Kauffman – SKOLKOVO Venture Capital Academy opens at SKOLKOVO Business School
Tuesday, 05 March 2013
Moscow, March 5, 2013. – Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and Kauffman Fellows Academy announce the launch of a new Kauffman educational program – SKOLKOVO Venture Capital Academy. For the first time, Kauffman will present his unique course outside of Silicon Valley.
This innovative 10-week Executive Education program is designed specifically for current and future venture capitalists in the country. The maximum task that the creators of the course set for themselves is to form a “smart money” segment in Russia, which would include strong venture funds, business angels and private investors.
During the competitive selection process, 20-30 candidates will be admitted to the program. The training structure assumes an integrated approach, which will include online lectures, seminars by world-renowned teachers and experts, and project work – the creation of independent funds or the development of existing ones.
Alumni of the program will be able to join a first-class community of partners, entrepreneurs and others in the industry as Kauffman International Members.
As part of the course, Kauffman – SKOLKOVO Venture Capital Academy students also have the opportunity to attend lectures and master classes at the SKOLKOVO Startup Academy, a program aimed at entrepreneurs working on their own startups.
“We are honored that the Kauffman Fellows Academy among all countries in the world has chosen Russia as a platform for launching a new program,” comments Vladimir Preobrazhensky, Director of Research at the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. “For the SKOLKOVO Business School, the addition of this program to the product line means that we continue our tradition of offering innovative educational courses.”
“The funds, and the companies they invest in, can no longer afford to be left out,” said Clint Korver, CEO of the Kauffman Fellows Academy. – Today, globalization covers all areas of activity, including talent, capital, markets and technologies. We hope that Russia will become an interesting “laboratory” for this innovative educational experiment.”
“We see great potential in Russia for developing business ideas and making smart investments,” says Val Jerdes, Partner at Innov8 Global Ventures. “Venture capitalists can’t sit around ad infinitum waiting for quality investment opportunities to hit the market, and entrepreneurs can’t mourn the lack of investment. They must develop together. We strive not only to provide knowledge that is useful for working in an innovative economy, but also to show instant results.”
The start of the program is scheduled for April 11, 2013, applications for admission are accepted from March 4 to April 4. Read more: http://www.skolkovo.ru/public/ru/vca/vca-about/

Open the Creative Cloud desktop app to make sure it’s running. Then go back to Adobe Premiere Pro and wait for some time to let your fonts sync.
The Save, Save As, and Open windows close automatically when you press Home, End, Delete, Page Up/Page Down, or any arrow keys.
Avoid pressing any of the mentioned keys when saving a project.
Are legacy/perpetual versions of Adobe Premiere Pro compatible with macOS Ventura?
No, legacy/perpetual versions of Adobe Premiere Pro were not designed or tested to work on macOS 13.

Is La Venture Middle School a charter school? ?What is a Charter School? A charter school in the US is a publicly funded school that operates independently of the traditional public school system. It is established under a “charter” granted by a local or state government agency, which allows the school to operate with greater autonomy and flexibility. Charter schools have the freedom to design their own curriculum, teaching methods, and educational approaches within the guidelines set by their charter. They are open to all students, free of charge, and are funded with public tax dollars. However, they often have limited enrollment capacity and may use a lottery system for admission. Charter schools are accountable for meeting specific academic, financial, and operational standards outlined in their charter, and they are subject to oversight by the granting authority.:

