Last Updated Jul 29, 2019 by Kelly Vo[ssba]

Insurance is a fast-growing career field. In the next 12 months, 63 percent of insurance companies plan to increase their staff numbers, according to a recent industry trend report.

In fact, by 2020, almost 400,000 insurance jobs are projected to be available. When combining that with the fact that millennials aren’t very interested in working in insurance—only a third demonstrate any interest—it’s a great career field to consider.

There’s a wide range of jobs, across a broad spectrum of career paths, within the insurance industry, and compensation is higher than average. Entry-level professionals can expect to earn more than $50,000 a year, and that number only increases as you gain experience.

In this article, we’re breaking down the highest paid insurance jobs, the companies where you’ll earn the most money, the top MBA programs, and where you should live.

Bay Area parents of young children still struggle to find childcare amid pandemic, inflation

Bay Area parents of young children still struggle to find childcare amid pandemic, inflation

Bay Area parents of young children still struggle to find childcare amid pandemic, inflation
03:21

SAN FRANCISCO – Amid the pandemic and inflation, many Bay Area families with young children are still struggling to find childcare. The lack of available spots, along with the cost, has prompted many working women to quit their jobs.

Meet Lily Marquez and her kids – 5-year-old Mia and 6-year-old Jeremiah. These San Franciscans are among the many faces in the Bay Area of child care troubles.

For Marquez and a lot of other folks, it’s the one-two punch of high cost and no access.

Lily was a financial aid counselor at a local university — emphasis on was.

“I had to quit my job when Mia was born. I had to sell my home and move in with in-laws because I had to pick. I couldn’t afford working and then paying for childcare. The expense of childcare was probably $4,500 a month,” she told KPIX 5.

Even without a mortgage payment to contend with Lily never actually found room in a preschool for Jeremiah.

“I was on a childcare waitlist for a very long time with him. He never got childcare,” Marquez recalled.

Amie Latterman is the Chief Advancement Officer with the Children’s Council in San Francisco. The organization helps 20,000 families a year find and fund childcare.

Latterman said Marquez’s story is not unique.

“It can take more of your income to have two kids under five in childcare and preschool than it does to pay your mortgage or your rent. It’s actually more expensive than housing,” Latterman told KPIX 5.

She said the shortage of childcare during the pandemic forced many mothers out of the workforce.

“We haven’t seen all those people come back to the workforce yet, because the solution is not there yet. Childcare is not back,” Latterman said.

Things are a bit better for Marquez and her family these days. Mia and Jeremiah are in school, but she worries about what social and learning skills they missed out on staying home with her.

“I really wish there would be some legislation to help parents, families, single mothers, single fathers, grandparents — whoever has children. Childcare shouldn’t be a burden,” she said.

GC “Evrostroy” renovated a kindergarten in the Admiralteisky district of St. Petersburg

Group of companies “Evrostroy” has completed a major overhaul of the state budgetary preschool educational institution No. 135, located on the Fontanka river embankment, 90, room 22, lit. F. The work was carried out by the developer as part of the obligations to develop the social infrastructure of the Admiralteisky district. Not far away, at 40 Malodetskoselsky Prospekt, the company continues construction of the Idealist premium-class club house for 105 apartments.

During 11 months in the kindergarten built in 1969, all premises were repaired, engineering systems were replaced, furniture and equipment were updated, new playrooms, a catering unit, a laundry room, and a medical office were equipped. The institution has created a sensory room – for training, development and psychological relief of pupils.

Kindergarten covers an area of 1,193 sq. m and is designed for 4 groups of children aged 3 to 7 years. During the overhaul, it was possible to increase the design capacity of the building by re-planning and creating separate engineering units and utility rooms in the basement. As a result, the number of places in the kindergarten increased from 80 to 100 children.

On the territory of the preschool institution, a comprehensive improvement of children’s walking areas was completed, on which new playground equipment, shady canopies and a bright, non-traumatic coating were installed.

