
Security personnel make decisions based on limited information about the candidate. Therefore, mistakes in our work are inevitable. We recently hired a person for one of the leading positions in the company. He admitted that he had lived in the United States illegally for three years. He tried to emigrate, but he did not manage to make documents, so he returned to Russia. We were unable to verify the history of his stay in the United States and advised the management not to take such an applicant, since he had to work with documents of special secrecy. The management decided otherwise: the company requested references from former employers, they were positive, and the managers hired a person. And they did the right thing, the employee turned out to be trustworthy, and suspicions were in vain. And that’s okay. Our job is to advise, not make the final decision.
Security officer of a federal digital company who asked not to be identified
What the laws say 65 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. The authenticity of these documents can be verified through open databases.
The originality of the passport – on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, TIN – through the website of the Federal Tax Service, diploma of education – in an educational institution. The candidate requests a criminal record certificate independently from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Information about enforcement proceedings can be found on the website of the bailiffs.
The applicant may also be asked to fill out a questionnaire, which sometimes includes questions that are not directly related to professional competencies: about the working biography of parents, dual citizenship, attitudes towards alcohol and drugs. In order to start processing such a questionnaire, the employer is obliged to obtain written permission from the candidate in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
The employer does not have the right to refuse employment because of information obtained during the test, which is not related to the professional qualities of the candidate.

FAQs for finding preschools near you in Duncanville, TX
In 2023 what types of preschools can I find near me in Duncanville, TX?
There are two main types of preschool programs near you in Duncanville, TX. The first is a full-time program that usually works best for parents working full-time shifts, and the second is a part-time preschool where your child would attend only two to three days per week and typically choose between a morning and afternoon shift. A part-time preschool can be a great option if you want to ease the transition of this new learning experience for your child! You can also check your options in Duncanville, TX for traditional preschool centers, or private home-based preschools.
What should I look for in a good preschool program near me in Duncanville, TX?
When you begin looking for preschools near me in Duncanville, TX, consider your priorities and ask administrators about their philosophies and approach to common child care issues or occurances. You may also want to ask about the ratio of learning time to supervised play time so you can get a good sense of whether you believe your child’s needs will be met. From there, ask about what a typical day consists of, what the safety protocols are and how discipline will be handled.

20 Impressive Questions To Ask A Potential Employer At A Job Interview
getty
The interview process is a critical stage for any job seeker, and one of the most crucial moments is when the interviewer invites the candidate to ask any questions they may have. This not only gives the candidate a chance to learn more about the company and the job expectations, but it also helps the interviewer gauge the candidate’s interest and enthusiasm.
However, not all end-of-interview questions asked by candidates are created equal; some will make a stronger impression on potential employers than others. Below, 20 Forbes Coaches Council members explore great questions to ask during this important stage of the interview process and highlight why they are so effective.
1. ‘What is the biggest issue or challenge the company is currently facing?’
It is all about mindset and positioning. Your question has to show that you care about the company even before you join it. A question you may ask is, “What is the biggest issue or challenge the company is currently facing, and how can my role help address it?” By asking this question, you show that you are a team player. The answer may give you insights about the company and whether it’s a good fit for you. – Abraham Khoureis, Dr. Abraham Khoureis
2. ‘How are high performers recognized and rewarded?’
Remember, you are interviewing the company as much as they are interviewing you. Ask questions that align with your values. For example, if you value integrity and honesty, you could ask, “How are high performers recognized and rewarded?” with a follow-up, “How are underperformers identified and managed?” If you value fun, you could ask, “Tell me about the last time you laughed at work.” – Yvette Costa, Velocity Advisory Group
3. ‘How could I impress you in the first three months?’
I’ve always been a believer in expectations management, so I would ask, “How could I impress you in the first three months?” It shows the hiring manager that you are eager to hit the ground running and make a positive contribution to the organization. It also gives you the opportunity to watch the interviewer’s response, as it will inform your expectations of how they want you to perform and contribute. – Kevin Kan, Break Out Consulting Asia

4. ‘If I succeed in getting this role, what do you think my three- and six-month goals would be?’