Free preschool in Colorado: How to apply for universal pre-K
A student teacher works with preschoolers at Lowry Elementary in Denver. Colorado’s free preschool application opens Jan. 17.
Carl Glenn Payne II for Chalkbeat
Inside Colorado’s free preschool initiative
Leer en español.
The parent application for Colorado’s new free preschool program opened at 8 a.m. on Tuesday — a major milestone in the march toward the program’s launch next summer.
The program, funded in part by a voter-approved nicotine tax, will offer 10 to 15 hours a week of tuition-free preschool to 4-year-olds statewide, with some eligible for 30 hours a week. In addition, some 3-year-olds will be eligible for 10 hours a week.
Free preschool in Colorado
The application for free preschool is open. Families who fill out the application by Feb. 14, will find out what preschool their child matched with around March 17.
Fill out the application here
State officials expect about 30,000 children to opt into the universal preschool program in its first year. That’s about half the number that will be eligible.
Here’s what families need to know about the online preschool application:
Who gets free preschool and what age do they have to be?
Three groups of children qualify: 4-year-olds, some 3-year-olds who need extra help, and a small number of 5-year-olds who are too young for kindergarten.
Let us explain. The new preschool program is designed for children in the year before they go to kindergarten — children who turn 4 before the state’s Oct. 1 cutoff date. The state will pay for 15 hours a week of preschool for these students at no cost to parents. Some preschool providers may offer only 10 hours a week — for example, a school district that offers K-12 classes only four days a week.
Some 4-year-olds will get 30 hours of free preschool a week, including those from lower-income families, who speak a language besides English at home, are homeless, in foster care, or have disabilities.
The new preschool program will also cover 10 hours a week of preschool for 3-year-olds in these same groups.
What about 5-year-olds who aren’t in kindergarten yet?
Some 5-year-olds will qualify for free preschool and some won’t. Children who live in school districts with kindergarten cutoff dates before Oct. 1 will qualify if they turn 5 after the district’s cutoff date and before Oct. 1. For example, a child in a district where children must turn 5 by Aug. 1 to attend kindergarten, will qualify for free preschool if they turn 5 in September. (The application may indicate these children are not eligible. State officials say families should contact the group coordinating universal preschool in their area if this happens. Search this county-by-county list to find contact information for the right local group.)
Five-year-olds who could go to kindergarten but have been held out by their families — a practice often called redshirting — won’t be able to get free preschool through the new state program.
What do I need to fill out the application? Are there income requirements?
Many families will need about 15 minutes and not much else. The application is offered in English, Spanish, and Arabic, and parents should be able to complete the application on a cell phone or computer.
Families whose household income qualifies their 4-year-olds for extra hours or allows them to enroll a 3-year-old will need to upload documents that prove their income. Families that earn up to 270% of the federal poverty limit — about $81,000 a year for a family of four — fall into this category.
If that describes you, this FAQ lays out which documents the state will accept for proof of household income.
Families who qualify for 3-year-old preschool or extra hours of 4-year-old preschool for reasons other than income levels — perhaps their child has a disability or is learning English — won’t need to show proof of income.
Check this FAQ for details about which documents the state will accept for proof of household income.
How do I know how many hours my child will get?
The online application system will tell you how many hours your child is eligible for after you enter a few pieces of information. There are four possibilities:
Not eligible: Your child is too young, too old, or doesn’t live in Colorado.
10 hours: If your child is 3 and meets one or more of the eligibility criteria.
15 hours: If your child is 4.
30 hours: If your child is 4 and meets one or more of the eligibility criteria.
Can I pick my child’s preschool?
Yes. Families will be asked to pick up to five preschools they’d like their child to attend and will be able to rank their choices. Options include school-based preschools, church-based preschools, preschool programs inside child care centers, and state-licensed home-based preschools.
Search and map functions are available to narrow down the choices. You can look for the program your child already attends or explore new options. Children will be prioritized for a spot in a preschool if they’re already enrolled there, if a sibling is enrolled there, or if a parent works there.
There are some cases where preschool providers may not accept a preschool match made by the application system. For example, a school-based preschool might turn away a child who lives outside district boundaries or an employer-based preschool that mainly provides care to children of company employees may not enroll the child of a non-employee. (During the application process, parents will see a blue banner indicating if selected preschools prioritize certain students.)
My child has a disability. What preschools can I pick?
If your child has a special education plan — officially called an Individualized Education Program, or IEP — your child will be served in a preschool classroom run by your school district. That’s because of the way special education laws are written.
If your child doesn’t have an IEP and you’re worried about a developmental delay, contact Child Find, the state’s early intervention program for 3- to 5-year-olds.
My child is 3. What preschools can I pick?
Three-year-olds will mostly be served in preschool classrooms run by their school districts. Some 3-year-olds may have non-school options, but only if their district partners with private preschools. That’s because of the way the state’s preschool law is written.
Parents of 3-year-olds won’t be able to select specific preschools on the state application. Instead, they’ll select their local school district. That’s because school districts are in charge of matching 3-year-olds to specific preschool programs.
What if I don’t see my child’s provider on the list?
Preschool providers don’t have to participate in the state’s universal preschool program, but more than 1,000 have chosen to and more are expected to sign up. State officials say if parents don’t find the preschool they want listed in the application system, they should reach out to the preschool provider and encourage them to sign up.
What if I need more hours than what my preschooler is eligible for?
You can still pay for extra hours above and beyond what the state covers for free, as long as the preschool offers more hours. You can also see if you qualify for financial help through other means, such as the state’s child care subsidy program for low-income families, called the Colorado Child Care Assistance Program.
Do I need to fill out the application right away?
Families who fill out the application by Feb. 24, the deadline for the first round of applications, will have more options and find out sooner which preschool they matched with.
The first application window runs from Jan. 17 to Feb. 24. (The original end date was Feb. 14, but state officials extended it.) Families will find out their match on March 30. State officials said families can still apply after Feb. 24, including through spring and summer.
I filled out the state’s preschool application. Do I have to fill out my school district’s school choice application, too?
Possibly. Some districts also want parents to fill out school choice forms if they want a spot in a district-run preschool. That includes Denver and Jeffco, the two largest school districts. If you choose a district-run option, check your local district’s enrollment website to see if they want you to apply there as well.
The state application will determine whether your child qualifies for free preschool and if so, for how many hours. It will also match 4-year-olds to a specific preschool. The district school choice system collects more information so that children can be enrolled in the program they matched with. For 3-year-olds, the district choice system is where families get matched with a specific preschool.
If families fail to fill out the district choice form, district officials they’ll reach out and work with them to get it done. In some cases, delays in filling out the district form could mean families end up with fewer preschool options.
What if I decide against the preschool my child was matched with?
You can reject the preschool match the state makes for you. However it’s possible you’ll have to resubmit your application.
When does free preschool start in Colorado?
Not until August or September, whenever the preschool program you matched with starts. Families will find out their matches sooner, but tuition coverage doesn’t kick in until late summer.
My child qualifies for free preschool. Can my preschool charge extra tuition or fees?
Yes and no. It depends how many hours of care your child needs each week.
Preschools participating in Colorado’s universal preschool program cannot charge families additional money — tuition, supply fees, or activity fees — for the free hours the child is eligible for through the state program.
However, preschools are allowed to charge for any additional hours they provide to a child above the number of free hours granted through the state. For example, if a 4-year-old receives 20 hours of preschool a week, but is only eligible for 15 free hours, the provider can charge tuition for the additional five hours, plus supply or activity fees for that extra time.
I have more questions. What should I do?
You have three options:
Check out the state’s universal preschoolfrequently asked questions page.
Contact the local group that’s coordinating the universal preschool program in your county or region. Here’s a county-by-county list of all the groups — the state calls them Local Coordinating Organizations or LCOs — with email addresses.
Contact the state’s help desk from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays. The number is 303-866-5223 and the email is [email protected].
Do you have a question you don’t see answered here or can’t find the answer to elsewhere? Let us know at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to find an answer.

Early childhood is an important period in a child’s development. Children learn a lot during the first 7 years of their life and acquire all the necessary abilities, as well as develop physical, social, emotional and educational skills. A child at preschool age is able to absorb a huge amount of information, gain basic knowledge and hone the skills that are necessary for further learning.
Educational materials for preschool children
Early development of a child is important as it provides the basis for future school achievements. Teaching preschoolers is effective only if the child is interested in learning and the activity gives him pleasure.
Taking into account the three most important characteristics of children’s and preschool education – “play, knowledge, activity” – we have created for you the opportunity to print educational worksheets, didactic and board games, exciting tasks and many other materials for children from 1 to 7 years old. Bright worksheets and didactic games help children learn and improve all kinds of skills in a playful way.
Fine motor skills and handwriting for children
The development of fine motor skills is an extremely important stage for children. Educational activities with colorful worksheets will develop the habit of regular study. You can choose and print materials for preschoolers that he will like:
educational games for sorting objects;
worksheets for finding matching pairs or matches;
tasks for the development of graphomotor skills and training of children’s writing skills;
educational coloring pages;
templates for cutting and crafts.
Math games, activities and worksheets for toddlers and preschoolers
At the age of 2-3 years, children are introduced to numbers and counting up to 10. They can recognize geometric shapes and solve simple problems. Math activities for preschoolers will help develop children’s thinking and good performance in school. Some helpful tips from Wunderkiddy:
Demonstrate the practical use of mathematics in real life. Pay attention to everything related to mathematics around you: shopping at the store, cooking according to a recipe, time, etc.
Practice math skills for preschoolers with things they are interested in: toys, candy, nature, appliances, stationery, etc.
Print out math games and worksheets for preschoolers to make learning activities fun and rewarding. Kids love the colorful and fun printables of educational materials, so our educational materials for toddlers will help develop an interest in learning.
Educational games for preschoolers on logic and critical thinking
You can learn to make the right decisions and think rationally even at preschool age. On our website, you can print educational games for logic and thinking for free to teach children to assess the situation and make the most correct and effective decisions.
Free Craft & Craft Templates
Print out paper craft templates and encourage toddlers’ creativity with crafts to decorate and play with. During creative activities, children develop imagination and thinking. Children also train other necessary skills: fine motor skills, cutting, logical and spatial thinking.
Games and tasks for the development of children’s memory
Printed educational memory games develop the child’s ability to acquire knowledge and memorize large amounts of information. The activities also help the child better organize and remember their daily tasks: cleaning the room, putting pencils in a pencil case, brushing their teeth, or helping parents with simple household chores.
Thematic worksheets and games for each child
The correct choice of the topic of the material is the key to a successful developmental lesson. If you choose a worksheet or print out an educational game on a topic that is interesting for the child, then he will be purposeful, interested and active.
Many tasks require attention and perseverance of preschoolers. For children, this can be a problem if they do things they don’t like.
Materials for the development and entertainment of children at home and not only
Select material by type, topic, category or age.
Download or print free PDF file.
If you want to reuse worksheets and games for children, we recommend laminated sheets of paper.
For some toys, you will need additional materials, such as Velcro electronic games, small cars, crayons or glue.
With a premium subscription, you can get exclusive educational games for preschoolers and other benefits on our website.
Wunderkiddy makes it easy and fun
We create e-learning materials that kids love and make learning fun and exciting.
We help parents. Lessons with a child do not have to be burdensome and expensive, you can work with your child at home using our free educational materials for children from 1 to 7 years old.