In March 2021, after a major overhaul, the kindergarten reopened for kids.

Six mistakes when hiring a housekeeper

7012

you liked it so much

housekeeper profile

that you decide not to interview . What to talk about with her? About how to wash floors? About caring for a VIP wardrobe? In fact, trusting your home to someone you haven’t even talked to is more than risky. Spend at least 30-40 minutes on
personal interview
and do a security check to enjoy cleanliness and order at home without having to worry and be nervous about what she is doing there without you and whether she can be trusted.

You rely entirely on someone else’s advice . Trusting the housekeeper of your acquaintances or even not very familiar people from social networks is at least frivolous. It seems to you that there is not much point in checking the housekeeper, because her task is only to help around the house. But, you see, your home is your loved ones, your personal belongings, your money, your peace and comfort.

You feel shame and embarrassment . And it happens that you are ashamed in front of several people at the same time! In front of elderly relatives who have worked hard all their lives and cleaned the house themselves, not thinking about any outside help. Maybe even embarrassing in front of the housekeeper herself, especially if she is older than you. You sit at your laptop or lounging on the couch with a cup of tea, and she crawls around the corners, mopping your floors, wiping your dust. She must have never seen such a mess! Surely she secretly despises you, considers you a lazy, loafer and dirty. Get rid of these thoughts! Everyone chooses how to live. Chances are if you were to offer your housekeeper to switch places with you, she would not agree.

When serious violations occur on the part of an employee, you do not complain, do not leave honest feedback , leave everything as it is. Consider that other families who contact this unscrupulous worker may also suffer.

You allow her to change the order you have established , to do everything the way you do not, but she considers it necessary and right. At this rate, your home will soon be not yours, but a reflection of hers. If you don’t like her initiative, gently and politely remind her what you asked her to do, and if she forgot about it or ignored it, let her redo it. You can give her written instructions (what to wash with, what to put where, what cannot be interchanged, etc.), so that if necessary, do not waste time arguing and explaining, but simply refer to your internal set of rules.

You listen to her opinion from the housekeeper about everything in the world , including how terrible and careless it is to run an apartment like that … Or, for example, listen to her long stories about how hard life is for her and her family. Do not be afraid that you will be considered a callous person without a heart, just remember why she appeared in your house. You hired her to solve your problems instead of letting you in on her own.

Housekeeper: agency or private | LLC Pervaya Cleaning Service

Hiring a housekeeper is not an easy task. Especially if you need VIP category domestic staff. Do you need a housekeeper for Rublyovka? It is hardly worth trusting home staff offering their services on free bulletin boards.

In general, there are two most common schemes for finding domestic staff today. The first is the independent selection of housekeepers. You can search for them by ads, through forums, etc. The second is cooperation with a specialized company, a recruitment agency. If you need a highly qualified housekeeper, nurse (Moscow and Moscow Region), it is recommended to contact specialists.

Hiring a housekeeper: the difficulty of choosing

When choosing a specialist as a housekeeper, you need to remember a few important things. First of all, keep in mind that the appearance of a stranger in the house is a certain risk. And there are no exceptions to this rule. The employer risks his own reputation, property, and in some cases family well-being. Does it make sense in this case to save on the selection of domestic staff?

As for the profile of a specialist, today it is possible to hire a housekeeper in Moscow with different levels of training and experience. So, a specialist can perform standard duties or combine, for example, the duties of an au pair and a nurse.

Housekeeper on Rublyovka: checking a private trader

Have you decided to hire domestic staff without intermediaries? Do not be too lazy to check his work during the trial period. Modern technologies allow to carry out control in a hidden way. The easiest option is to install surveillance cameras.

Personal supervision of the housekeeper’s work will not hurt either. Its main principle is surprise. Do household staff perform their duties poorly? It is hardly worth giving a specialist a second chance. The range of services in the profile sector is wide. You can always find an au pair willing to meet your terms.