“If I succeed in getting this role, and to hit the ground running, what do you think my three- and six-month goals would be?” would be a great question to ask to show willingness and the room for preparation. As the question states, it allows the employee to “hit the ground running.” It also allows the interviewers to see the candidate as they would in the role to see how the candidate would fit. – Dr. Rakish Rana, The Clear Coach
5. ‘What do you enjoy most about working at this company?’
This question shows that the candidate is interested in learning more about the company culture and what it’s like to work there. It also gives the interviewer a chance to share their personal experiences and opinions, which can help the candidate get a better sense of the company’s values and priorities. – Anna Tan, Coaching Go Where
Forbes Coaches Council is an invitation-only community for leading business and career coaches. Do I qualify?
6. ‘What strengths and weaknesses did the Covid-19 pandemic expose for this organization?’
I would recommend asking, “What strengths and weaknesses did the Covid-19 pandemic expose for this organization?” The answer could tell you whether you’re potentially joining a team that prides itself on firefighting, risk management, being reactive or reflective. – Sheri Nasim, Center for Executive Excellence
7. ‘Why was I chosen for an interview from among all the applicants?’
Be bold and get personal. If it’s at the start of the interview, consider asking, “Why was I chosen for an interview from among all the applicants?” to see what features appealed to them most, and work from those. If it’s at the end of the interview, ask, “Which of my strengths or skills would serve me best in this position or company, and why?” This will reveal to both sides of the table whether you are a fit. – Tanya Chernova, Tanya Chernova Global Corp
8. ‘According to company expectations, what traits do you think are essential to succeed in this role?’
One good question to ask is, “According to company expectations, what traits do you think are essential to succeed in this role?” It is a good opportunity to expand on the key attributes the company looks for in employees and how you can position yourself as the ideal candidate. This information helps you demonstrate how you can bring value to the company through your unique set of abilities. – Paula Vidal Castelli, Paula Vidal Castelli Intl., LLC
9. ‘What is the biggest reason that someone would want to work for this business?’
It’s cheeky, but I would ask, “What is the biggest reason that someone would want to work for this business?” The answer will help the prospective employee see if there is a fit in values and culture and if the business’s mission is aligned with the candidate’s. As someone from the company, I like that question because it tells me that the prospect is a self-starter. – Angela Sedran, The Business Growth Accelerator
10. ‘What are the best ways to differentiate one’s performance that align nicely with the company culture?’
This question not only makes the interviewer think deeply, but it also shows that your work style leans towards excellence. It also demonstrates that you are a team player who doesn’t want to harm the company culture, but instead work within it. – Karan Rhodes, Shockingly Different Leadership (SDL)
11. ‘Can you tell me why you joined this company and what keeps you here?’
One of the best questions for an interviewee to ask at this point in the process is, “Can you tell me why you joined this company and what keeps you here?” This question combines two essential goals of any interviewee: connecting with the interviewer and getting to know the company culture. It also is telling not only why they joined the company but, more importantly, why they continue to stay. – Christopher Mullen, PhD, chrismullen.org
12. ‘For you, what is most important in this role?’
My favorite first question is always, “For you, what is most important in this role?” as this specific question will be filtered by the person’s core values. Depending on the answer, you will understand this person’s real motivation. It is a great way to know if you will be a good fit for this job, with this person as your manager. The aim is to work with someone who is in line with your core values. – Julien Fortuit, Julien Fortuit Agency
13. ‘How does this role interact with other parts of the team and organization?’
You can show curiosity and telegraph your focus on teamwork by asking, “How does this role interact with other parts of the team and organization?” The answer should give you insight into the group dynamic and level of collaboration. If your interviewer is a member of the hiring team, a great follow-up question is to ask more about their role as a way to forge that human connection. – Andrea Miller, Veritas Leadership, LLC
14. ‘What most excites you about the work you do?’
I’m energized by stories, so I might ask, “What most excites you about the work you do?” A purer form of this inquiry might be, “Outside of work, what fills you up?” I’m interviewing them too, not just the other way around, so I want to surface the signals that help inform how much I’ll enjoy spending time with this person. You’ll also get a read about how they value boundaries and balance. – Duncan Skelton, Duncan Skelton Coaching Ltd
15. ‘What are the biggest challenges or obstacles I can expect to face in this position?’
