AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED
We’re so proud!
Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.
SCHOOL-READY
What Learning Looks Like
Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
Powell KinderCare Programs
Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)
Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.
Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)
Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.
Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)
This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.
Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)
This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!
Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)
When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.
Participating Child Care Aware Center
KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.
Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program
Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)
In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!
Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)
KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.
Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)
Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it. )
STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)
You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!
Our Teachers
We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.
Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!
A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH
An Artist’s Heart
“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.
We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.
Family Stories
Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!
-
Kinder Care has been a blessing to our family since day one! As soon as we walk in the door every morning we are always greeted with smiling faces of the directors and teachers as they call our children out by name. My son (4) has learned so much in the preK program. He went from hating going to school every day to begging to go to school now that he is enrolled at Kinder Care. He loves coming home and telling us what all he learned that day and it amazes me how much they cover in the curriculum. My daughter (1) gets so excited to see her teachers and classmates each day. Her teachers show her so much love throughout the day. She has developed and learned so much already from Kinder Care. All the staff at Kinder Care are wonderful! We love how they take the time to get to know each child’s strengths and weaknesses and handle their needs accordingly. They truly care about each and every child in the center. As a parent it is wonderful to be able to walk out after dropping our children off with comfort knowing that we don’t have to worry because they are having the best time at school! We LOVE being a part of the Kinder Care Family!

Our whole experience at KinderCare has been very positive. The first call and the first visit, Ms. Andrea was very informative and welcomed all of our questions. The entire staff at this KinderCare is so positive and treats everyone with great respect. You are greeted with a smile in the morning and a smile before you leave. What a great place for children!

As a full-time working mother I want the very best care during the day for my two boys. It is such a relief to know the staff at Kindercare shares my impactful vision. During my initial visit to Kindercare I sensed the staff truly cared about the children and every employee there is passionate about the position they have. In fact this is more than just a job to them, each has taken on the role of educator, caregiver and comforting friend with an encouraging mind set. When they see a child that needs a hug they give them one. They take ownership and make sure every child is comfortable and involved in their classrooms. The staff invests time and emotions in the children making them shine and be themselves. My boys are happy at Kindercare because they love the staff, they can be their own silly selves and are proud of their accomplishments. Kindercare is not just a top notch learning center for the education that is provided but also for the love, friendship and support they offer to children and their families. I cannot express what a relief it is to go into work each day and not have to worry about my children’s wellbeing. Your children get a home away from home, where they are celebrated every day for being their own individual self. Every working parent is looking for a place that will give them peace of mind knowing the staff is loving and treating their child like their own. This is the Kindercare experience consistently every day.

I started bringing my children to KinderCare when my oldest son was only eighteen months old. We had been through a very bad experience at our previous daycare but my fears were eased quickly with the staff I met and he loved his teachers. His whole personality changed and you could tell we had found a great center that we could bring him to while we went to work. We no longer had to worry about his safety. A couple of years later my second son was born and had special needs the first six months of his life that required an apnea monitor. The staff did great taking care of him so there was no question that when my daughter was born I was not going to place her anywhere else. We have had nine years of experience with the care and quality that KinderCare in Powell has to offer. I always recommend them to anyone looking for a great place to have their child cared for during the day.

Our entire experience at KinderCare has been wonderful. Starting with our first visit when I was pregnant they have been very welcoming and informative. Our questions and concerns have always been addressed in a prompt, professional manner. As any parent would be, we were anxious to find the right fit for our child when I returned back to work. From her first day the entire KinderCare staff have been loving, caring, and nurturing. We were especially impressed and pleased with how well the staff has helped us with all of the transitions that happen during the first year of life including transitioning our daughter from the infant room to the toddler room. We can highly recommend KinderCare.