How much does a housekeeper cost in Moscow? The price of the services of private specialists varies widely. If it is an inexperienced housekeeper, the exit price may be minimal. But remember: the cost of services does not always reflect their quality. Often newcomers to the profession inflate their prices to compete with their more experienced colleagues.

How to hire a housekeeper in Moscow through an agency?

A wide range of services are offered to customers by agencies for the selection of housekeepers, Moscow is a city where such services are especially in demand. The profile company is engaged in the search, selection of specialists, organizes advanced training of domestic staff.

Hiring housekeepers through an agency is easy. The customer determines the current criteria for the selection of domestic staff. Agency specialists recommend candidates of the appropriate skill level. The decision to hire is made solely by the client. Did something go wrong with your housekeeper? The agency may offer a prompt replacement of a specialist. Other specialized domestic staff are selected and provided under similar conditions.

By hiring an experienced housekeeper through an agency, you save time and energy.

Bathyscaphe Titan: Titanic director James Cameron says OceanGate was warned

Image caption,

Director James Cameron made 33 dives to the wreck of the Titanic

Hollywood director James Cameron, who directed the cult movie Titanic and made many deep dives, told the BBC that immediately after the disappearance of the Titan submersible, he suspected the worst. The director also said that OceanGate, which organized the dive, was repeatedly warned about the danger of expeditions to the sunken Titanic.

The Titan bathyscaphe, carrying five people, stopped communicating 1 hour and 45 minutes after the start of the mission last Sunday. The search operation continued until the evening of June 22, when the wreckage of a bathyscaphe was found in the sea, not far from the site of the sinking of the Titanic. Experts believe that the device collapsed under the weight of water, all crew members died.

Cameron, who himself dived to the wreck of the Titanic 33 times, says that the picture of what happened became clear to him from the very beginning.

“I felt in my gut what happened. If the submarine’s electronics fail, its communication system fails, and the tracking transponder fails at the same time, the submarine is gone,” says Cameron.

The director said that he called his contacts among the submariners and an hour later he had a complete picture of what had happened. “They were diving, their goal was to descend to a depth of 3800 meters, at around 3500 meters they lost contact and the tracking system turned off. I immediately said that the loss of both systems could only be the result of some colossal catastrophe, ”recalls James Cameron.

  • The wreckage of the missing bathyscaphe was found 500 meters from the Titanic. The crew of the “Titan” was killed
  • Missing in the Atlantic “Titan”: how exactly can you find and save a bathyscaphe at such a depth?

According to him, the first thought was precisely that the capsule could be crushed by excessive water pressure.

At the moment, this is the main version of the death of the Titan. Experts use the term implosion to describe this phenomenon.

On Thursday, a US Navy spokesman told reporters that shortly after the Titan lost contact with the surface, the Navy detected “acoustic anomalies [i. e., noise] consistent with implosion.”

This information was passed on to the US Coast Guard team, which used it to narrow down the search area.

Cameron told the BBC that for him the past week “was like an extended nightmarish spectacle as the hustle and bustle continues with endless talk about knocks and oxygen and everything else.”

“I knew that the bathyscaphe was located exactly below the place where the last data about its depth and location came from. It was there that they found him, ”says the director.

He draws attention to the fact that the Titan was found very quickly only after the Victor 6000 remote-controlled submersible was deployed on Thursday. , there is a “terrible irony”. Prior to this, the director said in television interviews that the captain of the Titanic was repeatedly warned about the danger of icebergs, but he ignored these warnings.

Now, the director claims, history is repeating itself as OceanGate, which owned the Titan, was warned that it was, in one collective statement, “on a path to disaster.”

“Now we have another crash, unfortunately due to the same error of ignoring warnings,” Cameron said.

The Hollywood director is not the first to speak of concerns about the safety of OceanGate’s underwater expeditions. In particular, the New York Times obtained a letter written to OceanGate by the Marine Technology Society (MTS) stating that “the company’s experiments could lead to negative consequences.”