This is a great question to ask because it shows that you are proactive and want to be prepared for any challenges you may face in the role. Following that up with, “And how can I best prepare to meet these challenges?”’ also demonstrates that you are committed to succeeding in the position and want to know what you can do to ensure your success. – Jay Rai, www. jayrai.com
16. ‘How does this role fulfill the strategy and purpose of the organization?’
This is a great question to ask the interview panel, as it does two things: It offers you insight into where this role fits in the ecosystem, and it gives detail about the culture and values that account for all roles driving toward purpose. It makes the recruiting team aware of your propensity to understand strategy too. – Arthi Rabikrisson, Prerna Advisory
17. ‘In what areas of work did my predecessors struggle, and how would you have preferred to see them resolved?’
Ask the recruiter, “In what areas of work did my predecessors struggle, and how would you have preferred to see them resolved?” This opens the discussion to the employer’s pain points and helps the candidate have a better grasp of how the employer prefers for issues to be dealt with. The question also clarifies what the employer views as a problem or lack of performance. – Karina Ochis, Prof. Dr. Karina Ochis
18.
‘How has your career been, and what excites you to be here every day?’
This question shows that you are holistic and have leadership thinking. It helps you to understand what working in the company is like and what success will look like. It also clarifies the company’s culture, leadership, expectations and challenges; and further, it lets you know whether they align with your aspirations and values. – Dennis Foo, Pu Xin ASPIRA Advisory Limited – Shanghai | Hong Kong
19. ‘Given everything you’ve heard, can you share your thoughts with me on where I do and don’t fit this role?’
I love a good closing question and when people are able to truly demonstrate the ability to hear real feedback and thoughts. This type of question truly sets the tone for the candidate’s potential impact. – Stacey Engle, Stacey Engle Leadership Coaching
20. ‘What is the first and most important task I will be assigned to?’
The answer to this question says more than the job description, company values, mission and vision on the website. It whispers about the existing team dynamics, current culture and care shown to the employees. – Senem Anataca, 180UTC
Questions to ask the employer during an interview | Career and Professional Development
An interview is a two-way street. (A polite street, with traffic rules.) Ask questions. The employer will typically, provide an opportunity for you to ask questions at or near the end of the interview, and they judge your questions as a reflection of your preparation and thought process.
Always prepare questions to ask. Having no questions prepared sends the message that you have no independent thought process, or are ill-prepared, or some combination.
Employers make judgments about you based on the questions you ask.
Have you done your research on the organization? (If yes, good.)
Are you asking rather dull questions that you could find in a web search, but about which you have no interest? (Not good. )
Are you asking about salary? (Bad sign.)
Are your questions intelligent and thoughtful and cordial? (Very good.)
How many questions to ask:
There’s no set number. It’s not a formula. It really depends on what you need to know. However, it’s highly unlikely that you would enter an interview without at least three to five questions on your mind and prepared to articulate. Be prepared with extra questions, in case some of your questions are answered before you ask them.
You may in fact have 20 questions on your mind, but there may not be sufficient time allotted to cover that many questions. Prioritize your questions based on the interview situation.
Is this the first interview? Ask for information that matters most early.
Is this the second interview? By now you should know the basics, so ask more probing questions.
Is this an all-day interview during which you are meeting with different groups and individuals? Ask questions that fit the roles of those individuals and groups (and ask one same question of all in order to compare responses!).
Show you’ve done your homework. Example: “I read on the company / organization / agency website that employees have recently done presentations at XX conference. Is that a typical opportunity in the job for which I am interviewing? Are there specific professional organizations employees have been encouraged to join?”
Know the nature of the organization and appropriate terminology.
Not all employing organizations are “companies.”
Governmental agencies and not-for-profit organizations are not accurately referred to as companies.
Most educational institutions are not for-profit (although some are), and may call themselves schools, colleges, universities, institutions, etc.
Some for-profit organizations may call themselves firms or businesses or agencies.
You will appear more prepared if you use appropriate terminology as used by the specific organization.
Some of your questions may be answered during the course of the interview, before you are offered the opportunity to ask. If so, you can simply state something to the effect that you were interested in knowing about …, but that was addressed during the interview (and express appreciation for the thorough information you were given). You could ask for additional clarification if applicable.
Do not ask questions that are clearly answered on the employer’s website and/or in any information provided by the employer to you in advance. This would simply reveal that you did not prepare for the interview, and you are wasting the employer’s time by asking these questions.