Development of preschool children
The period of preschool age of children in Russia falls on the time of attending kindergarten – 3-7 years. Ideally, children receive a comprehensive, age-appropriate education in a group, but there are situations when parents want more advanced education or the child does not attend kindergarten. Then all sorts of circles, development schools, online courses, and so on come to the rescue.
Today we will consider the most popular developmental activities for children aged 3 to 7 years.
The goal of early childhood development
Why develop preschool children? This question has a right to exist. indeed, when viewed from the outside, children are inquisitive and active enough to develop on their own. However, the overestimated requirements of the modern world change the vector of development from natural to accelerated.
It is at preschool age that the foundation for the unborn child is laid: thinking, memory, psyche, independence, self-esteem. Parents should choose classes and circles, taking into account the wishes of the child and encouraging any results.
It is best to proceed in development from the needs of the child and combine activities so that all areas of the personality are covered:
memory and thinking;
mind and emotions;
growth and physical development.
What classes to choose, we will consider further.
Additional activities for preschool children
Comprehensive development of children helps them to become intellectual, independent, sociable, purposeful in the future.
Development of memory and thinking
Children’s memory is very flexible and directly depends on the emotional background. Preschoolers are great at remembering the information that evoked emotions in them. That is why it is important to choose the right teachers and training programs. Monotonous reading or instructions will not give results, but bright pictures, poems and videos will bear fruit.
By the age of 6, the child begins to understand the causal relationship, to monitor his actions, at this age, teachers recommend starting preparation for school.
Development of the psyche and emotions
Psycho-emotional development of a child – a start for a healthy self-awareness. Excessive loading of the child with activities, games and circles greatly depletes the body, therefore, along with intelligence, it is important to fill the child with positive emotions:
trips to the circus and theater;
joint games with peers;
watching movies and cartoons with parents;
travel.
It is up to adults whether a child grows up as a full-fledged personality. His behavior and hobbies should be encouraged and accepted.
Physical development of a preschool child
It is customary to devote most of the time to physical development: swimming, tennis, athletics, football, martial arts – all these circles are available to children even in state kindergartens.

Notes from past and current clients:
Jaime,
I typically don’t do this, but I really wanted to thank you and Nicki for everything you have done for Kiersten & Kameron. We have watched our kids grow and learn from both of you
more than we could ever imagine. You are the standard that all child care centers(home or stand alone) should adhere to. You both are compassionate, caring, and take care of our children like they
are your own. I can assure you that anybody looking for childcare we will make sure and send your way. You have been more than a babysitter for our children and for that we can’t thank you
enough.
Jeff
As a first time mom, I couldn’t have been more stressed over selecting a day care for
my little girl. From the very first time that I entered Kids Korner and met Jaime and Nikki, I knew this was the place for us. I can honestly say that after 3 years of being at Kids
Korner, my choice to send my little girl here has been validated almost daily. I am truly amazed at all my 3 year old knows – sight words, Spanish, manners, songs….I could go on and on.
Not only do I feel that my little one is getting a top notch education, she is getting love. It warms my heart every day to see the genuine love they have for her. These ladies show so
much love for not only my little girl, but also my entire family. I don’t consider Kids Korner a babysitter/day care/pre-school, I consider them an extension of my family. Since I can’t
be home with my little girl every day, there is no place I would rather her be than Kids Korner. These ladies do what they do because they love it and love the kids.

I would recommend this daycare to any mom. The staff are very professional and welcoming. Love to see the monthly planning for the school and all the fun activities they do with the children. Like any child,my little girl has gotten bruises, has fallen while running in the playground – but I still trust them with my child. I cant stand moms leaving comments like their child has always been inside this crystal ball has never fell while being with them. All the ladies in this place try their ultimately best to care for our children. Where do I start? My son loves going to school. Yes I said it SCHOOL, this is beyond a daycare center. Mrs.Forbes and her staff create a safe learning environment for the children. My son has been going to thisdaycare since he was 7 months. We have witness him make tremendous progress since day 1. Mrs. Forbes the owner and director is very passionate about educating the children from the time they step foot into the building. The staff also follows suit as well. Everyone is dedicated to make sure the children are learning, playing, meeting milestones, and most importantly being safe. Once again this is not a daycare it is a School. I appreciate the staff and Mrs. Forbes….

If you are one of those moms that is going to complain because a child pushed your child -then I recommend you stay home and care for your own child….

More and more in today’s world both parents have employment and need suitable day care centers for their children. These early stages in a child’s life are very important to their growth and development. Choosing a good child day care center is vital, one where the adult won’t just plunk your children down in front of a soap opera all day and feed them Top Ramen. You should look for day care centers that provide learning programs and playtime for your child, along with a safe and healthy environment.
There are many different types of day care centers, ranging from basic nurseries to preschools that will provide more of a learning environment for your children. Some day care centers specialize in a specific age range, while others are more open. When you’re contemplating placing your child in a specific day care center, you should visit each one with your child. In this way, you can see how your child reacts to the other children who are there and to the caregiver. You want your child to be happy and comfortable.
While some day care centers provide a greater variety of activities than others, any good day care center is going to encourage positive interaction among all of the children. They will also have rules that promote good behavior, learning, manners, and child development. You certainly don’t want to have to worry that your child is going to develop bad habits from day care.