According to James Cameron, several employees have left the company in recent years.

Court documents related to another case show that a former OceanGate employee warned of potential safety issues with the submersible back in 2018.

Concerns about OceanGate’s technical criteria are also contained in one of the inspection reports signed by Marine Operations Control Company Director David Loughridge.

James Cameron is known for his love of the underwater world. He not only descended to the place of the sinking of the Titanic, but also plunged into the Mariana Trench, the deepest point of the oceans. Much of his latest film, Avatar: The Way of Water, takes place underwater.

Director of “Titanic” Cameron called the expected news about the explosion of the bathyscaphe “Titan” | World news | Izvestiya

American director James Cameron, who directed the Oscar-winning Titanic in 1997, said on CNN on June 22 that the news about the explosion of the Titan submersible in the Atlantic did not come as a surprise to him.

During the filming of the film, Cameron himself 33 times plunged to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean to the wreckage of the liner. According to the director, when he first heard about the incident with the bathyscaphe, he contacted deep-sea diving experts he knew and learned that the bathyscaphe had simultaneously lost communication and tracking.

“The only scenario I could think of that could explain this was implosion. The shock wave is so powerful that it actually disabled the secondary system, which has its own pressure vessel and its own battery power source, which is the transponder used by the ship to track the location of the submarine, ”Cameron explained.

According to him, he understood that the search for the missing group would be unsuccessful, although he hoped he was wrong.

In addition, the director pointed out the similarities between the Titanic disaster and the Titan tragedy. “I think it’s just amazing. It’s really quite surreal,” he said.

Cameron recalled that the Titanic sank because the captain set the ship at high speed on a moonless night with very poor visibility, despite warnings about the danger of collision with an ice floe.

The director expressed condolences to the families of the passengers of the bathyscaphe “Titan”.

Earlier in the day, the US Coast Guard confirmed that the wreckage found in the Atlantic Ocean was from the submersible Titan. According to Rear Admiral John Mauger, commander of the First Coast Guard District, a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) found the tail cone of the Titan on the seabed about 1,600 feet (487 m. – Ed.) From the bow of the Titanic “. Other debris was nearby.

The US Coast Guard confirmed an inward-directed explosion on the submersible Titan. OceanGate Expeditions also said it believed the passengers on the Titan were dead.

On June 19, OceanGate Expeditions reported the disappearance of the submersible Titan with its crew. He lost contact with the research vessel Polar Prince about 1 hour and 45 minutes after the dive on June 18 in the morning.

Five people were reported on board the submarine. Among them are British billionaire and explorer Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son, and French dive pilot Paul-Henri Nargolet.

On June 21, it became known that the hull of the missing submersible had technical problems, in particular, showed signs of cyclic fatigue.

Nannies and babysitters share the same primary responsibility of providing safe and enriching care for your child, but there are a few differences between them. Nannies are more commonly associated with regular work, whether full or part-time, offering daily or consistent care to a particular family. There are also several different types of nannies, including au pairs, house managers, doulas, live-in, and overnight nannies.

Babysitters, on the other hand, are typically hired for irregular or occasional work, either full or part-time. If you’re looking for last-minute care for date night, or the occasional few hours after school, a babysitter is a great best option.

Identifying the type and frequency of child care you’ll need is the best way to decide whether a babysitter or nanny is a better fit for your family.

Child care providers on Sittercity love providing enriching experiences for your children, and sharing their passions with them. They’re happy to participate in outdoor activities like sports, or indoor activities like music, baking, tutoring help, and art. Wherever your child’s interests lie, child care providers on Sittercity can engage them in a nurturing way.

3rd Grade Vocabulary Game Ideas

There are tons of simple games you can play to build vocabulary with children in third grade. Try to think outside of the box and use games that 9-11 year olds will really enjoy.

Vocab Musical Chairs

Play a unique game of musical chairs without the music.