Never ask about salary and benefits issues until those subjects are raised by the employer.
Just as with questions asked by the interviewer to the candidate:
Good questions are open-ended, and thus cannot be answered with a “yes” or “no.”
Better questions are behavioral: they ask how things are done or have happened in the past, because current and past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.
The least useful questions are hypothetical, such as “what would you do if…?” The better way to get a useful answer is to ask the behavior “what have you done when….?” However, hypothetical questions can make sense if asking about something a person or organization has never experienced; the answer would at least exhibit the thought process.
Examples of ways to ask essentially the same question
Example 1:
Not good: Does your organization value its employees? (Aside from being answerable with a “yes” or “no,” it almost sounds antagonistic, because a “no” answer is clearly a negative.)
Good: How will your organization show it values its employees?
Better: What are things your organization has done recently to show how it values its employees?
Example 2:
Fair: Are you planning to open an office in Spokane?
Good: What are the plans for opening an office in Spokane?
Better: I read a news story about the possible opening of an office in Spokane. Knowing that a news article does not always capture the full story, I wondered what factors are under consideration for this decision. (Notice this isn’t technically a question, but a series of statements showing your interest and inviting conversation.)
Sample questions
If you are having trouble developing questions, consider the following samples. Use these as food for thought to help develop your own questions. Don’t ask a question that is not relevant to the organization, job, or situation. Don’t ask a question if you are not truly interested in the answer; it will be obvious to the employer.
Your questions must show your own thought process.
What are the organization’s/company’s strengths and weaknesses compared to its competition?
How does upper management view the role and importance of this department and this position?
What is the organization’s plan for the next five years, and how does this department fit in?
Could you explain your organizational structure?
What do you most enjoy about your work with this organization / company / agency?
How have various types of decisions been made?
What are the various ways employees communicate with one another to carry out their work?
How will my responsibilities and performance be measured? By whom?
What are the day-to-day responsibilities of this job?
Could you describe your company’s management style and the type of employee who fits well with it?
What are some of the skills and abilities necessary for someone to succeed in this job?
What is the organization’s policy on providing seminars, workshops, and training so employees can keep up their skills or acquire new ones?
What particular computer equipment and software do you use?
What kind of work can I expect to be doing the first year?
What percentage of routine, detailed work will I encounter?
How much opportunity is there to see the end result of my efforts?
How and by whom will my performance be reviewed? Are there specific criteria upon which I would be evaluated? And how frequently is formal and informal review given to new employees?
How much guidance or assistance is made available to individuals in developing career goals?
I read on the company / organization / agency website that employees have recently done presentations at XX conference. Is that a typical opportunity in the job for which I am interviewing? Are there specific professional organizations employees have been encouraged to join?
How much opportunity will I have for decision-making in my first assignment?
Can you describe an ideal employee?
What is your organization’s policy on transfers to other cities?

Candidates for positions in all companies are interviewed. This is an obligatory stage of negotiations after the analysis of resumes and testing. During a meeting with an HR specialist and an employer, a potential employee experiences stress. To avoid such an unpleasant state, prepare for the conversation in advance.
What they will definitely ask
A job seeker faces difficult questions. During a conversation, it is important to answer them quickly, so you should study them in advance. Having prepared the answers, you will not lose face at the interview and get a job. You need to answer completely the following:
Tell the interviewer about yourself. The story begins from the moment of choosing a profession and studying at the university to the experience gained over the years of work. It is important to focus on personal qualities that help develop and get high results. Present experience to employees in the format of a professional story. Name the skills that help. To avoid stuttering, rehearse the speech at home
Describe personal strengths that help you get the job done. During the interview, recruiters hear the same answers from the candidate. This is perfectionism and workaholism. Evaluate yourself objectively and try to talk about positive and negative qualities. Employers expect objectivity from the candidate. It is necessary that weak points do not concern the direct performance of duties. Otherwise, it will be difficult to get a job. The ability to assess opportunities in recruiting is compared with the maturity of the employee. Do not confuse mentioning some weaknesses with providing a list of faults and mistakes
Tell the employer by answering the question How do you see yourself in 5 years. For the employer, career expectations, desires and ambitions of the candidate are important. Companies are looking for various specialists. Some people need ambitious employees, others prefer calm employees who will carefully and systematically perform routine work and not show initiative
Answer a popular question for the employer. Why should we make a decision regarding your candidacy for this position. In this case, listen carefully to the manager or recruiter when meeting at the beginning of the interview. The executives of the company will utter all the important information about the qualities and skills of the candidate. Summarize the information received and find similarities between the portrait of the ideal applicant for the vacancy in question and yourself. Example: If I understand correctly, then you consider a responsible and punctual accountant as an employee who submits reports on time and excludes the company from fines and other penalties for violating applicable law. It seems that my candidacy suits you
Experienced recruiters develop a whole list of questions over the years of work that allow you to objectively evaluate the candidate. You need to answer all the questions that the interviewer will ask. However, they may not be related to work. It is important for the employer to understand the motivation and other details.