Why Jerome Powell remains at the head of the Federal Reserve

Jerome Powell’s first term at the head of the Federal Reserve (Fed) was one of the most tumultuous in the organization’s history. Powell’s second term won’t necessarily be much easier. As a result, he can change the priorities of monetary policy, according to the Financial Times. For Puell, this will not be the first time – he has already changed shoes on the fly, recalls The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
The fox and the hedgehog
68-year-old Powell, unlike his three predecessors, cannot boast of an economic education. He followed in the footsteps of his father, a lawyer, but after several years of practice, he decided to change his role and make a career in the financial sector. Working in private companies and in the civil service, he eventually joined the Fed’s board of governors in 2012.
Powell once said he was a fox, not a hedgehog. This is a reference to a 1953 essay by the philosopher Isaiah Berlin. It categorizes writers as hedgehogs, who stick to one defining idea, and foxes, who consider different concepts depending on constantly changing information, the WSJ explains.
When Powell joined the Fed, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke campaigned hard for another round of quantitative easing, first attempted in 2008 and then repeated in 2010, Fortune recounts an unreleased manuscript by investigative journalist Christopher Leonard . In fact, we are talking about pumping money into the economy and at the same time keeping the rate at zero. Thus, everyone begins to desperately look for any ways to invest free funds, at least with a small return.
According to Fed transcripts, Powell considered this policy dangerous and opposed Bernanke with might and main. True, when it came to voting, his opinion always coincided with the position of Bernanke. In 2013, the Fed launched a major round of quantitative easing, pumping roughly $1.6 billion in new dollars into the economy. In the summer of 2014, Powell was wary of this measure in public speeches. But early next year, speaking to students at the Catholic University of America, he already said that his doubts were unfounded: “At the moment, there is clear evidence that the benefits of this policy are significant, and the risks have not materialized.”
As Leonard points out in Fortune, back in September 2015, at Fed closed-door meetings, Powell continued to argue whether quantitative easing was necessary. But his remarks became less and less harsh. Then in February 2018, Powell took over the Fed. From 2008 to 2014, the Fed printed about 3 times more dollars than between 1913 and 2007. In other words, it added as much money to the economy in a few years as would have been enough for 300 years at a normal pace. When the pandemic hit in 2020, the Fed printed the same amount of money, i.e. about $3 trillion in a few months.
Trump’s protege
It’s a tradition in the US that even if a representative of another party comes to power in the White House, the chairman of the Fed is not changed, NPR notes. This is one way to protect the political independence of the central bank. Trump broke that tradition. He was outraged that the Fed chairman, Democrat Janet Yellen, was not going to weaken the supervision of the financial sector. As a result, Trump did not nominate Yellen for a second term and made Powell his protégé.
Powell did loosen the regulation, which made him the target of attacks from a number of senators. So, now Democratic Senator from Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren calls not to re-elect Powell, calling him “a dangerous man at the head of the Fed.” True, the ideologists of crackdown on financiers themselves, the co-authors of the Dodd-Frank law, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, openly support Powell.
Renegades
In September, The Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg published an investigation that the presidents of two regional Fed banks were actively trading stocks and other securities in 2020. In normal times, one would expect the Fed chairman to make at least modest public support to colleagues – shop solidarity is valued in his institution, writes Fortune. But at a time when the old rules are being rewritten, and the Fed is improvising with might and main, this unspoken law has also been put under the knife. Failing protection from Powell, Dallas and Boston Federal Reserve Bank presidents Robert Kaplan and Eric Rosengren resigned. And the Fed, in the wake of this story, tightened the rules for trading in the market for its leaders. “The American people must have complete confidence that we are working in their interests at all times,” Powell said as a summary of this story.
Powell’s relationship with Trump soured just months after his appointment, Business Insider notes. In August 2018, the president said he was not happy with the Fed’s decision to raise interest rates. Trump continued to criticize Powell’s actions throughout his presidency, calling them “destructive” and accusing the Fed of not caring about stimulating economic activity. Despite this, the Fed rate rose. When Powell headed the Fed, it was 1.5%, and in December 2018 it was already 2.5%. Powell himself, at every opportunity, reminded that the Fed is apolitical, and its decisions never depended on either the president or legislators. .