  1. Set up chairs in a circle so you have one chair for all but one student.
  2. Kids will walk around the chairs while you read vocab words.
  3. Instead of playing music, read off a list of vocabulary words.
  4. When you say a word that isn’t from your class vocabulary list, kids have to sit down in a chair.
  5. The person who doesn’t get a chair is out.
  6. Remove one chair from the game and continue.
  7. The last child sitting is the winner.

Vocabulary Sentence Race

If you’re working with only one student, challenge them to a vocab sentence race. The objective is to use as many vocabulary words properly in sentences as you can.

  1. Split your vocabulary list into groups of ten words.
  2. For the first list, start by saying “I can use X number of vocabulary words in separate sentences.
  3. Both people take turns saying how many of those 10 vocabulary words they can use in separate sentences within one minute.
  4. When one person feels like the other won’t be able to do what they say, this person says “Go ahead, use those words in sentences.”
  5. Start the timer and the challenged player has one minute to use the number of vocabulary words they said they could use, each in a different sentence.
  6. If the challenged person uses the right number of words in proper sentences before time is up, they get a point.
  7. Each round is played the same, but uses a different list of 10 vocabulary words.

Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt

Use your vocabulary list as a scavenger hunt list. Head out on a walk around school or your town and try to find examples of each vocabulary word as you walk. If you find all the items on the list, you win.

Play With Words

This vocabulary list may only get you through a few weeks of vocabulary lessons in third grade depending on how many words you explore in a week. Continue building your 3rd grader’s vocabulary with 3rd grade high frequency words or fun vocabulary group games.

Compiling a spelling dictionary

  • What is a spelling dictionary? When do we contact him?

Answer:

A spelling dictionary is a dictionary containing a list of words in their correct spelling.
We turn to the spelling dictionary when we do not know how to write a particular word. In order not to make a mistake, we look up the word in the dictionary and learn about the spelling.

Number 1.

Read an excerpt from M. Yasnov’s poem.

Spelling Dictionary

For last year’s errors
It is difficult for me to watch the demon of a smile.
I write better than many in the class.
Padarok Vasya fell for me:
We studied all of January
Arphagraphic slavar.

  • What mistakes did the student make? Try to fix them. And if you can’t fix it yourself, then look in the spelling dictionary!

Answer:

Last year – last, so last year.
Mistakes is a dictionary word, which means mistakes.
To look – look, means to look.
Smiles – smile means smiles.
Lucci – best means better.
Padaril – a prefix in-, means, gave.
Padarok is a prefix in -, which means a gift.
Studied – spelling thick, so they studied.
January is a dictionary word, meaning January.
Arfagrafichisky is a dictionary word, which means spelling.
Slavar is a word, meaning a dictionary.

Number 2.

Read the textbook table of contents. List the rules of writing that you have learned.

Answer:

Spelling of unstressed vowels in the root of the word: windmill – wind.
Spelling paired by sonority / deafness of consonants: cube – cubes.
Unpronounceable consonant in the root: sun – sunny.
Doubled consonants: class, lasso, saturday.

Number 3.

Remember these rules. Give examples of words that have spellings for the studied writing rules.

Answer:

Spelling of unstressed vowels at the root of a word: in order to understand which vowel should be written in a word, you need to choose a single-root word or change the form of the word so that the vowel at the root is under stress.
Windmill – wind.

Spelling of paired consonants according to voicing / deafness: in order to understand which consonant should be written in a word, you need to choose a single-root word or change the form of the word so that after a voiceless consonant there is a vowel or sonorant.
Oak – oaks, tooth – tooth.

An unpronounceable consonant in the root: in order to understand whether an unpronounceable consonant is written in a given word, you need to choose such a root word or change the form of the word so that a sonorant or vowel comes after the unpronounceable consonant.
The sun is sunny, hello is health.

Doubled consonants: spelling of doubled letters in a word should be memorized or checked in a spelling dictionary. When transferring words with a double consonant, you need to make sure that one letter remains on one line, and the other on the other.
Saturday: Saturday.