While you don’t need to go overboard in choosing suitable day care centers, you should approach the subject seriously and with thought. Your child is going to be spending a good-sized portion of his or her life in day cares and you want to make sure it is going to be a positive experience. Family is the most important thing in the world and you should make sure that your children are your first priority. When you are considering a day care center, you should look at where it is located and how much it costs. There’s not much sense in putting your son or daughter in daycare so that you can work full time and spending most of what you earn on the day care center’s tuitions and your travel expenses. If that’s the case, you might as well stay home with your child. However, if you do truly need the money, there are usually plenty of day care services available and it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one close by that is reasonably priced.
Different Kinds of Child day Care Centers
While child day care centers are common, there is such a huge demand for this service that there are now quite a variety of options available other than basic day care. These include the following:
Home child care or family childcare
Child care services
Preschool
Nursery
Home child care tends to be the most popular option because it is generally more affordable and a smaller environment. While some day care centers are quite large and can provide better early childhood education, it is also more difficult for each child to receive personal attention. Day care centers that are based out of someone’s home are usually more personal and your child can receive more care and nurturing. Most parents want their children to be receiving love and affection, the care that they themselves would give them. They don’t want a day care business that is merely going to make sure that their child is still alive and adequately healthy.
Home child care providers are also more adaptable, generally speaking. This means that if your child likes a certain song sung to them before they take their nap each day, the home care provider is more likely to be willing to do that than someone in a larger day care facility. Most adult home child care providers are parents themselves, making them better able to understand and love your child.
Other Things to Think About
One of the first steps you should take after picking out a family day care center that you think will be suitable for your child is do a little investigating. This can involve talking to the parents of the other children that use the child day care center to see what they think about it. You should also always check to make sure the child care service you are considering is legally licensed to operate in your state. Licensing officials check criminal records and ensure that the child care provider has emergency response training and a safe and healthy environment for the children. As mentioned earlier, it is a good idea to visit the child day care center that you are considering. You should do this at least a couple of times, and try to go at different times of the day so that you can get a better idea of what kind of schedule they have. This will help you to see how your own child would fit in. If you are having difficulties finding the appropriate child care environment for your son or daughter, there are some other options. Some people get family and friends to help out, while others hire a nanny. Adult nannies are a good option because they ensure that your child receives personal attention and quality child care. However, this also means that your child will not receive as much social interaction since he or she won’t have other children to play with like in a family day care center.
No matter what option you decide to go with, make sure that you know who you are leaving your child with. Meet them, get to know them, and let your child do the same. Do some research on the internet to make sure that no one has had negative experiences with the day care center you are considering. Check to make sure that they are legally licensed. Once you have done all of this, you can feel more confident and secure in knowing that you have chosen the right day care center for your child.
Switching Day Care Centers
Choosing Another Child Care Provider
So you want to switch day care providers for your kids but you don’t know where to start or what to choose among the plethora of options out there in this world. It is fittingly one of the most important decisions of a young parent’s journey due to the fact that a child’s first formative years up until the age of six is critical. It is important for parents to not just consider the monetary impact of these choices but also the emotional, intellectual, and social future impacts the choice of a day care provider will have on their kids in the long term future. So let’s discuss some general tips to consider for the parent and the child to consider when one is looking to switch day care providers within a short time frame.
First, you must consider the cost of attending some of the more prestigious and rigorous day care provider centers in your area. In some areas, let’s face the reality that the more money per month per child spent; the better the facilities and the educational value experience offered for your child. Things such as using smart boards and I Pad’s to enhance the learning experience is a very real possibility in these places. However, if a parent is budget conscious they can still afford this experience but it would mean cutting back on all or most non-necessity spending. This would include curbing your eating out habits as well as any leisure entertainment or travel activity and place that money instead into your child’s future day care home. If an expensive day care sees that you are making an effort to keep up with the payments; then they will be more willing to work with you and not let your child leave that place. For a child going to this environment, they need to consider whether or not they will fit into this environment, things like playtime, feeding time, and individual care of the staff- is it received well by the child? These will make the difference between choosing these ones or a cheaper alternative. Cheaper is not all bad if the quality and availability of care is there for your child in the first place.
Secondly, you need to consider your travel times and distance of day care relative to your work and other important places like the hospital, grocery store, bank, and places that you frequent on a daily basis. Is it near enough that you can get to your child should he/she become ill or need special attention so that the day care center can contact you and arrange a meeting with you the same day if needed.
Furthermore, you need to consider the overall cleanliness and friendliness of the day care center provider. Do not underestimate a clean environment for your kid to play and learn in with other kids. Your kid will enjoy making new friends in a clean and safe environment. Plus you as a parent will enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that your child will not be being home any unwanted germs and diseases into your house. Parents must also consider if there is a dispute over payment and care; how does the management and staff deal with such requests? If there is a lackadaisical approach to your core issues; then that is a bad prelude of things to come concerning your child’s care. Your child will probably feel like he/she is being neglected or not fed on time and will start to complain to you ever so slightly that something is not right. When they do, do not hesitate to take them out of that day care center and find another one immediately.
In a recessionary economy, it is okay and permissible for both parents and kids to demand the best care for their dollar. Make your day care dollar stretch by reading all of the material and brochures and visiting every day center on your list until you find that perfect fit for your child. It’s out there; it is just waiting on you to find it!
Child Care Options for Low Income Families
One of the most frustrating aspects of being a working citizen is not having the ability to afford childcare. The majority of day care facilities charge as much as $300 per week for each child. That amount is difficult for middle-class citizens to pay. Low-income families cannot fathom paying such an expense. Luckily, the government and the various states have developed programs that help low-income families get the childcare they deserve. The following is some information on those programs:
Extended Day Program
The extended day program can assist low-income working parents during the regular school year. Many school districts offer this program. The school keeps children before and after school hours for a small monthly fee. A parent can drop a child off as early as 7:00 a.m. and pick the child up as late as 6:00 p.m. This program is excellent for low-income workers with daytime weekday jobs. The cost is approximately $150 per month for before and after school. The weekly rate is approximately $37.50, which is extremely competitive.
The attendants participate in various activities with the children before and after school. They help the children with their homework so that the parents have less stress when they come home from work. They give the children a full breakfast in the morning program and a snack in the evening program. Parents can opt to pay for the morning program only, the evening program only, or both programs. The evening program is the more expensive of the two because it lasts so many hours after the school releases the children. The evening program is $100 while the morning program is $52.
The Child Care Assistance Program
CCAP is a special program that provides childcare assistance to certain low-income families. People who are collecting TANF are automatically eligible to receive this assistance. Teenage parents who are working on obtaining their educations are also eligible for CCAP. Those who are not collecting TANF can still qualify if they are pursuing education that will improve their work skills and job opportunities. Parents can apply for CCAP assistance with the Department of Children & Family Services. The financial guidelines for qualification are along the lines of a $3,000 per month income threshold for a four-person family. The applicant must have proof of income, social security cards, birth certificates, and immunization records for all children. Application processing can take up to 30 days.
Head Start
Head start is a program for children between the ages of three and five. The program provides childcare services and medical services to the children who qualify. It is funded by the Administration of Children’s Services. The Head Start program covers childcare from 7 a. m. to 5 p.m. Teachers work with the children to fine-tune their social and developmental skills. Those who are interested in the program may apply online. Applicants go on a waitlist until there is an available slot in the program. It is best for an interested person to complete an application as quickly as possible since the wait may be extended.
Child Care Voucher Program
The Child Care Voucher Program is in effect in many states throughout the United States. It provides a subsidy of up to 95 percent of childcare cost to low-income families. Subsidy recipients will choose an eligible provider from the list of licensed providers. They may also select a relative or an in-home provider. The Child Care Voucher Program covers the childcare from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday. This is known as the traditional childcare period. However, the program also covers non-traditional times for parents who work odd shifts. It covers nights, weekends, and evenings.