Behavioral interview
According to statistics, a person’s personal and professional qualities, as well as other factors, influence a person’s successful activity and achievement of goals. These include the availability of technical means, the availability of labor assessment criteria in the company. Not always the same person achieves success when changing jobs. To prevent negative situations at a new job, several questions are asked to assess the success of the applicant when he is admitted to the ranks of the company’s employees. Behavioral interviews are conducted according to a strict structure. It is possible to evaluate the received answers according to the established criteria. The behavioral interview goes like this. The candidate answers each question:
What tasks did you need to solve in your work?
What means did you have to achieve this result?
In favor of which solution was the choice made?
What obstacles did you face while working?
Evaluate your decision
Before the interview, think about what difficulties and successes you would like to tell the head of the company. Figures and facts about the work of an employee in another company will help to communicate more productively.
Preparing for negotiations will help you find facts and figures that will have a positive impact on the leader.
Projective interview
The recruiter’s goal is to understand the candidate’s personality type and his characteristic types and behaviors. To this end, you will be asked projective questions. The answers to them include the personal opinion of the applicant about events and situations that have no connection with him. Since the applicant does not need to talk about himself, the conversation builds more easily. The person feels confident and calm. But he talks about events and situations, taking into account the accumulated experience, personal qualities and skills. Therefore, such questions help the interviewer to draw useful conclusions during the conversation:
Why do people build a career? Within the framework of such a question, specialists try to find out the motives of the applicant for the position and understand how important it is for him to grow up the career ladder. Having received an answer to such a question, they will find out the negative experience of the employee. During a conversation, they understand the person’s ideas about a comfortable and uncomfortable work team
Which client can bring problems to the company? This issue is closely related to the negative experience of a potential employee and the likelihood of developing conflict situations with clients in the future
Why do some succeed at work and others fail? After answering this question, the manager understands how the applicant understands success and its reasons
So many questions will help form the right image of the employee in the eyes of interviewers
Case interview
This method is a situation from life. During the story of a potential employee, the employer has questions. During an interview, a person describes people who make a certain decision and bear full responsibility for it. Cases describe the real situation. In conditions of scarce resources, they contain several options. The main task of such communication is to see the various opportunities for achieving the goals of the applicant. This method is based on the analysis of various situations and the proposal to a potential employee to describe the model of behavior he has chosen to solve the problem that has arisen. During such an interview, the candidate for the position tries to provide socially desirable answers. Thus, a person demonstrates his attitude to the situation and values. Therefore, the head of the organization can analyze how they relate to the values of the company. Recruitment managers and leaders are interested in accepting a person who will cope with the upcoming tasks and will perform them responsibly. A case interview will help to verify or refute such personal and professional qualities as creativity, stress resistance, responsibility, punctuality, the ability to cope with a task in a limited time.
Questions related to the new position
Always during the interview, the applicant is interviewed on a topic related to the new position:
Why do you think you are suitable for this position?
Do you have relevant experience?
What interested you the most in the proposed vacancy?
How might this job affect your career plans?
When will you be able to start working?
What conditions do you need to work?
Hr-specialist, having received an answer, will be able to understand the motivation of the employee, his true desires, experience, and activity of the position. The job should please the applicant and cause him a great desire to achieve the goals of the enterprise. In this case, a fruitful interaction between the employer and the future employee will turn out.
Personal questions
Personal questions are not directly related to professional activities. But the answers to them can affect the performance of job duties and the quality of the work performed. In most cases, personal issues affect women. But men are also asked them. These include:
Wife/husband’s place of work
Wife/husband’s education
Do you have financial obligations?