Number 4.

Read. Which rule corresponds to each group of words?

Task for exercise 4 Answer:

The first group is the spelling of the checked unstressed vowel at the root of the word.
The second group is the spelling of the pair according to the deafness of the sonority of the consonant.
The third group is the spelling of the unpronounceable consonant.
The fourth group is the spelling of a separating solid sign after a prefix ending in a consonant.
The fifth group is the spelling of an unchecked unstressed vowel.

  • Choose any rule and make your own dictionary of words with spelling for this rule.

“I could sing the praises of Nanny Harmony all day long! Working with Brooke was an incredible experience.

From the moment our initial interview began, I could tell that Brooke had my best interest at heart. She really listened to my story and paid attention to the “why” for me when it came to nannying. As a nanny, I was thrilled to hear that the folks at Nanny Harmony have a great deal of experience as nannies themselves. That makes a huge difference, and it was evident throughout the process. It’s so apparent that Brooke loves this work and that she also just really loves people. She values the needs of both the nanny and the family, and because of that, I had a smooth transition into a job I love with a family that is a perfect fit! I’m deeply grateful.”

  • A long term nanny (full-time or part-time) is a professional who fits seamlessly into your family life to provide childcare, household assistance and family support. Full-time nannies work 35+ hours per week, while part-time nannies work 20-34 hours per week.

Most career nannies are offered $27-35+/hr, depending on their background and job expectations. Nannies earn a guaranteed weekly rate. (Don’t worry — we’re here to help guide you through this!)

**We require that families agree to compensating their household employee, legally, using a W-2 form.

  • Can your family use support in holding down the fort this summer? Hire a summertime nanny!

Our professional nannies are reliable, flexible for your family and hold themselves to a higher standard than a ‘back-up babysitter’. Many of our candidates have teaching backgrounds, tutoring experience, and impressive resumes. The market rate for experienced candidates is $25-30+/hour.

    PRICING: $1,875

One-time fee includes our time spent screening numerous candidates through a multi-step process, the cost of background fees, assistance with a written employment contract, and ongoing support.

  • Newborn Care Specialists (NCS’s), often misrepresented by the terms “baby nurse” or “night nanny,” are invaluable, highly-experienced individuals with extensive training centered around newborn care. While new parents catch up on must-needed sleep, an NCS is able to step in and implement healthy strategies for feeding, sleep schedules, and more. Their ability to lead the way takes giant pressure off of new parents’ shoulders during those first several weeks/months.

NCS’s (depending on experience and credentials) earn $35-50+/hour.

Most NCS’s are willing to work a schedule between 6-weeks to 6-months. For further NCS information, click here.

  • Are you frantically searching for quality care a lower cost?

Nanny shares are comprised of two families, who live close by, and often share similar needs in childcare. Both families pay 2/3 of the Nanny’s standard rate. (i.e. If their rate is generally $23/hour, they should earn around $34/hour, split by both families. This gives each family about a 30% discount, and the Nanny a well-deserved 30% pay increase for their extra efforts.

How to include babysitting experience on your resume (with tips and examples)

As a babysitter, you have the opportunity to improve the lives of the children you care for. This can be a viable career for those who love children and want to contribute to an environment that supports a child’s creativity, learning, and social, emotional and mental development. As with any job, it is important to demonstrate your skills and experience for the role.

In this article, we’ll cover what babysitting experience might include, explain when you should consider including babysitting experience on your resume, provide steps and tips for adding babysitting experience to your resume, and give some examples of resumes that include babysitting experience.

What is nanny experience?

Babysitting experience is any experience that you have taken care of children. This may include changing diapers, feeding children, arranging quiet time and sleep, driving children to school and other activities, working with children on age-appropriate projects, and other responsibilities. Perhaps you worked at a family or daycare, or babysitting regularly while you were in college.

When should you include babysitting experience on your resume?