What are Flashlight Games?
First and foremost, what is a flashlight game, and how do you play it? It’s easy. As the name suggests, Flashlight games are games that you can play with a flashlight. There are so many games you can invent with a flashlight. The only downside is that flashlight activities can only be played in the dark.
Have you ever made shadow puppets with your siblings or friends? Well, that is a flashlight game too. These games have evolved over the years to numerous versions and inventions.
Don’t just limit flashlight games to your home. You can play them outside during camping, halloween, or any occasion.
Let me take you on a flashtastic journey on the best games you can play at home and outdoors.
Best Flashlight Games for Campers!
These are some of the top choices for flashlight games to make your camping trip the most fun and memorable.
Flashlight Charades
If you like to play charades, you will LOVE flashlight/ shadow charades!
This shadow charade game combines charades and shadow puppets that you can play in teams. Just like regular charades, one person can write different topics or actions (for example, swimming) on pieces of paper and place them in a bowl. After each team has taken a piece of paper, the selected participant will act it out.
The selected team member stands next to a tent or a large tree, and a flashlight will be shown towards their hand. The campers can take turns making guesses based on the shadow puppets.
Firefly Tag
Don’t worry; you won’t need to have real fireflies for this game!
The flashlight firefly game is a type of flashlight tag but a bit more fun and creative. One person will become the “firefly” or the hider, and the rest will have to seek you. Once everyone has closed their eyes and started counting, the firefly will find a good hiding spot. (beware– if you are at a camping site, please do NOT wander off too far into the forest).
You can flash your flashlight and move to another hiding spot. The goal for the fellow seekers is to catch the firefly and tag them.
Morse Code Cracking
Do you and your kids love spy movies? Wouldn’t it be amazing to learn a new language with your kids? This fun game is called morse code cracking.
Send each other morse code messages in the dark by using a flashlight and a part of the tent. Have an adult use a flashlight to send the group a message in Morse code. The first person to decipher the message wins! Your children will be thrilled when they think about speaking a secret language!
Capture the Flag
Capture the flag is one of the best flashlight games campers can play. Firstly, separate the players into two teams and split the area into two sides. For flags, you can use a flashlight or glow sticks. Another option is giving each player a glow bracelet that matches their team’s flag.
The teams can hide the flag anywhere as long as it’s visible. Each squad also chooses a location to serve as its “jail”. A player who is tagged while on enemy ground is imprisoned in the “jail” of the opposing squad.
Finding and bringing the opposing team’s flag to your team’s side of the field is the objective of the game.
Spooktastic Halloween With Flashlights
Although dressing up and trick-o-treating is fun during Halloween, it can be even better when you add flashlight games to the mix. These games can be played all year round, but they are extra joyful when merging ghouls and flashlights.
Scavenger Hunt
The nighttime scavenger hunt is an enjoyable game to play with your kids. You can change the level of difficulty depending on their ages. All you have to do is have your kid form a team and give the team leader a flashlight, you can let them compete with each other too.
For the scavenger hunt, hide different types of objects around the house and provide the kids with the list of the things that are hidden and let them find those.
The Ghost is Out
The ghost is out, or ghoul in the graveyard, is a spooktacular game for kids. This game is the opposite of firefly tag. You must first choose a “home base” such as a tree or a house. The ghoul then hides after every player is handed a flashlight and proceeds in search of the ghost.
The first player to discover the ghoul is secure from being tagged and cries, “GHOUL IN THE GRAVEYARD,” remaining with the ghoul. The other players will then need to run to home base, or they will be the next “ghoul” if they are captured.
I Spy
Have you played I spy before? It’s very straightforward, you look at an object and describe it without giving away the name, and let the other players guess.
It’s the same concept. except you are playing with all the lights out, and the only source is a flashlight. This lovely game can be played with any age group, even toddlers.
Spooky Storytelling
A family favorite for many. Who doesn’t love scary stories? Well, why not top the suspense up a notch with a flashlight!
The storyteller will be the person holding the flashlight. They can keep the flashlight under their chin for theatrical effects or use shadow puppets, then hand over the flashlight to the next person to tell another spooky story.
Pumpkin/Egg Hunt
Have you ever played an Easter egg hunt in the dark?
Why not get creative and try it with mini pumpkin toys or eggs painted as pumpkins?
This is a beautiful game to play, especially if you have younger children. It would be best if you had a big yard or open space for this. Hide the pumpkins around the yard and give each kid a flashlight to find the objects. You can make it a competitive game to see which kid collects the most “pumpkins.”
No Light No Problem! Indoor Flashlight Games for Kids
Have you ever wondered what kind of games you can play indoors, even without electricity? With just a flashlight, gather your family around to play these amazingly fun flashlight games.
Shadow Puppets
The most classic flashlight game is the shadow puppet show! The shadow puppet game requires you to lay the flashlight on a table and shine the light on a wall.
Teach your child to make different animals or people on the wall by placing their hands in various positions. This is an excellent game for younger kids to let their imaginations run wild.
Flashlight Limbo
Flashlight limbo is easy. You use the flashlight beam like a limbo pole! One person shines the flashlight at a wall and has all the players try to pass underneath the beam, like in a typical limbo game.
Lower the flashlight each turn until one person’s shadow breaks the beam of light as they pass underneath.
Flashlight Dance and Freeze!
Imagine having a great dance party at home then the power goes out. In a world of smartphones, you can create a flashlight dance party! You can select one person to shine the flashlight and allow everyone to dance for a minute.
The chosen person will shine the flashlight on someone, forcing them to immediately freeze and keep shining the light on different people. A person is out if they are unable to freeze.
This is a great game to play with your family. You can play without the flashlight freeze. Use the flashlight to get everyone grooving! Give everyone a different colored light, then let them dance! The individual with the goofiest dance moves wins.
Hide and Seek
Another classic is flashlight hide and seek. The hiders will find a hiding place after the seeker is given a flashlight. Before setting out on a search, the seeker must close their eyes and count down from at least 20.
They use the flashlight to search for everyone until they are located. The kids can continue playing till everyone has been the seeker.
Flashlight Constellations
Flashlight constellations or paper cup constellations is a fun guessing game for crafty kids. If your kids are very creative, they can make real or imaginative constellations.
To create these, each individual will draw the constellations on black paper, then place it over a tiny paper cup and make holes at the bottom of it. Turn your flashlight on and put it under the cup so that the holes will illuminate like stars in the sky when flashed against a ceiling or wall.
Flash Photography
If you have instagram or TikTok, you must have heard of the “aurora” trend, where a shadow image of the person is created while dancing to Aurora’s runaway song. If you are a crafty person, try flashlight photography! You can create silhouettes with your shadows and take pictures.
Final Words
It looks like we have come to the end of your flashlight adventures. I hope you had a blast getting to know the fun flashlight games for kids.