Do you own real estate?
Are you planning to get married?
Are you planning to have a baby?
Do you have any chronic diseases?
Labor law prohibits discrimination, but the employer may ask questions during the interview that will be uncomfortable for the applicant. Do not draw the attention of the recruiter to the incorrectness of the topic. Such a confrontation will turn into a boomerang. Treating the situation with humor will help overcome the barrier between the applicant for the position and the interviewer.
Salary questions
Friendly staff, tea, coffee and biscuits are great. But in order to live with dignity, this is not enough. For this reason, it is important to discuss salary levels during the interview. For the employer, the reasons may be different. The goal of the recruiter may be to test the soil and analyze the expectations of a potential employee.
In most cases, the employer, asking a question about the level of wages, expects to save on wages. The main thing is to soberly assess your experience and not agree to conditions that are not suitable.
This question from the employer can put the job seeker in an uncomfortable position. Do not worry, cooperation is built on trust and mutual respect. If the question seems to the applicant for the position incorrect, then you should think about it. Perhaps the job is not suitable. In any case, be guided by the average market salaries in the market. In some cases, applicants voice the salary gap, voicing the range of allowable income per month.
Recap
In order to successfully negotiate, you need to prepare for a conversation with a manager or recruiting manager in advance. It is important to prepare each answer so that you can successfully get settled and work in the company.
Every job involves communication before signing an employment contract. After a conversation with the manager, you will be able to decide whether the vacancy is suitable and what to expect from mutual cooperation.

What interview questions should you ask an employer?
#Interview
#Job and Career
During a job interview, there comes a time when the hiring manager gives the candidate the opportunity to ask all the questions that interest him. One of the biggest mistakes job seekers make is not asking questions. As search and recruitment specialists, we always advise candidates not only to prepare for the interview by studying information about the company, but also to be ready to ask questions. This is your chance to better understand your potential employer, the culture of the company, as well as show your high interest in the job.
– Have I answered all your questions? Do you need to clarify/detail anything?
With this question, the interviewer can clarify any additional details regarding your candidacy and dispel any doubts about your professionalism. This is a good way to understand if the interviewer has doubts about your candidacy and resolve them right away.
– What are the next steps in the recruitment process?
This question further demonstrates your interest. It will also help you determine when, from whom, and where to expect a response, and will give you an idea of when you should contact the company if they don’t respond to you. Follow-up questions: what is the work schedule, who will I meet next, are there any assignments / tests that I should be ready for?
– What does the succession plan look like for this role?

Customer-service skills. Many expeditor duties rely on customer-service skills. “stock clerks sometimes interact with customers in retail stores and may have to get the item the customer is looking for from the storeroom.,” so an expeditor will need this skill often in their role. This resume example is just one of many ways expeditor responsibilities rely on customer-service skills: “expedited open purchase orders and rescheduled delivery dates to meet customer contracts. “
Detail oriented. Another skill that relates to the job responsibilities of expeditors is detail oriented. This skill is critical to many everyday expeditor duties, as “material and product inspecting clerks check items for defects, some of which are small and difficult to spot.” This example from a resume shows how this skill is used: “updated weekly status sheet detailing current location, critical pipe spools, delays and material shortages. “
Math skills. For certain expeditor responsibilities to be completed, the job requires competence in “math skills.” The day-to-day duties of an expeditor rely on this skill, as “some material recording clerks use math to calculate shipping costs or take measurements.” For example, this snippet was taken directly from a resume about how this skill applies to what expeditors do: “create, write and present written and oral reports and use basic mathematics, hands-on experience. “

We will place no limits on how fast a student can learn or how much time they need to learn hard things. We will utilize the rich network of connections the Discovery Center has fostered for over 20 years to engage appropriate partnerships with organizations such as NASA and the Smithsonian to facilitate instruction for the age, needs, and abilities of each student.

The Chapel Hill Day Care Center is an early childhood education center offering infant and toddler care, as well as programs for preschool and pre-k children. We are located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
We have several qualities that set us apart from other five-star centers.
Continuity of Care – We strive for children and teachers to stay together as a family-group from 6 weeks to 3 years. This enables your child and you to bond with his/her teacher during these early years.