It’s important to include babysitting experience on your resume so that hiring managers know that you’ve taken care of children in some way. This shows that you are responsible, driven and most likely creative, team oriented and reliable. You will definitely want to include a nanny resume on your resume if you are applying for a position with a company that provides childcare services to clients or a family that hires you directly to care for their children. Also consider including babysitting experience if you are looking for jobs in these places:

Treat babysitting experience as normal work experience and include it if it is relevant to the position you are applying for. By reading your CV and cover letter, the recruiting manager can be sure that your curriculum vitae is suitable for the position he is recruiting for.

How to add babysitting experience to your resume

Follow these steps to highlight your babysitting experience:

1. Write a goal

The career goal or resume is at the top of the resume and gives the recruiting manager some background information about yourself and why you are a good fit for the position you are applying for. Your resume should include the number of years of babysitting experience, any certifications that are relevant to the role, and a few adjectives that best describe you as an employee.

2. List all babysitting experience

Order your babysitting experience by employer, starting with the most recent. Consider the positions you held in high school, college and other educational institutions, as well as any work experience – from babysitting for neighborhood children to working in a multi-family babysitting service.

For each employer, list the dates you worked there, employer name, city and state, and your job duties and responsibilities. Also be sure to talk about the tasks you did outside of childcare, such as doing light housekeeping or grocery shopping for the family.

You may also list any relevant volunteer positions you have. List where you volunteered, dates, and any programs you helped create and organize.

3. Highlight your skills

The skills section is an important part of your resume because it helps the hiring manager learn more about you as a well-rounded candidate. Include items such as:

  • Organization

  • Musical instruments

  • floor games

  • Time management

  • Compassion

  • Responsibility

  • Self-motivation

  • Communication

  • Creativity

  • Language fluency

  • Excellent driving experience

Review the job description you are applying for to make sure you highlight the most important skills the employer is looking for.

4. Include details of your education in your resume

Create a section on your resume that lists your education. You may choose not to list your high school education if you have a college or university degree. In any case, please include the name of your institution, the degree you received, and your GPA if it is 3.5 or higher. Consider listing the titles of relevant courses you have completed, such as early childhood education, nutrition, literacy, and child psychology.

5. List your certifications

As a nanny, you may have some certifications that will help you excel at work, especially in certain circumstances. For example, you can receive first aid, water safety, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, as well as a Certified Child Care Professional (CCP) certification. When listing certifications, list the name of the certification or training and the time you received it. Your certifications can help you stand out from other candidates and the hiring manager can feel confident in your ability to care for children in a variety of situations.

Tips for including babysitting experience on your resume

Here are a few tips on how to effectively add babysitting experience to your resume:

  • List all your experience as a nanny. Even if you have performed the same duties in multiple positions, find a way to vary the wording you use on your resume, and still be sure to list those positions if you have held them within the last 7-10 years.

  • Subtract your resume. Before sending your resume to an employer, proofread it to make sure it is free of spelling and grammatical errors and that it is a coherent and readable resume for the hiring manager. Ask someone else to review your resume to get a fresh perspective on the situation.

  • Enter the age of the children you cared for. The employer may want to know how many years the children have been in your care. This may be relevant depending on the position you are applying for. For example, if you are applying to an elementary school, the principal may be impressed by your many years of experience caring for children of the same age that you will be working with in your new position.

  • Use action verbs. Action verbs add emphasis to your resume and help you stand out in front of the hiring manager. You can include action verbs such as managed, strengthened, developed, created, and expected.

  • Specify special circumstances. If you have cared for children with special needs who speak a different language or need tutoring, please provide this information.

  • Give examples. Your specific accomplishments can help the hiring manager get to know your background better. Provide examples and key details of your work tasks where relevant.

  • Submit your resume. A recruiting manager may receive multiple applications for the same position. Style your resume with bullets, bold headings, and other styles so your resume can be scanned and the hiring manager doesn’t have to scrutinize you as a candidate.