Flashlight games are the perfect way for kids to enjoy the outdoors when the sun goes down.
One great benefit of Cub Scouting is that it gets our kids outside. When the time changes and it get dark earlier, playing outside can be a bit of a challenge. But with these 10 flashlight games for kids (and a little supervision), our Scouts can still enjoy the outdoors.
1. Lightning Bug Flashlight Game
One player gets to be the Lightning Bug. Holding the flashlight, that player goes and finds a hiding place somewhere in the playing area. The other players then go looking for the Lightning Bug.
Every 15 seconds or 30 seconds (you can decide on the appropriate amount of time for your group), the Lightning Bug flashes their flashlight on and off once. When the flashlight goes off, they hurry to find another hiding place.
By flashing the light, the Lightning Bug is giving the other players a chance to alight on the his or her hiding spot. They’ll need to use their intuition to decide where the Bug will hide next.
The person who finds the Lighting Bug gets to be the next Lightning Bug.
2. Shadow Puppet Show
Flashlight games wouldn’t be complete without shadow puppets. Shadow puppets is a great game for the imagination! Whether you are indoors or outdoors, this game will provide hours of entertainment.
Give your kids flashlights, and teach them about shadow puppets. Have your child lay the flashlight down on a table so the light is shining on a wall.
If you’re on a campout, project the light on the side of a tent.
Then decide what the “play” will be about.
Next, it’s showtime! Let them begin placing their hands in different positions to make different animals or people on the wall.
You can also cut out different animals, people, or objects, and glue them on craft sticks. Let their imagination run wild!
3. Shadow Charades
Who doesn’t love a good game of shadow charades? Think of it as charades meets shadow puppets.
You can play charades with teams, or you can play as individuals. For this game, we’ll assume that one person is acting, and everyone else gets to guess.
An adult or a den chief can be in charge of topics. They can write out the charade topics on slips of paper and put them in a bowl. Each participant then selects a topic to act out.
Alternatively, the person can just whisper the topic to the participant.
Here are some camping-themed charade ideas that you might want to use.
Making s’mores
Eating s’mores
Putting on bug spray
Pitching a tent
Catching a fish
Building a campfire
Rolling up a sleeping bag
Singing campfire songs
Swimming
Using a compass
The first participant stands near a wall (or the side of a tent), and the adult or den chief shines a flashlight toward their hands.
The Cub Scout then tries to make shadow puppets on the wall to reflect what they were given to act out. The rest of the den or pack tries to guess what they’re acting out.
4. Flashlight Limbo
The next one of our flashlight games is Flashlight Limbo. Grab a flashlight, and use it like a limbo pole!
Start by pointing a flashlight at a wall or side of a tent. Hold it so that the beam is fairly high up.
Next, have the Scouts try to pass underneath the beam just like you would a limbo pole.
For each round, lower the flashlight some. If a Scout’s body breaks the beam of the flashlight as they pass underneath, they’re out.
5. Scavenger Hunt in the Dark
A scavenger hunt is a great addition to our list of flashlight games. Depending on the ages of the participants, decide how hard or easy your scavenger hunt will be.
Give each player a flashlight, or split up into teams with the team leader being the only one with a flashlight.
Before dark, hide items around the house or yard, just like a regular scavenger hunt.
Or head outside to identify things that the kids should find–rocks, sticks, dead leaves, insects, etc.
Just remember the Outdoor Code. You might want to have the kids just check off that they saw one of the items rather than collecting it to bring back to you.
The children can start the hunt using their flashlights when it’s dark outside!
6. Flashlight Freeze
Let’s see those goofy dance skills for this flashlight game! Turn the music on, and have the Scouts break out their silliest moves to the music.
Have an adult slowly move the flashlight beam around the room. When it hits one of the Scouts, they freeze in place. If they move, they’re out.
7. Morse Code Cracking
Who doesn’t want to be a spy? Print these Morse Code charts, and pass them out to your “spies”. Then tell them to watch for a code to crack.
Have an adult send a Morse Code message with a flashlight to the group. Whoever decrypts the message first wins!
You can make this even more fun by having a prize. Hide the prize in advance. The message can be its location.
8. Flashlight Follow
This game is fun for all ages, but especially for the younger kids. Turn your flashlight on and move it around. Have the Scouts try to jump into the circle of light as it moves around the room.
9. Capture the Flag
This game is the most fun in a big, open field with some trees and things to hide behind. Instead of using regular flashlights, have your Scouts wear headlamps.
Divide the space into two sides, and divide the players into two teams.
Each team will hide a flag on their side. The players from the other side must cross over, find, and retrieve the flag. Then they must run it to safety on their side without being tagged by the opposing players.
If they are tagged they must go to “jail.” The other players on their team can get them out of jail by tagging them and running back to the safety of their side without being tagged by the opposing players.
10.
Storytelling
The idea of storytelling with a flashlight is similar to stories around the campfire. Start by having everyone sit in a circle.
The person holding the flashlight is the one telling the story. What they do with the flashlight will depend on the story being told.
A favorite is placing the flashlight under the chin to light up the storyteller’s face. Flashlights can also be used to highlight objects of interest during the course of the story.
Flashlight Games for National Flashlight Day
National Flashlight Day is on December 21st. It’s the same day as the Winter Solstice which is the shortest day, but longest night of the year.
Will your Cub Scouts enjoy playing these flashlight games on National Flashlight Day?
Yours in Scouting, Sherry