Now Biden is taking the same risks as Trump, The Wall Street Journal notes. While Powell has so far pursued a monetary policy that largely aligns with the priorities of the current administration, he is doing so not for political reasons, but for good economic reasons, experts interviewed by the newspaper said. If the acceleration of inflation in the US is not a temporary phenomenon, then Powell may move to an aggressive rate hike, despite the risks of a slowdown in the economy and rising unemployment. With such measures, he will deal a blow to Biden’s popularity.
Why Biden chose Powell
Republicans are likely to play inflation if prices don’t slow down by the November 2022 midterms, NPR speculates. Republican Powell is a definite political cover for this attack, unlike the other candidate for this post, Democrat Layla Brainard.
In addition, Biden’s advisers say that the President’s team wants to focus on changing the legislation in the social sphere of combating warming, so it can’t afford to fuss for a long time to appoint the chairman of the Fed, the WSJ adds. And Powell will easily get the right amount of votes from both parties – unlike Brainard and any other candidate. Last year, he was elected with 84 votes in favor and 13 against. Of the senators who voted for him, 68 are still in Congress. During his four years as chairman, Powell held hundreds of meetings with lawmakers. He manages to maintain good relations with representatives of both parties, the newspaper notes. He managed to resist Trump, while not quarreling with the Republicans. And this is very important, because without the Republicans he will not get the required minimum of 50 votes. A number of Democrats have already turned down support for Powell. Someone heeded Senator Warren’s calls. And others, like Senators Jeff Merkley of Oregon and Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, blame Powell for not doing enough to fight climate change.
As a compromise, Biden nominated Brainard for the Fed’s vice chairmanship, a post that plays an important role in setting monetary policy. Actually, the views of Powell and Brainard are very close. The difference is only in relation to the regulation of the financial sector: Brainard does not agree with its weakening. Reuters “We all remember well the spring of 2020, when the global economy almost collapsed, and it didn’t happen in large part because of the measures that you and your colleagues took,” Powell was praised by Louisiana Republican Senator John Neely Kennedy in July this year during a speech in Congress.
In contrast to the response to the 2008 crisis, this time the Fed’s actions were approved by a majority of lawmakers, the WSJ assures, and calls Powell’s actions “one of the most ambitious and bold economic policies since World War II.” The Fed quickly lowered the rate to almost zero: on March 3, 2020, it fell from 1.75% to 1.25%, and on March 16 – to 0.25%.
For a long time, the Fed resisted becoming a source of emergency lending to businesses across America and, indeed, the world, according to Dow Jones (Prime quote). However, during the pandemic, the Fed provided funding to companies, cities, and states on a scale far beyond what it did during the 2008 crisis. In addition, the Fed began to massively buy U.S. government bonds from investors urgently in need of U.S. currency and issue dollar loans to foreign central banks secured by their national currencies. Thus, the Fed eased the global shortage of dollar liquidity and stopped the collapse of stock markets around the world.
Inflation or unemployment?
Even before the pandemic, Powell was thinking about reevaluating the Fed’s economic policy. In the summer of 2019, he moved from a gradual increase in the Fed’s rate to its gradual decrease, as inflation, contrary to forecasts, remained below the Fed’s target of 2%. Unemployment was declining and in February 2020 reached a 50-year low of 3.5%, writes the WSJ. One must think that Trump’s dissatisfaction with the rate hike also played a role in Powell’s decision to cut the rate.
During the pandemic, inflation fell to 0.2%, while unemployment reached a 14.8% rate not seen since the Great Depression. Last summer, Powell said the Fed would move away from its focus on inflation and instead keep rates low for as long as possible to spur a quick economic recovery and job growth. The unemployment rate has declined significantly since then, falling to 4.6% in October.
Powell, however, will face a completely different economic situation during his second term. In October, inflation in annual terms reached 6.2%, which is the sharpest increase since 1990. This raises the possibility that the Fed will have to rethink its policy again, accelerating the pace at which the bond buying program is being phased out and raising rates sharply several times next year, the Financial Times warns. Now it takes $120 billion a month to buy bonds, but from November this amount will be reduced by $15 billion a month. Thus, the program will have to end sometime in June next year. Until then, the Fed does not want to change the rate. However, it may happen that she will have to do this earlier than planned, sources say to the WSJ. Therefore, the accelerated curtailment of the program is being discussed. Fed officials may discuss this issue on December 14-15.
Everything hinges on the question of how long high inflation will last. Fed officials and most private economists polled by the WSJ believe that inflation will soon stabilize at 2-2.5%. Markets are less optimistic: Based on inflation indexing of securities, investors expected prices to rise by 3% through 2023 last Friday.