Excellent Ratios – We offer the best ratio of teachers to infants in the area to ensure the highest quality of care, attention, and support for your baby. We recognize and support the importance of low ratios for all of our youngest children.
1:3 teacher to infant ratio
1:5 teacher to toddler ratio
1:6 teacher to twos ratio
Approaches to Learning:
Developmentally Appropriate Practices – In conjunction with and guided by a formal curriculum, our preparation for kindergarten occurs through hands-on, play-based experiences and activities, which are driven by children’s natural curiosity of and desire to understand and master the world around them. Our teachers are highly qualified and respect the language, culture, and values of individual families.
Child-Centered Philosophy – Our center strives to be an extension of home; we believe the best way to help a child develop socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically is to recognize and celebrate the uniqueness of each child and to honor all children as individuals. We also believe in messy and fun exploration each and every day!
Location – conveniently located in the heart of Southern Village, our families take advantage of the Park & Ride, Southern Village Community Playground, and picking up a quick coffee or dinner at Weaver Street Market and local restaurants.

— I “liked” the kindergarten so much that one day, when my mother was late for work and told me to walk from the gate to the group on my own, I reached the entrance, hid around the corner, waited for my mother to hide, and stomped home. Dad at home, of course, was surprised, but he didn’t betray me,” said Svetlana, an E1.RU reader. – And the best smell of childhood is the smell of my mother, who came to pick me up in the kindergarten in the evening. The smell of the street, wind, cold, freshness and its perfume.

Recently, residents of Yekaterinburg showed the most dead playgrounds in their yards. It is not surprising that there are so many of them, because in order for the site to be repaired, you need to go through seven circles of hell. Read our guide on how to get new slides and swings installed in your yard.
We also told how three mothers on maternity leave united and began to earn money by renting children’s costumes.
Chronicles of a childish hell: a scandal breaks out in one of the preschool institutions of the Moscow region

Fans of the famous Marquis de Sade showed up in a kindergarten in Krasnogorsk. The educators of this children’s institution applied strict measures of education to the kids. Now they will have to explain themselves to the employees of the Investigative Committee.
PHOTO: Gennady Cherkasov
children are often naughty and do not want to go to kindergarten, so when little Mila (name changed) told her mother that the teacher was strangling her, she didn’t believe it right away, but she saw in the parent chat that other children also tell all sorts of horrors about their teachers. According to them, they were often punished for some trifles, scolded and even beaten.
Then Svetlana Stenkina decided to use a trick and put a voice recorder inside her daughter’s favorite toy. After listening to the recording at home, the poor woman’s blood literally boiled in her veins from indignation and resentment.
Kindergarten No. 17 is located in Bolshoi Putilkovo, a new district of Krasnogorsk. In fact, this is a whole children’s town – the institution has as many as 5 buildings, the last one was put into operation quite recently. And many parents dream of sending their kids there, although this is not easy – there is a queue in the kindergarten. Firstly, there are special groups for children with speech delays and mental development, and secondly, according to the website of the preschool institution, the employees work on innovative educational programs. Of course, the fact that they are so innovative, mothers could not even imagine in a nightmare.
Tatyana Loginovskaya’s son categorically refused to go to the group, so the mother decided to watch through the glass what was going on there. What he saw explained a lot in the behavior of the child: the nanny, when the baby came up to ask something, rudely pushed him away. The horror on the face of the child and the speed with which he recoiled from the adult aunt who swung at him convinced the mother that this was not the first time this had happened.
Both children, Tatyana’s son and Svetlana’s daughter, went to the same speech therapy group.
“When I listened to the dictaphone recording, I was simply in shock,” Svetlana Stenkina later told TV reporters. “The workers cover the children with a three-story mat.”
“Eat a tattered goat”, “I’ll tear off your legs now”, “I’ll beat you” – this is not a complete dictionary of vocabulary, which the mother managed to record with the help of a hidden voice recorder.
As soon as the dictaphone recording was shown to the head of the kindergarten, she immediately fired the “lit up” nanny. But, according to the kids, other employees of the kindergarten behaved no better. Therefore, the scandal could not be hushed up.