When you have a young child, preschool and daycare come into play faster than you might expect. What is the best age for your child to start? Today we’re going to take a look at when a child will get the most benefit out of daycare, how long they may need to stay at daycare, and the benefits of enrolling. When you’re looking to enroll your little one in preschool or daycare, call Texas Children’s Academy. We want to help your child start life on the right foot.
-What Age Should A Child Start Daycare At?
Research has shown that the best age for a child to start daycare at is at least 12-months-old. Now, just because that is the earliest age many people say is acceptable, that does not mean that your child will be ready for daycare that early. The biggest consideration you need to keep in mind is how your child reacts to being away from you. Some studies have shown that starting daycare too early creates increased stress levels in infants, so it’s a balance that you have to strike. The two questions you need to ask yourself are, 1) “How long will my child stay at daycare each day?” and 2) “What is my child’s natural stress level?”
-How Long Will They Be At Daycare?
Up until three years old, infants experience much higher stress levels when they are left at daycare for a full day. For most children, it’s recommended they stick to half days until they are at least three, whenever possible.
-What Is Your Child’s Natural Stress Level?
Every kid is different, so you are the best judge of your child’s stress and demeanor. A child that is typically easy going and calm will have a much easier time adjusting and adapting to childcare. If your child gets anxious easily, they are going to experience much more separation anxiety when away from you. When you’re not sure, you can try some half-days a few days a week just to see how they respond, then slowly extend the time until they are acclimated.
-Benefits Of Daycare
When your child is ready, there are many benefits to be gained, both for them and for you.
Early-age socialization with kids their own age teaches valuable social skills that will be used later in life. They will learn how to share, solve problems, and work as a team, which is all invaluable to ensure their success later, in school and life.
Provides an opportunity to make friends early in life, making the experience less lonely or isolating.
Being around other children will help them build a stronger immune system. Sure this means when your child starts daycare, they may get sick a few times, but it’s actually building up their natural defenses. That means fewer colds and fewer missed school days as they grow up.
By starting education early, they are more prepared for learning activities going forward, allowing them to make the most of them.
You’re going to get some time to yourself or adult interaction which, when you have a young child, we know is hard to come by.
Enrolling your child in daycare can have incredible benefits, but it’s important to take all of these things into account. When you are looking for daycare for your little one, call Texas Children’s Academy. We want to give them the tools to succeed.
Is There a Best Age to Start Daycare?
The age at which your child starts daycare often depends on your employment, the length of your maternity leave, and whether you have relatives or a paid caregiver who can help you with childcare at home.
Many daycare centers care for babies from the age of six weeks, but it’s the quality of the daycare that matters most.
If you can wait until your child is a toddler, there are some signs to look for to help you decide if your child is ready for a daycare or preschool setting.
For some families, daycare is a lifesaver, letting parents get back to work secure in the knowledge that their infants are taken care of and safe. For others, letting go of their babies every morning is difficult and fills them with anxiety as they return to their jobs.
For still other families, daycare represents an educational opportunity for their toddlers to learn, grow, and socialize to get ready for school. At the same time, it gives the caregiver at home time to work, take care of other kids, or simply take a break.
Whatever your situation and reasons for choosing daycare, the first time you leave your child at a young age can be tough. You are likely to be filled with worries and questions about whether you made the right decision about your childcare.
That’s okay, and it’s something most parents go through. Remember that the best age to start daycare will be different for every child and every family.
Daycare Age: When to Send Your Child to Daycare
The age at which your child starts daycare may not be entirely your personal choice. Finding care for your child outside the home will depend on your employer’s policies and the length of your parental leave.
Your decision to start daycare will also depend on whether any family members can help you and whether hiring a paid caregiver is an option for you. Quality daycare is often the most cost-effective and convenient childcare option for many working parents.
Is my baby too young for daycare?
Opinions on the optimal age for starting daycare vary. Some experts suggest children should not go to daycare until they are twelve months old. Others say that infants up to seven months of age find the transition to daycare easier than older infants. Still others say you should keep your children at home as long as possible.
However, many daycare centers take babies from a minimum age of six weeks, when most maternity leaves end in the US. If you are worried about sending your young baby to daycare, remember that sending children younger than a year old to daycare is not unusual.
In 2019, the National Center for Education Statistics reported some helpful findings that show that many families are in the same boat regarding infant and early childhood daycare. They found that:
42% of children under the age of one received some kind of weekly nonparental care.
Of those children, 32% were in daycare settings.
The American Academy of Pediatrics says that the type of childcare of your child receives is less important than the quality. What matters more than your child’s age is that you feel confident about the childcare center and comfortable that the staff is caring, qualified, and knowledgeable.
Is it ever too late to start daycare?
Older children may find the transition to the structured environment of daycare more difficult than young babies. This is because they have greater emotional maturity and understand more about what is happening. As a result, it may take a two-year-old more time to adjust to long periods away from a parent than, for example, a four-month-old.
However, if you have cared for your child at home yourself, with the help of relatives, or with a nanny, you may still want to consider some kind of daycare setting for your young child before they start school at the age of five.
If you’re weighing the pros and cons of daycare, you should know that daycare has many benefits for children who are approaching school age. Structured childcare or preschool allows toddlers to socialize with other children, learn to trust teachers, and practice skills like cooperation, sharing, and collaboration.
Being in a group setting is a great way to expand and encourage language skills, creative play, and friendship for toddlers. In addition, time spent away from parents and understanding that they come back is part of a child’s emotional development.
Signs That Your Child Is Ready for Daycare
Kids will start daycare at different ages. However, if you have some flexibility in deciding when to send your child to daycare, there are some signs to look for that may let you know that they’re ready:
Sign
What It Means
They understand instructions.
Your child will be ready to follow rules and fall into the routines easily at daycare.
They show independence.
Your child will be able to separate from you at drop off and move between activities.
They are curious about other children.
Your child is ready to interact, communicate, practice social skills, and start learning about friendship with other kids.
They are potty trained, or close to it.
Some daycares assist with potty training. Check the daycare policy and make sure your child is prepared in advance.
They are communicative.
Your child will be able to express themselves and their needs to the staff and other kids.
If your toddler is showing some of these signs, they may be ready for daycare. You also know your child’s personality best, so you’ll have an instinct about whether it’s time for them to go into childcare with other kids.
Signs That Your Child Is Not Yet Ready for Daycare
A daycare is often full of light, sound, and color. They tend to be noisy and joyful environments full of social interaction with lots going on all the time. They will be filled with toys, activities, food, and other stimulating elements.
Not all toddlers will be ready to dive into the daycare environment if they have only ever experienced a single caregiver. They will be separating from you while at the same time, navigating new relationships, rules, and activities. Understandably, daycare can be overwhelming for some young children.
If you’re not sure whether it’s time to put your child in daycare, there are some signs to consider to help you decide:
Sign
What It Means
Your child still needs naps.
While full day daycare programs will build in nap times, they will do so according to age group and on schedule.
If your child has not dropped to one nap a day yet, they may find a day at daycare challenging.
Your child has a condition that you’re concerned about.
Children with developmental delays, suppressed immune systems, and sensory sensitivity may just need more time before they are ready to enter a daycare environment.
You may need more time as a parent to find a daycare with the right environment for your child’s needs.
Your child is anxious and finds separation very difficult.
If you have a clingy toddler, they may need more time practicing being away from you in the care of relatives or a nanny to adjust to separation.
Your child has been attending daycare but does not seem to be adjusting to it.
If after a few weeks your toddler is still having difficulty separating, is having an increase in tantrums, or generally doesn’t seem happy, it’s important to have an open dialogue with the staff about how your child is adjusting and if they’re ready to be there.
For children who find large groups of kids stressful or need more one-on-one attention, check for a low staff to child ratio when looking at childcare centers. Also, consider daycares or preschools that offer half days if a full day away from home is too overwhelming for your child at first.
Tips on Preparing Your Child for Daycare
There are some practical and easy things that a parent can do to prepare an infant or toddler to begin daycare.
For breastfeeding infants
If you are putting a breastfeeding infant into daycare, you can continue giving them breastmilk.
Open communication with the daycare staff about breastmilk storage, bottles, and the timing of feeds for babies before starting daycare is essential. If you work close by, discuss options for coming in to breastfeed during the day if that is important to you.
About a month before starting daycare, think about your system for pumping, freezing, and storing breastmilk. Also make sure your baby will take a bottle.
Talk with your child
Talk about daycare and explain how it works in simple words. Even a young child can understand the concept. Reading picture books about daycare may help.
Visit with your child
Take your child to the daycare center for a visit before they have their first day. Introduce them to the staff. Show them that you like and trust the adults in charge. Let them explore the center so the new environment is familiar before they begin.
Have other caregivers stay with them at home
To help your infant or toddler understand the concept of people other than you as their caregivers, arrange some sessions with babysitters at home.
Show your child that they can be left safely with another trusted adult and that you will always return.
For potty training children
Make sure you know the daycare’s policies on potty training well in advance. If the daycare staff are going to assist with potty training, make sure your child has a daycare bag packed with extra clothes in case of accidents.
If your child has to be potty trained before starting a preschool program, make sure you have begun the process well in advance.
When can I send my child to kindergarten
Contents
Many parents ask when to send their child to kindergarten. You have to choose between being busy at work and being able to spend as much time as possible with your baby.
In this article we will look at how old you can send your child to kindergarten, how to understand that he is ready for it, and also what are the pros and cons of this option.
At what age do children enter kindergarten
Experts say that a child should be sent to kindergarten in the interval from one and a half to three years. Previously, it is not recommended, because the baby does not yet have all the necessary skills. Later, it can be too difficult and quite traumatic event from a psychological point of view.
But you should always pay attention to the characteristics of a particular child. The reason is that psychological maturation is different for everyone.
It is important to take into account a number of characteristics of children. Usually until the age of three, children do not need much socialization. The presence of parents nearby is enough, they can well entertain themselves, they do not get bored.
But since a person is a member of society, it is important for him to communicate with people like himself. By the age of about three, we begin to realize ourselves as a person, we are interested in communicating with peers, and we easily enter into a dialogue.
Therefore, three years will be the best age for most children to enter the kindergarten group. There the child will receive education, be able to prepare for school, expand his vocabulary and list of skills.
Until then, it is a good idea to leave the child at home. Of course, if your employment and work schedule allows it.
How to understand that a child is ready to enter kindergarten
It is important for parents to look closely at the child and try to objectively understand whether he can normally be in kindergarten. It is wrong to shift all responsibility to the educator; in the family, the baby should be taught the minimum necessary for socialization.
Here are some signs that a child can be sent to kindergarten:
Basic self-care skills are present.
The kid draws the line between such concepts as “foreign” and “own”.
The child becomes crowded at home, he constantly asks to walk outside with other children, asks to meet with peers.
The absence of parents for a certain period of time is tolerated calmly.
Also a good sign that you can pay attention to kindergarten is that the child begins to show interest in classes, is inquisitive, wants to learn.
Why a child should be sent to a kindergarten
It is also worth evaluating the positive and negative sides of a kindergarten. It is important not to go to extremes, not to exalt or demonize this institution, but to treat it objectively. We will consider the advantages of the garden further.
➕ Building awareness of the need to follow the rules
This is something that parents often have problems with when they are raised at home. In kindergarten, the child will understand what order is, what rules must be followed when a person is in society. These are very important skills to master that will help you throughout your life. But if you do not purchase them, there is a risk of facing serious problems.
➕ Understanding the peculiarities of being in a team
There are introverts and extroverts, but during a long period of our life one way or another we will have to communicate with the team. This is important at school and in higher education, and then often at work. It is in kindergarten that we first understand what a team is, gain a sense of comradeship, learn to communicate, work in a team.
➕ Physical activity and physical activity
Such a problem of modern society as a lack of mobility remains relevant for children as well. When they are not attending kindergarten, chances are that more time will be spent on gadgets, the internet, and video games. But the child needs to play more, move and just have fun. In a good garden, there is always a balance between outdoor activities, indoor activities and relaxation.
➕ Compliance with the daily routine
Another important rule that is taught in kindergarten is an understanding of the importance of observing the correct daily routine. It is extremely important for a normal mental and physiological state.
➕ Basic school preparation
Many kindergartens provide children with skills that may be required to enter school. There are also educational programs. But to get the best results, you still have to attend additional preparatory classes outside the kindergarten.
➕ Maintaining the order and culture of communication
In kindergarten, the child will learn to be neat, to communicate with peers. It also helps to gain an understanding of the sense of tact that will be required in adulthood.
Disadvantages of Kindergarten
It is also worth remembering the potential disadvantages of kindergarten. They may vary depending on how the work of a particular institution is structured. Among the most common shortcomings of the kindergarten are the following.
➖ Being separated from the family for a long time
This causes psychological discomfort for many children and makes them feel sad. As a result, the mood deteriorates, tantrums appear due to unwillingness to go to the garden.
➖ Emphasis on group education instead of individual education
It is difficult for a teacher in a large group to keep track of everyone, to ensure that the child receives the desired level of development. And for many, this is just not enough. Not all children feel good in a group, but the conditions of the kindergarten do not imply individual treatment.
➖ Possibility of bad influence
All children are different. There is a risk that your child will fill up his vocabulary with bad words or simply begin to imitate the bully. Much here depends on the skills and personal will of the educator, but not everyone can keep track of the wards.
➖ Diseases
Children often bring all kinds of diseases from kindergarten. On the other hand, it is here that it is better to get sick with something that can put the body under a stronger threat in adulthood. An example is a windmill.
➖ Poor nutrition
Funding problems often result in a child simply not getting a wide variety of nutrients and micronutrients. The low level of quality of preparation at the same time can potentially lead to the fact that many dishes will be perceived with negativity throughout the rest of their lives.
➖ Personnel issue
The situation in this area is also difficult with regard to personnel. Often one has to meet complaints about incompetent educators who misbehave with children.
What to do in such a situation
In order not to make a mistake, you should send your child to a kindergarten, the quality of which you are sure. A good option would be to find a private institution for him with positive reviews. They usually have a more careful approach to the selection of teaching staff, as well as smaller groups. This helps to better build learning, get noticeably more benefits.
At what age should a child be sent to kindergarten? Psychologist’s advice
03/20/2015
Parents often ask questions like this:
– At what age will it be easier for a child to start going to kindergarten – at 2 or 3 years old? At what age should a child be given? I tend to 3 years old, but I often hear that in kindergarten, children develop faster and you need to give up earlier.
But most of all I want to decide for myself whether we need a kindergarten, because I am more and more inclined to the fact that I would not want to send my child there. Husband for kindergarten. What is your opinion on this matter?
Or
– Our child is still 1.6 years old, but they have already started taking kindergarten. I am against kindergarten, my husband is for it, his mother is a kindergarten teacher. In my opinion, now you can do without a garden, because there are many children’s clubs where children are in the same children’s team, communicate and work together. All that is needed is the desire of parents to engage with their child, to teach him. I would like to know the opinion of a psychologist.
So, at what age is it better to send a child to kindergarten?
“To Kindergarten Without Tears!” – get step-by-step recommendations and help your child quickly and easily prepare and adapt to kindergarten. Without stress, screaming and psychological trauma.
Sending a child to a kindergarten until the age of 3?
From the point of view of child psychology, the main need of a child under 3 years old is a close, emotionally rich communication with his mother. With the very first and most important person for a child in his life. A person who always understands, supports and, of course, loves. This is ideal.
How a child communicates with his mother, how much his need for this close and deep contact is satisfied, will depend on whether he develops a basic trust or distrust in the world and other people.
At the age of 2.5-3 years, the child does not yet have a pronounced desire to play with other children, he still does not know how and does not know how to do it, and such a need, as a rule, does not arise at this age .
The whole world for him is his mother. The source of joy is mother, the source of communication and love is mother.
Therefore, if a child is sent to a kindergarten at the age of up to 2.5 years, it will always be, one way or another, contrary to the nature of the child and contrary to his basic psychological needs – well, he does not yet have the need to play for hours with other children and spends a long time without mothers.
Developing activities, clubs – that’s different. You come here with your mom for 1-2 hours, mom is nearby, she is always ready to help, support, show what and how to do. She is always available. And such activities are good if the child likes it and walks with pleasure.
The desire to slowly psychologically separate from the mother occurs in a child at about the age of 3 years, provided that before that the child received “enough” of the mother and was not frightened by a long separation from the mother, did not experience the fear of suddenly losing the mother.
“To kindergarten without tears!” – get step-by-step recommendations and help your child quickly and easily prepare and adapt to kindergarten. Without stress, screaming and psychological trauma.
What is kindergarten for a child?
Frankly speaking, kindergartens are not a very natural place for a child to stay. Nature did not invent this. Nature did not invent for a child to spend 7-8 hours in a team of children who are not his brothers and sisters. And she didn’t invent it so that he would obey and obey strangers who are not his mom or dad.
This is a relatively recent invention with its pros and cons.
Previously, there were no kindergartens, children grew up constantly next to their parents, were brought up by relatives, older brothers and sisters, nannies, governesses.
What does a child face when going to kindergarten for the first time
A clear daily routine, early awakenings.
New, unusual food.

“To kindergarten without tears!” – get step-by-step recommendations and help your child quickly and easily prepare and adapt to kindergarten. Without stress, screaming and psychological trauma.
But many parents find it hard to do without a kindergarten in the modern world. And if a child goes there already prepared enough to be separated from his mother for a long time and he already has the experience of self-service, the need to communicate with other children, the need to actively explore the world around him, interest in activities – then, of course, this can even be useful for the child. .

Should I send my child to kindergarten?
If you have the opportunity, it is better to send your child to kindergarten closer to 3 years. This will be less traumatic for the child and more or less meet his needs.
At this age, children can more or less stay without their mother for a while without psychological stress.
Can explain in words what they need, like and dislike. There are little bits of self-sufficiency.
Children can already play TOGETHER instead of next to each other (starting at age 3).
You can explain to a child that mom/dad will leave and then they will come.
The child will be able to tell you if he is being bullied or is worried about something.
And if you don’t have such an opportunity and you need to send your child to kindergarten earlier, then you need to do everything possible to prepare him for kindergarten as much as possible and minimize the emotional burden on his psyche.