The Main Investigation Department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region opened criminal cases under Art. 156 and 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (failure to fulfill the obligations of raising a minor, negligence). And the head of the department took this case under personal control: acting. Head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow Region Ya.A. Yakovlev will have to report to him on the progress of the investigation.
Unfortunately, the case of rudeness and violence against children in a preschool institution in Krasnogorsk is far from the only one. Many parents in the comments to this story on social networks wrote that their children were in similar situations. This is especially true for the smallest, who, due to their age and speech problems, cannot even complain to their parents.
“The governess took my child out into the corridor because he was not sleeping and left him standing there all the time during quiet hours until the other children wake up,” writes one of the mothers.
“I, too, like going to the garden, so my son is hysterical. I used to think that I was just acting up, but now I thought, what if he also gets it there? another worries.
And one of the parents admitted that everything described in the kindergarten in Krasnogorsk very much reminds her of her own childhood: “So many years have passed, and nothing changes in our kindergartens. Why do these people go to work with children if they hate them so much?” she asks a reasonable question.0003
According to child psychologist Maria Sivakova, only total video monitoring of their work can protect children from violence by kindergarten teachers.
“There should be cameras in all areas and employees should be aware of this. And those who are caught on the fact that they treat their pupils rudely should be fired not of their own free will, but as completely unsuitable for working with children. Some teachers like to justify their aggression by saying that the children took them out, that they behave terribly, and so on. But in their labor contract it is written that the teacher is obliged to find an individual approach to each child, including difficult, “uncontrollable”. And if you don’t know how or you don’t have enough patience and endurance, then you need to change your profession. I had to deal with children who were bullied by kindergarten teachers. Many of them then began to stutter, they developed enuresis and other problems, and it is very difficult for a psychologist to work with them, because they do not trust adults.”

Sundance Independent Film Festival Awards Winners
News
Desiree Akhavan’s The Miseducation of Cameron Post wins the Sundance Independent Film Festival’s top award, Turkish drama wins global screen competition “Butterflies”.
The organizers of the week-long festival in Utah announced the winners of the award on Sunday night. The film, directed by Iranian-American director Akhwan, won the Grand Jury Prize in the Best US Production Drama category. The Jury Prize for Best Foreign Drama Film went to Butterflies by Turkish director Tolga Karaçelik. Derek Donin’s Kailash, a film about the Indian human rights activist and fighter for children’s rights, Kailash Satyarthi, won the best in American documentary. The jury recognized the film of the Syrian director Talal Derka “Fathers and Sons” (Of Fathers and Sons) as the best in the world documentary film, the result of his more than two years of life and filming in the family of radical Islamists in the Islamic State group (ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation) region of Syria. Earlier in 2014, his documentary “Return to Homs” also won the competition.
Audience Award for Best American Film went to Andrew Heckler’s “Burden”, Best American Documentary according to festival audiences was Rudy Valdez’s “The Sentence”, World Film Audience Award went to drama by Danish director Gustav Müller’s “Guilty” (The Guilty) and Alexandra Shiva’s documentary film about the life of refugees “House” (This Is Home). Sundance presents awards in over 30 categories, including Best Director. It is noteworthy that, against the backdrop of the ongoing campaign in the US for women’s rights in the film industry, all four director’s awards (for feature and documentary film on screen in the US and abroad) were won by women directors: Isold Uggadottir from Iceland with ” Breathe calmly” (And Breathe Normally), documentary filmmaker from Singapore Sandi Tan (Sandi Tan) for “Shirkers”, also American directors Alexandria Bombach (Alexandria Bombach) with the film “On her shoulders” and Sara Colangelo (Sara Colangelo ) for the drama “Kindergarten Teacher”.
The documentary film “Our New President” by Russian director Maxim Pozdrovkin won a special jury award for editing.
This year 121 feature films from 29 countries were selected to participate in the festival. Festival participants were selected from 13.5 thousand applications, of which almost 4 thousand are full-length films. More than half of the authors of these films are foreign participants. For more than a hundred films, the screening at the festival became the premiere. The Sundance Film Festival is one of the most influential independent film shows in the United States. It was founded by the famous American actor and director Robert Redford and named after the character Redford in the cult western Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. More than 50,000 people visit the festival screenings in Park City, Salt Lake City and Ogden each year. Films premiered at the festival often set the tone for the entire subsequent film year.
